Please fix. Fixed most of the game but the thumb wheels/fire button are completely off the screen and can't touch

Classic comes back. A classic iOS game, back with upgraded graphics. Still fun to play. Hands down one of the best iOS games ever made.

Still needs some adjustments. I couldn't get the last achievement for beating the game on ultracore because I couldn't beat the expansion on hardcore. Other than that i am waiting to see if there is a sequel to this GREAT GAME!!!

Amazing!. This is honestly one of my favorite iPhone games. The story is really funny and the ship upgrade process is really balanced. I can't believe it got an update after all these years. I'm excited to play the game again.

Amazing Game, Great Nostalgia. I played this game for the first time many years ago, during what you make call the “Do you have any games on your phone?” phase. I might not have realized it back then, but I now see the amazing game that these guys created. Depending on how you count, I have played though this game 3 or 4 times at this point, and have enjoyed it every time. Despite its simple nature, (shoot asteroids, shoot robots, upgrade, repeat), this game is consistent fun and always calls me back. With the update to platinum edition, the amazing original had been improved even more, with greater length, proper scaling on larger screens, (at least the iPhone SE size), and more robust performance. The story, while simple, is well written and contains humorous characters that can lead to some genuinely entertaining and funny interactions. Simply put, despite its repetitive nature, this game is unending fun, well polished, and shows how developers can create and support truly great games without fancy graphics and constant advertisement. The best game on the App Store. Period.

Another unnecessary Subscription. I used to play this back in the iPad 1 days, albeit a pirated version. Now that I can finally purchase it, they completely removed the ability for a one time purchase, forcing you to subscribe to play. I hate subscriptions and I don’t want to pay $5 a month for a library of games I don’t care about, I just want this one game. Furthermore, $5 a month is a complete ripoff, especially since you can get Apple Arcade with actually new games for the same price. If I could permanently buy the game, I would give it 4.5 stars. It is the second best spaceship ARPG I’ve ever played, second only to Galaxy on Fire 2. The story is full of personality and charm, the game is brilliantly paced and the gameplay is simple yet engaging. This is a great introduction to this genre for new gamers.

Pay to play. So I just downloaded the game started playing and was “Not a bad game “ then when I try to go to level 2 it says pay $5 a month to access all levels and no adds. I don’t mind the adds but not letting you get past lv1 is bad only giving 1star cause I can’t give 0 stars

Perfect . Needs a sequel!. Playing through again. Best iOS game there is UPDATE. Bought this game years ago and I'm playing through it again. Idk why this game is so great. Wish there was a sequel! Love it.  Had to wait until the price dropped to buy it but it was worth the wait . Played perfectly for 4 hrs on my 3gs. I really can't explain y I like it so much it's just addicting.

Wonderful game. I have ADHD and it's hard to calm down and focus on tasks. Completing sector by sector at my own pace is super relaxing and truly helps me. This game has great design, gameplay and progression. Love this game and I hope a sequel is made one day.

Great but. I played this game years ago and loved it. After seeing it again I decided to buy it because I love this game but, it crashes every time I boot it up

A rare gem. I bought this game 9 years ago. Worth every penny. One of the rare games where once I beat it I immediately started over to play through again. A perfect evolution of Asteroid gameplay.

Wish it worked on iPhone X.. This is a fantastic game I love to replay every year or do. This year I cannot since it crashes constantly on my iPhone X as well as iPad Pro. Fingers crossed I see an update soon.

Buyer beware - no longer supported?. I used to love this game. It stopped working two apple updates ago. I promptly filed a bug report to the developer and never got a response. It still crashes immediately on an iPhone X right after launch. The only thing I got back from the developer was an automated reply that my report was received. Buy their software at your own risk!

A classic. Man I remember playing this game growing up, it is nostalgia, there used to be a sequel too, similar to clash of clans building a base, it feels good to still see this old piece of my childhood still around

Still one of the best games out there. I usually don’t play too many games on my phone, but Space Miner is one of the best. I played it over a decade ago on my iPod Touch while in high school, and just found it again. Simple, but fun and the story is actually fun to follow, even after the third time.

No single purchase. It was a great game. Too bad you can’t just purchase it. Now you have to subscribe to play it. Not worth to pay monthly for.

This Game Rocks!!! (no pun intended). I have enjoyed playing this again! I honestly believe this game would have been well received back in the 80s. More than Asteroids, it provides the ability to modify your ship (even more than Blasteroids), and gives fun storyline to make more of the game than bob-and-weave through an asteroid field.

.30 update made a broken game. I absolutely love this game and come back to it every few months to play again, but the recent update(s) broke the game by only showing graphics in the lower left quadrant on my iPad 4th gen running iOS 14. The game is unplayable until this is fixed. I hope it eventually gets rectified, because this game is one of the all-time best in its genre and it would be a shame to be forgotten because of a bug issue.

So much fun. This game is hilarious and addictive. It’s got really great design and some clever dialog. I’ve had this game for years and have played through it three times because it’s fun to come back to after you’ve been away for a while.

Confused.... I purchased Space Miner when it was first released and it’s been installed on my iPhone ever since. I’ve gotten many hours of enjoyment out of this one, but now I’m totally confused. It seems like this game is now part of a subscription service? Does that mean if I update the game I won’t be able to play it without a monthly subscription? If that’s the case, I feel robbed since I’ve already paid for the game!

Cannot launch and can’t use on iPhone.. The app won’t launch for more than 10 seconds on my iPad and keeps crashing. When I attempted to download it on my iPhone, it wanted me to buy it again. Total scam game. When fixed I’ll change my review.

