Another great game from TTT!. I’ve followed Tiny Touch Tales ever since Penny Arcade recommended Card Crawl. Like all their games, Maze Machina is addictive, highly polished and beautiful. 5 stars, buy the rest too!

Confusing and get annoying after 10 minutes. Not worth it.

All About the Cheese. Pretty fun game, but the cheese mechanic is way OP. Whatever you do, make sure you get the cheese (which is sometimes impossible to do), or you will not make it far because it doesn’t show up enough. Developer: nerf the cheese mechanic! Put a slice on each level or maybe every other level instead of every 3. It is vital to survival and ruins the strategy of battling the bad guys. Your otherwise solid design becomes a game of Capture the Cheese or Die. Update: Just found Limit Mode which removes the cheese altogether. Better, but I think the cheese is a good mechanic, just overpowered, like I said originally. 1 star added.

The best mobile developer’s worst game. Tiny touch tales is the best mobile game developer, and frankly one of the best game developers out there. So my two stars are possibly more informed by disappointment than the game actually being bad. The core ideas at play are really great but they are executed poorly. In the game all of your weapons are decided by your position on the board. Every tile gives you a weapon. The only thing is, the tiles are entirely random. This causes everything to be confusing (not challenging). There are so many different weapons to learn that it become impossible to properly strategize. Rather than a couple of mechanics that can be combined in many ways, you get hundreds of mechanics that don’t really combine at all. Some of the weapon animations are a little slow for my taste as well. I really like the concept of the game but I just think the core gameplay needs to be tweaked. Maybe make it so that only certain weapons show up on certain levels. Maybe scrap the randomizer and make each stage by hand. The game has great ideas, and I can tell the creator worked hard on this one, but It just needs to be a little more balanced.

Totally addicted!!!!. Some reviews say this game is too random which isn’t fair at all. They are confusing “random” with complex but totally predictable chain reactions (with 10% randomness as tiles change). I view it more as chess on steroids with a bit of luck based on what item is drawn once the previous one is used. Challenge mode is really what has me addicted. It basically allows up to 10 players to compete against each other. Once the challenge is complete players are ranked based on: 1) how many rooms they completed 2) how many turns it took (tiebreaker 1) 3) how long it took (tiebreaker 2) These results then adjust the global, ELO based, rankings. I’m absolutely addicted! P.S. To Daynger, you are a beast but I’m slowing coming for that #1 spot 😜

Has potential. Too many weapons. You just end up clicking around hoping to get the key, with no real strategy, even after doing the tutorial. The icon with the checkbox or x was never explained. Sometimes you die by a robot and you have no idea why. Sometimes the robots attack and sometimes they don't. Gave up on this after a day. Go get sinkr2 for a real thinking game.

Best $2 I’ve spent in months. Oh, Maze Machina! You are wonderful, creative, enjoyable, and have made me want to pour gasoline on my phone, light it on fire, throw it into the Grand Canyon, retrieve it, only to play a few more games and then do it all over again. In all seriousness, the brutality of the game (getting through level 15) is a challenge. But it’s a worthy challenge, and I’ve discovered that it can be done. (Current record: 220 moves). For now, there are four additional modes for me to “beat”. But just getting through level 15 on Normal mode was enough entertainment for the cost of the app. All in all, it’s a brilliant puzzle game, and I hope real, non-freemium apps such as this continue to be available for a long, long time.

The Mouse that could. Fun little game that’s different from the rest. It stands out. I can see that it can be frustrating and will not be for everyone as some will loose patience with it. If you stick with it it can be a enjoyable ride and a nice reprieve from the norm.

Great game. This is a great game that I enjoy playing. It’s just I can’t pay for the full game so I’m kind of struggling. But I do understand why so I’m not mad. All in all, a wonderful game that I think should be even more popular, great job.

I like it. Worth the 2 bucks maybe give the robot some sound yell or grunt when he silently smashes his hands on the glass. Maybe give the mouse some squeaks here and there. Maybe add versus turn by turn.

Best game in a long time!. This is one of the best designed games I’ve ever played. I liked Threes but got bored with numbers. Imbroglio was confusing and frustrating to me. This game combines the best elements of both. The entire play experience is incredible. And with different modes, it’s accessible for casual players but challenging for experienced ones. Thank you for thinking of different kinds of players! I’m a casual gamer and this is perfect for me! This developer makes great games, and this may be my new favorite of his. And with such a fair premium price and no IAPs, this is a great buy. And he always keeps his games updated so they function well over time. Thank you for a great game, developer! We need more developers like this out there. This is honestly one of my favorite gaming experiences.

