SlideScan - Slide Scanner App Comments & Reviews 2026
Amazing! …but 2 things annoy me.. I can’t believe how flawlessly these pics are turning out!! The darker slides are harder to get the reflection of the camera to not be a thing which is just a matter of position and angle. The things that annoy me which also aren’t a big deal (especially with all things considered) when you select the option to say “go” to have the camera scan the slide a notification pops up explaining what the “go” function is EVERY. TIME. Knock it off 😅 Also when you go to the library and come back to the scanner you have to turn the “go” function back on. Just unnecessary repetitive stuff that would be better if it weren’t something to do. Also… when you go to your library after scanning a slide it displays a “photos saved” message which takes a few seconds to disappear. Just a couple of little things that slow down the process that I don’t think are necessary but nothing worth knocking stars off of a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ rating! Very pleased!!!
App For Scanning Photographic Slides. I just found this app and am already loving it! I have hundreds of photographic slides passed down to me from my dad. These pictures go back to the 60s and only exist in slide format. I’ve been hesitant to send them out to a company for fear they would be lost or damaged. Using this app on my phone is so easy. I was up and running within minutes. I recommend signing up for the plan that allows unlimited scanning. It’s less than $40 for a two year subscription. It is so easy and quick to use I should be through those hundreds of slides in no time!
Amazing results!. First let me say I was disappointed that my iPhone 13 would not focus on the slides. So I contacted the developer and got a reply the next morning that they were working on a fix. Two days later it was done! Great customer service. So now I’m scanning slides that are over 60 years old. Not only are they crisp and clear, the app is fixing the color (as much as you can fix a slide that old). I really didn’t expect quality like this in an app but thrilled with it ! In one morning I’ve already scanned over a hundred slides.
Fantastic for 120mm not 35mm. Ok so this app is decent for scanning photos imo but not amazing.(I'm using an iPhone 13 Pro Max to scan) So I developed 200 iso 120mm film and came out great cus my phone was able to scan the bigger slides easy but 35mm came out blurry and I had 35mm 400 iso Kodak professional film and always had either the reflection of my phone lens or a yellow hue idk why the yellow hue is there but yea it is. I set up my Nikon d3200 and the slides are godly beautiful. So if you have 120mm film I'd say this app is great for beginners leading into intermediate but 35mm I keep having problems with maybe it's me maybe it doing something wrong idk I'm still new to film. TLDR: good for 120mm and eh for 35mm Some photos show camera reflection and discoloration
Confusing cancellation procedure. I purchased this app to test the product. When I decided I didn’t need it, the subscription cancellation was very difficult. Customer service responded more then once with a form letter describing the cancellation options. None of the options allowed me to cancel. Not until I cancelled my credit card and wrote a bad review did I get a response that my subscription was cancelled. You have to purchase a subscription to actually use the product in a functioning way. I am happy to do that in respect of the developers. But there should be an easy way to cancel the subscription.
I wanted to like this. 1. But the app doesn’t support Macro mode on iPhone 13 Pro, so you can only get so close the slide, resulting in smaller, lower resolution captures. I actually got better, higher resolution results with Apple’s camera app. 2. Focus detection would help too, showing in-focus edges in a color, like digital cameras. 3. Cropping is a little too conservative; picking less of the image margins. 4. Adjusting the crop is possible but fussy. No way to revert to the autocrop after you adjust it manually. 5. It Would be great, since the app detects a backlight, if it would color balance it. I keep my display warm, and I noticed off-temperature highlights In the captures. 6. Would gladly pay the full price if quality-improving features were there. 7. Unfortunately, the developer response to this review missed the point of my criticisms, and worse, did not address the inexplicable lack of support for macro mode.
Great app. This is great. Had slides from my dad over fifty years old. Had them tucked away didn’t know what to do with them. Those other places you send them away to cost too much per slide. This is a life saver. Having so much fun looking through the old slides. Didn’t even have projector to see them. My kids had never seen them before. They couldn’t figure out why I was so happy to finally take care of my dads “slides”. How small is this slide that we never saw before in the house. Kids!?!? So easy to use also. My hand shakes a bit when I hold up the slide to computer screen but it captures the picture perfectly. Did I say I love this app. Best purchase ever.
Terrible Scans! with Essential Edit Features ABSENT!. Your slide needs to be in good shape to begin with — If the slide is clear the scan is clear. But if the slide is dark like many older slides you are stuck with no features available to lighten or sharpen the photo, only to colorize which does barely anything. This means that you need to purchase other editing apps from Photomyne with the additional features raising the overall costs substantially. Another big problem is that ALL time slides are scanned with a reflection of your phone. The 3 lenses in my iphone reflected on all my scans. If you buy this app be ready to add 3 times the cost for additional apps to get your slides in acceptable order. As for me, the ad did not fit the experience so I am asking for a refund.
Easy to use-amazing color correction. I am amazed at how easy to use this app is and the color correction is well done automatically.. even compensating for the movement of holding the slide. I save the images to my phone and download to my computer and can give a flash drive with hundreds of photos to all my siblings… wedding pictures of my parents and photos of my grandparents and family friends from the 50’s. Lost to us on slides — now saved and viewable to new generations. This is a great app.
An app that brought joy!. I saw an ad for the app’s free trial and decided to give it a try. I had 8 slides of my Mom, Dad, Grandparents and myself taken 64 years ago by a relative. We never had a slide projector so thanks to this app, I saw myself as a baby for the first time. What a gift! The app is simple to use and does a great job in the conversion. I used a light box and rather than hold it, I placed my iPad on a book to steady it. The pictures came out clear and beautiful! Thank you!
Useful but fussy. I’m happy to have discovered this app when I needed to do something with a collection of 20th-century slides. It does a decent job of capturing the images (including surface defects, not ScanSlide’s fault). However it is all but impossible to operate without the voice control unless you have some sort of stand to hold your phone steady while you press the shutter button for three seconds. So I’m grateful for the voice control. I just wish I didn’t have to reactivate it every time I return to the “Add” function. Why can’t it be enabled by default? Also, the control works inconsistently, sometimes doing nothing until I say “Go” up to four times, and sometimes being triggered by a background noise, giving me a random image of the kitchen table among the recovered slides. I wish the filter did more to remove reflected warm light (or a vague reflection of my hand and the iPhone) from the surface of the image, something I can’t seem to prevent while using a computer screen as a backlight.
