Fantastic Game!. While I have never been a gamer in any capacity, as a diehard fan of Avenged Sevenfold I bought the game with a determination to get good at it. While Matt wasn't lying, the game is definitely difficult, it gives you a intense sense of satisfaction when you manage to beat a level. While it was a learning curve for sure, the game was created in such a way that it is possible for even a non-experienced gamer like me can learn the skills necessary to beat the game. I have already beat several levels without buying any of the band members or spending excessive amounts of time on it. The game is so much fun to play and an overall great experience. I would recommend it to anyone, fan or not.

A7X. Been a fan of A7X for a long long time. Bought this game when it originally came out. Loved it beat it unlocked everything. Deleted it. And just recently downloaded it again and i still have fun with it. I wish theyd make a sequal or something tbh.

Ehhh... As much as I love Avenged Sevenfold, I hate to give anything related to them a below average rating. Many things can and should be fixed within the game. It's extremely hard. I'm only on the third level and it's nearly impossible, and to think it just gets tougher. Other than that, it is a fun concept and storyline. Hopefully they will fix the gameplay soon, if they don't, then it might be a waste of $5.

Amazing Game!. I love this game so much! I don't normally play dungeon games, but this is an exception because I love A7X so much. I really think it was worth the $5. Although it may seem really cheesy, it is made by a band, who makes music, not games. So, I believe it's all cool whether or not it's very old fashioned or cheesy. Plus, even though the store system is a little hard to get used to, they make easy cash with the bonus levels. With that, this game makes me super happy.

Brilliant!. This game is amazing! Not much else to say. This is the only mobile game I play because all other games have too many ads and demand you pay them or else you get a terrible version of the app. Avenged Sevenfold and Subscience Studios finally deliver a game that isn't pure junk. The game isn't too hard, but it's not too easy. It's perfect if you like challenging puzzles, hack and slash gameplay, and a truly thorough story line.

Really fun tribute to gaming and A7X. Went in figuring this game would be fun, and I was right. Played for about an hour and it looks very promising. I haven't seen any loot yet, but the combat is fun, albeit simple. The story is interesting. Art style is awesome, but the 3d graphics aren't that great. It controls very well and has easy to understand UI. Sometimes it can be hard to aim your magic or move exactly how you want. The game is decently difficult, too. I was a bit worried when I found out you only get five lives, but you can buy more with in-game currency. Overall a solid game. Fun but simple. 4/5 *Edit* I got my first new weapon, and apparently each one changes your magic. Neat. Played on iPhone 6

It's pretty fun.. I quite enjoy the game. It's hard as crap though. But that's ok. I'm getting better at it. I wouldn't like it as much if it was too easy. Me being a long time Avenged Sevenfold fan may have a big contribution in my opinion. But it's still fun. There is one bug though. On some parts, it lags seriously bad. ON BOSS BATTLES TOO. But this is a young game, I'm sure you guys will have it fixed in about one or two updates. But overall, I love it. You guys did a great job. I love the music too. I get amped when I hear Unholy Confessions on the boss battles. So get that lagging fixed and this will be game of the year no doubt.

Hail to the King. I'm a A7X fan and I was very excited to see this game release. The music is great, the level design is awesome, and the gameplay is very challenging. My only problem is the touch screen controls. At times I find myself being hit or dying because even though my finger is on the screen I suddenly stop moving. I have this problem with almost every touch screen game. I know that Shadows planned for this game to be on mobile but at times I feel as if I would much rather play this using a controller. It would be awesome if this game was released on Xbox arcade or PSN.

SO MUCH FUN!. This game is so much fun! I'm not really a person who likes tablet games. I very rarely play them but Avenged Sevenfold did a fantastic job. The game is really difficult and super fun. The moving controls could be fixed a bit but other than that, I'm in love! Congratulations A7X! I'm so proud of you guys and so is Jimmy.

Awesome. I'm about 2 hours into the game and I'm enjoying the hell out of it!! It has that old school feel with no maps or npcs telling you what to do just explore find out yourself. It's challenging and keeps you coming back for more. Nicely done guys.

