🤩Great but….. This game is a five star game I love it so much! But I accidentally clicked the button so I can’t name my dinosaur and now it’s not letting me name it so I’ll have to go all the way back and get a new egg and then click the a button just so I can name it. so maybe you could fix that so after you say you named it or you don’t want to name it you can go back and change that choice

Can’t load a save file from purchased game.. I purchased Monster Hunter Stories but saw this on apple arcade so I downloaded it. I didn’t bother playing it though as I could not load a backup save file from my purchased game. This ruins this option for someone like me, at least until I do a fresh play through.

Can’t load beginnings data. I’ve got several hours of monster hunter beginnings play time that should be loadable so I can skip a bit of storyline in this game, but when I try to load the backup, it says it can’t load it. Would happily give 5 stars if I find out I didn’t just waste several days of playtime. I’ve already sent in a tech support request, so hopefully someone gets to it soon. I really don’t want to go through the exp and item grinding I just did all over again. Update: just received a response from tech support saying that the upload perk isn’t available for the Apple Arcade version and then had the nerve to say it was only available for the *paid* version, like having Apple Arcade is free or something… lowering the star rating now. The only reason it’s getting even the one star is because the game is playable. Customer support is rude and the claim of it being the same as the $20 version is clearly and demonstratively false.

Great Game, more like please!. I didn’t know this was a 3DS game until I Googles the title after playing for several hours… No wonder I was hooked like nothing else in Apple Arcade! Wonderful game, charming and engaging. Combat is a ton of fun to learn; it is forgiving, but that does not take away from leaning the patterns for each creature. The store is fairly big standard, nothing special, but the world and creatures that inhabit these games are the stars of the show. I have not ran into any save bug… but it I have been very careful to look at the time played between my latest manual save and the auto save. The manual save is always highlighted when you boot the game, but that is NOT always your farthest save, always check the auto save slot before loading :) Definitely worth trying out!

Glitchy. I want to love it but the save and glitches are so annoying. It doesn’t have an auto save feature - you have to manually save at a save point; however, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I get a phone call while I’m playing, the fame crashes and I lost ALL progress. I hate it so much. It’s happened to me three times in the last few days and lost a decent amount of progress every time someone has called me. Doesn’t matter if I answer the phone call or not - it crashes.

It’s… ok. I really liked the add, and that is why I got the game, but the regulations were really strict. I think the quests should be easier, and I think that the game in general is really hard. I also think that the speech should be in English or any other language, even if it is in English at the bottom of the screen. I also don’t really like the fact that the game is in all anime. Over all I think the game is OK. 1 last thing. I don’t like the fact that when you ride your monster, it’s face always in on the ground, looking like the creature is having a really hard time. I also think there should be a way to get hearts back. Ok, now, I am really done. Bye!

Thought the game was great but…. The game for me was fun. Loved progressing through the game but there was no way to save. Got to level 10. Closed my phone because i had to do something, opens my phone up and i had to start over with getting my stone again. If there was a way to save the game whenever. I will give it 5 stars. Also, there is no way to “load” a game. I tried that and couldn’t

No controller support and poor save system. For people who want to airplay to the tv or a MacBook and play the game on a bigger screen or just want a better control scheme you’re out of luck because this version doesn’t support controllers. As others have said being a mobile game it needs an auto save system. If you get distracted by a text or phone call it can leave RAM and lose a lot of progress.

More games likes this please.. This is the perfect kind of game for iOS and Apple Arcade. Truly a full-fledged Turn-based monster training JRPG, that has great touch control integration and HOURs of content. Please bring more games reminiscent of the golden-age of handheld RPGs, like Pokémon, Golden Sun, Bravely Default, etc.

Unlike any cell phone game I’ve ever played. Felt the need to leave a review because I really don’t get into cell phone games. Usually play one for a week then dump it. I’m now 50 hours in this game and not slowing down. Never heard of this game before, must of missed it when it came out on the 3ds. Works fine with the phone, no issues with porting over. My one and only complaint is that I can never find a match in multiplayer. Guess not enough people are playing this, but they really should be!

Great game but…. Its definitely a great game but its missing a few things like an updated save format and backbone/bluetooth controller compatibility. If these could get added i genuinely believe it would be easily a 5 star game! If you can get past the saving format and are willing to play without a controller this game is worth playing!

Good game but lacks. The story, concept and controls are all great. However the lack of controller support really puts a hinder on this game. Playing on a phone is cool but trying to play it on any iPad is just dreadful. Hoping the support is added soon at which point I will re-review the game.

