Stelo by Dexcom Comments & Reviews 2026
The app is OK. The app works well, but it does give you spike Alerts, and you can add events to your spike alerts. The unfortunate part is if you look back at your history and you didn’t have time when the spike alert occurred to enter what you ate. It will be in the history and it tells you to add an event of what happened, but it does not give a date only, the time there’s no way of knowing what day you had a spike alert to figure out what you ate to enter unless you do it immediately during spike. It also does not save anything earlier than 24 hours as far as data which is unfortunate. I would like to be able to see more history, more charting over a months time. For the price I was hoping for a bit more data and may have to go to another platform eventually that provides it
Failure after a few days and 2nd won’t pair. I have used two other apps for different styles of Dexcom CGMs for over 3 years. My first Stelo sensor stopped working with 6 days left and wouldn’t pair again. I chatted with customer service but cannot complete a claim because the form won’t let you progress without a serial number which the only place it’s located is on the box. They denied my first attempt when I used the SN from the app but never told me why my claim was denied!! So I tried again still with two days left on the sensor but can’t finished the claim without the SN off the box. So I gave up and tried a 2nd CGM out of a new box and the 2nd one will not pair with my phone. I have reinstalled the app 5 times and restarted my phone and turned Bluetooth on and off over a dozen times. Never have I had this many problems with a CGM app in the over 3 years of using them. Occasionally there are fails or issues, but the other companies rectified the problems or just gathered info during chat process and replaced a bad sensor. The chat person both times just ended the chat abruptly. Additionally the chat function is more difficult to type in than others and you have to hit the send button several times for it to post. Just clunky app that other apps will even let you log meals. Stelo does not have that functionality.
Slowly getting better.. Once you get past the jittery jiggy first 12 hrs or so the graph becomes usable. It now bundles close-in-time event markers at the bottom of the graph together, which makes sense, but why not say somewhere what time span makes them get gathered together. When u tap on a marker to see its details why on earth not have an Edit button there so u can go straight to the event if u want to, not have to exit, go to events, scroll down to find it then edit it. They also added a very useful “go to now” button for those times you’ve dragged the graph back in time to get it back to now, without all the scrolling u had to be before. It would be awful nice if it could total the daily carb counts of you’ve added them, when u go into events. Maybe have a button to do it on demand so it doesn’t slow the events page scrolling.
Mostly incredible. This app has helped me so much. It allows me a lot of insight into my high blood sugars and when it starts to spike. I personally struggle with low blood sugar as well. This app doesn’t give any readings below 70 and will not alert you to a low blood sugar. I was really hoping it would be able to so it can help me with that as well but sadly it doesn’t so this won’t be a 5 star review. I really hope they can change that so it can alert to lows as well hopefully soon! Please also allow the data to be shared to the follow app! I’m begging you please allow it to be shared as well as read low blood sugars!!!!! I’m also continuing to get wrong readings which never happened in the beginning but now I have no way of truly knowing my levels due to incorrect readings. I was very hopeful about this because it’s the first dexcom to not require a prescription but so far it hasn’t been much help for me and my family or for my care team. I’m very upset about this!
Runs above my actual glucose levels. I love that I can get this CGM without a prescription and it’s been very helpful learning what causes my blood sugar to raise. It’s also motivating because I can see it come down in real time when I exercise after a meal for example. This is my second sensor. The first one was showing elevated AM blood sugar when I was pretty confident it was actually normal. Sure enough, I cross checked with a finger stick and my glucose was 84 but the Stelo read 104. Today it was reading 118 when my finger stick read 85. This exceeds the standard deviation they list in their disclosure forms (I think it was a 20 point range.) Today I will cross check post meals to compare. It’s still helpful to learn overall trends and become more aware of my physical symptoms during a blood sugar spike so overall I’d recommend it. Just beware that it’s not super accurate.
Too many malfunctions. So far, very unimpressed and frustrated with the CGM. The first one worked great, but the 2nd one in the subscription had reading that were totally different than the first one making it hard to know which one was providing real readings. The 2nd one then just suddenly stopped working early. After some work with customer service, they sent me replacements. The replacement was working fine but then I found out from my medical provider that they could not access my data. Long story of working with Dexcom customer service, the Stelo app was taking readings but wasn’t connecting to their main site, Clarity. Turns out after almost 2 weeks of wearing the 3rd CGM, Clarity couldn’t even find the registration for this monitor so all that data was useless because my medical provider cannot see it. I’m now on my 4th CGM and waiting to see if my doctor can read the data. If this fails, I will cancel my subscription. So incredibly annoyed.
Needs improvement. I initially thought this was great! My second sensor malfunctioned, but the company replaced it immediately. It seems as though every other sensor malfunctions and is reading 10 to 40 points higher than my sugar. The last time, I reported this, the company never responded back to me and did not replace the sensor. I’ve canceled my order as the sensors are just too unreliable. It’s a great idea and hopefully they find a way to improve their product. Received an email that I can go to their website to get help after writing this review. I have done this. It doesn’t change the inaccuracy of the sensor or the lack of communication. I wish the company the best and perhaps they will improve their product for the future. I will not be continuing to purchase as it is a waste of money.
Just missing a couple of things. It needs a “dark mode”, the white screen is so blinding especially when checking at night. It disturbs my partner as well. Other than that, the app has all the basic functionality you need. Sensors have been reliable with the cover stickers I got that are after market (which are more comfortable than the one it comes with). I don’t ever have connectivity issues with the app any more. I accidentally deleted the Bluetooth connection from my first sensor not knowing what it was, I had to Google how to fix that. It had no issues after I got it reconnected but they should build in a way to reconnect a sensor when this happens. It’s great otherwise. I love the simple and straightforward design. I like that it integrates with Apple health and now Oura as well. They are really doing a great job trying to meet the needs of their users above and beyond just the blood glucose readings. Great job!
Bad product, worse support. The device is very inaccurate. Some days is fine but other days it can fluctuate 20+ points. Manual says it can fluctuate around 20 points on a regular day and support is quick to point it out if you reach out about accuracy issues. They may send you a new sensor but prepare for a fight. You’ll need to provide the serial number which is in the plastic piece meant to be thrown away and wait weeks for them to respond. Also Tylenol affects readings 30-40+ points. This is bad enough that it is not worth using it. Much better to find a doctor to prescribe Freestyle libre. UPDATE: I just realized that Stelo that been measuring consistently wrong and my average glucose was 10 points higher than it should have been which would put me in pre diabetes range. My doctor told me I was fine but I didnt believe him so I found another dr., bought a manual glucose meter, and they all showed I was fine but I still believed Stelo more. My new CGM now agrees with my doctors and my manual meter and Im actually in normal range. Months of anxiety and time and money wasted because of this. That’s the reason Stelo can be purchased without a prescription. Is more of a toy than a medical device.
Apple Watch not working with Stelo. I downloaded the Stelo app by Dexcom. I tried to make one of my complications Stelo but it wasn’t offered. So I searched the web to find an Apple Watch face that would support Stelo. I found a website (not a dexcom website) that showed three different face that work. I tried one called Utility and you can actually select one of the complication as Stelo. The downside is that it works for awhile then it stops. It shows the word Stelo or three -. You have to touch that then your watch face goes away and a graph comes up with a number. When you go back to your watch face you either get your number for awhile or get the Stelo word or three -. Should would be nice if you would get this fixed. It would also be nice that Dexcom would state on their website which watch face the support.
