Frustrating and not very useful. Connection with my radio is slow and unresponsive, although improved over earlier versions. Browsing music through my NAS library sometimes works, sometimes slowly, sometimes not at all. Completely random, as far as I can tell, and unrelated to my home network status. The library search function is a joke - as near as I can tell when searching capitalization has to be exactly as in the album, artist or track name, and can only search from the beginning of those fields (e.g. when searching for “Can’t Buy Me Love” you must search for Can’t Buy Me Love - the terms “love” or “Buy Me” for example will return NO RESULTS). Added functionality of being able to switch to Radio receiver and presets would be nice; why is this not present already? Intuitively it should be there. I cannot fathom how this app gets almost 5 stars as an average. I literally hate this app and only use it because I really have no choice if I want to be able to use all the smart functions of the radio. Fix it.

Sound-Touch review. I had enjoyed SoundTouch for years listening to a large library of classical recordings stored on my NAS drive. Some months ago when I was obliged to purchase a new NAS drive (WD MyCloud Ultra) I was unable to access the library of files which I had transferred to the new drive, even with the very best efforts of a number of Bose Tech support agents who patiently tried to make connection between the SoundTouch on my home theater system and the WD NAS drive. I gave up, and made another software program, KODI, make the connection. It worked, but was a miserable second best. Imagine my elation, then, when five days ago, I just pressed SoundTouch on my Bose remote by accident, and I found it was able to access my new NAS drive! I am so grateful to have SoundTouch working again, and am most curious to learn whether Bose or Western Digital is responsible for this happy turn of events. Nicholas Renouf

I'm a Bose Fanatic !. My home is full of Bose products. From the series 1 901,s stored in the garage to the five speaker Home Theater System. Re: Sound Touch. I have every model in my home and feel that I could make a few user comment. Model 10. I have a pair in my bedroom. I Listen to them every night and morning. I decided recently that I wanted to play my flat screen tv through them. Checking the owners manual I could find information on this setup. Called the tech line and was told that to do so I would have to separate right and left and use the aux inputs. Turns out that the 10's don't have a stereo function when in aux mode. Operating the 10's as two separate speakers the remote tries to operate both. I gave up. Mayhaps if I add Bluetooth to my my tv I could do it. 20's, 30's and Wave Clock Radio. Use them almost every day. Main System: I have it connected to my Bose home theatre system. The theater system has been tuned to the room using The provided computer balance system. Room sounds great! Here's the rub, the Sound Touch Main system favors the right channel and the home theater and the main unit offer no right / left balance. System: all of my units occasionally drop out for a few seconds. The interesting thing is that not all the systems fail at the same time. I feel I have good internet service but the dropouts are annoying. I will continue to favor Bose products.......Nothing better.

Fake reviews?. There is no way thia app could possibly get 4.7 stars when myself and 2 others have the same problems repeated across the Internet involving Bose’ lack of technological reliability. Problems with this app and Bose products not functioning properly when networked is thoroughly documented on the Internet, if you know even basic search techniques. Basically the app has to be installed and reinstalled each time you use the wireless networking option of these surround systems. I have 3 thestre setups that sound amazing, one on each floor. Try using it to play all three in a group with the Sirius radio function within the app. IF and ONLY IF you get it to work, let it play for about 1+ hours. Every single time I do that, this app will not reconnect, and back to walking all three floors to manually shut down. Frustrating if you paid thousands for Bose systems throughout the house and there is no answer. All theatres, all phones, all routes, everything updated. No change. I regret not investing the $6k into Sonos instead of thinking that Bose might have fixed this within the year I had the system.. They are lacking in the networking department and this app is blatant proof. Get new staff, save the company. Your future depends on it.

Everything you need. Sound is outstanding! I'm all in with 6 speakers: mini, 20's, a 30, sound bar, and Soundtouch Wave..to play CDs...the soundbar 300 with sub woofer is best for television and music a like. The 5 presets on the Bose speakers are very convenient as you don't need a device to start/stop your speakers, when synced the primary speaker acts as the master...can shut all off with..one touch. Just make sure you have a Wifi router with some power, I had upgraded the internet speed (as I was building out my system) with a provided TWC combo modem/router which created issues with the system...delay in syncing the speakers, can not find speakers, no internet connection. At first thought it was the Bose app...it's not. Traded out for a dedicated modem and purchased a Nighthawk 600 wifi Router, back to 100%.

Won’t connect. I’m a networking engineer and have been battling this app for years. Go online and so has just about everyone else. Note that there are somehow 5 star reviews in here for people who clearly can’t get the app to work and the text in those reviews suggests a much lower rating. Weird. Anyway, I’ve tried multiple iOS devices over the years, repeatedly reset (to factory at times) the speakers and even the router (should NEVER have to even be tempted to do that), shut off my 5G network ... on and on. This Christmas we could only have music over Bluetooth in one room ... hardly the point of having a wireless system. I’m getting rid of all this stuff and moving to Sonos. My friends never have connectivity issues and if you go through the internet, you’ll find *everyone* has these problems with Bose. This is going to cost me a fortune, but I am done. Bose doesn’t even seem to care.

Great when it works, horrible otherwise. I have two soundtouch speakers to play in stereo, however here’s the catch. If I want them to play in stereo I have to do 15 mins of setup. Every. Single. Time. Every week there’s a new update for god knows what which will take anywhere from 5-15 mins, then I have to spent 10-15 extra mins trying to get the things to play together. The setup requires you to connect to the speaker, then connect the speaker to your WiFi and then connect your phone back to the WiFi which isn’t that hard to do seeing as it only takes 5 mins but then I have to do it again so it takes ten minutes in total. That, in addition to weekly updates means that the average setup time to play my music is 10-25 mins, 10 mins isn’t bad. But 25 is. And that’s not all, if I setup it will only work while I am using it. If I use it for more than an hour or so or stop using it and come back later, I will have to go through the setup again. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO CONNECT TO WIFI????????

Happy together with Bose SoundTouch. I am absolutely thrilled with the Bose SoundTouch system. I have been a huge supporter of Bose for many, many years. I still have the Bose 901 speakers that I sacrificed to purchase while in college and survived on peanut butter sandwiches to ensure that I could make the purchase. It was more than a purchase, it was an investment in amazing quality soundI am originally from New York City and enjoyed listening to WQXR which is the classical radio station for the New York Times via my Bose speakers. I have a grown-up with the Bose quality line of superior music products and have proudly added the SoundTouch system to my collection. This is an amazing system, I highly recommend it to everyone even my friends who have invested heavily in other products like Sonos. There is no comparison. I will remain a faithful Bose audiophile and look forward to adding additional sound touch speakers to our home to expand this footprint. Thank you for this wonderful, wonderful product that has made my husband and I for both engineers extremely happy.

Fantastic interface!!!. I have enjoyed more than a half hour jumping around between Bluetooth, email, apps,WiFi, routers, passwords, password resets, error codes, more passwords, account settings, error connecting messages and FINALLY................. I said to my self what a wonderfully difficult and tedious way to try and listen to internet radio. It looks like I will work in silence for today as my attempts have been futile and my temper has risen to new highs. I will make an effort to connect another time maybe weeks in the future. I do have another brand of speaker that will connect to anyone’s phone in three taps but I really want to suffer with this Bose app until it finally works.

Best Purchase!!. I’ve had this in my house for about 3 years now and I still love this system. I get compliments from my guest all the time on how cool it is. I have a speakers all throughout my home which is the equivalent of a different zone for those that paid the hefty price for hardwired home surround sonos system they can be somewhat limited with this. There does seem to be quite a few updates required throughout the year but it’s a quick and painless process to update the speakers through the app that I didn’t think that deserved to mock a star off. Maybe if the updates could include an extra feature next time it would make it more exciting. How about an intercom addition ? Would sure love to use the speaker in my laundry room to make my kids do their chores. Overall, easy to use, excellent sound, highly adaptable to needs and you can even grab a speaker if heading on the road. Take that in-home hard wired surround systems!

Superior Sound and Functionality. Been looking for some speakers for the apartment that would allow me to play music from my phone+computer. The computer and TV speakers just weren’t cutting it anymore. After reading up on similar speakers, I narrowed down my options to Sonos and Bose. Sonos boasts integrated Alexa functionality but we aren’t big Google/Amazon ecosystem users at home. Even so, I imagine that integrated feature can be very convenient. Coupled with Bluetooth, the Wi-Fi capability was a big selling point. At the price of these and similar speakers, I imagine a lot of folks are looking at audio fidelity. I was pretty surprised at the augmented quality playing audio through Wi-Fi versus Bluetooth. Having both connectivity options will definitely come in handy. Very happy with this purchase. I opted for two speakers so the stereo field is a truly pleasant listening experience. Last, I am a huge fan of the tactile buttons as another control option. While I’ll probably do most of the controlling via phone/app, I can appreciate the availability and superior quality of the buttons on the speakers. Thank you, Bose!

Very little support for products purchased five years ago. I spent a lot of money on SoundTouch speakers. They don’t make them anymore now. I really don’t think that after 12+ years of being a Bose customer that I would buy another speaker from them again. That’s a lot of money to invest in a product but they don’t support very well. The app for the speakers is buggy always trying to search for the speaker when it was connected to minutes before. There has not been an update in over a year. It’s very disappointing and I just don’t feel another investment with this company would be a good one. When they work they sound great. I’ve called the company and they couldn’t give me any information about the app or whether or not they were going to update it, nothing. I just find that unacceptable for such a large investment. He did tell me I could buy a new speaker, that won’t happen. Do better Bose can I please before you lose customers

App is sub-par to product. I have gotten so frustrated with this app and its connectivity issues that I was inclined to write a review hoping that someone at Bose actually sees and acts on its issues. Been a fan of Bose for many years and have several Bose products in the household because of their exceptional sound quality; however, the app is a constant failure - with the several timely firmware updates required often, you would think the issues would have been resolved, but nope, it seems like it’s something different each time. Connectivity is confusing and very temperamental, I can never know if I need to use wifi, bluetooth, airplay or aux (however I’m supposed to do that in wireless times) to connect and when it actually does connect, it’ll stop streaming mid-song where I need to restart the confusing connection process all over again - most times I don’t even bother and move on because it’s not worth the time.

Great sound and app. Thanks I have been enjoying the app and sound quality it works great and whatever device you are using to operate the app phone or tablet it does not affect the battery life of the device that is major This app deserves five stars but my simple reason for giving it four starts is what Bose did in the last upgrade they took away the internet option of searching the internet for your radio stations and forcing you to used tune in radio for your search engine that’s not good tune in does carry all the radio stations so you basically lost all your saved stations from the internet If you can’t give us back the internet search then add. myTuner Radio Pro they have more radio stations than tunein give us that option please thanks

Bose update. I have had several bose soundtouch Systems over the past 12 years. I love them. However in July 2018 the speakers were unable to connect to play any of my itunes music or any music on my apple devices. I was very frustrated after spending $599 for the Soundtouch III System. I was on the phone hours with a technician and it still did not work. I was through with Bose at that point and felt like I had wasted on $599. I wanted to sell the system on Ebay but was not sure if it was broken or not. But once apple launched the ios12 update, Bose updated the speakers and they finally work after 4 months of no music. This was a very frustrating ordeal. It will certainly make me think twice about purchasing the Soundtouch IV.

Great App, could still be better. I really enjoy the quality of the sound. The Lifestyle 523 Series III is over two yrs old & has had no problems. The TV interface is simple & straight forward. Playing through my computer on iTunes works well. One can select various playlists from iTunes. I use the app on my iPad, it is less than intuitive, however with a little persistence it works out fine. Working with the App give you more choices than with the TV display. I look forward to adding additional WiFi speakers throughout the house. I’ve had great help with customer service when I’ve needed it, which is not often. I strongly recommend the app, & the hardware. It’s a great package for quality sound & versatility. If you have questions on anything give customer service a call.

