A pleasure to use. I have been a keepass fan for 15 years. sense moving from the computer to iPhone, I never really found any good keepass apps. there was mini keepass, keepass touch, and another I forget the name of now. I tried them all, and was never pleased with them, until I found this app. as soon as I downloaded it, and ran it for the first time, I was extremely pleased. by the second use, I was already convinced I was going to purchase the lifetime license. so I did, and I would do it all over again. not only is this a great app, but the developer really cares about making his app usable by all. this is the first time I have ever given an app A five star rating. but this one was such a great experience that I just had to give it five stars. keep up the great work. I am also recommending this app to my friends and family for I believe they will enjoy the experience as much as I have.

Great password manager app. I’ve been using KeePass for many years and relied on a different password manager app to access my passwords from my iOS devices. I found this to be acceptable but didn't realize what I was missing all those years until I switched to Strongbox. What a difference! No more having to switch to a different app in the middle of logging in somewhere to grab the password. With StrongBox's integration with the login process and the Touch and Face ID unlock features, entering my passwords is never more than a couple of screen taps away. So easy! I keep my keepass file on Dropbox to be able to access it from multiple devices and it works like a charm. Highly recommended!

Essential KeePass Client. I’ve tried several KeePass clients on iOS over the years, including MiniKeePass and KeePass Touch, and Strongbox is by far the most polished and full-featured. Previously I had had several issues syncing my database after editing it on my phone, but syncing with Strongbox is seamless. It not only provides syncing directly with several online storage providers, it also integrates with iOS’s Files app, both of which have proved incredibly useful. Face/Touch ID is good as well, and the app can be configured to open a default database on startup, which makes accessing your database very easy. Overall this app is incredibly well-built. Thank you Mark!

Worth the money. I was using minikeepass for a while, and it was okay. I then started to see a lot of the features my friend was using with Bitwarden, but I had no desire to have third party hosting, neither did I want to deal with (IMO) their bad server decisions like Docker and MS SQL. I also already share a file across Nextcloud and my desktop/laptops so I wanted the convenience of keeping everything in one ecosystem. That’s when I came across Strongbox and gave it a spin, and man has it been great. I like that it integrates with iOS’ password manager integration, WebDAV support is great and the app is super easy to use. I didn’t bother finishing the trial, I paid the full boat pretty quick :) I’ve been recommending this app to anyone that wants to manage passwords on their phone. Worth every penny

Nice looking app, but iCloud Sync is lacking. I really like the way this app looks and I like all the options and workflow. Unfortunately it just doesn’t play well with KeePassXC on a Windows PC and iCloud. If I edit my database on my PC and use iCloud to sync the file it becomes unrecognizable in the Strongbox app. The file is perfectly viewable and up-to-date in the iCloud folder but Strongbox requires that I reattach the file any time it is changed on my PC. I read there are several workarounds including changing the way KeePassXC saves the file. But KeePassXC says it is dangerous to change the way the file is saved. I hope the Dev team can get this app to work better with Windows PCs in the future.

Best KeePass compatible password manager, hands down. I’ve been using the Windows version of KeePass for over ten years, but until I found Strongbox, didn’t have an easy way to have my password information easily and securely shared across my desktop and mobile devices. I used other apps that claimed to support the KeePass file format but they were clunky and poorly integrated with iOS. Strongbox solved all the problems I previously experienced. It has a great user interface and excellent integration with iOS. I can finally seamlessly and securely manage my passwords across all of my devices thanks to Strongbox

Overall a great experience using this app. I have this on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac mini, and sync my database to all 3 using Dropbox. With the vast majority of websites and apps, the integration from Strongbox to the login process is seamless and works perfectly. The user interface is also very nicely designed and mostly easy to use. The developer’s support response has been absolutely **phenomenal** every time I’ve written to them. They’re in the UK, so North American users should bear that in mind when waiting for a response. It seems as though they have someone manning their inbox during UK business hours on weekdays and occasional times on weekends. At any rate, they clearly put time and effort into any needed research and then provide timely and informative replies. Potential areas for improvement include: • sometimes the sync to my iPhone fails (on the positive side, I always tell it to use the automatic recovery and it’s worked flawlessly every time) • when the user is choosing a db export option, the app should make it more conspicuously obvious which ones export the data encrypted and which ones don’t (show this at the point where the decision is being made rather than just in the online help)

Really great app, great features. I remember emailing the devs about 2 features I thought were necessary in order to be on par with the features of other password managers and they told me that the 1st one was imminent and they were working on the 2nd. Within a week the 1st one came out and now the 2nd one did. Specifically, now you can set a short time in which the database doesn’t reprompt for your password. This password manager is obviously a little harder to set up and a little easier to lose your data, but that’s the price one pays for privacy and security.

Great KeePass iOS solution. Recently moved my vault from 1password to KeePassx and was a long time 1password user. Was bummed to read that there weren’t “good” iOS/MacOS options because I love the idea of possessing my own super sensitive information/passwords (which I know you can work around with 1password, but it’s a bit of a headache). So far this app has been awesome and worth the $$. I was spending far more on 1password. The only thing im missing is watch support, as I was able to store a few “favorites” in a simple watch interface on 1password. Mostly hospital door codes, and daily logins.

So glad I found. I’ve been using minikeepass for years and have been disappointed that it’s no longer supported. I put off trying to find a replacement, but finally decided to look. Within minutes of downloading this app, I was so delighted with its interface and functionality that I bought the lifetime pro version. It’s far better than minikeepass. Its excellent. The developer has created a much needed app. I wholeheartedly recommend and just purchased the pro version for another family member yesterday.

Excellent PW Security Tool. Our family began using the free Strongbox version several years ago, and purchased the full version about 4-5 years ago. We have never once been disappointed. It is very robust, with features that I have yet to even explore. We keep the primary database on iCloud and it is accessible to any of our household family members who needs to utilize it or update it. When we haven’t used it for a while, a simple opening of the app and a swipe down, updates us to the most recent database out of our iCloud storage. Updates and improvements are consistently made. We Highly recommend this app!

Hands down the #1 KeePass password manager!. I switched from MiniKeePass to Strongbox when MiniKeePass was removed from iOS. The transition was simple since all I had to do was import my database and I was up and running. Right away I knew I should have been on Stongbox a long time ago. This app is the best keepass app out there. It’s clean and super intuitive . I installed the OS X version on my MBP as well. Even though I do not use iCloud for my database storage, it is still great to have that as an option. This helps the user experience be seamless for Apple users. Using the pro features has been a game changer! Being able to open the app with FaceId on the phone and use my AppleWatch to authenticate on my MBP, has 100% helped my workflow. I try and have long, unique, and secure passwords. Strongbox allows me to quickly access and copy my data. I love the auto favicon download feature too. It’s the little things. If your like me and you’re a keepass person, I cannot recommend both the iOS and OSX apps of Strongbox.

Great app for keeping passwords. Some features I really like are the warnings for duplicated and weak passwords. Speed and reliability are very good too. I migrated from keepass and the integration with the opensource db format was a breath of fresh air in a world where companies make it a pain to migrate data. Only negative feedback was that the MacOS app and the iPhone app require seperate payments. When I paid for the Pro version I wrongly assumed it would cover both platforms. The iphone app appears to have more functionality than the desktop app.

Just what I was looking for!. After searching for approximately six hours for a suitable non-subscription-model, open-source, actively developed password manager, I discovered a discussion headed by Mark regarding Strongbox on sourceforce, describing the program that I sought. I haven't looked back. I'm got both the ios version on an iPad and the mac version. I'm using iCloud sync for my everyday personal database and it works great. I also have a database in a shared folder in dropbox with the typical shared passwords that spouses have to manage. Selecting a database on either icloud or dropbox is very straightforward. My wife is now using passwords that don't make me cringe! Buy it.

Great Password Manager. When looking for a password manager I wanted something secure, easy to use, and based on proven open source formats. I also did not want to be locked into a cloud-only based solution. Strongbox ticked all the boxes and then some. I have been a long time user of the IOS version of Strongbox and could not be happier with my choice. The developer seems very engaged in adding value and funtionality to this product which is reasuring whenever I purchase an app. Definately worth a try if you are in the need of a password manager.

Great Customer Support, and Everything Else Too!. I’m using strongbox across 3 devices and I love it. While there are many great features, the absolute best thing I can say is that the customer support is far and away Bette than anything else out there. I have become sadly accustomed to robotic email responses that don’t come close to answering my questions. But, with strongbox, a real human answers my emails, always within 24 hours and always with a helpful answer. Please don’t ever stop this invaluable service. Worth every penny I spent on the the Pro version!

Best app for KeePass users. I love KeePass on Windows, but could never find a client app for iPad and Mac (until now). Strongbox works great on iPad, including perfect auto fill in Safari, as good or better than any other password manager available. The Mac version also works well in Safari. I’m using OneDrive to sync. Just copy your database file to the root of OneDrive, and everything will sync automatically. I would also suggest that you do not open the database with multiple devices at the same time. Also copy your key file to a local directory if using the cloud for your database file. I have a 30 year background in programming (now retired), and I can highly recommend Strongbox for KeePass users. Please support this developer! Twelve dollars per year is nothing for such a quality password manager.

