Lovely. Tight controls

Thought I was getting something else.. This is a fun little game, but I thought it would be a story-driven sequel to "Space Miner: Space Ore Bust". That was severely disappointing. But if you buy it knowing that it's just a simple asteroid shooter, it's pretty fun.

I really liked the original game and this is a great adaptation based on the old arcade classic.. This is a great game, and I strongly recommend paying for the full upgrade package. It's cheep and makes the game more fun. The only thing I would really like to see is the addition of lives instead of shields as an option. It would be fun to play either way.

Big time repeat player. Really fun, great power ups. Very satisfying destruction and the control is solid.

Poor. Few things need to be fixed to be an OK game.. -optimize for Retina iPhone 5 screen size -controls are laggy after 10 minutes of play. You press the screen and it won't respond. Fix these and you have a 5.

Good. Game

Venan gold.. Money used towards this dev's games is always well spent. This takes the mining bits from SM and blows it out to fantastic proportions. Combos, power-ups, enemies, deadly reflectors, exploding asteroids, and mines are just some of the obstacles you'll have to overcome. RPG-lite elements let you change and develop tactics as levels progress. Music and audio design help solidify the nonstop blasting action. I'd love an "Asteroids" homage mode with pulled back camera and teleport edges, but it's no biggie. SMB is a great action game that will keep you blasting with multiple ships to pilot, tons of enemies, and a fantastic gameplay system. Quality rarely paralleled on iOS shines throughout. The recently released garbage, "Asteroids Gunner," only makes this title shine brighter.

Love it!!. So much fun play for hours and replay for hour. Where is space miner II. It's been months. Uncle Ben back again cant wait for part 2.

Great fun. As good as Space Miner. Love it. Loved space miner as much. Would love to see update to Space Miner getting more map sections too!

Good Design, Poor Control. The design for this game is amazing. Combo system, power ups, stages, level, everything works together pretty well. Could be improved on a bit with more customization or varied levels, but I'll cut it some slack because it was just released. What I can NOT stand are the controls. It's possible that it's just my device, which I doubt, but the controls are horrendous. If you move your thumb outside of a square area where the control pad is displayed, your ship no longer responds. Other games allow you to venture out as far as you want from the control stick - not Space Miner Blast. Unless I'm mistaken, even the original game had this feature. A very disappointing oversight. I also had a few problems with the thrust being activated when i was clearly pressing only the fire button. Thankfully the autofire remedied this overall, but was still a very frustrating experience. In short: Fix the controls and you've got a real gem. Add some more features and you've got a gem that's worth every penny of it's IAPs.

So much fun!. Bought this game and have not stopped playing it.

Major miner. I've played several games of this type, and this is one of the best. My only problem is that it crashes now and then on my iPad.

An arcade-y experience. This is fun, the asteroids-blasting parts of Space Miner, amped up. It feels like an arcade game- choose a ship, earn upgrades as you progress thru waves til you eventually die. I would have liked to see a few different game types, including a mode that starts you at a higher wave rather than you having to battle up from wave 1 every time. (Game has been stable for me.)

Great little game. Super fun, hitting all the high notes of getting upgrades, challenge, and visuals.

Ruined by gamerclub. Since becoming part of gamerclub this game harasses you with gamerclub ads. No way to disable.

Asteroid-Like. Very much like asteroids, my favorite game growing up! Plays well, 'specially since I discovered autofire, lol!

Pretty fun for what it is. It's unfair to compare this to the Space Ore Miner role-playing game. But it's pretty fun for awhile. Think of it as Asteroids with much more substance.

Quickly becomes boring. Fun at first, but quickly becomes monotonous, and way too difficult to play for a long run without relying on luck. You can only recharge shields between completed levels provided you have upgrade slots left, meaning the game soon becomes impossible because the slots by level 30 fill up leaving you with time as the only way to recharge shields. It would be much more fun to at have the shields auto-recharge by at least 50% after each successful wave, and to perhaps have challenge waves where completion gets you a full recharge. Also, power-up drops are really inconsistent from game to game. One game can be nothing but power-ups, allowing you to survive to a high level (wave 50+), and in another you'll get virtually nothing, and die by wave 25. That makes the luck factor too great relative to skill. Finally, a radar indicator for asteroids, enemies, and bonuses would be super helpful. Playable, but not worth the 1.99 you end up paying for the better ships.

