Best app for new hams!!. I just want to preface this that i usually never write reviews but this app was so helpful for me especially when combined with Michael Burnette’s “Fast Track” book for the technician class. The interface is super easy to use and syncs effortlessly with my phone and laptop. If you are looking for a one stop shop to study for your tech license I would look no further. Taking my exam tonight and already have my Generals book on the way. Stop reading reviews and get this app!!

Incredible app!. This app was the only resource I used to study for the Technician exam, and I feel 100% ready to take it! I keep getting consistent passing scores, and it’s 100% worth the $3.99 price tag. My only complaint is that once you complete a question in study mode and you hit next, sometimes you might click it again to make it load faster, but doing that will select an answer while the next question is below, but this doesn’t take away any stars for me.

Love this app and study methods. I love the ham study app and their study methods. I find it particularly helpful that I can create a custom bank of questions that I'm struggling with. I wouldn't have been able to pass the technician exam without this app and I have recommended it to all of the people that I know that are wanting to take the technician exam. Now that I have passed the tech exam I'm working on my general then extra. Thanks ham study for such a great product!

Excellent Study Resource. I bought the Gordon West study guide for technicians license and read that and used the app to study as I went along. The ability to sort the questions based on which study guide you are using is awesome! Once I finished the book and got to 99% apptitude with the app in study mode I then switched to practice tests in the app until I got consistently 95% or higher. I easily passed the actual exam and have now moved on to studying for my general license. The app makes studying so easy. It continues to give you questions you answered incorrectly until you get them right.

The best $4 you can spend to go from Tech to Extra. I just sat for my exams yesterday. I took all 3 in one sitting. I passed them all; in fact, my highest score was on the Extra, 92%. I started by using the free online version and found it extremely helpful. But then I decided to spend a few dollars to get the app on my phone. I found that I had a lot of free time when I was away from home, away from the computer, so I knew that this app could help me to study when I had free time to spare. The great thing about using the free online version along with this app is that it syncs your progress between both platforms. My background, I have no experience in engineering, and I would rate my math skills as being just average. If you are planning to get licensed, do not stop with just the technician and/or the general license. With this app, you can go from 0 to Extra if you are willing to put in the time and effort.

A great companion to the website. Has a very clean design that is really conducive to study and learning. There are some neat, nice-to-have, quality of life features here as well, but nothing that one couldn’t live without. That being said, if you don’t want to spend the money on this app, the website is functional and FREE: there is nothing wrong with it. I just considered this app to be akin to a (tiny!) donation to keep the great service going.

The Right App for Success. I recently attended a local Ham fest with a friend and one of the attendees told me about the Ham Study website with this partner app. I had already purchased the ARRL Technician study guide but went ahead and got this app too. It is worth every penny you pay for this app, that is if you want great study app that is accurate. I just took my technician test and passed with ease. Prepping for my General now. I would HIGHLY recommend this app if you are studying for any class of Ham license. You can’t go wrong.

Wonderful App. I used the website to pass my tech. I didn’t care much for the website as I’d spend more time logging in every time then studying questions. This app is wonderful! Syncing the online account seems to be impossible but I just started fresh (not logging in other then my apple account) and it has been great! I passed my general because of the great key word highlights and brief summary of questions I don’t understand. I’m 40% into the Extra pool and after that, this app even has the commercial license exam’s! WOW! What a great app! Even has the Canadian question pool! Absolutely worth the money!

Get your ticket. If your reading this you already on the right path. For a very long time I wanted to get into ham radio. But I never did. Life got in the way. But here I am at 50 years old and ready to go. So on the advice from a friend I bought the app and dived in. I jumped straight into a Technician test. Scored an 18. :(. Terrible!! In my free time I would go into a sample exam and see how I did. I got better and better answering the questions correctly. I never did use the study section. So today I scheduled a test and off I went. I had about 10 hours of study in. I got 31 out of 35 correct!!!!! It works!!

Most efficient way to prep for all levels…especially Extra. Used the HamStudy app for all tests, got perfect scores on the Tech and General, and missed only one question on the Extra. I’d recommend actually learning all material for the Tech and General with the ARRL books (in addition to using this fantastic app) as most of the material is directly applicable to the everyday operation of the radio. But the Extra is more like a bar exam, full of largely useless information. For the Extra, I simply drilled one element a day for several weeks with this app, never, ever looking at the wrong answers/distractors and used no other resources to prepare. Excellent, non-glitchy interface. Highly recommended.

