Mobile App Great But…. I enjoy the daily challenge of 3 different kinds of puzzles, especially the ice breaker. I have this app on both my home computer and phone. The squares on the phone version are a bit small resulting in mistakes and the “notes” numbers on the phone are so tiny they’re almost unreadable even with reading glasses. Otherwise, fun app!

I refuse to play this any more. I can live with the bugs and irritations in this game, but as of today I'm refusing to play it any more because I find the obligatory ads to be highly offensive. I get that I'm required to watch an occasional ad because I haven't subscribed to a premium membership or whatever, but I detest watching cartoon people being tortured or killed as part of some supposedly "cute" and "fun" game. Closing and reopening the game just keeps giving me the same offensive ad, never a different and less-offensive ad. Today's required ad seems to be a cartoon king drowning in a room filling up with water while he's chained to the floor by his feet. The idea that children are watching these ads, playing these games, and being taught that it's hilarious to watch someone being drowned in a bondage situation is positively frightening.

GranMaster changes original setup. Several times have ended up in a dead lock (multiple solutions). Worse, some times, when undoing all the way to a re-start, NEW numbers are added to the original!. [please] Add - the option to re-start the same set up. - also, correct the UNDO to restore notes deleted (automatic delete notes option) by the moves being undone. That is, restore previously deleted by the move being undone. Else, player is unaware and game becomes UNSOLVABLE! Thank you ... else 5 stars may be due. ************ (Not sure the above review was SENT a while back) This Microsoft Casual Games implementation of Sudoku is almost the best: intuitive and easy to play in both desktop (Windows) or cell phone (iPhone IOS) modes ... but ... I use hearing aids and even with the sound up or down to nothing, the game interferes and filters my hearing in IOS. Killing the game restores hearing aids sounds. [Please] Add an OFF SOUND switch to free hearing (or blue tooth?) connections in the game app.

Excellent game with great ambient music!. Since I got rid of my Windows phone and tablet a while back, I've missed this game. While it's not the exact experience, I certainly like it much better than other sudoku options in the App Store. I love the daily challenges! And the background music is perfect, providing ambiance, but not distracting to such a thinker of a game. Thanks, Microsoft Casual Games Team!

The ads are driving me crazy. I really enjoy this game. I like how it's played and the options available. But the ads... You are forced to watch full commercial length ads for stupid games I'll never play. Sometimes the ad won't start until you press a play button. Almost every ad won't just end. You have to press a link to load the app store listing for the game, then close it, and then wait even longer before you can finally close the ad. Lately, I've been having ads freeze locking the game. I then have to close everything and watch another stupid ad before I can play. I'm done and deleting this app.

DON't BOTHER. I have had the premium subscription for a few years, but the loud ads for other games got so bad I deleted the app. My subscription just renewed earlier this month but to heck with them. I would gladly lose the money to avoid these horrible ads that take over the screen and force the player to wait until Microsoft deigned to show an "x" to allow my to turn it off. I thought subscribing meant no ads. BOY WAS I WRONG.

Microsoft Sudoku is an excellent challenge.. As a long time fan of Sudoku puzzles, I find MS Sudoku to provide an excellent platform to learn for beginners and the different difficulty levels keep even the hardened Sudoku solver challenged. The ice breaker game in the daily challenge is a refreshing perspective on the puzzle. Seemingly simple at first, the strategy to smash the ice without running out of plays give an inter twist to this old puzzle game.

A mediocre Sudoku challenge. There’s potential here for the app to be great but it misses the mark in a couple of critical areas. One, there’s no apparent way to update candidates. Removing candidates from a cell is part of the process for moving to solving the puzzle. One could use a piece of paper to track this, but then why not just play a printed puzzle. Second, the difficulty of the puzzles are somewhat laughable. I do expect the easiest level to be easy and for beginners, but the grandmaster difficulty should require more advanced techniques than hunting pointing pairs and hidden triples.

Love the game but. I love the game, but every time an ad comes on, it plays full-blast audio - despite having all audio and music settings turned off and having my phone on silent mode. This is frustrating when I accidentally wake up my spouse when I’m playing a late night game. Fix this. It’s akin to TV commercial coming on with full volume. It’s just bad experience.

My favorite!. I love all of Microsoft’s games! They’re casual, fun, relaxing and entertaining. They have such an easy flow about them that makes them addicting and so much better than all the other versions! This version of Sudoku is great for beginners and experts alike. Sudoku is one of my favorite games to play, both digitally and the old-school pen-and-paper version. This is, without a doubt, my favorite digital version/app for this game. I can’t get enough of it and never get tired of playing it. Microsoft hits it out of the park with all four of their “casual games” they have. If you love Sudoku, you’ll love this app!

Great, but record keeping poor. I love this game, especially the new ice breaker version. However, when playing it on my PC, the record keeping is unstable. Several times I have opened it to play the daily challenge and found that several challenges that I had previously completed were now listed as incomplete. Further, OS updates will wipe out the cumulative score. In late Oct/early Nov, I was past level 114, Grandmaster +, and an OS update dropped me back to level 0. Very frustrating!