It's a blast! (no pun intended). Classic gameplay, sharp graphics and cool music, plus you can play your own music to the game! Just have music playing before you start! I highly recommend this game to any Asteroids fan!

Needs a little more explaination. I enjoyed this game but would like more details around the options and mine fields. Some bombs seem helpful at some times. Later the same actions produce bad not good outcomes. More details would help play the game more effectively.

Instant iPhone classic!. I'm a huge fan of the original Space Miner, but I've always felt that it was missing something- an arcade mode. To be perfectly honest, sometimes I just want to blast rocks- I don't always care about the story, saving up money, exploring new sections, or any of the 'fluff' and when I have five minutes to play a quick game I don't want to spent three just clicking past dialogue. Space Miner Blast fills in that missing feature perfectly. As the little graphic above says, it is Asteroids for the 21st Century- the same simple fun, but with an edge the keeps it fresh and me playing. Even without any of the extra ships or and paid content this game is fantastic, although I honestly would have paid $2 for an extra trophy or something stupid just to support this amazing team. Now they just need to come out with an iPad game . . .

Very Impressed So Far. The game handles and looks great but the only few things that could be improved upon are how you'll start a higher level with an asteroid hurtling right toward you which ends up setting of a chain of smacking into every single asteroid and ship around the immediate area, Perhaps Set a clear starting area so you can gather your bearings. Also gotta lower the amount of items and add different ones which will really help keep the gamer interested. It might also help decreasing the accuracy of the UFO's just a smidge, if only because movement needs to be careful at higher levels and right now those UFOs are champion marksmen. Further, labeling the main page so we know what the buttons are for and explain the difference in ores/add some new ones. This game has amazing potential as of now and I hope you can make this into a top notch game as it progresses.

Fun time waster. Loved Space Miner -- it's the only iOS game I've gone back to after beating it. Blast is a great throwback arcade game that tides me over while waiting for Space Miner 2. The in-app purchase was a little buggy though.

Oarsome. I love the combo based frantic action! I loved the original story based game and this compliments it perfectly

When I stared. When I started I had no idea what I was supose to do then I got the hang of it and it was awesome.

Could be better. Loved the first and while this is a decent distraction while waiting for the sequel I'm only giving it 3 stars due to the controls. I'm finding it a lot more sensitive on the control wheel and it's quite frustrating that it doesn't seem to play as well as the first. Fix the controls and I'll up the rating. Can't wait for the sequel.

Astroids Clone. Just another clone of Atari's Astroids. Nice and polished but nothing spectacular. Game play is a little faster paced than that of it's predecessor. Controls are touchy but well suited for the speed of the action. It's worth The dollar and will keep you busy for a while. Replay ability is infinite.

JUST KEEPS ON CRASHING =(. Usually LOVE this game but now it ALWAYS crashes 1-5mins after loading. Have tried reloading, reinstalling, shutting down all other running apps, etc. etc. but it still quits mid-game, without fail (on my fully up to date iPhone4). Been driving me insane cos despite the mountain of other iPhone games I have, I've been hanging to play this! Venan are prob working hard on the Spaceminer sequel, but they should really still fix this up first. The game may be free but some ppl (like me) have purchased the IAPs. Please Venan, a fix... please please please... I'd usually rate 5 stars but since game crashes every time it's utterly unplayable. And unplayable games really deserve less than 1 star. In short, don't even bother until a fix has been released.

Great!!!. A excellent remake of the old asteroids game.

A great spinoff. While it's hard to top the original Space Miner's hilarious dialogue and charm, this arcade-style spinoff is very accomplished in its own right. Once you learn the basic 'do's and 'don't's, this is one fiercely addictive game. Definitely worth your $0.

