It is a great app. I really like the customization features but I wish it had more words. You know what else that would be great; if you can have multiple languages, ie English/Spanish. I would have given it 5 stars if it had more words.

Super 5. This is an excellent app. I particularly like how you can differentiate the level to make it harder or easier by changing the settings. For My students learning English it is also great for vocabulary development.

Great app. My 2 year old is able to move the letters to the corresponding letter position below the picture and enjoys it.

Grasshopper little speller. Love that you can customize the list of spelling words and have words for different children. This is exactly what we needed and more!

Great app!. This is a terrific teaching tool!! The pictures are sharp, clear, and uncluttered. The hints and sounds that I can turn off and on make it easily customizable for different levels/children. The only improvement I would suggest is to have an edit where you could put in the sounds the letters make as the word is respelled. Perhaps it's there already and I just couldn't figure it out.

Customize with your own voice!. I especially like that I can record my voice instead of the generic voice. For example, every time Levi has an "L" my voice says "L like in Levi" and all the reward sounds are fun and animated and meaningful to him in a voice he knows and loves.

Grasshopper apps are the best! Awesome for kids with autism.. I get all of the Grasshopper apps, because they've taught my child with autism things I'd been trying to teach her for years. Would be great for any child trying to learn new words, or having trouble spelling.

Little speller. I like this game. I would like to have the option to set it to say the letter sound instead of the letter name.

Great App. I love this app. My only suggestion is when the letter is dragged to it's place, it would be great if it said the letter sound rather than the letter name. Then after the word is spelled correctly, instead of it saying the letter name, it would be nice if it to said the letter sound, then read the whole word. Maybe this could be a setting option. Can't wait to use it with my students.

Cool. Like how it says the word and the letters when u touch them. Great for younger kids and kids with disabilities.

Great for 6 yr old. This app is so helpful to my 6 year old with his spelling words every week.

Add letter sounds. After the word and picture are presented, it would be very beneficial if the letter sounds were produced, not just the letter name. This really pairs the phonics skills needed for reading.

Excellent. This app is perfect for beginners, who are learning letters and letter sounds. It helps kids form simple words.

Only one quibble. This app is very simple and clean and does a great job. It has many options to customize the game. However, I do wish it had the option to turn off the letters in the boxes where you put the letter blocks. In other words, it would be great to have the word picture, audible voice prompt, scrambled letter blocks and BLANK SPACES WHERE YOU PUT THE LETTER BLOCKS. This would give another level of difficulty and opportunity for learning.

Grows with your learner. I love that you can match the letters for preschool children and modify it for children beyond preschool. I can also use this app for the children that I work with who are very motivated by letters. The pictures are not distracting and there are useless songs . Will recommend to other parents and professionals in my field.

Should be okay but so bad. It should be an easy app, but they screwed it up so bad. The main issue is that no matter what letter you pick up first it will say the first letter of the word. For example in the word Car if you pick up the R it will always say C. So pretty useless

Very easy to use. Love the simplicity of the settings. Also like the idea it can be expanded to up to 6 letter words. Super app thank you.

Little Speller. I think this will work well with my first graders. I needed to turn off the letters so that it did not show how to spell the word at the bottom. It will be fun to customize it with their spelling words.

Nice app!. I have purchased a number of apps from this group, and I am really impressed by the functionality of most of them. They tend to be bright and engaging with good quality photos. I would like this app to require the word to be spell in sequence rather than just allowing for matching to the letters.

Good app. As a teacher, I would like to see the sounds being said when it reads the words. My first graders need to hear the sounds blended together before they can spell.

Teacher. I would love to have the option to hear the letter sounds as you spell the word instead of the letter name. Other than that, I like it.

Really good app. So flexible, able to use my own phonetic pronunciation of each individual letter so I can be sure my child is hearing the letter sounds correctly as he is practicing using them. Love the flexibility! The simplicity of the design for the kiddos usage is great. Not particularly frilly, but still fun and very educational.

Great for free, could use some tweaks though. I got this for my 7 year old to study for his spelling tests. There are so few apps that you can customize with your own words(I have only found two!) I think it would do better with my younger son, and it never 'completes' a list, it just keeps going. Also u have to go into settings to turn on or off the lists of words you want to use, it would be easier if it had the list options on the main menu. But for now it seems to interest them.

Awesome. This app is great! My daughter loves it, and never wants to put it down. She is not only learning to spell but to read also!

A good little letter matching game. Similar to First Words by Learning touch. Some of the sounds and the rate at which they are given overlap each other during the play. Also when the letters spell out the word and hop out of their soot, they don't always hop back in. Overall a good pre school and K level app.

Love it. Great for beginning spelling & you can even make it more difficult with longer words. Love all the customization that can be done by adding your own voice or even different words. Has both visual & audio reinforcement and even how to spell the actual words.

Frozen app. Liked the customization. Freezed on me twice after the initial installment. Would not move automatically to the next spelling word, had to keep going back to the home page. Wrong word said to a different picture. Had to reset and that made me lose all my customization. It's back to normal now and my preschooler seems to like it. Thank you for the free app.

Fun and educational. Great app! My 3 and 5 year old love it! They play all the time....during their fun iPhone time and learning iPhone time. Great way to introduce reading and spelling. Fun pics and good variety. One suggestion is to do rhyming words on order so kids can learn that for rhyming words you only change the first letter. Makes it easier to learn lots of words.