I only used this app ... and passed. This app and the material in it works. I only used this app to study, and I just passed my technician test. I studied for one week, and I took a day off here and there. I did the review for a few hours at first before taking the practice exams, then mostly took the exams again and again. I took the real exam online, and it was exactly like the practice exams in the way the questions appeared, how you choose them, and moving on to the next question. Honestly, the online checks from the volunteer examiners took longer than the actual exam. I took maybe 12 minutes to finish the exam, and my comfort level was purely from using this app. It was well worth the small purchase price

Great app! Helped me learn. I used this app for about a couple of weeks when I was studying for my Technician license. I really like how the app re-asks questions you get wrong to help reinforce the correct response. I also like the analytics that show aptitude percentage in specific areas as well as overall aptitude. Lastly, I like how this app syncs with the HamStudy website. When I took the real technician exam, I had absolutely zero test anxiety and I passed on the first try. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to get into ham radio. 73

Worth Every Penny!. Bottom-line up front, I installed the exam prep app on my phone, used it 4 hours/day for 3 consecutive days. On the 4th day, I passed both my Technician and General, and I scored over 50% on the Extra (which I hadn’t studied at all for). This app is the only reason I was able to do this. More specifically, the crowd-sourced explanations that accompany every practice question were instrumental. I’m horrible at rote memorization, and the explanations helped me learn the material and understand the answers rather than just memorize them. Before taking the exam, I had not read, and I still have not read, any Ham books. I don’t even have a Ham radio—although on the day of the exam I joined my local club and I now have a handheld on the way. I suppose I should probably read a book or two now, too! Lol I highly recommend that you use this app, and be sure to read the explanations as you practice the questions. Understanding the material (not just memorizing the questions/answers) will give you a huge advantage in the exam.

The BEST Test-Prep App for Amateur Radio. Fulfilling a long time dream of mine became a reality thanks to this handy app. I was able to study anytime I had a free moment and track my progress with ease. Each question presented has an explanation button that provides the information related to the correct answer, making it a breeze to understand the material. The app has a great interface and is worth the download. After 2 weeks of studying I passed both my Technician and General license tests in one shot. Thanks!

General. I have purchased two different study manuals. To be fair one expired before I got to it. The other I never had handy when I had time. So I bought this App and since I have my phone with me most of the time I had no trouble studying during lunch break or any other free period. I got my General upgrade using this app and I will get my extra at some point with this app. I recommend HamStudy.

From zero to extra in no time. This app is a brilliant tool for studying for the exams, it helped me to work out what I needed to study. The best feature in my opinion is if you get a question wrong during study mode, it will ask it again later. I started to use this and in a few days got my tech, a few months later I passed the general. Now I am using this to work towards the extra.

Best Prep tool available. Using this application along with reading the technical submissions associated with the questions, will prepare you to easily take the licensing exams. I used this tool for all three tiers of the licenses. I blew through the tests and scored very well. You do need to put in the time and let the tool guide you to focus on areas it identifies as lacking. Put it on you phone and computer. Launch the software every chance you get and keep at it. Repetition, repetition, repetition is the secret to success. Buy this app. (BTW - This group also sells Signal Sticks for HTs - Another great purchase)

Fantastic!!. Used this to study for my extra class. Studied hard for a few months and was able to pass my test today no problem. Only missed 2 questions, one was my fault for not paying attention (answer was very similar to the wrong answer). Best 3 dollars I ever spent!!! Thank you for putting this together. Wish this was as around 30 years ago when I first became a ham at 13 years old.

BLOWN AWAY!. I thought I had studying mastered with a flashcard app that I was using. I thought that this app would be a poorly thrown together flashcard engine with very little customization but the developer. I thought all wrong. This maybe the first time I've ever written a review for an app. THIS APP IS AMAZING! It is 100% better than the flashcard app that I was using, and that involved building the question databases MYSELF! This app is aesthetically beautiful, the layout and flow is simple, and the functionality is genius. I can't believe how much this app has helped my studying! I LOVE IT!