Lots of fun. It's not as deep or good as the original space miner but it does incorporate the fantastic gameplay. Hopefully they'll do a full sequel at some point but until than this will do...

Great sequel! Fast nonstop action.. I need to start by saying I am a Rabid Space miner Ore Bust fan. Space Miner Blast is fast, furious and fun. I played once and it was enough to convince me to pay for all the premium content. $1.99 total. Space Miner Blast itself is a heavily updated asteroids style game. The graphics are sharp. The controls are simple. Space Miner Blast is full of arcade style fury.

Junk.. A cheap money-grab riding the coat-tails of an awesome initial game. I loved the original, but wasted money on this one. I played it once and that's it.

So let me get this straight.... After buying this game, you get ads and lots of iap? For a suped up asteroids? Seriously?

Great game without the fluff. Really enjoyed this game. It is space miner minus most of the rpg elements. The controls are pretty good. This is asteroids on crack. Looking forward to updates. Please add perks! I am giving this 5 stars because I know the dev will continue to put good updates in.

NICE but NOT FREE. Great looking game. Good quality but it its not free and add filled. If the game was free and no add it would have been great.

Fun and addictive but repetitive. Cool but probably limited replay after you establish a decent high score.

What gives?. All the action of Space Miner with none of the humour, campiness and other nice touches that made the game worth playing.

Controls Need to be Fixed. The controls are the biggest issue with this game. The fire / thrust buttons need to be moved farther apart. When firing, I'm often thrusting at the same time. In my opinion, this games controls should mimic the original game's controls.

Simply the Best!. One of the few games i came back over and over to play regular. Great playability and motivation combined with nice graphics and easy to follow storyline. Thumbs up to Devs.

Two Thumbs Up. Great game. I never played any other games made by this developer so I have nothing else to compare it to. But overall I love it!

control issues. I'll second the control issues people have been bringing up. They tend to get me killed often in this game. Either the wheel becomes completely unresponsive or my thumb moves up a bit while holding the fire button which triggers the thrusters until you lift your thumb up. To make sure I wasn't crazy, I fired up the original Space Miner. The controls are MUCH better in that game. Why would you alter the control scheme of it was fine before?

Fun!. This is a great time waster. Shoot stuff, blow stuff up, collect what's left behind and get points. And the upgrade pack is a good addition.

Almost tricked into paying. Wow. This app fails. It lead me to almost purchase a ship with actual money. The only thing that stopped me from doing it, was my iTunes password prompt. There was no price on the ship or anything. Ridiculous. If I had recently purchased something, the password prompt wouldn't have come up and I'd purchased it. Shady game. Thumbs down.

Enjoyed mine ore bust far more, this is ok... The control wheel needs work though- I've gotten smoked on more than one occasion due to the lack of response. The fact you die and lose all your power-ups is a bit of a letdown, and charging you for everything additionally and using ads is a bit shady, but it is fun while you are playing, winning, and the control wheel works. Give us a mine ore bust 2! :-)

Exactly what it says on the tin. It's a stripped down, arcade-only version of Space Miner. Plenty of fun, and cheap too, though I miss the crazy Hijinx of the original.

Average. Paid the 2 bucks for the upgrade but still get scrolling ads. Low replayability. A letdown after Ore Miner. Otherwise it is just an average space shooter game.

Awesome!. Good game play, graphics and sound. I purchased the entire pack for $1.99, just to have all the ships. The only improvement that I would like to see is an optional virtual joystick rather than the paddle only approach. Some times it's hard to get the right orientation with it and manage thrusters at the sane time for velocity and direction. Otherwise great work!

Jerks. Five stars just to counter the jerks who complained about charging for retina display graphics. The game is *free* and those graphics effectively cost $.99 with a benefit. If you like the game that's a very reasonable price. Get a job or do some chores.

