- Chrome is all we need, thank you very much

Chrome is one of the many apps I use on a day-to-day basis, so why bother if I choose a different browser every single day?! I like the way how the browser syncs all of my things, like bookmarks, history, and tabs on any device, so I can access them whenever I need to. Same goes for the data. While I like the many features in the mobile version of Google Chrome, I have found quite a few flaws. Among them are the lack of extension support (on PCs and Macs), a reduced set of preferences, limited ability to display the desktop version of some (but not all) websites, and the ability to make Chrome the default browser in iOS (as Apple does not allow it, instead making Safari the default browser system-wide; in macOS, this is no problem at all). But otherwise, this is a great app if you want to surf the Internet and rely on the power of Google on the go. (And in the process, saving lots of hassle!)

- One Thing unappealing to my eyes

I think Chrome is a great app and, I have been using it for a few years. I didn’t think that you had to update it, so I missed it for a whole year. When I decided to update it, I first looked at the reviews. People had been saying that it had been jumbled up, but I didn’t see that. Another person said that it was harder to delete a tab (although, it wasn’t), so I tried deleting a tab. Usually it took away the tab slowly if it was my only one, and it would make me tap a plus sign to get another one. This time, It took it away very fast, and it hurt my eyes. Once it was there, and then you press an ‘x’ and it was gone. IT REALLY HURTS MY EYES! I wish I hadn’t even updated it. It may not seem serious, but it is to me!

- Love Chrome but the new update is making things a hassle

Chrome is great for everything and works across all my devices so it’s nice but the app recently changed one of their buttons and is making it a hassle to use. The center button at the bottom of the screen used to pull up the search bar a the keyboard which made it easy instead of having to reach to the top of the screen to tap the omnibar to start searching. It is now a new tab button that is really frustrating as I instinctively tap that button when I pull up a new tab. So now I have to close the second new tab and then tap the omnibar at the top of my iPhone which has a pretty lengthy screen. A bit of a regression in terms of user friendliness so I’m writing this in hopes of them changing the button back or at least giving us the option to choose what the button does.

- Unreliable and snooping

Completely unreliable on iOS because if you forget an load a pdf webpage —-OOPS! You’ve just crashed Chrome and you’ll need to reload your pages. Sometimes they reload, sometimes they don’t. And Google INC will always have better data available to them than you will as to what your open pages were. Google’s Chrome is just another way for the company to track everything you do online and sell that data for advertising. Web pages frequently load slowly but in return for that you get the luxury of having adverts shoved in your face! BUY THINGS! NOW! Sometimes these ads will crash Chrome as well. Maybe it’s more secure than other browsers but it’s not secure from their data vacuuming. Back in the day, Chrome was really the only alternative to IE, but now there are lots of quite frankly better choices. I like DDG a lot. But if you like a lack of privacy and constant tracking and instability the this is your browser!

- Just a blank screen and a sweet search bar,

Baby, that’s all we need. I have always liked googles minimalist approach and that’s why I use it over aol. Because I’m easily distracted. And now my phone, the brick of metal and glass that I use to obtain all my knowledge, is tainted. When I open my phone to search on chrome “who sings that song about a plastic cup?”, I have to get past all of my other notifications and try not to get sidetracked. And now, by adding news stories to the new tab tab, you have ruined everything. I can’t simply search for something. I’m now inundated with more “news” that I don’t care about interfering with my quest for knowledge. I’ve looked for a toggle to turn if off to no avail. I’ve used chrome for awhile but this is too much. I’m also upset you got rid of the 3D Touch, copy/paste option. That was the only time I ever used 3D Touch was to open articles (I found elsewhere) and read them. Please address these issues. Sour in Saskatoon

- Problem saving bookmarks

Right now, it is really annoying to save bookmarks. My Bookmark Bar has 14 main folders and 186 subfolders (yes, I just counted), plus hundreds of actual bookmarked sites. The bookmarked sites don't show up while I try to save a new bookmark... but the 186 subfolders do. So if I need to save a new bookmark, this app forces me to scroll past ALL of my folders and subfolders (which this app alphabetizes - meaning they are NOT arranged in the order I have them on desktop) to FIND the folder I want to Save Bookmark in. This is ridiculous. I would LOVE to be able to FIRST select one of the 14 main folders in my Bookmarks Bar, and THEN scroll to the correct subfolder and simply save the new bookmark. Funny enough, this is the EXACT system you have in place for FINDING a bookmark that I've already saved. Sooo... you have a great system in place for FINDING a bookmark, but SAVING A NEW ONE is a nightmare. If you could find it in your hearts to update this, I'd be hugely grateful!!

- Pop-ups

Despite the fact that I have checked my settings numerous times and have “block pop-ups” enabled, I continue to be bombarded by quite obviously malicious pop-ups. The only options I have are to press “ok” and quickly close the tab that is now open to a malicious site, or completely delete the app every time that happens (about every 45 seconds on certain sites.) I used to love using this app for all of my internet browsing, but it has been rendered unusable. Constantly getting pop-ups on wikipedia pages and articles from reputable sources (which I have no problems with on my computer) is absolutely unacceptable. I love google products and the company, and if this problem is fixed then I will most certainly continue using this app as my main browser, but for now I simply cannot because I have to protect my device and my security. Truly disappointing.

- New version an unusable Safari clone

Okay, I’ve searched for something, and it was nice to be able to go back to the search results, and have them all still there so I could try multiple options for finding what I wanted. But that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing I EVER will want to search for. I try changing my search terms to refine my results, and Chrome snaps it back to the last thing I searched for, maybe... thinking that I had made a mistake when I changed it? I don’t get it. Also, before, you’d get the “sponsored” or “recommended“ results first, and you’d understand that you had to scroll past those ones to find what you needed. Now... there’s nothing past those ones! Maybe I’m going off the deep end, maybe there are some bugs with the new version that have yet to be ironed out ... but boy, is it sure annoying in the meantime! Like someone else said, if I wanted to use Safari, I would. Don’t be like Safari.

- Old look is dead

Google officially killed the old look of Chrome. You used to be able to revert to the older and more functional layout by adjusting hidden flags. This was removed in the latest update and I really hate it. The new look makes everything too big. Finding tabs is actually harder and the new tab manager makes tabs not “feel” like web pages. Every time I open a new tab I almost hit the “close all” button which would be catastrophic. This looks closer to Safari than ever. If I wanted Safari, I’d just use it since it’s already in my phone. Google should be setting themselves apart and pushing the standards and not following other tech companies. I also just don’t understand why the new “in” look is flat graphics, oversized buttons or icons, and huge amounts of wasted whitespace. I have a large phone. I don’t need help with giant menus and buttons that look like they were designed for a senior citizen who forgot their glasses. And what does Google have against labels on the bottom menu bar and in the tab switcher? Sometimes I like to read what I’m about to select before I touch it. The one good thing is the compact menu. It’s concise and reachable. Bring back the customizability that used to exist in software and let me choose how I make my own device look. I don’t need to be forced into the user experience that you think I want.

- Change to look of chrome

I first have to say that I love chrome. It was always my browser of choice. I just updated it and now it’s not as good. I’m sure bugs were fixed and things were improved but what I really don’t like about the new chrome is the new set look. The think I loved about the only look was the sharpness of everything. It looked really good and totally different from any browser. Then you roll out this new look, and let me say that it is terrible the sharpness is gone and everything feels like it’s made for the elderly and children. It is terrible looking. Everything is sized up to be bigger and everything looks like it’s child guarded. It just doesn’t look right. I’ve searched for a way to change it back but that doesn't seem to be an option. I would delete this review if an option was made to allow you to change it back.

- Overall a great browser for mobile with some kinks

I love chrome mostly because it saves my passwords and bookmarks in the same place. I use chrome on my PC, and its also nice to see my open tabs on my iPad or phone when I walk into another room and forget what the screen said. Writing this reveiew because I just found a pretty horrendous bug in this app involving the Gmail web client on the iPad 9.6 running iOS 11.4. Was trying to send an email within the “compose” popup within the Chrome Browser. I typed my whole email then selected to add an attachment. I didn’t see my file, so I selected to cancel the file upload. This brought me to a blank Chrome logo and the Chrome app was unresponsive. I was forced to reset the app causing me to lose my work. Hope they fix this quick because its a repro rate of 100%.

- Stopped using due to full screen spam ads

I've always enjoyed using Chrome as my default browser on iPhone, until about two months ago i began experiencing spam ads that would pop up and take over the entire app functioning. Even when I would close the window and the app and reopen it, the ad would pop up again. There was no option except to click on the ad, which one time i did, and it led me to further spam pages that asked me for my personal info. I have even deleted the app from my phone and then downloaded it again, but inevitably the same thing would happen again. Because of this, unfortunately I have had to stop using Chrome. This problem has not occurred with Safari, so for now I'm sticking with that. I'm writing this in the hopes that it can be addressed, so I can safely return to using Chrome again. Thank you!

- Unnecessary Changes

I really liked the interface of Chrome. It was fairly similar to adjust to from the PC because they are so similar. Now I have to adapt to this new interface that looks similar to Safari. I dislike Safari's interface with the tabs and other settings in a low bar because I felt that it was inconvenient. Now that Chrome has switched to this new interface, I find it very difficult to adjust my mind on this system especially since this is the browser that I only use. I do like that I can access many of the settings (e.g. History) without having to open up a new tab. Other than this, there weren't any issues the previous interface. It would be lovely if the developers reach back for a conversation with this. If not, then either give us the option to use the previous interface or undo the update.

- New update is a tad buggy

The recent March update has a few issues with it? The main issue I face is when I try to hit the tab button and look at all of my open tabs. When I exit a tab to do that, all of my tabs disappear and I can only see the black/grey background, along with the New Tab, Tab Count, and Options buttons. When I hit them they don't do anything, and I have to restart the app to have my tabs come back. I can't tell if it's because I have a gazillion tabs open (which I wasn't facing this issue a few days ago, before I updated and had a bunch of tabs open) or if it's just a bug with the new update. Otherwise, it works great! I just hope this gets fixed :D

- Constant Crashing

Chrome has been my main browser for yearsss. As of lately, it constantly crashes. Everytime I close out of it to check on a different app, when I open it back up I have to Restore my tabs. But there have been multiple times when I open it up and it doesn’t give me the option to restore. I have to scroll and scroll and scroll through my history to try and find the pages I had open. The first time it did it was when I had certain tabs up for a long time and it was impossible to find them again since the date I originally opened them were more than a week or two old. Wish they would fix it. An update late last year had this same kind of bug, but I thought it had been fixed. Pleaaase get this corrected!