Can't Complete App Setup. Have not been able to complete the app setup process. I'm stuck on the second part of the process, linking with Bluetooth. It tells me that Bluetooth access is restricted and that I need to go to settings to use this feature. When I click on Settings it takes me to Stelo's setting section but there is no button there allowing me to establish a Bluetooth connection. So I go back to the Stelo app and try again, and again, and again. Can't find anything on the web that explains this problem. Bluetooth is turned on and works with several of my apps without a problem. When I visit the Dexcom site I can't find a solution. When I click on their help bot it takes me to the search bar. I type in my question and it tells me there's nothing they can find in their database in regards to my query. So I'm out of luck. Absolutely no customer support. No way to contact them!
Works fine. I’m writing to address some of the 1 star reviews I read before trying this. I’m not pre- or diabetic and do not do finger sticks so as far as accuracy, I have no opinion. However, I have learned that you have to keep the app open and running in the background to get regular data. Also, when you read the manual, you learn that the device is not continuously connected and appears to not connect to Bluetooth. It connects every 15 minutes to data dump for just a flash. If you close the app, the readings are blank until you open the app and wait for the data dump. I’ve had some success, maybe, at tapping the device to get a Bluetooth connection but it may have just been the right time. Have some patience and the data will populate. I don’t know how accurate but it does follow my food, drink as expected. Last, it links to the aurō app fine. I think you have to log meals in both apps though to keep track. It doesn’t appear to transfer if I just input to aurō.
Very disappointed. I got Stelo see the effect certain foods have on my glucose readings. It is easy to apply and link to your phone but the app is simplistic. You can’t get the actual numbers from points on the graph, and the scale on the side only has a few numbers so you can’t very accurately determine your reading. It asks you for carbs for your meals, but I don’t know carb counting. It works be nice if you could connect it to a subscription like lose it or my fitness pal and be able to incorporate the carb info (probably an extra fee, but it weighs be so convenient) out even have a carb “booklet” attached. I feel like the app thinks I’m too dumb to know what to do with numbers if I was given the actual values. I’ll be trying a different brand of CGM after this month to see if there is a better interface
First sensor worked second one did not. I will update this review after I am contacted by customer service but the first sensor worked splendidly so I know that I know how to use it. These are not cheap devices. They must be changed every two weeks. I guess they deactivate them, but I’m pretty certain you could potentially use it longer if they weren’t de deactivated, so my first complaint is the cost, but I wouldn’t care about the cost so much if every sensor worked. I placed my second sensor today and it’s not working. It says that the sensor stopped working early. I could understand that if it was day 14 or even day 13, but I literally just placed it and it just never worked. It never repaired. It said it was ending. It’s sensing session early and that’s just not acceptable. I will definitely need a replacement if I get one this review will improve, but it certainly isn’t an easy process because they have a chat bot for problem solving which wasn’t able to solve my problem, but they have opened a case and so I’m waiting to hear back
So bad I was actually compelled by to write a review. Ugh! I wish I had read the reviews on here! I had the EXACT same pairing problem with my second device as other people have mentioned on here. First two weeks and first sensor were great. I really appreciated learning how different foods and activities impacted my blood sugar. I followed the instructions explicitly and then it failed to pair with the new sensor. As it was warming up I received a message that the session ended early. After which I tried all of the “tuning it off and back on again” mechanisms within my phone and Bluetooth. What was even more frustrating was that the only customer service is the utterly USELESS Stelobot. After submitting a help desk ticket, I received an automated response that I would be contacted in 1-2 days. I was not contacted, so on the third day I submitted another help ticket. Received another automated response saying the same and was never contacted. Finally a week later I received an email stating I would not be receiving a replacement Stelo because they are “unable to validate the product issue.” How can an issue be validated if nobody ever contacted me? What’s even more laughable is the EXACT. SAME. automated response to every negative review on the App Store. I’d say “do better Stelo,” but your customer service bots clearly aren’t capable of processing that kind of feedback.
Good but not great. Received my first sensors yesterday and it seems to be working fine. Not sure how accurate readings are but after reading it can take sensor as long as a couple days to fully calibrate I’m hoping my readings will start being closer to what my finger sticks are. Like others, would be nice to be able to look back previous days to see patterns. I’m getting extended periods of time with “below 70” readings, would be really helpful if it told me what the actual level was for these low readings. Last night while sleeping readings showed 3-4 hour period of continuous low readings. No way to know what actual levels were. I’m sure if I told my doctor I’m “below 70” 23% of a 24 hour period his first question would be “how low “. This app is new and has tons of potential, hopefully will see additional features on near future. Also hope sensor calibration completes soon and readings are more in line with my finger sticks. Really nice not having to stick 7-8 times a day. UPDATE- My readings are coming closer to my finger sticks. More importantly, after doing some research I learned that the Dexcom Clarity App is compatible with the Stelo sensor. This app incorporates all the information from the Stelo and provides a wealth of information including reports that can be downloaded and saved on your computer or even shared with your health provider. The Clarity app used in combination with the Stelo sensor is a game changer.
NOT accurate. I’ve been wearing Stelo for few months and assumed the numbers were accurate since it was relatively consistent. I started a new sensor last week and I was surprised that my baseline glucose level was 20-30 mg/dl higher than my usual number and the peaks after meals were also significantly higher than my usual numbers. It made me very anxious that something might have happened in my body for this abrupt progression until I suspected that the sensor could be faulty. I got a traditional glucose meter with finger sticks and every time I tried, Stelo was off by 20-40 mg/dl higher than my finger stick measurement!!! Needless to say that this experience was pretty stressful until I figured out I couldn’t trust Stelo measurements. Having said that, the device is useful in understanding of changes in glucose levels with different activities and meals but don’t rust the numbers coz those could be way off!
NEWEST APP UPDATE BRICKED MY STELO. Update 11/20: I originally wrote this review about 3 months ago. I have been buying and using their competitor while I waited for them to fix this! I read a review or two that said they got sensors to work, so I tried one today. It literally failed only 10 minutes into its warmup. This has been more than enough time to fix this problem. I am mad that I have 3 months worth of devices that are just expensive paperweights and Dexcom won’t give me my money back, even though it’s a THEM problem. If you’re still willing to try these, DO NOT BUY a 3-month subscription! They will not even acknowledge that there is an issue!!! I have been using the Stelo for close to a year. It worked great for the first few months, then I started seeing random sensor failures right after starting a new one. Even with using coconut oil to saturate the area, removing a brand new $50 device is painful in both a literal and figurative sense. It feels like my sensor failure rate has escalated over the last few months, and now, the latest app update actually bricked my Stelo sensor! I went through all their troubleshooting steps, and as a last resort, tried fully uninstalling the app to see if it was just a glitch. But, like another recent reviewer mentioned, nothing worked, and the sensor just kept saying “Signal Loss” for days on end. I finally removed it after about four full days of trying everything to get out to work again, and tech support basically said, “BUT DID YOU TRY THE TROUBLESHOOTING?” They didn’t even acknowledge that it could be an app update issue or try to help other than saying they will replace it. That’s great and all, so at least I’m not out the $50, but how is that going to fix the actual issue???? I can’t just connect the new one when the APP isn’t working!!
Great product if you’re curious about your glucose levels. I have been curious about my glucose levels for quite some time. After purchasing the dexcom sensors, this is the app it has you download. It connects to the sensors via Bluetooth and monitors your glucose levels 24-7. This part of the app is great! It’s cool to see what happens with your glucose levels during activities and with different things you eat and drink. The app has a great concept allowing you to enter meals by creating events which is a great way to track glucose spikes or drops based on these events. Stelo even helps with events by syncing your activities with apple health. However, it is not setup to sync food intake with apple health. I feel this would be a great addition to add the nutrition sync so that one doesn’t have to enter food in multiple apps. I personally keep track of food and water intake in another app with more information than what Stelo asks for so it would be good to have Stelo sync nutrition with apple health as well.