Reflection Problem. When I use the backlight suggested and then hold my phone up to scan the slide the reflection of the back of my cell phone shows up on the photo! I’ve scanned over a hundred slides and you can see the reflection of my phone in the digital photos. I was so excited to scan all my photos but this doesn’t work. I have tried adjusting my display brightness but then it’s not bright enough to scan the slide. Also, the digital pictures are not nearly as sharp and clear as the slides! When I try to zoom in to view the photo it is grainy and blurry. Maybe my phone doesn’t have a good enough camera? I have an iPhone 8.
Revised review.. I just tried out the app and first I was not happy with this app. But after setting up my iPhone and a white board I have to admit my first review was not correct. The app works very well and the photos on my iPhone are very sharp and the color are almost like the original slides. I did sign up for the 2 year plan and will transfer many of my old slides to my phone.
Saved many memories. After my sister passed away, I had to go through at least a dozen trays of our father’s Kodachrome slides. I decided to pay for a two year plan so I could digitize many of the family memories (because the free version is very limited). I would have liked to have the option of basic lightening and facial touch ups - the scan program does an amazing job of removing some of the dullness of 50 year old slides, but the slides that were damaged could have been improved had some manual photo editing options been included.
Low quality result, bad customer service. The process to scan your slides is archaic to say it best. Hold the slide, hold your phone, say ‘go”, try to hold it still for 3 seconds and get a low quality rendition of your slide. I expected much more. Also, I chose a free trial and now they won’t cancel the service. There was no way to cancel online, only by contacting them, and I sent THREE emails with no response. Contact them on Facebook and they say the cancellation was processed. Then a day later I get a welcome email and a pending charge on my credit card. Not to be trusted!! Update: despite the developer response, they have charged my credit card. BEWARE!!!!
SCAM!!! Doesn’t work. IT DOES NOT WORK!! NOT a clear image. You go to their website which is just a blank webpage then you could take a much clearer photo with your iPhone camera. App distorts the image. Plus, I did a free trial but was then charged for a subscription within the 3 day trial. I had canceled the subscription. SLIDE SCAM. refund my $40. Your response: “We understand your request for a refund; however, we’d like to clarify that all app and subscription purchases on iOS devices are handled exclusively through Apple’s App Store. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to process refunds directly on your behalf. While we’d love to assist you further, only Apple has the authority to review and issue refunds for App Store transactions.” Apple says contact you directly. You say contact Apple. APP is a scam. Needs to be removed from the App Store.
Shady developers. On the App Store, it says that there is a plan for $6 for a month. Then you go to buy it in the app and they tell you it’s $20 for two years. I have 20 slides to back up. It’s much cheaper to go to a local slide scan place and the quality would be exponentially better. Since I only have a few photos, I was fine with the lower quality within the app but the price is outrageous. They also tell you that you can scan all you want for free. They don’t tell you that you can’t save any for free. What’s the point of scanning is they stay in this app? I’m fine with paying some money, but not a dollar a slide. It worked fine for what it is, but the price is way too high and you don’t realize this until you’ve finished the scanning that they lied about the price on the app page.
Fun and Easy to use. I have hundreds of slides that I’ve put off scanning because it’s so complicated and time consuming. This app has made it so quick and simple to do and I am finally getting my memories saved digitally. I love that it gives me the ability to share the scans on my phone or my computer. You can go to a page on your computer to view or download them. You do need to pay for a subscription if you want to scan a large number of slides. It also helps to have a stand for your phone, since it can be challenging to hold both a slide and your phone without moving one or the other. So far I’ve been very pleased with Photomyne’s SlideScan app.
Not obvious how to create account. Yep, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to set up an account thru SlideScan so I can view my photos on my laptop once I scan them on my phone. It’s been really frustrating. I paid with Apple so tried to log in that way—that didn’t work either. So I had originally downloaded the paid version of SlideScan, but I cancelled my subscription until I get instructions from you on how to do this. It would be a shame to pay, scan a bunch of slides, And then find out I could only view them on my phone. It should be way more obvious on your app how to move between the SlideScan app and your website.
What about Facebook?. I am in the 3 day free trial. I think the quality of the pics will be good if I find a way to get my iPhone out of my shaky hands and get it stabilized. The grid pattern also shows, but will get a light box and try. I have tried sharing to FB, the app leads me to the FB app on my phone, I enter all the info, select the photos, hit send, and the photo app goes back to the selection page without posting anything to FB. Maybe I am not allowed to do that in the 3 day trial? Any suggestions on a device I can clamp my iPhone 8+ in to stabilize?
The app is great, but technique is important. I have a brand new MacBook Pro and i have the screen setup according to the guide. If you lay the slide on the screen it takes a very good small photo but if you enlarge the picture you see grid lines in the background from the computer screen. I think a really bright light table or box with a clean white light in the background would offer the best results. If there is anything in the background besides pure white light it shows up through the slides. I’ve only tested a few but the results were consistent.
SlideScan. The app works fine but it is very slow and it is not possible to organize scanned items. Once you scan a lot of slides you have to go through all the slides to get to the latest ones. This is especially true if using the web version. When saving or sharing on from the web version it takes ages for the scans to load, and there is no easy way to group slides. In addition, the app takes forever to sync the slides…. I scanned 400 slides yesterday day and 24 hours later, it is still syncing. So for small scans it is fine, but it is not very well organized.
Saved me hours of work. My in-laws passed away recently, and we found a box of slides. We had a great time going through the memories with family on the old 80’s slide projector, but we wanted to share the photos digitally. I had my fair share of scanning experience from my experience as a graphic designer and knew the challenges that I was getting into. SlideScan was a lifesaver! We scanned about 1,600 photos with ease. So many family members had no idea many of these pics existed. And the quality is great! The app over delivers.
Good app, but could be better. So far so good with this app it’s an inexpensive way to make your slides into photos. My complaint is that when I put my iPhone up to the slide, which has a light board behind it the reflection of the lenses on my camera show on the finished print. Maybe I’m doing it wrong but it’s a pain and inconsistent that way. I like this as a quick way to transfer photos, but I may go back to my old one that plugs into my iMac.
Great App. I’ve had boxes of my dad’s slides from the 1950’s through the early 80’s in the basement for way too long. Enter the pandemic and our desire to clean out the clutter! With this app I can line 12 slides up on a light pad and quickly capture them with my phone. The quality of the pictures is impressive. I’m making real progress and can’t wait to arrange the photos and surprise my brother with all the memories of family vacations, big fish, favorite pets and first days of school.
Love it!. I have had our family slides in boxes for years. Always promising the family to get them put on a CD or something. I tried this app and it is amazing!! Hoping to get books made at some point but still going through the endless boxes! The voice control is awesome as well! Some pics come out a little fuzzy but when your dealing with slides that are 50+ years old, that’s to be expected!
