The serious Side of a student. I know what you’re thinking as a student I’m probably going to hate this. Which I do very much. I was texting my mom about something very serious that happened for a medical situation and my teacher wrote me up even though I explained that this issue could possibly send me to the ER it was not excused because it only showed that I was on Messages so then I had to go to the Dean’s and I got point I very much hate this app

Needs just a little more.. As a teacher this app is awesome. From a students perspective, who cares. If you are doing your work in class no big deal. What the app needs: 1) Lock students into multiple apps. ex: classroom and calculator. 2) Be able to put a temporary sticky note on a students ipad screen. Simple message like . get to work, look at the last question, the first paragraph doesn't make sense.

Difficulties In This Classroom. If you read other reviews/ratings, it all turns to the same problem: the teacher being able to see what app your on. - Lets say there’s a student attending a class, then while the teacher is talking (lets call her Mrs. Frizzle), Ben is playing a Calmness app, Mrs. Frizzle sees Ben and questions “Ben, why are you playing games during class? Hmm.” { background story; Ben has anxiety and is afraid to talk ~ and it’s his least favorite class, Guidance } Ben will have more fear, now he has to talk. I’ll let you complete the story. Things to do to help any issues of app - Contact your/ your childs local principal or teacher - talk about this issue to other parents - check any setting(s) hope this helped!

great tool for teacher. It’s a great tool for teachers. But there’s one feature the develop team really need to add!!! As a teacher, it’s far from enough to lock students in iBooks, but teachers also want to be able to focus students on the book we’re teaching. since we have different type of classes, I really don’t want students to browse among other irrelative books, but now they can! Even when I lock them in iBooks. Please!! Looking forward to this improvement soon!

iPhones please!!. I LOVE the ease of this app for our classroom iPads, such a wonderful timesaver! Our district also implements BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology), which means many students are using iPhones, please please make this available for iPhones too!!

Good app but needs more features. I love this app it works really good but I wish that there were more features in this app. Like you were able to turn up and down the volume on the students iPad. So you can here what is playing on there iPad.

I don’t like the app, I HATE THE APP!!. First of all, all of my kids have don’t iPhones or iPads or even MacBooks, so it’s very frustrating when some of them have other device companies. I even used it over zoom, BUT GUESS WHAT? Some of them DIDN'T HAVE ANY THING FROM APPLE!!! Even some of Their family members had any thing ANYTHING from apple! Personally, I love everything apple, but this is the worst app so far. Definitely do not recommend. So disappointing.

Can you make it. Where my mom’s phone can use it it’s an phone Xs I think

Good app, but needs just a few improvements.. I am a third grade teacher, and love to use this app. It makes my life so much easier when trying to navigate students to an app or website. When I use it and lock the app, so students can’t close it and get on something else it works beautifully. If I try and lock it on a website, students can click out of it. Students can click icons at the bottom of the webpages and manipulate their way out of the website to others. Needs to stop them if the address doesn’t contain the prefix to that website they were locked on. The other thing that would be helpful is an icon students can click on to send the teacher a message and vice versa, but not each other.

Messing up the Apps. I am a high school student and my teacher uses this app. It is very useful but has many problems. Every time my teacher uses apple classroom and after he locks us in more than one app and unlocks us all of our apps get mashed up! All of the apps move places and it really throws us off and it is very hard to fix! Please fix A.S.A.P. My teacher it planning on stopping using this app unless you fix Thanks

One major deal-breaker. Teachers in my district have responded well to using this app. It has helped them understand that their students are usually on task and it puts their mind's at ease. One issue however is that a student can be locked in an app and hold the power button and home screen button to restart their iPad, which breaks the lock. If students are taking an assessment, teachers need to constantly monitor their students in order to ensure they are not cheating.

This app is not meant for people that have 23 chromosomes. This app is literally fascism, in which this app allows teachers to leave students without any privacy or control over their tools that they use during school and as a student I want to clarify that this app is a violation of rights because this app stays on your iOS device even after school, so the school is able to spy on its students even after school hours and even in comfort of their homes without the students even knowing.

Extremely unreliable. This is not yet ready for prime time. Getting students’ iPads connected is a daily ten-minute waste of time. Please get a team on this to seriously develop it if you’re serious about passing this off as a classroom solution. Right now, it’s an impediment to teaching.

Add A Few Features... But Still 5 Stars. Can you add the log out feature and the feature to change student’s iPad passwords without MDM.

Needs work. I was using the apple classroom for testing purposes on my other iPad, after I was done I removed the other account from classroom but was still there and it’s just there even after I deleted the class and app. I hope Apple fixes this.

This app is terrible. For once, this app may help students stay on task and move on with the lesson, but most of the time it doesn’t even work! Not to mention when teachers force kids to join this app it is a complete invasion of privacy. They can track your ever move and is completely over the top. This app should be removed from the app store it is awful!