Relentless ads ruin game. Loved this until the ad frequency recently ramped up to literally every other game… I get it, it’s a free app, but 90% are way too long for how much they pop up AND some aren’t mutable, even if your phone is on silent, and to top it off the Royal Match ad (which is the most frequent) will sometimes just play on an endless loop until you close the app or it crashes your phone… then you try 6 more times with the same result, but it will eventually let you play, but who has time for that? I’m very disappointed, uninstalling

THE BEST free Sudoku App! (And I’ve tried many.). The graphics and higher contrast make this Sudoku grid easier on the eyes than most. You can even change it to dark mode - white numbers on a black background - in the settings. Great for anyone with lower vision! Another fun feature is that you can tap a number in the keypad, then indicate whether you want it to be a small note or a full size number in the Sudoku grid, as in other Sudoku games. But, in this game, once this is done, you can just touch all of the cells in the grid in which you want to make that number or note appear - without having to go back to the keypad. It’s a great timesaver, which I think makes playing this Sudoku game more fun than most. Thanks, Microsoft!ahhh,

Daily Challenge bug. This is just a tiny quibble, the countdown to perfect in the daily challenge goes from 6 to 3 to 0 challenges left even though you still have challenges left.

Game itself is great but can’t silence sound from ads. The actual game is really good but sound still plays from ads even when sound settings are set to off. Sound settings should apply to every part of the game including ads. You can’t purchase the game to get rid of ads. You can only subscribe monthly or yearly. I would purchase the game for a one time fee to get rid of ads but I am not interested in subscriptions. I ended up deleting the app.

Pathetic exploitation of consumers. Microsoft Sudoku might be my favorite implementation of Sudoku on the iPad - the trouble is getting to the game, which is why this is a one-star review, which is frankly one star too many. I would happily pay a one-time fee for this game, but the only payment options are for a pay-forever subscription, which is difficult to justify for a game like this. So then there are the ads. It is one thing to have us wait through the better part of a minute for it to play out, followed by an additional counter. We don’t even get the benefit of an ‘X’ at the end to exit out for most of them. We get a redirect right out of the app to try to exploit us into paying a subscription for another app. This is a security problem. Are we supposed to trust a company that puts us through this? I am ashamed on behalf of Microsoft for abusing their customers like this.

Very long ads!. There are 3-4 countdowns in each ad, as they try to shove the product down your throat. Video plays, then they ask you to play the game in the ad, then another wait to download the product app, then an App Store pop-up … each time one has to wait… The X to close the ad is narrow… if you miss the pixel, you are in another trap. Other apps/games don’t do this. They play the video and leave you alone. VERY PUSHY ADS.

Finally!. I never imagined how hard it would be to find a Sudoku app that doesn't immediately tell you when you've made a mistake or constantly show a timer (both options if you want them). This app has everything I want: clean UI, toggles for all the quality of life options, no ads, extra game modes available but not pushed. Now that I know how hard it is, I'm never letting this one go.

Microsoft sudoku. Great app!!!! I love irregular puzzles! What I don’t love is being stuck in that stupid ad for Fishdom and can’t get out of it when I try to load Master or Grandmaster!!!! And when I went back in to load Expert which I just finished playing, I had the same thing happen. Stuck in Fishdom. Please fix it!! I’d sure like to give 5 stars but this is unacceptable!

Good sudoku but ads are intrusive. I've gotten the same Royal Match ads over and over again between games. They all play audio which pauses my background music. If that isn't enough, the ad also hijacks the device play/pause buttons meaning I have to switch back and forth to the app playing my music in order to resume it while the ad plays out. It's enough to completely ruin the game experience to the point where I would rather delete the app and be done with it than pay a penny to remove ads.

Aggravating design flaw. Careful! This version of sudoku nicks you if you even accidentally brush your finger on a square with the wrong number highlighted. But even worse: if you’re in Notes mode and you tap outside the grid, EVEN UNINTENTIONALLY, this version deselects any selected square, any selected number, AND TAKES YOU OUT OF NOTES MODE. Thus, if you don’t notice and you tap a square and a number expecting to write a note, and it’s not the right number, you get nicked. 99% of my non-perfect games are due to this unsafe design decision. Otherwise, hands down the best rendition of sudoku out there.

Excessive greed and privacy violations prevents it from getting five stars.. As a sudoku app, Microsoft’s works great. It gives you flexibility to mark the way you want, whether you work a puzzle box by box or number by number. The daily challenges are quick but pleasant ways to play daily. Thanks to iOS 14, it reveals that every time you open or switch to the app, it copies your clipboard. Nowhere in the app is a reason to paste data, so it is clear the app is stealing your clipboard data. This is very concerning. In addition to this, the ad free costs are too high for my taste. I prefer one time ad free purchases. In lieu of that, if I were able to get all the Microsoft games ad free on all platforms for the cost they offer, I would be willing to pay that. But as of right now, it’s about $10/yr for each game and each platform. Too high.

Broken!!!. I’ve Been playing the paid version of this game for a while on three different devices using the same Microsoft login. I’ve been doing that with solitaire for years and the account was always correct. With Sudoku, Initially, The level never synched up across the three machines. Then it started losing track of the daily challenge games I played, saying I didn’t play them on one machine even though I finished them on another. This was all while logged in. Then a few days ago, my “level” info was lost and I dropped from nearly 200 down to 1. It keeps track of all of my awards correctly on each machine though....wired. Now, i cant get the game to load at all on any of the three devices (2 iPads and an iPhone). The game just spins at the initial start up page. And never gets to the menu. Too bad. Fun game when it works but losing my history is inexcusable. I’m done.

