Excellent.. Switched over from Kasa to Tapo because Tapo had sensors I wanted to add to my system. Loaded the Tapo app and everything from Kasa transferred over pretty much automatically. The Tapo app has more features than the Kasa app and everything Kasa integrated into everything Tapo I added to my system. Tapo app even has a 4 camera on one screen view they never mentioned. I’m much happier with the Tapo and the hardware and automations than I was with the Kasa. Highly recommend switching over even without any Tapo devices.

This app is horrible!. #1 I should’ve stayed with the Kasa app, you could view 24 hrs of captured footage free. The new app does away with that, you have to pay for each camera. That’s why the cameras are so cheap. #2 from last recent update one week ago, rendered my cam system totally unusable. I’m unable to turn my cameras off now. So I’m still getting notifications. Obviously they’re working and on. The app shows that I need to add device and I don’t see cameras at all. One day it glitched and worked as normal. Now I’m not working. I will be doing a way with this system, I’ll buy a Wyse, Blink or anything besides this garbage. Do yourself a favor and do the same. 💯% Junk

Amazing Product. In my opinion, Tapo beats Ring and SimpliSafe camera technology hands down. Most impressive is the WiFi reception. The competition required mesh satellites to connect. Tapo is good at 100’ with current WiFi, the others are limited to the structure. Set up was easy. Fine tuning alarm, sensitivity, etc. was a breeze. The optional solar panel enabled me to place the camera above where a person could disable the unit. As my other systems die, they will be replaced with Tapo units.

Awesome security camera!. I love this camera!! 1) It has the best clarity of any cameras I’ve used before, and this is my fourth brand! 2) Most of the features come free including “AI”, which is a big deal! 3) This camera has 2k or 1080. 4) You can use a microSD card with/without continuous loop feed, or choose a paid subscription. 5) It allows you to choose which things to be alerted of such as people, animals, vehicles, etc. 6) This camera not only has several choices of alarms to choose from, but it also flashes 2 very bright led lights at the culprit! Or, you can disarm the alarm, yet still receive notifications on your cell phone, which easily plays back, right from your cell’s Home Screen. 7) You can connect it to your Alexa or Google. 8) Everything you need for this camera is included in the boxes; I bought 2. They even include several installation options: screws or magnetic. 9) This camera is multi-directional. 10) It has a 2-way mic system. 11) Lastly, this camera is reasonably priced, especially for all of the features it has to offer, and I still haven’t named them all. I highly recommend this camera!

touch sensibility issues and location on the screen. i don’t know where to begin…. i am a long time kasa user and thought I would move forward and this app has issues directly related to developer laziness. Moving around is riddled with ghost affect of thinking you are out of the brightness of the app and then suddenly changing the color while trying to adjust the schedule, then realizing you are changing the kelvin.. if i touch the top of the screen, i am not trying to change the bottom.

This clause poses a significant privacy risk, so please consider this seriously when deciding to place TP-Link cameras in private spaces. Read the terms carefully (located under ‘User Content’ in their Terms of Use) and protect your family’s privacy. Make informed decisions about the security products you install in your home. I seriously regret not knowing these terms. I can think of no valid reason why a company should retain such extensive rights to personal and sensitive data, without an option to delete that data.

Happy New Year to all2025. I have had Tapo 210 camera for the last 2 years and I absolutely adore it. I also have a blink camera which I regret getting, I would love to get another Tapo but due to budgeting I have to wait. Tapo camera has exceeded my expectations and I love that I can pan and tilt the camera the view is absolutely stunningly CLEAR as well as sound. No blurriness whatsoever like the blink and the nightlight is super clear, you’ll need an SD card which I find very useful I have nothing negative to say about Tapo. And best of all the price is very much worth it. Thank you Tapo company and God bless you all.

Terrible Design. This is a terrible app. Constant nag screens about battery life. These cameras are on solar or AC power so the battery isn’t an issue. Get rid of these warnings. Why these cameras can’t be on constantly like real security cameras is a mystery. Sometimes one camera will run for an hour at other times it stops every few minutes. Ridiculous! Don’t bother with their overpriced Internet service. It actually works better if you just use it natively. I found the battery cameras that use a hub are more reliable than the Wi-Fi direct versions. There also seems to be a conflict with the Mac addresses, so I wasn’t able to use more than one WiFi camera of the same type without network conflicts. The battery hub cameras work the best but you’ll need to buy separate solar panels to keep the batteries charged, otherwise you’ll have to get a ladder take them down and charge them every month. It also takes about a day to get a full charge.

New Tapo camera system. I previously had Arlo cameras, and recently had problems trying to reconnect the cameras after resetting the modem. So I decided to purchase new cameras that allow recording onto a flash memory card so I can have a record. I set three cameras up a week ago and everything went smoothly. I installed the flash cards yesterday and that too went smoothly. These new cameras are easy to setup and use. The video is very clear, audio quality is good, and the recording onto the memory cards is working perfectly. I really like these cameras and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a self monitoring security camera at a fair price.

Better than I expected and easy setup. Bought at least three other cameras from other vendors and could never get them to work properly on initial setup attempt. Sometimes they would connect but would not stay connected. All three from different vendors and setup was the same on all of them. They were the dome type. I finally found this one and it was amazing how easy they are to setup and the clarity of the picture is amazing. Better than I was expecting 😊. I bought two at first just to see how they were going to work. After having such a great experience I bought three more

Like it!. I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband and I really like it because I can check on the dogs out back when we’re away and I can also check out front. It’s great when he does go away so I feel I have a sense of security. Recently they stopped working in the sense that they were freezing, but we realized it was really due to the iOS update. Works on the phone, but doesn’t work on the iPad right now. So the app needs to get in sync with the latest iOS update.

LOVE - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I was having so much trouble with my Victure baby monitor camera and decided to try this one. AH-MAZING. You can move up and down and left and right to get a good view. It offers notifications for baby crying and movement detection. The night vision is GREAT. I feel much more secure about keeping an eye on my baby with this camera. Easy set up and the app is so easy to use. If you are thinking about buying the camera that goes with this app- DO IT!