Need help. 1) Some of my student cannot join the class. They will join using the passcode and then the class disappears. 2) My student’s have figured out that blue means I am watching so they quickly exit out of their games.

I LOVE THIS. OMG I used this app to control my brother and sister’s iPads it was so funny looking at their confused faces when I used the “open” feature and the lock feature it was like gold on the other side of the rainbow I love it and the best part is it’s absolutely FREE I am so impressed with this app and will continue using it. This is and automatic 10/10 in my book. Love ya apple 😘😘❤️❤️

My biology teacher was threating to make us use this. Now this app is probably great for elementary school kids but High school kids dont really need it but some of the boys in my class are. Crazy and get on games in class and it really frustrates my bio teacher because my friend who is not to be named (Carson) LOL i named him but that is not the point anyway this kid in my class is always on games in class and it makes the whole class mad because my teacher is always dealing with him in the class so yea thanks Also no need to respond

Document Management needed. Document management is needed. In classes that I teach there can be 25 students that will Airdrop documents to me via the open Apple Classroom session. These documents can only be opened to Share sheet or deleted. There is no bulk copy files to folder options that appear in other Apple apps like Files. The Airdropped files only exist in the classroom session until it is closed. Fortunately there’s a prompt about losing documents that have been unopened. Apple Classroom can be a little glitchy with monitoring iPads. Sometimes things work and sometimes not all iPads will respond to navigation requests. Apple could seek a bit more refinement for this app.

Ruins folders. Whenever my history teacher navigates us and locks us into more than one app, the app ruins all of my folders and takes all of the apps out of them, except for the two apps that he locked us into. Sad! I am not happy my experience with apple classroom and I am very angry. This is very inconvenient to us as students and ruins our school day. Very bad! Frustrating!

Great, when it works. No, I as a teacher cannot STALK my students. I can only see what they have on their screens. If they aren't doing things they shouldn't be doing they have no need to worry about it. Unfortunately the app doesn't always work. It worked well for all my classes for the first week of classes, now suddenly everyone is "offline." I've checked several students' iPads and they have Bluetooth enabled and they are on the school wi-fi. I'm not sure what the problem is and why it occurred suddenly. At this point the app is useless.

I love this app!. As a teacher, I enjoy this app so much. The classes are great! My school has so many different classes, that my wonders are endless.

Parent communication. Similar to apps like ClassDojo, it would be great to be able to communicate directly with parents. Haven’t been using for long but seems like a great app. Sincerely 4th grade teacher

Love it. One request..... Would love to be able to let students with iPhones join the class. I’m sure there are security reasons for this, but we have BYO tech...so, some students only have iPhones. Thanks.

Messes up apps. This app is a great tool for teachers, however every time we are locked in class, after we are unlocked, our apps are scrambled and out of their folders. We thought this was a one time thing and after all the apps were put back, it happened again! It is very frustrating and we are telling our teacher to not use this app in the future. It is very upsetting and I do not enjoy being locked into apps, only to have them be messed up. It wasted so much time!!!! We are very upset with this!!!!!!

Great! Just needs one thing. I teach English to Chinese students over the internet. I am currently on the look for new software to help improve the classes. I stumbled upon this app and I really like it. I've played with it some and it works really well. The remote lock and navigation features are just what I need for my distracted students. There is just one thing missing: This app can only be used over a local network. I need to use it with an iPad on the other side of the world. If this one feature could be added, it would make make my job as a teacher so much easier!

My students can’t join. It’s a good app but my students don’t know how to join. There going to class room in settings but they can’t join they don’t know were to go in settings or system.

Great, when it works.. Used to be incredibly useful....but suddenly some students says it’s offline when they aren’t and just shows a grey screen. They are on the school WiFi and with Bluetooth on.....not as useful when you can’t see all the students screens. Would rate a 5 star when it works.

This app is one of the reasons our productivity in class is not good. This app has many bugs and needs some work, first it need to fix the fact that it scrambles your apps while using the app. It also reduces the productivity and doesn’t help with the basic purpose of the app. All the kids in the class complain because their apps scatter the apps on our screen. Please fix this soon!!!

you can't be stalked :P. The classroom App only works in the classroom with bluetooth enabled. Its a great App for keeping students on track with what they should be doing in the classroom, Locking an app to screen to prevent them from fiddling around. you can not stalk anyone with this app and its not illegal in anyway like the kids have posted. Its used with school managed ipads or unmanaged by an MDM.

It should be possible for it always to ask before apple classroom turns on. Sometimes, a teacher uses the same apple classroom for multiple classes, and the device is still in range when that happens too They can still see what you are doing

So many issues!. As a teacher in middle school, I truly appreciate this app. It helps to make sure kids are on task and not just looking busy while playing a game. However, each time our roster changes at the end of a nine weeks it takes several weeks for the app to update to our new class rosters. This nine weeks we are six weeks into it and I still do not get to see my students online classes. They all show up as off-line even though we checked all the settings necessary. It has become a frustration. Whatever reason, each time I login I have to accept notifications again. Then when I “end a class” it takes me to a summary of the apps used rather than to my roster page. It is a love-hate relationship with this app currently. I would love to love it all over again soon!