Love the game. So the game has no major issues as far as I can tell and also I find the game very enjoyable. The only issue I’ve run into, which is very small, I’ve been unable to find Poogie #27

I love this game!. This is perfect except the saving system. This game is awesome! But even though the save system is not good this game is one of my favorites! If you fix the saving system this will be my most favorite game! Thanks for reading capcom!

AMAZING. I’ve played Monster Hunter World Iceborn before and it was okay but this is a thousand times better! The characters, towns, and animation are awesome but fighting along side monsters is THE BEST! I want to complete it so I can play Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Entirely underrated.. I am rating this title FIVE whole stars simply because it deserves such a rating. Plainly put, this is one of the greatest, most engaging RPG titles I have ever played. The fact that I played through the entire game on my small iPhone is a testament to how far gaming has come. I’m super happy I discovered Apple Arcade, and I sincerely hope that Apple plans to pick up and release any sequels to this game. If so, I will DEFINITELY be buying. This is the nicest review I have ever written lol, trust me, this game is amazing. Especially if you enjoyed Pokémon. Kinda’ childish in the plot department but at the end of the day you’re slaying monsters so… There’s a trade off there. It’s cute, super fun and engaging. It kept me playing the whole way through and now I’m working on endgame stuff. Hope to see the second game up to play soon!

What makes this special?. So, I’d bought this game already and was intrigued when I heard it was coming to Apple Arcade because I figured there would be added features. Nope. There’s no “plus” to the + in the name, it’s just the same game, just on Apple Arcade. At the very least I would have loved controller support, and its lack of inclusion (especially on an Apple Arcade game and something that was ported from a handheld console) is baffling. But… my middling score only reflects on what it lacks as an Apple Arcade title, not on the gameplay and content of the game. It’s a great game, just could have been better in obvious ways (namely controller support) when it was brought to Apple Arcade.

Fun Game. I’ve really enjoyed playing this game. I have experienced a save glitch, where I lost my progress, but it was easy to get back. The one thing I wish it had was support for game controllers. Not sure it would help, but all the hours I’ve played this game holding onto my iPad has aggravated my tendonitis LOL

This is GREAT for a MH moba. I personally am in love with Monster Hunter World on xbox and i found this cute little game on apple arcade recently and ive already gotten 30 hours of gameplay out of it! Highly recommend if youre a fan of other MH games, gives you nice insight on the difference of riders and hunters and you get to have your own monster mounts too which is always fun. Navirou can be a lil annoying when looting caves but other than that i love this game and its been a great pastime, as well as being able to play offline. ⚔️🐲

Needs auto-save and controller support. Cute game, looks high quality, but you lose progress every time you switch out of the app, so I’m not going to bother playing it. I’ve already had to restart the opening sequence and create my character’s name three times. Not worth it. Controller support would be great, too; but it doesn’t have that as of writing.

No. Controller. Support.. Why? What the heck Capcom, man Apple come on. Make these guys at least do SOMETHING to a game if their going to port it to the arcade otherwise your letting companies use the arcade as a ‘phase 2 money maker’ after the games sales slip off on the normal store. Controller support exists on every single other platform this game is available on. Yet I cant install this on my apple tv and enjoy some monster hunting? Major let down. -.-

What is wrong with the graphics?. What is wrong with the graphic of this game? The rendering feel like pull straight from a PSP era game, or even worse. This is not about the cartoon style but what is wrong with the texture quality and lighting? With 4GB of download it is certainly not something we would expect to see. And did Capcom not realized that we have high ppl ‘retina’ display today? What’s with the resolution of intro video? At the very least, figure out how to render text clearly on display before you publish or even porting your old school rendering engine. I would strongly consider this sort of experience a direct insult to user.

Starting over again. Don’t get me wrong I love this game but I don’t like how the game puts me back where I have to fight Dan again that is the only complaint I have and I would really appreciate If you fixed it please and thank you

I enjoy the game, but the cat is annoying.. The game is very well made, I have and will spend hours playing it. However, the cat companion Navi is beyond annoying. Please add a way to turn off its random comments in gameplay, they are not needed. No substance is added through this cats comments. My biggest gripe is when you are collecting resources in a monster den and Navi comments telling you to hurry up and leave the den after every resource collected. Other than Navi being a completely useless and annoying character the game is entertaining. would be five stars if Navi was not in the game at all, and if the save system had a little polishing.

