We enjoyed the history lessons too!! We highly recommend this app. Recommend you ensure it can be connected to you Car speakers as the volume is a little low on your phone. Make sure to download the app before you venture out as the file is too large without WiFi !!

Best Investment!!. We went thru 2 tanks of gas in our rental Jeep and circled the island almost twice. This app teaches you the history of the island along with what stops are the best and which ones are ok to skip. Used the Maui and Grand Canyon apps in the past. They’ve never disappointed!!!

LOVE this app!!!. This Gypsy Tour app is the BEST THING EVER!! We had the best time and the guides were dead on point for sightseeing and driving around the big island of Hawaii! Like having your own personal tour guide, with tips and scenic routes all perfectly laid out. Do yourself a favor and get the full island tour (but break it into 2 days like he recommends). So much fun! Felt like an old friend by the time we were done!!

Best $8 spent in Big Island. We had used this app before in Maui on road to Hana five years ago and loved it and decided to try it again at Big Island. It’s just as awesome here. We visited so many spots that weren’t on our plan but made our visit more memorable. The voice is soothing and he has a nice sense of humor and seems to understand the pace at which a tourist will want to spend time and offers options that suits everyone’s needs. Highly recommended! If at all there is anything to improve it I’d say making the app aware of time of day and providing a day planner would be highly useful.

The best way to tour Hawai'i!. Imagine you're driving the Big Island with a local who knows everything about the island's important sights, history, and geology AND is a great storyteller who knows when to be quiet. That's GPS guy. Like a smarter, friendlier, and funnier cousin of Siri, GPS Guy is full of timely and appreciated facts about Hawai'i, with tips and info when you need them, where you need them. Especially on the big island, which requires lots of driving to see it all, he makes the miles go by quickly.

Get this App!!!. This was the best money we spent on our trip to the big island. We learned so much & visited some amazing places. It's like a tour guide in your car! Loved the stories & the jokes! It even worked without internet. Thank you so much!!!

Love this app!. We bought The Big Island and Maui apps and loved them both. They made driving both islands easier and more enjoyable-- interesting information and humor along the way. The Big Island Circle Drive and Maui Road to Hana would not have been the same without them. Especially appreciated prioritizing the stops on the road to Hana. We used the cigarette lighter the whole time to keep the phone charged as recommended and didn't have any problems. A great tour guide!

Loved the app. The best $9.99 we spent on our trip to Hawaii! We named our guide Doug. He provided great stops for us to visit. The narrative is amusing and at times funny. This app is incredibly informative and we were able to see many hidden gems on the big island. Don’t hesitate to purchase!

A must have. If you are touring the island on your own, the app is well worth the cost. The driving directions are useful, and the interactive guide based on your location is believable. Great facts and suggestions on what to see. We would have missed several key points of interest trying to use Google alone.

A must have for first time visitors!. Came across this app browsing info for my first visit to the Big Island. Best $10 I spent. We had a car rental for the week and we love getting out to explore on our own. The app is very informative of Hawaiian culture & legends with spot on directions. Even drops a few local tasty treat options.

Great driving guide. We spent a week looping around the big island and felt this audio guide was well worth the money. We enjoyed the historical background it provided and found the points of interest suggestions helpful and accurate.

Big island circle tour. Great facts as you go around the island. Lots of places to stop and make side trips if you just need a break from the car. This is a great way to take a self paced tour of the island by rental car and not pay for an overpriced tour guide that limits your destinations.

Love, love, love. We used this app during our recent trip on the Big Island. It was a hit, and a memorable part of our trip. We loved the narrator... we named him Bob! His commentary was interesting and funny! How that we’re back home, we use the browse option, and just listen to Bob every once in a while!

Best Big Island guide ever!. If you are going to the Big Island, don’t go without this app! It is such a great guide to the sites, history, and culture of the Island. There are many places you would not know they are even there without the app. Worth every penny and more.

