AFK Journey: Homestead Game Reviews

Had potential. The game is pretty good mindless fun for a while, and it is reasonably friendly to F2P and low spenders. The game launched with a lot of hype and an excited and supportive community. I’m not opposed to the idea of seasons, however the execution of the seasonal model leaves a lot to be desired. 4 months per season is simply too long, and leads to the game being fun for about 1 month and boring for the next 3 months with mediocre events. Also, most of the new units released since launch are ok but only 1 or 2 are interesting. The developers are heading in the right direction for next season but almost everyone I know has already quit the game and if you are on an older server it is hard to fill a guild with active players. If they can bring back some old players or bring in new players the game could be healthy again, but it might be too late already.

Great game, horrible balancing. This game is great, there’s a ton to do including a vast world and a story that, for all it’s worth, is not that bad at all. There’s countless heroes all with their own move sets and unique abilities as well. Now for the criticism; you only get to use about half those heroes. It’s real bad in the PvE gamemodes but they at least use things such as seasonal artifacts and relics to switch up the meta each season. Which unfortunately, still tends to ignore about 50% of the roster, leaving them entirely useless. It’s especially prevalent if you intend on participating in PvP tho. There is a total of 1 usable team that every single person is always using so it always comes down to who’s heroes have more upgrades. Which is usually just the person who's coughed up more cash for the game. If you do see something even slightly different, you’re equipping that team and thinking “Oh boy, a free win!”. Long story short: This game is amazing for people who either aren’t very competitive or are willing to spend thousands on the game.

T-Rexes have nothing to do with this. I only put that header so that people know this is a legit review. Which I never do. This game is top-tier. AFK Journey actually is what all afk games should aspire to be. The ease of character summonings and leveling system are all exactly what I want out of games like this. It’s not a hassle if you want to trade your main groups for other characters, since they only require you to upgrade five character slots instead of the characters themselves, so you don’t have to go to the trouble of resetting characters, re-upgrading the new ones, and by the time you’re done, all of your presets are screwed. Instead, you upgrade the five main slots, and every other character matches the lowest of the five. Equipment is shared among all classes instead of being limited to each person, so you don’t have to worry about grinding really hard to get good gear for a single person and everyone else has to wait for the next opportunity to come. The story line is great, but I don’t always have time to watch the cutscenes, so there is an option to skip all cutscenes, but don’t worry, the important ones give you a summary of what you would have learned in the cutscenes so that you can keep up while saving time. This game is great. Visually appealing, character progression and collection, user friendly, and intuitive. Play it. If there is a clan function, I will be creating one named STN. Good game but NO moderation. It’s yet another idle type p2w type game but that’s pretty much all there is anymore anyway. I do like the open world pve aspect though. Overall I do love the game, but it has some pretty bad lag and force closing problems right now. Hopefully they’ll deal with this when they update as it’s just been released…if they do I’ll update my review as well. The reason I took off another star is that user names, avatars, and chat in general have no moderation. People can say all of the most awful and disgusting things they want with no consequence. There is a report button but it seems to do nothing. You can block people, but there are so many that I’m sure my block list will get full soon and it shouldn’t have to be this way. As it is now I just have to mute the channels, which I don’t want to have to do in the first place…but that resets itself every time you reopen the game, throwing you back into the cesspool.

Fun Game!. I recently left a review and I can’t find it to edit it but I was complaining that the game crashed several times in a few minutes making the game unplayable. I also couldn’t contact any time of player support to see if this was a common issue that was being worked on. But they fixed it! And they let me know it was fixed. My only issue is that the battle modes page only has the backgrounds and no pictures on it if the characters or anything but hey, it at least works now and I know they have a lot of kinks that probably still need working out. I really like this game because I get to come home from work and school and collect all of my rewards and play a fun game without much grinding. I really enjoy the AFK aspect and this has become one of my main games at the moment because of how easy it is to interact with. Whether I only have 5 min to play or an hour I can enjoy this game and I love it!

Creeps and vulgar language. I don’t typically write about stuff like this, but there’s just been a lot of inappropriate and creepy stuff happening in the public chat, and it just making me uncomfortable. Idk, how old these people are, but most of them seem to be men. In these comments, these men talk in grave detail about how the woman body is disgusting, and their preference in men and how they like to be pleasured. They also encourage other people to degrade them, since that seems to be a kink, and report and block people who call them out. There’s also people who, don’t participate, but make light of the joke and almost treat it as if it’s a tv show. Please, creator, put more effort into blocking these people, cause it didn’t matter how many times my friends and I reported, they were still online, being disgusting. Children are also in this app, and we don’t know if they have other means of communication with them.

Good Game. But the way to progress is eh. I love this game. Been playing it ever since the release and its really fun! Though the way to progress through the game is slightly tedious. Like some quests last 3-5 minutes after doing 50+ levels of the AFK stage then we have to dispel the Miasma or whatever its called again and it takes even longer! And after what, the 800 or 900th stage of the AFK arena in the 1st area there’s 3 stage options for example stage 951, 972, 958 though its annoying having to choose it. Sometimes the AFK mode is useless because of that feature and it gets really tedious. Hopefully the future quests are longer than before and actually worth the 50+ or 100+ stages! And the new season, its great. Though dispelling the second miasma takes stage 76?? How did it go from stage 5 to 76?? Anyways keep up the good work :) oh right. Forgot to mention, sometimes the chat in the quest or the options or anyone speaking is in Chinese??

Lots of potential!. I've recently delved into AFK Journey on iOS, and it's been a visually stunning and enjoyable experience thus far. The painterly graphics are captivating, complemented by engaging cutscenes and colorful animations that keep me hooked. However, I find the gameplay mechanics during combat to be lacking dynamism and involvement, which detracts from the overall experience. Adding a clearer perspective that focuses on the party, or giving us direct access to battle as the characters, could greatly enhance the visual appeal and immersion during fights. Introducing controller compatibility along with these mechanics would also be a welcome addition. Additionally, the vertical format on mobile devices feels somewhat limiting for an open-world game. Having the option to play in landscape mode, similar to PC users, would be fantastic, catering to players like myself who prefer that orientation. Despite these minor drawbacks, AFK Journey is a great new game with potential for improvement.

I hate mobile games. Other than AFK arena and now this. When I used to play AFK arena I loved that I could make progress everyday for multiple years and never really ran out of things to do. AFK journey is light years better in my opinion. There is a lot of QOL improvements from the original game such as itemization applying to ALL of the same class rather than having to gear each individual character. Purples are also nearly 3x more common to draw in my opinion/experience. Upgrading character and ascending them is a massive improvement, only requiring multiples of a character rather than combining low tier characters into food. The game has improved bosses in a big way, arcane labyrinth is more interesting in my opinion, battlefields are much improved as well with various maps and layouts to account for. If you liked AFK arena, you will absolutely like this. I have spent 10 bucks on the “battle pass” type system when the game launched. I currently have 3 character almost max ascension with over a dozen other characters mythic or mythic +. I never find myself being unable to use characters due to being left in the dust. Really good balance.

Easily a banger. This game cements this company as my favorite mobile game developer. I love the afk format and the combat, while not the most engaging, is still definitely enjoyable. To have all the dialogue, at least that I’ve heard so far, be voiced even for minor characters is something that I would expect from a triple A game priced at $70 not something on the App Store for free. However, my main complaint has to be the micro transactions. I’m fine with them and understand there necessity for being in the game, but the pricing of them in this game seems to be more hostile even compared to AFK Arena. For some items, the price will be just barely above the lowest priced bundle of in-game currency, so you’ll either have to purchase two of the lower priced one or go for a more expensive bundle, which for some reason the game actually explicitly recommends. I hope going forward they can tone down the micro transactions.

This irked me…. So- the game is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. However, I have a pet peeve with games like this that hit me again with this game, and it stems from years of world of Warcraft and other RPG’s. And that is unlocking PURPLE AND ORANGE/YELLOW characters within my first hour of playing the game!!!! What is the point of giving me end game characters at the beginning when I should be slowly progressing and enjoying my climb to the top?!? Now I’m level 8, joined by who I can only assume is the god of nature and a little boy who’s the son of the wealthiest man in the land (excuse my possible lack of knowledge over his family history) who are both ‘end game’ yellow characters that turn every fight into a hack and slash battle that’s over in a few seconds. What’s frustrating is that I see this in other games too, and I’m tired of it. Please end this… I don’t want a daedric sword as I’m exploring my first dungeon in Skyrim, I just want a little steel dagger that makes me go, “aww it’s not a sword, but it’s better than my current iron sword… soo… hmm guess I’ll be trying out daggers for a bit…”

Fun game. I love the game good level up very immersive love the pace of the game I have installed over 6-7 different idle games so far and I have so far deleted all of them after awhile but this one has stuck because I have not grown bored of it, I’d really say if I had something to criticize about this game it would be the matchmaking on honor duel for its game mode and the reasoning behind that is It really should just be called Luck duel if anything to start your gameplay all depends on your initial combo and its very clear which ones are better than others as you play this game mode more and get consistent results when you choose that combo as well as when you collect cards for your characters there’s times where I’ll be 3 wins in then get matched with a guy who has 4 legendaries and 1 epic while all I got is 1 legendary and 4 epics at what point is that honorable at that point that’s just a one sided massacre. There was one moment when I had all mythics with great gear attached to them and I had 8 wins no losses I was feeling pretty good all I needed was one more win then just back to back lost 3 rounds and lost the game like what!!!!

Good Game!! Please add in the option to watch ads for hero essence!!!. I really like this game. I got it a few weeks ago and it’s been very fun! The characters are designed very well and the story is pretty good. My only qualm is that the purple ‘hero essence’ is scarce, especially when all my main heroes need a few thousand of them every 11th level. It makes upgrading them very slow at times, especially when they’re too low-leveled to win battles. I know this is to slow people down, but seriously- once you hit resonance 100 it gets way too slow. —>Please add an option to watch ads for hero essence. I will gladly sit through a thirty second ad to get 500 hero essence, especially multiple times!! I’m not going to spend money on this game, let’s face it; and I know you guys want some money, so please take my advice and add this option!! You get money from the ads, I get hero essence. It’s a win-win. All you need is a button in the Trolley tab that says “Watch ad for x amount of Hero Essence.” I would gladly sit through the ads. Please add this option. Please. People in the game agree that they would like this.

Great for what was advertised.. I rarely play any afk based games like this. Usually they’re not my thing. However I found this game to pretty fun. I pre-ordered the game a while back and it gained me a lot of bonuses. I honestly disagree with most of the views of this game. It has a nice storyline so far with pretty cool characters. I don’t think this game is pay to win at all. As long as you take a little while to just get into it, it goes by pretty smooth. Now I hope they make this Mac compatible at some point because currently on my iPhone XR I had to delete it because the quality is too good lol. Even with graphics fully down it would make my phone lag or get pretty hot. My main issue was storage I believe. I think it’s definitely worth the try if you’re into games like this. (Make sure your phone can run it properly though or you have storage, the games pretty large and graphics can easily make your phone lag)

I like it a lot but it lacks support for certain play styles.. THe game overall is super fun and rewarding! Though I personally have found a problem, while this may be unique to me, I don’t play this game for girls with big breasts and men with six packs, I want cool animals on my team and while there are many animals, from a strategic stand point I’m greatly limited. I need support characters and the only GOOD support animal characters is hammy but I prefer having two or more support characters at a time. While there is the weasel guy I personally don’t like his design and his abilities leave MUCH to be desired. So I’d really like to see some variety in not just the animals but also their aesthetics! I would also personally really like a a tall girl character because every girl character just feels the same especially in build.