Ads are increasingly manipulative. I do not begrudge any business to not “give it away for free”, and I do not mind watching the 6 second ads. However, I am deeply offended by the attempt to force me to wait 9999 seconds while a game tries to manipulate me into downloading it. Just imagine how much damage such a strategy could do to senior citizens or anyone else who might be less savvy … or, is that your goal?

Much improved over the previous version. I enjoy sudoku, but thought the Microsoft version was too easy. The difficult puzzles are more difficult than before and the easy puzzles are still easy enough for novices.

Like the game but needs more UI work for iPad Pro. The game play is nice and has some challenge to it. What I absolutely do not like is that the game will not rotate. I use my iPad in landscape about 90% of the time because of my external keyboard. Even if I’m in prorate it will not rotate which is a pain when it is charging. I like my charge to be at the top, not the bottom so the cord is not kinked. Fix the rotation issue and I’ll review again.

Another Great Casual Game from Microsoft. This game is the best of its class! A great combination of board design and intuitive gameplay. Gone are the days of thumb fatigue from enter notes. I like that the number controls show the count of remaining entries in the upper right corner and that it becomes disabled when all entries are complete. My only request is that these visual cues could continue when entering “Notes” mode. All-in-all, another home run from Microsoft Casual Games.

Ads play sound when phone sound is switched off!. I’ve always had a little beef that on Microsoft games you’ve had to turn the hardware sound switch off to silence the ads as the games sound controls don’t do that, a real pain anyway as it is so easy to forget to turn the ringer back on! But in my first few days of playing this, that isn’t enough!! Sound starts playing on the Royal game ads with the switch off and the speaker silence button is jammed so far into the corner it’s hard to hit. This make this game hard to play while in bed with a sleeping partner! ( or in a meeting LOL) At least this game ad doesn’t have loud startling sound like some on MS Solitare (so far).

I want to give 5 stars, but.... The game is good, challenging puzzles, and I enjoy the daily challenges and achievements that can be earned. I understand the ads, and can deal with them. However, when my phone is in silent mode, THE ADS SHOULD BE TOO. I have never experienced this issue, where ads appear in full volume when my phone is in silent mode on any other app. Very embarrassing when sitting in the middle of a waiting room, etc. Really??!??

Needs landscape mode. I love this app, but I really wish it had a landscape mode for when I’m using my iPad. Hoping others will provide the same feedback so we can get that feature one day!

Great But Could Be Better!. I love playing Sudoku during my free time, and while I play Microsoft Sudoku on Windows, I was ecstatic to see it’s also on the iOS store. So I downloaded it on my iPad. However, I was disappointed that this does not support the Apple Pen so I can write the numbers instead. I completely understand not everyone plays on the iPad, but having Apple Pen support would be a plus! If the Devs decide to add Apple Pen support, this would be the best Sudoku app ever!

No Landscape Mode??. With its best-in-class design and special effects plus an ad-free option that's actually affordable, Microsoft Sudoku should be my favorite. But I'm disappointed that it lacks support for landscape tablet mode. You can actually force it to landscape on a Samsung tablet but not on iPad. As a result, I've canceled my ad-free subscription and have found another Sudoku game that is not as nice, but at least has tablet support (landscape mode).

The worst for ads. Even that I have paid for the ads free version and it shows in my profile with the ads disabled icon, it keeps once ina while at random forcing me to see ads. Lately it’s doing it every other time I load the app. Worse it runs a timer and loud volume even when the phone is in silent. Then it has a timer counter then runs a second add then forces another 6 seconds before it shows the x button. Almost 90 seconds before it releases the app Awful!!!!

Too many long ads. I get it that you want people to buy the ad free version but give us a break on the Royal Match ads. In fact, Royal Match is the only ad that plays on this game. Literally a long Royal Match ad between every puzzle makes this Soduko almost unplayable. Not only that, but these ads also freeze the app requiring to close the app and reopen. Other than that, this is a great Soduko game. I just wish I didn’t have to find another that isn’t so annoying on the ad piece.

Thank you apple for working with Xbox. I will make my transition away from google and Microsoft easier, I refuse to have a gmail account in order to download Microsoft products. That’s why I switched to Apple in the 1st place, thanks to google play the makers of the windows phone. You now have a new apple user.

Fun Game...but. This is really a great version of Sudoku. I like that there are different versions besides the classic version. I also like the daily challenges and the dark version. But, really, this is a Microsoft game and it doesn’t change orientation? I play on an iPad so maybe that is the reason, but it is very annoying that such a simple thing is missing.

Stopped working. A great app until a few weeks ago when it seemed to suddenly lose track of the challenges I finished and then wouldn’t load at all. I tried deleting and reloading the app to no effect. I see that it has happened to others as well. I can only hope that it gets fixed soon.

Ads play sounds regardless of silent mode. I would like it except I can’t play it all the time because ads play sound even when my phone is on silent mode. I have sounds turned off for the entire app and my phone is on silent… but ads like for the walking dead app come blaring out out of my phone… which is awkward since I would like to use this to pass the time while waiting for things like my doctor appointments or class to start….