Omg. Apple Classroom is a fantastic tool for teachers and students! It makes managing classroom devices a breeze, allowing teachers to guide learning and keep students focused. With features like screen monitoring, app launching, and the ability to lock iPads on a particular task, it’s perfect for keeping everyone on track. Plus, it’s intuitive and easy to use, so setup doesn’t take much time. Classroom also promotes a collaborative learning environment, and being able to share work in real-time is a game-changer. Overall, Apple Classroom has been incredibly effective for seamless class management—definitely a 5-star experience!

Great but needs a few more features. I think that this app is AMAZING and all teachers that use iPads should be using this app!! However, I would really like to see the following features in a future update: 1) the ability to navigate to a specific website then lock safari open. 2) The ability to close apps. You currently can lock the screen, but after you unlock the app is still open. I want the ability to force close an app and return to the home screen.

Great app but…. This app is a great idea and works well sometimes. I was testing it on a personal iPad and it was so glitchy, at first it worked great but the next day I would get on it but on the app it said offline when I was really doing something. Just needs improvement

Privacy Invasion!. The app is used in a way that it lets teachers see everything you do, not only is it a complete privacy invasion, but it’s just as degrading. It's insulting to students who are punished with this because of peers who couldn’t focus, even when they themselves did. Overall complete lack of respect towards the students who it is usually forced upon (I was forced to get it Junior Year of High school because the school seemed to think we were not truly "adult" enough)

Awful Horrendous Fury Inducing App. I work for a technological advancement company, and we basically help smaller companies set up their “tech stuff”. I originally used this app to keep track and help employees keep from getting distracted and logging into, ahem, questionable websites. However, not only did this app not work properly, but it actually helped them do their dirty deeds. it looked them into PH permanently and allowed them to sock all day long. We lost billions upon billions of dollars in a single day, all because desperate office employees were presented a once in a life time opportunity by this filthy disgusting evil application. Whatever you do, don’t download this. In fact, I encourage all of you to rate this 1 star along with me. Go play stumble guys instead💪🏼.

lagging. I love this app and use it to watch what my sister is doing when I babysit her and just for fun. It just lags a lot which is really annoying, but other than that it is a great app.

Messes Up Home Screen. Every time my teacher locks me into more than one app in a session, Apple Classrooms scrambles up the place of all of my other apps and takes them out of my folders. This is making my class and I frustrated and we are beginning to ask our teacher not to use it. If this issue continues, our class may not use this app anymore. I hope this can be fixed.

Great classroom tool. I’ve been using Classroom for two years now, and I love it. It’s great being able to keep tabs on what students are doing and easily distribute an impromptu assignment or file. I’m happy to see the addition of Dark Mode. Is there any chance of getting support for Shortcuts? I would love to see a shortcut to launch Classroom, activate a particular class, and maybe even put in split screen!

iOS 14 Update-Private Address Issue. Hello, District employee here, it looks like with the update of iOS 14 the private address feature has come through on the student iPads. Makes using AppleClassroom very difficult, we think. Can we fix this? We are not sure if that’s the issue or if it’s something else.

Best App to Demo iPads in Education!. Love Apple Classroom! I work for a K12 Technology consultant firm. I use Classroom to demo the power, flexibility, and ease of iPads for K12 teachers. They are always amazed. With the new update one no longer needs the MDM backend to set up classes. Teachers can do it themselves now, and it is easy. Teachers, I encourage you to test out Classroom on you iPads soonest! It will change how you teach with iPads for the better!

Absolutely disgusting. As a student I find this app laughable and useless. Students aren’t toddlers needing to be monitored. It gives teachers the ability to abuse power and pry too deep into their students. The problem isn’t what they’re on, if the teacher is incapable to retaining the students attention. If technology is this disruptive go back to hardcover textbooks.

Smart idea, bad execution.. This app creates problems if you use more than one app while classrooms is being used, and it takes all of your apps out of your folders. This app has some pros but the cons outweigh them, as my teacher likes this app but probably won’t be using it because of its problems.

Eh dis bad dis game trash. This app has interesting features, but just one huge problem. Whenever a person is locked into 2 apps or more at once or is locked 2 times during each class time, the folder get scrambled. The apps put themselves in alphabetical order and take themselves out of folders. It ruins the organization actor of the iPad. Much angry wit dis appo.

Complaint. When my teacher locks us in more than one app all of our apps get pulled out of our folders and it is very frustrating to reorganize all o four apps, also when all of our apps get pulled out the apps that we were locked in go into a folder by themselves because of the this our teacher is discouraged to continue using the app in class

Works well. I wish it worked for iPads not directly in the room as when some students get in trouble and are sent to the office, they no longer show up. Otherwise works great to keep them on task and on the apps we ask them to be on. I have not tried it with websites as we have specific apps we are required to use in our district.

