Google NotebookLM Comments & Reviews 2026
GameChanger. I’m blown away by this app, it’s a GameChanger for me. I’m a teacher in special education and this will save me countless hours of creating resources to teach students with different IEPs, and the output is premium. Also, with great prompts comes quality analysis of documents, uncovering biases and weak arguments, and the podcasts are incredible! I’m in awe and feel so fortunate to be alive at during a huge tech disruption. I can only imagine what’s next? Thanks for building an AI application that truly changes the way I engage with resources, going far beyond summary- this allows synthesis and new ideas.
The AirPod Problem: NotebookLM iOS Streams Audio as a Phone Call. While the NotebookLM mobile app is a great way to listen to your Audio Overviews on the go, there's a frustrating quirk for iOS users with AirPods (and likely other wireless headphones). It appears the app streams the audio using a 'phone call' or 'voice chat' playback method, rather than the standard 'media/music' method. The main issue this causes is a lack of convenient controls: taking one AirPod out does not automatically pause the audio. For users accustomed to seamless media playback controls, having to manually reach for their phone to pause or resume the audio significantly disrupts the flow and convenience of listening. Shifting the playback method to a standard media channel would greatly enhance the user experience on iOS.
A Game-Changer for Fast-Thinking Neurodivergent & Warrior Brains!. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute game-changer for business building and neurodivergent brains! NotebookLM has completely changed my life on so many levels. As someone with ADD/ADHD, traditional ways of learning and consuming knowledge don't always work for me—I need different, more dynamic ways to process information. This tool gives me exactly that. It has been a massive asset in building my business. Every single day, I find a new way to use it and seamlessly integrate it into my life. The seamless connection with Gemini and the rest of the Google ecosystem makes it incredibly powerful and easy to use. I am so grateful for this tool and cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone who needs a smarter, more adaptive way to organize their mind and their work! Too many great features. Great tool just a lot to digest in its use. This is a great way to organize your thoughts- threads it just would help to have more reminders as notebooks are created the older Notebooks could possibly be useful in merge or an other execution which takes each notebook; organizes it into a spreadsheet and allows a system in context points or relative Contextual relevance to be used And that would help wih the user and you as well. It’s a great way to organize my thoughts just an overwhelming Scene when all of my thoughts are seen. Thank you Eric.
Wish I would have found this app sooner. I really love all the features of this app. Being able to input your information source and have AI create flash cards slide decks videos and audio is pretty incredible as a student. However, I have been having issues with the sound in the podcast feature that AI makes. The app will not allow me to decrease the sound. It shows that it’s fully down but it’s not decreasing and audio output contains odd crackling noises that is not happening with I listen to other audio sources.
Great additional study tool!. The best feature of this software is the fact that it won’t pull information from outside the sources and material you give it. So many times do other AI software’s distort or add or even fabricate information at times to help support the answers to the questions they give you, however, NotebookLM can’t make anything up. It will only use the information you give it to help you study. This is a great tool to help summarize long lecture slide decks, and Help, you study with solid practice, quizzes, flashcards, video and audio, summarizations, and one of my favorite tools, summarized slideshow generations.
Excellent Study Tool. Google NotebookLM has been fantastic for taking long lessons and succinctly explaining the concepts and theories contained therein. It’s also very useful at combining multiple texts and file types into a cohesive and comprehensive study guide. I was an early adopter as I’d been waiting for a tool like this for quite a while. It does not disappoint. The output options as podcast or slideshow or video recap presentations are incredibly helpful and useful. This is a true 5 Star App. The fact that it syncs between my laptop, phone and IPad all 3 is also incredibly helpful. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and get it. This is one of Googles most powerful tools. Again, 5 Stars!
Great study tool!! 🙌🏻. I am floored by how real the podcast sounds! The only giveaway was the mispronunciation of a medical word as I am studying for nursing school. It’s a great way to condense information and hear it while you’re driving in the car or walking the dog. It’s a great study tool. I do wish that it wasn’t $20 a month because I will not be paying that. Too expensive. Maybe there will be more connections with colleges and schools in the future. I don’t think mine has it yet. Regardless, I am still very impressed with this app and it’s truly a compliment to how far AI has come!
Could be great!. I’m only writing a one star review because the App is not as a great as the websites Audio overview. The Audio is way too low and there is a night and day difference between the Website and the App in terms of loudness. It’s also inconvenient paying for Google one and still not being able to adjust the length of the podcast and what to focus on (which I believe is a free feature). It does take too long to generate and loud podcasts but that’s the same on both the website and the app. It’s something I hope gets better with time. As with what I stated before, that is withholding me from using the app to it’s full potential, so I just use the website.
Amazing breakthroughs here, but a work in progress!. First, let me just say that having access to such-cutting edge technology is a dream come true. This tool has the capacity to streamline studying in a way that's never been done before, connecting some of the dots between an LLM like Gemini, and a tool that's more explicitly catered to learners. However, not all of the functionality is smoothed out yet. Sources sometimes take multiple tries to be added, and the podcast feature seems to only work when using the interactive variant. I haven't actually tried interacting with the podcast though, as I was worried about it bugging out. When I first got it to play, swiping a notification off-screen caused the application's UI to think the podcast wasn't playing anymore, but it was. Now, in the application's defense, I was using nearly 500 pages of sources, consisting of both web pages and PDFs. The podcast itself was nearly flawless. There were some terms it failed to pronounce properly, but most were industry specific. To be fair yet again, I am studying for the CompTIA CySA+ certification. That's a lot of strange phrases and acronyms to cover. I feel like I've been harsh, so let me say again that this is a wonderful tool! I see what this is going to become and I simply want to contribute. I actually have a few feature suggestions: - A flashcard generator. - A practice problem generator. - A quiz/exam simulator. - A tool to plan out and keep track of a study plan's progress. - And possibly a way for NotebookLLM to plan an entire syllabus worth of lesson plans. Definitely some big asks here! I also realize that an LLM can handle some of these things out of the box, but I thought a special UI or a place to store generated items like flashcards, user-typed notes, or quizzes would be helpful. Please, please, please keep making awesome stuff!
So much potential… just a bit buggy.. NotebookLM is a very clever tool for consolidating sources and learning. I especially like how it turns information into something easy and enjoyable to listen to—it feels like having a personalized podcast made just for you. That said, the mobile experience is frustrating. The iPhone app doesn’t function anywhere near as smoothly as the desktop version. While using it, my phone glitches and, strangely, it even triggers Apple Music to randomly start playing in the background. On top of that, the app doesn’t create separate audio files or podcasts that I can download, and it doesn’t automatically pull in new audio episodes. This means I’m forced to use my laptop if I want to get any real productivity out of it. Overall, I can see the potential here and appreciate the concept, but the app itself feels unfinished. Until the mobile version is stable and more functional, I’ll stick to using NotebookLM on my desktop.
Discrimination. I'm very, very upset since i can't use this great app since my country (Russia) gone mad. I didn't choose that. I didn't choose war. I didn't choose sanctions. But very little is what I was able to choose is to write. I'm a writer & screenwriter. And I am pretty good at it. I used NotebookLM, it helped me to create storytelling without mistakes and make it stronger. But now i can't study, I can't check myself because some guys decided to beef. I mean let me live. Because i feel choked from both sides which is not cool. When i was a child i saw Google almost like Disneyland but for adults because for me it was about freedom and openness. But now? You can't use anything (except google search) because in one day, surprise, you were born in the country that's not welcome anymore. And i get it if it’s about country but i don't get it why it's about me. And all creative people who's trying to survive and making art no matter what. Once again, its upsetting. Google should educate people as always, not lock them in a cage because our government already did. Hope everything will figure out, best regards.