They can’t handle your data correctly. Buy a new phone while using a sensor? GFY. Want to see historical data from your old phone? GFY. Thankfully their parent company knows what they are doing. Maybe someone from Stelo can ask them nicely for help in delivering an app that doesn’t tell customers to GFY…. Response from developer is completely worthless. The chat bot will only send you to a link that only reports all crashes. That’s not the problem. Clearly the developer has no clue what they are doing. I should probably just contact Dexcom directly and explain how dumb this app is. Their app shows historical Sadat, yet this stripped down, less capable device has a substantially worse app that won’t show your data from a previous phone when you get a new one. That’s so unbelievably stupid. The Dexcom Clarity all at least can generate historical data through their report generation feature.
Hope it gets better. I’m rather disappointed in the app. It’s very minimal, which could be alright if you are just after general glucose tracking. The events entry is very lackluster right now. You can enter in your carbs and activity level/duration. There’s a spot for you to type out your meal description. However, unless you hand write the details in the notes section, you have no idea what other factors are involved. There’s no mood tracker or sleep tracker area. There’s no easy way to track or mark info that matters to me… like when I feel sleepy, what stress events occurred. I’m glad it has a little note area but it could be better. My other sugar tracking app allows you to select components of a meal and add information easily with colored markers for stress, weight, mood, sleep. Also, it seems like the notes are not private. It took me a bit to figure out you need to hold your finger over the graph to see the individual entry points.
It’s ok but it needs work. I got this device because Ive been having full on fainting episodes after eating ice cream or big plates of food. Literally to the point I felt drugged I had no control of my body I felt trapped inside my mind I was so tired. Now this is reading that my sugar keeps going below 70 but it’s not telling me how much and I don’t know if I should call an ambulance or not because it’s also having sensory issues so what if it’s not reading all the way correctly? And I’m afraid to go to sleep. I just wished this offered more insight. I have health issues that are unidentified right now and I have no clue if what I’m feeling right now is connected to my sugar because I don’t trust the sensor. It keeps going out. Also you should send an alert when a persons sugar is continuously under 70 for over an hour straight. Honestly when it goes above or below range level you should send an alert to the phone.
Works but needs improvement. The app does what it needs and makes setting up the sensor very easy. It does need some general improvements though. Here are my thoughts listed from minor to major... 1) The scale is fixed from 60 to 300 which is frustrating. A lot of wasted plot space from that... 2) Is missing other useful metrics like AGP and eA1C which are quite useful and one of the major benefits from using a CGM... Fortunately, you can at least get AGP from Dexcom's Clarity website and iOS app which automatically syncs with your Stelo data. 3) No ability to calibrate... I expected CGM readings to be off from blood test strips, it's consistently 10-25 high, which is fine. However, when I spot check the readings with glucose strips, I can't remember whether it was 10 high or 25 high two days ago. So when I look at the past two days of data it becomes hard to tell how in range I truly am. The ability to enter a blood measured value and have it automatically calibrate would be very useful. For example, between two blood tests of 10 high and 25 high, it'd linearly interpolate the offset for GCM data in-between.
Not detailed enough. The basic function of the app, showing rinsing and falling glucose overlaid on a range target with alerts, is fine. But it’s just not detailed enough to be really useful. The data plot is small and the y-axis showing the glucose reading is unlabeled except for the bottom and top of your target range. So good luck knowing what your specific reading was. Wake up in the morning and want to know if your fasting glucose has been under the target of 100? You basically can’t tell. Fortunately the app can write the readings to Apple Health, so you can go in there and look, but the app really should make it easy to see specific reading history. Regarding Health, the app can pull in your workouts and other data if you let it, but it makes minimal use of this information in relation to your glucose levels and doesn’t help you at all understand how exercise, for instance, affects your levels over time. Mostly the Health integration feels like a way for Dexcom to vacuum up your private data so they can do things with it corporately. Gross. Like the sensor; please make an app worthy of it else what’s the point? (Also: the watch app literally does nothing. Literally. It just displays a message saying to check the app on your phone. Why does this exist?)
App needs some work with added features. I ordered this to track what my glucose levels do throughout the day and try and get them under control. The app needs some updates. I have been wearing the Stelo for a week now. 1, there should be an option within the app to adjust the glucose reading. Something where you can do a figure stick and input that reading so the app will be closer to what your actual blood glucose level is maybe do something like take 5 readings throughout the day and input those results so the app can adjust to the correct readings. Or just how you can do it through the app for the G7. 2, the app tends to lock up when I tap on any of the notifications in the middle of the screen except for the glucose spike notification. This should be addressed. This is happening on a brand new iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 18. And was happening on the previous iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 17. It’s an issue with the app. As I said I’m using this to try and control what my glucose levels are doing throughout the day but being off 10 to 20 mg/dl doesn’t help. I’m thinking I’ll just do the 1 month the cancel my subscription as this doesn’t do what it should. I know it’s not ment to be as precise as my BGM but it could at least be a little closer to what it is. Also not being able to make contact with an actual person isn’t good either. I tried the Stelobot and couldn’t get anywhere with it. Even when I finally got to a point where I could open an issue. It would just start the bot over asking how it could help me. Not impressed with the app as it could be a lot better and I’m hoping Dexcom is actually reading these reviews to see where they need to improve it. I’m sure I’ll find other issues over the next 3 weeks.
Very insightful!. I’m using Stelo to monitor my glucose levels during my pregnancy after a GDM diagnosis. I did a trial with Freestyle Libre 3, which I found to be rather clunky. This app has been a game changer, though. I appreciate the spike notifications, the insightful articles, and the ability to go back and look at specific times and measurements. Also love the syncing with Apple Health. I’ve been able to not only see my levels in real time, but, as opposed to 4 finger sticks a day, I can see when my levels drop between meals and address it. The only things I’d like to see added are a setting for Gestational Diabetes maybe with some more guidance and information on it, and maybe an option to “Sync Now.” I don’t mind it spacing out the syncs to every 15 minutes, but for GDM I have to do a reading 2 hours after I eat. If that falls in between 2 sync cycles, I have to decide which reading I’m going with, and sometimes my levels can jump in 15 minutes! Great app overall, though! I’m finding it to be very helpful in managing this diagnosis, and baby is doing well because I can monitor more closely!
Not perfect, but extremely useful. I’ve been using this app and the Stelo glucose monitors for about 6 months at this point, with just a couple of short interruptions. I’ve had a vastly positive experience, especially for my diet and health. I’m a physician with physician friends and few months ago I was suspecting myself of developing diabetes. One of my friends got my a Dexcom and then I switched to Stelo. The insights offered helped me figure out when I ate too much and when I went overboard with the carbs. Kept me honest as well. I then went on to lose weight and now I can see my sugars trending lower and being better controlled. I did not end up being diagnosed with diabetes but let’s say I narrowly avoided developing it for now, in large part thanks to Stelo and this app. Now the not so rosy part. The most annoying, I had at least a couple of sensors not initiate at all. Not pair to my phone. A bit painful having to remove and insert a new one, however Stelo stood behind their product every time and they sent me a replacement. Also, maybe the app is a little limited in statistics, however you can connect to the Health app and you can use other apps if you want to see more statistics. I do recommend this app to anyone who is trying to eat and live healthier life.