Best Password Manager - avoid a vendor lock-in with this app!. This app is the one I use the most on my iPad - my personal #1 app. A good password manager makes daily use so much easier and is essential for your own security. I use it not only for passwords, but also for other sensitive information (e.g. ID data) that should not be stored unprotected. What makes this password manager stand out: - I don't know of any password manager with a better feature set (and I've tested many). - The product is actively supported. The developer takes suggestions for improvement and makes the app even better with each release. - There is no compulsion to use a vendor cloud solution. A cloud solution - however it is designed - always has the potential security risk of a design flaw or hack! That is not the case here. - The password database is stored using an open database format. There are open source solutions for access on any platform. So access / export of your own password database is always guaranteed. With many other proprietary solutions you have a vendor lock-in after a very short time, you cannot export your data. Migrating hundreds of passwords manually is not an option. If such a vendor would stop providing the service you would have a big problem - and we are not talking about loosing access to some cloud stored holiday pictures.

Best option for iOS. As a KeePass power user (over 900 entries), I am on the prowl for the most safe, user-friendly, and reliable KeePass app on iOS. Originally a MiniKeePass user, it started to fail me when I was locked out of my own database because MiniKeePass did not support Argon2 encryption algorithm. Luckily, I searched on Reddit's /r/KeePass subreddit, and found StrongBox was on the list of official recommendations for iOS. Sure enough, not only did it support Argon2 encryption, but it offered a whole host of nitfy features that MiniKeePass lacked, such as FaceID unlock (humongous game-changer in saving time from punching in passwords), easily visible TOTP token keys that you can copy & paste, and also Favicons that are preserved. I cannot express how impressed I am with StrongBox, it's the level of functionality and features that reminds me of Android's KeePass2Android, but even superior. Do yourself a favor and grab the Pro version, and support this wonderful developer! Being open-sourced, vetted, and safe is important to me, and StrongBox checks all these boxes. I would highly recommend to my family and friends.

Awesome App and Excellent Support!. I had been using 1Password for about 10 years and wanted better flexibility with choice of Cloud service and/or local DB storage. Strongbox turned out to be the winner! Migrating from 1Password was smooth and I was able to choose my preferred cloud storage with ease. During the switchover I reached out to Strongbox support with a cloud question connectivity and got an answer that same day! Excellent service and support. If you’re on the fence with making a password manager decision with full feature functionality, Strongbox is it!

Great software and continuously improving. I’ve been using Strongbox for nearly four years. The software has come a long way and keeps improving with more quality of life features and streamlined organization. If you’re in the market (and you really should be), give this software a shot. It integrates seamlessly between my devices. Mark is a dedicated developer, so I think you will feel well-supported should you encounter any issues. When I first started using the password manager, he responded immediately to a fairly consequential bug that I encountered. It was patched quickly, and I became a Strongbox user for life.

Cybersecurity Pro Recommended!. This is not a paid for review. I don’t know anyone nor do I have any affiliation with anyone at strongbox but I do work in the cybersecurity field & highly recommend this app. If you value your privacy & security then why would you trust someone else to manage & keep your passwords safe? With Strongbox - you’re in complete control of your passwords. I’ve only had 1 issue since I started using it & support was wet responsive & had the issue resolved in less than 24 hours.

Best iPhone password manager hands down.. I originally used 1Password. Then, they switched to subscription model. I got the message and immediately looked for a new app. Strongbox integrated with KeePassXC and since I switched, I’ve not looked back. The developers are responsive to issues it’s had, it maintains my passwords safely, it has a ton of great features, including TOTP, which really ups the game, especially since it stores things with strong encryption algorithms like argon and AES 256. Beautifully done. Use this app almost daily.

Excellent. One of the very best password apps I’ve used. I like that it will directly use a database on a cloud service. This eliminates the need to manually sync it like some other apps, so it’s convenient to access the same database on all my devices. I use keepass on my PCs these days. I also like that it shows the password strength. The free version is perfectly fine - there is a nag to upgrade but it’s better than dealing with ads like on some other free apps. It also limits use of face or Touch ID to open the database. Anyway there is a lifetime license that seems like the best option for full functionality. There’s a bunch of advanced features as well.

Outstanding Password Manager. I discovered Strongbox Pro (iOS) after MiniKeePass disappeared from the App Store back in the November 2019 timeframe. The developers have continued to significantly improve the product over the years and have been very responsive on the few occasions when I have contacted them. Strongbox Pro sets the standard from a security, compatibility, portability, and feature perspective and is leveraged daily by every member of my family (including myself) to store and protect their vital information. Please keep up the excellent work!

Some strange choices so far. I saw the rave reviews so I’m trying out this app. So far, I’ve noticed some odd choices: when creating a vault, the app does not confirm your password, so if you mistype it, you’d have no idea. Second, the app offers to print this password “for safekeeping”… except in order to print from an iPhone, the contents of the page to be printed are transmitted in cleartext to the iOS printing subsystem, then in cleartext across whatever wireless network you’re connected to, received in cleartext by the printer or print server, and every printer I’ve used can/does cache print jobs for later retrieval. So in the first minute of having the app, you might have unknowingly mistyped your password but you can just ask anyone on your network or with access to your printer what it is.

If its not Tim Apple’s #1 passcode manager, it should be!. Having purchased my first Apple device (ipad mini5) in 2020, I was looking for a solid password manager to run my kdbx files. I narrowed it down to two choices: Strongbox and Keepassium. Since they both offered free trials, I evaluated them side by side. Both developers are responsive professionals and both have created fine applications. Ultimately, I deleted Keepassium and chose to purchase a pro lifetime subscription to Strongbox. I am highly satisfied with Mark’s app. The deciding factor was simple: my eye preferred the sexy look and slick feel of Strongbox. It runs perfectly, it’s easy to use, and does exactly what I need it to do while maintaining bomb proof security. Even though it is more work, I choose to manually sync the database files with my Tresorit account. But Strongbox does feature auto-sync compatibility with other cloud storage companies if I change my mind. Thank you so much for creating (and maintaining) such a exceptional application! It is one of my all time favorites because it’s a solid and indispensable app for serious users.

It’s the extra features that put Strongbox ahead.. A KeePass client needs to do one thing really well: safely and efficiently handle KeePass databases. Strongbox does so, and then excels with features such as on-device auditing, a duress-based dummy database, an option for a local-only database, and a timed convenience unlock for auto fill separate from the timed unlock for the app. These unique features and more are on top of all of the other standard features common in the other quality KeePass clients. The app works well, does what I need it to do, and offers a supportive dev. There’s also a MacOS app, for the brand-loyal folks out there. After coming to my senses and losing all faith in the big name, trust us with all your info password managers (Lastpass, 1Password, etc.), I and many others have found the glory that is the self-maintained KeePass database. For that, Strongbox is your way to go.

Best Password Manager Hands-Down. I thought I had a problem and reached out to the Strongbox team. Mark responded and assured me that it was not a problem. He quickly pointed me in the right direction to configure Strongbox to the way I needed. Super fast customer support! I had been a user of KeePass for years and was looking for an iOS solution. Strongbox was it! It’s simple to use, but yet it’s powerful. There’s no better convenience than being able to make a password change in Strongbox with my phone, have it sync the database to my Dropbox account and then pick up my tablet or login to Windows and voila, the updated password is there. You can access the database by the traditional method of a master password, or by Face ID, PIN, or fingerprint. No need for my phone to save website passwords in its memory, I just configured my phone to use the Strongbox database on Dropbox. If you are looking for an app that can integrate your Windows and iOS password management, look no further!

Amazing app. Strongbox is an exceptional app that has greatly improved my password management experience. This application offers a seamless and secure way to store and organize all of my passwords. From the moment I started using Strongbox, I have been impressed with its user-friendly interface and robust features. One of the standout features of Strongbox is its ability to generate strong and unique passwords for all of my accounts. This ensures that my passwords are secure and not easily guessable by hackers. Additionally, the app allows me to securely store all of my existing passwords, eliminating the need to remember them or write them down on paper. What I truly appreciate about Strongbox is its cross-platform functionality. Whether I'm using my smartphone, tablet, or computer, I can easily access and sync my passwords across all of my devices. This convenience has made managing my passwords a breeze, saving me time and effort. Furthermore, Strongbox employs top-notch encryption techniques, providing me with peace of mind knowing that my sensitive information is safe.

I don’t buy many apps…. But I bought a lifetime subscription for this one. I’ve been using KeePass for as long as it has been out and Strongbox has been my go to for KeePass on the iPhone for a long time. It is, by far, the most fully featured KeePass management tool I’ve used on iOS devices (and I’ve installed and used dozens of not 100+ over the years). Strongbox is also much more actively developed and the developer is incredibly responsive to questions, bugs and issues. The only thing I could wish for is the ability to use the Synology Drive sync’d version of the database instead of WebDAV. That, however, is an iOS and Synology issue and at least Strongbox has provided a workaround. Again, this isn’t a fault of Strongbox, it’s an iOS fault. In short, not only is Strongbox worth using, it’s worth paying for and in my case that is saying a LOT.