Almost great.. Just got a Bose SoundTouch 30 and setting this up with the app (which did its job nicely on that) The app overall has a clean interface and is easy to use although I have two small complaints that hopefully will be addressed. #1 When playing a song through an Internet Station I wish the name of the song would show up on the app, it will on the staions app, but i I'm goingto use my new device it would be nice to not have to go someplace top get the name & artist if I hear something new I like. #2 When listening to a song on my music library through the Bose App I cannot jump to parts of a song or skip around, this can be done using the Apple Music App, but I feel that is something I should be able to do through the Bose App. If these small things can be fixed, it's a 5 Star App.

Excellent.. This is one of the most robust, well thought through and full of features app i have ever used. I can say that who so ever designed the app and chose features simply used common sense and added what ever users may need in this app. Quality of speakers add to the experience by playing music flawlessly without any delay on all speakers you choose. Ability to play same song on multiple speakers at the same time and create play groups on the fly with such an ease through app UI is marvelous. Simple and well thought through app. You will find controls exactly where they should have been. No need to tweak a lot of knobs in settings or navigate through multiple screens to achieve something. I love this app and its simplicity. It takes care of a lot of things on its own. Adding a new speaker is so simple. They simply used common sense and app turned out so great.

Pandora continually stops playing. Yes, it would be nice if more platforms were supported… That said, the platforms that are supported should work consistently. I have had an ongoing problem that I have reported multiple times where Pandora will play one song then the app freezes. I have to turn it off and turn it back on. It will then begin playing in the middle of the last song and if I don’t skip to the next song, it will freeze again. This will happen multiple times a day every day. It may then play five songs in a row just fine and freeze again. Sometimes, it will play for an hour or more before this starts. Then, I may go three or four days where it works just fine. Then, it will randomly start again. I’ve done everything from factory resets to creating new accounts from scratch. It has done this on multiple WiFi networks. If I use the speaker has Bluetooth, it’s just )so long as I’m within Bluetooth range). I have had this speaker for years and it worked flawlessly until about a year or so ago. I originally intended to buy more speakers and expand. I think I will have to start over and spend my money on Sonos instead.

Sound is Amazing. CEC Control still has issues. The sound quality is second to none. Updating the firmware on the SoundTouch300 while it’s connected to my TV is not a flawless operation though. My gut instinct tells me this is probably related to having my SoundTouch300 connected via CEC Control. My SoundTouch300 always gets “hung up” while updating firmware and I’m forced to unplug/replug power to the SoundTouch300 to get the update to finish. Also, my SoundTouch app never displays the percentage complete during a SoundTouch300 firmware update. After I’ve cycled power to the SoundTouch300, the SoundTouch app almost instantly displays 100% complete. Still, the sound quality from the SoundTouch300 is amazing so issues with updating firmware are not that big of an inconvenience to me. Considering the amazing sound quality and minor firmware updating issues, I rate the SoundTouch app 4/5 stars.

Does not work well at all. Very disappointed with the way this works, I should say not-work most of the time. First issue is that all the time the app needs an update and all the speakers need an update. This takes 20 minutes for each speaker, so should you decide to turn your music on for a dinner party, it will be cold by the time you are done doing this update procedure. I think I own 5 of these nose speakers for about 2 years now and I have updated them more than 30 times. This is really annoying because this seems to be my total user experience. The updates are not optional. You have to update before anything plays. Very often I just give up now because it just seems like Bose can never get their app to be sufficient quality that an update becomes “optional” Well, then when it is finally updated, sometimes it works , sometimes it does not. Depends on what settings got lost during the update (I have had to regroup the speaker groups a dozen times ). Depends on whatever else . Time of the day, weather? They are on a wired network so it has no Wi-Fi excuses. Speakers drop out regularly and it is not clear at all how to get back on to play It just seems this is designed to be single speaker Bluetooth setup. The “whole house audio “ concept is completely a pain in the neck. Unfortunately I invested in all these Bose speaker to just do that :(

Extremely unreliable. I give this two stars only because it’s a good concept, but unless you enjoy your music turning off and on randomly and constantly having to power cycle the speakers and reset your WiFi, don’t bother with this system. Sadly if you’re reading this you’ve probably already bought the speakers. If you can still return them, do it. My husband thought for the longest time that my problems were user error but now he’s witnessed it too. Most commonly the speakers will just quit playing but sometimes they’re more creative. One speaker out of six might randomly switch to another station. A speaker may be playing but not know that it is, so you can’t adjust the volume. The most fun is when a speaker that was not playing decides to come on with whatever you were listening to last... invariably it’s Muse coming on in the nursery while the baby is napping. We’ve used this in three houses now so it’s not our internet that’s the problem. I’m about ready to toss the whole thing out the window.

You WILL be disappointed. I actually worked for Bose for 18 years, and I can promise you, with absolute certainty, that the “software development team” there is a group of incompetent buffoons. I’ve had a whole bunch of these garbage SoundTouch devices for years now and not for 1 single day have they failed to disappoint. They also DO NOT care how disappointed customers are, which is why they fired the entire product support team (CFDT) a bunch of years ago and replaced them with a call center based in India. This is a company that has been in absolute decline for at least a decade, since Dr. Bose was healthy enough to be involved in running the company. He signed over 51% of the company to MIT because he KNEW how poorly it was being run by the woke imbeciles who took it over when his health started to fail. Yes, Bose and Bud Light are 100% on the same page, in case you didn’t know.

Love my BOSE!!. I’ve had the privilege of owning many Bose products and the quality is beyond measure. I could write a full length review but I’ll keep it short. I own the Bose SoundTouch and pairing it with the app makes it a breeze to use. I can save my favorite stations or playlists from SiriusXM, Pandora & Tidal! If you’ve never owned a Bose, you’re missing out! The sound, oh em gee, the sound is crisp and clear highlighting every note & instrument. When you purchase a Bose you can rest assured that you’ve made an investment in a product that holds its value with the best sound that never diminishes. Now with the SoundTouch app, it’s easy to pair all of your Bose devices creating a home theater system like no other. I highly recommend Bose products! Bose does NOT disappoint!!!

Great App Needs Refining. First the app is great; it’s come a long way, with that said the ability to search for a particular artist, album, or song when connected to your “Music Library” via your computer would be a GREAT addition. It’s annoying having to scroll from songs with the number 1 all the way to the “Ms” just to get to an album that starts with the letter M. Secondly, the app splitting songs up based on whether or not there’s a featured artist on the song is irritating. I find a album after having to manually scroll thru all albums to get to it to only then find out that only 6 of the 13 songs are displayed because the other 7 have featured artist i.e.; I select Lloyd’s album “Tru” and only 4 songs display yet if I go back to the album selection page there’s 6 additional songs by Lloyd that appear such as; Lloyd [Featuring Rick Ross] that do not show up under the actual album “Tru” simply because there’s a featured artist on the actual song therefore I have to go back and forth to play the full album. Fixing these issues would make the app a 5 for me.

Awesome possum!. Decides to go for the gold and bought the Bose SoundTouch 300 Tv sound bar and matching Bluetooth base. We got a free SoundTouch 10 with the purchase. Didn’t really know what I was getting when I bought it. When I realized that the devices themselves attached to the WiFi and played from your favorite music service I was blown away. It’s nice when the money you spend actually pays off. Hats off to Bose. It’s great that you can play same music on any and all the speakers at the same time. I haven’t noticed any timing issues. Great for the whole house. The app work almost flawlessly. Never had any connection problems. Only thing I wish it had was support for pandora premium. BOSE, IF YOUR LISTENING, PLEASE ADD SUPPORT FOR PANDORA PREMIUM!! It would be nice to search for music and play it, not just the stations. Also if it could have a “my music” tab would be great. All in all great products and software. Bought a SoundTouch 30 for work and am going to get some additional 10s and maybe a 20 for the new house.

Not worthy of Bose. I love my Bose radio, but this app is absolute crap. When I stream an Internet radio station through it, the signal drops every 3-4 months for pockets of about 20 seconds at a time, while the label on the radio says "loading." The problem is not my Internet connection; I know that, because for years I have streamed the same station on my laptop, and I never had to deal with interruptions. Also... when I use the notebook version of the app, it often says, for no obvious reason, that my iTunes library isn't available, and the only solution is to shut down the app, shut down iTunes, and restart both. (And even then, sometimes the situation isn't resolved until I install whatever SoundTouch update just became available -- it seems every day there is a new one, as constant nagging messages remind me). Lastly, the app does not let you stream podcasts, which is a sad limitation for this type of app. If you want to listen to a podcast, you have to download it on your notebook or PC (not your phone..), add it to an iTunes playlist, and stream it from your iTunes library (which by the way, won't refresh while the app is running). My 19-year-old nephew could have designed a better app.

Your app before and now. I do enjoy using your app although recently I tried to upgrade my wireless router to a Linksys high powered model and after countless tries my wirelessly connected iPad and iPhone using the app would not "see" any soundtouch units. Switching back to my providers wifi, it immediately found my systems. I do have one criticism. I realize you've changed the app to be more in line with your other apps but the previous COLOR app was very appealing. Perhaps in a future release you could rethink the starkness of black and white. Also thank you for putting back recently played. I'd like to see more presets on the app. I understand the physical limit on the systems themselves but within the app this would not be a difficult add. Thank you for listening.

Bose has improved markedly. I bought my unit for myself for my birthday late 2016. It worked great for a while then it just went downhill. Never worked when I tried to use it. So I just stopped. Although I do believe it had 100% to do with my cable modem communication but no one wanted to admit it. Regardless, after this last move, it’s worked not just perfectly, but immediately upon turning it on. After this last update (iOS 11.2.2) and Bose update to both iPhone 7+ and iPad Pro) it’s without fail. And all night. Incoming messages don’t interrupt playing, incoming calls don’t interrupt playing, incoming anything doesn’t interrupt anything and it’s seamless. I sleep with it on all night and it’s perfect sound, which Bose is known for, gives me perfect rest. I’m so happy I didn’t sell it when I started to get frustrated and stuck with it. Thanks for making an amazing product, Bose!!

Constantly confounded by how poor this app is. I love Bose, when it comes to sound quality there's no question that they're systems are some of the best around. I was so eager to get these that I sold my almost new Sonos speakers and replaced them with these. Too bad the Sonos app and speaker capability is FAR superior to Bose. These speakers have connectivity issues on an almost daily basis. I constantly have to unplug them and plug them in again for the app to 'see' the speaker and for them to be able to network together. This is annoying, more so when you've paid over $1000 for a system. Additionally, basic features like a sleep function and alarm clock would also be nice (all available with the Sonos). The connectivity issues and extremely basic app aren't befitting of the brand and over a year later I'm still waiting for basic improvements. Very disappointing.

Unrealiable app - poor interface and frequent crashes. Bose SoundTouch ecosystem has been overall a very disappointing and gruelling experience. Not only will the app frequently crash (either on OSX or iOS) but the much touted PLAY ALL function that is supposed to allow seamless multi speaker playback simply does not work reliably causing the need to frequently restart speakers, routers and iOS device. Further the soundtouch app seems to interfere with the wifi management on iOS as opening will sometimes cause the iOS device to lose its wifi connectivity causing multiple error messages within the app. Bose support is generally not reachable and when they are they also tend to be quite defensive and try to push back the blame on the user system rather than really help to solve the problem. For reference I recommend potential soundtouch system buyers to first check the Bose community forum under the “Play All” key words - very educational reading on the actual performance of the system and how Bose handles consumer support...

Much Better - Bugs Fixed?. Some time ago, a SoundTouch update rendered our system unusable. We had our music stored on an old SeagateMedia NAS and we use Google Mesh Routers in our house. For some reason, SoundTouch could not access our NAS and we were advised to replace it. So I bought a Western Digital NAS at Bose Support’s recommendation. After installation and copying our music files to the new device, SoundTouch couldn’t access it either. Repeated tries were useless. I pretty much gave up and started exploring other, non Bose options. Then one day we got a SoundTouch update and like magic, we can play music from all of our devices, accessing libraries from either NAS. It was a painful experience but we are now happy with our system.