Game changer!. I have been using Stelo for a month after using another CGM. I find Stelo much more flexible and user friendly. Ordering is easy and promptly delivered. Applying the sensor is painless and not intimidating at all with the straightforward instructions. The thing I like most is how easy it is to navigate. I love love love the weekly summary for both my % in range chart and my average glucose for the day and the week. It has helped me make informed decisions about when I eat, what I eat that spikes or doesn’t spike, and seeing the timeline for how long those spikes take to come back to normal. I’m learning a lot! I’m thinking about getting an Apple Watch so I’m not tethered to looking at my phone throughout the day as I learn about my body’s response to foods. To Stelo Developers: I would like to see an enhancement that gives more than just the high number of the green range and the low number of the green range. sequential numbers in increments of maybe 10 or 25 in between the high and the low would be extremely helpful. (70, 80, 90, 100 etc). Usually I get “shakey”when I dip below 80, so I set my low to 80 but it didn’t show 80 on the green range. I had to guess when it went below 80, or slide my finger over the dots to see the actual number and time. I started Rybelsus this week so this CGM is now helping me see each day’s activity to keep myself in the healthy zone.
Ugh! Already stopped working.. I had my monitor for a little over a week and it stopped working. The app indicates that readings are being taken, but it’s not being documented on the graph that shows my various levels. I wish there was a way to look back at all the data so I can make better comparisons, I had to create my own XL spreadsheet so I can see the changes for various strategies such as exercising after meals, drinking vinegar before meals, cooking and refrigerating, and then reheating pasta, order of food intake, etc . Adding insult to injury, there is no way to contact someone and discuss concerns other than through a form. I’m disappointed that it all stopped working for me as I thought it was very helpful in preventing metabolic issues. It’s an expensive tool given it only worked for a week.
No Support by design. Update: The response from Stelo App is simply to talk to the bot. They didn’t even read the review because the bot is useless. Again, the sensors are arriving after my last one expires. There is zero customer support. You have to talk to a bot that has limited programmed responses and it’s not helpful. Even here, there is no real human intelligent response- just a federally to the bot you’ve already given a bad review. Do better Dexcom. There is no email for customer service. The only support offered is a list of articles or a useless chat bot. Every other company offers an email support ticket system, but not Stelo. The app offers no way to see what you glucose measurement was ast a given point in the past. The chart shows dots on a graph and the latest measurement, but graph doesn’t give a specific number for those dots within the range. There is no way to click on a past dot to know what the number is. Also, the only macro you can track is carbs. Having other macros tracked helps to see if fat or protein affect BG spikes. Overall, it is something more than nothing, but for the price you can get Lingo that has a better app. And the lack of transparent support from Stelo is shameful.
Great app, poor device. I am a physician with prediabetes and I was interested in continuous glucose monitoring. Sine I was getting the Oura ring, I decided to try Stelo. While I’m not sure how accurate the readings are, they do seem to correlate to the carb loads I’m eating. The app works well and I’m very happy with the data it gives and the seamless integration with Oura. The device, however, is infuriating. I’m on my 3rd device in 15 days and this third one already needs to be replaced because it is stopping and starting giving readings and seems inaccurate the past 24 hours with all my readings being 70-75 no matter what I eat. I use the bot for help and they do quickly review my case and send me a new device. The biggest problem is I hate inserting a new device because I’m nervous (even though it doesn’t hurt) and I can’t apply the tape on it myself so if I’m alone, I have to ask a neighbor or coworker for help. And the constant gaps in data from device failure is frustrating since I’m so new to glucose monitoring that I’m really trying to test out foods and anti-glycemic supplements and how everything affects my sugars. The device is super disappointing and honestly, at this point, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Great Product!!!. A really great product! I placed my order and it arrived the next day! It was very easy to install the sensor, and app is very easy to use. It was working great for about four days and then suddenly quit working. I received an alert that said the sensor is no longer working, install a new sensor. I tried to reach out to support but realized they do not have a direct phone number. They provide a Bot, for support. After sending the Bot a message that my sensor quit working after only four days (instead of the fifteen days that it is supposed to last), I received an email directing me to fill out a claim form with the pertinent information. It was a simple form and as soon as I sent it, I received a reply saying they would send me a replacement sensor. A terrific response to an otherwise shaky start. I love all of the information they provide about controlling your blood glucose spikes. It is very empowering to have this information. I have already made changes to diet and exercise that are lessening spikes. Great job Stelo!
Stelo app and support not ready for prime time. Update… Apple support solved my issue…apparently while trying to make all of the iPhone settings changes recommended by the app I hit a wrong button (symptom used by apple was noticing my name in settings was greyed out… symptom that caused me to call apple …. I could not find the “App Store” app on my iPhone. Like other users the watch complication does not work as advertised-if you click on the complication you get a message “check app on iPhone”. Which is meaningless. Trying to contact support from Dexcom is not easy. There is no phone number there is no email address. Their chat bot is obtuse and does not understand this problem which not only occurs on the new Stelo product but has also occurred on Dexcom’s older G7 product (according to a Reddit thread) The only alternative to the chatbot is to try to fill out a “smart form” (I use that term loosely) which is not compatible with Safari. When I gave up I got an email from Dexcom asking “how was your support experience?” Amazingly I was able to reply with free form text describing my frustrating experience. I got a reply some one was “ analyzing” my situation and would get back to me in two business days. A day later I got four separate emails each with its own Case number telling me they could not proceed until I completed the form at the embedded hot link. I clicked thru only to get a message that my form had been already completed. Today I got more emails stating that if I did not complete my form my case would be closed. As a former freestyle llibre 2 user I know that they have a phone number that is answered by humans ready to help. It might make sense to wait for the freestyle lingo or rio products if Dexcom can’t get their support straightened out soon.
How did I get along without this?. Love the info I am receiving from the sensor and the app. I am learning things that are very helpful to me. I have two suggestions. 1. Is it possible to have the green shaded graph area lined and labeled every 10 points from 70 up to 250? Then I could see if my glucose was around 70, 80, 90…180, 190, 200, etc. Before the v.1.4 update I could easily drag my finger along the bottom of the chart and see the exact number at 5 minute intervals. But it is very difficult to get that to work now that we have so much historical data. And I absolutely love the historical data, so thank you for that. 2. Is there a way to increase communication through messages or posts on a website or a blog or something? When I did the recent app update I started getting invalid data. It was showing my glucose to be 30 to 120 points lower than my finger stick tests. I reported this and only received auto email responses to acknowledge my case. I never heard if I was the only one to have this issue, if I should insert a new sensor, if this issue was being worked on, etc. After five days I received a new sensor in the mail and the app told me my sensor was no longer working and instructed me to insert a new one. Thankfully that worked and thank you for the new sensor. But a note to me personally or a post someone that this was being worked on would have relieved my five days of frustration.
Quality is not there. I bought an Oura ring a few weeks ago and added Stelo to that purchase originally. I used Dexcom monitoring in the past and rarely had an issue. I am on my third Stelo sensor and have had the following issues: 1st sensor-lasted 8 days, did not have an issue before it abruptly stopped working 9/25 on day 8. 2nd sensor-only lasted 30hrs At this point, customer service provided one replacement sensor despite having purchased two under performing sensors. 3rd sensor-lasted about 24hrs then started losing connection. I have to turn Bluetooth off/on to reconnect the sensor every time I try to see a reading. I am doing it all day long. It does seem to fill in the trend with the “missed” readings when it syncs so giving 3 stars because it is not losing the data and they replaced one sensor. Obviously turning Bluetooth off/on all day not what I expected and does not match the description of functionality at purchase. Based on the frustration in other recent reviews I read, there is either some software/version issue or some issue with the sensors at the moment. Hopefully, Dexcom resolves asap.
