DoorDash - Dasher Comments & Reviews 2026
First time I got cheated. I was thinking DoorDash was a honest group. My orders were pretty fair as a lot goes into our car and time as dashers. I know they use to take the tip money and play them into the drivers payments. For the first time I noticed how they are now doing that with the “peak or “promo pay” I was noticing 7$ and 5$ orders I said to myself how can there be a 2$ promo and the whole order only be 5$ that would mean the base pay is 3$ and I know I never have and never will accept a 3 $ order. Anyway I’m until now I thought we were finally getting paid for work but a 3$ order in California lol gas alone to do the trip cost 4 so why would anyone lose money for you guys? What a shame it is now I never even had to look at my pay bc u guys. We’re on it and fair and paid what we should get but I think with a 2$ promo running I had 3 orders all that were 3$ base comon greedy to say the least. All I can ask is plz try to be honest don’t put a promo if ur not doing promo prices. Understand we are in cali every order should be at leader 10$ but min is 7 or not worth it we would be loosing money. But certainly don’t mislead and con on the promos I don’t know why y’all just started the conning on them as u we’re keeping it legit. Oh well I’m sure I will be reading about this one soon how doordash uses fake promos to intisce drivers. And if u could actually give me some extra pay for the lies aand inconvience
There is no where else to leave this app feedback so I guess I do it here?. So I just drove 3 miles to the store I was going to shop my order at to get unassigned, because the “I don’t have red card” button is so close to the phones home button. When I was switching back to the dasher app from stopping my Everlance trip, I pressed where the “start shopping” button should be, but my finger accidentally grazed the “I don’t have red card” button on the way and the “start shopping” button I thought I was pressing turned into an “unassign order” button that didn’t even ask me if I was sure to give a chance to go back. It just wiped the order off my screen instantly. It would be better if the “unassign order” button would pop up somewhere different than where the “start shopping” button is, or if there could be another screen asking if you are sure about unassigning the order, or if it could just get rid of the “I don’t have red card” button from my app in general since it doesn’t even make sense as I have a digital doordash red card now that if I have my phone then I have it, and if I am dashing then I obviously have my phone. It would also be nice if there was somewhere in the app to leave general feedback about the app that doesn’t require a support session so there is a better place to report this type of stuff than here.
Faulty systems and stress. I’ve been door dashing for a while now and I find that your system has many faults I have to restart my cell phone almost every day during a trip during a run a dash so that it’ll work effectively. The requirements that you give us for time causes me to speed and causes me stress costing me money because I have to pay for more gas cause I’m driving faster. This is also an unsafe behavior I don’t know where are you came up with this idea of giving essay in a limited amount of time to deliver in order. Maybe some delivery boys are not very diligent but I am a diligent driver. When I deliver I deliver. Another problem Hass to do with stacking orders on me and then not adjusting the time so that I can meet as of a reasonable on time rate for example yesterday you gave me to order stacked on each other and the delivery time for each one was after I had already picked up my orders though how can I deliver on time when I didn’t even pick up the order on time I feel the system is very unfair and it can get any causes more stress because i’m a diligent driver. When I drive for DoorDash I do my best and yesterday it was pouring down rain I got soaking wet to the bone but I still delivered my orders you know a little gratitude sometimes goes a long ways having your system working efficiently would be nice thank you
Only good for side hustle. In my one year experience with the dasher app, I found that the best way to have somewhat of a good experience is to use it as side hustle. I pick and choose my orders from the comfort of my house. When you decide to go to their hotspots, you are running like a headless chicken. Doordash is going to play with you. In addition to that, Doordash has time management issues. When I first started i did $3 - 5 orders until I found myself waiting 30 min to an hour for the order to get ready and received no compensation for wait time. Big orders like Walmart’s literally ask to carry 5+ cases of 40 water bottles up whatever amount of floors the customer request for delivery. Sometimes you make 3 to 4 trips up and down the stairs. A complete waist of time and energy for $10 - 15 compensation. When you do fast food like McDonald’s in the overnight, the only way to get the order is through the drive thru. On the weekend the drive thru is full. The line goes slowly. You could spend half an hour standing in line, but Doordash doesn’t take that into account. They mark that delivery as late. Even when you reach out to Doordash assistance to explain the situation. They make promises that they would look into it, but they never really go ahead to help whatsoever. The system want to take advantage of you. But if you know how the system work, you can take advantage of it. So is the case with the dasher app. All the best everyone.
Latest update. The latest update removed the feature to review the Dash after each completion. That’s really bad for Dashers because vendors (and also, but much, much less often, customers) are sneaky and treat Dashers with prejudice and rudeness, which they will be allowed to get away with if Dashers can’t give feedback. Also, the update resulted in the gps part of the app taking you unnecessarily long routes when an obviously simpler route exists, whereas saving mileage and fuel is so important to this type of work. The update did fix the focus on the camera when there’s bright light shining directly at it or when the flash feature is selected. It also fixed the glitch of the app freezing when the Dash time is finished. An update I’m waiting to see for safety reasons is for the app not to drop the gps randomly when the hotspots change or especially immediately after orders are accepted. It causes drivers to miss freeway exits and turn lanes and then have to navigate more than one button to get back to the gps all while driving in traffic. Most importantly, I just feel much less safe using the app without being able to give feedback after each completion. That feature needs to be a non-negotiable permanent option of the app.
Fun but app could be a bit better for dashers. I like the extra $ and it’s a decent gig but I feel that door dash shouldn’t allow the customer to do a no tip. I get them quite often from the same customers and I’m always on time or earlier. Make sure they have extra sauces. Napkins. Etc and I’m always polite and still get nothing from it. Dashers drive their own personal cars to make sure the customer gets their food and we use our own gas to make it happen. 3$ a trip isn’t worth delivering to people ordering 40-60$ of food and we have to go the extra mile for nothing basically. I feel that door dash can implement something on if you order either a lot of food and or a high price amount then the customer is required to tip. Also regarding if a store is indefinitely closed. They should make it easier to know what button to click to say you can’t do the order and not be docked acceptance because it not being your fault. If you click stores closed it should prompt you to say is it closed or closed indefinitely and then take you to the proper area if it’s indefinitely. Other than that. I’ll continue to do this as a side gig because it’s not hard and easy $. Also I think door dash should do a rewards program on for every order you do you get points to get door dash merchandise to help with deliveries either it be better bags. Drink holders. Shirts. Etc. Would boost people to push for helpful items and or personal merchandise.
App Ratings/Order Pay. Door Dash app lowers your acceptance rate considerably if you refuse a couple of orders in a row. The app doesn’t show you if a customer is adding a tip, so sometimes it’s just the base pay, or base pay plus peak pay, no matter the distance. I want to deliver during lunch hours but won’t because it’s not worth the expenditure of fuel for $4 to travel 3-5 miles/$5.50 for 6-12 miles. When sending two orders, it affects our delivery time window, especially if the restaurant takes longer to process the second order, or the customer doesn’t include gate codes, or special instructions that there are 2 entrances to their residence location, which brings down our “on time” delivery rating. If I’m headed in one direction I am sent an order that is in the opposite direction, I can’t switch lanes that fast, sometimes traffic is heavy it’s difficult to find where to do a legal U-Turn. And the biggest issue is I get sent orders that take me out of my scheduled delivery area, and am notified that I’m out of my delivery zone, so I have to travel back if I want to receive more orders, so for a longer distance the app doesn’t account for round trip travel which is not cost effective. I’m looking to sign up with other similar food delivery apps to see which one works best for me, but of course I will continue to do Door Dash.
Basically kicked off. I have been a dasher for over 3 years. So about 3 months ago my account started giving me an error message saying I couldn’t dash because my red card is not activated. So I called into cs and was told to order a new red card. I was extended for 2 weeks to continue dashing until I received my red card. I received the card and I wasn’t able to activate the red card so I called cs and they tried to assist me in the process but were no help. They couldn’t figure out what the problem was so they extended me for another 2 weeks to figure it out. Called back still couldn’t resolve the issue. I was told to order another red card and was extended for another 2 weeks. I received the new card and I’m unable to activate this one as well. Called cs and they couldn’t figure it out. Then they tell me oh you didn’t complete the background process and send my a link to do this. I follow the directions in the email. I get an error message basically saying background more than 1 year old not available. Called cs back they extend me for 2 weeks and try to figure it out. This extending process goes on for a while every 2 weeks. Then my issue was supposedly escalated and someone would get back in touch with me but this time I can’t be extended for some reason. It’s been 2 weeks and a haven’t received any response. So basically I was just kicked off with no explanation.
Improve DD app. I’ve only been driving since June and I really do enjoy the job…..when the app is working properly. I’ve spent a lot of time ‘chatting’ with Support or speaking with them by phone. I’ve had several different app issues and most have been addressed. Today was the worst. It was absolutely crippling. After accepting the order, I drove to the restaurant and picked up the order and put it in my car…all ready to go. All of a sudden I had no way to inform DD that I had picked up the order, no information about the delivery other than the customer’s name and no way to contact her to let her know it might be a little longer than was first thought for receipt of her food. I went into the restaurant to see if they possibly had her address or phone number. No. During my time in the store, another dasher came in looking for the order for my same customer!!! DD had moved the order from me to the other dasher because they hadn’t heard from me so they assumed I wasn’t going to complete the order. Bottom line? I passed the food to the new dasher to deliver. She would receive the payment (as well she should) and I not even lost a lot of my dashing time, I LOST THE $$ FROM MY ORDER. Unacceptable. This is a fabulously successful company….they should have state-of-the-art technical equipment. Like I said, I really enjoy the job but issues like this MUST BE addressed.
Dangerous long deliveries. I used to love to dash because of the extra money I was making and still staying close to home. But now someone can order something 15 to 20 miles away from the area that I want to stay in and if I decline it, my rating goes down but if I take it then I’m in an unknown area taking deliveries where I don’t feel safe for an unfair amount of money. Now if I want to get back to my area, I have to either pause within the app or end my dash to return to a better known/safer area. There’s no reason that I should be picking up deliveries 15-20 miles away from the drop off then being told I’m “outside the delivery area,” especially since I want to stay in the area that I’m comfortable with and not go to a completely different city. How is that also fair to the people that ordered food when their food gets delivered cold because of the far deliver distance? My first and last delivery today I got called profanities and then was told “I would’ve given you cash if you weren’t so late.” My response to the DoorDash team is to quit allowing restaurants to deliver WAY outside a delivery area then expecting drivers to waste gas and time to return to the area in which you sent them out to.
DoorDasher here. I am a Paralegal and I started dashing pastime nearly 2 years ago and I’ve recently decided to take it to the next level and become a full time dasher and I absolutely love this job. Meeting people and driving around making everyone gets the joy of food is very rewarding. I also appreciate the that dasher help assists us dashers with and I really like the bonuses. I couldn’t be happier anywhere else. Not even the law office I previously worked at. DoorDashing is amazing. This is my second review, and I would like to say that I very much enjoy door dashing. I was diagnosed with MS recently, and I was unable to work my job as a Paralegal and for department of children and families when I was diagnosed, I was unable to work full-time at my professional job so I decided to start DoorDashing and this is the way that I am able to survive financially to be able to buy groceries, pay my bills, and pay for my medication and copays. DoorDash has saved my life financially, and I am forever grateful and any time I’ve ever needed dasher support. I have been treated with kindness, and I think this is what I will do for the rest of my days working I appreciate DoorDash. I am very grateful. Thank you all so much. DoorDashing is a blessing I’m very grateful for. I would love to someday become a remote work from home DoorDash support specialist.
They rip off employees and lie. I was in the middle of door dashing for 1575 an hour and they asked me if I wanted to add a delivery that had a $10 tip to my order in the middle of my delivery while I was delivering by the hour but they decided just to give me two dollars and take away my hourly pay . Their excuse was in the middle of doing that I was scheduled to start working somewhere else. Well when you’re scheduled to work somewhere, you’re still working at the other job until you get done with it if I was cut off and I wasn’t scheduled that money should have carried on at the 1575 an hour at said I was getting when I accepted it. . And when you do schedule it pops up and says, would you like to do it by the hour by the tip and it’s always highlighted by the hour when I start because that’s what I do.. they decided to give me just two bucks for the delivery instead of $25 I agreed to while dashing by the hour and say my schedule changed in the middle of the dash and decided to switch it to by tip on their own in the middle of the delivery . So I got ripped off I’m out of gas and this is the 5th time they ripped me off . Door dash will lie straight to your face and rip u off as much as they can as long as u allow them to . Screw these rip offs and there lies . I will never work for them again . Friday I will send anyone who sends me a screenshot of rating door dash one star a dollar for everytime you can . Real talk . No one likes being ripped off
Please do something about the navigation!. While the app itself is a wonderful way to earn some money if you’re a college student like myself, the navigation system is horrible and outdated. I’ve been driving around town multiple times trying to find my way to an order and it has just completely taken me to the wrong area. What prompted me to write this review was the instance that happened to me today, resulting in me getting a 1 star review, almost lowering it to the point where my account may end up being deactivated. Since this customers house was right off the road, and there was no driveway to my knowledge, I ended up having to pull up onto their front yard to drop off the order, when in reality, there was a driveway, just behind the house, easily accessible about two blocks down. This was also noted in her instructions for the order, but I could not see those because I was trying to follow the directions the navigation app told me to take, which was to take a driveway that used to be in the front yard. If the system was updated to the point that I could’ve A: seen the customers instruction while following the navigation apps instructions or B: updated recent enough to have known that there was no driveway in the front yard now, and it was obvious it had been gone for years at this point, then this could have been a seamless delivery with no issues.
It’s not what it used to be. They’ve changed a lot about the app, some for the better and some for worse. I really don’t like how difficult it is to find support while dashing, and I don’t like that I can no longer review how easy is store was for pick up. Having the feature to be able to review a store as a Dasher felt like the employees of that store cared a little bit more about making sure that the order was ready, Dashers were getting everything that they needed. But now it feels like all of the restaurants don’t care about keeping things consistent because they’re not liable for late orders when you have to wait a little bit and there’s no repercussion or bad reading to keep them in check for giving even Dashers good service. The app itself glitches more often than I would appreciate, because I understand it’s a very busy app and a lot of users on it, however, it is more than just a few reasonable glitches so it does become quite a headache and a problem. Such as the fact that every dash that I start is behind by about one order, so my total will usually be incorrect for my whole dash until I hit finish dash. Overall, the app is not terrible. There just a few things that could be a lot easier for drivers to interact with while trying to efficiently deliver an order.
They really only care about the bottom line. You can tell DoorDash really only cares about making money. As a Dasher, I feel like everything is set up to benefit the company and so they put a customer first and penalize the Dasher. I’ve made deliveries where I had to find somebody’s tent in a fairground, and my car got hit and they’ve done nothing for me. Their customer service is so bad. It’s mostly people who English is their second language and I’ve never been able to talk to anyone higher than whoever picks up the phone even though I requested speaking to a manager on four different phone calls. They always say I should get an email but the email always includes a generic response that you can find on the website with no further helpful information and then they close the case. I’ve literally been doing this for over a year now and they won’t even give me a pizza bag for free. I convince my sister to become a Dasher and they didn’t give me the Dasher referral bonus. If I wasn’t in grad school and needed this in addition to my two other jobs for extra income, I would never do this. It is so horrible to their employees. They don’t give you anything and they’re just trying to make money off of you and any turn they possibly can. i’m sure they’re going to start losing customers and workers for how bad their policies and procedures are. I’m telling all my friends now who asked that it’s an awful job, and they should never do it.
Worst app ever!. This app never has any updates! I’ve been dashing since Feb 2022. I have not seen one update for this app since starting. The app constantly pauses your dash without letting you know, then they’ll send you a message saying they tried to send you an order and that’s why they paused my dash. Today I was dashing and several times my phone notified me saying I had an order and it even came through to my text message with the second notification from door dash but nothing came through on my door dash screen. Many, many, many times I’ve used this app it would freeze and when you go out of it to go back in sometimes it would say “dash now”, “sign in”, or show my money to be at zero after already having accrued money during that current dash. This by far is the WORST APP and so frustrating bc we are trying to not loose money and be proficient so we can make the most! This app truly makes dashers jobs harder and I’ve even reached out to technical support and they have given me different options to try and fix the matter and the problems still persist! Door dash is gonna loose people working for them if they don’t start updating their bugs and glitches on the app. If they truly were a great company they would compensate peoples loss in money, with this constant problem!! I love doing door dash and so does my husband, but we both have these same problems with the app, it’s very frustrating!! I hope they resolve these CONSTANT ISSUES!
It’s ok.. App is ok. I have issues with the maps. Usually faces in the wrong direction when I start. That’s not too big of an issue. What is an issue is getting an order that’s a 20 minute drive out of your zone and having to drive that 20 min back and not getting anything until you return to your zone. If a restaurant can add a gratuity when a party is a certain size, DD can do the same with a certain distance. When you’re in the middle of traffic, you really can’t see how far it really is and what kind of tip they leave until after you accept and stop at the location. Sometimes even going into another county. And forget about reaching support if you’re a dasher. I called 5 times and the automated thing just kept taking me in circles until it hangs up on you. Chatting, I was able to get someone fast through customer support. Dasher support? Nope. No one answered after waiting 30 minutes. Other than that, it’s been ok. Just don’t know why my deposit for the week was shorted from my actual amount. That’s the reason why I called the support line. Another issue I came across is wait times on food being ready. I keep having to unassign orders because they won’t be ready for 15-20 minutes. I’m not waiting that long for $5. They need to make it so that we won’t receive orders until it’s ready for pick up. Other than that, we’re just waiting time and $6 gas
My acceptance rate goes down for unassignment. Normally this is the best app for gig workers. The Driver support is awesome.I’ve noticed quite a few dashers talking about the acceptance ratings not working correctly. I have to agree. I think it began with the new iOS update last month since it’s a recent event. On May 31, 2023 my acceptance rate was incorrectly impacted by 3 dashes from which I unassigned. I did decline one dash which correctly moved my acceptance rate from 71% to 70% at the conclusion of my Dash at 9:40 PM on May 31. This mistake prevented me from achieving top Dasher for the month of June, since it incorrectly moved my final acceptance rate from 70% to 67%. My requests to be unassigned correctly impacted my completion rate, which moved to 97%. Apparently whoever was next offered those 3 dashes, failed to accept those Dashes, which incorrectly impacted my acceptance rate. I worked very hard for my top dasher status which I’ve maintained for several months. According to the statistics on my dasher app, I finished with the 70% acceptance rate at 9:40pm at the end of my dash on May 31, but Doordash wrongly had me at 67%. Will you investigate this? Might you please correct that mistake and restore my status as top Dasher for the month of June? I also hope that can you assure me that such a mistake will not occur in the future.
