Honest app. Wow this is the most honest pic app I’ve ever seen and it’s very useful and it is very fun and fast and free the three f’s. It was the only one I could find everyone should have this app. There is no downside! I just have three suggestions can you put a makeup tool so if there is a person in the photo you can put makeup on them. Another one is that you can change the background by choosing a photo you already have to the background. My last suggestion is that people can make stickers by going to a photo they have and cutting out the part they want the stickers to be. Please consider my suggestions it would mean the world to me. Again I love this app and in suggest it to everyone thank you so much Snapseed team!

App no longer works!. I’ve used and loved this app for several years. I know to restart my phone or even remove and reinstall an app if I’m having issues. None of those tactics are working. App constantly crashes when I click on tune image and try to use those features. I love the ambiance feature and can’t get to it, the whole thing freezes my phone screen every time. It started happening probably 2 -3 weeks ago. Please fix, love this app! App is completely frozen! I don’t understand how I’m supposed to keep my photos in landscape mode to avoid this? None of my photos are taken in landscape mode! I need them to fit on my phone in 9:16 ratio for social media!! Please fix app!

Update Works!. I have enjoyed this app for over a year, recently the export didn’t seem to be working quite right. I have the iPad Pro. So I reinstalled Snapseed and now it works perfect. I have the most current update for my iPad. I hope everyone does this. I also had to do the same for several other apps including Chick-fil-A. I hope others see this and realize it does work. I also have a you tube channel and this is the only app I use for the thumbnail, I like mine to have all the same font and color so I need y’all to reload and try again and update your reviews once you see it does work. I would also gladly pay about 2-5$ or a one time fee to keep developers happy and continue effort to keep this around.

Saved edited photos are reverting to original. I’ve contacted Apple and they couldn’t help me. I’ve been using snapseed for almost a year to edit photos I take daily. I save my edited version over the original to save space on my phone. Over the past 2 days (since the iPhone iOS update) random photos I’ve edited will revert to their original version on their own. They’ll save for a period of say 12 hours and then I’ll go into my photos library to use that photo and all the edits are gone. This only happens to SOME photos I’ve edited. Not all. Is there anything you can do to fix the issue? Otherwise, I LOVE snapseed. But I spend a large amount of time getting my photos perfect and can’t afford to waste my time editing everything over and over.

So Much Love, But…. Snapseed has been my go to editing app for close to a decade now. It’s wide range of powerful features and it’s complete lack of hidden purchases still do a lot to recommend it (the Selective Edit feature in particular is what turned me onto it in the first place) but…Having now tried this on two different phones, two different software profiles, the app hangs anytime I go to load a RAW image for development. Now, I could just go to Lightroom for this kind of thing, but the core simplicity and intuitive controls of Snapseed make it much less complicated than Lr. But, I shoot almost everything in RAW so that I can have that editing latitude, and loading an image, waiting and wondering whether I’ll be able to edit it at all have left me looking to other options. For jpeg shooters, however, this app is a marvel: It costs nothing, and is packed with wonderful features. The aforementioned Selective Edit is a great way to punch up contrast and saturation to specific areas of your images and leaving areas of first shot perfection relatively untouched. Furthermore, the preset edits like Portrait and Fine Art (black and white) are a one tap ticket to Gorgeous Town. I just wish the developers would do something about the lottery like nature of RAW development. Fix the lag, and I’ll bring back the Fifth Star, how about that?

Custom Looks?. This is my favorite editing app, I share it with everyone but I’d give anything to make custom looks. I’ve looked through tutorials (none of them show features still available so they don’t work), the help documentation which never mentions Looks… even the app description says you can make custom looks but I’ve looked EVERYWHERE. Right now I have to save photos to a special album with all steps saved, open them, save again, then use “Last Edits”. It’d be unreal to save my steps. Please update the documentation if this still works… and if not, remove it from the app description or put it back! Would also give anything for a clone stamp tool!

So great, but so so slow— and no updates??. I love the editing features of this app, and I have so many “looks” saved that it’s hard to let it go… but why is it so slow? There’s such a major delay when opening a new image, from the time it takes after hitting the “+” page for the selection box to appear, then again for the selection box to shift upwards (if you don’t wait, you’ll be clicking on the wrong choice), then to finally open the image… it’s maddening always, but especially when I need to edit multiple images. If there’s something I’m doing wrong on my end, I haven’t been able to discover it. It’s now about a 30-second process just to open a photo. And why hasn’t there been an app update in over a year??

Favorite, most powerful editor by far. 19 June update: seems to have fixed the showstopping errors from 07 May update! 👍👍 Hands down the best photo editing app around. I remember when this was an expensive set of Photoshop plugins 10-20 years ago, and its pedigree definitely shows. The maturity and flexibility of the available tools have actually transformed my digital photography workflow from exclusively Photoshop to virtually all Snapseed. Of course print prepping and deeper image manipulation are still best handled in a full desktop app, but everyday edits couldn't be faster or more user friendly in iOS. Love it! ❤️❤️

Snapseed freezes regularly. I’ve used, and loved, Snapseed for years. In the last couple of weeks it’s performance has deteriorated to the point where it is literally unusable. I tried to submit a ticket to report issues, but can’t find an clear avenue to do so. When I open Snapseed (which I have deleted and reloaded to my phone several times in an effort to fix issue), it automatically open my RAW photo in RAW develop mode… and freezes. I can’t edit the image, I can’t escape out of RAW develop, I can’t do anything but force-quit the app! I have updated my iOS software, I have rebooted my phone, I have reinstalled the latest version of Snapseed… nothing has helped. In fact, the situation is now much worse than it was a week ago! It seems like the problems cropped up at the same time as the RAW develop module, but I can’t find a way to disable the jump-to-RAW aspect. Please help!

I used this app for years, and then…. I started using this app when it first came out. It and Camera+ were my go-to’s. But then there was an update that broke Snapseed. I could rarely get pics to open, and when I could, my device would free so thoroughly that I had to force-restart it altogether. I used Snapseed so much that I was actually somewhat lost, editing-wise, for a while, and I kept hoping that the company would fix it. It’s been years now, and I’ve kept the app downloaded and updated just in case they ever fixed it. Well, I gave up today. The company behind this app doesn’t care, and between Camera+ and Photoshop for iPhones and iPads, I have the editing-on-the-go I need. They could fix Snapseed, and I’m still done with it. They should just remove this app at this point. It’s toast.

Snapseed starts crashing. I am not sure if it’s Snapseed fault but it just became useless on my iPhone 8. Every time I want to open “ All Photos “ on my device the app crashes. I used to love Snapseed. Post Scriptum. I had to review my previous review. Apparently it might be the latest IOS updates causing the Snapseed crash. I had the same problem when I tried to select photos to edit from my phone library with other apps too. A quick fix is to Copy your photo from your library and Paste it on Snapseed for editing. Snapseed is so powerful that’s worth the extra steps you might have to do in order to use this app.

Powerful, simple to use, awesome results. I gave Snapseed a try years ago. I was skeptical that it would be any different from other apps I’ve used. Long story short, I continue to be blown away by the results. It is the most underrated and below-the-radar photo app I know. The more you use it, the more you’ll be able to harness it’s quite considerable power. The built-in “Looks” offer some excellent choices for people new to the app, but the real power is in the Tools. SO many ways to make your images realize their potential. And the fact that you can easily go in and surgically undo or modify specific changes you’ve made makes it invaluable. Love love love Snapseed and I hope Google never decides to scrap it.

What happened to this app?!. Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews, they are outdated. For years Snapseed was my go to mobile editing app. It was the first app to support raw photos and generally just had a good selection of tools. A few years ago it was purchased by Google along with the rest of Nik software and I’m pretty sure they intentionally sabotaged it. This app is absolute garbage now! If you’re using it to edit your photos then you should know, even if they look alright to your eyes on your 2 inch screen, they are not. This app is destroying your images and you’ll never bring them back. It will muddy up all the detail in saturated areas, totally blow any highlights and bring noise in the shadows. It hasn’t been updated in years so forget using raw images from any newer cameras. It just creates a low res JPEG preview instead but gives no warning of that. Anything you bring into this app should be thrown out afterwards so you don’t ever mistake it for a decent file. It’s really sad to see what Google did here and I don’t know why they didn’t just take it off the market if that’s what they wanted. At this point it’s doing a disservice to anybody who wants once relied on it or thought it was still a contender in the Mobile photo editing world. Google obviously does some great things but they also do some very terrible things to their competition. This app and the people who depended on it fell victim to that.

Correction. I’m changing my rating after discovering something and remembering something else since writing my former review. If my new findings prove solid I will change it again to four stars, because I do love this app and hope it is as strong as it once was, but I wanna make sure it’s running smoothly. Here’s my findings: For a while my app was freezing and then I couldn’t upload photos to it at all. I just went to check if restrictions were on and they were, so I changed the setting and now I can upload photos and edit them again. I would have figured this much longer ago had there been a restricted access notification when I tried to hit the open button, but since there was not and since Id been having having other issues with the app, I assumed it had just failed. Another problem I was having involved saving images. For years my saved Snapseed images would show up in my main photo collection, and then one day- I now figure it was after an update- I wasn’t finding them in my main photos, so I would instead use the share option and text them to myself and then save them to my photos; I did this for years not realizing until just now that my Snapseed photos had switched storage locations, now ending up in a separate (hard to reach at the bottom of all my other photo folders) Snapseed folder.

It was great—until it wasn’t. When I first discovered Snapseed, I was teaching a smart phone photography class and didn’t know how I was going to be able to help the non-Apple students. This app saved the day. I have relied on it for several years now. My 10,000-word class presentation Is filled with all kinds of Snapseed Screenshots. Students seem to like it a lot. Imagine my dismay when, a couple of weeks ago, the screen turns black whenever I try to access a photo from either my or photos or favorite is filled with all kinds of Snapseed Screenshots. Students seem to like it a lot. Imagine my dismay when, a couple of weeks ago, the screen turns black whenever I tap a photo from either my All Photos or Favorites app album! I can still swipe through the filmstrip if I need to open a photo for editing, but that’s so impractical for 9K images on my iPhone X iOS 12.0.1. During class, I also project live-screen demos from my phone (using an HDMI-to-lightning connector). The only place I’ve found this problem discussed is on Reddit. No one has a solution yet. Please, Google: help!