Best thing created, especially for students. If you are a student in college, I would even say a student in high school would benefit tremendously for using this as a studying tool. I can easily upload my notes or my actual textbook and it will break things down make podcast make quizzes, make flashcards. This has single-handedly replaced Quizlet ChatGPT, Gemini. I think all of these people should be scared. They have created these forms of AI.
Best AI Research Tool Ever. For the last two years of using every LLM available, I’ve been writing off Google because they were Google and didn’t really pay attention to the quality of their AI tools. I used to open the eyes tools and tropics perplexity all of them. But of course, Google being a software giant who have developed so many different high-quality products they would dedicate their best to build an AI suite of products then my humble opinion have leap, frogged everyone to the front. The combination of Gemini + NotebookLM + Antigravity in their partnership with Anthropic I completely changed how software is built as well as products. NotebookLM is amazing. Doing research building architectures building agents, creating images, presentations, audio overviews, mind, maps, and how well integrated it is with Gemini and Antigravity, has made me rethink and begin canceling all my other AI subscriptions. NotebookLM is Google’s flagship AI product supported by Gemini Antigravity Google suite, Google workspace, and the power of GCP. Amazing productivity tool.
Simply outstanding , inspirational and motivating!. OK, so I needed a good notebook application. something better than the iOS Notes app or OneNote. Something that I could actually use to get 30+ years of artist writing , friction non-fiction poetry, prose, biographical writing, all of it in one spot so I can organize it and make sense of it all . I’m currently in the process of uploading everything that I’ve ever written as source knowledge in NotebookLM and the results have been without a doubt, the most profound end for rewarding experience I could’ve possibly gotten. Thank you to all who are responsible for making this happen.
One of the best uses of AI. Incredible app. Truly one of the most useful AI’s out there. What makes this special is you get to submit your own sources for reference and the best part- INLINE CITATIONS. Would like to see more use of web reference as an option in addition to personal sources with inline citations aswell. Some sort of toggle or bar to adjust how much outside sources to use could be helpful. Great app! I also like how you can import sources from anywhere at any point. Some more tutorials from google would be nice to to know how to maximize the use of app.
More like 4.5 due to some hiccups on iOS platform. My classmate recommended Google’s NotebookLM, and I’ve been really impressed so far. The app is intuitive and especially helpful when uploading materials from my professors—it even notes what slide or page the content was transcribed from, which is a game-changer for studying. I did notice that the level of detail and functionality feels a bit more robust on the iPad app compared to the web version, which is interesting. However, I ran into one issue: when switching my iPad’s orientation from landscape to portrait, my chat would disappear each time I made the change. That was frustrating. Also, unlike the browser version, the app doesn’t let me navigate back and forth as easily, which can be limiting during study sessions. Overall, though, it’s a fantastic tool that’s helped me solidify my study guides and stay organized for my classes. Highly recommend it to students!
Another Product Ruined. Everything Google touches dies. The app version used to function like the web version and was highly functional and convenient. That’s not good enough for the feature creeps in Mountain View. After a forced upgrade, the new interface is utter rubbish. There is no longer an option to enter a prompt for a deep dive research. You can’t even open a new notebook unless you add a source first. Why? The chat area has no chat box to enter text. Why? This is why I have been migrating away from Google ecosystem entirely. NotebookLM was the exception, until now. Don’t bother with this app, just use the web experience until Google ruins that too.
The app helped me passed all my exams.. I’ve been using this app since January 2026 because I don’t like to read, I learn better when I see or hear things, but to read it I lose interest quickly and find it boring. This app allows me to remember because of how the pod case and other features breaking a the materials across. It is detailed and doesn’t miss. My grades kept improving since I’ve been using this. I have been failing courses before I started using NotebookLM. I love it and I hope to continue using it until I’m finished school with my goal GPA of 4.0 God willing.
Amazing app. This zap is doing great and fantastic. However there are a couple points. I’m gonna make that I think should be nice for this app point number one, if we’re going to use this app, I hope you can add some features where you can customize the podcast voices so they don’t all sound the same if you decide to post them. Point number two I wish you could have the ability to download podcast on your phone so it would be saved into your files other than that this app is great thank you.
Over the Hills in LOVE with NotebookLM 💃🌀🪨💃🌀💎💃🌎. NotebookLM feels like discovering a diamond still sleeping inside the rock. At first glance, it appears ordinary. A quiet stone resting among thousands of others. Its surface is matte, unassuming, almost easy to overlook. But the moment you begin to turn it in your hands, something catches the light. A glimmer. A suggestion that depth lives beneath the dust. Working inside NotebookLM is the act of chiseling with intention. Each source you upload becomes a careful strike of the tool. Each question becomes a measured tap along the fault line. Slowly, patiently, the excess falls away. What once felt dense and impenetrable begins to reveal structure, clarity, and unexpected brilliance. The platform does not hand you the diamond polished. It invites you into the excavation. It rewards curiosity, precision, and the willingness to look again at what you thought you already knew. Patterns emerge from scattered notes. Insights refract from transcripts and research like light through newly cut facets. There is something deeply poetic about watching your own knowledge crystallize. Ideas that lived separately begin to recognize each other. Threads weave themselves into narrative. What was once buried becomes articulate, reflective, alive. NotebookLM is not merely a tool for storage. It is a geological process for thought. Pressure, time, and inquiry transforming raw intellectual sediment into something rare and lucid. You walk in carrying rocks. You leave holding diamonds you uncovered yourself. 💃🌀🪨🌀💃🌀🔥💎💃🌎
Best app to assist in learning as a Student. By far this is the most well done app for learning as AI can be a great tool to assist in making my busy schedule easier getting my degree in medicine. I hope they keep up the great work with this app and add features like interleaving information and spaced repetition timers/reminders. I hope this stays a great “tool” for learning and not a crutch as many of my peers used AI during undergrad but this was just memorizing info rather than understanding it. So for later classes that required understanding biological functions they struggled. As this app has mind maps and more it makes it even easier to grasp functions as well. Truly my favorite study app, please keep up the good work!
Fantastic app—some improvements in UI needed.. I feel weird giving this app only 4 stars. Quality-wise, this might be the best self-teaching tool out there for students, period. However, I have some nitpicks about the Studio section on the mobile app: 1) cannot control media with external controllers (like airpods), so I can’t pause on my AirPods or pause when I remove AirPods. 2) cannot rename generated media or check the custom prompts on the mobile app (can on web). This means I can’t easily sort and reference the podcasts I made for myself, or be sure it is covering the content I think based on the generated title. 3) no ability to export files on mobile app. On web, you can easily export audio and flashcard files. This capability is impossible on mobile app, which is the easiest way for me to get around the lack of AirPods control. 4) background refresh fails more often than web. When I try to run a chat in the background, it will fail unless kept in slide over on iPad or on the screen on iPhone. This is frustrating, since on larger notebooks it can sometimes take 60 seconds plus for a query to run
Great Progress — Almost There!. Notebook LM has come a long way on the iPhone since its initial release. The app is smoother, more responsive, and overall much improved. However, there are still a few rough edges to smooth out. For example, audio doesn’t play correctly through my Bluetooth earbuds—though I have noticed better volume levels when using the iPhone’s built-in speaker. One major difference compared to the web version is the lack of the Discover feature. On the web, you can research a topic and instantly get ten curated sources, or even explore random topics—features that make Notebook LM truly unique and powerful. Unfortunately, none of that is currently available on the iPhone. That said, I’m optimistic. Once Google brings feature parity between the iOS app and the web version, this will be a five-star app. I look forward to future updates!