Great app!. I love this app! I just wish there was a feature where you could lock certain apps.

I do not like to add at all. The reason why is because there is so many issues like I am a teacher and I can’t use this app because it has so much problems with it and I can’t just waste my time dealing with this app instead of teaching so don’t get this app

Amazing with room for growth. This app is huge for schools with iPads and has already transformed their use in my classes. I'd like to ask 3 things however: 1. Not optional - students can opt out of having their iPads locked or viewed, this seems counter-intuitive in most cases (with some exceptions I imagine). 2. Open: App selection - my iPad has many apps students won't have; instead of a 'recent apps' list could a custom apps list be added so only those show up in the scroll. 3. Navigate: iBook PDF support - I want to use the iBooks app to help students keep different documents but the classroom app only recognises books purchased on the store. Would be great to be able to use PDFs and navigate to bookmarks.

THE WORST APP IN EXISTENCE!!!!. At home, parents have control over what their child does which is important and understandable but the necessity for the teachers!? This is ludicrous!!! We cannot do anything without being watched like a hawk trying to do our work. The control freaks think they have the power just because their teachers? Well guess what ITS my iPad I GET TO USE IT THE WAY I WANT THE TEACHERS DIDNT PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THIS TO GET CONTROL OVER IT. HELL NO. Invasion of Student Privacy. I understand that teachers are responsible for watching over students, but with this app, it’s getting out of hand. This app allows abusive teachers to spy and lock your apps or iPad entirely, which is absolute nonsense. I’m not hating on classroom though, I’m just saying that students have their right of privacy, imagine this, you as a human being are on the toilet enjoying your time, and there’s a 4K camera watching you, be honest, how’d you feel about it? If that was me, I’d not tolerate that type of creep. So yeah, my message to the developers of Apple Classroom is very simple: Either remove the app entirely or remove the app’s spy feature. I don’t really like this app. This app isn’t very good, the teachers can now control my iPad, for example if your emailing your friend to give her the questions because hers won’t load, the teacher gets a notification that I’m emailing then locks my iPad, this app is stupid, also when I get home the school can access my iPad even when it’s my iPad and I can do what I want on it.

Utterly ridiculous and should be reported to the apple App Store. This app is an invasion of privacy on the way teachers use it it’s not okay. Teachers can go though what personal pictures games messages calls FaceTimes and more that has nothing to do with them all it should be used for is to monitor there work not to go thought like our teacher did and see what apps they had downloaded on there personal device.

Should Be Illegal. As a parent I installed this app for my child for school but quickly realised how horrible it is. Has access to all your passwords, all your accounts, and all your app and browser history. They can lock you ipad at anytime anywhere, they also lock the ipad after school as when my child comes home he cannot use the ipad. This ipad was not originally bought for school and is used for many other things. So overall it takes ur info, steals your freedom, and causes many other problem that cant be counted on your fingers. Don’t install as you will regret it.

LoL The best app on the app store. I got this app after someone recommended it to me. I can now, not only see what other people are doing, but i can lock them out of there iPads. If you like apple, you should download this app. 5 stars for me. This app was so much fun that it should be put in the game page!

GET THIS APP OFF. This app is an EXTREME invasion of privacy teachers do NOT use this app as a way of ‘encouraging students to learn’ they use it to blackmail, humiliate and look through students private things. I understand this app is created to ensure students are focused on their work, however how teachers are using this is NOT OK. I have heard numerous stories of how teachers use this app, by air playing students screens to the entire class, and shaming them for accidentally entering a game for a few seconds. One story I even heard was a teacher locking her student into messages for asking a friend for help and then telling them they had to come up to her and apologise in front of the whole class. This is extremely uncalled for and completely manipulative. These are their devices THEIR DEVICES they should not be controlled by a teacher whom uses it to humiliate, embarrass and take advantage of their privacy. If you are a teacher and are truly concerned about the learning of your students how about talking to them privately and actually respecting their privacy instead of spying on their screen and calling them out. Apple please remove this app off the App store it’s unnecessary and is used as a weapon against students.

Attention teachers!. This app is TERRIBLE. In this day and age, we have the freedom of PRIVACY. I am appalled at this app, stripping away the rights of a child. We are dehumanising young CHILDREN, deeming them as objects and nothing more than troublemakers. Is this the mindset you want for your students? I tried this on my class once, as soon as I got it everyone stopped having their friendly conversation and showed common signs of stress! I HAVE A YEAR 2 CLASS.

Invasive of student privacy.. I cannot believe that this app is allowed in schools. It allows teachers to read and screenshot students personal messages, photos and work without their permission and often without their knowledge. There is no option for a student to choose not to consent to this as it is often the rule of the classroom to keep it on all of the time. This would not be tolerated in an adult workplace, why should we do it to our kids? This app is a lazy replacement for actual teaching skills. If you are unable to keep your students focused without invading their privacy and broadcasting their screen to the world that is something you need to work on. It’s a no from me.

