No Longer a Viable Online Game!. Ticket to Ride used to be our favorite family online game, especially because we don’t all live in the same state. Unfortunately, the recent update changed all that. With the older version it was very easy to “see” and choose routes. The new game has pastel colors that run together making it extremely difficult to see the contrast between routes. Who cares about choosing the type of locomotive when we are constantly having to look for which color and route we are on because they are so difficult to follow due to the lack of contrast. The other aspect we don’t like is how quickly the points are counted based on the number of tickets we have made. It’s hard to keep track of the route(s) and see what we’ve done before, during and after because of this update. The board is way too busy and that combined with the lighter colored cards, board and trains makes it almost impossible to keep track of our cards, routes and progress. In a nutshell, it’s no longer fun, so none of play anymore. I’m only writing to find out if there is a way to revert to the older version which we all enjoyed.

I wish someone could get it right!. I had the original Ticket to Ride, which became Ticket to Ride Classic, which is now obsolete. Towards the end of the lifespan of that particular game, it became so glitchy that you could never make it through an entire game without freezing up or being booted out a bunch of times. Unfortunately, whoever took over and started the new app has not figured out how to fix that problem. This game continues to be just as glitchy, and continues to freeze up and kick you out constantly. In addition, this particular version of the app does not have some of the best features of the previous version. There is no rating/ranking system. I am getting used to the pastel colors that others have commented on. If you can ever actually get a game to make it to completion, it is a fun game (if you like the board game.) But unfortunately that almost never happens in online play. I cannot figure out why developers cannot figure this particular game out. There are billions of apps of different games and most of them work on a fairly consistent basis. This one does not work… which is frustrating because it has potential!

Horrible now. You know how subway maps are famous for giving you just enough info, but not too much, and making the key info easy to read while downplaying less important info, and ignoring irrelevant info like the exact shape of routes and distances between stops? This new app does the exact opposite. (The old app was almost perfect.) It’s like the designers didn’t even *consider* how actual humans would use the app. There are so many problems, but the difficulty in determining which routes have claimed, and the zooming in when routes are played (which makes it so you can’t easily tell how the new route fits into the map), plus the irrelevant and distracting geographic details are a few good examples.

Good visuals, horrible team play experience. The updates UI has good potential and I can see a lot of effort was put into it. However, as others suggested the colors are very difficult to differentiate from each other. They may make the hoard lol good but I keep finding that the route colors aren’t what I expect when I try to play a route, which should never be a concern. Visuals aside, my family and friends have been playing online T2R since early 2020 and the biggest problem we have with this version is that it requires your friends to all be online and accept invites while the game is being setup. Which, when playing with friends across the world is not viable. As in the other version, we should be able to send and invite and allow those invites to be accepted when they can. The game then starts when everyone accepts the invite. Not supporting this concept is a significant loss in functionality in the game. Notifications are another concern. I am able to turn in some notifications such as invites (which seem to finish within seconds for some reason) but I have yet to see one when it is my turn in a game. I think this version has potential, but the current version is basically a single player game with multi player almost seemingly an after thought. Hopefully more boards will come out soon as the other version of this app had an expansive collection of game variants.

Marmalade has lost their way. Last couple releases by Marmalade have really missed the mark… like what on earth is going on over there. You all started off strong! It’s too bad too because I was so excited for this release. Other people have said it, but this game is visually a nightmare. It’s very challenging to see what’s going - especially once the trains get out there, I’m straining to see what lines are open. The “perspective view” is working against the visuals and the detail on the landscape is a lot visually too. The menus are not the most intuitive (why a separate lobby for async, what if I want to track a friend - not public - and play async with them?). The playable characters are sort of strange brand add- it would honestly be better not having characters at all. The whole thing is just disappointing. and the worst part of all….? The previous app was SO GOOD. Granted, it was getting old, but they really understood what players wanted. It feels like Marmalade really doesn’t understand their audience and their needs. Really too bad cause Ticket to Ride is such a great game.

Not an “improvement” over the earlier version. I was extremely disappointed to learn that my account for the original ticket to ride app game simply wouldn’t “authenticate” any longer. After purchasing the various maps in the old game, now none of them will work anymore (iPhone). I tried this new version (at a cost of $5), and honestly it’s terrible. The user experience is far worse than the older version. None of our data transfers and as a user who purchased many maps in the old version, it will cost $40 to establish the same thing in the new app. Between no communication and no discount, that’s a terrible way to treat existing customers. As for the new experience, it’s just awful. As others have noted, it’s very hard to see your routes or the routes that others have claimed. The new app freezes frequently, and it seems to be impossible to restart paused single player games. My family and friends played the old app every day. I don’t foresee all of us migrating to the new version, especially given the cost. Very disappointing app and rollout, and terrible customer service.

Development build so willing to give it time. EDIT: After getting the regular build, things seem to be much better but I still run into this annoying bug where sometimes you drop a route but the game instead of using the route for your turn instead draws a card and the cards you are trying to drop as the route just keep hanging there. Your turn finishes and in the next turn the “flying” cards drop back down in your deck. Basically you lost a turn for no reason. This needs fixing as this keeps repeatedly happening and you have to quit the game. Lets be honest - the development build sold for $4.99 is terrible. The game is so buggy in its current state. Game hangs sometimes when it’s starting sometimes in the middle of games. The UI still works then but no progress on the game until you reload. The dropping of trains on to the mall sometimes just does nothing, it is very random and keeps wasting time so Blitz version is unplayable. I am willing to give it time and revise this review should they fix the bugs.

Awful Color Scheme - Difficult to look at. I want to like this version of the game. It does seem to have potential (and for that reason I purchase the early bird everything package as a pledge of support), however the single biggest things that make it unplayable to me currently are: 1. Color scheme is VERY difficult to look at it’s like listening to a stereo system that has way too much treble, you might be able to enjoy a couple songs but then listening fatigue rapidly sets in, 2. The animations are far too lengthy and prevent the rapid game play experience many of us have expressed craving (it should be possible to play a skilled human opponent in about 10-15 minutes tops, otherwise I’ll just settle into the original physical board game with my partner instead, 3. The multiplayer system feels like a grab of private data and the system doesn’t even work well and is not resilient in the face of disruptions where the bugs make it impossible to resume. Please focus on these issues, in that order. The first two feel like relatively straight forward low hanging fruit and the third is simply critical. Looking forward to seeing the potential realized and the long time fans and monetary contributors’ needs respected. Thank you and good luck.

New updates difficult with dexterity issues. I find the new updates (with being able to zoom in and out & no more double tapping) is very difficult to work for individuals with dexterity issues and limited finger control. It's much more difficult to choose the correct track and reach confirmation buttons when tracks are at the bottom of the map. Please add an alternate way of zooming in that is not solely the pinch motion. The new updates are making the game that I used to love to play, inaccessible. How do I return to the previous version?

Mostly good, with some frustrating bugs. Overall good implementation of the board game. AI plays a reasonable though not great game. Two flustering bugs I’ve run into several times: first, when all the cards are in the players hands, the AI often hangs. This can be worked around by exiting and then restarting the game but after the fourth or fifth time of doing this, it definitely breaks up the flow and enjoyment of the game. Second, the stations are not always handled correctly and routes that rely on them credited. Sometimes you get the credit sometimes not. Seems to mostly happen when you put a station on a city that only has other players routes and not one of yours. My reading of the rules I should still be able to take one of the other players routes from a station out of the city to a city with one of my routes and complete my overall ticket route, but the computer does not credit me with these.

Such a disappointment. I was so excited for the new version of this game to come out, because the old version stopped working on my phone. The new version is such a disappointment. First of all let’s start with the fact that I have been kicked out of games multiple times and unable to rejoin. When I attempt to rejoin all I see is the map of the US. I was playing a game, and my sister was one of the other players, after multiple attempts to rejoin the game, I finally officially quit the game. The game continued waiting, after I quit, for me to take my turn. Then there are the many times that the game has just frozen. Now let’s talk about the game itself. Why isn’t there a clock? There is a time limit on the game, but no clock to tell players how much time is left in each players time. This is an important aspect of the game. Then there is the board. You can barely tell when someone places trains down, if they place a train down of the same color as the line. It makes it very confusing and difficult at times. Overall this version of the game is awful and I’m not sure why anyone would want to buy it until the bugs have been worked out. Honestly there was nothing’s wrong with the old version, so I’m not sure why the need for a new one except to make more money.

Europe Maps won’t work don’t buy. I loved the old game. This one was hard to adjust to, but I was getting use to it. I purchased the Europe map and played it several times, but now even though I purchased it won’t let me play. It seems the developer is trying to make us purchase the round the world for over $34. I and my husband play most nights, it’s saying we individual purchased the Europe map but won’t load the map, sometimes it says we need to purchase but says something’s gone wrong if we try to repurchase. Why do I want to buy the round the world if I’m not going to use it at a cost over $64 for both of us, and don’t trust that it will load the maps if it won’t load the stand alone Europe we already purchased. Very disappointing.

