Samsung Galaxy Watch (Gear S) Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Kinda Irritating. I was gifted a galaxy watch and I knew there might be a few little bugs due to me owning/pairing up to an iPhone but the amount of issues i keep having is ridiculous!(going on my 2nd month of owning the watch) I’m constantly having to restart the watch and/or my phone simply because they don’t want to pair, if I want to get phone notifications through to my watch I have to have the app open/running in the background and it drains the battery so fast!, and whenever I try to download a new watch face or app for my watch from the wearable app itself I get a million error messages or it force closes itself out and I end up giving up on downloading things. :(

Like the watch - but unreasonable to not allow purchases. Like a lot of you, I am an iPhone user who prefers the look of the Galaxy watch. After my Apple Watch bit the dust I decided to make the switch. I will say - I like this watch a lot. It looks great and works well with iPhone even if I can’t control the “now playing” feature from my iPhone or respond to texts directly from the watch... I’ll live. What I cannot understand is why Samsung refuses to take my money when I am ready and willing to make many micro-purchases of all kinds of watch faces. This makes me frustrated. I’ve read forums of people complaining extensively about how they even tried to pair the watch to a Samsung device and make the purchase - then switch back to the iPhone, log into the same account, and those watch faces would disappear. This is very confusing to me. If you can explain reasonably I’ll add an extra star just for trying. If I can purchase audiobooks on the audible app, Have my Xbox download a purchase I made in the Microsoft store on my iPhone, and pay my phone bill on the t-mobile app, then I should be able to make a purchase from the galaxy store for a simple watch face.

Nice watch. When I had the Galaxy Note 10 the Galaxy pairing was seamless. Now that I am back to an iPhone much of the functionality was lost but that is to be expected going from Samsung to Apple. The biggest complaint that I have is that I have to leave this open all the time in order to get notifications. If I were to walk or run out of range of my phone the watch does not sync back with the phone as it should. Only occasionally it syncs back. A bit of a downer. Additionally, I can no longer receive calls on my watch when I am not synced with my iPhone. I am paying for cellular that I am not getting that the Galaxy Watch is supposed to do. I wish Samsung and Apple could just be friends and work together to share some tech. The consumer would benefit greatly from two great companies working in harmony.

Apple vs Samsung hurts us Customers and it has to stop. Samsung makes a great watch for those who want style and functionality ie looks great but not for hardcore active users. What let’s them down is this app and the defecto war with apple and it shows in the app. A lot of functionality is missing in this app and it constantly disconnects from the watch and doesn’t automatically reconnects. My S3 doesn’t work any more won’t pair and I can tell it’s because of Bluetooth permission issues. My gear watch still works, but again disconnects is hard to ignore. I have tested both watches on Samsung phones and they work better, less disconnects and longer battery life can app is more polish than the iOS app. I hate square watches I will not buy one, i don’t like garmin I am not that into tracking my simple workouts. Also the garmin apps integration with apple health with read write access let’s me know most of the issues is apples vs Samsung related that leaves us the customer in the middle. It’s our money we should be able chose and have cross company integration, so I will not connect my phone with my iPhone or use apple health. I remember when keeping your customers happy listening to them was paramount.

BAD !!! really bad !!!!!. I have tried repeatedly to install stuff from the app. It takes forever and doesn’t happen most of the time. Many times it goes blank when trying to access watch faces. Many times it shall show me apps are not installed. Whereas they are on the watch. Really really problematic. I am using an iPhone x with the latest OS and this latest version of Samsung. I have given Samsung app access to everything, like mobile data etc. I have tried leaving wifi ‘always on’ in watch but nothing works. I have tried resetting the watch. Upgraded the watch software. There is nothing i have not tried. Frustrating. UPDATE : The developers asked me to reset and reinstall app. I did so and it erased all my downloaded watch faces and apps. Then I started to download stuff again through this app. Actually managed a few watch faces till it started to go blank again. Now if i hit any watch faces or apps on the main screen it just takes me to a complete blank screen. I tried waiting on the blank scree to see if something happens. But no. There are no other third party apps for gear 3. I am truly amazed Samsung has outsourced it to these developers. I am sorry to the developers...but i have to say this is by far the worst and frustrating application i have ever downloaded.

Gear s2 no longer works. I’m not sure what happened. My gear s2 worked fine about a month ago. Recently I changed my gear s2 battery. After that I have to reconnect my watch. I saw there was an update, so naturally, updated the app, but now I can’t re-pair my gear s2 to my iPhone 11 Pro. I see the gear s2 in my iphones Bluetooth settings. I also see the gear s2 broadcasting Bluetooth in this app. In this app, I see the “LE” connection only and when I go to connect, it just times out. After much research, I found that other users have the same issue, which leads me to believe it’s an issue within this app. Please test, isolate, and resolve this issue. Thank you. Support has reached out to me, which was the next day! Thank you for responding so fast. Adding a start for support response. :) Unfortunately, the suggestions provided haven’t worked. I’ve forgotten the gear s2 in the Bluetooth settings. I’ve watched the support video. The app “sees” my watch. It just times out while attempting to pair. I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I’ve reset my network settings. I’ve rebooted my iPhone. I’ve reset the galaxy watch. I’ve turned all radios off, except for Bluetooth. I’ve gone into airplane mode, rebooted my iPhone, then turned on Bluetooth. All to no avail. I’m on iOS 14.7 with my iPhone 11 Pro.

Battery Doesn’t Last Half as Long. I received my Gear S3 Frontier the Christmas holiday of 2018. I’ve loved and enjoyed it first moment I received it. Personally I would’ve gone with what was most popular at that time if I’d purchased myself (fitbit/Apple Watch etc). But it was a gift from my spouse who is one who searches and reads reviews and ratings before making a section on any purchase. About 3 weeks ago I began trying to complete the newest update. After so many unsuccessful attempts of updating I gave up and finally a couple days ago was able to complete the update successfully. I can see the difference in the look of the icons and colors on the screen. I’m not tech savvy therefore I don’t know what this new update, now with Bixby, means. Sounds like something I could really care less about. I pretty much only use it for its step count & health app and making calls here and there. Seeing as though I have an iPhone I can’t respond to messages but I can receive my texts and iMessages on my watch. I have noticed my battery life doesn’t last nearly as long. Even on the off days of working out, my battery life is at about 50% around noon and I still have a full day ahead almost. Seeing as though I charge it until it’s completely charged and only use my watch the most when I’m active my battery life should last longer it seems. Please help me figure out why my battery life is so much less since I’ve updated. Thank you!

Update took away functionality. Can’t update weather on watch unless you open the galaxy watch app or have the watch connected to WiFi. Also, since the most recent update to the watch software, I’m unable to receive text notifications from my iPhone. I don’t know if this is just an issue with the watch software, or if the iPhone app needs an update in order for the watch to function correctly. Either way, the galaxy watch is a very mediocre experience on iOS and makes me seriously consider getting an Apple Watch. *Update: The app developers gave a couple of things to try which one of them seemed to work to fix the issue of the text notifications. I stand by what I said about the mediocre experience on iOS though.

Was a great app but will no longer load.. I used this app for about 8 months with no issue, then a couple months ago it was updated to a new/different version and nothing will load. The app opens up and connects to my watch but every tab I click on to open pops up a never ending loading screen. I haven't been able to add apps or watch faces to my watch in months. I would delete the app and start over again but if I do that, since I'm not able to download anything new thru the app, I'm afraid I would lose all of my current apps and watch faces and be stuck with the default watch with no customizable features. I know, being that it's a Samsung watch app on an iPhone, there is going to be limitations but this app has been essentially rendered useless for me. Not really a big fan of the look of the Apple watch but with the way my experience has been with this apps lack of functionality I'm seriously considering the switch. UPDATE: Since the last update of the app everything is working great! So glad I can update everything in my watch and download new faces again. Now that it works again and I'm able to go thru it, I'm really impressed with all of the features of the app and how user friendly it is. Definitely a five star experience now! Thanks so much for fixing the issues!

Connects to watch 1/2 of the time. When this app works, it's great and you can customize stuff. When this app doesn't work it's very frustrating and there's nothing you can do even if you restart the watch and your phone and the app. Hope Samsung gets it together. It's 2020 and the S3 Frontier has been out for a while...they should have this figured out. 3/5 stars bc 2.5 (works 1/2 the time, remember) rounds up. Edit: I took the developers' suggestion and also "forgot" the device from my phone as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung Gear app. After updating my watch firmware and restarting my watch, I was able to get everything connected again. It was a process, but it works now. Thanks for the support, Samsung!

Does the bare minimum, but pretty buggy. Need this app to support my Galaxy Watch. Just wish it worked better and did more. The notifications block list doesn't work at all. I specifically want to block my phone notifications because the default action for new voicemail notifications is Delete (!) instead of Dismiss. I’ve blocked them like I’m supposed to, but they keep coming. And notifications that have shown up on the phone and been cleared frequently reappear on the watch. Notification blocking doesn’t work on any other app either. The feature is broken. The backup is a joke - it reportedly only backs up weather and notifications, both of which are automatically synced from my iphone. It doesn't back up my watch faces, app launcher layout, app favorites, settings pulldown favorites, wifi hotspots, stored workouts, or anything else I care about. What's the point of a backup then? My son has an S2 but this won’t connect to the app in iOS 15 at all. Doesn’t give me confidence that Samsung will continue to support their products, which makes me reluctant to spend any more money on future Samsung products. Another problem: you need another app (Samsung Health) to connect to any of your workout data, but neither app syncs or saves workouts saved on the watch. This means there's no way to get them off the watch! In short, this app is a weak effort and poorly tested.

Frustrating product!!! Stick to Apple Watch. I installed the app on my iPhone XS Max. I have a Galaxy S3 Frontier and tt pairs properly with the phone. However the app is not loading the watch app store to download new apps and themes. I was able to before on my other iPhones. Now, there is an exlamation point on every option in the app that uses the Samsung app store for the watch. When I click on it, I get a message that "This device does not support Gear". If that's the case, why was I able to connect it to the phone, get notifications... Apple cannot be blamed for this one. Samsung, you had plenty of time to work on something that will function properly on the new iOS version. Samsung, if you are reading this, you are a very big company but your apps and support for your devices and software is horrible. That's the reason why you can't compete with Apple. Perhaps you can learn something from them!!! I will stick Apple devices only going forward. They just work!!!! Everything is really just a recipe for frustration, a waste of money and more importantly, TIME wasted on trying to troubleshoot!!!