Amazing app. Absolutely amazing app. I used the website to pass my tech, now I’m using the app to pass my general. The way the app highlights key words is helping me tremendously. My only complaints, a night mode would be great. Also when studying flash cards a “I don’t know button” would be helpful. Sometime I genuinely have no clue so I just tap the screen and I happen to hit the right one, then I worry I won’t see that question again. Otherwise, thanks for the great app! Update: the dev added the idk button. Also passed my general, which I give 100% credit to this app. Thanks again.

Passed every exam!. There’s no reason anyone should fail a Amateur Radio Exam if you study using this app. I passed my Technician & General both during one sitting and went back later and passed my Extra. It was all due to this app. The app has a sense of intelligence, drilling down on the material that it finds you are struggling with. The study mode and practice exams really help prepare you for the actual exam. The “explain” tab that shows up on questions missed in study mode provides explanations and hints to help you remember the correct answers. If you put forth the effort and use this app, you will pass! Hands down the best app to prepare for the Amateur Radio exams!

Where have you been all my life!!!. This app is absolutely amazing! I downloaded the Kindle ARRL study guide and read it. Then I ordered the spiral bound book and read it completely. Each was better than the other and I highly recommend you do one or the other. This app is far and beyond the best way to prepare for the test. It’s like flash cards on steroids. Choose the answer, if you’re wrong, hit the explain button and you get a very clear explanation. I can’t say enough good things about this app. Well done guys!

Awesome App!. Ham Study is the sure fire way to pass any of the exams. It literally hammers the info into your head. I found the best way to study was to find a test date about 2 weeks down the road. Get the HamStudy app and try to spend an hour a day with it. At the end of each hour, take a practice test. Keep tract of how much material you e covered and your aptitude. after about 8 or 9 days you ‘ll have seen Every question on the test. Now keep going; work on your aptitude. Once you e gotten into the high 80%, you are close to being ready. Keep studying until the last day. You’ll pass the test.

Best App by Far!. I used multiple purchased apps to study for my General, then once i become proficient started working on my Extra before taking the General test. I downloaded HamStudy to study for the Extra class license and after using it for a couple weeks decided to go back and go through the General on HamStudy because I found the study methods so much more effective and wanted to increase my proficiency even further. I wish I had started with HamStudy it’s such an excellent well designed app and study tool. I am now ready to pass both exams once testing sessions are being offered again in my area. The app will help you get up to speed to pass your test(s) in the most efficient way.

Best so far. Started with another app and quickly found out that the video portion was simply a person reading the text that I already studied. That didn’t help at all when I needed more detailed explanations. The HamStudy flash cards with explanations on the back are much more useful! The app and website are very user friendly and I feel confident I’m going to pass on my first try. The companion online book is an easy read and compliments the app perfectly. Many thanks to the folks who put so much into this and charging so little! Highly recommended!

Want to Pass Your Exam? This is the Way!. I used the HamStudy app on my iPhone and iPad. I passed the Technician exam, and later the General exam. I studied a lot, and I used all features of the app. If I did not understand something I researched it on the internet. Again, the app was my main tool. When I felt comfortable, and after passing 30 practice exams using the app only missing zero, one or two questions out of 35 I then setup an exam date. I studied up to exam day. I selected an exam session though HamStudy, and tested using Columbia University ARC VE Team online exam. They are a wonderful group. I hope this helps you to become an Amateur Radio operator (Ham). It is an exciting hobby as well as a serious back up communications tool to help your Community, i.e. missing child search, disasters, SkyWarn, and so much more! Update - 09March2021, I passed the Amateur Extra exam! The sky is the limit. You can do this too at any age. Good luck! 73 Gary

No way to know you are ready to test. I’m a physician and test taking and studying are in my blood. Because your testing history cannons be fully cleared, you never really know when you are ready to test, even when you start a new session. You can spend far too long continuing to study, therefore. The review results are unclear as to the morning of the graphs, and there is no real good grasp of what their “aptitude” rating means. Don’t waste your time. The developers have pooh-poohed these complaints in their firm and won’t provide options to clear your testing slate or define their terms in the app or website, wish I hadn’t purchased, since it’s all about perpetuating their app.