Very Accurate and Not Overhyped. This is truly like having a guide sitting next to you. All the turns are accurate and the descriptions are not hyped up ( unlike the well known driving guide to Hana in Maui). The descriptions are down to earth and the historical snippets are quite interesting. If I did not have this guide, I would have to do a lot of research on my own, but who has the time before coming on vacation. So if you are laid back and did not do much research, download this app using WiFi and you won’t miss a thing. Strongly recommend this app.

Don’t Leave Home Without It!!!!. We first heard about GyPSy Guide when we went from Banff to Jasoer. We found it incredibly informative and entertaining. So on our first trip to Hawaii, I got the island package and first used it on Kauai. I really can’t say enough superlative words about the app. It was obvious on the road to Jasper how it worked because there was only one road, but it worked just as beautifully with choices. “Fred” helped us choose where to go, gave us lots of information about the history, culture, geology, and flora/fauna and weather. It tells you what is a must see and what to do or pass up depending on time. He speaks with humor and has a good voice. I like how he reminds of previous stories and continues them at various points. It was great for our 2 days on Oahu and then the 7 days on the Big Island. “Fred” even did a great job of explaining not only what to see in Volcano National Park and how to use our limited time wisely, but also about the important geology, history and biology related to the park. I seriously will purchase every single one available for every road trip or vacation we do from now on!!!!

A pleasant surprise!. My sister recommended the app and knowing there would be some extended driving on the Big Island, I decided to buy it. It has been very educational and the touring tips have been spot on. We just finished the history of Hawaii segment. Fascinating!

Great App! Well worth the $. Use this on our trip, was great! Took us to all the spots mentioned by the other tours and quite a few others. Narration is entertaining and informative. Worked quite well! We took out time and spent 3 days using the app and we’re never disappointed.

Best $10 I ever spent. First time to review any app. GyPSy is precisely what makes modern technology so amazing. Perfect (i.e. not cheesy) and good-humored narration offering a wealth of knowledge. Really made us feel more like travelers than tourists. For us, we enjoyed it best by opening Pandora (we chose IZ station) and then opening GyPSy. Any time narration started, the music would soften but you could still hear it in the background. Can’t recommend this experience highly enough.

So close to greatness, but misses the mark.. The voice is pleasant. Reminds me of Tom Bosley. Cadence is great. Information is good. There are MANY UX/UI problems. 1. You can’t scroll around the map for an upcoming point or a point you passed. The map refocuses on where you currently are. 2. When you pass a point on the map going the opposite direction of the tour, autoplay of that clip doesn’t work. Ok I know it will be problematic if the clip says “the little blue church is coming up on the left.” And I’m traveling the opposite direction. I’m smart enough to know “oh, I’m traveling the opposite direction, so the little blue church is on the right and maybe I just passed it. Do I want to turn around?” Thats MUCH more useful than nothing. 3. If you want to play a clip ad hoc without being close to the waypoint, the UX is super glitchy. You tap on a green dot and nothing happens, or maybe the audio player pops up but nothing plays. Super Aggravating. Workarounds: You can run this app in a simulator and fake your location information- it’s the same way people used to cheat at Ingress before ninantic figured it out and added protections. The thing is, why would GypsyGuides make it so hard just to play an audio clip? Just let me scroll the map and play the clip I want. :(

This app is a must have!. This app made all the difference during our recent trip to the Big Island. We took a lot of day trips during our vacation. The app kept us informed of upcoming points of interest as well as the history of the area. We liked the app so much, we’ve recommended it to other vacationers that we ran into, as well as, friends of ours who were headed to the Big Island. The only trouble I had was initially getting my phone connected to the sound system in the rental car. But, that problem had more to do with the rental car and my phone, not the app.