Great Product !. Strongbox is the password manager I have been looking for! With the proper cloud security provider it is the best way to keep passwords in sync across all your devices! The developer is always actively improving the app and gets back to users in a reasonable time frame for support! Looking forward to using it with my team! Update: After using Strongbox for several years I have to say that it is excels at what it is supposed to accomplish. The only new feature that would be great is to eventually add support for Passkeys.

Great App, Great Security, Great Support. Strongbox gives me the strong 2FA security I needed based on a Yubikey NFC I wear around my neck. On top of that...it's also a great app! The UI is good and powerful and unlike previous password apps on my phone, Strongbox is so good that I can easily create and update entries instead of waiting until I got to a computer. I've used it for years interchanging Keepass files with KeepassXC on multiple PC's. Now I've added Strongbox on my Mac to the list. File remains in the cloud and is updated by any device. Strongbox also keeps working in a cached mode if you're out of IP contact. The app continues to improve and when there is an issue or problem (mostly caused by cloud providers or OS updates), it's addressed right away. All things considered, it's a real bargain and it lets me control my passwords. Simply priceless.

Strongbox is just so good. Leaps and bounds above the rest, easily worth it for lifetime.. I have a lot of miles on this app and can’t emphasize it enough: this is the best password manager I have ever used. And I've used a lot of them — none of them came close to this app. None of Bitwarden, 1password, 10+ ‘kee’ apps, MS/Google auth, etc. could compare to the functionality you get from strongbox. The pass generator is the best of them all, and backing up is super easy. The membership is worth more than it charges, it’s such an important app for me. I can’t wait for a PC release of this. Don’t hesitate on it, just try the free version and see how it is (make sure you turn the auto fill on in iPhone settings). A feature I’d like to see is an easier way to organize entries with an active TOTP. I made a 2nd database for TOTP accounts because of my difficulty finding them when they’re mixed up with non-TOTP entries. And (might be a bug) it doesn’t seem possible to custom sort them in the ‘totp list’ format. *To add to that, if the totp list could be more like a grid (with 2/3 on each ‘row’) it would be way quicker to get to. Considering some expire quickly it can be an issue having to scroll through a long list of individual entries. Thanks for the amazing password manager! Serious props to the dev, you made a really great program. It’s the most important app on my phone, without a doubt.

Best Keepass-Compatible iOS Application ⭐️. I have used several password managers on the iOS platform in the past decade, and Strongbox definitely stands out as the best among the crowd. Not only does Strongbox provide and deliver the minimal expectations that I had for the application, but it far exceeds and sets the standards for most if not all of the freemium applications on the market on several key bullet points such as constant reliability, UI/UX, aesthetics, relevant yet ever-increasing features, consistent key updates, well-documented website and just overall wholesomeness from the devs for providing academic licensing for students, academic and social activists. I have been impressed thus far and I strongly recommend for users to give it a chance to impress you!

Great stuff. Despite using this as a companion to KeePassXC, I’d say this app is more intuitive. It’s the most “just works” app for KeePass I’ve encountered. The random generator is one of my favorites—I love being able to generate names, word pairs, and passphrases which pick from multiple word lists. (Although I don’t know if entries are de-duplicated…need to look into that.) Having color-coded passwords and being able to set a custom adversary strength are also lovely features. The only thing that regularly trips me up is needing to open the app manually to sync databases. Still, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Best KeePass app, and I’ve tried them all. This is, by far, the best KeePass app o the iPhone, and I’ve tried them all. Even better, it just gets better and better with every release, and the developer is super responsive to feedback and questions. I used to be a little less enthusiastic about recommending the Mac version at a extra cost, but now that it’s a universal app it’s an even more exciting bargain, but I feel no regret for having paid for both versions prior to that change — it is worth every penny. Auto-merging conflicts, reliable auto-fill support, great integration w/ cloud providers, database auditing, and a ton of other great quality of life features.

One word…… Wow. There used to be only one app I would recommend and that was Carrot Weather. Now there is two. Coming from 1Password, Strongbox is hands down the best password manager for iOS and macOS. I’ve been using it for about 3 months now and I have gone through and cleaned up all my passwords based on audit report. Love the level of customization and how clean it looks. The only thing I’d like to maybe see in the future is themes (different colors, fonts, etc). Other than that this app is a 10 out of 10.

Essential App! Keeps getting better!. I have used the open source pwd mgr "Password Safe" on Windows for many years. I keep my pwd database on Dropbox which easily allows my wife and I to access from any of our Win computers. Until just a couple of years ago, there really wasn't an option on my phone. When Strongbox came along, everything changed! Now I can access my same database from Strongbox (which supports Dbox and others) so I have access to all my pwd and other impt personal data, and it can never be lost! It's really impressive how polished and powerful the app has become in such a short time. As painful as it might be, I think not being able to access the dbase without the master pwd is the only reason I would use the app much less pay for it!

Easy to use. Update 16 Jun 2019 Continues to improve. With KeePass able to sync with Desktop. Awesome! Update 11 Dec 2018 This app with its cloud syncing abilities, allows one to have ready access across different devices. Unlike some reviews states, it is NOT hard to use. The fact one can store previous passwords permits one to see passwords that have previously been used and avoid reusing them. The price is not onerous and as a one time deal one doesn’t incur monthly charges. For my needs this is IDEAL and one of the most used app across my devices. Support is fast and responsive. VERY happy with my decision to down load this and also to upgrade. I have had this for several years, originally downloading this when all functions were free. I upgraded so I could have a second licker to share with my wife. SO worth it. This app is priced right and easy to use. Support is quick and responsive.

Nice Replacement for MiniKeepass. After restoring my iPhone and finding that MiniKeepass (MKP) no longer existed, it was nice to find this app. Very professional look and feel. The sync improvement and Touch/FaceID extras make it more convenient to use than MKP. I hope you are around for a long time. Thank you for developing the app. Keep up the good work. I’ve just started using it, so I will update review after some time has passed. So, here I am again to say Strongbox is THE app to use. Robust, stable, secure, and extremely flexible. What more can we ask for in a password locker. I have sooooo many passwords and to have flawless synchronization across all my devices is a serious time saver. Keep up the good work Mark!

Great App Support. I had an issue with OneDrive and out in a support request. It was a Sunday but I still received a response back with in an hour or so giving me details on the issue I was having and what was being done to resolve it. Within a few days Strongbox support sent me an email that they had the issue resolved and a new update was available on the App Store. The update resolved my issue and actually added additional functionality. Great support experience…best I have had with any App Store developer.

Very Happy with product!. As a follow up it appears my issues have been resolved due to user error so I’m quite happy to up my rating to a 5+++. I was happy when I discovered your app worked with my “Password Safe” files on my iPhone. I was even happier when I found you also had an app for the MacBook. At one point I paid the $9.95 annual subscription on my iPhone. Wrongly I thought it also covered the MacBook but I can deal with that. What upsets me is tonight I went to add a contact to the database and found out the “URL” and “Email” fields are suddenly grayed out and I can’t input information in those fields. Additionally in reviewing many of my older contacts I’ve realized that no email or url fields are populated any more. I didn’t have them populated in all of my contacts but did in some as I have several different emails. I’m unsure why this feature is grayed out and unavailable to me. I’m sorry there was no other easier way for me to contact you without writing a review.

I’m hooked!. When my prior free password manager closed shop I kind of freaked out because I became reliant on it. I was hesitant to select this app because all of terminology and security I didn’t (and still don’t) understand. I’ve had this app for several years now, annual fee paid because I didn’t want to do the lifetime subscription and have it close on me also. Now I’m considering the lifetime subscription because I have faith this app is secure, won’t go away anytime soon and does everything I need in a password manager. I love the fact my KDBX file is stored on my home PC rather than a website or cloud server. It’s easy to use, especially for a novice like me.

Strongbox on iPhone. I have used various password managers over the last 10 years as a former IT guy. I had settled on Keepass as the best solution for my needs at home and work the last few years. When it was announced Keepass was leaving us, I was not a happy camper. I saw the great reviews for Strongbox and decided to go with it. To my surprise, Strongbox was an amazing app to manage passwords and logins on my iPhone. It does everything i need it to accomplish and I'm satisfied with the security as well as the quick responses from customer service when i have a question. Highly recommended !

MiniKeePass users!. Like me I bet you are looking for a replacement for minikeepass as I was. To suddenly have an app get dropped by it’s developer, especially if you’re like me and have relied on it for years can really upset the cart. StrongBox was the first app I looked at and was the only one that was simple to migrate too with my existing database without losing information. It also offers syncing through iCloud files, which actually is easier than the constant export and import of databases that was needed to keep other devices up to date using Dropbox. I haven’t registered it yet (and I intend to as soon as I get back to work) but already the free version has replaced minikeepass and is already easier to use. Absolutely check it out!

Interest to sorrow to happiness. BLUF: great app, great tech support! This app seemed pretty neat and I was hoping it would solve my problems. After some hiccups, which were my fault, things were looking up. Until I ran in to more issues, which were again my fault. I tried to follows the directions finally but ended up screwing that up too. So I reached out on Reddit hoping for anyone that could help. The dev got back to me very quickly and knew exactly what I had done. There was even a TTP/FAQ for my situation. The dev gave me the link and I followed th me directions this time. Now all is well! Thank for the great app and great support!