Red Card Issues. If you decide to make extra income with Door Dash please review this before hand. One way that Door Dash will have you pay for orders is by providing you with a company business card referred to as a “Red Card”. What Door Dash does it pre-fill the card with the amount needed to pay for the order. I had an order as such and this experience was a nightmare. Not only did the card get declined multiple times. After contacting Dasher Support, which session lasted for over an hour and half and multiple attempts of re-swiping the card and verify the card info and verifying that there is cash on the card. I was unable to complete the order and this order was then reassigned to another dasher. Check this out not only did they ask if I could pay out of pocket in order to complete the order. Because I’m definitely not door dashing because I need money (sarcasm). They then told me they had to unassigned the order and in this now onwards of 1 hour 45 min. I haven’t completed one dash and didn’t get compensated for my time, gas, and energy put into this. They did not make it right by the people who make this company run. So after reading this, please ask yourself do you want this sort of experience?
Fair but not worth it. Listen, I never write reviews. But I figured someone deserved to know. If gas was like two dollars cheaper, this would be a great little side hustle. But DoorDash pays you the absolute bare minimum they possibly can. You have to rely solely on people‘s tips and not a lot of people like to tip. And it shouldn’t be a requirement for people to tip at all(should only be common courtesy). But the only reason people who DoorDash get upset at people for not tipping is because that’s literally their main income. And it really influences your order because if you don’t tip, they usually get about three dollars to four dollars at best. And a lot of people don’t like to accept those orders. Sometimes people take advantage of your lopaying order and steal your food or something worse. All in all, it’s not the door Dasher or orderers fault, it’s just DoorDash being greedy. When you DoorDash, you really are just earning what you spent in gas. You have to do over at least eight orders in order to make even a couple bucks on the side. If you have a high-paying job and do this on the side, go for it. But you can’t do this by itself. you would think that when you accept an order from a hotspot and it takes you to a really far distance, that they would compensate you for that. But they really only tack on an extra dollar or two. Not only does this seem like a waste of gas, but a waste in time. just consider this before you sign up.
Dasher Michelle Walker. I love doing deliveries! Meeting new people and building a network with the merchants. I have established a few regulars which makes this that much more enjoyable. My only thing is that there seems to be too many drivers out at the same time on certain nights and even during the days lately. Makes it hard to commit full time especially in a small town. I like to stay busy and for the last two weeks I am not busy at all. I can schedule a seven or eight hour shift and actually only work maybe 3 hours. Too much down time. I love being part of a platform where I decide what works for me and change it up by doing deliveries when I go to my moms in Colorado. Being able to work in different cities around the United States is awesome ! There aren’t too many platforms which allow this, I think it is great though because a dasher can keep their ratings high and the app greasy and not lose status as a top dasher if they so choose or they can take vacay! So many great options driving for Doordash but working for me by me! I’m going to give full time devotion here in a couple weeks I’m praying to be able to quit the working for someone else and be happy doing what I am loving more everyday! Best to you all out there doing the deal!!!
Fun job just needs some tweaks to the app. The map is pretty difficult to use since you can’t hear where you should be turning. It just beeps at me when I need to turn. It’s really distracting having to look from at the phone every time I deliver. I have also been missing out on more dashes because the directions are wrong and send me to dead ends or closed roads. I either have to enter it into my google maps if I have somewhere to pull over or just try and figure it out if I don’t. Or I will get sent to an address that is way out of my delivery area and have to go all the way back to my area before I can get another order. It usually cost me as much as I get paid for the order in gas when that happens. I’ve been dashing for a little over a week and have literally only made enough to cover the gas that I’m using while delivering. Even though I show up early to pick up and leave restaurants early with the deliveries. It’s usually the amount of time it takes to actually get to the delivery address because they can be all the way across town. Other than that I love working for DoorDash. It just needs a few tweaks on the app to help out drivers and make it easier and faster to get to deliveries. Or adding to the pay due for the amount of time you are driving to a delivery. Here in Vegas it can take 20 minutes to go 11 miles.
Well organized but could use improvement!. The app is well organized and allows dashers to have more freedom and flexibility. The UI is slightly outdated and the app crashes randomly. Recently, the app will crash when I end dashes. It also has navigation struggles and trouble loading the navigation. It lags and stutters. But my main reason for writing this review has nothing to do with stability. It’s more about safety. When the app gives you an offer to pick up an order, the map is often misleading. I will think I’m going to a safe area then suddenly I’ll find out it’s in an extremely unsafe town or area. It would be really helpful if the offers could detail the towns that the restaurants AND the homes are in, even if you have to click for more details. As a female dasher, this a major concern. I try to avoid areas that could pose a problem, but sometimes I’m not 100% sure where I’m going. On top of that, if dashers could blacklist certain towns from their region, that could be helpful. I hope this suggestion is taken into account because it would absolutely be a game changer for me because declining orders affects my acceptance percentage. Overall, the app brings customers and dashers together fairly well, keeps communication open, and allows dashers to make some cash. However, the app is glitchy and needs stability improvements. It also could be more helpful if it gave dashers more information about the deliveries BEFORE they accept.
the service and support team is the worst. The support team is really the worst i have ever seen. I have made a referral with my aunt and then door dash just decided to change amount of deliveries. The amount of deliveries when we were registering for referral was 0 ( so it was 600$ and 400$ for just doing an account( and that’s why we decided to do an account with my aunt) after the amount of deliveries was changed , we have 290 deliveries in 2 days. The next 2 month i was calling support probably 3 or 4 times a week. And very time the support was saying , yeah yeah, everything is fine. The team is working , and you will receive your referral bonus soon. But what i really can say about door dash support and door dash at all is that they just don’t care. they don’t care if they would resolve your issue. All they want is you to just hang up. And don’t call them with your problems , about their app. I was calling a lot before to the door dash support not only about this issue, and every time it has the same issue and mood. So i would recover honestly everyone just not to use this app and door dash at all. Because uber for example or other delivery apps is at least trying to be nice, and help you with your issues. And I have mentioned a lot time when door dash support representative just lying to you so you would hang up faster. My issue still wasn’t resolved, so we just left trying to call or chat with support about our issue , because no one cares.
From 5 to O star rating review. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED being a dasher, was pretty good at it, too. I did everything as I was supposed to and believe me It was not easy to do some of the deliveries, especially at night especially with bad GPS especially for little money but I hung in there and I did what was necessary to complete my orders. I had 97 percent acceptance rate 100 percent completion rate, 4.9 customer rating, 99 percent on time or early deliveries. Then two weeks ago Doordash deactivated my dasher account for no valid reason to do so. I accepted an order less than two mins away from the restaurant and when I got there the order had disappeared, my account was deactivated. I filed the appeal right away and tried calling. The automated phone guy said you will have a response in regards to appeals within 7 days. And hangs up immediately. So I guess we are required to complete Doordash orders with no assistance from the multi million dollar company when their company has all the monetary gain from people’s work and time. The app has to be uninstalled and reinstalled all of the time and is not very user friendly. I was also a customer of Doordash, but now I do not care how bad I need something delivered, I will walk or whatever. They don’t care about the drivers at ALL!!!!
My Experiences as a Doordash Driver. While dashing I hate it when I see “you missed an opportunity”. I tell myself, how could I have missed when it’s not even offered to me. Sometimes these “you missed an opportunity” shows in succession, like three in a row in a matter of seconds. Does Doordash intentionally do that? I am an optimistic person so when I see “you missed an opportunity” I just smile and tell myself “here we go again, there goes my acceptance rate, it’s going to go down now. I work very hard and I’m dedicated to my job so I always try my best to satisfy my employer and my customers all the time. I have been dashing for three months now, I haven’t declined an offer yet, I always accept whatever I’m offered. Sometimes though, there are offers that I had to pick up from about 11 miles away then deliver it way to the end of town, about another 15 miles. I just tell myself, it’s a normal part of the job so I don’t complain at all. I must commend the “Doordash Support Team”, they’re always there for me. Every time I get into a situation where I needed their assistance, they’re there and always are willing to help. One time though, I had to wait almost 20 minutes before someone offered to help me. The majority of the time, there’s someone within three minutes.
Suggestion. If “we” the dashers could somehow make a personal profile for the people in our community and are available times even if they vary day to day (like our personal calendar for our individual open windows of opportunity to be of assistant to our community) and for customers to have the opportunity to choose the dasher available at the time they would like, I think it would be a greater opportunity for both the dasher and the customer. Some customers order takeout on a regular basis, some customers don’t have the transportation to go grocery shopping on the regular, or run errands themselves. So I think it would be more fulfilling to have aParticular person to be able to run errands for them. All in all it would help EVERYONE in our community to work together efficiently. Bringing the community together a little better! And single moms or families that need an income but can’t afford to pay for childcare well they could build their own personal profileBeing open to their community for services as well being able to afford their bills while working for their community. And for the dashers that would like to make it a full-time job would get the most use out of it,Profile they can explain what they’re single mom and then might have a two year old runaround with them but they’re willing and able to do the errands for them, or what not.
Pay is hardly ever worth the time. The company of door dash is doing extremely well, but dashers are paid little more than slave labor, especially after gas, insurance & vehicle wear & tear are calculated. It’s nice to have the option for some extra cash when needed, and I love that I can just log in & work whenever I want to, but they really need to pay at least double what they pay dashers. Regarding the new completion rate requirements, it really needs to be made much more clear in the offer screen how far away the drop off location is from the pickup location. I have unassigned myself from several deliveries immediately after accepting an offer because when I’m able to actually see how far the drive will be, it often doesn’t even cover the gas expense, and definitley doesn’t come close to compensating for the time. There are times when it has actually costs me more to deliver an order than I actually get paid. This negatively affects the completion rate. If they are going increase the completion rate requirement, they should also increase transparency on the offer screen so it’s easy to tell in the 20 seconds we have to make the decision, whether it’s actually worth it to accept. Accepting an order just to arrive at the restaurant and find out it’s closed also shouldn’t affect completion rate, but it does, even when you send a photo to prove that you aren’t lying.
THIS APP NEEDS REVIVING!!!. Used to enjoy driving as a dasher till everything started becoming customer based. Customers get free deliveries, coupons off orders and deliveries, don’t have to tip…the list goes on. I’ve called and have wrote many reviews expressing my feelings as a degraded driver and not much has seemed to change. Drivers are still treated as full time employees the way we’re held accountable for our acceptance rate and completion rating all while being given orders for $2 and change to $3 and change going many miles. Orders crossing town lines or even state lines sometimes for only a mere base pay and no tip. This is a service based app where real people are making real time deliveries using their gas and vehicles for customers who are free delivery and no tip, how is that fair?!! I’m not saying a giant gratuity should be added to every order, but an automatic one based off order size(what customer paid) would be VERY VERY appropriate, would make drivers feel rewarded and worth it again! The cash back on the dasher card is nice don’t get me wrong and the (+)pay orders is a nice new incentive, but maintaining an above 50% acceptance rate is very hard when there is no promos going and orders pour in for minimum base pay over and over. I’d hate to stop using the dasher app, but it’s either gonna come to that or I’m gonna be deactivated for poor acceptance rate and that isn’t right either. Sincerely with deep concerns, A fed up dasher
PLEASE BE AWARE. DoorDash has changed the pay on batched orders WITHOUT telling us drivers!!! It started sometime on July 20th. Since then they are batching orders and not paying the $2 per restaurant or $4 per shopping base pay on pay per off. PLEASE GO BACK AND LOOK AT ALL THE BATCHED ORDERS YOU HAVE COMPLETED since July 20th and I guarantee you’ve been shorted. After I completed a batched double order for 2 restaurants and 2 separate delivery addresses I was paid $4.06. That is including a $2 tip. So, they paid me $2.06 BASE PAY for the 2 separate pickups and deliveries. If we have a contract violation we could get fired, but THEY ARE IN CLEAR VIOLATION of the the contract at this point specifically the base pay agreement. Today was the 6th batch delivery I’ve had since the 20th that had been shorted. I checked my daily earnings reports and prior to July 20th all batched order were paid out correctly. It started July 20th sometime in the afternoon and they have been doing it to EVERYONE!!! I know it’s not just me!!! Please fellow Dashers, friends, coworkers - Call and complain!!! WE MUST STAND UP FOR OURSELVES!!! They already pay the bare minimum and now this? WITHOUT notifying us about the changes!?? THEY ARE STEALING OUR BASE PAY FROM UNDER OUR NOSES and they don’t care if we notice. Has anyone ever gotten paid $1.06 for a delivery? It’s violating the terms of their part of the agreement!!! PERIOD
Enjoy Dashing, 2 Wishes Though. I really enjoy dashing. The no tip customers exist in every industry, but doordash could for sure do more to balance the pay out for orders like that. $2.75 for a 12.4 mile order through the worst part of downtown Denver on a game day? That’s alarming and insulting. Overall though it’s very enjoyable to me. My biggest thing I would like to see in the future is the ability to choose which stores we can shop and deliver from. For example, i know the King Soopers and Walmarts in my area super well and could shop those orders easily on a timer, but since I don't frequent Dollar General or some other stores around here, I’m not comfortable being on a timer shopping there and won’t risk the acceptance rate ding for turning them down so I never put myself available for shop and deliver. If I could choose the stores I know and get in the algorithm for those orders only, I would turn it back on in a heartbeat. While I don't agree with the tier based orders, it was kind of nice having an in-app goal for myself for a week and seeing what I could really do. Update 11/4 : slashed the platinum dasher tier discount from 30% off up to $15 every week (what i have been receiving the past few weeks) to 30% off up to $10 every OTHER week. Just do away with the discount entirely and raise the base pay, this was just insulting.
Love the job but hate dealing with support services. I absolutely love dashing. I really really do. But to call support or anything besides from helping me close an order, they’re kind of pointless. I have had money stolen from me (dasherdirect but all the same) so I basically dashed for free a whole night. Then was penalized with a contract violation that has nothing to do with me. Then have my completion rate deducted for traffic accidents (which aren’t my fault) like being rear ended while I’m at a complete stop or having to change a flat tire. The continued avoidance of having a supervisor contact me for issues like orders just disappearing from my account after accepting them and it has affected my completion ratings immensely from 96% to 87%. i’m starting to wonder if supervisors even exist or if there’s really a specialized team that takes care of these things like open cases or system issues with the app that’s also affected a lot of top dashers. I do everything I possibly can to avoid contacting support because I can’t seem to talk calmly or patiently with them anymore about any issues that I need them to support me on. Most agents are just so focused on apologizing and not listening to any of the issues. with how things are being handled I no longer have any confidence that anything will ever get taken care of. I am so frustrated and aggravated that there is no one or anybody that can help with Dashers they have the same problems or even worse.
Can be better. DD needs a form of compensation. Had a double order that would total $13, accepted it, picked up one of the orders and then BOOM, the second one disappeared. Turns out it was canceled and I would still need to drive 7 miles for a delivery outside my zone only totaling a whopping,$7!!! Contacted doordash and the best they could do is tell me it wouldn’t affect my ratings. Obviously it won’t affect my ratings if that order just didn’t exist anymore and now I have to deliver the first order I already picked up, or else get punished for choosing not to because of how NOT WORTH it was. 14 miles for $7, in ILLINOIS, fun! DD does the bear minimum to compensate for distance, and I don’t know how but I swear they pay you less when someone decides to tip. Very misleading to the “You get to keep 100% of your tips” saying. DD: “Oh you’re total was $10 for a distance of 12miles one way? We’ll give you $2 base pay and the other $8 was their tip” people shouldn’t feel forced to tip an outragous amount on top of all the extra money they pay, just so it can guarantee their order to arrive on time or at all. Maybe people would order if they didn’t know all that. Also as a dasher, I don't know if I would order and The only time it feels like it’s worth dashing is when there is peak pay promos, which barely happen and if they do are at inconvenient hours.
Save yourself the headache. Don’t get me wrong the app itself is okay sometimes when they’re not having technical issues but believe me when I say this is you have a problem customer support is absolutely zero flippin help. This is week three story of a dasher countless emails calls chat supports supervisors and resolution teams I can’t even get into my account. I’ve had my account for almost three years about 3 months ago got reactivated and started to dash again only to receive a “login error” finally get through to support told the team will email me a day later contact again and this time I’ve been told I didn’t opt into a location privacy sharing contract on their end and countless other are dealing with this and they’re working diligently to get the accounts back “okay” we’ll next thing I know I still haven’t heard anything in a week contact again and now I’m being told there’s another person name on my account! Major issue my bank account and private info is on this app so what’s going on?! And guess what I get told I’ll hear back with the team about this and what do you know still nothing and here we are today two calls in trying to figure out what’s wrong and I’ve been told my accounts on the sign up process and I’m not active how does any of it make sense it doesn’t so save yourself your life and stress level before deciding to put your hopes into something like this only to be royally messed when you need help from them
System needs some work. For sure.. There are a lot of things I like about DoorDash. The opportunity, convenience, & ability to serve & help others who can’t get for themselves. But...From my very first order it seems I was set up for failure. Being sent to restaurants that often were as much as 10 min behind on an order being ready. More than half of those instances I was late delivering as I walked out of the restaurant or soon after. This is especially the case with double orders. Which means from the start I’ve had a low “on time” score. Not ok. Your algorithm for this stinks. Next. If a customer cancels an order after I accept it, or the restaurant cancels for some reason, it most definitely should NOT count as an incomplete on my score. Yet this is happening. Lastly. I’ve seen a lot of young dashers with friends and/or significant others in the car as company to hang out with while they dash. I’ve even had restaurant owners say something to me. I was under the impression this was frowned upon for safety reasons. But especially now..dashers should be warned against doing this since it violates the 6ft rule and puts your customers at risk. I’ve had quite a few restaurants in my area tell me this is a concern. These things above make those of us trying hard to do a good job look bad. As for the rest. The app is great. It’s an awesome opportunity. You asked for my opinion though so I’m being honest. I haven’t had a bad review on my service yet.