Professional Artist / Photographer Review. As a professional artist and photographer I'm always on the lookout for apps and gear to enhance prints of my works, and the Snapseed App has been *IT* for me for the last 5 Years. Suggestions: 1). I'd love access to my digital files on iPad instead of having to select and deselect them in batches, having to remove those accessed last before being able to use the App on the go. 2). I would like a feature included so that I might be able to draw on files to touch them up, where the pen or brush tip can be solid to transparent, where the tips are adjustable in thickness, and the gamut of colors and shades are available for use. This is something found in most basic photo apps so I don't have to switch between Apps, transfer files back and forth especially when I'm on a tight schedule. Footnotes: I like my fellow artists, photographers, are always in need of a more broad range of editing tools within an App. We want Apps that are free to inexpensive but not cheap in options and range of uses when possible, from companys that makes multiple apps we can use in the entertainment and art industry. This way we can support the company by marketing their Apps to fellow artists, photographers, authors, actors, singers, other industry colleagues, as well as our Fans and Followers. 📸 Jewell 🎨

Worked great, until it didn’t. I must start by saying that I love Snapseed. I have used it for several months taking inventory photos for my business and it has worked great for me, until it didn’t. I’m not sure what happened, if it update messed with the settings, or what. When I use the text filter it used to work great, now when I use it the words are so tiny that they are barely visible. I have googled everything I can to try to find a fix to this as well as searching within the settings of the app to see if I can change the text size, but with the exception of making the bubble that I’m putting the text in extremely large, I can find no other fix. Also, I have edited hundreds of photos with Snapseed only to wake up one day and ALL of my photos are back to their unedited state. Thankfully I have most of them uploaded to my computer or I would have had to redo them all. Very disappointing. I’m hoping any future updates to the app will fix this and the text functionality because until that happens this app is essentially useless to me and I love this app.

Snapseed. I love the app! Before I got the app I had so many pictures I had taken that were blurry and I couldn’t fix. I had pictures where I just couldn’t find a good filter with the normal ones like vivid or noir. Like the other day I took a pic with my friend and it was so blurry but the editing tools on my phone weren’t enough to make me love my pic. Then I found that snapseed was and an app that let people fix their photos and make them so much better than they were before. Then when I got it I was so relieved that I didn’t have to stick with the boring filters already on my phone that I had used so much that I got tired of the same ones. Also when I wanted to post a picture I did but I never liked the filter very much. The only reason I would post it is because I had no other choice because I didn’t have any other options. I really just started using this app and I love it!!!!

Excellent photo tool. First of all, I like its handy, effective, I don’t need to import pictures into laptop and use Adobe photoshop. Nowadays, people take pictures with no serious purpose, maybe just for posting on social media. A quick makeover is all its purpose. I used serious photo tools long time ago, often it was very time consuming to accomplish a small task. Now Snapseed provides a lot of practical tools, with newer version, Looks->Last edits saves one time for similar batch processing, Tools->True image->Ambiance is my favorite tool to correct color tones, brightness at one time, Tools->True image->Shadows is also useful to save pictures with sharp contrast. Besides, I found this app is easiest to learn. Just select a sample picture, then apply each tool to examine the outcome, it’s fun!

I’m in Love, I’m in Love!. I have been using Snapseed for MANY years; it is the longest-reigning photo editing app in my iLife. Over the years I have tried so many photo apps that seemed promising from their description, but wound up not delivering the goods. The lone survivor of many cullings of my photo apps herd, Snapseed is tried and true! The fact that I am able to edit a photo and then Save the new edited version OVER the original version (by Allowing the app to ‘Modify’) is the reason why I fell in love with the Snapseed app. I am able to write a note or add a label on a photo and then save it without creating a new needless copy and, most importantly, without moving the photo from its original spot in my timeline. This allows my edited photos to remain alongside any untouched photos, in their originally captured order. This simple yet invaluable feature is what makes Snapseed a standout for me! I do wish we could open a chosen photo in Snapseed directly from the Photos app (either via (a) the ‘Edit’ button ‘...’ Activities, or (b) the ‘Share’ button Activities). And honestly, if you were to add a ‘TOOL’ that allows us to draw (and then move/resize/reshape/rotate) lines, arrows and maybe even squares (shapes), you would become the HOLY GRAIL of photo editing apps! I would [figuratively] shout praises of your name from the mountaintops!!! I am always excited and never disappointed when you release an update! Keep up the AMAZING work!!!

I use all the time! I request OLED HDR export.. I use this application all the time! It is my all time favorite editing app. I love that it is free too! I use this app along with Focos, which is perfect for bringing depth of field edits to the photo. The reason for the highlighted area is because I would be appreciative of HDR exporting. I use an iPhone 11 Pro. If I were to edit this photo natively through the Apple Photos Editor, then the HDR features of the photo would be saved. This HDR takes advantage of the OLED screen enabling it to produce greater contrast in darks and highlights. Focos exports like this, but I cannot edit a photo in Snapseed first and then receive those HDR outcomes. So that is something I’d like to see come to this app. Also I’d like to see more export options. TIFF, HEIC, etc. PNG export is in the app, but I’m not sure how good it works. I never noticed PNG and Transparent attributes to photos or vectors I import as PNG. I do wish the healing feature would be more advanced. Also I’d like to see Ai photo enhance, enlargement, sharpening, and advanced facial edits. Ai Depth of field additions would be a great addition to make it a more well-rounded app and editing suite. I’m thankful for the native features now, including Dark Mode! It’s amazing! I’m very thankful for the review edits tab because I can also draw in certain edits where I want them in the photo. Thanks, Matthew C.

Blemishes, Acne and Scars.. i got this app because i was looking at pictures of my girlfriend and she’s very insecure about her facial acne and scars... so, i looked into a simple photoshop esk app for covering this up. this app was trending so i tried it out. it was very smooth and between a simple filter and some smoothing out with their wand, it was amazing. zoom in and you can work with every little (i know this sounds gross but it’s real life) zit, pimple, pore and scar and cover it up how you want to. between this amazing and handy trick the filters are great, you can crop, edit, add text, change brightness, sharpness, saturation etc. it’s truly and amazing app. plus... ITS FREE! download it and see if you like it!

After years of use, finally looking for another app.. I’ve been using this app for almost a decade now and while I love this app for its simplistic menus and fluidity while editing, the lack of updates and the silent communication from the developers doesn’t make me comfortable in staying, especially when the iPhone 15 is now taking RAW photos and the support for RAW is slowly failing, with super long buffer times that I don’t even know if it will process, so I’m slowly editing less and less. No new features in so long makes this app feel like it’s slowly lagging behind. I don’t think I’ll ever delete this app because it’s still very simple for small adjustments, but I don’t know if I can trust it for a real project I’m working on. Great app but it feels like it’s falling behind. Hope to see Google revitalize it.

Snapseed is my muse.. I’ve been using Snapseed as my go-to app for years now. It’s the first in a chain of editing apps if I’m feeling creative, and often the last as well. Their photo tools alone offer more than many editing apps, but the Portrait, Head Pose, and Looks features are essential for photos on the go. I always start with Healing, usually followed by a hint of Glamour Glow, and even Noir if I’m in that sort of mood (which is often; LOVE the Noir). Also, among all the editing apps that I own and have tried, their Vignette feature is my favorite by far, which seems a minor thing, but really isn’t. Honestly there are far too many adjustable features and filters to go into in this space, just from a photo editing perspective; I’ve barely mentioned the artistic applications, which seem endless. I will never not use this app. Dig it and dig in.

My fave photo editing app!!!. Is worth say that i have a masters degree in digital photography... I have tried countless photo editing apps for both the iphone and ipad pro. Without a doubt, SnapSeed is my absolute fave app on the ipad pro and iphone. It gives me incredible power to enhance my images, i love the precision i get when using apple pencil, the healing tool works amazingly! The new updates of double exposures and expansion of images are amazing!!! So creators of Snapseed please dont kill me because i know you already have the best photo editing app! But hear me out, if you add warping and gradients i will simply stop using all other photographic apps.

The Worst. This application is great. It has so many features and so much you can use to edit. Literally the only problem is that it does not save your edited photos properly. You’ll edit it to perfection, save a copy, and when you go into your photos to look at it—BAM— there are darkened, yellowed corners out of nowhere. All the editing you did was pointless. Even if you go into the app again, use the Selective tool to correct it, and save, the copy will STILL not save to look how it looked in the app. It will somehow transform when you save it, and it will look awful. It will look unlike anything how it looked in the app. This is infuriating. It makes using the app pointless. Why would I spend so much time editing a photo to look perfect only to have it save looking like someone went in a screwed it all up? I’m opening the app, changing NOTHING about a image, saving it, and even those unedited images come out looking like someone spilt coffee on the corners of it. HOW? As an artist who relies on apps like this to help me post great looking work, I am beyond disappointed. If a photo looks great, it should still look great AFTER you save it. It should look IDENTICAL to how it looked in the app. It doesn’t make any sense why it would suddenly change between saving it and looking at it in your phone’s photo album. I don’t know what kind of bug butchers photos that bad only after they’ve been saved but boy did I waste my time trying to get it to look normal. It’s impossible.

Freezes continuously. After editing only 3 photos and opening the 4th and selecting the blur feature, the program just froze for 30 seconds. Finally when swiped to close, it minimized and when I tapped the icon, it opened back up to show the tool within the feature I had selected, but was frozen on that. I began to notice if I tapped another tool within blur and minimized it, it would change only when I minimized and maximized it. I restarted the phone, but nothing changed. I was met with same result trying other features as well. I was never able to edit the 4th photo. I have little patience with products that don’t work right out of the gate, so I deleted the app. Saw a this topic on Reddit that goes back 3 years, filled post after post the same complaint and no working resolution posted. How can this be? It surely must work for some. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

Hands Down The Best!. I have been using Snapseed for over a year now. I use a plethora of other photo editing apps (Photoshop, Pixlr, Enlight, Aviary, Facetune, etc). Hands down, this has so much more to offer than any other app and I find this to be my go to App. The Tools that make this so worth while: the HD tool, healing tool, and the selective area tool (allowing you to lighten or enhance any portion of the photograph). Having said that, there is only one tool that I do still need that is offered in other apps and is not available on Snapseed. A blur tool. I find when I am in need of this tool I resort to Aviary (no longer supported) or Facetune. If this was included, I would have no reason to use any other App. Thank you Snapseed, maybe someday you would consider adding a blur tool.

Unusable now. I used to love Snapseed, but now it keeps exporting with reduced quality, despite my having double checked the settings. It is exporting 12+ megapixel images as 3.1 megapixel. So I have to use the roundabout way to save to Files instead, from the share menu. I cannot easily open the images I want, since it is a mess trying to open images from Snapseed, without a proper file picker. All the images on my iPad show up together in the terrible tile view. I have marked my favorites in Google Photos, but for some reason, I can't share directly to Snapseed. So I have to download them first. Then if I try to start from Files to find the photo, when I use the share menu and select Snapseed, Snapseed says "Error, Could not load image". I've double checked my settings and Snapseed has access to all photos. Sometimes the image will load as read only, and then Snapseed doesn't give me the option to Save, only to export, which is broken as I wrote. Between the broken export and the difficulty getting images from Google Photos to open in Snapseed, I can't get anything done.

