Great Game. As a mechanical engineer, I enjoy relaxing with this game. The FEA view is great to help minimize stress. More levels would be great, but I still enjoy reducing old answers to reduce cost of my structures.

Makes a mockery of physics simulation. Exactly identical drawings can perform completely differently depending on the mere order in which individual members are drawn, despite being otherwise perfect duplicates. In addition, if you search online for a 3-star solution to the truck crane, you’ll find that a 3-star rating can be gained by the most ridiculous design you’ll ever see.

Addictive, fun problem solving builder. I was trying to explain what physics is to my friends son, and though this is more "engineering" than physics, it helped him understand and I was able to teach him some basic engineering principles. We were all addicted and playing until well after bedtime. The actual physics in the game is a little strange and sometimes glitchy so that bad solutions can score the win with minimal expenditure but this also creates an environment that encourages you to think outside the box and solve the problems in unexpected ways.

Very good. From a physics point of view, this game is great in that you can figure out the weaknesses and whether or not the structure will hold. The directions for each level use US units of lb. while the testing function uses SI units of Newtons, making it difficult to know whether or not the structure will hold the applied force. I used a unit converter (I know it's just a game, but I thought it would be fun to accurately test the structure), but I think it would be better to make the units consistent. Rather than make other physics games, I think you could build more on this app and add levels as well as other fun games. Overall though it's a great game!

You will love this game. If you enjoyed bridge basher you will love this. The developer of the app even has a website to suggest new levels and he listens to customer feedback. Simple physics is amazing and has so many more things than bridge basher. You design blueprints for tree houses double decker tree houses ferris wheels bomb shelters sky scrapers stair cases and more. The app was only out for like a month and already had about 4 updates it doubled the amount of levels and added a new test mode. This game is better than any other app in the app store! If you are unsure about this app the review sais it all 5 stars across the board.

Amazing!. Usually, when I see a paid app, I buy it with caution. When I saw the good reviews for the app, I decided to buy it. At first, it was a little tough to understand, but I caught on quickly. I eventually finished all the levels and put down the game for a while (This was before the thing with 1/2/3 stars). A while later, when I still had the app, but didn't play it, I decided to pick it back up and to challenge myself to find better solutions. To my surprise, there were now stars. This definitely gave me a challenge. For most levels, I had an OK solution, but not 3 stars. So I went back and decided to find a three star solution on all of the levels. Eventually I did, but even then I wasn't satisfied with some of the solutions. I went back and redid them all again to get even better scores. Even after going back numerous times, this app is still so much fun! Andrew Garrison has definitely done it! This app is amazing! Thanks :D

Great game!. The highest levels were quite challenging and took quite some time for me to solve. I had to work backwards from solutions that were too expensive. I found that the levels of play were difficult enough to be challenging but the difficulty of the windy city level bordered on frustrating. Although more puzzles would be fun, for me I would not want them any more difficult. I, however, am no engineer. My solution for the windy city is successful only 5 out of 7 times.

Terrific engineering fun!. Got my 6 year old hooked — that’s worth the price of admission right there! This includes 12 different building challenges with increasing difficulty. Learn how to transfer stress, distribute loads, and handle jerks (yes, the technical term for change in acceleration over time). Once you come up with a solution, try to build it under budget! Love this game. Like others I want for more. That said, there is a rich amount of play in the trimming to absolute minimum required to pass the tests. Requires a bit of tenacity/obsession to unlock that aspect of the game. Well worth the money, IMO.

Intuitive physics. Excellent set of physics exercises in static equilibrium. It isn't easy to find a set of simulations that are readily accessible to students that don't also require math calculations, at which point the exercise often reduces to the math, leaving physical principles behind, These simulations focus on real engineering situations with imaginative graphics, and an easy to use interface. They are presented in order of difficulty, starting with a tutorial that walks the initiate though the basic methods. Love this program!

Engaging. My 10 year old grandson loves this game. He spends hours trying to get more stars!

Enjoying the game BUT.... This game doesn't include tutorials on basic engineering and architectural principles, leaving the player to flounder through experiment after experiment until something works. OK, the structure fails, but WHY is it failing? OK, a skyscraper should be flexible against elementary forces, but how do you build that? The budgetary limitation is an excellent aspect, but there are no tutorials on how to keep costs down other than to use less material. Lastly, the screen needs some work. Objects are too close to the edge. I frequent pull up the message board. You sometimes can't see what you're doing because your own finger is in the way. If you construct something incorrectly, you end up undoing it and trying again - and usually with the same results.