Only study guide you need. At first look I thought this was a bad design. I mean I’ve never seen a study guide that worked like this one. But in less than 24 hours of using it off and on I started with the practice tests and after doing 25-30 practice tests I’ve passed every single one. While I’m not sure you learn a ton on the subject you do learn the questions. I dont think there is anything that could prepare you better for this test.

Ace’d it!!. I poured over the App Store and web browsers and there is a lot offered out there for Amateur (HAM) Radio study / test prep. I found this one to be the easiest to interface with, clear to read and understand instructions and well............... it just worked and I liked it the best. If you wanna avoid what I did and but other things that are not as good it’s a waste of time. Get to studying with this app you’ll be far ahead. I used this app almost exclusively and got a 100% on my technician ticket. I’m gonna get right to study for my general since it’s all fresh in my head and now I know I’ve have no problem with this tool!

Excellent: Quick thorough study. Bought this app b/c thirty days to study and pass test. Easy to use, feedback loop makes its use addictive and fun. Most importantly, the explanations enable one to understand how to arrive at the answer using one’s own reasoning (vs. rote learning of Q&A). And the explanations are written by people. I feel as though behind each one is a grizzled Ham operator with their hand on my shoulder, drawing me a picture even I can understand. One answer actually points out that the question omits a key element that would enable reasoning one’s way to the answer. Another tells you that 80% of students get this question wrong because they fail to look at key information supplied in the multiple choice answers. Doing the test portion is great: progress is tracked, and you are given the option of studying only questions in the sections in which you scored lowest.

What a Great Tool!. I successfully completed testing for my Extra and HamStudy was key. I completed the book I purchased for the license and then started with this service. A test a day and reviewing questions got me ready in about 2 months. The study and test modes worked great and the ability to sync between my devices worked flawlessly. Also, the I found the explanations by the community was really helpful. Will be using this again when my kids want to get their tech.

Awesome app!. This app does an excellent job of running you through the questions pool. If you get a question wrong, it tells you the correct answer and offers an explanation. It will cycle the questions that you got wrong back into the mix until you get them correct a few times. After using this for a while, it suggested focusing on my weak points, which I did. This app, alongside of the ARRL study book, made passing my technician class test much easier. I will be using this to study for the General class test. You will not regret paying a few $ for this app.

Moving up. I have been using this on my iPhone and my PC. The approach is a bit different on each and I like that. I had bought a book on Tech, that had a link to practice questions, which I got 90% correct. Then I was told about this, and I flunked my first two tests! What I really like is how it shows my weaknesses as well as my strengths. I did pass the Tech with an 85%. Now I’m using it for the General and it’s a tough go for me because I haven’t been around this stuff for 50 years. I’m slowly “getting it”, and it’s because of the way they present the material. I’m working on the Extra a bit while I’m at it just in case I can luck out and get to take that one too. I’m going for it in a couple of weeks.

The best money I've spent on my ham radio education. Absolutely amazing instructional design. The structure of the interface makes it super easy for you to understand where you're at in your learning experience. The choices made for the content of the Explain tab are nothing short of genius, as is the clarity around concepts worth understanding vs. stuff you just need to memorize. Makes studying fun satisfying, and something you can do whenever you have a minute or two out in the world. Huge thanks to the HamStudy team!

Excellent!. Don’t waste your time and money on any of the other apps, books or study guides out there. I used Ham Study to pass the Technician, General and I aced the Extra yesterday. This app lets you review each set of questions and shows you only the correct answer or you can select quiz mode and it will show you the questions and multiple choice answers just as they appear on the exam. It took me about 2 months of daily practice with this app to pass the Extra. As I got closer to test day I started using Ham Study practice exams daily and was consistently getting 47 (or higher) out of 50 correct.