Detection zones won't save..... A few months ago I set a detection zone and saved it. A few weeks later I deleted them and saved it. However now whenever I put the camera into away mode, it reverts back to the previous zones and I have to delete and save every single time now. It won't forget them no matter what i do. Also, every time I want to set the camera to home mode or turn off privacy mode, I get an error message and I have to try again several times before it works. I can be right next to the wifi router, it's not a connection issue. S

Amazing. The Tapo unit is perfect for my need, monitoring a dementia patient. The GREAT performance features and low cost make me wonder why I didn’t do this sooner. Price, no monthly expense, and ability to permanently retain video on SD cards is amazing. My only complaint is the need to hit the button each time past activity is viewed rather than have it locked in the 16X position. Otherwise, there is NOTHING wrong. Thank you, Tapo! I’m going to buy another one (or more) and tell everyone who will listen. 🙂👍

Awesome smart system. I am a tech savvy guy and I like the system and the options. Easy to install and upgrade components in my home surveillance system. With reasonable options that do not require monthly subscriptions I am happy with Tapo and Kasa products and the fact they very easily partner with my IPhone! I almost got ride of my IPhone but now I will stay with IPhone because of my home surveillance and smart home accessories.

So far so good. I have made the transition from google home and their cameras to the new tapo cams and so far I am not regretting that choice. I grew tired of googles horrible camera experience along with wasting money on their expensive products that only worked good in the beginning. I’m so glad I found this company. The tapo app is pretty easy to use, I like the how easy it is to create smart routines. The cameras are definitely better quality and the night vision is superb! One suggestion is maybe add the option for dark mode for the app. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to being a long term customer.

One of the best smart device app I’ve used. Truly a great app to control all of your Tapo devices. The ONLY complaint I have, if I HAD to find one… would be the lack of an app for Apple Watch. I use Tapo plugs for our Christmas lights, tree, village, etc., some lights around the house, and our doorbell. I would purchase many more Tapo products, if I was able to tap on my watch to turn things on and off. PLEASE consider Apple Watch support!!!

Wyzecam replacement. Have 3 Wyzecam V3’s which work ok but needed another camera to surveil the side of the house where the wifi enters. Need quick notification time in case someone cuts the line. This Tapo Magcam C425 seems to work as well as I could expect. The app found and automatically added the Kasa smart switch receptacle which is really great to minimize apps. As far as the camera goes I don’t think the battery is replaceable so when it no longer takes a charge the whole thing is toast. Hopefully this will be years. The Wyze outdoor battery pro has a replaceable battery pack but needs a hated subscription for features the Tapo app has for free.

Very happy with this camera Tapo C11. I am no stranger to indoor and outdoor cameras as a regular consumer. I have a family and dogs and have tried numerous brands and different solutions and always seemed to be let down in certain situations like connectivity or reliability. I am very happy with Tapo C211 cameras. I bought those to try them on since they were on great sale and I’m telling you that they work great, very good quality and seem reliable when it comes to connectivity and notifications. I definitely recommend them.

Yes. Agains my better judgment I put the camera up with only the adhesive provided….I got a video of the camera falling to the ground. But after using provided screws I installed like I should have and it has been awesome. Buy a memory chip along with the purchase though since it will not record anything only current footage! Or you can buy the “unlimited recording” like I did, price depends on how many devices you have

Works well could add flexibility. Sets up and works really well. Will work with TP Kasa line as well. It’s great to be able to schedule based on sunrise or sunset however for my TP Kasa outdoor KP400 smart plug the scheduling only allows on/off up to 1 hour before or after sunrise or sunset. Other plugs ( my TP Tapo TP15) allow a longer time. Would like to see the scheduling enhanced for all models of plug to schedule a longer time before or after sunset. I would like to turn on my deck lights at sunset and turn the them off 4 hours later.

On the way to greatness, but with hiccups. This app is pretty intuitive and I love how easy it is to set up devices with the onscreen instructions and built-in manuals. There are deficiencies, however, with regards to what you can do with a lot of their devices when writing automations. One example, is that you can't toggle notifications of sensors (motion, contact, etc) so that you're not pestered with them when you're at home. I've had to many create more automations as a workaround, which brings us to the 128 shortcut and/or automation limit. I wouldn't be hitting this limit if they just enrich the list of "actions" in automation. Another issue is scrolling hiccups – probably a result of having too many automations. If you have too many motion sensors going off frequently, you know, because your family is actually living in the building the sensors are installed in, you'll keep getting battery drain warning notifications about that per device! No way of turning it off. I have (custom) wired up a lot of my devices to 3v DC adapters so I'm not expecting power issues. Finally, regarding the company: I accidentally emailed their support team from a long-standing email address that never sends outgoing mail, just receives them. Within a week I'm bombarded with spam emails for the first time. They leaked my email address!!

Love this gadget. I just bought this little gem of a gadget. I needed something to spy on my little troublemaker chihuahua and it did not fail me!! The motion detection is awesome, as soon as Manny makes a move “Manny’s Nanny” sends me a motion detection alert on my phone, so I can see what he’s up to!! The range of motion is excellent and the clarity of the picture is top notch for such a small device. It allows you to zoom in for a better look. Definitely worth the money for the camera quality and tech abilities. But worth even more for the entertainment factor of watching my dog get into mischief!

GREAT!!!!. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on cameras to keep a eye on things at home and keep a eye on my dogs! I got a set of two cameras for a very good price and it was super easy to set up!! The motion detection is amazing it alerts me when there is a person or motion! I am able to talk to my dogs from 20 miles away!! I love the camera set up! It’s amazing and very affordable!! Thank you for making it possible for me without having to spends hundreds of dollars!!!