Great Game! (with a few bugs). This game is really awesome/fun; After playing the game "Bridge Basher," I had to get this game. Simple Physics has many really interesting scenarios to mess with, and would be even better if it got more, periodically. Although it's so much fun, great for killing time, and has tons of potential, Simple Physics has some bugs that has been really bothering me. Many times when i start the game up, at the screen where it says something like, "tap here" (to get to the main menu with all of the scenarios), it just crashes on me. Besides this.. It's an awesome game! :D

Great game/learning opportunity. I have enjoyed this game, couldn't put it down, even stayed up late and got up early to play. It really made me think, yet was very entertaining. I'd like to see more levels. Suggestions: make the icons bigger, the build and remove button, the undo and especially the testing icons! You have plenty of room to enlarge. I had to stop and look and be precise to be sure I hit the right one. Maybe even flash a certain color or word by the work area to indicate which mode you are in, build or remove, so you don't have to look way up to the left. Still, I liked this game/learning tool and I usually don't give out 5 stars.

Outstanding. Two main things I love about this game and games like it: I can feel that it's a labor-of-love when I play it (like I'm meeting up with a buddy for coffee) and it gives me the freedom to apply my mind to the game world to see what comes out, instead of most games where you are expected to dance to the song the designer plays, jumping through hoops to get the next shinier *fill-in-the-blank*. Mr Garrison has truly designed a game that is as much a pleasure to mess around with as it is to "solve." Personally, I believe the "best" games are those that provide the most pleasure from actually playing them, where the goals and rewards complement the game without overwhelming them. Simple Physics easily fits into my Top 4 Game Apps that includes: Osmos, Tiny Wings, and World of Goo. It's not quite as polished as those other games I mentioned, but it more than makes up for this by allowing players a great deal of freedom to try out crazy ideas in the pursuit of ever cheaper structures that can survive the minimum requirements laid out for each level.

False advertising. No indication that cost will be involved until you get well into the game. Be truthfull!

Stopped Working. I have enjoyed this app for years, but now I am running iPadOS 14.2 and whenever I start it, it immediately crashes. Please fix?

Good. Needs more levels, better Ui.. It's a very fun game and I enjoy the challenge to build well while under budget. I would appreciate a lot more levels and different material options for added complexity and realism. Maybe the ability to just strengthen certain joints as well instead of single strengths across the board. A finer grid would add difficulty levels and allow for more arch-like shapes that would be stronger construction with less material. that's how real engineers do it. The simplicity of the game is nice but that doesn't mean it should be a limiting factor. I would appreciate a bit more polish and attention to the user interface. Deleting and building should have separate buttons or show some kind of indication of which tool is selected. Even a rocker switch would make more sense than a button that changes icons... Or the screen Ui could turn colors to indicate you're in erase mode. Either way it's currently shoddy Ui design. I'll rate this title higher if my improvements are made.

Very fun and addictive. This game is very, very fun. It's levels are challenging yet pleasing to play, and they test your architectural skills greatly. When you fail a level, for some reason you don't get frustrated, you just get this urge to go back to the editing screen and try, try again to find that design that works. Also, the change so that the level failed box stays out of the screen and the finger test is fun for tossing around structures or tearing them apart for fun, especially the skyscraper test. This is a very fun and addictive game that has made me rethink what I thought of as stable and foolproof designs. Many new levels since it came out, and probably many, many more to come. A very good buy.

New update is not for my liking. Before the most recent update ( the one adding the ramp and train bridge levels ) the menu navigating through everything (go back to menu, clear level , load levels, high scores, etc) has changed. I really don't like the new layout and where the buttons were located; and I highly prefer the old one. Also now when hitting the stop button in a finger level, it goes completely back to the blueprint instead of in the old version before the update, hitting the stop button would only freeze your current destruction. Please change back to old ways.

Vary good.. I got the app and soon after my dad got addicted to SimplePhysics he and I try to get the cheapest structure it’s so much fun. GET THE APP

Great game, challenging puzzles. I’ve played this game since the initial release. My daughter plays it quite a bit now, too. Always trying to beat my scores. The leaderboards seem to be gone, now, though. Would love to see more levels added (even if it was a paid add-on)!

Great game for the engineering minded. I have been through most of the levels in this games and find it to be a great mind exercise. I am not an engineer by trade, I program computers, so coming up with a solution to some of the problems can be a bit tricky but it is definitely a whole lot of fun. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoy mind puzzles. One quick hint, in the upper left corner there is an icon that looks like a red and green cylinder. Click this to change your view to the stress view. In this view all the parts are green and turn more red as they are stressed. This makes it a lot easier to find the high stress points and either enforce them or redirect the force away from them.

Makes you think. Find me a game that makes you think. Finally a game that makes you use your brain. It’s unlike those mindless games that are good if you only have two brain cells left.

Great app. This is by far one of the best apps on the app store. There are endless possibilities on each level and so many different ways of approaching them. The only problem is there arent enough levels. Ten levels or whatever number it is, isnt enough to play for endless hours. I suggest that you add different level packs: such as carnival, which is all about amusement park rides; or winter, which is all about supports being weighted down by snow. Another cool feature to add to the app would be the material you are building with. For example, wood is weaker then concrete, but is less expensive. There are so many opportunities to make this app so much better, and you could easily do so by listening to your reviews. The people bring up good points.