Still some Bugs, but frankly amazing. They’re still working out some kinks but the potential this has is frankly unbelievable. AI has come such a long way in such a short time. If you’re a student in an intense didactic curriculum, you need to check this out. It can make study guides, turn any textbook chapter into a podcast, or you can ask it specific questions. Really just amazed at the potential of this in every way
It’s simple, “Get good grades”. Ever since I started using this, I haven’t got below a 93% on a test. all I do is upload the slideshows my teacher’s post and the Notes packets that we are given and let the app cook. My favorite part of the app is the podcast making feature. It’s just nice to be able to talk to an AI without a time limit about any questions you have about that topic. AI model on this is very advanced and is able to connect the dots unlike any other AI highly recommend this to any other students if they want to get good grades.
Better for on the go. I really enjoy notebook lm on desktop more than iPhone. I utilize the mind map a lot and I assume because of how much information there can be, you can’t get that on mobile which is fine. It does make it easier to listen to the podcast because I used to have to download it or open it through chrome on my phone. Now I can just go on the app and listen. Not as many tools on the mobile version, but it’s good if you want to listen to the podcast in your commute or on the go. You still have the chat to ask questions and you can upload resources on mobile too. Not bad, but for long study sessions I would probably use my laptop desktop version. On the go or if I need to look at something real quick I’d use the mobile app.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For The Punk & The Scholar Alike. ★★★★★ NotebookLM has become my favorite AI tool and, without question, my most-used tool. It’s difficult to fully describe just how useful it is because it has become integrated into nearly every part of my life. At first glance, it looks like a note-taking and research tool, but for me it’s so much more than that. I use it to organize documents, manage business information, analyze contracts, sort through ideas, prepare arguments, explore complex topics, and make sense of large amounts of information that would otherwise be overwhelming. What truly sets it apart is its ability to act as a neutral, third-party sounding board. I’ve used it to examine disagreements, identify misunderstandings, isolate areas of nuance, challenge assumptions, and explore multiple perspectives without the emotional baggage that often clouds human conversations. It helps me think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and arrive at better conclusions. Whether I’m researching a complicated subject, organizing my business, working through a personal issue, or diving deep into a philosophical or theological question, NotebookLM consistently delivers thoughtful, well-structured insights grounded in my own source material. It’s not just a better way to take notes. It’s a better way to think. For the punk and the scholar alike, this tool is an absolute game-changer. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. NotebookLM isn’t just an app I use, it’s become part of how I learn, work, solve problems, and navigate life. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+
Looking for something else. Why do you companies always change the things that your customers want? I’m confused as to why in the world would you remove the "View Custom Prompt" option from the Audio Overview and Studio menus?!! What was the purpose? What was the reason? I uploaded a bunch of sources to multiple folders in my pro edition, and I usually just click on an old audio and copy and paste the prompt that was already there. I had a really good, and detailed prompt that was my go to, and all I had to do was just change a few words around, based on the topic that I needed. You guys chose to remove this feature and now I don’t have the prompt that I need for other folders and sources i’ve add and created. Please put it back because this is actually stupid to have to rewrite a new prompt for every audio or studio item I create. If you pay for the pro edition, it shouldn’t be this limited. Now I’m going to have to go on Reddit and find what other apps won’t limit me like this.
it’s not working and there’s no way to get help. When it works it’s great but when it doesn’t, you’re on your own and there’s no way to get help. All you can do is submit feedback and what good is that? I’m paying for the pro version and all I’m getting is “Service is currently unavailable. Try again later” I’ve tried on my phone, on my Mac, on my iPad, I’ve deleted chat history, closed the app and reopened and nothing is working. What am I paying for at this point?
Game-Changer for Learning & Content Creation. Google NotebookLM is honestly one of the most powerful tools I’ve used. It takes complex information and breaks it down in a way that actually makes sense. Whether you’re studying, creating content, or just trying to understand something deeper, it feels like having a personal researcher working with you. What really stands out is how it organizes information and helps you connect ideas instead of just giving surface-level answers. It’s fast, intuitive, and makes learning feel effortless. If you’re serious about leveling up your knowledge, productivity, or even your creative projects, this is a must-have. Easily one of the best tools out right now.
Love this app!. This app is really awesome and extremely helpful for studying! I always dread reading long complex things especially since I’m in medicine. Now when I read a new study or article I also make a podcast of it! Helps me learn more and keeps it engaging!! I only wish it was more intuitive when it comes to selecting a podcasts from a notebook that has multiple podcasts. That one I can’t seem to figure out on the app. I wish there was a list/gallery view to then select it. This way I wouldn’t have to make a new notebook for each subject especially as I study for my board exams! Can’t wait until that is a staple among its features!! Let me know when it happens!!
Amazing features; highly recommend.. Google NotebookLM has been an incredibly useful tool for studying and organizing complex material. I’ve been using it to go through railway operating books and manuals, and it’s made a big difference in how I understand and retain the information. Being able to break things down, interact with the material, and keep everything organized in one place is a huge advantage. It’s a very intuitive and powerful tool, especially for anyone working with detailed technical content. Highly recommend.
Amazing!. Is there anything AI can’t do! I struggled to learn large amounts of information when given to me in a very dry clinical manner. I’m blown away at how these podcast are so realistic they are able to process all of the information given so I don’t have to worry about something being left out. The podcast is so relatable. It takes heavy subject matter and brings it down to a very digestible speed. The voices of the podcast host are almost fun to listen to. This is a very enjoyable way of learning.
Great App but who on this team ported it???. I love notebookLM, the web app is phenomenal and the custom silicon makes that all possible. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the web app so I can queue up content for commute. You can’t change the notebook names, you can’t curate the actual podcast for focuses??? The first point here begs the question, who QA’d this thing. The second point, this is such a necessary feature and so utilized in the web app and you cut it???! Was it that hard to have that extra form box for user insertion to curate the podcast. This is such a great product but fire the product manager sitting on top of this thing, my god. Sundar, your company sits on such great IP but the execution….
Studio volume is low and no google doc linking. I generated a studio, but I had to hold it up to my ear like a phone call to hear it, which makes no sense. I tried to download it to my phone to listen to it some other way, but it didn’t go to the Apple Files, so I have no clue where it even downloaded, and it didn’t tell me. Then I tried to link a source from a Google doc, but there was no option to do so even though the desktop version did it no problem. I tried to link it in the “Website” option, but it said it couldn’t do it. I’m so frustrated at all the lost features on this app when the desktop version worked fine, but now I can’t even use it!
Amazing app, but…. This app really is good, but I’m generally just speaking about NotebookLM. The ability to get accurate sourced information from 50 sources all at once is great. However, there are a few things that I specifically thought the app itself would have. Firstly, where are the other generative items?!? I downloaded the app so I could use the quiz and flashcard features on my phone for quick reference. Second - LaTeX rendering. For any mathematic subject, there is LaTeX citations (for example, $/mu = x$), but no native rendering on the chat interface.
Has potential. I like that you can upload way more documents per notebook than say a ChatGPT thread, but there are definitely some things that could improve. Be able to create and save, within the notebook, multiple podcasts so you can focus on different aspects of the material. Save the chat thread so it can be reviewed later vs having to re-ask questions. Have multiple chat threads so each person accessing the notebook can have their own chat thread and view other threads with the option to set your own thread as private. Also, better formatting for when you request to be quizzed, look to Notability and ChatGPT.