The ads are getting too long.. I understand that ads will support the program but lately hitting X to move on simply means starting another ad timer and the another and another. As much as I enjoy the mental challenge, as soon as I post this review I’m deleting the app and will look for a different one.

Micromafia Strikes Again (Stop playing until they fix this people). First: no, Microsoft, you do NOT need revenue from these games. Second, the one reason to open this app daily is broken. Fix it. 6 months ago. No excuse other than you’re just taking money and not reinvesting it back in. Third, subs to one of these games should apply across platforms. Period. Dot. Send. Four, if I have my phone on silent, SHUT YOUR AD SOUND OFF. No, your ads do not trump my phone settings. Ever. Five, don’t tell me you have an ad-free option. See point 1. Six, see point 2? Until you fix it, don’t respond. Seven, I stick to what I said on your FB page in March. Until you fix point 2, I will not play your game. I was on it daily for months before.

A nice lunch time distraction. First off, I’ve used this app for over a year and have no major complaints. They offer an array of sudokus from easy to expert level. I’ve made the daily challenges a part of lunch routine. You never know what level of difficulty you’ll get. One issue- it’s not working on my iPad. The game freezes after one of the ads. Closing the app and reinstalling it didn’t work. It could simply be its updated for the newest iOS. If you can fix that it would get 5 stars.

Audio in ads ignores silent mode and plays anyway. Game music does not play when my iPad is set to silent ringer, which is great. One problem… ads have audio play anyway. Nothing more awkward then an ad playing loudly when you’re in a public place. Also the app tends to have endless loading screens occasionally when left in RAM too long. Force quitting the app will result in several moves not being saved to the cloud, and NOT detecting a differing local save upon start up (the only work around is to let it unload from RAM again without force quitting, i.e open several other apps until forcing swap memory usage). Just a strange and annoying bug.

I used to like it. I used to play every day, and I loved the different modes. But for the last couple of months my progress on the daily challenge is gone the next day. Why bother with the daily challenge if the game doesn’t retain your progress from day to day? I’ll come back when that bug is fixed. I also wish there were ice breakers for regular play, not just in the daily challenge.

Time zone bug. Love the game however if you finish the daily challenges right after midnight in one time zone if you travel to a different time zone for example back home after being on a vacation it shows those daily challenges were not done. This glitch used to occur in the Microsoft solitaire game with daily challenges too but that team fixed the glitch a year or two ago but the bug still remains in this game. Otherwise I do enjoy playing

Love this, but…... The ads in this game have become so incredibly annoying that I am considering deleting even though it s one of my favorites. The Royal match game ads take anywhere from 4-6 times pressing the skip or X to get out of. It won’t go away until you do so. Same with the monopoly and wood block games. I will never even try these games because of that. I may even like them, but too bad your ads are too much. The sudoku game is fine. Like it plenty.

Excellent Games but graphics could improve. I’m new to Microsoft Sudoku, but my first impression is great games but lacking in graphics. For example, playing Sudoku I selected a square only to get an error because I did not see that that column was already taken by a default even though there was a gray background using dark mode, my eyes did not pick it up. Happened several times. Not a big issue, but contrast could be better. Using contrasting colors in dark mode as an option would be nice.

Great Mind Sharpening Game. I’m totally addicted! At first I wanted to be perfect & not worry about the time then I started worrying about the time. I think the right way to play starting off is to strive for perfection & as you go along the patterns start forming so then you get faster & faster all the time.

So easy to click the wrong thing. I love Sudoku! But it is so easy to get mixed up on whether you are typing a note or actually entering an answer. Please consider adding a second line at the bottom of numbers - one for notes and one for answers. Overall, this is a great app with lots of variety to keep you entertained for hours!

Fun but needs landscape mode. I really enjoy this game, and play the daily challenges every day. Having irregular shaped puzzles and the option to play with shapes instead of numbers adds a nice twist on the classic game. I use the same login on my laptop, phone, and iPad, and appreciate that all sync seamlessly. One frustration I have is that the game only supports portrait mode. My iPad only has a stand that supports it in landscape mode, and most apps work without issue. Sadly this app does not, and that is why I gave it four instead of five stars.

One of the best Sudoku games but ads are unacceptable. I really like how Microsoft implemented the Sudoku game, it’s much better than many other versions (e. g. the New York Times). But, the way ads are presented in this app is totally unacceptable, especially for a world class company like Microsoft. A company like Microsoft should not allow questionable advertisers deceive and confuse their customers. I am very surprised how Microsoft damages their own reputation by offering such an app.

Loving this suduko. But can we have some events like the solitaire program?

Inappropriate adds. I understand that in order to use this app you have to let the ads run. I don’t have a problem with that but I do have a problem ads for gambling that have just turned up in front of my 9 year old. That is not good.

Layout. Is it possible to have it in landscape format fr the iPad, please?

Good, but. The prevalence of ads and a subscription service to remove them ruins the whole experience. I’ve found that deleting the app once I get to level 10 and reinstalling it will remove the video ads, but I’ve had to do this so many times and it’s annoying every time. Having to pay a subscription for sudoku without 30 second long ads is ridiculous and greedy. Other than that, the app is great and supersedes several other alternatives on the App Store features-wise.