- Increasingly poor & invasive updates

Breaking my silence in the 7yrs I’ve shopped in the App Store w/o one review to express my frustration w/ the most recent update to the Google Chrome app that I’m using on my new generation iPad. One, it auto-updated; so that p*ssed me off, on sight. Then, when I saw how utterly hideous the pages were, that added a whole other level of outrage. I’ve been too busy this week to research ways to reverse the update (like I successfully did with my phone) and got a feel for the performance, which - not to my surprise - is also lackluster. Additionally, the bottom toolbar that holds the autocorrect/-fill covers the content near the bottom of the page, which was not the case in previous versions. So not only am I being force-fed your incompetence, I will also be forced to look at your ugly mug during that realization..? No bueno. The Google’s privacy violations were more than enough, actively researching alternatives.

- From great to terrible

I’ve been using just chrome for years, until recently been going great. However now that I can literally not search for anything on chrome without 100,000 ads popping up for my search, especially if it’s a product. And this is not just on chrome, it’s any app I use that has ads. For example. I recently purchased a different VPN since my ISP(looking at you Spectrum) is terrible. I’ve already purchased the product through no effort on chromes part. Now I cannot pull anything up without seeing an ad for it. And I do mean I cannot get away from it on any apps, even after marking the ad as irrelevant. Pop up blockers are apparently being disabled, started seeing more and more get through so I guess it’s time to switch back to Firefox only. And please note, when force fed ads over and over for products means I will never buy said product at all or ever again.

- I hate using chrome on iOS can’t restore tabs after it crashes

This app is awful. It errors often (“oh snap!”), and crashes pretty consistently - losing every open tab. I have syncing on, but it rarely actually syncs. Unlike Firefox, you can’t manually sync. (That I can find). I’m so tired of chrome, and google’s stuff is proprietary enough that you can’t choose other default browsers. I just lost another 40-some tabs today. Chrome let me restore them after the first crash, then proceeded to crash again. I reopened chrome, saw it “sync”, it crashed again, and when I tried to recover recent tabs, there was nothing - because it synced right after it crashed! Too frustrating to depend on. I looked on my pc’s browser and it showed no synced tabs from my iPad. This has been going on for over 2 years with no improvement. Bookmark all open tabs regularly or you’ll be screwed. :(

- This was great

I love chrome. I gave it 2 stars, but let’s be honest, it’s still the best browser out there. BUT, this new update took a 5 star rating and turned it into a 2 Star. I abhor tr new layout. I stopped using safari precisely because I HATED the forward and back (and all the function buttons for that matter) buttons along the bottom of the screen. It makes zero sense to have address and navigation buttons in different places. Chrome had it beautifully placed. And what do they do? take 10 steps back to do exactly what their competitors failed to move on from 8 years ago. Their multiple tabs are not nearly as easily reached and navigated. Not tough to use at all, but another definite step back in terms of intuitive design. I’m not here telling you not to download it, but for the LOVE OF GOD put stuff back where it belongs!!!!!

- Typing lags and bookmark icons have disappeared.

UPDATE: Still issues. Now the bookmarks don't show unless I go hunting for them in a menu. So, now they are still gone from the old bookmark grid page style AND NOW I have to actually LOOK for them. Why? Browser is slow, typing lags horribly, bookmarks icons disappear when scrolling down the screen. Chrome for iPad keeps forgetting my passwords. Please let us have the old bookmark method back, where we would have larger square icons that did not disappear when I scroll down the screen AND they sorted themselves horizontally across the screen, from left to right. I remove the titles on all of my bookmarks to be able to fit more on my desktop Chrome browser. The list-view of small icons is really poor design. I used to rave about how wonderful this browser was, but back in March, it seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

- LOVE the Update!

No more thumb stretch, HOORAY!!! I LOVE that you moved the back button and tabs down to the bottom! My thumb thanks you as well. I try to never use Safari so I can’t say if it looks like Safari as the Reviewer who didn’t care for the update mentioned. Frankly, I only care about the “useability” (this should be a word and not 2 words). I’m a busy mom with young kids so I need to be able to navigate quickly and switch between saved tabs often for teams schedules and recipes and shopping and poison control. You have made that infinitely easier with this update. BAM 6 screen views at once, swipe for 6 more....GAME CHANGER....dogs that ate entire packages of Oreos saved! Thank you.

- Password saving feature broken for good

I loved chrome as long as it lasted . But there is really no support system if something does not work . The password saving feature broke on my Mac, while it still works on other computers where I had my profile installed . But that does not help me a bit. I looked into every resource , downloaded the passwords, reinstalled them, even looked I to some quite tech websites and did everything suggested , wasted plenty of time on that . Final verdict - a browsing Maschine that collects all my personal information and passwords already makes me uncomfortable ( even I could not resist the convenience for the longest time ) but passwords that first start changing randomly and then the whole password saving function runs amok without that chrome has a solution for that made me pull the plug .

- Use this over Safari

Occasionally safari won’t show something properly or won’t respond to a button press. Chrome has been less buggy, even with the Apple website, which did not load the iPhone XS preorder page properly. I tried opening it in chrome and it worked just fine. Same thing with the Razer Blade website, button presses responded more often. Safari loaded something that chrome didn’t only once, which was the Samsung Galaxy website. Also safari doesn’t sync with my PC, which Chrome does, so that’s a plus. It also has a smarter layout and the new update makes it look better than ever.

- I have an issue while uploading

I enjoy this browser. However I want to address that since the last update and this new firmware I have an issue with uploading documents online on this browser. I’m using an IPad Pro 10.5. On the last firmware anytime I selected the document and hit upload it will just go white with the google chrome logo in the center of the screen. With this new firmware, once I hit upload and it will display my open tabs, and I’m able to exit the tab selection by tapping on done. I have closed the app and have attempted over and over. I hate using Safari, but I need to upload my resume. Please fix!

- Latest Update Ruined the App

This has always been my favorite browser but the last few updates have no improved the app. The latest update has caused the keyboard to be so laggy that it is unusable. Also, my search suggestions stopped showing up from Google. Another recent update changed the layout to match Safari. I used to love to swipe through all of my open tabs & close the ones I needed to close quickly & easily. Now, the app goes to the “tiled” screen, where you see several tiny versions of each page. I have to click on each one to even tell what many of them are, & most of the time that page has to reload & many times fails doing that! It takes about 5x as long to go through & close tabs. Super annoying. Bring back the old way! (But first, fix the laggy keyboard because I can’t even use Chrome at this point. 🙄)

- I love it but seriously

Hey. No issues with the software as a whole, except one thing. And it has been there as long as I can remember. The close all tabs option. It’s ALWAYS been too close to the create new something or other and it doesn’t ask if you’re sure. Important purchase you’re working on, gone. Website you were saving for later, gone. Tabs you keep around just in case, gone. It just goes ahead and wipes everything. And with the most recent update it’s RIGHT NEXT TO THE CREATE NEW TAB OPTION. Can we at least give it an extra alert that asks,”are you sure you want to delete all tabs?” As a computer programmer this isn’t that hard. Please, I’m begging you.

- First app review !

I don’t do many reviews for apps in this store but ... Google chrome is amazing especially for storing data on your phone and computer, makes it so much easier, this version is great, I had this issue yesterday, I literally thought of suggesting to allow to use my chrome passwords , the only thing at the time was downloading all your passwords in PDF form, now Apple and google has made it so you can select auto fill passwords , chrome now is one of them! So I have my Apple and chrome all in one place. Maybe you saw me have the issue lol. Thanks for one of the best browsers and now more simple to use our stored private data.

- Terrible update

The interface is super clunky, and way more annoying than the streamlined tab layout from before where there was a small, unobtrusive button that opened the menu for the rest of the features like settings, bookmarks, history, etc., the fact that the bar is on the bottom of the screen now is just disorienting. I initially chose chrome because I liked the simple streamlined layout and safari had the clunky ui, but now chrome looks worse than safari, aesthetically speaking. Maybe give users the option to revert to the former? I like chrome and don’t want to stop using the app, but this update is definitely not worth the hassle. Edit: the app crashes way more frequently with this update as well

- Love it. Hate the update. Any way to downgrade?

Just use actual Chrome on a computer, it works way better then this app which has disappointed me more then I expected. I love using this app, but the update has completely threw me off. I often use google and when I'm scrolling down, my fingers are always on the bottom of the screen and swiping things all the time. I read a lot and the new google update isn't helping. I prefer the old version where everything is on top of the screen where I can easily swipe up to hide and not accidentally click a button to go back or forth when I don't need to. I just want to know if there's anyway to downgrade the app. I also had over 100 tabs open. I lost it all in an instant and have NO way of getting them back. I haven't the slightest clue what majority of the tabs were called and it's extremely difficult to try to find EVERYTHING all over again which I don't have time for. I need a section in which the tabs I have recently deleted, ON ACCIDENT CAUSE IM NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY WILLINGLY DO THAT, can be replaced in an instant. Without going into my history, because let's be honest. History is a mix of what happened on one tab. NOT ON ALL TABS THAT WE HAD. It's really starting to annoy me by how google chrome is starting to fail.

- What’s going on? If it ain’t broke- leave alone!

Sorry, but the latest update leaves something to be desired. Been trying to get used to it in last few days and there’s just something off about it. It’s lots more difficult to go back to a previous page, in fact, sometimes the back arrows are totally missing as well as other selections that used to be self evident. And I don’t like that black background! Yuk! Depressing!! Did you test this on anyone before you rolled it out? And the auto save of passwords feature seems to have decided to not work! I really liked that, but now it doesn’t even ask if I want Chrome to save or update for me, or it does so intermittently. Think you have some ‘splaining to do or fix it please! Thanks.

- Issues with playing audio while screen is off

Since the iOS 13 update I have had an issue with being able to play audio from any website in the background while my screen is turned off. Within about 1-2 min of the screen turning off the audio ceases to play until I unlock my phone and hit the play button on the site again. This makes it almost impossible to listen to any podcast without downloading the appropriate app, or as I learned last night, playing the audio in Safari. I much prefer the UI in Chrome and rather be able to use it exclusively, but as of now the only way for me to listen to most podcasts is by opening the site in Safari and playing it from there.

- “Add to Reading list” feature useful but limited

Ability to tag websites to read later is helpful & I use it all the time. However google developers would’ve been smart to take this feature a few steps further — 1. to be able to create folders within the “read later” option 2. Enable users to create bookmark these sites directly from “read later” list. As it is, if I want to add a permanent bookmark to a site I’ve marked as “read later” I have to open the site and create bookmark from that point. It should be doable just from the “read later” list. Chrome is still the fastest and most user friendly web search engine out there.