Could be better. I been dashing for a few months now and I honestly think the app could be so much better. Firstly, when two orders from the same place show up at once; we should be given the option to either accept all or accept one. I had a retail order that was more than half an hour away from my location but because I accepted the other order, I had to accept the long distance one too. Secondly, base pay is too low. $2-$3 is nothing especially considering the amount of wear and tear and gas you’ll be needing when working as a delivery driver. I believe it would be more fair to give a honest base pay plus tips of course. Third, there should be a mileage limit. Especially if I’m dashing in a certain area there is no reason I should be given the option for orders that are 10+ miles away. Of course I don’t have to accept them but it makes more sense especially if we’re choosing a select area to dash in. Lastly, for the dasher retail orders, we should be able to zoom in on the pictures or at least get clearer pictures. I’ve had a couple of times where I had to strain my eyes just so I could see the correct measurements on a product. Not to mention, these photos/ products should be up to date. If the company changed their packaging then DoorDash needs to include the picture of the correct packaging so there’s no confusion.
Horrible, withholds funds. I have never had a positive experience on this app, pay is barely worth the effort and every single time I have tried to withdraw money it gives me non stop issues, requiring me to call completely unhelpful costumer service reps who give zero solutions, weekly payout takes days longer than stated, every time I try to use instant payouts it states I haven’t signed up for it, despite doing so, and being approved 3 times at this point, most recently they tried to out my cash into a Doordash debit card(why on earth would I want my money anywhere other than my own bank account???) without even asking me, had to spend 30 minutes with a customer service rep(the first one hung up on me as soon as I stated the issue, obviously no one wants to deal with this issues others clearly have), just to get told I’ll get my money in a few business days, honestly close to just reporting them to the BBB, this is getting ridiculous, what is the point of using this app if they won’t even let me take out my funds. Frankly I don’t even understand why I have to go through a whole separate process to get approved for instant payouts in the first place, it goes to the same bank account, no other money transfer services requires you to go through a separate process with a whole week of waiting(waiting for what, exactly? Literally just put my card info in, that takes a few minutes to verify), clearly they’re just trying to stop you from getting money out
Unfair Business Model. Such a game changer in the beginning - gig work - but I feel this company is not transparent in their business models. Their customer service is terrible both for dasher and customer. None of them know what they are talking about they just read scripts and send you the same email over and over. If you live in an area where the customer base is limited they will not reduce the amount of drivers for the area, and forget getting a shift that isn’t 2am-5am on a Tuesday. This renders dashing unattainable for anyone who isn’t able to be a top dasher yet (you need 100 deliveries first, which is not possible if you can never get shifts to begin with). I think they need to go to a waitlist model like every single other gig work platform. If there are too many drivers in an area they shouldn’t be able to add more! It’s greedy and really shows the company doesn’t care about their drivers, who aren’t even employees anyway so they basically profit from workers who aren’t really compensated by the company itself. The market is over saturated with drivers and not enough customers ordering deliveries. I don’t blame them when door dash marks up the food prices almost 40% in some places! Plus all the fees are ridiculous, “expanded range” fee for living slightly outside a city center is laughable. Overall just disappointed with this company as a whole. Don’t do it unless you live in a large metro like Seattlle or San Fran. Not worth it if not.
Couple fixes. 1. When u have a dash scheduled, u should be able to reschedule it to any time. I guess it doesn’t allow if a dash is not needed at that time. But that’s not right, I still wanna dash in that time frame, but maybe need and extra 30 minutes before etc. if u have it scheduled from 10 am to 10 pm for example, I should be able to change it to 11 am to 10 pm, rather than having to delete it altogether and now my only option is 4-6 pm for example. Needs to be fixed 2. There’s too many times lately where dashers aren’t needed. Idrg the idea of not needing dashers anyway. That’s the name of the game, if u don’t get an order u don’t get an order that’s the risk of dashing, but to not allow me to dash if I wanna dash because u don’t feels it’s needed, is stupid, and then literally in 2 seconds an opening might appear, doesn’t make sense. Or if u have a certain amount of dashes you should qualify for “dash whenever”. The acceptance rate is a horrible way to decide that. Would u accept 10 orders in a row for $3 for 7 miles? Yea me neither, so because I’m smart I get penalized on the acceptance rate and now I’m not a top dasher? 3. No order should be blow $5, idc how short it is. There’s no excuse. It’s ridiculous, cuz yeah maybe it’s 1 miles drive, but did u factor if there’s a delay at the resteraunt? Delay with the customer? App problems? Now I’ve literally almost just made $3 for an hour or 45 minutes? Yea I’m exposing lol 4. That’s it for now
Inconsistent and Inconvenient. It has potential, but the real issue here is that even though you are working in an assigned area, they often take you up to 20 miles outside of your service area, then you cannot pick up another order until you drive back into your service area. Beyond that if you try to cancel an order that takes you this very far distance, you get dinged for cancellation. So you may have to except an order that will only pay you $1.50, which won’t even cover your gas to get all the way out there and back. At that point you need to hope that the merchant actually has the food ready, or you could theoretically be making less than five dollars per hour. This is probably an example of about 30% of the routes. The other 50%, DoorDash doubles up much of the earnings, leaves you with a tiny amount of pay, and the remaining 20% are very close by but don’t expect to make much because it is very close by. Then there’s dealing with customer support when something happens like they send you to a closed restaurant, or the restaurant is taking 20 or more minutes beyond the estimate. At that point the customer likely will not tip you as much, even if you do reach out to them and let them know of the issue. DoorDash customer service will typically give you the response that they will work with you to make it right, but they never really do in the end. You can expect next to nothing out of them, and it will likely even damage your reputation.
Needs major improvements. Let me start off by saying that DoorDash pays way better than uber! That’s the main reason for my 3 star. HOWEVER! It needs to improve the way it pays out its drivers. Uber only charges .50 cents for instant payout while doordash charges $1.99 and I’ve added my card several times and I still don’t have an option for instant pay. They really need to work on fixing this. Another thing is I don’t know if it’s a slow month or not but they are hardly sending any orders, I’m a 5 star top performer and I’m out driving and receive little to no orders, for that reason I have been doing uber because I cannot afford to be out driving and wasting my gas. Please note that I always go during dinner so no it’s not because I’m going during non-busy hours!! Almost all fast-food locations should be removed from doordash, we don’t have time to wait over 15 minutes in the drive-thru, we lose money when we end up having to wait for the order, I wish doordash would understand this. The fast food locations I have the most issues with are POPEYES #1, BURGER KING, WENDYS, AND MCDONALDS. PLEASE REMOVE THEM OR DEMAND THEM TO OPEN THEIR DINING ROOM FOR PICK-UPS OR CHARGE CUSTOMERS AN EXTRA FEE FOR PICKING UP FROM FAST-FOOD CHAINS. And lastly, tip should be a requirement, there’s no way I’m going to drive over 5 miles for $2-$5 order, that is just a no! The minimum tip should be AT LEAST $3 and even then I will consider accepting the order.
App needs alerts for Restricted Area Deliveries. I live near a military base and if you don’t have a pass to get on base you cannot get passed the gate. As it stands now, there is no alert or warning or flag of any kind to let you know that the next delivery is going to take you to a restricted area. This can create a situation where you find yourself with a delivery that you can’t even get close enough to the address for it to let you move forward within the app. The only solution was to call the help desk and have them clear the order from their end. Also, it’s unfortunate that if you decline any deliveries (for any reason, even one such as this) your rating goes down- even if you MUST decline a delivery because it’s in a restricted area. There is no recourse, currently, for that penalty. Besides this, I realize it is an quasi-uncommon situation, the app worked great! The app makes the job a breeze in all other cases. However, beware that when you first use it, there are a couple quirks that are not very intuitive... for instance, when you reach your pickup destination using the in-app navigation, you MUST hit the exit button to move ahead in the process to confirm the pickup (that one took me a sec and a few trips circling the restaurant to figure out). Overall, it’s a great way to earn some extra cash for a student/parent like myself. Excellent flexibility and earning potential- especially if you like driving and are self-motivated 😏. Good Luck and Stay Safe 😎
Not user friendly. DoorDash does NOT let the drivers Dash on there own schedule! Drivers are forced to catch an open time slot on the app’s schedule and that’s if the driver can ever see the open times available to schedule, a week in advance, due to the time ( 3pm or 12am , now unsure) when the schedule becomes available. They have what they call “Top Dasher” of the month, which becomes available to drivers that hold a high rating, however to become a Top Dasher with a high rating means a driver has to except all orders assigned to them, 12 mile or more deliveries for just the base pay sometimes because customers get a free trial for 30 days therefore they don’t tip. Also DoorDash drivers are now forced to shop then make the delivery, on the same low base pay. Doordash has become greedy due to other apps, that offer higher base pay and tip, that requires shopping and delivery. Doordash isn’t “”DoorDash”” anymore! And drivers should not be rated on friendliness by the customer, drivers are working drivers are not trying to make friends! And customers are rude, needy, don’t give good directions, and they don’t tip….. with the timer running (ratings), heat, store employees, and traffic, all of these factors on the Drivers, and the customer ( who puts in there notes “ leave at the door “, AKA: I’m not tipping) get the opportunity to rate “ Friendliness “ of the driver? Come on, really? Nope, DoorDash only gets 1 star rating, DoorDash is not a good side gig, DoorDash is lie.
App update. The current app update is not favorable to dashers that drive at night. Talking about drivers safety, an example is i am dasher that worked from 6:00 PM to about 12:30 AM, that being able to contact the customer in time of delivery is a risk that I consider. I often get deliveries to places either it’s pitch dark, no house number or just in the middle of no where. Not being able to contact the customer poses a more risk when delivering at night, just parked in the middle of nowhere, waiting after I texted the customer , or I contacted customer service and was told for three minutes is just a waste of time and risky. I had an experience before that I pulled into someone’s drive way knowing that the guides me to the right house , all I heard was someone engaging a shot gun, I reverse so fast that I was so worried of getting shot at. From that time I have learned to call the customer and make sure that I have permission to enter his drive way and to ensure that I am on the right house , sometime I deliver to ranch houses in Alpine, CA that have a long driveway before you get closer to the house . I am feel more confident delivering and being able to talk to the person receiving his or her order. The current app update not being able to talk to customer especially delivering at night past 10:00 PM poses risk to the customer, or dropping off an order to the wrong house just like what happened tonight.
I’m a dasher. I’m writing this review in hope that the customers see it cause I see a lot of you complaining about missing food items and that’s not our fault as drivers when we pull up to get y’all food it’s already bagged and sealed to go out that’s not our problem you missing food we just drivers then on top of all that most of y’all be far away and don’t tip at all I had to drive 23 mins away for a $2 tip and it was base pay y’all keep saying it’s not worth ordering from door dash but we us drivers starting to feel it’s not worth delivering for y’all , nobody is tipping, y’all not paying for our gas I live in Chicago gas almost $5 a gallon and I accept every request so I can make ends meet, stop blaming us for missing food and stuff like that cause it’s not our problem then y’all say y’all rather order from the restaurant itself then do that then cause ain’t no restaurant bout to bring your food to your door if u living in a building or none of that and they gone tell you your delivery fee , it be people that’s young requesting delivery in hand , hand it to me living in buildings with 50 floors nothing wrong with em and to top it off no tips every time I complete my mission it’s never no tip from customer and I no I speak for all drivers big facts
Simple, Convenient, and Honest.. I work for three different on demand companies, or apps, and DoorDash was always my favorite one to work with. I absolutely love that there is now a Debit card for dashers to be paid, DAILY, I am impatiently waiting to receive mine! The only things that I would suggest are being able to know more about the mileage you’ll be driving when accepting an order, and the road conditions (if paved or stone, pot holes, hilly, etc.) another is customers are still able to text you after you have marked a delivery completed, I’m not very comfortable with that, although DoorDash hides your number, it is still aggravating when you are trying to delivery your next order and you have the previous customer texting or calling your phone. I also wish Dashers had discounts for the apparel and car accessories on the Stores website. I think it would be a pretty cool idea to have local Dashers in the different areas to get together for meetings, that are not mandatory, for things like advice on being a Dasher, practicing possible delivers, and fun delivery games! That may also help keep us Dashers to stay motivated and want to Dash more! Thank you for this opportunity, I think this was an amazing idea!
LETS SEE….. I enjoy doing dashes whenever I have time. It’s fun checking out the restaurants that people order from, and looking at the menu. I make a decent amount off dash and I like doing it. Recently reached rankings of being one of the top dashers so I get higher paying deliveries which is nice! But…. The worst deliveries are the ones on base. I don’t have a pass and it takes a while to get a temporary one. That by the time I deliver the food it’s no longer fresh. PLEASE show or have some kind of indication that it’s a bass access delivery! People who order sometimes put it in the notes but we can’t see it till after picking up the order! I stoped for a while because it does put a lot on the car. Then I started getting promotion emails. First for $75 then for $200. Completed the 25 deliveries for $200. Told to wait 5 business days to see it on my account. Ok… waited 5 days to contact them again, just to be told to wait another 5 days!? Don’t send out promotional emails like this if you don’t want to pay up when it’s completed! False advertisement! Glad I took screen shots of everything. Also gas and car maintenance ain’t cheap! ***will edit this rating later if I receive the promotion/ bonus.*** ****Edit**** Almost a month of waiting… had to go through a lot of hassles finally got threw to management and got my pay out! Thank you!!
Door Dasher. Been a door dasher since End of September 2024. The feeling is flat, gives you your money same day. Driver support is very helpful, app is easy to use. Cant really start when you want, have to wait for orders and drive far to the red zones to get offers before they disappear. Out of 2 months i got $2 more in a $4 order Door dash payed $2 customer $2, was 45min in total to get to the restaurant and drive to customer which drives you 30min away from red zone on each deliver and one tipped me $10 more, that customer was very generous it was a $8.75 drive for 35minutes, Door Dash payed$2.75 the rest was customer, sometimes DD pays $5 and customer $5, sometimes DD pays $5 and customer $2. Door Dash doesn't really pay drivers much, they pay $2 mostly and max is $5, the rest is customer tip any extra tip is because customer tipped extra, not because Door Dash payed you the total you see on the screen. I did today on thanksgiving 79miles for $29, Wednesday was 117miles for $130 because of the 2 extra tips, Tuesday was $70 for 96miles. I filled my tank $76 on Tuesday and have to refill today Thursday. Door Dash does not pay per mile, nor trip. Per hour is pointless if there is no order with in that hour, im sure by bike you make leg, but not very much seen by DD company either. Im not sure if other people count or measure thats why their reviews are great. But if they sat down to count it would make more sense to everyone. But besides that, the feeling is basic.
My thoughts. First night I made close to $20 for 3 deliveries. Not so bad. However, some people are horrible with instructions. What they tell you makes perfect sense in their head but when you get there it doesn’t make sense. Another thing is, while I was closing an order out another immediately popped up and the app automatically accepted it making the person think I was ready to take their order! Right after that happened the app closed and wouldn’t open back up after closing it, reinstalling it, and resetting my iphone nothing worked I basically waited for 40 minutes and decided to go home. Nearly 20 minutes after I got home the app decided it wants to work again.. I open the app back up and what do you know? The same order which popped up & accepted itself was just sitting there. So I cancelled and told support what happened. And by the way the order was 45 minutes away from where I live! No. Other than that if customers would.. I don’t know.. LEAVE A TIP that would nice. I always left my dashers $5-$10 tips because they go out their way to get your stuff & also if customers would put the effort in to be more accurate with instructions that would be nice too. Just my thoughts.
Not sure how to title this....nor rate at this time. Very frustrated & disappointed to wake up this morning & find my account deactivated stating I have committed referral fraud in which have absolutely no clue in how I could have possibly done this. I have only sent out a referral email & one on Facebook each once to my personal email contacts & FB personal friends/acquaintances thru DoorDash link provided in this specific app... how does that go against the rules? I have put in my appeal along with then sent an email back once receiving an email stating that they received my appeal & that I could respond to that specific email & once I did that I got a “delivery failure”stating I may not be in that group allowed to post in or the group was removed... I do not feel I have done anything against any rules/wrong whatsoever & have only done 2 days worth of deliveries & just got a bit more comfortable & was getting more excited to the opportunity to make the extra much need funds. I’m just a simple single mother trying to make ends meet not anything by no means excessive or wrong but was looking forward to for example the $20 bonus challenge given only needed 4 more deliveries to achieve it & had 2 days to achieve & if I can’t get reactivated in time I am going to lose out over something I don’t feel was my fault. Not to mention feel embarrassed for it being considered fraud....that’s an awful strong accusation...

Not easy to use. Dasher is good app for make good money in short time. But There are bugs in this app I have seen. When schedule time start and I ALREADY sign in, I get text message notification after 15 minutes every time that “you scheduled yourself to start dashing 15min ago. Your dash will automatically end if you don't sign in soon!” We have to check frequently “Dash now” in enable or not because There is no any notification and sound for this. When schedule time starts, There is no any changes in app, as well as we don’t do ‘Dash now’, so what should I do next?. So these is not user friendly. Need improvement.