To many ads!!!!. I love the game, but seriously, only 2 games & then an ad….every time!

Great game but only a subscription!. It is a great game, pity that you cannot enjoy it without having to pay regularly, why not a one off payment option?

Frustration. Nearly every time I try to access this the Fishdom ad goes into a loop and I spend minutes trying to stop it.

Sudoku. Microsoft Sudoku is a well-written game with many good features. It presents the numbers well and it’s simple to insert candidates. It could benefit from the use of colours to more easily highlight numbers. For example, when the number 2 is selected, highlighting all squares with a 2 in yellow. This would make them easier to spot especially when playing in high brightness situations. It would also be nice to be able to highlight all pairs in colour to help with X-wing, XY wing and XYZ. Solving using colours would also make more complex puzzles easier. I have noticed that sound comes on even when I’ve switched it off in parameters. This is very frustrating.

Login to Live Account breaks this app. I’ve been playing as Guest -Level 42! Then app says to login to your Microsoft account. So I did. It find my MS account then starts the app at the tutorial! And the tutorial is broken! It wants you to complete the row which I do but it’s completely frozen. Only way to get out is to delete the app. Bye bye to my 42 levels! Impossible to get support. Lost in the Xbox live circular references to help. So unhappy. But great gameplay love the challenges and the irregular / ice block puzzles.

Sudoku not loading. Have the same problems as pedwards9898....worked 2 days ago now just hangs in loading screen

So Dissatisfied. It has now been 3 months and still will not save challenges . Very very poor programmers not being able to fix this app.

Is no longer saving progress for daily challenges. Has stopped saving challenge updates for about a week now. Update: I received an email from the developer stating that this issue was initially raised 3 months ago and that a fix was anticipated in early 2021. So a company like Microsoft takes over 3 months to resolve an issue? Note that the progress seems to save okay when I launch the game from my Windows 10 pc. Issue from my experience is limited to access via iPhone and iPad.

Stupid adds. The allowance of in app ads by dream games ltd detracts from this app. They dream games persistently try and trick you into installing their app by launching the store install when you touch next -| or X exit icon then repeat when you close the store, eventually they give up and let you pass. Honestly they should behave like other advertisers show you their add then let you move on aka turning the page.

Pretty good but let down by no landscape mode support in iPadOS. Pretty good implementation but why no landscape support in iPadOS like the Solitaire game by MICROSOFT has? Please add then review will go to 5 stars. 🙂

Badges past level 100. Leading up to level 100 it was such a fun little thing I would look forward to each morning to get an add on to the progress badge and it brought joy deep within my heart to see the animal (won’t name it and ruin it for everyone) it became. Now I’m well past level 100 it saddens me to see a generic matrix like panel as I progress through the levels. Please please make another cutesy creature for me to work towards again 😢 it will bring you great satisfaction to help me. Thank you in advance.

It won’t load up. I have tried a number of times to open it and it no longer opens

Worst Ads. The ads for TikTok are insufferable. Autoplayed with full volume and almost blew out my Bluetooth speaker. As an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber I feel I shouldn’t even get ads in Microsoft casual games. Fun game though, shame it’s ruined like that. The banner ads are tolerable. Unskippable loud videos are not acceptable.

Supposedly family game (rated 4+) shows casino ads. Why is this game showing advertisements for online casinos???

Doctor told me so. Mentally my mind has nothing to do so my doctor said do something to keep the mind alive. So, each day I play 3 games and I feel it after each game, it’s like a headache but it ain’t, it’s training the brain. Great for keeping the mind mentally occupied.

Relentless Adverts. You get 1 star because you’ve taken a great game and ruined it with relentless adverts. I get the advert-free-play model - but a 30secs ad between every game is beyond annoying and is borderline extortion. Very disappointed that an outfit like Microsoft has to resort to these kind of cheap tricks to get subscribers.

Nice design, shame about the long ads. Very nice design, but the same, 30 second ad after every game? Ridiculous and annoying. No way in hell am I ever going to click on it.

Old eyes. I played one game at the grandmaster level, which wasn’t very difficult. Hopefully they would get more difficult. The biggest problem and I would never subscribe to the app. For one reason I can barely see the numbers let alone the notes and none of the views change that.

Great app, needs better themes. This app is a great sudoku. The daily challenges are an excellent way to start a day. The new dark mode, however, is really lacking. Developers: dark mode serves a purpose. It’s meant to provide a rich, vibrant experience, but with dark colors in the background. This is also to help people who are using it late at night or early in the morning and don’t want blaring white/blue light in their eyes. Great that you “listened and added dark mode,” but not great that you missed the point. All this is, is a high contrast version that’s mostly black. The UI is barely discernible, and the irregular layout has lost all of its rich colors in favour of just black. That’s not what dark mode means. Keep the colors and the richness... just change the bright white elements to dark (that doesn’t just mean black... it means dark), so that it’s easy on the eyes.

Terminal Ads. Full screen ad never ended. Otherwise great game.

Grandmaster was too easy. 15 minutes to finish their toughest puzzle difficulty. No hints used.