Slight Bluetooth issue. I purchased my Samsung Active2 watch just recently because I like the look of this watch more than the Apple alternative. I love how messages and notifications get easily sent to the watch, however, I have noticed some issues it causes with bluetooth connectivity. When in my car, my Iphone will repeatedly connect and disconnect from the car’s Bluetooth. Similarly, when using my Samsung buds head phones, they constantly connect and disconnect as well. As I have used the car Bluetooth and Samsung buds with the iPhone for sometime now, and have not had issues until now, I believe the issue revolves around the watch. As mentioned, other than this issue, I love the watch, just wondering if there is a fix for this problem.

Works somewhat. Was excited to get my first smart watch. Longtime iPhone user but prefer the look of the Galaxy Watch so decided to go for it and buy one. I read and watched videos on the limitations of pairing with the iPhone. Figured there was plenty of functionality to make the purchase worthwhile. I would give it 4 stars if Samsung would allow the messages and email apps on the watch but sadly it does not. None of the videos I watched mentioned anything about emails and messages not be allowed by iOS users so wondering if these a recent change. Did some online searches to see if I was the only one with this issue. I’m not and there are lots of theoretical solutions like resetting the phone and such but none work. It seems clear Samsung is limiting these two apps and not allowing the iOS user to have them on the galaxy watch. Disappointed, obviously text messages and email notifications are an important function with a smart watch but they are clearly not available for iOS users. Will wait a week or so to see if there is a resolution otherwise this watch will be returned. Samsung I see you read and respond to some reviews. Can you confirm you are restricting the messages and email apps for iOS users on the galaxy watch?

Ok Help!.... Hey. So I just picked up my Samsung Gear S2 le. watch today and tried paring it to my IPhone 11 note the watch was never used and was still in the box when I got it. The app says it cant connect and Bluetooth is on and I know the watch is up to date as far as I can tell but they will not pair what’s so ever, when I use the app it will come up as we can’t connect to the device and just sit there then the watch will say “This is taking a longer then expected. Go back and try again”, when I skip the app and go threw my phone’s settings to Bluetooth it says it will connect but will disconnect a few seconds later then say sorry the device is not able to connect please try removing the device from Bluetooth and try again.. idk what the issue is and when I jump on forms or Reddit I see people are having the same issue so idk what the deal is but yeah so hopefully a developer see’s this and can help out or if anyone knows pls help lol but yeah thank you for your time and have a good day or night idk it’s 3:32am for me rn as of typing this lol.

Gear S3 very disappointed. I have owned Samsung Smart phones for almost 18 years so I was very excited to get my S3 smart watch since I didn’t like the look of the Apple Watch. The Gear S3 worked great for a year and loved the look and feel. However right after the one year manufacturers warranty was over it started malfunctioning. Another thing to point out is that you need a separate line of service from your carrier to be able to answer calls, if you don’t have separate service for your watch you WONT be able to answer or make calls on your watch. I was OK with that until It started malfunctioning, starting with Heart rate sensing that could not be read, steps were not counted, kept loosing Bluetooth connection from the galaxy watch App, gps not working. It went from a smart watch to an expensive normal watch that tells the date and time. I purchased my wife a Fitbit versa 2 for less than half the cost of mine and it works far better than my expensive Samsung Gear S3.

Works on my 6s+. With my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier it Works seamlessly - I’ve owned an AppleWatch for years but never have I experienced the realistic crisp visual as I have on this Gear S3! I thought w my Apple Watch that I was at the top of the food chain... no, I wasn’t. I can receive all notifications minus the images within text, email and my Ring doorbell/cameras. But hey, this ISNT an Apple product. This app installs/updates hundreds upon hundreds of watchfaces as well as the Samsung Health app cross-communication between iPhone & Gear S3. I can find my watch from my iPhone but not my iPhone from my watch - that [ability] I miss but consider it a small price for what I get - oh, did I mention I have full GPS via satellite or wireless triangulation - yea. Anyway, I’m off my soapbox now. I didn’t mean to bash Apple who by the way; I’ve been a user of since system 7. Anyway; enjoy, like I said - seamless 😉

It’s okay but apple needs to allow more cross COMPATIBILITY!! For texting and bixby!!!. I’ve owned one Fitbit, three garmin, the Apple Watch series 3, and now the Samsung watch. Samsung by far is the best. Although it is cross compatible you don’t get the ability to text back on the watch because iOS blocks it and bixby doesn’t work. I wish that apple gave full compatibility. I will probably be switching to all Samsung at my next upgrade. I’m really glad they did add this app to iOS because I really like the Samsung galaxy watch much better than the Apple Watch. You can download many different watch faces and customize your watch to your liking but I feel that apple could allow much much more cross compatibility to further make this app amazing.

iPhone pairing. I am satisfied and am happy with the watch because it looks and works great. I get jealous of people with Apple watches sometimes because it looks like they can do more stuff like go through their messages. My biggest complaint is that I feel discouraged from exploring the range of what I can do with the watch and my iPhone together because whenever I try to do something, my watch says I need to connect to my phone again or the WiFi or something like that and it takes a long time to just download a new watch face. I want to clarify that I love this watch and it pairs well with the app and if I was less lazy then I likely wouldn’t have any issues. It really is great and I have recommended it to a lot of people

iPhone syncing. First, let me say, I absolutely love this watch. I only wish it were more waterproof like my Garmin fēnix. The syncing with my iPhone XS Max is good. Once synced, it is a solid connection and rarely have I had any trouble. The initial sync, either due to changing phones or resetting digital devices, is less than desirable. Realize you must “forget device” if previously connected. Even after all the “must do’s” it still is tricky to sync and I need to make several attempts. All of the functions are what I need from a smart watch. Understand that the iPhone pairing doesn’t allow for calling from the wrist and texting from the wrist. If you can do without that, I say get the watch and stay hooked to the app once it connects. Altogether, I’m not even sure if the pairing is the app’s issue or if it’s the iPhone -> watch issue. Overall? Great watch, good app.

Gear watch rocks with iPhone. I’m a watch magnet. I own Apple Watch, Huawei Classic, LG Urbane 2, TicWatch 2 and my absolute favorite Samsung Gear S3. I’m definitely an Apple person with iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro devices. But Samsung nailed it with the Gear wearables (my new Galaxy Watch is already ordered.). Without a doubt, the Gear S app delivers all the functionality you expect and need. Notifications are great, phone call and message monitoring and more. Fitness tracking with the Samsung Health phone app is also top shelf. iPhone with Gear wearables is by far my favorite combo. The minor Gear S app limitations are imposed by Apple and not a shortcoming of the app itself. For example, you can’t view phone battery status on the watch. Also, you cannot respond to messages from the watch. But the evolving niche of smart watches was clearly not meant to replace your phone. The only thing I’d like to see is the ability to access premium paid Galaxy App content. Otherwise, you won’t regret adding a Samsung wearable to your iPhone. BTW... Gear watches are great “watches” also with always-on displays and classic styling. Thanks Samsung!

Stopped working. So everything was fine since I purchased the watch a couple of months ago, but suddenly (it happened overnight, no IOS update or watch iOS update happened), whatever app notification I have blocked on this app stays blocked only until the watch is turned off, as soon as I turn it on, even though the apps are still blocked on the app, I have to block them again on my watch. Not only that, but the icons (graphics) that used to match those of the actual apps (e.g. eBay with white icon), shows up as an orange icon, the same for all of the remaining notifications. UPDATE Feb22: After seeing the developer response you clearly did not read my review. I know how to block the apps in my watch, the problem is that they are unblocked once I turn off the device and on again (belattery dies, etc), I have to manually block each app again even though they were already blocked both in the app and in the watch. Please fix this annoying bug, was thinking of buying a 2nd watch as a gift but not with bugs on the app like this.

Great app! Now Apple, give us the functionality.. I love that there is this app that allows me to use my favorite smart watch with my iPhone! However, the functionality is limited... I used to be able to take phone calls on the watch, text on the watch, and control my music on the watch (just to name a few). This is not the apps fault, but Apple’s. I would like to see Apple be more open minded and let the functions live again, but I know there’s probably no chance of that happening. Thank you for at least letting me get the time and notifications! P.S. Apple, let me use the watch to the full potential. You make weird looking smartwatches, and people will still buy them. Don’t force them into it by limiting functions, give us the freedom.

This app works great and all but one slip up and it’s game over.. I have a Gear S2 R730 (3G), the one you can talk to people with. But I have came across a problem that forced me to reset my phone. My watch overheated and naturally disconnected to cool down. I was playing a game on it so I can see why. But when cooled down, it never connected to my phone, it just leaves a ghost Bluetooth connection on my phone that you cannot disconnect from even if you reset the watch. You also cannot forget it either, it just sits there, so that means if your delete the app and tried again to reconnect, it WILL NOT WORK because it is an already connection ghost Bluetooth connection. So if that can be fixed that is great. I reseted both the watch and iPhone and never had an issue again. Please fix it.

Near perfect app for a great watch. Let’s be real, we all got a Samsung watch because Apple is slacking badly in the watch game. Other than the design and battery life of the watch, the reason these watches stand out against the Apple Watch is because this App gives you the ability to download ‘watch faces’ from 3rd party developers. This is something simple Apple is missing. Now the reason I gave this a 4 star is because of a small issue. Whenever a app/watchface is downloading and you continue to browse the ‘store’ it often disconnects your connection to the watch and stops the download. I then go into my phone’s Bluetooth settings and it says I’m connected so I have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times before the watch sees my phone again (or vise versa). Now this can very well be an issue with the iPhones Bluetooth but I doubt it.

Connectivity problems are terrible. I’ve owned my S3 Frontier for several years now. I love the watch, but HATE the Samsung app and absolute lack of sustained connectivity to my iPhone. If I’m lucky enough to get the watch to connect to my phone (and the app), it doesn’t last long irregardless of the relative distance watch to phone. It’s been like this for YEARS, no matter the phone model or software versions of the app and/or watch. Read the reviews - it’s far and away the #1 complaint, and always has been... and Samsung does absolutely nothing to make it better. The developer replies to these reviews are amusing: “Gosh, we’re so sorry you’re experiencing this issue, can you give us more information etc etc etc” as if they haven’t heard this literally thousands of times now. I expected issues three years ago when the watch was new, but not having things fixed by now is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable. As is, the app & all it promises is essentially worthless.

Some features don't work. I have recently switched to iPhone and have experienced some issues that I never experienced with my previous phone. One issue is the Find My Watch/Phone feature. I would usually lose my phone somewhere and when I would try to find it with the Find My Phone app, it would tell me to connect to Bluetooth even though I'm already connected. I try to connect and it says it failed to connect, even though my watch IS connected to the phone. Another issue is when connecting to a new phone, I lost some watch faces and could never get them back. There was a Fallout watch face that I had and when I connected to a new phone, it completely disappeared from the Galaxy store. Same with Samsung internet browser, completely gone from the store. It doesn't even show up on the phone app's built-in Galaxy store. I would rather recommend the Apple watch for better compatibility and a wider variety of features.