HELL YES. As a fan, I was so freaking excited to get this game. Waited long enough, and expected great things since its a7x, but was super surprised with the outcome. Absolutely terrific soundtrack to go along with gameplay, love how control analog only shows up when you touch the screen so its a less clogged screen. Gameplay would be easier if objects weren't blocking your view during certain parts of each level. Bosses throughout each level really cool. Sound effects clutch. Love the Zelda like throwback and dialogue when talking to ppl in game. Yet to finish but look forward to purchasing band characters. Thank you, Avenged Sevenfold.

Amazing!. Must buy! It's an excellent game it's frustrating sometimes 'cause it seems impossible to pass a level but it's really fun I have the Lightning sword already & unlocked the bonus level for nightmare & unholy confessions ! This game is amazing ! Must buy 😂❤️❤️❤️

Best game from the best band in the best land. I am so excited to see it has been updated so I can play it once again on my phone! It’s the only game app I have ever and will ever make in app purchases. It’s so addicting and I thoroughly enjoy the vintage game feel to it.

Amazing. Just every thing about this game is incredible! It's levels are well laid out. The main character and the enemies are well drawn. The fact that a hard rock band would take the time to make a game like this just shows how much they care about their fans Satisfaction. 10/10

One of the best games on the App Store!. Deathbat is one of the premier games available on iOS- But it has one problem. The game is very challenging, and basically requires you to buy one of the band members' characters. As a hardcore A7X fan, this is no problem for me, but I could see it infuriating some people who don't follow the band, and who don't have enough money for the game AND a $2 character. Like the description says; it's a lot like Diablo, but even better.

Avenged sevenfold. Huge fan of this band an when i heard they were making a game i was like hell yeah i cant wait an i waited 2 years an the second it came out i immediately bought it an dont regret a thing! great but. it is an amazing concept and I love the story but the gameplay is way too hard. there is no health or magic regeneration, no upgrades (unless you want to pay another two dollars), and the controls are hard to use. if this was fixed it would be five stars.

No background music. The game doesn't wanna play the background music and I've deleted and re downloaded the app several times. It's also saying the developer needs to update the app because it is slowing my phone down so it can be compatable.

#1 mobile game out there. I'm a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan and a big time gamer so this game was a must have for me.. The graphics through out the game are insane and the mobile game itself is all around the best game I've ever bought!! Do your self a favor and buy this game.. Great work A7X!!

Amazingly awesome. This game is amazing, addicting, fun, adventurous, and makes me tap my feet while i play. Love the graphics, its kinda old school which i love very much. Also my favorite songs are in this exciting experience. I have to admit, this is the onlu game i wnjoy dieing in lol a little piece of heaven played when i lose all my lives makes me jam out!! Haha awesome job Avenged sevenfold . Hail to the king : deathbat is now my favorite game of all time. .. Worth buying if you love A7X. This game is awesome if you love A7X. The gameplay mechanics are rough but it is certainly enough to stay entertained. Absolutely worth the $5 to see the environment and soundtrack created from the same minds that make the music we know and love so much. On the other hand if you aren't a fan, I would probably pass on this one.

RIP Music?. This game is amazing and I love it, but the only problem is, my gameplay is dull because for some reason them music in-game doesn't work...if I get into a boss battle I do t hear the opening guitar rift to Unholy Confessions like I used to on my old iPhone 5. I play on an iPhone 6+ now. Could you guys please take a look at this?

Ok first me and my girlfriend love avenged sevenfold so when we heard that app we had to get it and buy m shadows to play as in the game the game is fun and cool it has lots fun stuff in it I love it I play it all the time and love when m shadows talks when you kill people sometimes I love it and I really look forward to havering the next album you guys are gonna make and m shadows my girlfriend loves you btw AVENGED SEVENFOLD :) If jimmy was alive I'm sure he would be playing it right now and being funny like he always was R.I.P JIMMY THE REV SULLIVAN. SYSTERWICK (AAA). (2015) HELLZZZ YESSS, So much more entertaining then I expected...You guys nailed it! So much more intense with the update! (2020) Update: Niiiice, I logged into game club and all my previous purchases were restored on all my devices and continued me right where I left off after beating the game the first time around 4 years ago. I get to continue playing exactly where I left off trying to beat it the second time around with the happy face flames in blue and all my characters I bought!!!👊😏👍😎🤘

Amazing game for diehard fans and gamers alike!!. I have been an A7X fan since 8th grade and I'm now in college playing this game with utter enthrallment. I love their music being played during boss battles. My favorite part of this game is probably the older gauntlet kind of feel and look to it. It's very well suiting for A7X's style. The game is very challenging at some points but I love a good challenge. Highly recommend this game!