Just missing a read out loud feature. I’ve been using notebook LM for about a month and a half now, and honestly, it’s almost perfect, and it keeps getting better. The one thing I hope they add is a built-in reader-out-loud feature. As someone with dyslexia, hearing the text read out loud really helps me understand and stay focused. Adding that option would make the app even more powerful for people like me. That’s the only reason why I can’t give it five stars.
It is Awesome. This app is truly awesome. When I first heard about it, I set the notification when it is first available. Today, I finally got to try it out and I’ve experimented with a few documents to see if the podcast voice overview works. And yes, It works incredibly well. The only issue I’ve encountered so far is that the interactive feature, which is still in its beta phase, doesn’t seem to be working properly. When I click on it, it just appears on the screen and does not do anything. Other than that, I’m impressed with the concept and its potential, especially as a student. I’m hopeful that the developer team will work on fixing this issue. I’m eagerly looking forward to future updates.
Passive study, passive note reading on projects.. Organizing notes and ideas has always been a weak point justifying not pursuing worthy projects, creative or professional. AI in general is a huge help but this Google bot is next level. I gather together all my notes and resources, ask it for some more relevant ones, and generate a 45 min podcast (my easiest way of learning) and internalize what I’m doing. I’m not one to have AI CREATE for me but it’s sure one hell of an assistant, leaving my naturally fickle interests to have staying power. Already well into two books with all the concepts and aims set straight through simple rambling at my robot. Thanks google.
Great…when it works. When this app is actually working, 5 stars absolutely fantastic. But more often than not, it won’t load the audio file. I’ve tried changing the source type, from pdf to text I’ve copied. I’ve tried closing the app and reopening. It will often show that it’s loading, go to the play screen. But show no audio loaded. Most often without an error message. Sometimes it will say couldn’t load content, or something similar. The only thing that fixes it is restarting my phone. Which isn’t something I want to each time I want to listen to my study guide podcast. If yall could fix whatever this issue is, I would give 10 stars if I could.
Would be amazing if it worked consistently. 9 times out of 10 it won’t ever load and play the podcasts that it generates. If the system functioned as it is intended to it would be great and the couple of PDFs that I was able to get it to generate a podcast for turned out well. Much better than reading the 30 pages. But like I said most of the time it spends hours generating the podcast from the PDF and then after it’s done it will never load the podcast for you to listen to. It just spins forever and eventually you get a message that couldn’t load. And I’m on WiFi so it’s not a bandwidth issue.
Web app is awesome for creating a study space, comparatively this app is just clip notes. Work done via the web app specifically in the studio is not visible in the app. This would not be an issue however there are far less options to tailor audio overviews via the IOS app (I.e. summarizing specific sources). Unless I am completely missing a button or menu option you would need to create entirely new workbooks which leads to binning of information in an app designed to facilitate research from multiple sources in one place. Even a quick option to save my web app media to google drive would be better
Learning at 37,000 mph. Learn what you want when you want as much as you want anytime you want where ever you want. Just ask and let it research, then decide how you want to learn: Test, quiz, review, study prep, or as a preparation for a presentation, yes, it will even generate visuals for you, and great visuals to enhance your learning.. Personally, I ask at bed time, it comes back with the research, I select how I want to learn: Podcast, Visuals, Charts, Flash cards, Quiz (Light or In depth) and in the morning everything it’s all ready for me to start my day. In reality, I’m like a kid at Christmas, I can’t wait until morning, my notifications pops up and open up the app look at the chart and graphs, then I start listening to the podcasts while I close my eyes and listen until I fall asleep or most times, I’ll play the next podcast and fall into a deep sleep and wake up inside my podcast and like a VR headset I’m experiencing learning in a whole different world! Can you drink from a fire hydrant? Touch the app and give it a try! I haven’t yet, but I’m close! Enough said. Back to learning!
Among the best AI driven apps. Underrated as hel!. Not talked about nearly enough. Incredible use cases in a number of ways. Not just for students or keeping notes. Desktop version is > the a phone app but the app is catching up on a regular basis. It’s a great way to summarize large amounts of data. Using google’s Gemini models and by working well with google’s suite of ai integrated apps, you can upload files and search the internet, compiling sources within a specific topic. Then you’ll be able to synthesize all the data to o create reports, find trends, create an interactive podcast and more.
Best I’ve seen. This is the best offer that you provided to their customers and users and all the educators and learners from the AI stuffs and make it easy to to work on data and knowledge in different aspects as a technique, tools and enhancer thanks again. I’ll let us know as tried to do not be like other apps and services like not thinking to making it like a subscription types and fees payment to be available in different categories please make it as its now !! Thanks again.
5 ⭐️. NotebookLM has been an outstanding and deeply appreciated resource. I have relied on it as a meaningful component in a court case, and it has consistently provided clarity, perspective, and well-considered insight when those qualities matter most. Its ability to organize complex material and present information with precision has been immensely beneficial. I am sincerely grateful for the support it has provided, and I would recommend it with full confidence to anyone who values intelligence, usefulness, and a truly refined research experience.
An amazing study source for someone with ADHD. I found this app last semester when I was studying for finals, and let me tell you, it is a definite game changer!! You put your own sources in a notebook. I have a system in place to upload my notes to a pdf, and use those. And once those sources are in, you’re able to create a variety of different study materials to help retain information better! In addition, the chat function essentially functions like chatGPT but only pulls info from your sources. My favorite way to study is to make an audio podcast using the studio tab, and play games while listening to the audio! This is also really helpful if you have professors that don’t provide study guides for tests. You can ask in the chat box to create a study guide for an exam based on the sources you provide. I could go on and on, but in summary, you put your own sources into a single spot and it helps you understand the concepts better.
Absolutely Incredible Tool. It's mind-blowing that this incredible AI tool is completely free and I'm very grateful for that. This tool practically solves the AI hallucination issue (not totally, but almost) by doing an excellent job of only referencing the sources that you toggle on or off. You can use it for any topic in the world, including for personal use such as medical records, household appliance manuals, a RAG for LLM thread history exports, software user guides that are hundreds of pages long, you can upload your external SSD's entire list of files and folders and have it teach you things about yourself you would never have thought of or remind you of abandoned projects that you'd like to revisit, art and music generation prompt writing, literally anything in the world. I definitely recommend everyone try it out!

Audio bad, no discover sources option. I love this service, but I’m still using it in the chrome browser. As the audio volume is bad in the app and there is no discover sources feature in the app.
Brilliant app. Really finding multi layered help x
Incredibly powerful!. This tool has empowered me not only at work but also in my personal projects!
Buggy for now. Can’t load audio overviews on the app. Stuck on loading. Loads fine on the website.
Missing features. Features like writing notes and sharing notebooks seem to be missing from the app
AMAZING. If you’re in high school or university you NEED this.
Useful. Very useful
SUPER GREAT. Highly recommend acing my classes
AMAZING!!!. The audio output is 5star and unique. I use this app for everything that I share online and no longer have bits and bobs everywhere, thanks Gem x
Helpful. Very helpful when it comes to studies
Often can’t connect to notebooks. At least 95% of the time I try and use this app in my phone I get the message that it can’t connect to my notebooks. There is no further explanation. I can’t log out from within the app, so I delete and reinstall it only to be faced with the game issue.
Great app but podcast/voiceover feature is way too quite. This seem like a bug and it should be fixed. Apart from that it’s a 5/5.