Works real well. This program works much better than I thought it would. I bought a Kodak Mobile slide box, but the software that comes With it is just ok. Using this program with the box works very well. The image are very sharp and it even catches small details in the slide. I have yet to try it with my light-table, but I’ll bet it works well. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because I think it is too pricey. Paying 4.99 a month to use this software is a bit much. I wish it was a pay one price, and that would be it.
Relief!. Exhausted from going through my folk’s things after both passed away (great long lives), promised my bro & sis I would organize & digitize cases of family photos. Almost done w/paper photos I found dusty case of slides UGH. What to do? Mail them & be charged fortune to digitize? Nope, this app AWESOME! I popped for the $29 but wow! Easy digitization & saving! Can’t recommend enough!! Old slides have amazing resolution! All done w/iphone & my desktop screen as a backlight.
Great app - higher resolution please?. Amazing app for what it is. I made a white image to display on my laptop as a background. Then I rigged a stand out if a large binder clip holding a bulldog clip to hold the slides. (I took off the arms of the binder clip) This sits on my keyboard a few inches from the screen. My phone is on a monopod selfie stick that has a tripod. This works quite well except that focusing is very tricky. I have to move the slide away from the phone more than I want. Can you please make your camera be able to autofocus and output higher a resolution images.? A pro version? Then it would be a 5 star product review!
Easy to use and well worth the price!. I only had one box of slides (around 600 slides) to scan, and I was having trouble finding a service to do the whole lot of them, then I saw an ad on Facebook for this app. I got all the slides done in a few days of just scanning and editing a few hours a day. The quality is as good as I was expecting to get from much more expensive equipment or services. I was scanning within seconds of installing the app. All around great.
Wow! So much better than a scanning device.. I had spent hours scanning slides on a Wolverine film to digital device and finally gave up. I tried this app and it was a whole new ballgame. I used the voice activated method. You hold the slide in front of the light source website on a laptop or iPad, and say “Go”. In seconds it scans and neatly crops the cardboard slide frame and automatically adjusts the color. Great results! I did 65 slides in about 20 minutes. Love this app!
OK if you have no other way. The old adage once again should be heeded. If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. These apps do great on printed analog photos. But on slides, not good at all. If you have no other means to scan your slides then this will give you a very low res, rough picture of your slide. I tried this against slides that I had already scanned with a fairly cheap Wolverine slide scanner. As common sense would dictate, taking a picture of a slide (even with an iphone 13) on a very bright white background will never get you close to an actual slide scanner. Even slides where the people are up close to the camera do not come out clear. They are all fairly blurred. And that’s where the sharpening tool supposedly comes into play. But this only changes the faces and makes them seem superimposed onto the picture with very little quality increase. Do yourself a favor. With what it would cost to pay the monthly subscription on this app for 6 months, you can buy a dedicated slide scanner that plugs right into any laptop and scans slides in seconds. And the quality is very good. 5 to 10 times better than this workaround app.
Good for snapshots and fast archiving. I’m new to it, and really like SlideScan. It’s simple to use, with clear instructions, and is a lot faster than using a dedicated slide scanner. It is missing some basic features that would really help with use. For example, the app’s algorithm guesses which way is “up” while scanning, and you don’t have the ability to rotate images stored with SlideScan. That’s something you have to do with images saved locally. The company also relies on file size to describe saved images. For print purposes, knowing dimension and resolution are important info. If you know your device’s capabilities, it would be nice to be able to set expected parameters for all photos scanned in one session. One physical issue that I plan to find a workaround for is reflection of your camera being seen on the slide glass - a result of the light box. That should be physically correctable. Anyhow, if you’re looking for a way to create a fast digital archive of slides at basic print quality, this app should work for you!
Great results!. I had kept for more than 60 years some slides of photos with very valuable memories of my family and vacation places we visited. When I find out about this app that can scan and transform this photo-slides into photos that can be saved in my IPhone I was trilled to download it and give it a try, the results were more than expected but fantastic!! This app is so simple and effective to use that left me very happy and complete satisfied. Gary E
Could be great…. I love the idea of this app. But I have a couple problems with it. First of all, I see a reflection of my phone no matter what I do. I even tried making a black cover to go over my phone. But I still see the round circle where the camera is showing up in every picture I take. I saw other people in the reviews have said something similar and customer service says to contact them. I did, but have not heard anything back yet and my free trial ends tomorrow. Secondly, I want to airdrop the photos that I scan from my iPhone to my iMac. But it only lets me do five at a time. I am hoping there is a way around this. If I could get customer service to get back to me, perhaps these problems could be solved and I would give it a much better rating.
Best App I’ve Ever Tried. This is by far the best app I’ve ever used!!! I bought a whole bunch of slides at a flea market last year with the hopes of trying to reunite them with the family; however there is no info on them and I had no way to digitize them without spending a lot of money until now. My hope is to get these scanned in and then hunt for their rightful owner. Fingers Crossed!! Thank you developers, your gonna make some families day when I’m able to find them!!!
Hidden treasures revealed!. We all know our print photos and even our digital photos reside in a photo Limbo land. Never really seen or displayed unless we actively prepare scrapbooks, photo albums or other various modes. The fate of our treasured 35mm family slides from a by-gone day undergo an even more dismal fate with limited ways to view them. They remain in a photo graveyard of sorts. But with this app not only do they come alive, they undergo a reincarnation! They are alive again. Not only can they be shared and viewed again and again, they are set to a slide show setting complete with music. Seeing my parents, grandparents and siblings again brings me back to the time when these memories were originally captured on film. They have all passed on now so enjoying these slides brings me joy in ways immeasurable. I love this app so much.
Much Better Than Expected. I have thousands of slides that I have no idea what to do with? I thought I’d try this app to see what the quality was like and the ease of use. You could spend the money and buy the accessories and get better quality images but just doing it by hand quickly, lets you run through a stack of slides in minutes. The image quality is still very good and it is printable. It’s fun seeing slides that are 50 years old and the image quality is still remarkable. I would recommend this app to anyone and if you wanted to go crazy and buy the accessories, you could really get some fantastic image reproductions. I suggest to put a piece of tape over the silver Apple on the back of the phone to keep the reflection from showing up in the image.
Slide Scan App. Just started to use the app today and I am very excited about being able to easily take a digital image of some very old and treasured slides. I had boxed them up and stored them in a closet and I now have a way of being able to see them on my phone or computer. The picture quality is good and I think it will get better as I become more comfortable and adept at the mechanics of the process. I have looking for this app for many years.
