Questions. Some of the questions have the end cut off. Usually I can figure out what it’s trying to say but not always!!

Unreadable. Bought this app that a fellow student found. Downloaded it and tried to use i5. When I go to study part, it has a light background and white lettering for the questions. I can’t make out the questions. Tried contacting tech support via this app 3x with no response.

Great. Exact questions as written exam. Only 10 or so different ones on real exam but this gives you the tools to figure those out too

Won’t allow to create a bank of hard questions.. I wish it would allow me to save or create a bank with the questions that I am currently struggling with. The only way to do it is going through the whole section again instead of using all my energy and time into the questions that I am having a hard time with

Very happy. I used this to help pass my written - I got a 90 and took me less than 30 minutes to take the exam. In fact when I walked out of the testing room the administrator asked if something was wrong. I said - no, I'm finished. He was shocked. This was not my only source - however, I can assure you that you can pass with this alone. I don't recommend that because you learn the test and not the material. You should learn the material - and use this to practice for the test.

They don’t fix errors.. I have found several questions to have wrong answers. They even conflict with the exact same question in the book. I have taken the time to submit several of these questions and pictures of the errors etc. Here we are over 1 1/2 years later and the STILL haven’t fixed the answers.

Great Tool!. I’m a Private Pilot Glider. Adding Airplane category. 98 on both knowledge tests with The help of this app. You will have to do some digging to understand all areas, but this will help you plan and execute your campaign. I used ASAs practice test package to get my test-taking endorsement for ASEL. $15 more but also very helpful. Includes 5 exams. You pass 3 and ASA will send an endorsement. This test pkg is kind of hard to find. Or your CFI may just give you the necessary endorsement upon demonstrating knowledge. I went that route with my CFIG. All in all, great products. I’ll be exploring the Commercial and Instrument offerings after I get my tail-wheel.

Brilliant to study the Q bank!. This app is perfect if you have already studied the majority of the syllabus and merely want to make sure you gain experience in the type of questions that you will be asked in the PPL written exam! Since purchasing this app my grades in practice exams have shot up by a considerable margin! If you are serious about passing your PPL written exam, this app is a must buy, and for only $10 it's not going to break the bank!

iPhone X Screen Compatibility. Hey ASA any chance you guys can release an update that makes the Prepware Apps compatible with iPhone X screen? Other than that keep up the great work!!

Okay Questions but Weak Features. The questions are well put together and make good sense. The issue is that the app is very weak in terms of letting you see how you have been doing, having intelligence to focus you on areas you struggle, etc. if the features within the application matured, this would be a top-notch application as the questions are solid.

Great app - got a 97% on the private rotorcraft test. Great way to study, just use this casually whenever you have spare time and you'll be ready in no time. Only thing it, it's not so good for the nav questions because of the small screen. I relied on the web version on my computer for those.

No Review. If you get one wrong, it doesn’t let you review your wrongs and correct them. Computer version is better

Wow. The best app for faa test I got 97% from this app

Garbage. Primitive app. Doesn’t have any sort of function that stops showing you questions you already know, so you’ll waste tons of time re-covering content you’ve already learned.

Study and you’ll pass. I recently took my PAR FAA written in beginning of April and scored a 93 due to only 2/60 questions that was not the same from the app. I wish the app had choice of scrambling answer choices to make it more realistic but if you study the questions as in answers + explanations for the mathematical section, you’ll do great. See you all in the sky.

Good app but could get better support from ASA. App is very useful in studying for the exam. Private pilot questions are pretty accurate. Their other apps, like instrument, have erroneous questions, outdated questions, missing figures. Worst of all, now the status bar at the top has a bug in which the text font is black on black background. So your score is not visible! I have to tell my students to switch the iPad to dark mode to see their score. All of these bugs need to be fixed and the developer needs to be more responsive to get a higher rating.

Not worth it if it doesn’t save your progress. Honestly great questions but what’s the point if when you click “save and exit” and the ACTUAL TEST DOESNT SAVE ANY OF YOUR WORK. That’s just awesome for an 88 question section. Even if I don’t quit the app and come back in after more than 10 minutes the app resets to homepage. Oh and on top of that the quiz shuffles the questions so you can’t even pick up where you left off. Seriously, get it together with progress saving. Don’t just but a button on there that doesn’t work.

Not enough questions. Most of the questions need to be updated and need to have more questions in your bank compared to gleim book.

Dark Mode hard to read. White text on gray background is just murder on the eyes... please fix. Other than that it’s exactly what I needed

Passed with 90%. This app is so easy to study on it..