Not worthy. I have scheduled my dash today for 1 hours but something is glitchy on app so i just do the relaunch the app and they show me is my schedule is ended . I talk with agents they said that it will never happen again . And after that i have scheduled my dash for 2:00pm to 9 pm and i got the message from their side is “ Hey Happy! You've scheduled yourself to start dashing in 30 minutes!” And again when i have tried to dash again so that time I am little far from my dashing location and go to that location again the application glitches and here I tried as per their statements on first time after saying sorry for issue they said to if you will have any problems like this uninstall and reinstall it but 5 march 2022 I have wasted my half of the day. So , please don’t think that doordash is helpful for extra money. I have very bad experience and dissatisfied with doordash. I am here giving them one star for my previous deliveries. Please, Don’t do this things because we are not happy. VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.
Absurdist doordash. Hello, My account was deleted because of some reasons . But I was new to this areas and some times I find my self stuck in traffic where I was 10 minutes late so to avoid bad customer ratings some times I declined the delivery and some time the store here tales hours to prepare delivery, in that case what other choice I have. Is it fare to wait for 55 minutes for $5 delivery?? On top of that doordash doesn’t give any waiting charge then how would anyone will wait there, telling driver about now below 90% completion rate is just like forcing them to do any low delivery. I was trying to increase the completion rate little by little, but doordash kept giving me the unfair delivery, 15$ for 30kms??????? I don’t have any screenshots as I didn’t know that My account will get deactivated. At last of not just give me account for 1 hour, I want to download my pay slips documents for tax purposes. Thanska you, and if this will bot help I will definitely go to fair work Australia. Thanks you
Continuously receiving activation for redcard. In Australia dashers do not need red cards according to the Doordash website. However, there is this constant interruption I have with this window popping up in my app to activate it. I don’t know how many times they need to hear it. Tonight, I spoke to 5 different people about the same thing & each one passed me on to the next support person which wasn’t helping. It’s very very frustrating because no-one has the authority to fix it. This last fiasco cost me a whole nights work. Support needs to be better trained to handle any immediate disruption that arises. Doordash also needs the chat more accessible for dashers whether they are on a live order or not. Life is busy & we are all busy. The biggest thing I’ve found that Doordash is they don’t respond to emails. If they send an automated email saying they will respond within the next day or two then they should stick by that.
Confusing, unnecessarily strict on deliveries. This app compared to other food delivery apps is so convoluted. Having to exit maps and then hit arrive, the text messages you get for orders, the “zones” are the most annoying, have to pick a zone and then stay in that zone unless you pull over end dash and start another again to pick a different zone! Getting an order that takes you out of zone ( which you a nearly every order) and then you have to drive back to the zone, so much mess around and complicated for no reason. I much prefer the easier delivery apps that just give you delivery opportunities based on your location at the time of order
Worst App to use as a driver. I use menulog Uber and Doordash. But the Doordash app is the worst of them all. I don’t even know where to start. Firstly if you get a trip you not seeing the route. It’s so zoomed in you see someone’s backyard that’s it. Till you stop and zoom out the timer is run to zero and you missed it. Then there are the notifications. They are non existent. They rely on the messaging app but if you have a spam filter it won’t happen. Also the whole interface is so fiddly it is impossible to use, if you want to pause your dash it takes you ages. With gloves it is impossible. If I could give it 0 stars I would. It is very frustrating.
Horrible pay. I opened an account on dasher to multi app with uber, and after a few deliveries I am appalled by the low pay. I received so many requests over 4 km that only paid $5. I ride a bicycle, and for comparison I get paid $7 for 1.5 km trips on uber and have never been paid less than $6 unless it’s under 1 km. Sure, there are more requests on dasher, but it’s not worth the distance and time and especially not worth the immensely disproportionate pay. The bonuses on dasher are laughable, only +$1 per order. The app is also problematic, not letting me push down the info tab so I can actually see the map, it’s also set in miles and there is no setting to change it to km. I also get an sms every time there is a request which is annoying. The map system in the dasher app is also inaccurate. I decline many orders that I find unrealistic, and as a result get less requests. Maybe if the pay wasn’t a joke, I would accept more. I know that for consumers doordash is generally cheaper than uber eats, and I can see how getting more orders from doordash can be better than waiting on uber, but it simply isn’t practical for bicycles; accepting far orders that take 30 minutes and an additional 30 minute surge back to my comfortable waiting area is not efficient. If I had a car or motorcycle, maybe I would still consider dasher, but even then I don’t know how profitable it would be when put up against fuel and maintenance costs with low pay.
Great extra income but…. The app is simple and easy to use, straight forward instructions and clearly tells you how much you will earn. The support team are prompt and helpful, how ever there are a few bug fixes needed. The in app navigation is often wrong. Taking me the wrong way or to the wrong address & expecting me to walk across busy streets or alley ways instead of just guiding me to the correct address. Another issue is going to pick up orders that have been picked up by other delivery companies, this has happened more than once or twice. Stores advise they have been getting multiple drivers trying to collect and whilst chat support is helpful, it is annoying.
Not a driver friendly application. Today I started to deliver an order which is 8km from the restaurant. I went to the delivery location showing in the maps(In app) where I couldn’t find the address and called the customer, then customer told me I am very far away from their location. I have double checked the address in the app which doesn’t have an house number due to which app took me to a different location. I have travelled a total 16kms to deliver one single order. I have reached support regarding the same they 0% interest in neither solving the issue. Finally, the worst part of this is app tracks the time perfectly and raise a contract violation alert immediately. The least I would expect is to train your support team to get as much data as they can to replicate the issue and find the root cause and avoid future instances rather than blaming it on drivers and deactivating their accounts.
3 Month ongoing App error that I can’t get any help with fixing. I have dashed for a year now and the app is now not letting me for 3+ months I have been trying to get help solving it and I’m not getting the help I need they keep sending and giving me the troubleshooting help which if it worked I would not have had to keep asking for help again and they say they call me no one does. They put a temporary fix that works for like 24hours and then broken again - I just want the app fixed and some actual IT/App support the call centre troubleshooting isn’t fixing the problem and this is just becoming a joke now! The app usually pretty good otherwise and the caller centre support is helpful to a point but this is obviously an issue that requires further action and I would I like to speak to someone else for help. I even had Apple look in to my phone and it’s coding or software and everything to see if it was the phone it self and it’s all fine nothing wrong with the phone.
Worst support ever. I don’t usually rate any app but this I feel like I had enough with this that’s why I don’t want anyone else to go through this. THE TERRIBLE SUPPORT EVER. They will promise to resolve the issue within the time limit e.g 24 hour but never get back to you even after 24 days and If you try contacting them then they will try their best to ruin your day. They don’t have any training whatsoever for how to actually resolve the issue they will always share some random faqs email or link without even listening or understanding the problem. On the top of that they will end a long waited call or live chat at any random point in the middle of the conversation. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Secondly the app or the so called “system” is full of bug. It sometimes allocate you the job and won’t show up in the app to accept it and when you missed the opportunity it will affect your rating and you will get even less orders like 2 orders in the 12 hours shift. Or sometimes it will show you that the address of pickup or drop off is nearby hence the fare would be less but then out of no where address gets change which will be 6-8 kms away from the original location but you still get paid the initially offered fare. Other than that app crashes while accepting orders, if the order is delayed by the restaurant then it will also affect the dasher rating, and so on I would say save yourself some real trouble by staying away from being dasher.
SCAMMERS - unlawful do not become a dasher. The door dasher Company deliberately does not pay GST on drivers accounts where your ABN is registered. Even though they know it’s the law. Because they heavily rely on people who cannot earn more than $75,000 as a deliver driver they try to scam you. I am get registered and they refuse to pay the gst. They do not pay GST. This is illegal in Australia and I highly recommend anyone who wants to become a Door Dash Driver in Australia to join our class action that we will be doing because DoorDash is not legally following the taxation laws in Australia. If you have an ABN that is GST registered you are legally required to charge them. DoorDash has to pay the GST on top of your delivery income if you are GST REGISTERED. This is a big scamming company and they refuse to take any support calls regarding the matter. DO NOT JOIN DOIR DASHER AS A DRIVER. THEY ARE UNLAWFUL.
Worst app. Worst worst delivery app They won’t pay you for waiting time at restaurant They always threaten you by low ratings and account deactivation The worst DoorDash app maps takes you to wrong location when you enter the restaurant or customer address with in the DoorDash app and worst is DoorDash customer service people who can’t speak English properly threaten you in harsh voice grow up man be professional when talking as customer service person They will deactivate your account by email without any warning so I appeal all the driver not to use DoorDash app instead use Uber Menulog which way better and dignified which gives the driver’s respect and dignified value to drivers
Not good enough for use. I was to think that with the popularity of DOOR DASH, that Dasha app would be really good, but unfortunately it isn’t. First of all I would like to have the opportunity to choose whether I would like to do two deliveries or one delivery in one go, instead I’m forced to take to otherwise have a bad rating if I don’t accept it. I personally don’t like to do two orders because half the time I’m waiting for the second order to be prepared while the first one sitting in my car getting cold. And the price for 2 doesn’t add up to 1 order so getting ripped off… Also having problems with arriving to restaurant when the Order is half an hour off being ready I have to waste half an hour of my time waiting when I could be doing other deliveries I think there should be some sort of time put on there for when the order needs to be picked up closer to when it will be ready. The other problem I have encountered is the maps with the app it doesn’t collaborate with the real addresses, on multiple occasions I have gone to a restaurant with the address that DOOR DASH gave me and it’s completely wrong causing me to have issues and delay in people‘s food. Definitely needs more work!
Sought your app out. Seriously your app is a joke. So many bugs - glitching hard between orders and constantly pausing itself several times. Specially with the current $8 every 4 deliveries, except I can’t get through 4 deliveries without being constantly kicked out of the app and being ‘offline’ with the several texts saying ‘we tried to send you an order’, then I lose my delivery streaks. Honestly I feel sorry to those who rely on this app as a sole income. This is pathetic. Fix your app and you better be reinstating everyone delivery status and reimbursing us for missed deliveries at the cost of this god awful app. Unfortunately I can’t give any less than 1 star.
Doordash vs Ubereat vs Menulog Personal experience. Door dash Pro: 1. Highest base pay 2. Suitable map adoption Con: 1. Worst time management system among the three- you could wasted 40 minutes on one order using DoorDash. However, for Menulog you get delay compensation. Ubereats has the best time track system, you rarely wait for Ubereats order 2. Stupid zone system - I don’t who designed the zone system of the DoorDash, the zone system of the DoorDash is based on the starting point not the destination, which means you may travel to a place that is 10-20 minutes away from your starting point. As a result, you will need to drive back to your zone to receive orders. 3. Not many DoorDash restaurant partners - you only get orders during peak hours. Probably 10 orders pay day. However, you could get 30-40 Ubereats orders per day. 4. Lowest hourly pay, although the base pay is good, but you will waste at least 5-10 minutes on each orders you received from DoorDash dues their terrible time management system. Conclusion: Not recommended
App doesn’t work. I have deleted app and reinstalled multiple times but the app just doesn’t work. It constantly takes you to the page of doing the course which I have completed already multiple times. When I log on it asks to update personal details but within a second it’s taking me back to the online course again without time to key in address… my partner is having exactly the same issue… how can this be fixed? I have searched online but nothing has worked. I also received emails asking to complete personal details otherwise my account will be deactivate but there is no way to do it through the app when it’s broken!
Dash Now, location matters!. The Dash Now times and schedules are totally dependent on orders coming in from the area you’re working from. If you’re working in a regional area you won’t get that many job opportunities, anytime, any day. Your location determines how often you can dash. If you’re in a big city with a large population, great, you’ll always have jobs but not in small town or a regional area. In regional areas you’ll be lucky to get jobs even at peak times, especially if there are too many dash drivers around in those times. Location matters!
Below par Pay rates. I worked for DoorDash for almost 8 months, completing over 750 deliveries. Initially, DoorDash offered better pay rates for drivers. However, the current pay rates, even for Coles orders, are below par compared to other delivery services. Additionally, requiring Australian driver's licenses from new migrants, especially international students, is unfair as they may struggle to afford the license. DoorDash needs to address these issues. Despite these concerns, I must commend DoorDash for their good customer service support, they respond promptly to delivery drivers' calls and messages.
navigate to google maps. I am using an apple phone while doing my delivery for DoorDash. I have set up my navigation program to not to go through toll and saved in to my phone. But when I get a order from DoorDash and click directions and when it goes on to google maps to direct me it cancel all the settings I do and just takes me through every road. Is there a problem with DoorDash app?
restaurant is closed. 1 — yesterday i went to pick up food from Macdonals then they said to me we currently not doing dordash orders so i canceled this order and i chose closed restaurant from the reason menu i didn’t get money fore that waste of time and fuel after 3 order same think happened with hangry jacks . today i got same thing with 2 other restaurants . uber eats is better app it never happened like this to me . 2– i was going to drop food to customer the traffic was heavy after i arrived late 20min then dropped off i received contact violation on my app witch wasn’t my fault unlike uber instead of giving contact violation it pay delay and waiting fee .
Feedback Dasher. Pay rates are extremely TOO Low. There is zero consideration for traffic congestion in a City, or School Zones or the Price of petrol in NSW OR any allowance for Coles Shop & Deliver TRYING to find a CAR PARK in the Shopping centre car parks, then having to walk into the Centre & get a trolley & then try to find items that aren’t properly listed in the correct aisle eg for bakery & breads often not in the bakery but in aisle 2 instead! The time factor for unavailable items is not considered either & then we have to Put ALL the items through register then pay & pack them & take out to carpark outside shopping centre & then take the trolley back & then drive to customer & then unpack ALL the bags & carry to front door!!!! Up stairs, driveways etc etc NOT worth the pay rates!!! Coles Click & Collect they make you wait for FAR too long which costs us money waiting!!!
Hand it to me deliveries error. deliveries marked with “Hand It To Me” by customer always result in errors if you have to complete the delivery when the customer is not available. I always get an error message saying something like “we are really busy, try again in a few seconds” Also there needs to be an option to complete “hand it to me” deliveries with a photo as yiu have no proof that the food was dropped off and people have tried to scam doordash twice saying they didn’t get their orders when I have handed it to them. Also I don’t know if I am doing something wrong but the flash does not work with the app. I have to carry a torch around to complete deliveries that are left at the door at night. Update. Base pay for deliveries has dropped as well as the base pay for adding a second delivery. The second delivery takes you way out of your zone and would usually pay 3 times what they offer you when you add it as a second delivery. Because the base pay has dropped so much be aware that double deliveries are paying less than some single deliveries. Many times I have seen a delivery pop up and the pay wasn’t that great but I accepted it anyway only to find out that it was 2 deliveries. Not that common now to be making $10 an hour.
Request feature. Loving the app, but can the developer add a confirmation button on "Resume Dash" and "End Dash" while on Pause.. A lot of times as a driver myself accidentally press the "End Dash" if i switch tab on the apps on my phone. Psychologically If I'm already Earning let say $87 and the dash end and I can see on my dashboard $0 earning again. It makes me feel not to go dash again because I could feel like it would take a lot of trips before I can hit my goal $200. Does it make sense?
Get a real job, don’t waste your time!. The money on here is absolutely not worth the time and resources you put in. You regularly get bad directions, horrible pay, unreasonable pick up locations and customer demands and you have every refusal and late delivery logged on your record and impacting your rating, regardless of any valid reasons you might have for them. For example, the app will send you to a crowded shopping centre car park and just count that as you arriving- does it take you ten minutes to find a park, only to discover the staff there haven’t finished the order yet when you arrive? Tough, your problem not Doordash’s. I use this app occasionally between work shifts but there is no way that anyone using this app for their main source of income is going to make anything close to minimum wage unless they are extremely tactical about it and “Dash” only during peak hours and bonus pay periods, which runs contrary to the whole “work when you want” flexibility narrative they promote themselves with.
My experience like dasher. I am writing my review depending on my experience like a dasher. I started with doordash and I faced many challenges like the map is not accurate, addresses Wrong, network in some areas not covered. In general I love to work with a dasher but we don’t haven’t right with them. I received many orders put me in risk in areas without service and dark at night with not that much worth of money, some orders if u can’t find the place because the map couldn’t find it take more than the time we need to do it . Unfortunately doordash doesn’t give dasher to refuse and their system threatened us about our rates. So sad we’re doing the best we can and u be top dasher and they treat u like who’s taking delivery for fun. I lost my car twice and I be in danger many times because I can’t refuse orders. Recently if u count how many hours we’re working the rate hour be $15 most of times and this is not acceptable. I wish the people who established doordash be more fair for the delivery people. We’re taking all the risks and they’re sitting behind desks and no rights for us.
Worst food delivery company for its drivers. This is a company which punish its drivers by releasing infringement notices for being late but doesn’t pay for waiting at the restaurant. I waited 25 minutes at the restaurant for food, unable to cancel as it will cause decline in acceptance rate and received a few bugs. They never pay for extra waiting time but will punish you for getting late. They even can block account. Their many of the support agent doesn’t bother to reply for the issues. One day I have to wait for 40 minutes to make one of the closed store deliveries cancel. 5 out of the 6 support agent started the chat and then never replied for minutes. This is not a good company for the drivers. If u get chance use either uber or menulog, they pay you if you will for waiting extra minutes.
My experience. what I’ve gathered over the past year or so is that it’s not worth driving if it isn’t peak pay. I get $5-7 per order whilst most of the time it’s going up multiple flights of stairs or halfway across my town. You earn more with shop and deliver which is pretty good pay usually $11 depending on how many items but peak pay you can earn $20 or more for shop and deliver. The worst part about this job is dasher help, ANYTIME I message about an issue they either don’t help and end chat OR they reply and instantly reply “I haven’t heard from you for a while so I’m ending chat” which is an automatic response and end chat INSTANLY. Another bad factor is that they love to put busy or very busy in a area that isn’t busy at all as I’ve been in hotspots and don’t get orders for more then an hour so clearly not busy, or they put hotspots at stores that aren’t even open yet in the morning.