It works the basics perfectly. I prefer my Samsung watch over my Apple Watch and this app helps me do what I need it to do and get the info I want. I don’t text with my watch (Apple only…can’t text with Samsung on Apple phone) since I have my phone on me all the time anyway…it’s just easier and makes more sense to me. My only wish would be for the app to allow it to communicate to and from multiple Samsung watches. I have two Samsung watches and switch back and forth in the event one dies on me. I’m busy and forget to charge my watch often, so I use my older watch (and vice versa), but that watch has to be connected to my now repurposed iPhone 6. I should be able to connect two watches to one phone and not cause issues since they are different watches anyway.

No longer syncs. After the latest update, when the name changed to Samsung Watch, my watch will no longer sync data with the app. The update caused me to lose all my saved data and now will not sync new data. It shows the sync as successful but no data is transferred. I have even attempted to reset my watch and all other trouble shooting I have been able to find. This app has been spotty at best since it came out with regards to connecting to my watch now it is useless. Reply to tech support.... Now I have two useless apps on my phone...I have the S3 Frontier... Not listed as a supported accessory and when I click on the S3 it takes me to the other useless watch app. Confirmed I have all updates on my watch. Any more suggestions besides switching to another brand of watches, which is a shame cause this is my 3rd Samsung Watch and everything was fine until your latest app update.

IOS user. I received a response from my earlier reviews a few days after I left the review. I had already fixed by deleting the app from my iPhone and doing a factory reset. This fresh install made everything start working again however I did lose all my watch faces that are not showing available any longer. I give a 5 star now because I love the fact that they responded and it works. Earlier review: I have had the watch for about 6 months and about a month in the raise hand gesture to wake quit working. I have it turned on in settings. I just did update where one of the changes is touch screen to wake and that doesn’t work either. Also about a month in the notifications of incoming calls and messages quit working. I get no sound or vibrations. I made sure theatre mode, do not disturb are not on. I have notifications turned on for the galaxy watch and messages. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and all software is up to date on both. I love the styling of the galaxy watch plus the personalization available over the Apple Watch but not happy with the issues I’m having. I can take a call and read messages when I see it is coming in on my phone. I used the Galaxy iOS app to ask for help several months ago but never got a response. I can’t find a number to call for text support.

Doesn’t work with IPhone XS. My Gear S2 used to work with my IPhone with the Samsung Gear S app, but after the upgrade to the Galaxy Watch app, it will no longer connect to my watch. The watch connects to the Bluetooth on my phone, but the app will not connect to let me finish the set up on my watch. The watch works perfectly other than that, but most of the features are useless if you don’t connect to the app. Guess I will be finding a new smart watch brand. ***Update regarding response from developer: No, I did not connect my watch to Bluetooth before the app. I followed all of the instructions exactly, including removing the watch as a previously connected device, checking for updates on both the app and the watch, and doing a hard reset on the watch. Look at ALL of these recent reviews from people who say they can’t connect since the app updated. Stop blaming your customers and fix your crappy app!!

No apps. I like that I can change the face of my watch the problem that I have is sometimes they’ll advertise you to click on a section that says seasonal faces and you click on it and it says no apps and then when you go into the system and you download all these different faces to be able to use later they’re not completely downloaded and then you have to re-download them and waste time doing that instead of just being able to pick and apply those are the two things I have found that I don’t like. Other than that it does make it easy to apply a new face to your watch and change the coloring and the brightness and whatever else once you have everything installed correctly.

Pretty much incompatible. I believe your iOS app is not working correctly. I used to have no issues whatsoever using the Galaxy Watch with the iPhone. For the past year the app has been crashing, all does not recognize the watch. It forces pretty much a reset. I go through the trouble of removing it from the list of Bluetooth devices, as it is requiring a new pairing every time I try to sync the watch to the app. It deletes every app and watch face I had downloaded, and the process of pairing the phone and the watch never finishes the job. It’s pretty useless, as now I have a watch that I can’t use, as its screen is stuck in a message telling me to finish the setup on the phone screen. The phone screen doesn’t have any messages indicating the setup is being completed, and indeed, it never completes anything. I used to love the watch, which now is useless. I had to resort to wearing an old Fitbit I had at home. My plan is to wait for the 2024 Apple Watch, which I’m sure won’t give me any trouble pairing up with an iPhone.

Recent App update has made watch reconnecting worse. Installed the latest App update a few weeks ago. Now if I walk away from the phone for 15min or more, the watch won’t reconnect With the Phone. This rarely happened with previous version of App. Now, with the App update, it happens constantly. Your developers have taken a step backwards with this new version and made its function worse. This has always been the weakness of this app- not staying connected and updating/syncing watch info. Update: iPhone XR. Seems it’s the IPhone Photos app or the Camera app(not sure which yet). After the latest Galaxy Watch app update, if either of these are running in the background , the watch disconnects from the phone and won’t reconnect until you kill and restart the Galaxy watch app and close the Photos and Camera apps. Sometimes you’ll have to reboot the watch too. Don’t update your app ! This ruins the experience of a great looking watch. Do not buy. Look back at all the comments from back a year, Samsung doesn’t care about getting this fixed.

Classic Samsung On An Apple Platform. Don’t know why there are reviews between 2 and 4 stars. Either you like it or you don’t. I think the Samsung Gear is better than the Apple Watch. They seem to always be one step ahead of Apple. So that’s the reason for the review I am writing. Since I prefer the Samsung Gear I need this program to interact with my phone. There are apps that could use work and there are those that are awesome and became an important thing that I use in life every, if not almost every day. I am so glad that all the apps associated with Samsung Gear are supported on the IPhone IOS and not locked out for example there are things you can do with a Mac IOS or a Windows system. Just really glad they didn’t go down that path with Apple’s IProducts. As far as this program is concerned, it’s going to probably be a choice for everyone on whether or not you like the Samsung Gear or the Apple Watch.

Love the compatibility. I am a Samsung user that switched over to apple, only because I was able to keep my Gear S3. It does everything as it did when I had it with my S8+, the only issue that I have with giving this 5 Stars is that while I get my phone call and text notifications they only show up as notifications and not within the text or phone apps. I can text and call from my watch and that is the only time I can really reference them. My calls do come in and I am able to answer them it’s just as previously stated I don’t see them in the apps if I missed them. Other than that, I am super happy with the compatibility as I have been researching this transition for the last several months just to see how it would work for others first and I am good with the results of my change over.

Bluetooth won’t connect to I phone 11. This app Did connect to my Samsung s2 and worked. I then disconnected the s2 and connected the s2 classic to my I phone 11. All is well. I then had an issue with the tap on screen function so I called Samsung customer service. They did not help much and said it would be $80 to fix. Now both watches (s2, and s2 classic) do not connect to my I phone 11. There is something wrong with this app, not the watches. I will go into the Bluetooth option and “forget this device”, after it will then find it and connect for 2 seconds. Then I’ll go back into this (Samsung gear S)app and it will Never connect when the watch is right next to the Iphone 11. There is something wrong with Samsung to I phone compatibility. This app needs to be refreshed or updated because this is unacceptable. Been using Samsung products for years and very disappointed with this App, and watches that can’t connect properly. Samsung do better!!!

Maybe a bug to fix then you get 5 start. I have an iPhone 11 and a gear3. I can’t reply to messages but that doesn’t bother me. I wanted the watch for notifications who’s works well. Now... to the “bug”, sometimes ( not every call, the frequency varies ).... when I get a phone call, the watch notifies me and then locks up. While the call is ringing in I use my phone to answer it. While I’m talking, my watch is still buzzing on my wrist and the notification screen shows the call trying to come in. As soon as I answer the phone, the watch notification should cease, but it doesn’t. I have to restart the watch. It happens enough that I chose to not allow the watch to show me phone calls. Even though I selected the “do not allow”.... the watch STILL shows me phone call notifications and locks up. I know it can’t be easy to have Samsung watch working on an iPhone which is why I still give 3 stars. Everything else works great. Fix this bug and you get 30 stars lol!

Galaxy Watch. At first it was great... until yesterday, more than 24 hours ago, I was trying to find my phone using the “find phone” feature on the watch. Regrettably, no audible tone sounded on my phone, which was in the same room, and I eventually found, without any assistance from the app. And the app no longer functions, other than a constant message: “finding your phone”. The dismiss button serves no function. The screen persists. I have rebooted both phone and watch multiple times, closed and reopened app multiple times, but the same message persists. I love the watch, despite the short 24 hr or less battery life, but I would love to have a useable app. If fixed I will gladly update this. Update: I had to delete the the app and reinstall to fix the issue. Now to get the battery to last the 3-4 days as advertised...

iPhone connectivity. I did tons of research and made my decision to get the galaxy watch for my iPhone X. I have never written a review before on the App Store so when I say I am trying my best, I really am. I am ok with all that the watch cannot do when connected to my iPhone. The problem I mainly have is that every few hours or so my watch loses Connectivity to my watch. I went to the Samsung store this morning and they simply reset the watch and it worked for a couple of hours. Now it’s not working again. It is not connecting to my phone even though it shows on my phone that it is connected to the watch?! Also, why are there two galaxy watch icons on my Bluetooth settings? Anyone????? I am not just resetting the watch every few hours.

Watch is great; app stinks. I just got my Samsung Gear 3 about a week ago, and was able to hook everything up relatively easily. Only problem is the health app on my phone is no longer displaying my sleep records. On my watch, I can only view it up to a certain period of time, but within the past few days, my sleep records are just gone on my phone. I tried searching for the separate “S Health Sleep” app to no avail, it just wasn’t showing up in the list of downloadable apps. Also, having to download the app watch faces from both your phone *and* watch kind of stinks, especially when you try to download one and it just sits there at 0%. Cancelling the download and restarting it works about 60% of the time. I get that having a Samsung and iPhone device syncing together will never be perfect, but I feel like these are some flaws Samsung should really try and resolve.

Horrible app.... ok watch. The Samsung Gear app seems to have 3 useful pieces of information at the top of the screen. The rest of the screen space and app is devoted to a bunch of offers to download more stuff. I thought that’s what the App Store was for. Samsung has a pretty powerful piece of hardware, but it’s hard to believe they did any research on the app/ interface. Of note, they’re promoting two different golf tools.... I don’t golf (less than 10% of the US does). So, why does Samsung think that when I open their app, that this is useful ? Another example... when you open the app you get to look at some number of watch faces. That might be nice to be able to change (a work face, weekend face, etc.); but is that the information that is important to me, out of all the information the watch collected on heart rate, exercise, sleeping, etc. ? Changing your watch face ought to be in some sub menu on the app.