New update degraded the app!!!. This a great learning tool for taking tests but the most recent update degraded the app a bit, the interface looks pretty bad and the right answers are not highlighted anymore when you get a question wrong. With the highlights the purpose of the app is defeated. PLEASE REVERT BACK TO THE OLD VERSION

Great app. Just got a 90% on my FAA airman knowledge exam thanks to this app. Highly recommend.

Could be better. I bought this app because I need to cram for my upcoming test. It does an "alright" job but there are a number of things I would change. 1. put better reference information in the explanations. The explanation is short, so if I want to go look up the specifics, give me a page or section number. 2. allow me to resize the figures on my iPhone. I can look at the figures, but I can't zoom out so I can see all the information... very annoying. 3. if I get a question wrong, just show me the explanation and don't make me click to read it. I find myself clicking too many times to get anything done. I would wait to buy this until they update the app, there are other better ones out there.

Nothing beats ASA prep... but.... I've taken some practice tests for the FAA PAR written exam via the Sporty's app and also on the ASA site. When I saw the ASA app the purchase was a no-brainer. ASA's test prep is stellar. Their test prep books are the gold standard. Their practice tests rise above those on the Sporty's app. (The test questions seem harder on ASA- which is good.) However, the ASA iPad app disappointed me a bit: The practice tests on the app don't "score" your grade - just highlight the wrong answers. I expected practice tests akin to their website, which not only scores your grade but scores each topic area individually and provides a green/yellow/red strength/weakness report by topic. Therefore, I'm only giving this app 3 stars.

Nice!. I just got home from passing my private pilot written - this app helped a lot! This was worth the money to help me review and improve my test taking skills. Pros: reference images are provided and of moderate quality; "study" mode and "test" mode for review and practice, respectively; accurate and comprehensive question bank; satisfactory interface; airplane, glider, lighter-than-air, powered parachute, and rotorcraft test question options included; comprehensive explanations Cons: no way to systematically study, since the questions are random (Invest in a book, for heaven's sake! If you can read text on an iPhone, you can read a book!) I am also satisfied with this application's stability; it has worked perfectly for me from the start.

Better than Sporty’s. Much better than Sport’s app (which also costs more). Works best on iPad. I give this app credit for achieving a 93% on FAA Private Pilot Written Exam.

Worth the money!. I never write reviews for anything, but after making this purchase I feel I have too. The app is easy to use and well put together. I would run through questions over and over until I felt like I had a proper understanding of why I got the question right or wrong. The explanations were spot on and helpful. Couple this app with your ground school and you will be set to score a high score on your knowledge test!

Well worth it!. I have the iPad mini 2, and everything works great. I took my FAA written today (09-Jan-2014) and received a 92%. There were a few questions on the exam that we're not in here BUT the FAA did just put out new questions recently. I gave this app 4 stars only because it would be nice to be able to study more than one section at a time, like you do with the computer program of prep-ware. If you need to study aerodynamics and navigation, then check their boxes and study all their questions in a random order. Over all, super happy with this app and just purchased the instrument app as well.

Question crossover. Received questions in the rotorcraft sections that were completely incorrect as they referred fixed-wing regulations. Many instances of irrelevant of gyrocopter and fixed-wing questions in the rotorcraft section. Does not display correct/incorrect answers properly with dark theme enabled on phone.

Apple Watch support. Can you please add function to application, that it can have support to iWatch

Very good product. I bought this app to supplement my King School ground course, took several random tests and got a 93% on my PAR, so definitely read up on the questions you miss and you will do well.

Excellent. This has been my primary study method since I can take it anywhere and spend a lot of time away from home and I got a 98% on the written as a result. Through explanations and the questions are virtually identical to the real thing. It's worth the $10. Just make sure that when you miss a question you take the time to go learn the relevant material rather than memorize the answers and you'll be good to go.

Dark mode compatibility. Great material but contrast is very off when Dark Mode is enabled. Would give 5 star if that is fixed

Please fix text.. When the device is in dark more the app is almost impossible to use. Why would it make sense to put white text on a light gray background??? The app was great until it updated and now when I’m studying or doing the practice tests and my iPad is in dark mode, I have to hurt my eyes trying to concentrate on the words...