Avoid 2.18.2 update if you already use Snapseed.. As many have already expressed their frustration with the latest version, it is prone to crashing. Once it crashes, the app becomes unstable (repeated crashing on app launch or picture selection) which leads me to have to delete and reinstall the app. I have lost quite a few saved “Looks” and a cumulative sum of a few hours because of this issue. It’s still my go-to photo editing app but I have to take precautions when using to avoid lost work/time (eg. “Save a copy” periodically so I can re-import the picture with all the edit steps and re-save as a “look” after the app crashes and is reinstalled). Overall a powerful and feature full app FOR FREE! Highly recommend and I’m anticipating the next update that hopefully address the crashing problem. -iPhone 8 -iOS 11.4.1

App freezing in iOS 14.5.1. The app freezes and phone hangs when you click on Tools -> Tune Image, or Details. Couldn’t check if selecting any tool does the same thing. But these two tools definitely freeze the app, so much that even the power button doesn’t respond. (That is, you can’t turn off the iPhone screen in this freeze) Now, the reason I wrote all this in a review is - Snapseed is the best Photo editing app, even for professionals! Apart from some tuneups I am expecting in future, I rely a lot on this app, and hence want it to keep performing awesome. Otherwise, my workflow is broken when there’s even a slightest bug. I have both Lightroom and Snapseed and they do different things for me. Some tuneups to images are only seamlessly possible in Snapseed.

Best Photo Editing App. Taking photos is one of my favorite hobbies. Editing photos, well...it’s just not. While helping my sister start her own business, we needed product photos. I snapped some off my phone that looked nice, but they needed an extra boost through editing. No other photo editing apps I was previously using were doing it for me. So, I went looking. Found this one and instantly fell in love! I send all my photos through this app before posting now. Super simple to use. I love the swiping feature to go between settings and to adjust settings. It makes the whole process seamless and effective. Only thing I wish I could do, and it’s entirely possible I’m just not seeing it because I’m still learning new things on this app everyday, is to edit specific colors in the photo. Otherwise, this app is hands down the absolute best!

Great App. I just want to say that this app is amazing for editing photos and I use it daily as a young, and (hopefully soon to be professional) photographer. I have won awards with some of my photos that I have edited using this app, but some skill is needed too. You need to have the right mindset to be good at taking quality photos. Personally, I think that anyone could benefit from using this app and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their photos. My photography teacher told me about it and I really like it. Thank you to to Google for creating this app.

Good but annoying issues. When I first got this app I was so in love with it! There’s a lot of options for editing and I had fun messing around with everything. However, lately the app keeps crashing. I’ll go to edit a photo and it’ll just freeze up entirely, messing up my entire phone. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but nothing works. It’s only on some pictures too. Others will be fine, then I’ll go to edit specific ones and the whole app begins to crash. I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max too so I know it’s not my phone, and apparently a lot of people are having the same issues. I’ve been looking up solutions and nothing works. Would be five stars if it wasn’t for this, it really gets on my nerves when I’m just trying to do a quick edit!!

Unparalleled. The app is very intuitive, and even the advanced features aren't cluttered or overly complicated (that said, performance and accuracy isn't compromised either). There are a lot of features, and I like how you can choose to save your edits step by step, and can see exactly what you did (and even undo!) after a picture is saved. This does everything you need it to do, and if you spend a lot of time you can get professional grade editing. The only reason I'm not giving this 5/5 is because I seem to be having a problem with the newest update. I can't open pictures, like at all. Even ones I'm certain I've edited with this app. It's a pretty major issue but I don't want to dissuade anyone from getting this because of a bad update, since I've never had a single issue before. Hopefully it will be patched soon.

Amazing App!. I use this app ALL the time on my phone. I’ve also recommended it to others who use it all the time now too. I’m a designer and use Photoshop/Illustrator/Lightroom on desktop. Snapseed is my go-to when editing photos on my phone. I have a request for developers - would it be possible to add a feature when masking layers, where you can make straight-line selections quickly? I mask a lot, and many times I’m masking out a square object. It would be amazing to have a feature where I can tap on the corner of the square, and then tap the other corner and have it make a straight line, like the Polygonal Lasso tool in Photoshop. If you added this feature it would be amazing!

Amazing mobile app on the go!. This app is so great! I don’t have to pay a subscription like I have to for Lightroom and I am able to edit raw photos! The only downfall is that it has become very laggy, when after I edit a photo from the raw adjustments so I can move on to other adjustments, it becomes stuck in the loading/processing part and then crashes more often now. And whenever I work on photos that involve portraits, using the portrait and healing features, it looks fine within the app. But when I export them to my camera roll, it seems like there is an exporting issue and the portraits look really bad and it looks like the blemishes that’s I took away with the healing app actually get heighten and look even worst. Same for when I use the portrait feature as well. So there is an exporting issue and loading issue with raw files. Other than that, it’s a great app for on the go, run and gun type of style when I don’t want too or can pull out my laptop. I hope these issues get fixed in a future update.

A Must-Have App For All Serious Photographers. This is one of a very select number of apps that appear on my coveted front page. Its ability to smartly select areas for selective retouching is uncannily accurate; its Structure feature beats anything Photoshop can do; and its Ambience tool provides a wonderful combination of brightness, shadow opening, warmth, and even incredible highlight protection all at once. On top of that are regularly-introduced enhancements like the Curves tool, and the incredible White Balance tool which allows you to see your eyedropper effect in real time as you drag it around your image – a huge advantage I have not seen in any other mobile app or even desktop program. On top of all of this, there are other miraculous effects that seem to be added every other week that are too numerous to delineate here but are absolutely worth exploring. My only two wishes are that 1) a clone tool be added; and 2) there were even more options in the Selective and Brush Tools. Still, I recommend this app without reservation.

Great photo editor, but room for improvement. Have been using this for a while now and so far it has been great. The presets have been very useful and really helps bring any pictures to life. Then there are several tools for fine tuning the image if a preset alone isn’t enough. One thing I really wish was possible in the app, was allowing more selective lens blur. The lens blur creates a cool effect of having an optical focus, but the selection is limited to circle/ellipse shapes. This does not allow the focus to be put on the specific object, which throws off the effect of depth on the picture. It would be awesome to use the brush feature to select an exact area to apply the lens blur to. This would give a more accurate effect of focusing the image on one particular thing, while keeping the entire background out of focus.

Amazing but!. Truly amazing I have been creating all types of fine photography and art with Snapseed for years ever since its beginning. Love the new features continue to upgrade because I feel as though I'm the ambassador and would love to see more! Every one thinks I'm on a computer editing Lightroom or ps but I'm on Snapseed that goes for every single piece of my work check my | IG:poorspirit | and you'll see! Please make changes for face enhancement it destroys shadows on face and neck far too often i have to dodge & burn. I think medium leaves orange tint around face and hair and it gets noticeable sometimes. Last when I deeply edit as I should catching the small details once I pass about 6 layers the image beings to distort and has pixels and rings in shadows & highlights. HEALING DONE TO IMAGE IS ALTERED INCORRECT AFTER IMAGE IS SAVED!!!!!

Works PERFECTLY until it doesn’t.. I used to love this app for editing my pictures. I’d mostly use the healing pen and the Expand crop tool. The app works great overall until for some reason it completely freezes your screen and it will stop being responsive for as long as 1-2 minutes. During this time, it does not let you exit out of the app even if you attempt to press the off button or swipe up to exit the app… This is at very random times and it has cost me a lot of pictures I’ve had to re-edit because it does not save it automatically. It has come to the point where I can no longer use the Expand crop tool because it freezes as soon as I choose that option. I’m not sure why it has this glitch but it has ruined this app for me.

Tools are great, but glitchy. Using this app for a photography class for editing and creating a color splash effect worked great and was a huge (and free) lifesaver until recently where I get halfway through editing a photo and the brush tool becomes unresponsive, making it impossible to finish my work I already spent a bunch of my time on. If I try and save what I have, the entire app becomes unresponsive. I then have to close the app and start all over, so I find myself rushing through editing just to get *something* done before the brush tool and soon after the app becomes unresponsive again. Extremely frustrating when I have a busy schedule in college and can’t spend all day editing each image 5+ times just for one rushed result. Other than that this app is GREAT for what it allows you to do, especially on an iPad. I’d love if this could get fixed so I can continue to use this app well after this class, because when it works, it’s amazing.

App crashing after exported edit of photo?. Hello, so now for the last 6 months I have to reinstall the app after about 1 to 3 photo edits. What happens after applying all my edits I go to export photo from the three options. Doesn’t matter what option I pick it will crash. After crash it does safe the photo but if I try to go back into app it just opens and then closes out. At this time now not being able to use the app at all. So then I have to delete the app and reinstall to do more editing but the same process of 1 to 3 photos then it crashes and having to delete then reinstall again. Can you guys please fix his I love this app but have installed it now a zillion times to keep using it and it’s getting old that it keeps crashing. It never used to do this. Could you guys please help? Hopefully to read this since the help app side won’t let me write a note like this there. Thanks, Franklin. W

Devs Please Read!. I will change this review once this is corrected... I use this app all the time on my iPad Pro. Normally I love it however just in the last couple days it is not working properly. After I do some minimal touching up of my photos I push the button to upload the edited photo to my photos. It will start going through the motions of uploading the edited photo but then now it starts spinning in a blue circle like it’s thinking but it gets stuck. While it is doing this I can not do anything, get it to stop, upload a new pic, etc. I have tried getting in & out of the app many times & have also deleted then reloaded the app hoping this would fix any minor glitches. Sadly nothing has worked.. I really do not want to have to download another app.. I use your app all of the time & really would like to continue using it!! Please fix this & advise where do I go to get this fixed?? There is nothing wrong w/my iPad Pro & this has nothing to do w/me trying to do too many edits at once.. Doesn’t matter what I do. Your app will not allow me to upload anything.. HELP!!

What happened to color bubbles. I was using Snapseed today and I couldn’t find a feature that I had been using a couple of weeks ago. I can’t remember what tool it was but I remember it gave you the option to adjust individual colors. Color bubbles appeared on the right side of the screen and you could select a color to saturate it. I used it a lot the past few weeks to saturate the pink on some cherry blossom images. I tried every tool and I can’t find it now. I’m going crazy 😜 It wasn’t the selection or curves tools. Curves gives you color bubbles on the bottom. This one had lots more colors and they were on the right side. Maybe I imagined it? Thanks for your help..

Snapseed continues to evolve gracefully. Thanks to the consistent attention that Snapseed still gets from the dev team, it remains one of the top, if not the top app, for photo editing still to this day. Ease of use, huge variety of tools... could def use a few small add ons and improvements but overall it’s amazing app. Would love to see for the future: 1. A modern update to the grunge, grainy film, and retrolux tools. 2. Full control over color choices when using the black and white tool rather than being limited to only a few select gels. ie. Choose any color to be filtered through instead of the limited hard set color options. Blues are very powerful but the specific blue available is not always applicable. Being able to adjust HSL would very valuable. 3. Add blur back to vignette as it once was ages ago 4. Add a “dust/emulsion” tool 5. Add a HSL tool FINALLY!!! ❤️ 6. Add a toning tool for cross process. 7. Improve QR Sharing both aesthetically in regard to the image Snapseed output for sharing, as well as make the ability to scan a Snapseed QR look into into the app via images loaded from the camera roll. — the current QR feature only allows you to use your camera to scan an image, which ironically defeats the entire purpose of sharing QR looks from Snapseed at the moment. 8. BONUS: BATCH PROCESS!!! Pleassssse!!!