Ludicrous. This is too far. This app is simply invading privacy. The fact that a teacher can look at what you do is insane. Even your private messages can be leaked to a teacher. A teacher can literally lock a student in messages and view their screen to see what they have been messaging about. And being able to airplay screens without consent is too far. I am giving this a two because there is some sort of consent from the student such as being able to turn off features for teachers like being able to view screens, lock iPads, navigate apps and open apps. But simply not enough consent such as the Airplay issue and the ‘lock in apps’ feature. This app would not be invading privacy if: 1. Specific apps are blocked from navigation, things like messages, contacts, phone, FaceTime, Discord and all the social media applications. 2. Airplay option needs student consent before usage 3. Lock IPad has a specific time for how long the iPad can be locked for. 4. Consent for every option such as before viewing screen and all of those. I also have a story on a teacher who BROKE another students IPad. The teacher was simply ‘locking’ the iPad when everyone had to look up at the board, and was doing the options too quickly. Then one kids IPad was STUCK. Literally pure frozen. Couldn’t even turn off the iPad, couldn’t navigate. It was all on control of the classroom manager Please apple, make this app less corrupt.

Eh.. I feel like this app invades student’s privacy. I get why teachers use this app, but why would the teacher need to airplay their student’s ipad to the screen without their consent? Can’t the students just do it themselves or whatever? Another thing about this app that bothers me is that the ability to see the student’s screen. I get why teachers should be able to see what their students are doing, but I feel like they should be just fine seeing what app they are in currently.

Good app I totally recommend. The Hog Rider is a Rare card that is unlocked from the Builder's Workshop (Arena 5). He is a quick, building-targeting melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. Utterly ridiculous!. At first I thought this app was just for teachers to be able to view their students screens which I was fine with. But then I downloaded the app myself, made a classroom and added my friends into it to see what it was like. Once I made my classroom I learned that teachers are allowed to LOCK students iPads, AirPlay their screen so the entire class can view what they’re doing, open any app on the child’s device, and on top of that they can lock students into any app they want and view what they are doing. This could also be an invasion of privacy! Because if the teacher wants they could lock the students into a messaging app for example and view the child’s PRIVATE messages and be able to see what the child had been saying to family, friends, etc. And the only way to stop a teacher from doing all of this is if you either, 1. Leave their classroom, 2. Get another person/friend to make a classroom add you in and view your screen because two teachers cannot view the same screen, or 3. Turn off your Bluetooth, which sometimes will stop the connection between the teacher and the student’s devices.

I hate this app with a passion. I am a teacher and I was asked to download this app as it is an required for teachers and with using this app I have seen things that I didn’t want to see. This invades students privacy and is disrespectful towards the students having teachers looking at there screen all day this app is disgusting it is overall a bad app if there was a negative star I would definitely rate it that

Maintaining student engagement. The newest feature that summarises which students, which apps they used and time spent of apps at the end of a class, assisted me a great deal making students responsible for their engagement in class. Students off task during lessons are evident and requested to focus on the activities.

Game Changer. Gives me power and control over my high school students and their digital learning. Allows me to use digital resources confidently and track student participation and engagement. Negs are from disgruntled students who can’t play minecraft in class anymore lollllll

Important: Please read this!!. If you are a teacher considering using this app to 'maintain bad habits', then don’t! This is not an app that 'turns your iPad into a powerful teaching assistant', it is an app that is stupidly controlling and disregards any free will or rights a student has over their device. Key word: their. The devices that students use in class do not belong to the teacher, therefore they should have rights over them. Guilt-shaming a student for accidentally opening a game for 2 seconds is not 'helping students stay focused', it's embarrassing and lowering self-confidence of students because of accidentally bumping a game. And if a student is in a game for more than 10 seconds, don’t broadcast their screen for the whole world to see and embarrass them in front of their friends, talk to them quietly and discuss like a civilised human being that they were on a game and they need to stay focused on their work. If they don’t know what their task is, don’t lose your mind, calmly remind them. Apple, please remove this app from the app store. There is no reason to have an app that makes teachers look like horrible dictators who don’t respect the rights of students, because at the end of the day, teachers are supposed to guide their students and help them be successful in life. So for the last time, remove it. Thank you!