Awesome!. They did an awesome job on this game, and I love the fact that you only have a one time fee. It's not like all the free games where your constantly prompted to buy things. The story line is good, and they have a bunch of their music in the game which makes it awsome.

Not Sure How I Feel. I just bought this game and I'm not really sure what to think. There needs to be some kind of update to compensate for the lack of health in the game. It's rather obnoxious. How the coins explode out of chests is an interesting idea but is annoying when they land in an area that is unreachable.... The game is cool but really needs some touching up

Background Music. This game is really fun to play. The only thing is that the background music won't play, and it really took the fun out of the game for me. It used to play on my old iPhone 4s. I upgraded to a iPhone 5s, and the music wouldn't come on. Please, I would really appreciate it if the app could be updated so we can hear the music again. Thank You.

Need maps. Decent concept for a game to pass the time. It's annoying to run in circles over and over due to no mapping system. Also to have to continually farm gold for potions of which you can only carry 5 at a time, so when you leave a level to visit the witch, the levels reset so you end up using the potions all over again before the level is complete.

Don't be fooled by fake reviews and ratings.. The reviews gushing over this game are not real. I have been a diehard fan of a7x since the beginning, and I am so confused as to how they couldn't hire better devs. The sound effects are cheesy (the respawn noise is so out of place), extremely basic combat with no skill trees or tactic, juvenile dialogue, overly expensive items, clunky controls... Just listening to the witch cackle at the beginning made me wonder why they hired someone who probably downloaded searched "witch cackle" in Google and downloaded a free soundbyte. The list goes on. Anyone who actually plays games like this should be appalled. After how much hype it's been given, I was thrilled and shelled out cash for a mobile game, which is extremely rare for me. What a complete waste of money. I really expected more from you guys. The only charm lies in the awesome soundtrack.

Don't quit your day jobs.. Which doesn't seem like a bad gig.. I love A7X, I love Gaming, but this is the most frustrating p.o.s. I have ever played. This might even be a notch or two below "A Boy and His Blob" from NES on the frustration scale. Sorry boys, but please stick to music. It was a nice attempt.. better than I could've afforded to make. I liked the touch of having your songs play during boss battles. If you put your name on something, make sure it's worth the claim. I hope this abomination can be salvaged through Updates. I would like to play through it, while having fun. Please fix it!

Amazing!. If you're an avenged sevenfold fan of corse you're going to buy this game and love it but if not, you still probably will! The game plays great, has a fun combat system and an interesting story line! (Don't even get me started about the sound track). It feels like a mix of Diablo and the legend of Zelda and the game is just awesome on iOS, it's very worth your time! foREVer!!

Good game. The game is a blast and unlocking the rev and his sword is awesome. The game is difficult and has an old school feel to it which I love and it's A7X. The only issue I have with it is that the game is insanely short. Within about 2 days of not much play time I had the regular mode and nightmare mode beaten and there is nothing really left to do. I already unlocked the bonus chests and the rev sword which is really the only extra thing in the game. Worth the 5 bucks though.

Hail to Shadows!!. Lets begin by saying not only is this game amazing, but this morning i woke up took my phone off charger and played the game for a bit and before i knew it my phone hit below 20% and i had been playing for awhile. Time flies when youre having fun i guess.

Awesome game. The game is awesome but there's a few things that make it extremely difficult. For one is when you get hit by an enemy you stop moving. That's the same when attacking, if you're being hit your char won't attack. The prices of new potions or weapons is too high for the amount of gold you find in the level so if you have to restart you will not be able to buy enough health potions to last. First game by A7X is awesome and has tons of references to the rev. Awesome game but it's extremely difficult to play.