Just balancing out the reviews.. This app is fantastic and very challenging. It's still fun to go back and replay the levels after you've gotten 3 stars. I would rate the game four stars, because like others have said, it's not consistent. Some levels I can beat if it's on fast forward, but on normal speed I lose. However, I'm giving it five stars to help balance out the undeserved one star reviews. The game runs very well, and the people who have problems probably have problems with other games too, meaning it's their iPad, not the app. Over all, fantastic game, and I can't wait for more levels.

VERY GOOD. This is the game that i ever looked for! I always wanted to be a architect. But the costs need to be more realistic. In the stairs level it says that the design must cost a maximum of 110 dollars but in real life its much more than that! And there should be a sandbox mode. Do that and i will give it 5 stars!(i never rate a game 5 stars) I like that the weak parts are red to show you that it needs tweaking. Also, in the finger test if you press "stop" then "no" the game will be stopped, then place various explosions then press play and see the big "boom"! its good to see if your design is very resistant. i dont know if its a bug, but if its a bug then dont fix it!

Good. I really like it, and I enjoy how active the developer is (I think we just received the fourth update or something) so far I've beaten all the levels, and I think the dam was too easy. Id like to see the updates coming, perhaps you could include some support structures for boats, pickup trucks or other vehicles. I'd also like to see a sewer or maybe a dam that holds back two rivers where they connect. I'd really really really like to see a moon base mission, although you'll have to figure out what it is that the base needs to hold up. Thanks for making a great game that everyone should own - pleas just keep the updates coming!

Big fan of the developers support!!. --YET ANOTHER-- a new level! The updates are pouring in. The amount of support and updates this game Is getting is really making me respect the developer.... I check the app store regularly now to check level updates! --ANOTHER UPDATE-- ok 2 more levels came out today. 5 stars from me.. Bring on the level updates! --UPDATE-- new level out.. I'm bumping the review up to 4 stars. Even though the physics are whacky, this game could be a really fun time if it had more levels. I'm glad to see another level was added in the update and look forward to future levels.... I was very excited to play this game because I love the bridge building style gameplay. I noticed there was only 5 levels (1 being a tutorial) and I figured there must be more unlocked on a second page. Nope - only 5... Over in no time at all. The other big gripe is that if you are looking to make a stable build, you have to throw out your plans on using a design that is realistic. The physics are pretty psychotic in this game and things will break in weird ways or work in weird ways. Most of the time when I was done a level, I would look at my structure and see this jumbled mess that was nothing like what a real life structure would be like in order to be stable. Physics improvement and more levels with better replay value would get those last 2 stars out of me..

S.T.E.M.. WOW! What a terrific means to engage students with engineering, design challenges, and problem solving. When I first started the game all I could thing of was how it relates to the federal S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) initiative. This application is a fantastic tool that teachers can use in the classroom to engage their students and get them excited about career fields in technology and engineering. For example, using an iPad to build a virtual structure that is governed by a real-world physics engine might be the spark that ignites the imagination of a future engineer! It's more than a game. It is a learning gadget. Great app!

Simplephysics is great. This game has been a blast from the first time I played it. The developer has made this more than a meaningless quote with his latest update. Since I purchased this app it has been expanded several times. I would have gladly paid for these new puzzles but he just keeps adding them to the game. Even after solving each level it's still fun to try to build a cheaper structure that will stand the strain I gave this 5 stars only because I can't give it six.

Great Game!. It’s a great game! However, it's way too short, it needs more levels. It is amazing game based off of engineering with a challenging aspect which will get you hooked very quickly. It has good challenge scaling, each level gets harder but if you use your ideas from another build it is easier. The leaderboard makes me want to keep playing because I am very competitive, so that’s another added bonus. Overall, it’s a great game

Awesome game!. Excellent fun for anyone who enjoyed building popsicle-stick bridges as a kid! All the levels are passable, but only if you've got the engineering intuition! Please don't mistake the negative reviews folks have left for this game as a sign that the game is buggy or incomplete -- it's far from it! All the levels are challenging, and there are probably a lot of folks who weren't sure what they were getting into when they bought this game. If you think of things like Doodle Jump and Angry Birds when you think of iOS games, then you might consider this more of a structural engineering simulator than a game. For the right kind of nerd, though, this game is awesome! One last mentionable: Andrew, the developer, has been putting an incredible amount of work into this game since its release. He still has a full-time job and a new baby to take care of, yet he's nearly doubled the content the game shipped with in just over a month! He even added native ipad support, which most devs charge extra for. Support this guy! Even if the game isn't something you'd normally buy, supporting this sort of indie development is good for everyone!

Decent. This game is good, and makes you think hard. However, for a paid game, I feel like there should’ve been 2-3 more levels. Also, clues or tips should be at least a in game, attainable things that you can reuse by achieving *insert parameter*.