Rage review. Disclaimer: I own the pro version of this app but more eyes will see this review under the free version. This is the best password manager on the store, hands down. I have autistically tried them all over the years and can say this is by far the best. The only alternatives that even compared had their companies bought out by 1password just so they could remove the competition. It’s definitely not the prettiest but what it sacrifices in aesthetic it gains from in actual competency in security. I’d give this review an extra dozen stars if I could just because they don’t constantly nag me to subscribe to an app I’ve already paid hundreds of dollars for like the others.

Perfect app for managing/using KeePass on iOS!. As far a personal security goes, maintaining total, offline, encrypted, and portable control over your own password database is the best way to go. KeePass is a great utility to make this possible. Even better is being able to simply and seamlessly configure, manage, protect, and use your own KeePass database wherever/however you prefer through native iOS and/or macOS applications with all the ease-of-use integrations they afford. I‘d totally recommend Strongbox for those reasons to anyone looking into implementing KeePass passwords on Apple devices! By far out of all the other KeePass apps, extensions, etc. that I’ve tried, Strongbox does the best at abstracting away the back-end complexities while still providing all the native iOS/macOS functionalities so that even non-technically minded folks could pick it up quickly. I’ve even personally recommended it to my parents who were recently trying to beef up their password security.

This is reaaaally nice. Thank you!. I've been using pass for sometime now, but always wanted to switch because gpg is annoying (and i don't plan on sinking hours trying to learn it) Long story short, discovered Password Safe and the associated projects. I was able to quickly setup the dropbox integration with 0 issues. The free version already has features i didn't think i wanted, but having them is nice (e.g. read-only db, auditing) The UI is slick and professional. Feels like a much needed upgrade from what i had before. Thank you for putting in the time to create this. Very much appreciated! If this new setup continues working for me this week, I'll definitely be getting the pro version.

Fantastic password software!. This is a fantastic password manager, lots of features that come in useful to keep you secure. Functionality is incredible and it has a responsive dev team as well!

Useless app. Useless app. It doesn’t auto fill passwords even if this app is the only allowed app for auto fill passwords in settings. When try to use auto fill it keeps asking to unlock the DB again even though the DB just was unlocked before trying auto fill. Even worst, no matter how much I try it won’t unlock the DB during that auto fill routine. Basically you need to go to the stupid app and copy password and come back and paste it. Which is not secure and negates the use of the app. Wouldn’t recommend this app.

Nextcloud!. It’s great that the app supports Nextcloud. Nextcloud is my preferred option because I prefer my data to be stored on my own server rather than on someone else’s.

Hard not to love a standard done for free. File format is open source standard and compatible cross platform. App is free and delivers on the promise. What is there not to love?

Love it. I just use it to store passwords which it does very well.

Feature rich and great support. I switched to Strongbox from another password manager recently and I'm paying for the Pro subscription. It has all of the features I need and want and I can securely store my passwords, important notes, files such as scanned copies of licenses and passports, etc. Strongbox uses open standard file formats for the password vault so you can take you vault to another software if you need to. There is a great iPhone and iPad companion app. You can sync through various protocols and cloud providers. I had trouble using the secure notes feature and I contacted support. They helped sort out my problem straight away. Very helpful and friendly staff. Thanks.

Great KeePass app for iOS. Excellent UX and lots of nifty features not available in other KeePass clients. Highly recommended.

Simply the best password manager. I don’t know what I would do without this app. Super easy to use, full of features and gives you peace of mind your passwords are safe. Support is super responsive (within 24 hours) and the developer is genuinely interested in constantly improving the app wherever possible. Totally worth the purchase price!

Recommended. I am using Strongbox since August 2021 really worth trying if your on Mac / iPad / iPhone 1/ Smaller risk footprint - no browser extensions ( yay !) - it uses Apple's own Autofill to fill credentials in Safari 2/ Its opensouce based - KeePass 3/ License purchase OR subscription - your choice 4/ Store your database where you want. iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive and Microsoft Onedrive, Webdav support, sync to desktop on LAN or local on device only. (No mandatory need for MY data to be held only on a developers server at MY risk ) 5/ pleasant, responsive support folk. No snarky attitude. I suggest take a look at their website for more insights.

Proven KeePass for iOS. As a long time user of KeePass on Windows and KeePassX (soon KeePassXC) on Mac, and needing to upgrade from the no longer supported MiniKeePass, this seems to be the most proven and currently supported app for iPhone and iPad. Works well with my KeePass file from Win/Mac.

Best password safe for iOS. This app picks up the safe file from Google Drive (two factor authentication) and it does not require the upload of safe file to other app's cloud. Then with key paraphrase and touch Id. This app is awesome.

Last patch kills one drive.. App crashes everytime when trying to read from one drive. Edit: may just be iOS 13 and not the app...

The best password manager. Ever.. It’s got PIN+biometric locking. It can pull the database from cloud services. 2FA autofill, pwned checking, strength checking, the works, favicon downloading, the works. And these extras are on top of being a rock-solid password manager/KeePass client. It’s flawless. It’s even, dare I say, enjoyable to use. The interface makes checking the details of each of my accounts enjoyable, with the extra touches like favicons and password strength details. Whether you use the free or paid version, it’s utterly fantastic. Hats off to the developer/s, not even 1Password or LastPass has built such a fantastic piece of software.

Strongbox-Solid app with excellent support. I have been using the free version of Strongbox for iPhone and found it to be an excellent app to store documents, important photos and of course passwords. With every update it has improved. Today I had need to access their support help by email and was very pleasantly surprised to receive a correct answer to my query in a couple of hours. Kudos to this team who provide prompt support even for a free version of their app. Thanks guys.

Broken touchid means broken app. Sadly my iPad has a broken touchid and when opening the app it says it requires touchid to unlock. Is there any way to continue to us this app or am I needing to cancel my subscription?

Recommended. This is the best keepass app I’ve used. So straight forward and options are great. A+

The best KeePass client by far.. When I changed to Apple iOS from a competing mobile device operating system, one of the very first things I did was look for a suitable KeePass client... I tried a couple, but none of them met my requirements and they all left me wanting. Then I found Strongbox. Not only does Strongbox look fantastic, but it works flawlessly and the developer updates the application on a regular basis... On those rare occasions I have had issues, the developer has been quick to address these issues either via a response to my (Apple App Store) review or via updates directly. Other users can whinge all they want about this being expensive, but I think the high price tag is justified if one wants to avoid ongoing subscription fees - after all, one will be getting updates / upgrades forever after paying the one-off fee... In closing; this application is VERY highly recommended, to all users.

Fantastic app and support. I’ve tried a number of other apps but this one has the goods. Stable, integrates with ease, sleek and no subscription. And if needed, the support is great too.

Great App. Easy and intuitive to use

Great password safe. This is the best password safe app I’ve found. It’s simple to use and has plenty of space for any notes etc. support is excellent. I had a glitch after upgrading my phone and Mark replied quickly. I’m up and running again. Handy too that I can store my safe in the cloud, either Dropbox or iCloud.

Great replacement for miniKeePass. Was looking for a suitable replacement for the now discontinued MiniKeePass on my iPad and iPhone. Strongbox had all the good security reviews and porting over the data from KeePass was simple. Plenty of functionality and no problems so far.

Best IOS app for KeePass databases!. Been using Strongbox’s free tier for a while now, and it has to be one of the best for IOS! Extremely fast interface alongside great features that are only found on this app. Overall a great app and a good tool for keeping your passwords secure!

Great app. Leaves me in control of my data

Love this app!. I rely on it!

More features limited in free version. Been using free version for a while. Looks like you won’t be able to use Face ID for example in free version soon. Unless you want to pay $4 per month, better find an alternative. KeePassium does same things for me for free.

Best password manager by far. Excellent KeePass compatible password manager for iOS. All the benefits of a local/private KeePass database with iOS’s auto fill feature. However there’s a glitch auto fill feature in the latest version/update: auto fill is only currently working in the Safari app. In all other apps (eg Firefox, AirBnB, Uber, etc), the auto fill feature is broken & not auto filling usernames & password. An update to fix this would be appreciated.

Makes strong passwords easy. This app makes doing passwords the right way, so much easier. Thanks!

Perfect match for Keepass. Perfect match for Keepass, syn well on different platforms

Extensively tested - best by far. Updated 19 October Still the best if it’s class. Spend the money and support the developers, they deserve the credit. Simply a great app. (Updated to 5 stars after 12 months of Pro use.) Initially I though this app was a bit too expensive, but after using it for 12 month’s, I now think it is very reasonably priced. The app works well, has plenty of features, is regularly updated and the developer responds to issues quickly. The password file works seamlessly with the password file from KeyPass (Windows 10), meaning the one file can be synchronised between the two systems. What more could you ask for.

Again, can it make my coffee?. I’ve been a supporter of this developer and app for years, seeing Strongbox through its partial evolution.. I use it almost daily and it’s really only gotten better. For a developer that doesn’t have the manpower of which you’d see by a AAA company this app is absolutely incredible in terms of quality control, function and support. I’ll be a subscriber for years without a doubt.