4 essential things missing. Hi, there are four essential things missing from this app. 1) even Type 2 Diabetics can occasionally go into hypoglycaemia events. So having alarm options for audible, haptic and notifications not only yourself, but to others for dangerously low glucose levels is essential, because it can kill you faster than hyperglycaemia events can. Hypoglycaemia events have a greater effect on your motor and cognitive functions. These can prevent you from doing what is needed to keep you alive. 2) just seeing a below 70 doesn’t clue you into if you’re getting dangerously low. Periods and how far below are essential in determining if you need to talk to your doctor. 3) a alarm for prolonged disconnect should be available. Similar to the notifications for having your app closed, but with options for an audible, haptic and notification of others. This could also be an indicator that your CGM has come off or some other problem exists. 4) alarm options similar to the aforementioned in (1) for high levels would be nice. Why you guy’s keep building new applications for each different type of CGM that you have is beyond me. From my perspective as a user it would seem more efficient to use a single application for all of your CGM’s. P.S. It would also be nice to have an ability to look at more history and have a time frame input area. That way if I want to take a screenshot shot of a specific section only for comparison to say my sleep or exercise times I can have it easier to see in the screenshot.
Basic sensor, hard to make changes as a result. I got the pair of Stelo sensors on a subscription to measure my sugar levels, learn what causes spikes and how to keep myself healthy. The sensor ordering process was smooth, the insertion videos were helpful and got into my arm. The sensor is a little painful to wear while sleeping, apart from that, I don’t notice it much. It takes blood glucose estimates regularly and plots it in a graph. There are daily, 3 days and weekly stats of average levels and 3,6,12 hour graphs for the day to day. While these basic features work well, there is so much to improve. 1. food tracking is ridiculously bad. I have to use another app, track my calories and foods and come back and enter into this app. Defeats the purpose when I need to use multiple apps, then insert everything into Apple health and do analysis myself. 2. Need your phone always near you for tracking to work. Wish they could pair with my Apple Watch which is always on my wrist instead of the phone or increase the range of the sensor 3. Analysis and reporting is too basic and correlations to physical activity, sleep Levels, stress and other measurements are non existent I canceled my subscription and would return when they fix these must have features to enable a better lifestyle.
“Useful Device with Room for Improvement”. This device is quite good overall. However, since it only provides 24 hours of data, I find limited value in using a CGM without at least six months of historical data. It seems like adding this feature to the app would be a simple and beneficial update. After using the device for about a week, I’ve noticed that hot showers can significantly affect the readings. For example, my glucose reading went up to 193 after a shower, but a fingerstick test showed 115. It’s unclear which is more accurate. That said, the device has been valuable in helping me understand my body better. I’ve realized that when I feel unusual sensations, especially at night, it’s often due to elevated glucose levels taking time to come down. Once the levels stabilize, I can sleep more peacefully. While it’s not perfect, it has helped me gain insights into what’s happening.
Product stopped working- no replacement allowed. This is by far one of the biggest wastes of money I’ve ever spent. My glucose monitor only worked for about three days before it lost signal in the app. I went through all the troubleshooting tips and worked with the AI bot agent, which is terrible by the way. I finally got in touch with a live agent after a day of working on it and was on a chat with them for over half an hour, and they determined that my sensor was defective. They helped me fill out a ticket and request a replacement. Then, they denied the replacement request after they already had told me to remove my defective sensor. I’m out almost $100. I would have been a long time customer for many years, and now I won’t be purchasing again. I refuse to pay almost $100 for only three days of data when this company won’t do right and help me acquire another sensor to replace their defective product. I would like to encourage anyone considering a CGM to look elsewhere as this hardware is known to stop working with the app. I see a lot of similar reviews online and they don’t ship replacements as they should to customers whose product stopped working through no fault of their own.
Good now, will be great with some fixes!!. 1. Would love to contact support by phone or email. It seems like if you contact support then they will just send you a new sensor and be done with it. I would like to explain what went wrong so these issues can be addressed instead of just being given another sensor. 2. The app could use some updating but isn’t bad. It would be nice to see historic data. 3. Accuracy/ability to calibrate sensor. My first sensor was way off. I work in a lab on some days and got by blood drawn to compare reading. I was skeptical of my readings but my average was 110 and fasting glucose from previous drawings was in the 70s and my a1c is below 5. Lab draw showed 74 when sensor showed 100. A good idea would be to send customers a calibrate kit? Dunno. 4. My next sensor has more accurate readings but I’m on 7 right now and the sensor has been having errors for the past 24hrs
Wasted my money. My mom had used one previously, to see what her blood sugar was doing over the day (we’re both insulin resistant) and gave me the second from the box. I downloaded the app fine. It lead me through making an account, setting up and applying the sensor, my goals in using the app, and showed me the home screen telling me it was calibrating. All of this was great. 30 minutes later, it tells me it has readings now, and I go to the app only for it to tell me my phone software is out of date and I can’t use the app. This is only, of course, after it already walked me through jamming the $50 sensor into my arm, in the exact same app it is now telling me I can’t use. Why did it not tell me I couldn’t use the app the first time I opened it? Better yet, why was there no message in the App Store telling me it needed a newer software than I have? My phone is old and can’t update to the latest software but it works perfectly fine with everything else so I’m not about to spend hundreds of dollars on a new one. I’ve run into this before, but there’s usually a banner on the App Store letting me know. It’d be fine if the app just wasn’t compatible, I get it. But the fact that it didn’t tell me that until way too late in the process is absolutely infuriating.
App Failure. I got Stelo to use with my Oura ring and to help monitor my blood sugars throughout pregnancy. I had used it as a trial once before 6-9 months ago and it worked great. I decided to start using it consistently 2 weeks ago and I have had 3 sensors fail since then. The company replaced one sensor but would not replace the second. I had paid $89 for one month and only had glucose readings for a total of 7 days, not 30. The first sensor truly just failed. The other two sensors I had to remove because the app kept failing. I tried closing the app and reopening it but the app kept shutting down. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling the app, which worked in that the app was now accessible. But then my sensor had to be replaced because it was no longer paired once I reinstalled the app. The few days I did get readings were great but I would not recommend wasting your money on this product simply because the app fails more frequently than it should and the company is less than willing to help resolve this issue.
Support Is Just for Show — Issue Still Unresolved Weeks Later. I am writing a follow-up review because my original issue has still not been resolved, and the situation has actually become worse. After my sensor failed completely after just three days of use, I contacted support and followed all instructions provided by the developer. I logged into my account, used the chatbot, and submitted my issue exactly as requested. That was over a week ago (possibly longer), and no one has contacted me. No email, no follow-up, no solution. The so-called “developer responses” posted here in the App Store are purely for appearance. They contain generic text, provide no real assistance, and seem designed only to show Apple that the developer is “responding.” In reality, nothing happens after that. Once you go to their chatbot and submit a request, you are simply ignored. This is not a game or a casual app — this is a health-related product used for blood glucose monitoring. A sensor that fails after three days and a support system that goes silent afterward is completely unacceptable. Reliability and accountability are critical in this category, and Stella fails at both. At this point, it is clear that the company is not interested in resolving real customer problems. They make it look like support exists, but when you actually need help, there is none. I strongly do not recommend this product or this service. Poor hardware quality, non-existent customer support, and misleading public responses.