BUY THIS APP! If you want to get licensed. I recently decided to get my amateur radio license and ordered books to study. I normally like to read physical books so I can highlight and make notes in the margins. While waiting on the books to arrive I found Hamstudy and liked the way it worked so I bought the app. By the time the books arrived I realized that Hamstudy was all I needed. I originally planned to get just the Technician level but with COVID and the difficulty I had finding an exam session I had time to study for the others as well while waiting for my test date. I passed all 3 tests in one session and other than an occasional Wikipedia search I exclusively used this app and their website to study. I cannot find a high enough rating for this app. It’s all you need! I highly recommend clicking the corner of each question and reading the explanations. Sometimes they are quite technical and lengthy and other times they just offer hints and tips for remembering the correct answer but always helpful. Great App Hamstudy! KB5TUV. Thank you! After being inactive in ham radio for over 20 years I decided to help my husband dust off the radio gear and get involved again. My husband saw you on Ham Radio Crash Course on You Tube. He bought your app even though he was already an extra class licensee and after he checked it out I thought I would give it a try so I could upgrade my license. I purchased your app August 24th and successfully upgraded from a Tech Plus licensee to a General class license on September 14th and then to Amateur Extra on Oct 26th!! The app is easy to use and has great features, especially with having explanations and tips for each question and the ability to take practice exams. Thank you!!!

Perfect. Well set up and put together. Focuses on questions you get wrong so you learn them quickly. I knew nothing about radios/ham/fcc laws going into this. This app got me to pass my technician class test on the first try with ease…. Now thinking about studying the general class and going for that test next. Highly recommend! 4 bucks well spent! I spend more on coffee in the morning than I did for this app. If your reading this. Just stop and get it. You won’t regret it.

Excellent review tool. I spent a week or so with an excellent study book which helped me gain necessary knowledge. But as to review, this app blows away the competition. It allows you to review the questions and answers together. You can get an explanation for any question you don’t understand. You can take quizzes on each section, and of course take practice exams. You can review the questions after an exam. The app lets you know which areas you were weakest in. One of the best apps of any kind. Definitely the best app for preparing for ham radio license tests. Bravo!

I aced my General Exam because of HamStudy. I had previously used another app to study for the Tech exam and I got two wrong. I couldn’t understand how that could happen because I had memorized everything. As I studied for the General using the same app I started realizing a few of the answers were WRONG. Typos were everywhere in the study sections and practice test sections, and then I found on one question that the answer in both A and C were identical. I paid for HamStudy and don’t regret it one bit. I got 100% on my General exam and that was the best 30-some-odd-bucks I could have spent. Don’t waste your time on a free program with errors. If you are struggling through a test and you answer questions with “wrong” answers, not because you didn’t study hard enough but because you studied to perfection and memorized incorrect answers, that is just cruel and unusual punishment. Pay the bucks, get the right answers and pass your exam the first time.

Absolutely the best, most effective app to get your license.. This was the only app or resource I used, or needed to use, to go from zero to just today earning my Extra license class over the course of about five months. The app’s feature set is perfect: in addition to the pool questions for every exam, there are very helpful explanations, hints, and links for each and every question. The spaced repetition for answers you get right, and the more immediate recurrence of the questions you miss, also help greatly to get your understanding dialed in. The Practice Exam feature lets you know with confidence when you’re really ready to take the next element exam. There’s literally nothing I could suggest to improve the app, and it would be a bargain at ten times its price.

Only app you need. I'm studying for my general using this app. I was very frustrated inn the beginning that I was missing questions left and right. After a little more than a week of an hour a day, I must've hit a critical mass of questions and everything clicked. Currently getting 100%'s on practice exams. Pro tip: use the practice exams to gage your progress but focus your energy on the study questions. You get instant feedback which helps much more than the exam.

Glad I bought. Sad I waited.. Purchased solely because it was an easy way to support ARRL, who are more than generous with their online study guide and their over all Elmerness. It behooved me to show my monetary support so I bought the app and man it is slick. The ARRL manual along with Ham Study plus some work and I now have an understanding of how radio works, which I (and I’m smart imho) just assumed was beyond my comprehension, as well as electronic components and basic electricity, which I just feel silly for not learning sooner. Suffice to say I’m now highly overqualified to operate an FPV quadcopter.

Outstanding review app. The app reviews the ENTIRE question pool, as opposed to only random 35 question samples in practise exams. This is a much more comprehensive approach than practice exams which test only 11 % of the question pool. Use is fast and direct with immediate feedback. The results of practice tests provide feedback and targeted learning of missed questions. Have to toss in a positive note for the Hamstudy ebook, the companion text: clear and precise, straight to the point. Waiting for the next volume to be published and I hope that it's very soon.

