Perfect College App. Well, I am a sociology major in college and as such I have a lot of written assignments. I also have ADD and the internet readily available. This app is perfect for students trying to get an essay to the right length. The setting to force you to focus on only three lines at a time that this app was built on is a life saver. That is all.

Awesome App. I like this app always use this to write my messages and I enjoy how easy it is. Love it.

Another problem .... Since the 15 Aug 2013 "update," iPad has been trying to install, to no avail ... Cannot locate app to delete/reinstall .. What next, team?

Problem. Just got a update and all my work I had to date was gone and old work I had removed to another computer returned. What happened and how do I get new work back? Still no result of why my current work vanished. Please get this program fixed.

Muito bom app, mas ainda falta algo... Bom, o app e legal, funcional (da para escrever um texto numa boa) mas falta intuitividade nos comandos de acesso as funcoes. Eu uso ha muito tempo o `pages` (que trava de vez em quando e depois da atualizacao para IOS 5.1 ficou mais lento) e o `daedalus touch` se apresentou como uma melhor opcao para mim pois e muito rapido e preferi experimentar o iWriter que eu acho que consegue cumprir seu papel (editor de texto) mas seu visual nao agrada, assim como ja dito acima os comandos tambem nao sao intuitivos. Mas pelo preco (2,99) vale a pena para quem nao quer gastar muito. Rio de Janeiro - Beaultiful - Brasil

Cross platform support lacking. When is Latex/Mermaid support coming to iOS?

Not what I expected from a paid app.. I've been searching for an app where I can edit my documents. Here are the pros: - Ability to change fonts - Dropbox integration - hasn't crashed yet (in three days) Here are the cons - Typing lag. This is a huge deal and has caused me to stop using the app and moving on to a free alternative. I can type an entire sentence without anything showing up on the screen. If I wait 5- 10 seconds later, what I typed will finally appear onscreen. - Can't bulk edit line spacing (though adjusting the font can somewhat take care of this). - No Bold, Italic, underline, strike through or highlight option. Again, I found these in a free editing app.

Terrific Writing and Notes App. In a sea of choices, this app is a refreshing fast and highly useful example of the best their is. I use it for everything from the simple capturing of ideas, to write long first drafts of a report. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Great. My go-to app! (One feature missing). 3 months ago this app unusable, but I kept it because I hoped it would eventually get fixed. I had hopes that it would become my go-to writing app. The bugs have been squashed and it works wonderfully. Simple, sleek, and almost painless. My one gripe is one of convenience. I rely heavily on dropbox or box cloud storage, and unfortunately it is a major hang up having to pause and save and save and re-save instead of simply syncing from the external file. Maybe this isn't even up to the iwriter team, but an obstacle from the external storage provider. That aside, great app. Highly recommended

Very Nice, Except..... The latest update (November 2012) has dropped full Dropbox synching. A curious omission that feels like a step backward. Now you have to copy a file and then later, upload it again. This is precisely the same clunky method one uses in Pages. If iWriter had added iCloud support, it may not be such a big deal. But there is no reason given (technical?) and it pulls the experience down.

Very slow. After editing for a few minutes the editor becomes extremely slow. You can't type, you can't move the cursor, your hand starts cramping, you start tapping the screen harder, now and then stuff happens, probably queued event from the frantic poking, sliding, double tapping, pressing every single button on the keyboard. I turned of auto sync, but it had no effect. Perhaps it's sad and on strike because I am using the largest font, am in night mode and disabled the real estate hogging markup toolbar. All I want is a decent text editor that allows me to change font face and font size and can format HTML from markdown.

For Markdown, immediately useless. iWriter claims to have markdown support, but disallows you from opening *.md files from external sources. Try iA Writer instead.

Note-table app.. Nicely executed, proof that simple works.

IWriter is a good document writer. This program is a good way to do all your word processing needs.

My fault. I cant believe among hundreds of text editors for free i found a paid one without spelling check function.

iWriter review. This is still one of my favorite programs. Its greatest virtue is its elegant simplicity. If you are a writer and are not using this app, you owe it to yourself to get to know it.

Works exactly as says, no bugs on my ipad.. Its fairly simple app. You can create a word doc as well as folders and of course move the docs in and out of the folders. you can rename docs but just cant rename folder after you named it. You have a few fonts, times roman of course plus several others. You can easily email a doc or drop box it. Thats really about all i saw, like i said, simple but works for me! Think of it as a word doc minus the extras with a filing cabinet. Peace!