Two people signing in on one account. This app would be great however I do NOT like how two people can’t be signed into one account and both of them get full access to all features! That is my only complaint! My sister and I share a house and because the cameras came in while I was at work I had her go ahead and set them up well she did and when I got home I just signed into the account she made. It kicked her off and when she would sign in on her phone it would kick me off so she had to share it with me in order for us both to be able to watch the cameras BUT she gets full access to all features and I do NOT. THE ONLY THING I CAN DO FROM MY PHONE IS WATCH AND REPLAY THATS IT!!!!! can you please fix it to where both people in the home gets full access to all the features!

Best camera. This is the best camera ever! I think it’s for outdoors but I use it inside my home by the door and I can see my living room and kitchen and other places. I love that you can record, take photos, and the sound quality is awesome! I love that it has lights you can turn on and that the alarm has light or sound. It’s loud too. I love that I can speak to intruders on a speaker and it even makes a phone call. I can zoom in and see far away. And it has a wide range. That’s so wonderful it can detect people and pets. Cars too. This camera can stick with Alexa. It’s the best camera ever.

Great camera. Is it a little difficult to set up at first. The reason was I did not push the plug far enough in to the camera. After I did that everything worked out. Takes good pictures very active and sensitive. if you live in a Highwind area and have items moving around on your porches, etc. it will set off the camera as if they were somebody there it’s setting the motion. Haven’t figured out how to resolve that yet because we have Highwinds.

Great camera, great price. I’ve been using the camera for a week now. It took no time to set up the 2 cameras and connect them to my Wi-Fi, maybe 5 total minutes. It does a great job in the daylight and in the dark picking up any movement. I like that it differentiates between motion and a person. The app is also easy to use. Overall, the cameras were a great addition to make me feel secure in my home.

THE VERY BEST VPN SERVICE. I’ve tried almost every top 10 VPN Services or Company’s and Express VPN has been the best in so many categories…. Password Generation, 94-97 Country’s of VPN’s to choose from, 24/7 Human Support, Coverage for 5 Devices $100 a Year, Simple Password Protection, Protected Internet Searching and I could keep going & going & going on about the BENEFITS but I will let you figure out EXPRESS VPN IS THE BEST!!!! Norton wanted $350 a year for the same service & Mcafee wanted $400 plus for the same service but only coverage of 3 devices.

Best Home or Business Security System. The best money I have ever spent on a product. Please include a option to store all images and video of possible intruders in the cloud. Also in night vision an option to turn in the camera as flash light to capture the complete face of the person. If there was back up power battery bank, so if power goes off it can still be recording even with out WiFi signal, that would be nice.

Easy to use!. This device was easy to set up. The installed app is also easy to navigate. I especially like how I was able to incorporate my kasa devices so that I only have one app to use. Setting up the camera with a new sod card was a breeze. All you have to do is put in the new sd card and the camera does the rest. Highly recommend this camera for anyone looking for a camera that gives quality images and easy to setup.

Nice Cameras. I did a lot of research before I bought these I’m March 2023. They are very easy to set up and the app is very functional. Clear picture and zoom feature is nice. Negatives Voice from the camera to your phone is fine. Voice from you phone to the camera in not really good and choppy. Not a deal breaker as I bought those to watch my dog and I’d call the police if I seen someone. With that said, you can be notified anytime there is motion within the camera view or not be notified. There is an alarm that can be set to go off but it’s not loud and sounds like a child’s toy. I just keep it off and call the police if needed. Overall, wifi is great but does require a plug or outlet. App is also great at managing multiple cameras. Storage is nice on the SD card or you can put in the cloud for a price of course. I do recommend these cameras as they have many other attachments to the system you can buy.

Amazing!!!!. I bought this camera to watch my kittens while My husband and I are at work. We have two dogs who have never been around such small kittens so we just wanted to keep a watchful eye on the kitty’s. We put them in our empty guest room and use this camera to peek in. One of the kittens does not use the litter box properly every time and one of them doesn’t get a lot of food bc he is pushed out of the way. This camera has allowed us to have such peace of mind when leaving our newly adopted babies. The quality is great and even the night vision is amazing!! I love the amount of features the camera offers and is so nice to be able to move the camera around to see the entire bedroom! Something our others camera do not have! Definitely will be buying a couple more of these for our house soon!!! If you’re debating on buying it, just buy it. You will NOT be dissatisfied!! Amazing quality and provides such peace of mind 🐈‍⬛🫶🏻

Smart lights aren’t smart at all. Very limited themes. Can only seem to be able to edit the two terrible default themes and not creat new ones. Timing and transition options are really limited in themes. More importantly, themes cannot be applied to a group of lights, nor can the lights seem to act in unison with one another. When using to control a group of lights the functionality is even more limited. Can’t apply a theme (such as cycling through the rainbow of colors) to a group of lights at once. Instead, you have to click into each individual bulb and set the theme, and none of the bulbs are in sync with one another. It is a terrible user experience and looks terrible. If you’re looking for cheap smart RGB lights, the Feit RGB lights are pretty much the same and the app can do much more and the lights are way easier to control. I sent back the 20 lights I bought since they have no group smart functionality.

MOST DEPENDABLE SMART HOME SOLUTION AVAILABLE @ a reasonable cost‼️. I now have over 1 page of switches, dimmers, and now a C-120 camera on the Tapo app! With dusk-to-dawn timers, clock timers, TP-Link has made the task of operating a smart home so easy + Alexa NEVER gets it wrong! The C-120 camera was a test to compare it with the Wyze v3 camera. It is NOTICEABLY better, especially it’s audio pickup. In fact, the mikes & speaker are far superior to the v3! Unfortunately, I have a number of Wyze cameras, so replacing all of them will be quite a project. TP-LINK IS A WINNER ‼️

Frustrating. I set up my cameras just before leaving the country and i use the cameras to view my house every once in a while from a different country. For some reason just today i went to check out the cameras and to my surprise it says network unstable. Couldnt figure out what was going on, i uninstalled the app and tried to relogin only to find out that my cameras are nowhere to be found anymore. Now i have cameras just dangling as decorations. Word of advice. If youre like me who tries to keep an eye on their property from a different country, dont uninstall the app cause youre definitely gonna lose those cameras. And theres no way of being able to reconnect to the cameras without having to be in front of the cameras physically. And im not spending thousands of dollars just to reconnect. So yeah was a great app until now. Just went through the reviews and one other person has a similar problem to what i have. If true, the recent update might be the issue and should be fixed. Cant believe this happened just because of an update.