Excellent App to Pass your HAM Test.. Thank you for making this app. This is an excellent app to study for the HAM radio test. I started studies with your website and downloaded this app because of convenience for using it anywhere. I was able to pass my General within 3 weeks of using your website and this app. I highly recommend anyone to use this for your Ham studies. Update: I was able to pass my Extra after 2 month of getting my Genaral using this same app. Thanks again.

Worth it. Fantastic app that exceeded my expectations. Whoever made this knew what they were doing when it came to UI/UX. Seems like each time I want a feature it exists and is accessible and intuitive to use. Which is… very satisfying. To name a few examples: options for focusing the questions being asked in study mode, feedback on weak spots after a practice exam, detailed explanations are available after answering questions (whether answered correctly or not). If you’re studying this material, this app is well worth getting.

Crushed it. I used only the hamstudy app for my tech exam and absolutely crushed it. Finished in like 3 minutes with a 34/35 (rushed through a question a should have got correct). Added bonus is the ‘explain’ option actually provides enough info around the content to gain some understanding but not too much info to become overwhelming or burdensome so I actually learned a lot. The app is easy to use, intuitive and in the context of ham radio, is lightyears ahead of most ham radio related software. I can’t recommend this app enough, best $ spent in a LONG time. Using it now to study for my general... Jan 9th 2022 EDIT: Just got a 35/35 on the general. Used only the hamstudy app for a few days. Absolutely brilliant app. Thanks gents. New Tricks for Old Dogs!. So I’m in my late 60’s and get a minor bite from the ham bug. Once I understood what I was up against, I chose HamStudy for my online tutoring. After a solid month of using HamStudy, my progress had plateaued at 95% aptitude. I just completed my in person technician exam this past weekend and scored 94%. Each of the VE’s onsite complimented me on getting 33 correct answers out of 35. I think the most useful feature of HamStudy is the study sessions. So many helpful tips included along with the literal explanations of the correct answers. Expect an order for an antenna in the future! Thank You!

This is all you need to get any license level. I really appreciate the work and care that’s gone into this. Each question has an explanation and most questions have a memory device to help you when you take the test. I especially appreciate that it’s a one time purchase and not a subscription. I was able to study for my extra class license with no internet on a plane. Well and easily worth the money and you can tell the developers care about helping you get licensed an on the airwaves. amazing app. Just passed my tech and general today at 16 knowing nothing about ham radio since only three weeks ago, only missed 1 question between the two. The app is extremely user friendly and the aptitude system is nice if a little conservative. My only complaint is that some of the user inputted hints are pretty terrible and could be easily replaced but not the apps fault. Will be using on my extra :)

Major bug noticed. EDIT: This issue seems to have been resolved as of version 2.0.0. No complaints! When you first download this app, it launches and works great. First study session was a good experience, well designed app that works for my learning style. Unfortunately, after closing the app (from the initial launch post install), it doesn’t seem to work when re opened. The main screen appears, but none of the buttons work and the app freezes up. If the developers need more information, I’m happy to provide it.

Excellent Study Aid. I used this app to complement my studying for the Canadian Basic Qualification exam and it was excellent. I passed today with an 88%. Being able to do a mix of practice tests and just go through possible questions is helpful. The explanations are usually pretty good for helping when you get something wrong or don’t know.l the answer. Seeing your weak areas and being able to focus on them is also helpful for more efficient studying.

I used this app for 2 weeks and tested and missed only one and was the first to hand my test in. This one works.

Encourage all my friends to use. This is an excellent app for preparing for a test. I used it to pass tech and general in the same test day, and I am using it still to pass amateur extra. I have multiple friends who are looking to get their ticket for the first time and I have recommended this app to them, they love it and agree it’s the best app out there.

With the help of HamStudy, Passed all three!. I bought the HamStudy app just over 3 weeks ago to explore whether I wanted to study for my Ham license. Through the helpful study exercises and the practice exams, I was able to pass my Technician, General, and Extra tests this afternoon. I aced the first two, and got 94% on the Extra. Highly recommend.