More themes please!. Since replacing my IPad I am using the app more and loving it. Particularly the terminal green feature. Would love it even more if the app had more nostalgic themes from the 80’s. To give some examples the orange letters with black background (as seen in jumping Jack flash) or the white letters with blue background (as seen in Doogie Howser, M.D.). Big nostalgia nerd.

New update introduced bugs.. First off, great app. Love the simplicity. Latest update unfortunately introduced a few bugs for me: deleting local documents does not get rid of them, only wipes the text from the document. Also, I've had a few instances of documents wiping themselves out of nowhere! Not cool. Hope these get fixed soon!

I wish it had real Dropbox syncing.... You can download files from Dropbox and copy files to Dropbox, but there's no automatic Dropbox syncing. If I knew that, I wouldn't have bought this app. I like the ability to edit the same text files from my iPhone and PC, so the iCloud syncing is useless to me. It's too bad, I really wanted to like this app because this app is gorgeous.

Must Have. Great for organizing your catalog of songs to perform. Simply put I have not found better. I’d like to thank iWriter sincerely for this application for giggling Muscian’s. Raif Bird Randy PRISCO

Great simple text editor. The app doesn’t crash. It’s a great simple text editor with nice themes. If you don’t want advanced features, this is for you.

Pretty good. Not too bad overall. It is a minimalistic editor, not only in the interface, but in most other aspects. For instance I hadn’t realized when I paid for it that it could not make any text bold, italic, underlined, etc. To me that’s pretty basic for a text app. And yes, you can change the font or the size, but only of the entire file. These 2 things alone will keep me from using it very much at all. Wish that I had know that before purchasing it.

Simple and elegant. Simple and elegant. I appreciate the fact that the program is not loaded down with useless features. I have noticed that with longer docs it tends to be less responsive (although the doc I tested was admittedly 90,000 words). White text on black screen and full screen mode are wonderful. I would give five stars/pay more for 1) a tab that does not indent so far. Two or three spaces is fine, but a nine space indent is distracting! 2) larger fonts sizes (one or two more would be nice). Please add 2) and fix 1). Keep up the good work!

No Dropbox sync. Writing in the app is good and clear. However, I mistakenly purchased the app expecting it to have full Dropbox integration which is not the case. In order to keep your documents in order you have to import and then export back to Dropbox which is nuisance. The support was quick to respond to my reclamation though so it doesn't deserve a mere 1-star rating.

Can’t find character count. I bought this app to replace my very old original version because that one was freezing up. I saw, on some of the examples above, that it the app shows word AND character count but I cannot find the character count and I cannot find any settings. I need the character count and it was my favorite thing about the original program.

Request. Feature Requests: -Tab key -Customizing the top row of keys for any ASCII character -Helvetia Neue font

IWriter. Just purchased app and works well. The one thing missing is the print option. If possible, the option for font selection, margins and line counts (so that the writer will know where the page will break). Looking forward to updates.

Good work so far!. Fantastic app guys. Simple, intuitive, and effective. If you guys would be so kind as to add the following features, this app would be perfect. 1) Search function is a must for people who use these apps a lot for several ideas. 2) The ability to swipe left from the documents list to access the last viewed document. 3) The ability to manually rearrange the documents within the list of documents on my device. 4) The option of moving a document from one directory to another, instead of having to copy and paste it, go back, and delete the original. Works very well with Apple Pencil. This is a great app, especially if you want to write with the Apple Pencil. It recognizes my terrible handwriting easily and allows for deletions and insertions without trouble. This app is so much better than GoodNotes 5 which is little more than a primitive note pad which can only convert written-to-text with fiendish difficulty and then only in a stupid “text box”. Stick with iWriter!

Nice and simple.. Great app to write with minimal distractions or fluff.

Great!. This is one of the best apps to use for writing. Whether it is for notes, writing a novel, etc. This is a great app for it all. But, even the best things can use some improvements. If you could think of adding in the future a "bold, italicize, underline" option and a picture for the cover of your documents. Other than that, this app is wonderful. It's clean and sleek, and isn't distracting.

great job!. Several apps on offer share a similar icon and m.o. While iA Writer may be the grandaddy of them all, I find it too heavy in some areas (file management) and too light in others (customizability). By contrast, iWriter is right in the sweet spot for my use. However, iA Writer has recently stepped up its game by going universal. iWriter - your move!