So far its been WONDERFUL. I bought these at a great price in hopes that I’d made the right decision. I could see the quality of the video from a customers review and I was convinced to try it. It is hands down thee best decision I’ve made in purchasing cameras for my salon (this isn’t my first rodeo). I’m so glad I gave Tapo a try. The quality is great, and you get so many features, features that I never thought I’d like to have since my last camera purchase didn’t offer these things. I’m very pleased!!

Doesn't allow for prolonged viewing. Mostly good camera and features but the super annoying part is that it cuts out very often to say that you haven't performed any operations in 5 mins and asks if you'd like to continue viewing. I timed it this morning. It asked every 2 mins! Highly irritating when you use the camera for extended viewing times (1 hr+) like we do. There is absolutely no way to change this setting so that it will run longer before cutting out. Please consider adding this capability!

Wish the all icons are available regardless the device. Hopefully they’ll update to make all icons available for all devices, right now the icons are specific to each device. ex Kasa plug have different icon than tapo plug. The app is easy to use, automation is flexible and not complicated. Trigger + if statement so it’ll automatically do anything I possibly need. Add some way to organize the automation for each room would be great since it’s very likely to have a lot of automation when you expend the devices.

Technology moves along. I have a couple of old security cameras that have seen better days, so I decided to try the newest TP-Link one. Much easier to set up than the old ones, and this control app is a definite improvement. Minor issues were that the shortcut was initially confusing (it isn’t an “Apple Shortcut” but is a stand-alone widget), and that using it to set/clear privacy mode only shows a *tiny* dot to indicate success (needs to be bigger and more visible). But these aren’t deal-breakers. The cloud video storage is good value, but you don’t have to use it. A bonus is that the notification of any motion will go to your Apple watch if you have one. Highly recommended.

Good app, slightly irritating UX. Tapo app has good performance and features. I don’t have and issues with login or lag when connecting to my Tapo camera. It’s also nice that I can link to Kasa and manage all my devices together in Tapo. The full-screen notifications in the app are a bit too much. I am fully aware that I could activate two-factor authentication, but it doesn’t seem necessary for cameras that I’m using in my shed and garage. And having a sale promo pop up when I open the app actually makes me less inclined to buy another Tapo camera. I’m just trying to quickly check my garage door and shed before I go to bed, and these are just getting in my way.

Good, but needs Apple Watch support, security & usability improvements. I switched from another brand to TP-Link Tapo Matter smart plugs, outlet extenders, light switches, etc and have 70+ IoTs. I use the app to initially install and upgrade the firmware before connecting the device to Apple Home. ➀ Sometimes an IoT shows as perpetually “Not Responding” or upgrading; however, it is still connected and controllable via the Tapo app. I don’t carry my phone around the house, so it needs an Apple Watch app and Complication support for adding to watch faces. ➁ App needs to add biometric option for opening. For ease of use, it remembers WiFi credentials. If the phone is improperly accessed or stolen, WiFi security is compromised. ➂ A usability improvement needed is allowing for ordering IoTs in the app within rooms. As mentioned, I have MANY and other IoT apps (SmartLife, Meross, etc) allows the user to order devices in each room → at least order them alphabetically so devices aren’t so difficult to locate.

Love it!!. This camera is awesome. It moves wherever a person moves. You can put it virtually anywhere. You can also pan/tilt from your app once it’s downloaded. It also Records since you notifications to your phone when there’s movement in your home. It’s a really pretty cool camera. I love it. I love it. I love it. Lol A friend of mine seen it and said he’s going to get one because his doesn’t do what mine does. Once again, I love it.!!🥰

Awesome camera. We use it to monitor a family member with the early stages of dementia. We get alerts on our phone for motion detection and can notify them not to leave the house alone or alert a sleeping family member that he’s attempting to get out. The speaker isn’t the greatest but we have alternative in-home communication on our smart devices and apps. Still learning the pan and tilt functions to optimize our viewing angles. Might get another to put outside the apartment door so we can check deliveries and visitors without rushing to the door.

Doesn’t truly bridge gap between KASA and TAPO Devices. I received a message from TP-Link about the new TAPO app ability to manage my KASA devices. The app does recognize the KASA devices in general, but falls short in key areas. It doesn’t allow automation triggers by the KASA devices like the KASA app does. Although it sees the KASA device and gives you manual control, it won’t let you select said device as a trigger. It also has a flaw in that it sees a KASA wireless camera hub at the device level with an indication of the number of connected cameras, when you drill down to the next level it says there are zero connected cameras. The cameras can be viewed at the device list, but the hub detail info says there are none connected. Indoor KASA wifi cameras are not recognized at all and can’t be added to TAPO app. True integration is still lacking, so the ability to leave the KASA app behind for the TAPO app doesn’t exist yet at the vers. 3.5 level.

My new favorite. Ditched my ring cameras and doorbell after they refused to play nice with my deco x20 setup. Bought a new ring doorbell pro and it also would constantly go offline. Turned out that after cancelling my ring subscription the cameras and chimes worked perfectly. But wouldn’t connect with a ring plan lol. Got the Tapo with chime and I’m loving it! Got the solar cam yesterday and some Tapo smart plugs with matter compliance. Loving tp-link and glad to have been supporting them since early 2000’s

1 week and it’s got great useability and response. I do not normally review apps, but I am using this, obviously, with one of the cameras, and I just got, and have had a security system in the past (LaView) which has/had HORRID APP and functionality and live streaming delay. The Tapo app is GREAT and is the only one so far with a *PRIVACY* mode which instantly disables recording and streaming. BEST THING is internet is NOT required to see your cameras or get playback from the camera SD card. All the cheap Chinese ones make you view your camera them through their server. This option has to be done on your router however; it’s not an option in the software or app.

