Warcraft Rumble Comments & Reviews 2026
Mindless but slightly entertaining. The game has the potential to be a fun Warcraft themed mobile game but it has some major issues. The first of which is that despite having a good foundation, it’s clear that the games design is hampered by this god awful attempt at the Free to Play monetization business model. So rather then design a FUN feature they substituted it with unnecessary incentives to buy progression mechanics. Second is that on top of game design focus on incentivizing the player to buy gold, the level design and game mechanics aren’t well done. Level difficulty fluctuates between increasingly easy and thoughtless mini spam to literally impossible to complete levels until you level up your minis (in other words you should be buying gold to level them up). Again, this game has the foundation to be an entertaining game you can quickly play on your phone or iPad but lacks any real strategy or game design because the real focus is to create a slot machine that naive player dump money into so that they can continue to pull the lever.
Contemporary with Classic Warcraft Goodness. I’ve been a Warcraft fan for many years. Though I enjoyed WoW for a few years, WoW kind of bummed me out since the game existence basically meant there wouldn’t be a WC4. This game is no WC4, but it does feel a bit like classic Warcraft with a modern twist, which I am enjoying immensely. It’s the next best thing to WC4 if not better (although a new story would be cool, but I understand that would be problematic with WoW) I love that two-headed ogre mages are back on the Horde! My only complaint is that the final tower is very anticlimactic. I wish the main towers were castle/ fortresses to be more in line with classic Warcraft and showcase the importance of protecting the structure. Or if the final tower was a selectable boss, like the bosses in the pve campaign , that would be super cool and add more customization. Also one-eyed Willy (the WoW pet companion) mini needs to be added. HUGE miss ;) Anyhoo, lots of pve and fun competitive pvp with Warcraft characters in their classic format. I’m digging this game a lot.
Decent player review. I used to play Clash Royale but fell behind because I did not pay to win, and Rumble seems to be heading in that same route only worse. I have played a lot and got to the Plague lands in the 60s with a collection level of 19 and I just can’t seem to push further. There are at least 5 different cash grab packs at any given time and the amount of EXP you gain is abysmal. You get to unlock three talents for each of your minis and I eventually found that only one talent is active at a time. This game is already extremely difficult, the AI cheats and gains more gold than you do passively. Most games I control the entire board with every gold mine and chest under my control and yet the AI still pushes out more minis than me. I really wanted to enjoy this game, and I even remember Blizzard promoting CO-OP for this game early in its development, but I guess just like Overwatch 2, they scuffed that mechanic for more money instead. Overall if you want a game like this I’d say steer clear from Rumble, it is an obvious cash grab.
In-game events are a complete SweatFest.. I thought the point of most mobile game is to have fun playing it on-the-go and enjoy special events as they come and go. Blizzard said, not this mobile game! If you want to mindlessly play a game in order to wind down and relax, find something else. Doesn’t matter if you dump money into this game, learn the best strategies, level up every minion to max, you will get absolutely wrecked in just about every special in-game event. You’ll need a change of clothes if you take playing this game too seriously, the sweatiness is real! The only solution I’ve found is that the difficulty levels seem to be on some sort of algorithmic rotation. If your bases are getting completely overwhelmed easily and quickly, just surrender and start the next game. I would say about 1 out of every 3-5 games has an “easier” difficulty level that is much more manageable. Don’t want to take my word for it? Try it for yourself. Good luck!
Terrible and steals your money.. I downloaded this game to get the pet reward attached to Retail World of Warcraft. I played all the way thru Hogger and beat him and it would not let me collect my coins I won as a reward. Online support said to restart the game, so I did. I still could not claim the coins and I am now locked into the GRID store where I am being forced to buy a character for 90coins… except I only have 30 because I cannot claim the Hogger reward. Next online support said to uninstall and reinstall the game… which just made my 30coins disappear. Uninstalling a second time made the coins come back but still left me stuck in the GRID shop. I went to my computer and bought coins so I could get out of the GRID shop and just claim my pet to never think about this game again… and now they have taken my money and not given me the coins. So I am STILL in the GRID shop AND they stole my money. And there does not appear to be a way to submit a ticket, you have to call them during business hours (which is inconvenient timing for me) so I’m stuck like this until it either fixes itself or I have a chance to actually call them.
Pay 2 win garbage. The game is pay-to-win garbage like usual. You'll enjoy winning automatically no matter what combination of characters you choose for the first 12 hours of gameplay in order to simulate that you're doing well. Afterwards, you will get into the basic PvE gameplay where you will, on some matches, no matter what you do, no matter how you try, you will lose 20 times in a row to simulate difficulty. It's all a facade to get you to try to pay money. In the end, the money doesn't do anything. What you're paying for is trying to get higher levels, which then gives you further access to the PvE map, but you don't ultimately gain anything in this game. The game is a full waste of time. Said you’ll be stuck in the usual spot of herod like all their games unless you have levels on your characters which is a giant maze of boring… dont waste a cent if you play… ull only contribute to more junk rip offs..
Fun game. Runs poorly.. Very fun game. You can play for a very long time without having to feel like you need to buy anything. If you ever give them money go for the arclight booster (it continues to give benefits the more you play). I’ve played over a year and never felt like I was not able to play the way I want because I haven’t given money. They also do a very good job of introducing new units and adding new features. This game runs VERY poorly. On my much older iPhone (XR) this game turns my phone into a heater. It gets extremely hot (which is just wasting battery life). This runs well on a 4th generation iPad Air. This runs incredibly poorly on an 2021 M1 Max MacBook Pro with 32GB RAM. It will heat up the laptop, turn on the fans and the laptop will recognize that the cause is this silly little game. Sometimes the game will chug and the framerate will drop to single digits. Sometimes the game just doesn’t recognize clicks (as the framerate drops happen). Also on the phone the game crashes pretty often. If the issue was ONLY that my older iPhone XR runs poorly I feel like that may be understandable. The fact that it also runs poorly on a MUCH more powerful laptop shows that they’re not putting enough effort into optimizations.
WOW WOW WOW! I’m Hooked!. So I’m not a Warcraft player and to be honest idk any of the characters. The last Warcraft I played on PC was the first or second title where you could pick orcs or humans and build and battle. That being said I love games like this where it’s PVP and you build your own deck or in this case minis. This game has a HUGE ADVANTAGE over other titles in this genre and that’s the STORY MODE!!! It’s so fun to just be able to play the game on story mode when you don’t wanna really play a PVP match. The minis and their designs and actions are top of the line. It’s clear Blizzard didn’t cut any corners here and it shows. I can’t wait to see what other new things are added to the game as the updates start to come in. I’ve also noticed another big thing that normally effects this genre and that’s the fact that this game is NOT A PAY2PLAY/WIN! It’s literally skill based and that’s a big plus imo. The rewards you get from story mode are more than enough to rank up your minis and be competitive in PvP mode.
Unbalanced cash grab missing basic features. The initial experience was fun. The PvE is great compared to others of the genre. However, for joining the genre 5+ years late, it doesn’t even have basic functionality such as a match summary or replays, friendly battles, etc. Although technically free, PvP may as well be gated behind a paywall. Your unit levels have throttled/capped levels as you progress in rank, similar to other games, in order to even the playing field at low ranks while the $$ players can rise up. However, you can pay $ for extra abilities for units, and those extra abilities are not gated by rank. The point formula for win/loss keeps most people, even cash players, at a low rank. So after you win ~5 games, you will be placed against people with full rosters of added abilities, against which there is simply no winning if you don’t also have the extra abilities. For f2p it will probably take 6+ months to get a single deck to this point. If you are a cash player and are still interested, the PvP balance is horrendous. There are a handful of highly OP units, so every match is monotonous with highly similar decks, and deviating from the short list of OP units is a massive power loss.
Decent gameplay, pay to win model. I played the game for a few hours. The gameplay is just alright. I’m sure there are more engaging team combinations once you’ve unlocked more minis, but if after three hours it starts to feel like a grind, then it’s not very enjoyable. After these three hours, I was offered a pack for $4.99 that would give me 3x as much gold as I had earned during my playtime. It instantly made me feel like I had wasted my time playing at all, since all I would need to do is spend less than I would for a coffee and have a ton of gold. It made me think of how much I make hourly at my job and equate that to playing the game. If I make say 300 gold per hour and a pack for $5 is 1500 gold. Then I’m basically making $1 an hour in gold in this game. And I’m not complaining about the price of the pack, or the amount of gold you earn in game. I’m annoyed that while playing a video gam, it makes me think of real life working and has me drawing parallels at all. I wish more people would take a harder stance on micro transactions in games, because I know most people would choose for them to not exist given the option. Yet people still rate games that have them 4.8 stars and spend their hard earned money for a fleeting sense of superiority.
Fort condor for wow. Warcraft rumble is awesome! It got strategy, epic gameplay, and gnomes!!! If gnomes arent your thing it has other fantasy creatures like orcs, gryphons and trolls oh my! Better than a sidescroller, this game lets you level your game pieces and it has a chesslike feel with gold miners that are like pawns and ground troops like armored soldiers and other fighter classes similar to bishops, flying gnome kamikaze troops like knights and you can even get characters like the archmage jaina or the orc overlord grommash that are more powerful troops that are similar to queens. It has a kind of reverse tower defense feel although you can get towers so its like a tower offense and defense game with both sides pumping out troops and manning the artillery!!!! I love this game and can forsee playing it regularly. I also like how it has ingame bonuses to allow free to play people to keep up even if they dont buy items or troops from the store.
Bogged down by odd issues. The actual moment to moment game play is very well done, there’s a lot of levels and I’m only like halfway through. I’ve been playing almost every day for 2 months. The unit abilities are cool and still not overwhelming. You cannot play this game offline at all! So if you want to do campaign in spotty cell service it’s not even worth trying. I don’t see why some parts of the game aren’t available offline. (Also I’ve run into some unit movement bugs which will kill an attempt on a mission which is just a bummer). Additionally the difficulty curve is not steady at all. I beat every mission in 1-2 tries for the first 45ish missions, but the last 15 missions have taken longer than the double the time of the 45. It’s been a lot of grinding daily/weekly challenges to progress, which isn’t super fun, especially when I only get 1-2 levels further. This would be fine if I could play PvP but my characters are significantly under the level cap, so in 80% of matches I get crushed, even if I have better strategies. I don’t get why the levels are not more equalized for PvP, especially because it would help fill in the gaps so I could actually complete the campaign missions. If you’re looking to invest a significant amount of time Im sure there are games that have more quality of life features, and more equal PvP experiences. The game isn’t bad but isn’t as high quality as it easily could be.
A voracious trap. This game is one of the most heinous examples of predatory micro transactions I’ve ever played. The gameplay and progression is very fun in the beginning, and then it slows down to almost a dead halt. I spent a stupid amount of money to try and make up for the loss the feeling of progression, only to get to the point that I realized that the game isn’t actually fun, it’s the progression system that’s fun. The game had potential, but seriously, stay away. I have never put so much money into a game to play it for such a short amount of time. Go play Final Fantasy intergrade. They have a free version of this game, in the game that honestly has more depth. You’ll probably spend less money buying that game than you were playing this one anyway. Don’t think this game has long-term potential more so than that one, there is no long-term potential in this game currently, other than getting you to spend every dollar you can level up every minion to play a dungeon at the end of the game, one dungeon, and there’s not a whole lot to get out of it. That’s it. Disgusting, honestly.
Overworks your battery & struggles to stay chargiNg while app is iN use, no visual settiNgs to lower. Overworks your battery & struggles to stay chargiNg while app is iN use, no visual settiNgs to lower. This also depletes your device’s overall battery life, yet it’s a “free Game”. Microsoft & Blizzard EntertaiNment need to implement visual/video adjustment options, because the only settiNg you can adjust is audio. Seems like a fraudulent, corrupt, exploit8ive busiNess dealiNg, & I don’t appreci8 Apple allowiNg it & not challengiNg it, forciNg necessary implement8ion(s) to reduce battery usage & overall reduction of battery life of devices. Of course it’s universal to all App Stores, not just Apple, but this proves mass negligence & ignorance to misleadiNg apps like Warcraft Rumble that encourage iN-Game purchases, yet they never upd8/improve their app to favor the user & their device. Are people really this money hungry & resortiNg to penny piNchiNg, immorally & impurely, exploitiNg people, their devices, & companies? Such a shame the world we live iN now, everyone tryiNg to profit while ignoriNg peoples’ needs & beiNg iNhumane. Sick
Keeps you in until endgame. I started playing this game a few weeks after launch. Seemed entertaining as a previous WOW player. Game puts a twist on the other card royale game. I bought so many packs to level up my cards as soon as i could. Just to try to beat the final boss. Took me months of attempts all the while buying boosts. Finally beat the game and was left with a feeling of “what now?” Sure there is PVP and dungeons. But you need to be in a very active guild and on at the same time to be able to run those. Maybe implementing some kind of PUG function would fix that. The low guild member limit also plays a part in that. Maybe having more guild members allowed would help you find a dungeon run. I never was able to run any dungeons because my guild was on at different times even tho the guild was full. Decided to delete the game and quit after 11 months and $900 later. Sure the game was fun but it didn’t feel rewarding to me.