- Unusually High Battery Consumption

Hi Google team, I'm not sure why this is happening, but currently browsing through some pages and searches the app has consumed 40% of my battery's life in 20 minutes. Even opening after closing all other apps and opening chrome to view the opening page used up 2% (17% down to 15%) while on low battery mode. My phone has at most run 5-6 other apps today. By some deduction I found that chrome was responsible for the unusually high battery consumption. Please feel free to contact me for any other follow-up questions. This seems to be a disturbingly odd for a browser's behavior.

- The new chrome looks great

I absolutely love the new look of chrome as it is just more simplistic and the the multi-tasking mode makes things so much easier! This is something different which is great in my mind, it’s more of a browser made for the phone that works well with the display, rather than safari for example, which in my opinion was made just to access the internet and it doesn’t work well, whereas the new chrome is even better than it was before! I love it!! Keep up the good work!! *** Forgot to say that I love the idea of all the utilities such as searching is at the bottom for easy access!! :D

- iPhone X Users Avoid

I’ve been a longtime Chrome user on multiple iPhones throughout the years and overall it has been decent....until now. Even after all this time and multiple updates since the iPhone X was released, Chrome is still practically unusable on Apple’s new flagship device in landscape mode. In landscape mode it zooms in the page and won’t let you zoom out to see the whole webpage (seems this varies depending on the site). Another glaring issue is that you can’t tap the top of the screen to instantly scroll to the top of the current page in landscape mode. I’ve sent constructive feedback a few times already and never gotten a reply or even acknowledgement of them receiving it. Guess the team at google just don’t plan on fixing this glaring issue. iPHONE X USERS AVOID!

- Held back by Apple

I love Chrome, but this version is held back by Apple’s unfair and anticompetitive rules. I really hope that Apple adopt ethical app store guidelines that ensures a level playing field for all who enter. This browser can’t be as good as the built-in Safari browser because Apple forces 3rd party browsers to use the mobile Safari engine. In the meantime, Safari on iPad gets to use a full big-boy desktop engine. On the bright side, it is nice to have my Chrome bookmarks and passwords sync over. Too bad Apple won’t allow Google to also implement Chrome extensions. If that were something Google could control, I’d remove a star.

- I love Chrome

Chrome surpassed IE and now Edge a long time ago. Even on my iPad I prefer it to Safari, but one thing I wish Chrome and Safari would allow the user to do is set the default to always give us the Desktop version of the sites we visit. I hate having to go in for each site, every time I open a new tab, and telling it to give me the Desktop version. I only go to Desktop versions. I understand not everyone wants to pay for the extra data, but I suspect there are many people out there like me who don’t concern themselves with the extra data costs and need or want the full site. Please give us the option to make that a default setting.

- Update no longer saves incognito sessions

As stated in the title, after updating, it seems as though my sessions while browsing incognito do not get saved like they used to. Prior to this, I could close the app or leave it in the background and it would go back to incognito and IF I ever did lose my session, it would ask me to restore (to no avail due to it being incognito, which is expected and I was ok with that). Whenever I open the app now, it won’t even ask to “restore session” so I am assuming that this is intentional? If so, I am not a fan of this change but I am writing this to make you all aware of this change/bug. The app itself is good and I wish I could set it as my default browser to open links and what not. Thanks.

- Great app obviously but one annoying glitch

Google chrome is obviously a great app, and you don’t need me to tell you that. However, there as been one glitch lately that has been very annoying and the reason I am writing this review. About 75% of the time that I try to quickly google something, as I’m typing into the search bar, my keyboard disappears making me accidentally click on the suggested news on the homepage. This gets very annoying when I am attempting to quickly google something, and I do believe the problem is in the app as my phone doesn’t do this on any other app. Please help me with this so I can love Google Chrome again.

- Best thing ever

I have been using chrome for a while it is an amazing app read some of the views but it is a great app but I do have some ideas to make it better you don’t have to take these but make it where you can make an article because some people have things to say I think they should have a voice and try as hard as you can to add games because my kids love to play games on my phone but they go on chrome thinking it’s a game but then when they see it they get disappointed because they wanted to play a game but they have not explored I have not even explored but it is a great app

- Not a fan of v69

I used the new version for a few days to give it a chance. I like the way it looks but I hate everything else about it. What's with the GIANT real estate-hogging search button? Are people really so lazy that they want this? It functions exactly the same as tapping the URL bar. Pointless waste of space. Put the reload button back in the toolbar please. Or somewhere at the top. There are plenty of places it could go. I really hate the new tab management page too. I miss that you can't swipe to close them. Feels extremely clunky. I don't mind the navigation being at the bottom, and because of that I've switched to Safari for the time being. Not happy about it as I've previously avoided Safari like the plague but at least it has features I'll actually use. Can't say that about this latest Chrome update, so, goodbye.

- Bookmarks are gone, not user friendly

I really wanted to like this app since I use chrome on my MacBook and google drive is very important for my school work. Unfortunately, chrome for iPhone is not very user friendly which is surprising coming from google. Bookmarks should be the first thing you should see when you open a new page, not articles or ads you think we want to see. (We are humans, our interests always change, we look up random things we aren’t interested in.... stop trying to show us what YOU think we should look at). It’s also hard to sort through different pages you have open since they all basically pile on top of each other instead of being more spread it to see what was on that page. Guess I’m switching back to safari.

- Death to bing (a comedy monologue by billy)

I mean just applause to google for completely slaughtering bing, like what’s bing? I do not know. Like the only other browser that people still kinda know exists is safari and that’s because it comes with iPhones even though no one wants it, like that bs U2 album. Honestly who even likes U2 anymore, I’m being honest when I say that I’ve never heard one of their songs. If you have, applause to you for having such a long attention span, because that stuff is BOORRINNG. It’s very sad though that we’ve lost bing, I think I will set up a funeral for them, be right back —————————————————————————————— BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR MY NEXT SCETCH, THE FUNERAL OF BING!!!!!!!

- Love it

I love using chrome on my phone and that I can send a link from one of my devices to another without saving it as a bookmark and finding it(like as if I was playing that game called Where is Waldo?) but I would like it what my suggest is about so it can be easier for me to swap profiles between my home account and school account. The suggestion that I think is going to be beneficial to everyone: create an update where people on mobile that have chrome installed and has different gmail accounts and that people can just click swap profile just like on the computer, and that the data would be in separate areas but won’t be affected with combining them together and just call it a night.

- New tabs missing a critical feature

I blows my mind that we’re in 2019 and the google devs still haven’t implemented a feature that allows you to add your own custom links to websites on a new tab page. Google chrome randomly deletes and adds whatever it wants whenever it wants. I used to have the google website link on there, but suddenly it disappeared even though it’s my most visited website. It just does not make any sense what downside there will be in having custom links on a new tab page. Also, I was once forced to uninstall the app because there is no other way to close any tabs other than clicking on the tab number icon, and if there is an intrusive popup on screen, good luck closing out of it. Another feature that’s missing.

- Horrible update

I don't understand the need to "fix" things that don't need fixing. This update has changed the location of every option like opening a new tab, which aside from annoying is now harder to access. Closing tabs is also made harder to do for some reason, and the entire browser is slower and keeps crashing. It's changed to a completely non user friendly interface, and it's tempted me delete the app entirely because using it is just an extremely frustrating experience. It's currently more trouble than it's worth, which is especially frustrating because it was much easier to use before. At the very least there should be the option to change back to the old style, the way they've done with their new gmail design (which for the record is a terrible design too).

- Latest version is awful

The latest version (june 2018) is the worst ever. It crashes whenever I jump out of a chrome browser window to go to another app for info, even if just for a minute or so. When I try to go back into the chrome browser window back from the other app, chrome crashes and shows the white screen with logo. Then it freezes for about 30 seconds and then shows the “chrome did not shut down correctly, do you want to restore?”. If that happened every so often, I would not complain, but not every time I want to go to another app and then go back. Terrible update! I am using an ipad running latest ios 11.3.1. Please fix immediately. I will have to use another browser app until you do. Very dissatisfied. Never had a problem before with chrome before this update.

- A decent app, have a few critiques though

I usually use chrome so I can access my history and passwords from browsing on my laptop. The app is fine- but prefer to use safari if I don’t need chrome. This is primarily because of two reasons- the close all tabs button and the lack of reading features on chrome. I seem to always hit the “close all tabs button” when my finger is just resting on the screen and it’s an absolute pain to go into my history and restore the tabs one by one. Either move the button, or allow me to restore all of the tabs I just deleted without making me tap through my history 50 million times. As someone who is an avid reader of online articles and stories, the fact that you can’t change the font size in chrome is appalling. Sure you can zoom in, but then you have to scroll left and right as well as up and down, which sometimes ruins the immersion when I’m reading a good story. I might be nitpicking, but these things drastically effect my experience with the app and I’m 100% sure that they wouldn’t be that hard to change.

- Don’t like Re-design

There are a few things I really don’t like about the re-designed app. Biggest thing is that the navigation is now on the bottom of the page. That is not intuitive at all. I’ve been using chrome over Safari because for exactly that reason - page navigation is in the bottom. Now chrome behaves the same. If you want to switch that - do be it - but at least make it configurable (i looked around but didn’t see anything to move the navigation back up). The other thing I don’t like is the grid layout of other open tabs. I liked the previous version much better, as it’s also more consistent with the open apps behavior on many smart phones.

- Chrome problems

At first I thought my phone was the problem until I talked a few of my friends on Facebook. I don’t know which update or updates caused these problems. My screen can’t be used in different places at different times, when I open tabs it will freeze my phone and sometimes it won’t unfreeze even when I shut it down, if I’m even able at times. Sometimes I have to remove the battery. Another is when I go to a site and the screen goes completely black, usually followed by locking up. I search a site and it acts like it’s going to it then the tab closes and I have to start over. And before you ask, I checked and I’m not set to restricted. There’s even more and now a lot of folks are talking about it on Facebook and recommending other search engines. I liked google chrome prior to this

- something I would love

Hello, Chrome is a great app and especially the best because you also can’t delete it. In Chrome, I would love a new feature that you can take a photo of something like an artwork for example and then it will come up with the full picture. I do art classes and I would love to find the pictures they put in the books. So can you make something that you can take a picture and then it will originally give you the image you’re looking for or related images. Overall, this is great! :)

- Worst browser in History since last few updates killed its usability

Over the last 2-3 updates, Google Chrome has become so terrible to use, I am at the stage of recommending ANY other Browser and I can guarantee you will be much happier off. * Seriously, every time I open my iPad now, it brings up Chrome, however it is dropping/crashing forcing it to refresh, and now whenever it refreshes it FORCES mobile pages onto you. Especially in Facebook! Nothing is more annoying than Mobile pages, yet Chrome is forcing this on you with every drop/crash. It never used to be like this and needs to be fixed ASAP! * Double spaces in Facebook: About 4-5 updates ago, Chrome has become the only browser to insert double spaces in Facebook. Whilst you think it wouldn't be annoying, believe me when I say it is more than frustrating with tens of thousands of complaints. But guess what? Google has become so large now, they don't actually care about you the end user anymore. This should have been fixed almost 12 months ago, but you guessed it, nope no fix in sight for this annoying bug. Please fix these issues ASAP! ...and by ASAP, I mean NOW! No really!....months later and the issues still persist. It seems google is trying to kill off Chrome :/ Edit: Over a year since I wrote the above and nothing has been fixed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

- Most recent update

I’ve been waiting for the mobile app to get a hi update for a while it was clunky and hard to use while on the go away from home, by now the new Ui is amazing and very fast wow every little detail like new tabs automatically opening to google is just perfect and so seemless as well as super fast. The search button at he bottom that allows you to start typing with out needing 2 hands to google something is perfect that has been my biggest problem when trying to google something quickly. 10/10 update!