From amazing to unreliable. I have been a major fan of Snapseed for years, turning many friends onto its powerful photo editing tools. But with the latest update in June of 2018, it has all of a sudden become unreliable. I recently returned from a 3-day trek into the Grand Canyon, and spent an hour editing photos using Snapseed. Yesterday I went to post some of the pics, and more than half of the photos I had edited had reverted to their unedited state. Confused, I spent another hour editing the photos, and then posted a couple on Instagram. Today, I went to post another photo, and discovered yet again, several of my photos had automatically reverted to their unedited state. I can share screenshots showing one of the photos I posted to Instagram looks totally different that the photo on my phone now. This is extremely frustrating, time-wasting and makes me lose complete faith in trusting my photos to Snapseed. Please, please fix this!!!!

Not sure what happened to this app. I used to LOVE this app. Mostly for the expand function. Even though it wasn’t perfect, I could always open it in a different app and use a “heal” feature. (Snapseed’s heal feature is not the best.) But now, when I try to expand a picture more than twice, it just freezes and won’t let me expand it anymore. It just now froze my entire phone up (wouldn’t even let me force quit/swipe up on the app). The other thing that drove me to write this review, is that whenever I export the photo…. It does not look the same. If I happen to use the heal feature after expanding a photo, after export there will be random specs all over the area I tried to heal. It looks fine before exporting, but then it saves all wonky. Sometimes it doesn’t save the changes at all upon exporting!!! I’m so disappointed as I used to love this app and I don’t know if any other app that has the expand feature :/

Saved pictures blank in phone gallery. Could not find a place to send developer feedback for a problem I’m experiencing, so I had to leave a review instead. I’m using an iPhone X on IOS 13.2. Anytime I save an image in Snapseed via any save method (save, save as copy, or export), the image “saves” but only shows up as a blank image in the iPhone picture gallery. It cannot be viewed in any other way, opened with any other apps, or even opened again with Snapseed. This means any and all photos I have tried to edit do not save correctly and pretty much makes the whole app non-functional. I have screenshots of you would like them and a record screen video to show you what’s happening. Please fix - as it stands now, this app is not functional without being able to properly save images after editing. Once fixed, I will update my review. Thanks!

Adding free form focus points!!!. I really love using this app to edit all my photos. I’m rating 4 stars, to possibly grab your attention on a few new suggestions to add into the apps editing features. First, I think adding a free form focus area in the Lens Blur instead of shapes would be AMAZING. Along with that adding the ability to not just have one focal point, but multiple focal pints, while still being able to blur out the background or things the editor doesn’t want the photo to focus on. Another new feature you should add to this app should be to have a onscreen convenient undo/redo buttons while using any tool in the app; that way the editor won’t have to continuously click in and out of the tool in order to make an alter to an edit or to fix a mistake. I realize there’s an erasing tool, but when you have much to edit and a list of other photos you plan to edit as well, it is time consuming; not to mention that many people using there fingers to edit will likely cause a mistake to worsen by using the eraser tool, which is well - another negative. - Anyways I really do hope someone who can add these two features read my review, and will actually consider adding these two features. I guarantee it will make many people happy. -Overall though, this photo editing app is AMAZING and I highly recommend using it!!!

Stopped working at 20 mp. I've used Snapseed regularly but recently upgraded my camera from a Panasonic gx85 to a gx9. Since then every time i load an image i can use the perspective tool but if I try and use any of the tune image functions my ipad 3 freezes. The only difference i can see it's that the new photos are 20 mp but that's within the snapseed specs.

Would be a solid app. I used to Snapseed a fair bit, and would use it more - except that since an update a little while ago, ANY pictures that I take with my front camera on my iPhone are flipped upside down? It’s very annoying, and has been the case with two iPhone models now. Would recommend more except that this seems like such a basic thing to fix

App constantly freezes on iPhone 12 Pro Max. the app has some great features but it consistently freezes my phone and I never know what photo will cause it to lock up. I understand RAW images are large and could overload the app but I don’t even try to process a RAW image in the app yet even small jpg files can cause a crash. Its very annoying to say the least as restarting the phone can be a painful process too

Great app. This is possibly one of my favourite editing apps, it is better then Lightroom and VSCO, it is also completely free and it allows everything to be accessed without having to pay anything which is really great. I have tested a few dozen editing apps and it is probably the best, it has features that usually have to be paid for and although people complain about the photo quality I have not really found any of this to be an issue.

Constantly Freezes. It was working really well at the start, I then one day had photos to edit and i chose a photo and selected a tool to use and the whole app froze, i couldn’t get out of it, i couldn’t even turn my phone off. I couldn’t do anything in it at all, it still to this day does the same thing. i’ve tried to restart my phone, re install the app and it did nothing.

Used to be my favourite app. Until it started glitching and crashing on my new iPad, this was one of my favourite apps. I have been using it since day 1 on numerous devices, even used to teach mobile photography and terminology with it when it was still using analogue / darkroom terms. It started going downhill few years ago, looking more basic and tired with each update, but now it’s freezing all the time on new devices and it looks like this is the end of the road. Such a shame.

Freezing Since Update. I used to recommend this to everyone but now; since the last update, every photo I try to edit freezes & I have to press my power button to close the app otherwise my whole phone is locked.

Raw Development. I really love the app I’ve used it for a long time. I’m trying to edit raw files and the main issue I see is usually when I use the highlight slider it literally does nothing, need to be able to section off parts of the image to Change different exposures, and the app crashes half the time - Need better raw support This needs to be improved because the app is so close perfect.

Poor performance of late.. Lately I’ve noticed when starting to edit a new picture after selecting it the screen is blank and gives no option than to close the app and start again. None of the usual icons and options appear not can they be accessed. It’s frozen. Quite frustrating really for what is an absolutely brilliant app usually.

Good photo app. I really like this app for editing photos. However it still hasn’t been updated to adjust for the iPhone notch so you can’t zoom in to the upper portions of an image to edit them which is really frustrating. One other thing I would want is for the selective editing to have a square edge tool rather than just the circle version of it. Other than that it’s a good app.

Doesn’t work with iOS 11.3. Don’t bother ever using Snapseed on iOS. You will lose your edits overnight. Every few iOS updates Snapseed decides to spot remembering your edits to photos and your library of edited photos will permanently revert back to their originals. You could lose years worth of edits in one update. This means the only way to reliably keep edits is to save a photos as a new jpeg, meaning you can’t revise edits once saved. This isn’t a one off problem. Google it (hahahaha I see the irony). This has happened many times before and crops up with each major iOS update. Could be Google’s fault, could be Apple’s fault, but it doesn’t matter because you’ll lose your photo edits either way.

Love this app!. The filters etc are not extensive, but I find that the ones that are there are ones that I keep coming back to more than other apps I own because they produce the exact look that I want. One thing I’d love to see added is the ability to alter each hue individually, as I usually end up going to other apps to get that. But I will say that people are looking at photos that I’ve taken with my iPad and edited in Snapseed and saying ‘wow’! Definitely money well spent on this app!

Can't open jpeg files from iPhone XS. I love Snapseed and recommend it to all my photographer friends, but lately I find I can't open jpeg files taken on my iPhone XS on my iPhone XS or my iPad Pro both with the latest iOS 13.1.2, or large jpeg files from my DSLRs . . Well the good news is, I just deleted the App on both my iPhone XS and my iPad Pro then reinstalled it and found the problem is fixed, I can now open and edit any size jpegs from any device. . Voila!

Fantastic photo Editor by any measure ... but. I use Snapseed before uploading to Instagram every, single time #grizzlyhollen, but, please consider undo arrows in the brushes tool. The only other thing I would love is the ability to fade or mix in the the effect of the last tool with the previous step

Not Happy!!. I’ve loved this app pretty much forever. I’m into iPhone Photography and most of my edited photos are done in Snapseed. I am now finding that it’s just close to impossible to edit a photo as it just freezes. I’ve tried loads of work arounds but nothing seems to help. I’ll be leaving here shortly if things don’t change and I’ll be sorry to go. It’s been a great app but something is really wrong now!!

Wow!. Fantastic editor. Finally an editor that is intuitive, powerful and works. Wow just wow. Officially my favourite photo edit app. Just one feature would be cool - allow me to select an area in the photo (e.g. skyline) and modify this region only. Otherwise fantastic app.

Can’t open photos from device. This app is pointless. It will not let you open photos from your device to edit. It will maybe do it once then freeze and not allow you to open anymore photos from your device. It’s been like this for ages, highly annoying, thought it would be fixed by now.

What has happened?. I’ve used and love Snapseed for years now, I rate it above all other tools available for phones. Always been 5 star! But in the last week or so all my edits keep disappearing! I’ve spent hours editing photos to ha e them revert back to the original a day or so later, it seemed to be fixed and now it’s happening again. If it’s not sorted soon I’ll need to find an alternative program, as I just can’t keep losing all my work.

Absolutely unacceptable default 95% Jpg. I can absolutely annoyed that your app comes with default setting 95% jpg as the standard format! After you finally upload your pictures on Instagram you’ve already lost about half the quality! I’ve edited so many images on your app and I can’t believe they could have 5% more quality if your app didn’t compress them. Super p***** off!!! You need to have this as a push notification for people who enjoy editing high quality photos who don’t want their photos compress! Soooo annoyed right now!!!!! 😤

Used all the time. I love an app where you don’t have to keep unlocking features by paying. Works so well but would love to see more updates close to some of the other paid apps have. Also can you make a windows 10 app. Can’t find one.

Keeps freezing on iPadOS 14 and above. I love using this app on my phone and I wanted to use it on my iPad Air version 14.6 but when I tried using, it kept getting frozen when I picked any tool. Please fix this as I would love to use it on iPad.

100% THE Best Photo Edit App!!!. That I’ve used for easy of editing photos straight on your iphone. Spent the entire first afternoon and fluent at it and produced a dozen edited photos. Amazing ease of use and work flow seemlessly. I’ve been using tech and programs 20 years. Amazing built thank you so much whoever built this is a smart app designer for the end user.

Was awesome. This was my favourite photo editing app, however after the last update it keep freezing which is enormously frustrating. It works at times but is now very unreliable. I can’t seem to find where to contact support to fix this.

Great App until last update? Still no fix?! 😳. I LOVE this app! But, with the last update the text styles are not working properly. I did submit a report through the app itself & now constantly checking for another update which rectifys the problem.

iPhone 14 Pro max issues with raw photos not loading up. I love this Snapseed app, but lately there has been an issue with trying to load up a raw image. If I delete the app, and reload it, I can upload 1 raw image and edit. But when I try to upload a second raw image, it freezes every time. I’m hoping the developer can fix this issue with an update to the app in the near future. Cheers, Ross.

Love Snapseed app but... Have loved using the Snapseed app for a long time now. And use it everyday. But the new update has recently meant that when you go to do a full crop on photos it pulls down the iPhone screen with it. Making a crop impossible in one swipe. So to avoid that you have to do a double crop. It’s quite annoying.