Great for all types of travelers. We are off the beaten path types of adventure travelers, and while we don't want to go where everyone else goes or do all of the typical stuff, we found this happen to be still super helpful in telling us a bunch of stuff we never would've learned otherwise. Also, the narrations are just the right length just the right quantity and also done by a guy with a soothing and unintrusive voice. Highly recommended especially for this price.

Perfect companion to a big island trip. We are in the middle of our Big Island trip and this app is incredible: we get so much color as we drive around, know the significance, know the history, or just have the confidence that if there is a good viewing area or interesting spot around then the narrator will tell us about it.

Must Have. If you are visiting the big island this is the best app I ever seen I did compare to others nothing came close on Feb 14 my wife and I celebrated our 38 Anniversary we are very active using this app was such a blessing not only did we travel the entire island but the information and education was far the must informative I ever heard about the history of the Hawaii and the island, it also gave reference point to all turns even described what was around the turns, I Connor say enough about good this app is. We drove over 800 miles in 4 days. The only thing it did not have was the southernmost point Naalehu, Big Island, Hawaii but we founded ourself my advice get this app it’s great.

Best money spent. This is one of the best purchases. Very insightful information about the history of the island up to date information about the 2018 lava flow. Great driving directions with little stops along the way that we wouldn’t of known hadn’t been for this app would highly recommend if traveling to Hawaii also used the Maui app when we visited Maui and loved it.

Amazing!. Not even the price of one cocktail, this app has made our whole trip!! Can’t say enough about it-quality, thorough, detailed—no ads/endorsements—super authentic and totally worth it!! So Glad We Found This App!. On a whim, we checked out if there any self driving tours while visiting The Big Island in Hawaii. We rented a car for two days, spent $160, plus $10 for the app. I think we had a better experience on her own using this app then if we would’ve spent $200 per person for tours to the various places we got to visit. The narrative was wonderful. Very informative and kept us entertained. Next time I go someplace I’m going to check if there’s an app again for a self driving tour!

Guide for Big Island. This app is amazing and would consider it a necessity for any trip to the Big Island. Was able to take a self-guided tour around the island using the app and learned about Hawaiian history and saved money by going at it on my own verses using a bus tour! I definitely plan to use Gypsy Guide again!

Big Island. Fabulous app. It was like having a private tour guide in the car with us. Great driving directions, as well as commentary and history of the island. Even reading tour guides before we left it showed us places we would have otherwise missed.

Must Have. My family and I are avid travels and love road trips, we are not planners and typically just go where the winds blow us. This trip however we downloaded Gypsy and I’ll NEVER travel with out it again. We drove the complete island and hands down the best parts were where the app sent us. Not to mention we learned so much US history and local history. The story telling is great, the narrative is amazing, and it’s fun. If you’re on vacation this is a must have 10-star app.

Big Island. We used this app during a two month stay of the big island. It was better than a private guide as it provided insight on sights and the Hawaiian people. They provided instant live telephone support on a Saturday when I mistakenly touched a wrong option. I definitely would buy their guides for other areas I visit.

Delay your trip significantly. We used the app to drive south from Kona to volcano park and north to north coast and Akaka falls. Both trips were delayed by 2hours than it should be. We followed the app and drove the much longer route with not much to see on the way. There are not much to see on big island and for major sites there are road signs telling you where to go or you can just use the google map to get your destination 2 hours earlier. 90% of the volcano park is also closed, but this app hasn’t been updated yet. It is a totally wastes of our time. The road to Hana one is the only app you should use.

Great app. Buy it. Worth the $10. Made the drive around big island fun and informative. Greg was a great tour guide. Only sticking point: the map is permanently locked on your current location. You can zoom in and out but never swipe to another area. Other than that, great app and would recommend purchase.