Great graphics, smooth gameplay, well done. The game looks great. People complaining about the grapics just need glasses, or just zoom in. At a glance i can still see clearly where the pieces lie despite the board busy busy. It is a busy game with a lot of moving pieces and parts, thats the nature of the game Wasnt a waste of money, plays so smoothly. Devs did a great job with the ui to account for all of these moving pieces without sacrificing number of clicks. Things are sized apportiately and pushed to the sites out of the eay of the board. On tinier screens you need more precision to click on what you intend to, but it is doable and i had no struggle with the gameplay. Well done!

Disappointed. My family loved the old version of this app. We were looking forward to this new release but have been disappointed with the following: - We played a lot when we didn’t have internet access. It doesn’t look like the Local feature is available anymore. That significantly reduces our time to play. - The red route markers on top of the red city markers can be difficult to see, especially when playing on a phone. - It would be nice to have the option to turn off the map zooming feature when a train is added to a track. - The train cars could be bigger and brighter. It is sometimes hard to distinguish between a train and an open track. - The way that the score is calculated is much too fast. In the old app it was nice to be able to see each score component and cards added and subtracted. Things we like: - When dragging cards to the map it is nice to see the playable routes highlighted. - Graphics on the map, such as the mountains. We are happy to provide additional details to make the new app better.

Good game but glitchy. I wonder why games don’t generally save. Even if you leave the games for 5-10 min you go back in and it’s gone. You load the saved game and it’s just a blank board like 90% of the time. Also, locks up often and you have to mess around to get it going again. Should keep statistics on games won, etc. most paid games do this. If the bugs get fixed it will be a good game. Also, whatever was done yesterday has basically ruined the game. Glitchy, bouncy graphics, no zooming in as trains are built, trains dropped in random places. The 2/21 update needs to be removed!

How can a game that was once so good get ruined so bad?. Whoever decided to buy the rights to this game and recreate it never played the original! If they had then they would have kept most of its features. Aside from what most people are complaining about which I agree are negatives the biggest glaring issue that is absolutely unforgivable for me personally and makes this virtually unplayable is that there is no timer! That’s right, no individual timer per player! The game says there is but there isn’t. So when someone decides to stop playing there’s no internal mechanism that converts the player to a bot and allows the game to proceed. It’s bad enough that there is no visible clock like in the old game but supposedly this version has an invisible clock - until you play enough to realize no it doesn’t. You game creators should be ashamed of what you’ve destroyed.

Not as fun. I love ticket to ride as a game and loved the old app but this one is having issues. The first time I played with a friend I had to close the app completely multiple times because it didn’t want to work. First it didn’t want to let my friend pick her initial tickets then it didn’t want the first person to start it acted like we hadn’t chosen our tickets then after that it didn’t want to show the ticket pile. Plus I bought the Europe board and it won’t let me play it. I liked being able to play all the boards not just one plus they don’t have any of the expansions for the USA board like the 1910 one which is the most fun for me. Probably won’t be playing for a while until it has more boards available and the glitches are fixed.

Same game; worse UI & color schemes. The game is the same minus there being very few maps available as of right now. But my primary complaint is just that it looks so.. blah. The colors on the map don’t pop on the screen and easily blend into the background. The pins of your cities can only be noticed if you focus. The colors of the train cards are all just… off. They’re almost like a neon holographic color and it gives me a headache trying to stare at them. Lastly, when you draw new train tickets, they cover the other players’ information. Which means you can’t see how many tickets, color cards, or trains they have. All of those things are critical to being a strategic player. They actually only let you see that information when each player takes their turn. So on your own turn, you can’t see anyone else’s stats. I wish they’d de-bug the old game because it was a significantly better experience. I downloaded so many maps on the last app and played everyday. Can’t imagine I’ll be playing this hardly at all.

Great original board game, problems with this app version. It’s frustrating enough to have to purchase a new version of the app after having previously paid for it, but then when the implementation is worse, not better, it feels like a slap in the face to the fans of Ticket to Ride. The animations are far too time consuming and disruptive and there is a serious glitch in the ending of the game where it doesn’t permit you to build a final route in the last round (though the AI players don’t suffer from this glitch). The colors on the map are oddly muted and different from the bright colors of the cards. And the mechanics of viewing your route cards is strange—it doesn’t easily switch to shift routes to have the one you want to see on top, and in Europe routes using a train station do not show on the main view as completed which can be confusing. Why not let us keep our old version? Was Days of Wonder desperate for money? Feels like an insulting cash grab. As far as the

Newer isn’t always better!. I absolutely LOVE ticket to ride. We have the OG and Europe with 1910 and 1912 expansion. When we found out that you could play online, we bought EVERY map on the old version. It was great! Everything was clear and easy to play. This new version is trash! It is entirely too busy. PLUS it glitches so bad. I couldn’t even get through my first game. After a few turns, the cards I played would be stuck on the screen and not register that I had played trains in those designated spots. I will continue playing the old one until it goes offline and then more than likely, stick to the board game unless they make significant improvements to this horrible version.

What the heck!. Curious if this update did anything to fix the game from freezing when playing with friends who aren’t in your household, or on the same wifi? We tried to play the game with friends on Friday night, and we each got one turn then it froze up. Highly frustrating for a game that you pay for. We got the free one called Ride On, and haven’t had a single issue. I was ready to spend the $35 to get the world map, but not when it is now so freakin glitchy. It didn’t start out that way, but the more I play, the worse it gets. Why? As many bad reviews that this app has why hasn’t the problems been resolved? Stop charging for a product that isn’t performing correctly! Fix It!

Fun Game but a Few Additions Would Help. Overall this is a great game that mimics the physical board game well. When I first bought the game, there were some serious issues with the game that have since been resolved. One feature that could be added is a notification when it is someone’s turn on the async mode. Having a notification pop up on my phone or on the app would help speed up async play. Another feature could be a history of wins or a way to track previous games. Maybe add in achievements to make playing the game more worth while. Overall a great game though.

Needs to fix online games asap!. This game is great except for online games. The shortest option for turn times is 7 minutes, no one has the patience to wait around staring at an unmoving screen for 7 minutes while someone goes inactive, and then the game is ruined. There needs to be an option for rapid turns and people who miss their turn being replaced by a bot same as every other similar game. And people should not be able to host games and then leave while people are joining. Games should start immediately when players join, no one should have to wait an extensive amount of time for anyone. Games like this are not made for leave and come back at your leisure turns, please fix this asap.

Needs much work - suggestions. The interface distracts from gameplay. The map has too many distracting color, mountains and zoom in. A key to deeper game strategy is to see everything at once and ponder chess like actions and reactions. No doubt there is a programmer with a wounded ego that still thinks the interface is fine. Fine keep it. But add an option for a “minimal mode”, which I guarantee will generate more excitement than the options for how the characters and trains look. Ticket to Ride is a great game that sells itself. Many have tried to enhance Chess with animations, zooms and flashy visuals…. and those never seem to be the apps anyone really wants instead of an uncluttered interface. Learn from that.

Multiplayer feature effectively doesn’t work. As of Ver 1.0.18 I have been unable to complete a online multiplayer game. Generally you set it up for 4-5 players generally game play seem to be going ok, but before you even reach the halfway point in game play, a player will freeze up and at that point there is nothing you can do, it’s game over. I have tried various things like waiting it out, killing the app and then going back in. When a player freezes up it’s game over there is nothing you can do to fix it. Very frustrating!! Ticket to ride is a great game. I’m sure that you had all sorts of reasons for redesigning it from the ground up rather than just updating the existing game. Here is a little hint: When you have a large online game community that like your game and regularly plays it, before you completely drop support for the current version that actually did work, and release a new version that is untested and doesn’t work, you should pause and ask yourself “is this a good idea”? I think any sane person would answer this question “no, this a terrible idea, let’s not do that to our loyal customers.

Fun but buggy. This game is so addictive and has lots of potential. For this, I did buy the early bird pack to support updates to the play because it has some bugs that need to be fixed asap. Primarily, the issue with the game dealing incorrect cards or not letting you place train cars on the board. Marmalade, I have a screen recording if you want it. In my last game play, I tried several times to place 6 yellow train cars on the board, but it always dealt me cards from the deck when I hit the check, ark to place the cars. Another issue I had in that same game was it dealing incorrect cards. I would choose maybe a white card at the very top of the 5 face up card options, but instead it dealt from the deck. Other times I would choose a certain color card, say green, and was give a different color. Mind you, it didn’t matter the color I choose, it just didn’t deal the correct color. The wild thing was sometimes it dealt a color from the face up pile that wasn’t even a current face up colored card, so it’s not as if your finger may have tapped too high or too low and it dealt the neighboring card. No, it just dealt a random color card instead. Please fix these bugs asap. I lost several areas of the board simply because the game has these bugs. This game will be so awesome if/ when these issues are resolved.