Student Pilot. I'm 48 years old and haven't taken such a comprehensive test in 25 years! I found this app while searching for a flash card app for the ppl exam. I had already been through the Gleim book when I found this app and realized there is no substitute for the information in the FAR/AIM, PHAK and AFH! This app does a masterful job of identifying your strengths and weaknesses so that you may study the areas you are weak. I used this app every day on my phone and iPad for two weeks as I had time. Took my written yesterday and made a 95%. Wonderful product guys!! Ill use the next one for my instrument and commercial! Thanks!!

Perfect for airman knowledge test. Excellent app. Scored a 93% on my airman knowledge test. Just had 1 test question that was not on the app. “Lowest altitude of an aerobatic aircraft is?.... 1500 feet. Other than that, excellent!

Has errors. Some of the questions that need referencing sectional charts are off. For example, it'll ask for the CTAF frequency for Redbird airport, but the correct frequency as shown on the chart isn't one of the multiple choices. Or you'll be ask to refer to section 6 on the chart, but section 6 isn't on the chart provided. I have other ASA products and expected more from this established company and brand. They should know better than to release a half-baked product. I've had the app for over a year, so they've had time to issue an update to fix these problems, but it doesn't seem like they are supporting this app.

Want it refund. I know this is great app but from now I dont need this app, I mistakenly downloaded like 5m ago. Plz refund it for me. Thx

Good APP but with issues. The APP offers the choice to save before exit each study module. When the user selects save and exit, it fails to do so. A return to the section shows no questions answered and you have to start over. No opportunity to review only the items missed.

White on white questions?. Why are the questions fomt color white on top of a light background they are so hard to see!!!!!

Gave me the knowledge to get 98% on my written!. Prepware does a wonderful job of helping me to practice for the exams, and I love being able to save my exam if I have to quit in the middle of one. I just hit save and exit then next time I open the app I have the resume button right on the main screen!

Worth it, GREAT HELP. This test prep has almost all the same questions that show up on the actual exam. The best part is the accuracy and the well detailed explanations that really help the student (me) under the topics and the questions. Because of the software after studying for a week I passed with a 90%. I’d say it’s super worth it.

Everything organized, needs UI update. I love this app and and would recommend it to everyone. My only gripe with this app is the UI. It’s very functional but needs to be updated to work with the iPhone X/Xr/Xs and the new iPad Pro. Overall great app.

10/10 would recommend. Every single question on my written was on the app, granted they were worded a little differently but if you understand the question then the answer becomes clear. Same numbers as the written for the calculations again the only difference we’re how things were worded. I would highly recommend studying using this app!!!!

Poor app.. About the only good thing that I can say about this app compared to the GroundSchool app that I ended up mostly using is that this one cost less. other than that, I found it pretty buggy .. For example, when you click on "grade" it gives you a box "do you want to grade" but only one choice essentially.. Yes. Howeve,r the biggest problem is the explanations. They are generally little more than restatements of the correct answer, and none are illustrated, it's particularly bad for flight planning questions.. It's basically impossible to learn those, weather, weight and balance, and performance questions since the explanations are so meager. This app is clearly aimed only at those who want to memorize, not learn.

Great practice material. The questions were very similar if not identical to what was on the actual FAA test. I felt my study using Prepware really got me ready for the exam.

Best studying resource out there!. App was a godsend, studied exclusively on this app and passed with a 95%. Questions are eerily similar to the real one. Choose this one instead of sporty’s because ASA is more prominent and prints almost all the materials out there, so why not go with source.

Excellent and now with the ARE YOU SURE BUTTON!. I did my exam today and got 95% because of this software its great! I totally recommend it! Thanks for listening and adding the 'Are you sure button' a little late for me and the update for the new questions but they were pretty similar and someone else will definitely benefit from it. Plus I can now check the ones I got wrong. I sit with my left hand on the top left corner so every now and then during a test I would hit the back butting and drive myself insane so am very glad you put that fail safe in. Hopefully you added it to your other stuff as well as I'll be getting those soon too. Thanks again!

Very useful app and a great deal for $10. Really nice app. The only big drawback are the questions that reference a chart or diagram. They are too cumbersome to expand and view. The regular study/test questions and the explanations of the correct answers works very well. For $10 it beats the hell out of programs that cost a lot more. Plus the portability of being able to do a question while you're stuck at a light, waiting for an appointment, etc, is great. It would be nice if you could vary the length of the test modules. Right now all you can do are 60 questions per session. Not that it matters because you can shut off the app any time and fire it back up to see new questions.

Version 1.52 Bug. I’ve been using this app to study for my private pilots knowledge test and I loved it up until the new update. The question and answers are in white in front of a white background which makes it impossible to read. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-downloading, but to no avail. Please fix this

Just as good as the prepware. For 10$ this app is great. It has all the questions the actually asa book has. Study on the go with your phone.