Not worth getting unless you spend a lot of money. So this game starts of pretty well and can be rewarding to the newer player but once you start to actually progress and have to do missions for the arena which is this games pvp mode, you get punished for not purchasing in things. Especially in the arena when you can tell people have spent a lot of money into it and have sunk very little time into the actual game itself . The power system in the arena especially broken is broken. It doesn’t matter what your power is or the level of your characters. Really you could be have better characters as well but if you didn’t put money into the game you pretty much just guaranteed to lose and not progress any farther in the game until you spend real money. I started this game thinging it would actually be different but it turns out it’s a paid to win game like everything else. Not worth the time unless you dump a few hundred dollars which I refuse to do

New “Season” makes the game no fun. The way the game was before was perfect. Come release for the new “season” and it is such a let down. Before it was simple to team comp and organize auto battles. But now with these laser bros and the bird things that run your team over. It’s unplayable. There’s no rhyme or reason to winning. I’ve watched the help section to try and get an idea on how others have done it. It doesn’t help. Replicating other comps with my team that is even higher level and has more copies on them does nothing. I have no idea why I can’t complete it the same way. The game doesn’t help in any sense on how to improve. Watching others just infuriates me since me trying the same comp doesn’t work. Being 20+ levels higher than the enemies no longer mean ANYTHING. I hate that I put money into this game when it was good. The new “season” has just been a waste of time and now money. Maybe I’ll come back when the game fixes itself. But as it is now… it’s no longer fun. I can’t progress in the story. Soren looked so much fun. Oh well. “Contact us via Facebook” I don’t have Facebook.

Lilith Showing True Colors (Again). I have to revise this review now that the new season has come out. I've hit endgame content (Trial of Abyss), have completed all base towers and AFK stages, and cleared out the base story map. This new season has essentially made all of this progress meaningless by forcing it's playerbase to reach endgame ALL OVER AGAIN via the SAME PROGRESSION SYSTEM! There are NO new endgame modes for base stats, and any and all progress will inevitably be removed for the next season progression. They basically reskined and reset everything and called it content... And I haven't even mentioned the nerfs to characters, rewards, and equipment upgrades, as well as map requirement increases. I know Lilith is terrible, but honestly I didn't expect them to destroy their high quality remake so quickly. Unless they make SIGNIFICANT changes AS SOON AS POSSIBLE this game is not gonna last, just like Dislyte. Make it make sense, devs, and do better.

Gameplay is nice, but other aspects need work. This game has very high potential, but coming from a writer’s standpoint, I need to offer critique. Storytelling- The story is good! But it’s the way it’s told that is the issue. The story is very spoonfed, and leaves the player no chance to use their head, leaving a very dull experience. A lot of information given can in fact be inferred with context clues, rather than it being right there. The dialogue has the same issue, and leads to unrealistic and awkward interactions. For example, Atandra’s “I am Atandra, an exile.” No person would open with saying that they’re an exile. That is information someone tells you after a lot of interaction. Character design- The characters are cute, but I wish there were more body types and diversity. Sure, there are dark skinned characters like Atandra, but they’re portrayed in very skimpy, tribal clothing. If you added just one or three other dark skinned characters, things would be a little better. I also have issue with the grugglins being portrayed in tribes, which is often associated with natives and the stereotype that they’re “feral”. Voice acting- The voice acting is cute! But, sometimes the inflection makes things sound disingenuous and dull. All in all, the game has very good potential, and if those minor details were fixed, it would be so much better!

Beautiful Mobile Experience. I’ve played AFK Arena for quite some time but it never aligned with my play-style completely. AFK Journey provides a phenomenal story line, great gaming experience, with the diverse PvP/PvE options that I loved about AFK Arena. While I would not go so far as to say it’s impossible to win without paying, I will say that the price point for extra packages in-game runs fairly steep. As with any new, popular game, there are some performance issues that need to be ironed out, but nothing that doesn’t make playing the game worthwhile. The game is breathtaking and the gameplay was designed from a players perspective. The development team is also very involved, so problems are usually fixed quickly. If you’re on the fence about it, I recommend giving it a go.

Meh?. I wanted to give this game a shot after seeing how much was being put into it, but I was immediately put off by how there was an in game reward for going through with a full download. My experience was hurt from there. I like that they made a more complex battle system, but what does it matter when everything can be auto’d and it usually comes down to which number is bigger? While yes only having to level up 5 characters is nice, what’s the point of slowing down the upgrade rate to show off special skills when everyone else is automatically upgraded? What’s the point of an armor system when you effectively equip armor to a class concept and not a character? What’s the point of random fancier ult animations when all it does is slow you down if auto battling? My feelings are overall mixed, but while others might enjoy it just… don’t waste your money on it.

I loveeeee this game!. I absolutely adore this game and it’s not easy for games to even garner my attention! I think it’s really fun and challenging and don’t even get me started on the art style—it’s magical. However, like all things, it does have its flaws and isn’t perfect! Like overall world chats and servers aren’t monitored. (and if they are, it’s not very good!) I do wish there was a feature where we could see how many heroes we have out of the ones available or which ones we have and don’t have. I do think some aspects of this game are hard to understand and I’ve been playing since the day before it’s official release. There’s definitely tons of flaws but I hold a deep love for this game and I truly enjoy it. I just hope our voices are heard.

Not really an AFK game 😅. Th only thing afk is the fact that you can gain items/money/exp while off line. However EVERYTHING is a very in demand time spender. Guild activists, area games, timed events, and more require time to sit down for at least 1 hour to do something. I love this game but definitely didn’t expect to put in this much time everyday to keep up. Still this game is fun and additive so I don’t mind putting time into it it’s just unexpected for sure. Oohhh side note, I wanna know if y’all plan on doing something with people who have extra character bubbles (name is escaping me). Example, I have a Mystic+ Odie and have like 15 of his purple bubbles and same goes for a few of my guys. Is there a chance that someday in the future we can exchange them for new character bubbles?? It’s quite disappointing doing the draws and getting character I have fully leveled up.

Should be called “AFK Grinding”. “Starter Season” work does not transfer to the new season. All the work you put in at the beginning is archived into a “starter season” section and you have to start over, with all your characters reset to zero on level. The only thing that translates from season to season is character ascension level. This game gives new meaning to the term “grinding” -and get used to it, because if there is one thing you’ll do that’s never ending, it’s grinding. Over and over and over again, with each new season, be prepared to level up your characters *and* equipment from level 0! I can think of more entertaining ways of banging your head against a wall, like *literally* banging your head against a wall. This game was very fun and entertaining at the outset, and rapidly transitioned into nonstop, endless grinding. It’s a slap in the face coming to this game from AFK Arena and finishing the first season, and any fun I had after the now so-called “Starter Season” transitioned to the “Song of Strife” season has quickly diminished, the fun evaporating like a drop of water dripped onto an engine block after the engine’s been run hard through Phoenix in the middle of August. Very, very, very disappointed.

Don’t play this game. Beware.. The first season of the game was to get you hooked, very fast, rewardable progression with a few worthwhile bundles and battle pass. The second “season” can hardly be even called a season. Rewards and character nerfs discouraging players to even play the game. Imagine taking the time to focus on getting one character then for it to be nerfed in an afk game. The lighter more affordable purchases usually for light spenders and dolphins to keep up and be competitive have been reduced, making no incentive to purchase it. Progression is extremely slower as they plan for this major update to last for 4 months. Although, with these nerfs that that is a slap in the face to the community, I can expect this game to not live long after a few weeks. Overall it has or at least is becoming a game for whales and they cant even hire proper translators for the game. Would not recommend and you should spend your time and money elsewhere on a different gacha game. They try to rope you in with sunk cost fallacy so beware.

Amazing game with not-so-amazing bugs and glitches. I want to start off this review by stating that this game is absolutely amazing! I’ve had so much fun playing this game because of its gameplay, rewarding mechanics, exploration, music, and most importantly the AFK mechanic that allows me to progress in the game without having to put in too much effort at all times. I’m very busy, and so having the ability to let the game run on its own while I work on other things is super helpful so that when I DO return to the game, I don’t have to worry about so much grinding. This game is EASILY 5 stars, but my problem lies with the many glitches and bugs. I’m not sure if it’s the app itself or my phone just bugging out but I’ve recently as of May 14th noticed that the app never seems to run for very long before glitching out of the game on my phone. Whenever I try to go into the Dream Realm, the app shuts down and kicks me out and I have to start over again. There were a bunch of visual glitches I ran into as well and I have a lot of screenshots and screen recordings of the app not loading or working properly. I can’t enjoy the game if I can’t play it! And that’s unfortunately what has been happening lately. I REALLY want to give this game 5 stars, but the app just won’t load properly and I can’t fully enjoy this game because of it.

Amazing game. I downloaded this game while looking for a new mobile game to keep me entertained during finals. It has so many different battle modes, mini games on the app, and they just added fishing. The gacha mechanism is so interesting because it feels like it is on my side. In one of the gachas, I can choose which characters I recruit. I have been able to fully ascend the banner character without paying money. I don’t feel pressured to spend money nor do I think I need to in order to be good at the game, which makes me keep playing. Also, drawing multiples of the same character is good, which makes it very hard to be disappointed when pulling for characters. I am a huge fan of this game and I have spend NO MONEY!! I love it and I really hope it stays this way. Also feels like the developers really care about user experience, which makes me excited for each update. Huge fan, thank you to the developers.

Everything is excellent except the dragon crystals.. Put simply I love eve about this game except one thing. I’ve been playing since launch and I’ve so far spent very little. I would spend much more because I genuinely love this game but most things in the trolley (in game store) are only purchased with dragon crystals which can only be obtained by directly purchasing them. Unfortunately most of the items, especially the cosmetic items, that I would actually like to get are priced so ridiculously high that it simply can’t be justified. A simple blue recolor of a pair of bat wings that we can unlock for free in the Halloween event would cost 500 dragon crystals which would require me at minimum to spend 20 dollars and that item is relatively cheap as many items and packs cost thousands of dragon crystals. If the prices were lower I likely would have already spent hundreds of dollars (yea I know I’m an addict). But as things are the cost is simply unjustifiable for even the most basic items.

Fun game but imbalanced required resources. This game is very fun and addictive. I would give it a higher score but certain elements are still imbalanced making it impossible for F2P players. As a note I have purchased some in game packages. The developers have been listening to feedback and I give them props for that but one item still bottlenecks playing: temporal essence (the orange one). This is REQUIRED for character upgrades but there literally is no way to access this if one were purely F2P (the game gives some but mostly it requires paying to hope one gets in the Dream rankings to get it as a reward, but most of the higher rankings are from whales so it’s a catch-22). The game gives plenty of opportunities for the lower and higher essences but for some reason this one is literally impossible to acquire through normal game mechanics. The shop also doesn’t have balanced packages to acquire this; the cheapest package for ONE character costs $50+. This is ridiculous as there should be a way in game to get these items (albeit with a bit more challenge) or a decent option for paying. OR the dragon crystal shop portion should be a bit more balanced. My rating “increased” due to positive developer response to players’ feedback but is decreased due to the aforementioned imbalance. Should this be rectified I would likely give the game 4 or 5 stars.