Professional SE says: Yeah!. This app works best on the iPad, so I get the complaints from iPhone users. The units may confuse some, but u can find conversion apps. In short, 1lb = 4.44 Newtons. I'm a practicing structural engineer and the "finger test" is accurate. The stresses are exactly where they should be. So far, I have only found one thing that begs a revision. There apparently is no difference between a "continuous" beam and a segmented beam. For example, the Stairs level. In RL, stairs need a continuous "stringer", the diagonal beam which intersects each inside stair tread at the riser. Other than that, I am baffled at the leader board. I spent hours on some levels to achieve 3 stars, only to see some others built the same structure for half the price. I am CEO of my firm. Give me a call and ur hired!

Boring. I got the game with MY MONEY and I have already done all the lessons so it was a WASTE

Great build-it physics game!. This game was great, limited on levels and a few other minor functionality issues was the only issues I saw fit to be corrected in this game. Aside from that this was an extremely fun build-it game that quickily became an extremely hard app that shows me I know not how to build a tornado proof skyscraper...lol I would greatly enjoy seeing more levels, and maybe a revamped physics engine including more complex structural physics, maybe a material selection function(just don't see any bomb shelter made of wood surviving) also while I was disappointed to not see the traditional bridge structuring, I greatly enjoyed the spin on it with all the different structures to build. Key Fixes: Selection then delete function - plenty of times I deleted wrong beam trying to delete another nearby beam. Revamp the scroll/zoom func. - double finger scrolling just doesn't feel right. More Levels - uhh self explainitory. Thanks for the great game so far!

Good game but needs more levels. I loved this game until I finished it then I just started playing SimpleRockets 2 which by the way anyone who is reading this you should totally download SimpleRockets 2 for only $6.99 But let’s get back on track it needs a lot more levels like at least five to like 20 more levels seriously make more levels to this game jundroo please I need more levels.

Simple Physics. Great idea for a game. Addictive. Would be awesome if it actually showed you other people's solutions and taught you the simple physics principles along the way. Comparing scores without solutions was a big let down. Need to get hints as you play.

Good app. This is a very good app. It is very fun and very educational. I have recommended this app to a lot of my students. It teaches them things about physics in a fun way. The app also looks very nice from the exterior, and the levels vary each time, so you are not doing the same thing over and over again. I think that this is vital in this type of game. Overall, it is a very nice game with both fun and educational aspects. I would recommend this game to anyone that is interested in physics, or anyone that enjoys puzzle games. Good work Andrew!

Okay. I found the first few really fun but When I got to the crane level I struggled.... Alot ! I found the game fun and wanted to play before that but I don't have alot of knowledge in building things .. And when I saw the way to pass that level after hours of trying I was amazed. It didn't feel to much like puzzle solving it felt like something an engineer would know. Other than that I thought it was fun. Maybe if in the tutorial it had more tips on how to reinforce structures. Other than that it's pretty fun

Rotation bug. Why can't the app rotate? I understand locking to horizontal, but there are to horizontals on an iPad. I have a stand on mine, and get annoyed that I have to take it off to play this game the way it is loaded up.

An interesting app. Has kept me interested for a long time. Even after completing a level

Pretty good!. It's a bit hard to get into this game- it's not obvious until you have a go, and stick at it! My tips: when deleting multiple beams, just drag your finger around instead of tapping. The crane was the HARDEST and LAST thing I completed! Over all it's great and I'm hooked!

Awesome!. This is an awesome app! keeps you playing and good for all ages and is a great educational app. What it does need though are more exiting things (some are though). like a car that can survive a crash or some future drop pod to survive hitting earth. all in all this is an amazing app and a fantastic idea!

Be warned.... Dangerously addictive, life changing and mind altering. You will never look at simple things quite the same way again.

Not sure about the accuracy of the physics but still great fun trying to work it out. I never went past senior high school physics, so I can't be sure, but I think there might be some different rules about structural strengths. That said it's still fun trying to find the solution. It would be good if the test mode had a playback and zoom function, so you can focus in where things broke down. As is, it shows the test fail and then the splash screen comes out and blocks the view. Hope you keep building on this game - could end up being one of the greats.

Addictive but..... Great app, has pleanty of levels now with the update, however, some of the physics can be a little off realistic but all in all its a great buy for $1.19. My friend and i keep trying to outdo each other with $$$

Gets you thinking!. I don't quite know how I passed some of those levels,but according to this game I could become a building engineer!

Simple physics review. The app is brilliant and very entertaining. However it falls short in that you are forced to purchase the solutions to levels if you are stuck. For me this is a big turnoff as I have already purchased the app yet we are still forced to pay more for help. What kind of message does this give to you customers? A large amount of other games are free but you must purchase additional parts to better the game. This is more appealing to me. Overall a fantastic app but the added payment for solutions brings it down. Looking forward to some more levels. Maybe and earthquake one?

Good. SimplePhysics is hard, simple, but well made, and though it's very small it's fun to play. Maybe a few more lela. What about a free mode where you just build anything you want then destroy with touch test or save it? Great work guys...