It’s almost worth playing. The idea is amazing but the randomness of the tiles and their actions is disappointing. I can’t count the number of levels where it was impossible to get the cheese or it was immediately destroyed. Or when i’m close to running out of stamina and the tile i’m trying to move from keeps generating ice or a hook so I can’t actually move. And instances where the curse can destroy the key is just weird.

Decent from a good dev.. This game is good and has some room for improvement. The developer has been putting out decent games for a while and this one doesn’t disappoint for the cost. There are some balancing issues with the primary game mode and I doubt it’s actually winnable given that the stamina mechanic is random and destroyed by the enemies. There seems to be some bugs in draft mode where the bonuses aren’t applied as their descriptions read.

Hate the workshop and new scoring. I loved this game until the most recent update. I paid for the “full” game bcuz its the only way to get the daily, then I discovered that the regular Play mode has become nearly impossible to get past level 5, and requires acquisition of weapons through collecting of gears. It’s no longer fun, and I’ve paid for it. :-(

G.O.A.T.. Arnold Rauers, in my mind, is the greatest developer of all-time for card strategy games. The amount of thought and effort are always evident in his work. Every game he makes is excellent and they all seem to belong together. For me, Maze Machina has solidified his greatness. I don’t think Arnold Rauers is capable of making a game that is not excellent.

A-Maze-ing. Great game that the developers were clearly passionate about. There’s a lot of attention to detail that keeps the game entertaining.

👍🏼. Love this developer’s creativity, glad to support someone putting out quality, unique games

Waste of time. This game is so frustrating it’s not even fun. The weapons never work the same way twice and the tutorial is a joke. When you can’t make it through a level you have to start all the way over at the beginning. It’s not fun.

Simple game done right. On its surface, this is a simple game. The basic mechanics are simple to grasp, and while there are a healthy number of unlocks, even in the free version, they do not complicate the mechanics, they just add interesting depth to them. Combine this with the fact that you are not inundated with ADs or have to deal with a variety of mechanics specifically designed to push you to micro transactions, I feel like it would be criminal not to recommend this game.

Well done but boring and a bit confusing. I don’t hate it. It’s well done. That said, I played it for a day and got bored. It’s the opposite of those addictive games you can’t stop playing. You have to move the mouse around with various weapons to get rid of robots to get the key? That sounds better than lining up three of a color etc., but it ends up just being tedious.

Wow. What an AWESOME GAME. From the second the tutorial started I was hooked. What a well thought out, clever, highly polished game. You can tell the developers put everything into this one. The Card Thief was amazing, but honestly this one is way better. GREAT JOB DEVS, love the game! To anyone on the fence, buy this game, you won't regret it. It's got a great art style, amazing mechanics, great music, and really makes you think about your moves! Game design at its finest.

A steampunk story of a mouse. I absolutely love the game the puzzle is so addicting

This is simply an amazing game.. I love all the little elements to the puzzle. I love the way that when you progress it breaks a bit of Automatron! The gameplay is smooth, simple, sharp. Well done. I realize I have a favorite mobile company cause I love your games as well.

Very fun to play…. Hard to master. The tutorial does a very good job explaining the different abilities you can use. Always being able to touch a tile and have an explanation of the ability is a great help. Rougelikes BY DESIGN are supposed to be difficult. They’re designed for strategic play and the RNG factor is just the nature of the games. Know what you’re getting into. Would be nice to have the machines being capable of carrying the cheese as they do the keys. Funny that you become emotionally invested in the mouse 😄 Overall, one of the best first release, easy play apps I’ve seen in a very long time. Definitely looking forward to mastering the different play options. Well done!

Another brilliant Tinytouchtales game.. Every game this developer and his team have made are creative, adaptably challenging, original, endlessly entertaining, and visually stunning!

Almost perfect. Really great concept for a game and the execution is great. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that it doesn’t have a ton of replayability. Once you’ve beaten it there really isn’t a ton of motivation to play it again. And unlimited mode would be nice.

