ABOUT LITTLE SOLVER - FIGURAL ANALOGIES

Little Solver is a fun and exciting game to help kids sharpen their minds by developing critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills. While an analogy is nothing more than a comparison that points out relationships between things that are different, cognitively for kids it plays a significant role in developing analytical reasoning, problem solving, perception, and spatial relational skills.

Figural analogies are also frequently seen on placement tests. Whether you believe in them or not, standardized tests are part of almost every kids life starting as early as 3 years of age. Fortunately, with Little Solver mastering figural analogies is fun and exciting.

This application will help your kids dramatically improve their analytical reasoning skills and give them the confidence to breeze through any test that includes figural analogies.

Versatile. As a Speech Language Pathologist I not only use this app with children, I use it with adults. I appreciate the data tracking for each subset.

Warns you it will slow down your iPhone.. Some answers are too easy, some illogical. Very fast paced with no time to explain correct or incorrect answers to kids. It did make my phone hiccup. Touch screen became unresponsive. Looks like 99cents only gets you so much.

Bravo. You all have done it again. Another fantastic app! Thank you again.!!!

Wonderful. I have only had this app for a few days and it is already one of my 5 yr old's favorite "games". It is more educational than a game but she doesn't know that!

Not be very impressive. I am a prof in higher education in technical area and I use the app for my 1st grader. I have two issues with this app: 1- even if you pause the test in the middle of it, when you come back you start from the beginning or from the easier levels. 2- the answer to some questions is either not very rational or are more than one answer that seem to be correct .

Great app. I know this is supposed to be for my AUT students but I find myself playing it on the weekends.

Little solver- figurative anologies. In general a very good app but would like brief pause to allow child to to consider error and/ or receive help before going on. Dr mom

Really disheartening. For a game designed for small children, and claiming to be a learning app, I was really surprised to see that the overall objective of the game was simply to not fail. Unfortunately, when a child makes too many errors, the game brings up a black screen showing them what their failing percentage grade is and makes them start over again at the lowest level. After purchasing this app for my five-year-old to make studying for the NNAT just a little bit more fun, it was especially sad to see her try so hard to get through the higher levels, and then become so frustrated that she ultimately gave up after it showed her how many times she failed. The app may only cost 99 cents, but for the amount of time that it’s going to take me to get her to even want to practice again in some other form, I really want a refund.

chrisbevy. The premise of the app is good but I think this is too difficult for most young children. With only one example it is hard to determine what the comparison is for some.

My daughter loves this. My daughter loves this app. She is always asking to play it. Love these apps. All of them!

Nice app!. Would have given it 5 stars, but it seems to have a few issues. Some are pretty challenging.

Highly recommend. Great for problem solving skills.

Grandma Midvale. I got this for my grand kids and found it is a good game for myself -- analogies have never been one of my strengths.

Fun for the whole family. My 3 & 4 year old can play this if I pick the easier levels for them to play. And my hubby and I enjoy it to. I had been looking for a way to introduce analogies to my kids and this it it!!

Download it!. I downloaded this for my four-year-old but ended up playing it myself. Some of these puzzles are pretty challenging!

Smart. My daughter is so smart and gifted. She gets all of the questions right, it is actually too easy for her she is so smart. Smarter than the other kids.

Too difficult for young children. This app is too difficult for young kids. It would be better for older students. Also, it needs to give more feedback if you get the answer wrong so you learn the patterns. It would also be better if it gave some hints or clues on how to solve the analogy as way of scaffolding. Needs some work and then it could be a better app.

Highly inaccurate. This game is not designed accurately. Waste of money! I requested a refund, hopefully they will process it.

Great analytical skill developer. My 5 year old enjoys this app immensely. We have only a few of the comparative challenges enabled as he builds his skill level but that's plenty challenging for him.

Great app!. This is a wonderful thinking skill app! Thanks for helping my child.

A little hard but great app overall. I may not use this with preschoolers as much as young school age kids. But I like the idea of figurative analogies. Thanks for the app!

*****Applauding*****. Stellar App! My little guy so enjoys figural analogies. What a awesome way to discover a non-verbal child's real skills. This app is non-distractive, yet inviting. Way to go!

Great app!. This is a great refresher on matching and patterns for my 12 year old who has Down syndrome.