Awesome. Really nice app guys but I think that you guys should add an airplane round where you have to design a wing or something but overall great work!!!!!!!!!! ( please don't forget about the bridge basher and make updates for that as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

Challenging and fun. A great game!! Most logic games become too predictable too fast for me, but this one keeps me challenged as I try to minimize the cost of my designs. You have to consider the weight of the beams and their interaction with each other is way more complex than I thought.

Excellent clever realistic. I like how it makes me think of better cheaper ways to build. Sure I can get one star each level by over engineering but the skill comes in keeping the cost down. Needs more levels but definitely it's a great brain game.

Although we have ALL brought the app ( sadly ) we still get annoyed by those ridiculous ads! if you are pricing an app at this price, you should at least live up to its name! if you are going to scam us, well good luck in the future, karma karma.

Simple and addicting. Really cool game, new levels would be nice. Don't get how people get such good high scores! Would be cool if you could look at the leaders blueprint but then cancel out the use of it for anyone who tries to copy.

Great game. If you enjoy strategy more than action, or consider yourself a budding builder/engineer, this is a must have game. It's something that people of all ages can play too. If you want to really challenge yourself, you can look at the online high-scores and try to pass each test with the absolute minimum of material used. I've given it 4 and not 5 stars, mostly because of the user interface. It's not as user-friendly as it could be, or as we've come to expect from many apps on iOS. But once you know your way around, it's usable. Just not 5 star in my opinion. Also, there are a few little oddities in the way material behaves in certain situations. I'd go as far as to call them bugs, but you may not ever encounter them. In most cases, the physics seem very realistic. Overall, a great game.

Beware the In House Purchases. Yep, everything looks great until you find that to get beyond the basic game you have to cough up quite a few bucks ........ It really stinks that you can't even look at the solution for a problem without having to purchase the answers! I hate getting caught like this! 😡😠😬😠😤

False Advertising - Be warned. I bought this App under the impression that it was reduced in price (as mentioned in the opening line). Unfortunately this appears to be either be an oversight or a clever deception by somebody as I (and possibly everyone else) was charged the original price. I will be looking forward to a partial refund or else I will refuse to believe any such promotions in the future.

Another App well done. Bridge Bashers was good, this is better. Challenging, addictive and devilishly hard in some spots, nice rounded game. Having a nice big blueprint area to make whatever you want and test it or an area where you can set challenges for others to download would be nice, otherwise a top game. :{>

SI units plz!!. Great game, brilliant concept and well executed. One thing that is missing is the option of using SI units across the board instead of a mixture. For example in the game: 1. mass is displayed as pounds and not kilograms, 2. speed is displayed as miles/Hr not metres/sec 3. When applying a point force, the force is displayed in newtons. SI units are so much easier for calculations.

Nice. The game is actually a very simple physics simulation where you need to build the structure of various objects for various occations. It's really fun and sometimes it amazes me how accurate the physics engine is. It doesn't look and feel too polished by itself but most of the simple interfaces does its job. Your aim is to build with as little cost as possible and thus, brings great replayability. One level is sufficient to keep you occupied for hours. It's a great game for 1.19. Based on the many content updates this game has had, there should me more levels coming in the future so it's a great value buy.

Meh...simple physics is apt. Don't let the name fool you, this is more game than physics. I was disappointed how inaccurate loads are calculated. If more care was put into calculating more accurate loads, this would be a great fun educational tool. Unfortunately, this is just a frustrating game.

Fat fingers lol. For all the fat people complaining about how their fat fingers can't draw lines, I recommend losing weight instead of blaming the game. You can also zoom, but that means two fat fingers on your screen and I'm not even sure if that's possible given that blubber spills all over the screen.

Okay. Its fun and all... But there should be ratings... Like, lower the budget higher the rating, and vice versa.. Also, LEADERBOARDS are messed up... I take for exemple the crane level... The first one one the leaderboards did it with 2000$... Thats just impossible... You cant even link the crane with 2000.. So obviously the guy cheated somehow... And in my opinion.. Good Concept. First of all, this game has been fun, and fulfilled my hunger for more after bridge basher. HOWEVER, the Physics engine the game uses is quite random and unrealistic. This makes the game less of an engineering challenge, and more of a random puzzle. Also, I agree with other reviewers that there are not near enough levels. Thanks.

Recommendations: -best score records: if the game could keep track of your best scores for each level it would give incentive to go back and do better. -bronze, silver, gold instead of a dollar hard cap("sorry your design is $1 over... Great potential but falls short. This game is really cool. And well the idea behind it is excellent. Also the features are not bad. With that said the physics could probably be better, or at least more consistent. Some designs I have made work once but on a second or third try fail and then miraculously work again. Also there are only a few levels. There could be more. Finally the game will sometimes crash on me. Not often but it has happened several times. All in all the game is pretty good but could be better.