Disappointing. I am quite disappointed with this app. The sensor constantly disconnects. For hours at a time leaving huge gaps with no data (my Dexcom G7 did this too). This happens frequently at night when my phone is plugged in a within 2 feet of the sensor. I’m never very far from my phone (who is these days) so this frequent disconnect is annoying. In addition, the sensor clear has the ability to tell me my high and low values above or below the range but the app just states “below x” or “above y”. Not very helpful. As a T2, that is pretty well controlled I’d ok with the every 15 minute readings but I do need to know the actual reading regardless if it is above or below those thresholds. In fact, one could argue THOSE readings are the most critical. Also no alarm for these extreme reading. Not that it matters on either of these last two fronts of the sensor continuously disconnects. And the app crashes. A lot.
CGM works. This is my first experience wearing a CMG and I am not a diabetic only “pre” diabetic with an A1C around 6. The choice to wear a cmg was suggested by a nutritionist who is trying to assist me with not going on diabetes medication since metformin -which causes GI distress - has been recommended already. Con: App has to be open all the darn time. This is the only reason I marked it down a star. I wish it could take readings without being open. This is the only flaw since I always close my apps. Yes, the developer thankfully put in a notification reminder that pops up (if you turned on the notifications) to tell you it will not register readings if the app is closed so I almost immediately reopen the app every time I mindlessly close it. Apple Health gets reading while closed, I wish Stelo did too. Positives: It is relatively small compared the cmg that my bil wears for his full blown diabetes. Granted his measures sugar lows, the stelo does not measure below 70 mg/dL. I am on day 5 of my first stelo and I have not had any issues with adhesion to date. I do not sweat alot so that maybe why? Or the adhesive is just that good. I have had it say that the monitor was not able to get the readings several times, and it said to give it time to reconnect. I think readings may be impacted by my hydration levels? The app allows one to insert information like meals, activity, stress or other so you can see how foods spike glucose. It also gives you a chance to say what you were doing just before or during a glucose spike. It has definitely shown me that my sugared drinks cause an almost immediate change in glucose. Happy so far!
Good start not yet prime time. The first sensor I got was off by at least 20%. THIS IS unacceptable. the second sensor stopped working after three days and was replaced by Dexcom the third sensor works like a champ. If my next sensor works as well I will be totally pleased. It has already helped me go from an A1c of 6.7 down to about 6.1 (at least by the numbers). I am very pleased with that, but there are some problems. The first deals with the sensor being 20% +- off. if you had a way for me. To adjust my readings by the error found using my finger stick up or down basically hiding the error. It would help a lot. (Mentally) second problem is customer support or lack there of. This is very new tech. And many that use it are elderly. We need to be able to ask questions and get immediate answers. Thirdly WHY US THIS NOT COVERED BY MEDICARE? (Rhetorical question). IT IS REALLY AN AMAZING PRODUCT. I feel sure it will mature into something great. PS I want to buy may patches from a local pharmacy so my patch is not exposed to extreme temps upon delivery
The good and bad. Things I liked: The whole thing is very easy to use. Both my wife and I had no issues at all understanding how to use it despite never using a cgm before. You can easily see what impacts you positively/negatively and make decisions accordingly. I like the look back feature. I can see making this part of my every day approach to healthier decisions…but… 70mg/dL as the lower range doesn’t seem to make sense. Should be 40 or 50. Wish food logging was more simple - we ended up abandoning this feature. Overall app needs to be better so I can do more within it (eg ordering another stelo). Other shopping options in the app would be smart too. - also face ID please. Incorporating other health apps/info from wearables would be great. I use whoop and if I could see my Stelo data in my whoop app, all the better. Finally - sadly, there is a stigma to CGM - some people still look at you funny when they see one. Do something to make the wearable clearly Stelo (look, branding etc.) - so the impression others get (who are in the know) is that someone is health conscious as opposed to dealing with medical issues. I think this would help uptake.
Stelo App Just Keeps Getting Better. I have been using the Stelo app for about 9 months, and been through numerous iterations and updates of the app. Improvements are made every time and with this latest update it’s even better! I love the ability to scroll back or select on a calendar to view historic data. I love the haptics when selecting a certain point in time on the graph to see your blood sugar level. The AI meal analysis far exceeded my expectations. I was amazed that I could just take a picture of whatever slop was in my dish and it managed to figure it out very accurately! I also love that they fixed, in Events, the method by which you select the amount of time you spent exercising. Instead of a very finicky scroll bar, it is now a scroll wheel that works much better. Thank you to the development team for doing a great job! I think my only suggestion left now would be to be able to access past weekly reports. Those are great, but as soon as you click Done, they disappear forever.
Not sure. I got my meters today. So far, it’s reading about 50 points lower than my finger sticks. I’m hoping it will settle out and get better. Also, when I first installed the app, all I could see was my account info—no instructions. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app. Then, it worked perfectly. If the readings settle out, I’ll be happy with it. Update: My readings are much closer to my finger stick meter now. I like that it tells you when you start to spike. You can put a note in the app to identify what might be causing the spike. What I wish it did: I wish you could ask for a reading or set the time in between readings. Right now, it appears to take readings every 15 minutes. Also, I haven’t been able to see a reading on my Apple Watch. If I touch the app icon, it just tells me to check the app on my phone. All in all, a good first effort. With some tweaks, it can be awesome. I’m just glad there’s a device for those of us who aren’t insulin dependent.
Hides and falsely reports very high glucose. This is a good system and a good app with one truly massive flaw. I understand that Stelo is mostly meant for pretty well controlled diabetes, but hiding data that is over 250 is a super weird, bad choice. The message is essentially “yeah that’s super high and you should do something about it,” which, while obviously true, leaves the user totally in the dark. Worse, it just starts reporting all 250s which is not just unhelpful, it is *false*. What it suggests to me, frankly, is that there’s probably some other reason, like maybe Stelo loses accuracy over 250. How are we to know? That doesn’t seem right though, because Dexcom does keep and use the numbers over 250 in Clarity. Limiting is an awful design decision I can’t really imagine an honest defense for. The user should know what their level is. That’s the job. Seems simple. I will gladly add at least 2 stars to this review if they change that, because Stelo is otherwise really well put together.

App freezes. The app freezes every time you click on the purple “glucose spike detected”, and the green “time in range yesterday” notifications. I have to force close the app to get it to function again. Wish that there was a widget available for this app. (Dexcom has added to all of our reviews to ask the chatbot built into the app for the support. There’s no ticket system, no que, no real people. I think that this is a good product, with awful app suppprt.)
Fantastic app and device. This is a great app and device. I don’t know what everyone is complaining about - it gives you your readings consistently and accurately. It has a bunch of nice features such as spike alerts, event logging etc. it’s made to serve one purpose and it serves it well.
So inaccurate that dangerous. The numbers reported by this CGM are way way off. I compared it with my blood glucose meter and it was 25-30 points off on all the occasions. That could be quite dangerous for folks who want to track glucose. Instead of being helpful it could cause harm by inducing stress that could increase glucose level in itself. I threw away mine after 3 days. Customer service is non existent. There is a useless chat bot that is basically a waste of time.
Great patient education resource. I’m a new user with three days experience. User interface is intuitive. I’ve experienced no problems. My favorite feature is the patient education materials.