Fun at first. To be honest the game play is fun and when things are even it’s a good game. But they advertise this as a game you never have to pay to play, which again is technically true. But once you reach the middle stages it becomes nearly impossible to progress without spending money or months and months just grinding endlessly. Except that as you grind you need more of everything but don’t really get much more so progression goes from slow to glacial. And to top it all off when playing against others they base it purely on your score to make things “fair”. Except they don’t keep the power levels fair. So we might both be at the same score level but the other person paid to power level their minis which means that truly no matter what I do I have no hope of winning and therefore no hope of progressing. The game stops being fun when you have no hope of winning against other ppl regardless of skill and when progression outside of PvP is so slow as to be non-existent. Conclusion: Fun game at first, but unless you want to pay you will eventually hit a wall that takes all the joy out of the game
Exceptionally mid tier. I had high hopes for this game. I’ve been playing Clash Royale since it came out and I’ve been looking for something to replace it. I thought this game would be it but unfortunately it is not. From the get go it barely piqued my interest and I felt I had to power through the tutorial. Barely any explanation as to how counters work or what the card types are. You pretty much just keep spamming cards until someone spams more. The only level of strategy is the miner you put out to get more gold in order to out spam your opponent. Personal gripe here that I can’t see the whole battlefield at once and have to constantly keep scrolling around, makes hard to really anticipate and play your opponent. Game loop is this; place a troop, scroll up to see enemy, oh they played a card in this lane, scroll down, place my card in that same lane to fight their card, scroll up, oh they placed another card in another lane, scroll down, place a card in that lane, repeat this process for the next 3 minutes until someone wins. The other sad part is that I’m early on and I can already see how the micro transactions will only get worse the longer you play. The game is quick to shove a bunch of progression at you at the beginning to make you feel good but that will wear off and the real progress will rely on how much you’re willing to pay. The game is still on my phone but each time I open it I lose all motivation to play.
Very fun mobile game to scratch that Warcraft itch. Been playing since thanksgiving and bought the booster and a few of the cheap packs ($40 total spent). I have a daily average of ~1 hour and it’s great. People complain about how slow it is but it’s a mobile game and you’re suppose to play it slow. Like during your lunch break or when you’re sitting on the toilet or when you’re in the parking lot of market basket and you tell your spouse that it’s super busy inside but you just wanna get away from your two toddlers. I’ve bought games for consoles and PCs for more than I’ve spent on this game and they have been significantly worse. Sure, there’s bugs. Okay, yes, whales (people that spend a lot on micro-transactions) ruin your PvP experience, but that doesn’t happen unless you’re good at PvP and over 3k rated. Also, PvP is like 1/4 the game. The campaign is great and the dungeons are great. Except the second boss of Gnomeregan, god, electrocutioner 6000 is a see you next Tuesday. I do not understand the mentality of people who spend money on mobile games or complain about having to spend money on mobile games. You are literally paying money to finish the game faster. Isn’t the whole point to waste time so you don’t have to think about how the awful reality is? Anyways 7/5 with rice
100% Pay to Win in later levels. Most of the good reviews are from folks that did not get to later levels. Albeit it’s a great game at start but then it’s just gets ridiculous fast. Ex. A blackrock level starts with 24 coins worth of minis already on the board for AI. Another near undercity starts out with around 18 coins of mini on the board. Not to mention both start the board 4 levels above me. Only way to level? Beat new zones and areas. The only way to do that once your at the above section - you got it - the store. But what irritates me the most - let’s not make it challenging because we have folks on the payroll that have played this game to the point of being masters and make a really good go of it, but instead let’s just make it completely unbalanced so that you have to spend cash to go any farther. IMHO you can’t get any lower than that. Blizz has gone from a group of gamers that have become developers making great games to accountants that have become developers who are in it for the money and that is it. Activision actually started because developers who were gamers did not want to end up corporate machines and also wanted to get credit for their work - it was a passion then and the games reflected that. Now’s it’s an ATM - such a shame to see something so great fall so far.
Blizzard just trying to make as much money as possible. The game is completely pay to win for the normal person. You can’t not play this game competitively and have the game balanced. I played a COMP GAME and the other players towers had a whole extra level on me! HOW IS THAT BALANCED. You have to either played a ludicrous amount or pay a crazy amount to unlock the talents for all your guys. I qued for a ranked comp game the other player was a higher level then me??????? How is that even make sense, competitive games are suppose to be balanced where the players have equal chance but if you don’t have anything unlocked you need to grind in a system that does not favor the better player. I’ve been playing since launch and still don’t have everything unlocked. The game plays great and has a lot of cool features but it’s clear this game is all about generating cash for 99% of the players. pVE is the only fun part about this game but I’m giving it a 1 star because blizzard takes your money from you unethically in this game. The shop is full of scams and overpriced level boosts. So lame. Please do better or just give me a job and I can fix your awful business model. L
Nah. Not enjoyable. The game guides you pretty well but it sort of boasts how great the PvP is until you actually have to PvP. The first two PvP games will put you against players who are just as new as you are. You’ll probably win and you’ll feel great!! But then your 3rd PvP match comes… and it puts you with someone who will rush you in a matter of seconds. My 3rd, 4th, and 5th game had me against players who pretty much walked thorough my entire team and took my tower in like 30 seconds and it wasn’t enjoyable anymore. Then after 3 losses in a row it will considers you a beginner once more. All of your progress is back to zero. So you’re matched with another player who just downloaded it. So you’ll win two and think you’ve made a comeback … up until game 3,4,5 again. Either matchmaking is so dead that it’s forcing you to play with people wayyyyy beyond your league or the matchmaking is so broken that after your initial beginner games it’s just a grab bag of who you go against and that’s the worst way to ever create a competitive PvP game. This game will be dead in a few weeks once the blizzcon hype settles. It was cool to demo it at blizzcon but now that I’m home and playing, the PvP gap is just way too steep. It’s a no from me. Uninstalled and uninterested. 🤷♂️
Technical issues practically impossible to report. I start the game only to have the pink haired pilot with the missing tooth say “By the bolts of Mekkatorque! It worked!” And nothing on the screen I press would allow me to skip. I go to Blizzard tech section on their website to report, and only get recommended solutions for this unrelated problem only to go around in circles. Am I not allowed to report an issue? Do you not want feedback to fix problems so you can make money off of me? I only spent $5000+ on Diablo immortal, and want to play a different game for a change of scenery. This is the only place I can even write about an issue, about an issue and won’t get to the original point about my issue because this isn’t the place to report that issue! The place to report it is NOT USER FRIENDLY! Oh wait… you got a freebee from my frustrations. My report about my issue is at the top… anyway, I can’t play the game. You won’t be able to make money off of me if I see something devilishly tempting to buy, not from anyone else that has this issue. It was fun typing this because it was the only entertainment I was able to get from downloading this game. I’ll remove this post when you decide to fix it.
Great until…. I was anticipating this game quite a bit until I finally got to play it and it definitely delivered. If you are a Warcraft fan or not you will still enjoy this game a lot until. The references Blizzard does to the Warcraft universe are lovely. The battles are fun until. The game play is fun until. Now you’re probably wondering why all does untils are well here goes. You WILL get to a point where you won’t enjoy the game anymore unless you spend a lot of money. You WILL get to a point in the game where you need to spend in order to progress decently. You will get to a point in the game that you will feel stressed out if you DONT spend. This seems to be the formula for a lot of great games out there right now and it’s just become overwhelming. It’s hard to relax and enjoy the game for longer than 30 minutes although within those 30 minutes it will be fun it will funny and chaotic but the feeling that you HAVE to spend money to ENJOY the game will always be in the back of your head. Great game until… it’s not.
Recent update——. Generally, I’d be taking time to make a review somewhere between 4&5 stars based on minor issues or glitches and how well the game generally performs. A few other factors like gameplay or ability to customize decks. However, this is not that kind of review. As of the very last update the game’s stability has hit an all-time-low. At least on my end, game loads to 45% then asks to reconnect to server, proceeds to 100% then auto reconnects over and over. Server connectivity is definitely their issue, but seeing as it has been broken for the last 48+ hours, I’ll probably quit from here. I didn’t quite complete the game but got close enough lol. Blizzard successfully killed their own game much faster than they generally do. The real question is, going forward, do you even invest anything else into this game. Since the log in reliability has dropped over 90% since the start of August. The most depressing thing about this review, blizzard used to QC most patches for their games. Since becoming Activision Blizzard, I feel quality has became subpar at best.
Rumble on!. Really fun game right from the start. Easy for all ages yet has enough depth to become very competitive. I love building teams while also being able to choose and unlock known heroes throughout the Warcraft universe. I think the pace of the game is fun so far and the mechanics on each map help spice things up. It’s a breath of fresh air to play this mobile game and I’m sure some will try and compare to “Clash Royal” but this game is really on it’s own level. The sound effects, music, and interfaces are all FLAWLESS. It’s what you would expect from Blizzard and more. I am really looking forward to dungeons, raids, and PvP. I hope they expand upon these modes and build progression systems that have depth and strategy to them. I also hope they add more customization to the teams you build. Overall this is a fantastic game that anyone can enjoy. You don’t need to know everything about World of Warcraft to get started. However, having played WoW makes it all that much better!! Familiar characters, areas, and abilities in a brand new incredible game that is filled with action and mechanics that keep you interested in what’s going to happen next. Highly recommend this game.
Such a shame.. First off I’m not opposed to gatcha games. In fact I like to support them also and dolphin when they are well designed and balanced. I want to give five stars for what it could have been. But unfortunately unless you are willing to pay thousands of dollars to buff your characters up this game is pointless. The P2W format in this game favors paying players way too much. I’m not oppose to them favoring paying players, because they should in all honesty. But to what degree. This game could have been an amazing game if they balanced the pvp better. Unfortunately as a F2P you will get matched up with whales that out level you by a landslide and it destroys the fun this game could have been. Such a shame to see games that could have been great, and could have profited a ton more in the long run if they had been designed to value your F2P player or even dolphins. But this game is only for the wealthy who will get tired of it because it gets boring because they have everything already. Then the game will die out. Gatcha developers need to learn how to value the F2P because they are a majority of the community and what keep the paying players actually into the game if they keep it competitive. Final Fantasy WOTV so far seems to have done the best job of balancing F2P with P2P. RIP Warcraft Rumble, you could have been great.
Great game, when it works. First, very much enjoy the game. I primarily play PvE. The guild system works, could be a bit better with slightly larger guilds. To the “when it works” Several members of my guild as well as myself had trouble logging in for several days during the recent event, missing out on individual rewards as well as collecting rewards for the guild as a whole. The fix was completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Not a complete fix, still have loading issues occasionally. We noticed this after the most recent update. The raids can be hit or miss as to whether or not you raid invite shows in the guild. Much better than when they first released, but still glitchy. For now, I cannot play against Heroic Inquisitor Whitemane, it just fails to load. Which is a problem, as an Undead victory is all that is needed to complete Lordaeron. 3 stars seems fair. If they fixed a few of the more prevalent issues, 4 stars easy. Possibly 5, if they can stop introducing bugs with large patches. *Edit: Recent update fixed some of the issues. Adjusted to 4 stars.
No effort of expansion. I’ve had a lot of fun with Warcraft Rumble, but once you’ve cleared all the areas, the game feels like it runs out of steam. It’s not only restricted to a small selection of zones, but after that, there’s really nothing else meaningful to do. The events, while a nice idea, end up feeling the same and repetitive over time. The Warcraft universe is massive, with countless continents and worlds already built into WoW on PC—Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Shadowlands, Dragon Isles, and more. Rumble has such huge potential to tap into that richness. Imagine progressing through new campaigns across these continents, each with fresh challenges, bosses, and strategies to master. Expanding beyond the limited areas would keep players engaged long-term, give us more variety than repeating the same events, and make the game feel like a true mobile counterpart to the Warcraft universe. As someone who’s already defeated everything the current version offers, I’d love to see this game grow into the endless adventure it deserves to be.
Legitimately Good. I don’t like mobile games. I actually wish I could play this on my pc. I try mobile games all the time because of their convenience, but never stick with them. I just don’t like playing games on my phone for a number of reasons that I won’t get into. This game, however, is very good. I’m not very good at it yet, as I’m getting used to its more unique nuances compared to similar games, but I’m always able to eventually pass a mission I get stuck on without having to spend money or grind for hours. It’s fun to play, it’s quick, and it’s adorable. The perks in other games from it are appreciated as always. Nice work, Blizz. I do get stuck on 50% loading sometimes when launching. It’s usually bypassed by forcing an update check in the App Store or restarting my phone, but it would be super cool if that got fixed soon. Otherwise the connection seems to be pretty good. I’ve only disconnected while on reliable wi-fi maybe twice over the last couple days. It doesn’t seem to be able to hold a connection to the servers if another app has taken priority for more than maybe 30 seconds, but I’m pretty sure that’s just the phone.
Working better! Needs more competitive PvP. If they added global exp from mini (mobs) trading and changed the way chests drop items: gold/exp and added a boss middle which gave a buff +gold and changed the position of towers or requirements on tower order like other moba game so people actually contested them this game could be fit for ESports arena. I’d also love to see a 2v2 and 3v3 competitive more with more objectives and towers that can manage big pushes you’d see this game spike for a lot of players looking to jump away from league. This game is simple right now which makes it fun but so was LoL at first and as it got better and the content became more advanced yet simple the game took over. This game needs to advance strategically because atm you just rush right side and drop unbound for gold points and everyone is using the same mobs isolating the meta to very few minis. You need to create reason for other minis to shine and objectives and power dynamics helps with balancing. Game has the potential to be amazing as long as blizzard pulls back on this horrible pay wall opens it up to free to play and focuses on map and character skins vs. A horrible pay wall! WARNING: pay wall is very bad!!!