- Design Fault

I love using Chrome on mobile, and its always been my default browser, but the close all tabs button is an incredible nuisance. Its so close to the new tab button that opening a new tab is always a frightening experience, and I’ve lost so many tabs and progress on things I’ve been doing or reading because I’ve accidentally hit the close all tabs button and look, there goes all 40 tabs I had open. And then none of them show up in recently closed tabs either, so I have to go through an entire month’s worth of history to find my tabs again. This doesn’t feel bad enough for a 1 star review, to be fair, but it is something I know has been happening to quite a few people, and no one looks at reviews unless they’re 1 star.

- Useless

I so so so wanted Chrome to be my main browser, as even though I am an iPhone user, 90% of my stuff is Google based. But this browser is just useless. Almost every time I tap on something it gets stuck anywhere else from 20% to 50% loading and just stops. Won’t move. If I refresh or try again, it stops at the exact same place and that’s it - it will not load. At first I thought it was the web page/s I was trying to open and traffic, but when it happened continually no matter what link or page I was trying to open, I tried the same link/s and pages in safari - and they opened without any wait time or issue. What is the use of a browser that can’t open simple pages or links?! Beyond disappointing.

- Was perfect - now, not so much

Before the layout, interface and design was brilliant, so clean and perfect and slightly unique compared to other browser apps (e.g. Safari) But this new layout design change update is almost exactly what I was running away from compared to competing browsers.. It was a total punch in the face and I was shocked more in horror than any delightment whatsoever. :/ I'd love to have a slight hope for it to return or at least be able to find an in between with the earlier design and whatever they're trying to do now. That's why my score is in between, not necessarily good or bad as I loved it before, but now it's a desaster as stated in title.

- Constantly crashing since update

Since the latest update the browser constantly goes to black page like it is going to a new incognito tab and then won’t refresh the webpage or the app crashes. I have to close the app and reopen to view the webpages. Most of the time it asks me to restore the pages I had open. It is frustrating as this isn’t the first time I have updated the app which was working with no issues to a version that crashes constantly. Please fix as I regretting updating and will most likely not update again once fixed. When the app is working properly it is great.

- This Looks Like Safari...

I have absolutely no idea why they had to change the perfect design of the app, to make it look like a rip off of its competition. If I wanted this layout, I would use Safari, even that looks better than this redesign. Google, I recommend you take a number from Snapchat, when they changed the layout of it, nobody liked it, but at least they could still remember how to navigate it. Whereas this is way different than what great looking browser we had before. This new update is terrible, I sincerely hope some of the people at Google read this, otherwise you’re not listening to your customers, at least give us an option to change it back to the old Chrome. Thanks.

- It’s amazing and I totally recommend it!

Now google chrome is absolutely amazing! It has everything you need it’s just like any other google apps they are also wonderful but this one particularly caught my eye as it had mini games that you could play for free! Namely, T-Rex Runner and many more I have heard rumours it has been hacked but I’m sure those are fake seem as though I play it everyday! This app is wonderful and I totally recommend it for teachers, students and even workers and many more!

- IS IT REALLY LIKE THE GOOGLE CHROME WE KNOW?

Google Chrome is a great app for using the web and connecting to the rest of the world. But... Is it really like the Google Chrome we know? As you may know, Google Chrome is a site on many of our laptops and computers used to explore the web. It has great features that are really useful. Though it has amazing features and differs from other internet browsers on our laptops,it is a different story whilst using Google Chrome on our phones. If you haven't noticed already when using the app Google Chrome on our phones it really doesn't look like the one we see on our computer. We are just using an app that just does and looks like Google, the app. It doesn't share many of the features with the Google Chrome we know on our laptops. It has nothing much in common with the one on our computers, it has more in commen with the app Google if anything. So, is it really like the Google Chrome we all well and truely know?

- Good browser, annoying bug

Love having chrome on iOS! It’s very useful. Power optimisations could be realised (please, please for chrome on macOS!!!) However, on iOS, when selecting ‘open in...’ for a PDF file natively in chrome, it never copies the file to any option (including notes, google drive, iCloud files, etc); merely making an unreadable ~10KB file of the same name. Very annoying when trying to save files to google drive. If that could be fixed, it would be almost perfect. Thank you!

- I loved chrome

The Chrome app was far superior to safari now it’s just clunky, it actually looks safari. Did you guys just copy them? Anyway, the new tab screen is over complicated as I can’t remove the permanent button eg history, reading list. I don’t use any of them I just want to search! Another issue is putting the buttons on the bottom of chrome. I find it annoying that if I want to go back to a previous link that I have to find the small button in the bottom corner of my phone. I don’t like how you’ve dedicated an entire screen to logging into google, I don’t want google tracking everything and to have my name. It’s also annoying that it’s next to the tab button so I keep accidentally clicking it. The worst thing of all would be the adding of new tabs. Yes I can see all my tabs at once, but I’m on a phone, and the new layout is more complex. It’s just harder to close tabs when previously it was an easy swipe. I’ve been using chrome for 5 years and nothing else but I guess it’s time for a change.

- I would be indebted to you if you did this

I love chrome iOS, I’ve not had any problems with it which is great, but, I would love a way to organised the tabs, I have an iPad that I use for university purposes as well as personal purposes , and it would be great if there was a way to separate the tabs into new windows or subcategories or something to easily switch between and navigate school related webpages and personal casual web surfing related pages, if you could somehow do this it would be amazing.

- Fix ‘search for this image’!

'Search for this image' a) brings up news stories instead of images now, & b) when you click through again to 'More sizes’ it either doesn’t find any matches at all, or find some tiny one. It used to be the best thing on the net & it’s a terrible loss. Please fix it. Also Chrome for iPad crashes all the time & often doesn’t offer ‘restore tabs’ option. Also terrible. Please be more stable, introduce a ‘restore previous session’ option like on desktops, & add a ‘bookmark all current tabs’ option. Also please introduce a ‘reader view available' like Safari has.

- Better than Safari but...

In my opinion Google Chrome is a great app wayyy better than safari but why, why and why is it 17+ I just don’t understand that is sooooo un nessasry I mean, seriously? It should be available for all ages even everyone in my class uses google chrome and I’m 110% sure we are not 17 or over. Overall Google Chrome is the third best app in App Store. (First would be minecraft, second roblox, third google chrome tell me if there are any better apps)

- Doesn’t hold position on page when reopening anymore

What happened to jumping to where you left off reading a page when reopening the app? I read A LOT on Chrome - long, long pages often - and previously it jumped to where you were up to on the page the last time you used it, which was VERY convenient. Now when the app is reopened, it refreshes to the top of the open page/tab and it’s super frustrating!! I’m not sure how that’s helpful when you can already just tap the top of the screen to ‘return to top’ anyway.

- Was a good app until someone stole my details

So I used to use this app a lot. It was my default browser for along time until yesterday. Turns out that hackers have a cheat way to get into the browser and can get your details if you order something online from a legitimate store. So not only do these people now have my name and credit card details they also tried to take money from my account. My bank stopped them but now I cannot use my account for anything. Which means I have to starve for a week until I get a new card. I’ve also discovered that Google and Apple know about this little hacking trick and have yet to fix it.

- Not liking the new layout

I agree with most of the reviews here - the new layout is moving towards the “Apple” design is lacking the traditional favourite elements from Google. The tab page thumbnails are well thought but the website titles are way too small. Please add an option to change back to the previous layout. The bottom bar is in direct contradiction to the Chrome philosophy of reducing obstruction in viewing. The search button is a direct duplicate of the search bar. Back and forward and others work just fine in the top bar as in the previous editions.

- Great app but a few features could make it amazing

I love this app due to the syncing of all my history and bookmarks. The new update feels smooth and easy to use on larger phones, but I think that if you could add vibration feedback when you force touch certain buttons such as the tab button (where you can open and close tabs), kind of nit picky I know but it would be a nice feature.

- Search history still remains after disabling web activity

Before the update, everything is working fine like it should. After the update, my google search history remains for no apparent reason. Had all of my associated accounts’ web activity disabled but still seeing the search history pop up whenever I try to search something on google. Individually check all if my account, literally no history found in any of them but still seeing the search history on the google search bar. Had to individually delete one by one on the search bar itself.

- Not really a review more of a request

I am someone who uses tabs a lot but 3/5 times I will hit incognito mode because it’s too close to the new tab button. I would have to get out, close the tab and try again and I would think it would be better if the incognito tab had some sort of lock of “are you sure” text to even having it at the bottom

- Fuzzy Google Search image results (bug?)

Since the update I find that all images from an image search are very fuzzy when enlarged. Only the thumbnails in the results pages are sharp, but when you click on the thumbnails for larger versions they no longer produce higher resolution ones. Seems like enlarged thumbnails instead.... Should have mentioned this is on an iPadPro. Oct update: you sure know how to messed things up. Just installed the update and am now dealing with GREATLY REDUCED RESPONSE TIMES. Sorry, but I am going to install a better browser...

- Did not liked at all

I can not view websites complete, as i used to do before in older version. Even i tried desktop website but its same. Can i get my google chrome older version back please. It was so nice. But this new version is not good at all. It looks like you tried to copy safari. We already have safari in our iphones. But i was using Google chrome because its different and more useful. Well but if you want to make it safari then make it safari and we will look out for another browser. Please try to keep chrome powerful ad it was before.

- Stop defaulting searches to Yanky Land

Time to get with the global world Google, and stop forcing users to CONSTANTLY having to manually change the “default” search engine AWAY from the YANKY LAND version. If I’m in one of the other 160+ countries of the world searching for a LOCAL discount, restaurant, etc I don’t want to read all about the U-S-of-Ah. Let users FIX their home page ONCE and move on instead of constantly wasting time retyping our PERFERRED home page EVERY time we open the Chrome Browser.