Stamina Bad. I’m completely down with purchasing the game and giving it 5 stars if you can turn stamina off. It’s a horribly stupid mechanic with the way it was implemented. Even if you always go for the cheese to replenish stamina it only gives you enough for a few more moves. The whole thing feels like a time/pay wall tactic to purchase the game which is fine, ppl need to get paid. If, however, the stamina works the same way after purchase then it’s just a really bad design decision that kills what is otherwise a very special game.

So awesome. Not as approachable as Card Crawl or Miracle Merchant but still some of the best strategy fun you can have! Only gripe is that you can get yourself into some impossible-to-escape situations, I think a check, checkmate system would fix that though, as always the game’s aesthetic is amazing, it’s still awesome to be in this same fantasy world (one of my favorite parts of his games) Definitely get this, it’s well worth the money

Game of the Year 2020. Maze Machina gets my vote for iOS Game of the Year for 2020. Brilliant game and absolutely recommended just like all their other games. It does get old after a while and unfortunately doesn’t have the progression models that Card Crawl and Card Thief have. The animations and sound design are genius, but the animations are too slow imo which gets annoying quickly. Still, this developer (and team) produce some of the most polished and creative games on the App Store. I’ve bought all but one and this game was priced way too low.

A disappointment. Looks to build on concept of threes but forgets what made threes fun. Way too many icons, with no simple way to review what they mean (but for a slog of a tutorial), and hardly any strategy to implement given icons randomly flip on tiles. Loved the developer’s prior games, however.

Favorite Game. The challenges are the best part! Keep at the game until you get the hang of it. It’s worth it!

Beautiful.. Another great game by Tinytouchtales! They make the best mobile games. Fun, challenging, deep gameplay and great artwork. Overall great experience. Thanks!

Used to love this game, now has major bug. I used to love this game and had almost made it all the way through. Then there was an update which removed all the items I had unlocked. Okay, fine…just gives me a reason to play more. However, with the new items-unlocked-by-collecting-gears, there’s a major problem because you can only collect up to 25 gears and some items cost more than the 25 gear max. Please fix this and I’ll make it 5 stars. Right now, I’m just disappointed

The big cheese!!. I love this game!! I feel that the mark of a great game is it’s fun to play as you learn and get better, fun to play when you’re good enough to beat it and fun to keep playing again and again! Just ALWAYS get the CHEESE!!

Too hard. It should reset every time a new level comes

Fabulous game!. The game would be a 5 star easily. It’s fun, there are unlockable things and it’s a nice story. The only reason I made it 4 stars is because to get all the unlockables you must pay money. I don’t want to pay money, but you can unlock a lot without the money.

Addictive. I got top 10 in a daily. Now I must push to be #1!

Garbage cheese/stamina mechanic. Really fun gameplay until the broken stamina mechanic kicks in and inevitably kills you on the 2nd or 3rd level.

Good game bit of a learning curve.. I really love this game but it takes time to learn

Ego bruising but enjoyable.. You may see a simple puzzle game but I see a deep challenge that pushes the right buttons to make me want to play. One. More. Time.

Some frustrations. Overall fun but some wonky mechanics from time to time

The joy of struggling. I “hate” this game almost as much as I love it. Learning it takes a while—figuring out what every weapon does and how they might interact requires many painful deaths. But when it clicks, it’s a beautiful thing. I’ve made elegant moves that get me through a level in 5 or 6 steps. I’ve managed to move the key and myself to the exit at the same time. I’ve had fantastic runs that could land me near the top of the global leaderboard ... ... and I’ve watched all of those things fall apart because the key got blown up, or cursed, or I accidentally teleported onto a bomb, or I got stuck and starved to death, or any number of other frustrating finishes. But, almost every time that’s happened, I’ve reacted the same way: by starting another run. And that statement hopefully tells you all you need to know about how great this game really is.

Screw the devs. This was a great game, I loved to play it in my free time, but the devs changed it, for no reason, to make it a pay to win. Before it was like 60 starting stamina and 30 for cheese, with all the items for free making it a lot more strategic and you had to get through 15 levels with cheese appearing every 3 levels. Now they made it 30 stamina, with cheese giving you only 5 stamina, and you only get a sword, shield, and bow & arrow, and you can’t even get half the items through this new gear thing they added. This game was so much fun and I loved it but now it’s just a crappy game that they made into a cheap cash grab

Like solitaire. The game is okay. I eventually realized that it’s kind of like Spider Solitaire. Board is random. There is some strategy but you can easily get stuck in a situation where the only option is to use your moves to die and restart. The daily games can be fun but they suffer even more from the same problem. If half of the squares are reinforcements then there doesn’t seem like much to do.