Fully offline on iOS with 2FA via Yubikey. For my use case on iOS, this was the only password manager that allowed for a fully offline password database protected with a yubikey. I manually copy the password database between my iPhone and laptop, and it is not even on iCloud. The good thing is that it does support iCloud and other cloud storage if you need it.

Great app. Have heard great things about this app, and it is a very solid iOS KeePass client with very nice UI too. Overall nice experience.

Was great.. Until they decided to move critical features to premium. Free is fine for a trial, but otherwise useless now. I’d consider premium at half what they’re asking. Edit: Rating was due to bait and switch tactics, not pricing. I’ve bumped the rating in any case, and changed my pricing “suggestion”. All the best.

Too many nag screens. "ask me later?" Who are you? Jimmy Wales?

Fantastic product. It works really well and allows me to use OneDrive to have the same passwords available on iPad,iPhone and PC. I can also easily share them with my wife. Recently when Microsoft broke the access to OneDrive the developers worked quickly to find a solution and publish it

It was good until deleted all my passwords. App is fairly easy to use, very basic and simple options to use and I was satisfied until all my passwords just disappeared from app without any obvious reason. It happened overnight while phone was next to me. And loosing all passwords from password keeper is something unacceptable.

Great app, great support. Very happy with this Password manager. I also recent had an issue with the integration with gdrive and the team were incredibly helpful in helping me resolve it - thanks! Keep up the great work.

Best Native Keepass Apple Client. After experimenting with alternative password managers, I've settled on Strongbox being the best Mac/iOS client for Keepass.

Best Password Manager. I have been using Keepass on my PC for few years now and the strongbox app is the perfect phone companion. Works flawlessly and kudos to the developer for rolling out fixes and new features on a frequent basis.

It works. I had some issues with the app but the were disappeared after choosing the right file providers. This app works 🙂

Awesome app! Great support!. Great keepass client, clean and simple with great developer support! So glad I found this.

Customer for life. I've been a KeyPass user for many years across a variety of platforms/devices/operating systems. In this time I've used a myriad of different apps for managing my databases, and Strongbox is hands down the best app I have used. It's clear that a lot of time and attention has gone in to not just the big obvious features, but also the general user experience, especially across multiple platforms. I use this app on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook (sharing my DB's using the built in iCloud syncing) and thoroughly recommend you do too.

Just Terrific. A great app which stands out from a fairly crowded sector,

Great little password app. Great little app for passwords and other info. Compatible with PasswordSafe database files, sync mobile and desktop copies via Dropbox. Just needs password history, please.

Strongbox a reliable app. Very good, flexible. I use webdav to sync with nextcloud, this is quite reliable, but a little tricky to setup. The app is very good. I do edits with the app and sync the changes. The app can handle conflicts by merging, this works well every time. No issues, I recommend this app.

Awesome app. Works every time, interface is great.

Great app really improves over keepass. Great features like sync and haveibeenpwned integration really set it apart

Excellent Yubikey integration. Easy to use and works very well with Yubikey.

One Word: Excellent. This is by far the best KeePassXC iOS client out there! The people behind this project are good, hard working people who genuinely seem to care about security and privacy. I definitely recommend this app to everyone who uses KeePassXC (ps. You should all use KeePassXC). When my two month free trial ended, I could barely tell that it had. That’s how good the free version is but that makes you want to get the premium one even more because the developer/developers truly deserve the money.

Better than ever - way better than others. I've been using Strongbox for years, after switching away from 1Pass. I'm very satisfied with Strongbox - it's reliable, effective, and stable. I use databases shared across devices and with multiple people. I use database auto-unlock (with biometrics). OTP's are easy to setup and use. If you want your password storage to be under your control, you won't find anything better than Strongbox.

Pro is well worth the money. Hey Mark, amazing product. Only one thing keeping it from being perfect (although I did rate it a 5 stars) is seamless input of OTP like we have for passwords. It gets a bit cumbersome having to manually open the app to find the OTP, copy, and then paste. An autofill feature if possible would truly make this app perfect for me.

Gratis version has everything I need. This app is free and open source. The gratis version does everything that you would expect from a KeePass compatible app, including bonuses such as random username generation. The kdbx file can be synced with Dropbox or similar services. Note that the Tags feature may not be compatible with other KeePass apps (such as KeePassXC on desktop). Use Notes instead.

Good One!. Good keepass alternative and secure solution.

The best Keepass manager. I’ve tried and/or studied the different options to manage my Keepass database on ios, and have found that the 2 best are this one, and Keepassium slighly behind. I am now evaluating the pro version on the free trial, and I am quite impressed. I am considering moving from Enpass because the non-proprietary format of Keepass allows for other options should a particular password manager go out of business. Since I don’t like the subscription model, I would have to buy the one-time license… it is quite a steep price so I will have to decide if it’s worth it after my evaluation is complete.

Very functional. Fully functional and easy to use!

Very satisfied. I’ve been using Strongbox for several years and wouldn’t be without it. I keep hundreds of passwords for myself, clients (who keep them on paper or never write them down because they’ll remember), agencies I volunteer with, family, and so on. Great interface, kept up to date, Open Source!!!!!! Using kdbx format allows me to access passwords across all devices and OS. Thanks Strongbox.

Really good free tier features. like the title said. if i like what i see, im curious about the lifetime purchase.

Amazing app!. There is no better app if you want to be safe online. The synchronization with Google Drive and the ability to use fingerprint instead of a password is incredibly convenient!

Issue fixed.. Autofill issue seems to have been fixed with the last update. I had convenience pin turned on. Every time i opened the app to autofill it would fail to read key file and require me to enter masterpassword and set a new convenience pin.

Great App, Very Responsive Creator. Everything works so seamlessly (autofill and syncing), I often forget I am even using the app. The new audit features were the last things on my wishlist for the app, so I think it’s pretty much perfect at this point. The app creator is extremely responsive to bug fixes and feature requests (either via email, Reddit, or Github). I was trying to think of any cons to put in this review, but I honestly couldn’t think of any. If you use Keepass for password management, I think it would be silly to use any other app on iOS.

Excellent product!. I love how well it works! Highly recommend it when tied with KeePass and Google Drive.

Updated rating. I previously rated this app two stars because of what I believed to be an unfriendly pricing model and an obnoxious nagware pop up every day when I opened the freeware version. I am updating my review to three stars because it seems like the nagware pop up has been removed, or at least greatly reduced in frequency. Thank you to the developer. I still disagree with the pricing model but that’s the developer’s prerogative to set the price however they choose. It’s their livelihood, after all. I would likely purchase the app to support them if they offered a “lite” version at a reasonable *one-time* cost that provided the basics (open files, add/edit/remove entries, save files). I really don’t need the advanced features of the full price version. I urge them to consider this, as I’m sure it would attract many more buyers who are only looking for a simple way to store their passwords safely on their device. For those where price is no object, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the app.

Feels like a first party app!. Strongbox is an amazing iOS application that integrates exceptionally well with the iOS platform. While supporting multiple KeePass password safe standard, it manages to feel like a first-party experience rather than a cobbled together bunch of software libraries. Keep up the good work!

Strongbox rocks. Appreciate the academic license offer

Not quite there. Let me start out by saying that I want to use StrongBox, it’s got some great features, good flow; you can tell that Mark has put a lot of thought into the app. That said, I will probably look for something else. At least for me, it’s missing a ‘must have’ usability feature. I have been using MiniKeePass, and as many of you will know, it’s a little long in the tooth as well as being very basic. It’s no longer supported by the developer so I need a replacement. The one key feature it did support is TouchID. After using it for a while, I just can’t get by without it. If you are required to type in a 20 character password every time you open the app, you will go crazy. (I ended up doing a huge security no-no before Touch came along - I used a 4 digit code). I know, I’m ashamed. So unless you want spring for the paid version, you risk going down the same road I did and end up with a poorly protected password database. I would encourage Mark to rethink where he is drawing the line between the free and premium versions of the app. I am a developer and so I am completely onboard with making a living while supporting the community, and that’s why I’m spending the effort to write this review. I think the change will attract more users, that will then convert to paid users over time.

Best app for passwords management. I recommend Strongbox to everyone around me. It is the best solution to integrate a KeePass solution to your iOS devices. Mark is very supportive and helpful as well. You can be assured that both your privacy and your passwords are safe with this app.

Pricing. Best student pricing plan out there 👍👍👍

Great KeyPass app. I’m using this app to sync database to onedrive account, so that the database is available on PC’s too. App has had its quirks, but the developer works really hard to keep it patched, and is VERY responsive on e-mails for support. Even answering on the weekend. Would definitely recommend this to other people

Review. Works well!

Fantastic and easy to use app!. As a new password manager user, I was looking for an app for iOS I could trust and learn to use with ease. Strongbox gives me the perfect balance between both! Thank you for this amazing work

Great KeePass solution!. I have been looking for this for a long time, I am glad I found it! The developer seems to be actively working on the app and also very involved in the community/answering posts from users. Thanks a bunch for brigning this app to us!

Horrible design. Really hard to make sense of. Couldn’t figure out how to set a PIN code to unlock. Really not intuitive.