Good game if you like shoot 'em ups. Good pace of progression, decent tech tree to upgrade your ship, good controls and overall pretty fun to play

Was good. This was one of my all time fav games on my iPad. I just started playing again after finishing this game multiple times in the past years, but this time it’s thru Game Center. It’s just as fun as the first time, except that I lose all control of my spaceship about every minute or two. I have to pause the game, then resume to regain control. At times, I can’t even pause as the whole screen becomes unresponsive, so I have to swipe the game away, then come back to it. Needless to say, due to the frequency of this issue, it makes game play not enjoyable. Not to mention that when I’m in the middle of a battle, I often die because I lose control of my ship and can’t pause or swipe away fast enough to regain control. Please fix this!

Using iOS 11.3 seems broken. Keeps crashing when I open the app. I hope this is just a temporary problem since I loved this game a few years ago.

Really very fun! Give it a try. You won’t be sorry.. I skipped this game a number of times in my search for good space games. Thought it might be to arcade style, and a kids game until I decided to give it a look. This little gem is easy to figure out. The developers use a lot of humor as your crazy uncle sends you out on various missions and to destroy space robots. And mine lots of ore to make money to save the family business. Mining isn’t tedious like most space games, plus this game has Lots of different missions from different sources other than mining. Controls are perfect, and the game is much deeper than it appears. All that money you make from mining actually can be used to upgrade your old clunker ship into something powerful, and new. Give it a try!

Can’t play unless you pay monthly. In today’s world; paying a monthly fee ($5.00) to play a very simple spaceship shooter game is just silly. For a couple dollars more you can get Disney Channel…. Removed from phone after 3 minutes because you can’t play unless you subscribe.

Good, but ruined by cheap GameClub wrapper.. It’s a shame this great game was ruined by a crappy game club wrapper. No one wants your weird social group. Whoever convinced you this was a good idea is a moron.

Years of fun. This is one of those games I just keep on my phone and pick up again every once in a while and get sucked in again. It's just plain fun. If you liked Asteroids as a kid you will love the hell out of this.

Bugged weapons. Great game, but recently the weapons from my ship and enemies do not display graphics. The weapons are firing but just cant anything visually. It’s unfortunately takingaway from the gameplay.

De issue. Great game my favorite, but it doesn’t run on an IPHONE XR , Runs about 5 minutes then you loose control of the game, too bad!

Qdoggus. This game and it's original development team deserves slot of praise for the monumental achievement of making the best game in the AppStore. I just beat it and I had a hoot of a time the whole way through. I look forward to further endeavors from them. May the adventure continue soon. It’s now 2020 and coming back to this game, not only am I still having a blast, but also a sense of nostalgia. Update! One issue I have with this game, is that I purchased it originally for full price, before GameClub, yet I still have ads in game. GameClub even verified that I had purchased this game and stated that no ads would be shown when I signed into GameClub. This is unacceptable and definitely deters me from purchasing a subscription. It loads ads during a loading screen, but this still removes immersion and impedes the flow of game design.

Why Can’t this be a SKILLZ Game 😭. This game is amazing. I prefer the other version where you can use the Ore to build an Outpost, but this version is good too.

Great game.. I had downloaded this game a couple years or so ago and played it non stop for weeks. REALLY hoping for an update with more to play, or a new space miner 2 or something to continue. Ready for more for a while.

Ruined by game club. This was one of my favorite games. It was a five star game for sure and I would download it every couple of years to play it again. This last time it had been completely ruined by gameclub. They took the game I had paid for and injected really obtrusive adds every time there is a break in play (every 2 minutes or so).

Still the best game on IOS after all these years!. Please don’t give up on this game. Make a sequel or at least add more content!

Fun quirky multifaceted game. It's fun with good music and silly jokes. I played through this game twice years ago. I still remember the characters. It's not asking you for money all the time. I saw it didn't have many reviews, so I had to weigh in.

Great Game. Great Update. I first played this years ago on my 3GS. I remember it being good. I recently upgraded to a 7 plus and reinstalled this game. There was a massive upgrade since I played years ago and the campaign is now about a third longer. Roughly 4 hours on easy. There is also a new game+ mode and a few difficulty levels. And achievements (not just the Game Center kind). And a hilarious well written story. The list goes on. Simply put, skip all the games with micro transactions or constant ads and play a real video game.

Among my favorite iOS games. I love the simple arcade shoot-em-up mechanics with the RPG elements in this game. The dialogue is great too! Thank you for keeping this game playable for so many years. I will never delete it!

Hours of fun!. Earn money by destroying (mining) asteroids. Spend it on ship upgrades. Lots of weapons and upgrades to purchase, and lots of places to explore. Simple but addictive gameplay. Eager await their next game.

Best $3.99 I ever spent. Awesome. 7.5hours of gameplay and still more to go! Number of times I've missed my stop because I'm too busy mining ore is too many to count! Great cowboy be-bop inspired soundtrack and fun silly pun filled storyline. Games like this make the iPhone the greatest gaming platform. Five stars- it won't let me give six.

Awesome. Great game. You can easily spend hours and hours playing this. I'll be recommending this to everyone I know with an iPhone! Only change I'd make is letting you play your own iPod music.

Great game.. This is one of the best games I've ever played. Though I have a few small complaints: it deletes you account when you beat the boss and there should be a speacial ship or somthing inside the alien box.

To Infinity & Beyond. This is a marvellous & innovative title that would appeal to both genders. The graphics are gorgeously rendered in stunning colour and animated beautifully. The story is fun and engaging and gameplay is incredibly addictive, really sucking you in without realizing it. The hillbilly banjo music is an unusual choice but strangely gives the game character and an offbeat feel. There is a lot to like about this due to it's freshness and originality. The attention to detail is excellent and it's definitely one of the most polished games on the app store. It thoroughly deserves all the 5 star ratings & I will join in the chorus by adding yet another one. A incred-ore-bly good buy at $1.19... Get it 'ore' regret it...