AMAZING. Such a wonderful invention, helps so much transforming boring articles into incredibly interesting podcasts. It’s just so helpful and I recommend to any uni student or anyone studying; learning is transformed! Thank you google
Best study app of all time. Literally the best study app ever with the amount of quizzes and notes it can generate for free. Not to mention its accuracy and use of what you feed it. 10/10 don’t think I’d do nearly as well in university without it.
🤯. This is the most amazing thing ever
My favourite. As a health science student, every single day, I find something that notebookLM does that makes me look at it like 😍 you can upload lectures into it and it transcribes it, you can customise audio overviews to make more jokes. My favourite study tool.
No recovery of deleted notebooks. Be careful deleting sources from a notebook. To delete you scroll to the top of the source list and have to select the three dots to delete a source. Those 3 dots appear right under the same 3 dots that delete your notebook. If you forget to scroll back up to the top of the source list and are cleaning your sources, boom, notebook gone while you’re in autopilot mode. To add insult to injury, there’s no way of recovering deleted notebooks… This is just poor app design, Google should know better.
Amazing tool. Bad app. Just make a web app or something. This iOS app just seems like a waste. Can you just port it over as a PWA please or keep in the features.
Different experience. It’s midday at the weekend, terrible chronic sciatica pain and last nights invitation to recover my account was simply to jerk me around. I deleting this App. They are cyber bullying me Google protecting their mates in big banks, NDIS etc.
Great!. Since it just released, I think this is pretty good, you can make content for websites, an ai thmakes content for you and that, even though for YT! Greatest hits my life!
Great for those who prefer listening rather than reading.. I love the podcast feature! It turns 30+ page journal articles into a 20 minute engaging podcasts. I love that when you ask questions it bolds what is directly from the article. It’s accurate.
Awesome Learning Tool. Tip: make good use of notes, then convert all notes to source.
Disappointing. It worked on a couple of small projects then stopped. This is after I’ve paid for it. What gives?
Sacred Day the Holy hour. Have you ever woken up and you know that your whole past and your whole future rests on what takes place during a one hour period, knowing that there is a mountain of tasks ahead of you, this hour will mean the difference between freedom and being trapped and walked over for the rest of your life. But only God can get yon what is required to get you through this hour. To have a 24 hour monologue of real events tracked in your Ai, and uploaded into LLM Folder you can listen to the day after it’s happened
Love this app. Take a topic you want to learn and convert to podcast style audio, listen and learn. Awesome
Life Saver. This was recommended to be by a work colleague to use while completing my university degree in teaching. I was so lost and couldn’t understand the content until this condense the many audios and readings. Best app ever!!!
Excellent but not as good as the web app. The inability to provide prompts for text responses is annoying. Likewise, it would be good to be able to select which sources are used within a notebook. These are both possible on the web app but not the phone app. Don’t sacrifice the text aspect for the podcast gimmicks please.
Best Ai NoteBook. Use it to generate audio file for complex topics
Report’s Function missing from the app. I love Notebook LM .. but I wish the app could be updated to include the Report generation function.
An app cannot be this perfect. Best study app
Five stars. Brilliant app for studying- I use it all the time.
Best App Ever!!!. This app is amazing! It helped me throughout my studies and provides such a clear summary of the topics. You even had options to make podcasts, infographics, videos, flashcards and quizzes! It bases everything off your notes and does not come with any prior knowledge unlike other AIs. NotebookLM saved me!!
IOS Version. Great but has editing limitations. Web version is great.
Just keeps getting better. I do a lot of study and note taking. With the newest update I can study in a range of different ways so I can really get a good understanding of my subject. Also now with all the various ways I can upload makes it brilliant! I’ve got whole books and manuals in there! Does an awesome job!
great app. This is the best note app I have ever used
Awful audio compatibility and lacks features from web. Whilst the tool itself is fine, it lacks all the note features like generating study guides on the web, and when opening an audio overview EVEN JUST in normal mode, it activates your device’s microphone - which causes it to go into phone call mode, only coming out of the earpiece and putting headsets into their low quality headphone modes
Awesome study tool. Having a reliable AI with complete known content that can deliver practice exams, audio books and a stack load of other learning options has been super helpful in exam preparations.
Best tool of all time. Im a year 8 student and this is the best studying took ever
If you haven’t got this tool get it!. This is an AI tool ust have in my opinion. Can create content, use it to help you learn, create data tables with information that is automatically scraped from your uploaded documents, create infographics, video tutorials, presentations, quizzes, flash cards, mind maps, translations, podcasts. Brilliant and whats more its all rolling out onto mobile apps.
My study companion. Such a helpful tool to learn and consolidate my knowledge on university subjects. Wish I found it sooner.
Buggy. I’ve just started using it and very obvious bugs abound. For example the first notebook I created I pasted a link to a public Facebook video and it said it couldn’t load it. Then after that I tried to add another source and the error was that it reached the limit of zero sources. I had to delete the whole notebook of zero sources because it won’t let me add anymore. Lots of other UI issues with the keyboard blocking the Generate button. Generated audio doesn’t play anything, just showing a flat line. Can’t accept pdf eventhough it’s supposed to. Then I upgraded to Pro to seem if things got better. No, it got way worse. The app killed itself and now I cannot even load it. Slow clap….
Podcast needs to allow us to customise. All good but podcast needs to allow us to dictate which topics to focus on and alter the length.
Real helpful. As a student who hates to read, this app is a must for me since it converts all of my readings into podcasts and also visuals if I want it to.
Better. Better than ChatGPT
Standout tool from competition with zero cost. Really practical features and must have tool for visualisation for any complex topic.
Thorough analysis. I’m always pleased when I ask for the audio it’s usually quite thorough and insightful
I usually don’t write reviews.. But this is a fantastic app and it deserves one. It’s exactly what I needed. Well done, bravo.
Intuitive. A solid advancement in the AI boom—definitely something I can see being applied in the workplace.
Buggy and not responsive. I used it on my laptop without issues. On holidays I use my phone and tablet. This is where it is not performing well. It keeps failing to create the audio file. Or it generates it but won’t play it back.
The audio volume is very low when using speaker mode. It's very obvious that when playing on the phone without headphones, the sound is very low.

SURPRISINGLY GOOD !!!. I ended up trying this app randomly by trying the students trial of Google Gemini AI and what a nice surprise. It's actually good and it does great stuff within a few minutes. It's different from all the AI's I've been using so far because I'm also a big user of ChatGPT pro but this one is very unique and when you're a kind of auditive memory person, this helps a lot and it makes me gain a lot of time. It feels like listening to a YouTube video or something that explains my subject, the concepts that I'm studying. Also, the good thing about it is that you can import any kind of documents on it and it's gonna turn it into a kind of podcast and even the people that talk, I mean the AI voices are very human compared to other apps, I feel like the way they talk is very natural and almost human-like, that is so great, it makes it very nice. It makes it a great experience. Also, I like the fact that you have a lot of options, that you can make the audio longer or shorter, before the podcast making you can write what you're looking for specifically in the audio and you can use many sources at the same time. It also makes flashcards and quizzes. Which is very nice. I hope they're going to extend the possibilities and make this app greater than it already is. I am definitely going to keep using it and it's gonna help me a lot for my studies. I wish I discovered it earlier, thank you very much. They're probably gonna make me pay Gemini to use it, but I'm fine with it. It's worth it.
Amazing so far, just…. Can you please let me delete/remove a public Notebook from my homepage. I clicked on it just to see an example, but I don’t actually want to see it.
pointless. what's the point of having an app if it doesn't have most of the features of the web version?