Good, not great (chat not for kids). The game is easy to understand and play. It also has nice graphics and a decent storyline. Though, it also has its problems: preregistration reward wait time (154 days), game crashing (got worse recently), tons of pay to win players, hard to get purple powder (needed to level up max lvl), and hard to continue story (beating miasma/boss to get to next map). It’s okay in the beginning but it quickly gets harder and harder. Enemy lvls go up quick on each map and it’s hard to beat afk stages. Also, the chat rooms are awful- not only to they crash the game more but there are no moderators, so people say a lot of inappropriate stuff (keep your kids out of it). By that I mean people joking about rap3, CP, grooming, terrorist events, fat shaming, etc. Some of those people aren’t joking, most are but they are sick for joking about that stuff. Reporting basically does nothing but you can block people or switch chat rooms.

Good first impressions that hides a massive money sink. There’s a lot to like in the game, that other reviews cover fairly well. But after a week or two of play, the game becomes pretty blatant in how it wants to just extract money from you for every tiny bit of progression. Without spending money, character progression reaches such a slow rate that it can take many days just to see even the smallest increase in power. When you get past the first few ranks in PvP, the gulf in power between those who spend money vs those who spend very little to none is massive. The game will *kindly* inform you that you are falling behind in progression and that rewards will be greater until you are caught up. Except that requires you to beat content that your characters are incapable of beating. All this amounts to hitting a brick wall in the game very quickly. Dropping even a moderate amount of money provides a small jump in power, but the gains from this do not last long. This is typical of most mobile gacha games, to be sure. Just don’t be fooled by the early reviews and “all characters are free” advertising and think that this game is any different on that regard.

Not worth monetary investment. This game is f2p friendly to a fault. As a gatcha game it is highly encouraged not to spend right after starting . A few weeks into the game, the content dries up until the first season starts and the cycle repeats. The graphics are by far the best part imo...the story, well...most are in such a hurry to level up their player and heroes and that they skip all the dialogue. The few times I stopped to read what was going on, the story lacked depth and remains childish. Even when new heroes are introduced, it sounds like two children telling us a lackluster story and you have to watch 20 mins just to get to the screenshots to figure out what the new skills will be for the hero. As one who spent in the beginning of the game, the biggest downfall for spenders is that maximizing your heroes really has little impact on progression and overcoming f2p players who simply get their heroes to Supreme + and remain a constant competition in every event. You keep telling yourself that the investment will eventually pay off...it does not. Play the game and enjoy the competition, but it is highly recommended not to spend. Sadly there are few who spent $10-40K in the first few weeks to find out their investments really got them nowhere.

Fun game terrible performance. This game is poorly optimized for older devices. Takes over a second to register any input and freezes on every tap. Not to mention the number of crashes. It lacks snappiness and responsiveness. I feel like I’m constantly under water playing this game. Like the title says, fun game, when I’m able to play it. Please fix these issues! Also, stop forcing us to play Honor Duel to get weekly rewards (there isn’t a timer that tells you they are weekly, you just have to learn by missing your first rewards if you don’t participate the first week). Honor Duel should not be something you are compelled to complete due to fomo each week by spending half an hour every day waiting for screens to load. Edit: The developer responded via an apple email which is wonderful. However, when trying to find an email address to respond, I’ve been unsuccessful. I can’t seem to find an email address or formsite to submit the video of the lag issues or contact the developer. I’m assuming I can’t reply to the apple email that showed the developers comment. I don’t use other social medias, so I can’t reply via Facebook as suggested. If you could please send me an email address that I can send the video to.

The worst gatcha marketing I’ve seen in a minute. Game is fun up until the new season drops, they lure players in through promotion and generous rewards and get you to spend to support the game you like to play. Then season drops, progress is incredibly pay to win, rewards are at least halfed in almost all of the content. Bugs are everywhere and some text isn’t even translated into English and is still Chinese. And to top it off, balance changed to the bossing units you just spent the last 2 months investing so they no longer are viable for competing in the dream realm. Hesitant to quit as I’ve already spent money on the game, so sunk cost fallacy is there for many players who no longer wish to support this game. Complete spit in the face and 180 to the community. I encourage anyone else to leave a review and if quitting the game refund what you can legally and don’t look back. Lilith games killed dyslyte and they’ll kill this too after milking everyone.

Genshin Impact Storage. The game is very good, fun and lots to do. I like collecting the characters and exploring the world and having the option to AFK grind to get better equipment and level up, but there is one problem. I first got the game to play on my phone when I was bored and away from home and it was the best option I had. Until it needed an update for a new character. It was so much storage I had to delete my other games for space and after I deleted those games it still wasn’t enough storage. I had this problem before with my mom’s phone. My niece installed Genshin Impact on my mom’s phone and my PlayStation. I had to deleted it off my PlayStation because it took too much space. And before I knew it my mom’s poor broken phone was fried. I told my mom for my niece not to install Genshin Impact on anything. AFK Journey reminds me of Genshin Impact update-wise, so I saved my data from my phone to my computer. I wanted to play on my phone but I’m afraid that in later updates it could fry my phone too. Now I barely play it because I have better games to play on my computer. Not saying the game is bad but to me I would rather play it on my phone. Better to be safe than sorry..

Great game, meh voice acting. I love the game in general, the ambience, the music, and all of the visuals are amazing. The play style is fun, the battles are frequent, and the levelling system is quick. The characters have interesting designs and the backgrounds are lovely. The only thing I dislike about the game is the voices. The voices don’t feel right to me, and that could just be a me thing, but most of the voices, even the characters that are supposed to look and act more villainous seem to have softer voices. This could just be me being petty, but it’s my opinion. I’ve been playing for a while, and I love the game still, it’s just the hero essence. I don’t get nearly enough nearly as quickly as I feel like I should. I’m trying to level my characters and I have two of them to level 110 before I can even evolve the other three to 101.

Great Game. As far as the hero collector genre goes, some people love it, some hate it. If you are someone who enjoys it, try this out. The devs are really trusted in this space(they also made Dislyte and AFK arena). The game is well thought out, doesn’t push monetization down your throat, lots of care has been put into characters and story, as well as game balance and player experience. If you start playing and the characters remind you of someone from a different game, it’s because this studio has been copied a million times. Just their character Brutus has been ripped off in more games than I care to count. These guys are known for their character design and world building. Their games tend to be a lot more social and community focused as well, if you’re into that. Casual friendly too. All in all, the genre certainly isn’t perfect, but this studio’s games are always top tier in the genre.

Over-priced Pay to Win. Fun gameplay, beautiful visuals, mediocre storyline. Overall, very enjoyable game at first. Initially you will accelerate the storyline quickly, receive lots of freebies, and grow your heroes rapidly. However, within day four or five you’ll hit a wall. Progress will slow dramatically, freebies dry up, and it will take days of grinding to advance your heroes even slightly. The addict you to the growth and acceleration then yank it away so you’re more tempted to pay real money to keep the rapid acceleration going. Not a bad strategy and I typically don’t mind supporting devs for fun games. However, the packages are extremely overpriced. The $1-$10 packages get you very useless or limited returns. Only when you’re willing to pay $30-$50 do you start getting meaningful stuff. Even then, you’d need to purchase several to keep growing your hero base and to keep advancing the heroes you have. You could easily spend hundreds of dollars and still not get the heroes out advancement you want. Think about it… hundreds of dollars… for a mobile game. An otherwise stunning game, ruined by greed.

Disappointing. There are new glitches every day that force you to restart, constant crashing, and random Chinese text everywhere. This game feels like it shouldn't have been released this early. The voice lines can sound awkward and AI generated at times, Lyca's and Florabelle's being the most obvious. Their other games have decent to good voice acting so I have no idea why this is such a problem. The character customization is VERY limited with the few decent options only being availble to the top handful of whales. There are 4 skintones available, 2 are for humans and 2 are for cadavers. There are 4 hair colors to pick from for the few starting hairstyles, and the ones you unlock have no customization whatsoever. Your character's eyebrows will be bright yellow in every cutscene no matter what hair you choose. And despite AFK Arena/Journey's art style and character design otherwise being unique and interesting, our player character manages to look like a Disney background character. We might as well have just been made to choose between a few premade designs because it's impossible to make them look good. I understand that dressing up our character is not the focus and it shouldn't be, but I still have to constantly look at that ugly dude. Gameplay is decent and the gacha isn't that bad but the other issues make the game hard to enjoy.

Needs a few adjustments. The game is pretty fun, I enjoy the grind aspect and am excited to see new cosmetics and heroes in the future. There are some aspects that need attention like the voice acting/editing (I play with sound off but if I decided to play on pc I would be very annoyed) and some more accessibility options are needed, for example larger text options would be great. These are things I can understand since the game is so new but what I don’t understand is the lack of diversity in the character creator. I do feel like on release there should be more than two natural skin color options and a few more hair types. Other things I get can take a little time but I would like to see added in later such as more color options for hair and eyes, as well as different body types. If I do see some improvement in diversity I will gladly bring up my rating.

best game ever, but fyi lesbian. i love this game. disney quality graphics, voice actors, and musical score, and i would play it even if the gameplay was meh...but the gameplay is great! i do think parents should be warned and have a choice. so far, all love interests in the plot line are lesbian. (dont get me wrong, i dont mind that so many kids i know feel pressured to be gay, as that helps with overpopulation...but im also bi and im not a parent...). this game is definitely posturing to be a pride game...probably trying to win a niche award or something, since it is so blatant about it...but you have to get heavily invested in the plotline before you start seeing any romance, and even further invested before your realize...hey...that one was L and that one was L and that one was L... just fyi

Updates take forever. The gameplay is fun, it has an intriguing storyline, and there is always something to do, whether you play for the story or not. However, at least one of the updates legitimately took over an hour to complete. I play on my phone, so this was really annoying. And then when the seasons changed, they restarted all of my progress. My understanding is that they kept my spring progress and that I’d see it again if I waited a year. It was just really disheartening to see all of my hard work disappear. I may play for the story, but a lot of time and strategy went into my levels. They’ll do player surveys from time to time to make sure that the game’s going well, which is nice. The developers care about player input. Overall, it’s a fun game, but the little things kind of add up eventually

An overall great game. I’ve played AFK Arena for a few years now, I really enjoy the art style and the character designs. I was so hyped when they announced AFK Journey (I saw on TikTok). I’m really enjoying the game so far. It exceeds my expectations and is wonderfully designed for a mobile game. My only complaints is that I can’t move my character to a new server without creating a new player character. I found put yesterday that my sister also plays this game and I want to play with her. Unfortunately I’ve made too much progress in my main to restart. (I have a legendary Vala and an Elite Silvina) And I don’t want to risk losing them to start over. I know its not losing them but you get it. I am really hoping they have a way to change servers without starting over, or adding friends from other servers. I don’t even mind if we have to pay diamonds to swap servers I just want to play with my sister with my main character. Please help. At least think about it? Please 😭

Super cute + worth the wait !!. I’ve played the game for a little bit and I really enjoy it!! The style is unique and the characters are interesting with a nice variety. It’s super easy to collect the characters so very F2P friendly with lots of log in rewards to wish with. I really only have two complaints one being character customization. At the beginning you can pick what your characters looks like and you only have two body types that are basically the same for both male and female. Please add bigger bodied characters!! There’s only 4 skin tones and little hair variety add lighter and darker skin tones with hair like dreads and braids to have more inclusion. My second complaint would be the voices they sound kinda bored when they speak but also it’s grainy and glitchy. Overall though it’s a great game though would recommend!!

It keeps kicking me.. Hi! Don’t get me wrong, I hate that I have to give this game 3 stars, but I gotta be realistic. I have had a blast playing this and I got really good! The rewards are fulfilling, the gameplay’s a little slow but it’s fine, and the art is fantastic! I just can’t even enjoy my time in game without getting kicked out! I’ve done everything I can think of to make it work, but it won’t let me switch between seasons to get the properly leveled characters to fight with. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t do anything that requires a battle. I want to enjoy the game but it’s happened every single time I try to play any of your games and I was hoping that AFK Journey wouldn’t do this but I guess whatever y’all use to run the games just isn’t compatible with my phone. Thank you to anyone who reads this, it’s happened every time and I have had to give up on the other games because of this issue. Hopefully this gets fixed with AFK Journey at least.