Too much of what I don’t need, not enough of what I do need. I’ve used Dexcom G6, G7; freestyle libre 3 when I first received my diabetes diagnosis. Since then, I’ve gotten my sugar under control and use CGM’s to keep my A1c in control. Stelo is great in that it costs less and doesn’t need a prescription. But it’s far worse than three ways: 1. it updates every 15 minutes, when it’s clear, it could update more frequently without issues. 2. You can’t sit calibrations like you could with G6. Without this, the reading might as well be an arrow. 3. The app has no ability to show sugar readings as a badge or as a tile on iOS I would gladly trade all of the spike detection and diet mapping features just to have calibration back. Here’s hoping this App improve quickly overtime.
Would like ability to customize range. So far so good. I would highly recommend. My only suggestion for future improvements would be to allow custom ranges.
Scam. Don’t order from Dexcom or Stelo. Stelo provides no live support whatsoever. They only sent part of my order. The other part went missing though I’ve been charged for it. Impossible to contact an actual person. The bot is absolutely. It’s a joke. So they’re very good at paying themselves taking money off people’s credit card but anything goes wrong and all you have is a truly stupid (really, really unbelievably stupid) bot. Look at the notes from the developers on all the people’s reviews stating they have problem. They refer EVERYONE to the bot. The only support is the bot and support articles. You cannot reach anyone in that company. But they gladly charge you even though no support is provided. All sales final? We’ll see about that. This product is sold under false pretense, with support that doesn’t exist. Scam.
Terrible Customer Support. I applied my Stelo GCM following all the instructions on the website, but I could not get it to pair. Tried to reach out for support, but the only option available was to chat with a “bot” and then I filled out a form. Said someone would get back to me within 24 hours, but nothing yet. Found a customer service number, but they couldn’t help me because they were not trained on working with Stelo. Ridiculous!
Calibration. The app is simple and does what it needs to do. It would be better though if there is an option to calibrate with a glucose meter like the G7 to ensure accuracy. I understand that there will be a difference, but it seems some times that the Stelo’s readings are way off.
Not useful. Tried to make it work. Not sure of the accuracy. App would freeze and tell me loss of connection after IOS upgrade to Ver. 18. Had the sensor on for eight days and lost all my data. Tried Customer Support and it is non existent. After screwing with the “Bot” I received an email to fill out a form for help…after more two days. Used the second sensor and it bothered my arm and removed it after two days. This product is a good idea, but not useful. Hopefully Dexcom will figure it out.
Accurate readings, need more data please!. For what the app offers right now it seems to work well. However, the data availability is very limited. I would like to be able to view or download all readings , rather than only see the latest reading and the general trend, as it’s not possible to zoom in on precise readings from the graph alone.
History too short. What’s the point of logging your meals when you can see more than 2 days ago. You can even see your spike level beyond 24 hours. App needs to allow longer logging/history. Now we have to take screenshots if we want to keep a log.
Effectively no support. The parts of the app that work are nice. You can see your readings, etc. If however you have any issues, the only support mechanism is to chat with a severely limited bot that will offer diagnostic steps like remove the app and install it again. Unfortunately when you do this, the app won’t reconnect to your Stelo device without the numbers solely on the box and applicator you threw away several days prior. There is no human support and the only way forward is to use your next device, wasting $45. If you use the Stelo, be sure to take pictures of the box or applicator labels should you need them later.
Good Start!. I’m not sure if this is an isolated issue but Stelo app on Apple watch is not syncing with iPhone. Instead, I get a message to ‘Check Stelo app on iPhone’. I’ve checked everywhere on the app but could not figure out what I need to check or do? Would be great at some point if it can connect directly with watch like the G7. Please, add widget too.
Not as helpful as G7. I’ve used Dexcom G7 for weight loss and several glucose tracking not related to diabetes. I was glad to see Stelo come sling without prescription and at a lower cost. BUT the app features are severely lacking compared to the G7 app. No audible alarms! And no way to calibrate Stelo with true readings from external blood glucose meter! The readings of the Stelo, like the G7, are not very accurate but I was happy with G7’s ability to calibrate.. THAT made the G7 a perfect companion device. Switch out these features, Stelo is basically a toy. I hope they improve this soon.
Grateful but could be better. I’m grateful for an affordable way to monitor my glucose. I just don’t like the dots. I used to use the signos app with the Dexcom G7. Can you guys do an update that would allow the dots to trace as a straight line? I’m just not crazy about the layout but again, I’m grateful. Even if it’s not visually appealing.
Dinosaur. They should not have released this app yet. It’s sooo basic. Do not switch if you’re already using a competitor you like (I switched and now can’t get the old deal I had. Sooo frustrating.) I’ll go back to counting carbs and pricking finger over this company or going back to Signos. Probably fine if you’re just using to find out your average instead of pricking your finger.
Customer service and app are terrible. Update: Download the Dexcom Clarity app to see all of your data. They should tell people this! This app leaves a lot to be desired. Can I export my data? Can I look back at my numbers and events together or is my history only available In the form of an event list not tied to numbers and little dots on a graph? I think I’ll Switch to the other new CGM if I don’t see improvements in Stelo soon.
Good app but needs work. If the app would refresh in the background, I could give it a higher rating. Keeping the app open all the time is necessary to keep the reading updated, could be better.
Logging Bgm stick gone. In 1.20, the ability to add a finger stick reading is gone. And yes Developer, I DID submit a form to SteloBot. The form it gave me was irrelevant to the missing feature. It focused on asking about an app crash. In the last month I’ve not had one sensor make 15 days. Best was about 10. SteloBot replaced 3 sensors so far so that’s good. Readings not accurate to my finger sticks, taking into account the delay between actual blood and interstitial readings.
Not a fit for gestational diabetes. There are only two target glucose ranges available, neither of which is compatible with ACOG’s recommendations for gestational diabetes. Is it really that hard to add a third option for a pretty common subset of diabetics? Or better yet, just make it customizable like other brands do.
Dismal support. It is virtually impossible to resolve issues when you are limited to a few responses while communicating with a bot. If you do get an email response from anyone it is a form letter that doesn’t address your issue or allow you to reply to request clarification. It has taken me weeks to get nowhere. I won’t be purchasing again, even though it will cost me more elsewhere.
Very intrusive. I have no interest in receiving notifications, but this app is very insistent -- it nags me every time I look at it. I also do not wish to share my personal information with this company, which means that now I cannot recover my password since I didn't fully fill out my profile. I want DATA, not a nanny. Won't be buying any more monitors from them until they become more privacy-friendly.
Overall useful app but buggy. Time in range works now but weekly insights are broken and lock up the app and don’t swipe between pages correctly. This had been working but appears to be broken now with iOS 18. The reporting in Clarity is more detailed and I have found I need both apps to get what I need from the experience.
Could be better. The goal of “time in range” is less than ideal. One could be 100% “in range” and still have unhealthy blood sugar levels. Why not allow the user to specify a goal for average mg/dL? A scrollable and zoomable graph would be much nicer than the current fixed interval (3, 6, 12, 24hr) graph. It looks like the maximum retained average is only for 30 days? Why not at least three months (same as A1c)? Additional stats like “daily high/low” would be nice.
Good base app. I’d like to see a widget added so we can view current measurements without having to open the app. I’d also like to see an iPad version to at least be able to view/sync the data via the cloud.
The app is simply adequate. The app is adequate. It does not allow you to freely zoom in and out of the timeline. It doesn’t allow you to scroll back before 24 hours. It only shows your events on the horizontal view and then only as small dots at the bottom of the view rather than on the data itself (e.g. as a vertical line through the data). A lot could be done to improve this.