- New Update Suggestion

Chrome is a good app, but it would be good if it would be able to accomodate the chromecast device, similar to that of the desktop version of google chrome. So having the chromecast button would allow users to connect to chromecast and also be beneficial for use through a mobile device.

- search disappears as I type

ever since the force-fed news feature has appeared (which I absolutely hate,) there has been another issue of my search disappearing as I type it. I will be typing into the search bar and then half way though, my text will have suddenly disappeared and the screen will be lists of ‘news’ article suggestions. I do not want my search to be deleted because the search is the only reason I use Chrome in the first place. And NO, I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE NEWS SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT. Please fix the issue and remove the awful news feature.

- Chrome is great and all but...

Why did you change the google image layout in the last update? I get what you were trying to do, but it terrible. Please inform me of how to revert this back, or in later updates, provide the option to switch between the new style and old. This way when you mess up, we don’t suffer. I’m switching to another search engine temporarily until this is fixed. -thank you

- Good, but not good enough, eager for updates

I used to be a Chrome fan, i think it’s the best browser. Well it’s good in many ways, minimalistic layout, good speeds and many things. But when Mozilla released the 57 update on Firefox, Google Chrome is outdated. Firefox was much faster than Chrome, had a smarter layout so I used Firefox. I hope Google can come up with one of those updates that Mozilla did. That will really enhance Chrome’s performance

- Better if you could select different search engines

I really like google chrome, but on the computer, you can select any website to be the main search engine. On the iOS version you can only select google, yahoo!7 or bing. Better if you could select other things because I use DuckDuckGo.

- Needs an update

This app really helped me a lot in the home schooling! After I did my work, I just watched videos and played online games. It’s really good but I think it needs an update because that annoying bug messes things up. The update should be bug free! Still, this is a really good app!

- The close all button is annoying

I use chrome nearly daily, so this problem occurs very frequently. So all I ask is for there to be an option, where the close all option can be hidden. Because currently, the placement of this button is just so conveniently positioned where my palm of my hand could tap it closing all the tabs I have opened (which is a lot).

- New update - Fantastic

Don’t normally write a review ... think this is the first one ever. The new chrome app is fantastic the ability to go between screens see what you have closed and the overall layout is awesome. Not many apps can improve so much with an update but this has done so well !!

- Preferred browser, but...

Chrome is my preferred browser mainly due to the ability to easily send webpages to the Mac or one of my desktops. Browsing the net at night however is a strain on the eyes. I use f.lux’s darkroom mode for Scrivener & enable dark mode flags when on Mac/PC Chrome, sadly no such support for iOS — using Apple’s smart Invert just doesn’t cut it as an alternative as it disables night shift & lights iPhone’s native dark mode up enough to melt retinas. Tl;dr: add dark mode flags

- Disappointing update

Can’t really understand why with the last update you can’t see anymore the open tabs in a compact way (up to 6 tiles on an iphone xs screen), that was so useful when you had several tabs open and need to go from one to another. Now you must go through all of them as you can see at best two at once and need to scroll up and down like an idiot to be able to find what you’re looking for! Change it back or 1 star for the rest of your life!

- Works well, but can’t save photos

Chrome works really well and the layout is good, but it won’t let me save any photos to camera roll! With safari however, it’s as simple as pressing the share button and finding save to camera roll. Please fix this!

- PDF Downloads

Mostly great, I really like having everything sync across my google account however I download PDFs all the time and it doesn’t work in chrome, so I have to switch to safari. I was hoping it would be fixed soon but I think I’ll be swapping to safari for a while until the next update ):

- Can’t download files on iPad??

Overall great browser, however, I can’t download any documents via the chrome app on my iPad. Every time I need to download a file I have to copy the link and open it in Safari so that I can download it. This is BEYOND annoying and unnecessary. PLEASE PLEASE update this as it’s such a hassle and should be a straightforward process. I shouldn’t have to open a different browser to be able to download a simple file. PLEASE FIX

- This is awesome!

This is awesome because of how it works! The internet is good when I use it all the time and it’s really annoying when these adds pop up on my screen. All I wish is in Chrome there are no adds when you search it up. Anyways it is good in how I explained it before. So hope you enjoy!

- Why are u all complaining?

I think this browser is perfectly fine and you guys are making a big fuss. What’s the deal? I believe that there’s nothing wrong and it is fine just the way it is. Don’t put the developers down people! Encourage them! 😉😉

- So much faster

I have an iPad Air from 2013. In the past year I’ve noticed webpages taking forever to load, particularly when using Chrome. Since this update everything is noticeably faster. Very happy that I can stick with my iPad for a while longer.

- Better then safari

Although its ALOT like google, its amazing , its WAAY better then safari, u can easily access anything and its simple.I also like the backgrounds and how u can get to docs just like that. This is a great web and I recommend it to all. U can even download apps on it!

- Awesome

Google Chrome is way better than Safari and Microsoft Edge. You will find yourself a lot happier and there is incognito mode which can allow you to browse privately and your history won’t show. Hands down best search app out there in the world.

- OK... Let’s get this right...

OK... Let’s get this right... I have had some issues with the app as it sometimes glitches or self-reject itself or is very slow... And also when I turn on dark mode it is still light... If you want to feature a new update then at least you’ve got to do it right 🙄...

- Links and tabs

Why are links suddenly opening in a new tab? Its ridiculous and absolutely annoying; now I need to close twice as many tabs, and get out of one tab and go back to the previous, when searching. It’s a waste of time; please fix it. (Or at least make it easier to find out how.)

- absolutely amazing

honestly, the reason I love chrome is that you can delete all of your search history at once. nothing else needs to be said. i am truly grateful and i wish the google company the best of luck in the future

- Now with a Fresh, Awesome New Look

Love the new look! Of course the cool Chrome features like Cloud Print, data friendly image loading and support for latest web features are all still there. I enjoy using this browser so much.

- Crashes

Since the recent update Chrome constantly crashes and sometimes doesn’t restore my previous tabs. Pages freeze and some pages don’t even load. I like Chrome because it’s fast and a good layout, but this update has really been putting me behind in work and I have to use a more reliable browser. Please fix this so I can use it again properly.

- New feature?

Would be cool to see a feature where you can select an image from your iPhone photos folder and can share to Google Chrome app as the source for a reserve image search... food for thought?

- Finally a bottom nav bar!!!

The new UX of having a bottom nav bar is great, especially having the search icon front and centre where your thumb is. Great work Google, I may now start relying less on Safari as my go to mobile browser.

- Pop ups and dodgy comps

Lately on iPhone 8+ have been getting pop ups “you’ve won an iPhone”. “Congratulations this is not a hoax - you’re our xxxx number customer “ but the only way to remove is delete whole app as the screen locks on the pop up. You advertise as being secure - but these are dodgy as. I have cleared browsing data etc but it comes back within a week or so.

- It’s a good one

This browser is actually amazing like I’m in love with it. It works for any device like that’s my favourite thing about this browser. It lacks sometimes but that’s fine. You guys deserve a big thumbs up on this!

Cato

- Extremely slow

Slow to load, slow to think, slow slow slow. Clear all cookies and data, still slow. They don’t care, they’re Google.

- I don't like QR scanner bar!!

And google voice!!

- I have not had any issues with this app

Uhhhh

- Chromecast

This app should have a chromecast function, similar to on the pc or Mac browser. Strange that chrome and chromecast are not compatible.

- Version 76.0.3809 is unusable on iPhoneXR iOS 12.4

I use GMail and have it linked to Chrome as the default browser for opening links. I used it because it met my needs and was great on my Windows desktop and iPhone/iPad. Since the latest update, I’m using Microsoft Edge because it is stable, and actually work - even though I despise it. Since the new Chrome update (both before and after the iOS update), following a link in email freezes the bowser completely after one action, be it one tap in Chrome’s resulting page, a scroll or link, or changing the orientation of the page. It is utterly useless. It has to be dismissed since the link back to GMail will not work. Restarting Chrome independently after a to resume from an improper shutdown - which I’ve done, repeatedly. This too is of no use as nothing works. One tap or motions on screen and it’s gone again - can’t do a second tap, scroll, change orientation, or anything else but a forced dismiss of the app. This is independent of the site linked to, the nature of the link, or the action taken.

- U will love it 👌

Amazing love it works so well download it u will love it

- Used to be great

In the past it was working perfectly. Now I have issues of; App freezing App crashing Page freezing (can’t scroll but click on links, and can’t scroll in the newly opened link. Also can’t open new tab)

- It eats ram for breakfast

Very unreliable

- Switching tabs nightmare

It used to be easy to switch multiple tabs, but the new changes make it a nightmare... clicking on the little square with a number of tabs opened only shows options to “open a new tab” or “close tab”, doesn’t allow me to switch windows... a total blunder really... it’s only after toying with it after like 10 tries does it work...

- Recent update is unstable

Every time I close the app all the tabs shut. I used to be able to toggle between apps and reopen- now every time I return to chrome every single tab has been closed. This is brutal, please fix!

- I can’t add chrome extensions

It literally doesn’t even allow me to get on the page to install extensions

- Captchas, always captchas

I use a VPN so I have to do a stupid captcha test EVERY TIME I search for something. Flowers : captcha Recipes: captcha News : captcha It gets incredibly frustrating. Will uninstall.

- Yea

Just to turn off auto caption on my phone

- Font size too big

The app is suddenly making all fonts huge on all the websites I visit on IOS. This seems to be happening after the latest update. The app was functioning fine for years until now. Please fix google :)

- Need support

When ever I start my application after closing it, for few seconds I can see my application working in black and white colour. I need support/assistance to fix this. I tried reinstalling the application, rebooted my phone many times and the chrome app is totally up to date.

- Obnoxious crash that clears all your tabs

Been using the app for a long time and later last year started getting random crashes that close all my tabs. VERY annoying when i have lots of stuff open.

- Cannot download gifs

When I open a gif in a new tab it will load and the animation of the gifs works as-well. However, I cannot download these gifs that I open in new tabs, even by holding my finger down on the screen.

- It doesn’t let me play music on sound cloud

Every five minutes this stop playing

- Chrome sure, but also I’m enraged

It’s what you’d expect, but you’d better hope it doesn’t ever crash. Ok multiple occasions I have lost 40-50+ tabs because the “restore tabs” option that is supposed to pop up when chrome shuts down incorrectly is the least consistent thing ever to exist. I could go through my history and restore the tabs manually, if that didn’t mean painfully scrolling through selecting a history entry, then having to open a new tab and do that all over again. They really should add the ability to select multiple entries in history, and open them all at once. I honestly can’t recommend this if you are someone who has a tonne of tabs open and want them to stay available to you.

