The APP opens, displays the logo and three alternating progress circles. That’s it. My HBO APPs work fine. I have deleted the APP. Restarted my iPhone. Downloaded the APP. Same problem.
I agree many of the other reviews can’t cast pointless for me !
I find it frustrating & very annoying that I cannot cast from my iPhone to my chromecast in order to watch movies on this app. It just seems so antiquated & low tech not to have that ability in this day and age. I really hope the next update gets with the times.
I would give this app 5🌟’s if you made it available to stream to Chromecast. After all, it is from HBO & the HBO GO & HBO NOW apps streams on Chromecast, so why not the Cinemax app? What’s the hold up?
i cant sign in with my tv provider ps vue if fixed 5 stars.
How can you not even have the Chromecast button embedded so I can watch this on something larger than my phone?? This is 2019. Aren't y'all HBO's sister company? Get it together so I can update this review.
Update with ChromeCast, please and thank you.
Good app but need a fire stick app or Xbox app Or something just like HBO Go
Yeah, I would much rather watch Cinemax on my 6” iPhone screen rather than my 60” Apple TV 4K/Dolby Atmos equipped home entertainment system! And better yet, no method of communication with HBO (parent corporation) to request an Apple TV app. Get a hint, HBO! Give us a MaxGo app for Apple TV.
This app needs serious retooling. Dear Cinemax Board of Directors, Fire your VP of Streaming Services immediately ¡¡¡POST-HASTE!!! It is clear that they do not know what they are doing. You have many many unhappy customers & I imagine that this particular executive is receiving a bonus that does not measure up to the work they have done in addition to the amount of customers that you are losing (due to the horrific functionality of ‘MaxGo’) and will be continue to lose if something doesn’t change. Thank you for reading & I hope change can be made! Good luck. -Andrew S.
Doesn’t cast to television
Yet another provider stuck in the 90s. Access requires a cable subscription and there’s no way to just give Cinemax your money for their programming. Nope, cable required. Hard pass.
Sorry, cancelled the service with the provider since there is still no Apple TV or Chromecast support (no, AirPlay doesn't count). You have all of that for the HBO Go app, but why not Max Go? If you got both of these in the app and actually kept it updated (iOS 12 is out but no big updates yet), I would renew my subscription. Until then, nope not a dime.
60+ million of these devices have been sold. It's not that you're so far behind as much as it's clear you just don't care.
For those that use their Apple TV and may not own other Apple devices should be able to access MAXGO. Please update.
..AirPlay over an iPhone to an Apple TV connected to a 65” 4K TV is not how people should stream movies. Cancelled my subscription. HBO go or now - fine Showtime - fine Starz - fine Cinemax - nothing..
I have never used this app nor the web browser app. Yet it gives me an error saying I have too many streams open. That’s ridiculous. I issued an online help order but have not heard back. And the movies in the app are more complete than Xfinity.
The functionality of this app is awful. Crashes all the time and unless you have an Apple TV there’s no casting ability. What a waste of time and money.
We have a local low-budget over the air tv network that has an app that I can cast to my smart tv (which isn’t an Apple TV) but this million dollar makin’ company can’t do the same? Pathetic. Wish I’d never subscribed to this dumb network.
Come on guys! Get with the times! It’s not like you’re working on a super tight budget and can’t make this app compatible to cast like the dozens of others I have (including HBO). Sure I could cast to my TV if I had an Apple TV but I don’t. I have a Vizio and haven’t had a bit of trouble using SmartCast with all my other streaming apps but the fact that I can’t do that with this one makes it not worth the while. It’s a shame too, because there’s a great selection of movies but I really don’t want to do watch them on a 4 inch phone screen when I have a 54 inch television. I’m going to cancel this subscription until they get it together and make this app one that works like my dozens of others, and I regret that I spent the money on it in the first place. I’m definitely a very disappointed customer.