Absolutely Impossible. -5 stars. This game is called 'Simple Physics' but the physics engine in this game is for , minus the smile. I can't even get past the second level! Four 50 lb. children could've totally fit on like four of my inventions. And the fact that you have to build stuff for as little money as possible adds a new level of the in- prefix. Btw, who the h*** builds a tree house on the side of the tree, 15 feet from the ground!?!?! I like physics games, and I have like, 9 of them on my iPhone but this is a sorry, worthless, excuse for a physics game. The physics wouldn't even make sense if you were on Jupiter. Brilliant!!!. Love the game. Really makes a person think. UI is very friendly. LOVE IT!!!!! And you need to love it too! The app is very stable, except, for me, when my battery died while running the app, the app crashed every time I tried to run it after recharging. I had to reinstall the app. Other than that, it NEVER CRASHED. And about the battery. This app seems to shorten 2nd gen iPod touch battery life very significantly. Play the game, but you'll know if you got carried away.

Great puzzle game!. If there were explanations or hints as to why a particular design worked better than others or if there was a way to view winning designs from the leader boards, it would be very helpful and more engaging game. Other than that, this game is only missing more levels. I think the "testing" interface could be more streamlined, but that is only a minor gripe. This is a great game that is well worth your time and money!

Idea. I think you should be able to view the dummies health and damage to the different body parts. Also I think it would be cool If you could make a free play level to make structures out of different materials and the test there strength against the elements force and bombs. This app is very great and also definitely worth the money.

Well designed. This is a great and engaging game, and unlike many others, it is not mindless. Definitely needs more levels, though. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it isn't super consistent. This is especially noticeable on the bomb shelter level where a solution will work one time, then you modify it, then go back to the way it was before, it suddenly fails. Other than that, great game. Just ok. 11¢ a level.. With only 9 levels & iffy touch controls this game doesn't hold up to it's 99¢ sticker price. And I never thought I'd say that about a decent game. Def needs more levels and you'll be finding yourself erasing as much as you're adding. Also I think you'd need a engineer's license to complete a couple of these levels. Did I mention there's only 9? That's 11 cents a level. Oh yeah and as an in-app purchase you can donate $5 to the developer. And for 99¢ you can get solutions to all the levels. All 9 of them.

Great game!. Downloaded this app during a very dry meeting. (Just looking for something to keep me busy). It turns out I love this app! It requires ingeinuity and thought to solve the puzzles. To the reviewer who said there should be hints, i would say this... I too have wished for hints, but if I had them I would have used them and "cheated" through the level. This way I gained the satasfaction of solving it myself.

Amazing new idea. It's one of the best games yet not because of any complicated graphics design or story line or video effects. It's simple though complicated. Applying physics laws to solve problems is a new idea in the app store and I find the game amazing. I hoping to see more levels very soon as the levels are very few and I finished them all in one go. Simple Physics 1.7.2: Simply Amazing. I was an pre-med, english, and drama major, but the science/physics bug never left me. This is really fun, because it allows me to try different construction layouts (read: "static engineering design; tension/compression structures; truss design"). Very Cool, and, even if the new structure fails, it tells you how much weight it took to make it fail, so you can learn by experimentation, without a SkilSaw and hammer.

Well worth 99 cents. I've played it for days and still love it. The levels are great, each one is unique. The style of play is easy to handle. My only complaints is that I wish there were more levels. Also, I think more of the simpler levels like the tree house levels should be added. They're not super easy, and in my opinion they are the most fun.

Simple truss designs. Great little engineering game, reminiscent of my freshman Statics class. You have to design for point loads, distributed loads, and variable loads. The upper limit is cost, so the solution is to throw a whole lot of trusses at the problem. Oh so satisfying when you hit upon the correct solution. I just started yesterday, and have yet to complete the last two problems. From the hints, I gather these require a bit more creative thinking. Thanks for making such a fun game.

Great game but add levels!. This is a really great game with levels that are going to leave you puzzled for a while but overall this game is just awesome! The real reason for me to write this review is that there is not enough levels to play I have them all beat with a high score on the staircase and a daily high score on the bomb shack. So please add more levels or make a new game please. Thank you!

Compatibility. This is a wonderful app. HOWEVER, this version will NOT work with the new iOS that will be launched a month later. Please offer upgrade so we can keep enjoying your awesome app on the iOS 11. Speaking of which, I personally think that the interface (buttons, dialog boxes) are a little bit crude. So if you tweak with the visuals, I would be happy to say, that this is flawless.

Hours go by.... It's like Angry Birds without the characters. You design solutions to simple physics problems. Your solution is tested to see if it can withstand the stress of the situation. If yes, you are "scored" based on the cost of your design. The best are listed on the leader board. I find hours go by without noticing. Unfortunately, the interface could use a little work, but it doesn't keep me from playing.