Horrible UI design, not possible to close ad covering whole screen. Impossible to close the ad on ipod. No way to play because the ad covers whole screen and close button is not visible. Horrible UI design.

Unable to save progress. I really enjoy the challenges of the games. Have been playing Microsoft Solitaire for years and been saving challenges. I enjoy the challenges as well as going back and seeing my progress and challenge wins. Someone should be able to fix this issue.

Watch out when you subscribe. I subscribed to remove the ads for a month, but now it doesn’t save my progress. I completed at least a quarter of the daily challenges in a day, and now I go to log in the next day, and it’s as if I didn’t do any at all.

Nice interface and interesting game. The best part is I don’t need to be connected to the internet for this to work. My new go to game in the subway

No landscape mode for iPad ?. Would be nice for the app to rotate between landscape and portrait mode. But it does not. Ugh

Lazy Updates. Here it is February 8th and they still haven’t loaded the February Challenges… not for the first time either!

Ruined by intrusive ads. This is a nice, intuitive sudoku game with ads for Fishdom that force you to open the App Store. Why would you do this? Nobody wants this. It’s like hornets at a bbq.

Progress isn’t saving or syncing.. Previously played games do not save, and games do not sync across devices. Have seen numerous others complain about same issues. Very frustrating.

Worked well until last update. The app ran pretty well, got 825/1000G on Xbox Live, then the mid-July update that introduce Dark Mode broke my Xbox « save », where now I am stuck in the tutorial on the single row to complete without any way of progressing. This persist across multiple platforms and resintalls.

Addictive. Challenging, fun, good variety, love playing, hard to stop! Must try!

Disappointed. Really discouraged as every day I log in and it still lost my games completed. Microsoft please get on the ball and correct the bugs in the program. Really not happy with having to redo the sudoku games that have been already completed.

Good & bad. Cons: Crashes on iOS 14.1, and inhibits the task switcher. Pros: Nice interface and enjoyable to play (when it works)

Okay but…. Long uninterruptible multilevel ad’s with always ON audio (regardless of game settings) and no way to interrupt . Okay but seen better with less fuss and ads. Interesting daily challenges with some good higher level challenges.

ADS!!!!. I have ads playing in the background even though I have music and SFX volume both turned off. Very annoying!!!!! Will be uninstalling this for this reason

Painfully slow. This app just goes on and on with a “Loading” message far too often. Painful ads are far too frequent and long - also they insist on blasting music even when the silent mode is on. Come on Microsoft - you don’t need to do crap like this.

Absolute Garbage Plagued by Corporate Greed. The monthly subscription model for a game like this is disgusting. The money hungry coonts at Microsoft should be fah-qing ashamed of themselves. This game is unplayable, as you need to watch 2 minutes of deceitful ads before you can play. Microsoft is a disease on this planet.

Latest update makes game very disappointing.. Overall ratings based on prior versions. The new update gave us ‘improved’ graphics and a new look at the daily challenges, including an Ice Breaker game that requires more planning and is a solid test for any player. Sadly the update also gave us a long list of bugs. The game has lost my progress, more than once. There is no landscape mode making it harder to play if you have any visual restrictions. The interface is clunky on iOS. Stay away and wait for a revision or two.

Needs a landscape option.. Awkward to have to prop up my tablet in portrait orientation. Probably won’t use it much.

Stupid ads. At over a trillion dollar company and you have to play long ads for candy crush. I get some ads but get rid of the long annoying ones

So ma y adds. This game is great and which I could buy it. But either you pay a recurrent subscription which is ridiculous or watch an excessive amount of adds.

Bad synchronization. This apps don’t synchronized well between my iPad and my PC. I just lost my month’s challenges scores and all the scores that I have accumulated this month. After this note, il will uninstall this apps from all my iOS devices.

Disappointed in Microsoft. The game is a lot of fun and the app is well done. BUT, Microsoft made one mistake that I have found. They take all your information to make an account that they claim remembers your position with in the game. Opps, the information goes to them but it doesn’t remember most of your game play. It remembers your main level and that’s about it.

No landscape mode for iPad. Don’t get this if you own an iPad. Only works in portrait mode

Please add Landscape mode. It is truly mind boggling that there is no landscape mode. I understand that this game wasn’t built by Microsoft and just marketed by them but you would think that they would have basic standards instead of just a money grab.

Worth the money. If you play a lot

Reading Clipboard Data. This app was great, until iOS 14 released and I started getting notifications that the app was pasting info from my clipboard every time I launched the app. Why do you need to know what’s in my clipboard Microsoft?

Only has 10 layouts. It’s enjoyable for a while, but you start recognizing patterns quickly. Turns out they only have 10 layouts. Sure they start you off with different numbers pre-filled, but it doesn’t take long to discover you played that same puzzle before

Slow with too many ads. Great game when you get to play it. But the splash screens are so slow. It’s not like there are heavy graphics to load. Only reason I can think of is for all the ads to track you and load. Ads run way too often. Sudoku, Solitaire, etc should be free for 365 subscribers - we’re already paying MS so much!

Pretty good, but easy to mess up a perfect game. I’ll have a perfect game going and putting in notes and then suddenly the notes turn off and I fill in the box and it’s obviously wrong, but just meant to be a potential note.