Can’t gps track in real-time. I have the ATT LTE Galaxy watch 42mm rose gold. I can’t find an app that will let me the GPS location of the watch in real time. I bought it for my 9 yr old to have a way to call me or text me when away from home and that all works fine but if something was to happen and I needed her location I can’t get it. ALL Location services are ON with the GPS, WiFi, and Mobile Networks selected but even in the galaxy watch watch app it won’t let me click on find my watch because it’s grey since the watch is not in Bluetooth range. Even with Bluetooth off I still can’t click find my watch. I have safety assistance ON. Find my phone is ON. How can I track my connected Galaxy watch in real time on my iPhone 8+? I’m looking for something similar to how Apple allows iPhones and Other Apple devices to be tracked with the FIND MY IPHONE app?

The Out Dates Ones.... I have had an Samsung Gear original for 4 years and could never use it because I did not have a charger for it, I put it off for so long because it was not a necessity. Granted one day I finally catch the nerve to spend a whopping 3.99$ on a little plastic piece... I’ve been so excited to use it with my iPhone but seems as if the dinosaurs roamed the earth wearing these watches (Out Dated, for those who have no sense of humor.) Please don’t forget about us who don’t mind going retro:( I would download this app and flash my cheap “bling bling” To all whom appose! Please allow the great grandfather watch to be allowed back on the catwalk. If it even means bringing it back just for me... I’ll turn this messily two stars into a shining 5 stars! Along with the worlds greatest review! I beg you please!!! Don’t forget us... -The Outdated Ones

Really like it BUT.... I don’t wear watches, i have a drawer with 1/2 dozen or saw that i tried over the years and just didn’t wear them. This one, well its way different and i am hooked on the gadgetry. Seriously, who doesn’t enjoy getting reminders its time for a “torso twist?” Love being able to check my stress level, heart rate, altitude, weather, Reddit posts, etc. etc. The round dial with changeable faces...seriously very cool. Never bored with the freshness of the look. Now what I am not keen on...flipping iphone lack of messaging, email, etc. Guys/gals, get that stuffed polished up and a professional release of real iphone integration. The current release is more of a hack job then quality based release from a behemoth brand like Samsung. Frequent Bluetooth disconnects are annoying and frustrating. You can do better! Eagerly awaiting for ApplePlay integration...

Works With iPhone 6s Plus. I read a lot of reviews about compatibility with iPhone before getting my Galaxy Watch (standalone version from T-Mobile). Everything I found said I would lose a lot of functionality because iOS did not play well with Samsung products. I’m happy to report that I can make and receive calls and texts without issue, even if I turn my iPhone off and leave it at home (reviews all said I would not be able to reply to texts from my watch). Almost everything seems to work without issue with the major exception of Samsung Pay. I’ve paired my watch with a Samsung phone, and I must admit this is a function I will really miss as I don’t like carrying a phone and wallet when I work out. Apple Pay won’t work on the watch either, for obvious reasons. One other thing that is not working on my watch (which worked when paired to a Samsung phone) is the voice to text feature. I think it worked when I first linked the iPhone, but it’s stopped working. This is a feature I hope can be fixed since it’s difficult to type out even short texts on the little screen.

Love it. When it works.. Love the look and feel of the watch but after a few weeks it stopped working correctly. Seems like lots of people with the same problem - it connects and disconnects constantly to my iPhone X Bluetooth, doesn’t receive notifications even when connected, etc. rebooting, re-pairing, reinstalling, factory resets, nothing works. Bummer cause it’s a really nicely built watch. Thanks for the reply, but that did nothing. I rebooted the watch again today, got a few notifications, looked at my phone and then the notifications disappeared on my watch and stopped coming in again. No luck with any solutions so far. I’m happy to try more ideas but this is really weird since others seem to be having a very different experience.

Can’t use the watch anymore. ***Update**** 6/1 - So after tinkering with my phone upgrading and downgrading iOS versions and resetting my phone, the issue seems to disappear when my phone is completely wiped clean, but won’t connect at all if I restore my backup, so I’m guessing just a issue with iOS maybe or my phone in general, figuring it out was a bit of a hassle but just backed up my contacts and photos and wiped it to be able to use it again. So I am able to use my watch again, thanks to support for reading the reviews look forward to using it for much more and look forward to updates :) only gripe with the app is I wish I could send music from my phone but I understand why we can’t send straight from out phone so overall still a great app :) 5/28 - I loved using my gear S2 with my iPhone XR and it worked for a long while with no major issues, but recently it hasn’t worked at all it won’t connect through the app at all. I haven’t found a fix online at all either and have read people have started experiencing this issue as well.

Samsung app plus Samsung watch makes a perfect match. The app works great with the watch. I am not really an IT kind of guy but I was hoping that there is a way to text with the Samsung watch using the app. Even if we had to download a special app. The app runs smooth no complaints. The Bluetooth connectivity works super well and calls are loud and clear. App combines with Samsung health and watch makes apple user a happy guy. Happy that I got the Samsung watch and app instead of the maçã watch. Obrigado Samsung. And on a personal level I have been a Samsung fan for a long time. Thank you for it great products. And if wondering why I switch to Maçã is because of my wife. But soon I will bring her to the Samsung side.

It’s okay, needs work. (Long review). It’s a classic Apple vs Samsung. Pairing the Samsung Gear Watch to an Apple iPhone you are guaranteed to not have full capabilities. 1: You cannot respond to text messages. 2: You can read texts, emails and, normal notifications. 3: You can send and receive calls. Sometimes the app crashes for no reason, it’s normal you just have to restart it. I give props for Samsung releasing their app on the App Store, it just needs more work more often. It currently (3/3/18) works just fine on the iPhone X. I know that this app wasn’t a guarantee in the first place of me buying a Gear S3. I like being able to receive texts and respond via my phone. I use my Gear everyday even though there are some issues occasionally and I enjoy it to the maximum. Both Samsung and Apple are great companies with flaws. Nothing is perfect.

Nothing works. For some reason I didn’t use the watch for a week then the time became ridiculous. It’s several days ahead and restart can’t fix it. I did a hard reset and try to connect it again it can’t pair anymore. I had several bad experiences with Samsung and this will be my last time

Bluetooth connection failing in the app. Response to developer: i tried all those videos but nothing works. What i want to point here is that the issue is the app as previously my watch can connect and after an update to the app it lost its connection and up until now it doesnt work. I tried connecting my galaxy gear s2 to this app but doesnt work. I factory reset my watch and still no avail. What i noticed is that in the app it can see my gear s2 but with an LE at the end but when i look at the bluetooth menu in my iphone it cant see it but doesnt have LE. I tried connecting directly to my phone and it works but since the app can’t connect to the watch it can’t finish the watch setup. Very dissapointed with this app.

Reply messages and can’t get notifications from Facebook and messanger. I can’t get notifications from Facebook and messanger.. also can’t typing or replying messagess.. my device is iPhone 8 Plus.. please know me that I could I solve that problem?? After solving this give 5 stars to this app..

It does what Apple allows it to do. This App works as I expected it to do, rather than what I would have liked. That’s not a Samsung fault, it’s Apple’s insane policy of trying to make its own product look good by sabotaging support software for better 3rd party hardware. Even with the limited feature set, my G3 Classic and my iPhone give me the best wearable for my needs and this App makes that work.

Good but not great. Hopefully Galaxy or Gears watches lovers able to see more apps features and functionality available similar to pairing with Galaxy phones in the near future and improve notifications and apps/watch faces availability for iphone users. Google maps and compass will be a good start!

No support for newer watches. Looks like it’s been 2 years since the Galaxy Watch 3 was added. Having recently bought a galaxy watch4 it’s incredibly upsetting to see that there is no support for this device and no plans to support it. 10months ago from the writing of this review was the most recent update. It was ‘bug fixes’. Where is the support for your current devices samsung?

No galaxy watch 4 support. A bit disapointing that a galaxy watch 4 doesn't work with an iPhone.. the experience on a galaxy watch 4 is abysmal even with a Samsung device and wasn't what was promised by Samsung anyway. But you'd expect at least some basic functionality support on an iPhone for Samsung's flagship wearable product... If only Samsung, Apple and Google would actually collaborate to work towards a thriving wearable industry we might actually have a viable, good looking and functional wearable...

Galaxy 4. Got my new watch Galaxy 4 watch today. Went to pair it with this Samsung app. App doesn’t have Galaxy 4 as an option. So I proceed with one of the other watch options and it’s finds my watch G4 Classic. But doesn’t pair even though my Bluetooth clearly picks it up. Shut down the app, rebooted, same with Bluetooth turned on and off, the watch itself- same, reinstall the app you name it, still doesn’t pair. Got an expensive piece of equipment that can’t be used, what a disappointment

Unlock e-sim!. Love the watch, but I Don’t understand why you are locking the watch to the Samsung phone. It is only half useful to me which is why I gave half the star rating. I purchased the esim so I can use it without the phone, but you have locked it. Please open it up to be fully functional with Apple devices so I can send texts, etc

Unable to connect. I have had my watch with Samsung phone, seemed to work fine. I recently switched to an IPhone, but appears that there is an issue with connecting the galaxy watch through the app. The app does not indicate any incompatibility. It is a galaxy active watch and Bluetooth connects through the phone so the issue seems to sit with the app.

Not a problem. Sorry Samsung I’m an iPhone lover but not a fan of Apple Watch. However I love my new Samsung 46mm Watch... it’s just awesome. The app? Not a problem. It links with my iPhone and does almost everything. The only thing I don’t get is iMessages . I can live with that.

Good but could be better. Seems it’s a Samsung app working in a Apple phone we can understand exist some issues and incompatibility, but something very annoying and in my view could be easier to fix is the bug in the galaxy store where we can not open any product view using a link from outside the app, for example the watch faces, it’s pretty old the watch faces available in the galaxy store and when I try to open using the link in the galaxy store form the navigator the galaxy store app just comes back to the initial page, it’s kind a infinite looping, even using the banners from the galaxy store initial page, after click in some banner showing some new watch face the page just loading to the initial page again and even when I go to the owner page in the galaxy store it’s available only small amount of old watch faces, if I open the same page in the navigator I can see much more new watch faces. Could you guys please fix this problem, looks is only a kind of update the lost of products to be able in the galaxy store for iPhones. Thank you 😉

Phone. Hi, I’m not writing about the app specifically but for some stupid reason I used to have a samsung j1 and my watch would not connect at all to it

Works extremely well. Great phone - with hundreds of watch faces to choose from. The only reason 4 stars and not 5 is due to the non existence of a good GPS trail / tracking app/ route marker. This was the main feature I had expected from a GPS phone. I hope one of the many freelance developers can produce an App that can be used in hiking to prevent getting lost. The GPS works well and a map is produced when using the sports feature for hiking, walking or cycling but does not have a feature to use the map for orientation. Several free apps are available for heading and location but not route marking. Even a Compass would be great.