Same issues, upgrade resolved nothing. I’m incredibly annoyed and frustrated with the latest upgrade! The issue of Snapseed freezing when opening Apple Raw files(DNG) is still crippling this once brilliant app! I deleted and reinstalled the app after reading that it may fix the problem, but alas I am still unable to open DNG files and ‘develop’ the image. PLEASE Google resolve this issue once and for all as it has existed for over 18 months now?!

Great app, but.... I love the app and how simple it is to edit photos, my only problem with it would have to be that you can’t open Snapseed straight from the photo app unlike apps like Photoshop Express. Otherwise, really great app for editing photos, would highly recommend it

Really great app for editing on the go!. As a photographer I find this app imperative for editing my shots prior to uploading them to Instagram (mostly iPhone shots - but also when wifi’d from my camera!). I would super love to see one addition to the new double exposure filter - the ability to mask the image so that the double exposure is added in selected areas only. 5 stars if this feature is improved!

Underrated, only free HDR and more. absolutely amazing! I’ve been looking for a free app with a good HDR editor and this is the only one, the best thing is the brush feature where u can choose where to change exposure, u can do this with other things as well, insane app!

App freezes on some of its features.. Since I upgraded to Iphone12promax, i have been dealing with problems with some of the app’s features such as “healing, lens blur and tune image”. I thought it was because of the system upgrade but after doing the upgrade i still have those problems. I hope it get fixed because i love this app.

Really great app. Aside from being free, I love the apps UI is touch optimised, I can swipe up and down to change between parameters within a tool, makes the interface a lot cleaner and easier to use and progressively learn, instead of bombarding me with a whole of tools. I do 90% of my edits in Affinity, but occasionally it’s nice to have a handy tool to import a photo to the photo and tweak it on the fly. I’m not really one to use a whole lot of preset filters and never buy those in app purchases, so having an app with intuitive tooling is really nice. One suggestion I will make is to have the photos extension so I can open a photo directly from the Photos edit menu and perform edits (in contrast, the import/export/save options are really the noticeably worst experience of the whole app)

New update breaks settings. I have used Snapseed for a number of years and it is great. However in the latest build (vers. 2.20.1) the settings don’t work properly anymore. If you try and change size or quality if you tap on the setting you want it won’t change, it’s stuck on Original Size and 95% quality jpeg. Please fix this issue. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app but didn’t help. I’m on an iPhone 11 Pro running the latest iOS 14.5.1.

Good app but some issues. Snapseed does not work in my iPhone 12max anymore. App freezes on startup and non responsive. Another issue is when I open a picture to edit in the app and select tools and tune image the app freezes. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times. This happens on my iPhone with iOS 14.8 Tried many ways but it is unuseable now . Please fix, thanks

A year of 1 star reviews & STILL no response or fix!!!. Our phones keep crashing and freezing when using this app - check all the reviews for the past YEAR (Dec 2020-Dec 2021 so far), talking about this issue - yet there is ZERO response from the developers. This is not good enough, google!! Please restore what used to be a brilliant app, if it's not able to be fixed! That way we can carry on using it while you perhaps tinker trying to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place.

Awesome. Great app! I've been looking for a decent photo editing app which is easily acessable on iPhone, and this ticks all the boxes and more. The wide range of filters and colours is really useful, compared to other photo editors that are really limited. I'm not sure if there are new features coming to this, but if there are I'll be looking forward to them!

Snapseed - best iPad photo editor.. Love this app if does a major proportion of what I need to do to my photos. One thing I would like extra would a 6*4 portrait format for sizing. It’s there for landscape as 3*2, but not easy to use as a substitute for a true 6*4 portrait format. Great app.

Great App. I love Snapseed photo editing tool and use it constantly on both my iPhone and my iPad. It is not over complicated and is so easy to use. It can make almost any photo look great. This review would have certainly been a 5 star rating except that I have recently bought a new Apple Mac M1 and prior to purchasing the laptop I had read that Snapseed was available for Mac OS. I was so excited to be able to use Snapseed and be able to edit my photos on my Mac M1 laptop only to be bitterly disappointed that it is not available on Mac OS after all. Please tell me a Mac OS compatible version will be released soon. 🙏 No other editing app comes close to the usability of Snapseed, my favourite photo editing tool.

Couldn’t open multiple RAW images on double exposure. Hi, This is a wonderful app. But recently when I tried to open two RAW images of size 25mb on double exposure, the app got hanged and closed. Any idea why this happened?

Great app but please support more cameras Raw files. This application is great. I have recently been testing Snapseed vs Lightroom CC and I believe Snapseed comes out on top because it has all the capabilities and functions that Lightroom currently lacks and can only be accessed in the desktop variant. I only have one criticism, please increase your support for other cameras raw files. I have a Fujifilm x70 that I’d love to use with this program to edit raw files but unfortunately it is not currently supported. The Fuji x100t is currently supported and has the same sensor and processor as the x70...

Needs more work to stay current. Used to be a fantastic app but a lack of continued development has let it slip from great to nothing but less than ordinary and does no longer provide anything special. 1. I feel is it’s missing is a batch edit tool, I know I can copy the edit stack and paste into the next photo but going through the process for over hundred photos gets a bit monotonous. 2. Allow the edit of metadata such as date, time and location. 3. Improved noise reduction 4. Support for more RAW formats...!!! Canon CR3 currently just opens as normal photo, no access to the ‘Develop’ window 5. Ability to edit meta data or at least geolocation Happy to change my rating and feedback if developer makes an effort beyond bug fixes. Edit: Added further feedback

The best free photo app by miles. I only have one request, pretty please make a BLUR tool that you draw with your finger like the healing tool! No other app has this that I can find. It would be so useful for blurring out phone numbers/privacy purposes for faces in the background. Everything else is perfection!!

what’s the problem?. Snapseed has been my favourite photo editing app for years. I have an iphone 12 pro max and ever since I bought this phone almost a year ago Snapseed has been a nightmare. It freezes constantly and I have to restart the phone to even get out of the app. The net has hundreds of complaints from people with the same issue - why is this taking so long to fix? please address this.

Love this app, but problem with latestes update. I’ve loved using this app in the past! It’s got plenty of quality tools and features to help create professional edits. The only problem is since the most recent update the app crashes every time I try to open a RAW file. Please fix this issue asap.

Great for extending photos for Instagram!. You know how Instagram crops photos weird? Well I was stuffing around for ages trying to get the right cropping and I ended up having to extend the border of the photo. Downloaded this app, found the feature in two seconds flat, didn’t have to do any sign up or skip past the orientation “get to know the app” feature. So easy legit edited the photo in 5 seconds. Would totally recommend for this one feature. I didn’t use any other features but I was just so pleased I found an easy solution that I wrote a review

Latest update crashes app.. Great application- had it since the beginning, however the last update has glitched it somehow. When you open a photo like normal, as soon as you edit the app freezes and the phone crashes. This application was really great and simple to use. Please fix :)

Easy to use and free. I haven't tried all the options yet, I'm finding it has everything I need and more. The app was free for me when I downloaded it. It's easy to use and brilliant. I've bought other apps to try them but always return to Snapseed.

Great but needs an update. Can’t open images except from camera roll, seems to be a bug. App locks up if you open from other devices or albums (the only fix is to delete the app and reinstall) ————— The biggest features I wish for are 1) a quality noise reduction feature!!!!!!!!!!! 2) I'd like in the black and white section to have sliders to control the monochrome conversion. Eg magenta, yellow, nuetrals, black, white, cyan etc etc. that way I can make a black and white photo have the same pop as if it were in colour. The current selection of just a few preset colour filters doesn’t work well enough. 5 stars if those features were added Update: Years later since I first reviewed & we still need noise reduction. I still have to go over to PS express or Lightroom for this feature

Awful performance over the last year or so. It’s actually unusable for me now. The app freezes on every single interaction, I can’t even switch my screen off, that button physically doesn’t even work anymore. I have to wait 5-10 seconds for my phone to respond. It’s been getting steadily worse since the beginning of 2021. Please address this.

Have you forgotten about us?. 11 months since last update. Was a great app but it seems you have given up on it and your users. I can not save any edits to my camera roll. Just won’t show. Exports but where too? Such a shame… It was my go to app for years. 😢

This app was great, until it was completely broken. Used to edit my pictures for years with this app, until it became completely and utterly unusable. I'm not even able to exit the app, it becomes unresponsive and I have to turn my iPhone off to kind of kill the app to regain access to my iPhone. I don't know what they have done to it but there's a MAJOR FLAW in this app now. So major in fact that it freezes the iPhone completely. Until they fix this huge issue, it's a no go for me.

RAW images won’t launch - gets stuck and won’t open!!. Used to be my favourite APP to edit my RAW images. Not sure what happened in the past year or so but my RAW images will not load. I select the image, then it goes to the developer…..then just a spinning blue circle FOREVER….. losing a loyal user now. I need something to edit my RAW images that doesn’t crash EVERY SINGLE TIME using RAW photos. What a disappointment.

Dommage pour le format RAW. Bonne app mais dommage que le format RAW rame énormément impossible de télécharger les photos mais sinn si elle sont en JPEG impeccable.

used to be the best. now crashes. garbage.. sad story.

Broken. Completely broken and 100% unable to use since my upgrading to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I will load an image to edit, go to adjust, then it will freeze like a computer from 1998 and I have to restart my phone in order to use it again. Completely picks up my phone. Couch a shame because their is my die hard photo editing app. Why does Google hate its customers?

Crashes on iPhone 12 max. Used to love this app but now on new phone (iPhone 12 pro max) the app crashes most of the time. Hope they can fix cause now it’s unusable.

Doesn’t work with iPhone Pro max. Used to love this app but now it completely freezes. Doesn’t work at all. I hope you fix this ASAP for iPhone 12 pro max

Glitch. Good day this app use to be a great app until few month ago once you try open a picture it will spin and develop automatically and never stop spinning so I deleted the app and reinstall it NOPE didn’t work, any developers working on this issue or it a RIP app

Broken. Unusable. Used to be great but now it keeps on crashin. Usin iphone 15 pm

Freezing issue needs to be fixed for iPhone Pro max. Always frozen when trying to edit

RAW editor ruined this app, freezes every time. Every time you open a RAW photo it freezes up

Keeps crashing. It’s a nice app but it keeps crashing about every third picture I open. Until this gets fixed, it is disappointing and frustrating to use.