Best game on iPhone!!!. I've played many so called must have games for iPhone, and can tell you this is the only one I've invested over 20 hours in and I'm still going back for more! Easily the most addictive game I've played and more than worth the money. Bring on a sequel....pretty please :-)

BUY BUY BUY!!!. If you are someone that reads reviews then, read this: I am not a developer of this game and talking it up for no reason. This game is well worth the money and in my opinion is one of the best RPG's on the iPhone. 5 stars all the way!!!

Addictive Excellence. This game combines the immediate satisfaction of an arcade game with the depth of an RPG. When I first tried it I really regretted purchasing it. After I began to upgrade my ship, including engines, weapons and shields, the depth of the title kicked in and I ended up playing all the way through, neglecting other AAA titles on my Xbox 360 (Mass Effect 2) and PS3 (Heavy Rain) over the course of a week, because I couldn't put this game down. The graphics go from 7/10 to 8.5/10 if you have an iPod touch 3rd gen (or iPhone 3GS) so if you don't have one don't panic but if you do you're in for a treat. The sound is brilliant and pays dividends if you have a good set of headphones. Give the trial version a go!

Asteroids + RPG + Funny = Spice Miner: Space Ore Bust. So, how do you make an arcade classic relevant to today's gamer? You either make a vector perfect remake and change nothing, you update the graphics and try to retain the gameplay, or you do what Venan have done and use the basic gameplay motif as the baseline for a humorous and delightful RPG. If you want something to pickup for five minutes whilst waiting in a queue, this is the game. If you want something to burn through those trans-continent flights, this is the game. If you want something just plain fun and enjoyable and cool, this is the game.

Awesome game. I loved the game and could not put it down. Well worth the money, heaps of fun and plenty of playing time. Better end sequence would be nice and I am now hooked waiting to buy an expansion pack! Also really liked the music and sound effects, they gave great atmosphere.

Can't put it down!. Space Miner is such an addictive game! The steady progression of ship technology, enemies, some decent variety in missions and great dialog makes it a real pleasure to play. Really worth checking out, for a great combo of arcade and RPG playing.

Addictive gameplay let down by the length of the campaign. Game play reminiscent of EV Nova, with a quirky story whose presentation reminds me a little of Privateer. There are plenty of upgrades that compel you to play just a little bit longer. The addictive gameplay is spoilt by the way too short story and the feeling that it would be tens times better if you could choose careers other than "space miner", a bigger world, and more missions times. All the same, I finished the game on normal in 2 days and I am compelled to work through all the difficulty settings.

Really fun game!. I was on the fence with this one but I'm so glad I bought it! Just so you know the HD version is getting pulled, and this version is getting all the new content, so make sure you buy this one and not the other one!

Addictive. This game is very addictive. Reminded me a little of the old Space Quest series on PC with its gags. Easy to use arcade controls combined with a good, humorous story and great graphics. I enjoyed the options available in upgrading your ships and components. You will definitely get value for money, will not be disappointed and will struggle to put this one down.

Awesome fun. Had a great time playing this game. Controls get easyer after the first few sectors. Great new ships, guns etc can be bought when you earn more cash. The comments are funny some times too.

Hard to Put Down. Space Miner is a game I hesitated to buy but heard so much about. I decided to purchase it while it was on sale and wow, this game is polished and addictive! Plenty of exploration and upgrades to keep you entertained for hours. If you enjoy I Dig It, this is that and so much more. Highly recommended.

Pretty cool!!!!. To all who thinks I'm one of those relatives from the guy below, you are being screwed over. This game I pretty cool, although(to the makers) you could add a music option because the hillbilly music can get quite. Annoying. This game is pretty cool cause you fly around in a spaceship killing monsters, mining etc. (to the makers) you could have afew updates to add more extra options to change your vehicle (e.g. The ability to customise colour, different vehicle pieces etc. An update would be awsome. Play the game it is really fun and also help me to 'bug' the producers to add an update or two! Thanks -gameplayer

Wonderful.. It exactly as everyone says. Its a bargain buy and show you shouldnt need to spend big to get diamonds. It's Brilliant. My only 2 wants are: to have this as a massive multiplayer game and make it harder to finish.

Amazing. 5 stars. A near perfect game. I played it non stop until the end. Gameplay is swift and rewarding, controls are good, and the dialogue is charming, witty and funny. You will have more fun with this game at $6 than most games you pay $50-$100 for on your xbox or PS3.

Please fix - still not right. Yes, you’ve fixed the crashing. But you haven’t fixed the controls, or the ship getting stuck gliding in space. Two major things that upset the game play. I have an iPhone 8 with up to date iOS. The first major issue is the ship. When I’m a sector, every 15-30 seconds, the ship freezes and glides. If you’re turning the ship controls, the ship will freeze in that position and just continue to glide. Fingers off the controls and nothing happens. You have to pause the game to get some movement back. If the pause doesn’t work, you have to reopen the app. So frustrating. The second issue is still the controls. Whether this is linked to the first issue I don’t know. I’ve adjusted the control positions many times, but some how the response for fire and move aren’t as sensitive as they used to be. Please fix. I have this app on my old iPhone 6S and it works amazingly. Doesn’t crash, doesn’t have any of these issues. Downloaded it on my iPhone 8 and it’s so frustrating.

Freaking AWESOME get it!. Just brillant, gameplay is fun, controls are perfect. Graphics & sound top notch. You start small crappy ship and bad weapon. Then you mine asteroids for cash, their are robot enemies who attack you so you have to upgrade your ship, reactor, engine, weapons, scanner, trackor beam. Plus alien tech upgrades. This game is kickass, big storyline but I just skipped over it's a bit drawn out. You won't be disappointed this is the best space game yet.

Simply put, it. Unbelievable. I would have paid $9.99 (perhaps more) for this game! The mechanic of space exploration and ship upgrading is very addictive. The characters and dialog are hilarious, the story is interesting, and the game doesn't take itself too seriously. The presentation is remarkable also, sound design, graphics, and art style are top notch. And, if you have a 3rd gen iPod Touch or iPhone 3GS, all of the textures use bump/normal mapping, specular lights, and lots of other stuff. It looks fantastic. Very, very highly recommended!