Creativity galore!. I am coming up with all sorts of new ways to use this to teach employees and customers.
.. Can’t write notes in the app.
Best Tool for focused Research. One of the best tools to use for focused research and studying. Well organized and thoughtful when it comes to organizing and learning information.
Love this app,. It made my schooling so easy.
Incroyable. Ça nous permet d’apprendre tellement plus vite !
Changed my university life. Use this with GEMINI for your studies, it will help cut study time half!
Cool but Bad. Cool idea. Bad execution. This app is seriously slow. Whoever designed it doesn’t know how to handle network requests very well..
Yes. It’s crazy. I don’t see any need to go to university anymore
Süper. Hayatımda deneyimlediğim en tatlı şeylerden birisi
Amazing. No words
Intuitive interface with great features. Takes LLm beyond text
Synched flashcards. There is no flashcard generative on the app mobile,
The best App. The best app
Wow it’s awesome!. I love it! It is spectacular!!!
Unpolished. NotebookLM is an interesting idea, but the app feels very vague and limited compared to the desktop version. There aren’t many features available here, and some of the ones that do exist don’t work smoothly. The audio tool is laggy and feels unpolished, podcasts often fail to download properly, and there’s no option for video at all. It has potential, but right now the mobile experience feels incomplete.
Student lifesaver. Please keep this free holy life saver
Google has provided the step-change. Simply the best toolset, and NotebookLM shined
Wow.
Just what’ve I been looking for. The current update is such a useful study aid really helps put everything together, if added a good video generation tool would definitely take this out of world, full house of content tailored to what you feed it, honestly impressive 👍 the free to use doesn’t even have to be talked about this tool needs more exposure good for learning anything
Wonderful app. If ur a student this app is so fire
Application d’exception. Voici une application qui permet de générer par intelligence artificielle des rapports audio, vidéo ou documentaire de haute qualité. Je suis vraiment impressionné par la qualité du rendu.
Great. Great
Great when works. Podcasts are awesome but it is way too glitchy
Glitchy. Useful but not reliable
A promising idea, that still feels half baked!. Google’s NotebookLM has potential, but right now it’s just OK! The concept is solid—it’s noticeably slow to generate responses and I’ve had it crash more times than i can count. That kind of reliability really breaks the flow when you’re deep in research and working on something thoughtful. It’s a bit of a bummer especially since competitors like ElevanReader are delivering a much smoother and more refined experience. Google has the infrastructure and talent to lead in this space, but at the moment notebookLM is trailing behind. Would love to see it stabilizes, sped up, and more thoughtful integration into Google ecosystem, Right now, it feels like Beta that forgot it was launched.
Suggestion for improvement. It'd be great if you could add more playback speed options between 1.0 and 1.5 in the next versions.
A gold star. I’ve used the desktop version forever and just discovered the app. This is a phenomenal tool because someone dared to try to make what is arguably the greatest iconic desktop interface into an iPhone app. It’s a huge leap forward and here’s a congratulations on this success.
Favourite new study app. I honestly love this app so much is so helpful with studying while you’re on the go and having such a busy schedule as a student this is really helpful
KEEP THIS FREE 🙏🏼🙏🏼. The best freaking app. Studying had been so much fun. The questions, the flashcards, the podcasts and the videos are on point. LOVE IT. I’m a broke student, so please keep this free, I’M BEGGING.
Needs subtitles. Love this app for studying but would love to have subtitles on the generated podcast.
The best one I ever found. This app is soo good it makes podcasts for my work and I understand it completely better than my teacher
Parfait. Le seul problème que j’aie c’est que les podcasts ne soient pas en français
give us more audio gen credits per day. give is more gen credits for the pro subscription
Horrendous audio quality on Bluetooth. Using this app with bluetooth headphones (regardless of device; I tried both my iPhone and iPad) produces awful audio quality that make the generated podcasts unlistenable. You’re better off just using your web browser, which works just as fine and doesn’t deplete the audio quality
A step forward for broke students. Tysm this is helping me succeed 🥹
Audio player is not good. When you come out of the app the audio stops playing
It’s better than i thought. There are no ads and it makes nice voices and it is pretty quick
Awesome. It’s awesome
Good app overall. The app itself is really good but I found that some of the features were very buggy. For instance the audio overview was not playing and it said it couldn’t load, when I tried the same thing on my laptop it worked fine. Pls fix
Wish you could make flash cards like on the web version. It would be good to add the flash card feature to the app too for convenience of trying to study when you aren’t at home on your computer
Thank you for inventing this app. Thank you
Mind blowing. Google made something people will need . Bravo
Really good surprisingly. Really smart idea. Please keep it free I’m a very broke student
Extremely helpful. Very helpful in reviewing large amounts of scientific literature. Allows multiple formats for learning, including the incredibly useful audio podcasts, flash cards and quizzes. Occasional errors but overall does remarkably well.
Just use in-browser. The app is way too limited. If you’re on iPad it’s better to just open it up in a browser.
Amazing but needs work. The overall app and concept is amazing. But definitely far from being perfect. I personally recommend better sorting functions, where notebooks can be shorted into folders. And a description function so we can see details of each notebook on the main page. Also a sorting function for sorting orders such as (A=>Z) or (Z=>A) and recents (old=>recent) and (recents=>old) Similar to Google drive sorting. Also a total count at the top. With the number of notebooks/folders at the top. I’d love these features both on computer and phones.
Single source of research. I trust NotebookLM for my deep research in any topic where I know my data. Amazing option to leverage multiple sources of information like pdf, website, Youtube etc. Best is audio summary aka Podcast. Highly customizable and quite productive to prepare analysis and reports. Only request to make App as good as Desktop version!!
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
Excellent tool except sharing malfunctions. By far one of the best AI tools except for its “current” inability to share viewing notebook capabilities when sharing with other gmail, google workspace users. I’m hopeful this will be fixed asap. The error is something along the lines of ‘grant access error’, when trying to give view only access to other technically qualified users, ie gmail, google workspace users.
Notebook LM. This app is incredibly helpful as I’m studying for an upcoming cell test, which is a very large unit. It makes flashcards for you as well as tests, quizzes, and podcasts on your notes. The only constructive criticism I would give is if the podcasts allowed you to pick the sound of the voices or add accents because that would make it much more entertaining. Overall I really like this app and I highly recommend it.
App stinks. I’m a medical student, and I used to put my faith in the audio overviews! It would make perfect length (~50 mins) and the info would be high yield. Now I’m lucky if I can get it over 30 mins and for it to not just read the document word for word (even after adjusting the settings). When using the app, the audio overview feature never. works. It fails to play every time, or it’ll spend 25 mins generating one, just for it to be 0:00??? When u use the website there are far less bug issues like this. It just used to be so much better :///
Loving it so far. I JUST got the app and it helped me ace my microbiology quiz!! Google PLEASE keep this free for students with no extra add on fees for new features just to get our money. It works well so far. I used the quiz feature and podcast feature where it discusses my notes. It even added extra information that helped me retain along with great analogies. I’ve used other apps but this works well for what I need. Good job!!
What an amazing tool. This tool is truly amazing. I use it all the time and I’m always building and getting great content from it especially the slides. Thank you so much, Google. He’s doing better now but it’s crazy. What a spider bike can do I did I was doing research and it turns out that less than 20 people have ever died from spider bites in the history recorded history so it’s super rare.