Great Game but.... The game has a great concept. As a huge A7X I expect nothing but greatness from them. With that being said, I don't like how there's no health regeneration after each level. Makes things a bit more difficult in playing. With a few updates and tweaks. This game can be top notch.

Worth reading. It is a difficult game and looks like it has bad graphics and such, but that's the way it was made because Matt wanted it that way. He wanted it to feel like older games from the 80's and 90's. I fully support it. If you don't like old games like that, don't get it. Also, Matt was big about castlevania and Zelda games. He made it Diablo style also, which I love Diablo.

Amazing for fans or gamers!. I don't usually buy apps, but knowing this was from A7X I knew it would be good. It was so much better than I expected! Graphics are amazing for a mobile game. I haven't bought any of the guys yet, and I've already beat a few levels. Extremely challenging, but it gives you a great feeling of satisfaction after you beat a level. I only bought this game a little while ago and I'm not very far into it, but I know it'll be great all the way through. Whether you're a die-hard A7X fan like me or just a gamer looking at it, just buy it! 9.5/10! Honestly, this is my new favorite mobile game. RIP our St. James💕

Game is broken and terrible. I am amazed a band that has featured in a AAA title like CoD could make such an awful game. Forget the lame story, the mechanics are just terrible and unrefined. Movement is clunky, combat is not fun and flawed. The soundtrack is average and I like their music but this is generic video game BGM. Worst of all the graphics are hideous. This would've looked bad in 2010, it's amazing that this band holds themselves to such a low standard when they've supposedly been making this for 2 years. Do not waste five whole dollars on this garbage.

Fun game, wish it had full controller support. I love this game, played it all the time when it first launched. Am happy to see it is still available w added controller support (though I wish the game let me use potions and pause w a DualShock, currently I cannot and don’t know why, have to keep crossing room to pause w touch screen!) other than that, it’s a solid game w a banger soundtrack up there w some of the Castlevania titles and some design choices that show a clear love of retro gaming history. Would love if A7X did another game

Beat it!. Is it sad that I already beat it? And I haven't bought any characters yet! GREAT GAME. The Harlot was the hardest boss imo. I usually don't have that much difficulty with a game. But I love how old school it was! Challenging games are much more fun than the games nowadays with health regen and upgrades in it. I could definitely see Shadows obsession with Zelda in it, which is fine with me since it is in my top 5 all time games. Kinda wish there was a mounted d pad option, but other than that, stop listening to whiny kids saying how hard this game is, because this is how a game should be. Great game band! I'm gunna buy synyster gates and play it over now;)

Avenged + video games = awesome. Replaying this game with the release and loving it as much as I did the first time but now I can actually play on my iPad!! Hope this means maybe there will be more levels added or something big coming!!

Awesome!. This game is quite fun. Very easy controls, excellent music fun worlds to explore. It has the feel of one of those awesome adventure ps1 games. Graphics are decent. I would like to see a couple more weapons to buy, a couple more moves to do, and maybe some added worlds for $1 or something. Overall though, this is a very fun game for iPhone. For a bout a 12 hour play through, it's well worth the $5.00. Great game On a side note, to the people who say it's hard to get enough coins, you can replay the bonus levels filled with coins as many times as you want, so there is no shortage at all.

Great game for A7X fans and gamers!!!. This is by far one of the best RPG games ever made! Graphics are great for a mobile game. The sound and music quality is magnificent! This game is a lot like Zelda, Diablo, and little bit of Gauntlet. Battle through levels with titles of A7X songs, for example "Unholy Confessions" and "A Little Piece of Heaven". There are puzzles, boss fights, and a great storyline to the game. You can even be the band members, but have to pay in order to be them. I can't say this is the best RPG game, but it sure is one of the best! This bada** game is for anyone interested. If you are thinking about buying this game, don't resist. BUY IT!!

Its a good game.... But it could be MUCH better if the game had some way to focus an enemy. The player could touch the enemy he would like to focus, then the character would never turn his back against the enemy, to run from its attacks. The player’s character would always move ‘looking’ to the focused enemy. Like in Zelda games. In my opinion, if something like this could be implemented in a future update, would make the game combat much more fun.