Strongbox Rocks. Best app I have ever used in my life. They take their game seriously.

It used to be great when it was free. I have been using this app over 6 years but now they want you to pay for it. Not happy because it came out of the blue and the prices are a bit high

Too many steps. Wanted something simple to store all my passwords but having to enter with faceid and then a password for my database seemed too many steps. Sorry.

Limited YubiKey support. The application looks nice. However, although it apparently supports Yubikey and it supports the Password Safe file format, what it can’t do is read Password Safe files with YubiKey protection. That makes it kind of useless for me.

Excellent Customer Service. Very satisfied with this product. In addition, the customer service when I required assistance was prompt and professional.

Losing Your Keys? Get Strongbox!. While submitting the suggested password iOS Keychain auto populates the webpage or app would save it but the Keychain wouldn’t prompt to save what it had just suggested. So, I switched to manage my own password database with Strongbox. HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES Yubikey support When forced to reveal database, dummy database option CREATE AND SAVE from the Password auto fill flow Works with multiple databases and multiple cloud storage providers (or keep it local) Too many features to praise. THANK YOU, Mark!

User friendly. Excellent PW manager and easy to use.

Awesome app, many thanks to the developer. I’ve been using MiniKeePass for years and I have been compelled to look for something else when it failed to open my database lately due to some incompatibility (and doesn’t seem to be actively developed these days). Boy am I glad I looked around and found Strongbox! Being able to open directly from the cloud is a godsend, the lack of ads is amazing, and the developer is very generous to provide core features in the free version. I encourage everyone to try it out. I don’t see any user interface issues or major quirks. One thing I notice that I was used to before was if I type the database password wrong, I have to retype it all again and can’t just go back and correct it. Thank you Mark!

Great 1Password Replacement. I was looking for something to replace 1Password, since 1Password 7 started giving me problems and I refused to upgrade to 1Password 8. I was mainly looking for a password manager that offered multiple options for storing databases. Strongbox does that, even offering a local option, along with being functionally highly customizable and offering multiple ways to organize your entries. I am happy that Strongbox allows you to organize your entries using both folders and tags. 1Password ditched folders in favour of tags. While I didn’t exactly mind the change, I did wish I had the ability to keep certain entries out of sight until needed again without needing to archive them. Having both folder and tagging options allow me to organize my entries the way I truly want to. I also like that you can view all entries that have One-Time Passwords enabled in their own section. The more ways to view your information, the better. One feature that I didn’t know I would be excited about is the FavIcon feature. Not only can you set Strongbox to automatically fetch the icon for you upon creating an entry, but you can manually fetch FavIcons (both for single entries and for the entire database), upload your own photo or use an icon from the database icon set. When manually fetching icons, if Strongbox detects there are more than one version of the icon, you can choose which icon you want for your entry. This is great. FavIcons help make entries more identifiable and I’m glad I don’t have to settle for a default database icon if there is no FavIcon automatically available. One thing I will say is I wish it would choose the higher resolution option when it is automatically fetching. It tends to choose anything 64x64 and under, even if a website has higher res options available. All in all, I am very pleased with this app. I can say more, but then I would be typing forever.

Well done app. It does support ChaCha20 and Argon2id, so it can open my database :)

Works perfectly with KeyPassXC databases!. I was looking for an option for a more local way of storing my passwords instead of relying on cloud based apps. I am using KeyPassXC on my Mac and can simply Airdrop the password files directly to my iPhone with no issues! Love it ! 👌🏻✨

My only password manager. I like that it is being actively maintained, and that it is based on the open source Keepass format, which means no vendor lock in.

Outstanding Feature Set & Excellent Developer Support. I have trusted Keepass compatible desktop applications for more than a decade, but have been disappointed and leery with most of the App Store iOS implementations and ports. It was with much hope that downloaded and evaluated Strongbox. After several months of use, cycling through most, if not all, of the options, and receiving prompt support from the developer, I was sold! Mark has developed a fantastic iPhone Keepass app that I respect and trust with my data. To keep the support coming, I signed up for a subscription - good code and rock solid security are worth every cent. To quote an iPhone appropriate phrase, “Two Thumbs Up!” (And BTW, I have it on my iPad too.)

Great Quality Password Manager. The app is genuinely great. The interface is simple and looks professional. It has lots of storage options. I use the file system connected to Google Drive to sync and even when no internet connection is available the database is (meaning it’s duplicated somewhere locally) which Keepassium for example does not support. My only gripe is that FaceID unlock is not free, however this is an indie app and I understand the need to upsell. 10/10 recommend for anyone that wants a KeePass password manager on iOS.

Good evolution of iOS KeePass manager. This is a good step up from some more basic iOS KeePass programs such as MiniKeePass Good support for whatever storage you use. Nice password generator including “xkcd” style passwords. Integration with Safari/as well if you choose to set it up.

well done. I have tried several password utilities and this one is by far one of the bests. Particularly their customer service who I had two deal with couple of times and they were extremely helpful. The best part of this app is that the database is stored is user’s tenant and it is fully compatible with KEE program used in Windows/MacOS. I am using Family edition and I highly recommend this app.

Switched to face rec than lost my password. There is nothing to tell you that when you switch to facial, it will disable at some point and force you to enter your master password manually, which is a very strong password. Now i forgot my master password and lost 10 years of passwords

Very useful app!. Very useful app! It allows me to customize many settings and it’s open source.

Near-perfect app. This app is perfect: 1. Does what it purports to do. 2. Does so without stealing other things behind your back. 3. Gives enough away for free that you could use it indefinitely. 4. Offers enough premium features that you can upgrade if you want more. 5. Flexible pricing leaves control with user. 6. Has decent FAQ documentation(could be expanded, but enough there to answer most questions for most people). 7. Doesn’t attempt to lock user into proprietary format, sticks to open source, making it future-proof. 8. Sometimes there are syncing/autofill issues. As far as I can tell this is only because it is not a native (Apple keychain) ios application and given the sensitive bature of the application, not too much that can be done here(it has to do what it does on top of the secure enclave and cannot get deep enough permissions to cause security vulnerability there). Could be wrong, but that’s my sense. Great app. You could stick to Keychain, but that leaves a LOT with apple, some redundancy is useful. This was confirmed when, after getting a new device, my keychain key got mysteriously corrupted and with everything being ‘under the hood’, there was no solution even with apple support. Fortunately I had multiple passwords/logins backed up in kdbx (opensource) format courtesy of Strongbox, so pain was minimal. KeepassXC(or ce, whatever macos version is called) is good, but doesn’t come close to Strongbox ease of use. Wish all apps were developed with similar philosophy. Also, I paid in full for lifetime on macos & ios. Don’t know and never interacted with developer and didn’t get a discount or anything else for this review, which is independent. I never leave reviews(I think this is my second in 11+ years) solely done out of appreciation for developer.

Very good application. Strongly recommend. Developers are doing a great job. Also support is very responsive - answers questions and listens suggestions. Overall five stars !

Gifted, Active Indie Developer. Superb Password Manager. An exceptionally well-designed, feature rich password manager that leaves the “big boys” in the dust. And it’s more affordable. And it’s open source so its code can be inspected. And it’s constantly updated. And the developer knows his stuff and cares about his product. Just look at the version history in the App Store to see how often it is updated. There is a free version of this product that is not crippled. But, I encourage you to buy the lifetime version which is more affordable than a yearly subscription to the more prominent password managers. Or, a cheap yearly sub. Why? It’s an indie developer who is active in the open source community who has integrity, and has developed a better product than the more well-known bloated, dated password managers. That deserves our collective support. *No affiliation with the developer or company.

Le meilleur. Le meilleur tout point de vue. Merci pour ce logiciel !

It’s awesome!. I’ve been using the free version of this app for years, I love it. I store pswds for my husband and my mom as well. I recently had an issue (caused by me) and followed the help links in the app. I had a response in a few hours and was able to follow the suggestion provided and had everything working again. Thanks so much!

Excellent Keepass-compatible application!. I was looking for an application that would allow me to manage several KDBX sources, with autofill on the web browser on MacOS and directly on the iOS keyboard, and that would manage OTPs. Strongbox does it all! I recommend

Great app. Been using the outdated MiniKeePass app for a few years. This app offers everything I needed and wanted. The developer is very talented and more importantly active on this particular project.

Control your secrets!. Thank you strongbox team for creating an application that is both beautiful and functional! Knowing where my secrets are stored and how they are encrypted gives me confidence in my privacy. As Last**** has shown us we can’t trust big corporations to do what is in the best interest of users. Thanks again and keep the updates rolling!!!

Great App. Have used it for a while now and have its less than favourable review. However that may have been hasty. It has proven to be very helpful when you have a lot of passwords and little Memory!

Synchronisation Issue. It’s a good App. I’m willing to pay and use it. One issue when using FaceID. My DB is in iCloud. I don’t see the update in my DB when FaceID is ON. Using PIN is ok.