Overview of app. Over all the app works well and does a good job. Had some trouble at first getting them to connect. But after working through that issue on my own. It connected and worked like a champ. This is the third camera from the TP family of cameras. The first one is a Kasa and I’ve been using it for three years with no problems. The new pan and tilt camera has a pretty nice camera view. Very clear and crisp. So far I’ve been pretty happy with all my products that have been purchased from TP-Link and KASA. For the money I don’t think you will find a better product line.

Notifications could be better. The cameras are great at this price point and app is easy to use. However notifications are super annoying. For the same person moving in the frame, app keeps sending notifications. Sometimes even 10 notifications in under 5 seconds. Notifications needs to be smarter in a way that there is only one notification per movement recorded. Ring cams only send one notification for one recording. No point in 10 notifications under 10 secs

Love TPLink and Tapo!! But…. I am always impressed with TPLink products, including the cameras of which I own many! My only real issue is for the notifications please please please allow for other custom notification tones instead of the standard iphone tritone which is used by every other app! I would love to be able to distinguish a Tapo notification just from the notification tone! The Eufy cameras allow this and it’s so useful so i know it could be done with Tapo! Please build this into the app!!!

Really works. I thought the plug would let me setup an on/off time & that would be it but I have found it so useful to turn my charger on & off at other times as well and all without a trip down to my work space.

Disappointing. I bought 4 Tapo C210 cameras. While using them in my home network they work fantastic. But as soon as you try and access the live feed or playback remotely it’s shocking the TP-Link cloud servers are very slow. It’s virtually impossible to view a feed. So I did some testing. I connected my Tapo cameras to my third party NVR and now it works perfectly not going through TP Link cloud servers. The feed is instant and no delay. You really need to fix this issue as it’s been going on for a long time. Most of my family bought the same cameras. They also have the same issue as me. The app is good. But the TP-Link cloud servers are not good. Also can you please bring back the clear all notifications button on the app. Thanks. I hope you can fix all these issues.

Could be better. The camera views are very clear, except that facial features are not clear, making it difficult to identify a person. Also, my two cats keep triggering the notifications even though I have decreased the motion sensitivity to 2. Also, the area intrusion features are not accurate even after numerous adjustments on the activity zones, resulting in constant triggering by passing cars. I would only give it a three stars.

Very convenient, useful and Ness are in today’s world.. Since I install the cameras I have constantly been using them. They give me a sense of security because my house and my garage has been burgled in the past. Now that I have them it help me in many ways to make me and my household feel more safe.

A good app, but it could be improved.. My cameras are linked in with Google Home, but the cameras do not show up in Google Home, so I use Tapo on my phone and iPad. I find the app intuitive, however I have two frustrations. First, my iPad Pro sits on a Magic Keyboard, and as the app forces the device to operate in portrait mode, it is cumbersome to use. Is there a reason why you do not permit the app to operate in landscape orientation? My wife’s Samsung Galaxy Tab s9 allows her app to operate in landscape view, so it is clearly possible. Please consider adjusting this for iPad use. My second frustration is that the app logs me out more readily than I would like. I find it bothersome that I need to use this app at all (as using Google Home would be ideal), but the fact that I need to sign in again to use the app is unnecessary. Aside from these two issues, the app is workable. It is reliable and intuitive to navigate.

Great app! Easy to use and setup devices. I got this app to setup a couple of Tapo outdoor wifi security cameras. Setup was simple and easy to follow even for someone with little tech knowledge. Interface is easy to use but I haven’t tried it with other smart home devices yet.

Really good but need help. Ok so I’ve had the light strip for a while now and it’s been great but recently there’s no place on the app where I can change the colour? And if I go into effects and try changing the colour there it changes it to a wayyyyy lighter version of the colour or a different colour?! Please fix this or tell me how to fix it! Constantly nags you to upgrade to a paid subscription. This app constantly nags you to upgrade to a paid subscription. There’s no way to turn this off. If you urgently need to see your camera video feed , the nagging gets in the way and delays you from seeing your video. This delay could harm you because it might delay you from taking urgent action, for example where an assault is taking place. The nagging is not only wilfully intrusive but potentially harmful. The developers are clearly putting users’ interests last.

Reveiw. This app has made it so much easier to operate the lights in my room. When it comes to changing the lights daily it is a piece of cake as there is many different features including, rainbow, bubbly, lightning, valentines, sunset and many, many more. I highly recommend this app! 👍🏽

Great camera. Maybe I’m just using it wrong but I think it could be better and more streamline. It’d be good if you could change the settings between Home and Away mode (and privacy settings) in one settings menu, without having to switch modes. This would ensure the settings always apply and don’t change. I’m finding that my settings wont stay as I set them. My only complaint about the camera itself is that the screws for the SD slot were so tight I had to break the cover off just to access it, which leaves my SD card vulnerable to theft.

Excruciating and infuriating!!. Not sure if it’s the app, the camera (a C200) or Apple iOS that’s the root cause but whatever it is is driving me nuts. I lost count how many times I tried to add the camera and how many different settings combinations I tried and how much googling I did to find a solution. But I eventually managed to connect one camera. Now trying to add a second camera and it’s just same nightmare all over again. I’m giving the app 2 stars as once you get lucky and manage to get a camera connected, it’s an ok app. But getting to that point…all I can say is good luck.

Great security camera. This camera provides an excellent image/video and it’s sensor is spot on. The camera can store recordings to the Cloud so you can view and download as you need and it’s also a protection against anyone that tries to steal or damage the camera. The app provides alerts and you can access the camera from anywhere that has access to the web. It’s easy to install and set up. I highly recommend this camera and the app.