Crash. Keeps crashing using iphone 12 pro max

Almost good. Why can’t I save and export to iPad pics after finishing my editing? This sucks only 1 or 2 save.

an AMAZING app, but.... Snapseed is an amazing, free app produced by Google to manipulate and process graphics. however, there seem to be some glaring holes in the program that I believe should be addressed. It should be possible to encircle an object and copy it to the object being worked on. For example, I have a picture of my back garden. I would like to transposed a picture of my cat onto the garden. why is it not possible to open two iterations of a graphic and select a section of one graphic to paste onto the other? My late 90s PaintShop Pro version 4 can do that. also the text handling capabilities are extremely limited as per the number and type of fonts that can be used. Surely there could be a tool to insert text into a defined space rather than doing it line by line and having to size the text line by line. Thanks for listening and keep up the good work with the program! James

This app deserves 5 stars. Love this app, been my go to for years. Unbelievable that it is free. Seems the low ratings are coming from iPhone users, I suppose there is a bug. If you’re on iPad Pro, it works flawlessly.

Too bad this app no longer functions properly. This used to be my goto app on the iPhone but now it no longer works right, it’s constantly freezing or slowed down so much that it has become unusable on the newer iPhones. Really too bad.

Love it. I love this app it’s the best app ever

Absolutely Unusable on iOS14. This was a awesome app prior to iOS14. On my iPhone 12 Pro Max, using any Tools freezes and crashes the app. We are now at iOS14.7 and the app is still not fixed. Really sad outcome for a great app, but expectations are usually low with Google.

Bogue. J’aime bien l’application mais elle bogue toujours!! :(

My favourite photo editing app. This app keeps getting better and better! I edit many of my photos with it. It's got lots of great features that are quick to use and easy to learn. Highly recommend!

No AI at all. This app used to be awesome. Now in the era of AI, Snapseed has changed nothing. Without AI, I don’t need it anymore. Goodbye!

Truely free app. Hey its free and it works pretty well

Please add Hue and Saturation. Hue and Saturation over different colours would be a great addition

App freeze when editing DNG file. I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max. This app freezes in general when editing DNG files. If I wait for a while, the app will work again. BUT, if the DNG file is in Portrait format (vertical), the app freezes as soon as the photo is opened. And in the middle of the screen it will say ‘develop’ because of the raw format, and the app will never come back alive again unless I restart the app and work on some photos in landscape (horizontal) format. Very strange bug…..

Unsupported DNG File Format. I have been a dedicated user of SnapSeed for several years and have found it to be an excellent tool for editing images. Throughout various iterations of iPhones that I have owned, SnapSeed consistently performed admirably in handling RAW image editing. However, since upgrading to the iPhone 14 Pro last year and now to the iPhone 15 Pro Max this year, I have encountered a significant issue. Despite SnapSeed purportedly supporting Apple's RAW format (DNG), attempts to edit or even load RAW images taken with these devices have proven unsuccessful. Upon selecting an image, the app fails to load and instead displays a persistent spinning loading symbol. This issue has severely hindered my workflow, rendering the app virtually unusable.

Disappointment. Saw comments from years ago about the same issue — the app is completely unusable and freezes on every click. I am thoroughly disappointed because this app used to be an essential on my older iPhone.

Permanent Advertising. Why is there a ad for another Google photo editing app while im comfortable using the one was using before Incredibly intrusive and stupid design

Can’t live without it!. I’ve used everyday for years. This app can save, redesign , fix flaws and prepare any photo there is. I use it with another photo app where you need to layer two or more photos to make one. I wouldn’t be able to accomplish so many amazing prints without it and once you take the time to learn all the easy functions it takes only a few minutes to make any photo from good to fantastic.

App Severely Needs an Update. The app now constantly freezes and randomly overexposes my photo when I didn't even start editing it. The bugs need to be fixed. Noticed when I came to look at reviews the last time they updated it was 8 months ago.... This used to be my go-to app to edit photos, it's a shame that the app has downgraded overtime.

AMAZING. I love love love this app, I’m a frequent Instagram user (@charis102 main w/ 1k+ following and @bybabycharis_ for makeup) and I can honestly say this is the BEST editing app I’ve ever used. I’ve gotten very good at editing with this app and the before/after comparison photos are insane! I love using this to edit my makeup photos as it is really hard to find an app that creates edits as precisely and beautifully as this one does. U WONT REGRET

Was great. Freezes on iPhone 12 Pro Max. It was such a brilliant free app and now appears to be abandonware. I made my art and photography students all get this app. Not anymore…

From Best to Worst. When this is a usable app, it was fantastic. Clearly google doesn’t seem to care about customer feedback of it’s own brand reputation as it hasn’t fixed the many bug issues. Go figure, one of the biggest tech companies having bug issues with a tech app is a poor reflection of this companies standards!

Freezing issues with portrait pictures. I love this App but it’s freezing when editing a picture taken in portrait mode. I searched website a lot of people are complaining this issue . It works fine with a landscaping picture. I am using it on a iPhone 12 Pro Max phone. I hope this can be solved asap so I can keeping using it

Almost Good. This app is great. Why can't you fix the issue with Snapseed over writing the image date with December 31, 2000. This has been an issue for well over a year on iOS for iPad. This is a basic item and should have been fixed well before the software was released to the public.

Toolbars partially obstructed. On the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the toolbars are partially obstructed at the top, which makes it difficult to operate them.

Bug in recent update. I’m using IPad Pro with latest update IOS 13.1.2. I’m not able to use the open from device option anymore. The image preview shows up but here is no open option to select. Also the Portrait tool is disappointing. Skin tone option shows an obvious circle around the face, usually on the neck, and if working with a monochrome (B&W) Image, it adds unwanted color to the face. I have to use the saturation (desaturate) tool to remove the color.

Apple iPhone RAW Files. The app seems to stall when trying load an Apple RAW file from a iPhone Pro max

APP FREEZES. App freezes when adjusting tool slider left to right. I am using iphone 12 pro max with iOS 17.1.1 Please fix.

Unable to open RAW format photos. Opening and editing a raw photo only works once, the first time you do it. Every time afterwards, there will be an infinite blue loading spinner over the photo which never disappears, making you force-close the app. If you’re lucky, trying this several times over will eventually open the photo for editing. One way around this is to delete and redownload the app from the App Store. Then, opening a RAW photo will work normally (again, only for the first photo you open…) This issue has persisted for over a year.

Don’t work. Since my iPhone 12 updated to the latest iOS it doesn’t work anymore. You think that google could get a grip on this issue. Was a great app, try and keep up google.

IOS Raw photo app crash. The app does well with normal photos but when i try to open raw photos, the app crashes.

Good so far!. This app is quite good, so far, and I am loving the professional look of the final product!

Soooo good!!!!. It’s so good! There are so many features, and it’s all for free. There are also no adds!!! I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS APP!

Snap seed. Why does the app keep freezing? This is an awesome app! Wish it would keep working

Laggy. New update made app and phone laggy and frozen.

HELP! I updated to iOS 13.1 and lost SNAPSEED. Please help! I use Snapseed to edit photos for my online business and when i updated to IOS 13.1this week SNAPSEED will no longer open my pictures. This is devastating for me. They said the iOS update comes with features to rival SNAPSEED but that is utter nonsense - it doesn’t come close. Please tell me there is a solution to this!!!!!

Ruined. Freezes when you try to open a raw photo... It used to be a great app but now it's unusable.

Snapseed. Amazing app I highly recommend it

raw editing FAIL. i'm an iphone13 pro and have been a heavy user of snapseed for few years.. ever since the RAW editing feature was introduced to my phone / app .. i'm unable to open any photos to edit .. i've deleted / reinstalled.. numerous times and am completely current on all update. i've provided feedback and asked for help ... crickets

Love the app but gets stuck. I love this app and all the ways I can edit photos. It’s easy, effective and fun. My only complaint is sometimes the app gets stuck. I’ll add a photo I want to edit and the no matter which option I use, the app will freeze and I won’t be able to do anything on it. I’ve had this problem on three different phones including a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’ve tried deleting the app, reinstalling etc, I’ve tried updating my phone. Nothing. It’s very frustrating and makes me want to get a different app but I love the features in this one :-(

Wonderful app!. Very happy with this app. It’s fast, very easy to operate, and there are so many tools to take advantage of. I do not consider myself a professional photographer but I know a good picture when I see one and this app has helped immensely in making my amateur photos into something I’m very proud of. However, after processing many many photos through this app, I’ve found that after about a day, they revert back to the original and do not retain any of the filters or alterations I applied. Not sure why this is. If someone could offer some assistance, that would be great as I have spent much time touching up my photos and it was highly disappointing when all that work disappeared.

Snapseed Photo Editor. This app has so many options for editing your photos. Some phones have a portrait setting which makes your photos stand out more, but if your phone does not have this option, snapseed has a blur lense option which makes your objects in your photos stand out. It also has so many other amazing tools that I personally cannot find anywhere else. And the app is free. Which is a huge bonus. This has made so many of my Mobil photos look so much better, and as a photographer, I think it is an amazing app. I rate it 4.5 out of 5.

Snapseed USED to be my Go To. Just like the title says, Snapseed used to be my goto for editing RAW images and larger files. It just seems to not even want to play well with iOS anymore. For me to edit 1 RAW image, I have to uninstall the app and reinstall. Then, if I try to edit a second RAW image, I get an unending spinning circle. So back to the process of uninstalling and reinstalling. I can’t lie, this app is so user-friendly and powerful at the same time, but this makes me want to go back to my PC for a less nuanced, but incredibly more stable editing process. If the team behind Snapseed looked into this issue and fixed it. Immediately 5 Stars!!!! Sadly this app is nowhere near deserving cause of this issue.

Why won’t the program let me change export settings now?. I like the app and had been using it for a few years, but now I cannot get it to open up the export settings, to change from jpeg to the other format, or to change the file size. I have tried everything, even deleting and reinstalling the program. What gives here? I am using the mobile app on an iPad 5th generation, and this bug just came up a few weeks ago. I want to continue to use it, but unless I can change those settings, I will not be able to do so.

So sad!. This used to be my all time favorite app and I was using it daily! I purchased the new I phone 12 pro max a few days ago and the new iOS was installed and updated. Now sadly Snapsead freezes up on me constantly and is pretty much useless now. I did some research and found this to be a common problem that many like me are experiencing. I’m a little surprised that the bugs have not been fixed as it seems this has been going on for a while now. Maybe it’s the new camera? Maybe the new iOS? But certain tools like portrait, healing do not work at all and just freezes the phone. I’m now using VSCO. It’s free and no issues there, but would love to have Snapseed fix theses issues!!!

The best photo editing app!. First I’d like to say is that this is my favorite app for editing pics. I have been using this app for many years. Recently I tried editing a photo and started off with cropping it (which I never do bc I usually crop it on my phone before using the app). When I cropped the photo in the phone and then try to edit it caused the app to freeze and my iPhone to freeze. If you are experiencing this then try cropping the photo before using the app and then edit. For this reason I dropped one star. Once this is fixed I will give this app 5 stars!

Probably best editing app for mobile!. This is an app that you simply download and keep. I have had so much success with this app that I haven't ever thought or even tried searching for another to replace it. It does everything it advertises so well and rarely crashes. I only ask that in a future update we can receive a shortcut to access the app straight from camera roll. A very simple addition would be very appreciated. Sometimes I'll scroll through my photos and decide to edit, so the shortcut would be dope. Give this app a try! It's free with no add-on purchases, unlike many other apps.