Great access to sudoku. Buggy features.. The “undo” function often times does not properly undo my actions in the reverse order that I performed them. This causes many entries to be undone unintentionally and it becomes easier to start a new puzzle than to retrace my steps.

Poor ad design, inconsistent with volume. Game itself - good, not amazing since there are only three game choices Data - poor, ads take up a lot of data Ad invasiveness - unacceptable. Phone is silenced, game settings also are silenced, but ads play at full volume. True failure on the design of this game

Switching to another company. I have played this game for years. But with the latest update. They force you to watch the adds with no way to get past them once the add stops playing, sadly I will be deleting this app. I would pay a one time small fee for this game but I am not paying an overpriced yearly fee. 😕

Fun but the UI has bugs. There are times when two numbers can be selected on the number select row and if you are not careful you will insert the wrong number and lose your extra score for a perfect game. This has happened with 4 games in a row so it is a real problem and very frustrating.

Needs Game pass Support. App is wonderful - no issues, you should get it. But Microsoft needs to add support for Game Pass subscriptions to remove advertisements. This should be universal across all Microsoft Games.

Not ready for iPad. If you agree to do an iPad version, you know that the new iPads have an external keyboard, so you could use in horizontal mode (more than 80% of users do that). The greatest developers of Microsoft only did a vertical mode version. All goods of this app is loosing in awful user experience

Really trashy ads. I used to really like this app, but now I’m barely getting to use it because the ads have gotten really nasty. I even tried to reach out to Microsoft but their contact us page is useless! Without any way to report this issue, I’m seriously considering deleting this app.

Not User Friendly. Be careful when switching between notes and fill mode, mistakenly trying to remove a number from the notes often records it as incorrect answer and will erase notes in numerous other squares causing you to start over. Easily done I’m deleting the game based off this one issue.

Good Games / Ad Overkill. The sudoku on this app is very good with a variety of puzzles. Unfortunately it is a perpetual advertisement for other games. Play one game watch one annoying ad. To avoid the ads you must subscribe monthly or annually. You can’t purchase a pack. Too bad. I’d rate the games 4 star or better but going to delete it.

Ads interrupt other apps. I understand that M$ needs their $$$ but the ads will turn on audio even you are playing silently and when your device is on silent. If you are listening to another app it is interrupted and you have to mute the ad and turn your audio app back on. Before the last update I could play silently and not bother my family early in the morning or late at night with loud ads turning on.

Want more of this. Really enjoy puzzle games but want more from Microsoft that have the achievement system built in.

Doesn’t remember completed games. It’s extremely annoying that the iPad app isn’t remembering games that have been completed in the daily challenges. Some of the days I’ve completed three times over and each I time I start back up the next day - it’s like I was never even there!

Good, but. I like the daily challenge, but it often gets stuck on those annoying Royal Match ads.

Great game but…NO political adds. I DO NOT want to see political adds that I can’t immediately click out of. I’m going to play a few more games to see how often these adds come up. If they continue, I’ll delete & find another.

Annoying Ads. I like this game, I hate all the ads! One ad is extremely annoying because it starts with a counter starting at 9999 and counts down from there…there is no way to exit the ad, (although I have not waited for it to count down to 0) I can only assume it would at that point allow one to exit the ad. I have finally decided to permanently delete the game altogether!

Microsoft suduko. My game works for 1-2 days then no longer opens. I have to take it off I-pad then reinstall it. Can’t this be fixed? It is very irritating.

Amateur Night. Several times, after making decent progression up the ladder, the game froze. So I had to delete it and re-install it. I d/l’ed it on my iPad. I couldn’t d/l it on my PC without an XBox account. I don’t own an XBox. And there are several other, more reliable Sudoku games available, so I started using one of them. Much better!!

Great Sudoku Fun. Love this game. It would be nice if there was an autofill option when you’ve gotten the point of an obvious solution without the possibility of making errors.

Loading…. This is a great app if you enjoy being presented with a loading screen constantly. Feel the need to switch to another app for a brief moment? Welcome back to Loading… and will this be a Loading… that eventually lets you back into your game? Who knows!!! Maybe you will have to force quit and watch another ad to continue!!!

Progress. Been leveling up quite a bit in the guest account, then I signed into my Xbox account and nothing synched to the account. Went from 22 down to 4. No completed daily challenges unless I sign out back into guest. But then I can't do achievements. Super frustrating

Too Many Ads. I will never play Microsoft’s Sudoku again -ever. I just experienced an ad that was scheduled to run 9999 seconds unless I played the game from the ad. It is totally disgusting. I certainly hope Microsoft deploys AI better than it does Sudoku, or maybe I’ll sell my Microsoft stock and buy Invidia with the proceeds.

Ads are Too Long!. It’s a nice game but the length of the ads and their frequency is a big turnoff. Don’t make me watch an entire 20+ second ad before nearly every game I play. Isn’t Microsoft earning enough money already?

Finally. I had a hard time finding this in an iPhone version that I liked. This is the one! Thank you Microsoft

Good games, loads of themes. It's a good game with multiple types of Sudoku and challenges. It offers a light and dark mode. It also has different themes. The only thing I don't like is the design of the game. It is very boxy and clunky looking. It is the best Sudoku game I have found in the App Store though.