Extremely addictive. Awesome game, I've almost been playing it non stop since I bought it yesterday (just finished it on normal). It's the old kill things, collect cash, upgrade weapons, kill stronger things formula, but it's so well executed it doesn't matter. I'd say it's similar to hook champ in that regard, although hook champ has a more original gameplay mechanic, whereas this is just asteroids with fancier graphics. But originality aside, this is still one of the best games I've played on this platform!

i loved this game as a kid. I used to play this game non stop but i re downloaded it and it crashes every time i open the app. i tried to contact the developer but have heard back nothing. Guys i love your game please fix this issue so i can enjoy what is by far the best game on IOS

Space cowboy adventure!. It's been said before but this game is ORE-some! Great gameplay and graphics and cool storyline to boot. The mining can occasionally get repetitive but there's plenty of twists and quirky humor throughout to keep you coming back for more. It's sure to alleviate the b-ORE-dom in ur life ...haha couldn't resist 

Oresome. I only bought this game because everyone was raving about it and it was cheap. Bad move - I am hooked. I would write a longer review but my ship is a piece of junk and I need to mine more asteroids so I can afford upgrades!

So much fun!!. What a great game. The action is very smooth, the upgrade path is natural and the humour is brilliant. Controls are great and I love all the tips! I would think the developers would have charged a lot more. What a bargain!!

Awesome. I feel guilty that this was so cheap (bought on sale). The game has totally sucked me in, with it's great balance between top down space shooter, mission based gameplay, and the constant desire to level up for better equipment. If I wasn't sure before, I know now that with gameplay in titles like this, the iPhone/iPod Touch ranks equal with any other portable gaming platform, at a much cheaper price.

Where's that sequel dagnabbit?. I'm rarely compelled to submit a review for anything I buy from the App Store, but this game is the exception. This game is simply fantastic. Excellent art direction and design, fantastic characters and dialogue, and awesomely simple and addictive gameplay all rolled into one. My only quibbles are that the game feels a little repetitive (which the developers marvellously makes fun of :)) and that the main story feels a tad short. Given the bargain price-tag, these issues are easy to live with! If there is a sequel then I'd like to see more variety in the missions, and a greater focus on exploration. Thanks for one helluva ride :)

More updates?. Surprised they're still updating this amazing game, wish they'd make a proper sequel or more content but still great, fun game. More areas, challenges, upgrades and just anything 'new' in general would be great in a real sequel or updates. Cosmetic or medium advantages/random crates would be fine for in-app purchases to me both so I can contribute to the developer and so it's not a pay-to-win.

Truly Awesome. One of only a few games that I have found to be truly addictive on the iPhone. You can (and will) play long sessions at a stretch or short blasts on the bus. Everything - control mechanic, gameplay, storyline, GFX, sound, music, atmosphere - is great. Worth every penny.

Perth. Great game when it came out, now they made it better with the new update, it was a long time coming, hopefully the next update doesn't take as long , haven't stopped playing since I updated, keep the updates coming. Again great game.

Thanks?. I loved this game. Good story, great gameplay, good graphics. Then the update comes out and it crashes everytime I use it. It may be all well and good for the 3rd Gen users but my 2nd Gen iPod Touch can't handle it anymore. It's gotten so bad that I'm stuck on a boss battle, I load the game and as soon as I click resume it crashes. Please fix this if you can.

Best iPhone game I've played!. And i've played few. Great across the board, very polished. Lots of fun, amazing detailed graphics, easy to pick up and play for few minutes at a time but can also be played for hours on end. I ran my battery down several times one weekend playing through this. Highly recommended.

Keep it coming!. My favourite game keeps getting better and better. Any plans for in app purchases of additional levels in future upgrades? I'd be happy to pay for them.

so much fun !. My 8 year old son and I have been wrestling eachother over my iphone all week to play this game, it is so much fun and keeps you coming back. I was quite disapointed when I finished it as was hoping another area would appear so I could keep right on going again and again collecting ore, pimping my ship and finding alien technology! When are v 2, 3 4 and 5 coming out ?! Awesome work guys.

Best iOS game yet. This is the first review I've ever written for an iOS title. After 3 years of owning an iPhone, Space Miner remains one of the best games I've experienced on the platform. Just got even better!!. Space miner was a really unique and surprising game, with a great sense of humour and good replay-ability. That was before this update. Now it has got even better, with more items to find and more upgrades to buy. Now all I can hope for are new levels, via update or DLC. Thankyou Venan!

Huge fun, addictive, re-playable. Great game. Merges a classic simple top-down space shoot-em-up with some RPG elements and a basic story line. Lots of interesting upgrades to find, so perfect for people who like that dynamic (e.g. Diablo). Genuinely addictive. Can pick up and play a level in 5 minutes - but then of course you just want to play one more and before you know it you've lost two hours. Does get a little repetitious towards the end, and it could be bigger with more upgrades/enemies/bosses/environments. But that just points to how much fun the game itself is.

Mission in new area not working. Can't finish the expansion balerian sector mission can't be started and can't restart to collect other alien tech either. That's a pretty big bug guys New patch didn't fix the problem.

Don't understand.... Sometimes I wonder if all reviews are paid for? This game is not 5/5 stars. It's just asteroids with different maps. Upgrades are a decent addition, but for the most part you'll just be flying around shooting rocks in space. Additionally, I didn't find the storyline that funny, nor the graphics all that impressive. Anyways that's my review. Just another solid 3 star game.

Space Miner. Amazing little game. Revamped Old school asteroids mechanism with great fluidity of movement great audio and a fun little story to keep it moving and allow for a tech improvements to ships. Perfect scale of game for a mobile. I keep coming back to this one. A perfect little game.