Shockingly unstable. The Galaxy Watch is an excellent device and I very much enjoy it however, the iOS app is atrocious. It constantly crashes while updating watch apps. I’m sure it causes my watch to randomly factory reset itself. It completely forgets the connection to my watch such that when I reopen the app after it has crashed, it launches the initial setup and pairing, and there seems to be no way around it. The features of the app are quite reasonable, but they are almost unusable because the app itself is so unstable. I’m nervous every time I open it as it is liable to reset the watch which means I have to re-customise every setting and reinstall every app. It takes about 20mins to do this. Every time. Diagnostics are not supported at all, so when I reported these issues to Samsung their response was “connect the watch to a Samsung”. How about trying to help instead of sending me on a wild goose chase to a Samsung store, of which there are none anywhere near where I live? Very disappointed.

Drop out. Bought the galaxy watch but every few weeks it resets and I have to uninstall the program then download it again. Then reinstall all watch faces and other programs including all app updates undertaken.

Sour Grapes. The galaxy watch is by far a better product then the I watch. They deliberately sabotage this app on iOS and restrict its use to the point of being useless because even they know that Samsung make better hardware. I’m happy to leave my I watch in the drawer and wait for galaxy s9 - unless you want to get annoyed don’t bother with this app.

Shift worker. I work shift work, the sleep recorder needs to distinguish this, e.g. when I record my sleep during the day it shows no record of this, it will only record sleep that occur during games the night

There should be having more than galaxy 3 options on IPhone. I got a Galaxy4 on my BDay and figured out that Apple doesn’t have Galaxies more than 3. So if you can put down more options, then no one will switch to Apple Watch. (No offence Apple)

Works well with my galaxy S2 sport. After switching to an iPhone 8 after several years of using an galaxy s7 with my watch, I was pleasantly surprised that the iPhone app worked well for me. I just use it for motivations and basic step counting etc. I don't use any GPS. My favourite (free)watch face disappeared when I linked to the iPhone but I need to find one quite similar so I'm pretty happy overall.

It simply doesn’t work. Gear S3 watch simply doesn’t work with iPhone. And the main reason is this terrible app. It struggles to connect with the watch. Every time your watch is drained and turned off, its a nightmare to connect it again with the iphone. It kills the whole purpose of a smart watch. I suggest developers to focus on basics and stabilise the connection and forget about additional features. This is important if Samsung wants to keep selling Galaxy Watch (which is better than an Apple Watch) to iphone users.

Galaxy watch 4 support. I got a galaxy watch 4 just after I changed to iPhone 13 pro max as a gift. I like how the watch looks so I wanna keep it. Just wanted to know if it’s supported or going to be supported in the future?

No notifications with iPhone iOS13. Hello, I cannot receive any notification from my iPhone after I upgrade to IOS13, but only call. Can you please let me know how to fix it? Thank you

Awful does not sync or work since 1st June 2018. I don’t know why but it is now bricked. I blame the software, it had gone from being functional to non functional. I’ve tried every faq and help to reset and get the watch and app to work again to no avail. I can only blame sloppy software programmers not testing the release properly before launch. It would be better to have less features and a functional product Than this rancid pile of dung. Avoid beware. Common issue.

App works really well!. Just switched from Apple Watch to Samsung Galaxy as I was sick of how limited the Apple Watch is. Am so so pleased with how well the Samsung Galaxy watch works with my iPhone. Only issues with the app; 1. I can’t see the price of any of the watch faces and apps?? Why is this?? 2. The app seems to run fairly slowly and sometimes freezes up.

Doesn’t work!!!. I will only give this app 4 or 5 stars when you fix the synch (doesn’t work at all even when you press synch), allow us to edit the water and caffeine intake coz the features seem so basic nowadays! I remember when you could even track your sleep coz now I just have this app that sits on my phone doing nothing! It has been long overdue! Please fix this issue!

Review. Thanks for your response. However.... the problem still exists. The watch is not attaching to my phone through the app. Please help. I wrote a negative view explaining my situation of the app. You have not put it up on your rating listing. Why.????? I have a Gear S2 watch, which I reset to clear up memory etc.... I now have issues trying to connect to the Gear App. The watch says Gear S2 (7CBF) and my Bluetooth sees it and attaches as well. The App then won’t connect and displays Gear S2 (7CBF) LE This is not the name of the watch therefore won’t attach. Please help. Ive done heaps of research online and reset again and updated watch over wifi too. Delete and reinstalled the app. Update to latest iOS. Still no good.

Over it. Every time you update this app you break something, the following update will fix it most of the time but then proceed to break it again at a further date... honestly Samsung if you can make phones and watches surely you can make an app that just “Works” or are your app developers too busy playing fortnight? FYI couple of points to fix this time round (I’ll be sure to update this list once you break something in the next update) 1. Samsung health no longer shows anything from my gear s2 anymore. I do a manual sync etc but will not show up in the app. Thankgod notifications at least still show up on the watch. 2. Your sync in Samsung health has NEVER worked. I always click sync then wait 5minutes and does not update the date it last synced let alone sync’d at all. Mine shows it last syncd over 6 months ago.. go figure right?. Because of this issue I lost all my health data when one of your famous app updates broke Samsung health so I had to reconnect my phone to get some sort of connection. From a distressed longtime Gear user.

Useless and misleading. I’ve received onscreen confirmation of backups (date and time) and syncing but when I reset the watch as advised by Samsung for troubleshooting I discovered no backup actually existed. Samsung support couldn’t assist and told me I need to submit the watch for service, but Samsung won’t accept liability for loss of data. If I don’t have a backup and this can’t be fixed but I will lose my data during servicing and resetting, then this watch is not fit for purpose for iOS users. Really frustrated and angry about the amount of time I’ve wasted and the lack of appropriate support to address this. I certainly can’t be the only one this has happened to.

Great but DUDE PLEASE MAKE IT FOR IPAD. Alrighty, so, I have a gear s3 frontier my dad gave me, and I want to connect using Bluetooth to my Samsung galaxy tab a6, and I also tried my iPad. I’m trying to set up Samsung galaxy a6 phone and it doesn’t work and I’m also using the app on my tab a6 and apparently I don’t have 1.5gb of free space, when I have 3.29gb of free space! So I need to use my iPad, which of course, I can’t use. Make it for iPad PLEASEEEEEE!

Galaxy 46mm LTR Needs more iOS compatibility!!. Close to a great app but.... Would be great if you could update the Galaxy watch app to allow NFC- Samsung pay, text message reply/send support! My current work around is syncing Watch to mates Galaxy S7 to set up NFC and the run watch on cellular only! Now not synced to any phone I won’t get notifications of text or emails pushed from phone. I can make/receive phone calls perfectly this way but when texting my watch uses different (Telstra one number) number! People can only text me via that “random number” when through cellular. PLEASE UPDATE TO INCLUDE COMPATIBILITY FOR NFC AND iMessage or SMS texting.

Great app. This is a great app , easy to use , with a heap of functions and very user friendly options . Using with iPhone limits some functionality but overall very happy with it !!! 😄😄😄

Apple showing their truest, trashiest colours.. This app has been utterly gutted. Apple has disabled Samsung Pay as far as I know, so I have used someone’s old S6 to make the watch function, and then threw it into airplane mode. I’m almost sad my watch doesn’t do more but meh. I do blame my Stockholm syndrome towards apple phones.

Great product, to become even greater!. I’m connecting a Gear 3 to an iPone 7 and it works! I can sync apps, photos and the weather too! Battery life is ok if I use it in Airplane mode and BT on, enough to stay connected to the phone. I wish I could uninstall Samsung Health completely as I don’t use it and it chews up battery life in the background. I turned Off everything on Samsung Health on the phone, but App is quite stubborn to stay On. Could you please help? Thanks

Can not connect to health after update. I have a Samsung gear sport watch that has always worked. The recent updates make it impossible for Samsung health to register/connect to a new device or my watch... it takes you back to the Samsung watch app like a continuous loop but does not allow it to be connected to the Healy app even though it shows connected in the Samsung watch app. Please fix this. Happy to send a video of the issue

Cannot get it to connect. I just recently purchased a new phone and cannot get the watch to connect to my iPhone 15. I have an old Samsung s20 which the watch connected to with no issues. But now the app says the same thing - turn Bluetooth off and on, restart watch. I even reconnected it to the old phone with no issues just to try and problem solve and to completely delete the watch from the old phone. Once I tried again to connect the watch to the iPhone I was met with the same troubleshooting prompts. I didn’t have this much issue with the galaxy buds connecting to the iPhone Disappointing

App connection drops out constantly. I have just had my Samsung galaxy active watch replaced after a month after it would not connect via Bluetooth to my iPhone X... however it still WILL NOT connect via Bluetooth for more than an hour and I have to reset the watch each time it drops out to be able to connect it back to my phone.. Please fix this

Good watch, is ok with iPhone. I really enjoy this watch. Great look, feel, operation, constant good really. The odd loss of connection with my iphone8. And unfortunately that's the problem, i own an iPhone. That means i lose out on s voice, replying to messages and a few other functions that really make the watch great. I still enjoy the watch, it's just a shame to be punished for not having a Samsung phone.

Can’t make and receive call on watch and can’t setup sos too. My iPhone is iPhone 6 with iOS12.5.1 and my watch is gear 3 frontier and Bluetooth pairing both Gear 3(80FD) and Gear3 (80FD) LE. There are no call in either one (i). So, call can’t be received and make on watch. Moreover, there are no SOS function can be chosen and setup. Furthermore, iOS facer companion for Samsung watch on watch but facer on phone can’t sync to the watch. Please follow up.

A Flawed Experience. I’ve been a Gear S3 owner for nearly a year now, and during that time, I have switched from a Samsung device to an Apple iPhone. There are some suggestions I would like to address for a better iOS experience for the Gear. - Samsung Pay support (WearOS can use Google Pay with iOS, why not Samsung?) - Ability to update Gear software on iOS - should be mandatory - Some Samsung watch faces not available on iOS (specifically, the Gear Sport faces which has no reason to be omitted; there’s no link to the restrictions of iOS) - Calendar agenda widget not available (doesn’t make sense, as Calendar app does sync on iOS, and there’s a month view widget available) - Calendar syncing incorrect; some events do not show up on the watch Overall, I love how Samsung isn’t insensitive and restrict its products. iOS compatibility is great, but there are some obvious issues and limitations which would make this a great experience. Most importantly: download Gear OS updates and Samsung Pay.