A little improvement. As a fan of the Monster hunter games I thoroughly enjoyed it though I wished more weapons were available and more species in an area and finally your montsies level is like an age so it can change appearance or just size but still deserving a 5 star rating. P.S the final is just a suggestion

Not bad. It’s a pretty good game, my main problem with it is that there’s no auto save. I went through the first part of the game 7 times because I had to go do something and I left the game, and after you get your first monster there’s the quest to get the egg, I did it and got back to town then left the game and it didn’t save anything, so I have to redo the quest again. It just makes the game feel un rewarding and annoying. The fighting mechanics are pretty good tho.

Good game, Bad save system. The game itself is great, a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it. However, I have just experienced the save glitch that I see a few others have dealt with. I am one of those people that pretty much hits a save point after every little thing because I’m super paranoid. So it was definitely frustrating to load the game and find out that I was set back quite a few saves actually 😖. If it’s something that ends up happening alot then it’s most definitely going to turn me off the game. I mean I spent some time leveling up these monsters and now the one that I need the most is all the way back to level one 🤦‍♀️. I couldn’t find a contact us button anywhere in the game to get any help. Just be warned, if you’re not going to want to deal with that, I can’t say how often it might happen.

A solid game with a poor save system. I knew of this games existence on the Nintendo 3DS, but wasn’t really interested in playing it at the time. I then picked this up on sale, and then proceeded to play through the whole thing after thinking it was gonna be a mediocre time. It’s pretty fun overall, and definitely exciting that it exists on arcade. There are more than a few annoying difficulty spikes, but like monster Hunter proper, it’s super satisfying once you figure out how to win the battle. The story is pretty dumb, but the game play is pretty good. It definitely was worth my time as a fun mobile game distraction. On a more negative note, the save system in this game is poor. It’s fine when you remember to save as saving at save points isn’t a new concept, but a better auto save REALLY needs to be implemented. As this is a mobile game and not a DS game anymore, there were more than a few times where I got distracted and put my phone down, forgetting to save. I’d then come back to the game, only to discover it got kicked out of RAM and that I’d lost a lot of progress. Please implement a proper autosave system so that fewer people run into this issue, cause it puts a damper on a really good game.

Monster Hunter Lite. This game is fun and approachable, but extremely slow paced (even after changing the dialogue and fighting speed settings to maximum). The problem is the controls are horrible on iOS. It would be nice if they ported an Apple Arcade version over to the AppleTV so I could sit back and play with a real controller. Playing for more than a half hour hurts my hands and back!

Best game ever. I love everything about the game and I think you could add like the type of weapon a reaper has, and I also hope you can make a arcade version for wings of ruin too!

I love it to bits but…!. Hello to who ever maybe reading this! I was reading the details of the newer version of Monster Hunter Stories when I saw the sentence “can only scan QR codes created for the plus edition”. Which seems very stupid ( no hard feelings to whomever is reading) this would mean recreating over 30+ codes which is very unlikely that someone would actually do this! So please either make a way for the use of the original codes or remove the feature. I played both the 3DS and non plus version so I really like this game and the QR exclusive items. If it is not possible that is understandable, I just wanted to say my thoughts!

Awesome Game!!!. The game is amazing and I know a lot of people are annoyed about the save system which in my opinion it’s not that bad, but there is one thing that annoys me which is when I’m in a den getting all the resources navirou will talk, but other than that it’s a really great game!

To All These Whiners. No controller support? Whatever. Stop crying. The original on the App Store didn’t have controller support either and was $20 bucks and here we have it for the price of $5 sub. It’s a great game, much better than on the 3DS. You want a controller? Play it on the 3DS, but even on that you had touch functions. Otherwise enjoy!

It’s a 3ds port. It’s a fun game and runs great on iPhone for a ds port. Gameplay didn’t stall out at any point and felt accessible. I probably wouldn’t have bothered to get out my ds to get this game but given the opportunity i enjoyed its twist on the monster catching formula. Overall this was an unexpected pleasure to get through Apple Arcade and I hope to see more like it in the future.

Best RPG I’ve played in awhile. Me and my 14 year old son love playing this game. There’s a lot to do and love the side quests!! Wish they would come up with updates that they could add more sub quests and monsters but I guess with all good things they eventually have to come to an end! On a positive note love the game hope to see more like this!