Was 5 star. As above, the screen is cut off on the right side so you cannot see what equipment energy stats are. Also can't change turret weapon on highest ship. Annoying for that reason.

Space miner. I had this game for years and loved it. I played it numerous times but then had to delete it because it was no longer compatible with my latest iOS. I found this on the App Store and reading the description it sounded like a new version of the game and so I purchased it for $5.49, only to find out it is the exact same game just now compatible with iOS. So although I love the game and am glad to be able to play it again the fact that you made me rebuy it is not very cool. So therefore you get two stars. Not a very nice way to treat your customers.

Perfect iPhone Gaming Experience. Excellent graphics, story, sound and controls, and the challenge on Normal is perfect for someone in their mid 40's with crappy reflexes and no hand/eye coordination. Amazing game, ultra-highly recommended!

Crashes on IOS 11.3. This is a great game and I played it everyday until the IOS 11.3 update and now it will not even load. iPhone 5s Hopefully it will be fixed soon as it is a great offline game.

Good game but.... I loved this game. It’s been a redownload several times for me and always been a good time killer. After downloading it with the new owners I was rather annoyed with all the ads. The biggest problem I have with it now is I cannot play without cell service. I enjoyed the game when I got it because it was cheap and I didn’t need cell service for at work or other places. It was quite a shock when I looked at my newest cellular data usage and this game what is the highest of games I’ve played.

A classic just got better!. I wish I'd found this one earlier. It's a shame it isn't easily found on the App Store. They really need to fix the games that are in the "top 100" because they're garbage compared to this one. Fun and funny only begin to describe how addictive this game is. Broken Text. The text on the right hand goes off the screen (iPhone SE) so I can't see what I'm upgrading on my ship. It breaks the whole RPG part of the game. Shame, it looks like I could have really sunk some hours into this!

Woo Hoo! A much needed update!. I played this game to death on my 3gs. I suspect I will now be playing this game to death on my iPad. A fantastic and very playable game from back in the days when games were full games and the app store was not over-run with freemium apps. Imagine being able to play a game without waiting 4 hours for something to recharge, or constant shelling out of $0.99 for "gems" to get things moving again. We need more like this. Seriously.

Just what I've been looking for.. As a game designer myself, I'm pretty critical of what I pick up and play for more than ten minutes. I'd heard good reviews of Space Miner out on some top iPad (I know its an iPhone title, but it looks just as beautiful enlarged on the iPad) game sites and so I thought I would give it a shot. I have not been disappointed at all. This has become my new favorite game. The controls are simple and wonderful. The gameplay is fast, fun, and addictive. The upgrades really keep you playing and aiming for a better ship and accessories. On top of that, the goofy storyline really is fun and adds to the mix. I really don't even have any cons to report on this game. It really is the best thing I've bought for the iPad and I have a slew of current games.

Truly incredible. Hats off to the developers. This game is fantastic. After several days of playing this, I can say that it has left me fairly speechless and quite impressed. I have had my share of FPS games like Modern Combat, strategy, and great puzzle games like Spider, but this tops them all. All in all, though, I have to admit that I was quite skeptical when I first bought it, but none of it was justified. The characters are great and the dialogue is sincerely funny, yet it is the combat, harvesting, and management which seals the game as a classic. Also, it is casual enough for the most easy-going player and intense enough to keep the excitement. The whole product was wonderfully made and I hope there are some types of updates or a sequal to keep this going. If one had to compare this to any other game, it is like a grab-bag of some of the best aspects of other classics like Asteroids, Escape Velocity, and Freelancer (to a lesser extent). All of this, though, is not to devalue the work they did in creating a unique universe to explore. I would highly recommend this game and at $2.99, the game is an absolute steal for what is given. If it helps, I cannot name one game over 2.99 that I would recommend higher. Enjoy.

Too addicting for its own good.. This is hands down the best game on the App Store I have played. I don't know exactly what makes it so great, but I just couldn't stop playing until I beat it. I think the graphics/animation are great and the dialogue is comical and entertaining. The winner for the game though has to be the customization of the ship and how there are so many different variations and ways to go about modding it. I just absolutely love it and no game I have played has come close to it yet. I think that means a lot coming from me because I have bought my fair share of apps and the majority of them are ok time wasters, but this one felt like a full fledged game that made me keep coming back for more. Just got to write my thanks to the developer and I wish more games like this were in the App Store.

Why are you reading this?. EDIT: A small request to the devs: the latest update fixed some bugs, and now allows you to play your own music in the background. This is great and all, but one of the changes was to makes the weapons fire more visible. Now the lasers and missles you fire are far too big, and yes, ugly. The old size was fine. Anyway, the rest of the update is great and I'm still lovin the game. Thanks! Just buy the game already! This is the only game on the iPhone that has gotten me to lose track of time. The characters and music are well designed and the dialouge is well written, you'll have at least a couple laugh-out-loud momemts and there are some clever refrences in there too. Collecting ore (different types have different worth) is a blast. The physics are great and there are a good amount of upgrades and ship hull types to build a battlecruiser or a speed demon that zips in circles around enemies. This game is totally worth the $5 and the current sale at 2.99 is an absolute steal! You can get many hours of fun out of this (I'm at 4hrs and I'm still not done). 200+ glowing reviews don't lie. Buy it, you won't regret it :D

More like this, please.. I bought this during the $1.99 sale, and I've regretted it ever since. I wish that I could have purchased it at full price. Considering all of the other garbage I've bought at this price point, I feel like an absolute thief. The developers deserve more. This game truly is as good as everyone says it is. You'll get sucked in and you won't stop playing until your battery is dead. My only gripe is that the game keeps track of how long you've been playing -- my number is getting embarassing. Vote with your wallet, folks. We need more AAA titles like this on the iPhone. Superb gameplay, superb graphics and sound, and an often hilarious story. More like this, please.