Classroom lock. Dear classroom you have a great app and all which I enjoy but can you please remove the lock feature because when I’m doing work my teacher locks it for me the rest of the day so can you please remove the lock feature

This is an invasion of privacy. The amount of teachers that have air played my private messages with my parents to the whole class to embarrass me so I can ‘learn my lesson’ for not being on the app is seriously a joke. They can’t lock your screen,AirPlay, share screen etc. even if u turn lock off, teachers will know and because they have the authority to ask u to turn it on, it gives them free will to do what ever. Kids on classroom aren’t going to be robot like and do exactly everything right! So even if u click on an app accidentally they wont believe u bc u were still on it. I HATE THIS. u could atleast keep the shown app the student is on, but NOT their screen. What a dumb idea

This is a must for IPad schools. I love that the negative reviews on this app are from students who do not want teachers controlling their device. I teach at an IPad only school at this app is fantastic to help with classroom management. It is also a great way to control use of digital stimulus for exams etc. It would be awesome if this app could be integrated with something like ITunesU so that this could be the central location for classroom control. It is a behaviour management responsibility to make sure students give you permissions to control their devices but this is not a big issue at my school.

Utter trash. So at first i thought that this app is the same like any other app for teachers to teach and upload their stuff onto here but turns out it locks our own iPad. I deleted this last year since it was so stupid and the teachers never use it and completely forgot about it but now teachers can have unlimited access to our app. Thank you so much apple for making this trash app. Even if you are just making it for money think about your kids. Would they be happy if their devices are constantly locked and have no access to it? Everyone should get this to 1 star and make them delete it. Teachers are currently invading my privacy and all my other fellow students so please go and stop this app. Why did apple even create this app anyways? Also to the teacher who said that all of us angry kids within here are mad, you’re wrong. Imagine you just chilling on the internet AT HOME and suddenly your iPad just got locked and you couldn't use it at all. What’s with that? And then you were just researching things but then the teachers think that it was something that isn’t useful and pointless so they just went ‘oh this kid isn’t using their iPad properly let’s LOCK IT AND DON”T LET THEM USE IT’ when in reality that kid that ’wasn’t’ using their iPad properly was just researching for homework;. Will teachers be responsible for the kid’s homework when they can’t hand it in on time? I don’t think so. This app is pointless.

So bad. So yesterday I had school. Great. During reading I wasn’t using my iPad when my teacher said that “I was using my iPad”, then went through my text messages without my permission. DO NOT INSTALL. It will let your teachers: Lock your iPad, see what you are doing on it, see your text messages and other things that you wouldn’t want your teacher to see. Apple your app on so bad with privacy.

Needs improvement. Great idea. Set up my class, several students not able to join though (connectivity issue). Quite often, student screens are not able to be seen at all, they only have to turn their iPad off (or even just close the screen) and on to be ‘offline’. Constantly needing to rejoin many students back into the class for it to work. I have an issue at present where it flicks on and off what app they are on every 5 seconds or so. Started great, very glitchy lately though. Really want this to be great.

Good app for handling unfocused students. For the people in the reviews saying that the teacher shouldn’t be allowed to AirPlay messages or other private things, students shouldn’t be accessing those private things during class time. This app has good features and other things like that

WHY DOES THIS EXIST. Teachers may say this is the KEY iPad app for teachers in a iPad only school. But the fact that they are saying that this is a must is what is bothering me. We all get the idea that iPads can be used in a school and this kinda controls the iPads to stay on task. Bumping onto a game for 2 seconds realizing and getting off it isn’t an offense to the school. This is LUDICROUS. And if it is free time and some kids is on a game that you have never heard of. DONT DO IT. So annoying, i feel like my privacy has been invaded. I was on classrooms and i had to check in with a family emergency then my teacher saw that i was on messages and he made me read out the message to the class. I have gotten non stop bullying that i am putting in a transfer to a new school. I feel unsafe in class as this invasion has made me feel differently about school.

Worst app I have ever seen. This is app gives teachers the ability to control and manipulate students devices to such an degree that it is shameful that some teachers use this. It gives full control of the STUDENTS devices not theirs, and the small amount of limitations the app gives you doesn’t even work! Because teachers have full control of students at school they just say to go to settings and make the classroom settings to always allow, which is morally, a terrible violation of privacy and control and destroys any self confidence that students might have left. With a press of a button teachers can fully control and manipulate students devices, and this includes EVERYTHING it doesn’t censor any app. Apps that should remain private, such as messages and other social media platforms, the teachers can enter at their will. This isn’t even addressing the airplay problem which is just teachers teasing and mocking students for tapping on a game accidentally, and there is no way to redeem it. Most annoying app. Do not install! This app can allow teachers to lock your iPad and give painful experience to students! It ALSO allows teachers to see what are you doing, effectively leaking passwords, card numbers, etc.. Even stressful, many teachers are stern, disrespectful and unfriendly. If you open a game even by accident for a single second, you are locked OUT of your iPad. And teachers only force you to do work, and especially if your friend or something sends a message that you need attention, your teacher usually DOES NOT let you see more and reply, and can LOCK your iPad in a worst situation. Why this was even a app? Luckily, I don't have a teacher or some annoying relative who wanted to annoy me with this app.