Good problem solving apps. I like this apps because it helps kids learn problem solving skills through process of elimination and association. One thing that would help is including a tutorial for the kids on what to look for.

Love it. I love that it is visual and you can adjust for what levels you want.

Little analogies. The analogies could have started with familiar items and worked into the abstract as a learning process. Sometimes I need help to understand the correct choice. Could an explanation be added? Yolanda

Great app. Great app for my students who don't have many other opportunities to work with analogies and problem solving. It's an easy way to expose students to abstract problem solving that we don't formally teach in school.

Teacher Loves this. I teach critical thinking And math and my students are going to love this. Students of all levels love figural analogies.

Smart game. A very smart way to develop kids logic and psichometric abilities as a game and stats to see the development.

Rational. Very interesting, even for an adult. However, there were a couple of times when the reason behind the matchup was obscure or unconvincing.

Engages critical thinking. This app gets lots of raves, and I agree. My kids are 7 & 8. Neither one got the math gene so math sentences, equivalence, subtraction etc are not intuitive concepts. Little Solver gives them a chance to work with these concepts visually. The app gives you the option to set the number of analogy decision rules in the game, letting you build the complexity. This app provides fun training in critical thinking skills. I am hoping the developers will continue to expand the symbols, patterns to allow continual interest and complexity.

Very good app!. My four yr old likes playing with this app it really gets him thinking and its fun. I like how you can adjust the settings for your child.

Terrific App. It's a great app but not for young toddlers that are just learning their patterns; maybe for kids that are in higher grades - 2nd grade on... I also see it for adults to practice their analytical thinking. Great but not for small children. Too complicated and the illustrations are not animated enough to hold a child's interest.

Needs work. An example: In some cases, if you rotate the shape correctly you get the right answer, in other cases you don't, because the correct answer is not to rotate but instead to mirror and contrast, but both choices are available. So you just have to guess which one is right or perhaps play the game enough to have some idea which section you are likely doing.

Great app. My son loves this app. Good for challenging gifted kids as you can change levels.

CB in WV. Love this app! Great tool to develop critical thinking for my second grade students.....and myself.

GiGi S/LP. The idea for the app is great. Some of the analogies don't work, though. With a little more one tuning, it could be a great app.

Awesome and fun for all ages!. Hard to put this one down. It is fun and challenging. Love that you can customize and work at your own developmental level and choose your own verbal rewards. "Good Job!"

Cool but needs a change. Very interesting, but it needs the ability to pause after being told correct or incorrect so that you can try to determine why you were right or wrong. Otherwise, someone who guesses wrong 2 or 3 times in a row could get frustrated.

A great app for thinking skills. I used this app with my prek students and they loved it. Keeps them engaged.

Challenging. It was difficult to know what was supposed to be the right answer for some of the mirror image ones, because I didn't realize that was the analogy it was looking for.

Something different. I like that this is app is a little different. I especially like how you can select different types of puzzles if there is a particular need. Haven't had a chance to show it to my students but I think they will like it.

Just What I Was Looking For!. This is a very cool app for learning analogies using different figures. I've been looking for something like Little Solver for my clients with visual processing difficulties. (I need a little practice with this myself)!

Tricky!. This. Is not just for little ones. I found that it was challenging for all elementary kids and even some middle schoolers. Fun to talk through with kids as they are trying to figure out their responses.

Good Intent. I really liked the idea behind the app. Some of the comparisons made were not right. Even I was confused by some. I'm no genius but I can compare pretty well. To say this is for preschoolers I feel is a bit unfair. I realize you can set the difficulty levels but as I mentioned before, some of the comparisons are wrong.

Targets older kiddos. Great customization and data collection. Help kids to express the reason for the selection and/or why not the others.

Fun little app. Nice app for my three year old. A couple of the more advanced puzzles made me think for a bit too.

Specialneedsteacher. Wonderful and educational. Definitely worth five stars.

Great for school age kids!. I love the app for children 5 and older. It increases their powers of observation and logical thinking. Even the easiest task demands focused attention and higher level abstract thinking, therefore I do not feel this is appropriate for preschoolers. Great app to keep ME sharp!

Mildly embarrassed. So as an adult I struggled with a few of these. I almost don't want to let the kids play until I can "beat" it. Loving this game.

Great app. My son loves this app.

Love it!. Love it!

Quickly lost interest. Some analogies do not make sense, as another user noted