SoundTouch 300. Great sound quality for the size. It’s very clean. It definitely needs good quality sound input however. Any source where the sound is marginal is very audible in the sound quality. Great bass response for the size too with no audible distortion at any volume level. Connectivity needs improvement however. I am tech savvy but this thing is a pain to setup and often does not connect to a source on the first or even the second try. No sound is emitted unless there is a delay in sequencing from the source. This could likely be fixed with a software upgrade. Some people setting the system up may give up if they are not very patient. Sound quality via Bluetooth is surprisingly excellent once you get it to connect.

Improve app settings. Sounds very good! I've been a fan of Bose for 22yrs. Had the old Bose wave, old 5.1 systems "10" and "15", and in car systems, etc. I now have the 300 sound bar, sub, and surround speakers. It would be nice if the app could control the subwoofer volume. The app controls the volume of the center and surround speakers why not have the app control the subwoofer also. I find the app has the capability to control features that the remote cannot and the remote controls features the app cannot. This makes it difficult to make tv, aux, and Bluetooth changes. Please incorporate all functions of the system on one or the other. Fumbling between the app and remote is very inconvenient and confusing at times when on the fly. 4 stars because of app/remote functionality. Definitely 5 star sound.

Searching!!!!!!!. That’s all it ever does. I have the Orbi WiFi throughout my house and it will choose the best frequency per device....however some of my speakers only connect to 2.4g while the other ones are placed on 5g. Bose refused to address this issue. As expensive as their products are. They will not help. They expect me to buy all new speakers. Every speaker in my house and truck are Bose. So disappointed. They are way behind in technology. I hope your speakers doesn’t become lost on THEIR network because THEIR speakers can’t remember where to connect, you will get to run through a long drawn out process which includes resetting WiFi and setting up the speaker all over again. I DO THIS 3 to 4 times a week. I’ve stopped expecting them to play when I want to hear music. Bose has dropped the ball. Think twice. Coming from a guy who pushed their product for sound quality for years, it’s sad to say that their app and “connectabily” are horrible!! They will not even play your Apple Music playlist so I hope you don’t subscribe because any music or playlist you’ve downloaded you won’t be hearing through THEIR speakers. But if you enjoy spending a few hours a weekend on the phone with their technical team, this product is perfect for you!!!

Big learning curve. I am a Bose fan. I think Bose is the best. We have music in every room in our house. We even have a speaker in our master closet. This system does not work with a mesh network. We accept this and have improvised. We have Google Fiber 1 gig. This many speakers (16) need an excellent signal. We have a dedicated router (non mesh) for the Bose system as well. The speakers also need a fast signal. We have the router separating 2.4ghz and 5ghz. We only use the 5ghz. A 5ghz signal, while much faster than 2.4 ghz, doesn’t travel as far as 2.4ghz. The system in our house needs the speed of 5ghz. While there is some fade at 1 outlying speaker, I love this system. It can be quirky. We’ve had this system for several years now. It has been frustrating (extremely) at times. I just had to accept that it WILL NOT WORK with our Orbi Network. It confuses the speaker system. I’ve had to work with this and have improvised as stated earlier. If you are willing to work with this system’s limitations, it can be wonderful. It’s taken me years to figure it out. I’m still learning and Bose continues to work on issues with the app. Bose customer service is excellent. Even when I’ve called in a bit grumpy, they really do care and want their customers to be happy with their products. They will do their best to find a solution. I hope this review is helpful to others. It comes from lots of experience. Have a nice day and stay well.

Don’t forget to read the instructions. I made a mistake an delete the app and had to start over . And I actually didn’t need too. After reinstalling the app it didn’t work. I didn’t need to start from scratch all I needed was to reconnect to the speaker. Trying to be super quick looking at the instructions over 30 minutes and looking for my wave sound system in the instructions and forgot they never name the wave system, I forgot the speaker that they refer to the instructions was actually my wave system. Ok this is on Bose why instead of calling it a speaker why not use the word system. Yes the wave has speakers, but it actually more than a speaker in the instructions replace the word speaker with system because it’s more than a speaker . Other than that it’s sounds awesome. I guess that why I still have my 901’s. The quality is unbelievable.

The Most Useless App of all Time!. There I said it! Each time I turn the speaker off and then turn it on (either a minute or an hour or a day later, it does not matter), the app cannot find my speaker, so I have to setup the system again, and again, and again, and yet again! How come Bose came up with such a useless app? And this thing has been in the market for so long, people have been complaining about for that long, and Bose has not provided a single solution as yet! I have not experienced such an unresponsive technical/customer team! Like the app, these teams are in a perpetual silence mode; app does not deliver, the services don’t respond, nor solve the problem! I am sure they do not understand what the problem is, or they don’t care! I just listen music using Bose as loudspeakers! What a waste! If you buy Bose Soundtouch, don’t ever download the app, because it does not work, just use the bluetooth connection!

Can’t Find >$1000 Worth Of Bose Speakers In Mesh Router System. Without a doubt this is the most frustrating app on my iPhone! We have a top-of-the-line mesh router system that works perfectly with everything except this app. Sometimes the app can find our several Bose speakers, but, >90% of the time it can’t! Is it the router system? No! Because my PC is hard-wired to the router and the Bose app on it ALWAYS finds the speakers. I called Bose support some months ago and the surly guy on the support line demanded we do a remote session, he logged in to the router, and then refused to describe what he was doing. What he did worked until the next time I tried to use the app on my iPhone. Love my Bose speakers - HATE this iPhone app!

Bose SoundTouch App. The app takes a bit of getting used to but it works very well. Selection of albums, tracks and artists are available using the search function. Transmitting the sound to various devices in different rooms is easy enough but you need strong broadband for it to work continuously. Using the system during the peak “movie viewing evening period” can be frustrating. I like too, that I can select international wi-fi radio stations and pair them with 6 buttons on the SoundTouch devices. FM radio stations can also be paired to these 6 buttons. However, the SoundTouch Wireless Link Adapter does not have presets but it does allow the addition of Bluetooth pairing to the system. The Bose Wave also has Bluetooth pairing as does 3rd generation SoundTouch speakers. All pulled together, it makes a fine multi room system when several SoundTouch units are added and synced with the app, and played in unison. Some Bose SoundTouch tv speakers can also be controlled and added with the app. Bose have made significant grades to the app from time to time.

Speaker good... software is SOOO frustrating. Speaker sound quality great. The software and daily use of this renders it absolutely useless. The app and firmware have to constantly be updated to work as advertised. It seams like every other time I try to connect to my speaker in the living room. It does not work. I have stop what I’m doing and spend what feels like 30 mins screwing with it to get it to work. I have to go through every speaker and app. Half the time I have to call a buddy over and use his time to get it working. Also, It’s another email password you have to remember. Which is a pain for friends that only come over once every 6 months and want to play their play list. I wish I had not bought this stuff. Just want to go back to plugging a wire in. At least that works every time without fail. I don’t like leaving negative reviews. But I bought this to have something cool to present every 2 or 3 months to show off and enjoy... without fail, this has disappointed me and disappointment is what comes to mind every time I see the word BOSE now... If this is the same system all WiFi speakers have... Stay away from them. Save your $ and quality speakers that don’t have the WiFi feature. It’s and expensive lesson to learn otherwise.

Horrible connectivity - so disappointed with Bose. I too am surprised at a 4.7 rating, simply cannot be true. We have 3 Bose SoundTouch speakers, purchased at different times over last couple of years. I bought them because I want to be able to control with my phone. Two of the speakers are placed on shelves near ceiling. I can never just pick up my phone and control with the ST app. I must go through, on average 30 minutes of reconnecting speakers to the internet and even then they don’t stay connected. My sister has a Sonos system and never ever has had the experience I’ve had with these Bose. We are Bose people and have several other Bose products, Waves, surround sound, etc. We are happy with all of our other products but the SoundTouch has caused literally hours of frustration! I wish Bose would do something about this problem! I cannot recommend this speaker system to anyone else.

Refusal to add source switching. After years, literally years- at least 2, of complaints by customers to be able to switch sources via the app, Bose still won’t implement such a change. So for instance if you play something through AirPlay or Bluetooth, then switch to watch a movie, you can’t hear anything unless and only if you have their remote. If you lose the remote you are stuck with the AirPlay or Bluetooth source unless you buy their $50 remote. And while you can program a universal remote to control basic functions, source switching is not a function available for universal remotes. This appears to be a pattern by bose. After they announced they would add AirPlay 2 to the SoundTouch, they took 3 years, yes THREE years, to finally release an update for it. No concern for customers after they’ve spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on their products. I own a lot of Bose products but now when shopping for new audio equipment I literally scroll past anything Bose.

New stability fix a (continued) dud. If I could unwind 5 Years I would not buy Bose. At that time we bought a SoundTouch 20 for our small house. Routinely buggy interface but good quality sound. Moved to a bigger home a couple years back and decided we wanted synchronized radio & music as we moved between kitchen & living / dining areas. We stayed in the Bose family as it seemed unlikely we could easily integrate a different device. Bought a Soundtouch 10 for the kitchen. Oops. A typical session involves restarts of one or both devices, exit & re-entry of i6-based app, and surrender to use of one device to eliminate unsynced delays of maybe half to a full second. The iPad app seems to work a bit better for some reason though all are connected to a seemingly strong Wi-Fi signal. Sometimes I lose control of one device & sometimes both. The 10 drops out for 5 seconds every 15 to 40 minutes for no apparent reason. If I use the handheld for volume it seems the app gives up and only a restart allows volume control from the app. Very friendly tech support people have walked me through the a purge & reprogram process (about 30 minutes). I was able to regain intermittent control (described above) after I’d lost it completely when the 20 spontaneously reconnected to an alternate wi-fi signal we’d run it through about a year back. I’m baffled that others report such clean success and envy their good fortune.

Spruce goose. This giant expense is a poor performer. I have spent hours trying to get a device to connect multiple times during the 3 years we have used this app and system. Finicky would be a generous description. Between the music getting dropped and speakers getting dropped, I am kept busy troubleshooting. Plan on an hour or two to reconnect a speaker. Believe me, I could write the book on the steps to connect and I usually have to try a dozen or more times before the equipment will work. I own at least one of each of the different devices- maybe thats the problem, I don’t know. Heaven forbid it happens during a gathering. After covid calms and we start having parties I will NOT be able to rely on SoundTouch. We have spent $1000s on Bose equipment- Is it too much to ask to just be able to turn on music? Can anyone tell me how to use the system without a network but without the app???? Address that Bose!!! Give me internet free contol

Solved all of our problems!!. Our problem were: trying to figure out a way to stream music in multiple rooms and have surround sound for the TV. We purchased a Bose Wave SoundTouch and a Bose SoundTouch 300. This got us exactly what we wanted and they communicate over our wireless network so setup was really easy and fast. Bose does not do a good job of making it clear that these two products can work together. It is clearly stated that the Bose Wave SoundTouch works in conjunction with the Bose SoundTouch 10, 20, and 30, but not clear about the SoundTouch 300 sound bar, bass and rear speakers. Even the very unhelpful store employees told us that these products would not work together. I did some research online while in the store and came to the conclusion that the employees were wrong. We took the chance and bought both and am glad we did. They work perfectly together. We can play music in one room, watch TV in the other, stream the same music in both rooms, or different music in both rooms. The system is very flexible like that. The app is easy to use and works great. Sound quality is what you would expect from a product bearing the Bose name. Very happy with the purchases.

Fantastic except.... I can't speak enough to how happy I am with my SoundTouch 10's. Have 3 and will most likely get another. Being able to have music everywhere I go, inside and outside of my home, whether all playing the same or something different is fantastic. Unfortunately I've recently run into a disappointing problem when streaming shows. They have the capacity to combine and play in stereo, which sounds even better when playing music but when synchronized and watching a streaming show, they fall behind. A delay. Sound is fantastic but you can see mouths moving before you hear the audio. Which is...well, annoying. I sincerely hope there is a fix for this. Using just one when streaming works just fine, fortunately so I will continue to enjoy them and highly recommend this product.