The Game’s Fine, But The Controls Are Nasty. So I got this after playing the demo of MH Stories 2 on the Nintendo Switch, obviously I didn’t expect it to be the same, but I at least wanted to be able to use a controller to play the first game in the Monster Hunter Stories series, but I looked around in the game and literally could not find a setting for that? Fortunately I have an Apple TV, I thought if I could find the game on there, then they will have to let me use a controller, and after searching for the game for about half an hour, I found that the game simply does not exist on the Apple TV?! By now I was frustrated, I tried to see if I could find a settings menu that maybe I missed the first time around so that maybe I could change the god-awful default controls, and there is literally NO SETTINGS MENU?!? HOW?! WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?!? There is no way to change any settings in the game, I know it sounds crazy, but if somehow missed it after deliberately searching everywhere for it, they need to make it easier to find. I hope I’m just being stupid and missed a settings menu, because I can’t stand using the weird touchscreen joysticks that drag the joysticks around if your finger goes too far away, it’s just so ridiculous…

WILD. Its been a hassle to find a true turn based rpg on mobile. Its all the same Gacha or hero collector. Ya know.. GARBAGE. Anyway, I was more than happy to come across this. Good simple controls and a full length story. Ported from the 3ds. However I am pretty bummed out that mobile doesn't get the Zelda dlc. Especially since it's only been released on one other device, sad it didn't get ported over. I hope in the future we also get MHS2! It would be super nice on higher end devices! Fingers crossed! Anyways, great game if you're looking to sink your time into something!

Deeply frustrating. It’s so close to being good. I’m thankful there’s a “full” rpg on Apple Arcade besides oceanhorn now, albeit with noticeably less effort put into art design, but the frustrating touch controls and constant double tapping went out of style years ago. To say nothing of the world’s most annoying companion cat, constantly interrupting with the same stupid prompts. As if pausing for battle prompts every two and a half seconds (if you remember to 3x the speed, that is) wasn’t bad enough, the over five-hour long tutorial stretch with carpet bombs of “tips”, and a practically nonexistent autosave (for a mobile game!!!) would lead a lesser man to put an iPhone 12 Pro Max-shaped hole in the wall.

Enjoyed the game but bad save issues. I was obsessed with this game from the moment I got it. I got quite a few hours of gameplay in and was doing good with money and levels. Then I take a day break and come back to find out none of that was saved. Super frustrating considering I remember seeing it being saved. Most of my progress is just gone. That is the most annoying thing ever and if it continues to happen I will be deleting it :/

This Apple! More Arcade titles like this!. There are a lot of great mobile ports from Square Enix, Capcom, and Indy devs. Bring over final fantasy classics and Dead Cells. This will make Arcade a very exciting and accessible platform. Feedback: Apple if there was anyway to incentivize Capcom to add controller support and Apple TV and Mac ports I really think that will further sell your ecosystem and the pitch for what Apple Arcade is.

An amazing game!!! 😍. Monster hunter stories is the best game I have played in a long time! I the story is amazing the monsters are very cool!! I love that you can now even ride them! I love this game and think it is amazing! This game has pretty good graphics I love everything about this game and I would recommend it!!!

Fun game with crash issues. I thoroughly enjoy this game and hope Stories 2 gets ported over as well. I only have two issues with this game, but they’re unfortunately significant for me. The game allows infrequent opportunities to save and auto save, but this wouldn’t be a big deal if I could reliably play without crashes. The game crashes every time I receive an inbound call, and the only way I can prevent that is by placing my phone on Do Not Disturb to block calls. This makes for a frustrating playing experience since I have to stay available for work. I’d probably rank this game 5 stars if it wasn’t for the crashing bug.

Backbone support?. I love this game and overall haven’t experienced any issues with it. Will there ever be controller support? I much prefer playing games with my fat thumbs not blocking the screen so controller support would be fantastic.

Best monster Hunter game of all time. Because it is so good for a mobile game in a 3DS game and I would highly recommend monster hunter stories 2 it is very good but I very highly recommend this one and get Apple Arcade because it’s a little bit cheaper to get the $20 one but great game out of all the monster games better than monster hunter Rise.

One of the best games on Apple Arcade!. This game is very good. The graphics are nice, Navirou is very cute, I actually kind of like the rhymes that the chief comes up with, but the best part by far is the monsties! Some of them are better than others, and some are cuter than others, but they are definitely the best part of the game!

Impressive. For thoes of you who aren't aware, this was originally a 3DS title, I think it's pretty impressive that they were able to port a game with 2 screen game play to a phone. I think all the negative reviews don't really get that this was a 3DS game before a mobile one. Is it the best port? No, but it's pretty dang good.