Best AFK Game. They literally took all of the greatest things from AFK Arena, improved them, added some more content and gave us this master piece. For a game whose business concept is a money grab. This is THE BEST one to get. It has a story, amazing character with their fascinating art work, and getting a decent starting team is very simple. Definitely a game worth playing. After playing more of the story, I am loving the characters which is why I didn’t bring down to 3/5 but the AI voice acting needs improvement. The game is still incredibly enjoyable as a game, but unfortunately the story is hindered by the inconsistencies in AI voice acting. On some of the Characters like Damian it sounds very smooth, but with others like the guy with vine arms (Idr name atm) it very obviously AI voice acting and can remove the some the immersiveness. Enjoying the story but honestly just cause I do like the characters

Visually great with some brick walls lying ahead. I gotta say I’m loving this game visually with the game being vertical, I love the character and enjoying the story. However it gets to a point where to progress in the game you need to be in a higher level by completing afk runs to gain material to get xp. However I’m at a point where instead of progressing to the story I have to wait days for my hour of afk to get materials to level up so I can beat a certain lvl in the afk to progress in the story. It’s a bit tedious and now instead of playing actively I just wait till some days pass to collect the rewards and level up. However there are some other activities to do like, raid with guild or arena where you fight against other player or fight bosses but the story is where I’m more into. (Also can we get Eiorron in the arena store plz and thank you 🙂)

Review is for Support division. Yes this is a review on the pc version, this game will perfectly work well on this phone but this is still 100% at the support team. I downloaded the game 4 different times to support a friend and every time downloaded, I could barely play the game for more than 1-2 mins with 7 game crashes. So, I click on support button and no response, repeat, repeat, repeat. All it would say is conversation ended or nothing for the entire time. Worse part is its part of the game window, which means if your game crashes the support tab crashes as well. Their main webpage doesn't even a support section. Nothing, no community, no faqs, not even contact, literally nothing on main page! I thought maybe my last chance would be discord or other association, but no response or cannot find a moderator. Like games usually have a developer nearby or on standby, but it feels impossible. If this is the new standard of games now, then games shouldn't be made.

New season game crashes. Ever since the new season launched game crashes constantly. At least once every 10 minutes. Please fix, otherwise great game! Update, Fixed the crash issue although still crashes from time to time. Most importantly this game went from being and honest true RPG experience, to becoming pay to win PVP trash…I started playing this game from day 1 and got thru the game with all smiles and fulfillment. I loved the rich story and the characters and personalities filled me with joy and excitement to what was going to happen next!….unfortunately this new “season” has stressed me out and made me bitter and left a bad taste in my mouth of what’s to come….you have taken a good, rich, exciting experience and turned it into a pay to win butchery of epic proportions. I get better excitement out of playing old RPGs over again that I have beaten a hundred times over!….what a shame, I had high hopes for this game but like all else greed set in and this game has become more about PVP and RANK than about the gameplay experience. I’m a 30+ year veteran of RPG experience and while this started out absolutely amazing! It’s turned into a total disaster. I’m sorry DEVS but I will no longer be playing. Good luck.

Need laws put in place for gacha games. If your in America write to your senators and congressmen to see if we can get laws put in place. Like if they break the game after an update and crashes or freezes they have a week maybe two pushing it to fix it and if you redownload and still does it we get a full refund from the beginning of time the game was out. Then also include things like age limits, amount of money allowed to be spent on a game a month, how low rates are allowed to go like can’t go below 1-5% as many gacha games started to be like under a percent, even put in pity needed for other gacha games that don’t have it. Anyone who reads recent comments help spread the word. We need new laws put in place. Like if kids play a gambling game like a gacha when young and when they get older they mostly likely to have a gambling addiction and company’s like this play on that addiction and hope people get addicted and spend more money then they can afford. Possible scam!!!. Enjoyed this game initially until I started making some purchases. I bought 1480 dragon crystals. Never came into my account. I contacted apple support who stated to try again after refunding the amount. I logged back into my account to purchase the pack again. However I was negative 1480 crystals with a letter saying that due to scams I have to pay back 1480 crystals or else my account will be banned!?!? I contacted customer support who I think is AI tbh and they just said the same thing. CAUTION PLAYERS! Free to play for the win!

Localisation needs work. I took a couple screenshots; the game is a good game, and the art style is nice, but it’s a bit frustrating, and alienating, when you’re playing the story or part of the game, and a random passage, paragraph or quest appears in Chinese. I’m not Chinese. My language isn’t Chinese. I haven’t seen this kind of mistake in any of the other games I’ve played before. Please fix it soon

A few things. Firstly, this is a good, entertaining game, with a fair amount to do. It is beautiful, the characters are great, but I wish there was some way we could grind, as opposed to just waiting for our loot to build up. This would be helpful, and keep people playing longer throughout the day, plus add to the rpg feel of the game. Don’t get me wrong, the battles are good, it’s just there isn’t enough of them on the main map. I’ve also heard complaints that the purple powder is really difficult to come by, especially at higher levels, which is a little disappointing, as that could mean that a person is stuck in an area for days, until they get what they need to level up. While I don’t need the powder yet, levelling up characters takes a lot of time, which could be helped along by grinding. Also, occasionally, the touch sensor is off, making it difficult to get to where you want to go. Otherwise, I’m enjoying my experience.

Game freezes. Hey, I've been playing afk journey for a few months now, and I have to say I've been having a pleasant gaming experience. I like the story, the character and world design, the animations etc. unfortunately the latest update which includes the intricate of Lilly May has introduced a major problem for me. I play on an Iphone 14 and since the latest update my game has been continually freezing, i can hardly play it anymore :(. If you could fix the freezes as soon as you can that would make me very happy. Also on a side note, would you consider adding more ways of obtaining stellar crystals, i really like all the celestial and hypogean heroes and want ascend them all. Hm... I was really excited for this game to come out but the limited character customisation features, like the skin colour or even the body types. I can see a lot of mistakes with the voice acting lining up with the lines at the bottom, along with the voice acting sounding a bit off/dull/less effort. This company has made multiple games, especially popular ones that would’ve earned them a lot of money. So they could’ve used that for better voice acting and more customise features, because I find it hard to get into the story when the voice acting just sounds quite not good…

Never thought I’d rate a game. Great game and like that you can also play it on different devices like on PC or Mac. Hope for some more interesting heroes in the future but so far so good.

Disappointed. Was a big fan of this game and a daily player until the latest update. My game freezes 10 seconds after loading every time. I have restarted my device and repaired my app multiple times and it still keeps happening. I have now spent 2 hours in a queue waiting to chat to the in app player support, and despite the fact it said 10mins ago I was connected to someone there is still no response. Very disappointed. Maybe if I’d spent more in app money they’d be interested in helping

Hoping that guilds aren’t so important. The game is great but please don’t make the whole u have to join a guild to advance further thing cuz in every game that has Guilds its SO ANNOYING and seeing other players feels like it ruins it for me at least. If there’s a way to just enjoy the story and go solo this would be a amazing game that’s really all I have to say

Season 2 killed it for me 2.5/5. The cuts the amount of gameplay available on season two is appalling compared to season one shame on the developers for allowing greed to ruin something that was half decent. Top ranked player but not sure for how long.

Good game but seasons are the biggest letdown.. TLDR: You progress for a few months and then get reset and rinse and repeat your levels all over again. Good on paper but resetting progress is pretty annoying and disheartening to see hard work go just like that. Good: Finally an iPad landscape version, good clean graphics, creative character design, decent strategy, interesting landscapes, innovative game modes, devs listen to content creators, tech support actually help. Bad: Community died quickly from the early servers, story is straight out of ChatGPT (script was deemed AI on AI checker), localisation errors, game frequently crashes requiring a full reinstallation, terrible in game events like fishing or speed matching cards, VA were good and new ones don’t match the character vibe, very few promo codes, very little currency if you don’t spend, very expensive to get Cele/Hypo units. It’s a good game but the idea of seasons where you start from level 1 every 3 months with all your existing characters is disheartening and while it can be refreshing it’s also just not all that fun to think that from July to September’s progress will be wiped and you’ll just get a few summons and on your way to rinse and repeat for another few months. This model may be for some but I don’t see it as a fun thing.

Great game but some improvements on the mouth when in dialogue. I love the game so much but when im listening to the dialogue the mouth movement is that great it looks like there speaking gibberish lol. But overall the game is amazing! Great graphics, animations and cut scenes!

Perfect game to kill a time. I just finding some game to enjoy when i need to going to work and this game is absolutely suitable for me.

Decent but too competitive. I thiught this would be casual. Instead one must compete to be top of their server in order to get the resources to progress. Progression ground to a halt due to lack of dust to level up heros at the mountains AFK stage about 400. Competing in all the modes would take hours each day. Shame, because it is a beautiful game with an okay story. Though one can’t progress through the story due to level limits also.

Great game.. -needs a little change though. Look it’s a great game and all but your adds? The actors that are promoting it and stuff they don’t EVEN REMEMBER THE TEXT!!! Like if you get people to promote your games please at least find someone who actually remembers the words that don’t constantly turn around from the camera. Thanks

New update is the worst thing ever. I absolutely love this game but the new update freezes the game and now it crashes constantly. When this is fixed, 5 stars

Fun game, crashes too much. I actually really enjoy this game. I play across PC and mobile. PC seems to be much better in regards to smooth gameplay, as the mobile version on my iPhone seems to crash at least 3 times per day. I keep the game up to date and never run background apps, so no idea why it does this. On my iPad it runs significantly better, I just don’t really like playing on such a large touch screen. Apart from that it’s a great game and far less pushy in regards to in app purchases than its predecessor.

Needs work. Why do you have a skip button on the story but not the interminable battles that you have to sit through every day? Logging in to do your dailies is such a chore in this game, which is baffling considering you already have the very successful AFK Arena model to build on. Also the Dura’s Trial mode is horrible, PLEASE rework it.

Very good game but new update caused a bug. I love this game so much, the characters and world are cool and the gameplay is fun and easy to understand. However, after updating to the latest version, the game freezes about 10 seconds after fully loading and entering the game. I have made sure that it’s not a problem with my device (cleared out some space, larger games don’t do the same thing when I play on this device). Please fix this as soon as possible. I love this game, but this has caused me to be unable to play.

Game keeps crashing after the new seasons update. The game literally keeps crashing, the menus won’t load properly, the screen would be frozen and I’d have to close the game over and over again. At this stage it’s unplayable.

Game freezing since new update. I have an iPhone 15 and my game keeps freezing since I installed the update, I have been told to turn down some graphic settings but I can’t even make it to the setting screen please fix. Other than this issue I have been really enjoying this game

mixed feelings. It was incredibly fun as an f2p player in the beginning but as it progressed, PVP modes and rankings became more difficult to catch up on. There will be a point where you will hit a bump where you finish most of the PVE modes and it will take forever to upgrade your heroes, making you fall behind even further from the other players.

Pretty addictive and the visuals are solid. Just started playing and I enjoy the game visuals, UI and different rewards you get whether you play or AFK.