Needs Improvement. I gave 4 stars because what it does is very helpful. 1 star is taken away because it’s not the level of polished you’d expect from a Google app. Even with my volume turned all the way up I can barely hear the audio. Also, it will often just not create audio even though it says it’s working on it, or it’ll say it created audio but not play anything or delay playing by a minute or so.
Amazing Product Brought Down By A Terrible iPad App. Google, we need to talk. First, your app needs to stop using my microphone at all times. It means that I cannot open it up with out my entire workflow being interrupted. Second, the ipad app needs to be more like your web app. I should be able to save stuff in studio the same way as on the website. Third, why is Google drive not intergrated. One of the best things about LM is being able to place docs in. This app was clearly rushed out and it needs to be fixed. I will update my review once these issues are done with
MUST HAVE. If you’re entering college, you need this application. It creates podcasts, reports (important one is the study guide), flash cards, mind maps, quizzes and videos so whatever you use to study, it will float your boat. AND UNLIKE CHATGPT, IT WILL NOT PULL SOURCES OUTSIDE OF THE ONES GIVEN. My D270 professor recommended it to study for her tests and my goodness am I glad I listened. All you have to do is take good notes or even plug in class materials and you are golden.
Amazing idea, mediocre execution. The app is honestly pretty good all things considered. I love how easy it is to upload multiple sources and create a podcast that helps me learn the content through a more interactive listening experience than just TTS software. I just wish it didn’t cause CarPlay to crash since that’s when I listen to it the most. I find it’s better to download the wave file and play it in a different app. This is a game changing app though for learning.
10/10. Okay literally this app has saved me so much time and since I’ve had it I’ve seen an improvement in my grades. It’s literally the best thing I’ve ever used to study, it can take however many pictures, notes, uploaded documents and more, and turn them into anything you need literally! You can make flash cards, audio books/podcasts, quizzes, diagrams… it’s literally the best!
Awesome teacher. I’ve finally tackled a highly respected treatise that was written long ago and is technical but thrilling. I’m in!! By tossing it about and doing flash cards and audios I can’t believe it, but I could actually stand up and give a presentation on this huge topic. People in my circles named drop this huge document, but I know very few have ever studied it and actually know what it says. It’s priceless to have a foundation of certainty of something so insightful.
Best app for learning from your sources. What is best in it that u can chat with this ai but info will be given from the sources u given and u can make voice two people explaining the whole topic in different languages and make quizzes and flashcards and have this infographic option and slide deck option too that I haven’t used it
Must have for students of any level. This makes studying 100x easier, you can simply upload all your lectures slides or notes via file or copy and paste and it’ll make accurate quizzes, flash cards, podcasts, and much more all for free, I highly recommend at least giving it a try, it’s an amazing resource.
Mind Blown. I was happy enough initially with the software and interface of the app before i discovered the audio part, which was even more impressive . I uploaded a pdf of something i have been trying to understand just to see what happens and it created a podcast structured narrative with a male and female explaining everything. I can’t get over how natural it sounds and how it created everything so fast
I’ve learned in three weeks what I couldn’t in 20 years.. I put in any subject and it helps me research and learn it. Jazz piano? Check… rose bush care? Check…. But scariest was Python… I’ve bought maybe 6 or 7 books to learn the coding language and never got the rough the intro chapter to any. Now I can read it to a good degree and know what it says.
suggeestion. Thanks so much for everything you do for us , this app assist many of students to study in short time with focus on the important points of lectures. But I l have suggestions , I wish add new update ( share the lecture as pdf to print) that make a lot of students and support them to download and use the app.
Terrible, as expected. No matter how hard I tried, it consistently gave VERY wrong information! I asked it to help me study geology, and it was pulling info from conspiracy theorist websites! I deselected a grand total of 13 young earth creationist sources, and it STILL was getting a ton of stuff wrong. The stuff it was trying to feed me was so pitifully wrong, especially in the notecards it made me. The three peer reviewed articles it used were open source, and didn’t use anything else. It’s so much better to just do your own research, because you’re going to have to go back and re-research everything it gives you anyways. Never using this garbage again.
Missing in-browser features. While the NotebookLM service itself is amazing, several important in-browser features are missing in this app. It does support Google docs as sources or any studio customization options either. When the app is as robust as the mobile browser version, this will be a 5-star app hands-down.
Need to motion video option.. i’m using NotebookLM very a long time and I’m also suggesting people to use NotebookLM but most of the people complain me notebook can’t make motion video. Facebook meter motion video is better than notebook album so everyone just use Facebook Meta motion video. So we need to motion video for as possible as use notebookLm and we’ll make a better future.🥰
Absolutely awesome. This is the most useful tool invented in all human existence thus far. I am overwhelmed with it and can only use it in short bursts because I feel I could invest the rest of my life to making and benefiting from notebooks. There is an infinite number of uses and coupling the power of NotebookLM with other AI tools compounds and expands the already mind blowing utility of the tool.
App cannot download content. Every time I want to download content that I made on Google NotebookLM, I have to go onto Safari and download it from the website because for some reason the app doesn’t have a choice to sell. There’s also more options on the website then there’s an app like you can have pre-prompted options that are like made up as you write, which is cool but that doesn’t it doesn’t do that on the app.
Some things to consider. It’s not very user friendly. Downloading options are not visible. Takes very long to generate slides. You can’t see what you created on the app earlier on the laptop. A bunch of things need improvements. The app is way more efficient than in the website
This is a great tool as of so far. As a high school student this is personally a great app for what I’ve seen. It’s free. I’ve used it for textbooks to turn into little. Podcast and it’s not just like they’re reading the pages to you. It’s like they make a whole podcast where two people are talking to each other and they slide some funny jokes in there and it helps it stick better.
Useful tool with user defined scope. This is AI so it's a bit unpredictable or stocastic but it uses sources you control allowing you to reduce or constrain hallucinations. It is really good, ten years ago I would have told you this was impossible and now it really works well. You'll see its limits and those are really helpful to unstandardized too. Highly recommended
Force Multiplier. Notebook LM has been a game changer as a research assistant, data synthesizer, and facilitator. It’s been a tremendous help when I’ve been introduced to a new topic or interested in learning more about something. Helps with organizing and summarizing information, proposing thought-provoking questions, and laying out a timeline of events. And, the podcast feature is an excellent way to cement your understanding of the topic. All-around a very valuable tool.
Great service, poor app. Absolutely love NotebookLM’s service. The audio deep dives are a particular favorite. However, the app integration with iOS and CarPlay leaves a LOT to be desired. Would love to be able to control this (play, pause, rewind, speed change) from CarPlay. Also, when you generate an audio or video clip, the app picks a name for the clip. So if you are trying to generate a few related ones at a time, there’s no way to check which source went to each clip. It will tell you “1 source” or “5 sources”, but that’s about it.
Essential for college. With the boom of technology it’s hard to find a happy medium between diligent study or cheating. Notebooks provides that medium by promoting learning with ease by the use of AI. My technique: 1st: audio or video review (listen when convenient). 2nd: Then the day before a test, I have LM write a study guide and I physically copy that to my word document. Word by word. It takes less than an hour to completely digest.
Trash Bin for NotebookLM. I accidentally deleted one of my notebooks that I loved deeply, and there’s currently no way to restore it. Please add a Trash Bin or Restore/Delete confirmation system so users can recover notebooks if they delete them by accident. This would prevent a lot of lost work and frustration, especially for creative projects like mine. Thank you for considering this important addition!