Sooo I bought all version of this game. After buying all version of this game for iPhone 12 Pro Max and still having multiple saving issues and losing a lot of data and over 5 hours of play time I will be quitting this game and highly recommend that you don’t buy or play this game. It has potential but is done very poorly and lazily.

Save data always lost. I’m a very casual gamer, maybe a couple of days a month at most. So I’ve opened up this game three different times and played for about an hour each time. Each time I opened it, I had to start a new game, because my save data went missing. The first two times, I had barely started, so oh well, but now I opened it up for the third time, and I assumed that it must be there, but no, only the option to start a new game again. Well *%?& me once, shame on you, twice, shame on me, but three times and this app is deleted.

Great 3DS Port. I’ve always loved MHS and I already beat it on the 3DS. I was thrilled when I heard it coming out on here and I’m now happily replaying it on an iPad. The graphics are much better and overall it’s a great port. I highly recommend!

Good but buggy. It’s a very good game it just is very buggy but it is very fun I just feel like it shouldn’t be 3gb. It’s supposed to look realistic when you walk threw grass but it just looks like your walking in the map and at least the cutscenes look realistic. That’s all I have to say.

Better than most Games. This game is very fun to play but (and I see this in all the other reviews) it has no controller support which is very hard to believe for a game like this. Otherwise I definitely recommend this game for its great game mechanics.

Amazing title to get out of a 5.99/month subscription…. … but it also showcases something that people using this service may have not anticipated. This title is available on Apple Arcade but not everywhere. It is not downloadable on Apple tvOS and/or MacOS. Only iOS. I don’t know if that’s the first title like that but I hadn’t encountered that before this title.

Boring. Was looking forward to this game, ended up being boring. Did not feel like a monster hunter game. No controller support which was weird considering how easy it is to add, not to mention most games are play tested with controllers for ease of play. Overall, I would not recommend.

Game doesn’t save. Have to start a new game every time I play. Loses my character and all progress.

Ganes does save so frustrating. This is the 5th time I play the game make some progress come back and I have to literally start over it is not saving the game. It is debilitating.

Home car is annoying. All these years and you still let the home bar pop up each time you tap the screen. It’s very distracting on a phone and I refuse to play it

Doesn’t start downloading?. Well I was so excited about this game but since launch at Apple Arcade it doesn’t start, I click on it on “get” no progress? So I’m not sure who’s fault it is but once I’m able to download and play, I’ll change the review.

Almost Perfect. Please, please, please add controller support. I love the Backbone controller and if I could use it in this game it would be amazing. I loved this game on the 3ds and if I had it on the go with my controller it would be perfect.

Love the game buuuuut. Always loved this game, but it needs controller support. Playing with the touch controls takes away from the gameplay experience.

I Just Can’t With This!. Look you cannot heal your monstie when you are not in battle in that basically makes it impossible to kill any monster so please edit that really I think we all need it. -MasterDragonSuperstar 😸✌️

Suggestion for releasing monsties. Maybe the really unique monsties you release, you can re encounter them in the wild and use their eggs to make even more unique monsties

Save systems the same as the other Monster Hunter games. Doesn’t work as well on mobile, but for ppl that have played MH it’s kinda pretty normal

I really like it. This is the second day I’ve played the game and I’ve made it pretty far in it so far so good I really have enjoyed it i’ll easily give it a four star rating

No controller support, still. I purchased this game outside of arcade a couple months back. Found out there was no controller support. Seeing this branded with “+” gave me hope that they would actually add controller support but nope. I’m not sure what is so + about this release looks like the exact same game.

Unfair rider battle. I only have one thing to say can you please fix the rider battle on Dan quest because when I lost I did it again and it spawned me in with one heart and I got Dan to one heart but he had three

Saving is AWFUL. Game is really good and a lot of fun actually but the SAVING is just so terrible, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost progress because the games saves are just so bad, like the autosaves don’t even work or do anything

Difficult to load. I’ve already spent a good 15 minutes waiting for it to download and then when it acts like it does it just restarts the game looks really fun and I’d love to play it if it would just load

Good game but…. I like this game and I play it a lot but… The saving section of the game is a little wonky so you could add a manual save too, than I would play this game much more.

Controller support please. Even though I’m a huge Monster Hunter fan, I have no interest in this game whatsoever if I have to use the touchscreen instead of a controller. Frankly I’d rather just play in on the 3DS than use garbage touchscreen-only controls.

Controller Support. This game needs controller support and an Apple TV app. It would make gameplay a lot easier and all the best RPGs have it. I was legitimately surprised this one didn’t because it seems so basic for a high quality game.