Sorry m shadows but this game needs work. I never buy any apps but I figured if m shadows made it then it must be great, but I was pretty let down. Every time you're attacked your guy freezes up, the little red gremlins are harder to fight than any of the bosses I've ran into so far, it's too easy to die and if you die five times you have to restart the level, clunky controls, just overall not that enjoyable. Love avenged but not a big fan of this game

Music??. I love the game, it's challenging and fun to play. I have an issue though, the soundtrack (which was there and brilliant) when I downloaded the game suddenly disappeared after about a month of playing the game. I deleted and re-downloaded the game, the soundtrack is still gone. Any one experience this or know how to fix it?

Time flies. The price being 4.99 had me a bit iffy, thinking I would spend 5 bucks for something I run through in a few hours and never play again, well I can tell you it puts up a good fun fight and I dare anyone to put this game down and not want to return and finish it. Not sure how non fans would respond, it does pay homage to the bands imagery and music but it's not overbearing. Nothing new as a game but nothing not worth playing!

Hell yes!. I may sound biased for being a fan but I have no reasons to dislike the game. I paid a fair price for an old school styled game, I paid for the extra characters (heeeeres Johnny!) and sure I have rage quit moments but that's truly why I keep playing it. The music is spot on, the storyline is pretty epic, and did I mention the music being spot on?? I'd buy this game forever.

Great game minor bug. Firstly the game is an absolute ripper! Very well made, very challenging. The only issue is, when you are fighting a boss, but end up dying, when you try to redo the level the green barrier is still up and you cannot enter and complete the level.

Enjoying so far. It's a bit pricier than I thought it would be, but after playing it for a little while I feel it was money well spent. Game play reminds me a little bit of Diablo, which I find pretty cool as I loved that game. In saying that, while Deathbat reminds of Diablo, it still different and definitely has an A7X feel to it. Loving it so far. The only thing I can say that would make it better is having another sub menu in the main menu for in game purchases, I've noticed in the App Store that there are in game purchases for the game and I can't figure out how to access that in game.

Wow just wow. Didn't know what to expect knew it would be good but not this good, it's a hard game but put the time and effort into it and you'll find like I did that this is an awesome game!!

Fantastic game! I have only 1 minor problem.... Love this game, love Avenged Sevenfold! My only issue is that sometimes when i'm walking, Andronikis will start walking in the opposite direction, even though i'm still holding my thumb in the same direction. A little annoying when trying to get through traps or fight a boss. But overall, a damn fantastic game, glad i bought it!!

Fun, challenging, highly recommended.. Decent story, decent gameplay, its not perfect but it is fun, its challenging and will provide around 6 hours of gameplay if rushed and not including nightmare mode. I love the game and i love the band, i recomend as one of the best games on the app store

Exactly what I was expecting. I've been waiting for this game to be out for months. I'm a huge RPG/A7X fan and this sounded and look unbelievable! Although. It doesn't work very well on my iPhone 4 :( It runs with bad lag, so if you have an iPhone 4 or below, I wouldn't recommend buying this game. Wait until you get upgraded!

German?. It's a really cool concept and all, and it is pretty fun, but I don't know what to do half the time because all of the subtitles are in German. Also, it doesn't have a pause button, which is inconvenient. I do understand that this has just been released.

Great game. The game is fun, the story is amazing and the graphics are really good for an ipod game. Plus it's a7x.

It's bad. Poor quality art and animation, (you can't even tile your textures properly?) skip text buttons that don't work, boring and unsatisfying gameplay, insulting in-app purchases.

I don't speak Chinese. Downloaded the game and everything is in Chinese. Looks like a cool game though. Don't know how to change the language given all the menu prompts are in Chinese. Please help if you can.

Love it!..but. I love this game, it's a love letter to all avenged sevenfold fans, they have potential to make console games but one thing is bugging me a lot though it keeps closing the app on me and idk why it's doing it maybe a bug fix update?

Fun Game. Awesome little game, doesn’t require WiFi- fun to play. I wish you could toggle the audio instead of having no choice, to choose music over SFX, or vice versa, and that is my only complaint. PS: The creators and developers should make a sequel, Dark Andronikos promised to return and the game is too good to have only 7 levels.