Addictive. I didn’t even know how to play sudoku 2 weeks ago, now I can’t stop. I would really love the ability to play the ice breaker game outside of daily challenges.

Today. I’m a long time Premium member and today I decided to try phone version. Why is there no way to get rid of ads. I will change this to FIVE STARS. There is no way contact you developers, so I wasted a whole lot of data. Yes, I updated the ads button. I hate being evil, but I can’t get my battery power back from this fiasco.

Doesn’t save progress. I have been playing this for a while now and have a lot of fun. However, there have been many times that it does not save my progress which is really frustrating. I have tried logging out and back in and even uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Does the same thing on laptop and on ipad.

Rage quit.. This is a great addition to the Microsoft family of casual games. There’s one enormous flaw: the Undo feature will not faithfully retain the Notes. If you painstakingly include annotations and guess a few spots and Undo, random Notes will be missing. Infuriating!

Results Not Saved. This month, the game shows only the first two days of the Challenge, although I have repeatedly done several other days. This is very frustrating and makes it impossible to advance to Perfect as I have done in other months. Please fix this annoying problem. Don Phillips (PraisedSoup 7659)

Loss of days green. I.have this game on my lap top and I tablet and I was green for the month of July until the 28th and now I am only green for the first through the fourth and the sixteenth. This is unexceptable. When I play a monthly challenge game I expect for my progress to be save for the full month. I will not play this game until you have the problem fixed.

Ads are out of control. This is a great game but I am finally quitting it in favor of other similar games. The ads are too long and very noisy interference. The ads will frequently (20% of time recently), run endlessly and the only way to stop them is kill the app. It takes all the fun out of a game I have loved and played daily for years

Another Great Microsoft Game. I enjoy playing Sudoku, and this version is easy to use. I can sign in with my Microsoft Xbox account, which is a plus, and also play on my iPad.

Royal Match Ads. This used to just have the static ads at the bottom which was fine. Now it’s another app like Tetris that forces you to sit through a 30 second+ Royal Match ad, plus at least 3 clicks to get out of the ad after it finishes, in-between each game and at start up. Yet another app I’m uninstalling because of these ads.

Too many ads!. I like the gameplay as I can highlight the number and fill in the grid. But the ads for other games are WAY too many, too often and take FAR too long to sit through.

landscape mode, please!. I love microsoft sudoku. the different modes are great and an extra challenge. I would love it more if I could play while in landscape. it weird that Microsoft Wordament and Solitaire are supported in landscape mode but Mahjong and Sudoku are not. otherwise it a great game to play

Great app but..... This app is cool and gameplay is fluid and intuitive. My only problem is that it doesn’t rotate with screen, even on the iPad where there’s enough screen real estate to facilitate 90 or 180 degree rotation. So for now 4 stars.

My daily brain exercise - Sudoku. I am in my mid 90s and I start each day with exercise- walking one mile for the body then one or two sudokus for my brain. Wouldn’t miss it!

Best Yet. I’ve tried many sudoku apps and this one is definitely the best one. The subscription of $10 is not too expensive and worth it just to get rid of the ads.

I love it!. I’d love to see Ice Breaker as one of the games you can play anytime. Right now they’re only in the daily challenges. (And I hope that someday soon Microsoft will allow iPhone and iPad users to have access to their other games, like Mahjong).

Daily Puzzles. The daily puzzles are predominantly easy. The classic and irregular need more medium and hard daily puzzles. The easy puzzles are no challenge at all. No more than 1 easy puzzle a day, please!!!!!! Again requesting no more than ONE easy daily puzzle! Easy puzzles are not enjoyable. The Lily app is stuck. The game will not open. Frustrating.

Spam / scam commercials. I get it that Microsoft want to earn some money by adding some commercials to this game. I don’t get it that those commercials have to be so in the face and they don’t check their sources. Only way out is to delete this game and never install it again. I don’t want to be directed to external websites with scams.

Solitaire is more completely developed for ipad. I play this on my ipad, not on my phone. Microsoft’s Solitaire team has done a great job on that front. The game plays beautifully in both portrait and landscape mode. For some reason, the Sudoku team has only added portrait orientation. My ipad does not rest on a table top in portrait. All stands for iPads are designed for landscape mode. And this game is perfect for iPads in landscape mode. Other sudoku apps have figured out how to implement that, not sure why Microsoft hasn’t. When they fix this, I’ll give a much more glowing review.

Ads are pushed too long and too hard!. 30-second ads for every game and the App makes it a pain to clear them once they’re done. App is not special enough to warrant paying for it.

Love, love, love. I love everything about these games. They can be very challenging and really work my brain. The only complaint I have is that the Ice Breaker is not included in the regular games.

Unforgiving game for people with fat fingers.. It is easy to incorrectly key the squares on even a large phone. You loose the challenges if you screw up. That said, this month, Feb 2022, there has been two days and the monthly challenge has not been implemented. Microsoft isn’t paying attention to their apps.

Please add more variations. Love that I can finally play with Microsoft, despite the super bland UI (not surprising). But I am really loving all the other similar puzzle games the newspapers are printing for covid entertainment, especially futoshiki. It would be great if Microsoft could set this up more like the solitaire app, with more game variations.