Decent game visually but glitchy and poor game mechanics. After the last update, 3.5Gb mind you, the game is completely unstable, even after downloading it again. Game crashes after selecting a few options or attempting to do daily events. Game is visually great, however the matchmaking and fight logic is completely flawed. Match up’s between groups fighting is broken. Very expensive if you’re considering pay to play. Fun for a month or so, but after that it’s just boring. Well it was until the update and the game became unplayable with the freezing and crashing

Addictive, but perhaps not for very long. My fears of becoming addicted to the game came true. I had asked support to delete my account after the first day, but was told that they didn't support account deletion. I have since found an account deletion option in the settings. The game itself might stop me playing it. My iPad Air 4 can only barely run the game at the lowest graphics settings. I like that the color palette for character skin tones is more diverse than for other Chinese games. I dislike that the game keeps trying to push me to spend money by making character improvement harder and harder. Although I think spending some money to support development is reasonable, I don't like the current predatory gacha model. Although AFKJ does provide a variety of different characters for free, none of the characters are going to be useful in the late game unless you get many more copies of the characters that you use. The game will be introducing an expansion in May but has set the expansion's power level entry requiremnt exceedingly high. I might end up just logging in each day to play "Honor Duel" - the only game mode that doesn't require you to increase the power level of your characters. Honor duel is an even playing field where people don't use their own collected characters.

Good but the gacha system is a bit too unfair. Coming from an afk arena player and avid gacha player. I have to say that needing 60 for a guaranteed s class on normal pull is a bit too high especially with the costs per 10 pull. I think it’s just me but I have been needing to go to the full 60 for the past 3 epic heroes which is abit unfair as you can get a guaranteed epic in 40 for the select banner? Which makes 0 sense. Please add some changes or atleast make it like afk arena with 30 for guaranteed

A shop interface without a sense of purpose. As a long-term AFK Arena player, I can definitely say that this game is inferior in almost every way. It’s mostly a selection of clickable shop items and pity rewards. The focus on story and graphics is executed in a way that is actually resulting in less than the sum of its parts -while it’s pretty, it’s also inconsequential and hasn’t resulted in a more engaging game: game sessions are too long, the economy is even more punishing, while offering none of the interesting meta choices of its predecessor, I tried to get into it for while and it turns out to be the least engaging mobile game I’ve played in awhile. There is nothing to do. I was rather surprised considering Liliths commitment to quality but I guess that’s also why the game is not doing as well. Really can’t recommend unless you want the worst of mid core games mix with the worst of casual games.

Great game!. So well thought out! The aesthetics are so pretty and makes the map fun to explore. You can opt out of fighting while walking around which is a huge plus. I play on a 5th gen which because of RAM issue likely does mean it crashes after battles sometimes but not nearly as often as some of the other rpgs I have played and it doesn't take up a lot of storage. Big props to the whole team because everything from aesthetics to UI and all the workings just mesh! Cute OCs! We will see what happens as I unlock more but so far it's working alright! Nice!

Great game but world chat is insane. The game is fantastic. I’m really enjoying playing it! But there definitely needs to be “trigger” words in world chats that get people automatically banned & deleted from the game. The world chat is crazy & I’ve seen a lot of sexual & disrespectful comments. Please put more rules in place for world chat. We need auto banning for certain words. Plus reporting someone 5 times a day isn’t enough. I reported 5 people in 20 seconds. The only downside to the game is that.

Decent but held back by greed.. Good game and reasonable gameplay but it might not last long as the general community seems to be strongly opposed the the Extremely overpriced in game transactions. I’m taking $150 for 30 pulls and a generic hero, that’s not at all worth it. I could buy another game with 100hours of gameplay for that value, but here that gets me maybe 10mins of dopamine as I look over my small increase to overall power. Publisher needs to value their products within the bounds of the game and not inflate the value of small non existent products for money, or this games going to be left with the few whales that are willing to waste cash on nothing.

Actually really really good. I initially downloaded this game because Markiplier was sponsored by these guys, but I’m honestly enjoying myself with this game. A lot of fun!

Great upgrade from Arena but buggy. This is a cool follow up from Arena as you get to know the lore of the characters a bit more and the battle system is more in depth. However, it is hard to enjoy the game when battle bugs mean you can’t progress in quests and some of your dialogue options are in another language. Hopefully a couple patches down the line I can come back and progress

Good but lacks content. So far the game is good and addicting, but now, there is no more thing to do when you’re on top of the rankings. You have to wait for the new season to come so you could do new quests that makes this game a bit dull and boring

So far so great. I loved AFK Arena, and this is just more content in the world I love. It still feels like Esperia, but more lore heavy. I love the new characters, and I can’t wait to see some of my favourites from the original added in (give me Silas, Baden, and Thane pls). Not to mention the game is amazing to look at. The art style is a perfect recreation of the original, while still being new and fresh and visually interesting. I love how much it’s adding to what I already know about this world.

You changed the VOice Actors.. Devastated.. 😭. Absolutely devastated I hate change plus the voice actors were perfect and now the ones you have changed there just mid sounding and uninteresting and make me annoyed tbh.. I don’t understand why some people had a whinge about the voices and it got changed sad to see considering they were the ones who needed to change themselves and attitude and not the game at all.. It’s been ruined for me now tbh I will have to mute it which saddens me because I always left it up loud and was so proud of the fact there were voice actors with voices that were different and unique.. sad world we live in when the changes are mostly the unique voices.. also u changed Thoran Noooooo! Why would u change it when it was awesome 😭Why is bunny guy gone 😭😭 I’m just devastated and therefore definitely not 5 stars from me anymore sadly unless this mess goes away and it’s back to the original 🤦‍♀️🙏

Style over substance. The art is beautiful and the combat is a decent mix of strategy and idle. That said, the amount of F2P fappery is ridiculous - millions of menus and currencies, constant notifications of new bundles to purchase, heaps of progression roadblocks, and overall confusing design decisions. The story is hackneyed and the voice acting really varies in quality. There is a great core game in here. But the economics get in the way.

Above Average. Very boring campaign. Fun enough combat. Nothing really for end game though. I log in, and do the few things available within about 15 minutes and and then there's nothing for me to do until tomorrow.

Very fun game.. Addictive and fun game. Quite similar in a lot of ways to HSR. I really like the character designs and the pull rates are quite good so I was rocking some nice characters after a day. Really like the afk aspect and the combat reminds me of Dota autochess and I really enjoy that.

My go to game for months. Don’t usually get so sucked into the mobile game loop for any longer than a month but here we are. Turn off background app refresh for now Big issue to address asap: background battery drain with latest update is very very bad. Absolutely destroyed my battery today at work, checked my settings, afk journey has eaten 53% battery in 24 hours . 28 mins active vs 21 hours in background. I didn’t set the game to do anything either.

Cannot play after latest update. Not only have all in game rewards become a fraction of what they were before the season started (in app purchases are also offering far less rewards), after updating the game today it crashes constantly. Unplayable, literally.

Overall a great game. This game is literally fun! However I noticed that there's only a limit of 30 members in the guild which makes the server very quiet and "dead". I would suggest to increase the limit to 100 like other games similar to this one. I would also suggest to create a "Research" section where you could add different types of technology savviness to increase a guild's member slots, increase heroes skills and such. That's all. Ty

The game is freezing. I love this game and have been playing for months. It has incredible art and graphics and everything looks and sounds perfect. Unfortunately, as of the latest update with Lily May I can’t play the game for more than 20 seconds without it freezing. I wish I could play but I can barely log in before I have to crash my game. I have restarted my countless times to no avail. I am on an iPhone 12 for reference.

New Season is Disappointing. Was loving the games release, played everyday for over a month. Put up with issues such as placeholder/untranslated text and ui bugs that would often crash my game. Spent a little bit of money (tbh the popups for bundles etc are quite excessive) and just managed to meet the requirements to play season 1 the day of launch. Very unhappy with the choice to reset most paths of progression/growth in the game for the sake of a new season. It’s bad game design. The new rewards and systems are very unsatisfactory. won’t pick up the game again, unless major changes are made. Bye AFK

Game good, support non existent. I’ve enjoyed the game until the last update. I’d give the game 5 stars if they responded to logging issues. That update hung a few times, requiring starting again, before it “worked”. It has been buggy ever since. Some parts of the game are now inaccessible, shuts down when Noble Tavern selected for example. Support within the game doesn’t respond. Found an email on an afk site, that hasn’t worked either. Cliched the App support here in the App Store, but that page has no support option! Limping along but I’ll give up if this gets no response.

Wild file size. I had previously given the game a very favourable review, as it is pretty good! But it seems like every week it gets a 1gb update and now takes up so much space i can’t play it anymore. I keep freeing up space, and it keeps demanding more every update. Until they can get the filesize undercontrol, Not worth the DL, unless you have a really big storage!

Last Update Freeze. I’ve been playing since launch and last update (august) makes my game freeze after 5 seconds in the game, In hollistone, i dont know if its the city or what, but i can’t play anymore. Im on iphone 13, if it helps.

Buggy & Pay to Win. The new update has wrecked the game for me. I can no longer collect my afk chest as each time I select it the game crashes. Other features are still in use but this is really screwing up my progress. Speaking of progress this game has way too much of a pay to win aspect. The pricing on things too is the highest I’ve seen on any game, don’t waste your money with in-game purchases.

Mid game bad service. TLDR: Game crashes often and support team doesn't care/ uninspired gameplay/ loaded with micro transactions. Saw it online several times, decided to check it out. The game crashes frequently and when going to support for help, they kinda just told me to get a better device. Checked my settings and settings told me that they were already optimized and my device shouldn't be struggling. Overall a bland game with nothing really interesting about it. This game asks for micro transactions more than a Roblox Tycoon does and gameplay is uninspiring.

I love this game!!. Its really good and i love the art/graphics! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because i think maybe there should be a bit more representation, it would be nice to have more than 4 skin tines and 2 body types if possible ! F2P more like P2W. Another pay to win game, they open 3 serves everyday if you want to be top player in your serves just pay lots of money, or you’ll be the bottom of the game. Basically everybody is serving the top20 players and if you don’t pay money, you will get stuck and never catch up.

The usual AFK. The usual P2W AFK type of game. The draw rate is horrible. And it requires way too many resources to upgrade your hero. You need to draw at least the same hero 10 times

No game is perfect, but this is close. I'm actually surprised at how good this game is. The graphics and art style are unusually good, there are many different ways to play, a massive amount of lore if you like a classic RPG journey, but you can also skip all that if you want to. Play with others, play on your own, play casual, play hardcore, play f2p or invest and get even more... whatever you want. I came here to post this review because it's so rare I find a game that I am so impressed with.

How have games gotten this bad. This game is showed in ads as a cool open world rpg but in reality it is a crappy linear gotcha game every thing in this game is boring, linear and should not be advertised as open world. I have also compared this to the old game seeing as how it’s advertised as a new experience but it is truly not it is just a top down landscape version with bad world design and crappy polishing with the same auto afk system and forgettable story seeing on how I forgot it.

Amazing game, but takes a lot of memory. This app is the most game of any app game I’ve played on my phone. Amazing art, fun mini games and leveling system, an ongoing story, and interactive development. However, because this game is so…fleshed out? It takes a lot of space on a mobile device, unfortunately so much space that I can’t install the game anymore. I wish I could get it on Steam or port it to pc, because I want to play it, but I just don’t have space for multiple 40 mb+ downloads :c

Horrible rolling system.. I tried this recently- i’m in love with games like hsr so this seemed up my alley. I could not have been more wrong. I started up and redeemed some codes- I didn’t get the 350 or whatever pulls that they advertised, and i lost 30 rolls because my screen would freeze and i had to close it- just to see i lost the 10- i tried to roll again, same thing. I tried a 3rd time but skipping, same thing happened. There should be a system to fix this, and i feel so bad for if someone spent money to find that their rolls were gone. Horrible design- and the story seems horrible paced, revealing the “Oh absurdly strong protag” in like 20 minutes in. Will not be touching this game with a 10 foot pole now unless i’m refunded the 30 rolls. To clarify how much i lost: i lost an unknown s and 3 a tiers. According to other comments- these are not generously given out (the roll things) so this is even more infuriating.