A terrible invasion of privacy. This is a terrible app. Teachers think it’s sooo good but it is actually NOT ok. They can lock down your iPad when your at home, and can view your messages and private photos. Furthermore, they can even AIRPLAY your OWN SCREEN so that the whole class can see your private things. Teachers say this is a great tool, but to be honest I’d like to see THEM have a controlling, invading thing on THEIR devices, and then they can say it’s a great tool. Pretty good app. I’m a student, I read the reviews and got confused. I was told that the app only works if you are on the school internet connection. So, I did the smart thing. Do some actual research. Turns out it only works on the local internet connection. (That’s school wifi for you 9 year olds). I don’t know what these reviews are complaining about, but it’s a pretty good app. And for that one review, you didn’t pay hundreds of dollars for you Ipad.

OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. For any teacher or principal thinking about incorporating Apple Classroom into their curriculum, this is the app for you! You get to spy on your students which is excellent fun! A loophole for child privacy! My name is Mrs. Ron’s and I approve of this message.

Unnecessary features. A good manager of the classroom. What I don’t agree with is the amount of control the teacher has on the devices of the students. There is no justifiable reason for the teacher to be able to open an app on your device - they can just tell you in person to switch off. Locking the iPad might be a tad bit too far, though it’s an alright feature. Being able to see what is on the student’s screen from afar is concerning, and possibly may be an intrusion of privacy, but the little indication (the blue air-play symbol in the control centre) of the teacher’s viewing is an upside. I don’t think it’s necessary, though. The app symbol next to the student’s names is all you need to monitor your classroom. Thank you for reading this.

Invasion of privacy. This app is a massive invasion of our privacy as students. It shows us teachers do not trust us and it could cause us trust issues in the future, which could lead to the feeling of neglect. Some loopholes need plugging. Students can quickly bypass their device being locked by restarting their device, which creates a game of whack a mole if they are repeatedly trying to be off task. They can also change their names and pictures to imitate other class members, which makes it harder to call out off task students. Suggestion 1: include the Classroom ‘locked’ status in the start up configuration so that student devices remained locked, or kept to an assigned application, after they restart. Suggestion 2: add the ability for teachers to ‘nickname’ students in their class so that they can always identify them on their monitoring screen. I also had another glitch: when I tried to navigate students to a specific favourited website, they were instead taken to their last open tab in safari (which was a game) when I wanted to hem to focus on GeoGebra. Some students were taken to the right site and others went to their last opened tab, it was inconsistent.

How is this even legal??. So, my school uses this app to ‘manage classrooms’ but it turns out it’s way more than just that, it allows the teachers to access & broadcast a students screen WITHOUT PERMISSION which just sounds like a breach of privacy. This feature isn’t even being properly used by teachers, instead they prefer humiliating students in front of the class. There’s also a feature that can let the teachers lock a student into an app or even out of their device, this is just unnecessary as you can just tell the student to switch to the proper app or just switch it off.

Idée stupide / Dumb idea. Permettre à un adulte de contrôler le iPad d’un enfant est inadmissible car, oui, on peut l’avoir sans être enseignant. Ceci peut rencontrer un cas d’atteinte à la vie privée car il y a une option qui permet de forcer l’enfant à aller sur une application, elle s’ouvre automatiquement en vérité. Il peut y avoir des choses que l’enfant n’a pas forcément envie de montrer, et l’option de bloquage de iPad est également une idée stupide. Surtout lorsqu’il s’agit d’une tablette scolaire, un outil professionnel en quelque sorte. Et ce n’est qu’un échantillon de toutes les autres options qui peuvent commettre un crime pour atteinte à la vie privée. Finalement, si un adulte pense qu’un enfant joue en cachette, il peut se lever, utiliser ses jambes (je sais c’est dur après la pandémie) et observer les mouvements de doigts des enfants, qui permet de dire si un élève a changé de page. En conclusion, je désapprouve fortement cette application. / Allowing an adult to control a child's iPad is unacceptable because, yes, you can have it without being a teacher. This may meet a case of invasion of privacy because there is an option that allows you to force the child to go to an application, it opens automatically in truth. There may be things that the child doesn't necessarily want to show, and the iPad blocking option is also a stupid idea. Especially when it comes to a school tablet, a professional tool in a way. Finally, if an adult thinks that a child is playing in secret, he can get up, use his legs (I know it's hard after the pandemic) and observe the children's finger movements, which makes it possible to tell if a student has changed pages. Is this even legal?. I’m questioning the legality of this, because some of us buy our own IPads, meaning it is our property, granted we bought it for school. We have to use it at school but at home we can do what we want because it’s our property. Plus, the fact you can’t disable all the things a teacher can do is really concerning. Let’s say it’d be weird if you were texting someone and your teacher is just eavesdropping. To me it just feels like spyware, plus the concept is really dumb, I am pretty sure a teacher can notice a student not doing his work. But no, just because some students aren’t role models the whole class needs to have their privacy breached. Yeah sounds great. Some say to disable Bluetooth, but first off we shouldn’t disable something because we can do more (like mentioned before, you can’t disable everything) and second, I am pretty sure there’s lots of people who use Bluetooth headphones. Maybe try to actually let students have more control over what their teacher does, and if a student disables everything, pretty sure the teacher can notice and would talk to the student. Again the whole concept of this is just a lame excuse to have this spyware as an “educational” tool. So I am not a lawyer but pretty sure this can go into spying/stalking territory type.