Love the Bose sound hate their tech /app. Let me start by saying the Bose speakers are of high quality but that’s about all the positive feedback I can say about Bose. They are an antiquated sound company that has stopped innovating years ago and have been left far behind in innovating it’s software to work seamlessly with their own hardware. I wish I could say they are catching up and if you call Bose they will claim to have a “quality” software team. Unfortunately years of hoping and waiting for Bose to catch up with its competitors has left disappointed. They are not only not catching up but falling further and further behind the competition. This app is a great representation of malfunctioning and incompatibility. Rarely updated and when it is updated they are fixing bugs from 6 months to a year from when they are first reported. As for the app it rarely connects to the speaker even when streaming works and speaker is able to connect to the internet app always and I mean always gives an error stating speaker cannot be reached. Compliantly and utterly useless unless you reset wifi and spend 10 to 20 minutes every time to reset it.

Nice update. Still needs some work.. Just updated the app. It can now send AUX to any speaker. Don't know what the big deal was. Something having to do with licensing? But no license for Bluetooth rebroadcast? The ability to rebroadcast needs more work. I love this ability...if only it were better. I have 3 SoundTouch speakers. The only one that video syncs is the one physically connected to the video source (TV AUX out). But when I try to bring up the second then 3rd speaker, it rebroadcasts, but it drops. And when the drops stop, the audio is distractinglily delayed. It does say it's a beta version so hopefully Bose reads these. I went from a Logitech squeeze box network, to sound touch and I love it. Richer sound and It's more stable. Only one wish: can you do something about the preset memory buttons? There are only six. Why not allow the ability to save individually? Meaning I have 3 radios. Each have six presets. For those of use with more than one unit, why not allow me to combine them, that gives me presets for 18 stations! Logitech allows you to do that. But not Bose? If it's an issue for some, why not make it a selective option for the user?

Sometimes frustrating. Problem solved? My router puts out two networks, a regular one and a -5G. My phone will connect to one of the two when I arrive back home, but apparently the SoundTouch 20 is only connected to the regular one. The app will work for a up to ten seconds on the -5G network then it says “no WiFi connection”. I can force quit the app and relaunch. It’ll work again for a few seconds and error again, occasionally it will automatically reconnect but again for just a few seconds. Made me think the app was buggy. It seems I have to manually ensure I’m on the regular network for it to work properly. Don’t want to have to tell my phone to forget the -5G network, but it’d be a viable solution. Maybe this tip will help someone else frustrated by this.

Bose soundwave and App. Recently purchased and very happy with this Bose unit. Easy setup to my wifi, can link with Bluetooth and play anything, CD is great. Ease of us, good looking and great sound is perfect for my living room. The speakers project a full sound at low levels and no distortion when I occasionally increase the volume. I’ve had a Marantz system before which was great, however moving into a unit I wanted a change to simple and compact, this Bose is great, I’m currently sitting at the end of the room about 9 metre away writing this and the speakers are clear and full sound, very happy.

App Constantly struggles to find the 2.0 speaker. And judging by the survey questions the app takes you over, I’m not alone :( Basically it’s great if the app can find the speaker, but even then 20 minutes later it’s disconnected and again can’t find the speaker, meaning you need to go get the infrared remote and use that instead of iPhone / ipad and app. Want the change the volume on the app? Sorry can’t find speaker even though it was connected a few minutes ago. Want to turn the speaker on or off, sorry can’t find the app.

Overall great but having issues with volume control. I’m running two devices off the app and generally very happy with it. Only issue I have is when I play both and adjust the volume the app continues to repeat the command so volume keeps going up or down depending on which I have selected.

Great app. I've only just started using it bit from the little time it's been great. Loving the world of internet Radio and kids are up and dancing which is better than playing on iPads. The sound touch 300 + sub is just amazing. The sound that comes out is like been at a cinema. We can feel the bass coming through the floor. Nice one Bose

Crashing!. This app just doesn’t work.I’ve tried wifi connect, ethernet, connect logging out and logging in, creating a new account but still no go All that happens is you go through th whole procedure and when you finally get to the end a “Somethings happened, can’t connect, try again later” Seriously? Maybe ad a bit more trouble shooting info rather than “Try again later”

Punishing. I can’t tell you how much I hate this app and speaker. You settle in to listen to music and it drops in and out constantly. And it’s not our internet. Everything else in the house works fine. Just as you’re listening to an important news item it drops out. App updates are punishingly often and rarely fix anything. If the Bose speaker and Soundtouch app worked consistently they’d be great...

Pretty Good For The Most Part. I’ve had my SoundTouch for about 3 years it’s pretty good most of the time however from time to time disconnects from wifi for some reason and needs to be reconnected which can be a bit of a inconvenience, but I would like to ask Bose App team to consider putting a power button on the widget for Apple as it would make it so much easier than going into the app to turn the system on and off.

SoundTouch Speakers. The ability to control music from anywhere in my house and listen to stations around the world is just fantastic. We’ve had two speakers for about two years and never had a problem. Well done Bose.

Good but needs better cross compatibility. The SoundTouch app works well and does what it says is going to but I can’t say I’m totally satisfied at being unable to combine and use speakers from the SoundTouch range (I have a sound bar 300 + SoundTouch 10) and the latest Bose releases. This make continuing my expansion through my home more difficult. I either have to sell off my SoundTouch (which was only purchased shortly before the new bars release) and by the same bar technologically minus Alexa built in (S700) and sell my S10 or continue buying SoundTouch units that will eventually not be supported anymore or be discontinued. Leaves me in a rock and a hard place. If all Bose speakers worked off the one app it would make life so much easier and I could hit 5 stars. Flexibility for the future and not making people’s investments in quality audio products redundant will ensure people always buy Bose over everything else. 1 app + all Bose speaker range = 5 stars

Great speaker for the size. I have had a SoundTouch 20 for a couple of years. Recently added a SoundTouch 10 to the network and the adapter for the main stereo. Easy to set-up. Great sound. For me the SoundTouch 10 is moved around as needed, I move it when I'm cooking at the BBQ, out on the deck, working in the garage etc. Would be great if it had a built in battery to make it fully portable (within the wifi range). The remote has 6 presets which is fine but I wish the app had room for many more favourite stations rather than having to search again. Even a "recent stations" with a history of 20 or so would suffice. Maybe in the next update???

Awesome Little Unit. Couldn’t be happier with my SoundTouch 20. Practically set itself up and I found the radio stations and music services I wanted effortlessly. Even connecting to Soundcloud and Mixcloud via Bluetooth was no biggie and I haven’t noticed and issues with connectivity or sound at all. The sound in general is amazing and I love that I can control it even when I’m lying in bed in the morning. Very happy :)

SoundTouch30. Hats off to BOSE Corporation for all their products. But I must say that after having done much research of all of the other brands out there in the marketplace, my SoundTouch30 has an absolutely awesome sound! The BASS and Front-Left and Front-Right Speaker deliver Clear-as Sound! The clarity of a Piano, Vocals, Drums, Clarinet, Sax, Tuba, Bassoon, Trombone, Trumpet, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Semi-Acoustic Guitars etc, all have a natural sound, when played through this SoundTouch30! And there is no resonance felt when played at Low or Higher volumes! I like the Metal chassis, and the total isolation of no unwanted vibrations, unlike its competition. The Bass is pure-sounding, even though there is only one type of setting for its tone is either Less-Bass, or more-Bass! This device typifies BOSE’ commitment to sound excellence. Great work at Team BOSE Corp. Another successful product this is sure to please even the fussiest Audiophile. Albeit me, and a whole lot of my friends too! Richard Ashley Cromer NSW

So when will you fix the app?????????????. So day 4 since the last disaster update and like many reviews here and elsewhere, the app is not working and will not load. Let’s see how long it takes Bose to fix it this time. But I would not hold my breath. I have had my system for many years and the physical items are great. The app continues to be a disaster with each year and attempt of an update. As one other comment says here - buy another brand

Couple of things. Would be good if there was an equaliser setting to adjust base ect... and if the radio stations could show the name of the songs streaming as I can’t Shazam while playing through my phone... Otherwise pretty cool

Great app!. I find that with so many music stations to choose from all over the world, I don’t have a need for a paid music service. I like the simple presets on the Bose player but because there are only 6 of them, I would like to see My Favourites folder in the app, where you could store more of favourite music stations or podcasts, let’s say 20. Have I mentioned the podcasts... oh yes, you can play podcasts directly through the app.

Take too long to set up. When I have to change router takes time to set up even though connected my speaker already to the network but cannot be found by the app needs lot of time to retry readjust and reconnect spent around 8 hours for configuration rename reset retry bit annoying

Best BOSE ever!!!. Great product. Very easy to setup. Never had any problem. I have the complete setup as in the Bose Soundtouch 300 Soundbar, the Acoustimass 300 bass module and the Virtually Invisible 300 rear surround speakers. I have these complete setup for a month now as a birthday present for myself 😊. All hook up wirelessly to my Bose Soundtouch 300 Soundbar and never had any problem at all. The iPhone app works fine and flowlessly, without the app I cannot control my Bose anywhere in my house and with the app I can control the volume of the rear surround speakers too. The sound quality is superb especially with action packed movies! Truely AMAZING!!!

Perfect except for no Apple Music support!!. The product and app are perfect!!! Except for it supporting all the streaming services, including ones I've never heard of, except for Apple Music!!! The product is worth the money, the app is great and customer service is excellent. Such a shame they bring their score down by not supporting Apple Music.

Oh so close.... This app contains all of the controls that you need to run a decent home studio. However, it is difficult to give feedback to Bose because the feedback interface on the app needs a redesign... the keyboard displays over the screen entry interface on Apple iPhone 7, at least it does for this particular user.

Great app but one thing missing. This is a very easy app to use and works flawlessly. The only thing I believe would improve it would be the ability to have a sleep timer. That way you could say set it for 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes and listen to music while you drift off to sleep.

SoundTouch with Lifestyle 650. Great integration - as the flagship product would love to see a future firmware configuration option which allowed you to configure whether playing music back via SoundTouch switches on the TV or not. If I want to listen to music - I don't really want / need the TV to switch on. Update: I recently got an Apple Watch Series 3 and the performance on the app is terrible - volume adjustment which I guess would be the most common use is measured in seconds - not real time at all. I guess this is due to having to relay commands via a tethered phone but it’s really really bad. Also no option of switching your Lifestyle console off via the watch app. You can switch it on by selecting a preset but no option of turning it off like you can through the mobile app. Hopefully these are things which can be improved with future app updates.

Good Sound but limited features. The sound quality of the Sound touch 30 is good, not excellent There is no equalizer in the app and no timer / alarm etc This model is a good 4 years old but surely an AP upgrade is not so hard to do This is about the big brands getting complacent with customer satisfaction whilst the new competition chips away in the market share ( Sonos)

Bose was supposed to be top notch. Constantly having to close the app and reopen just to adjust the volume. And that needs to be done multiple times. Always getting errors. Bluetooth always having issues. So disappointed as I thought Bose products were top quality This is not the only Bose product that I have that is disappointing too. Their headphones folding connect properly also.

Does what is states it will. This small device has enabled me to stream internet wireless and my iTunes library to the older version of my Sound Dock. Should have purchased it well before now to get maximum enjoyment out of listening to the Sound Dock. Still has amazing sound.

SoundTouch. Awesome product.. only one issue I have noticed. If you have a network that reboots everyday, the SoundTouch app on iOS has difficulty finding SoundTouch device. Rebooting device or network seems to temporarily resolve the issue and the app finds it again.

App cannot find speakers even when they are playing. The speakers are great. If there was only a way to make them work other than this buggy, blind app I would be overjoyed. It seems to put extra effort into not seeing the speakers and that means more than half the functionality (synched playing, airplay etc) is a matter of luck. I’m playing the radio through them right now and it insists there are no speakers connected to my wifi. Bose, do better! And if anyone else has a good aftermarket alternative, please promote it in my direction.

Sound Touch Will be the Future at our house. I have been pleased with the ease of use of the Bose SoundTouch Wireless Link. I have had a couple of issues relating to the usefulness of the Bose Sound Touch Application. Occasionally it forgets the device and needs to be set up again. Other than this the Wireless Link is a great addition to our home.