Was great, until the update. This app was awesome until the the most recent update was released. Most of the questions are incomplete. I seriously hope a fix is coming and fast!

Some good some bad. There is some great information in this app. Reviewing and answering the questions has helped me tremendously. The bad part is that there are too many questions with wrong answers. It's caused me to do a lot of additional research to verify wrong answers. Then I'd confirm it with my instructors. This REALLY needs to be cleaned up. Then I'd give this app a much higher rating.

Great app!. I used this to study for my private pilot exam and it is simply excellent, sometimes it might be boring for some to study from the test guide book but if you are looking for some good and handy app to study for the exam, this one is it. I did my exam already and got a 88% All my friends in the aviation school highly recommend this one, so do I jeje.

Elegant. Well designed. Great buy.. I'm just waiting for the rest of the tests now ;)

Very Useful App. The people who left a 2 star rating did not have a good iPhone or did not know how to use the app. If you take a test with the computer supplement like the actual test it will be fine and portable. I used this app along with ground instruction and passed my written with a B : )

Good. The information is very useful, but I would like to see a refresh in user interface and an up to date app that supports the iPhone 6s.

Great app. This app was perfect to supplement the books. I passed with 97%. I could go threw the answers and rationals when I had a moment without dragging all my books with me. Navigation is not possible, but you can use the test booklet. I like the brake down of the sections. I hope the Instrument and Commercial are just as good.

Needs Improvement. Not bad for the money but I thought I'd be able to study different subjects individually. Other than that I think it's money well spent.

Update!. The same with the AMT app. The new look is great but the the questions and answers are shown incomplete or cutoff when the app is used in an iPhone5. Please fix it. It makes it difficult to understand the question with the words cut off. Is a great app to study on the go! Thank you!!!!

Disappointed. This app was recommended to me by my flight instructor. Bad choice. This app is full of errors in question wording, double answers, and only partial questions. Please go buy a better app, this one is useless.

Great study material. I just finished my private pilots knowledge test (airplane) and passed (1st try) thanks to this app! The practice test are nearly identical to the real test. Well worth the money and better value than a book.

Problem fixed. Thank you for listening. It looks good. I recommend this app for all student pilots who are planning to take the FAA test.

Finally!. Thank you for adding Subject/Area of Study selection option so I can study and practice for what I need to work on! You guys are awesome! Please do the same for your Instrument Prep App.

Stick with the books kids. Everything was great until I found a question with a wrong answer. After 2 weeks of studying and taking the tests over and over. I am freaked out, how many more wrong answers were provided?

Well worth it!. I have the iPad mini 2, and everything works great. I took my FAA written today (09-Jan-2014) and received a 92%. There were a few questions on the exam that we're not in here BUT the FAA did just put out new questions recently. I gave this app 4 stars only because it would be nice to be able to study more than one section at a time, like you do with the computer program of prep-ware. If you need to study aerodynamics and navigation, then check their boxes and study all their questions in a random order. Over all, super happy with this app and just purchased the instrument app as well.

Excellent app and CURRENT. Biggest advantage this app has is they update the question bank regularly. Scored a 98 on private pilot written other day

Has potential. Relatively easy to use. However the save functionality does not work. Several times I have been half way through a quiz and lost my work because of this. You can leave the app and return to the same spot, however you loose this if you go to a memory hungry app before you return. I would give an extra star for each of the following functions. Save functionality that works. Exporting results to pdf or other common format, and syncing across devices.

Questions are truncated on iPhone. The test questions are truncated when viewed on my iPhone. The iPad app does not seem to have this problem. Unusable on my iPhone until fixed.

Honest review from a UND student pilot. The exam is identical with the practice questions that are provided. There may be some number alterations but the majority of the questions are identical. For some questions did not even have to read the question because I remembered seeing the answer on PrepWare. I ended up scoring a 94! Thank you very much!!

Great practical app. I will buy right away the instrument rating equivalent of this app!!! Do it soon. Thanks

Trust Me it Worth It. This is a great app. I used ASA app for both the Private Pilot and IFR Rating test and both were above 90%. There are is a “Study Mode” which was useful. Explanations were provided. Maps, graphs and other references were provided, similar to the test. It looks and feels just like the test which made the test a breeze. My scores were within a percent or two of my actual exam score. For the money you CANNOT beat it.