Gave Up 1Password for Strongbox. As much as I liked 1Password, I was tired of paying for a subscription model. I was looking at moving back to KeePassXC but I needed an iOS version for my iPad and iPhone. I discovered Strongbox and used the 90 day trial to test it out. I also had no problem opening the database using KeePassXC on my Linux machine. Strongbox supports Yubikey, which made me happy. The only feature that I wish Strongbox offered: a built-in Authenticator. This was the one feature that made me pick 1Password over LastPass.

The way it should be. A+ for functionality, ease of use, and customer support I learned about Strongbox via the Privacy, Security and OSINT podcast (with Michael Bazzell). I use KeePassXC on my laptops and Steongbox on my mobile devices. They work seamlessly together. I was recently very impressed with Steongbox’s customer support when Apple all of a suddenly failed to recognize my prior purchase of premium (I like the advantage of using touchID). I emailed Steongbox and they worked with me personally over email to resolve the issue (a misadventure of having one account for iTunes and another for my Apple ID). Serious respect for being able to actually resolve a tech issue with a human being that actually understands. It’s the way things should be. Highly recommend this software if you value privacy, security, and simplicity in your life.

An excellent password safety and security application. I am one who doesn’t usually write reviews, but this application has pushed me to write a review. Here you go. 1. I have been searching for a long time solution for my increasing memorization for the passwords. 2. I have done some research on which technology can provide safe and security for my password needs as these days are more vulnerable since hackers are everywhere. 3. I found keepass is the one can provide a complete reliable security. 4. To maintain keepass password technology database and use across all platforms, I found this application. 5. I have downloaded bunch of application for a comparison finally found an excellent value in-terms of usability and security. 6. Getting a paid version is an excellent value for the money for an upgrade. 9. They have given me 3 months time to try and see before I purchase it.

Wonderful product. This is a perfect password management solution. I was able to throw my existing KeePass database into cloud storage and use it across devices. It’s been syncing seamlessly. And with the iPhone integrations, it’s actually easier to sign into sites on my phone now! I also *really* appreciate the fact that the developer does not collect any data. Thank you!

Great app for replacing MiniKeePass. I’ve had this for a year or so, replaced MiniKeePass when that started not being maintained. Very easy to transition my passwords over. I love that the passwords are in my control and not on a server somewhere that can be hacked - and I love the one time price which is less than a year of most of the other options! And it’s nicely integrated with iOS so whenever I need a password I can pick Strongbox, FaceID to authenticate, and grab it.

Excellent Password Manager. I was a long time 1Password user and when they dropped support for local vaults and forced users to use their cloud service with their latest version, I went looking elsewhere. StrongBox is perfect. I control my data and where it resides and the ability to configure everything is great. It also syncs perfectly between all my devices. So long 1Password, hello Strongbox. Highly recommend.

Must have app for passwordsafe users. Touch ID and Dropbox support are fantastic! Works flawlessly for me. Stop writing passwords down and get this today. Update: I am a long time Strongbox user. Wanted OneDrive support since I started using it. This support was added recently. When I found a bug in this feature, the developer responded immediately and had it fixed in no time. Highest rating for this indispensable program. I use it every day!

Replaces MiniKeePass. This app is the perfect replacement after I found out that MiniKeePass was unmaintained and is not available anymore. It allows me to lock the databases with biometrics while still asking for a password, supports import and updates from other apps, and has a dark mode. $30 is a lot compared to the other app, but since password managers are critical security software, as long as the software continues to be maintained that’s a reasonable price to pay.

Beyond Impressed!. I am beyond impressed with the quality of this app (where’s the extra stars when you need them!). I had been using another app to manage my KeePass database, but it was no longer maintained, very outdated and clunky to use. Within 5 minutes of downloading this app, I purchased the pro version. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a solution to manage your password database. From one developer to another – keep up the great work!

Perfect password companion for ios. I was a long time user of keePass but when KP stop updating I was looking for a reliable password app where I can import KeePass file and data stays with me. I came across Strongbox. Tried trial version for few days then purchased Pro lifetime subscription and never looked again at any other password app. It is a great app with face ID and autofill . Great job Mark 👍

You Won’t Regret Your Decision. I’ve been using this app for almost a year now and have loved it! Creates a really easy way to use your Keepass database on your mobile device. Plus I’ve really appreciated the reminders about backing up your db and understanding the impact of selections or settings in the app—very well done! If you aren’t sold already, the look and feel is really nice! I’m a fan and have recommended it to friends and family!

works perfect. i saw a reference to use the app with keypass-xc so i checked it out. i run keypass in home computer and point to OneDrive. i shared that onedrive folder with 1 other member if my family and within strongbox and sharing the db. this works exactly how i wanted. I ran into a snag with my db not connecting and syncing. worked with support and found it was due to a recent OneDrive update issue. a new patch of OneDrive came out again and resolved the issue. great support and great product.

The best password manager. I use the kdb managers for many years and if there is a really good and free password manager on macOS (KeepassXS), but no for iPhone, until I found the Strongbox. It looks very professional, the sync mechanism works without any issues. Used the Strongbox almost a year on iPhone and then decider to use on macOs as well and didn’t regret it. Thank you!

This app is rock solid!. I’ve been using Keepass on Windows for many years so I was glad to find this app for IOS as well. The UI mirrors the original and the developer pays close attention to detail and maintains the app with precision. When I saw how intuitive and functional it was, I didn’t hesitate to purchase a lifetime subscription. This developer is top notch and is more than worthy of supporting. Thank you for providing such an exceptional product and service.

super keepass support for ios + bunch more. The UK based Strongbox team are dedicated to a quality product. Not only does Sbox emulate features of keepass it’s got a bunch of other cool stuff in it as well. Various sw integrations, Touch/Face ID, the password auditing function. Plus they are pretty responsive if you need help or just want to say hello via email. I bought the lifetime license, you should too. :).

Great Product - Great Vendor Support. Been using the product for a few months and love it. Feature set and flexibility has been great. Last week started seeing issues on my iPad and Support was Excellent! Turned out to be a problem with how I was connecting to OneDrive which the product team helped me correct. Can’t be happier!! Highly recommend! Will be buying the Mac version soon!

Extremely well polished and feature complete. Has every feature I'd want in a password manager (including less common ones like Diceware password generation, checking against HIBP, estimating cracking time, downloading favicons, etc.) and it all works flawlessly. I also appreciate the new best practice suggestions for making sure you back up your database and don't forget the password to it.

What 1password used to be, refined. I went looking for a new password manager when 1password clearly dropped all interest in being a quality mac and ios app and locked its users into a subscription. Strongbox is a native mac and ios app that uses the well documented and battle tested KeePass data format, so there's no vendor lock-in. Now that they support serverless wifi/lan sync, you don't even need to trust the encrypted blob to anyone else. You can tell they get it because they still sell lifetime licenses.

Strongbox#1. I have used about every password manager over the years and wound up choosing keepass because I will only use open source apps for security. I found strongbox a couple of weeks ago and Im amazed at the quality of this app. It has the security that I need and the look and feel unmatched by any other keepass I’ve ever seen. Very polished! Most importantly I know my data is safe.I recommend strongbox to everyone!

Great app with great support. I’ve been using this app for password management between iPhone and many non-Apple systems and it works great! Like the use of open standards in the pw files along with good security practices in the design and development. Had to ask a support question recently and the tech support was very good. Fast response and knowledgeable enough to get right to the answer too.

encourage and thank you. Hello mark I just wanted to encourage you and thank you for this great port of keepass. Don’t Listen to those that think everything in life should be free. There is no free lunch. I think you are more than fair with your trial ware. If you like the app then pay for it to support the developer to continue to program it. I have seen so many so called free apps come and go over the years. Again this is the best port of keepass I have seen that syncs with dropbox. Keep up your good effort this is a fantastic keepass port. Cheers

Superb password manager. I have been using this superb app for couple of years now on iPad, against KeePass based password DBs that was created on Windows and Linux OS. The app is packed with features and works flawlessly even on KeePass password DBs that I created/updated on Windows and Linux OS. The developer of this app is very responsive and responds in couple of hours on any questions I might have, and is extremely helpful. I am very happy with it. I highly recommend this app.

Great Password Security App and Support!!. I recently downloaded the Strongbox - KeePass & PwSafe app. I had been looking for an app that would give me the password security I needed. Thus far, it has exceeded my expectations. I was having difficulties in sharing my database with passwords to my wife. I contacted Strongbox support and Nikola promptly responded with the information I needed to share the database. Thank you so much!

Great password manager. Great password manager that syncs nicely with iCloud and uses all the function that the iPhone provides. I had this app for a couple years now and I can honestly say that it has been great. I purchased the lifetime pro license from the in-app purchase to show my support. I would love it if Strongbox had some kind of dead man’s switch. Like if the app hasn’t been open in a month, it’ll send a email on your behalf with all the passwords stored.

Nice tool. But need a better UI design.. I like the tool overall, compared to dead MiniKeePass. While I have to say on UI perspective it’s still worse than MiniKeePass and needs a lot of improvement. That includes but not limit to: 1. Unnecessary loading page with a giant app logo; 2. Weird layout in the item page that password field comes the first and bigger than all other fields; 3. Giant icon in the item list. I really don’t mind if you can just use the UI of MiniKeePass.