Poor color choices and wasted screen real estate. I bought the game today to see what all the fuss is about in the comments. I won’t play again until I see improvments. As a long time ipad player of the old game, I agree with others about the poor color contrast and choice of colors. These choices make identifying the others players trains on tracks difficult. The background “land” of the USA is too dark, in my opinion. My eyes are fine and I am playing on a late model ipad with 10” + screen. Too much screen space is wasted on the surrounding oceans of North America and the mountains of Canada. Great graphics but, for gameplay, I would prefer a zoomed in view and larger tracks so that I can drop my trains troublefree. Sure, I can zoom — I tried that — but it is glitchy on iPad and doesn’t seem to “pinch” to zoom when and where I expect. In fact, sometimes the gesture seems to do the opposite. Please, look at the old game and understand what long time players are saying about why that board was appreciated. It was flat, it had nicely sized train tracks and the location of other players trains on routes was instantly recognizable.

Promising but incomplete. The game is as fun to play in the app as it is on a table. However, it’s missing several features the older/other digital app version had: namely, the ability to play offline (pass and play), and the ability to play without crashing. There is promise, in terms of new expansion packs to come (I pre-ordered these which should have given me access to Europe- I have access on one device but not the other). There are glitches when inviting a friend to play- if you invite them more than once, they’re told the game no longer exists when they click accept. I still love playing, but will enjoy it more when it’s seamless.

Sad downgrade from the old game. I’ve played ticket to ride online for almost two years, almost every day and I was excited to try this new version. Nothing but disappointment. The graphics are awful, I get nauseous with the movements every time I drop a route. There’s so many unnecessary animations that are distracting from the game. The colors on the cards and trains are really weird and not true to the game. You can’t see the map well at all. When you go to drop your trains you have to line up an arrow directly onto the route. The counting at the end was lacking. I liked in the other game how you could see the cards as they were revealed, it gave satisfaction of knowing where you blocked someone and how the game went. This one just tallies the numbers with no real visual. Overall, I’m SO sad with this game. I want to play the board game online, this is taking it in a really weird direction and it’s really not doing it for me.

Buggy and inconsistent. As long time players of Ticket to Ride, my wife and I love nothing more than curling up for a quick and convenient game every evening. While this app represents the spirit of Ticket to Ride adequately and gets the basic game play right, it’s ridden with technical issues that take away all the aforementioned convenience. Games consistently crash and we are booted out to the game’s lobby. Rejoining games after this has us repeatedly waiting, often just to be disconnected again, to the point of us basically giving up and regretting the $4.99 we spent. Ticket to Ride is a wonderful brand and very fun board game fitting of an equally wonderful app. The execution just falls short, and unfortunately we have moved on to one of the knock off apps instead.

It’s ok. Needs a few improvements.. First off I do enjoy playing it on my down time and it is a good time filler. My two issues are differentiating the trains from the placement on the board. The colors of the trains make it hard to distinguish the routes taken. My other complaint is that the ticket cards have been tapped on accident a couple of times resulting in the current tickets to be cancelled out. There should be a back button or something to cancel out this problem. Many times I have been working on a route, hit the ticket button on accident and the game forcing me to pick new routes. This is very infuriating when I’m working on a route and then foregoing all my hard work and having to restart the game. There needs to be something to prevent this from happening.

DO NOT GET ON A TABLET. Ticket to Ride on iPad is an absolute travesty. It's beyond belief that a game could be so fundamentally broken. Every time I dare to venture into the online mode, it's nothing short of a crash fest. The frustration of meticulously planning my routes, strategizing, only to have the entire experience obliterated by an inexplicable crash is maddening. It's as if the developers carelessly threw together an app riddled with bugs and then turned a blind eye to its utter failure. I've lost count of the times I've patiently attempted to enjoy a game, only to have my efforts dashed by the app's persistent instability. It's a slap in the face to the loyal players who have invested time and money into this game. This is not just a minor inconvenience; it's a blatant disregard for the player experience. The developers need to wake up and realize that this level of unreliability is wholly unacceptable. I demand a solution. Fix this app. It's high time the developers took responsibility for the mess they've created. I'm utterly appalled and deeply dissatisfied with this unmitigated disaster of a gaming experience.

Regrettable Downgrade from a Beloved App. I am compelled to express my disappointment with the recent rebuild of the Ticket to Ride app. The original app, known for its stability and enjoyable gameplay, has unfortunately been overshadowed by a new version that fails to live up to its predecessor. The most disheartening aspect is the removal of expansions that loyal users had already purchased. To regain these expansions, users are now expected to pay an exorbitant sum of $35. This not only undermines the value offered by the original app but also disregards the investment of long-standing players. In terms of usability, the new version is a step back. The interface, though visually appealing, is less user-friendly and intuitive, making the game more difficult to navigate and enjoy. This shift towards a flashy yet less functional design is a major drawback. A critical point to note is that while the old app is still operational for existing users, its online multiplayer functionality, a vital component of the game, has been disabled. This effectively diminishes the playability and enjoyment of the app for those who preferred the original version. In conclusion, this update has significantly detracted from the Ticket to Ride experience. It’s disconcerting to witness a well-loved game lose its essence and playability. As an avid player, I hope for a return to the quality and customer consideration that once made this app a favorite.

All of the negative reviews are true. You’ll see the “developer response” to a lot of the negative reviews dating back to December saying they’re taking feedback and making improvements. Today an update rolled out that seems even MORE buggy than the prior iteration, which had plenty of bugs itself. As a software engineer myself, I have to ask how is an “update” like this able to be pushed live? It almost seems like instead of taking time to test the product themselves before pushing a stable version, they push an update for “better logging” and are using us paying customers as their test. If we have to pay money to use an app, the customer should expect to be given a quality, usable product, not this garbage that has been inconsistent and crashing since day 1.

Fun game, incredibly buggy app. So bad that I requested a refund.. The game itself is fun. It’s a shame the app is so unbelievably buggy. Hangs & crashes happen regularly, and I’ve learned to just kill the app after every game because it usually hangs anyway. Just now, it hung while I was in the middle of placing a train and, as a result, I found it had dropped the train in the wrong place when it finally recovered. It’s hard to enjoy the game when something happens almost every time you play. And it’s *very* power hungry. This is the only app I have seen that will drain the battery _while it is plugged into a charger_ (!). Sorry, but this needs a complete overhaul. Until then, I want my money back because this game is unplayable in its current form.

WORST GAME MAKEOVER EVER. Wow. I never leave negative reviews as I usually try to just give people credit when do. But this is unbelievable. The previous ticket to ride version of the game was great. I have literally zero good or better improvements to this game. It is awful. I couldn’t even finish my first game. For the example you literally can barely see your routes that you’re trying to connect with trains on the map. Even when you’re trying hard to find your trains, the route cards you choose, are so tiny and hard, see that you don’t know what routes you’re choosing, there’s no timer, the map looks like it never changes cause you don’t know who’s routes are where or what routes or cities you’re trying to reach. It is, such a bummer I love this game and I want my money back immediately for this new version. I don’t get it the new developers. Why would you take over a game if you’re not even trying to make money or make a good product product that was already good. honestly I’m so confused. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WAIT FOR THIS VERSION TO FAIL AND NEW DEVELOPER TO UNDO NEW MISTAKES

Ruined a great game. Unfortunately they appear to have ruined what used to be my all-time favorite online game. There was nothing at all wrong with the original classic version. It was fun to play, visually appealing, true to the classic board game, and easy to follow and navigate game play. The new version is much too busy, with a game play board that is too small, has no timer, is plagued by far too much extraneous animation, and has very difficult to follow visuals that do not enhance game play in any way. Instead of being super fun to play like it used to be, the new version gives me a migraine/makes me seasick every time I try to play. Engaging with other players in online games (the best part of TTR) doesn’t seem to work at all. It would go a long way if there was an option to choose the classic interface and/or the old version continues to be supported for those of us that invested good money in the original game and associated maps. Thank you!

Miss old Ticket to Ride. Not sure why the old Ticket to Ride decided to stop supporting their app; thus far this new Ticket to Ride is a big step backwards. At $5, currently the game isn’t worth it. The map itself is hard to see. For whatever reason a large part of unused land is shown in Canada and Mexico. The train/track placement is cumbersome and slows the game down. There aren’t many players in the system, maybe many don’t know the old T2R was replaced. When I play online, not sure if people are slow, but you have no idea what is going on. The good news is improvements will be easy to come by. Make the map more readable. Make train placement easier, no need for anything fancy, just lay the track down and be done with it. Put a timer for each turn. Not the biggest deal, the background music isn’t good.

Horrible. We’ve been playing ticket to ride since the app first came out. It has been a nightly family tradition. When my wife got a new phone last month the last version of the app wouldn’t work anymore. When we paid for the new app and downloaded it, the set up to play with each other on Bubble didn’t work. You can’t easily do what was called Local Play. When we try to play solo the graphics are impossible to read, the playing board is hard to use. The old feature of pass and play is not available. The developer should not have messed with such a good thing. This was the third time I’ve paid for a new version of the app but I want a refund. Looks like it’s time for a new family game. So sad.