Exploit driver. Bad business model 1/ Distance showing in app does not reflect the true distance. Doordash wants you to go 4km for 5.5 Aud. It takes 20-25 min for 5.5 Aud. 2/ Dash support does not help. The support callers are nice but Doordash policy only wants driver bear all costs if sth bad happen 3/ In the beginning, they entice new drivers with promotions. Soon, they cut all promotions. 4/ Long waiting time at restaurant and dashers have to wait. 5/ Doordash wants drivers to protect it from regulations in Australia by asking drivers to do petitions. Nevertheless, Doordash does nothing to help or protect drivers. 6/ Customers rating mean nothing. Since customers only pay few bucks for delivery, they often give 5 stars. 7/ App often crashes. 8/ They call us to check why we dont move to customers; yet when drivers need them, it takes 20 minutes to resolves 1 problem. Drivers have to take that cost.
Bugs. I’ve been working 9months for doordash. That’s the first time ever I rate an app but that’s my last hope to get my problem solved. When I try to put my phone number on the app it says that it’s not a valid number in my country (which it is). Everytime I arrive at the customer’s adress and I have to call him I have to ask the customer service to telle the customer that I’m downstairs because my number is not associated to my account ... It makes me lose so much time... The customer service is so slow even through the live chat sometimes they don’t understand simple things such as « can u please call the customer for me and tell him I’m downstairs my phone number is not associated and I can’t do it myself ». They reply sometimes after 3min « what’s your name ? » or « what order » as if they couldn’t know it 😭 The app never makes any song when u have a new delivery and you’re on the phone and it affects your acceptance rate. I have received that if my acceptance rate reaches 50% my account will be desactivated. Some buttons are impossible to touch reach despite that I have an iPhone X it’s like if the app si not suitable. For example I can’t click on « impossible to find the customer » which is a very important one. So many times the restaurant didn’t know that they had a delivery and you are the one who tell them by coming at the restaurant. So they start the delivery only after u coming ... Please increase your budget for the IT and the customer service
App. The application has been very good, the attention is incredible, but I would like it to be able to solve the problem with the location since with this new update it is not redirecting the addresses properly to Google Maps so it has had to be put manually. Also on the other hand, as a dasher, I would like them to give the dashers a percentage of the delivery when they are in the process of picking up since in some stores they take a long time with the delivery and you have to wait more than expected or also finally you have to cancel the order because they have not even started it or are still in the process, so time is wasted and leaves the possibility of not making enough deliveries so it is quite demotivating... it would be a good idea if they adopted that recommendation for future updates and in the same way the challenges of so many orders an extra. Thank you very much for your attention
Worst application i have ever seen. The worst business stratagey doordash is literally favour to merchants. There is no time management, merchants will delay the delivery for 25 minutes but driver will get assigned that delivery at the same time with merchant if the drive arrive early merchants will shout on the drivers and make them wait if we wait too long our rating will get affected. Fairs are really very bad. Driver should have freedom to decile order if it is not worthy to him, declining order should not effect driver acceptance rate it should be affected when the dasher decline 2 to 3 orders continues. Rating should change 0.05 per rating decreasing or increasing should be in the same value. Order should assigned to dasher according to the merchants acceptance and delay time. Better change the customer service to some other those who can understand better English. It’s taking lot of time with customer care once we call to customer care for any issue it takes atleast 30 minutes time waste to make them understand worst customer service. App works really worst some times it shows jason objects as a developer i know the issue what ever the error it should not display on the app. Merchants are really frustrated with doordash and showing that frustration on dashers by insulting them and asking them to do what they want.
Not paying correctly, and not paying me at all. UPDATE: DoorDash very seemingly doesn’t give a donkey about its workers, the FastPay is incredibly unstable. I’ve attempted 4 times to withdraw and it has failed. You can only use FastPay once a day. So imagine the joy when it doesn’t work four days in a row. It’s better if they didn’t even advertise their system with how often it doesn’t work. (Also the Cards Details, the Bank, they aren’t the problem. It’s a bad system from DoorDash) Original: I never give 1 Star Reviews unless it’s something that’s so egregiously wrong. I realised that while dealing with one issue that the App wasn’t giving me the Promos whatsoever and I’ve been picking up jobs which are paying much less than other drivers. The main issue though is despite the fact that I’ve worked countless hours, your FastPay System decided to fail and now I have to wait 24 Hours for your mistake. How about have a better direct line of communication with your Third Payment System so I don’t have to be left with almost no money because a technical error on your end. Disgraceful.
Confirm bank details (ID). I had the issue off confirm my ID to receive payment for several days. I had to call the line for delivery's (phone number) and they couldn’t figure out what the issue was after explain my issue several times. I think it was an IOS problem Becouse when I used my mums phone (Samsung) it worked. I think it’s a bug. Other then that. I’ve really enjoyed the delivery’s and the work. Other issue is the time should be a little more realistic for those on a bike instead of car. Not all off us have super powered legs and push ourself up hills with super speed.
In ios shows my account deactivated. When i m trying to login in iOS devices its showes ur account have been deactivated but i login in my previous device on andriod it will worked fine and my account status is on active…. I have call doordash support still they were not helped me out to login in iOS devices they said ur account is active that’s problem in on ur iOS device…does any one guide me helpout please
Terrible app. Starting with the fact that this app is full of bugs and errors when it was asking me for an USA document while working in AUSTRALIA shows the level of incompetence and lack of interest for making it better. Aside of it, if you want to work with them, keep in mind that for delayed orders due to the restaurant’s fault won’t compensate you, not even if you wait over an hour, you’ll probably keep the $5 rate. Use Uber instead, it’s way better and the customer service actually helps instead of being there to say “wait or cancel the order”. And I won’t even talk about the terrible pay rates per km. Do not rely on this app for making your earnings.
Bugged. It will just do nothing. While sms messages received. Interface is screwy no accept screen is shown. Even if closing reopening app does not work. Exact SMS: 1: New Order: Go to Coles 2: You have a new order! Please press 'Accept Order' or the order will be removed from your app. 3: You didn't confirm this delivery in time. We've removed it from your app. If you'd like to resume dashing, please click 'Resume Dash' in your app. And acceptance rating automatically goes down by 1% because user do not have control to the interface whatsoever. So either some network packets were lost and the app do not handle them with tolerance or the app was simply using insecure networking protocol which just opens the door for hackers.
Worst app for dashers. The company is worst of all of other food delivery platforms. While it might offer customers their food on time, the way the company treats dashers is terrible. Often times the map would show you incorrect address for restaurants or for customers. Even upon multiple complaints, they would not update it. And if the order arrives late, they would decrease your rating. They would send you to restaurants where waiting times could be >15 mins and for 7km delivery, still pay $7-$8. You end up earning just $15 or less and hour. The orders placed in plazas are worst, as there would be no parking, but u are still expected to deliver on time. And then they can deactivate your account and never listen to your side of story. I hope australian government sues this company for treating dashers this way.
Worst Platform. WORST, WORST and WORST. Never work for Doordash if you do not want to waste your time, efforts and resources. They pay so less for their trips and dont even pay for waiting at restaurants. I had few deliveries where restaurants didn’t made the order on time but they never paid anything for wait time of over 25 minutes. Not only this, they will blame you for not reaching at customer’s place on time. Are they even aware what they are saying ? Until or Unless we do not get the items from merchants how can we go to the customer to deliver. They put contract violation for this on my account and deactivated it without any sense. I warn the people who wants to join doordash. Please think twice and go for other platforms available such as Uber and Menulog. They are much better than this poor organisation. They do not have enough orders to give drivers enough so that’s why they are just paying less and removing drivers with nonsense reasons.
Garbage KPI, Garbage driver allocation. The driver allocation algorithm or manual process is garbage. It never consider the distance or traffic situation within the route. If the traffic is busy the driver need more time to arrive at store and the recipient need to wait more time. The only thing they do is set a contract violation if you arrived late due to traffic issues. If the road is busy, one drive car cannot arrive at store on time even if they over speeding. So, as a result, dasher waste their time on one order, customer wait longer time for the order. And the contractor violation is thrown to the dasher. For Uber driver, there is no such issue, if traffic is busy at 3 or 5, they will pay more. But! The truth is DoorDash take more market percentage it could do something like this. So I just wish to see some improvement.
Address, talk to customer sometimes after delivery. Some of the address are hidden , recently I had an order after taking it to the address or what I thought, I couldn’t find the address because it was this place I had never been. After calls and taking ti the customer Which didn’t help I ended up wasting my time looking for the address which also was later on put has late on my rating. Can dd please make this easier for the drivers. I also got 1 star rating out 5 because of that and it was even my fault. Keep in my I was taking to the customer this all time, forward to few hours am seeing my rating go down and before this I had 5 now am below that. My complaint is to talk/text customer who have given you the low rating cuz sometimes is not even the driver fault. And I also want the DoorDash to send the drivers who give rating/who’s food did u deliver that gave you the rating. In my opinion I think it will help the drivers knowing what they did wrong and how to improve.
Too many dashers in one are. You guys have advertised your business soo badly. The first 6 weeks of working was great was really busy peak times were great. But now I can’t even make $50. Peak times are like nonexistent and it’s just a joke you have allowed too many people in the one area to sign up and now the drivers that have been doing it for weeks are now missing out and can’t make the income they used to off it. Why would you allow so many people to sign up to be delivery drivers when there isn’t enough deliveries for people to make decent money. For me this has been a big help as I am in lockdown and don’t receive government assistance. You really should’ve though of this better because now I’m looking for another way probably go to Uber eats. Not to mention the time I would have to wait sometimes for and order up to 40 min I’ve waited to pick up and order also gotten orders that were due to be picked up 10 min prior to me accepting. And then being sent 20 min to drop off an order and only being paid $12 for it. Your company is a joke!! And you will lose a lot of staff for this!!
Unfair and buddy system.. I have been working for door dash for almost 2 months now and all was smooth until one customer gave me a poor rating. This one poor rating out of over 200 successful delivery’s now means I am no longer a top dasher and don’t receive orders anymore. The only way to improve my rating is customers leaving good ratings but customers don’t leave ratings, and even if they did I no longer can get orders for them to leave ratings. The app is also very buggy and gives the wrong location for addresses many times which makes it hard for me to give the customers their food, and usually results in customers waiting longer. When I get to restaurants to pick up food door dash gives me one minute to pick it up or it’s considered late, and the only way to not be late is to manually say the food is not ready. From what I have read on forums online door dash has been this way for many years and has not changed one bit. Door dash does not look after their delivery drivers at all and it’s very unfair for the good honest drivers just trying to make a living. The people at door dash seriously need to look at their rating systems, and fix all the bugs in this app.
Bug in the app. the app can only authorize new riders when the model of a scooter or car is informed in the registration, if registered as a motorcycle the rider will never be able to start working, as the app will never release schedule for the rider. chat support is bad at work and can't change this information for the rider. if you have this problem, make a new registration with another phone number and inform vehicle model scooter.
Be aware. In my opinion previous experience withstanding I loved every single thing about this app it was a great way of earning money when you needed it and the versatility was tremendous but don’t be fooled because easy comes easily goes I was fooled into thinking I was finally financially secure and once you get that sense of accomplishment it’s instantly taken away from you…. I was deactivated for reasons that still cannot be explained nor proven to me.. just know that you are dealing with AI technology that doesn’t understand human emotions only makes critical decisions about you that make absolutely zero sense at the end of the day my apologies appeals and my hard drive is no longer appreciated nor wanted. No explanation no sorry no sense
Very low pay. The app is not that bad only few bugs like it provides you wrong address ot even completely different shopping centre for instance.. the trips are not balanced at all you might wait for the food 5-10 minutes sometimes you need to access the stores only by walking and it take a good 10 minutes walk every second order and you might get a "violation" for being late and underpaid... in general you expect 12-15$ per hour after tax. So yeah if desperately need extra money is ok as a second job.. uber eats pays a bit more and they respect the drivers more
Worst delivery partner if you prefer flexibility. I’m extremely disappointed with this delivery company. They blocked my account simply because I rejected few orders from a restaurant that was having issues receiving orders. It’s absurd that they’re punishing delivery partners for making reasonable decisions. This company clearly doesn’t value the flexibility that gig work is supposed to offer and instead treats their partners like employees without giving them any of the benefits. Blocking an account for rejecting a couple of problematic orders is completely unfair and shows a total lack of respect for their delivery partners. I won’t be using this service again, and I encourage others to reconsider supporting a company that treats its workers this way.
I’m Really Enjoying It. I enjoy this job! The flexibility is paramount because it means I can work in with school hours and appointments. The app is easy to use, once you get use to it. Door dash always seems busy for me, and I love how the app shows a map of all the busy hotspots. So if you don’t have any orders coming through, just head to the hotspots. They also have gps to help you get to those hotspots if you are unfamiliar with the area. I would recommend this to everyone 😊
Lack of support for the new registrations to activate account. I downloaded the app because I found multiple advertisement on social media saying that they have available space for new riders to join. It’s been 2 weeks since I downloaded the app, there is no place to upload the relevant documents and no contact telephone line to talk about account activation either. When I contact support via chat, all they saying is that their escalate team will contact us through email regarding account activation. But I contacted them 3 times via chat. But no one from escalate team contacted me throughout last 2 weeks. It’s ridiculous! If they cannot handle new riders or they do not have space for new riders please STOP advertising on social media saying there is available space for new riders. STOP misdirecting people please. Hope someone from management sees this and act upon this matter without playing with people’s time.
FAKE AND MISLEADING. The Dasher app is full of problems and feels like it’s designed to exploit drivers. On one order, I waited nearly an hour for the food to be prepared, then spent another 30 minutes delivering it ,only to be paid $10 for all that time and effort. The app claimed there was a promotion, but I never received it, which felt like a scam. It also listed the order as 8 items, but there were over 30 items, which was incredibly misleading and added unnecessary stress. To make things worse, you can’t skip orders without ruining your acceptance rate, so you’re forced to take low-paying or difficult orders just to avoid penalties. Overall, it feels like the system is set up to take advantage of Dashers while giving them as little as possible in return. DoorDash needs to do better.

Scam alert. I recently completed 50 hours of driving and earned $1,000, but the reality isn’t what it seems. After driving nearly 1,000 km, I spent $150 on fuel, $50 on extra insurance, $60 on maintenance, and another $100 for vehicle wear and tear. When all was said and done, I was left with just $640—bringing my hourly rate down to a disappointing $12.80. If you’re thinking about gig driving, beware: the costs quickly add up, and the so-called “good money” isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. You might find yourself working hard for a lot less than you expected.
Worst customers ever.. The customers are putting 1 star to get rid of you when they see you are white skin color. It’s a shame.
Confusing.. I like the work. But it’s a pain that you can’t lock a delivery in. MAAAAAANY times tonight. I would drive to a hotel spot’ and by the time I got there it was taken by someone else. So I’d drive back across town to another ‘hotspot’ and it was gone too.
Don’t use it. I had my money in doordash account and they deactivated it and now they are not giving me that money.
unable to edit dashes. every single time i try to change my dash it says failed i have it booked from 7am till 12am and i’m unable to change it to 2pm till 12am this should not be a problem because i have it booked it’s not like i’m trying to change it to 6am or extend it till 4 the doordash support blamed me for the problem and said there’s nothing they can do because they don’t know what times are available like!! and the pay sucks not worth it
Doesn’t support Apple CarPlay. Can not find it in Apple CarPlay
Jose. It’s seems doesn’t worth doing door dash as pick up drop off locations are far and very little money
So bad. I've been waiting in the cold for half an hour and I still haven't received an order. I came from a long distance because it was a busy area on the map. I had the same problem 2 days ago and I couldn't receive an order for nearly 2 hours. This situation is getting very annoying.
Payment is very low. Payment for deliveries are bad .. for 12 KM also 4 Dollars . They should think about the users who are working for them.
Terrible. You make about 4$ in 45 minutes if there’s no tip and subtract gas charges you make around 2$z not worth your time at all. The food is never ready to be picked up when it’s supposed to be and you end up having to wait 20-30 minutes in the restaurant until it’s ready.
Don’t deliver for Door Dash. I’ve been delivering the odd delivery for door dash for about a year. The pay is below minimum wage. I just did a delivery today where a cab driver would have been paid $20 dollars for the same distance I was paid $4.00. No tip and I had to bring the food into an apartment building to the 4th floor no elevator. The pay did not even cover my fuel. I made 8 dollars an hour for that delivery. DoorDash does not pay for the time spent getting from your last delivery to picking up the next delivery. They literally will send you clear across the city and then expect you to go back to the part of town where you were originally scheduled to be. They’re rating system is extremely unfair. The customer rates you on a scale from one to five stars. Once your average falls below 4.7 you no longer have access to better paying orders and once you reach 4.2 your terminated . the customers do not know that a four star rating is a failure for the delivery person. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AS A DESIRABLE PLACE TO WORK
Unable to complete sign-up. Says it’s taking you to a 3rd party verification checkr site… Then just a white page and nothing loads. Hit back and it sends you through a loop of having to re-login and 2FA only to end on the same blank screen.
Stealing our customers tips. Received the order for $10 driving 13km and I noticed that door dash is paid me $6 for 13km That’s mean they are stealing our customers tips
Needs to be fixed. Dasher is not letting you give a reason for why you are declining an order. Very annoying. Poor development.
SCAM APP. The pay is deplorable the app is a scam!!! Disgusting how they treat their drivers! Do not bother it’s not worth your time or your gas! You will not make money
Fix the application procedure. Cant even login to the platform. Keep switching from app to website to text message and app store. So annoying and trash
Worst delivery app for Dasher. They are just here to earn money by reducing our delivery fee and giving us baseless deals just to earn money from the customers Most of the time they don’t even pay 75 cents for a kilometres Hope they will change the policy or nobody will work for them
Not bad. It’s not the worst company to deliver for but they certainly don’t pay enough to send you 15-20 km away from the restaurant. If it was in the same area as you started your doing ok because they send deliveries once inside the original scheduled areas but once you go outside the area you need to return to the original area to be sent more deliveries.