Ok, needs some tweaks. It would be very nice to have a confirmation when in test mode for grading and exiting. I've accidentally exited the test 3 times, once when I had one question left. I also have accidentally hit the grade button when I'm only about 10 or so questions into it. I also think it needs the option to bookmark a question in test mode.

100% on the written. I self studied ground school. Reading the books alone would not have been enough. This app helped me get prepped for the specific types of questions. Went through this app the weekend prior reading and doing each question and aced the written. $10 well spent.

reflects current test (headings 1* off on some,). Good app, worth the $10. Got 93% on private RW. (Guessed on 4 questions I missed, but saw the same questions in the app, so had the opportunity!)

Exit button gone?. This is a good app overall for practice testing, but a big problem is that the back button for figures is gone. Whenever I go to a figure I now have to kill the app to get back to the practice test. Which isn't...really a practical way to do it.

Love it, except.... It can't seem to hold a practice session if I go to doing other stuff. If I get distracted and come back after having done other apps or after closing the phone it starts all over at the beginning.

Data. Nevermind you guys fixed the update!

Works as advertised and I passed. Does exactly what it's supposed to the practice tests generated were and invaluable part of my success. I was nervous about the actual FAA written but this app prepared me for it and I passed with no problems. I go to a flight university and have recommended it to several other friends who also passed.

It is worth its money.... So, today I took my written, private rotorcraft helicopter. This app was the only test-prep material I bought. So, when you compare spending $10 instead of $40ish, which is the next available option (from what I was able to find), it seems like a good deal. And it works! (I got 97% on the test)

Good, but could be better. It's very hard to work the problems needing graphs or charts in the iPhone UI, though that's not ASA's fault. My biggest gripe is that this will only let you do the questions in 60 question intervals. There's no way to go over all of the questions in a certain section without buying the desktop software. This form of study is very helpful, so you might want to just get the desktop version if you're like me...

Perfect Study Tool. Covers all units and provides questions & explanations on all questions. One of the best tools for studying!! Definitely worth the price.

Best App for Private Pilot Written. This app helped me ace my private pilot written. The price is a bit hefty considering the cheaper (and frankly almost as good) alternatives. But, it gets the job done well.

Good app. This definitely helped me get a 95 on my knowledge test.. I could study wherever and whenever I wanted to. The biggest thing they need to fix is the stability. It's frustrating when you do 10 questions and the app crashes, forcing you to start over.

Helicopter & Glider. Airplane, Helicopter & Glider questions are included in their own section.

You will pass the written exam with just this.. 95%

I can study anywhere!. This application is great! It's inexpensive, accurate, and a great study tool. Way to go ASA!

Passed. This is a great app for the written all the questions come out of the app and helped pass my written with an 82 highly recommended!!

Great App!. Got my hands on this app recently and found it to be comprehensive. It will come in handy as I study for my BFR while on the road. I highly recommend it.

Incomplete questions and answers.. Many questions and answers are missing parts, provably to make them shorter. Looks like this app focuses more on training you only to identify the right multiple choice answer of your test with little regards for you actual understanding of the subject, the question, or the answer.

crashes. I found nothing that sets this $9.99 app apart from its less-expensive competitors except for lower-product quality. Right now the app is broken on my phone - it wont exit out of a quiz. When I click the "exit" button the main menu displays but then it crashes. Often times the app crashes when I return after taking a phone call. Questions with tables do not display well - the table is unreadable. The app gets confused when switching between landscape and portrait. If you go landscape in a figure then back to the question, then back to portrait, the screen becomes garbled. I expected higher quality from ASA.

Student Pilot: Thanks for the quick FIX!. My FAA exam is next week, and the last update 2 days ago RUINED this program. But you listened and fixed it quickly, thank you! This is once again the best study aid for any FAA exam!

Great App!!!. Passed the first time I took the PP exam! Prepware's instant feedback mechanism, and approach to topical learning gave me a great sense of confidence going into take the test!

CFII. This is a great study tool. I often encourage my students to get it on their iPad so they always have it with them, especially my ForeFlight users. Weather holds, FBO breaks, and just sit around time are great opportunities to have it handy. It will encourage them to ask me questions about some of the subject matter so I can clear up any foggy areas. I would give the fifth star if it had the ability to email test results to me and "Correct Answer Only" study sessions.

Great App!!. Great App!!! This App prepared me to take my Private Pilot written test. Every question on my FAA test was covered in this App... Scored a 92 and couldn't be happier.. Great job ASA for delivering a great product at an amazing price!