Good but misses few key places. We used this app at Maui and it was great. So when we visited the Big Island, it was obvious to have this and we paid for the app. While the directions were great in most places, this app completely missed Maunakea! Thankfully we checked Google / TripAdvisor and went there. It's a place that you can't miss in Big Island

A Must For The Hawai’ian Islands!. Excellent historical and sightseeing info and out-of-the-ordinary locales. We used both the O’ahu and Big Island tours. Paired with our windshield mounted GoPro made for awesome touring videos we were able to show our friends and family once home. Just wishing they’d expand their coverage to our neck of the woods (US Mid-Atlantic region). Perhaps one day...

MUST HAVE- best tour guide ever. We have now bought two tours(Road to Hana was the first one, and The Big Island, the second) only wish we had known more up front about it being a package when we did the first. All in all still was the best $15 spent on any tour! Narrator is amazing to listen to, enjoy his stories, and in depth knowledge of Hawaiian history. His storytelling tempo of the tours is very nice, and his sense of humor appreciated! Very easy to use! Absolutely love this app!

Its worth the money, however a chance to improve. After the Road to Hana App, we are impressed and bought this as well. Good part is guided well through the volcano national park and history explanaiton is awesome. One negative part, App assumes trip starts from Kona, but we started our trip from Hilo and skips the locations and just talk about history during our drive from Hilo to Kona costal drive via Volcanic park. How ever still this is one of the best App we purchased.

Best Trip $ Spent!. We just got back from an 8-day trip to the big island and this app was AWESOME! We drove all over the island for hundreds of miles and had our tour guide (we named him Bob) running the whole time. We learned so much, never got lost, and appreciated the informational options in advance so we could make choices that met our needs. We also liked the fact that we got different tidbits of information going different directions on the same road. It was even updated with information on the 2018 lava flow. The only thing that would’ve been better is if some information could be added for the drive over the island on Saddle Road. Other than that, it was perfect and well worth every penny! Don’t leave home without it.

Best “Private” Tour Guide. We had a time box, so we picked only the stops that most interested us. We loved being able to discover great new things, and skip what we wanted. We even took our own stops and detours along the route and the guide caught up as soon as we returned to the route. Super high quality.

Fantastic Guide for our trip. This app is amazing! We have found so many hidden gems and gotten so much great advice listening to the guide as we drive around the island, and learned so much great history.

Awesome. We used it every time we got in the car. Great information about the Big island rich in history. Fun tidbits along the way. The kids rolled their eyes when I turned it on but by the end of the trip we were all engaged. The best part is the directions are awesome so My husband was a happy camper. Highly recommend it !!!

DO NOT GO WITHOUT THIS APP !. How's that for a review? We did Maui and now the Big Island. A better tour guild than a tour guide ... and ya don't have to feed him. LISTEN LISTEN ... and I repeat, LISTEN to his instructions. Uses GPS to guide you for a memorable tour and he even tells you where NOT to stop where there is nothing to see yet everyone stops just because one car did ... well worth the few $$&.

The Big Island. Our family got to The Big Island a week ago and I downloaded this app! It was fantastic to have our personal guide around the Island! This was our second trip to the Island and we missed out on so much not knowing the best way to see the Island was just a few clicks away! Going on adventures and excursions can cost a lot of money. Using this app I was able to cruise around in airplane mode conserving battery and using my phone as a camera! When I travel to other Hawaiian Islands I will be downloading those as well!

Love this app. This is the first time we have used a tour app and we love it. The information was interesting and very useful. It told us what kind of weather to expect and how much time it would take. I only wish it would let me listen to other places than the ones I was near to be able to plan better.

We loved this app!. This app was super helpful in navigating the Big Island! We enjoyed the stories and commentary and even humor along the way! The only suggestion we had was to include some Hawaiian music during the times the tour guide wasn't speaking, as it could be rather boring at those times, or to have it as an option to play Hawaiian music. I was able to play my own, but having it within the app would be wonderful. Overall I would definitely use this app again for other tours in Hawaii!

So easy and informative. Just open it up and start driving. The only catch is that if you open other apps in front of Gypsy it doesn't run - it wants to be on screen to speak.