Great speakers, awful app. The app is the worst app I’ve ever encountered. After opening the app I wait a couple of minutes (yes, minutes- I’ve timed it) for the speakers to connect. I have three SoundTouch speakers connected together in the app. Frequently one speaker will go missing or won’t connect. They drop out constantly- I’m playing the XX now and in one song it’s already dropped out three times. Only for a couple of seconds but it makes it super frustrating when listening to music. I hate it.

Really poor app. This is just a poor quality app. Bose regularly seeks user feedback and ignores it. The user interface is poorly designed, confusing and frustrating. Just plain illogical. The windows desktop app needs to be shut down and restarted every now and then so it can find the speakers. Having said all that, it does work. It’s just a weird interface. This is the only review I’ve ever written, this app just annoys me so much.

Easy set up and it works as advertised. After years Of struggling with finding a sound system that would work with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth sound touch 10 has given me that option and the sound quality is more than acceptable - very happy with the product.

Fantastic. This is the most fantastic set up. The SoundTouch 20 and the BOSE app both work exceptionally well. It is quality at a value for money price. Tried Sonos and returned it. This is heaps better. Subscription music is either unavailable in Australia or the ones that are tend to drop out but the free music works well.

SoundTouch App. Works extremely well ... BUT ... the fairly frequent updates are a positive nuisance, requiring a reset of all the devices used to operate the the music library on the computer. It MUST be possible to give users an option when those updates are activated. At present users have NO option. It seems to be better since I wrote the above! Should I congratulate myself on bring about well overdue improvement ???

Frustrated and disappointed. When I first bought my Sound Dock this app was ok. I could use from my iPad but frustratingly had to always have my PC on. Since an upgrade I have not been able to use from my iPad at all. It keeps telling me it can’t locate my iTunes Library eventhough the PC is on. This week I downloaded the app, on to my iPhone thinking that since I have iTunes on it and all my music I wouldn’t have to have my PC on to operate it from my phone. But NO. That would be too easy. Still cant locate my iTunes library. Basically it has been a complete waste of money even though the sound is great. Basically I have to Bluetooth my iPod to play any music from my iTunes Library. Really frustrating!

Improve your quality. Since the latest app update, error message soundtouch 300 can’t be found on wifi please ensure connection, have repaired my soundbar 3 times now. the app won’t play internet radio stations unless I use the remote control, unresponsive using app 75% of time, for a premium sound you pay a premium price and you would expect a premium app. Highly disappointed and extremely frustrated in this update, BOSE lift your game. Or suffer the consequences.

Still waiting for timer/alarm function. Seriously, this should a standard function! The hardware remote functions are limited and I’m ok with that but why deliberately leave out this standard function on the app? Maybe to try and influence customers to buy the soundwave product? Not interested in the wave product. Please fix this issue as customers have been asking for it for several years.

Great app. Love the ability of being able to control different zones from PC, Phone and now iwatch. Only down side is the time it takes to re connect a zone should it disconnect. This happened after recent update. Rather than trying to connect individual, best you delete all speakers and start again! Happy now!

Too many updates. Why every time I open up the SoundTouch app I get prompted that I have to wait 20 minutes for the speaker to update! This is just way too long!! Why can’t the speaker just update in the background when I’m not using it like my iPhone does. There should be an option to skip the updates. The speaker is working perfectly the way it is, why should I be forced to update every time I want to use it.

SoundTouch 300 Surround System. Initial setup of the Bose SoundTouch wasn’t as easy as I anticipated as I am not an as savvy as some people. Fortunately Bose provides excellent support which has enabled me to ultimately enjoy the full capacity of my SoundTouch system. App access to the system via my phone is exceptional, providing another dimension for enjoying the exceptional performance of my SoundTouch, Simply Brilliant !

Great support from BOSE support person. We purchased a unit but couldn’t get connected to wi-fi, couldn’t get Bluetooth connection neither the network indicator light was coming. We got really frustrated and upset with the SoundTouch lv unit. We called BOSE support they asked to replace it we got another unit. This time the indicator light was coming but still no luck with wi-fi, Bluetooth. We again contacted BOSE support and the male support person remotely accessed our wi-fi and changed some settings and that fixed all issues & we are now proud owners of the system.

Frustration reigns supreme. The app is magnificent once you get it to work with multiple speakers. After many hours (literally) of following the process it worked. Until the moment I went to add another device in the family and I was back to wasting time again and gave up after an hour. Setting that device up affected the first device in some way and I’m back to square one with it and unable to connect speakers ... AGAIN! Also, when you go into a new device and use the forgot password function ... it says it’ll send an email to your account email, but simply doesn’t, I’m still waiting for the reset. Like I said, magnificent when it works, but I’m seriously regretting my investment in Bose for my home system because of this app!

Great sound system. Bought the Bose SoundTouch 300 system nearly 2 years ago. Have been very happy with the performance. Today did an app update and can use Apple AirPlay, even better as Bluetooth can be tricky as it tends to pair with the last user. Would recommend any of the Bose products. Just bought the Solo5 for another TV the kids use and have a pair of Soundlink speakers for outdoor use.

Over all 4/5 Stars. Changed my life involves me in action been enjoying music and movies after a long time, I have bilateral hearing loss different frequency losses -low and mid frequency hearing loss in Right and high frequency loss in Left ear been wearing hearing aids Oticon Opn1 in both ear, my hearing aids got me listening and talking in the real world and with the Soundtouch 300 and the Acoustimass 300 got me enjoying movies music, I use the bass to my advantage go up and down to get the best tolerance and tailor to my requirements, the clear dialogue button on the remote is a life saver on the days my hearing is playing up. Overall very satisfied with my purchase didn't give 5 stars because Soundbar by itself doesn't add the background resonance Soundbar works very well in combination with Acoustimass.

Please review the software and not the hardware. We all know that we are completely satisfied with the hardware of the Bose systems and laud the benefit of music throughout the home or indeed the benefit of your new SoundTouch 300 so reviewing hardware is of no benefit to anyone here in what should be a review of the SoundTouch app. I am not new to criticism of the app in recent upgraded versions and the use of the nondescript “Pavlov inspired” graphic interface that unfortunately reflects the ideas of the current design team. There should have been some consideration of the integration of the positive aspects of earlier versions where the interface was more meaningfully interactivity and of where I still review screen shots of these earlier versions with sheer disappointment. Bose SoundTouch hardware should be reviewed elsewhere not in this site. Please let us have some response or maybe constructive criticism of the SoundTouch app because without such we, as dedicated Bose users will remain in the same state as Pavlov’s dogs when it comes to the control of SoundTouch.

Disappointing. The upgrade forced on my Bose lifestyle system has left me and my family very disappointed and the kids quite sad. Streaming music is almost impossible. Lagging and buffering every 10 to 15 seconds is rediculous. Hours spent on the phone with 'help desk' shows that they really don't know very much about their own software. We would love to rollback this latest upgrade, but Bose don't seem to know how it could be done nor how to stop upgrades in the future. Bose you are very disappointing for the cost of the system😠😠😠

Waiting for an interface overhaul. I wonder how much user testing has gone into this app release - still seems like the user interface is illogical and broken. Big spaces of images or nothing useful, then the sliders, buttons and controls you need to use regularly are all bunched up. Any chance you could maybe calibrate the volume sliders at some stage? Trying to move between 1-3mm from the left side is not easy, and I wonder if anyone operates theirs past halfway? So laggy still, and most of us would like more than 6 favourites/presets available somewhere in the app (they don’t need to correlate to the 6 buttons, can be additional). Thanks, and I hope we see some improvements one of these years. Please also consider some accessibility principles (maybe an alternative to sliders could be a good starting point).

Kooka. I know I live in the country and therefore have second class services but this is driving me nuts. I have to reload almost every time I turn it on. My wifi can never find the Bose channel to join. I keep going around in circles. Most annoying. Can anyone help?

Great speaker but app is rubbish. I’ve had a Bose SoundTouch for a few years, it’s a fantastic speaker, but this app! It’s rubbish. Every time it updates I have to go and reset the whole thing, it will just randomly every few months stop playing and say it can’t find my speaker, so I have to reset again, and again, and again. Now it’s telling me my preset radio stations can’t be played! Grrrr - Wish I’d bought a Sonis

Great speakers, OK app. I love my Bose speakers for sound quality, and the SoundTouch app is certainly improving with each update. The lack of support for Apple Music is unfortunate, and if you sync with your Mac iTunes library there are problems syncing album art with the SoundTouch app (my iTunes library is perfectly arranged so this is an annoyance). I plan to update this review as the features improve.

Excellent, crisp sound. I'm very happy with my soundtouch. It never failed to deliver beautiful, crisp music for my enjoyment. I've always feel so relax as I look forward to coming home from work and turn it on straight away to listen to good music. On weekends, it's working all day!

Generally happy with it. The only thing that frustrates me with SoundTouch and I’m not sure if it’s the app, the software or the devices themselves... but when I have my sound bar and my SoundTouch 20 connected together... sometimes when I try to adjust the volume for one of the speakers, they either both start automatically getting louder, or turning themselves down. I have tried updating software and updating the app and nothing fixes it???

Crappy App. Although speaker is working well, nice sound quality, the App is the crappiest have seen from a major company. Doesn’t work 90% of the time and I see same comments for the past 2 years. What is going on Bose? This is almost 2021. Don’t tell us you can’t fix that problem unless you really don’t care.

Frustrating. My speakers don’t work in harmony anymore seems like it’s getting worse. And please add airplay 2 as promised 2 years ago

Needs a update it’s been 2 years lol. There are a lot of bugs and I mean a lot like it’s crazy how many but that isn’t my main issue, the main issue/problem I have with this app is the connectivity you connect your sound bar to the app or speaker and once it’s connected after the long and painful process it sounds great but every week to sometimes 2 it will delete everything (what I mean by delete everything is that whenever your logged in and set up you will be able to play music for a while but it will remove your soundbar/speaker and the process doesn’t always work)and you will have to reinstall or reset your speaker and the app to do the process again which is long and painful. It would be a great app if you guys would please update it and fix the countless numbers of bugs and the connectivity issues that seem to have a lot of people struggling with. Thanks and please do something it’s been 2 years cmon now.

Sound touch. I have the same problem the app tells me it can’t find my soundbar 300 and I’m using the speaker already. The app is useless right now….it worked before when I got the speaker 5 years ago 😡

Can’t find my speaker. This app used to work great but after the update last year stopped working. Can’t connect to my sound bar my sound bar is connected to the internet and working good but the app can’t find it is very disappointing and after one year and they still didn’t fix the problem. If I can give zero stars I would do that.

Internet radio missing. Why did Bose delete internet radio! This is the reason why I bought the system and you did this without warning and cause frustration for me.

Totally useless!. This app works only when it feels like working. It fades in and out on most music, and seldom does Sirius play for more than an hour without shutting down. Looks good from far, but it’s far from good.

Update please. The app barely works. I use the remote or the Spotify app to play music. When I open the Bose app, it says it’s not connected to wifi or that it cannot find my speaker( that’s already playing music). I’ve fixed the issue by not using the Bose app at all. Please fix this guys.

It’s worse and worse. I have three speakers and love the sound of them! That is if the app manages to play anything. I have updated everything and still now it doesn’t want me to add channels to the convenient buttons on the top! It only can find one speaker from within Spotify. I have all three on the same network and logged in. It would be great if you could make this work like it did 8 or so years ago….

Sound Touch. We now have 3 sound touch systems, sometimes a little finicky to get configured but good help available. Nice sound everyone is happy.

Bose: focus on sound. Apps is not your business. How come Bose CMO or CDO accept to see such an App represent your strong brand. This is not the standard that the company should operate under.

So buggy!. Drops my speakers constantly lately. Adding them again is painful and clunky and the next day another one is gone. Also, why not remember the last group used so I don’t have to do it every time. I own six of these speakers because I love the sound they produce. (Got the first one in 2015!) Do better with the overall experience please! You’ve been at this a long time, why isn’t it better and stable by now?