Good fun for the mechanically inclined!. The crane level was tricky to build under budget. Took about 2hrs for me to solve that one alone! Oddly though I saved my solution blueprint to try and improve it some later. But when I re-opened the saved blueprint, the crane no longer worked properly. Disappointing considering it took so long to solve and the solution didn't seem to work the same way twice!!

Fun, but.... I was a big fan of bridge basher, and excited when I was able to get this one for free (yes, it was free, why complain?). Two things about this one bug me a bit: 1) working with smaller blueprints make for very frequent mistakes in the building phase (at least fir those of us with big fingers), 2) and when running the certification, other than the stair test, it's hard to see where a design is failing. In bridgebasher you could see where the stresses were happening, and make the necessary adjustments. In this game though, structures just fail completely without much insight as to why.

Entertaining and instructive. I will be bummed when I run out of levels. I am puzzled why there is asymmetric stress on symmetric structures. In a future version, it would be cool if different materials, with different costs, could be used. I think the stress view mode should be the default mode. That mode is also unintuitive in the way it is turned on, in a test. Still this is a great app with varied and interesting scenarios. Great for piquing the interest of kids (around 4th grade and up, I'd say).

Awesome Game!!. It is very addicting especially if you're tryin to beat the leaderboards. The developer is great too! He is updating this app constantly and using customer feedback for ideas to do it. Check it out! It's great! I have personally had two of my ideas i submitted implemented in the game. (crane level and UNIVERSAL ipad support. That tells you a little about the developer right there. Most devs want to call it HD and charge 2 or 3 dollars more for an ipad version.) SUPPORT THIS INDEPENDENT DEVELOPER!

To the haters. To those of you below saying it never simulates the same way, what's wrong with that? A: You try programming an app that millions of people want to play, and B: in real life, if you built two structures next to each other the exact same way, place a bomb at the base of each one, and detonate it. Are they going to react the same way? No. Do all demolitions go as planned? No. Thats nature for you, so don't go crying to mommy when you also decide to detonate an m80 firecracker in your hand because it looked good on paper. RDM

Awesome, except controls. Such a great game, I've been spending hours on this one (first levels are easy but it gets tough!) highly recommended. However, for steer reason the touch sensitivity is terrible. It never knows when you're pressing an in-game button, and it always gets where you want to draw a plank wrong. The only flaw I would like to see fixed. Oh and more levels please!

Stunning.. Though there is nothing "Simple" about this game it is one of the best games available on the App Store. And it's FREE! Simple Physics challenges your mind with a fun game as well as teaching you the basics of architecture. Simple Physics delivers the ultimate reward of accomplishment after each level you pass. I am greatly looking forward to any future additions to this amazing game.

Great fun and educational app. It's fun and educational for me and my 4 year old boys. Really a great app as is. It could be even better in my opinion if you could see the stress statistics at the pressure points. That way you could learn all about the physics and it would be that much more educational. I want to know where my design is breaking and how I am distributing the load. It's a fun game, but I think I'm more interested in the educational aspects for me and my kids.

One of the best app!. No doubt! This is one of the best app ever! My 8 and 10 years-old play on it all the time. And I have to fight with them to play. It is educational. They learn more than physics since they don't know much physics. But they learn to work together and bounce ideas around. It is one of the best physics teaching tool. I just wish there are more levels, including more and less challenging modes.

Love This App. I was looking for any type of app that would allow me to build, destroy, and stress test things. This one does all three, it has met every one of my expectations, and is hours of fun in my opinion. Worth every penny. I also bought Dummy Defense for the same reason. One request however, you should add a free play mode that allows us to make the build area as small or large as we please. Using a pre defined area to build is a tad annoying at times, other than that, flawless.

A great puzzler, but little explanation.. Only because I played around with "Bridge Basher" did I understand the basic concept of this game. However there is not much explained beyond the tutorial. Each puzzle's scale is different, and your never really told that the bigger the bar, the more it weighs. Some levels objectives are not clear until you just try it out. But it is fun to mess around and try crazy things too.

Great fun and Value. This app is the most fun for your money in the app store I think. The game's developer support is more than I've come to expect, with new levels added regularly. The current number of levels is awesome considering the number of ways to solve each level, and how much time you can spend mastering each. Did I mention this was made entirely by one fellow? He is such a BAMF!

Great game!. First of all, great game. It left me wanting more levels. I'd like to think I'm learning physics principles while playing but I'm not so sure. I love the overlay where you can see where the stress is. It would be cool to be able to use different materials. Also, the interface feels a little clumsy, particularly with regard to the "erase" mode. That said, it's still more enjoyable than other physics builders I've played.

High school teacher. I am actually a teacher of beginning physics at the high school level and we just finished a bridge project - I wish we could have played with this app as a class - it would have helped my students get more creative designs. I'm hooked, and now my husband is too - he's determined to beat my scores, but so far, I'm winning!