So disappointed. I LOVE ticket to ride, my mom and I would play daily multiple times and we both loved playing in general in our free time. I was nervous about it being redone because it was already so good! I bought every map on the old one and have felt like I got my moneys worth out of it. This one I don’t. It makes me so sad to think when the old one shuts down I won’t get to play anymore. The way it keeps throwing you out randomly, you can’t see your route, even seeing my trains on the board is an issue…it’s all too small. I hate that I can’t turn off the animation, it takes forever to play one game and I don’t have that much time normally. You can’t see if your friends are online to play with, you don’t have a ranking to check out your competition, you can’t chat with your friends in game, and so much more. 😭 the only thing I like is my character and choosing a color was easy. Save your money. Please developers just put it back like it was!! Functional and efficient is so much better than pretties and animations.

Subpar re-casted and needless downgrade. The original version of this classic board game still works (but was pulled from the App Store - and I still had to pay full price for this watered down version, as well) and is far better in nearly every aspect! Except that it wasn’t built from the ground up to monetize, gather player demographic information, and pepper you with promotions to buy more needless upgrades, upsells and add-ons that get in the way of enjoying what is … still … a great game underneath. It’s the ensh*tification of the App Store (and great digital versions of excellent cardboard classics now owned by their ham fisted, consolidating IP consolidators looking to squeeze out every last nickel). Total cash grab. More observations versus the original iOS version: downgraded graphical interface (with lower contrast and less pop), slower game play (no, I don’t want to watch the magic deck reshuffle itself every time it happens!), simplified and unimpressive audio design, clunkier (and somewhat yet cleaner) interface with less personality. Pros: No crashes.

Phone is hotttt. After many years and thousands of online games with the other app, I’m doing my best to adjust… A real issue is while playing 1 online game, my phone got so hot I had to shut it off for awhile. I don’t have any other games that cause this. Also, placing the trains is very touchy, especially on the small routes. Had a couple of turns where the time ran out because I couldn’t get it “just right”. Online lobby: If someone lists a game as being 4-player, they should be made to wait for 4 people, and not force a start with only 2. It’s a whole different game with 2, and some people don’t like to play that way. Now it’s a risk that someone will force you into it. Some cosmetic suggestions: The map is very busy. It’s a bit stressful to keep track of where my needed routes are with all of the color and art (it’s beautiful, but makes the game harder). Just a picky opinion, but the end of the game where it shows everyone’s completed routes is not as clear and satisfying as the old game. Love the old comparison model where you see it tally up, especially when you blow someone out of the water haha. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful. This used to be such a wonderful way for me to pass the time, but in its current state, I can’t play it anymore…

Total CRAP!. I want a refund. This “update” of the app by Marmalde is just unbelievably bad. Somehow they’ve managed to downgrade every feature of the original, turning one of my favorite games into a useless waste of time and money. The game board is illegible, your destinations are impossible to see, the routes taken by others are equally bad, the animation is distracting, there’s no timer so you can’t tell if another player is slow or if the game has hung (and it hangs a lot!), the card colors are hard to distinguish, and the number of cards and colors in your hand is virtually unusable. Who designed this?!? And then there are the random changes they’ve made from the original, like putting your wild cards on the left of your hand rather than your right. Yes, a relatively inconsequential change, but why?!? And don’t get me started on how the game sometimes hangs and you can’t even swipe away from it—you actually have to restart your phone!!! I hate having to write such a bad review—but this game is absolutely NOT WORTH BUYING! In fact, it wouldn’t be worth it even if it was free. AVOID.

Frequently Lose Connectivity. This game has the framework to be really fun, and is mostly smooth when playing with AI players. However, when playing in multiplayer mode, I frequently get kicked out of the game and get a message saying I’ve lost connectivity. I try to reconnect to the game but it will bring me to a blank game board instead of taking me back to a game board showing all the routes that have already been placed. It is very frustrating because you can’t finish the game. As a single player game playing against AI, it is fun, but my husband and I were excited to buy this game so that we could play against eachother and unfortunately most games we just end of not being able to finish them due to this bug in the game. Please create an update to fix this issue!

Missing Feature. I was hopeful with the new update but disappointed again. The feature where local players could play local players without being online with all of the issues that come with playing online is the primary reason we enjoyed this app. Without this feature I find the app only useful for playing the computer. Very disappointing. Our family misses playing together and not being able to do that leaves us looking for other things to play. Other features seem nicely done, but without this feature I am not getting the value I thought I would get by purchasing this app.

AI solo mostly okay, the online experience is getting worse. This is my absolute favorite board game. I’ve played it for years. Really want this app to work, especially for multiplayer online, but the fixes/updates keep making it worse. I (try to) play a few games each day and haven’t been able to finish an online multiplayer game in a few days now. The game will break mid-game, usually. Or worse, get to the very end then not actually tally up everyone’s score. Rough, rough experience. I know the devs are working hard to correct the glitches, but why did we release it when it was so buggy to begin with? I’m not giving up hope just yet, but the bugs/glitches that have been going on since I started playing the game upon its release continue to make the experience frustrating and not sure how much longer I can stick with it.

Terrible. There is no way this game has an overall average rating of 4 stars. It is an abysmal rebuild of a formerly great app. The current development team took a game that had 75 to 100 players online at all hours of the day, ruined every single aspect of the game, and are now charging $5 for a new shiny version that has fewer maps, no ranking system, harder to see/read game elements, and a more confusing setup. And the kicker: IT DOESNT EVEN WORK. I’ve tried to play 8 or 10 games. Only once have I made it to the end without it crashing or freezing in the middle of the game. There is not a single redeeming quality of this new version, other than it looks ‘fancier’. It is not worth $5, and it definitely isn’t worth the two hours that I’ve wasted trying to finish more than one, single, frustrating game.

Nothing like the. This is such a frustrating game. I was an avid player of the old game until it stopped working on me. I would play with my husband and friends often. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, the old version, but then and it disappeared on me, saying the old version was no longer supported and couldn’t be re-installed. Boy was I missing it. Then, this version came out-I was so excited. However, I have actually only been able to play one game successfully. The rest of the time it just sits there. I try to join games and minutes go by just sitting seeing the other players (we have all four ready to go) with a message “waiting for host to start game”. What?!? Beyond not being able to get started, so much is missing from the old version. Where are the player rankings? It was nice to know the level of players you were playing and choose opponents or games you want to join accordingly. When you are playing the game, you can’t see how many destination cards or color cards your opponents have unless it is their turn. The 3D map is hard to read- the colors on it are distracting and confusing. The colors of the train cards are off and aren’t easy to distinguish. This needs some major improvements to make it even playable, let alone come close to the vibrant player community and game functionality that the other version had. What a waste of money.

No Pass and Play. My girlfriend and I enjoy playing ticket to ride, but since the game is only really fun with 3+ people, I got this hoping that we could both play together and have an AI or two fill in. But they only let you use this bubble thing and she doesn't also want to have to pay for it. Especially because you only get the U.S. included which is significantly worse than Europe. I think the pricing would make more sense if you got Europe included (since that really is the base game) and then could pay the extra 7 dollars they'd charge just for Europe for all the other expansions, heart of Africa, 1912, etc. I realize the game just released, but this feels like more of a cashgrab than a real viable alternative to the boardgame. I will be requesting a refund from Apple.

So so sad. This is nothing like the old app. I was so excited because the original App has many bugs but goodness this one is so much worse. I wish you guys would fix up the old app. I’ve spent so much money buying maps and now you expect us to buy more maps and an app that is so bad. I have to zoom in to see anything, routes aren’t easily visible, card colors are off. The app doesn’t let you pick times and the waiting for hosts to play the game is a painfully long wait. This is really really sad. Please fix the old app. The graphics are much better. Watching the train cars go down when your opponent makes a move is painfully slow and confusing. It just makes me dizzy. Truly disappointing. I expected better.

Released too early. Online games glitchy and drops out more often than not. Missing lots of functionality vs original game eg rankings and ability to set a minimum level for opponents, replacing players with bots if they take too long, being able to ignore players. Map hard to read. Makes me wonder if developers played or used original game? It’s like they are focusing on the things that don’t matter vs what users value.

Amazing & Fun, but double check before buying!. Nice reimagining of the classic board game, UI is a lot smoother and the tickets and route options much more friendly and visual to understand! (Especially in the tutorial for new users not used to TTR) Didn’t realise that the $7.99 for the game was JUST for North America map and not the standard Europe one (despite description not saying Europe was an expansion). Would’ve been great to choose the option when first purchasing as I would’ve liked Europe instead, but for an extra $10.99 not sure if it’s justified!

Terrible pricing. It’s 8 AUD to download the app, which is already a lot. Then when you enter only the USA and Europe map is available to you, and the Europe map costs 11 AUD. Overall would be spending 20 bucks for two maps with slow gameplay (no need to reinvent the wheel!) whereas the previous application had every map (bar Japan, Italy, the Old West, and the city maps) available to you for only $2 each.

Great fun game. This is a great game for if your bored and need to play a fun game but the maps are very expensive and the Europe map is very expensive so I’d like if you would make it cheaper than the game.