Excellent. My mother-in-law gave me a few dozen slides, most from the ‘60s, and asked if I could somehow turn them into photos. I was stumped until I saw the SlideScan app in a feed. I tried the trial version, it worked great, and so I signed up for the monthly subscription. Again, it worked great - and my mother-in-law loves me. When I’d done all the slides, I had some concern about canceling because sometimes that’s a problem. I was wrong to worry; canceling was easy. Believe me, I am not one to effuse over something unless it is worthy. This app is.
Great app. This is a great app for scanning slides, much better than an online device I paid $80 for a couple of years ago and stopped using because it was terrible. Just started using this and it is very easy but takes a little experimentation to get the best results. To help with back light issue I put a piece of 8x10 white paper behind the phone, which helps. Results even on first use are very close to the original slides. I’ve already paid for a 2 yr subscription as a one time payment. Looks like it will be worth it, i have lots of old slides.
Saved from Waste Basket!. I was on the verge of throwing away over 3000 slides and this app saved those memories. It does a very good job of capturing your 35mm images at a very affordable cost. I am impressed with what it can do. It scans at 72 dpi, but you can make simple adjustments in Photoshop. The only oddity I noticed is that it does not seem to be able to handle the shadows on bright red. I used an iPhone 11 so I’m not sure if it’s my phone or the app. Definitely follow all the tips and tricks. Thank you for saving these precious memories!
Satisfied customer. This is a great app. We had several hundred old pictures on slides that I want to have sent somewhere to change them into photos but it was expensive and I was afraid we might lose them. But I was able to convert all of them myself using only my phone. Those pics were irreplaceable. Thank you for an app that works just the way it’s supposed to.
Impressive app. Most scanners only accommodate a few slides per scan. That takes a lot of time just loading them prior to scanning. SLIDESCAN makes it easy to get a rhythm going which speeds up the whole process. I experimented a lot before I settled on a setup. I have an old light table and ordered the suggested iPhone holder. The best feature (out of many) is the verbal trigger to scan. It helps avoid shaking and moving the phone, thus requiring repositioning of my setup. I’m only about 500 slides into a couple thousand and I’m moving through them at a good clip. I definitely recommend SLIDESCAN.
App no longer functional after latest update. I’ve used this app for over a month with an iPhone 13 Pro and the light pad with general success. The backlight causes reflection off of the phone to create a reflection on the slide image itself. I was able to correct this by creating a box around the slide to limit the reflection. However as of tonight the app no longer detects any backlight and can’t seem to focus. I’ve tried turning ambient lights on and off, using the light pad, using a computer screen - nothing seems to work rendering the app useless right after I’ve paid for another month. Extremely dissatisfied.
Amazing. What an incredible app along with their other products, especially Photomyne. Beats using a slide scanner which I bought two years ago but was so cumbersome and lacking in quality that I gave up. The ease is amazing but the quality of them is even more astounding. I never would have believed it. I’be scanned the first box of slides from my study abroad in Germany, can’t wait to scan the remaining 3,000 slides and to tackle my mom and dad’s slides from the 40s to 70s. Awesome! Just awesome. Awesome job.
Awesome App!. Whoever designed this, is genius! I have tried different products to scan slides, and have not had any success until this app! I am scanning slides from the 60’s. The quality of the scans of these slides is unbelievable! I did not want any service where I would have to mail, or leave my slides with someone. I was petrified of them being lost or damaged! This has been great. The scanning process is quick and easy!
Quality is Inconsistent. About a third of the scans come out good and the other 2/3 are grainy. The pictures look fine on my phone but not very good on my laptop. Be sure to hold the slide 2 inches from the light source. It makes for a better scan but requires 2 steady hands. The app is a bit quirky. They have a feature that starts the scan by voice command, but it doesn’t stay on so for each scan you need to reset this feature. Overall, my feeling is that these slides have been sitting in a box in my garage for years and will never be looked at as slides. I scanned just the best ones and while the quality is questionable, I can look at them easily on my phone and they bring back good memories and a smile to my face.
Go get Photomyne suite and save yourself trouble. They let you buy just a membership for one app that does one thing but you’ll want the Photomyne suite once you’re trying to download, etc and ironically you can’t use the same login because it’s different even though it’s all the same company. Customer service is consistent but seems to be one person answering messages at 4am so you won’t get a chat response Generally everything works well but when it doesn’t, it’s really frustrating to pay for something and not have live support
So easy. Surprised at how quickly it captures the image- even when I feel like I’m not holding it very still. The image quality is better than I expected. Two annoyances: I’ve scanned at least thirty slides, and just today it’s not finding the backlight at all, which is a bright white computer screen in a dark room. I’ve closed and reopened the app, and shut my phone down and restarted it but it never finds it. I can still go ahead and push the button and scan a slide anyway but it’s annoy to do it through the searching for backlight words. Second, I wish that when you scan a slide I could just look at it. When you touch the image it should just open it, instead of saying slide saved and making me go to the saved slides and open it there. After viewing it it should then say slide saved when you close it.

Slidescan great product. This is one of the easiest to use apps to convert 35mm slides to digital. Easy to install, easy to use and well worth the unlimited licence fee. The quality of the digital images is excellent.
Can’t save images where I want to. It’s not bad software but you cannot save these images to your own photo library, they just stay in this ap?🤬 I cannot move the images from the ap
Slide viewing. Fabulous product.. am loving the end result and very efficient process
Great App. This app is so easy to use and I have saved so many precious memories. The digital photos are good quality. Highly recommend
Recovered Old Memories. Scanning old slides means long lost memories can be shared with the family - without a slide projector?
Quick and easy way to see slides. It is a bit cumbersome to set up the right spot to get the best shot of the slides but once you do everything is pretty simple from then. Much cheaper than having to go and get them printed.
So easy!. This app gets rid of cupboard clutter, you can look at your slides any time without having a slide projector. Also eliminates deterioration
Great app. Used this to get a picture off a 40 year old slide, works perfectly
So cool. Finally getting a clear view on this old family slides and can add to computer Insta facey or send to people Really enjoying so easy to use
Free version is just a sample. If you select their free version just to use their basic app you will only get to scan about 10 photos before it locks and you can’t save them to your photo gallery
Memories shared. Being able to easily scan my father’s slides, taken during my childhood, has been a delight! Great quality, easily shared with family…
Complaint. You don’t seem to be able to scan more than one slide at a time, like you can with photos
Great quality. Works well , backlight definitely needed but worth it .
So easy to use. I scanned 100's of old photos with ease and they look fantastic. This thing is idiot proof.