Unbelievably Engaging. It is extremely rare that a game on the app store hooks my attention for more than a few minutes. It is even rarer that a game makes me want to return to play it during times I shouldn't be playing games. Space Miner has managed to do both in spades. From the humorous dialog to the upgradable ship equipment to the surprisingly fun battle mechanics, all wrapped around the simple idea of mining ore, this game shines in every respect. The icing on the cake is the seemingly random side missions that pop up when you go to visit what looks to be a normal sector. I don't believe there is another game yet that has such a polished experience across every aspect, and it's fast becoming my favorite game on the iPhone. On a side note, there is a bit of lag in the very heavily filled star fields (more noticibly in the ones with solar clouds) while playing on my 3G. It's by no means game breaking, and likely just the graphics effects combined with the enormous amount of meteors and enemies lagging down the 3G, but I thought it was worth mentioning in case it's a bug or optimizable in some way.

great game. I stayed up till 4am playing only this game. it was addicting. The easy mode is easy enough that you can casually play and the hard and medium are perfect for the hardcore rpger. All around great: Graphics: particles and animation all great. Very nice Audio: Not bad, i don't usually use audio (esp music) but I did enjoy the sounds. When you start to get 6 guns on one ship the shooting gets really annoying. Physics: great. Moving takes a little to get use to but once you get it down it is easy to control and move around. The options really cater to many different moving styles as well Gameplay: Very fun. They make it easy to know how to buy things and you are constantly looking for missions. You can see on the map the locations that have missions and once you go there it will start the mission. You are also not lost in the area looking for one little thing because they give you a indicator to show where you need to go. Story Line: great, and they let you skip it especially if you are playing the game all over or if you failed a mission and don't want to go through the dialog. Totally worth the money. I would love to see an addon that adds more missions, levels, ships, weapons, etc. Really I just want to keep playing the game. Beat it in about 7-8 hours the first time through.

An enjoyable space RPG that consumes your time. I'm a converted Dsi player who never thought the iphone could create the fun time consuming atmosphere that a DSi can deliver when it come to RPGs. Well Space Miner has solidifed my faith in the iphone and its ability to deliver an inexpensive, but worthy, entry into this genre. In Space Miner, you play Joe, a young pilot who lands on his uncle's meteor mining business to find that not only is it going into default, but the bank may be up to some shady business. Of course the missions bring you closer to the truth. Simple controls, upgrades and a good story kept me so interested I stayed up past midnight to clear a boss level; something I had only reserved for the DSi(which is feeling a little lonely lately). I'm surprised that this big adventure feels right at home on my little iphone. Something like this would have cost me 20+ dollars on my DSi an RPGso the $1.99 price tag brings added joy to such a find. Enjoy a complete RPG on your phone? Isn't that something Ngauge tried to do many years ago...well iphone has succeeded. Enjoy.

This game is excellent!. As soon as you fire this game up you can spot the care and polish given the whole package. The menus are well laid out quick to get through right to your game. The art is excellent and the story and writing are well laid out and humorous. The animation is absolutely fabulous, and before I forget the audio is extemely well done. I put on headphones as the load screen suggested and you can tell a good part of the budget for this game went into the audio. There is so much content here in the way of missions, surprise side quests, boss fights, secret upgrades, that you will be enjoying yourself for hours. The controls are excellent and there are plenty of options for changing them to suit your desire and the difficulty scales at a good pace. The RPG element of levelling up, discovering new systems and finding hidden alien technology to use on your ship along with the combat make this whole thing so great that I can hardly believe it's a 1.0 release. This game is fantastic and you can't go wrong for $5! Even if they add nothing to this game in patches you will be satisfied with the content. I can't wait to see what else these guys have in store for future games!

perfect game except.... i agree with another reviewer who said it should be more difficult to have the difficulty level set back. hardcore is difficult (as it should be). if you die a few times, it asks you do you want to go to hard? (you will want to say no) but the problem is, when you die, it asks you to retry the level. so if you aren't paying attention (like me), you'll just hit yes because you expect it to ask you to play the level again. honestly, there should be no option to go back a difficulty level. but besides that minor nitpick. wow. great game. i've been wasting WAY too much time playing this (its that good!). more suggestions (small ones, reasonable ones): allow us to keep playing AFTER we defeat the boss: maybe only in hardcORE mode? more weapons upgrades in the higher modes. maybe allowing us to equip 4 alien tech in hard and 5 in hardcORE? i've just defeated hardcore and want to play more but don't know what to do. help!

Great Space Title. This is a great title for the iPod Touch or iPhone. It has previously been described as an Asteroids type of game, but it's a lot more than that. Sure, you mine ore out in the fields, but you also get to upgrade your ship, fight off enemies, and there are mini-missions that you occasionally get interrupted with when you go out to mine (bosses of sorts). I couldn't put the game down after I first bought it, and I am hoping that feeling is maintained as I continue to play it. The graphics are great, the ship store and modifications are adequate (not terribly complex, but decent), and the story line is alright. At least the story keeps you somewhat engaged in the game; without it, it would be dull and boring. If you love a good space-themed RPG, go ahead and pick up this game. It's easily worth the money paid for it.

One of the better shooter-type games on the iPod.. I know what you're probably thinking which is that you're suspicious of any game that gets so many 5 star reviews. We've all been burned by games on the iTunes store where it's obvious the devs had their friends 5 star it and then get THEIR friends to star it, etc. until the reviews are filled with quick little BS comments like "BEST GAME EVAR!!" just to sucker people into playing it. Space Miner is NOT one of those games. All this praise is, for once, well deserved. Space Miner is sort of like a boiled down version of Privateer where you simply blast up asteroids, grab the loot, and then build up enough cash to get a cooler ship with more stuff. It's a simple premise, but it's executed beautifully with obvious production values. Seriously, just get the game if this whole premise sounds cool to you.