Disappointing Change to Ticket to Ride App. We’re long term users of the old ticket to ride app. To include another member in our games we’ve all downloaded the new app and paid for the maps. I have three main griefs with the new app. 1) paying AGAIN for the maps that I had in the original app - this is really poor and started me off on the new app with a bad taste 2) the constant bugs, stalling and ceasing game play. A game without a software crash is a rarity. 3) the bubble login?? I can’t figure out how to have my same profile on two devices! Bubble won’t let me login on my second device, just requires me to make a new profile, so I can’t answer friend invites in either device There’s a few other things I miss from the old app that would be nice to be incorporated in this one. 1) in-game chat with your friends 2) more visible tunnelling routes at zoom out 3) a ranking/award system I enjoy the graphics, I think they’re a bit over the top, but that’s my personal taste.

Hard to read the screen. The original was much easier to tell the difference between colours for train tracks and tellibgbun-taken tracks from taken ones. Love if there was a “simple interface” option that dumped the background and simplified the colours.

Ticket to ride. It is difficult to see the trains laid on the screen, sound effects are boring, would like to see the map as the final scoring is completed. At this point, can’t figure out how to play with a friend online.

So glitchy and worse than original. I deleted The old Game to try to rectify glitches and ended up having to pay for this much worse version. I had all the different maps Europe, Asia etc and now I have only USA! I refuse to pay even more for this when there are glitches in over 50% of the games I play. The graphics are tacky and heaps worse than original. I wish I hadn’t deleted my old app. 🥹

Better than the older version. It smoother running and all the graphics looks amazing. But I really wish they could have an award system. So for every game you one you get points added to your profile .. also having to compete either online or with AL you get awards. Would make the game interesting instead of just playing the game. I would recommend you buy the “whole lot” as a first up instead of adding it eventually..

Nowhere near as good as the original ,,!!. Had the original version and have loved playing it as a “pass and play” game with family members. New version is a rip off - just wants you to keep paying extra for everything. Can’t find a “pass and play”for just 2 players so we I can play on just 1 computer. A waste of money in my opinion as I don’t want to play against AI, or someone else on another IPad.

Best game ever!!. So worth the money. Do wish the Europe map was free.

Detailed graphics make game play difficult.. The colours are hard to distinguish and I miss the flat board game look of the last app.

Infinitely worse than the original. As an avid player of the original Ticket to Ride app I am incredibly disappointed in this new version. The 3D is distracting and looks tacky. The original version retained the charm of the original board game (variety of maps, art style, placement of map on the screen etc.) these maps are difficult to read due to the addition of 3D elements (seeing the city markers is quite difficult) and the animations are distracting and look cheap. This was a game I thoroughly enjoyed playing in the past but I find it far too visually busy and keep going back to an old iPad to play the maps I previously purchased on the old version (which is no longer supported so I cannot buy the rest of the maps on the older version, a heads up to this effect would have been appreciated). I hope in future the developers allow new purchases in the old version of the app so that I have a playable version of Ticket to Ride somewhere.

Disappointed. I was excited to play this game online with my friend but her version is not comparable with this new version. Also, when I bought the ticket around the world, it only has NA and Europe! What happened to all the other older games such as Swizerland, India, Japan. I would really like to request a refund because I can’t connect with my friend.

Multiplayer mode keeps freezing up. Multiplayer mode keeps freezing up. Unable to complete a game.

Terrible app. The old app worked. Wasted over an hour with this and have not managed to have a game open that allowed everyone to pick there destinations. Don’t waste your time or money.

Buggy. Despite the recent update a number of the most annoying bugs are still present. When you go to play a route half the time the game picks up cards instead and the cards you selected for the route stay up bugged out on the screen. Most of the time you are stuck picking up cards for the rest of the game. Similarly when you select new tickets sometimes it will select both new tickets and draw cards from the deck in the same turn. Two player games will allow more than 2 people to join and if you start the game with a third person unready then it usually bricks the game while the game tries to replace that third player with a computer.

When you think it can’t be worst. New update won’t even let you in the app… it’s been 2 months of glitch and bugs now.

Difficult to see. Routes are hard to see

A change for the worst. This new version of the game may look better, but what a disapointing game. Settings for creating games were better in the previous version.

Crash. App keeps crashing mid game… kind of frustrating, and can’t go back to the game!

Still can’t play live games. It constantly freezes. Playing against AI is good. Great game if it works.

Freezes constantly. Often freezes I like the look though

Horrible. Game keeps crashing during mid game and when I try to reload it, it shows me just the map and my game doesn’t come up.

Why wreck a good thing?. I am so disappointed in this app. The developers and Days of Wonder took an almost perfect thing and destroyed it. Here are all the reasons this app received 1 star. 1) I had to repurchase it to play online. As an avid player for years this infuriates me. 2) No statistics of games played. 3) Map is hard to read - lots of wasted space on the screen. 4) Routes are hard to claim in comparison to previous game. 5) No timer visible during game play. 6) Game continues too many rounds after player places last train. 7) Animations slow down pace of the game and cheapens the entire experience. Overall - I don’t know who tested this game and what feedback you received but you spoke to the wrong people and not the avid players. You have my money now and chances are you don’t care but please do better.

Game not working online. Game doesnt work online. I have iPhone Pro Max 15, latest iPhone update, and it keeps freezing when I start an online game. Asking for a refund

Don’t buy unless you want the game to play for you!. This is the worst app. The game glitches all the time and starts randomly doing moves for you. When I try and place a train it gives me a random train card and then places my train a few turns later. Tried to play three different games with a friend and only able to finish one the other two froze and we had to quit the game. Don’t waste your money until they get all the bugs fixed.

Don’t pay them money!. I’ve been playing original ticket to ride online game for a while and hoped this new app will fix many original app problems and have a nicer modern look. Was I ever wrong?! New app is much worse. No player ratings or stats, no filter by player ratings. Confusing game initiation process. No game clock! Players can sit out the entire game and not being replaced by bot. Terrible overcrowded map graphics. Train colors and route colors confusing. I’m struggling to tell if the route occupied without zooming in. Players can’t chose their colors. And the worst one by far is change of rules: players draw from 3 tickets on USA map and only one long ticket given to choose from on Europe map. This killed the game for me. Initial tickets selection is one of the important parts of game strategy which doesn’t exist in this version of the game. I want my money back!

Way worse than original. No mega maps and they took a game that had no flaws and made it way worse.

December Reviews still apply. I read the reviews about glitching and game freeze and those reviews are true. Paid $7.50 for this game and I keep restarting my iPad to start over when problems happen mid-game. Frustrating to be midway through a game and it just stops! Or it starts playing for you and you can’t control it yourself?! Fix it!!! Can’t be #1 with bad reviews like these.

Frustrating. My partner and I both bought the app to play together and it is so incredibly frustrating! It’s a nice looking game and the gameplay is authentic but it’s impossible to play a game all the way through because it invariably stalls at some point and you have to quit. Only works on single-player against AI. Don’t waste your money.

Feedback. Would like to see more maps. Also more characters in the game or even if we could make our own. Otherwise good game and addicting.

What happened to local play?. Pretty disappointed with this purchase. I used the previous version to play locally on my iPad around a table with friends. To my shock this version doesn’t have that. Good thing I didn’t buy the other maps. Please add local play! And I’ll give u 5 stars.

Glitchiest game out there. This was a complete waste of money. I bought this to play with my brother. It glitches every single turn, having to reload over and over again. DO NOT BUY IT. Just play the board game.

Good game if you play against the computer. The game is well made and works fine when you play against the computer, although it’s easy to win every time even at the « hard » level. Playing online against other humans is painful. You have to wait so long before the opponents join and the host starts the game. Moreover , there is no ranking system when you win/lose.

Awful. 1) map background graphic was unnecessarily colourful, making the routes difficult to see and confusing. Less is more. 2) why is everything so small? Screen space is not fully 100% utilized, lots of “blank”/ unused space which can be reduced to make map/ fonts/ routes larger and easier to look at 3) the counting of points at the end of the game was not clear. ***please take a look at the old version and why people enjoyed it. This is a huge step back.

Total waste of money. My wife and I have been avid players of the original online version for years. We just bought the new version and haven’t been able to complete one single game because the app keeps on freezing midway through the game. Why change a game that was working pretty well? Players of Ticket to ride are not Fortnite gamers; they are boardgame players who couldn’t care less about 3d. Wondering if the people at Marmalde ever hear about the concept of market research? (Giving it 1 star rating because I am forced to).

It's crazy how much the game crash. So many glitches and game crashes every time. The update on this game made it worst. Also older version was way better to play.

Very glitchy. Freezes mid game. Even restarting does not fix the issue.

No offline multiplayer mode. I wound up redownloading this favourite game that I play weekly with my fiancée to my new iPad to only find out there is no multiplayer offline mode. This is very disappointing as we were planning on playing it together over our vacation. The new graphical interface and game play is busy and detracts from the amazing clean and simple previous version.