Really bad. If you enjoy games that are loaded with bugs this game is for you. If you enjoy games where “progression” means almost nothing then this game is for you. Have fun grinding “quests” only to have all those quests scale with your account so that all your effort amounts to next to nothing. Pvp levels are capped at level 1. Honestly there is no point in leveling anything up in this game, your only reward will be more grinding in the same zones to level the same characters only to have everything scale with your level anyway. There is no point in this game. Its repetitive, and no amount of time or effort or even money for that matter will ever get you actually anywhere in the game. Its fun at first, give it a play through, but it is buggy, the pathing is shoddy at best, but the first time you play a zone or level it can be fun, by the 20th time in that zone it gets old. The only reward for beating a new zone is that it gets added into the pool for quests that scale with your level anyways. I gave it a solid try, but it just has no lasting enjoyment at all. Uninstalled before the first season ended.
Fun game but needs some fixes. The game is a lot of fun and definitely has potential. The minis are good, the gameplay is fun and gives me back days when crash royal was fun. I’ll keep playing for sure. It’s a new game so balance will still be added to some minis. However, there are glaring problems that need to be fixed. Blizzard continues to have lag and game crashes in this game just like Diablo 4. Their team in charge of those features cannot get it right. The last thing that needs to change is how the PVE AI play their troops. There isn’t strategy on the pve side. They just have no gold restraints and can have up to 50 gold on the board while you have 10. Most levels you start against about 20 gold on the board. Blizzard is almost a requirement due to the amount of troops they can throw on the board just to kill most of them off. It would be more fun to also limit the AI gold and give them better strategy. If they don’t fix this the game will die for anyone playing the PVE aspect. At about 40 digits this becomes a huge problem.
Worst game. More p2w packs than the actual game contents. Leveling has no meaning as after 1-2 maps, the enemy out levels you again. Only 1 randomly picked mini gets any exp after a run, which fills only 1% of what it needs to level up, so basically can’t even grind. Only way to level up is with cash, which a couple dozens of bucks only takes you 2-3 more maps. Too many traps being sold that are aimed to fake users with no way to revert it and takes tremendous amount to fix. Everything is randomized and need to pay to reroll; everything that can be retried and the user may use reroll to their advantage is fixed. All maps starting at a losing stage, all map gimmicks are designed against the player. Strategy takes no place as only 1-2 level difference already destroys any compatibility. Game forces you to level at least five out of six regions and you’re stuck from advancing if you miss on any one of them, but it takes 6 weeks rotation to even consider leveling as all leveling contents whether paid or pve are blocked for that period. That is just the pve portion that any new player will confront at day 1. Wouldn’t even consider playing unless you’re willing to spend hundreds(if that even gets you anywhere) or planning to go slow and unlock a new stage every few weeks. Sincerely wish Blizzard would go back to its game craftsmanship instead of making empty nutshells asking for fast cash.
Money grab. Played for a month. Was fun, then hit the talked about impassible wall. It’s designed to beat you down so you’ll open you’re wallet. I don’t mind micro transactions, if they make sense. This is just fleecing people. You get to certain encounters with an army you like, then have to switch armies to something you may not be playing because it will do better in that particular fight. Problem is those minis are so low level that you’ll spend another month to get them on the level, even with buying xp. PvP will match you with players completely out of your league (on purpose it seems), to give you a beat down, again so you’ll spend money. No explanations of boss mechanics, you think your on your way to a win and be completely wiped because of a surprise mechanic or ability. Rewards for just playing are so minimal it may as well not be there. Thursdays and Sundays are the only time you can earn real gold. Guild rewards are easily earned in about two weeks and then there’s nothing to do or work for. Overall, the gameplay is fun, but the progress grind is incredibly frustrating and debilitating. The way to win, it seems, is to just be 2-3 levels above the bosses. And even that’s hard to do, even with buying xp.
Fun game, IAP issues everywhere. The game is great, it’s fun and the in app purchases where targeted don’t feel scammy or overly priced. The only real issues is the abysmal integration of in-app purchases. The game regularly crashes, or resets when the menu comes up to purchase something. I’ve purchased and not received several items and performed all expected operations (restarting phone, restarting app, reinstalling, etc) nothing has worked and Blizzard offers no support other than to tell you to do those things then auto closes to the tickets. I’d recommend the game, but suggest you do a hard pass on anything with real value in the game until they fix the issues seemingly everyone is having from Reddit to other fansites with the in-app purchases. I’m running the latest iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) with iOS 17, so I’m not skimping on tech and as mentioned hundreds of others on Reddit and Twitter are mentioning the same issues across multiple device families.
This game is no longer being actively developed or relieving new content updates.. The core concept has been very fun and a deep love for the Warcraft universe kept me coming back as a casual; free to play player. Unfortunately, Blizzard decided to turn it into another mobile cash grab, making it incredibly grindy for players not willing to spend real money on upgrades. I might have considered that if it wasn't for the literal endless amount of bugs that popped up with every single content update that just showed the sheer incompetence or lack of effort in trying to turn Rumble into a meaningful mobile game. On top of that, you had to go out of your way into the Discord server for the game to see any kind of news or updates because this company that's been around since the 90s couldn't figure out how to share vital information within the game. The cherry on top is they announced (outside of the game) that it is no longer in "active development" which means there's no new content coming to this already sparse game and it's basically on life support (still full of bugs) but they'll happily keep taking your hard earned money in-game without telling you that caveat. Shame on you Blizzard. What a waste of time and potential this game turned out to be after a year.
Used to be my all time favorite game.. First off, I’ve been playing this game since it came out. I have played this game more than any game I’ve ever played. In the beginning, they had some issues (expectedly) but they did a really good job at improving. This game is extremely fun to play. Still is. The problem is that the bugs have become a huge issue. I’m not receiving my tomes, gold, rewards, etc. When you login it only allows you to receive 1 unclaimed reward at a time. The problem with this is that for a month now I’ve been playing about 5 or 6 hours a day. So we are talking 4 or 5 tomes a day that I’m not receiving for a month. Then opening the app and only being compensated for on tome or whatever the reward might be. This is a major subject in the forums and Blizzard has claimed to fix this but that is simply not true. Tomorrow I will try to contact support and see what happens but I doubt anything will. I’m seeing multiple people complaining that they are being told by customer support that their unclaimed tomes have been claimed when it’s obvious they haven’t.
I love the game I just hate the frequent issues. Right now, I got to open the app and it goes to the first load screen then a download screen, which should then lead to the game opening up… nope back to the first load screen then the second and and endless loop… it has happened twice now in just the last couple of weeks. There’s also a lot of bugs with the recent update and the quests for the dark moon faire. Which is a special event. They don’t register you completing them, the don’t count kills when it supposed to and it is just frustrating. They did start raids recently but I refuse to do a whole lot of research to figure out what leader and minis I need to kill certain bosses. If I wanted to do that kinda thing I would just turn my WoW account back on after all this time away, that could be fun, but I’ve got other stuff irl I need to do instead. This game was my little something to do during a short bit of down time. Fix the game so no more bugs or special research needed to do raids and I’ll give a 5
Horrible New Player Experience. I logged into a new account today. I’ve played since launch and have a max level (51) account and wanted to try it again from scratch. So I made a new account and I beat the first level.. can’t collect the gold reward. Tried the second sane thing cannot collect the gold rewards. I complete the first zone and after defeating Hogger I was able to select a new mini but still could not collect the gold from the first 4. After selecting the mini it also leveled me to level 2 for the account which it said it was giving a gold reward. The game gave me an error pop up window and yet again no gold. How is a new player supposed to buy minis from the GRID and advance in the game without the gold. I’m not opening my wallet again on this new account when the game clearly is cheating me out of 170g at level 2. I already cannot collect the gold from completing the heroic campaign on my main account. This must be the sign I was looking for to move on from the game. Several hundred hours and several hundred dollars later I have learned my lesson.
Can’t get past loading screen. This game is very fun. There is a paywall, sure, but if you love Warcraft or WoW then you can get past it. However, there is a bug that Blizzard hasn’t addressed with iOS version of this game. The bug is you get stuck at the initial loading screen of the game and it loops the loading screen back to back. It’ll load, get to 100%, then go back to loading the game from the beginning, as if you reopened the app or something. I have the latest version of iOS, as well as the latest version of Warcraft Rumble. I haven’t been able to play for weeks and this issue has been all over social media pages for this game, so the game developers certainly know about it and haven’t commented or addressed the issue. ALSO, if you decide to play and can get past the loading screen…MAKE A BLIZZARD ACCOUNT AND/OR LINK WARCRAFT RUMBLE TO YOUR ACCOUNT! I haven’t had this issue, as I linked it right away. However, I have heard many nightmare stories about people having to delete the app, reinstall to fix the bug, and they lose all their months and months of daily progress, as well as losing all the hundreds or thousands of dollars they spent on the game. Nothing the game developers can do to recover your account if it’s not linked.
Eh. Honestly, this game is really fun. I’ve been following the Warcraft franchise from Warcraft II and it’s fun to play with the characters I grew up with. The art is fun, graphics are good, gameplay is challenging and rewarding. My one negative point is that the pay walls to get through story mode and the vast advantage pay to play players have in PVP. One minute your playing along and the next 15 matches you play it’s zero contest. Their minis are all leveled and have multiple perks( available only if you keep paying for packs and for gold to by mini upgrades). If you can spend the money, go ahead! If your broke like most of us, honestly just play until you can’t. I’ve spent ~$50 and I might as well have not spent a dime with the progress it got me. EDIT: since my last post I spent another $50 on various upgrade packs, and I was doing alright in PVP and on the hard mode stages. Hit a paywall in PVE, new update comes out and PVP is immediately flooded with PTW people. This game is so fun but I cannot afford to pay to be competitive. Good luck, have fun, but I’m deleting this game.
A world-class autobattler held back by budget cuts. I’ve been playing Rumble consistently since its launch while I was in line at Blizzcon. It’s a truly top-tier system with interesting PvE encounters, a solid variety of units, and progression & monetization that respect the player’s time much more than its peers in the F2P mobile world. I’m not sure whether it’s this respect (and some presumable mtx cash left on the table) or general ineptitude at the executive level, but unfortunately the team has seen at least one big downsizing and continued budget tightening. This, combined with a decently fast content release schedule, has resulted in rampant bugginess, with soft crashes and startup bugs recurring anytime a nontrivial patch goes live. I enjoy my time with Rumble immensely, and have spent a decent chunk of money on it due to that earned respect that I have not spent on other mobile “strategy” games. I don’t know who needs to hear this in the Microsoft Games/Blizzard hierarchy, but please fund your teams and give them a stable, secure space to work their magic.
Unfair AI and bland pvp. Ontop of insta-countering player actions, the AI also starts off maps with scathing advantages. To the point that you need to be atleast 2 levels higher in order to even put up a fight. And even if you are staying in with more base hp than the AI, the match times out to a ‘draw’ (loss) very rapidly. Gold makes such a ridiculous difference in pvp too that getting even 1 or 2 more gold than the other player very quickly spirals into an unrecoverable pubstomp. All my wins correlate. All my losses correlate. At that point it’s no longer playing for objectives but rather who can kill the enemy miners more efficiently. Also it’s p2w. The reviews saying it isn’t are blatant lies. What it isn’t, is “exclusive content” from payments- although you “can” get everything in those packs f2p at some point… it’s months and months later based on the content available. The game limits your gold gains and the only way to obtain any past first clears of story mode is the arclight events… 400g total per week. Oh wow. So amazing. When i can buy a 15$ pack for a Rare quality leader that would other wise be a 3 month long grindfest MINIMUM… yeah totally not p2w… oh and sylvanas (the 15$ rare pack leader) singlehandedly obliterates everything in pvp btw so totally balanced. Doesnt even NEED support units.
Pretty good game. So, whether you like Warcraft or not, it’s a fun game. It doesn’t have the complexity of some of the other strat games out there, but that’s what makes this one great. There isn’t a huge and arduous intro, and it doesn’t feel as planned as other games. The pick up and play feel is great. The difficulty ratios aren’t super fine tuned and the grind can get very grindy. I found myself getting stuck at certain places for a while with a random breakthrough that then allowed me to move forward. That might be the intent so you buy coins. But you can be successful without spending anything. I’d love to see more daily login reward and other activities to build xp or earn gold. Also, the Arclight events have been buggy since the last update. That’s your main source of good day to day. Sometimes is says an arclight is surging and nothing happens. Other times I get no notification and there’s two of them. And one day there was a bug that let you do them an unlimited amount of times. Either way, bugs aside - it’s a solid 4/5. With some rebalancing and increased things to do it’s a 5 all the way.
Difficulty scales too fast in the early game. If you like the reverse tower defense kind of games you might like this just be warned the difficulty ramps excessively fast. I got to about level 10 and started having trouble so I decided to go back to the earlier levels to grind a bit. I was not expecting to steam roll them, but I was not expecting the very first level of the game to completely destroy me over and over. There are a lot of people who have come to enjoy it and maybe I’m just bad at this type of game. However, I personally found it very unenjoyable, and it felt akin to go to being pressure to look at the cash shop to buy power. Now even if you lose you still get some power but it is a slow trickle. It would be the kind of thing I would expect if I was mid game or later not very early on. Once more a more skilled player could probably do it easily, but I felt the difficulty ramps way too fast for someone in learning or a casual player. I would, however, be open checking in a year from now to see if anything changed.