Rigged. If you don’t spend money, even in their “fair play” honour duel you will be steamrolled. Reporting.

Incredibly boring and p2w. Micro transactions crazy.. The rate of pulling a legendary is literally 0. And you need 3000 to pull in the limited rate up. 40 pulls guaranteed to get one, means 12000 diamonds for 1 legendary. And you will need 2 of the copies to ascend 1 to the next tier. Which makes no sense in 2024. Basically you will need at least 5 or 7 copies of any legendary to be able to play it. Otherwise they r trash. Its pay to win heavy game guys. Plus the art style isnt anything new in 2024, and the late stage of games looks like crab. Every 5 mission it will power cap you and you will have to afk 2 or 3 days to keep playing, or get you wallet ready. The story is boring and even the English in this game makes no sense.

Developer is killing the game with updates. Game was good until the developer decided to put out a big nerf on characters that people invested a lot of money into. They also greatly nerfed rewards in the new content so the only way to progress is by spending money.

Amazinggggg. Downloaded this just for the Jaiden animation collaboration but now I’m addicted lol very well made, beautiful animation and character design is gorgeous. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay to switch your name more than once but at least not with real money! Muy Bonita!

The newest update cut rewards by 2/3rds, effectively making the game impossible to play without spending hundreds of dollars - though even the players spending hundreds of dollars are feeling it as well.

Pay wall. You only get 1 week of pulls due to daily gifts. After that you hit the pay wall.

Ruining user experience. Very sad state of the game where after only a little more than one month of being launched you reduce significantly the amount of ressources that were available to progress into the game. You also nerf heroes that were heavily invested by players (even with money) trying to leave them useless. Such bad practices will only lead to a bad taste in the mouth of anyone who were trying to enjoy your game.

Awful. Between Devs randomly changing character stats, releasing updates that literally break the game (it just freezes and the solution is to delete and redownload) these guys don’t care about the essence of what a game is. They care about making money and that’s it. Well unfortunately it has to be fun to make money as indicated by your profits dropping like the player base. It was cool when it launched now it’s boring as hell and after several months nothing new has happened. I wouldn’t bother with this one

To read this review, please pay $4.99. What has mobile gaming become? I don’t remember it being this bad prior to pandemic. Do you want to see 5 different packs you can buy for 1000%-5000% bonuses? Do you want to see value of 3200% for your money? Do you want 2 different battle passes along with a progression battle pass and a growth battle pass? Then this game is perfect for you, just keep paying money and the game will autoplay for you. You don’t even need to move, just click on the map and it will automove for you. Besides the constant bombardment to buy stuff and the auto battle, what are you even doing? Big number go up, brain happy. Pay more money, see more numbers, brain mega happy. Be 3200% happier by giving them more money. There are plenty other games to try and you can do waaaaaay better with your money than this game lol. I wrote this review to make me want to quit and I will, the game is addicting if you don’t think too hard about it, but so is gambling and this is pretty much that.

Was hopeful until…. The game was great at first and i was having fun with the story and pleasing visuals. They nerfed the game, now is P2W. Since the start of the new season, everything feels so slow. It seems they nerfed everything from progression to rewards we get, F2P players like me have no chance to keep up with big spender's anymore. Pre season it was a 5 star game now I have to lower it to 1 star due to that wrong path they’re choosing to go with the game…

Greed wins the day again. Way to lure the player base in and then pull the rug out from under them. Malicious business practices abound in this new AFK instalment. This went from being so promising to a cash grab real fast with far less rewards for the same costs. Do yourselves a favour and spend your money on a game that’s not just trying to fleece their players as quickly as possible.

Current state of the game = greed and misdirection. Game was fun and exciting while it lasted. But it seems that after making millions of dollars off this game already, Lilith decided it was a perfect time to completely scale back rewards, nerf heroes, remove valuable resources from content that F2P players could easily access, reduce the value of bundles and just overall remove incentive from everything EXCEPT pulling out your wallet for any reasonable amount of progress. I was really enjoying this game, and I’ve spent over $100 on it because at the time I felt respected as a consumer and felt I could justify my support and get plenty out of it. But that is not the case anymore. Lilith put their greed on display to nuke the enjoyment and turn it into a wallet-based grindfest tailor-made for dolphins and whales over anybody else. It’s a shame.

Wow I’m impressed. This game is pretty great. It does an excellent job of balancing Idle gameplay and actual gameplay, which is quite tricky, many afk games amount to wait for number to get big.(grammatically incoherent sentence, sorry) The fact that a game this new goes this hard is very promising as it’s starting at a point of quality that many games can never reach. It’s fun to casually explore the world The battle grid layout is fun, pretty easy to grasp, and has depth (another tricky balance; adding depth while still making it approachable to new players) The art style is beautiful and the kind of style that is timeless. The music feels nostalgic, so it’s soothing The gotcha mechanics are there but in a way that doesn’t push the players to spend wads of cash or else no fun; but rather in a way that allows people who want to spend money to do so. Oh and there’s lore/story I am still early in it but I am eager to see where it goes. In conclusion the game bangs and it is still young

Im an active player. I’ve been playing this game for quite a while now to the point where I have maxed out my characters and there’s no more new land to discover and no new quests. they try to keep you busy with the random mini events that they do which most are kind of lame but my big issue is the fact that I woke up the other morning and started the game up and it said the game had been updated and I needed to restart the game. after doing so, anytime I turn on the game it’ll go to the regular part where you actually play the game and as soon as you click on anything, the game freezes and I have to turn it off and restart it just to have the same thing happen over and over and over again, please fix! Haven’t been able to play for several days.

Body customization is kinda pointless…. Look, I don’t expect it to be super detailed down to the point we get to decide how many freckles we have and where we put them- But there’s little to no difference between the body type A and B option. I understand that rigging and modeling is hard, and you’d likely have to remake a ton of assets…. But there needs to be a bigger contrast between the shoulders and/or hips being slightly wider. They should’ve just left out the body custom option all together and left it at facial features and outfits. Or at least make the difference’s more noticeable- Offer different body types similar to some of the characters that are in game maybe.

Text speed. I’ve really been enjoying the game so far. Graphics are beautiful, the story is interesting, and leveling up and gaining new characters is fairly easy. But the dialogue text bubbles that pop up between battles and cut scenes sometimes go by way too fast! I can never read the entire thing before it disappears! I tried to see if settings could be adjusted to slow it down or set it so text bubbles don’t disappear until tapped on, but there doesn’t seem to be any text settings aside from language. No dialogue history either. I enjoy games with in-depth story and characters, so it is frustrating knowing I’m missing out on some of it.

I want to love it, but…. The graphics are beautiful. The gameplay loop thus far has been fun. The characters are interesting. The fact that so much of it has actual voice acting is amazing. HOWEVER, the game overheats my phone and crashes about every 5-10 minutes. I am running on the lowest settings possible, and still can barely play. That’s not to mention that the game, when fully unpacked, takes up FIVE GIGS OF SPACE. If game devs could stop using PC-adjacent software as a benchmark for their PHONE GAME, that would be great. I would like to be able to actually play this PHONE game ON MY PHONE without singing my fingers or crashing every five minutes 😑 At the very least make the low-end options actually viable to use on older or lower-end devices.

Give your devs a raise. As a software engineer student I admire lilith’s devs. The devs don’t get the credit they deserve and usually ppl blame them for everything wrong with a game. Either way awesome job guys keep it up. For whoever decides the pricing in the stores you are insane. I’m vip 13 almost 14 and have given my support for this game truly. I honestly don’t see myself playing this game much longer. Seasonal reset is going to get old quick, pvp regular arena and then supreme arena, 1125 afk stages to climb and then it resets every season, also have to climb 4 other different factional towers, build seasonal artifacts, seasonal charms, seasonal gear and yada yada. It’s a chore and chores are boring. Meanwhile you want $100 for a chance to maybe get a copy from star gazer. Only good thing about your company is your devs.

Afk gatcha game. This game is amazing. I love it. Honestly, it’s great for what it is. An idle afk game. Sure you cap spend for power, but I love my progression and growth at the game. Sure it may take me longer to grow my characters because I’m not hitting too 100 in dream realm, but that doesn’t mean it’s not impossible. It’ll just take a couple more days to accumulate those tidal essences, to hit level 15 weapon. All in all great game. Good escapism from the real world. Having said that…. Is it 5 star worthy? No. Terrible English translation. Inability to reallocate resources to heroes they nerf. Most publishers for other games, would issue a refund of ingame currency , if there’s ever a drastic change for that hero. Terrible leadership/dev rug pull tactics for bundles. The in app secret travel lodge bundle preseason was great for $10. The same severe travel lodge bundle post season has 1/5 of the rewards and for the same $10. Both advertised as 3000% value, but that’s misleading. All in all, waiting to see what the devs… 1) will do to rectify their mistakes 2) how they plan to move forward with in game season rewards 3) if any meaningful compensation for players. Felt cute. Might uninstall later.

To be honest I like afk arena and here is why. So when I saw the advertisements for afk journey I knew I wanted to get as a fan of afk arena. Now the reason I liked afk arena so much was it’s characters and to be honest this game doesn’t have the variety that the other game had and the characters all kind of feel the same in some way. Now the characters do have good designs but I would hope they add more characters from afk arena lik tasi is one of my personal favorites or just other characters. In terms of gameplay if you are more into rpgs then yes this game has good rpg mechanics but that just isn’t my cup of tea. And I just want to say I know this game is still in its early stages of development and so Im trying not to be to harsh so keep up the good work devs 😊

The best mobile game I have ever played so far. I have gotten into mobile games since 2018, playing a lot of gotcha games, spending money on many. This is by far the best mobile game I have ever played. It doesn’t take too long to complete daily tasks, very user friendly, non-demanding plays. The devs really took time not to make mistakes of every gotcha games I have played. I am thankful I am not forced into gruesome gear farming. That alone is a game changer for me. I was so burned out from gear farming of every gotcha games. Awaken Chaos Era was by far the worst I have played. And AFK Journey is everything opposite.

Good game but disappointing new season. I really like this game for the most part, the story kept me interested and I found it’s fairly f2p friendly especially in the first season. The second season is really disappointing me however. I’ve seen a lot of reviews criticizing it because it resets your characters to level 1, but I don’t even mind that. What I do mind is the crazy increase in battle difficulty between the two seasons. I found leveling up my characters fairly easy and quick in the second season, I’ve got them all to about level 45 and yet I can’t beat level 27 bad guys no matter what combination of players I put out. It’s definitely making me not want to continue playing.