So good I wish there was more.... I have enjoyed using this app, good for both my adult and pediatric patients (I'm a speech therapist). I like it so much I wish there were 4+ letter words as well... Please expand!!

Super app!. My grandson has recently shown an interest in putting letters together to form words, so this couldn't have come at a better time! He loves it!

Slower. I wish the word would stay on the screen longer or until the user was ready to go to the next slide.

A keeper!. This is a great guided spelling app! It's easy to use and the customization option allows you to build your own vocabulary set. Would like to see a "previous" and "next" button added to the program, just to speed things up a bit.

Wow!. I absolutely recommend this app to teachers/parents. While it's called 3 letter words, your can actually add in your own photo and words longer than 3 letters (on choose any I had "Brianna"- 7 letters! I made a word set for my daughter of family & friend pictures and their names. I will also be making sets for my classroom, with the weeks vocabulary words... I can take a picture and have the spelling and even a definition... What a great app, I love the customization features, especially to be able to turn lists on or off. It would be nice to be able to turn words on or off within a list rather than having to delete them...

Love it!. We love this app! 19 month old girl can spell! Unlike many puzzle apps that need to be in the exact spot to catch the piece, this app catches letters when it is close or even headed in the right direction! Easy for little fingers that are still learning!

Great!. I'm a teacher and this works great with my first graders. It's another way for them to learn not just using paper and pencil. They love it and it makes me happy to see them like learning. I love this app thank you Little Speller.!

It's worth it -just try it. What a great concept. My 5 and 2 1/2 yr olds love it. I like the fact that you can customize your own list. It hasn't crashed on me, but if you back up your data it shouldn't be a problem to restore what you added. I just wish they had photos to use for when you create your own list. I bought the 4 letter list but I made a 6 & 7 letter list from my kids homework. Great stuff. Lots of freedom and ability to turn on and off what you don't like.

Open-end Application. I didn't realize what I was getting when I downloaded this app--It's now my favorite! After recording over every sound, this program is entirely in my very own voice. It makes me feel so much better to hand over "The Mother Board," and my kids love hearing my voice. We customized affirmations, and even Dad chimed in. Great open-end opportunities in this FREE app!

Great app. Love this app! I wish it came with letter sounds preprogrammed rather than letter names, but I can easily edit the sounds to make the app do this.

Love it!. I surprised my 5 year old with this new app and she was so excited when she started playing it, especially when she her name and her siblings names popped up for her to spell! Not very good. The problem I found with this app is that it allows the child to enter the letters in the wrong order and then praises them for it. At school, they will have to do it in the right order so they should be doing it with this app.

Can't use the app. We are unable to use this app at the moment. The screen icon shows up faded and says "waiting". It won't download anything and it doesn't come up with a 'x' so I can't delete it either. Please help :)

Grandma. My grandson is only 19months old so the pictures don't hold his attention as much as animated graphics but it will be very beneficial as he gets older.

Good app. This is a good app with easy customization. You can set it to allow letters to be selected in any order - good for younger children or from left to right only - better for older school aged children. I like that there is a variety of praise phrases so the kids don't get bored with hearing "well done" over and over again. I use this app at work and the only thing I would add to it is the ability to indicate consonant and vowel in the letters by border on the tile or tile colour etc.

Blank screen. Installed and wanted to check out before purchasing full version. App worked a few times then just a blank screen. Not great reviews from your paid version. Waste of time...

I love this!. Great customizable app. The settings allow you to make it as hard or easy as you need so that your child can have fun learning to spell! (for instance you can allow young children just to match letters in any order or you can set the options so that spelling has to be in order) and you can turn hints on and off and record in your own accent or language.

The most engaging app ever!. I have struggled this year to engage my son & motivate him to do his spelling, but not anymore! Customized learning. Beautiful clear pictures plus sooo customizable! Select only some word sets i.e. only cvc (consonant, vowel, consonant) with the vowel "a". Like all the Grasshopper Apps you can modify a ton of settings including the list of words. We love adding our own pictures so the kids learn to spell common items in the their world. All of this in a free app is amazing!! The pop up is only only on the opening screen and is just for other great apps by this company. no problem with our sound but just contact them if I have an issue,their customer support is fast!

3 Letter Words. Great potential but too many glitches. The letters are often over top of each other and are hard to pull to their spot. Too difficult for a young child but easy for someone too old to be worried about three letter words. If the glitches were fixed I would love it. Nice pictures, great voice, and great concept! Get tech. on it!!!!

....... Some of the pictures that they choose to go with the words aren't really the best choices. For instance, the word cot is paired with a picture of a crib, the word 'can' is paired with a soda can. Also, it would be nice if they sounded out each letter as it is being selected and when saying the word.

Has serious bugs. This app crashes when I select new list. Great concept, but fell way short of expectations. I hoped to use it in my special Ed classroom, but the developers need to do some more work and fix the bugs first!

Not phonemic. Nice app, but would give it 5 stars if it gave u the option of saying the letter sounds instead of the names. Phonemic awareness is a precursor of reading, knowing the letter sounds is key.

Needs letter sounds when dragging into place.. I like the concept but does the creator know basic reading strategies for young readers. They read the sounds of letters, not the letter names. Google phonemic awareness!