Still early. I’ve been looking for a game like this! It’s like Clash Royale, hearthstone, and command&conquer had a baby🥹. Purely talking about the game, it’s excellent. I enjoy playing it… maybe a little too much 🤷🏻♂️. BUT there are some issues I’ve experienced so far. I’m very aware that this game is brand new and just came out, so I’m not holding it against the Devs, but there have been quite a few crashes mid PvP battles, dungeon excursions, and during the campaign; with that said, it's gradually getting better I’ve noticed. The Biggest🔴 issue was that I purchased a loot pack from the in-game store and received nothing but was still charged😅. I’ve contacted support, and they seem to be actively helping, which is good, but after talking with them, I received the Gold💰but not the troop packs that the bundle advertised, which is a bummer and odd. Other than those issues, I love the game so far and will continue playing as I’m a Hearthstone player and enjoy a different way to interact with the characters I’ve been using for years now.
Do not get this game unless you love spending money.. I’ve had this game roughly since launch and I would absolutely not recommend it. The game seems flashy and fun at times, and it’s exciting to win, but the more you play, the less you win, and by wider and wider margins. The AI opponents in this game are overwhelmingly difficult, even when you’ve played a long time. Strategy completely goes out the window when the game sends endless waves of enemies at you (Blizzard claims the AI has the same amount of money you do, but with five seconds of observing the game, you’ll see the AI has a limitless gold supply). The game starts out feeling a bit like a puzzle game, finding the best strategies to beat bosses and work around other players in PvP. But this drops off after a certain point and players are actually punished both for trying new teams and for sticking to their reliable teams. The game constantly gives you incentives to spend money, and I’m sad to say that I’ve spent a fair bit on this game. It seems exciting, getting that dopamine hit of leveling a leader or unlocking a new mini…until you realize that leveling up one character just makes the entire game harder across the board. Like I said earlier, this game wants players to spend money, but punishes them for getting better. I would never, ever recommend this game, based on this alone.
Fun but becomes P2W. It’s a great game at first. I progressed through it and had fun playing. You get to a point where you get stuck in the campaign because of difficulty and have to level up your minis, either through xp or star power. Leveling up through xp requires the grind of quests which is basically redoing levels you’ve already done before. Gets tedious, repetitive, and annoying for such little xp gain. The other way to improve is leveling up star power through the shop. This costs gold. And the game loves gold and does not want to give you any. You get some from the campaign but when you get stuck in the campaign, there’s no other gold resource except paying money to get gold. So basically you get to a point where you either grind endlessly on the same levels over and over or spend money to rank up minis. It was fun until I got to this point, but since I don’t want to do either of these things, I stopped playing. The game really needs to provide some type of regular gold generation.
Could be great if it was stable. It almost pains me to write this review, because this game has so much potential for greatness. Great art direction, animation, audio, and the gameplay itself (when working) is quite fun, with much more potential for strategy than some other top-down “rush” style games. Unfortunately, none of this matters because Warcraft Rumble is the buggiest, most crash-prone mobile game I have ever played since the dawn of the smartphone. PVP is meant to be the core of the game, but instead is an exercise in frustration. Simply trying to start a PVP match results in multiple crashes, sometimes back to the title screen, sometimes completely out of the application. If you DO manage to get into a match, and stick with it long enough to win, your reward is often another crash. This has been the case for weeks, despite multiple patches, and with Blizzard having recently laid off over a thousand of the very people who made their games successful, I hold very little hope of this situation turning around. It’s a real shame, because some talented people put hard work into this game and it appears to have been left to die on the vine.
Skip intro is a lie. Blizzard again gaslighting and manipulating children from the very beginning. Oh sure, a whole button that says skip the intro when you download, but I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app tens of times and it’s never worked, I’ve been forced to watch their diversity hire nonsense over and over. My main issue is that this app is pay to win, it’s not even a game, it’s a business tool used by adults to manipulative children into thinking it’s a fair and skill based game, but like all apps on the Apple store, it’s not like it used to be where a game was an actual game, now business tools are designed to look like games, and frustrate and manipulate children into spending money. On top of that when you download the game, it then prompts you to download even MORE data thus lying to us about how big the app size is. It’s the new industry lie standard, and Apple is at the forefront of it all, allowing and enabling it. Then you have the problem with adult content in the kids game, the chicken for example is saying “come on motherf****r.” And if you try to bring it up in the blizzard forums, their censorship team immediately removed the narrative about it. Blizzard is not an American company.

Tried and gave up. I played for a bit, even spent a little money to give it the benefit and best chance to impress me. Even with spending money the increase in difficulty at certain levels (likely designed to get you to spend money), prevent in game being enjoyable after about 10 to 15 minutes. If you are looking for an enjoyable game that does not frustrate you unless you spend a lot of money, then this is not the game for you. I might change my mind if the developers balance the game better.
Disconnected too many times. Unfortunately, I have to give this game a 1 star rating due to the number of disconnects incurred durning game play, more specifically at the end after I have defeated a boss the game disconnects without reasoning and without giving me any rewards after defeating the boss. It leaves me wondering why it only disconnects at that stage of the game and not earlier. I have tried resetting my tablet and reinstalling the game, however the disconnection issues are still unfortunately unresolved.
Ridiculously Boring Game. This game is absurdly boring. What’s that? You want gameplay? Nah, you just want on-rails formula where you place piece, piece do work, piece die. Progression? Okay, but play everyday, remember how the silly micro transaction system works, spend money, and maybe you’ll improve just enough to get to the next level. Speaking of micro transactions, Blizzard will do anything to make it seem like they’re unique, but it’s more of the same: spend money on a chance to be better, but never any guarantees. Oh, and if you do spend money, expect to have to come back every single day to extract the most value of it, otherwise expect to lose it. Bad game from a bad company. To be fair, I’m the bad one for believing it could have been any different.
Please do test before launch the updates. After this latest updates, the game is crushed again and again…it’s all day and still not fixed. Since I play this game, every big update always comes with bugs…Please, blizzard does some tests before you launch the update. Very disappointed
Itis a joke. It is the first time everI write a review for an app\game on google/app store. This game is genuinely a disaster, it is a nightmare. I think 5-10 people are working in an office for this game if what I ve been through is a “bug”. You cannot explain to me why I don’t see Orgrim in he GRID (which is basically random mini store to buy “stars” for your minis, and stars are the “ingredient” to “upgrade” them) although I recycled the GRID at least 20 times and spent at least 10k gold. I just need 1 star more to pop him to legendary and I have never ever seen him once for the last week (which is a horde heroes week btw). Could this be relative to “orgrim offers” happens to be showing in the store? Maybe. Maybe its a bug. You cannot tell if these people are just greedy or incapable to fix a simple bug. I can’t reach to “help” section for somehow that is why I am writing this comment here, which is my actually first ever app/game comment on any store for any app/game. It is a disaster. Go play clash of clans.
Great fun. This game is great fun. I’ve been playing it for a few weeks now. The basic gameplay works really well. Levels get harder as you level up meaning it often takes me a few try’s to beat. I love the arclight challenges which make it worthwhile to relay old levels with a fun new twist. I haven’t paid for anything yet and have had so much fun playing I might in the future. This game is simple enough to pick up but has a surprising amount of depth.
Scam game. Capped by Pay to play/win just like the rest.. Once you get in level 40’s it’s extremely hard to advance. You need to do a ton of quests to level your heroes (talking 100’s maybe 1000’s of repetitive action) just to increase their stats slightly. You need coins in order to buy more heroes, give heroes abilities and get a higher ‘collection level’. A collection level gives more quest bonus to heroes. But the xp required to level up hero is dramatically increased each time. Only way to play this is by putting money and a lot of time into it. The game is rigged. Don’t bother. Also servers don’t even work. Constantly kicked from PVP lowering score. Waste of time
Great game but still littered with bugs. Game is super fun, but its ruined by the constant crashing of the game, especially with PVP. Pretty disappointing since this has been reported by a lot of people yet we are still here having the same issues.
Before my last review... iPhone 15 performance was dreadful, battery life, overheating.. all the things you could think of going wrong with this app. i then wrote a review, about a week later they updated the game and it now loads a lot faster, to now get 4 stars instead of 1! but you can do better optimisation team! significant performance increase! still taking too though :( i play this daily and i can still say the 15-20 second boot time, it may be longer. random dc’a? all this is startng to make it boring a also why is there no concept of floor? i notice frustratingly my targets will get beaten up on certain levels through the floor? just leaving me wanting to cry! 😂 we soldier on though, for the horde! also nerf margot regards, brownoxblusox
Exceptionally pay to win. A constant stream of alerts for bundles in the shop, each costing half a fortune while trying to promote themselves as ‘legendary value’ despite adding little to game. This is due to the exponentially scaling cost of upgrades along with the gatcha game mechanics to try and obtain the upgrades you need. Combine this with increasing difficulty, not through interesting design but instead due to poor mini pathing and deliberate over tuning, the game heavily attempts to force money out of you just to enable you to keep up with it. While it is okay for the first 60 or so levels, the spike in “difficulty” combined with its heavily monetised shop and randomness of upgrades clearly indicates Blizzard sees this game as a micro transaction cash cow and the player base as loot piñatas. To upgrade this rating Blizzard, you can purchase additional stars. $7.49 for the first star, subsequent stars will increase at a rate of x2.5 per star. Still less egregious then unit upgrades.
Too many updates!!. I love this game, it’s super fun and addictive, but I’m over the fact there is an update like every week or even multiple times a week. I like to open the game and play, not have to wait
Is anyone shocked?. Blizzard releasing a broken game set up with the goal of giving you as many ways as possible to give them money. Tutorials forcing you to tap on disabled buttons when you load the game making it completely unplayable, it’s not like they didn’t have the money to bug fix or test it, just a quick cash grab.
Terrible waste of time - a grave insult to gamers. This game is a tedious unfun, waste of time. The entire time I thought “This is not fun” and “Why am I still playing this?” It’s bland and slow in terms of gameplay. Something akin to watching a car crash in slow motion. Somehow it takes a bunch mechanically from other games and somehow makes a worse package than all of them. Blizzard is a joke and I feel like I’ve been spat on by them.
Bugging out after the recent update. Fun mobile game and quiet balanced, except it gets extremely difficult after level 38 and the pace slows right down unless you’re willing to pay. Unfortunately the recent update (4.0) is bugging out the rewards and I’ve missed out on the xp of two tomes. Hopefully this is fixed soon.
Not for Casual gaming.. This game will make you want to Rage. Blizzard don’t just want your money. They expect you to spend every minute of every day grinding in their games for little progress. And now the game crashes at the end of every third game or so. Reinstalling will not stop the game crashing.
Battlenet sign in. I had downloaded the app about a month ago while holidaying in South Korea. I’ve since returned to Australia and now the app is making me sign in with battlenet but takes me to a Korean page which I can’t get pass. Can no longer access my game or account. Help! Would rate 5/5 if I can get back into my account.
Good game with bugs. Great game but it keeps crashing. ESPECIALLY when you start a PVP match. More than 50% of the time! And if you don’t get back in to fight, you loose and drop in rankings. Very unfair when it’s not my fault that I lost. I come back to the game and the opponent is attacking my base and I have to fight an uphill battle… needs to be looked at. Also, your help and support button doesn’t provide any help or support…. Let’s me look at tickets that ive raised but not actually raise a ticket. So I had to raise the issue here.
Fun but.... Very quickly you hit the pay wall... But that's just how so many games are. The real issue is just how buggy it still is. 4 weeks in and still stuck trying to collect a dungeon reward, multiple times you get stuck pressing continue, loading errors.... Just not ready yet.
Fantastic balancing!. It’s rare to see games like this fee balanced but it really is quite well balanced between skill, strategy, luck, and doesn’t feel underconsidered. Love seeing it!
Full of bugs, giving up.. Updates: Have to come back to update and change to lowest star, it just has too many bugs, after invested so much time and money, still deciding to give up and leave the game, as a blizzard fan, feeling very sad that the original blizzard no longer exists. Original review: You can enjoy Warcraft's characters, design is quite good and interesting, however, engineering team seems not doing a good job, a lot of bugs, even got crushed when purchasing.... Not to mention connection issues, slowness on some UI, etc...
Bugs. There is only one day in till these events ends and keep on kicking me out of the when try to claim it if you change this bug five stars if you 2 stars or one star
Still in beta. Feels like later on each stage is going to take forever to level up just to pass unless you pay $$$. slow to build forces and each round timed
I wish maps took longer. Just as I’m starting to get momentum, I win. Just as I let a few enemies through, I lost. There was no chance of recovery. I think the base of both teams should have larger HP pools.
Massive battery drain, difficulty rises too quickly. I love blizzard games, but personally found it not informative enough followed by quickly rising in difficulty from the first round to the ~4-5th. Although I do like that it’s very strategy based. Hopefully in the next 1-2 releases they can optimise battery performance.
Excellent. Really fun. Is strategic and ranges from easy to hard at a learning pace. After quite a while of fun you might hit a tough spot of regions to beat and you'll need to level your minis, and spend time on all the other things the game offers. Experience gains increase for a few battles each day. Honestly for a free game it's top notch!!! I disagree with the negative reviews I read before trying (it's definitely not too hard). By the time it gets quite hard you honestly owe the developers some money anyway... But you don't have to. Great game, download it and try it for yourself.
great game ruined by microtransactions. you pretty much need to drop 100s of dollars to make progress because he need gold to buy units from the shop in order to upgrade them. once you finish the first batch of missions your gold supply runs out and you can only make a few hundred gold a week. a single blue unit it the shop costs 900 gold and you need dozens of copies of it to level it up. the game loop becomes a very slow grind on missions to get xp for your units and eventually you need 1000s per level but inly get 9-35 per mission. its a shame because its pretty fun gameplay. if you just want to do the same thing for hours with little progress or drop 1000s of dollars this game might be for you
Buggy?!?!. Hm well firstly when the loading screen gets to 100% it makes a noise like it’s loaded but nothing happens for quite a while. Then the game froze at the end of the first mission and I had to close the game and re-launch. And then the same first mission (the tutorial) keeps repeating itself over and over when I complete it. ??? Not up to the usual blizzard standard.