Maps review and other problems.. Customer service is horrible. They don’t understand dasher’s point of view. Go to restaurant as I accept dash but their apps have problems so I have to go 45 mins away to customers address to get it resolved so I can go to next delivery. Even in help don’t get option after accepting it I assign the delivery. Chat reps are always not available. Last thing false advertising. They say you can see restaurant map in pin Point and customer address area pin point. After accepting the delivery then you can see restaurant address and once you at restaurant you can see customer address not when accepting the delivery. On app . Please fix this so dashers can make educated decision.
Not creating any more account for dashers. My concern is if you are not accepting applications any more than stop promoting your dasher app for becoming a dasher. I am trying since so many months to become dasher but not able to create account but regularly getting ads for the same. I request you stop giving so much ads if you don’t want to more dashers.
Declined. Order coming by text message but app showing nothing and rating also going down plz fixed problem
Acceptance rate cheating. Hey Doordash, you say that the acceptance rate is counted per 100 deliveries but if we decline an offer, acceptance rate decreases. Why the acceptance rate is npt increased if we accept orders after that. This is a genuine question. Are you trying to make fool of others?? Uber is way better than this. Sorry to say, its time to say goodbye to this app. Also, your inbuilt map is the worse.
Worst Dasher Support. I am trying to get support from dasher support team from last 5 years in account creating issues they, they never figured out it. It’s the same problem constantly going on ‘ having trouble with processing your application’. No one is willing to fix the issue. So disappointed 👎🏿
Buggy app. After updating new version.. I am unable to decinle orders .. unable to unassign.. it shows black screen. Already raised concern to support team with screenshots but they l sent me an email with basic troubleshooting .. lol
Low pay rate for shop and deliver grocery orders. From recent 2-3 days shop and deliver grocery orders are very less paying some are like 4$ for 6-7 km and with like 15-20 items to shop for. Why would anyone in their right mind would accept these kind of orders. Shop and pay orders take around 30-45 mins average so why would anyone work for that less. These orders should atleast be 15$ minimum
Auto pausing. I’m getting notification on top saying go to this restaurant and when I open the application there is no order and after certain time dash is automatically pausing. I’m unable to dash because of this update
Poor Code App. Tonight I had an order to pick up at the merchant and when I arrived, I confirmed that I was waiting for the order. The app logged me out and I couldn’t get access to it and proceed with the order but I called dasher assistance reps and couldn’t help at all. What do you do in this case? Very poor development of the app always has an issue with the ratings and order.
Pas payant. C’est pas payant et en plus j’accepte une commande et on me donne moins au final
Distance estimate is in miles. Hey, we’re in Canada and we don’t use miles. Can you please fix this for once?
Bad algorithm. You have to wait like an hour to get an order that is 3 dollars for 8km and it will have 50 beer cans and 50 watter bottles. Thanks for changing our lives doordash 🔥
NO PAYMENT. After delivering of 3 Weeks , still didn’t receive the payment, reached customer support multiple times in last 3 weeks, no one cares about the Dasher, feels like waste of time doing Dasher.
Worst delivery company to work for! NO JOKE😂. Work better for Uber. Dash is never on your site at all!! My completion rate went down every time cause of a mistake of the store. I drove 4km to pick up an order. When i arrived at the store, they told me that the other DoorDash driver waiting there since 20min and you will have to wait 20min too. When I contacted the support, they told me that they will call the store and get back to me which approximately took 10min. (Wasting my time) The support advised to wait or unassign from the order without pay. Also my completion rate will be affected when I unassign. - So, i drove 4KM (10min) -doordash support wasted my time again 15min - my compensation rate got affected too - and had ri drive 4km back to restaurant areas. This is amazing and most ridiculous service I ever experienced. This happens every week so good luck in making money. Also per week generally you will make not kore than 50dollar with a dash time of 25h a week. Thank you doordash for wverything ❤️
Less earning. You can earn 6 dollar per hour. A lot of dasher in a specific area. Base pay too much low. Gasoline too mich high.
poor development. I am very dissatisfied with doordash customer care and app development the customer care didn't able to help you if you facing any error and the app is lagging sometime.
App needs work. Stuff is always going wrong with the app and support will just tell you to uninstall and reinstall. They provide little to no help regarding compensation when the app isn’t working. Uber eats works much better and has much better support.
Dashing. They have to many drivers working. Hard to make any money. Last 2 shifts averaged $10.00 an hour
Abboud2. Hi
Zero Support to Driver. Customers are God for DoorDash. Bad drivers are like slaves. There’s no respect there’s no support. whoever did mistakes or anything always affect drivers. If you don’t have any choice, then go with Dasher otherwise go with Uber or skip the dishes even better do Instacart.
Logged me out. Logged me out mid delivery and won’t let me back in
Algorithm is messed up. The platform assigns far off deliveries which are not feasible on bike . Which after being declined , acceptance rates decline due to which deliveries are not available even if the app is turned on for the full day. This is ridiculous on highest level . That’s not the way to go .
Robbery. Just for the payment 150$ still missing from my deposit , i complain a lot of times for the doordash support team but no solution till today.
Bad experience with app. The app is not good for dashers. When customer wants dasher to hand over the food to them or meet at door. The app won’t give you option to take a picture. Customer can easily manipulate and have free food by marking the delivery ‘Not delivered’. Technically, when the app is tracking you and knows that you are destination then how it is a violation. And if it happens again, your account will be deactivated.
How can you have too many drivers?. It’s literally work when you want right? So why is it saying too many people in my area doing it. I just want something to pick up a couple bucks here and there, not full time.
Coupled Deliveries. Couple deliveries are too far from each other.
Garbage Map!!!. You've managed to turn an already dead-end mapping app into a garbage dump! It's truly unbelievable. I think it could have been done better than this even in the Stone Age. None of the delivery address locations are correct and the Dasher's are not to blame for late deliveries but your garbage map app.
Worst app. The app is worst for dashers like us. They dont give orders once you reject 1-2 orders. And total time waste app
Worst app. I dont how they advertise 18-22$/hr. I earn about 10-15$/hr. Base pay thing is ridiculous. I drive more than 15 km to earn 5$ which take about30 min to pick up and drop.
Notifications don’t work. Most of time the notification doesn’t work unless you have the app running in the foreground. Even then, there would be pop-ups but no sound. The failure to notify made me miss a lot of deliveries, thus reducing earning opportunities, at the same time, reducing my order acceptance rating. :(
Useless Dasher Support and totally Unhelpful. Useless Dasher Support and totally Unhelpful!!I work on bicycle and getting orders with distans 5-8 kilometers like for car ((Stupid system
Poor services. They block your I’d without any reason and then never let you go back online

My son is very sick, I’m pregnant, and I begged and pleaded for my job and DoorDash had no mercy.. Went from being told I was doing great, getting sent the best orders, getting high rated tips, to being let go over a completion rate. My rate has been a bit low for a little while, I’ll admit it, but DoorDash is just now saying something to me. Instead of giving me a chance to redeem myself or give me a final warning to get it right and do better, I get let go. It mortified and hurt me deep because you guys just told me how good I was doing and I need this job. I have a 2nd job, but my boss can only afford to put me on 1-2 days out of the week, and finding a job where I am is extremely difficult due to the schedule I have to keep for my babies. My son is sick with an under active thyroid and I have to be able to afford to put food on the table and get him to his Dr. appointments for treatment or his under active thyroid could turn into cancer. I am also 24 weeks pregnant with my unborn child due in November. I begged and pleaded and tried hard to appeal for my job back. DoorDash support showed me no mercy and still decided to let me go. I had at least a 4.8 star rating, almost 800 dashes in my dasher lifetime, and I had been with you guys for years. This final judgement made on me to let me go and keep it that way, knowing my son is sick with something that could turn life threatening, is highly evil to me and unforgivable.
Sliding scale. Only put 5 stars so this can be seen. *PLEASE READ* {DO NOT BECOME A DOOR DASH DRIVER IN ANY STATE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT IN NY OR SEATTLE} DD is now on some new system, where you have to match the deliveries you make say 6/21, that you made on 5/21. If you don’t every delivery you make will be taken back! You basically have to work triple time to get your delivery numbers to stay up, you’ll go to sleep with 95 and wake up to 90, deliver 7 the next day finish dashing and supposed to have total 97, wake up and have 85! DD IS RIPPING ITS DRIVERS OFF! In the beginning it’s great, but when you hit platinum and KEEP hitting Top Dasher they switch the system and DO NOT notify ALL the dashers. You call them about it and you get different answers from everyone you speak with(not one of them are in the States!- I’ve spoken to someone in EGYPT) I can’t even call it PREMIUM(more like sub par)support, they don’t support-THEY LIE!!! The on time or early hasn’t change for me in 3 months(except dropped 2 points)I was told that’s for high priority deliveries, which while platinum (which I still should be) I had maybe 2, was never, ever told that it was based on that. I see why so many drivers, deliver for all 3-Uber Eats, Grub Hub and DD!
Rich people are cheap!. Dasher guys need to give us more time to accept or decline when an order comes in. Give us time to pull over and review the order and see how far it is because when you get an order paying $7.75, you assume it’s gonna be somewhere quick and near by! Imagine my surprise when it was an order that I had to drive 15 minutes way up into the twisty, windy, roads of Beverly Hills. Up and down steep hills into a gated community. Only to receive ZERO TIP!!! It’s always the rich jerks on Beverly Hills who don’t tip and DoorDash needs to charge them extra when they love way up in the hills! Rough terrain should be extra. Even if it was flat road, to drive 15 minutes and be paid $7 is ridiculous then have to navigate back to my zone! But up in Beverly Hills should be an extra charge! On top of that it’s a hassle because they’re little to no reception so it’s hard to complete the order. It’s a huge hassle and I need time to review these orders before I accept them. But I know you guys purposely give us a short amount of time because you don’t want us declining these orders. Well pay us more or make a 10 dollar tip mandatory for going up in the hills and the canyons! Stop taking advantage of the drivers. And give us some gas money please. Thank you!
Too many problems. Every single day that I use this app to work, something goes wrong with the app not functioning and customer service is an absolute joke. From navigation problems that take you out in the middle of the wilderness in a field of grass as an address point, two orders coming in that you cannot see or even click on because the app doesn’t function properly almost ever, or just everything freezing up all the time for no reason I wouldn’t waste your time. Customer service is either bought or they’re really slow in the head and I’m not saying that to be mean, I actually mean it. Whenever their app is the problem, they refuse to fix the problems, and instead of blame you for it, telling you many times a day to keep reinstalling and getting rid of the app repeatedly as if it’s a you problem or your phone problem when it’s actually happening to everybody that’s a Dasher. also, when we get orders that only come through on text and not on the app, there’s no way to possibly accept the order. Therefore, it makes our acceptance rate drop so that we don’t get orders anymore and we get punished for their app mess ups, that they refused to fix. day-to-day driving with this horrible app, you never know what kind of downfall you’re gonna get, but most likely, DoorDash will blame you for it and you will lose money somehow for their issues and their mess ups.
My time so far. I’m pretty new to Door Dash but the job fits my needs! I quit my 50 hr a week machining job and one of the best companies I ever worked for! I had to die to many years of working in production doing repetitive motion type stuff! My muscles just couldn’t take it anymore! This was one of the e options I considered for work! So far it’s not to bad although most of my frustration comes from merchants that don’t have orders ready! Door Dash has been courteous and very fair! I really like the freedom that one has with scheduling especially if something comes up and you have to go right away it’s ok! Choosing what hours and days is awesome! This gives me the freedom to pursue my own projects as well! Every now and then I do have problems with the GPS freezing up momentarily (luckily I grew up in this area) but Dash support has been responsive and usually quick with a solution! I think I will keep doing this job for a while! It has been a nice break on my poor muscles! Most jobs in my field require me to lift 50 lbs at least! Not this one! Love it! My torn swollen muscles are getting the rest they need! I was also afraid of starting all over in a new career but this hasn’t been bad at all! Even an old guy like me can do it lol! Thank you Door Dash
Intuitive app. The app is very intuitive and pretty easy to use. It takes a bit to make sure you are using all of the features whether letting Door Dash know orders are taking a while, the store is busy or such. I have noticed an increase in restaurants taking a long time to get orders ready. A few times lately, I have waited almost 30 minutes. One thing that needs updated is when you accept an order at the same restaurant you are already at. You only get the name Customer until after you say you have picked up the original order. Most places you want the name right away as they are sometimes ready in the opposite order you accepted them. I agree with another reviewer, DD should require at least 1.00 tip per mile. Some days it isn’t worth dashing between wait times, fuel and wear and tear on your vehicle. We strive to do well and get nothing in return. I used DD before becoming a dasher and would have never of thought to not tip anything. Customers have to change it to 0.00 or 0.20 (which I have gotten). It’s rude and disrespectful to those of us providing a service. Last weekend I picked up 2 orders at 2 different locations for the same person and was tipped 1.00 for both orders. Frustrating.
Like paying for gas to work a minimum wage job. I’ve worked doordash for about 6 months now, in busy city areas and rural. Both areas have the same thing in common: you are paid the lowest amount that the company can get away with. It’s common to see strings of deliveries that offer less than $5 for deliveries that take more than 30 minutes to complete. On top of that, you are penalized with a low acceptance rate that could lead to losing the ability to drive for doordash, even with the risk of fraud for doing so. I thought that the company was taking out money for taxes, but they take out ZERO. Luckily the app everlance had my back to lower the cost of taxes at the end of the year. All in all, if you’re looking to wait in parking lots under their elusive “hot spots,” you’ll see your day burning away as you’re paid pennies on the dollar where any other delivery company would pay double or even triple the rates. Now I only use doordash as a fallback if companies like grubhub or uber eats are having difficulties that day. That would be the only way I recommend doordash. Sign up for other companies that actually respect their drivers, and then doordash as a last resort after all other options. In my experience it is near impossible to work full time with this job unless you’re crazy enough to work in a city. Incredibly disappointing company. Wouldn’t even recommend it to customers unless they have no other options for delivery companies.
Overall good app but minor flaws. Overall the app is good and it’s easy to use for drivers however there is a major flaw which can cause drivers to lose orders and money. When you are delivering you pick a zone to deliver in yet sometimes DoorDash will give you orders where you are delivering to houses way outside of your zone and then you are forced to quickly hurry back to your zone or else DD wont send you orders. Then your acceptance rate lowers and you money it even goes as far as to tell you that you may miss orders because you’re outside of the zone. Not very helpful if a DD order was the reason you are sent outside of your zone. Also, my acceptance rate was at 98% and now it is at 57% because I forgot my redcard for one day and it sent me 5 back to back deliveries for Walmart groceries, which also when i finally accepted the order i had to cancel it bc the store said three other drivers have tried the pick up this order but they don’t know what order this is. Not very fair to drivers to be penalized for missing orders when you’re outside your zone or if you cannot do grocery pick ups. There should be a choice for grocery deliveries or just regular DD food deliveries. Sometimes the app sends you to the wrong location or address.
Uber eats is better. After going back n forth between DoorDash and Uber eats I realized that’s Uber eats PAYS MORE and has better customer service, you can ALWAYS work at anytime with Uber eats, unlike DoorDash where you have to continuously use up your mileage monthly to be a “top dasher” to be able to work anytime and not have to schedule. Uber eats map is more efficient, and ordering from them is a breeze unlike door dash who’s map sometimes switches to google and makes you type the address in in the middle of a delivery. DoorDash seems to be more popular so they’re more likely to have just anybody pick up your food than Uber. You do not get to see your drivers face and profile with DoorDash, unlike Uber that shows you the persons full government name and face so you can know who’s coming to your door. Theses are just some friendly tips I wish I knew before I tried DoorDash. Uber has out done them time and time again. There are usually more dashers than deliveries so sometimes your sitting around waiting even when they tell you it’s busy, there excuse is there’s too many dashers. Door dash wouldn’t be doing this is they were a w2 employer, theyre doing this because people are desperate for side money and their taking advantage. Which as you can see on social media, unhappy workers are bringing you your food. That’s terrible ! 1 star because it’s an opportunity to make chump change.
Look for a different delivery job!. I worked for doordash for about 6 months or so and I really would not recommend it to anyone especially if you’re able to do uber eats or another delivery type job. It started out with decent pay per delivery but then they did an update and now it 2-6 dollars versus the 7-12 dollars I use to make, they take a percentage out of your tip money, the app constantly glitches and you can’t see where you need to deliver, for some reason the app has a cute little thing where it will take you to the wrong address for a customer, I ended up making 25 dollars in like 3 hours and then had to fill up my gas tank so it wasn’t even worth it! I worked 12 hours on New Years and only made 65 dollars. And it is soooo slow sometimes! Not to mention doordash send you to a delivery before the food is even done so you wait forever for the food.. Also it charges you to cash out your money! How stupid that I have to pay a fee to get my money AND you can only use instant pay once in 24 hours. You will make double if not triple the money on Uber eats, you can cash out 5 times a day, order is ready at pick up, great GPS system in app, they DONT take your tips, and it gets nice and busy! I made $160 in 10 hours on Saturday vs the $65 I made on doordash working 12 hours on a holiday! It can be okay side money on the weekends but do not do this full time! You will put more gas in then the money you make and it’s just not worth it y’all..
So tired of wasting gas trying to make it to "busy" areas. I HATE the way this app is designed. You have two options if you want to make money: schedule a time slot in advance, or keep the app open and wait for a zoned area to become "busy." The problem with this is that a) the app is over saturated with employees who take all the time slots even if they don't actually intend to work, or b) you can't start working in a certain area until you drive there and most of the time by the time you get to that area, all the available work has been taken. But the app doesn't refresh quickly enough to tell you this ahead of time so you end up driving across town wasting all that gas just to find out you're too late. This system is awful compared to apps like Postmates, which allows you to go online wherever you're located and it assigns deliveries to you near your location. Also, on several occasions Ive been dashing in a certain area but have to deliver an order outside of that "zone," and after I finished the delivery, the app automatically ended my dash without my knowledge because I left the zone. At which point I had to drive all the way back to that zone to try and reschedule my dash...but multiple times it's too late and I can't continue working because the available slots have filled up. It's horrible and unfair and a waste of time.