Awesome game!. This is an awesome game! There's lots of stuff to do and it can be challenging. The controls can take some time to get used to, but once you have it down, you're set! The story so far is quite immersive and reminds me a lot of Zelda. And of course, the music is awesome. 5 stars!

Fix the bugs. I am locked out from fighting the second boss, I get to where it should be and there is a green wall that I can't pass. The game is also almost impossible unless you buy one of the band members which I did, made it a lot easier, but I am still stuck at the second boss because of this green wall. Idk what else to do so you get a crappy rating until this is fixed!!

Cheeps scapes. I love this game and the band but really just to play the game you have to pay $4 a mont just to play that’s stupid like are you that poor of a company to make a cool game a monthly subscription bruh fix your crap make it free you peace’s of crap

Needs work yet. Cool game but if you leave the game and come back you lose the spot on the level even just for a second to answer a text we should be able to switch from one app and back to continuing the level

Very disappointing. I had high hopes for this one but terrible controls and frustrating gameplay shot them down quickly. The sound track is great but the gameplay is beyond broken.

Deathbat Hail to the King. This is sssooo much fun! I never play video games, so I’m dying quickly while figuring things out but man it’s great!

Combo System Plz make it better. The only complain i get in this game is that the characters atk is so weird i mean get a good 3 hit combo atk or a better combo system so the battles dont seem stale and boring i mean death bat character awsome atk boring this dosent go well together Update this game is totaly abandoned i can belive i wasted my money on this poor excuse for a game i know its ur first but seriously ive seen one man dev teams that do a lot better than this

It good. It has a a 4 because you have to have a game club account in order to go further. The story but the music is really on point

Glitch. While the gameplay has some flaws of its own, I find the thing that bothers me the most is a big glitch. During gameplay the soundtrack does NOT play. This problem also exists in the version for pc. Being that the soundtrack was made personally for the game, it's kinda important that it plays. This needs to be fixed.

Nightmare of a game. So you have a hack and slash game with no possible way of defending while only given 5 lives.... You will inevitably die. So then they over price life's to make up for that? How is such an important part of this game missing? The only thing I do like is the story and of course the A7X soundtrack. As a major fan and hardcore gamer I do not recommend.

Don't listen to the people hating. If you've ever played old school Zelda and Wolfenstein, Doom etc. You'll get a very cool nostalgia feel. Just like those games, this is pretty basic, but still, awesome nonetheless. Very good throwback to the NES age.

Can't hear any music. The gameplay is very fun and can be challenging at times, but the game is broken in the only aspect I was really looking forward to. The music doesn't work and neither does the title screen sounds.

Good game. I have a question for the developers I really like your game but it's too hard for me how do I restore purchases because I tap it and it doesn't give my money back

Eh. It's ok but us missing too much, needs customization, mini maps so you don't get lost (just for the main areas not were chest are, when you collect all the bats and get the bonus levels you can get all the money you want by going back to the area after beating it… not a great game but it keeps me occupied especially the afterlife level.

Best game from the best band ever. Didn't think o was going to be able to play this game but I downloaded it and it's fairly simple to learn. Love how it takes you on a journey of the deathbat history. A7X rocks!!!

The songs won't play?!. I love this game but every time I play it none of the songs or character dialogue plays? I enjoy this game a lot but I feel i'm not experiencing it fully because none of the awesome songs are playing.

Throwback to OG hack n slash. The game is very well thought out. Makes me feel like I’m playing an old school hack n slash. The game is challenging. You need to figure out your next step, there is no hand holding which is a breath of fresh air.

A7X4REV. Hard for phone, melee is difficult. But I love the music and story and what their doing as far as extending to the gaming community, can't wait for a console sequel!

Awesome. Awesome game. It's pretty big for a mobile device and fun to play. You can play as the band members which is cool but they definitely make the game easier. All in all definitely worth getting

Bugs. Needs update. Not sure if the game was abandoned completely but I just fired it up again after a few months of not playing to finish Nightmare mode and the soundtrack is gone. What happened there?

Good game. But,. I think that the 'new game' button needs to be less accessible. And the languages should be easier to change. I opened the game once and it was all in Chinese, when I was trying to change it, I started a new game by accident.