- Annoying alert

Since updating my iOS and phone every time I open the chrome app I get an alert saying I’m logged in to my account and can change this in settings or click okay got it. It’s very annoying. I know I’m logged in and don’t need to see it every time.

- The new UI sucks

I liked the old layout, and now it looks exactly like Safari, which I hated.

- Broken

This app is currently broken. Absolutely useless. Nothing about it works for more than a few minutes. I hate Safari but I’m using Safari over this.

- Keeps crashing

Crashing when loading a webpage with lots of images

- Use to like Chrome

It’s become unusable constantly crashes to black screen pls fix Then I uninstalled and reinstalled and the app has returned to normal 😊

- History

I can't delete my search history without going to the application I like the old one better

- No good

Look at the logo, it has a 666 in it. They literally give you information only they want you to see! Evil I tell you, EVIL!! But for real, I can never find what I’m looking for, they filter way too much solid info that I can find on DuckDuckGo. Chow

- Missing Features

There are a few features in Chrome that I miss from the old Google app. Example: The arrow on the top left corner for each tab and sometimes the refresh button isn't there for some reason. I would really appreciate it if you fixed this. Thanks you!

- The 10th day of 2020 is where the story begins

The very best mobile browser just kept getting better - until recently - even earlier on in the 10th day of the New Year of 2020 - and here I am - well but look at the time - it’s now the 11th day of 2020, either way - I am still forced to uninstall the Chrome Browser - which I will replace with the friendly Firefox experience. “Was there an update that ruined my ‘once upon a time’ favourite browser?” Oh well, I guess I can just as easily become a Firefox fan eh. If you find yourself in the same predicament as me my dear reader, you might want to follow my lead. Okay then, 3 cheers for Mozilla! Hip-hip-hooray! Hip-hip-hooray! Hip-hip-hooray!

- Better

Better then safari

- It’s ok I guess...

I rate 4 starts

- Lol

I can’t download the app

- Creekside family dental

10stars very nice place. To get your teeth cleaned.👍

- James and crew

It was a long process and at no time was I not kept up to date with my claim. James was amazing at his job, to say the least. I will recommend him to anyone that needs the help I did. Fantastic

- Safari?

Opened chrome after doing update yesterday and thought I opened Safari. Safari sucks! And well, so does chrome now! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

- Horrible update

This version 69.something.something.something is horrible. Looks like safari. If I wanted to use safari, I’d use safari. Pure junk!

- E

Never had a single issue with the app in years of using it on my iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, cheers

- Disappearing tabs - no reason given

Why, after this being first reported 2 years ago, is this problem still there?

- I can’t access the app!

The app (for me) is apparently glitched and the name of the app isn’t Google Chrome, It’s called, and I quote “stable”. Is it possible to fix the app? Another thing that is happening is that it will apparently add itself back in my iPad. As in, when I try to delete the app through the settings app, it won’t go away after I press the delete button! So please try to fix it ASAP.

- Why?

I don’t really write reviews but the update is so garbage. It’s extremely frustrating to use now

- New tab sucks!!!

Swipe up on the new tab page to explore suggested content sucks, much prefer the mobile bookmarks to be displayed on new tab, this change sucks because this apps used to deserve 5 stars but now only 1 star because of this change with no option to go back

- Nice but needs to be more touch friendly.

I love this app for its cross saving bookmarks and history. I just find this app is the hardest for me to use due to the tiny buttons, bookmarks and tabs. What would be really nice is a big home page greeting with all your tabs as big icons. I don’t like any of this silly recently used or most visited icons.

- Pages stopped loading

My google chrome app isn’t loading pages. Please fix!

- My job

The staff was very helpful and good will always prefer everyone to come and join

- Very good

It’s fast and easier to browse instead of using safari on the iPad. It’s very handy and I like it. But in a few parts... it’s kind of buggy? I think it needs to be fixed. But overall, everything is great

- Completely broken

Chrome keeps crashing now. Trying Brave browser, also was instantly disappointed with Edge.

- Doesn’t even load half the time

Horrible app

- Be careful with private browsing

This is an IOS issue but nonetheless...it turns out if you close an app the phone keeps memory of the last image that was showing for that particular app basically like a screenshot of the website that shows in the app drawer. So if you were looking at something on Chrome that you didn’t want anyone else to know about( even if you were incognito!) they will see what you were last looking at. It also is dependent on the orientation of the screen, different previews are stored for landscape and portrait orientation. Avoid potentially awkward or embarrassing situations and be sure to close those tabs people.

- Disgusting Safari mimic.

I used chrome on my laptop because ie was slow and horrible, I used chrome on my phone because safari was ugly and inconvenient. Now chrome looks like safari, acts like safari, and crashes like safari. No, actually, safari runs BETTER than chrome does now. Try fixing the bugs and not overhauling the UI every month. The reason chrome won’t offer the option to use the old layout- is because nobody would use the new one. Because it’s garbage. I might have to switch to safari because the new keyboard bug makes using a chat box at the bottom of the page, impossible. And that’s what I spend 90% of my time on the app doing, typing. Can’t copy or paste because you can’t see the bottom of the screen. Safari at least knows to put the keyboard below the page.

- Thank you Google

Love Google, love the security features, love the search features, only thing needing improvement is their newest program of reverse image search. For example, If I post a particular weaving loom, I know it’s wood, I’d like to see a little more besides boards and 2 X 4’s lol Also the security features of other apps and devices trying to sign into my account has saved me a few times. It’s amazing the number of hackers that are out there working 24/7 to steal your information, like this morning at 5:30 am in Lima Perú when I live stateside. Nice try you dirty ^##*’s-Googles all over that! shut down!!

- Outstanding app but one huge problem

Would be a 5/5 if it wasn't for this one problem. As I and I'm sure many others do, we love our tabs. The more, the merrier as I'm sure y'all already know. Unfinished projects, entertainment, cherished history; all of that is contained within then and would hate for it to disappear.. which is exactly why we need a recovery option for all tabs as soon as possible. Because hey, accidents DO happen! And somehow every other mobile browser had already included this feature as it's common sense. I know I'm bound to make this mistake again of closing all my tabs, but hopefully the next time it happens, I'll have a handy recovery option to save me. Thanks for reading

- Font blurbs to the right appear blurry

My ipad2 shows icon as just Chrome vice Google Chrome so maybe not quite same app that I'm reviewing? Anyhow, I do have the highest iOS that is available for this iPad, so if there is a better version that corrected this disparity, I apologize. I may go back to the Google and read even though I get more than 1/2 way into reading a good article, it crashes and totally have to look for it all over again. Hate how Apple treats their customers who can't keep going out to buy the latest iPhone/iPod or iPad. After awhile they quit supporting certain apps :(. Maybe they could allow for a "classic" version of outdated apps?

- Left due to new design but came back.

Left Chrome due to the new design but I came back. I despise the new tab picker screen but the rest of everything is mostly okay to me now. If they’d revert the tab picker then I’d be pretty happy. Closing a tab causes everything on the left and right sides (below the closed tab) to switch sides and it’s very annoying. The old stacked cards layout was easier and prettier. Or at least give us the option between the two. I’d also like the menu to go further up the screen. I use “Find in Page” very often and having to scroll down to get to it is annoying when the menu could simply be made taller to make things more readily available. But that’s more of a minor nuisance. The tab picker is still despicable to me.

- Decent browser, terrible UX update

A rinky-dink UX designer would be raked over the coals for burying the single most important element of a browser’s end-user experience - this being bookmarks - underneath a separate submenu. Yet, Google, with its most recent update, did just that. It’s absolutely bewildering. This along with their mobile browser’s anemic customization settings make this a barebones in all the wrong way experience. A browser’s bookmarks needs to be easily and readily accessible. An open tab should be forced to hold a browser’s history. A browser, even a mobile one, should have some basic level customization and QoL options. This is no longer a new browser. It’s Chrome, from Google. They can do better and we, the user, deserve better than this.

- URL pass for pdf “open in” is insufficient

Love Chrome for windows. I’ve saved a lot of PDFs over the years. But behind credentials (a login page), I can’t save a pdf from chrome on iPad to iBooks, Google Drive, or anything else. I love chrome. But I can’t use it for what I need, just yet. I need Chrome to pass whole pdf instead of making the next app try (unsuccessfully if behind a login page) to download the pdf again. This could be problematic for users who download unprotected PDFs if the files are large (imagine downloading a 100MB pdf twice, really) Thanks for your hard work, and I look forward to this added functionality!

- Good but has some flaws

I’m not sure if it’s just my phone but I’ve been having to trouble with the app lately. It really glitchy and the sound keeps cutting out whenever I try to watch a video. I’ve had to restart my phone and reinstall the app multiple times at once. Through out the day it gives me this problem over and over again. No only does the sound cut out but it’s unbelievably slow and laggy. I’ve checked my WiFi connection but I still have the same problem, but I do have to say when the app works fine it’s a great web browser. If I didn’t have all these problems I would rate it a 5 star app. So google if you read this it might help that I’m using this on IOS.

- Not resizing correctly

I switched to chrome for the UI and ease of use. But I’m having A LOT of difficulty with viewing all content on a webpage. I don’t have desktop view enabled, yet most sites are not optimizing to mobile view. It’s really frustrating. I’m having to either switch to landscape mode (which I hate) to try and read a paragraph or scroll my page left and right to read it. It’s incredibly annoying, especially since I use my phone for a lot of work-type business. Makes me far less efficient when someone sends me a link for a new candidate or an HR forum they’d like me to review. And I’m spending additional time just trying to read it correctly, on the go. iPhone X Running iOS 12 now (issue was happening prior to upgrade from iOS 11)

- New update

So I’ve used google chrome for a long time. It’s a good browser and I really don’t have any complaints. I do have to say though that I’m somewhat confused. This morning when I opened chrome I thought I had opened safari by accident. When I checked again, it was chrome. All I really have to say is I’m kind of disappointed. It looks like someone said “How can we make chrome better for apple users? Oh let’s make it look like safari!” Well despite the features, I’ve used chrome in the past because it didn’t look like safari. Because it was it’s own. Just something to think about I guess

- Do NOT like Toolbar at bottom!!!

The toolbar at the bottom is awful!!! I type in a search at the TOP so that’s where I’m already looking. I open multitudes of webpages in new tabs...which I do FREQUENTLY when looking for a particular item while staying on the main google search page so I can continue to open more tabs and then when I’m ready during or after that, I can quickly go and look at each of the webpages that are up behind my main google search page and toggle between them and change my search words, as needed. Toggling between webpages and changing my search words parameters was all at the top of the browser and now I have to go to the top, then the bottom, then the top, then the bottom, etc...??? RIDICULOUS!!! That’s one of the main reasons I used Chrome rather than Safari!