Travel game. The quick easy games is really what holds rumble together. Great for in the car, on the road or on the toilet. Haven’t come across the paywall or micro transaction shop yet so will see how it plays out. For now, solid app game.
Pretty Fun. But can be ruined by whales or matchmaking putting you against people several ranks ahead of you. Also there’s a lot of technical problems, initial installation and updates tend to be quite whacky. As well as pvp, I’ll occasionally go to play pvp and will get a crash, then when trying to reopen it the game will get stuck on an infinite loading screen.
Worst and buggy game from Blizzard ever. My advise is if you haven’t started playing this game, then don’t. You’d be facing bugs everyday like the devs have never tested their game on their mobiles. They claim to fix a bug by pushing an update out, then it’ll create a bug somewhere even worse than previous. No compensation for your time loss and money wasted too.
Topical blizzard release. Bad connection (no it’s not my connection). Constant freezes. Game crash on start up. Goes from easy to hard very quick. I’m guessing there pushing for P2W. Once u 4 maps in its a lot harder and u can’t make coin to upgrade just doing quests. Chest are random and select 6 out of every mini and they may not even be the ones you use. If u can’t finish the levels u can’t get gold to upgrade. So ur forced to spend $$$ Support is in some other language so impossible to report anything. Limited to 3 builds in pvp if u use 4 you don’t get the points towards the reward or your rank. Loading times is stupid long. Pvp matchmaking is far from fair. Getting ranked with people 3-8x strong them myself. Nothing strategic about the game it’s all about brut force. More troops/gold Will always win. Unbound minis are rediculous. Just had someone with a whole team plant them on my base tower destroyed before I could even get 2 gold up. Clan point are limited. If u can’t succeed in PvP u can’t gain any points in the clan event. Arc lights surges are 3times a week and are they only other way to get points but it’s limited to 10 level and once there cleared that’s it. Definitely p2w
Game is fun when it works. Addicting to play, with no real energy or time based requirements you can grind away to your hearts content , stylish the xp requirement does get rough after some time. Main issue is that the game randomly just stops loading. 3rd time just this week now, it goes onto a loading screen, hits 100% and then nothing changes. Makes the noise that generally happens when loading is finished and the game loads , but just keeps repeating it. Closing the game completely , leaving it for a couple hours all don’t work. Only fix is to delete and fresh install, which comes with the excess waiting time of re-downloading all the files . Starting to feel the bother isn’t worth the enjoyment of it
Love the game but wish they would be more responsive. Been playing 1-2 weeks.. ABSOLUTE ripper of s strategy game and mixed in with your lore if your a warcraft/blizzard nerd like I am. You can pay your wat but also possible to grind and VERY FUN BIG ISSUE!!! Ever since new patch 2.0 I crash on pressing on dungeon & crash every single game and go into a crash loop Tried re installing Clearing cache Multiple devices THATS HOW BADLY i want to play But no response on my post from Blizz team & no feedback on a fix beside its account specific Some other plays affected HELP US BLIZZ
Very fun. No need to spend. Slow progress to upgrade troops after reaching a certain level.
Love this so far!. Loving it so far, I know it’s early days for the game but I actually can’t believe there isn’t a night elf faction/family. Also looking forward to more leaders :).
Pay to win. Another pay to win. If you aren’t blowing your money you are progressing at a snails pace. Each pvp match you are either decimated or you decimate. The game is unbalanced. If you place gold into the wrong talents it’s going to be a realllly long time before you can change that. Gold is gained incredibly slowly it is the driving factor to being stronger than your opponent. If you’ve got money you want to see go down a drain. Play it.
Game won’t start. When l load the game and watch the cool video, it forces me to watch the whole thing and (and the hold to skip won’t work) this wouldn’t be a problem but it just get stuck on 100% loading screen. I reinstall it and then have to watch it again but still l am not able to load into the game. Please fix this as it seems from other reviews it’s been going on for a few months now.
Great game but…... Enjoy the game, play every day, spent a heap of money, but when every update comes out with bugs and new events that cannot be played it’s really pulling on the delete window more and more. Nerfing or heroes is very disengaging also, make the others stronger rather than nerfing.
Fun game let down by rampant bugs. Title pretty much sums it up. Fun game when it actually works. Non stop bugs just really kills the fun. Can’t get the game to even start and there are quite on all public coms. After around there was a post on discord saying sorry game is going to remain broken ask weekend and we will try to fix it on Monday. Just one of many examples.
Too buggy to play yet. I had to reinstall the game just for it to actually start downloading an update. The game finished downloading it and immediately crashed. Fixed the back end performance before updating flashy stuff. We can’t appreciate the flashy stuff if the game doesn’t work.
Addicted!. Play each day. Great gameplay and brilliant play style. No ads!!!!!!!!!!!! You “could” spend money but you do not feel obliged too in any way. There are some nice real money collections to buy when you first start playing if you are into that. I’ve spent money on this game because I want it to succeed. Devs have done a great job bringing a game into the world that beats most other games of this type. Fun, challenging (but not too challenging) and always feeling like I’m progressing in game. I highly recommend this for Warcraft and yet to be Warcraft fans ;) I even like the PvP as the game time is quite fast and not as frustrating as other PvP games I’ve played. Sure I haven’t levelled very high but it’s great that I can collect points for more minions by playing PvP. The one thing I really like is how there are various ways you feel progression. Leveling minions and leaders. Further Upgrading Leader’s team levels from dungeon runs. Defeating the map and unlocking more of it while also gaining loot in the process. Gaining guild points through play is great and is a long term goal. I highly recommend trying this game for a few weeks. I hope it’s something you can enjoy!
Too difficult. The game holds your hand through the first few missions, but the difficulty skyrockets when you reach Hogger. I tried grinding earlier missions to level up, but the AI enemies just get stronger to match your level. I thought this was going to be a more casual approach to the Warcraft universe, but it’s way too hard and frustrating. Uninstalled…
Thelonewolf. So just started isn’t to bad but does have some connection issues which I noticed but just restarted it and seems pretty good with nice colours and concepts hopefully doesn’t go to a pay to win thing!
Good game. Love playing this game played everyday but had stopped loading on my iPhone & can’t seem to find help to fix the issue but apart from that it’s great.
Frustrating. The foundations of an interesting game is here. The troops, the animation and the levels are all fine. What I don’t like, are some of the game designs that punish the player. This is a game where playing the game earns your troops experience. At the end of a match one of your troops randomly gains exp. The game starts off easy enough. I was able to clear the missions in Westfall on a single attempt. I decided, that before moving onto Redridge that I would grind some experience to level my troops. I quickly discovered that grinding the starter area isn’t feasible. After a few wins, the matches ramped up in difficulty to the point I could no longer win. This is the starter area and I was no longer able to win a match. Why?? Well, Blizzard doesn’t want you farming missions for exp, since you can open your wallet and ‘buy’ exp. It is terrible, anti consumer designed around inconveniencing the player in the hope they will pay. I refuse. I got to the end of Redridge. I couldn’t beat the final boss. Blizzard clearly doesn’t want me to grind exp, so I guess I’ll just stop playing.
Can this work better with mobile data?. This game only runs for me over wifi, using mobile data always pops up errors that it cant get a connection to the server. Nothing wrong with my mobile data btw, works fine with all other apps. Can this be fixed pls pls pls? It not working over mobile data defeats the purpose of me having this game. Otherwise great game, runs really well. Love that the rounds are over in less than 10 mins.
Matthew. I’ve enjoyed playing the game but due to always needing internet from wifi to play I hardly get to play and can never play when out and about. Defeats the purpose of a mobile game if you can’t be mobile. Little most likely continue playing rarely when I’m at home bored .
Pvp is rigged. Pvp is the worst time sink you can image. I’m versing bots all the time. I have minis that mysteriously disappear or don’t even spawn properly. And then they throw in a half arsed opponent bot occasionally that gives up half way through the match to keep you feeling like you’re makes progress. How can you ensure you’re not versing bots??
More exp. More levels. More content. Fun past time even if not spending! Levelling and upgrading minis is the crux of developing and progressing further, gets really interesting into the heroics where strategy and countering mechanics is key! Your collection level impacts the game a lot (the more exp you can gain quickly will benefit in the longer term) PvP match making seems to be the biggest gripe after a solid month of playing You might vs the same person you’ve beaten or lost too consecutively I’ve had this happen both in/out of my favour upwards of 3+ times Searching for opponents only to find the same player? 3/4 wins or losses straight doesn’t seem balanced Arclight surges and heroics are solid additions, though slow for the newer player gold wise, the game doesn’t impart the importance of being ‘gold wise’ The odd crash or freeze, Swipe up and restart it’s not a big issue They offer plenty of bundles … ie complete a heroic region and then check out the store but the game can be played totally free This is Warcraft so might not be everyone’s favourite snack, it’s been a solid addition to the universe and the roadmap is satisfying. This will be a huge game, I can see an easy 100 minis and plenty of Warcraft canon, heroes and fun mechanics My own two cents: This is better then Warcraft reforged and that’s on pc See you in Rumble
Warcraft Rumble First Impeession. Hey guys, I’ve always been a Warcraft/ World of Warcraft fan, but never really enjoyed mobile games. I decided to try Warcraft Rumble and it turns out to be a pretty fun game, as I am only a new player I have experienced all about the game. It’s a minion based game; but there is some strategy to it as you cannot just spam your minions. You get a choice of different minions you can pick and level up, which have unique abilities based on the situation. Although I haven’t seen it I can only assume there is a micro transactions part to this game, as there are two currencies. If I was to play a minions game which I’ve never really enjoyed, I would probably stick with this one. It’s free so give it a try, nothing to lose. Hope you enjoy.

Terrible game masters, in all games. Perma Ban people for nothing. The people who run the blizzard games are unethical, they allow streamers to get people perma banned, also perma ban people for literally nothing.
Fun but pay to win. Great set up and Warcraft stuff but way to much pay to win for me
P2W. Pay to win and unbalanced, waste of time.
Good not amazing but good. The game so far is really nice as long as you do your daily quests to lvl up your troops then you’ll progress slowly but surely although people who pay have a bit of an advantage meaning that they get to spend more gold in the game upgrading their troops What I would suggest is to add a feature in the shop we’re when you reshuffle the shop you can add a option to increase the chance of a certain character like hey I want a higher chance to see this troop in the shop becuase I play with it a lot and so it would show up more frequently allowing you to slowly get what you want instead of waiting around to reshuffle the shop
Very bad balancing…. Game is really fun but the AI is often unbalanced. It is hard to see it at first but while progressing it become often obvious the AI spam minions for a higher cost than what we can have as a player (ex: player has 8 gold and AI spawn minis costing a total of 12 directly; not talking about minis already here when the map start…) In short, fun but balanced by a 5 year grow-up adult…
Unbalanced game p2w. Unbalanced , pvp p2w
Can’t login to game for over a week. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had logging into an app. It’s been 7 days and I still can’t open the game and nothing has been done to address this issue. I’ll change my review accordingly if they ever fix this issue
Won’t open. Crashes on start up. Played intro video then crashed and now app just crashes seconds after opening
So far so good. Haven’t spent a dime yet, and have 55 sigils so far. No idea what the people saying you need to dump $$$ into this from the get go are talking about. To each their own. For a new game it has potential. I’m hoping they add co Ed PvE and PvP.
Chews up phone. It must be using up a lot of processing power because my Phone heats up like crazy and drains the battery. Game is fine. Usual grind and level up. Maps a bit repetitive, but lots of upgrades for units.
So so boring. It’s a shame. After all this time. We get this game, which may have had its place ten years ago. But here today? It is unbalanced, unoriginal, slow, slow, boring and utterly shallow. Nothing original here. Nothing fun here. Just another cash grab. Avoid this thing.
Laggy, buggy pay2win. It starts off as a decent game and then you hit a pve and pvp pay wall. And then another and another. Random lag and bugs add to the frustration. You also collect thousands of resources that you can never spend.
Wonderfully deep, yet accessible. Co-op or some way to play with friends would make this amazing.
So much fun. But I hope I never have to PVP. First the pink hair gnome mascot is so cute and funny. 2nd, I’m not really into mobile games, especially ones with micro transactions but this game is so much fun. It’s easy to understand and whenever I fail I can retry again with no delays. Best of all the matches are super quick so I can do a quick match if I need to kill a few minutes. Plus it plays great with just 1 hand on my iPad. Please blizzard, don’t ever force us to PVP. I hate PVP. I’d rather just play against an AI.
Lot of bugs. Playing on iPad and phone, got a lot of bug in progression, plus it seems that there’s no sound in iPad game if you don’t allow app tracking
Deezus nuttus. 🗿👍
will see. So far so good
Not fun. I hated it
Nice game. The game is beautiful and nice. Probably, you can play only for free, but it will take time. 4 stars because of low-res blurred backgrounds on loading screen.