Easy to use. Very happy with this app. Found lots of old slides and wanted to keep them.
Scam?. Be careful with this! I downloaded both Slidescan and Filmbox free trials one year ago. Found it of no use to me so decided against keeping it. Now I find my credit card has been charged exactly one year on without my authority. Is this just negligence, or criminal? In either case, I'm due a refund, but it's not clear how I can get one.
Memories of decades. Nice to be able to view and reminisce about the memories captured on slides without the hassle of loading slides, setting up the projector and screen. It’s been fun while in physical separation mode.
Fantastic results. Thank you for providing the means to bring back 40 years of memories that had not been seen for decades ❤️❤️❤️
Great app. Had a large number of old slides to scan . So easy to use, great quality scans and a fast way to get the job done
SlideScan. Good results first time, easy to use Will try some very old slides to put it to the test and I guess they can be improved with a program if required Very pleased
Love this App!. This app is doing exactly what I hoped it would! Provided you use it in the right conditions (good natural light and a bond background), the slides come out beautifully. I am using it to create a slide show so I don’t know how they’d come out if you printed them, but I’ve found the quality fantastic. Would highly recommend for those wanting to bring old slides alive!
Amazing App. This app is blowing my mind. Easy to use and so easily turning 1000’s of slides into digital memories.
Thanks. Great App Great to be able to see as pictures some slides that were taken 50 years ago
Five Star Slide App. This app is great for bringing old slides into the modern world using your own phone!
Great App. Found this to be so easy to use and the quality excellent, especially when i built a small frame to reduce the hand movement. Recommended!!
SlideScan. Such a good app to digitize my old slides. Easy to use with my phone and the cropping is genius. Thank you
Excellent app. Quick and easy the go command is a brilliant idea allowed for better focus First ever review on any app highly recommend
Quick and easy. SlideScan is easy to use and you can scan slides quickly for acceptable quality digital files. Resolution and colour accuracy is limited by the quality of your phone camera and is not as good as what you can achieve with a DSLR camera + macro lens or a dedicated slide scanner. For the price though, the app is good value.
Great app. First time used app to scan some old slides and the effort was minimal but results were great, thankyou fabulous app
Sceggs darling old slides. Seems easy to use and navigate.
Shirley. I have been delighted with this app. We did not have a camera for photos when our children were young and so have only slides with no projector. Aged 85 we have now a lovely collection of photos to hand on to our children and grandchildren. Thankyou
Love it!!!!. Parents can now see their old slides
Slides toDigital. I love this app so much. It’s so easy to convert slides to digital. I am loving all the happy memories
Only good for six thumb nails. Free version is not much use. Can’t download the images to photos for closer look. Full version is quite expensive and I don’t know if it will be satisfactory. Sly marketing in my view.
At last !. I have been waiting for what seems like years for something as quick and simple to use as this App. Quality results . Great product .
Resolution is very low on iPad mini. Maybe better on a good phone.. Very difficult to accurately point a tripod mounted iPad to cover the slide. Raising or lowering or rotating tripod head can be confusing and getting the slide oriented portrait or landscape needs to be set and remembered for the next slide. I mounted slide at front of a tube with a LED light shining into and turned room lights off to avoid extraneous light on the front of the slide. Long axis still only 2172 pixels and would not stand zooming in.
Fantastic Slide Saver. Easy to install & use especially with a light box.
Easy to use. Pretty good for most slides. Some of the dark slides don’t come out too well, but overall good results
Happy.. Works well but only just started. Looking forward to more downloads when I get my slides in order. Happy to see where I’ve been and with whom.
Frustrating. I reckon I’ve tried to purchase this 20 times but it’s not working. Also it’s a complete scam that you can only use it on one of your devices and have to pay extra if I want it on my phone and iPad.
Family colour positives and monochrome negatives. A brilliant little tool for preserving our family treasures from 70+ years ago
Memory Gem. So happy to be able to go through all these old memories and share them on a more accessible platform with everyone.
Love seeing all these old slides!. My grandparents have recently passed away and had a heap of old slides in their cupboards. It has been so wonderful to be able to see all these old photos and reminisce with family. The app is so easy to use and the slides come out perfectly!
Great App. Works so easily and works for photos too. Love it
Easy as. Amazing simple and instant
SlideScan app. Fantastic tool to use to store old slides in digital format. Even better if you use their optional “free “ white light I pad sized gadget they mail to you if you sign up for a year . Can set up about 12 slides on the light while using your I phone to scan the individual slides . Very happy with results from some 40 year old slides I had stashed away from a working trip to Antarctica ! Bought back great memories !
Fantastic. Brilliant app for archiving old family pics. Highly recommended
Old slides come to life.. Fun time! Our v old slides not viewed for years. Now able to send them to family featured. Surprise !
Brilliant. Mum gave me 1000s of old slides that we couldn’t view So easy to get them all onto my phone.
Fabulous. Top quality, my family are having many laughs over the slides they haven’t seen, most taken 1960s

Great scanning option for slides!. Really does a good job of scanning old slides and putting them into a shareable digital format.
Memories of another lifetime. I waited decades for an affordable and practical way to transfer thousands of slides. Thank you.
Plus besoin de scanneur. On utilise un support pour tenir la diapositive , on l’installe face à l’écran blanc sur notre ordinateur (white screen by Photomyne) et on prend une photo avec apps de notre IPhone ! 😉
Slide scan. Images are not sharp and app requires additional payments to remove adds
love it and wish that my father had kept our family slides so that I could have saved them this way!. This app is easy to use and I am enjoying seeing our 30+ year old slides again!
Fraud !!. This app offers you a 3 days free trial but then they charge you after 10 hours even thought I canceled my membership. Good luck getting your money back !!! 😡😡😡
Terrible. Terrible. The slides I scanned were very blurry and the colour distorted. Was excited when I saw this but but was let down very quickly.
Mixed review. The developers clearly have some talent, but marketing and customer service isn’t among them. What are otherwise pretty good apps by photomyne are spoiled by their snotty responses and confusing messaging. I have paid subscriptions to two of their apps - FilmBox and SlideScan. They do a pretty good job of digitizing photos from negatives and slides. I’d like to use their cloud service, but apparently - from all I can gather from their short, snotty responses and referrals back to their faq (which does nothing to answer the questions) you must have a Photomyne Account to do that. And it appears that purchasing one or two photomyne apps and registering both with an email address via their in app purchase, does not constitute having a photomyne account. You *also* need to purchase their Photomyne photo scanning app in order to have access to the cloud storage. Three things are consistent throughout the Photomyne app experience - you can see this in the reviews of all of the Photomyne apps: 1. The apps core functions are well designed. 2. The cost to get the promoted functionality is obscured by the developers almost to the point of being a scam. They will deny this, and further obfuscate their intentions by saying “we clearly told you so” when in fact, nothing is clear. 3. The developers responses are rude and generally unhelpful. I’d give the apps a 4 star rating, the cost is plenty once you figure it out - so that part gets a 2 star rating, and their communications are so bad that overall this barely rates one star.