Works well. Reasonably comprehensive set of features and easy to use plus connect your watch. So far no problems…

One very happy customer. After the recent iPhone update and Apples attempt to prevent the use of anything other than Apple Watch to use the iPhone, the creators of this amazing app have worked out how to get things back on track..Thank you so so much for helping and fixing the issue. One VERY happy customer xx

Good - but seems to be missing a few things.. I bought the watch as an app I needed was not available for the Apple Watch - and the Apple Watch was a step I do not plan to take. The app itself works well but the integration between the iPhone and the Samsung Watch is difficult. Getting it to work on my network without having a Samsung phone was impossible, so I borrowed one and fixed that. After a day playing about I got all the features working except two: 1. Curiously, this app does not allow the name of the Watch to be changed, as the one on the Samsung phone allows. This should be a simple fix by the developers so I wonder if I’ve just missed it. 2. Samsung Pay on the watch does not appear, and short of starting all over again I’m not sure how to fix that. Other than the above, it’s working well, just needing a fair bit of mucking around in the settings to get it right.

Samsung Pay. Hi, Active 2 watch is incredible inventions with useful features. However, transition to using an iPhone I observed Samsung pay is missing :/ devops please provide us Samsung pay or atleast google pay.

DONT USE. Apple should take this out of the store it does not work well with iPhones you will only have problems, the only reason you would use the galaxy watch is that it looks great compared to the Apple Watch, also the quality on the Samsung watch is bad, had two replaced one the screen was off centre and the second was the Bluetooth kept dropping out all the time and then it just resets itself

So far seems to be a good Working progress. Have iPhone 7+ connected to s3 frontier definitely useable minor problems here and there that appear and disappear here and there keep up the good work being able to increase and decrease lift sensitivity to wake without snapping wrist would be a good addition would love Apple Music app would be great to see apple play ball for full support and access but maybe one day

Connection Always an Issue. Watch won't automatically connect to the phone & app. To connect you have to open the app each time the watch disconnects. As well as this, if the app is already open you have to shut it down and re open the app so it will connect again. For something that should work easily this is far from that. Once you do get connected it's ok but it is very tedious

Doesn’t sync steps in iOS Health. If you are using Qantas Wellbeing app and iPhone, then my comment is important to you. I just got my Samsung Galaxy watch and find there is NO way you can sync the steps data to the Qantas Wellbeing app. I spoke to the support from Samsung, Apple and Qantas wellbeing app and there is no resolution. Support of Qantas wellbeing reveals that there is no open API from Samsung Health that is available to the developers and the step data is also not freely available to be transferred from one application to another There are plenty of 3rd party health tracking apps out there and I believe all of them will get health tracking data from iOS API which makes sense to get the data from iOS Health natively The crux of the problem is the step data not writing to iOS Health or the iOS Samsung Health app does not write the step data to the iOS Health app

Software Updates. Got a new Active 2 and had ongoing connectivity issues with my iPhone X. I was able to connect the watch to a Samsung phone and I managed to get all software updates installed the IOS app was not showing. Connectivity issues are fully resolved and I can now fully enjoy the Samsung watch on my iPhone. I am hoping for an update to the app that will identify new software releases for the watch, or otherwise I need to always disconnect from iPhone, connect to Samsung and start all over again

.. I got given the watch as a gift connected it to a phone that no longer works now and found it my last phone was Samsung it worked really easily with that but now I have the iPhone 14 I’m struggling it can’t connect it properly and keeps telling me to try turn my Bluetooth on and off and I tried that it didn’t work I tried turning the watch on and off like it said I watched tutorials and it didn’t work and the watch is disconnected from the other phone so I don’t get why it isn’t working

No Watch4 Compatibility. As the title states, no compatibility with the Watch 4. Incredibly disappointing.

App won’t connect to iPhone. Phone and watch paired successfully but the app is stuck on “Your watch not appearing?” screen. I’ve tried everything but the app just won’t recognize the watch and move past the screen. No response from Samsung. I’m so frustrated I feel like smashing this watch.

Does the basics, but lacks full functionality. Just downloaded the app on my work-issued iPhone 6S and paired it to a new Galaxy Watch 42mm this past weekend (22 Feb 2019). It does the basics: gives me notifications for my texts, FB messages, and work emails (my agency utilizes a third-party app for emails), and allows me to install and manage the apps that I want (that I can also find). My biggest gripes are that I can't seem to find apps that aren't free (there is an aviation app that doesn't seem to be available for iPhone users); I can't answer or reject calls on the watch; I can't draft reply texts; I can't set up/use the SOS feature; I can't set up/use remote connection and sync the WiFi profiles; etc, etc. Not sure if the issues are on the Apple side or the Samsung side, but boy it's frustrating.

Latest iPhone update has restrictions. I have iPhone 8 and pair it with Samsung Gear Watch 46mm. You can receive text messages but cannot reply to them. No email features either. Supposedly when Apple came out with iOS13 these features were blocked due to Privacy restrictions. I am hoping one day they will be reintroduced and I can have full functionality. This watch is great and never drops Bluetooth pairing. I can still receive and make calls, receive texts but not reply, receive calendar updates and notifications. I mainly purchased for workout reasons and for this I am happy. GPS is great with Map my Run app and even Samsung’s own health app.

Very good support app. Today I paired a new Samsung Gear Sport using this app. I’m happy to say it went well. The interface is clean and professional, it is well laid out with plenty of apps and watch faces to pick from, links to Samsung Health and gives me the support I need to get the most out of this watch. Most people who pan this app seem to expect too much. Obviously you will get more functionality if you pair a Samsung watch with a Galaxy; but I’m actually quite pleased at the high level of functionality I get with this. It does what I want it to do and then some. It is fair to compare this to any other third party watch app. When you do I would submit this is as helpful and easy as any other app supporting non-Apple hardware. I’d like to see Samsung provide more frequent updates; but what’s there now is pretty good. Keep your expectations reasonable and you’ll be very happy.

Messages. When I first bought the Samsung Galaxy Active 2 Watch, everything worked perfectly. As soon as I updated to iOs 13, my watch will NO LONGER RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES, WHATSAPPS, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF MESSAGE NOTIFICATION. I have tried contacting support in order to fix this, and no one seems to be able to help. This is the top reason why I bought this watch, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of notifications and the lack of response from support. Update: I tried everything I was told in the response, and nothing happened. I’m still having the same problem. Update 2: I’ve already sent multiple messages via the Contact Us section in the app, I’ve received responses that do not help. I’m very upset at the lack of care from everyone involved in support, and extremely annoyed that my message notifications simply don’t work... PLEASE HELP WITH AN ACTUAL SOLUTION Update 3: Its been over a month since I asked for help with this issue, through this rating & through the contact section in the app. MY WATCH STILL DOES NOT RECEIVE MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS & I HAVE RECEIVED NO HELP

Wish battery life was better. Love all features of this except the battery. If I wear to bed to track my sleep, 20% is gone when I wake up (6 hrs of sleep) and by the time I get home from work it’s done to 12-10%. Out of all the smart watches I have had, this battery is the worse. For the price, battery should last much longer. I can get a good day of battery by not wearing to bed but that is 1 reason I bought it. I have minimum features on it so that is not the issue. I could probably squeeze 1-1/2 days without charging but I’d have to carry the charger with me. Again, that defeats the purpose.

Great Galaxy watch and app with iPhone!. All-round Winner! (my 46mm)... with some iOS/iPhone-Tizen/Gaxaxy integration matters that will or won’t be remediated over time. Example: The Galaxy “Find My Phone” app really works from the watch now that I selected OK from the iPhone display popup that asked to connect with the Galaxy Watch for calls etc...(: ...The numerous accessories (apps, bands, faces...) from various vendors are adding to the Watch utility, and wrist time. Thanks for the great Watch! ..... UPDATE: Find My Phone not working again from the watch (other way works great).....

I love my Samsung watches. I have 2 of them and those are the active 2 that was a gift from my brother and the watch 3 that was a gift from my wife, now I used the active 2 and had no problems just wish I could respond to text messages thru the watch. Now with watch 3 the messages take some time to arrive on my watch compared to the active 2 other then that I have no problems I do wish I could use both watch’s without having to reset the entire watch in case I wanna switch watch’s weekly. Also I do hope they allow responding from the watch the messages that would be great. Please look into these things and it would greatly improve the use for those of us that recieve these watches as gifts.

Works great but.......... I have no technical complaints about the watch. It works amazingly well and the few hickups it has are minimal. My complaint is about their bands. So the app and watch combo get 5 stars but I dock points for the two size fits most bands. I’m 6’4” and have a large frame. Your biggest band barely fits on my wrist using the last notch. And with as tight as the last notch makes it it’s VERY uncomfortable when i am sweating. You don’t seem to offer larger ones either. Poor design for something so expensive.

Awesome!!!. I’ve had the S3 frontier for about a year now and I absolutely love it. Recently I’ve been having problems with the app closing when it’s searching for my watch, or if it does connect it won’t let me download any watch faces (says timed out) or the app closes. I do get notifications and everything else. I have the iPhone XS Max. I’ve uninstalled the app and downloaded again. I don’t want to reset my watch because I don’t want to lose any faces that I do have. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it. Thanks for any help.

Why offer option for older watch but not newer?. I was going to try this out from a family member who was previously using it (and has a Samsung phone) but there’s no option for Galaxy Watch 6. Why offer a connection option for even the original Galaxy Watch 1, but not for the improved Galaxy Watch 6? I can connect it via Settings app, but not through the app made for this which makes it useless. Also, it hasn’t been updated in a year, so maybe they gave up on IOS. Not that they have, but I’m just saying something. Three stars for potential.

Refurbished 3. So far so good. All in all I really like it. Cons first, it doesn’t synch as fluently and consistently as I’d like…. It’s bpm and cal counter aren’t as accurate as other systems. But it isn’t bad. Only exercise counter is a little clunky and limited though they give many options. Functionality needs to be cleaned up. For what I wanted it works great.. helps me track my health statistics and has many additional features. All day long I like better than limited Fitbit. If the fit was cheaper then would have been a comparison. Didn’t compare to fully loaded fit. All the apps are good the health tracker works really good.