Best purchase. We recently went to the Big Island and stumbled upon this app. Having used it on the road to Hana in Maui, we knew we liked the idea of it. This was most helpful for a list of reasons but the top two are: 1. Works without cell signal. I lost service a lot and this kept working as it’s based on your GPS. It kept us talking in the car about the fun facts and learning as we were driving significant distances. 2. It told us places to turn off and things to see that we wouldn’t have known about without a lot of research. Well worth the money, recommend to all driving on the big island!

Must buy for your trip!. My husband and I both agreed that this app was the best purchase for our trip. We saw so much stuff that we would not have seen had it not been for this extremely helpful guide. If you are renting a car and driving Hawai’i, do not begin the journey without this guide!

Great and good side trips. Found some things that we would have missed were it not for this too. I have used Gypsy on thee islands and felt that Hana trail was best but this also provided great information and suggestions as we wandered all over the island.

The best. LOVE the guide we used - big island Hawaii. Informative, funny (NOT cheesy), eerily accurate. Make more of these. Particularly Kuai! That other one we used was painful!

Best driving enhancement ever. We loved using the guides when we were in the Canadian Rockies a couple of years ago so it was a no-brainer to download the Big Island guide for our Hawaii vacation. So much interesting info and background. The narration is just wonderful including directions for turn offs. Minor point: when driving up to Waimea from Havi, if it”s raining there is a good chance of encountering small flash floods. The narrator made us laugh at talking about the fabulous views from the summit while we were still white knuckling the drive.

Few things. The Saddle Road is new ! Awesome drive, but watch for laser radar !!!! Also 1 of coffee mills just north of Kona is closed !! Thanks

Big Island tour. Very nice app. Very handy. Did not need a guide anywhere in the Big Island. Highly recommended for self-paced tour.

GyPSy George. We absolutely loved this app. We called the narrator- Gypsy George - and we felt like he was in our car the entire week. He knew exactly where we were on the road at any given time. He made subtle, quiet comments that made us laugh. He was actually hilarious. We would ask ourselves a question, in the car, and within minutes he would actually answer it. The answer would be complete with a timely location based joke. He would introduce a topic (for instance: the Volanco winery) with enough time to tell us about it, allow us to discuss it in the car and make a decision about whether or not we wanted to go there and then remind us the turn was coming up. Very intuitive!!!! Seriously we got so much more out of our week than we would have without Gypsy George. We did do the full circumnavigation of the island and feel like we understand a great deal of the land, the 8 different climate zones, the cultural practices and the people. We saw waterfalls, cities, lookouts, recent lava flows, drop off cliffs, memorials to tsunami victims, rain forests, jungle like roads, main stream sights, ranches, Buddhist monasteries and places off the beaten path. This app gave us so so so much more in our 7 days here than we would have had with out it. Honestly this app is worth every penny. We love Gypsy George. #davepettitt

Great app. Just the right amount of audio to be informative and interesting without every being annoying. Had some trouble with the rental car Bluetooth interface but finally figured out there was a conflict between the BT and plugging the phone into the stereo USB port which wants to control the phone. Resolved this by plugging the phone into the rear seat USB for power only and using only BT to have the audio play through the audio system. Can't blame the app for this but this tip might be useful to others. Anyway, great addition to our vacation and highly recommended.

Everyone visiting Big Island should use this!. Great app for all visitors to Big Island! I highly recommend that everyone download and use it. You will not be disappointed! Very useful in terms of information, sights to see and providing info on the culture and history of Hawaii. This app saves visitors money by not having to go on organized tours, you can see what you want at your leisure, on your own schedule. The only gap for us is that we would like to know the name of the narrator, who became our personal tour guide.