I love it, BUT…. The various “Generate new” buttons in the Studio tab automatically go to work on all selected sources unless you remember to click on the arrow to choose sources. I don’t find this intuitive and with a daily limit of how many outputs I can generate I’ve already wasted two today while trying to remember this (I’m new to the app and I’m certain eventually I’ll get it right, but for now it’s very frustrating!)
Incredible. I LOVE NotebookLM. I cannot believe I am just discovering it as the semester ends. It is already helping me so much as I study for exams. In addition, I’ve started using it for D&D and it makes everything so much more convenient. I can give it my adventure, my players’ characters, etc, and then it becomes my one stop shop for anything I need/want to know.
Needs update badly still at late 2024 level. I want to give this five stars. The web app gets 100% five stars and is fantastic. The iPhone app? It’s basically the notebookLM from almost a year ago. If you go online, it’s got so many multi modal ways of learning, including infographics, slide decks, videos, mind maps, reports, and more! Get this thing updated so you have access to that as well. At the very least, get video option available. Once it does that I’ll definitely return it to five stars
Love for content heavy classes. One of my friends told me about this and I’m in my junior year of college. I wish I would’ve had this my freshman year. The whole app is great. My favorite part is that it’s free and provides awesome resources to study and I love the fact that it only answers your question based off of what resources you submitted. I love it. I tell everyone about it now.
They should really know. To the developers: it’s a 5 star concept but for reasons unknown to me it’s left on the user’s to explore the boundaries of the potential. I have uncovered many amazing features that I assume aren’t documented or discovered. I have enjoyed exploring the boundaries of the MoE architecture and how to influence routing tokens to multiple experts including experts that NbLM doesn’t induce. I don’t want to go throwing wrenches into the gears so I have been researching the boundaries and how to push through them. I have enjoyed many models and platforms but NbLM has consistently regained my attention. Where can a person get in contact with the people who can determine if/what can be released. I can easily invoke outside sources. I am routing tokens in fascinating ways but I don’t want to negatively impact the product/platform by releasing techniques that fundamentally circumvent the routing mechanism.
Disappointed with App. I downloaded this app because I love using it to study on my computer, and didn't want to have to haul my computer everywhere. When I downloaded the app on my phone, I noticed I couldn't access the majority of the features I could on my computer. I can't access the flashcards I’ve made or any quizzes. I love the podcast feature don't get me wrong, but whats the point of downloading this app if that's all I can do on it?
Language Issues. Hi, I’ve been using this app for about 2 weeks and I can already tell how good and helpful it is, but There’s something that have been bothering me, is that It’s only in English. Every documents I have are in French and I would have liked it that it would remain in French but they translated it. Can you do something about that, add other languages, it would be better.
My wordsmith when I can’t hammer out the raw context. It’s a great space to work. I’m in cognitive decline and this model has helped me send the messages I want to send in a manner and style close to my own when I was able. It has become an extension of my thought process for the time being and I am turkey grateful for it. I appreciate the work that was done to develop and grow the model. Thank you all !
Scientific Articles. I gave this three stars because it’s very clever. It does do fairly well however it’s terrible when it comes to pronouncing certain things such as Greek letters I think the developers need to go through upload some scientific articles. Listen to it and find issues and fix that. Also, the mind map can have a lot of redundancy so you’re like rereading the same thing over and over. If some of these issues could be fixed, it would definitely be worth something for a small subscription per month that I would pay for. The interact function, which is also in beta testing you have to join every time. If it could be integrated to where the AI would ask you a question and then it give you feedback that would be amazing.
When it works, it’s amazing. When the program works, the podcast audio overview is fantastic. It makes studying for my masters program much easier. My issue is that there are days, where the audio overview does not generate anything. I’ll try to restart it, and it won’t work. I’ll delete the files and re-upload them, and they won’t work still. Some days it just has a personality of its own.
DOWNLOAD IT IMMEDIATELY. Honestly this app is life changing! The mind map and the podcast is my most used features and genuinely transformed how I study. They just added a video feature and I’m excited to try it as well. The podcast is perfect for drives, workouts or even multitasking while doing chores. Beautiful use of technology and best thing for education imo!
Really good but too quiet. I love this app. I love the AI podcasts and they’re very helpful. As of now, there is an issue that I have to turn my phone volume to the max to just barely hear the AI podcasts. My phone is only a little over a year old has clear speakers and I don’t have any known hearing problems. It worked fine on the website so idk what’s going on. As long as I’m not going crazy I hope this gets fixed soon.
Missing key features, audio bug. Seems like they rushed the release of the app rather than waiting for a version that was equivalent or better than the web version. There’s no ability to generate mind maps, study guides, timelines, FAQs or briefing docs like you can on the web version. There’s also a bug where the audio from the generated podcast (deep dive) comes out the ear piece instead of the phone speaker. Using an iPhone15 Pro.
Love idea, poor quality as of now.. I was very excited to use this tool because I love studying and researching topics both for fun as well as for school. It just simply doesn’t work. The audio and video it creates hardly ever load and when they do they only play for a few minutes before freezing. Tried on multiple WiFi’s same issue. I’m sure they’ll work it out, just wouldn’t expect this out of a company like Google. Not like they don’t have the finances to pour into the project. This feels like a beta version that was released too soon
Podcast your notes. It’s great! I love how it gathers your notes, study guides and quiz questions and sets a study guide all in one. I work out and listen to it, just like a podcast. It has helped me prepare for my exam and I honestly find it worth the download. I can pay attention and understand much more in a podcast style audio.
So helpful. I’m a PhD student and I am working on synthesizing so many different sources. There were a few articles I was struggling with. Put it through this - listened and interacted - helped me clarify ideas. I don’t think it’s a replacement for reading the information. I don’t think it’s thorough enough for that - but it really helped me process and understand! I’m a HUGE fan!
Desktop is much better. while the mobile phone app seems convenient, it lacks feature functionality of the desktop. I found that it doesn’t always work. It struggles to play the actual narrative. I have had better luck building my notebooks on the desktop and generating the content there. Once complete., About 50% of the time I can enjoy the content on my mobile device.
Great App — One Feature Would Make It Pertect. This app is amazing. It has everything I need: audio, quizzes, and flashcards, which makes studying much easier. However, I noticed that the website version has more options than the app. If you could add the Briefing Doc feature to the app, it would really be the cherry on top. Overall, great work, this app is very helpful!
This app has 35% of the web features. The web app has the ability to chat, add sources, look at the summary of the sources, save notes, do study guides, FAQs, and voice and podcasts. Unfortunately, this app you can only upload sources. You can only chat. You can't save your notes. You can only do podcasts (I wish you could save your notes too). But if you just want to click easily just chatting with it. Just chatting with it. That's what the app is only good for. Unless you can just go on the web.
Game changer for learning. This app has allowed me to take a clinical study and turn it into a podcast so I can listen while I drive, clean, workout, it’s a total game changer ! It also makes quizzes flash cards etc .. I can down load photos or screen shots from a website and then listen whip in driving and it’s not a boring computer generated voice ! It’s amazing !
Do it do it do it do it now. This was a last minute things I was hoping would help me just a bit but it did more then that giving me a video a audio a poster flashcards I’m blessed I came across this it doesn’t cost a penny I am over prepared for my tests(in a good way) so even if your thinking about it do it trust me I will use this for the rest of my life🥹😍
Satipatthana AI Journal. This is the first journal that I know of , that is created by Google Gemini AI with the questions and answers from chats. It will be very useful to the meditation centers where the students (aka Yogis) can share their experience to apply these techniques in their daily lives. It is the beginning of the Walk for Peace, to show that there is a community to support them. May all beings be well, happy and peaceful.