I’ve never seen a game go from great to horrible so quickly. The pre-season for AFK Journey was great. Cool art style, cool characters, the voice acting direction wasn’t amazing but still good enough. I felt like I was able to progress decently with enough diamond rewards and summons to keep me consistently engaged, but then they nerfed two very meta heroes with no notice(I had moderately invested in both of them, and while they’re both still good, this sets a bad precedent for the future and spending money on characters here) and the projected rewards for the upcoming season are abysmal when compared to existing rewards. Things looked great but in precisely one season they have lost faith. Will 100% uninstall if they don’t change future rewards and have more transparent communication regarding champion nerds as it feels pretty bad investing your limited resources into a character only to have it lose viability

Extremely Fun!. I’ve never been one to play games where you collect heroes and fight battles like this, I usually think it’s really boring and just not my style. This however? This one’s pretty fun. The storyline and lore is pretty interesting but I mostly play for the mini battles like the Dream Realm and Honor Duels. I love the character designs and how diverse every one is- though it would be nice to see a few more body types and people of color. In the end, it is a bit of a gacha game, but in general you can play the game without spending money on anything. There’s a few “spend $20 for a 6000% value pack!!!!” which is kinda irritating but if you just ignore it you’re all good. Overall, storyline, gameplay, and characters average out to an 8/10!

GREAT I LOVE IT, However. The game is amazing honestly, the visuals, the voice acting, the gameplay itself, it’s all in all pretty varied in the game modes too! That being said, it won’t load up anything now that the new update came out today even though it was just fine today. I’m going to try uninstalling and installing it again, see if that works but hopefully this will be resolved because I wanna keep playing this game! Keep up the great work devs, don’t feel rushed or pressured ✨ Edit: HUZZAH! It worked!! If anyone had a similar situation, it may work to reinstall the game. Good luck travelers! 🫂

Only 1 reason it’s not a 5 star. This game is so fun, I played afk arena in highschool and now this came out and I’m very happy with it. However the only thing that’s stopping it from being a 5 star is I can’t play with my friends. All this game needs is a way to swap servers and keep all my progress. I’m on afk stage 820 and my team consists of 4 supreme+ so I really can’t restart. It reminds me of when I played New world on the pc and I grinded to lvl 60 so fast but then realized I couldn’t switch servers to play with my friends unless I started over. If you guys could integrate a way to switch over and keep progress I’ll change my rating to a 5 star. Besides that everything is awesome and I’m very happy with the game.

Game keeps freezing up. I loved this game so much and have been playing it every day. However recently, ever since the most recent large update, my game keeps freezing up after I make an action in the game. So when I collect my afk rewards, the whole game freezes and I can’t do anything. I have to shut the game down. And it’s always the first action I take after opening the app. So I can’t play the game anymore. I DID update the game with the most recent update that said it helped to smooth out gameplay. But nothing has changed. So now I have to open the game, play one action, shut the game down again and then play another action. And it’s not fun the way.

Great polish and production, but…. This game has great polish and production value, but at its heart it’s still a gacha game that pits you against other players through daily damage rankings, arena rankings, tower clearances rankings, etc for better rewards. Like many games if this type there is a correlation between money spent and your rank because you can keep buying timegated resources to improve your heroes. But how about just the staying for the story? Well it’s gated so you have to get achievements and power up your heroes enough to continue it. It’s so banal, you’d probably have a hard time staying for it beyond 2 weeks. Nothing like making you lose interest in the story by forcing you to afk or buy more resources. It’s unfortunate, because the game isn’t compelling enough beyond its polished look, which lays bare the fact that its there to take peoples money.

Good pacing NO ADS. I recently got this game & have been enjoying it very well. I love the art it’s amazing you level up fast & progress fast and is easy to play. Also, there is no ads for a free game I recently went to go play my singing monsters after years and it was filled with ads and had slow pacing it takes almost a whole day to get two characters. Can’t say much about the story because I am a gameplay gamer I don’t care about stories or lore (Unless theres a video about lore) so I don’t know much about it so go look at the other ratings 😎👍🌑 Bye👋

Enjoyable and great self support options. For all complaining about the freezing after recent update, I had it too and it froze whenever trying any action. Used the in-game repair option, choosing the first repair which did not help, then the second one to reset all game resources. It worked perfectly and I’m using a pretty old iPad air. I still get random crashes that can get annoying but that could also be from the old hardware. The game is entertaining enough for me to deal with it. There is a lot of good content & effort here that was worth it for me to support with some purchases but haven’t felt like there was any paywall so far. Well done!

Emerson. well honestly this game has exceeded my expectations but the summoning system in my opinion needs work and not a fan of cause I’m not always guaranteed to get a legendary but only if your in your last 10 you do, in which that can be a bit irritating but then again gems are easy to find and get your hands on which is amazing nonetheless, everything from story,gameplay,equipment,upgrading,pvp,pve,progression, etc…are all just perfect, just perfect conditions, if your not playing this game then your missing out, plus you might as well try it and see for yourself, so yeah 5 star review

Needs landscape mode. I typically play on my iPad, which is a PitA because I have to remove it from my keyboard folio case due to the portrait-only orientation. Other than that, the gameplay, graphics, sound, and voices are all actually pretty good. There is a bit of grinding required, which is fairly tedious & wastes battery life. It would be nice if the app just pretended that the player was grinding while they were away, particularly for the AFK battles (since that’s what AFK actually is…), Dream Realm, Legend Trials, etc. Heck, I’d even be willing to pay a one-time, NOT MONTHLY, fee of ~$5 to unlock it. I’m sure that many players would, which would bring in far more money than the handful of whales who are actually buying up everything in the game.

just one little thing. The app is overall great and a whole bunch of fun and it’s addicting. But I’ll skip the complimentary part of majority of these reviews (because I agree with all of them, this app is amazing) and just skip to the little thing that is irritating me. 😖 The availability of watching cutscenes. I know there’s the ability to reenact dialogue scenes when you click the book below the mini map and click that button that says story recap and reenact the dialogues and possibly change them. But what did get me annoyed was not being able to see the cutscenes again like the first time you, Merlin, casts a spell because that was one of my favorite scenes or the seal scene with Cassadee 😭. Great game though. 😙

Crashes like Crazy. I've been playing the game probably for about a month or so. The game constantly crashes. I had thought that perhaps this is just because of the opening of the game, and it would eventually chill out. I was very wrong, in fact, I believe it's begun crash, and even more than when I started playing. On top of that, I have officially hit the point where I can no longer be a free player and have to buy items with real money in order to stay afloat in the game. I have not done so, and I probably will not do so, as I don't feel like this is a game with putting your money into. The art and storyline all seem great, I have no real complaints there, but advertising how easy it is to advance in the game and get all heroes were so greatly exaggerated.

Great Genshin Alternative. I used to love playing Genshin Impact (F2P), but the storylines got boring quickly, the rewards/ascensions were too difficult to obtain, and there was honestly too much content to understand when coming back from a playing break. AFK fixes those problems - the storyline is definitely similar to Genshin in some ways, but it’s still new and unique. The fighting mechanic in AFK is much more strategy based than fighting ability based, which I really like. The characters are cute and relatively easy (but still challenging) to build. Really excited about this game! My only negative would be that the graphics aren’t super sharp on ipad, but still a pretty world!

Wow. I’ve never experienced a game of this quality on mobile. It’s just mind blowing how far the technology has come to be able to produce a AAA level game. I especially like the UX that enables efficient macro management. It automates a lot of tedium. Great social aspects too. The game design encourages exploration of different types of content and meeting new people. I love how they place random real world people around the map that you can meet and battles encourage me to try all sorts of different character combinations. Last but not least the AFK features are so helpful when you have a multitasking life. It’s really great.

Lovely Game, randomly crashes. I do love this game. It’s beautiful. It’s fun. However, it randomly crashes for no reason, and it’s beginning to make me angry. I play games to relax and take my mind off of other issues in my life. This game is not relaxing if it’s crashing in the middle of something. I read a different review that said that they had taken care of the crashing problem. Apparently, that is incorrect. I don’t do Facebook, so I cannot reach out to them on Facebook, as was suggested in the previous persons review. I just recently updated to the most recent version, and it’s crashed twice in the last hour. Try again developers! I want to be able to play this game!

Great game! Wish I could keep playing. This game had such beautiful art, graphics, and animation. Lots of different battle modes, a quest filled story line, and exploring several maps so many different kinds of players can enjoy. I love this game and want to continue playing but since the latest update (I believe 5/14) I have been unable to even play. Anytime I load the app it completely crashes before I can do anything. I’ve contacted support but haven’t heard anything back. I was able to finally get in one time on 5/16 but was unable to collect rewards and play as the game/app just kept freezing. Would love to play again if they only resolved this major issue.

Addicted!!!. Lilith once again blows me away with their games- Second day since release, and I’m already absorbed in the world of AFK Journey. There are a few connections issues here and there, but that’s to be expected of an online game. My only wish is that more characters are added, and odds for unique, non-acorn characters be improved. LG’s biggest strengths have always been the character designs- I downloaded this game almost entirely based on the characters. The same was true for Dislyte, and LG always brings their A-Game. As with their past games, I’m sure the character list will increase exponentially. Really, this game has something for every gamer.

Decent One Month Game. Overall it’s a good game to play for maybe a month or two. I was very into it for that time, doing all the daily quests, researching to optimize my team, utilizing my resources to get the most “bang for the buck.” But then it became just that over and over again. Gameplay (3/5): Easy to play, difficult to excel. Unless you’re going to read every single characters move list, develop different teams for different situations and really grind out different team variations, the journey in ranking up gets repetitive and luck based. Story (1/5): I didn’t even finish the story bc it was so dragged out, boring, and campaign gameplay was so lackluster. Literally it’s just A to B walking and tapping through dialogue. The occasional “puzzles” were nice but the bar was set so low you end up looking forward to these elementary puzzles more than campaign development. Graphics (4/5): Amazing and original. While playing, you’ll love the attention to visual effects the game has through it’s characters and moves. In-Game Purchases (2/5): Really not necessary but I did buy their version of the “battle pass.” It got me a whole lot more resources but honestly didn’t improve my team building all that much nor did it improve my gameplay.

Had been willing to give it a chance, but honestly just disappointed.. I had pre-downloaded the game because I liked the lore and style of afk arena and was even looking forward to it. I was aware that the game encourages high spending, but I have enjoyed games like this while staying free-to-play in the past. Post launch it felt like things just kept getting worse, and this new season is just the nail in the coffin. For making so much money, the lack of effort put in is disgraceful. We still have heaps of untranslated text, truly terrible unmoderated server chats, and awful voice acting. I’ve tried to give this game a chance to improve, but its taken such a nosedive that I’m out, and I truly can’t recommend anyone download this game. I fortunately haven’t wasted any money, but this game has certainly wasted my time.

New Patch is a Slap in the Face. The game on release was great. Pretty to look at. Interesting story. Some of your favorite AFK Arena characters. Fun combat. Puzzles. Generous rewards. A real sense of progress. I liked it enough to start spending. However, the just released patch represents is a hard right turn into monetization. Rewards were needed across the board. The monthly battle pass rewards were essentially cut in half for the same price. Two heroes that many people had invested a lot of time and money in were heavily nerfed. We all know that the goal of these gacha games is to make money, but usually they wait longer than a month to screw over players. This feels like a patch that was designed and pushed by a bunch of bean counters who’ve never played a game in their lives. Not only am I no longer going to spend, I’ll probably drop the game entirely. Avoid.

All the things !!. I’ve been playing since release and i must say it’s a very exciting game. They made it so all characters are viable in the game and you have access to all of them. Equipment grinding is no longer a thing because they all share, tank set applies to all tanks etc.. I’ve never been one to listen to storylines but this one is pretty cool and the voices are great. My only gripe is the “honor duel” which seems very wonky. It’s rng based but the preset groups to choose from in the beginning will either get you absolutely destroyed or barely make it.. not sure but they should look into it. other than that i will be playing this for the rest of the year for sure.!!!!!