- Great except features seem to be removed with updates

I am suddenly not able to view or use my passwords in the Google Chrome app my iPhone OR on the mobile webpage. It’s telling me that it can’t access it because of a passphrase i used to encrypt it. I am aware that I have a passphrase for encryption, but I have never had this issue before. I have always been able to access my passwords in the Google Chrome app. This is a very big inconvenience. I currently keep password stored with Google and with the newest update, chrome will not allow me to access any of the passwords I’ve stored. It will just tell me the passwords that I’ve told it to never store. This has happened with multiple features with chrome. Very unfortunate that they do this with updates, whether they mean to or not. Lack of validation I suppose.

- Incognito mode

I like to have incognito mode tabs and regular chrome tabs open at the same time and I leave them that way whether I’m on the app or not for the ease of convenience when I come back. I slid back and forth between the two easily and I haven’t had a single problem before now with that system. After this update, every time I leave chrome ALL of my incognito tabs are deleted completely. I have been all over the google website link in the description and here, trying to find something that says that little tick is on purpose but so far I can’t find it. I’ve seen the notes that it disappears when you hit the x and stuff but nothing about unwanted quits. Is this how it works now and I need to change my browser/ search engine or is this some sort of glitch?

- Recent UI update is ugly

I've used the Chrome app as my main browser for a while now. The old UI certainly had it's annoyances, but it was superior to the other browser options overall. This new UI seems to emulate the Safari browser the iOS aesthetic, which is a certifiably bad choice. Everything now has a rounded-off, bubbly look that makes one feel like they're using a child's toy. In addition, they seem to have removed the swipe to close tabs option in favor of a small X. This is a major quality of life downgrade. The buttons have migrated to the bottom of the screen, which is annoying visually but a probable time saver. Overall, the awesome functionality I love is still there, but it's hindered by the awful new UI.

- Was constantly crashing but reinstall may have fixed

Starting a couple of weeks ago, I was unable to use Chrome for more than a few page views (maybe 15 minutes); it crashed and had to be killed/reopened. It usually restored my tabs but it was not great, Bob. I was considering a switch back to Safari. I like having my bookmarks synced, but not enough to deal with this ridiculous behavior. If it was any other app I would’ve scrapped it a long time ago and never looked back! But then I decided to try a delete and reinstall, if nothing else but to check the box to send a note to the developers when it crashed. And whatdya know, it’s better! So changed to 3 stars...

- Bookmarks don’t save properly

I’m one of the few people left that still use forums for information and tech for my hobbies and it seems that the bookmarks only save the home page of the website, not the forum page which I almost exclusively use. I deleted the bookmarks several times, made sure I saved it on the page I want, I even copied the URL and pasted into the address on the bookmarks I want. None of that works properly. The bookmarks even have the address I want in it but homepage it is. I decided to get this since safari doesn’t want to load one of the forum pages I view. The bookmarks work properly on it but the switch to chrome was not very impressive at all.

- Let’s talk about the new interface

I have been a big fan of Chrome on iOS since it was released. In fact, it has been my primary interface on all of my devices for a while now. This new interface is going to change that for iOS. When the PC interface update dropped I was a bit annoyed. Like most people I don’t like change. However, after using it for a while, I quickly found it was mostly the look that changes, the overall navigation and menus stayed mostly the same. Fast forward to the iOS update, where menu items have been moved, buttons repositioned on the screen making it more difficult to use single handed. This is a painful change to the browsing experience. Now I need to spend the rest of my day downloading browsers. Is Brave on iOS yet?

- THE. BEST. WEB. BROWSER. Not exaggerating.

Ok, this web browser takes a modern design and gives it a google twist. Not only is the security good, it also has a voice thing. BEAT THAT SAFARI! This app beats safari because it takes everything Safari has and makes it better. CONS! There is a draw-to-type thing in here, but it probroally has never even been updated... It had the OLD google logo, the text Is good old looking blue, and it is rather slow. If you’re putting a modern design in, put it in! Oh well, that little problem is nothing compared to how many pro’s there are. BYE!

- Add Blockers And Rights Restricted

I used to enjoy using Google Chrome. It was fast, accurate and it’s features were cool too. But recently Google has decided to only allow people in their company to use ad blockers. This may seem like a small change now. But it’s possibly a percursor to worse. Rumors spread that companies considered charging people for using the internet. So this could also be an invasion of our rights. They make money with their browser, apps and communities. Why should they make you do more to give them more profit? With this in mind I’ve started using Yahoo to search online and have deleted the Chrome app for Firefox. So please understand when I say that Chrome is not the best and I give it no star ranking. Oh. They won’t let me post unless I do. One star and not a single other.

- 404 Collection Error

I sent this report and issue multiple times, and still nothing was fixed. Because of this new unneeded updates or one of them, every image that I saved ended in my collections keep showing 404 with a “That’s all we know” message. This is just pitiful! I’ve done nothing to my domain, nothing with the URL! Nothing! All my image collection keeps showing up as a 404 even the new ones that I literally just added! Fix the problem! It will only let me fully view pictures in my collection if I request the full site and not the mobile site. I don’t want to use that every time I want to look at the collection of images I saved! It’s hard enough using a full site on a mobile iPhone! Fix the problem.

- Google is doing dumb stuff

As we know, chrome is famous for and succeeded for its wide variety of extensions, but after the version 80, google tried to eliminate this kind of variety. They warn you every time when you open browser if not using an “official” extension (using an extension not from chrome store), due to some “safety” concerns. This is ridiculous since most of the “unsafe” “unofficial” extensions are open source projects on Github, but the so called “safe” ones are the ones we really know nothing about. Google is trying to hold everything in their hand, even extensions, like a freaking big brother. You may wonder why I’m talking about the PC version here, well, if I could ever find a chance to review the PC version, I will give them 0 star for their Soviet-union like controlling over everything.

- Nice App Except for Balky Menus & No Chromecast

I have an iPhone SE & an iPad mini 2 - both running the current version of iOS. I use multiple computers (Mac, Windows & Linux) & appreciate that information syncs between all the devices. The only issues I have are that Chrome does not accept extensions (particularly ad blockers — I can live ads as long as I do not have to click or swipe on them & they are not sensory intrusive — no flashing, movement or auto play) & that it does not seem possible to cast videos from Chrome (casting works from other apps on my devices so I do not believe this is a device limit or a configuration issue.)

- Dearly needs a download manager

Chrome is very nearly there on iOS 13 but it’s missing one huge feature that’s kept me on safari this long: a download manager. With iOS 13, safari added real download support to the phone’s file system, and as someone who downloads a lot of video files, this has been immeasurably helpful. When trying to download video on Chrome however, I simply get the classic iOS full screen video player. Once iOS 14 hits and Chrome can be my default browser, I wanna jump in. I just can’t without a download manager though. It’s been a year now guys, please help us out.

- Pretty good, but please fix tab switcher for scam protection

Generally I adore this browser, but alerts break it in that you must click ok to dismiss them to get to any other tab, the tab switcher, settings, or anything. This is a huge malware and virus problem waiting to happen. Alerts from bad sites should never freeze the entire browser. A work around is to exit and click a link somewhere that forces a new tab but lots of people won’t know to do this. Please fix. There is no way on iPad to open the browser without saved tabs once you’ve set them, so it’s kinda ugly when this happens.

- Typically love it

I typically love Chrome. Even recently, when I decided to give an apple product a try, I opted for chrome over safari. I like the new look update, but it is a little buggy. I’m not sure if it’s just the iOS version that is having the issue. For instance, when I go to the espn website to check out the nfl stat lines. The ability to choose what stats I want to look at is gone, but they still appear in the safari version. Even when I request the desktop version of the site, they are still missing. I’m sure it’ll get worked out soon.

- Dislike Latest Update

Google Chrome has long been my favorite iPhone browser app. I never use Safari. Chrome’s old user interface was easy to use, intuitive, and mirrored the layout you were used to in your computer browser. With this recent update, it is nearly identical in layout and functionality to Safari. I’m really disappointed. Now I have no good option for a reputable app browser; I’m stuck with two whose interfaces are not what I need or desire. Google, updates are always welcome and necessary but you’ve gone in the wrong direction with this one. Please go back to something similar in functionality to the old one.

- Worst voice search interface ever! Simply idiotic

While Google voice recognition is way better than Siri’s, there is one huge BUT that has been driving me insane for years. HOW TO FINISH YOUR VOICE SEARCH? How is that possible that there is no button to tap after you’re done talking??? Is it supposed to search automatically after you are done talking? Because that rarely happens! Especially when you’re in a loud environment. How can a trillion dollar company make such a blunder? And not fix it for years!! I’ve been waiting for so long. Losing all faith in Google to create any sensible UI apps. Simply insane. Is there really no way to end a voice search? Is the only way really just automatic, only when Google decides that you’re done talking? Or am I an idiot and missing something?

- Another bad update

Latest update freezes regularly and the “Open In” feature for PDFs seems to work only when it wants to. Pressing it actually does something only very rarely. Most of the time it just does nothing at all. On the iPad, Chrome crashes constantly, has no ability to print at all and loses most of its history so if you navigate away from a site it's gone most of the time. Apparently Google spent its development dollars making a fancy, non-intuitive interface rather than making a browser that actually works. Woo hoo, it connects to all sorts of wacky Google services, too bad it stinks as a web browser. Chrome on the iPad is for people who care more about whether their car has enough cup holders, rather than if the car actually starts.

- What a shame!

What a shame that Google has changed the layout of Chrome to a Safari clone. The first few times I opened it after the update, I was confused as to why Safari kept opening — I never use Safari! But then I realized. This new layout is less functional and harder to use with essential navigation tools split between two different areas on the screen. I’d rather have it all in one place in the top bar as it was before - easier to manage and much quicker to use. I really don’t think Chrome should be striving to match others in the industry- it should be setting and maintaining a higher standard, which it had... but has given up for some strange reason. This is a step in the wrong direction. May have to find another browser now.

- Since iOS 11 its terrible

More often than not I get pages that are only half loaded. Doesn’t matter how long I wait it only loads half the page which isn’t so helpful. And Google don’t point fingers at the webmasters for these pages because you will have some pointing back at you as I have had Google search pages only load half way too. The other main problem I have is the crashing. While this absolutely isn’t specific to iOS 11 it has been an issue with all iOS versions and all app iterations it just seems to be worse since the into of 11. I hate Safari with an absolute passion but I have been forced to use it I it makes me crazy, come on guys do a girl a solid and get it together will ya!