New Level IDEA!. This is a great game by the way! I'm a firefighter and I was doing my morning check out of our Ladder Truck the other day and I thought of simple-physics! It's a 105' ladder that has a load rating at the tip when fully extended max is 550lbs roughly 2 firefighters. And also has a rating when flowing water out of the Master-stream when extended. It can generate a lot of back pressure that can cause damage to the ladder. Just a thought On either idea! Keep em coming!

Hey! I'm good at this!!. Surprised me, but if the blueprints of the wind-blown 28 story building is correct, I'll have to take stock of my ability. Need more levels. Great game, decently accurate representation of structural stresses...more levels please. It would be great if each level showed the amount of budget remaining so you didn't have to exit out to check budget. Also, rather than just say the structure fails, give the level it fails at (i.e. Wind speed) Is there a place to view other players solutions/ post your own solutions?

One of a kind!. This game is phenomenal, forget the fact u learn a little something out of it. The developer is constantly adding features and levels. As well as gives us all a forum to voice our Opinion on upcoming levels. I only ask for a little section with general and basic design principles.

Decent...but. Great games, really. Only thing lacking is an easier way to see what star rating you would receive for the curt build. Perhaps some indicator on screen during the level to indicate what price ranges apply to what star instead of simply on the menu screen.

Really cool and challenging.. The only thing I didn't like about the game that it only has ten levels. We need more! :) Ferris wheel was the toughest one to find the initial working solution for me, and Submarine was the most difficult to obtain 3 stars. Anyway, the game is very interesting. When I finally got 3 stars on the Submarine level, I had five completely different working designs for it.

Great app. If you love to challenge your brain this is a must buy app. I am a huge fan of puzzles and challenging games this game takes the cake. I spent a lot of time playing this game the first levels are easy, but the windy city what fun that was... Still not even close to being done I must find the cheapest way to build all the levels.

Jackl6. This game in my honest opinion is the absolute best game app for the IPhone. I truly wish there was more content in the means of a few hundred levels and a part of the game that lets you make your own challenges. This game gets 6/5 stars in my book just hope the writer of the program feels inclined to add a bunch more levels and the design your own level aspect to the already awesome game!

Awesome physics phun!. As an architect, this game reminded me of my time in grad school. So much fun, and a good, refreshing challenge. I sometimes got frustrated with the erasure, trying to skip steps and not zooming in before choosing members, but that is just my impatience. I love the stress view, which helps you really visualize the stresses on the structures and diagnose faults or redundancies in your designs. Thanks so much! I look forward to more!

Creative. I downloaded app because i love designing and building. After i got it my 9 yr old son played and is better at it than me. While i do wish there were more levels, its only a buck, you dont get all the burgers on the menu for a buck you get one burger from the value menu. I mean cmon 10 levels for a buck i believe thats a good deal.

Nice Simple Fun With Physics. A nice why for you to apply your knowledge of concepts such as energy and force. This is a very nice game allowing you to apply simple physics. It seems easy at first but you will find it does get difficult at times. The graphics are very nice. I really like the module which lets you manually test your structures. This is an interesting game and fun game but, wish more levels were available. Please add more levels!!! I'm looking forward to an update.

Great game!. I love this game. It's fun, educational, and practical in some instances. I play this game more than any other game on my iPad. There are some levels that are extremely difficult, but there is a good balance of difficulty. We were passing this around at the firehouse trying to get three stars on the stairs. All ages can enjoy this game.

Great app!. I love this app! It needs more levels however. They don’t even need to be difficult levels either, just simple ones. How about a level where you have to build a hot air balloon basket strong enough to hold a certain amount of people? Anyway great work! The physics are really well done!

I bought the solution and feel cheated. I bought the solution and it solved the puzzles, but with junk solves. Take the first tree house. Any fool can solve it for 167 dollars. But go to the Leaderboard section and see that the top people are solving it for 28 dollars. Thats what I wanted to see, how did they solve it so cheap. But after buying the solve, I get a junk solve where anyone can do better. Solving the puzzles is not the issue. Solving them for the leader scores is as I do not believe they can actually be solved for that small amount.

I love this game and the fact that it is only a dollar makes it much better but it needs to have a bridge level or just like a free build stage with different tests to try out on whatever you build also please add a bridge level to this like the other game had in it other than that this game is well made and well worth the dollar

Love it. This game was absolutely the best physics game out there it was such a challenge! After beating every level me and my friends competed to get three stars on every level now we compete to see who has the cheapest design some players argue that the budget isn't fair well some levels my friends and I have did it under budget by half!!! Waiting on more levels!!!!

Love it. I love this game. Very challenging and addicting especially with the new crane level. I can't get it to keep from breaking! The only suggestion I have is to add a slow motion mode maybe so it's easier to see where it breaks. Also more time to look at the structure after it fails so you don't have to watch it over and over to find where it needs the most attention.

Solid app with room for improvement. This is a fun a challenging app (for folks without physics training). More levels would be good but a tutorial on the principles involved with each level would be great! This app requires an Internet connection otherwise it will crash when you successfully complete a level. This app is fun and addicting! :)