Being a dasher.. I feel as though whoever is over the dasher’s doesn’t test them fair. Everybody that orders food pay over $30 most of the time. While us dashers only get a small percentage when we are the ones taking them the food. Then the lack of communication that they have when your trying to explain a situation to them and how fast they try to reassign the order saying it’s not going to affect you but in the long run it does. I also find it unfair how our acceptance rate drops vividly if we decline bogus orders. Nobody is going 12 miles for 2 dollars. Then let’s talk about how fast it starts to mess with certain parts of your car because of how much your driving. But they put nothing on an oil change or on brakes. And I find it crazy how they choose to raise the numbers for certain rates and standards when they make unacceptable orders. Or when the customers are being rude. Or when the fast food place or any store your picking up from is taking over 10 minutes but they tell you to wait anyway then it still falls back on you. I feel like the people that’s running dasher is doing a terrible job and could be doing much better me personally speaking. I have my account taken away and I’ve tried to get it back multiple times explaining I don’t understand what I did wrong , when all the customers I’ve had ? Rated me as a good dasher and just in general I have excellent customer service.
Important. you should pay 16 dollars per hour plus + additional tips added to the hour of work this is not a delivery business it is that the exit of the perimeter of one mile must be invoiced for the additional transportation cost to what it does not even have food or Mileage or any food for the employee when working. I believe that services to Dashers should be improved, why expose the car for a company service that generates millions and moves within Wallstret, it is a shame to say that what is earned is a pittance for each person, I think it is an abuse send a Dasher 30 minutes away from your order zone 30 minutes back for just a pittance of order. In all honesty, the food chains bill millions in wallstret and if people pay for food, they pay salaries along with tips, it is work because they spend 30 dollars a day for gasoline, it is a sum of 600 dollars only in gasoline that you are going to have left for you as a worker here. My phone fell while working and they don't want to fix it. It's a complete irregularity in this job to have a phone and it breaks while working, and that's just because the company doesn't have insurance to take responsibility for your work. i hope all dashers support my opinion why now my phone doesn't work to work with the additional app to spend gas now i need to get a phone that is not really good to work with a company that is multimillion dollar
DONT LEAVE YOUR MONEY ON THE DASHER CARD!!!. I’ve been doing DoorDash for over a year and throughout this year I’ve had so many problems with this card and DoorDash doesn’t care. And a lot of problems they have cannot be seen on their side, so they try to tell you that it’s nothing wrong with your card even if it’s getting declined. I’ve had a problem where I have had a portion of my rent money on the card and I couldn’t get it off due to a problem that they “couldn’t see on their end,” and they hung up on me after I kept telling them there was a problem with my card and I couldn’t pay my rent on time. They don’t care about the dashers!!! So I’m going to list some things I’ve been told over the year: ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ On paid orders even though they say they take it out of your weekly pay, if you have the dasher card they take it out of your earnings from that day. You cannot use Apple Pay more than 5 times a day because after that it won’t let you transfer anymore. You can ONLY use the atm once a day. The daily limit for the DoorDash card is $400-$500 I’ve gotten different answers. This card shows as a prepaid card so you may not be able to pay some bills with it. If you’re trying to get a money order and taking the money off the dasher card it won’t let you because it reads as a prepaid card. SO PLEASE DON’T KEEP AND IMPORTANT MONEY ON THIS CARD! IM SAVING YOU THE HEARTACHE!!! Just use the bank transfer option!
Terrible bugs and functionality. DoorDash, at least in my city, is extremely inefficient in the way they offer/assign orders and my app is littered with bugs. Flash stopping working the first time you turn it on, sending the gps app you use the wrong address if you don’t use in app nav, and assigning orders to you a city away (over 25 minute drive) and then docking you when their unrealistic time frame (arrive at the store in less than ten minutes) isn’t met. On top of that, if another dasher has been waiting on an order and releases it, DoorDash will still keep the time frame that the first dasher had. They won’t dock you for this, but it is very frustrating not seeing a pick up by or deliver by time frame that I can actually use. When picking up multiple orders, EVEN THOUGH you’ve hit pick up on BOTH orders, the slide to proceed button tells you that you need to pick up both orders before you proceed. With both names having a green check mark next to them showing you’ve already picked them up. The only fix I’ve found to this is closing, then reopening the app. And don’t even get me started on the dasher support. It can take upwards of 30 minutes to even contact them, and that’s if they’re only working on your issue and not multitasking, which makes a 5 minute fix about 20 minutes in reality. Worst app experience I have ever been disgraced with using.
Das😢5555. Please fix the bug in the application! In the Dordash help section it is written: “Your On-time/Early Rate is the percentage of orders you complete by the estimated delivery time (or 5 minutes past), calculated from the 100 most recent deliveries you accept.” Actually this is not true! The rating is calculated for all completed deliveries, and not for the last 100. And it’s almost impossible to change your rating. Being late will stay with you forever! and will never be 100% on time! I want to draw the attention of the App developers to one very IMPORTANT detail. The app has the ability to pause the work. This is a great feature to relax, eat, fill up the car and run with renewed vigor. But there is a very inconvenient arrangement of buttons (nearby) “Resume Dash” and “End Dash”. Many times I just accidentally hit "End Dash" instead of unpausing and continuing my work. After this, it is almost impossible to resume your working day! And it was scheduled a week in advance! You either move the buttons one to the top of the screen, the other to the bottom of the screen of the smartphone, Or add an additional question “are you sure you want to end dash?” It would really help to keep working for many who faced this situation in the app. Thank you for reading and taking action to correct this.
Latest Update For Base Pay. Recently, Doordash updated their base pay for depending on the number of miles you have to drive to deliver the order. Before the update, the base pay for an order that was less than 7 miles away was $3 per order and for orders more than 7 miles away was $3.50. Now the base pay for an order shorter than 7 miles is $2.25 and a base pay for an order more than 7 miles is $4.50. Personally, I don’t believe it was a good thing to add to the app because most of the time, how much you make for an order depends on how well a person tips you. Usually a customer will tip between 2-6 dollars and sometimes you’ll get lucky and receive a 7-10 dollar tip. Since the update, it seems like i’ve only been getting orders that are $4.25-$6.25 and sometimes $7.25. I’m also having to drive 4+ miles for an order that is only worth $4.25 and that’s the only order i’m doing since i was sent another order to do at the same time. And if I have to drive 7-10 miles to do an order, I don’t think $1 dollar more for the order is worth the drive because it ends up taking 20-30 minutes to do the order depending on the wait time at the restaurant. I thought the way base pay was set up before the update was so much better than it is right now.
Unfair Rating System. Beware that customers can rate you without providing an explanation for the amount of stars they rated you. I have had 2 unfair ratings this week. No explanation was given. I message the customers about the orders and keep them informed. I follow the delivery instructions. I move pretty quick too. Yet, somehow a customer can rate you 1 or 2 stars without providing a logical a explanation as to why. Also please note that the DoorDash system will assign you orders that are not in your selected operating zone; this then effects your ratings if you cancel the order or do not accept the order. DoorDash needs to address these problems. They will lose good dashers/drivers who will not put up with these errors. Why should the driver pay for the mistake of the application or the company making the order? Another problem is I have had the application freeze on more than one occasion while dashing; restarting my phone once or twice was the only way to fix this problem. The call/message feature is also buggy sometimes and unresponsive. If a customer cancels their order while you are in the middle of a dash, you are supposed to be compensated for the order; twice this has happened and no compensation, yet it stated it would. DOORDASH ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS! DON’T ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO PROVIDE LOW STAR RATINGS WITHOT AN EXPLANATION! UNFAIR SYSTEM!
Honest dasher review. I always like to give things a fair chance but after 3 days of dashing I can confidently say there are big problems with this app/job if you want to call it that. For one the base pay you get from doordash is horrendous, no surprise there, and at times won’t even cover the gas of the trip. Because of this you are forced to rely on tips from customers which is not always a given. After over an hour during a Friday night in a some-what big and most definitely busy city, even according to the app, I earned about $7.00. After two orders which took over 30 minutes each to complete I earned $0.00 in tips and the $7.00 from doordash. I recognize doordash cannot control whether or not the customer tips, however they can help supplement this by either increasing their base pay to something acceptable, or if after your dash shift is complete, and your pay is below say, your state’s minimum wage, then they compensate you the difference. There are minor improvements that can be made within the app aswell such as their navigation system using Google maps, it seems outdated and can get turned around quite easily. This being said it is a gamble you have to take for yourself. One day you may get lucky and earn a fair amount, purely based on your tips, however another day you may end up paying more for gas than what you earned using this app. Not a stable or sustainable income what so ever,
Support team needs better training. Bottom line I have been getting direct deposit since the start. Now there are concerns and info missing from my banking acct? REALLY? It has taking me 3 different support chatting (since 8:54 am until now 10:29 am ) and still waiting for ESCATING TEAM to call me. The worse part is that I am assuming there is no record of my calls and concerns, because every time I have to chatt about WHERE IS MY WKLY MONEY issue! The first person said that after speaking to his supervisor I need to be transferred to ESCALATING TEAM then he ended my session. The second person said someone will call me within5-10 mins (Still waiting) now the third person asked to tell her my concerns so that she can bring it up to her supervisor (after chatting for 20 mins about my concerns) now I constantly said I need escalation team to call me not a supervisor but here I am 33 mins later on hold in chat while a “supervisor “ is available when in reality I need someone in account payable to call me and tell me what the issue with my banking account is after I’ve been getting direct deposit with no issues... I am still waiting since 9:59 am it is now 10:40 and still waiting but I am so MAD I am just going to end the session myself because we all know the support here is not at its greatest .... well the agent ended the session before I did. Wasted another hr and my issues not resolved so I have no idea why they are holding my money...
Who else wants to sue for unpaid wages?. How do you force a driver to wait for order upon order without being compensated? Customer service is almost non existent they waste more of your time “investigating” and you aren’t compensated for no longer wanting to wait for these businesses to prepare the order mind you you’ve already arrived!! There is no restaurant staff assigned to dashers orders at entirely toO many of these establishments. The best one is when the restaurant claims they did not receive the customers order!!! Or try completing a delivery on a military base without prior knowledge that you will need a visitors pass to even enter which at an alternate location which again requires you all WAIT UNPAID!!! The app glitches your ratings are dropped drastically for thing’s out of your control! Match the vehicle with the road they will need to trail on do not send a sedan down a freaking pothole rittled road without offering company compensation or discounts for vehicle services that could potentially be required!!! When picking up in a mall there needs to be a designated pickup location since there obviously won’t be any close parking available and your forced to leave customers food and hope they find it!!! Who’s driving more than 15min to have to park more than a 10min walk away for a $4 job it doesn’t make sense!!! I’m looking into other driver apps because nothing you say seems to get through to them!!!
It’s okay but.... I’ve only been dashing for a week and I’ve already encountered some things that work against drivers. If an order isn’t ready at the restaurant, even if you let DD know, it still goes against your on time percentage. If you are picking up multiple orders from that location, all of your deliveries are going to be considered late, which mine were. Also, acceptance rate. I’ve only declined two orders, both large ice cream orders. Again, I just started so I don’t have a cold bag yet, and both orders were 10-12 miles away. It would have taken me two hours round trip on each order and I could tell by the offer totals that the customers didn’t tip. Perhaps a screen could appear after we’ve declined an order asking why we declined so you know why certain orders are being declined. Also, tips... on postmates, customers are given percentages of 20, 25, and 30% or custom amount when tipping. On a large postmates order you can make an extra $20/$30 on a tip. On DoorDash, the tip prompts when they place the order are $2, $3, $5, no tip.... so even on a large order or an order that is far away, you are spending more in gas and your own time waiting than you are tipped. This is a service and everyone is trying to make tips. It feels like the DoorDash app is designed to keep tips for the drivers low.
Deactivation completion rate. I have been a Dasher since early February 2021 and fired on November 28 of 2022. doordash deactivated me because of my completion rate being low, however, they say to keep a minimum threshold you must have 80% or higher to not get deactivated. I have been 79% to 81% and never changed since September 3 of 2022. The completion rate and the acceptance rate is a broken system because it doesn’t follow through on what it promises. I have always delivered to the customers address or hand it to them however, the completion rate has not raised within 100 deliveries or more And that’s what caused me to get the deactivated. I have done about 8000 deliveries since then and have to say it got worse over time working for them. I suggest doing another delivery company because they’re more loyal to dare drivers. doordash has the most absurd requirements to not get deactivated, and also the most absurd requirements to be a top dasher. I survived with tips for a year. If it wasn’t for tips, Doordash wouldn’t be anything. plus when you deliver someone’s food and the customer claims they didn’t get there food, Doordash they claim that the customer is always right, so they don’t support their drivers at all, even when they’re are in the right. Doordash was good when I started but it not good in the long run. Do ubereats instead there not as strict and more flexible and understanding and care about there drivers
Exploitative; Decline Jobs > $7 w/o Penalty. The work & energy put to each pick up & delivery with parking stress at both ends and sometimes long walks around extremely large apartment complex is worth more than the $3, $4 or even $5 jobs are pushing it to exploitive slavery labor. I refuse these insulting jobs because they don’t even tip along with the insulting low pay for all the energy and effort. We shouldn’t be dinged for rejecting these low paying task because customers should be encouraged to tip - for god’s sake, we’re not volunteers offering our services to cheapskates for very little pay. We’re Dashing to make a profit and a descent earning with dignity. $3-$5 for what can sometimes takes 20 minutes of more of our time not to mention our gas. These are insulting to Dashers. We have a right to turn them down, but often they pop up in clusters and my acceptance rating get a huge hit for refusing these for the sake of maintaining some dignity of not going that low in pay. I’d rather breathe more fresh air and sit it out rather than providing a service that is insultingly under appreciated. Honestly, if this continues, I’m checking out other delivery apps for better options or at least not be downgraded just for maintaining my dignity in refusing these super low pays. Otherwise, I’m a great Dasher & my ratings in other areas reflect that, but I shouldn’t be penalized for declining the jobs that pay less that $7.
DoorDash driver support. I have never seen such a disrespectful driver support team. They have a don’t attitude. This app will send you 25 mikes in no man’s land to deliver food for $2 and if you refuse the offer they punish you by lowering your acceptance rating. Then if your rating falls under 50% the punish you by not giving you high paying offers. So you will be forced to take offers that are so low you could not pay the $1.50 to put air in your tires. This is ok if your looking to make a few dollars but don’t do it long turn becyat the end it will cost a driver $1000s in car repair and depreciation. DoorDash along with other gig jobs control every aspect of your job just like an employer would do but then again act like you are independent contractors, but goes against what an independent contractor stands for. Get this straight as an independent contractor, you have a right to refuse offers without any consequences what so ever. If you go by their schedule and their rules you are 100% an employee which is entitled to at least minimum wage whatever state you are in. and in some states, you are required to have commercial insurance that you will not be able to afford doing DoorDash. DoorDash stated if you get into an accident do not tell your insurance company that you were doing DoorDash or rideshare because your insurance will not cover you unless you have commercial insurance and you are LLC licensed.
Customer Service Hates Americans. It is clear the problems when faced with delivering an order are all a joke to the door dash team and support staff. They make sure to let you know they have no regard for human life. and do not value their customers or the dashers that keep this terrible platform alive. Please stop using. Customers and drivers alike. Door dash is Borderline unethical with the frequencies and signals that it sends to your device. Meaning the data capabilities the DoorDash app weaponizes to the human brain is borderline unethical and needs to be addressed. Apple needs to take this app’s capabilities offline. The door dash agents use illegal gathering of information like idmi to your device to send damaging frequency to the brain. They will not admit, they sabotage personal quality of life including the Dasher account including your mobile devices performance whether you’re on the app have it download it or not. This follows up with the DoorDash support and they’re capabilities to manipulate your device. I’ve had multiple phones each year. I’ve been deactivated multiple times. I’ve thought and been canceled and paused unable to do my deliveries even at times. All of these examples are jokes to door dash and their view on the service they so boastfully say they provide. Stop using this platform until they change the abilities they are allowed to unleash at will on whoever they choose as it is beyond the scoop of a delivery service app.
“Support” lol. I started this as a filler before my actual job starts, you are definitely dependent on tips to make ends meet, they would repeated push $2-3 order for you to drive 4-8 miles, my question is, would people even start their car, drive for that far to pick up that amount on the ground? On top of the driving, you have to park, wait in restaurant and navigate some labyrinth of the apartment layout to drop it off, it’s an insult when they push that to you as an “independent contractor”. And guess what “support” are mostly hot garbage, you might get connected with a nicer agent, but do you have to time to sit and chat with them when they are just trying to get you offline as fast as possible? I only chatted with them 4 time and I got hung up before giving any help once, I was told they will process half pay after customer canceled, then they texted me I won’t get paid because 15 mins wasn’t considered assigned long enough, and then they will just lie saying they can’t do anything to remove a low rating because customers didn’t leave instruction as where to leave her order among the 10 entrance to the hospital after I texted and waited for 5 mins even though I have seen it get rectify in other dashers case. And as I read some of the more recent reviews, I also suspect if they hire clicker farm to boost their review here. “Corporate greed, corporate greed never change”
It works, but not reliably.. The dasher app does what it absolutely must do for a dasher to do their job, but it’s glitchy. The mapping system recommends going the wrong way down one way streets and to drive on the wrong side of a divided street. It’s frozen several times during deliveries, which forces me to restart my phone to reset the app. It’s also gotten stuck in a loop of asking me to verify the age of a customer who was receiving some alcohol. I would enter the information and press submit, then it would ask me to verify the age again. Any time the app freezes or loops, you have to call a help center to get the delivery status force changed. But, the option to call that center is not given in app. I had to find the phone number online and then save it my phone book for future issues. Every time something like this happens, it wastes your time and delays getting another delivery request. Lately, it’s also been having trouble recognizing when you’re near a pickup point. Thankfully, the programmers thought about that one and made possible for the dasher to change status to pickup even if the app doesn’t recognize that you have arrived at the merchant location. There are some other problems, but this covers the ones I’ve been getting most frequently. For my money though, it’s still better than driving people around. I won’t mention any company names.