- Prefer the classic chrome

Like many others have said, I prefer the classic chrome browser. I’ve stayed away from safari because I don’t like it. Now this is mimicking it pretty closely. Not only that, I felt the classic version was better to navigate and easier to close the open tabs. If some like this format fine. But it would be nice if they let those of us who don’t to go back to the prior format. Or uninstall this update. Update: liking it less. Quite honestly, it has been performing a lot slower than the old versions. Have already had several loading issues too, and freezing. Also, the tabs are so much harder to close. The darn x on the right corner doesn’t always work.

- Officially makes Safari seem like trash

I’ve been waiting for the back button to be moved to the bottom of the screen forever now! It has finally been done and I’m so ecstatic! Also the new design looks amazing too. Haven’t seen the card layout in awhile but I’m liking it and glad that you gave the option to close all (I’ll never use it though). It’s a bit weird though that you can’t close by sliding since I’ve become so used to that. Also putting a search button at the bottom was genius 👌

- Love Chrome- Poor Execution on iPad

I love Google. I have Chrome on most of my devices. However, there are tasks that Chrome just isn’t good at on an iPad. I have an iPad Pro and I use it for school. I read a lot of journal articles so I want to view and edit PDFs. I have Adobe Acrobat, which is the easiest app to use for this task. However, Chrome doesn’t seem to want to transfer the PDF to Adobe Acrobat. It isn’t an option and I can’t add it. I tried the Safari app and this process was very easy. I will still use Chrome for most things, but Safari is a bit better at more advanced iPad functions. Chrome just isn’t optimized for the iPad. But it’s free so try it out.

- Images view is ruined, app now unusable.

I’ve exclusively used chrome on iPhone for 4 years. Mainly because of the ability to view desktop versions of websites, which you can’t do in safari. The second to last update I liked because the new tab view and the ability to rearrange them was a wonderful added feature. But the newest update has made this browser unusable for me. Why? Because when I am in the “images” section for a search query, I can’t click on an image and view a larger version. Now the only option is to click on the website link below to image to bring me to the originating page to view the image there. For the first time I’m going to have to use safari as my main browser until this is fixed.

- Close All Open Tabs?

Overall great app, been using it for years. I do more web surfing on my iOS devices than any others and always use this app. However, one feature that has been missing since I started using it is to close all tabs at once. You have to hit the x on every open tab and often I have more than 20 open during a typical browsing session. This can be annoying especially when I come back later and all my old tabs are open still; scrolling to the end of the tabs to start a new tab is also annoying.

- Why?! Changes adopted bad traits of other browsers

I have used chrome as my primary iOS browser in great part due to the address bar and tab list being at the top with the bookmark star right in that space. This was also a distinguishing trait setting chrome apart from other less useful browsers such as Safari. Killed two great features with one update. Why? I can't agree with the logic of swiping down to see an address bar and then having to search at the bottom of the screen to access the other open tabs. If I want to bookmark a page now it is 3 clicks rather than 1... Not helpful. I also much preferred the stacked tabs list view from previous versions. Huge disappointment.

- Unstable -Freezes-crashes- each release has less features

Only 1star as chrome will frequently crash or freeze on the iPad. Hope each new release fixes problem, but does not. Instead it appears less features are present. Loss of save image as others have noted is not good. Will switch to using Firefox or even...shudder...Safari on the iPad as we are tired of losing time with the incessant crashing of chrome..... Yes chrome has been deleted and re-installed numerous times... No relief. It also has a memory leak and becomes exceedingly large. Also have blown away and restored the IPAD.... No change or relief....Chrome browser continues to crash and display the "aw snap" crash error screen. Mozilla needs to release Firefox Quantum for IOS devices.

- Translation system is maddening.

As a browser it works great. However whenever I visit any page in another language it pops up and asks to translate it for you. No I don't want it to do this right now. Yet it asks every page I navigate. The only option is never translate X language or never translate for that site. However maybe further into the site I do need it. What then? There is NO OPTION within the settings to REQUEST a page be translated. So the only option I'm left with is to be subjected constantly by the pop up asking to translate, JUST IN CASE I might need it at some point. Can we not just have a translate this page option? Is that so much to ask? I mean really, this is ridiculous.

- Good, but a few bugs

I like Chrome a lot. It’s a great browser, with a clean and easy to use interface. I like it better that Safari, but I can’t make it my default browser. The news feed in new tabs is a nice touch, but can be annoying, and I like that you can see history across your devices. Too many times, though, I have opened the app to find that all of my tabs are gone. The app had previously offered to recover the deleted tabs when this happened, but now it doesn’t seem to realize that anything has happened. Chrome is a great app, and I recommend it; just be advised that it has some kinks.

- ???

I waited 31 minutes on hold for help only to be told you couldn’t take my call. Why am I having to log on and resign up. Everything was fine before this change. So here I-am not able watch YouTubetv due to technical issues and nobody to help . Hello hello is there anybody there who gives a crap about customer service?? Monday is a holiday by Tuesday morning I hope to have heard from you or I will be cancelling my account, if I wait that long . Oh BTW MY MONEY IS ALWAYS ON TIME, why aren’t you with answering your phone ??? You get negative 5 stars .

- Security Issue with Pop Ups

Looking for alternative to Safari I downloaded Chrome and took it for a spin. Good impressions at first. Getting used to the UI layout and navigation took a me a while but I was getting better and then after two days of use... BOOMMM, I got a script pop up from a website and there was no way of getting rid of. Unlike on Safari where you have a way of dismissing the pop up without having to interact with it; on Chrome that wasn't an option. I looked everywhere for a way to make it go away like cleared the browser cash, closed and re-opened but the app was completely locked up. The only solution was to click OK on the pop or just delete the app. So I deleted it and now I am back to Safari again.

- Would rather use internet explorer than chrome app

Chrome app for iOS has never really been the greatest. But now with ios 11 it is honestly totally useless to me. One of the major things I do with my phone is look up questions that I have while I am out and about, and usually the answers to those questions are found on forums. Well chrome will open up the forum page just fine then about 5 seconds later the page will just go blank. Thought this might be a temporary issue, but iOS 11 has been out for a couple weeks and they’ve had months with the beta. This should not be an issue. I guess I’m stuck with safari until google can get it together.

- It's okay, not bad though

My main complaint is the bar navigation.. Having to reach all the way up all the time especially when I want to share something is a real pain on something like the iPhone 6 Plus.. Safari does this much easier and not to mention the share functionality is just one press away. Other than that I love my bookmarks history tab from all my computer sync with my phone, this is because I use Google Chrome on all my devices. Except for my phone where I have to constantly switch between easy navigation and butter smooth UI (safari) and functionality (chrome)

- Why did they break something that worked?

I used to love my Chrome app! I bragged about it to everyone I know. After the bugs over the past couple weeks, though, I’m heading back to safari. Web pages freeze. If I turn my phone sideways and then vertical again, the screen is zoomed out and everything is tiny. Nothing fixes it except closing the tab. Half the time when I leave the app (even for 5 seconds to check a text), it restarts and deletes all the web pages I had open. If you head over to read the Google Maps reviews, people are saying pretty much the same thing. Ever since the update a couple weeks ago, google is broken. What the heck???

- Everything is perfect, except the most important part...

The "Open In" option is complete garbage. Everytime I download to save a pdf or ppt from blackboard it never opens the documents in external apps, let alone any type of pdf or anything into other apps. Everytime I press "open in" it literally does nothing. Have to switch browsers and do the sign in process every time I try to get documents in general since I forget Chrome has that buggy export feature. And the little box above that says export only exports direct links and not documents (mostly useless since blackboard and other sites requiere direct logins). When this feature gets fixed, I'll instantly upgrade this review to 5 stars without any issue. Thanks for your attention.

- New version is horrible

The new version is less user-friendly and removed many of the features I liked about Google Chrome. It now looks and acts like Safari. The search function is slow and having the navigation buttons on the bottom is less intuitive. Also I hate the way that multiple tabs are shown. It was better to have them stacked and able to swipe through. Going through the preview pane with all of them next to each other makes the process slower. At this point I might as well go back to Safari. Google, you made a poor judgement when you decided to redo the entire Chrome layout and functionality. It was heads better because it was faster and more user-friendly.

- Used to be a pretty decent app..

Google Chrome used to be my go-to app, but with recent updates I’ve been using Safari and Opera. It’s super annoying when I go to type something into the navigation bar and then it erases everything I just typed and takes me back to the most recent news stories. I’m also not really interested in the news articles appearing there as they do. Maybe make it optional? The last complaint is webpages not loading completely. It’s kind of hard to read an article when I scroll down for the rest of the article and all I can see is white, no text. These are my three main concerns with this app. Other than that it’s a good one.

- Upsetting Updates

I've been using Chrome for years now on all of my devices — it's my favorite browser. However, a recent iPhone update had made using Chrome on my phone more of a chore. The most glaring change is that settings and tabs are now shown at the bottom of the screen, rather than the top, similar to how Safari looks. But that's exactly the issue, this layout is one of the main reasons I chose Crome over Safari on my phone, but now they both have this issue! It's a small problem, but it's one that has changed the way I few this app. I wish I had a way to change it back.

- It USED TO BE Good

Google likes to follow the same path as Apple; they like to “fix” things that aren’t broken to begin with. Versions ago, Google was unique and easy to use. Now it’s just a cumbersome, complicated difficult to use app and is now worse than Safari. And the bombardment of forced ads and news stories are ridiculous. I want to read a news story, I will look for it. I don’t need it forced down my throat. Hey Google; are you reading my negative review, and thousands like it? Of course not. You have become an overgrown corporate monster that cares nothing about its customers and only about $$$. I’m going back to Safari. It’s free. It’s already on my phone. And Google hasn’t given me one reason to stay, but it’s given me every reason to leave.

Google chrome app updated apparently and omg, I really like this. Flipping through all the pages vertically like a rolodex takes awhile with so many tabs lol.

@KenNicehairs @mr_karumin @amazonluna @GoogleStadia @XboxGamePass Luna works on iOS through web (safari/chrome) not App Store . And Stadia is also works on android via both chrome web and app . So if Google could just put stadia on iOS safari no need to get through Apple rules

Suddenly when I want to download from Google Drive, Chrome does not allow it. I have to use Fairfax or Opera to do this. What a steep fall in standards for Google.

@SNKRschemes @themacint0sh If u couldnt get past the 501 error, it was you connection. Lots of ATT and t mobile connections were like that. All u had to do was buy $3 proxies and you were fine. If you knew what u were doing, there was no reason you couldnt get 10-20 pairs manually using google chrome.

@TylerJWenzel I do both because i have an extension downloaded for chrome but if I’m on my phone then I definitely use the google search bar. Wasnt allowed to use both as an option though 😭