App needs improvement. The app should show your glucose and what your ate/your events next to each other to better view what the cause of a change was. The app also needs to have the ability to look back at certain time frames better with the first chart in the main screen. i should be able to zoom in on a 3 hour period a day ago.
Useful but missing a key feature. Started using yesterday and I do like the sensor. But the app needs a way to generate a report of the readings and events for a selected date range and then export it to a file or at least send to email. Right now o have to manually log some of the readings into a different app to be able to create a report for my doctor.
Slightly useful. Got my Stelo 3 days ago, it reads 20 points lower than well established finger stick testing system. Suffers from false compression lows (like all CGMs) but weak in no calibration, it would be enough for me if the app provided for deleting false lows so the time in range would be a useful number. Probably will not continue after a month with only some slightly useful information from this system.
Good device bad app. I’m glad this product exists (over the counter CGM) but this app is seriously bad. None of the insights actually work. App just freezes if you try to tap the weekly or session insights card. App freezes if you rotate it into landscape mode. Doesn’t keep any history of insights. What exactly is the point of recording insights like meals for glucose spikes if the history only lasts a few days? I honestly can’t believe this app is as bad as it is.
Great product I have learned so much. This product is amazing. It has given me the ability to make empowered choices in my life and understand what is right for me. The app is easy to use and informative. I can’t wait to see what they release next!
Support needs improvement. If you have a problem with the device the only option is to interact with a ChatBot and it’s exasperating. No phone support. Update: This is laughable. The developer’s response to me was clearly composed by another ChatBot. “For assistance with your order(s), reporting a product issue, or other support needs, please log into your Stelo account and submit your request through SteloBot.”
App is too simplistic. It only shows the data for the past 24 hours. It would be a lot more useful if we can see ALL the data. I would also like to be able to zoom in and out both in time (x axis) and in glucose values (y axis), not just the 4 presets currently in the app. Update after using Stelo for 5+ weeks: 1. Sensors do not seem to be calibrated. The first one my average fasting glucose was 105, second one 115. Now in the 3rd one, average fasting is 96. I have not changed what I eat or how much I exercise. 2. There is NO support what so ever. You see all the robot replies here about submitting tech support requests in the app. But the chat bot only let you ask certain things. Any device issues you want to report, it asks you for the serial # of the device. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO READ THE SERIAL # OF A DIME SIZED DEVICE FIXED TO THE BACK IF MY ARM?!!!
Consistently off.. I am on my second sensor. They have both been anywhere from 15 to 30 points lower than my actual blood glucose levels. It needs a way to calibrate. Right now the only sensor that can be calibrated requires that the patient is insulin dependent. I have worked hard for 10 years to avoid insulin dependency because insulin is the fat storage hormone. Also a way to store the readings for later would make it more useful.
Great Learning Tool. I have loved using Stelo to better understand how food, exercise and stress impacts my glucose. The spike detection is a really cool feature and makes you thinking about what you ate and analyze the impact it made. Highly recommend trying it out.
3 stars. Helpful to see trends but I wouldn't expect to rely on it for accuracy. My biggest gripe is that the app has to be running all the time. I can't tell you how many times I have closed the app and been reminded to keep it open. Would be great if it would run like my Fitbit did.
Very Basic App. This is a basic app with little help. Gives you your glucose but inputting food is like a 90s app. You’d think they would have a connection to all the food sources. Type in Chipotle and it pulls up infor, but nothing. You have to go figure it out and add it manually. Hopefully the Abbott app will be better when it comes out.
Great for learning and adapting my food choices!. I love this app. I love the simplicity of understanding the impact of food on my glucose, and how different choices helps me to stay in range and manage my weight better. Love it. Would love to be able to see my entire glucose history.
Account issues constant. Constant issues with logging in and account. Original account had issues so I had to recreate another one and now I can’t cancel membership. Website and app need major improvements. Device itself is nice and affordable. I wish you could see data past 24 hours and more in depth on the chart with food tracking.
What’s the point of keeping events?. It only keeps 2-3 days history, which I found after entering every meal data for a week and they were all gone now except last 2 days. The app only writes glucoses data to Apple health so basically I lost all my contexts why there were spikes. Then why do we need to keep Event even I can just remember.
Where is my Glucose Data?!. I had liked using it, but then decided to take a break. As I do not have diabetes (which is the whole point). So you can imagine my surprise after spending nearly $300 to have spare sensors…that all my data was gone from the 2 weeks I wore that patch. Unless I replaced the sensor (ie spend more money), I can not see my historical data…only a blank screen that says Replace Sensor. We have free apps that store your state. This is literally medical insights that I wanted to look back on to improve my health. And they blocked access to it. They have Dexcom has the ability to do it and actually stored my daily steps that I gave the access to via Apple Health. But my glucose numbers…they won’t let me see. If I could give it negative stars I would. 👎👎👎👎👎
Great start but flawed app. Please add the ability to calibrate device readings to the app. My Stelo readings are consistently 30 mg/dl higher on average than my finger stick. No point in continuing subscription until this is fixed.
BEWARE misleading sign up - TOS doesn’t support above iOS 17.2!. At sign up, it says “minimum 16.2 iOS compatibility” AFTER sign up, they support “16.2 to maximum 17.2” (Dec 2023) - and to “not update your phone”. They are not keeping up and won’t support you if you use newer than 17.2 They also only offer “support” BOT - there is no phone nor email folks (all roads lead to the Bot. The bot has VERY limited choices. Their own fine print says 20% of may NOT last full 15 days. BBB complaints rank them 1.3 stars. They ask you to compromise your iOS security to not update your phone to receive full support - this is wrong and medical companies who require a smart phone shouldn’t be in business if they can’t or aren’t willing to keep up. And should not be I business if they mislead customers. This company does.
Please add ability to export or print data. New to CGM. Love the app. Its intuitive and straightforward. Only complaint is that you lose access to data after 48 hours. There’s no way to archive it or go back and retrieve it. Likewise there is no way to export this data or to print your daily chart. Would love to see that for long term use.
Severely limited app. For some reason the developer has gimped the app. Specifically with regards to old data. When it sees a glucose spike they suggest entering an “Event” so you can look for patterns in what might be causing spikes. The problem is…after a day or so ALL those events you entered vanish. You can’t look at them and your old glucose readings….they also disappear. Try again Dexcom
Decent, but it’s hard to really learn from if you can’t look back.. It’s not a bad app, but could be great if you could look back at all your old data. I like to have the same meals and change/add something to see what my glucose does. Adding food and activities is simple if you don’t want all the details. The food you have to enter the carbs and that is the only option. Activities only allow for intensity and duration, need to allow type of activity.
Doesn’t work with Apple Health. I use MFP to track macros and it could simply just import the carbs for the events if it allowed the apps to share. This could be a really great app & service with some thoughtful changes.
Stelo by Dexcom. Received a two pack. Mine has worked fine for two weeks. My wife’s fell off after two days. Customer support is nearly non-existent, all via bot, confusing, and worthless. I had set-up a monthly subscription, but cancelled due to 50% fail rate and lack of client support. Received a response from Dexcom on 10/3. It said to contact Stelobot. It’s useless! That was the point of my review. Confusing and worthless customer service.😂
game changer. am in perimonopause and trying to learn how to adjust with my change in hormones. I have learned a lot about my eating habits, lifestyle, and stress levels. Who knew Açaí bowls would make my sugars go crazy!