Won’t connect to my watch anymore. Samsung Health app connects just fine to my iPhone 7, and I can synchronize data. But the Galaxy Watch the app will not connect at all anymore. It was working just fine for over a year, and all of a sudden it just stopped. It got stuck on syncing, and reinstalling the app does not help. Update: My watch is a Samsung Galaxy Active2. It appears that the Health app still works and the watch itself still syncs via Bluetooth, But the Galaxy Watch app itself appears to have lost all of its data and will not connect. Which means I cannot show weather data on my watch, I can’t install new watch faces, etc. Very strange to me that the Galaxy Watch app would do such a thing after over a year of working just fine.

Inconsistent. The app was good before it updated (before it was more rudimentary and the update made it much more slick). While I appreciate the visual revamp of the app, it now doesn’t consistently pick up my Galaxy Watch, despite my phone showing connection to both Galaxy Watch & Galaxy Watch LE. On the rare occasion it does pick up my watch, it’s stuck on “finishing pairing” for ages. I would give it 4 stars if this issue didn’t happen, and won’t go lower than 3 because I know it has worked and CAN work. I’ve tried restarting my watch too, to no avail. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

App Is Nice But No Message/Email Support. Update: Thanks to the developer’s response, I now get text and email notifications on my watch. As promised, I’ve changed this to 5 stars. Thank you for you’re help. Love the watch and app! I love my Gear S3 watch. It looks great and works well. This app connects the watch and my phone almost flawlessly. My only problem: no email or message notifications. I get notifications from my iPhone XR on the watch for just about everything else—reminders, snapchat, instagram...but nothing when I get a text message or email. If I could get those to work I’d give this 5 stars for sure.

Absolute garbage. My Samsung Galaxy watch will no longer sync with either version of the Samsung Health- the app or the version via Galaxy Watch app. I don’t know what Samsung did because this had worked without fail for at least two years, but now that the Health app won’t be available via the Galaxy app later this year everything is hosed. To add half of the fitness apps that were supported for Galaxy watches are now gone. So basically I’m left with an expensive notification watch. My Health data won’t sync to my iPhone from my watch. All Samsung Health does is pull the steps from my phone which are not the most accurate. What a waste of money for only two years of compatibility. I urge you to invest in another platform with better interoperability with iPhones that doesn’t throw out support from “older” watches after a year or two.

IOS please. While I like many are not a fan of Samsung Phones, I do love my SG3 watch, however no longer can get texts or calls if paired with a iOS device. Please, please please give us this feature or develop an app that can be on both devices that will at least allow texts(sms). And need a way that if you are iOS user, a way to pay for apps thru this app for the Galaxy Store. Thanks and hope developers can make this happen. Be amazed how many don’t like Apple Watch but do the Galaxy watch, but prefer the iPhone over Samsung phone.

Great watch. I love this watch!!!! It works so well. I currently am using an iPhone 6, but am looking to upgrade to a Samsung 10 and thought this would be a great way to transition to Samsung. All of the fitness features worked great. My only complaints were that there weren’t many apps I could get, and also sometimes the heart rate sensor doesn’t work very well, but it usually works. Also since I’m using iOS, it doesn’t let me respond to messages or take calls but I can live with it for the time being. The stress feature worked pretty well but it works on heart rate so sometimes it is really high or low.

App works!. I gave 4 stars only because the app seems to periodically lose connection with the Galaxy Watch. I don’t know if the problem is on my end or if the issue resides with the app. UPDATE: It’s nice to know that the developer of this app reads comments. I got a response to my concern and now my phone and Galaxy Watch stay connected. Battery life is excellent, I can make and receive phone calls and I can read texts and emails. As for not being able to respond to texts from the watch, come on people, give the developer a break. Best I can tell, that is an iPhone or platform issue not a design error. Not having these features was not a deal breaker for me because I knew about this before I purchased. I bought the watch because of the look. It looks like the kind of watch I wanna wear. There is still a place in my life for the iWatch but my everyday watch is the Galaxy Watch.

Works as (should be) expected!!. I’ll start off with saying that the full functionality isn’t available, compared to paired Samsung devices. NumberSync would be fantastic but the proprietary software and security measures aren’t breakable between the two companies ... deal with it! All alerts and notifications come through just fine when paired correctly. The remote control for the music apps is great. The reasonings for the shortcomings of the app do not lie with the app, but rather certain very technical security purposes.

Typical Samsung. No updates or product support.. My old watch broke and I was given a Samsung Galaxy Watch4 as a gift. Sadly, it dose not work with this app on iOS as they have not updated the app in over a year to support newer products. (Much like their kitchen appliances and our washer/dryer that can’t get repair parts after a year and a half.) In my experience, Samsung seems to have a habit of abandoning product fairly quickly, and this app is another example. So Samsung, if you are making newer watches, why are you not supporting these newer watches in your app? Maybe it’s time I just stop buying Samsung products. My next TV and fridge will not be a Samsung. Off to sell this device on EBay. 😞

Won’t work with the gear s2. I’ve had a gear s2 classic for almost 4 years and since the last update it will not connect to my iPhone 8+. It worked fine for over a year until a few weeks ago. The Samsung “pros” I talked to pretty much said oh well too bad . Update...... The watch still won’t connect to the app, the video the developers sent a link to is to connect a different watch than mine to a different phone than mine, which was no help at all. According to my watch it is up to date with the updates. The app just sits on a window saying connecting to watch then times out after about 30 seconds and stops trying to connect. I’m really getting frustrated with the help I’m not receiving.

Lack of support. I did love my galaxy active watch until about a month ago. I’ve had it for 5 months. Was receiving text messages and phone call alerts on my watch until I updated iPhone X to 13.0 version now I don't get text messages. My watch only alerts me to my phone making phone calls. I looked online and the Samsung support site, did everything suggested. I reset to factory settings. Did not fix it. My galaxy active app no longer has the ‘text’ link I’m settings. I was told from support chat that it’s an app issue and they were not sure when it would get an update! I am very disappointed. One of the reasons i got a smart watch was for text messages and didn’t like the look of the Apple Watch.

Very Lacking. To start off with a disclaimer, I am an Apple guy. You name it, I have it from Apple. However, I really liked the gear S3 frontier and decided to give it a try. I am sure they don’t care if it works with my iPhone or not, but I find it pretty shoddy it doesn’t. Not good business practice there Samsung. I like the watch and think in some ways it is a superior product over the Apple Watch, but this app is flat out worthless and so is Samsung health. I had a vivo fit HR prior to this purchase and it worked as advertised, had a wonderful app and never had any hiccups. This app rarely maintains a connection with the phone via Bluetooth. Every time you delete the app, you wipe you watch. Hell, I still have not gotten S Health to sync with it once. This was your chance to provide me with an alternative to Apple and you failed miserably.

Amazing app compatibility and watches. I am a long time iOS user but upon research Apples watch couldn't proved a wrist band big enough to fit my wrist with my Samsung frontier s3 the convenience of its body all my fossil bands fit on the frame and they offer a wide vase of selection of bands them self and even outsourced and I had no problems with set up Now the watch does come with some ups and down yes the watch has some capability restrictions which is to be expected as Apple makes it difficult for any outsource brand that ain't there's to Work but it does the job heart rate step Counter calendar reminders controls and notifications are top notch the app makes even more at ez when looking for a different face for the watch with so many to offer I do recommend this brand for iOS I have used many others and none compare Samsung's other than iOS it's self Note I've owned my frontier s3 for 2 1/2 years now wifey for for me on Father's Day And I've loved it ever since

iPhone user 👋. I use iPhone so I got this app to use my active 2. The app is a bit confusing and I wish it was laid out a little better. The galaxy store is a bit slow and the search bar acts weird for me. Overall I have few issues with the app and it’s pretty good. I do have to say though… I don’t know if it’s because I have an iPhone but I’m able to receive texts but I can’t send them. But I’m pretty sure features are limited because I don’t have a Samsung phone. Again, I have minimal problems and I think this app is decent enough.

Worked fine for months, now won’t connect to IPhone XR. I bought this watch (Samsung S3) about nine months ago and paired it up just fine with an iPhone 6+. I upgraded my phone a few months ago to the XR and it continued to work fine. A few days ago, I stopped getting notifications. I checked on my phones’ Bluetooth settings and saw the second “Galaxy Watch” wasn’t listed (it should show two). I have factory reset the phone several times, deleted and reinstalled the wearable app multiple times, and have set my phone to “forget” this watch dozens of times. No dice. I still can’t get the second Samsung Galaxy watch info to show up in the Bluetooth settings, which means I don’t get any notifications on my watch from my phone. The app is crap. Since it won’t link up to my watch, the app can’t do anything. Utter garbage.

Won’t connect. Galaxy watch, galaxy watch app for iOS. Tried about 30 times now to connect my watch with my iPhone 11 and while it connected for Around an hour the other day it won’t anymore. I’ve googled the problem and found TONS of people are having a similar problem with this watch. My phone says it’s connect to my watch in the settings but without fail, over and over that means nothing as weather or not my watch is connected to my phone via Bluetooth the watch never connects to the app. I should’ve bought an Apple Watch. I still might. Can’t believe I paid this much for a watch that can’t even tell me the time because it requires a connection to a phone

No option for messages with iPhone. I researched this watch and according to Samsung website it is compatible with a iPhone. Claims you can send and receive messages. When I got the watch and set everything up with the app I have all the features EXCEPT the ability to send and receive text messages. I am highly disappointed. The message icon is not even on my phone or available in the wearables app for me to even install. I have deleted the app, reset the watch, chatted with Samsung and looked online to try to Correct the issue but have not found a solution. I would really like to get this fixed. Thanks

App can not find my watch. I have attempted resetting and reinstalling this app multiples times with no avail. The watch seems invisible to the app despite showing up as an available device in the Bluetooth settings. I love this watch so I’m very disappointed I’m missing out on all of its capabilities Edit in response to developer: I have an iPhone XR and Galaxy watch model #:SM-R800, I have watched the video and follow the steps exactly, however never receive a notification to connect to the watch, it take me to a page that says “can’t find my device?” With a list of options to troubleshoot but none of them have resolved my issue. Furthermore, I am not connecting the device to Bluetooth prior to attempting to connect to the watch via the app.

Pairing with iPhone. Got a galaxy watch because I love the galaxy look but im an iPhone user I also have the galaxy buds was hoping I would be able to get text an email notifications but it’s a disappointment I can’t. Even when I worked I worked for Samsung I was trained that as long as iMessage is disabled notifications should appear. But neither the message app or phone app shows up on my galaxy active menu. I feel bad because of all the customers I must have misinformed. So disappointed. I have tried all the tricks that have been mentioned in some of the reviews and none work every thing is on an selected as it should be an still no notifications I have an iPhone 12. Please reply!