Pay 2 Win Trash. Money grab garbage
Disgusting difficulty spike. Barely into the second zone westfall and the game’s difficulty has shot through the roof. Same with replaying previously beaten levels they are 100 times more difficult after you beat them for the first time so you can’t even grind for xp or daily rewards. Stay away until the difficulty is balanced properly. I’ll check bag after some updates.
Game wasn’t bad but it’s a Battery sucker and over heating the phone. Not a bad game, and with little in game purchase will make the game easier but don’t have to pay to play unless u wanna be the top few at pvp. The only problem I got are the battery is going down super quick, way quick then playing other game such as touch light and railway, also this game over heat my phone badly, even I remove the case. I don’t know it’s because my phone is too bad or what cause am just using a 14plus not a 14pro max.
Underwhelming. Was hyped for this game when it announced but after playing it’s pretty underwhelming. For the PvE, each battle feels like it’s skewed against you and you need a specific set of units to beat them instead of allowing various play styles which often leads you to lose continuously to find the right set of units which ends up being extremely repetitive and annoying. Feels like the battles were designed so you’d want to spend a bit of money to unlock certain units or just buy power, sure you can F2P but it’ll take you A LOT more playtime to compete with someone who’s spending. For the PvP it’s essentially Clash Royale with a Warcraft skin.
Amazing Game 🤯🔥. Has everything! You can play the entire “Campaign” or play against other Players! This game it’s completely Free.. or you can invest a little to boost yourself!! Easy and fun with a lot of mechanics! 💛👌🏻
7/10. The game open 1/5 times Stuck at 50% Gameplay is good feel different than the other Card lvling are way better than any other games Y got Micro transaction obviously Pvp/pve is alright nothing too crazy
Excelente juego. Me recuerda mis tiempos de Warcraft III. Que fino es volver a jugar con esos personajes. 100 % recomendado.
Sigil oversight. I was stuck at 25 and didn’t realize I forgot to claim one of the rewards, ended up going through about 15 levels well with no additional sigils because I didn’t claim one reward
Wholesome. So far doesn’t seem overly monetized, seems fun. I’ll change my review if they disappoint me.
Sa coche. Sa coche
bug. since 2023-09-18 the game dont open anymore fix it please this game is so addictive
Ai is going to cheat pushing you to buy power. Even just leveling up the ai’s summons wasn’t enough they added the wonderful game design of cheating. They generate resources to summon faster than possible for a human play plus the maps are designed with one sided advantage. All a push to get you to buy power. And it’s Miniscule at that. Classic modern blizz stuff. Unless you wanna hit the wall avoid this title.
WHY SO HARD?. The difficulty ramps up 0-100 in 5 minutes
Awesome game to pass the time (internet only). It does what it’s supposed to do. Why hate on it bc it’s blizzard? Makes no sense. It feels like Warcraft RTS, so fans should enjoy it. Newbies it’s not bad either. Glad it’s on iOS and free
Great Warcraft memories. Simple and fun
Can’t play. Downloaded game. Open game and stuck on an infinite loading pinwheel.
Pay to lose.. You are always match with bots players that are impossible to beat no matter how much you paid to have your cards upgraded. Hate game that you cant win no matter how much work you put into upgrading. All those 5 stars review are all hired or sponsored accounts.
Bug Fixes Required. Game is good overall but very discouraging when you clean a hard level only to disconnect and lose out on your rewards. These rewards are integral to progression. Receiving the completion but not getting the rewards should not happen, please fix! Otherwise it’s a decent game.
Beware. My account was randomly closed without explanation and I lost all the money I spent. Blizzard support is rude and doesn’t provide any info.
Blizzard again…. Application that closes as soon as it is launched on iPhone 13, but I am not very surprised by this company and given its reputation. Blizzard is only good to be thrown in the discard
It's good!. So far, it's not pay to win game. I have farmed 3 leaders to lvl 10 and it is possible to play through campaign without paying cash. The dungeon mode is pretty creative. However, the game drains battery and my phone (iphone 13) got hot just after 2 rounds.
Sluggish. Eats battery like it's nobody's business (iPhone 11) gameplay is Ok, seems a bit downgraded graphically speaking compared to the trailer/teasers, intro cinematic runs poorly, has hickups from time to time UI seems low res outside of battle. Not the best in its genre
Buggy Mess. Cant even play a single game without the game crashing, connection failing, or the game straight up freezing. It is embarrassing that a company of this scale cant release a game that has atleast the basic features working.
Awesome game but crashes on ipad. Everytime i finish a mission and claim reward it crashes. Really annoying otherwise 5 star game
Lag. Le jeu tourne pas très bien, on voit que sa bug/fps, mais sinon très bien, le jeu est très sympa, pas trop comme clash royal mais du meme style, beau style graphique
Free play workable.. but still buggy. Frustrating for my friends who spent $$$… typical blizzard creating an addictive fun game but; for example, tendon rip upgrade for vultures does not work… a bit frustrating when you spend hours of time. I’m free play all the way or I’d be more frustrated. Do not recommend spending unless you need that ego inflated, very much a cross between hearthstone and heroes of the storm
Riddled with bugs. Game is fun and enjoyable with quick matches but it crashes constantly and now every quest and pvp match I do does not give me rewards or progression. This is a game breaking bug.
Sinon de nombreux bug in game… grosse latence
10/10. It’s 10/10!!!!!!
App Crashes after most recent update. UPDATE: 1 week still no fix!! Ever since the most recent update (within the last week) the game crashes after loading to 100%. I have an iPhone and had been running the game fine since launch. I have been following the Reddit and this seems to be a common issue for some but not all. Very disappointed that this hasn’t been fixed yet.
Can’t even open the game. Can’t even open the game. It’s stuck in the first loading at 50% every time i tried

Pretty disappointing CoC spin off with aggressive monetization. Not much else to say - this game lacks a lot of depth that others in this genre have (talents all have obvious best choices and second best choices etc), and deck building synergy doesn’t matter nearly enough. You can get by just by putting your highest level cards together most of the time. PvP has VERY aggressive monetization tactics. You will have a near 100% win rate for your first 20 or so matches, and suddenly you will be matched against players that are over double your mini levels. This becomes the norm for you until the new season - wash rinse repeat. I find it hard to believe that there’s not enough of a player base here that you couldn’t segment not only by rating, but also by avg mini level, or even leader level. ItS intent is clear - if you want any more of the season PvP rewards, cough up dough! From what I understand you shouldn’t expect to progress much further past gold 1 or gold 2 if you’re starting now and not putting money into the game. I don’t know, all mobile games are a waste of time, but this one is probably the least interesting of the bunch in this genre. If you’re a huge Warcraft fan, the biggest compliment I can give this game is that they nailed the art style and bringing these characters to a different format. But, outside of that there’s not much to praise here.
Invincible Opponents. Beautiful artwork and fun solo gameplay. Most guilds are partially or entirely full of inactive players, so a good guild is hard to find. Guilds can be a good feature but need a way to clear out inactive players. PvP starts strong when matched up with others around the same level. Above 3000, opponents can be a level above. Around 4000, opponents can be multiple levels above and effectively invincible. Skilled players are punished with many nearly impossible matches after each win. Simply maintaining the same ranking gets more difficult as opponent level eventually eclipses skill as the deciding factor. Either there is a lack of players at certain levels or the matchmaking is broken or both. Beyond a certain point cash ruins an otherwise great game. Earning a win against a tough opponent is the best, but getting stomped on over and over and over again because the game cannot find another skilled opponent around the same level is ridiculous. Accept the low ceiling or pay to raise it. As frustrating as losing can be, how rewarding of an experience is it for those who paid to win regardless of skill? Did they win or was it their wallet that won?
Loads of fun, if it’d load properly. This game is awesome! Think of a VERY upgraded and enhanced version of Clash Royale. There’s so much playability and it’s definitely doable without purchases (obviously it’s grindy at some point, but that’s the fun of it!). Like I said though, it’s loads of fun, if it would load how it should… more times than not when I load onto a PVP match it just crashes and sends me back to my home screen. If I reload the game real quick it will either crash again or load me back into the game, in which my opponent has already granted themselves a HUGE advantage because I was AFK. That is so unacceptable, especially considering it’s ALL RANKED play! I just lost two matches in a row because it crashed and sent me home. Yes I have all the recent updates and yes, I have stellar Wi-Fi. Please fix this because I love this game and it’s ruining the experience!
Great game, all but one bug. Great game so far. I’ve had a blast playing but and can’t wait to see where they take it! Only grievance is a bug that makes the game very frustrating to play. When playing dungeons, it locks you out of receiving your reward and makes it impossible to continue progressing for that entire week if you change your leader to play other content. I’ve tried restarting the app, reinstalling the game, and every simple work around that others have tried to no avail. As far as I can tell, this has been happening since the beginning of November and the Devs still have yet to find a solution to this problem! Not acceptable at all, and very unfortunate a team like this can’t seem to get their stuff together. I promise you, if this was a bug that prevented players from spending money on in-game currency, they would have this solved within the day/week!
Set up for instant failure. Obviously the game is pvp/pve how ever I’m the pve instances you are at the worst disadvantage I’ve ever seen in a game like this. Even when played 100% perfectly you still can instantly die, now let’s take a dive into why… it’s because the enemy already holds a forward position and has a handful of mobs already marching towards your base. When they also start with the same mana as you the player. I get that companies need to make money but to stomp out players in the first three zones and either force the to buy with real money or grind for actual days to get anywhere is insane… id recommend some balance on all the extra starting mobs or not having the pve enemy’s starting with a forward base that is actually 2.1 steps away from your nexus?? I mean I probably know nothing I’ve only been playing video games for 3 decades… The suits know all
Great mobile game - not scummy. I usually avoid P2W mobile games but being a Warcraft fan I wanted to give this one a shot and I am glad I did. The pay to win elements from what I can see are not so egregious compared to other games. I made it to gold 1 in PvP without spending a dime, and anecdotally know someone who is plat free to play and finished the entire campaign as well (minus Onyxia). There’s constant ways to earn gold to where I never felt compelled to buy any as by simply playing the game you earn a good amount of gold for your purchases and upgrades. You do hit a wall in the campaign at some point, but to me that’s fine because I enjoy doing the dungeons quests and PvP to level up my army, no rush for me.
Bravo Blizzard!. It’s been a long time coming but this game was worth the wait. The effort level shows in the game play that they didn’t just shove out another copy-cat clickbait that you see these days in the app market. This game shines on its versatility in not only PvP but in Pve gameplay. As a long term fan of Warcraft and and World of Warcraft I feel as if blizzard allowed me to take in combination both games in my pocket. In all of its gameplay I feel like the gamer will enjoy the the seriousness of computation and the corkiness and nostalgia from Warcraft related games. All and all wait to go Blizzard quality work! I can’t wait to see what is made of this game for many seasons to come!
Typical Blizzard Pay to Win Mobile Game. Game starts out with meaningful progression in all ways. After about 4 hours, you start to hit a wall which requires specialized ability upgrades for your minions which either cost in game currency or real dollars. The use of the in game currency is by chance as well.. you need to be lucky enough that the right upgrades appear in the shop otherwise you have to pay to shuffle them around. Upgrades will cost quite a bit to earn. The PVP is fun at first, but as soon as you start to do well, you’re placed up against people who have spent a lot of money on the game to get all unit upgrades and abilities which will make you lose even if you play with the right strategy. I want blizzard to succeed, but this is painful at best once you get past the first hours of the game which is usually when people leave their review.
Feels half baked after almost a year of play testing. I’ve spent half my time in this game since launch fighting bugs. My connection isn’t the issue given I have ~500mbit down and 45mbit up on my phone, but I keep getting regularly stuck loading at 50% when opening the game. The last stint of this bug lasted over an hour before I could play again. Also, ending a mission sometimes takes up to 15 seconds of tapping Continue to move on. Bugs aside, I feel that the way they did the tutorial across 30+ levels is a little janky considering how few new minis you get due to RNG. I’m being hard countered in Ashencale and the core minis I start with don’t feel sufficient to the task. They more relevant mini rewards form the progression early on instead of relying on the randomness that is the G.R.I.D. All that said, it’s got promise and could be a good game in a month or two if they can iron out some of the jank.
Fun game but really annoyed by constant bugs. The game is fun, I probably spent over $500 on it. I am however constantly irritated by how poorly coded and tested it is by Blizzard. It takes about 25-30 seconds for the game to load to the main menu, there are no intense graphics or a ton of assets needed. Loading a level has additional load time. If I need to switch to another app for a moment, I have to incur the game load time all over again. QA by Blizzard appears to be non-existent; every time there is a new patch, the game always has issues - is it that hard to test it before releasing? Typically when an issue is “resolved” via an update, an additional bug will be introduced. This will repeat 2-3 times every few weeks. Again, test your patches Blizzard. A lot of these bugs can be found by running the most basic activities.
Beware of the hard progression lock!. I was really excited to try this game as a fan of warcraft and the clash royal series. This game will stifle your progress hard after a certain level (around 50ish), where it will now depend on you strictly paying to progress your troops. The PVE sections will become level gated and will demand you to be above the required level to complete its levels. Leveling units in this game can be a hassle also with a convoluted and randomized leveling system. Even if you religiously play with a unit, it does not mean it will gain any levels. The gameplay is pretty fun, but the progression system leaves you at a disadvantage constantly. This also bleeds into PVP with you having to upgrade units in order to use their critical skills. These skills can be crucial to some units being average or OP. this could leave you at a huge disadvantage in a majority of your matches. If they can streamline their leveling system this would be a much better game.