Major Issues. Cannot complete a game online.

Il bogue. Pas facile de jouer en ligne Il redémarre tout seul pendant une partie et on ne peut pas continuer Et Il bogue tous le temps pas facile de finir une partie

Disappointed. I love the game so much but the game keep on freezing and crashing so it’s really disappointing. You should do something cause it’s not a free app.

Unbelievably buggy. Unable to play on line with friends or in a group, got top cards when selecting face up tickets. The old game worked well without any issues. This one is unplayable and costs not warranted. Do not recommend purchasing. Buyer beware.

Online Play Doesn’t Work. I would love to give this app 5 stars, because when playing solo with computers it’s flawless. However, trying to play online with strangers or online with my husband is a total failure. Games either fail to start or my husband and I get booted for “connection issues” after a round or two. The worst is when I get booted from a game towards the very end. Not a problem on my end as every other app I’m using has no issues with my internet connection except for this game. Please fix the online play, I love this game and want to play it online instead of only with computers!

Where is the refund button?. The app use to be good… used to be. Forced upgrade to a paid version and can’t finish a game without multiple crashes or hanging. I want my money back and the old app back.

Super buggy. Great game. Too many bugs. Game crashes in the middle of multiplayer games, game glitches and selects cards when you’re trying to play trains, a bunch of idle multiplayer games are in the lobby. Unfortunately doesn’t seem like the game was ready and was rushed out. Shouldn’t charge folks until the game is generally reliable. You’ll find yourself more frustrated trying to have one full game online - it’s an impossible task.

Super glitchy. On the rare occasion that I actually get an online game where the host starts the game, it’s really glitchy examples include: I can see the map but get no cards etc, it gets stuck on an AI player after someone leaves the game, on my turn but I can’t actually play (though the cards react to being touched, I can’t pick them up or play a train). Super disappointing, especially in an app that’s paid for.

New update is worse. Can’t play online at all. Crashes all the time. For a game you pay to play, you expect a lot better.

online doesn’t work; app crashes all the time. I am excited about the potential for this new version of the game. I like the presentation and even the music is nice. I find the placed routes are more challenging to identify at a glance (usually need to zoom in to confirm) and there should be an option for 2D or some easier option to see trains. Finally, the online games don’t work. I’ve tried a realtime and asynchronous game and both failed to load once joined. It just says “waiting for other players to play their turn” and often the user interface doesn’t load. I don’t get notifications re: my turn and there isn’t an option to approve or edit notifications settings in the game. I even had offline games fail to load and the game crashes. I hope it can be updated regularly. I won’t invest in additional maps until I can trust the game will work as intended.

Disapointed. I was a big fan of the older version. This new app ruins totally the fun. Too much animation, dificult to select road, colors hard to see. A huge step back. I quit playing this game. Don’t loose your money and do the same!

Not The Same Online Experience!. This online game is inferior to the previous version. Freezes frequently and does not enjoy the same functionality or features of the old online game. Very disappointing…

The new version is no good. The new version has the following issues: 1) visually, the selected missions for each player is not very clearly visible with the drop pins 2) visually, sometimes you cant identify the difference between a color route (yellow for example) and yellow wagons of a player 3) there s no skip option after you complete any mission 4) there is no timer for friends invitation games 5) number of available wagons, tickets and missions is not easily visible for all players. We have to keep clicking on every player everytime to see this info 6) players keep getting kicked out of the game randomly. Overall, the updated version is not user friendly at all.

Sadly disappointing, missed the mark on an epic game. I have played the previous release of this app for more then 5 years, and you have missed the mark on a re-release focusing on items that don’t add to the gameplay for the user. I don’t need to see trains “fly” into place on the board, these animations are unnecessary and slow down the game. An option to turn this off would be beneficial. I don’t need the board to zoom in and out when pieces are played, I need a board that I can see during game play. The text font is too small to read. The board is too cluttered. The route markers are hard to decipher and blend in with the rest of the board. The expansion prices are ridiculous, the previous cost for the Europe expansion was $3-4, but 10.99 for the expansion is crazy, and $50 for expansions that have not even been developed yet, when previously I purchased all the expansions for less then $20 is insane. Get back to the basics of the game play which is what players want. We don’t need fancy graphics. We need a game that runs in a reasonable time and doesn’t waste time watching animations. Very disappointing

Why did you change it!. The layout is so Bad. The cards, information boards and maps are so small. We used to play the other version almost every nights, and we played 3 minutes and deleted the game. AFTER PAYING A 2nd time for it, Since we had purchased the last version and they just went offline! Really bad business idea!,!,

Good game, issues with online play. Very fun and addicting game. Much faster then playing the board game. Would give it 5 stars but the app constantly freezes up while trying to play with friends. Tried different internet connections and devices with same issue. Hopefully just a bug that will be fixed in later update.

Multiplayer still impossible to finish. Online with friends is still not working after the new update and frustratingly boots out players or freezes when nearing the end of the game. Definitely think twice before paying the 7+ dollars for this one.

Good game\ update needed though. Good game but a few glitches, when paying for something it would be nice to see a fix and update asap. Glitch I see is train stations not working on European version. Haven’t tried anything online, only played AI players. Hope they fix asap

New app does not work. I have not been able to complete one full game. This app is more expensive then the last app that actually worked. Highly disappointed.

Not impressed. We just bought this one as the old version expired and we had to rebuy it. It is so much harder to see the trains/routes on the map compared to the old game and we were disappointed in the tallying of the points at the end. Very anticlimactic as you can’t even see the routes and the points go. Wouldn’t have bought.

Seems to be running better. My partner and I have played multiple games and I have only experienced bugs in one game. The card I selected wasn’t the card that was placed in my hand. Other than that, it has been seamless. It’s much easier to hop on our phones vs getting the board game and all the pieces out. The AI function is nice for now because the game seems to have relatively low player base for some reason. Good game, will continue to play.

Getting better. The online issues seem to be fixed so that’s good. Now just fix the layout of the board and the trains being laid down. It’s not easy to see and navigate. Something needs to be done on the graphics. Maybe a simpler color scheme? Last thing is for Async play.. please add a feature to this where I can play with friends and not the public. We’d like to play over an extended period of time as we’re all pretty busy. Thanks.

Accessibility nightmare. The new map is so hard to read, especially on an iPhone (vs an iPad). The tilted view, the overly detailed and colored map, the way that it’s hard to tell which spaces have trains on them or not… the numbers on the cards for having more than one of a color are so tiny they are almost unreadable on a phone screen. Please offer a “simple” map option where at least the background can be flattened to a plain color?? I used to play the old version daily and I can’t even get through a single game on this one without getting a headache.

Original=Easy to look at and faster play. Just bought this again to play with the family because we couldn’t get the old one anymore. Now have a headache due to the colors and smaller size... The bigger size and brighter colors and faster play on the original was so much better. We are disappointed we had to buy this again & even more disappointed with the issues mentioned by others... needs to be crisper like the old one, less busy. Please.

Launch Fail. So disappointed by this version. And the loss of the original, which was far superior. This version has better graphics, but they almost make it too busy. It’s hard to tell where your trains are or even what color you are. It’s glitchy, clashes, and after allowing me to play the Europe maps for several games it’s now asking me to pay for it. Which is fine except the pay process blows up. So wish the old version was still available. I had all the maps- what a waste.

Problematic asynchronous games. As far as I can tell, the only way to start an asynchronous game with friends is to make a public asynchronous game and hope your friends join first. The old game allowed you to invite friends only and play asynchronously. When we did get an asynchronous game going, things were going great until at some point it became my turn. The game indicated that it was my turn, but I couldn’t perform any actions at all (draw cards, draw tickets or play trains). After restarting the game, trying at different times over a 24+ hour period, I finally gave up and resigned. My bot replacement also failed to take a turn, so my friends could not complete the game. I did succeed at a solo game and the gameplay was fine. I hope the asynchronous gaming issues get addressed soon.

Online game glitches ruin experience. The local play is great and the AIs are decent to play against, but the online play glitches so much that it’s hard to even make it through an entire game without the app freezing or being kicked from the game. Its immensely frustrating to be halfway through a game and then just be unable to continue. I love the game, but not sure how long I’ll be able to keep playing given the connectivity glitches.

Don’t rush the redo. I get it, mobile gaming is a biggest cash cow for established studios, but come on people. You clearly rushed this and it shows. No one that played the old version could have possibly said this was ok during beta testing. You listened to no one, took our money on a trusted product, and then make weak responses like you’re listening to these mistakes like it’s new game IP. I’d literally buy all the content of this game was even a passable playable TTR game. You tricked us, but it’s all good I won’t fall for it again.

Why am I being charged multiple times?. Was informed that once I Purchased a pass for all the maps and upgrades that I would not be charged again. Then the game stopped working. Then when I was able to upload, the new version was charged again. And now being asked to purchase the maps, I had already purchased in the past. This is clearly not the way to build customer allegiance, or brand loyalty. I did notice in comments that others have been submitting claims to the software development company and receiving credits. How does one start this process?