Really diggin' it.... I love the original, and have probably played it more than any other iPhone game (and still do), but there are times when it's nice to just blast stuff for a while, and not have a storyline to follow. This app fits the bill nicely. 2 bucks for a fun game with all the extra ships? It's a steal!

. No crashes in first five games on iPhone 4(basic ship, standard graphics). Multi-tasking works great too. Maybe the others have jail-broken devices. More intense than SM:OoB. I'm addicted! Simple premise: shoot asteroids, upgrade your ship, don't die.

Eh.. For what this game is trying to do, it's good-- it doesn't entirely blow me away, but it accomplishes what it sets out to do. It's a pure, arcade experience with light RPG growth elements, and that's all it is. Honestly, I'd much rather there be an episodic release for another game with a narrative than have this.

Great free app. Simplified version of space miner. Good aesthetics, high replay value. Everything you want from a free casual game.

Space miner. Awesome game. You just can't stop playing it, once you start.

Missing price for in app purchases. Great presentation and it's great that it's free-mium, but you lost me at ship purchase. I had no idea what they cost and had to go to the app store to see. I was unable to find the pack that buys all at a discount, hidden, or I am blind, or both.

Crashing. I love(d) this game. Was fun, addictive, and working beautifully until a few weeks ago when it would keep crashing. Problem won't go away and finally decided to remove the game.

Lots of fun. Great-looking game, lots of fun to play on my train commute, and an excellently-paced experience. Doesn't feel slow at all even when I die on a high wave and have to start all over again. Definitely looking forward to SM:OOB's sequel!

Free crashes. I bought the ships and am hoping the crashing goes away. I'll drop to 2 stars if it dies. It still crashes often even with full purchase. I turned off my wifi and played awhile. Wave 16 I think without a freeze. It was feeding every other level or so. I think it must have something to do with storing your high score. When I'm off line it works. Fine.

Great game. I love this game, and the purchased ships are way better than the ship it comes with. This game is addictive.

Good Classic Remake. Nice graphics and great gameplay on this one. My only hangup is the lack of innovation at the later levels. Instead of being challenging it just gets sort of impossible towards the end. Overall very addicting and fun!

Sad Sad Sad. I LOVE the space miner game. The new graphics in this game look nice (when it runs). It crashes intermittently. Has issues booting. Very Buggy. Unacceptable. The Microsoft model of product release does not work. (creating something people like, then releasing crap because you know people like you.)

Ore or busy with out the drama. Fast pace and slick graphics, good job! Maybe offer DLC for user custom made ships, and move the bomb button to the left a tad so it doesnt get accidentally pressed!

Great game liked the offline original. Fun just like the old one except with waves which brings a new twist to the game

Would have been 5 stars. I love this game. It is so addictive. However, it has recently started randomly crashing which is extremely annoying. I almost knocked it down to 3 stars because of the crash.

Great.. Fun game, nice graphics, definitely worth playing. The blast pack is definitely worth it too, all the ships, no ads, and retina graphics make it just about perfect. Can't wait for Space Miner 2 now!

Update!!. This game looks AMAZING on retina!! I just wish there were a few more ships to choose from!  Oh and I would gladly pay you Tuesday for an in-app purchase today! 

Pretty Good. This is a straight-up "Asteroids" style arcade shooter. If that's what you're looking for, this is great. They tell you as much in the description, so I'm not going to knock it for not being "Space Ore-Bust". I personally prefer the original, because I like the campaign, the selection of ships and upgrades. If your looking for something more involved, get the original. If you just want action, get this. They're both superb for what they are.

Don't waste your time. Downloaded, played for 5 min and then deleted. This game doesn't offer anything more the just shooting same things in the same boring way. Don't expect a stirrings or anything similar to the old Space Miner (which should be rated 5)

Great present to the fans. A great pick up game. Releases stress and is well balanced. ALSO this is not one of those "free" games where it's only fun if you pay for the upgrades. Thus is fun immediately. Could use diff difficulty settings though for more advanced players. All in all great game!