It’s alright but cost ontop is a down :/. The app is good and camera but it’s pretty anoying and unsatisfactory that you have to pay for a subscription PER CAMERA or device per month to use it to the most useful way… Otherwise it’s kinda useless because you can review any footage, you can only see when you check the app so things can happen on the camera you wouldn’t know about… pretty sad about that

App Update: Looks Good, Runs Slow!. Absolutely love my little camera, it's great for spying on our dogs while at work! The new app update to version 3 leave much to be desired in regards to speed - it's significantly slower to load and much more glitchy then version 2. I have a relatively new phone so it isn't a hardware issue. It would be good if these issues could be prioritised going forward - a camera that takes a long time to load isn't very useful!

Fantastic! (Please add Siri Shortcuts). The Tapo range is fantastic. I am currently replacing my old cameras with the C310 and it is going great. The features are fantastic, however my only comment to improve is to add Siri Shortcuts. I would like to activate Home Mode and Away Mode with Siri and I think Siri Shortcuts would be the best way to achieve this. Thanks!

TP-Link RV30 Max Plus - A Fantastic Product. I bought this robot vacuum last week. It is a clever little helper around the house. It keeps the house nice and clean and frees up a lot of my time to enjoy life. It is smart and intuitive and goes about the cleaning with no complaint. Enlightening to be sure :-). Have only just started using it after getting 4 bulbs and so far I’m loving it, need to get the power plugs next I think but having the lights turn on at set times and set brightness has made life a lot simpler specially for when I’m away, nobody can tell if anyone is home or not.

Useless person detection ai. Considering the cloud / ai is a $ per month subscription expectations were that it would work. Doesn’t reliably detect people or differentiate people from shadows bushes etc. The cause is most likely a very cheap detection algorithm. Had this over 12 months and from a technical background have tested in a variety of settings and it’s just bad. Basically look elsewhere if you want reliable person detection alerts. Cameras and app are cheap and otherwise not too bad.

AMAZING APP. We got the camera and the app in the same thing so we were set I have had this app for 11 years and same with the camera it’s also so easy to set up it took us like 30 minutes to set up the camera this was a really good app definitely recommend 👍

One of the very best things I have ever invested in my life is actually getting easy as having to care with someone who has cancer but it would be wonderful if you had a sanitary system where I can whip round all the surfaces to clean up and keep germs away thank goodness for our little helper she does a great job

App works well but can be more efficient with alarm function. This app works well and is easy to navigate. Connecting with devices is the easiest I’ve experienced on any platform. One complaint I have is when setting the cameras to arm the alarm, I also have to set the trigger alarm hub separately. Would be convenient if the hub alarm trigger was an option within the camera alarm option. This way if I set the hub alarm to trigger with the camera alarm, I only have to turn it on once instead of turning the camera alarm and hub alarm separately. Fixing will change my rating to 5. TP-Link, please consider this update.

A cam system that works. Literally less than 1minute tk set up and have running, unlike other brands I have tried and are flakey if they work at all. Only 4 days in but have had 100% coverage with no problems. Alarm works as it should, detecting either people, cars or both with not any false alarms yet. The cat walked across screen without tripping it while set to person detect, which then promptly notified me when a person walked into view moments later. I’m running a Tapo C110 and Tapo C320WS, and am having the same experience with both cams. I will be buying more soon.

DO NOT BUY. TLDR Do not buy these products because whenever you try to connect, it turns out and perhaps 3/10 attempts will work as intended. I am so frustrated with these cameras. I bought 2 outdoor cameras and two indoor, and it’s been hard work ever since. Whilst everything “works” - it is not demonstrating reliability. (1) Signal strength/break. The front camera that covers the street, parking and car, after a few seconds of watching the feed, stops working and after 30 seconds asks me to refresh the feed. I refresh and the. The camera simply displays “offline.” This camera is less than 5m from a router my phone and even the car pick up from the street 20m away. Tapo obviously blame my $400 router. (2) Notification “zone.” None of the cameras pay any attention to the boundaries I have setup. I don’t need to be noticed at 5am when my opposite neighbour leaves for work. I need to know what the silly man drives into the back of my car, on my driveway. (3) “Person identification” is absolutely useless. It sends a notification that a person has been detected when in actual fact it was - hold your breath - a possum. (4) Tapo Care/Cloud is PER DEVICE and not per account. Don’t get sucked into it. I wish I could believe all the 5 star reviews weren’t bots. Absolutely ridiculous.

Best of the bunch!. Had a few teething problems with the App but once set up cam is simple, easy to use by day or night and with great resolution. Support is surprisingly good via live chat and email. Replies sent within 24 hours and genuine efforts made to assist! Don't leave home without one (or two!) 👍👍👍

Tapo Door Bell. I’m happy that I can now see who does or doesn’t ring my door bell. I’m the past I have had delivery drivers claim to try and deliver my parcels and say that I wasn’t home. Which ended in me having to collect from the post office. Not ideal when I’m recovering from hip surgery.

Good upgrade to Kasa app. When my new P300 power board wouldn’t connect with the Kasa app I thought I would have to use 2 apps to control my devices. However I signed in with the same credentials and all my older Kasa devices were moved to the new app and the addition of the new device was extremely easy. The Tapo interface is much nicer than the old one.

Who said?. First of all. Anyone leaving a negative review is either lying or doesn’t like the simple thing. These are easy to setup. Absolutely amazing lights. The app is perfect. The gui is great! I love this. Keep it around yeah? Good on you guys. Hands down you done a great job. Keep up the positives yeh?

Awesome Smart Home System - 30+ devices in my setup!. So far I’m really liking the Tapo system. I started with one cheap camera but now have five cameras including two C420S2 which has amazing AI for people and car detection. Haven’t tried pets but assume it works just as well. We have a few acres and it’s hard to know when cars are arriving sometimes so the cameras will make the hub chime when a car is coming down the driveway. Or if it detects people late at night. We’ve got a bunch of globes but what I’m especially liking are the motion sensors and buttons. Unfortunately they’re not available in Australia yet so I purchased from Europe. They’re amazing. Lamps that turn on at night automatically, one button to turn all the lamps in a room on… there just doesn’t seem to be a limit yet for what’s possible.