Hiiii. The game is amazing I think is absolutely positively awesome. I just would love if you guys added love interest. And it doesn’t have to be like a thing where you have to find someone to marry or something, but it would be nice if given the choice and it would be nice if it’s not a bunch of wifefu but more like equally in for the LGBTQ plus people maybe you can add something nfor them too. That would just be awesome in general I think it was just all around being really fun to explore that and I feel like you should have a full bit of an option for every character you give us well at least anyways have a wonderful day. Hopefully, you see my feedback.🥰

Pretty good so far. I started playing maybe half an hour or so ago, and i'm already liking it. I have a lot of gold characters and the treasures you get + the promo codes are really motivating for me. I will say that with the amount of stuff in the game you can do, it feels a little overwhelming for me, but the game makes it pretty easy to navigate around. The ads are really what made me finally cave in and download the game, and so far I’ve been enjoying it very much. Also, the game gives Genshin Impact vibes, which is a game that I’ve stopped playing but am fond of Hope to see more good stuff from this game, and I hope my opinion of it doesn’t change. ❤️

A great game.. almost. I’ve been playing this game for close to a month now and I truly enjoy the experience. The graphics are beautiful, the character designs are fun, and the story is intriguing. The massive problem I’ve been having since the most recent update however is crashing. Despite having my graphics on all the lowest settings, I’m still crashing mid battle and now can’t even access the arcane labyrinth because the effects are so heavy. This has been really negativity affecting my enjoyment, especially since things like the labyrinth are the only places to get the special invitations for the chance up gacha. My device isn’t that old and I’m not low on storage so there should be no reason for my device to be crashing like this. Unless this game is optimized, I’m unsure if I’ll be able to keep playing

Turned a fun fair game into a dumpster fire. If you’re thinking about trying this game save yourself some time and don’t. It used to be fun, fair and engaging enough for f2p and p2p all together. The newest update, they nerfed what didn’t need to be nerfed. They reduced the rewards you get from dailies and weeklies. The new “season” is locked behind the most absurd requirements for casual players that you would have to either break your wallet out or have no lifed the game since launch and got extremely lucky with pulls. The new content and season means nothing to the majority of their players and they cater only to whales and the spenders. Another promising game ruined by greed. Yes it’s a gatcha I get that. But there’s varying extremes to those types of games and they are already showing which direction they are heading. Save your time and your money. Go somewhere else

Decent Game But Too Much Timegating. First and foremost, the graphics, story, and character animations are all very good for a mobile game. However, after a couple days of gameplay, you’ll come to screeching halt in progression. As you level up your characters, you’ll need increasingly high levels of essence to do so. There is limited amount of essence you can obtain throughout the game and the only way to get more is to pay money. So essentially everything in the game is timegated (story, content, etc) and the only way to remove the time gate is to pay money. I’ve been playing since day 1 and I’m to the point where I can’t really do much. It takes 2-3 days to increase my characters levels and make any sort of meaningful progression.

Not so AFK Journey. Overall an attention grabbing game the story is well put together and engaging if you dont skip past it. They story mode has auto route but does not auto do everything for you you will still have to do somethings. Currently the game is saying to update yet the app store says the game is up to date. My only real complaint with the AFK journey is its too addicting and i have to wait til i complete waves to continue the story. Overall a great game and worth the time to play even if its a little here and there.... ITS FREE AND FULL OF CONTENT also IAP isnt shived down your throat so kudos to LILITH Games for having what all these other free game companies dont... Passion for the game and respect for the players

Chat Not Safe - Report Feature is a Joke. I was so excited to try this game and everything was going well until I started checking out the chat rooms. I noticed there was a lot of very harmful language and that no words were censored at all. There were even several folks bragging about how many times they have been reported for what they have said to others and that the reporting system was a joke. For a game that seems so polished I was shocked to see how awful the chat monitoring is. You would think that even basic curse words would be censored but no, apparently anything goes and sexual content, hate speech, and bullying is allowed. I was very disappointed. I would like to see this change ASAP. Please fix your reporting feature and put a basic word censor in your chats to keep people safe!

Stunning and Unique Fantasy RPG. AFK Journey is a stunning fantasy rpg! Out of all of the gatcha games I have played, this game is the most unique. The visuals and gameplay are very distinct and the storyline is interesting thus far. The open world co-op styled features are exactly what I was looking for and the vast exploration makes the world of Esperia feel alive. I managed to collect a wide variety of characters and obtain progress quickly! The rewards are abundant when you first start playing but I feel it slows later on. My interest has lessened. Yet, I always find myself coming back to play it each day to savor that bit of progress I get while AFK!!

If you’re thinking about trying this game, DON’T. I’m writing as a F2P. The drops from all areas (AFK levels, towers, drills, chests, noble paths etc) have decreased. It was already not possible to be competitive with spenders, which I get, but this is just ridiculous. The damage nerfs to some of the only characters that are F2P friendly just adds to the frustration. I’m not sure what the thought process was behind this, be it greed (as this game made 19million from mobile alone in the first ~month) or something else, but these decisions, and the fact that like half of the content wasn’t even properly translated, makes this seem like the devs did not think about the player when releasing this update. I’m willing to wait a bit longer to see if anything changes, but I WOULD NOT recommend this to new players anymore.

Audio issues. This game would be an easy 5 stars if I weren’t for the following issues: first, the audio is not intelligent and keeps playing even when I have music/podcasts from a different app playing. It should automatically turn off when external audio is playing and turn back on otherwise. Extremely bothersome to go into settings and change it each time. So, because I listen to music/podcasts often, I’ve just begrudgingly turned the game’s master volume off. But every time I exit the game, or lock my phone while on the game, it automatically pauses whatever I’m listening to. This weird auto pause also happens when first opening the game if it’s not already running in the background. Why??? Please fix.

Anther one. Update: So I erased my first review to give an updated one. I still feel the story line isn’t deep and the characters you are using don’t get much story at all, but my major complaint is that this is another pay to play. So far I’m still able to play and get along fine but if you get sucked in and really want to be strong or get the best characters then start spending that money people! I prefer games that make you grind to grow, and don’t take advantage of people’s addictive gaming nature. Now to the good points. This game does draw you in. I do find myself playing for quite awhile trying to upgrade characters, equipment, etc. The character designs are really cool. The world map design and music is nice also. I see why people like it, but I’ll be interested to see how things progress if you don’t spend money.

BE CAREFUL OF SERVERS. Were you looking forward to playing this game with friends? If yes, BE CAREFUL of what server you start the game on. The game does NOT warn you that servers are permanent and doesn’t even give you the option to pick which server you play on first launch- it’s a small, easily missable menu on the very first screen. If you pick a different server from your friends you will not be able to add them or join their guilds. After speaking with support over discord you also cannot be refunded for any purchases you make if you try and switch over to a new server. This feels predatory! No other mobile game has ever blocked me from adding friends that live in my region like this before. Will not be playing until this is addressed. I was excited for a month to play with friends and now I would have to lose hours of progress and IRL money to do that.

A Game You Can Play for 10 years I Promise U. I never write reviews on any mobile game I play but for the first time in my life I’m writing a review because this game truly is special, it’s a game I can see myself playing 10 years into the future without tiring of this game and the magic is in the afk feature as long as the developers keep putting out more story this game truly and I mean truly can become another Fortnite in its ability to have players return on a consistent basis. Try this game and play the story don’t skip it and I promise u, you will fall in love with this game and its progression to the point you don’t wanna put it down. Please take my review seriously and try it it’s amazing.

Good at first, then P2W. At the start this game was great, plenty to keep you busy and building your team, then day-by-day I kept ranking lower in every area of the game, I’m not even F2P. I spent a little on basic purchases, these pop-up limited time deals seemed really good, $0.99 - $4.99 then the prices went up to $9.99 and I stopped purchasing… probably why I kept ranking lower each and every day. I put Thorne on my wish list, but it kept giving me anything but him… then the daily activities turned into chores and I stopped playing. I’ve played plenty of Gatcha games and leveling-up 1 or 2 characters a day is not fun and I was left behind because I refused to pay the predatory pop-up rates. Don’t waste your time on this game. Response to Developer - Stop with the predatory pop-up “deals” and balance your characters, Cecia is busted, I’m going to go play a fun game like NIKKE.

Better on PC. On the all in all it’s a fun game, but on mobile this game is extremely crash prone. My phone is just over a years old and has zero problems running any other games or programs, but if I run AFK on anything above the lowest graphics setting it crashes every few mins…and even on the lowest graphics setting it still crashes once every other day or so. I also have the game on my laptop which runs it’s on high graphics with zero problems and it’s fun to play there; beautiful visuals, solid gameplay loop, fun characters, ok story. I respect that y’all tried to put a full PC quality game on mobile, but at the end of the day this game isn’t mobile friendly. If you are using anything less than a top end brand new phone, I wouldn’t not recommend that game on mobile but maybe give it a shot on PC.

Decent. Gameplay: For PvE pretty brain dead but I haven’t done any PvP yet. What it does do well is give you that monkey brain neuron boosting satisfaction when clearing waves. Story: Haven’t gotten that far can’t really say. What I will say is that surprisingly this game is fully voiced which has made me want to play it out of respect for a free mobile game that isn’t lazy. How will it hurt your wallet: So far the game has really been dishing out gems, I got 1000 for just filling out a survey. Plus you find tons through completing quests. Horny level: 5/10, we’ve seen the TikTok ads, the females are definitely well endowed. But it’s not a game I would be embarrassed to play in public, of course that depends on the person so see how you feel. Maybe avoid global chat though, English 12 I’m talking about you. Overall worth some time when you’re sitting alone with nothing else to do, or waiting somewhere or maybe you’re just bored. I’ve found myself going out of my way to play it sometimes. I’m not a big mobile game guy but this game surprised me with the amount of effort that was clearly put into it. Definitely worth a try at least.

Fix the latest Update!. Last UPDATE: I’ve been more than patient waiting for a response or patch to fix the issue, crickets. At least let me know if you are going to release an update. If not, I will seek all of my money back from Apple. UPDATE 2: Thank you for reaching out with suggestions for fixing the problem. However, everything you suggested did nothing to address the issues. UPDATE: You released an update, but problem still exists. Time to get my money refunded by Apple. As a consumer, I expect that when I spend money, the business will provide quality goods or services. I have enjoyed this game immensely until the latest update. Game freezes after a few seconds or just crashes. This jeopardizes guild participation, as well as your game playing streaks. It’s been a few days now, please fix it.

Boring and overhyped trash. The graphics and art style looked interesting, but the actual gameplay is full of slop. All you do is run around a meaningless and non-immersive “””open world””” that gets boring and repetitive. The story is pretty lame and uninteresting, so you will soon find yourself just skipping through all the slop. The actual “””gameplay””” itself is horrid and unimaginative. You put your units onto a grid and watch them fight. What makes it even more unintuitive? You can just turn on the auto button if you don’t feel like doing anything!🤪(amazing gameplay moment) Even if you do try to tap the skills yourself, it’s still enough to lull you to sleep! I can barely find it within me to even log into this bore-fest😒 This game is a prime example of what NOT to do when making a game!

Update Caused Game to Freeze. Ever since the latest update, every time I open the app and try to start playing, it freezes. I have attempted to collect rewards, but I don’t even know if I’m actually receiving anything because I can’t get the game to work for more than a few seconds. It’s like as soon as I actually try to do something in game, everything just freezes. Edit: I don’t remember when I originally posted this, but I think the problem has gotten worse? I wish someone would fix it because clearly, I’m not the only one having this problem. And there should be some compensation for not being able to collect any rewards or play the game in literally any capacity since at least August 7th if not earlier. I think it’s been an entire week, and support is non-existent.