Very Buggy Game. Please fix the bugs for an app that we pay for. 9/10 games glitch out and can’t be finished. Sometimes at the start and sometimes at the end, both equally frustrating! Game is great otherwise when can actually be played. Update as of 02/06 - still broken! Fix the dang game! Good lord, absolutely ridiculous and reaching scam levels. Wouldn’t recommend wasting the $5 as of today. They clearly don’t care and the bugs make 9/10 unplayable. Wish a better alternative existed as this group does not deserve to be charging for this app.

All the energy in flashy opening page. This is such letdown in comparison to the original online game. 1. The flashy graphics and pins coupled with the map being so zoomed out makes it difficult to land trains. 2. The rules change for scoring when placing trains makes the game one sided as now just cities and not route to cities is the only way to score points. 3. It is difficult to play with friends as the invitee must be poised to invite when the other player is ready and may have to invite over and over until both players are on the same screen. 4. This is just personal preference, but the character animation is creepy.

Fun to play. It’s a great game i haven’t had any issues with the game. I play the board game with my family all the time. It would be nice if the company made the ticket to ride rails and sails one for the phone and iPad I definitely enjoy playing that board game with my family more than just the ticket to ride one and I know I would play the rails and sails one if they had it for the phone and iPad all the time.

Visually Horrible. I was so excited for the rerelease of this game. I was a daily player before. They have done way too much to try to make this game graphically appealing. It’s almost impossible to see the routes that have already been played at a glance because the map is far too busy. It really impacts strategy. I can’t imagine playing this game as someone who is visually impaired or color blind. I would highly encourage the developers to make an option to simplify the graphics for better visualization. This game is almost unplayable for me now. I was ready to repurchase all the expansions, but I’m glad I played a game first because I don’t think I will until something is fixed.

Significantly worse than previous version. Don’t understand why so many changes were made from the old version. This game is a major step back visually, don’t overcomplicate something that was great before. Would love to see these maps have an option to not have the geography in the background. White backgrounds would be better. Scoring of the tickets at the end is also way too fast and doesn’t show on the map the route used to complete. Old version accomplished this perfectly.

Freezes and glitchy. I have played about 15 games today…here is what I noticed. About 10 of the 15 games it freezes before completion. Sometimes on my turn it won’t let me pick a card. Often if I create a game of three people if and 4 sign up it and doesn’t close after the 3rd spot is filled it will let 4 people play…unless that person says not not ready. If I create a game of three I want three not four. Sometimes it was within 3 train cars and the whole game FREEZES. This is maddening. I love this game…but unless this is figured it makes me not want to play…and people should be refunded because honestly you can keep playing with a game like this

It’s BACK. I have to think that on a IPhone this would be worth the bad reviews but on my 7th gen IPad I am having no troubles. The animation can be speeded up but some will still dislike it I don’t know what to say. My only question is: how long will the rollout be for future expansions. I won’t pay for the package if I have to wait years to see most of it.

This Requires QA Testing. Bought this new version after the previous one stopped working. I cannot get past “waiting for other players” when trying to play a friends match with my husband who created a bubble account as well. Might be back to this game if the developer runs more testing and fixes what appears to be multiple issues maybe with device interoperability. We are using an iPad Mini version 4 and an iPhone 14 to try and play this friends match. Launched from either device doesn’t work. The closest we got was selecting routes but that was when we chose 3 AI bot to play with us, still stuck “waiting for other players”

Great potential, and fun when it works. This is a game we have in a physical version. We also had a former app version of the game that is no longer supported. I purchased that app as well as all the expansions, so I was super disappointed to discover that it was no longer available for my long-distance family to purchase so we could play. We got this one, and nearly every time I log in to play with my family online, we have “issues connecting to the lobby” or the game stalls out, or we get booted for no reason. This is super frustrating, but especially exasperating since this isn’t a free app!!!

NOT THE SAME…... This game is way worse than the original. The original app definitely wasn’t the best, but it was way easier to use than this new app. The colors and graphics are weird, I like the concept, but it feels like the app isn’t finished. The other game was WAY better, bring back the other app. This is clunky and hasnt worked well trying to connect online with friends and the ASYNC mode. It is very glitchy with the graphics and we dont like the look of it. We LOVE the other Clue and Monopoly games that Marmalade has done, so we have hope for this game. But its frustrating when the other game already worked so well.

Glitchy. Had it for a day, not a fan. The system has froze twice in 24 hours. Players are given a bank for 15 for the whole game which I like, but should be less per term because when players rage quit, 15 minutes of nothing is an eternity. There is no way to see their timer either. Also no way to communicate players even through emojis. No way to boot a player on a you created. And the Europe board is insanely over priced. If you are going to charge this much make sure your app works day in and day out.

Where is mega?. I agree with the issues with suddenly getting kicked from the game. I’m nor sure why this happens. I play solo with robots and they are definitely getting smarter. It took a while to get preferences right to allow enjoyment of the game. The animations slow everything down but I was able to speed them up. The game board is too small. One track spots are too hard to see when obscured by route markers. I was a player of the old game and I really miss mega—it is definitely my favorite. Please add it in.

needs to track stats. I think a great addition would be to track your alltime online wins and losses as well as some sort of ranking system that would give you something else to play for .This game though is great when it works but have found that it is sometimes difficult to get the game to start when Im playing online with friends and family but once it gets going its awesome.

Unfortunate purchase. I really want to love this online version because I love the physical board game so much… but, sadly, I don’t. It seems to be very glitchy. I often get kicked out of games or they just freeze up. This seems to happen more often than not. Joining games is also frustrating. I try to join multiple different games and then just sit there waiting and the host never starts. Hopefully there is an upgrade soon to work out the kinks.

Old purchases don’t transfer. This game is fine, it works. The old one was more authentic to the actual board game. It’s also EXTREMELY disappointing that I had purchased the other maps in the old app and none of them transfer over. Now I need to pay again for the maps that I had already purchased? It seems that there should be a way to have those purchases transfer over but I haven’t seen a way to do that.

amazeballs. I have no idea why other people are facing issues, but everything has been working smoothly so far I love it. I purchased the Europe map, and I’ve been doing only solo games so far and have encounter no problems. I have the app on both my iPad and my iPhone, and both are great.

Fun game, bad programming. This game accurately captures the fun of the board game and I enjoy it a lot. However, the game is very buggy. I don’t run into issues with single player games. But with online games the game often gets stuck or crashes. I’ve been trying to play with my kids in an online with friends game but have yet to be able to get more than a round or two in without one of us freezing up or not loading correctly. Hopefully the developers will fix it. If it were t for that, I’d probably rate it a 5.

what a disappointment. During lockdown, I played the old app online with my family and friends weekly (or more!) and I am so disappointed to have been kicked off the old app. The new app, which my entire family purchased so that we could play together, can’t even initiate an online game. Everyone “joins” but nothing loads for anyone beyond the turn order and a map. No tickets, nothing. This needs to be fixed! I feel terrible for suggesting that my loved ones purchase this app and hope they all receive refunds.

Disappointed but promising. Compared to the old version, this new version is disappointing. I wish they had added all the maps and fixed all the bugs before disabling online in the old version and making it unavailable to download. I echo others’ concerns about colors being distinct and online gameplay. I will say one perk is that the computer is better in this version. I miss the ranking and karma points and my Mega USA map. I’m looking forward to many future updates to make this game more enjoyable again. I have hope!

Much worse than iPhone version. Ticket to Ride is my favorite board game, but this version is a big flop. The colors of the cards are too similar (you can’t tell if you’re picking up red or orange, unless both colors are showing), the game board is overly detailed which makes it harder to visualize, the pins that indicate the cities of your routs obscure the board making it unclear how many trains are needed for a particular route, animations do not add anything to the gameplay and only slow down the game, there is no option for pass and play which is primarily how I play the game with my wife. Do not recommend. I’d give this 0/5 stars if that were an option.

Can’t set up games with friends. This game is full of bugs. Can’t set up games with friends that work. Developer says they’re working on it when contacted, but same problem persists in comments for months. Newest problem? Now the game says “update needed” to play, but no update available in App Store! Old game may not have been as pretty, but at least I could play! Paid $40 for this one with “early bird discount” and can’t even get past the first screen today. So disgusted. Please don’t waste your money until they fix bugs. And there are A LOT of bugs to fix. Not even sure why they’d launch such an underdeveloped product.

Terrible glitchy unplayable new version. This new version is the worst modern era app game ever. The game constantly kicks out out of games, unretrievable for connection errors. There is now no ranking system for competitive game players, those of us with thousands of games played on old version. They released too early with only2 maps ready to go and the gameplay is TERRIBLE. hard to see colorings and routes, and the zoom in and out nonstop feature of track laying makes me and my poor vision so unbelievably nauseous. Very sad to lose game as I will not be playing this one.