Easy to learn, hard to master.. Great graphics, quick directions, and easy to play. Definitely worth a try.

Knocked it out of the park. This team always makes the best games, and they’ve done it yet again. I love the art style and the soundtrack is always great. Good job!

Krumit’s tale inspired?. Very similar looking and feeling to Krumit’s Tale, very unique and fun as well, great job.

Fun but hit a ceiling quickly. Clever but reaches a point where after weeks of playing I can’t get past level 10 or 11 of 15. (Developers, more cheese? One or two less enemies?). It seems unbeatable so maybe it’s fun it’s course for me. Clever concept though.

Not replayable. I love this mobile developer and have bought every game that they’ve put out there and loved them all. Maze Machina is actually very fun at first but once you beat it there’s nothing that happens which makes winning feel like a waste of time. I think if this game had some sort of objective or unlockable it would be a much better game. Something like in card crawl where you could unlock different dealers or heroes, or in card thief where different enemies start showing up as you progress. Maze Machina is just repeating the same thing over and over again; get the key, collect the cheese if it’s there, work your way around the 2 enemy types that are basically the same, go to the golden tile, repeat. There’s no variety whatsoever. I wish I could rate this higher but it just feels like it’s missing so much.

Great release, could be better. I’ve been following this developer for awhile and really like their stuff. This game looks great and is well polished. The base mechanic is great: the breadth of modifiers and randomness make for a constant challenge. But, I have to agree with another reviewer about the cheese mechanic... Because enemies increase per level, and cheese only appears every three levels, what you find is by level 9+ whether or not it is even possible to get the cheese is a crapshoot. You may lose simply by running out of stamina and, due to the impossibility or bad luck of the level, be very frustrated by this. I want to lose because I strategically lost, not because random chance. An easy fix for this would be to have the robots pack the cheese like they do the key, so that I can destroy the cheese carrier and still obtain it. Why does the cheese disappear when a robot gets it anyway? It’s not like they can eat it...

Elegant, catchy, super-fun. I have all of Arnold’s games, and I think this is probably my favourite. Deceptively simple setup with infinitely variable consequences- very appealing artwork, super fun mechanics… it’s a superb survival-puzzle challenge. I love this game even more since the recent update which has deepened the strategy a lot. The workshop, challenges and ordinary game are all intertwined as you build your strategy and try to climb the leaderboard! Totally buy this game. Support indie talent!

Decent. Once you get the hang of how to move around the tiles, it’s pretty easy. It’s a pretty sweet game!

Really fun.. Reminds me of Threes and Grindstone. The art is so nice! Really glad I got this game.

Recommended. A lot of fun

i paid for full version but i still can only have 25 cheese. :( really enjoyed this game so bought full version but never actually got it, very disappointed

I adore challenge mode!. So fun to have a goal, going for the silver and who knows... maybe the gold???

Complex but easy to pick up. There’s a lot going on here but it’s quickly starting to make sense. Controls are perfectly suited to mobile and the gameplay loop is very satisfying!

Crap. Crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap. Also, it’s crap.

Have to restart from Level 1. There is no option to save your progress. You can provide a limited no of moves in each stage like in Candy Crush.Playing levels repeatedly makes it frustrating & monotonous.

Finely crafted. A perfect little mechanical gem of a game.

Too Hard Out of the Gate. I live the art and the concept, but the game beats you up too quickly and too repetitively. Developer needs to make the first rounds easier to help a player build confidence. The daily games show that there are a ton of other mechanics in the game, but starters will never get to them because if the absolute butt kicking received from the first time you open it. I actually downloaded it because of the tutorial I was able to play in an Apple Store. That was not offered to me in the actual download and I cannot for the life of me understand why.

Great game. Very addictive

Good. Good

It’s good. Rock solid game

Doesn’t worth $2. Full of regrets, such boring and stupid game. I wish I didn’t spend two bucks.

my new fav game. the game is great s of yet. still in begining stages of it but i like the game. and look forward to completing it. lots of fun

Disappointed. Deleted. Left me with the taste of a bad cup of coffee

Original & Unique. Original & Unique puzzle fun

Great. Yes