SlideScan. Am not able to get it working on my iPhone 6 Plus
👍👍👍. Works excellent! Happy I found the app
Excellent quality & easy to use!. Helped me to easily scan prized slides & throw away hundreds of others.
Very useful gizmo. I have millions of slides to digitize and this app makes my task so Much easier and quicker. It is almost painless. Thank you for creating this little program… it has replaced my huge desktop scanner
Not bad. My slides required quite a bright light so their background app didn’t cut it. I used an LED lamp
Slide Scan. Awesome app was able to relive the memories of my Grandfather’s dedication to photography
Use Camera. My iPhone 7s+ camera did a better quality job without the app. I believe it adds an unnecessary sharpen filter which pixelates the pictures. The app does recrop and kinda retint fast, but it's easy to do a square recrop without it. I never encourage these apps with reoccurring hard to cancel app fees. This should be sold at a one time 5 to max 10$ fee.
All I Expected. Easy to use and does a great job
Superbe. Très facile à utiliser et efficace
Careful with what you buy. Be careful with this one. There’s a window to cancel the subscription once you sign up for the free trial. I cancelled within the window and I still got dinged for a whole month. Not exactly fair. Why did I cancel? What exactly am I going to do with a two megapixel scan? It’s not even big enough to upload on my phone. Not only that you have to hand hold the slide, and handhold your phone. How are you going to be able to keep both of them at a parallel orientation to get a clear scan? Answer, you can’t. Also, both hands are going to be wiggly and moving. The whole idea is utterly ridiculous.
Efficace..
Tops. Tops in scanning thank you folks
Worst app ever!!!. Terrible. Please avoid this scamming product. Waste of money!
Free app drives you crazy. The free app has so many pop ups and limitations that I gave up on trying to see how it works. Not buying based on pure principle
Pretty darn good. Easy to use and improves old slides!
Slick. Simple. Easy. Slick.
Doesn’t work. Doesn’t work. Pics are always blurry
Slide scan. From what I have tried and observed when you blow the slide up and the background light requirements it is a poor quality program. Another thing is that it only will work on my iPad on the vertical way and not on the horizontal way.
Misleading presentation. This is not a free app with in-app purchase... it has a free trial but you have to pay to use it
Pictures. Let’s try it out so far so good
Good product. Easy to use. Pretty good quality. Fast.
En général c’est très bon. Beaucoup de diapositives sont trop foncées. Ça serait vraiment bien de pouvoir les éclaircir. J’espère que le nombre de pixels augmentera. Les photos numérisées seront plus nettes.
Best free app. I tried a few app but this one is the best
Solution que j attendais. Pour classer des centaines de photos des années 70. @ 85. ♥️
Nice. Well done
SlideScan. Super easy to use
Love it!. Great quality
Good app with a few flaws. Great app, wish I could select multiple images at once, it's a bit tedious to have go through the same series of steps for every image. Also, if you want to select an image from your phone, you can't pick by album, you can only pick from all your photos
Don’t get this app!. This app is designed to hold you and your photos captive, and to find numerous ways to charge you for even the most mundane features. Avoid it!
Bait and switch. Downloaded, then scanned a dozen slides… then unable to save or send without a subscription called optional. Unable to tell from the tiny image if the quality is worth anything. Bait and switch. If zero stars were possible… The “optional in-app purchase” is required to use any features other than scan. Ergo, it is NOT optional.
Pretty good. Like what it does on the free version. I’m sure it’s better on the upgrade.
Easy. I used my laptop screen as the light background, opened up a blank Word document and turned the brightness up. Make sure your laptop is plugged in, this will ensure maximum brightness. Blurry photos of slides were from Des by me retaking the picture, and pulling the camera back always from the slide…. Too close and they become blurry. Slides with a dark or black background may show a reflection of your phone as you’re taking the picture. My iPhone is white, so masking it with black paper b4 taking photos of the slides removed the reflection of my phone. I also found tilting the slides slightly can make a difference with picture quality; it isn’t always requires but seemed to help in some cases.
Blurry. Very poor image quality. I am deleting this app.
SlideScan. Fantastic!! Works easily and exactly how you need it. Saves and colors and brightens. Thank you!!!
Merveilleux. Je capote. Je viens tout juste de découvrir cette application et je suis vraiment heureuse de m’amuser avec mes vieilles photos. C’est génial. Merci beaucoup.
Photomyne. Horrible app. Not user friendly. Very difficult to navigate around.
Works great.. Love this app. It does cost a bit tho….
Photomine slide app. Great though i havent yet used for slides. Used it for a b&w print though not designed for- just needed it to do a positive from a positive and worked well.
Cant access without paying for a subscription. It would be good if they were upfront and explained the subscription cost before downloading and using.
Slide App. Absolutely impressed !
Terrific app!. Does what it says it does, very well!

Thank you!
Simply amazing. It just works. Would I use it to send wildlife pics to National Geographic? Probably not. But I am amazed at the quality from handholding a phones as a scanner. Dust removal is automatic which alone is worth the cost. For the 20,000 or so family and travel slides I have from the 50’s-90’s I can’t imagine a better or easier way to digitally capture and share.
Wonderful App for transferring Old Slides.. Love this app for transferring 35 mm slides. Easy to use and includes options for sharpening faces and improving lighting through use of filters. Saved hundreds of dollars by doing this myself. I’ve been waiting to do this for years and finally accomplished the task with little effort, thanks to this app. Highly recommended.
Slide Scan - Very pleased.. A friend told me this app works well. I agree that it is a very good product. I particularly liked the “go” feature. I was able to use a slide sorter to hold the slide with appropriate back lighting. If I didn’t have that I would have made some type of fixture, rather than hold the slide in one hand while the phone in an other.
Amazing. There are so few apps out there to preserve memories in pictures from negatives and slides. I’m so happy to be able to see great pictures from slides that were once stored for so long in a box and to get them in digital format now is a godsend. Finally something i can print pictures from, overjoyed!