Great value. I know the content is free on the web, but this app is well-made and easy to use. I love that it is just a small one-time fee and not a subscription. The app makes it easy to study whenever I have a free minute or two.

Great study guide.... Technician, General, Amateur Extra Class....I used Ham Study for all three licenses. This app is great for learning, cross-referencing information and tracking progress. I love how it shows what areas you need more study in and what areas you are good with. Because of this app I have passed all three license exams. Makes ham exams a breeze. In the course of under a month, I went from no license, to technician, then I slowly studied for my general until last week when I kicked into gear, and 3 days after my general exam I passed my extra. I owe it all to HamStudy. This app is amazing. I guess I have to buy an HF rig now 😅.

Fantastic. Study for the exams, track your progress, sync across devices, dark mode, updates, this app is well designed and makes study time productive. I love that you can auto advance after answering, but can still swipe down to see the previous question for review. The explain feature is simply awesome. Highly recommend for studying for the amateur radio exams!

Gold standard in studying. The way I learn, I have found this the best way to absorb, comprehend, and memorize information. Not only are the questions and answers exactly on the test, but the font and styling are a match on the actual exam as well, which to me make a difference in context continuity. This really is the way I was successful, including flipping the cards to review summary information, and links to dig deeper. Once I was confident taking the practice exams perfectly, I took the actual test in less than 10 minutes. I purposefully returned here to write this review to add my applause and success at completing the Technician exam at 100%. Other exam and study topics take note: this is the standard.

Outstanding App!. I have used several apps that are designed for test taking and this one is the very best app that I have ever used. It’s easy to use and very comprehensive with all the options you need to get ready for your test.

Great study aide. Fantastic helper and the only thing you need after reading the material in the study guide. Only thing I would like to see changed is the occasional loop of about 20 questions the are asked over and over during the study setting. It does not do that always but I have to close and reset the app to get the questions to vary

It works. Wow this thing really worked two weeks half an hour here and there, schedule the test and passed it on the first try. Money well spent and I did it all from my home off-line. Well done guys! I’m starting to study for the general test now I will post an update.

Best App for Amateur HAM exam study. This is one of the best HAM study app that is on the market. Very clean and usable user interface. Has multiple study modes with practice exams. Provided stats on weak areas. The exam questions are updated soon as the exam pool questions are updated. By far, the best app to speed up learning and passing your exams.

Great for Technician!. I loved the “Explain” option when you got a question wrong in the study mode. It really help me understand. However, I do not see that option for the General Class Exam questions. Am I missing something?

Great Software. 2 weeks ago, I barely knew what a ham radio was. I’ve been studying using this material and I’ve been absorbing the information very well. Initially thought it was going to be nothing more than sheer memorization, but that’s not true. I’m actually beginning to get a baseline for how amateur radio works. Still a lot to learn, but this software is as effective as everyone proclaims

Easy and fun. I wasn't expecting much when I downloaded this app, but it's a great way to study for the test quickly. It's very well designed. The way it brings back questions you are having trouble with helps you learn quickly. Also the hints are well written and clever.

Not just great for amateur radio exams…. But would be great for preparing for any exam with a known question pool - the only thing missing is an API for submitting and updating those questions and explanations. I aced my Technician exam using this as my primary study tool, and am on the road to doing well on the General. Thanks for a quality product and platform!

Excellent learning app. This is a great app as it has a feature where it elaborates on the correct answer and gives helpful learning tips. This is a big benefit over other apps. It has practice tests and different study modes. I highly recommend it!

Passed the Extra after a week of study. The HamStudy app took me from “maybe I’ll try to get the Extra license” to “Extra license holder” in seven days. I passed with 44/50. Do I really understand everything in the test? No. Did I heavily rely on mnemonics and memory palace techniques to memorize the answers? Yes. Am I an extra now? Yes! Could I have done it without this app? No.

Almost aced Technician and General. Got my Technician and General. Many hours studying, but I scored 36/37 on both tests. This app is the main reason why. Make a study plan and execute it well. It’s not easy memorizing 400+ technical , at least for most people, especially my bad memory.

Essential for passing the Extra Class Amateur Radio exam.. After 40 years decided to re up for my ham license. Ham Study app did the trick in helping this old man to pass the online remote Technician, and General class tests and a week later passed the Extra class exam. Now to decide if I want to change my Callsign.