Amazing! So helpful. I never review apps but this app has been so helpful as we drove around the big island. We would've missed so much if we didn't have this app. We've even named the narrator Albert as my 5 year old son thinks he's the smartest. There's so much history in this tour as well but it comes in short bursts so it's not boring. Worth every penny and I'll be sure to download other locations when we go somewhere else

Saddle Road?. A previous reviewer said the guide could use more info on the Saddle Road. Fact is, there is zero info on the Saddle Road and not much on the highways leading to it. Want to drive to Mauna Loa or Mauna Kea? Better get a different guide. Still give it 3 stars for the good info on the covered areas.

Big Island Tour. Used the tours in Maui and Ohoa and got the tour when we arrived in Hawaii and loved it as much as the others.

Not for me. Boring and not helpful. I relied on Yelp, travel books and Google maps.

Love this and worth every penny. Planned on a round the island tour and a tour of volcano national park so we decided to give this a try. Had a rental car and was able to stream it through the audio without using my data plan! Between awesome directions and the many points of interest it made for an awesome trip. Advice on stops, get gas here, try this food, see this, amount of time it will take! Total package! My daughter nicknamed the guy Tom the tour guide which tell's you how much she enjoyed listening to him. Made an eventful day that much more exciting! Wish I could give 6 stars! So worth it!

GREAT travel app. My family wanted to do some casual driving tours without a lot of advance planning and research. This app totally saved the day! It is GREAT! Start a route anywhere, make some changes on the fly, no problem. Our handy guide adjusts and provides all sorts of interesting and useful information along the way, automatically triggered by reaching waypoints along the route. The audio is professionally recorded and well done. This is a great value.

Awesome... Gypsy Island was extremely helpful!! I can’t imagine driving around without it. Everything was spot on, made our trip extra special.

Maybe the best of few, but..... One big negative is that it assumes you will be doing the return route and will hear more then. There should be a way to set it to play all information as you pass, rather than only one direction. The narrator's pronunciation of Hawaiian is sometimes good, but sometimes not so much; most visitors probably won't notice. Historical information is interesting but spotty. It's enough to help visitors know more about the history and culture of this island, though. Since there isn't anything better as a road guide, this one is well worth getting to learn things as you drive. Supplement it with a good book to learn more when you're back at the resort. Hawaiian culture is fascinating; don't spend all your time on the beach. Get this app and take a drive!

Very enjoyable. I recommend this to everyone that stays in our vacation rental by the Volcano Can I recommend adding some Hawaiian music (Iz would be great) to the gap periods there can be long pauses and not always in radio zones

Awesome. We really enjoyed this app on our trip to the Big Island. Lots of history and good clear directions. We traveled all over the island and this app had something to add to the experienced the whole way. Has a couple minor bugs, but it did not take away from the experience. Love this app. This is a fantastic app. This was our first time to the Big Island and just about anywhere you go is a bit of a drive. I learned so much about hawaii that I didn't know from the previous trips that I have taken. We used to just listen to music or nothing, but this tour kept us totally engaged for the full day of driving an touring. I initially bought the Volcanoes app because I didn't see the full island one. After using the Volcanoes NP app, I immediatley bought the full Island version when we got back to continue our trip. We are going to Kauai next and wish there was a version for there. I'll definitely get a GyPSy guide whenever it is available for my next trips.

Absolute must for travelers. I don't know who introduced this to us, but it was an absolute gem, I reluctantly bought Maui tour guide, Road to Hana and we were blown away by the info, direction and quality of app. I bought Big Island tour before we started off. It's a big App due audio files, so be sure to be connected to wifi when installing. Totally recommend this to anyone who is driving around to see a place.

Amazing app. This is one of the best purchases I made on the Big Island. What a terrific way to learn about the area and the directions were impeccable. I will be purchasing this app first thing when I visit other islands rather than waiting until my visit was nearly over. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Recent user. This is an indispensable guide. We went all over the island with this ingenious app which narrated our every step. Very user friendly, beamed through the car radio via Bluetooth, we learned so much more about our surroundings. The voice, cadence, timing and content were excellent. A must for all who visit that have access to a car.