My slide scan treasures. I have several slides I really wanted to share but it would take weeks to have photos made. In less than 10 minutes from down loading app to sending via text messaging I was done. Thank you SlideScan now to find more of my old slides and upgrade to scan even more! Love what I’ve done so far.
Awesome App. This slide scanner app is fabulous. I have boxes of slides that have been just stuck away at the top of closets for years and years and years, that I got when my mother passed away. It probably just took me an hour to go through an entire carousel and scan all of them, and now they are saved to my computer. So much fun!
Lock on taking pics. I like this app and I purchased it BUT after I took some pics the first day it blocked me from adding anymore and it’s still locked????? I was excited but now I’m just annoyed. How long to get an answer? A friend just informed me a limit during free trial. I couldn’t find that info but I’ll assume it’s correct. Tomorrow is pay day so hopefully I’m back on. UPDATE: I was having issues but it got fixed. Thank you!
Easy to use, accurate photos. I was able to capture a number of slides quickly and the quality of the slide copies was very good. It would be great to have more options for editing pictures and an option to send them directly to somewhere other than email.
I love this app!. When my dad died years ago he had the largest camera collection of any private collector in the world. He would have loved the ability to scan his thousands of slides so easily. Now, after 11 years, I can scan them and see what he took photos of. It’s not just a cool app for me, it’s a connection to someone’s life who is no longer here.
Fantastic slide scanner!. I have acquired my grandmother’s and great grandfather’s photos and slides. This slide scanning app works incredibly well and is easy to use. The resolution is very high and pictures are crisp. The trick is that you have to hold both your phone and the slide very still. I put the slide on a clip and stood it on a small box in front of the computer screen and the held the phone against my iPad stand in front of it. Works really well!
No info on pixel numbers. I expect to be told how many pixels it gives. I can’t tell if I’ll get 320x240 or 4K. Also no info on file type. JPG? If so, what quality level? JPGs come in about 11 quality types. Are these 3 or 8? And I can’t get my test scan to inspect it without signing up for the free trial which involves giving them be credit-card info. I’m not giving out my credit-card number until I get the pixel-depth number. Looking like a pig in a poke. May delete it.
A good app!. Works very well but some equipment is required. I used a Cabin CL-5000L film viewer, Tripod, smartphone clamp, ball head, and helping hands solder tool to get consistent results. You really need a slide viewer for this app. All the other stuff assures consistent results. Not easy to do with two hands, so all the other equipment helps at holding the phone and slide. The magic crop tool does a good job at bringing old slide images back to life. Prosumer photo enthusiasts will want more, but for the rest of us this app is seemingly magical. Much faster than a flatbed scanner and much, much cheaper than a bellows slide duplicator with full frame mirrorless camera body and adapter. I have a lot of slides to do and this will speed things up!
Saving the past. Ever grateful to SlideScan for taking the tedium out of scanning old slides! After trying with a home scanner that took 15 minutes per slide, NOT including editing, I can do about 5 slides a minute with SlideScan, and most of the editing has been done for me! The publishers don’t give adequate how-to instructions that I have been able to find, but it’s pretty easy to figure out.
Got the Job Done. It was easy to figure out the program and it has many nice features like auto cropping, sharpening and filters. Many slides were not clear and often blurry when subjects in slides were farther away. The slides were in focus but not the final photo. Close ups worked great. Also I got a weird coloration and lines on my photos because of the white screen and camera on iPhone? Had to take several to eliminate that problem at times. Appreciated the three-day free trial.
Beginner review. Boy boy this is a pleasure from the start. Download was easy and I got right into downloading from my old strips of film and slides. This is a joy I sent some pictures via messenger and I will enjoy surprising my friends i’m in palliative care with cancer, this has put energy into my life and fun can’t thank you enough this is a great app. Thank you again sincerely Gil Turner
Works fine but cannot cancel or contact company. I realized these crooks are charging me $6.99 each month (3 months and counting in addition to what I paid for a one time use) even though I did not sign up for a recurring plan, and Apple does not show that I have a subscription. And, there is no way to contact them except to send an email (no response) or a messenger service with their app (no response). If you download and use this app greater—you may be paying for it for a long time with no way to contact whoever these people are.
Super easy to use!. We tried the 3 day trial and it worked so well we have extended for at least 1 month. We used a light box, not because of shaking, but your arm does get tired. The light box allowed us to line up 6 slides at a time. Once we put them on our phone/iPad it was much easier viewing. We went thru 8 slide reels from the early 70’s in just a few days. Great program!
Amazing access to family history. I was afraid this app would disappoint us with a lack of quality in the final photos. Instead, we are dancing around, showing our old slides as beautifully colored photos. Our children and grandchildren are amused to see our ancient antics. I’m telling people our age who might have dusty boxes of slides mouldering in the closet. Great app!
This app is wonderful!. My parents passed away and we found boxes and boxes of slides from our past. I still have the old projector and screen and tried to go through them. Just wasn’t the same thrill as it was when I was a kid… I discovered this app and I am now converting all those slides that can easily be shared with family.
Bate and switch. I wanted to try the app and was able to do some slides. Then I was locked out and had to purchase to continue. It showed 3days free. I only had 20 slides to scan so I cancelled the annual subscription. It said if I resubscribed my subscription would start a year from now. Not sure to take that as needed to protect their business or just spiteful. Also followed a link to “free” PhotoScan software and was again taken to a subscription page for another annual plan. Not happy with the business model of Photomyne.
Access. If I paid for access I should be able to at least sign on to see my slides. I hate having to sign up for trials every time I wanted to explore your site. Today I wanted to show a friend how cool Your site was and I had to reenroll just to show her. What a bummer You really need to change that
Be careful. I canceled my test after using it for only ten minutes. I did this because i felt it needs a proper slide viewer to use it, but they don't make that clear. I absolutely did cancel my trial period, deleted the app, and i actually got a message from photomyne saying they received the cancellation. 4 days later, the App store charged me the full $40. I complained to Apple. They wouldn't help me. Be careful, this site is a trap. If you don't believe me, look at the other recent reviewers who report being charged after they cancelled, just like me. Photomyne, i want my $40 back!!
Best out there. Tons of family photos, didn’t want to buy another scanner. This app does way better than anticipated and is an easy, fast way to archive all those moments from way back when. Highly recommend (and fwiw, I’m a formally trained photographer / artist and absurdly picky about color correction, grain size, etc).
Love it!. This app has brought our 50 year old (plus in many cases) slides back to life! The ability to colorize and then save on an iPhone is amazing. Have shared memories with several family members and strongly considering going ad free since there are several hundred waiting in our possession for this application!!