Mediocre app for a great watch. Samsung makes great products, but their apps do not match it. This app is average to mediocre. It works with the Samsung health app which doesn’t sync all the steps unless you keep syncing again and again. If you change your phone, you need to reset your watch and lose all your hard earned steps and other data. I’ve used this app for over two years. After I got my new phone, I had to reset my phone and pair with the app again. This time it wouldn’t load watch faces, that I had to use the watch UI to browse and load watch faces. The list of issues just goes on....

Seamless and easy. If you want to use a Samsung watch with your iPhone, this is your app. The two devices work well together. I’m sure the iPhone is more streamlined with the Apple Watch, but I really prefer the aesthetics of the round Samsung watch. It looks more “old school” in a good way. You can load apps and faces from the phone, as well as organize the app order. It also monitors your battery life. You can set your wake up options (with a toddler, touch to wake and bezel wake are off, and my battery thanks me).

Will NOT pair with iPhone XR. Watch shows up as paired in my Bluetooth settings but refuses to connect with the app. Tried resetting the watch, restarting the device, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, turning off data and wifi, and still the watch won’t pair. I’m updated to the latest version of the app and the latest iOS. The app recognizes the watch but still refuses to pair and stays on the “start this journey” splash page. I’ve been really looking forward to using this watch but obviously can’t because of this issue. Would appreciate a fix for this soon! I have no other way to report this but here, as the app itself has no “three dots” or other ways to contact and Samsung’s website doesn’t offer much help.

Galaxy watch app. For an app to bridge iPhone and Samsung this app does really well. I went to the note 8 for several months but my love for iPhone was too great. I am using my new galaxy watch with my new Smax and its awesome. I get my texts from my wife. I can’t respond to them but that’s ok. I benefit from a watch that lasts more than 18 hours, I have sleep tracking a lot more choices for workout tracking. I still can change watch faces. Developers please talk nice w apple to allow this app to work seamlessly with galaxy watch. To have full functionality would be must good. Most good? Idk, I’m sleepy. Lol

No quick message app. I just got this watch, when I paired to my iPhone 6 it connects just fine, the only problem is that it does not have the Quick Message App option neither in the watch or in the phone. I have reseted the watch and delete and reinstall the app but it does not do anything. I understand that not everything is compatible with the two different operating systems, BUT message app and call app are just “basics” for a smart device. Is there anything that can be done about this or is there anyone that can help with this, to find a solution. Thanks

No connection. Hi, I received my Samsung galaxy gear S2 watch last year and I had gotten a new phone and I needed to connect it to my new phone but now it will not connect at all. I tried reconnecting it to my old phone and it says device not found, and then I tried to connect it to my new phone and still device not found. I’m having a very hard time trying to connect it to my phone. but besides that it is an amazing watch. I love it it tracks my steps tracks my heart rate I just love the watch but I cannot seem to get it connected to my phone. I’ve tried resetting it I’ve tried resetting my phone and nothing works.

Has Errors. I have a Gear S2 and the app does connect to my watch but now weather does not sync. I have tried restarting both devices but nothing happens. My location is on for the app and have the settings to update every hour but my watch says I have to turn on location on my phone even though it is on. Can I do quick message with my Gear S2? I have seen a quick message option in the app’s photo previews but I do not see that option in my app, is it only for the galaxy watch? I would really appreciate it if these mistakes get fixed and get more features as I really like my watch.

Galaxy watch sport. It was working like a charm even tho I own an iPhone all I need was my notifications to work and able to talk when receiving a call thru the watch with that been said everything stopped working to the point obviously that I can’t even connect it via Bluetooth, in fact it connects for barley 10 seconds and then disconnects itself . Not sure if it’s because of the recent updates the iPhone iOS recently received or something else. I tried factory reset , disconnect reconnection you name it. Nothing seems to work . Kind of disappointed it .

Watch interface recommendations for exercise. I have a Galaxy 2 watch. I could not find a way to submit user interface type feedback on the Samsung website, so I’m doing it here. For the exercise detection, the watch seems to use set algorithms to determine the number of calories and steps rather than heart rate or intensity. I Would like to see more detection based determination of work. A few additional suggestions are: *add CrossFit as a workout *add stationary cycling *Add step aerobics or cross training *if autodetecting a workout, allow me to stop the workout as soon as I’ve finished rather than letting it run until it autodetects I’ve stopped several minutes after I actually stopped. The ability to adjust settings on the watch is a little cryptic and difficult. I would like to be able to use the app more for the purpose of adjusting more specific settings on the watch (I.e. for each type of exercise, for sleep, for auto detection, etc). Right now, the app can only be used for extremely high level settings and isn’t extremely useful.

Terrible For IPhone 8+. I connected my Gear S2 to my iPhone 8+ for about 5 minutes. Everything seemed to be working fine with all functions operating. I then sat my S2 watch on its charger and I came back about hour later and it would not reconnect. I tried everything from reinstalling software on iPhone, updating watch software, turning off/on phone and watch Bluetooth, soft reset on watch, turning off/on phone and watch, rebooted watch, etc... It would occasionally show that it connected to the phone in Bluetooth, but then it would not work on the Samsung app. NOTHING WORKED! Nice try but a worthless app for the iPhone 8+. Apparently, you CANNOT COMPARE APPLES TO ORANGES or should I say ...APPLES TO SAMSUNGS?! They’re just TOO different!

IOS sync is horrible. The watch is aesthetically pleasing and functional as a timepiece and a step tracker and HR monitor. However it constantly disconnects with my iPhone and is then difficult to reconnect and stay connected, sometimes not reconnecting at all without a reboot. It never connects back on its own if it disconnects. Now when it’s connected and I get a call, the call-screen locks on the face of the watch and I can only get it off when I reboot the watch. Also makes it impossible to use exercise apps, or any apps really. This is a major flaw with the product. I get that it’s not an IOS device but it’s advertised to work with iPhone and it really doesn’t. Unfortunate because if it worked, it would be a great option instead of an Apple Watch.

Works Great With iPhone!. I was actually gifted this watch, and I was worried that I wouldn’t really like it with my iPhone. All the reviews online talked about how not all of the functionality is the same as getting an Apple Watch, but honestly it’s so minimal, especially if you’re looking at getting a watch for fitness/daily use. I get all my notifications to my watch, I can change the music from my watch, it’s a nice alternative to not checking your phone all the time. The partner app is so straightforward, really easy to navigate your watch through the app. It is kind of easy to get lost when searching for watch faces, and there isn’t an easy way to find them. You just have to scroll for ages, but eventually you’ll find something good. I miss being able to use Apple Pay with my watch, but most of the time I go out, I have my iPhone with me anyway. Definitely recommend this watch to those that aren’t fussy about brand consistency (:

Great watch...But. Love the Watch overall. Here are a few things that keep it from being a 5 star review. I had to have it rest back to factory default after 3 days of using it. It was buggy and had just received an update when it it started to have problems. Tech support had me take it back to factory default and start over. One of the reasons I wanted it was due to its claim that it supported the SmartThings app. To date, I still don’t have it installed, even after dealing with tech support. Lastly, the Wake up Gesture function is less than reliable. Hopefully it will get better.

Basic. The reason for three stars is because it’s just okay for me. I had a Samsung Galaxy S8 and the gear S2. I switched to iOS and still had my watch I’ve been wearing for the last three years. I like my watch but ever since the switch I’ve lost a lot of the capabilities of the watch. It syncs with the Samsung health app most of the time but frequently disconnects and reconnects. I found that the GearS app needs to be running in the background which solved some of the disconnection issues. Other than that, the watch tells time and lets me know if I have a message or phone call. Basic functions only.

Annoyed. I’ve had the Samsung Gear S2 for a while now and had zero issues with my Samsung phone. As soon as I upgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro Max, I was having connection issues. So I tried forgetting the device and connecting again.... guess what? I couldn’t even connect anymore! The device shows as Gear s2 LE on the app, but only as Gear s2 on my watch screen AND the Bluetooth pairing list on my phone. I’ve tried everything they’ve recommended to others with the same issues... forgetting the device, restarting both phone and watch, turning Bluetooth on and off again... NOTHING WORKS. It’s frustrating because I loved this watch. I would hate having to go through the struggle of finding a new one.

What happened to sleep tracking????. I have had a gear S2 for about 6 months. It would automatically track my sleep. Yesterday my watch did a reboot all on its own. The galaxy app was apparently automatically updated as well and now I no longer have automatic sleep tracking. All my past sleep, step and workout data is gone. I can manually add the sleep data as: when did you go to bed and when did you wake up and how many stars was it worth? No warning email or any notification from Samsung that they were taking away functionality. First product I have ever owned that had had a function downgrade. Do we get a rebate for the lost functionality? Nice customer support- NOT.

Galaxy watch. Absolutely love this watch.. not a fan of the square Apple watches at all.. guess you could call me old fashioned.. everything about this watch is amazing.. except the missing message responses or anything to do with messaging reply..and the lack of email notifications ..these are the only down fall I can complain about.. I’ve read previous developer responses-dating back almost a year ago about these same issues.. please help guys we all know you can do it👍 and we have faith.. so take care of us and we’ll take care of you.. much appreciated guys ..

No Paid Apps - very limiting. The App itself is fine but in iOS you can only download free apps from the store to your Gear watch. This is severely limiting because there aren’t that many free apps that do anything really useful. The only weather app is from Samsung and it has bugs - often has outdated information or doesn’t update. I’m sure there are better weather apps available for a fee but I can’t even see them on iOS. Come on Samsung, a company of your size should be able to overcome this limitation and let Gear owners on iOS purchase from the App Store. There are 90 million iPhone owners that can’t make using a Gear watch worthwhile.

Needs a lot work for the Galaxy Store. First off the search function is downright horrible. For instance, type in “steampunk” and a bunch of watch faces will come back that don’t have it in the name or description. The actual watch with the name won’t appear. It’s there, but won’t return in the search. Second, no pay apps/faces appear in the store. So, if want that cool $0.99 watch face you saw online you’re out of luck. And the last thing, the backup function is next to useless. If you need to reset your watch you will need to download ALL the faces and apps again by hand. It doesn’t actually have a way to put everything back for you.

What I do like and what I don’t like. The watch is awsome my dad gave it to me as a present. It is about 2-3 years old it doesn’t have many battery even after a charge it for 24 hours. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong like using the wrong charger or if it doesn’t charge that fast, after all it is pretty old. And I really like it I take it anywhere I go. I just think it needs a few adjustments like more battery life and better internet but if that is fixed I’ll be glad. Thanks!