Works well. This app works well, especially since it allows the continued use of the various Kasa devices, which simplifies things no end. The Tapo set up is very easy especially when multiple devices are in use because of the way the network password only need to be entered once. (I've running about 15 Tapo and Kasa devices to individually charge my LiPo devices which allows greater control and ensuring Lithium batteries are fully charged for the min time then switched off)

First impressions…. Have only had the camera for a couple of days - and it seems to be a good piece of kit. Will be using it when we go on holiday - piece of mind to be able to see the front door is secure, etc. I can also pan the camera to look outside and see how fast the grass is growing. May well invest in a second camera for other parts of the property. The app also works very well.

Could be great but…. The app pauses the stream every few minutes and wants you to respond to a dialog box. Pretty annoying for a camera that is intended for security viewing remotely. Everything else about the camera and app is great, easy installation and setup, works from any internet location etc. But this is a big problem and there seems to be no good reason for this behaviour.

I can hear my voice on the camera. The last few days I can hear my voice on the cameras even though it’s very faraway, it’s through the microphone on my phone, I switch off microphone on my phone it’s still doing it. It might of been from the latest update, this is a big issue for me please fix it.

Great cameras. I’m really happy with my Tapo security cameras, they work really well for me and are reliable. I had other well known brands before but I had constant issues with them but not with Tapo. Tapos price are great, cameras are reliable and easy to set up and manage. If I could wish for something - it would be that Tapo could have a red notification sit in front of the app so I clearly can see if it has got a notification in case I missed it. Add that and it would be 5*

Affordable, reliable and easy to use. I started out with one camera (c200) and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. The app is pleasant to use with good features and interface. I’ve expanded my camera range after the good experience from the c200 and the app handles all the cameras live streaming simultaneously very well. What the stand out thing for me was how instant and quick motion detection notifications are sent to your device. I compared the tapo against two higher end hikvision cameras that were placed next to the tapo and viewing the exact same scene and on every occasion when I purposely walked in front of the cameras to set off the motion detection the tapo was the first camera that I received a notification of motion detection to my phone out of the three. The other two were not far behind but never did they beat the tapo. That’s pretty impressive compared to the price difference between hikvision and tapo cameras. Also recording and play back on an installed SIM card in the camera works well. And the wifi connection is unreal. The live feed is like it’s a wired connection. These cameras are good bang for your buck.

I don’t like the update for iPad. Just one little issue I’ve found on iPad 9. I had trouble changing the Brightness setting of my smart-bulb when making a Shortcut. The brightness slider has been changed to the bottom of the screen where you now have to scroll down to find it. I prefer the older design, as the brightness slider was right in front of you. That’s the only reason I took 1 star off my rating.

I’m Impressed!. I purchased a couple of what I assumed were budget cameras that were also on sale and I’ve had a really good experience. The software is well written and works without glitches, setup was almost too easy, the outdoor wifi cameras have more range than I was expecting, recording quality night and day is again better than expected. Highly recommended!

No Landscape for iPad. App is ok, but still completely gimped by the fact that it doesn’t support landscape on the iPad unless you’re actually viewing a video. The majority of iPad cases and use case scenarios these days, even Apple’s marketing material, all have the iPad in landscape. It’s very frustrating to use when you need to remove the iPad from a case just to use the app. Really baffling design choice for an app that has such heavy focus on video.

Tapo C210. These little beauties are better than I anticipated I bought 2 of them 3 days ago. Love the alarm and audio ❤️ hehe nothing like scaring the neighbours as they walk past oops 😃 The audio I pretty clear the video quality is great. Purchased the cloud subscription 👌🏼

Frustrating with poor usability. I’ve been using the app for a couple of weeks so far and am very disappointed in it. It can do most of what it says but in the most clumsy way eg i have 2 motion sensors and i only want notifications when im not home but i have to go into the sensors individually to turn this off or on and then separately turn the hub alarm on or off. The smart automation is anything but smart. I also can’t change the layover time in Patrol Mode for two reasons 1) because the selector is so hard to use snd 2) because the Save button is permanently greyed out so even if i can change it, i can’t save it. Usability has clearly not been a consideration for the app designers and it shows.

Easy to operate for Seniors. After our beautiful dog passed away ( he would let us know if anyone was lurking about) we just needed a bit of security, This was recommended to us by a young guy in Good Guys. If you have some basic skills, this little gadget was fantastic. Anyone that walks need our home, it alert us.

Finally!!!!!. Kasa integration! Now I can buy more Kasa and Tapp cameras without needing different apps!!! Hooray!!! One feedback though. When in full screen and using the “call” function, can you update the app to hide all the buttons? It takes up space in the full screen which mean you can it the full screen clearly.

Great product that could be slightly improved. Works as well as a lot dearer products. About the only improvement I can see to make it much better would be to have the option of not alerting for the times you elect not to record.

TP-Link's Tapo app: stable & mature. Having some experience of different companies' home automation devices & apps, I can safely say Tapo is the best I've interacted with. The interface is clean & simple enough that anyone can use it, with advanced features accessible through a sensible, logical set of menus. The app is stable & feels mature. If you think this sounds like faint praise, you probably haven't had the misfortune of dabbing with some of the other home automation software out there. There's a clear sense that everything has been designed for simplicity & ease-of-use. There's the right amount of handholding for connecting new devices. Creating groups, rooms and automations (if you need or want them) is a breeze. Some companies' home automation software is a nightmare: buggy, wiggy, crashy or bloated, leaving you wishing the device you bought could be used without the excruciating pain of forced interaction with their awful, awful software. So congratulations TP-Link, I genuinely enjoy using your H/A software. Coupled to reasonably priced products & devices, you're miles ahead in the home automation space. H/A doesn't work without the software-based user interface and you hold a crucial competitive advantage thanks to the Tapo app.

Ease of use and practicality. The App is user friendly. It’s informative without being complicated. Early days at the moment, but I cannot see any reason at the moment why my opinion would change.