Excessive P2W and SO many bugs.. Game starts pretty fine but the Heroics and higher PvP is such a cesspit for the required money spent. They tried to balance it with the levels but people rolling around with the best mini/talent combos on every mini is ridiculous. Then the PvE is very obviously a cash grab. You breeze through until Heroics and then suddenly there’s a gigantic wall with every levels gimmicks. I get it, it’s good business but it’s garbage game design. Oh, and can’t forget the insane amount of bugs for a game by a company like Blizzard. This is what I’d expect from some Chinese knock-off but not Blizzard. Start a weekly raid, beat the first boss, start the second, get an error, game reloads, now you’re locked out of the raid for 10 minutes. Come back 10 minutes later, same thing happens. Awesome. Then another big one, randomly at the end of levels, you won’t be able to click anymore so you’ll be forced to restart the game. Pure trash. Don’t waste your time.
Fun game but highly unstable. Warcraft Rumble is an enjoyable game when it works, unfortunately that is a somewhat rare event. Every patch leads new game-breaking issues, some of which get quickly remedied others don’t get fixed at all. In the last major event patch an issue was introduced that forced you to play with a specific team setup, without any talents. The community found a workaround by putting specific units in specific slots of specific leaders. If this workaround didn’t work for you as a player, or you didn’t scour the internet looking for this fix, the dev team did nothing to address it and it only cleared after the event ended. This weeks patch introduced an issue where interacting with most buttons in the game sends you into a crash loop. I cannot recommend this game to any new players until the development team shows enough commitment to performing quality testing prior to releasing patches.
Stunning Gameplay: A Worthy Successor to WoW. This game is stunning and incredibly fun to play, so much so that it has replaced World of Warcraft for me. The design is thoughtful, blending the best of older RTS games with World of Warcraft mechanics, perfectly tailored for your iPhone and quick play sessions. While there are microtransactions, it’s 2024, and that’s a common business model. However, this game truly earns every dollar you invest. Unlike many games with predatory transaction practices, this one stays clear of that. Don’t listen to the naysayers; this has become my go-to Blizzard game, even over WoW and Overwatch. My only complaint is that it doesn’t yet work on the Apple Vision Pro, although it’s compatible with Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Blizzard, please make this app compatible with Apple Vision Pro.
Foggy Maps?. Hi, I’ve been playing Rumble for quite some time now. It’s become my #1 game. I love the characters, the graphics, the animations, game play all of it……until recently. Recently some maps appear to be fogged over, like the proverbial “fog of war.” Is this a bug or something that developers recently put in the game purposely? Either way, it’s super annoying. It doesn’t add to the experience of game play but rather subtracts from it. Not being able to see the map nor the mini’s that are active on the map doesn’t make it a better experience than the way maps have always been. When I encounter a fogged over map during quest play I immediately surrender and quest for another mini just to avoid that foggy map. If it is done purposely I’d vote for removing it from the game. If it is a glitch or bug some help rectifying the issue would be greatly appreciated.
Good game. Blizzards own spinoff of clash royale, using world of Warcraft characters. It’s a very nice game, seems a little sluggish in the menu hence the 4 stars. I believe this game can be super competitive and super fun for all ages. Note if you have a blizzard account from playing WOW on PC then you can log in with that account, otherwise you can login using other platforms or create a blizzard account. Overall pretty neat, Blizzard if you can fix the sluggish menu then I’ll give a 5 star, I know it’s not my phone for the fact I have a brand new iPhone 13 and the processing power is plenty for this game. If it stays the same then it looks like it’s a cheaply made game that was just thrown together from the minute you load into it until you get into an actual battle.
This game is so fun !. I love that it’s literally a miniature version of world of Warcraft ! I love how you can go through all the zones in world of Warcraft as if you were zoomed in on the open game map and they take rares from the game in those zones and put them as the encounters in each of the zones it’s so much fun ! The minis are so cute I can’t wait until I can start setting talents on them ! Each miniature has stats ! And special abilities you just have to download this and play it …. It’s a very comforting game to play when you are in bed relaxing or on the couch and will give you hours of enjoyment. It’s competitive and challenging too! You have to strategically play your miniatures to be able to win !
Warcraft Where Your Fingers Do the Rumbling. If you’ve ever dreamt of going on epic quests and battling fierce monsters while sitting on the toilet, Warcraft Rumble is the game for you Blizzard Entertainment has taken the world of Warcraft and packed it into a mobile game that’s as addictive as THC cookies and maybe even more awesome it’s calorie free. In Warcraft Rumble, you’ll embark on adventures so thrilling, they’ll make your morning commute feel like a heroic journey. The graphics are so immersive, you might just start believing that your office cubicle is secretly a dungeon filled with goblins and orcs plotting against your coffee breaks. Wanna know the best part about Warcraft Rumble? You can finally combine your love for gaming with the passion for competitive eating. Raid dungeons while raiding the fridge, or defeat the Lich King while defeating a plate of nachos. The possibilities are truly endless In conclusion, Warcraft Rumble is a hilarious and action-packed mobile game that will have you fighting for Azeroth even when you’re stuck in traffic or waiting for your latte at the coffee shop. So get ready to rumble, because the world of Warcraft has never been this portable and your fingers have never been this heroic.
Do not play. This is the worst Warcraft game blizzard has ever released. It is a good time for a week, then it is play to pay. You cannot get from lvl 10 to lvl 11 without many, many hours of grinding or buying coins with real money. It is a shame. If they wanted us to buy the game that would be fine, but if you have to spend money to get to the next level it feel like there would be no end. Eventually you would have to spend more money to advance the game. Also, it is incredibly buggy and crashes, or sends error codes, or you just simple can’t collect dungeon rewards. It is a complete corporation production to try and take money from teenagers who do not know better. Absolutely shame to the Warcraft franchise. The game also drains your phone or iPad battery so quickly that it exacerbates the frustration they did not create a PC version. With the poor end game content of D4 and this garbage of a game, I’m don’t with Blizzard.
Huge potentiel but…. This game is honestly very good! The short game durations and innovative gameplay make it quite enjoyable. However, the developers should work on improving the descriptions and explanations provided. For eg, It's frustrating that some heroes level up with no clear explanation. Furthermore, having a log of past games played, including details about the opponent's deck, would be a great addition. This feature would help players analyze their strategies and improve their gameplay for future matches. Another suggestion is to number the health bar. It's frustrating to think you're winning, only to lose at the end of the game without any information on what happened.
I take back my 2.5/3-star review ⭐️⭐️✨. I am receding my 2.5/3-star review. No, no one is holding a spear to my head in getting me to write this. This game is better than Clash Royale. It’s not an imitation because it does the genre of RTS mobile games well. The game is less P2W than CR and that is why I am giving this game a 4-star review. The other star comes from the unique mechanics and the great synergy of almost every other mini (troop) you can use together on your team. Blizzard has really outdone themselves and I have to applaud it to them. As someone who was ripped off by them with Diablo Immortal, this game is less P2W and very F2P friendly with the exception of the rarity levels your minis get (common, rare, and whatever the 3rd one).
Simple and pretty. It’s looks good. You are collecting minis. Strategy is simply rock, paper, scissors. Difficulty is based around if the AI counters all, some, or none of your minis. Level design is simple. Hard levels just give AI easy access to gold, free minions, etc.. it’s often faster to lose quests 2 or 3 times in 20 seconds and then win vs playing to a stalemate for 3-4 minutes. Endless opportunities to spend money to level your collection, or you’re grinding games to level your minis. PvP eventually makes you play vs opponent’s level so you cannot win vs established players until you’re “max” level at that tier. Meaning, your scissors can’t cut their paper enough kill then, let alone counter them. If you’re cool spending money you’ll be fine at $10-$20 weekly. Or you can farm casually for months.
Great potential. I’ll have to admit that this game is fantastic to play. The first 10-12 hours were a blast. Good graphics and decent gameplay, though some units are overpowered, which is just how Blizzard has always operated. Buffs and nerds every month or so to make people want to shell out real money for the flavor of the month. And that is the biggest downfall of this game… It’s 100% pay to win. If you’re looking for a FtP game, I don’t recommend it. The PVE stuff is fun, but you’ll quickly hit a wall that only large amounts of grinding or money will solve. And PVP is a joke. You’ll regularly get put up against people who have clearly sunk a lot of money into the game. Unless you are willing to pay a good amount of money to be competitive for a few weeks until he stuff you bought get nerfed, or you have a weird fetish for losing a lot, I’d steer clear.
Solid gameplay that hits a pay wall. As a general matter, the design and gameplay are solid. Matches are fun, there’s great variety in the different maps and obstacles, and folks can easily integrate their favorite units among the universal “best pick” units that most teams deploy. I had a good time with it. But at a certain point, the difficulty curve goes vertical, the advancement grind becomes severe, and the pay wall becomes insurmountable. Heroic maps add a fun twist to stages you’ve already beaten, but the difference just one or two levels seems to make is incredible. I simply hit the point where I had seen all the dungeons, experienced the base came, and came to peace with the fact I’d never be willing to spend enough money to complete all the heroic maps and fight Onyxia. Since PvP isn’t my thing … it means I’ve beaten the game. I had a good time, it was a fun experience, but now I’m done and am ok with that.
Great game but lots of bugs. The app resets all the time. Scrolling up and down your troops also crashes sometimes. Clan chat crashes when you send a message. Info from your clan mates takes a lot to load. All this doesn’t affect game progression but it does annoy. The game is great, the mechanics are well designed, the variety of troops is OK, I just wish they weren’t that many troops label as “tanks”, it kinda loses its meaning, but categories like armored or resistant are more relevant and actually adds important twists. I have enjoyed it so far. Also I have spent a decent amount of money on it. So be prepared to spend some at some point, you don’t “need to” but you probably would like to. You can play it for free but you will progress A LOT faster spending money. Good game blizzard folks, keep it good.
Meh. Borderline pay to win.. To advance you need to level up your minis and after a few levels, the needed resources skyrocket. The game was appealing for a short while, but later you can’t make substantial progress without buying packages and coins. The “dungeons” and “raids” are not special - instead of beating 1 boss, you need to beat 3 or more bosses sequentially with the same gameplay. There is a loading screen before and after every game. Your battery will drain incredibly fast. . Update: Took away a star because even if you buy some items, the boosts that you get aren’t substantial. The grind to elevate the minis is huge. You can do Quests to boost minis, but by level 10+ you need 1000+ XP for each toon and a Quest rarely gives more than 20 XP. . Update 2: by level 10-12 you hit a wall which can only be passed by paying to win. The XP given by Quests is not enough to level your minis in a reasonable time. Game over, man.
Decent Game Ruined by Bigs. The core gameplay is alright. There’s a bit of pay to win involved like any mobile game, but you can absolutely grind out progress without spending money. They add in a fair amount of events and things to do which keeps it from getting stale, and there’s a ranked PVP system if that sort of thing interests you. Unfortunately the experience is ruined by constant bugs. You will have to uninstall and reinstall the game eventually due to bad updates pushed out. You will have the game randomly crash or fail to load matches with no reason given. You won’t find any clear reason for this from the developer, nor a method to fix it without deleting and redownloading the app along with the GBs of updates. It’s frankly disappointing to see from a company that was once known for their polish with their games.
Crashes After Every Loading Screen. This game is super fun when I’m able to play it. Every single time I start a match (Storyline, Quest, PvP, Dungeon, etc.) the game loads as normal and as soon as the progress bar gets to 100% it will hang for about 20 seconds and then crash. I then have to reload the game and wait another 60 seconds to get through the Blizzard screen and then another loading screen. Most of the time I am brought back to the home screen to load into another match. Every once in a while I will load into the match that I had started previously but it is just paused as all matches start paused (except PvP). This issue has made PvP virtually unplayable for me as when I finally load into the match, after the game crashing and then loading back in, my opponent has had nearly a minute of play time before I can play any minis onto the battlefield. Also, dungeons seem to be different than storyline and quest matches because when I reload after a crash of a dungeon start, there is about an 8 min period I have to wait before I can attempt to load up another dungeon run. My game will also crash pretty frequently after completing a match or when claiming quest rewards. As I stated earlier, this game is super fun when I’m able to play it and would receive 5 stars but the crashes make this unplayable.
Game keeps crashing during PvP. -Please fix the crashing problem, every third or fourth pvp match the game crashes during the loading screen, and it counts as a loss whenever I reboot the game! -Please add more social things in the game, 15 clan limit is way too small, and without private messaging the game feels very boring, no real reason to communicate with others when it’s just the same 15 clan mates. -Please add a replay button in PvP! It’d be nice to be able to see replays of past matches to see what you are doing wrong/can do better! -Please add player regions to the game, why not show what country other players are from!? Thank you!
The same issue with all Rumbles.. I’m not one for writing reviews unless I see a possibility in fixing the problem. The problems? Balancing as usual. The fact that only a few troops are used because they’re actually broken is astounding. I’ve always wondered why this slipped through the cracks such as Clash Royale. You have the ice spell that actually hits outside of the circle (maybe a hit box error), you have a group of minions which one consistently heals to the point where you actually can’t even attempt to kill without wasting all 10 of your energy, and then the missions that you have to spend all your gold to upgrade your characters in hopes to even have a chance. This is prime example of having people consistently play test the game from various levels. Sorry but can no longer play if I see the same deck used 3 games straight, win against another deck, then lose another 3 to that previous abused deck. Balance or lose to Clash Royale.