Don’t purchase!. This game is such a disappointment. It times out all the time on a new iPad and extremely good internet. The issue is the game! Sometimes it freaks out and while you try to draw a card or place trains, it does something else. Thankfully,I didn’t waste my money on the pricey European map and only wasted $6 on the USA map. There wasn’t anything wrong with the old game for iPad. I would expect that this game would be an improvement and not a massive disappointment. No discount either for those of us who had all the old maps. Other games are available.

Such a dissapointment!. I am a die hard fan of the game and played the old app all the time. I'm in my 20s and I have a difficult time with readability on this app. The turns are WAY too fast and I won't be playing again until it's fixed. This is a strategy game and there is ZERO time to think. It was infuriating and stressful to play. Absolutely hated the zoom in feature when trains were laid, totally unnecessary. This was launched WAY before it was ready. I would have considered dropping the $35 for early bird price of all maps if this app was in any way presentable, but it's not an its miserable and stressful to play. Took a really great thing and ruined it by releasing it before it was ready.

It’s fun but it freezes….. This game is addicting. It’s almost just as fun as the actual board game. But it’s VERY frustrating when you’re trying to play online with your friends and it’s guaranteed to freeze EVERY game you try to play for at least one person, then everyone has to exit the game and start a new one. Then it keeps happening over and over again. Please fix this bug. It’s impossible to play with your friends which is so frustrating. I understand glitches for free games, but at $5, this shouldn’t be happening every single time!! Please fix!!!!

So frustrating!. I have so many complaints about this game versus the original ticket to ride app but now I just wish it would work! This new version of TTR seems even buggier now that it’s been updated! I feel lucky on the rare times that I’m able to join or create a game successfully and then it seems like at least 75% of them never get completed. Either I got kicked off or someone else does and we can’t rejoin. Please take this game down until you can get it right and please keep players posted on your progress as other games (Catan) have done.

Worst update ever. The new app is a disaster in every respect. You can’t easily tell which routes have been claimed. The animation is confusing and a time waste. The geographic detail (like mountains) is needless and only distracts. The scoring at the end is too fast and confusing. You can’t see how many route cards other players have when it’s not their turn. I’m not one of those people who reacts negatively to every change just because it’s new, but this is horrible. The new app prioritizes needless things over clarity and ease of use. I’ve never seen an app make such horrible changes. I would pay $100 just to use the old one.

80% of the work still needs to be done. Poor feel when you play compared to the previous version on iPad Very hard to join a game, most games don’t even start, no ranking of players or levels choose, no explanation of certain features such as blitz or normal game time, no leaderboard, etc…basically this game is sold in beta version for kids beginners, definitely not for usual players. The Product Designers should have asked real players how to design it since they obviously aren’t serious players of this game, really sad. Some good graphics and ideas though, but overall there’s so much work to fix the game that I’d rather want my money back. Marmalade: when deals follow business to milk a franchise and the product not following, you loose a big opportunity to make a large community happy

Sad. I was so excited to hear that a new “Ticket to Ride” app was coming since the old one wasn’t working well. However, I find this one very hard to use - mostly due to the graphics. It is so difficult to see where my pins are and it is also so difficult to see where trains have been played by me or other players. Finally, it is hard to read the little number that indicates how many of a certain color card I am holding - and it’s confusing which color the little number corresponds to because it sits between two. I hope these things get fixed because my extended family and I always have many games going and we all love playing.

Laughably, as good as it’s going to get;. and it isn’t pretty. Well, it might look pretty on the surface, but it is so far from good it should be classified as a scam. It isn’t a very complex game compared to many others in the app store, including FREE ones - this should not be sold to any of us for $6 when it is so infested with bugs. Every update they release is so substantial in size I get hopeful that a noticeable improvement will finally be implemented. Sadly, I think the developers are blindly throwing attempts at the wall to see what sticks. Perhaps they are spread too thin, as I see similar themes in the reviews of their other products. Tl:dr: buyer beware - it’s worse than a knockoff.

Frustrating. It looks pretty but there are some serious issues. You really can’t see the train tracks well. It is nearly impossible to lay tracks on a 1 or 2 car track. This is incredibly frustrating when each play has a timer and after a few seconds of trying to lay your route it just draws cards for you. When choosing routes and in play the cities you are trying to reach are not marked well. Overall, it is nicer looking than the last app, but it isn’t functional.

Comparison to old version. There were some features with the old version that I prefer. First of all, you can’t see the routes you made as the scoring is revealed. Secondly, the map isn’t accurate. Thirdly, I had paid for a number of maps in the old version which are not available. Fourthly, even on the fastest setting, it is slower than the old version. Finally, it is harder to see.

Go back to the original!. The original was easy to follow, this version isn’t. Have you ever heard the cleche: “If it isn’t broken, why break it?” I loved the old game, I don’t like this version. The route cards are tiny tiny and you can’t read them, even with a magnifyer. The map runs all over, it doesn’t stand still so that you can figure something out. The colors are terriable. Revert to the ORIGINAL, as this version stinks. I’d get my money back, but that is a royal pain. When you go back to old version let me know, as I’m not even going to log on, as this is the worst rendition of a BOARD GAME i have ever seen.

Poorly Designed / not ready. If you played the older version of TTR by a different company, you will most likely be very disappointed with this version. To begin with, it’s very glitchy.. wouldn’t let me play, would freeze up, would draw cards versus make the play wanted. There is no basic chat, it’s hard to see your routes with their choice of markers. The animation can’t be turned off, there is a timed aspect but you can’t see the clock (except for you on your turn). The cards are oddly designed/colored. No ranking. I was really excited for a new version but unfortunately it’s not worth the $5. Maybe with some fixes and upgrades. Only time will tell.

Terrible graphics choices!. It’s as though nobody in the design group played the game. It is very difficult to differentiate between claimed and unclaimed routes or to follow what each player has claimed. Animations are annoying distractions at best, illness-inducing at worst. I honestly can’t think of a single way in which this version improves on the old one (no longer available). Is it because the developers don’t like board games and are trying to make it more like a video game? Also, all the best extras of the old version seem to be gone - ranking system for players to allow you to find players of a similar skill level, karma scores to prevent people from constantly abandoning games in the middle if they aren’t winning, etc. I understand charging for different avatars, etc., to try to increase revenue, but there is no excuse for ruining the basic game playing experience. Just…awful.

Poor performance but great graphics. Although I’m very annoyed and angry that the company sunset the previous version of this game and made it non-functional after purchasing all the expansion packs I will admit this version made some improvements. There were several fixes in this version of the game that I appreciate. even though I love the franchise, I am not purchasing any of the expansion packs because the game at his course is non-functional. The game is freezing, will not load at different times forcing the online challenge to be quit

Glad they are investing in it but needs improvement. Cool to have a new skin on the game especially since the last one started becoming very buggy..but holy crap the color palette makes it so hard to actually see what’s happening which is the most important part of game. Also , I just bought all these maps on the old ticket to ride, will they transfer over?? Meanwhile, my wife bought the Europe map and we can’t actually figure out how to play it together or with friends. I hope they continue to make improvements.. the core game is so good but there are some major pain points with version 1.

Too bad for the glitches…. I really like this game and have fun playing it solo, but when it comes to playing with friends, it’s bad!! (The solo game is the only reason it 2 stars) With friends, It keeps freezing or disconnecting. Then when you try to go back in, it only loads a blank map. The cards and trains on the map don’t show up. I can zoom in on the map but that’s all. Even when you try and quit, that screen freezes. I really wanted to play this with my nephews several states away, but with these bugs it’s near impossible. Plz fix the issue asap!

It’s OK - Not as horrible as everyone says. It’s ok. That’s about it. It doesn’t move very snappy. It can be a bit sluggish and it does have bugs But for the price it’s alright. I had the game crash a few times in solo play and soft lock my game. Which is annoying because I was winning. The character avatars don’t have the same charm as the rest of the character design and are more in line with the newer expansions. I think the biggest shock is the price of the expansions. The European map is the same price as the app. And having to pay extra for avatars and different shaped carriages is a bit nickel and dime-ey. These are purely cosmetic and don’t add any value to the game play other than aesthetics. If you’re dying to play the game, I would recommend getting a sub to Board Game Arena. But if that’s not an option, this is fine.

Great fun! (and a couple of requests). As a huge fan of the board and computer version, I was counting the days until an app returned. The game itself is terrific! Consider: - enabling a zoom feature when players are reviewing trips - checking on the “Bubble friends” feature, which doesn’t always work properly - adding a simple way to get out of games and back to Home without having to close the app completely and restart. Bring able to play multiple games at the same time (especially the Async option) is good, but once a game is chosen from “My Games,” players have to restart the app to get back to that same screen. Nice work - now reward early adopters with some quick updates. Thank you!

Complete crap. New map is smaller and difficult to follow who’s played where. Only three routes to start means if you get a long route to start you simply race. No bonus for getting the most routes eliminates part of the strategy of the game. Game play is stupid slow. People set up games and then drop meaning the games stay in the lobby forever. Game keeps crashing. No notice when a player quits a game. Takes forever to get a game going. Train colors match too closely to the route colors. Disaster and it costs $5 instead of the previous free version which was ten times better. Stay away.