Amazing Love It!. I have connected a smart plug to my Led Lights and bedroom Lamp. I am now very happy because I can turn them on and off from my Google nest hub without having to get up and use the led remote and it is very hard to get to the switch of my lamp so this makes it much easier. Best thing ever

Tapo app is amazing!. I recently got this app and it’s been amazing. I got the LEDs and it’s so easy to control and it looks so good. I like it because you can add different devices to the same Home so you can access it easily. Just one click of a button and a whole party of the world is on! It’s been fun partying in my room and Vibing. So I think you should buy this because it is a good plus to your house and everyone will love it!

Not working. App wont let me add a location for my devices or add them to a group, every single time i try to do anything with my device i am met with around a 5 minute loading time and then it tells me an error has occurred and to try again later. I have turned my phone on and off, tried updating the app and lightbulbs, tried turning them off from the power switch and tried disconnecting and reconnecting the light bulbs but no matter what i do it wont work. There is nothing in the support section for my issue and i dont know what to do.

Best app for home security cams I’ve used.. Bought the Tapo C110 cameras for our house in Japan when I discovered that the other cameras I had been using in Canada, weren’t available in Japan. I have now switched my house in Canada to the Tapo system as well. The app takes a little getting used to, but now that I have spent some time with it, I realize that it’s packed with features and it makes having multiple camera systems a snap. I am hooked on Tapo and am currently setting up two more cameras at our cabin in the mountains. I have purchased all of the cameras myself, and received no promotion from Tapo to do so. Other than the pop up to give them a rating here.

Static noise. All I hear is static noise when I turn in the volume regardless if the camera microphone setting is in the recommended setting in the app

Macbook Air M1. App is useless on a Macbook Air M1, it crashes within seconds. When it does load, if you click anything it automatically crashes and shuts down. Completely useless. Works well on iphone, but i want to be able to check in on a laptop. Frustrating.

Crash on Mac M1. Works on all IOS devices except Macbook pro m1, now crashes all the time.

Choosing clips from playback jumps to other clips. The app has become super buggy and unstable since version 3.5.103. When choosing clips from playback to play, after pressing a certain clip, it will often jump to another clip to play instead of the one chosen. This is super annoying and it wastes users’ valuable time when watching playback. This issue has not been addressed in the updates that follow. If this problem persists, I am going to give up using Tapo and change to another brand.

Great except……. Honestly this app is fantastic…Except one small but annoying complaint. They DONT let you change the sound for “motion detection” on the camera. I use the camera to detect motion at a door for packages, family, intruders, etc. All they let you use is the iPhone “tri tone” which most people use when receiving a text message. This sounds minor except if you’re busy you might miss an important motion detection while the phones in your pocket, thinking it’s just another text message. TP Link if you’re reading this, please fix this small bit provoking annoyance. It would make the app 10000x better with just one small fix allowing us to choose a custom tone.

Best security Camera. I have used Nest & Hik vision Comparing with Nest indoor/outdoor & HIK Vision Tapo has more features and also the night vision and coloured night vision is top notch!! I compared lot of cameras and based on price & feature my best bet was Tapo. I must mention Eufy was close contender but when it comes to price there is no dispute. Tapo won!! I am very happy with the quality and features for the price.

definitely worth it. i had a mobi camera in my daughters nursery. it was constantly lagging, you couldn’t move it from the app and the overall quality wasn’t the best. i ordered this one honestly expecting it to be worse. what i got was a bigger camera, a mounting kit, clearer picture, no lag and i can pan it while in the app. best part it was $40 cheaper than the mobi

Tapo can only be used locally. It installed perfectly the first time but suddenly it says it can only be used locally so i cant monitor my tapo using mobile data phone. Ive done everything instructed to reset and delete still doesn’t work. Its annoying because its barely 3 mths old. Tapo c200

Times out every 5 min as baby monitor. What is this crap? Every 5 minutes it pauses and asks if you want to keep watching because you didn’t “make an operation.” I am using it as a baby monitor at night….so of course I did not make an operation but now my baby is crying and i didn’t hear it. THANKS CRAPO.

It’s not downloading on my ipad. I tried to download it to my iPad Pro but it just keeps going around and around in circles and not updating. I cant delete it because it wont let me and i cant update it. What should i do?

Unable to login to old or newly created account. Tried resetting my password, not able to login. Created new account and same thing. Steer clear of these devices. No way to create a support ticket to report this problem. Cameras are now paper weights and useless until vendor fixes problem.

Great App. Seems to be less glitchy than Wemo. Great so far.

Tap to refresh. Camera is obviously working because I keep getting notifications about motion being detected, but I can’t actually watch the stream because the system just loads and then says “tap to refresh” without ever loading. I’ve had this camera for a week and I can’t even use it.

Would like more functionality. Good app. Could use improvement in a couple places.

Too many notifications. OK app - but it constantly sends notifications while you are actively using the app. I SEE the movement happening, why do I need a notification it’s happening too?

Great App. Worked great first time I installed. Not hard to use. Would recommend.

Useless without subscription. The developers are to greedy. You can not even have a screenshot in the notification unless you pay for a subscription plan. Plus they don’t even have the option to send email notifications.

Affordable and Convenient. Easy to setup and use, only wished it was wireless and rechargeable 😁

TP-Link Tapo. This app does everything I could ask for from manage the cameras to alerting. I have no complaints or issues

And the best part - NO LIFETIME $ANNUITY$ TO USE WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED.

Needs Improvements. I’m using this app for my Tapo IP camera and smart plugs. Clean UI and menus are easy to use but, seems to be reliable in general but the app needs major improvements. Leave aside Siri Shortcuts support for voice commands, app doesn’t even have a widget for simple ON/OFF toggling. Please bring more features.

So simple to use. The setup to daily use is so simple and convenient, the camera it self is such a good value for money. I love it!

Useless from outside home. The app and the device have become unstable with every update. Now it unusable to the point that not even a simple login to the tapo app works. If you try to see any cameras you get slapped in the face with the message “Network unstable”. Unusable. Very disappointed

Tapo products. I was a bit bias, this was a pleasant experience. Must have stable internet connection