Got My General. This app is the sole thing I used to get my General License. Not only does it have all the questions for every element, but also explains the answers. It will help you remember questions that you missed and there are endless practice tests. I would extremely recommend this app.

Try it! You’ll like it!. I was told to try this program by a friend who used it to pass his General exam. At first I was skeptical but he said to stick with it for a day or two. Soon I found I was easily recalling the correct answers to every question. This program is effective and you can test yourself to see your improvements over time.

Amateur Extra Made Possible. I honestly don’t thinking I would ever be able to pass the AE exam. The practice tests determined what needed to be studied (everything) and the flash cards did the trick! I studied Day and night (not really) until I was able to pass the practice tests consistently. I scheduled my test online with GLAARC and passed. I only missed 4 questions….. Now I’m an Amateur Extra Class HamOperator. Thank you Ham Study! de W2RIF/AE

Amazing resource. The Ham Study app was invaluable in helping me study for and pass my Technician and General exams in just a couple of weeks. It was so worth the money to have the app track my progress and drill me on my weakest areas. The explanations are excellent and contain great hints to remember the right answer.

Great app for studying the question pools.. Be ready when you go to the test. This is the best way I hav found to prepare. You still have to study hard but this helps you focus. It will show you what you don’t know while you still have time to learn. Great job to the team that built and supports this app!

Best app!. I tried a couple of different apps for preparing for my technician and general class exams and this was definitely my favorite. Well laid out, no glitches that I came across, and the explanations are definitely a huge plus!

Great option for testing.. I love this app. I started out online but I like the app much better. I was able to pass no problem as well as get a great understanding of the subject. Highly recommend spending the few bucks and getting this app.

Excellent app for memorization and success at testing. Used this app to get 35/35 on my technician test. Very well set up app. Just go through the reading materials and utilize the quizzes. I used this for a week and passed my technician with 100 percent score.

Very well done. Highly recommended as a supplement for anyone looking to obtain or upgrade their Amateur ticket. One star lost because I originally bought this for my son, only to find that it would install but not run on his iPad mini. It’s a moot point now, as the current version requires iOS 10, but at the time of my purchase only iOS 9 was required.

Wonderful app for first time HAM licensee. Downloaded the HamStudy app last year in December and ran through both the app and the website’s flash cards. The view modes were greatly helpful in drilling down areas I wasn’t as solid on. Thanks to the HamStudy cards, I managed to get my Technician License the same month and am now working on General.

Easiest way to get your license!. This is by far the easiest way to study for the test needed to obtain your license. It’s well made, comprehensive, and contains little explanations for each of the answers to help you learn more. You’re going to have to spend $15 to take the test, so the cost of this app isn’t much more, and will save you a ton of time and effort in studying.

This is the best study guide. I used this program to study for my General class, I was so confident when I went to take the exam that I knew I would pass because all the practice in the program. I easily passed General. Highly recommend this method

Excellent App!. I used this app to study for and pass all three exams - Technician, General, and Extra. It has robust and effective features, including tracking incorrect and “I Don’t Know” responses to bring back later again and again until mastery.

Passed. I spent a week studying for the Technician Exam and a week studying for the General Exam with this app. Took both in the same sitting and passed both with a 34/35. Couldn’t have done it without it. Just go through the study section first to ensure you see all questions. Then start taking tests until you are comfortable with them.

Awesome app for learning QUICK & passing ham exams. I used the web version to get my Tech license. My wife got hers after using it for just a couple of hours. The app is even better than the site. Got my General a couple weeks ago and actually learned the material- highly recommended.

This is the BEST app!. I turned to HamStudy after making little progress elsewhere. My progress and retention were unbelievable, and within a few weeks I was ready for my General exam. How did it turn out? Not one wrong answer. I cannot recommend this strongly enough as the perfect tool for getting prepared for your exams.

Passed the extra class exam. I used this app exclusively for studying for the exam and passed it the first time. I did not use any other study aids or material. I used the “cram mode” and crammed for about nine hours before the exam. I’m very happy with the format and the ability to rate the difficulty of each question to better pinpoint areas needed for study.