This game could be perfect. If it didn’t make such stupid decisions. Add a forfeit button so the absolutely one sided pvp doesn’t make people wait 3 minutes to use the bloody app. Give people avenues to get gold more than once a week, after they’ve hit a plateau. Oh, do you want to level up that hero to beat that tough boss? Hope that luck is on your side to have them queued to get xp! This is such a cool game but I have zero motivation to farm for the chance at xp for the right unit just so I can hope to one day be able to farm for gold, so that I can have a chance to farm for the right unit again. They fumble the bag right before the finish line, and it’s so frustrating as a person who works on UX to think Blizzard screws things up by being just a tiny bit greedier than they need to be. It’s the difference between “okay, this is annoying, but I’m having fun with the grind,” and going to the gym and being forced to use whatever machine they randomly throw at you
Slow starter, but fantastic overall!. The game’s launch and earlier phases were marred with bugs, lack of content, and botters/exploiters. The game we have today is much better and much more rewarding. Darkmoon fair is the best thing that’s happened in Rumble and has brought loads of people back and taken a huge step in reintroducing fun to the game. Before the fair we were being made to believe (through content and surveys) that collecting your favorite Warcraft characters was one of the biggest appeals of the game, now we have been shown that the Rumble team has actual fun surprises in store for us - and I can’t wait to see what they give us next.
P2L (play to lose) Buggy Unbalanced Moshpit. I love WOW and have spent a good bit of money on this game already. I would have kept spending too but my money gets me nothing. PvP is an entire joke and can’t even play it. This game is weirdly annoying now and I feel I’m wasting my time. I have been gaming since a young age 80’s baby. I love all types of games. But the past few years I have come to a huge realization. I am done giving these companies my hard earned money for trash content. I’m done with season passes, battle passes, and micro transactions. Don’t play until this game has gone through atleast 6 patch updates if your going to waste more of your life. Even then it’ll be one big gimmick like most of the games in the APP store! America really needs to go on strike. Everyone is being robbed by legal marketing thieves in all aspects, not just gaming!
So disappointed. Blizzard could have released an actual game meant to build a growing player base, where they're losing money (or more realistically just making less profit overall) on the front end and creating an amazing even level playing field game where it means something to play PVP competitively - something skill based to progress, etc. The entire player base is pushing content together at the same pace and there's a sense of discovery and progression as a community. Instead, they released this dumpster fire where people can pay for a competitive advantage over other players which makes the experience so so so bad for most players. 1,000 players pay to be gods in the game and the other 1,000,000 are the ants that get squished. They aren't focused on developing a game that people will enjoy or come back to or evangelize for even - recruiting their friends... they're focused on cashing in on a genre that's already flooded with games far less buggy than this one that are about as good in virtually every way. It is so profoundly disappointing - I have played EVERY blizzard game since Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. I have been a huge evangelist for Blizzard games and spent thousands of hours with their products. And they treat us so poorly. It's a real shame.
PvP & Money Grabbing.. Why would anyone think it was a good idea, without the usual money grabbing mindset, to add pay to win that effects PvP? I queue up for PvP and people are multiple levels ahead of me. Why would I want to go into a match where I’m destined to lose? Some matches the opponents are so strong the match lasts about 20 seconds. Why would I not be put with people on par of my level? I’ve spent very little money on this game and would like to keep it this way. I give a high review because the game itself plays well, is rewarding and entertaining to progress; just as many blizzard games once were. I have played blizzard games as far back as I can remember. I know this will fall on deaf ears but was worth a shot. You’ve made your money Blizzard….its time to give back to your players not the other way around.
Warcraft and HotS had a love child. I didn’t expect to like this. I thought surely it’d be some money-grubby child’s garbage. It’s actually fun. It’s probably the best an RTS on mobile can be. I can’t help thinking HotS could have easily been kept alive and brought to mobile. To think something more simple and stupid replaced an already simple game is mind blowing. I’ll never understand modern blizzard, but this game is okay. I don’t usually play mobile games, but this one I try to find time for. My philosophy is that if I am playing a game on a mobile device I probably don’t have time to anyway, because if I did I’d be playing a real game on a PC, but whatever.
The game is great, but…. Update august 2024: there has been a game breaking glitch where the user cannot claim rewards after beating dungeons. It’s been actively bugged for the last 9 months! Are you kidding me? This is absurd. First off, keeping it short and to the point, this game is really fun. When it comes to the gameplay, and all aspects of the game it gets a 10/10. Now for the bad… it’s wrecks your phone battery and makes your device hot. Also, after a game is finished and you try selecting “complete” it’s a dead button. Animation is there, but nothing happens for a solid 10-15 seconds. It’s pretty annoying. Not sure if it’s a bug, or if it’s slowing things down so your device doesn’t overheat. I recommend 2 things: 1. If the dead button is a bug, please fix it - it’s a buzz kill. 2. Please give us an option to lower the graphics settings on our devices. I’ve never had a performance issue with my iPhone 11 Pro, but this game destroys my phone.
Not Ready. The game feels like it was designed by a first year game designer. The core game is you unlock units by getting gold and to get the units you want you have to spend gold on units you don’t want. However gold is fixed when you clear a new zone the first time. So you run out of gold really quickly. This is where the mtx comes in. You can buy gold which will lead to unlocking the units you need to clear a zone. The second mechanic of the game is leveling units. However leveling is random and so little. You could be in a level 10 area with level 7 units which means you have to play quests which give you no gold not even a little. The quests also only gives exp to one unit out of a random group of 3. So you will need to level the units you don’t play just for the chance to maybe get exp for the units you do. TLDR: This is Diablo Immortal in Warcraft form get ready to spend to have fun.
Best mobile game of 2023!. Best mobile game I have played since Clash. Only thing that would make it better would be if the PvP matchmaking was a little better and if there was unit types over each characters head. I have been stuck at 1,600 PvP ranking for over 20 matches and am very disappointed given the fact that I am missing out on rewards all the way up to rank points of 20,000, not that I expect to get that high but I would like to be able to at least get a quarter of the way there w/o having to max out my toons. The unit types are confusing, unless it’s flying I have no clue if it is a melee or ranged troop until it attacks me and it is too late to place a counter down, causing me to drop troops not knowing if I am properly countering and just wishing for the best, makes for a poor experience for such a great looking game.
Crashing and Bugs. Overall, I would put the game around 4-stars in its current iteration. Granted, the game has only been out for a day, so I’m sure there’s a lot of change to come. Gameplay is smooth, instructions and information are easy to follow, and progression without spending money seems to be decent… for now. What’s really getting me is how many times the game will crash. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an M1 iPad Pro, both devices up to date on OS. However, the game constantly crashes. Finish a match and want to collect your reward? Can’t because it’s frozen. Hit 30 sigils and want to enter dungeons? Can’t because there’s a bug error. Want to pause the game for more than ~10 seconds? We’re sorry, error has occurred. I hope they fix all of this and more within the coming days/week. Don’t let this deter you from trying it out and having fun!
Fun twist on the genre. Entertaining game play BUT I can’t be the only one who’s constantly having the game crash. EVERYONE crying about feeling like they have to grind has clearly never played mobile games or even mor specifically any blizzard game before because having to grind to “level up” or improve your units is a central theme in ALL mobile games so if you’re crying about this then stop playing because in this case YOU are the issue, not the game. People these days want EVERYTHING right from the start. The idea of progression is now considered bad by these cry babies. If you want everything right from the start then stop playing games with these elements. It’s your own fault if you’re choosing to play this type of game but want everything the day you start the game. People who cry about this stuff need to stop playing the wrong games.
Fun, But Too Asymmetrical. The basic mechanics of the game are very engaging, you feel like you have a lot of variety and choices on how you play and the quick levels are fun. However, as you progress in the campaign, the game becomes increasingly asymmetrical. The majority of the later levels I’ve encounter involve the enemy spawning many, many free powerful units and they control the entire board at the start. It seems that this is designed purposefully so that you couldn’t possibly beat them with strategy; you need to grind your characters to compensate for the campaign’s cheating. I would like to see more levels that feel like they must be overcome with strategy. When I start a new level and see a bunch of units on my enemy’s side for free, respawning every minute, it just feels unfair.
Lackluster. This game has some depth and it’s fun at the start but only a few hours in and you begin to see how shallow it is. Time gating and locking progression to force micro transactions are their bread and butter. Once you get past the easy beginner levels it feels like the enemy starts with double your energy and you have to perfectly counter their opening units or be immediately overrun and lose. It feels like the deck is stacked against you and fun is out the window. The customization is very limited and that’s mainly because it’s locked behind gold and buying things on the shop. It wouldn’t be an issue if you could get more than a single trait for your first commander. The difference between payers and players is insurmountable and that ruins this game quite a bit. No surprise though as this is exactly the type of game blizzard makes now
Kinda fun, but misses the blizzard mark. Feels heavily pay to win after 2 days of playing. Tried to ignore that and have been grinding for a month. Then I hit a soft paywall especially when they introduce hardcore levels. You’re basically able to play earlier levels but they’re modified so bad that it makes them unfair. Like not challenging, unfair. I thought maybe it’s time to give PVP a better go because I wasn’t really feeling it, you know misses the Blizzard feel. Not only is it obviously P2W which I can get behind, the matches that are supposed to be even are practically rolling dice with no real strategy behind it. No matter how you try to compose a well suited army, it always throws you against opponents that have the direct counters to your units. (Gotta keep the 50% win lose ratio because it’s the Blizzard PVP bible) So yeah, give it a go, but don’t expect a Blizzard game. It’s a rushed product that feels empty.
Fantastic Game, With A Few Connectivity Issues. Long time Warcraft franchise fan, and I'm just really happy with this game; it brandishes a wide and nicely polished variety of characters, mixed with a fun and challenging combination of maps and game mechanics. I've spent so many hours playing and enjoying the game already, the only thing I would criticise is its somewhat frequent connectivity issues - no matter how I'm connected to the internet (different known good Wi-Fi networks, as well as 5G ultra) there are seconds of lag during PvP, and often after winning a PvE map the game becomes unresponsive due to network issues. Toggling Airplane Mode on my iPhone fixes the issue temporarily, but it would be great to get an update sometime soon that addresses this problem. Four out five stars for now, but oh so close to 5/5.
Bits of fun. I have fun with this game, but I just play it in short bursts here and there. It does seem a if it could get very grindy if you were to play it a lot. I personally don’t care for the pvp because I don’t like to have to think about putting together the perfect team of minis to counter someone else’s perfect team. You can spend money if you want, but it doesn’t feel necessary. I do have one major gripe, they recently added a Darkmoon Fair event where you can win tickets for prizes. I like the concept, but I don’t like that they changed the quests to Darkmoon Chaos Quests, it adds some random variation to the game that could be a positive or a negative effect (personally I think they are all negative) and I wish it wasn’t forced on me, I would very much like to opt out but that’s not an option.
Could be better. When running a dungeon, you almost always encounter a server error, which result in the player having to wait 10 minutes. The app says “working on results” and will be available in 10 minutes. Aside from the bugs and the game crashing, I think this game and all other games that offer in game currency at 100 bucks a pop should be removed from the AppStore. Apple should be held responsible for allowing companies to offer currencies in game that cost an arm and a leg and has no world value at all. Remove all apps that offer in game currencies and sell your game like the old days. Charging someone 100 bucks for currency is robbery. Your game is not worth that per person. Take out the micro transactions that rob people of money and this could be a good phone game. It’s not just Blizzard games, all games, and Apple is allowing it since they take roughly 30% of every transactions!!!
Balance is a huge issue. So the concept is cool and fun. I had fun when you could actually do anything. The game is exceptionally unbalanced. Within less than 30 minutes you already hit a point where you could literally lose to the AI in 30 seconds. They made everything RNG with your hand to summon, the AIs hand, etc. you could lose because you just don’t get anything to play right away. The AI 100% generates more gold than you meaning they can always throw more out than you can. They can end up with a team that can one shot most of yours and there’s nothing you can do to counter it. Even back tracking doesn’t reward gold so you can farm for better characters. You can level albeit slowly but that means little to nothing when fighting. Had the balance been pretty decent it would be 5/5 stars. Instead you get like 5 levels before getting slapped by rng and AI just getting free things.
Lots of crashes, micros, and you hit a very grindy wall before too long. The game is a fun concept but then it walls you behind incredibly tiny xp quests (7 xp quests while your characters take like 200xp to level at level 8) which you have to do so you can get either the right characters to win or high enough level (strategy doesn’t matter when the increasing levels of the enemies one shots you). Obviously this is to get you to buy their micros (although with the prices, let’s be honest, Blizz is about the macrostransactions now). On top of that there’s lots of freezes and crashes. I play a few rounds and then I have to restart. It’s a shame instead of making a fun game and selling it, they now make a frustrating but addictive style game to shovel monetization into every aspect of the game.
Big updates! Nothing new…. The games alright. Card levels matter very much! You won’t be able to beat the game past a point until your card levels are high enough. So you have to buy the outrageously expensive pack they sell. If not you have to wait a few months to progress. Then you have to update every month. It’s not small updates. 1 gig plus updates! They don’t add anything. What was the 1 gig update for? It did nothing…….. raids feel like they are never going to come out, but you can bet a new $20 pack will! If anything, making the game smaller would be the goal. It feels like they make the game have such massive updates so your phone can only have very few games on it. Forcing you to either dedicate to the game or uninstall. It’s hard to uninstall because if you play wow you get stuff for this game. Yet, when you log in you get nothing… It feels like the 5 star reviews are just activision/blizzard employees.