A Marvel!!. Back before digital photography, Like everyone else, I too gobs & gobs of slides and photos. I’ve wanted to find a quick & easy way to digitize them……and now I’ve found it!! This app is stupendous!! So so quick, and it couldn’t be easier. Today I digitized over 300 slides in just a few hours. I’m super pumped!
Convenient Slide Saving. To save beloved images for everyday digital use, this is an easy, reasonably priced option. No scanner needed, just your smartphone. No fancy slide tray needed, just your fingers. Find a backlight and you can scan a slide image and send to friend in less than a minute. If you have a stack of slides, you can digitize then at a rate of 5 or more per minute. Highly recommended!
UPDATE: Macro Mode - Awesome!. I needed closer looks at 100+ slides and this really helped. Feedback update: I just used the app with my iPhone 6S. I put my own Moment macro lens on my phone and the photos of my slides are much better. Much sharper! I recommend using this app in macro mode. If you don’t have a macro lens then consider the one sold by Photomyne. At under $40 it seems like a bargain.
So far so good. Converting close to 1800 slides. I opted for. A DIY approach so I could edit on the front end. I didn’t need to do every last one. Lots of stuff just not important. Scenery. Duplicates and some poor quality pic from over 30 /40 years ago. Best part was the automatic editing of eliminating the cardboard holder. That alone is worth the trouble.
Tearfully happy. I added the app months ago and finally found the slides I needed to scan...what a smile it brought to my heart to be able to see clearly the few childhood photos that were left of me. 50 yrs later I can again see them again and imagine the click of the projector. Thank you.
Finally!!!!. I have very few images of myself and two other siblings at very young ages. I somehow was able to save a few slides as a teenager in fear that they would be gone one day. Now at the age of 61 and my father, mother and brother now gone, it is just me and my sister on this earth. This morning I downloaded this new app and scanned the few slides that I have been treasuring for all these years. My father was the photographer in the family at the time and I followed in his footsteps as I have aged. Let’s just say that my camera will leave this earth with me as it did my father but these slides will live on. Thanks goes out to Photomyne/SlideScan. Sincerely, Afton Merrifield Rodriguez
Works like magic. This app works like magic. I attempted to manually photograph my old slides at first. It was extremely time consuming due to placement. With this app I just pop the slide up there and it not only doesn’t care about proper placement, it recognizes the slide frame and discounts it as well as touches up the photo. I am really enjoying this project. I have slides that are 45 years old and the digital reproductions are turning out great!
Saved Our Family Photos. This App saved our family photos which were in slide form. They had been kept in many boxes in a storage unit in England. We live in the US. With this App, we captured each image safely, and could release the slides themselves with love, before our return trip. Thank you.
Lots of Fun, Very Useful!. Because of this app, my family and I are enjoying images of our family history that we have never seen before. There is a little bit of a learning curve to scan the slides in fine detail, but I’m learning. This app is definitely worth having if you have a lot of old, but precious, slides in your possession!
5,000 slides to go. The app is very easy to use and convenient. And I love that it does not automatically get stored onto your phone, rather it goes to the photomyne website. However, you do need proper lighting to capture the image better. I ordered the photomyne backlight thinking it would be better
Missing Something. Responded to an ad on Facebook and I should have known better. The free app scans my slides. I only had a few boxes so not into a long commitment. Needless to say I was disappointed to find the scans don’t go directly into your phone, but are held hostage until you purchase something else to actually have a photo in hand. I could go into other aspects of the app, but I’m deleting it quickly as it keeps asking for my apple password. Perhaps I’m missing something … but I don’t have the patience to ask.
Great Slide App!. Like lots of folks, we had 2500 or more slides. Who still breaks out the projector for a slide show? I adapted a slide viewer to hold the phone and with the Slide Scan app, I was able to quickly digitize the entire collection! It automatically crops just the image window and even rotated them to be square since my rig was slightly off. Simple, fast, and priced right, I highly recommend this app.
The convenience of a hand-held scanner…. I shot slides for 30 years and slowly embraced digital cameras 20 years ago. The cost of having scanning done commercially of thousands of slides became prohibitive. But the convenience of having a hand-held scanner on my iPhone revived my interest in seeing those ancient slides. In lectures I’ve given as a professor, I have endorsed the SlideScan App with enthusiasm.
Amazing app!. Really easy to use. It scanned in a tiny format slide and did a wonderful job sharpening it up too. I was able to do it with their white screen background on my computer and just holding the slide. It might be easier to use their tool or some other one to hold a slide steady, but I didn’t need it.
Works great!. Wow this is so easy! I’ve had a pile of slides that I’ve been meaning to send out to get turned into prints or scanned or something… I found an old light box and just copied about 100 slides in about 10 minutes! Wonderful! I signed up for the two-year plan because I have a lot left to scan!
Insanely good! (wish there was short sub). It's good... *really* good. Use your computer screen as a backlight (about:blank works great) and snap a photo of your slide. This thing crops out the image automatically (and done well). The face sharpening feature is choice, as well. The app itself is spectacular. My only request would be to offer a shorter term subscription. Maybe a week-long?
Don't bother. Expected something completely different than what was portrayed in the ad. You can do the same thing yourself by setting your desktop to a white background at the highest level of brightness. Then hold your slide 2 inches from the PC and snap a picture with your phone. Use any editing software that you have and you've done the same thing as this app. Add one of those clip photo holder stands and you can hold your slide steadily in front of the PC. I found the app difficult to use and would rather invest in a stand alone scanning machine from Kodak than this app.
So-so. I feel like this is just ok. There are limitations to this method. With slides that are dark the app thinks I forgot to use a backlight even though I am and I have the brightness on my screen up to 100%. Then on top of that I can see the reflection of my camera on the image I am trying to take. The only way to not have the camera reflection is to tilt the camera which means the slide scan will come out skewed. With slides that are lit very very and brightly this wasn’t an issue.
Great app. At first I was skeptical, but I was impressed how the app was able to upload my old 1 inch by 1 inch slides. These slides or old more than 50 years and it was able to restore some of them. Some of them not so much but still came out great for being old slides. Would recommend this app
Superb service. App had a problem so notified support group. Response was from Lara early next day, recognized, were working on a fix that would be available following week. Also said would notify me. Three days later had email from Lara - fix available as download. It was, and as promised, fixed the problem. Response and outstanding communication was superb. Thanks Lara.
🫤. This app does a good job of converting old slides to digital. My problem is that when I’m done, I can’t delete my photos in the app and cancel my subscription without the converted photos being deleted from my phone albums. This effectively requires me to maintain my subscription indefinitely 😠