Confused. I downloaded Apple Classroom recently and it will not show up on my iPad. The AppStore shows that I have it downloaded, but it is nowhere to be seen on my home screen. I have checked every folder on my iPad and it is still not there. I can’t even delete it, considering that I have to find it first.

Update went backwards!. This worked great in our classrooms! Then, you “updated” it and now about 60% of the students show up fine while 40% appear offline. Sometimes, with constant rebooting, I can get up to 75% of the class. FIX. IT. Please.

So many problems!. As a middle school teacher, I think this app was an invasion of privacy. It has way to many problems to be dealt with! Going along with the invasion of privacy, it was extremely glitchy and buggy. I do not recommend.

Why Apple... I don’t see the point in having a MDM profile when you could just connect all classroom iPad’s via Bluetooth. Don’t get this app unless you want to go through the fuss of creating a MDM (Mobile Device Management) profile.

Not helpful. When my teacher uses this app and locks us in more than one app, then it scatters all my apps so that they are not in a folder anymore. It then puts the apps that were locked into its own folder. This is making our teacher not want to use this app.

Some isssues. I have my apps arranged in groups; but when my World History teacher locked us in two apps then unlocked us, our whole class’ apps mixed up. We were very confused and realized it was Apple Classroom. We are very frustrated and wish it would be fixed.

Dehumanizing app. This app will allow the teachers to see what’s on your screen whether you what it or not. This is exactly dehumanizing and this is also violations to our human right. You can’t keep any secret underneath that.

App Invades Privacy. This app is completely unreasonable and takes over students iPads as you can lock there iPads and change their passwords. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS

it’s terrible and glitches. it glitches all the time and says i am on apps that i have never used and then it gets me in trouble in class. i get teachers need it because they have trust issues between their students but looking on our locked things and private information is not okay.

This app is very bad. This app would empty my folders when we would be locked in 2 or more apps and this app is just very bad and has a lot of bugs.

This is a Bad app don’t use!!!. In my class we use apple classroom, every time we use it though if my teacher locks us on more than one app my iPad goes haywire, all of my folders are opened and spread out and the only folder left is the one with the apps we currently used

Poor performance. Had to delete and re download over and over again because it wouldn’t load my class.

So many bugs. My class can’t use this app because it crashes every time

Piece of absolute garbage. Someone I know tricked me into getting it and had full control of my IPad. Had to completely restart my IPad. This shouldn’t exist because it’s easy to fool people into forfeiting their privacy.

Doesn’t function properly. I used it all year last year and it didn’t work AT ALL and because I couldn’t use classroom I failed.

A question.. I want to know whether a teacher can see a tab that is open that you slide in and out by holding on an app like the split screen but the app is full screen, i dont know what it is specifically called. I need to know so i am sneakier. i hate this app.

Bad App (Don’t Use). When my teachers locks me into 2 or more apps, it takes all of my apps that are in folders out of them, and puts the apps that I was locked in into a folder. FIX THIS APPLE YOU GUYS ARE VERY NOT GOOD BUT VERY BAD.

Used to function.... iOS 12 adaptation has made Classroom stutter and work in spurts. Like 2 second spurts. It has basically made the app unusable now. Please help us Apple. You’re our only hope! Also, the Mac version doesn’t let me add my students, rendering it irrelevant.

A hot mess. Students can easily break out of the app/site lockdown and it doesn’t integrate with virtually every other educational website and app like Google Classroom does.

Horrible. The teacher can literally lock you out of your ipad. This is an envision of privacy your teacher can view what apps your on whenever you use it.

Invasion of personal space. It gives the teacher the power to see what your are doing and they could lock you out of your IPad.

Bugs. New bug: Once you select one of your classes you can’t go back to the classes list without completely closing down the app. I’m on an iPad Pro 12.9, iOS 14.8, and the app is updated.

BAD. This app is an invasion of privacy and i think that they should really remove it. You can open apps on different peoples iPads and you can watch what they are doing at every second.

INVASION OF PRIVACY. What is wrong with people trying to stalk students. I as a teacher do not agree with the circumstances with this app. I absolutely hate that our students constantly have to worry because they get reckless in class. This app is a DISGRACE.

Not helpful. When my teacher navigates us and locks us into two or more apps, all the apps that are in folders on my homes screen get scattered around my screen and the apps that we were locked in get put into a folder of there own.

Ok needs improvement. So i love this app there's just one thing i WANT THIS TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH IPHONES AND IPODS i own one iPad and want this to be compatible with iPhones or iPods because then i can see what there doing on their phones