Love it. Easy to use from your phone anywhere in the house great sound love the Bose system

App won’t play Sirius XM on demand. There is a flaw in the App: I can stream Sirius XM, but the on-demand service does not work, and I receive an errormessage.

Constantly looking for speaker. App is useless. It is constantly looking for the speakers. After a few minutes it finds them but if you quit the app and try using it a few minutes later it’s the same old searching for speaker.

Disappointed. Bought 3 SoundTouch speakers set with the promise of AirPlay 2 support. Almost 3 years and still no AirPlay 2. What a letdown. SoundTouch (ST) owners are also forgotten because Bose released new app that doesn’t support ST products.

App. The app no longer works on my iPad mini 9.3.5.since your last update. The app opens than closes right away. Please fix this problem.

Love it. We’ve had our ap a little over 5 years and enjoy the choices we can get🙂

App support for iOS 17.4. This is now my third criticism of the application. The Application cannot find speakers following the latest iOS update. This is quite embarrassing for a company like Bose. Can someone please wake up over there. Your app as of now is utterly useless. The brand is taking a hit as a result. Please update to ensure connectivity.

Christmas music. Great song and sounds.

Apps just do not work. Apps got downloaded and is asking me to connect to Wifi I do but it just won’t connect saying that Bose is having problems tried for many days still the same

Still amazed. Had Spotify for years now and they constantly give me new suggestions for things to listen to that get me interested. So it went from all the old music from when I was younger to heavy music during that stupid year to podcasts at the moment. Ask me next year and I am sure that adventure has moved on to something else. Thank you guys for getting me through my day-and years, that is. Keep me alive. Spotify became my go to friend. Stefan

Does not work. I have a brand new iPhone and the app doesn’t work with the iPhone 15! >:-( It is time for an update!!! If it continues to work not like this Bose will end up as a wired speaker in the garage or basement and I will buy an Alexa! Certainly no other Bose speakers!

Sound touch 300. This is awesome ! Thanks you

horrible app and speaker. app is horrible, it takes forever to even connect the speaker and when it does connect, it doesn’t play.

Bose soundtouch App. This App is seriously provoking major frustration. I can play using bluetooth but the Speaker keeps disconnecting from WiFi and trying to get it to connect again takes super-human patience. So far today I have tried 10 times. So very annoying. My iPhone plays ok, my iPad and laptop do not. And then it will switch it all up. Dislike, annoying,

PLEASE FIX THE APP!. Every time I open the app it says trying to find your speaker….. My soundtouch is already playing streaming services i added initially when I set up my soundtouch 30….. is there no updates available? C’mon now.

Disappointed. First sound is amazing however using it is near impossible and so not user friendly

Hard to scroll in a big library. Hard to scroll down a big library on your computer: lots of loading period everytime you reach the bottom of the screen. You could use shot cuts to each letter, like in itunes. Or navigating with album covers (10 x 6 album on the screen, not a single column) instead of a single column of titles... so long to reach the 500th album starting with a « z »!

My morning relaxing treat, plus. Or else I get grumpy. Mood essential booster. Study mate. Office work background. Concentration guard

Awful Keeps losing connections. Seems with each update? One needs to reconnect all devices. They need to fire their app designers and hire folks that are competent

Not working since latest update. Since the last update Sirius xm doesn’t work. Doesn’t find my iTunes library. The update deleted all my presets. Completely useless app.

As others have said. App BARELY works. Pay 1000.00 for a speaker. Get a crappy app for free. Speaker goes offline, WPS, network setup is a ballet of idiotic levels. Instead of direct settings, you must go out, come back, greyed out continue, then simply go out, get your magic decoder ring, enter the random digits, reset your network passwords, pray for rain then go back in. It’s not shocking I’m seeing more negative Bose reviews. Do better.

Pls update the app!. If you update to IOS 17.4 on you iPhone - be aware that this app will no longer function. I note that the last update was in 2022. Bose - please update this app!

Disappointed Rarely connects when it should. Why I paid good money for this speaker. Every penny was well spent for all of my Bose speakers.

Please an update. We need update immediately i have 3 bose and it doesn’t work anymore

Bose SoundTouch. Update: as of the 17.4 iOS update March 11/24 , the App no longer can connect to any speakers - even though they are all running and seen by another iOS device not running 17.4 but running Soundtouch App. Works as designed however the SoundTouch Links are finicky to get going . But once you get them linked it’s so nice to have all the links and SoundTouch radios ( or any stereo device hanging off them ) able to play all the same , or different content. The biggest downfall is the fact that Tidal service is not available to add , c’mon Bose , you can do better and get the service integration to at least what Sonas has. Good product , keep it going !

Changement de pays. J’ai changé de pays et SoundTouch ne fonctionne pas? L’amplificateur n’est pas reconnu? Solutions?

Doesn’t work. Honestly one of the worst apps. It hardly ever works. We have 2 speakers connected to the app and it is constantly kicking the speakers off and not connecting. In fact one won’t even connect again. Also the music never plays from here. We have resorted to using the single working speaker and running it off of Spotify instead of this app. Pretty disappointed in the app especially for how expensive the speakers are.

Surprise friends. I love this system. I can change stations from my iPad or the controller I have in my kitchen. I can switch speakers from upstairs to the man cave while the man is trying to watch his sports channel! Haha

Musique. How can I play from Ici Musique ?

App never works!!. The absolute worst app I’ve ever used!! It never finds my speakers and can never connect with my wifi. When I had to reset my SoundTouch system and use the app to set up my speakers it never works!! Bose you need to do better and make things less complicated for people! I should be able to just plug and play!!

Abysmal. 99.99% of the time this app cannot find the sound bar. Meanwhile the soundbar plays music over the same wifi network. Can’t believe such basic programming skills cannot be found at Bose. Will never buy any of their products again

SoundTouch 10. Sound Touch 10 ; easy to install, great application! Good quality, great work Bose!

not so reliable app. The first version was really great since it change configuration. Some device get out of sync. It take long to reset the all thing. It’s really frustrating. The concept is genius but the application is poor!

So useless!. The app is super glitchy. Most of the time it says it can’t find my speaker. But even if I can connect it to my home wifi, nothing will play through the app or using the presets on the remote or on the speaker itself. The only way I can play music is to connect via bluetooth. But if all I wanted was a Bluetooth speaker, I wouldn’t have paid for a Bose SoundTouch! Bose fancies itself a high end product. NOT!!

Volume adjusting on its own and group setting. At the basic level, I have two speakers setup and the volume controls are malfunctioning. Goes up and down on its own. I just paired the devices. Second, I wish it could make its own custom groups and not just left/right pairs (which can't be individually controlled after pairing).

App cannot connect speaker to my SoundTouch account. I have Wave SoundTouch 4 system. Tried adding it to my Sound Touch account through the app. Wasted 6 months and hours of wait and talking to Bose customer support. No much help from Bose customer support either - just trial and error. I couldn’t add and Bose asking 140$ for their technician to look at. I was talking over the phone with Bose Customer Support and also simultaneously chatting on customer support messenger. For a given question, the customer support guy on the phone says a different reason than the guy I’m messaging with. They have no clue all they do is read the manual and parrot it out BOSE is NOT what it used to be. Sound quality from Apple’s ORIGINAL HOMEPOD is “million times” better than Bose Wave Sound Touch 4. Bass on Bose is terrible. Will never ever buy a BOSE product

Incomplete. I love my Bose speakers. Great sound, great look. What I don’t love is the half-baked, incomplete app and firmware. The app is glitchy. The volume control is not smooth. At times it reads quieter or louder than it actually is. Sometimes when you’re using it, it will suddenly take on a mind of its own and start increasing the volume without your permission. It will continue to do this, getting louder and louder unless you close the app and relaunch it. The speakers frequently (2-3x/week) become disconnected from the app and have to be reset by unplugging them. Lastly, the Soundlink feature for Bluetooth and Aux input playback creates a 3 second delay, making it impossible to use with any form of video. This was one of the big reasons we purchased these speakers rather than the Sonos, since we can theoretically use them when we watch a movie on the computer. We found a workaround that isn’t ideal as we lose the stereo effect, but it involves an aux cable splitter. All that to be said, it’s really confusing and disappointing that Bose would put out such great sounding speakers that are glitchy. It’s beneath the standard we’d expect from a brand like Bose.

Many years use, same issues. First off, app works fine, and is fairly user friendly. Only real option that I am aware of to link your Bose systems to each other. What would give it 5-stars? The ability to link audio from the home theater/TV system to non-visual speakers. I would love to be able to watch the game, walk into the kitchen, and still be able to hear what’s happening! Likewise I hooked my record player to the AUX connection, wish I could link this to my other speakers as well. Is there a better way I should be doing this?

Great Streaming Sound!. I bought the SoundTouch just before I went into enforced isolation after a nuclear-medical procedure. My CD changer went out and replacing to was too difficult. I wanted quality sound, access to a wide variety of music & radio and easy use. SoundTouch20 promised all that. I am extremely pleased. I considered a ST30, but really don't need the extra power b/c I now live in a townhouse so the 20 is powerful enough. I'm not a wizard with electronics or technology, and the ease of set up and use is perfect for me. This was a GREAT purchase for me! —. Four years later: I still LOVE the ST20! Still.

SoundTouch 130 should get 5 stars, if. 1. If the user manual is not as confusing. It does never mentioned that the AUX HDMI input is audio only. 2. The Optical, Coaxial, Analog and SIDE AUX inputs are very confusing. After I spent long time to find out that I have to set SIDE AUX to be audio input to accept Analog input. Analog Input is two RCA jacks labeled as R and L. If Bose updates the firmware to create one more selection for the SoundTouch/BlueTooth Button in the remote control, the problem is solved and I can use the SIDE AUX as head phone jack. I like the design and the sound is terrifically great. The system is very versatile. I am using it for my TV and Karaoke and VCR together. There is nothing in the market come close to this quality. I will change the rating to definitively 5 stars after Bose corrected the two problems about.

Great rural living solution!. We have WiFi so streaming music is enhanced. The free software and radio stations provide many new radio stations to explore. The sound is what you would expect from Bose. No surprises there. This morning it snowed so the station had a bit static which surprised me. Overall the setup was easy just keep in mind the sound machine reacts in slow motion. Enter a command when setting up the first time and wait. I got impatient and gave too many commands in to short of a time frame. Sadly this made the initial setup take some time. I just got it setup last night, so the jury is still out on how it fits into our lifestyles. I’m excited to have the Bose in the house!

Terrible software- constant problems resolved!. Update- Victor was extremely helpful and persistent and stayed with us til issue was resolved- communication between speaker software and in-home Eero network needed configuration improvements- hopefully, we’re good to go now!! Often with updates, the speakers are impossible or almost impossible to re-connect- this is repetitive and a huge inconvenience- right now, I have three of four that will not re-connect by Wireless, by USB or by Ethernet cable- getting them to connect to home wireless System is also not working- again. So no music today (since it’s Sunday and they have no customer service on Sundays!!!) It’s true what they say- Bose is a good speaker company with bad software and Sonos is a good software company with only adequate speakers- too bad Bose doesn’t understand that software is essential to leveraging their excellent speakers- next time I will buy Sonos- cannot deal anymore with the buggy software, constant disconnections, terrible user interface etc.......

Connecting.... Like many have shared, the speakers are good but the app is subpar. Constantly having to reconnect the system several times a week. After 15 mins of reconfiguring the system, I no longer want to listen to the music anymore. Otherwise the app is decent if there are no connection issues. Once in a blue moon, the system will play randomly on its own. This is something the developers at Bose need to figure out. I’m tempted to get rid of these speakers all together because I’m tired of messing with it. However, I find that if I reset the system to factory settings every 2 months, hiccups in connectivity is lessened.