Again Apple ruins a perfect app!. This is a magnificent photo editing app, very powerful and intuitive, with lots of features and real working filters and on top of all, completely free! No bothersome “in app purchases” but, as it is to be expected the brainless geniuses at Apple don’t give it full support, forcing you to import your photographs directly from your iPhoto libraries, rendering the whole “files” fiasco useless. It is truly amazing that a thousand dollar tablet can’t implement a simple file management app to let you use any directory or external device confidently and reliably.

One small problem. I’ve had this problem ever since getting iCloud storage, so maybe it isn’t a problem with the app itself. Somehow it isn’t communicating with the cloud so everyday after I spend hours editing my photos, they get updated by the iCloud library and they turn back to the original! This is getting to be ridiculous! I came up with the solution of emailing them to myself or uploading them into Dropbox, but honestly I feel like I shouldn’t have to do that! Ugh! This is so frustrating having to re-edit a bunch of pictures I just spent 2 hours on!

Hate the new look. Why do all you developers have to keep fixing what isn't broken???!!! I loved this app when I got it and had all the settings down pat. I also like the flow of where everything was. Now it's all different and I have to learn it all over again. I understand adding features but this looks like a completely different app. The white background is terrible. Black or dark grey would be so much better, you know like it used to be. It would also be helpful to be able to save a series of edits like your “last edit” option in Looks but be able to come back to those saved option later after editing a different set of options.

Catastrophically freezes iPhone 12 Pro Max. This has always been my favorite photo editing app. But today I used it and nearly bricked my phone. Phone acted bizarre and froze up, suddenly went into dark mode by itself, and froze completely. After restarting phone, phone was permanently stuck in dark mode. Would not switch back even though I selected the light mode. Even after multiple restarts. Forced to reset ALL my phone settings in order to undo the damage. Which of course meant losing my WiFi passwords, the cards in my apple wallet, and losing all my settings for using the phone, as well as losing my wallpaper. DO NOT USE THIS APP TILL SNAPSEED EXPLICITLY SAYS THEY HAVE FIXED THIS PROBLEM. Not worth the hassle of having your phone wrecked.

THIS APP SHOULD GET MORE HYPE!!!. It is developed by google so it’s obviously good. And, differently from other free apps, it saves HIGH RESOLUTION FOR FREE of all of the pictures, on the other apps, you have to pay for the HD photo!! Here are some functionalities poorly advertised by google on Snapseed: 1- HEALING: removes unwanted people from your photo. A lot of apps do that do but they don’t leave the pic full HD. 2- Head pose: you can automatically tilt your head a little to left or right, up ou down. Just a little but natural adjustment. 3- RULE OF TWO THIRDS - Snapseed lets you do it through perspective and through crop. It will take you 5 minutes to learn what it is and I PROMISEEEEE it makes tremendous difference in your pics. 4- Of course it also has all of those standard lighting functions too. That’s all that I use from it and I love it. Substitutes a lot of other ones without losing photo quality and doesn’t take much cell space bc it’s just 1 app.

Workaround! Very annoying though!. This is a great app and used to work perfectly fine, but now it doesn't work with a new iPhone 11 and 13.1 software version. The app opens but when you click to open the image it comes up with an error message ”Error loading image” and it crashes. Needs major update! It's not working at this time. Installed new update 13.1.1 but Snapseed is not working. The same error message comes up. You can open the image in Snapseed made by new iPhone 11 of you first open older image taken by older iPhone model and while this image is open Snapseed will be able to load your new image. This works only one time. You have to repeat all the steps for another new image to be loaded.

Works with 13.1 update, just delete and reinstall. I’ve had snapseed for the longest time, probably since my iPhone 5s or maybe even before then. The app has since expanded to just being able to make minimal adjustments to photos. I was even more happy when it expanded to brushes/healing. While the latest Apple had upped their game with the latest iOS update to the photo to editing capabilities, you still can’t batch edit like you can with Snapseed. I will stick with Snapseed just for the batch edit capabilities.

What happened?. What happened to my beloved Snapseed. I’ve been a loyal customer since the day, we had to pay to get this app. But recently the app freezes up on me. I’m able to open the photo and click on tools, no problem. But when I try to select an option under the main menu for editing, it gets hung up and freezes. I’ve updated the app, I have the latest iOS, and I restarted my phone to no avail. I cannot even find a way to contact the developer. Google, what have you done to this app? The developer website takes me to a dnserrorassist page like it doesn’t exist. I’d think it wasn’t being supported anymore if I didn’t see the update yesterday. I’m so disappointed as this has been my go to for years.

What happened?. Honestly what happened? I've been using this application for more than eight years now and I've never had any issues with it. Then lo and behold the latest update is now completely rendered the application unusable. Now whenever I try to edit a photo it freezes on any of the tools within the application. I have attempted to reboot my phone at the same time delete it and reinstall the application more times than I would like to Internet. It's completely unusable, I can navigate other controls in the application, it freezes up all the time, and it's very frustrating that now I cannot use it. Please keep in mind I have the latest iOS version running on a brand new iPhone 12 promax. Please fix🙏.

Amazing!. I’m a casual photographer and this app gets the job done 90% of the time when I edit my photos and don’t wanna hop on Lightroom and Photoshop. I definitely recommend it! I would give it 4 stars because it’s not 100% reliable and some features are missing compared to paid photo editing apps, but that’s the thing: this app is free, so I can’t be too picky. (I haven’t updated to the latest version, so I don’t get the new freeze glitch that others are experiencing.)

RAW Compatibility UPDATE NEEDED. RAW support for cameras that are 2 years old needs to be added. Sony has multiple new generations of cameras that have been out for more than a year that are not supported per the Snapseed site. Please add asap. Previous feedback still applies: ____________________ Snapseed is a great app for editing photos, but the picker interface could use some serious improvement. Limiting users to scrolling through images rather than seeing a grid of image from the photo library or camera roll is limiting to say the least. If a user wants to edit a photo taken 400 photos ago, then there is quite a lot of swiping that needs to be done in the current interface design. Next, knowing what photos have been edited after stepping away from the app or when editing multiple photos is not easy either. It would be a huge improvement if in the photo picker there was some icon or symbol in one of the corners of the preview that indicated that it had been edited. Please improve these things and the app will be even better than it is now.

Love this app!. Looks like this latest update fixed the compatibility issues with the iPhone 11 Pro and iOS 13! Thanks guys! Only thing I noticed was that the description of what the latest software update changes in the app doesn’t appear to have been modified to properly reflect those changes (looks like last year’s description). More specifically, it still references last year’s Apple iPhone and iPad model updates and last year’s iOS software (12, rather than 13). Just thought I’d let the devs know!

Great App But Needed Some Features. It has been over a year since the last update. Please don’t abandon this app, I know you guys make no money from it but it is such a great photo editing tool for many people. Also please add warp tool and fixed the double exposure (resize the layer on double exposure has it limitation. Sometime I have want to make the over layer image extra small but the app doesn’t allowed me to do that. It stop the down sizing at certain size. So please make it unlimited resize on double exposure feature).

User friendly...but what happened to the watermark?. I use this app a lot to upload pics to my website for fine tuning. My only complaint is the watermark I’ve been using has changed and formatted differently. It use to be 3 lines which was perfect when it came to placement on the pic but now it’s all in 1 line which stretches across the pic and in return you have to make it smaller which makes it a little hard to read. The one I used a lot is the one with 3 hearts. I would love to see it go back to where I can use 3 lines. Looks more professional.

My essential editing app. This is the app I start with every single time I edit a photo (and it’s often the only app I use). The range of options is amazing, yet they’re all very easy to use. The ability to go back through your edits and tweak them is a great feature, as is the ability to save an editable version of your work in case you change your mind later. I also appreciate that it’s not full of offers to buy add-ons; I hate that in other apps. For all-around photo editing, this is a must-have.

Google Owns It. It’s Probably Dead. Updated: Google owns this app so, as per their usual behavior, Google will probably cease development and abandon Snapseed at some point. I like the app and wish they’d continue to update it on a regular basis, but I think it’s time to realize Google has probably lost interest in it and move on. It is already falling behind on features and bug fixes. —————- This is a great photo editing app, but it’s missing a few things. 1.) Noise Reduction. When you bring in RAW files, you need some kind of Noise Reduction. Even ISO 100 shots might have some color noise. I know you can pull Structure down to -50 or -100 to reduce noise, but that’s mostly luminance noise. We need native color noise reduction. 2.) Support for more camera RAWs. Would love the have the Canon 80D supported and I’m sure others would like theirs as well. 3) More updates. Would love to see more interest from Google on continuing Snapseed development. 4) More image formats on Export. JPEG is very handy, but old. Support for TIF, HEIF, etc. would be great. Bottom-line: great app, but needs native Noise Reduction to kick it up a notch.

Great, Easier than PhotoShop and LightRoom but.... Love this program. I have PS and LR on my iPad and iPhone. But this is program is easier and more intuitive than either of those. It’s now my goto exposure adjustment. But.. I wish they would expand the brush capabilities. I wish I could selectively apply every effect with the brush tool. I wish I could apply color, paint and draw with the brush tool. I wish the brush too could be sized incrementally. And exposure should be in increments of .1 and we need a knife tool for mask selection for those of us with apple-pens. Hey Google offer all that and I’d be ready to PAAAAYYY.

LOVE this app… but it freezes. I have been us g this app for a couple of years now. I love it so much. Photo editing is such a passion and this app provides more than enough options. However, it has been freezing lately when I try to use an editing option… doesn’t matter what, but it will freeze and I have to force close. I tried deleting and re-downloading but it didn’t work. Anyone else have these troubles? Is there any update in our Snapseed future? Pretty please? I’m so sad that I can’t use this app anymore!!

Disappointing "Upgrade" to an Old favorite. Snapseed has long been my go to photo editing app. Sad to see it fall victim to the endless homogenizing of photo apps. There's a reason I used this app and not instagram to edit photos. It was far superior. Now it looks a lot like instagram, only worse! Disappointing, though sadly unsurprising. If I was downloading this app for the first time in its current version there'd be a 95% chance I'd delete it immediately based on the awful UI alone (which of course used to be a strength of this app). I suppose I'll give it a few more tries since I know it can still produce the edits I want, but if it continues to take twice as long to get the same results I'll be looking elsewhere very soon.

Love This App! Only 1 Thing I’d Change. I love this app! I use it on all my Instagram photos. I would definitely give it 5 Stars if I could save my edits as filters!! This would be the dopest feature ever. For example, it allows you to use your “Last Edit” on other photos; I love this feature. Only problem is if on my next photo it needs to be edited different my “Last Edit” changes and there is no way to save it as a custom filter (that I know of). Let us save like at least 3-5 custom filters that we can use over and over. You would kill the game!