Dasher support is awful. Scheduling feedback. First of all, Dasher support is atrocious. 9/10 times they don't actually help us because they don't listen or there's a language barrier. They don't understand how the app works. They lack basic customer service skills and only frustrate us more. Second, why is it that I couldn't reset my claimed time to have an hour less? I scheduled myself earlier in the week for 10am - 8:30pm today. Since last night, I have been trying to change it to 11am - 8:30pm but it will not allow me despite already having that time claimed. I wanted to give up an hour, not get more hours. I should be allowed to do that even if "the time slot is no longer available" because I was already apart of that time slot. It doesn't make sense. I understand that no one else can schedule at that time for more hours but I should be allowed to take time off of my schedule since it's already claimed. It's not like this hour is even worth dashing in (10am-11am). Finally, the text service is ridiculous. I am bombarded with texts for absolutely every order when I already get a notification from the app itself. As drivers, this text system is distracting and over done. I wish we could opt out of order texts and just received the rest without opting out of texts completely. We need to be able to communicate with our customers but don't need your text service distracting us while we drive. I received 30 texts in 2 hours yesterday. That's nuts.
It’s Great But. Some restaurants seal the customers ordered bags and therefore we as dashers are unable to see what’s in the bag and also some orders at some restaurants it doesn’t even show us dashers on the app what exactly was ordered so it only shows the number of items ordered but not the specifics and if the orders are incorrect it goes against us as a dasher when the restaurants seal the bags before we are even able to check to see if the order is correct or if it doesn’t show us on the app exactly what a customer has ordered but only shows us the number of items ordered there’s now way of us possibly knowing what was ordered but yet it goes against us if the order ends up incorrect in these situations. In situations like these it is totally unfair for us to be marked as getting an order incorrect when the bags are sealed by the restaurants to where we can not check it or it doesn’t even show us on the app exactly what was ordered in some cases as well. It’s one thing if we literally make a mistake and get the order wrong but if it is the merchants fault or the apps fault that it doesn’t show us exactly what was ordered how are we supposed to know if it is correct or not.
****App and Dasher support issues****. I’ve been working on this platform since November 2018. So I really know how to work this app. But I’ve been having problems with it for about 3 months now. The first issue is in the month of June I ended the month with 74% for my acceptance rate witch should have qualified me for Top Dasher the following month in July. But when it came time for me to start working in July I was unable to use the dash anytime feature I work hard for the previous month. So I ended up not work as much as I normally would have due to not being able to get a decent schedule. When I called support about the issue they had no idea how to help me then they transferred me to there escalated team and they also had no idea how to help me. Now the 2nd issue I have is now that I am Top Dasher again this month in September I will get notification via Text and App Notification that I have an order to accept but nothing will Pop up on my screen to accept and after I can’t accept an order it will just pause my dash witch will then lower my acceptance rating. Not even giving me the opportunity to accept or decline an order. I don’t think it’s fare it still lowers my ratings. Can someone please fix this technical issue. Because calling dasher support for this is useless.
Opinion. I like the app. It’s easy to use, I like that it tells how many total miles the delivery will be and shows a map of where you’ll be going. I don’t like that DoorDash allows people to not tip. Tips should be required. I also strongly dislike when DoorDash attempts to give orders that are very long distances away (10 plus miles) and then only offers between $2-$6 bucks for delivery. Gas is well over $4 a gallon, there’s no justification for thinking I’ll drive that far for $3 with no guaranteed tip. I have been getting so many orders like this and I decline them, which of course hurts my acceptance rate. Door Dash only pays a couple dollars per order, so if there’s no tip then you can expect a very small payment for that order. I don’t like that alcohol delivery and prescription delivery has been added requiring face to face contact. I don’t think people soups be able to fill on grocery shop on an app like this. I’ve tried a few orders and it’s way too time consuming for the pay. I no longer an willing to do those type of orders. I think it should’ve stuck to food delivery and small stores when you need miscellaneous items. I also think it should require a tip on the app and it should not give us delivery orders away from our zone.
Best gig work I’ve ever done, but system needs some tweaks!. I have worked for a couple other gig companies before and DoorDash is my favorite. The pay rate is good once you get in a rhythm and it is so worth it just for the reduced stress compared to running around grocery stores all dah! I love the convenience of the work and most of the restaurants in my area have been very easy to work with. I really appreciate that we can choose to whether to accept an order or not without being penalized so I don’t feel forced into orders that are further than I am comfortable driving, etc. My primary concern is with the delivery times we are expected to meet in some instances. A good 80% of the time the deliver by times are realistic, but sometimes I get 10 minutes to pick up an order that is 11 minutes away (and longer with traffic) and then if there is any wait at the restaurant at all, I am all but guaranteed to be late. There should be some sort of process for proving/showing that the line is super long and that we personally are not at fault for delivering an order late. I have a 78% on time rate and yet NONE of my late orders have been my fault; they’ve all been the fault of the restaurant being busy and/or behind. That doesn’t feel very fair to me!
Bugs, fixes, improvements. So I just started Dashing recently and really enjoy it. I have a few issues with this app that really hoping could improve for me and other dashers. 1) This app is super super “buggy.” I think definitely investing to improve this app is a must for this company. 2) Being able to dash with more then just 1 vehicle (if the person has access and owns multiple vehicles). 3) More promotions to incentivize drivers to do dashing. 4) Lastly, working with restaurant to improve the efficiency of the orders. Sometimes I get to a restaurant and wait for a long time for orders. The app after a minute or two notices when you aren’t on the way to the restaurant, and sometimes by the time you get there the food is still being prepared. 5) Not penalizing for not taking orders. Sometimes orders aren’t worth the gas and mileage you put on your vehicle. So please get rid of the acceptance rating and just give the dasher closes to the restaurant the order of they take it they take it if they don’t they don’t. Other things could be worked on as well but I think these 5 things would be a good start. The app is a lot better since you get to work in a specific area and never drive far unless you want to. Again most important is to fix the bugs on the app so it works better.
My Door Dash Review. I’ve been DoorDash in for over two years now my first month was good I made over $1000 but it took them over a month to pay me that because supposedly my bank card info was incorrect eventually I ended up getting it with the same bank info strange huh felt like they didn’t wanna pay out also I dislike they charge a fee of 199 to do fast pay these past few weeks I haven’t been able to get a dash schedule I don’t know if they hire just anyone or what the issue is but this is my main job only source of income and I haven’t been able to get a good schedule since this following Thursday it’s frustrating I don’t understand how there isn’t any schedules available when I call and try to speak with someone they have a really bad accident and it’s hard to communicate and I feel they don’t understand what I’m trying to get across to them last time the mistakes me trying to get schedules for dashes it’s very frustrating and they say first come first serve which I feel it’s unpredictable and unfair sometimes I’m up for hours trying to get a schedule and nothing sometimes I’ll get a schedule for two hours and only make $25-$30 if I’m lucky I hope Door DashSees my review and makes changes so there is availability for all Dashers not just first come first serve so for that you get three stars
I cannot use my card or transfer money to my bank account. I am extremely angry. I have a dasher card so I can receive my money right after I finish a dash. I use this card for everything as I am unable to transfer money from my dasher account into my bank account. I have tried using my card to buy food at multiple restaurants such as Taco Bell, Freddy’s, McDonald’s,and other places and I am unable to do so. They are declining my card and saying that it does not work despite the fact that it had money on it. Because of this I have not been able to get food many times and have had to go all day without food. It also does not work at gas stations and has started not working at the pet store when I need to buy my dog food. I cannot take money off of the card or put it into my bank account so I am having to borrow money from people. I tried calling customer service but they left me on hold for an hour. I cant sit and wait for customer service for an hour. I have work and other things to do. I am trying to sign up for Uber eats as I absolutely despise this app and everything it’s done. I’ve also had multiple bugs with the app not letting me dash during times I’ve been scheduled. It’s happened when I’ve barely had enough gas money to drive to my college classes. If you want to do food delivery I suggest skipping door dash as they will screw you over and not allow you to use the money you’ve earned.
don’t rely too much on this app. i’ve used this app pretty consistently within the past year. at first i had no issues, i found myself to really enjoy it. it helped me a lot whenever i needed extra money for rent or groceries. for that reason, this review is not 1 star. eventually, i was hit with a violation because a customer claimed that i had not dropped off the food when i most certainly did, coming to realize that this is a common issued with DD so that people can get their food for free, i decided not to let that taint my experience completely. i was then hit with another violation, for being late to dropping off a delivery that i accepted while outside of my zone. the delivery was inside of a mall and the customer lived a good 10-15 minutes away. not only did DD not do anything about that or help in any way, but i was then told my account would be undergoing a background check that would take 1-2 weeks. it was projected to be done may 10 and it is may 28, and i still have not been able to dash. while not everyone has the same bad experience with this app, i’ve noticed a lot of people that do. unless you don’t mind the fact that DD does not advocate for their drivers and you just need quick money this is a great app for you, but please do not rely too much on it considering how unpredictable it is.
My account has been deactivated.. After 3 months of using this service, my account has been deactivated. Just like that, for no reason. I had a perfect rating and platinum status, I had no canceled orders, all my ratings were 5 stars, I had no complaints from customers, and I had no delays. They made up a false reason that I was extending delivery times, but this is a lie: all my orders were delivered on time, except in cases when there were queues at the restaurant or the order was not ready. In those cases, I left a report and informed the customer. Another lie was in the deactivation letter, stating that I had repeatedly received warnings about violations. I never received any warnings about any violations; they just blocked me without warning. The possible real reason for deactivation is that I mainly worked in hourly mode. It was simply not profitable for them, although I often had to wait for new orders for 30 minutes. In regular mode, the orders were so low, even with platinum status: $5 for 2 miles, $10 for 15 miles. Once they gave me an order for $7 for 1.5 miles with a note that this was an exclusive high-paying order for platinum status. This is laughable and humiliating; it's the usual price of Uber orders. DoorDash exploits drivers with very cheap orders and a high risk of account deactivation without reasons. Avoid this delivery service; Uber pays more and gives more orders.
1st Day/Night. Man i’ll tell you what last night I had to do brakes on my new truck that I just bought and I showed up late at my house, I guess??🤔 I didn’t know I had a Curfew to be home, but we had to do the brakes all the way around.. Long story short, I’m exhausted and so was my girlfriend Jenny and her hips were hurting her. She couldn’t sleep. We didn’t wake up until four in the afternoon today and we never do that. Well she decided she wants to fight with me because she’s tired, cranky and hurting (I’m two of those but I’m not cranky). AnyWho, so I leave and I go sit in the sonic parking lot in Roseville off Pleasant Grove so she can cool down because for me it ain’t no walk in the park when she’s this way.. So decide to leave because I love her too much and I don’t wanna fight with her. There is sit and then I thought, you know what I’m just gonna turn on the Dasher and then boom all of a sudden I get an order. I take it and it’s all the way in Lincoln where I just sold my home and now I just finished my 4th run in Lincoln. So I’m glad I turned on the app because within two hours I’d say I have to look at the time I think I’ve made $50. so thanks Dasher for ending up making it a nice night.
Extremely buggy and Terrible Bass Pay. I’m writing this after having done this for 2 months with little success as it is very hit and miss: the available time slots vary greatly as do the amount of deliveries, due to the fact that the marketing team thinks it’s ok to post 3+ ads to craigslist alone a day without any regard for grossly over-saturating the market with drivers thus making it difficult most days to make any deliveries. Also their servers just outright crashed and support is very slow, not just for drivers I’ve heard from merchants trying to set up their business that they have had great difficulties as well. I understand we are currently amidst a pandemic but it’s incredibly shortsighted and unfair to the workers that they incessantly post ads trying to get as many people on the platform as possible it’s simply not sustainable from a business standpoint as all they seem to care about is the short term game rather than long term consequences of their actions. Beyond that base pay is terrible, and doesn’t factor in distance at all it seems as I’ve been having to decline offers that would make me drive 20 miles for $3 drivers really rely on tips which is not a great outlook for the people who are in a pinch and need to find work given the current state of affairs. It’s absurdly flawed at the moment but could be improved if the marketing team would ease off the throttle to try and support the current drivers rather than robotically focus on numbers.
Problem when your rural and no longer able to have wifi. So when I receive my alert for my first order of the day I’m in wifi. Upon leaving the area with wifi I am now relying on data from my phone. I go to Wendy’s to grab a order (back in wifi) and then leave (back in data). This can cause very inconsistent loading and lagging with the app as I try to push order picked up. Then some delivery’s are made and there is no data or wifi so not only can you not push order delivered but you can’t just drive back to data or wifi and complete order. You have to be at the address you made the delivery for it to connect that the order was delivered. Talking with tech support can take half hour sometimes when you complete an order and the app is lagging because data and wifi keep changing in and out in my area. There is options to choose where you can say app issues or lagging upon delivery so I have taken those routes to keep my deliveries rolling. Gotta be a better way to get these things working without having to wait for 5 min just to get an error message. Dashing has been great tho and no complaints other then the app being sketchy in my rural area. I’ve made it work tho
My Dasher Experience / 3 years part-time. I am thankful that I can select & customize my schedule. First off , I have enjoyed DoorDashing in many areas in N. California area. The app is amazing ! I have delivered to homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, fire departments, ( one time my customer was landing his helicopter prior to my arriving with his delivery) Pretty fun to watch : ) My favorite delivery’s are the ones in my small town in the country. I am very selective in which delivery’s I will accept. For example, if the pay is $10 - I will drive a maximum of 5 miles. If the pay is $ 10 for 20 miles ( I usually decline those trips) I avoid the problematic orders. In my area, there are many cell tower connection problems so I stay in the areas with cell coverage. I have experienced many trips where I could not contact the customer and the order requested a text when I arrived and due to the unknown off grid order. I have experienced some scary situations. Some area s up country do not have street signs, or houses do not have house numbers. And there could be a off lease dog roaming around the yard. I will only deliver if I feel safe. If I feel unsafe I leave the area. And I call DoorDash support. They are quite helpful.
Too much redundancy. I worked for other delivery services and I have the know how of how things work. It’s been a little overwhelming receiving texts telling me repeatedly the customer wants you to leave the order at the door when I can read the customer instructions and I signed up to do Myers park area earlier I sat there right near queens and east blvd but it would t change my position from uptown/nods to Myers park area so i wasn’t able to get any work I had to go to park road area to get it to switch so I did some unnecessary driving and wasted time trying to get an order I hung out in South Park area since it told me that’s another hot spot but I didn’t receive one order so a bit frustrated and my first day it didn’t give me an earlier end dash time it was 3:30 am I was on a route so I just went with that so I can go back to my delivery screen but please cut back on the texts unless it’s to notify me of changes don’t tell me go to so and so restaurant I see on the app where the call is sending me and reminding me to take a pic etc. sometimes the customer comes down to get order or opens the door upon arrival so I can’t take a photo. Please use these tool for the drivers that are new and need more guidance I got this ive done over 300 deliveries for postmates and instacart as well so I know how it works. Thank you
App never works. I’ve been using this app for nearly 2 years now. And that course of time there of been a number of issues with the app. Seems like the developers are constantly making changes and constantly those changes or breaking something that makes it not work. At the moment I am unable to text my customer to let them know if their food is running late, I’m on my way or any other information that would be helpful to the customer. On top of that during the busy times the app goes off-line. Meaning the drivers app completely crashes and leaves you in the dark. Sometimes leaving you holding a customers order and unable to find where to deliver it. Also DOORDASH itself can be decisive because they do not tell you the actual amount of the order. Sometimes they’ll tell you the exact amount the customers gonna pay you and other times they have hidden amounts in the order. Also they let a lot of restaurants take orders well beyond the delivery areas. Me sometimes you could get an order for some frozen food or even hot food and have to drive 20 minutes or more to deliver it. All these things factoring the bad ratings from our customers. And when you get bad ratings from your customers DOORDASH starts to hold back on orders or good orders that they give you. So in the end the app is actually making your life harder. It would be nice if DOORDASH would fix the app and leave it alone.
Kicked out of my account. I have only been dashing about 2 months and since the first day they did a background check they had my name and info wrong I did get that resolved the first week and my personal info was updated to the the correct name and b-day but every time I went to log into my dasher account I was always notified to verify my identity with picture I’d which I have 100 x over I did contact support was told to ignore it because it was a known issue and I would be fine well last night I was asked to provide a selfie which I did and it could not verify my identity and now I’m locked out I can’t dash I can’t schedule and support is not helpful they ended the support chat without providing any insight or help on what is happening or what I should do next . Support is constantly kicking u off chat without offering any insight so u are always left worse then u was before u reach out for help. I’m not sure what will happen next since I can’t dash now without verifying my identity so persona needs bugs fixed as well as dash app and a new crew of dash support. Door dash needs a complete makeover and I’m sure this is a law suite waiting to happen. I don’t understand why door dash support was couldn’t verify my identity when I called them by having another way to provide identity when the app is failing. Guess my dashing days are over since im locked out .
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. If i could give 0 stars i would. Door Dash is the worst delivery service i’ve ever encountered. I don't understand as a loyal customer, how I could not qualify for a refund when I did not receive the correct order. The receipt was not in my name, and it was from a completely different establishment per the pictures attached. The first request I put in to have the issue resolved, was declined and that makes no sense. I even added pictures of the message I sent to the delivery driver and received no response. How can this company not compensate me when I didn't even receive my food? I should have even had to chat with a support agent, and call the support number. This is the worst food delivery service experience i've ever had, and the customer service is awful. No one seems to care that a loyal customer didn't receive the food she ordered, and doesn't have the decency to refund the money. Some of the order delivered to me, I am allergic to and cannot eat therefore, I am sitting here with a bag of food that I can not eat and did not order. There is no logical reason your driver who messed up two people's orders in one night should still receive the tip and still have her job after this exchange. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone and will not use this company ever again in the future. Your delivery drivers are incompetent and company does not work to ensure customer satisfaction!