Good KeePass password manager. The app is a good password manager based on open source KeePass. Intuitive interface, and should offer good protection to your passwords, or any other sensitive text you may want to store. Unlike LastPass, DashLane, and most other commercial products, it doesn’t automatically upload your password database anywhere, and doesn’t require you to share your email with the company.

Great password, credit card, and anything else vault. I’ve been using Keepass for over a decade. Strongbox has been my go to for years. It works flawlessly with Face ID or Touch ID. I can store my vault on any cloud storage provider like iCloud or OneDrive. If you’re tired of seeing vendors getting hacked and losing your data (encrypted or not), then give Strongbox a chance.

A Worthwhile App. I needed a password manager that would allow me to use the password file created by Password Gorilla and Strongbox looked to be the product I needed. Since 2020 I have not been disappointed with Strongbox, and eventually I decided to upgrade to the paid version…Strongbox Pro. I recently encountered an issue regarding family sharing which required me to contact Strongbox support. Several prompt responses to my emails resolved my issue. A good app and great customer support.

No subscription. Easy cross platform. I have been using this for years. It works across my devices. My wife and I can make changes but each have access to the passwords when we need them. We keep the security file on google drive which can also be accessible by our computers using keypass. No subscription to pay. We control the file. No third party to get hacked.

Excellent app and top notch support. Like many other users I switched from Minikeepass. Strongbox is like Minikeepass on steroids with superior user interface and cloud storage integration. The support is just as amazing. I asked a question via email regarding integrating multiple OneDrive cloud accounts and received the answer within minutes with a workable solution. While most users would probably be happy with the free edition, I highly recommend paying for this app to support the ongoing development. It definitely is worth the price in my opinion.

Works exceptionally well. I’ve been late to the party on password apps and recently did extensive research for open source solutions. That’s when I came across StrongBox for iOS which nicely complements KeypassXC which I have running on my Windows laptop. StrongBox is fast and intuitive to use. I’m just now learning of the extensive features it includes. It works equally well with native iOS apps or sites accessed via browser. And best of all allows for FaceID!

Best password manager!. If you’re still using the apple keychain, you’re missing out! This app is easy to use with a very friendly interface and quick process. It’s just as easy as writing passwords down on a sticky note, except you won’t forget them. I love that it shows me how long it would take to crack the passwords I create—it helps me know that I need to change my passwords. The random generator is also great. And best of all, there’s a student discount!

Nice replacement for MiniKeePass. Update: been using this for years now and it’s been worth every penny. Developer(s) are constantly adding new features and currently it’s just as good as any other password app. As soon as I enter a password login screen I can autofill passwords effortlessly. Great job! I had been using MiniKeePass but it seems that app is no longer being maintained. This has so far been a good replacement.

Virtual Hardware Keys are a game changer. The devs implemented VHK in strongbox which means you can use your Yubikey to save your kdbx on your Mac and then simply open the kdbx on your iPhone without needing the Yubikey. This means even if your kdbx in Dropbox/Gdrive/iCloud was downloaded by somebody, they still wouldn’t be able to open it without your Yubikey. Or in the case of strongbox they would need to gain access to your unlocked iPhone, but if they do, then you’ve got bigger problems. So now your threat level is BETTER than using plain passwords and keyfiles for your vault. Lastpass’s security is a joke. I saw this dev all over Github whilst researching this topic. He was also consulting keepassxc devs. So legit. Love this app.

Bait and Switch Tactics. App is good but they bait and switched the Touch ID quick access option. Used to be free but then they suddenly removed it from the free version and put it on the paid version. That’s a slippery slope. If you are interested in the features available beware they may not be there tomorrow for free. I’d say it’s worth looking around at other apps/companies that don’t show a history of removing features. They have pretty heavy priced lifetime option (a completely different “Pro” app) but considering everyone wants a subscription these days it is probably worth it in the long run. Especially considering the app piggybacks off the work done by the open source community that built KeePass the price feels high for a password manager UI/iPhone integration. Anyways since this is a stand alone app it gets its own review separate from the Pro version that incorporates its downgrade.

Very good. My goto keepass app on Mac or iOS.. It is missing a feature or two like being able to merge databases with the same name and password (like airdropping an updated copy of a database from my Mac to my phone). Sometimes it allows me to merge and sometimes it makes me rename the incoming database. Otherwise it works really well. Everyone should use a password manager and this is a good one for keepass.

Cards and Identity. I’ve done some investigation and this developer is very active. Currently a feature that I’d like to see is credit card and identity info. He has worked with the developer of keepass to help implement this. Think, he’s helping to work on another project that’s not his to help strongbox be better. Overall great app, and beautiful UI just needs identity and cards. I’ll update this review when it does.

Works beautifully with KeePass. I never write reviews for apps but this one deserves it. I use KeePass and simply exported as a 2x .dbx and uploaded to my dropbox (can use Google Drive too). I’m using the free version and I am very satisfied with it so far. I’m not usually technologically savvy as I hate reading technical instructions but this was basically 3 easy steps. Thank you for making this! The other apps I tried were hard to understand or don’t support dropping a previous database in.

Best app to secure my passwords. I have been using this app for a while and find it to be one of the best apps to secure my passwords. The convenience of having your passwords at the touch of a button and generate a password is great. Also being able to share with my wife a children through the Apple family program is great. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a way to secure your passwords.

The Best Password Manager App!. This app is by far the best way to manage your passwords. Up until recently I was using Mini Keepass until suddenly it was no longer supported. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise because that led me to getting this app as its replacement. It's compatible with all the major cloud platforms as well as the smaller ones through the use of the Files app. I personally use Sync and have had no problems with managing my password database. I especially love using my Touch ID and the Express Launch for opening the app. Really makes it faster to access my passwords and to keep moving forward. If you need help managing your passwords or are looking for a replacement for Mini Keepass or other password manager, get this app! You won't regret it!

Top notch. The completely free version is all I need and it does everything well. I don't think I have had the app crash. Simple and easy to use with nice features like audit for free! Works fine with KeePass databases which is what I use. I store my database in Dropbox so it will sync to my computer and other devices. Totally recommend this app and password databases in general.

Strongbox Thumbs UP. I was looking for a self hosted password manager and found Strongbox fit my needs since MinKeepass was removed from the App Store. I like the options that Strongbox offers to have more control over my data. Can tailor to my needs and store my password data where I want. Excellent quick response to a support question I had about the software. They went above and beyond to assist me.

The best keepass password manager available. I’m so happy that I stumbled upon Strongbox when my previous password manager stopped working on my iOS phone. I was skeptical that a free app would be able to do what I needed—keep my passwords safe, secure, and easily accessible and synced between multiple devices. Strongbox does this and more, seamlessly. And on top of that, customer support is incredible. I contacted support with a minor issue and the developer got back to me quickly with a kind and thorough response. Unheard of for a free app. Highly recommend!

A really great tool!. I’ve been looking for a non-cloud-based password safe for a long time. I want the extra security of keeping the password file on my own device and I’m willing to give up a bit of the convenience of “available everywhere”. But, with Strongbox I get the best of both worlds! My private password file is stored encrypted on my choice of storage and can easily be shared with all my devices. As an added bonus, the developer is very responsive when questions arise. A great experience all the way around.

Great app!. Had to migrate away from 1password because they're dropping local vaults in version 8 (at least that's what they've said so far). Strongbox has been an fantastic replacement, and the ability to import a 1password export saved me a ton of time! There are maybe a few rough edges, but the strongbox team has shown that they're constantly working to improve it, and the stuff I use daily in it works great, so I'm optimistic it's only ever going to get better! Recommended!

So happy this exists!. This is exactly what I was looking for when I switched from KeePass to Enpass several years ago. The experience is solid and frequently being enhanced. It’s got it all: replaces authenticate apps like Google Authenticator or Authy, has plugins for your favorite browser (I use Firefox), and syncs with several services. It’s much less expensive than 1Password and you get to own your data. Let’s spread the word! Keep this app supported for years to come!

Worth the price of admission. After MiniKeePass became unavailable I had to start the hunt for an alternative. Strongbox was the only app that hit all the features I was looking for. New features have been very well thought out and work great after initial release. It’s also great to see the devs active on communities like reddit - taking feedback and answering questions. Very happy to support the team through a purchase - they do great work.

Simple, reliable and easy to use. This app has changed my life, it’s is very easy to use and it has worked flawlessly since the start. I love the compatibility with KeePass and the user interface. The auto-sync feature is a nice touch and it’s security is top notch. I highly recommend this password manager to anyone who is serious about online security.

Perfect for my needs. Lots of customization and has a very clean look. It’s perfect for my needs and has all of the features a password app needs. My only complaint is that Touch ID is a paid feature, but I still prefer it to some of the more mainstream apps like 1Password and LastPass. Those are also good, but I think this is more secure and has less “bell and whistle” features that seem to just clutter the interface.

Great buy. I’m happy I bought this app. The updates keep coming. It gets better, smoother, with more features overtime; making it easier to host and manage my own database. One suggestion would be for the company to crease a separate, stand-alone, OTP app. Im bitting my nails about managing my OTPs and seeds through the same app as my passwords. I would recommend this app to anyone. The app itself is all I needed to store and manage secure data (passwords and files) in the web.