Unbelievable!. Unbelievable and highly addictive! I love this game. First off, it takes about 10 minutes to fine tune the controls so be for-warned about that. Once you get the controls down, the game get's going. It's very simple and straight forward, yet highly addictive. I couldn't put it down all afternoon. Great game play, solid controls, funny humor - what more could you want? Well worth the money. I just hope Venan has some more games like this up their sleeves. For all those whining about paying for a game or waiting for one to go on sale, regardless of price, this game is a must. I'm definitely hoping for a sequel! Perhaps a better version for the upcoming iPad would be nice!

The Perfect Asteroids Update. If you love Asteroids, games with gorgeous space backgrounds, games with humorous storylines, or RPGs, you owe it to yourself to pick up Space Miner. I can't stress enough how beautiful the space backgrounds are. Each sector looks unique, too, so you won't get tired of seeing the same environments while you're mining space rocks or rescuing space tourists or blasting space pinatas or whatever else. Another nice touch is the banjo music, which makes me suspect the Firefly TV series was an inspiration to the game's developers. The RPG aspect of earning new licenses and upgrading your ship throughout the game was very well done. If I have one complaint at all, it would be that I would prefer dual stick controls for the ship, but since this game is basically an incredible version of Asteroids, I understand their choice. Still, I think the game Meteor Blitz controls better overall, though Space Miner is the better game in every other aspect. For the price, this game is absolutely worth it. I could see paying $20 or more for a PSP or DS version.

One of the greatest of all time. First let me start by saying the iOS is a great platform for casual games. There are thousands of games that are great to pick up and play for 10-20 minute bursts. There are only a handful of iOS games that cross the line into "full-fledged" gaming experiences. This is the game that will convince you that such an animal exists. This game is long, challenging, funny and impossible to put down once you invest the first hour into it. Don't be deterred by how horribly your ship handles when you start playing, for your engine is called a "gas guzzler". After you begin purchasing your upgrades, you quickly realize that your hard earned money will buy you an asteroid/enemy blasting warship. I can not explain how satisfying this is. You really have to customize the ship and reap the benefits of a hard day mining in the asteroid field to get an idea of what this game has to offer. This game is the perfect mix of action, strategy, comedy and RPG elements all rolled into a $5 game that is more fun than dozens of console games that I paid a weeks worth of groceries for. If someone told me give me 3 reasons why the iOS devices are actual gaming platforms, my answer would simply be; Space Miner, Rolando/Rolando 2 and Plants VS Zombies. iOS is here. Nintendo DS be afraid ... Be very afraid ... T.B.C.

Classic from the get go. Some games just will never die, and for good reason. Space Miner: Space Ore Bust, is proof but to call it an Asteroids clone would be missing the point. The game mixes Asteroids-esq gameplay with the ability to ever acquire new ships, weapons, shields, engines, collectors and so forth aid the player in asteroid mining. The game play is simple with some clever variations to keep it from over staying its welcome. It only takes about 3-6 hours to complete depending on how far the player wishes to keep playing. The latest update adds mild reparability, and 3GS owners get a mild graphical increase. Its one of the best games of any genre for the iPhone, and sports top tier presentation. The upgrade system is pretty simple, without much variety, outside of the case of weapons, upgrading simply means acquiring a better version of what you already have, leaving little room for deep customization. Had the game been make any longer, due to the lack of incentive, the game might have suffered a bit. Still these are pretty superficial complaints. Hopefully there'll be a Space Ore sequel, with even more variety in upgrades and game play. This already one of the best iPhone games, but a sequel built around this game could simply be one of the best handheld games ever created. Its the right mix of (dare I say) RPG-ish upgrading and arcade action and remains on my very short list with GeoDefense, ZenBound and Plants Vs Zombies as games that define the iPhone/Touch.

Kicking Me Out of The App...?. Hey, I absolutely LOVE the game, but right after I reached level 5, it will no longer let me access the game... I mean, it will let me pick the character I want to play as, but after I press load, it kicks me out of the app... Like I said before, I ADORE the game, great graphics, hilarious story line (my favorite part so far is when Galactus says he talks to himself telepathically), and I love how it's almost a "choose your own story" game. Those kinds are my favorites, and I have no complaints other than the kicking me out thing. Believe The Hype: Best iPhone Game thus far.. 800+ Five-Star reviews - in less than a week of release - can't all be wrong, and trust me, they're not. If you bought your iPhone yesterday, this will be your first Big Epic Game. If you're an old dog, this will be the reminder of what iTouch games are capable of. Sick graphics, top controls, top gameplay, top story. What's the catch? It's so absurdly addictive that you'll probably spend an alarming number of hours playing, which will cause you to miss sleep, work/school, and possibly your relationship. It's not too late to join the party. This game is part arcade (imagine Asteroids in gorgeous 3D graphics with layering) and part simplistic RPG, allowing you to assume the role of a teenage miner and to customize your ship to the Nth degree. It doesn't get bogged down in sci-fi/RPG technobabble, nor is it a brainless shooter. You can skip ahead and nail only the "story" parts, or you can spend literally days cleaning out asteroid sectors just because it's so much fun. Oh, and the part a lot of people miss? The HUMOR. Pathetic "space heroes" that make the crew on Futurama look intelligent! Evil robots that like to insult you using bad HaX0R netspeak and emoji!!1!11! And did I mention the bluegrass/country music themes? This game is better than drugs. Click it, buy it, mine it, rate it. Happy trails!

Crazy fun!!!! . It was about time for me to get a new game on my iPod. I saw this game and at first I was skeptical. I read the reviews and I thought eh what the heck mind as well give it a shot.. I bought it and within the first few minutes I couldn't put it down! The graphics, the music, and the plotline of the game is great! Don't hesitate! This will be THE BEST $1.99 you've ever spent. Go buy it So I just finished the game and may I say this game is definetly addictive. My only issue is that I did not like the way it ended. You beat the last boss and that's it... I agree with others this game begs for a sequel. I really do hope they come out with it soon. Also endless play doesn't sound too bad either.  this game is great! 