Very frustrating experience with the app. I had 2 SoundTouch 10 for a while now (about 3 years). Suddenly, one of them decided to disconnect from the network and until today I haven’t been able to reconnect it (this happened about 4 months ago). I’ve tried every way I found online to try to fix this and couldn’t make it work. I’ve read that the problem is with the iOS app, and when trying to connect the speaker the error message I get is “mobile device can’t find speaker on network”. The speaker works fine with Bluetooth but won’t reconnect to the WiFi network, which is the feature I use the most. So I pretty much stopped using the Bose speakers and seriously started to consider to just buy Sonos speakers which I understand that work great with iOS.

Please allow speaker grouping. Please implement a way to set up pre-defined “groups” of bose speakers. I have 16 bose SoundTouch speakers and right now I have manually set the ones I want to play every time after starting the music. I always play from the same groups. Additionally, the interface for choosing a speaker I want to play (ie scrolling between available speakers is clunky) is frustrating. When I open the app I should immediately see a list of all available 16 speakers and just be able to click the one I want. Right now if I want to play for example the hottub speakers I have to scroll all the way to the end of the list with my finger and it takes 20 seconds longer than it should.

Fantastic app....when it’s working properly. Bose has a clean app with all the basic needs covered. Wish there was just a way to keep the WiFi connection enabled all the time. I am Frustrated with having to set up the app more often lately as it loses connection to my Bose SoundTouch 300 sound bar. It seems to take about 20 mins or so to finally get back on to normal functionality. There is no answer or “true fix” for this either as Bose claims it’s a hardware issue. All that aside the app is actually easy to use and navigate. Clean interface as well. Some custom features would be useful like skipping ahead in the current song. Aldo would like a feature to create playlists on the app directly. Maybe this is a license thing but all else seems to be unremarkable.

Excellent product, decent app. The Bose sound touch is an excellent product. Great highs & lows, easy setup, and overall great room-filling sound. The app is not revolutionary, but it gets the job done. It makes the setup a bit easier. You set a preset by dragging & dropping a station to one of the preset numbers. Those numbers match the hardware buttons on the unit. I have had some of the same issues that other users have reported where occasionally I'll start the app on my iPhone 6S & it'll say it can't find the stereo, even though both my phone & the stereo are connected via the same wifi network. I've tested this extensively by turning off the cell phone radio on my phone, only having wifi enabled, confirming I can surf the Internet, while music is playing on the stereo. It seems that when my phone has issues finding the stereo, my wife's iPhone7 doesn't have any issues connecting. I suspect a bug with AirPlay, but I've never encountered this issue with other products (like our AirPlay printer). Rebooting the stereo almost always fixes the problem. We use the stereo daily. It's the best addition to our house.

App needs some work. Just bought a SoundTouch 10 for the portability and sound quality. The speaker is great, but this app needs some serious work before I would consider adding more Bose speakers to my collection. Initial setup and Wi-Fi connectivity went well, easily figured out how to add my Pandora account, discover radio stations and program the preset buttons. The biggest problem is with this app staying connected to the speaker via Wi-Fi, and once it’s lost, having to go through the setup process all over again. Each time it occurs. 4 times in the less than 24 hours I’ve owned the product. I can move the speaker all over my house, it connects right up to the Wi-Fi and can play any of the preset channels without fail, but the app is unable to find it again without going through all the motions again.

Ridiculously Time Consuming. If my favorite Bose Sound Touch 10 speaker ever gets unplugged, it takes 30 minutes to almost an hour to repeatedly search for speaker, can’t find, press and hold 2 buttons, search, can’t find, over and over. After 20 minutes, the same thing for setting it to my home Wifi- with all being handled right next to router and speaker. Insane. I thought the lengthy updating of the app would improve the laborious process but no such luck. This has happened the same way for a couple of years. BTW I have excellent Wifi so it’s not about that. Forget about wanting to move the speaker to another room. Otherwise, when it’s connected and working I like using the app to select Pandora songs using the Bose remote.

Sound Unparalleled Anywhere and Highly Connected. I needed to replace a set of speakers in my bedroom so having been a prior owner of a Wave Radio and two other Bose products I investigated the current offerings. I own a home that is Alexa connected so something SoundTouch related seemed logical. This system coupled with Alexa and the SoundTouch app meets all of my needs. The sound is simply outstanding!! I currently have several music services associated. Given the Alexa integration I can pretty much control most aspects of the system. Please continue working on providing additional functionality of the Alexa skill. My only “wish” would be support for “Calm Radio” music service.

March 2020 update has made the app so much more stable and usable. Thank you!. When the app works, it's really great. Sometimes freezes, which is frustrating. The Pandora pop up "are you still listening?" seems to be the main culprit. Update: it has definitely gotten better. The Pandora issue has been resolved, and I’m working my way through the newest internet radio feature app. Not a wide selection of local stations, but that should improve with time. When it works, which is 95% of the time now, I love it. Troubleshooting the system still makes me nuts and I’m pretty good at troubleshooting.

Needs SiriusXM improvement and Apple Music. The Soundtouch app is wonderful and works great with my Bose speakers and Soundtouch wireless adapter. The only reason that I am writing this review is that it needs some fixing and improvement. Fixing: When I first purchased a Soundtouch unit, this software use to show the metadata (song information) when playing a SiriusXM station. It no longer does so. Every other SiriusXM app/device displays the music info, but not Soundtouch. This needs to be brought back. Improvement: Apple Music and iTunes Match music uploaded to iCloud need to be added as a service. I do know that Apple is highly proprietary, and they do have their own speaker/home device; maybe that is why they don’t contract with Bose. But my feeling is that it could be a win/win situation for both companies and the customer. I’ve held off subscribing to Apple Music for this very reason. If it is added, I am going to subscribe to Apple Music. Bose and Apple and SiriusXM have great products! But please make these improvements.

SoundTouch app & WiFi speakers, 10, 20, 30.. We love the WiFi speaker sound superior, but the app doesn’t yet support Apple Music which is terrible thing for both Apple and Bose as well, it’s long overdue that both corporations get to to the table and whatever the issue holding up the agreement, be it for whatever reason, in today’s customer needs and wants it’s should be priority 1 for both companies and app engineers to realize this priority to make their customers want to give them a 5 stars rating across the board, please resolve this already, I’ve been asking and awaiting for at least a couple of years!

Very slowly getting better. I have had Bose Soundtouch SA-5 amplifier and Bose speakers for few years now. In the beginning, connection over wi-fi was very flaky. Over the years, after many updates and especially after AirPlay 2 update last year, connection has become a breeze. Now they have added feature “Stream custom radio url” which I really like. I do wish they can make this feature into “Radio Alarm with custom radio url”. And please make it possible so the speakers always turn on at a fixed preset low volume. Often times, the speakers come on at full blast volume and my family starts yelling at me full blast.

So far. Good so far. I know it's not the app but when music is playing on a surround it would be nice to see a countdown and the picture of what's playing to move. Even if it just from one side to the other like iTunes. I know with new LCD/led tv burn in is nonexistent but some movement for "the just in case". Also with a surround being able to see my presets on the tv screen would be nice Would take the guess work out of it and if a device is not handy. Also a volume number would be nice. Pressing up or down on an iPhone moves the volume 3-4 times. Same with the slide. Maybe a plus or minus. So if u start at 10 and want to go to 8, nope sorry you get 7 or go up from there you get 11. Just a little tweak!!!??

At first I had issues. I have a few of these sound speakers all over my house and they work great but I recommend you have a good wifi signal so u don’t get drop outs .. at first my wifi signal wasn’t that strong and the speakers would lose the signal... I do admit it drove me crazy thinking it was the Bose speakers but I have a different wifi now with a better signal and haven’t had any of the speakers lose there signal at all. Now as far as the sound of the speakers? I have the whole set of soundtouch speakers and there all great sounding speakers. They aren’t cheap but if you want a quality sounding speaker , it’s Bose.

Serious fan of Bose.... but..... True to Bose form, the speakers and processing are fantastic. With everything moving toward cloud based music streaming, clearly it would make sense to focus on creating a top notch app. Unfortunately, this is a Bose fail. The app is clunky, and is constantly trying to find the Soundtouch speakers. The app also crashes frequently. It makes no sense to offer a product with wifi functionality, and then not follow through on producing a more functional system. Until Bose can work out the bugs, the app deserves no better than 2 stars. Update: latest version of the app is less buggy. However, still no native iTunes streaming. Sonos wins on that front.

Really like SoundTouch. Received A SoundTouch speaker for Christmas, which was great because this was not something I would have bought for myself. But now that we have it, we really enjoy it. The speaker has been very reliable, and I enjoy being able to listen to more variety than our over the air radio provides. The software on the iPad and iPhone works very well. I would say better, no, much better than average. Occasionally the software will update and every update has been successful. This is the type of product I enjoy using. Which is to say, I do not need to mess around with the configurations. Once it is set up, it is set up and good to go.

Love the app. I used to only connect with Bluetooth. The problem with that is Bluetooth drains your battery really fast. Since downloading the app I connect through wifi I can listen for 8 plus hours without charging my phone. Also, controlling the volume and having all my music providers in one place is great. The only issue I have is I would love for the volume to work with the buttons for the phone volume. It can be inconvenient to have to unlock my phone or get out of another app to turn the volume down. Overall I love the app!!

I wish it were better. I have five Bose devices and three iPods in my “Bose Ecosystem”. The SoundTouch app should make everything work together smoothly, right? That is not the case. Sometimes, an iPod will never find a speaker, even if the speaker is in the same room and turned on. When that happens, I have to delete then re-install the app on that iPod. Wasted time. The app itself is awkward and counterintuitive. There must be a more efficient way to select a speaker than swiping through individual screens. Maybe a different user interface would help. The concept of using an app to control all of the music throughout my house is great. But the follow-through provided by the app is very weak. I wish it were better.

BOSE SOUNDTOUCH. amazing piece of wireless equipment, it makes my backyard so alive any day on any given time! Very appealing and guest appreciation is top notch. I love it we loved it, except one downside, they got rid of SoundTouch control vice improving the piece, utilizing your phone directly with the speakers won’t work well like the control. Smart phones will disconnect itself from speakers for longer time of listening because phones MUST sleep to save power even the smart phone is plug in directly to AC charger. I hope something will get done with the app or make a new innovated BOSE sound touch control.

SoundTouch 300 with Acoustimass. SoundTouch 300 unit is phenomenal in every aspect. It can be a bit confusing for certain Bluetooth hookups but essentially very straightforward. Initial problems involved having to pair bass unit with bar at every use, but a software update a few weeks after purchase cured the issue. Pairing with bass unit is automatic and flawless every time. The sound is beyond compare. Customer service (which I had to use via text) was top notch and on top of any problem or issue I was having. This is the quintessential sound of Bose. So good, I bought a second one for the TV in my bedroom. I'm an extremely satisfied owner.

App doesn’t work with any consistency. I have used this app frequently and it has never worked consistently. Every time that I use it, either the app needs an update or the speakers need updating - I have two SoundTouch 20s and one SoundTouch 10, one speaker on each floor of my townhouse. I looked forward to being able to play them all as a set, as advertised, to have music throughout my house and I have gotten them to work together exactly once in two years. I always end up having to delete and re-add the speakers to get even basic functions to work, let alone getting them to work in sync. I expect better from a brand like Bose. When I do re-add the speakers, I find that I have to redo all of my presets as well. It is extremely frustrating and I fall back to using the individual remotes.

Bose Soundtouch. The Bose Soundtouch systems are superb. Easy to use, auto updates happen easily, very accessible from any device...incorporates favorite buttons if you want to use, including favorite Pandora stations, internet radio, or attached devices. Remote volume control, switch tunes on the fly, etc. Just very well designed. Have one at beach also, and over 6 years have called customer service a couple of times, who helped diagnose my own wireless issues...just incredibly helpful and patient. Most impressed with product and company.

Bose does it again. I remember the first wave radios that Bose made , well they've come along way baby !! The sound touch lets you integrate all your mobile devices all your internet radio stations including pandora , Sirius xm , and so on and so on . I just received my SoundTouch and I've been experimenting with all its features so far it's a great addition to my home audio . The sound is very rich and the bass is fully adjustable which is something most Bluetooth wireless speakers don't have , but the soundtouch is much more than just a speaker it's wifi equipped and when you download the free controller app it's very easy to set up and go .