Very disappointed. This has been one of my all time favorite apps to edit photos. I have not found another that can replace all the great editing tools and filters. I normally have to bounce around between multiple apps to accomplish even close to half of what this app can allow me to do for free. But over the last year when I start to edit it freezes my whole phone. Even before editing sometimes and if I have started it freezes and then deletes the whole thing when it unfreezes. It feels like I’m editing on a virus filled laptop from my dads corn addiction in 2010. I need this fixed so bad ☹️

Great App but needs to open from other Drives. Love the app, super simple to use and turn a good photo into a great photo. My only gripe is that I can only open photos from the camera roll. I would like to be able to open photos from Google Photos, Dropbox, One Drive, Create Drive (Adobe) etc so I don’t have to move things around so much. Also, it would be nice to be able to save the Snapseed result to another directory for modified work and jpg’s for sharing to another directory just for sharing. Prevents confusion as to the original, mod and share output. This is the workflow I have used for years on the PC and would greatly help organization. One other request though not IOS related: Make Snapseed available for Windows using Chrome Extension. Thanks for listening. Original: Haven’t really been able to thoroughly test as yet because the first time using it crashed and hung my iPad Pro running latest version of IOS. Have seen other people’s work with Snapseed and it’s impressive, but crashing/hanging doesn’t fly.

Great editing tools, not great functioning ability. I’ve used Snapseed for a few years and love the editing tools available. However the past several weeks when I’m editing photos the app freezes and therefore I cannot save my edited photo. Additionally it used to save in chronological order as a copy right next to my original photo in my camera roll whereas now it saves it to the end which makes it much harder for me to keep my camera roll organized. Not sure why this is happening but I wish it worked like it used to work. 😐

Frustrating. I’ve had this app for a while now and use it to edit most of my photo shoots. This year it has been a horrible time using it. It constantly freezes, I can’t use the edit image function or anything else without having to constantly force close the app or wait a million years for it to do the command. It has become increasingly frustrating and difficult to use, hasn’t been updated or debugged in almost a year, and I feel like my time and energy would be better spent with a different app. If you’re an editor with important photo work to clean up I would definitely have a backup app or just choose something different to use.

Fantastic Photo Editor... with a few bugs. I’ve used this app for nearly four years and love how powerful it is for such a small app. Lots of options for tweaking and corrections photos to bring out the best in them. My only caveat is in regards to the healing option. It tends to appear as a clean image in the editor but upon exporting will insert other elements around the photo from where the healing was attempted. This usually results in my simply having to screenshot the picture from within the app in order to obtain the image I want. If that was fixed, this would hands down be the best photo app on the market

I will raise this rating AT LEAST 1-2 stars when.... I can open a raw iPhone image on the first attempt, every time I try, without having to delete the app/reinstall Snapseed first. It used to take 1-8 attempts to open a raw image. Now (with the most recent 2 updates) I can only get any raw image to open exactly one time after deleting/re-installing, and every subsequent attempt to load a raw image leads to the app freezing on the loading spinner. The app is great. Not being able to use it more than once per install makes it completely useless. FOR DEVS: not positive, but this hanging behavior seems to correspond with raw images where Apple has applied HDR processing to the file?

Save threshold. I’ve been using this app for a while but I’ve noticed that there’s a problem being that when you start saving a lot of changes or make a lot, when trying to edit the photo more and save, the program crashes after loading all the edits when trying to save the new edit. Please try fixing this problem, as it has been present for about more than a year. I have noticed that it cannot save a lot of edits using the curve tool, please fix.

What happened?. Used to be great, but doesn’t work at all now. Even if I get past the uploading image section which freezes for a good few minutes, it crashes if I try to make any edits to the photo at all. I thought maybe I needed to update the app, but I haven’t been able to use it for almost a year now, it’s up to date, been deleted and reinstalled multiple times to no resolve, and I’ve also tried using it on another device so it’s not an issue on my phones end. Seems I’m not the only one with these problems. Really hope they’ll fix it someday because it used to my go to for quick fixes if I didn’t want to go to the hassle of full post work in a desktop, I loved that it supported RAW files too. It’s been unusable for so long though I’m not sure they plan on it

One Star for Now. I have been using this app since it first launched. I have loved it until recently. Towards the end of summer 2023 the app started freezing. I would upload a photo and only the presets would work. I couldn’t use the features without the app freezing. This wasn’t all the time, but randomly. Over the next few months it has gotten worse in regards to freezing. Will there be any updating to fix this issue or are we seeing the end this app? Im assuming there will not be any updates any longer as I now have been getting an update notification to “try Google Photos” instead of continuing with Snapseed. Does this mean I now have to purchase Google Photos?

Good but missing some key features. I’ve been looking for something that can replace my adobe Lightroom app because that app blurs my photos temporarily as I’m editing, so I can’t see what I’m doing in real time as I move the sliders around. Snapseed does not have this problem, thankfully. I can move the sliders around all I want and the photos remain sharp the entire time. Unfortunately I cannot convert completely due to the lack of an H/S/L or equivalent module. I like to color grade all of my photos and not having the freedom to adjust each color individually means I will continue to use Lightroom for now.

Saying F this app... for now.. Dear Google, by not updating your app for iOS 13 tells me a few things: most important is that you have zero interest in fostering loyalty to your customers. By not putting out an update in a reasonable amount of time is basically telling me to move on to another photo editing app. This is disappointing because up until recently this was my go-to editing app, and I certainly wasn’t quiet when it came to recommending this to friends, family, etc. I throughly loved what I could do when it came to editing Raw photos, now the app crashes and I am left looking elsewhere. Sadly I’m sure I write this for my own benefit as I can’t imagine anyone at Google is reading this. Here’s hoping you guys update. Thanks.

Love it!!. For a free app i absolutely love it!! It has many options to choose from to make your pictures look professional. However, for inexperienced photographers, like myself, some tinkering around the app would be required before fully experiencing it, as it is a tiny bit overwhelming. I have no complaints about this app. I feel that this app does just about the same as if you would get from a paid software. I have been using snapseed for a few years now and will always be my go to app for touch ups.

Great app...just one thing. I’ve recently downloaded Snapseed and its a fantastic app. Really great and versatile. Problem is, with my iPhone XS Max, the sliding control used to adjust tools appears so far near the top of my screen that it really isn’t all that user friendly. Swiping so high up can drop down menus and such, which then cover the photo I’m editing. Happens a lot. I’ve already tried replacing the tempered glass protector because that really interfered with the swipe. The new one is as high up as I can get it. I’m thinking I may have to ditch my phone cover (otter box), but I spend too much time outdoors to not have a good protective case. Please tell me this is a fix you’ll be making?

Where did the edits go?. I had been using Snapseed as my go to app for all my photo editing for almost 2 years now. I must have 8 or 9 photo editing apps but once I discovered Snapseed, I stuck with that. But now I am trying to figure out what to do. I spent about 2 hours editing a bunch of photos from my Yosemite trip, went over them one last time before bed, woke up and the edits had all disappeared! I did a google search to find out what had happened, explored the app extensively, deleted and reloaded the app and finally did all the edits again. Yup, they all disappeared and I have now wasted far too much time and am losing heart. I guess it is time to find another app unless someone has a suggestion of what to do! So bummed!

Used to the best, now useless. This biggest disappointment for this app no longer working at all (like other reviews say, it freezes and crashes immediately) is that it was far and away the best and easiest photo editing app out there. Apps like Adobe PS may do more but not nearly as quickly, easily, and intuitively as this app did. I could do detailed clean up of old photos making them look new and crisp in a matter of minutes. I could give photos professional quality edits easily without any hassle, making photos moody or more vibrant, subdued or chilling, in - well, a snap! Unfortunately the last few months the app hasn’t worked at all. I was hoping an update would resolve it. Alas, it’s the same. Heartbreaking, really. :/

Updated Review v2. Update: Snapseed has become my most used photo editing app. Love the interface and the subtle but powerful tools. What this app does I used to have separate apps for. Once you play around and get the hang of it, it will (probably) become the only app of this kind you will need. Recommended. Older: After using it more, I like this app more and more. And I'm pretty hesitant about free apps. It is full of features though, and doesn't bother you with ads or filter packs. It's better than many other photo editing apps I have used.

Went from 5 to 1. I absolutely loved this app. Was my go to for the last three years or so. But then I needed a new iPhone and went with the 12 pro max. The app does not work at all. I’ve researched blogs, tried uploading photos into different apps editing and then re uploading into Snapseed but still it will not respond, or crashes. That’s if I’m lucky and do not need to delete the app altogether and re upload. Frustrating to say the least, but more heartbroken than anything else as the tools in this app are awesome and one just doesn’t get the same experience with any other app out there. Believe me, I have them all or have at least tried them all. I’m hoping this will be fixed as I’m stranded with no foreseeable wind in my sails. Help!

Amazing. I usually don’t write feed back for apps but this app is by far my most used editing app for my photos. Snapseed isn’t like your handful of other editing apps where you have to pay for certain tools and filters everything on this app is accessible and free. When using this app you aren’t limited to any tools you may want/ need. The app is very complex covering so many useful tools and editing options for users but is very simple and easy to use turning out extremely effective.

Training for Pro Apps. This app is absolutely amazing. It’s a very thorough and robust editing app that will prepare you for using something more substantial like Affinity Photo, or Light Room. You may not even need those apps due to how robust this one is. This app is very intuitive & well organized. I originally purchased affinity photo as my main editing app, but was instantly overwhelmed by the pro level tools and utterly rubbish menu setup. This app helped me find my bearings and know what things could/should look like when editing.

Used to be my favorite app. Now it’s just FROZEN for the last several months ever since I got the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It still works well with rare freezes on my old iPhone 11 which I keep just to edit photos and it is incredibly frustrating as this was my go to app for several years. I see there was an update 6 days ago that pretended to address this with cryptic unrealistic instructions on how to take your photos in specific modes to avoid this but the whole point is I want to be able to edit any photo and ones I’ve taken in the past. I got this phone in like august and the fact that it is now December and no change has been made is very disappointing. Don’t bother with this app if you have an iPhone 12 or later unless there has been a real update

Edited versions disappeared from photo album after deleting the photos in SnapSeed album. Love the SnapSeed app, but since Friday, I am unable to save my edited photos, takin w/iPhone, but transferred via Cloud to my iPad! What happened? Went to help and support, but no answer found. Photos much easier to edit on iPad, since images are larger. Now the save option is gone. When I tried the Export option, it says “photo can not be saved”! PLEASE fix this! I edit every photo I keep, so need this resolved ASAP! FYI, I have NOT yet installed the recent iPhone/IPad software update, so that didn’t cause it! HELP!!!!

Loved for YEARS, but Outdated & Buggy. Granted, I still use this app and probably have been since 2014 or so (I can’t remember, it’s been so long and I could probably count on one hand when I’ve used a different app). But I’ve become terribly disappointed at how much it now lags and it’s a coin toss if I’ll be able to edit a photo normally (or be stuck turning my phone horizontally just to get edit features to load/work). I truly have loved this app and all it’s features, but I’m afraid I’ll be looking for a new one soon if it’s glitches don’t improve. Please don’t let this app die! Make some serious updates so basic features work *every* time and not *some* times :’(