Don’t buy it if you have the one for Maui. We covered Maui and then went to Big Island. We liked the Maui app so much that we bought this however this was a real let down I terms of many areas: 1. Majority of commentary is same as Maui specially on long drives 2. It does not have some key points - green sand beach; captain cook’s landing; 3. Does not have much of info for kona side of island.

Very highly recommended. We named the app "Marcus" and he was very helpful and informational during our drive around the Big Island. We mapped out our route around the island beforehand and he provided us with tips and suggestions for places to eat, scenic views, and historical landmarks to visit. He provided clear directions and fun facts along the way. Highly recommended!!

Excellent travel companion. Covered 95% of the sites I wanted to see on the Big Island. Saved tons of hours of research and supplemented the long drives with relevant histories and added even more stops than I originally planned to do.

Well done! Loved this app.. If you are planning on driving around the big island this app is incredible. It gives you pointers and time estimations on points of interest. We would have missed some spectacular views without this app. Also it gives you a lot of history on long drives(Volcano).

Wanted more. Yes this app guides you where to go and contains a few informative snippets as you drive along but there was so much more information that was missing we were disappointed.

But this app!. This app really enhanced our trip around the Big Island. The info is great - deep and layered and funny and just the right amount of it. It made a great trip even greater.

Big island tour --- Awesome!. This app was incredible! We did not go by the guided tour but just started driving. The app picked up where we were and would give suggestions as to where to go & what to do-- down to the local shops & native hangouts!! We highly recommend this app to anyone - veteran or novice- to use on their trip.

Good guide but. This is a nice way to drive around the island. One star removed because I like listening to music in the background, but once the guide starts talking, I have to manually go back to my music and press play to listen again. Then I have to switch back to this app. Annoying as heck and could potentially cause an accident if you don't have a passenger to do it for you. Fixing this would be a great improvement to this app.

Greatly enhanced our Big Island trip. Very easy to use and an exceptional value. Cheaper than a small nachos at the Hilton! I know a lot of people might crying but it's well worth the price. The narrator is great and the commentary is interesting and timely. It's set to go off at certain points on your trip so a mile or two before anything significant like a beach or landmark it'll come on. And when you're on a stretch of road with neither it will have some interesting island or Hawaiian history that usually ties in to something further up the road. Now that I've got it I wouldn't want to go on driving the rest of the island without it. You'll still have lots of time to chat with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The amount of commentary is just right and will only enhance your Big Island Experience.

Hawaii App. Best $10 wwe spent here. Love this app and makes us want to continue exploring. So helpful and this really is a virtual tour guide.

Get this app!!. We first found this app for Yellowstone National Park and decided in a whim to see if there was a similar app for The Big Island. We were so excited to see it in the App Store. I can't recommend this app enough. We took a full day and toured from Kona to Volcanoes National Park then on to Hilo and Honokaa and Waimea then back to Kona. It was about a 12 hour day but completely worth it! The tour guide (who we named Brad) was so informative and did not let you miss the most beautiful spots on the island. The tour includes a stop at Rainbow Falls (don't miss the Banyan forest to the left of the falls at the top) and Akaka Falls. We stopped for Malasadas at Tex's Diner. I highly recommend the Guava filling. This app made our day trip unforgettable! We also took a shorter trip a couple days later to the north coast through Hawi and down to Waipio Valley Lookout. This trip took about 3 1/2 hours and goes through some amazing landscapes. We were lucky enough to have a clear day and saw Mauna Kea. Again, get this app! It's totally worth the price. Best tour guide ever!

You must buy this app!. A friend had used one of their other apps on a different island and told us we needed to purchase this for the big island. The price was way more than I would ever pay for an app without a trial, but we went for it. We learned so much from the app. You do a lot of driving on the big island and this made it so much more interesting. You learn about what you are seeing, places to stop and even history. It was worth what we paid and so much more!