Awesome, a real game. Great tribute to asteroids with a wonderful story and very repeatable play through.

AMAZING NEW UPDATE!!!. A few years ago, long before the new update came out, I loved Space Miner. The only downside was that once I'd completed the game once, what came next was way too predictable. I would either take on the challenge of Hard difficulty, or start over again in Normal difficulty. After completing the game a few more times, it got kind of boring, and I moved on to other games. I just got back into Space Miner (partly because I hadn't played in a long time), and I had updated it but was unaware of all the new things they had added. I actually got disappointed when I had cleared all the sectors but the Beta sector, because I thought the whole thing would just start all over again. But instead, I was delighted and amazed to find there was a new adventure to begin! I could also go back to Beta and finally mine those giant metalstroids! That is the most amazing update EVER!!! Great job, Space Miner! 😄😄😄😄

An oldie, but a golden one. Great game, and still great support

Well worth the price!. I don't understand how all the different pieces of this game fit together into such an awesome experience. It's like baking a cookie. You start with nasty ingredients like raw eggs and baking powder, add some stuff that's ok like flour, and something really tasty like sugar or chocolate. The end result is wonderful and addictive. I don't usually like arcade games. I don't usually like silly / zany humor. I don't usually like bluegrass and banjos. I do like exploration and really like growing in power through gradual upgrades. When these ingredients are all mixed together to result in Space Miner, I simply love the end result and played compulsively for 10 hours during the first two days I owned it. I have no regrets over paying the $4.99 purchase price, and encourage all the fence-sitters to take advantage of the current sale.

Stop spamming fake updates!. The game is awesome, but Gameclub keeps updating it almost weekly just to use the patch notes as an advertisement.

The reviews are true: it's fantastic :). Although this game does share some very basic similarities to the arcade classic "Asteroids" it would be very unfair to make this comparison without elaborating. First of all, colliding with an asteroid does not kill you in this game. Your ship can withstand sigificant damage thanks to its shields and its hull. As you mine ore and earn money, you will constantly be upgrading your ship. Better sensors, multiple weapons, faster thrusts, larger power reactors, larger cargo space, et cetera. Enemies are diverse. Controls are intuitive. You can explore a large map containing many sectors with different types of asteroids (such as gaseous, ice, etc) each behaving differently. This game is much more than a simple asteroids-style shooting game, and was easily worth my $4.99.

Simply put a MUST BUY CLASSIC!!!. I am a hardcore gamer I have over 300 games. I never written an iPod review but with this game I had too. If you pass up this game it would be one of the biggest mistakes ever. I have every console and a gaming pc and this game stand tall with the best of the best. Worth atleast 10x the price. Honestly it's better than almost every handheld game out that you would pay twenty to forty for. Simple enough for anyone to play but so much depth even the most hardcore of gamers will be more than satisfied. The game is huge, good story, lots quest, over a hundred upgrades to customize your ship, huge solar systems with 55+ areas. It's crazy that this game 2 bucks believe the hype it's better or just as good as any game on here for 10bucks. I wish I had this game in a hard copy just to guarantee I have this game forever. Thanks for this creative unique game good to see a company that can still do something original and it still have depth.

Awesome, even for a non-gamer.. I'm not a gamer on any platform, but was looking to check it out on my Touch. I got the free version and never thought I'd actually pay for an app (much less a game), but when the free app ceilinged out, buying the full version was a no-brainer. I can't put this thing down. I've stayed up all night playing a few times, napped for 20 minutes, then gone to work. The storyline and gags are funny, the thing loads and runs smooth as silk with no glitches, and even the music is spot-on. The controls are intuitive even for a non-gamer. I'm only disappointed that it's almost over. Clever and polished and EVERY detail was thought out. Whatever Venan's next release is, I'll get it.

.26 update broke the game. Playing fine, now all of a sudden can’t load with the correct resolution on mini 4

Good Game. I bought this a few days ago and decided to play it last night. Five hours later, I knew I had to stop or I would never be able to wake up this morning for work. Much of the core gameplay reminds me of the old Asteroids game; however, as you progress you can spend your earned money on upgrades to your current ship. Another difference is there is actually a storyline. The graphics are as good as or better than other iTunes games. The pictures on the product description are an adequate representation of the graphic quality. One twist on some of the levels of asteroids is an overlaying fog effect which is very well done. If you like a bluegrass sound, you will like this game’s music. It is interestingly fitting with setting the ambience of the game. Though it does cut down on file size, the in-game dialog are all captions instead of voice-overs. There is the occasional word or two at certain points of the game – as previously mentioned by another reviewer, but 99.9% textual storyline. The controls are simple and easy to use. Instead of pressing up for moving north, back for south, right for east, etc., there is a thrust button and you rotate the direction the ship is pointing – making it easy to thrust one direction and spin the ship around and fire at “something” following you. Overall, the game is a lot of fun and I foresee a few more late nights minin’ ore.

No longer works. I really enjoyed this game but it now will not get past the splash screen without crashing.

More like this. This game was so good it prompted me to write my first itunes review. (to all review writers, please edit your writing so you don't look like a 2 year old pounding buttons. i can't stress that enough. ppl depend on being able to read your opinions to make informed decisions) I have been a hardcore console gamer for 2 decades so I consider myself experienced enough to judge quality... this game is quality. Fun dialogue, enough of a plot to keep you interested, great graphics and who doesn't like upgrading their spaceship? All with that great oldschool asteroid game at its core. This is easily my favorite game on the ipod right now and I don't say that lightly. I would love to play this on a console. maybe an x-box360 arcade crossover.... hint hint. anyways, thanks for the great game venan.