Works great. I live on a boat and have been shopping for a mini bookshelf stereo for sometime. All the mini stereos, Denon, Yahama, Sony, etc are all 3+ year old designs. If your lucky, they will dock an iPhone 4 and their Bluetooth is outdated science. I started looking at Bluetooth speakers but needed wifi radio. Crappy reception where I live. This speaker solved the problem of perpetually shopping thru expensive outdated stereo setups. I give it 5 stars and am happy as a clam! On a side note, I know good sound and ain't easy to please. Only downfall is no sleep timer which upsets quite a few folks. Works good and sounds good, that is if you like the Bose midrange sound. I might recommend also paring up a smaller tweety bluetooth speaker to bring in the full range.

Fake reviews. No way it’s at 4.7 stars when the reviews are clogged with complaints about the app. Doesn’t connect. Speaker constantly can’t be found even on the same network as my phone. I can set it up and it’ll find the network then as soon as setup is complete it’ll be lost again. It’s 2020. How is this even an issue. May i have a job at Bose please? I want to get paid to do nothing. Same interface for the longest period of time. What’s the point of providing feedback if nothing addressed gets improved? Only good thing about this purchase is that I bought the speaker on sale for $100. Not a big loss. Sound is good when it’s working. But the silence and solid light on WiFi is the best feature. Gives me time to meditate while the speaker shows its connected but the app says it isn’t.

Bose sound touch is awesome. The Bose sound touch is awesome he picks up more Internet radio stations and I could ever imagine from talk to electric music or should I say from talk radio both a.m. FM shortwave and Internet and electric on music is awesome and I get so many choices I get probably over 10,000 different radio stations I hope they add more I get excellent radio receiving at a good price and it’s well worth the price I like to think it’s the people at bowls for an awesome Wi-Fi radio machine and I can play and I can play CDs was no problem people at bowls are very professional thank you for everything considerably yours JOHN R. Love my Bose system. Bought SoundTouch 10. 3 speakers. 3 different rooms. Able to operate all functions from iOS phone and iOS iPad and iMac. Very convenient. Some knowledge is needed to update each product when Bose does an update and when Apple does updates. Must reinstall Bose software from installer. All must be rebooted then. Took awhile for a 73 year old forever Apple user to get the updates working but if I candidates it anyone can. Or go to the help boards. The Boze help always gets me over the hump. Thanks for the support. I love my system. Bought it in1995. Still in love with it this may yesrs later❤️

Bose SoundTouch 300. I have the complete setup bass module and surrounds. With the latest software update it is without a doubt Bose best. 4 stars because it's still evolving. I'd like to see the app be able to totally replace the need to have the remote along side me during movies. As a Mac and IOS fan the Apple Bose experience is much improved. I’ve personally contacted Bose regarding my displeasure with the software and connection issues in the past. Apparently it did some good. Connectivity issues resolved running 5g modem and I refused to use 2.4 because it should have been fixed much earlier. Good job Bose. My joy is back when turning this unit on.

Sub par quality. Let me start off with this.... the sound quality is amazing.......however, the “internet radio” is terrible! No matter what speed the bandwidth is the radio will cut out at random times sometimes doing so 5-10 times in a few minutes. Some days it’s great and works as fine. There is ZERO consistency! Now let me get down to the app....... This is BY FAR the worst app I have ever come into contact with....for 6 whole months I could not connect to it some weeks it would be my phone and others my Apple Watch. Just now the radio cut out and asked me to set a preset but my phone couldn’t even find the dang speaker! I had to walk over to the radio (mind you it’s in a business and it’s about 50 feet away and I’m with a customer) and manually select a preset. Finally, when the stupid app updates (which is a regular occurrence) I cannot use it for at least 3-4 hours before the app will communicate with the freaking radio..... Seriously Bose get your I.T. Guys on this and fix the problem!

Amazing sound and ease of use!!. I purchased the Bose SoundTouch 30 to replace the old surround sound system I had in my office. I use it for gaming and music. I knew it would have great sound because it is a Bose, but I didn’t know it would sound as good or better than my current home theater system. I placed it in front of my entertainment center to play music for an event because the surround system is more difficult to play music from my iPhone. Everyone was shocked at the depth and quality of the sound it produced. My surround sound system is a recent denon receiver with Boston Accoustics speakers and a klipsch 12” subwoofer. The Bose SoundTouch 30 has better highs, midrange, and sub!

Networked 4 Speakers and Loving It. I have successfully networked my 4 SoundTouch speakers with both wired and wireless connections. The Sound Touch software does a great job in connecting various speakers and the music is in sync so there is no echo as I move from room to room. I can stream iTunes via an Airport Express to the Aux connection and broadcast the music throughout the house. Earlier versions of the Sound Touch software were a bit confusing but the newer versions are much easier to use. I have worked with Bose support on a couple of connectivity issues that were solved.

Used to work great!!. So it looks like there was an update 3 days ago. That’s good to know because that’s exactly when this app stopped working. It had its glitches over the past couple of years, but this is the worst. I’ve rebooted my iPad x6 with no luck. Then deleted the app and re-installed, now on the 3rd try at that. Still no luck. The app tries to open and it spins for hours and still nothing, a blank screen with the tiny little spinning circle, nothing more. Would love to experience the great sound of my Bose SoundTouch speakers again. Anybody have a suggestion that might solve this?

So far, so great. Not only was the set-up very easy and the app very intuitive but the sound quality of the SoundTouch 30 is great. We've streamed pop, rock, R&B and country and the sound is crisp, clear and loud. The bass is excellent and can be adjusted to accommodate your taste. The app allows for simple streaming from Pandora,Amazon Music etc as well as a selection of playlists and radio stations associated with the app. The wi-fi set up was very simple and works flawlessly as does the Bluetooth option. We have a theater system in our basement and didn't want another complex, multi-component system and the sound touch was a perfect solution for our living room.

Very buggy app :(. I have SoundTouch 300 along with the Acoustimass 300 and the Virtually Invisible 300 rear surround speakers. Almost every day I have to plug out my wife router and the SoundTouch speaker in order to listen internet radio. I m so tired using this junk. I paid so much money for this equipment but it’s useless. Sound is great when it works but if it doesn’t work how can I enjoy with it. I m guessing there is some connectivity issue between speaker and wifi router. How could this issue became unresolvable I don’t understand, this supposed to be highest priority if Bose cares their products reputation. FYI- error codes I m getting are mostly (1025, 4101) I hope Bose will pay attention to this issue

They now demand your location to use. I bought the Bose SoundTouch IV and enjoy it. But now it stopped working if I want to control it through my iPad. After some looking I see it now insists on me giving it my geographical location via their app. I said no, and the app said sorry it can’t be set up now. To me it seems that they are deliberately withholding my access to the product, for the purpose for which I bought it, until I now allow them to geolocate me. I can’t see how that is a technical requirement, it is forcing their way into my private life by disabling a product that I paid hundreds of dollars for until I give into their demands. I want to ask them, are you selling my location? What technical need is driving this? How do you financially benefit from this?

Great product. Bought the SoundTouch 300 along with the Acoustimass 300 subwoofer as a replacement for an existing Samsung sound bar and subwoofer. The sound is exceptionally clear. With the Samsung I found myself having to increase the volume to make out conversations or dialogue when watching TV. With the SoundTouch conversations/ dialogue is crisp and clear at lower volumes. Amazing! I also use the app to play music through the system. Of course music sound good through the SoundTouch but what's cool about it is that the system can be powered on from the app so I can be in any room in my house and through the app play and control my music! Very practical piece of equipment.

WiFi. Don’t bother with this app. The app says speakers need updating every time you open the app. Then the speaker signal won’t connect to your device, so you spend 30+ minutes trying to get them connected. Once they connect, for me, they won’t pick up a signal to play anything. Tried contacting support when my speakers wouldn’t update- what a joke! I spent the first 20 minutes with Marvin walking me through steps to connect the speakers to my device, which I said at the beginning they were connected. So then he decided that I just needed to wait out the update that wouldn’t budge. 24 hours later it updated. Now I can’t get my device to stay connected to the speakers or a signal to actually play music. But my speakers updated 3 times... maybe if I restart the app I can update the speakers again! So glad we have this expensive giant electronic paperweight and useless app

Usually great. We started with one sound bar unit in our family room and soon added a IV in the kitchen. Finally added a SA-5 with some 251's outside in our English garden and deck. It is fantastic when we are entertaining and can have the same music at appropriate levels in all areas. We did add stereo volume controls to the 2 sets of speakers outside so they can be different (app doesn't allow that on one SA-5 unit). About once a month the IV needs to be reconnected. That is the only complaint. Well, the price is a bit high but it does seem to be the best available now so I could either pay or go with a second rate product.

Bose Soundbar / Bass Module / Surround Speakers Combination. Two weeks after purchase and setup, I am very pleased with SoundTouch 300 Soundbar, Bass Module 500, Surround Speakers on UFS-20 floorstands combination. Excellent sound for music and movies, versatile control via supplied remote and SoundTouch app on smartphone and tablet. Seamless transitions among TV, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth inputs. Physical design of components and system visual appearance are outstanding. Supplied installation documentation is very minimal and initially had difficulty connecting bass module. Web research and software update via the SoundTouch app required to enable connection. Once initially connected, the system has been operating flawlessly. I highly recommend this product combination.

Loving it 16 yrs of sound!. Loving my outdoor system, It has not been flawless but that’s due to the age of my system 16 years of service flawlessly for 16yrs. My Lifestyle SA-2 amplifier failed any it was time for an upgrade. I replaced it with the Bose SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier works well with Alexa . I’m back in the sound business and it has been working well for the past 2yrs. Therefore, I will be due for an upgrade in 14 years lol If you don’t have a Bose outdoor system you’re making a grave mistake and not having one. If your inside listening to your bose musics then must get an out outside listening System. Folks enjoy!

Enjoy your hair now, you’ll be ripping it out soon. This is the most infuriating app I have ever had to use. To start, I love my two bose WiFi speakers. I have a sound touch 10 and 20. Their sound is great and once connected to a network stream very well. This app however, needs to be trashed and rebuilt. Ascetics, integration, and functionality all left me incredibly disappointed in my decision to purchase the bose sound touch system. The only time the app functions properly is connecting to a Bluetooth device. Outside of that, it constantly searches for my speakers and then says they can’t be found or that there is no WiFi connection. All while streaming crystal clear music that I have no control over which clearly means both my device and speakers are connected to the same network. You can do better bose...

Much improved, but.... This app has really improved over time and is very useful and practical. We have one gripe and this happens often: we use the app to setup the 4 speakers through out the house to sync, but when we reopen the app, the speakers are disconnected, they do not respond when adjusting the volume. We “kill” the app and after reopening it will work again. I looked at the settings, but did not find a setting I could change. Is this a bug that could be fixed, or can you tell what I need to do to make work all the time? Thank for listening😉 John Kubler

App can’t find speaker. I love Bose products and my problem isn’t with the speaker itself, it’s with this app. It a daily occurrence that this app can not connect to the speaker. I will open up the app and nearly every-time and have to reconnect the speaker to my phone. This can take about 5-10 minutes. Once in while I can understand having to do this, but everyday/every time I open the app! Not worth it. I have made a few complaints to Bose about this already but still nothing has changed in the nearly 3 years I’ve owned this speaker. I wish something would get done about it.

Awesome. I love this app, because I love music. I can find anything for any occasions. I love a variety of music. Motown Christmas Carrols today and Country Music Classics, Oldies, R&B, Jazz, Classical, and Hip Hop & Rap for the younger generation. When I purchased my Bose a few years back, it has become my absolute favorite possession and I use this app to bring great sound and so much variety in my home. Thanks for bringing such a wonderful app to all of us music lovers. This wonderful sound touch app is easy to use with WiFi & blue tooth. I am constantly expanding my music and find it extremely easy to create channels I love. Merry Christmas & Thank You.
