The game might be broken for me.... So I can click on everything whenever I start up the game, but whenever I get to the actual naming process and the customization section, for some reason it won’t let me click on start. I don’t know if it’s my phone being incompatible or something. (Probably not.) I have an iPhone 7 (not the S version) and that might be doing something to conflict it, but otherwise I don’t know if my game is glitched.

Fun little side game. Only cons is having to pay for coins but playable either way

ADDICTED!!. I love Kariosoft games, some more than others but this one is really keeping my focus. I don’t love the freemium aspect but otherwise awesome.

Can’t open game. So when I first downloaded it I could open it once but after that when I try to open it again the ad that shows up never appears and the counter is stuck at 5 seconds with no ad even showing. Please fix this kairosoft because I love your games and this one seems fun

So far so good.. Like some of the game play enhancements from the original Game Dev Story. Haven’t gotten to a point where I feel the I need to spend money, as others have mentioned.

Good Game!. I literally play this everyday now mostly for the spin 😀 and the ads aren’t bad they are needed for development!

Pretty Solid Game. You can get on by without paying but sometimes it’s easier to just pay for the stuff you need. Overall it’s a pretty solid game.

Actually pretty good. So I’m doing this review only for the 5 coins. But the game is actually really good. It feels like a free gamedev tycoon. And there are alot of detail put in the game. It deserves the 5 stars tbh

You can do better. This game is trash! i am always a big fan of ur paid games this game is more complicated and its very hard to earn gold and its suppose to help with most developing. Id rather you put out paid games because those always turn out well

Frustrating. UPDATE: After spending several days with this game it’s getting frustrating to the point of quitting. The reliance on gold coins is really showing. You can’t get anything without them. You can’t even purchase them right now; that functionality is broken. You’re forced to rely on scummy ad practices to “earn” them and even if you complete the earning steps you probably won’t get your coins. Ready to quit. Would be nice if there was a way to make a one time purchase to remove ads and maybe give you daily coins. As it stands now the gold coins are almost impossible to get. The offers never work and they TRICKLE in otherwise. The energy system isn’t great but so far it hasn’t been a major issue. You can develop games without using energy.

Amazing. This game is really fun... at the same time it teach us how to improve our self and how wise we are using our idea.. i really enjoyed it.. Amazing

Another good one. It’s free and takes time however it’s still as addicting as their other paid games.

Day 5 - Still enjoying it a lot. So far I enjoy the game. I’ve enjoyed a few of Kairosoft’s games, and thought I’d give this one a try. Unlike their other free games, this one I actually have played more than 3 days and still find myself picking up my phone to play. It’s not a quick game like most of their games are; I haven’t progressed much at all in the 5 days I’ve played. Wish they would make a free version and a paid version. I’d gladly spend $5 on one that ditches premium currency and has more of the original feel of their paid games.

Addicting.. After playing this game for 5 days straight, that this game is phenomenal! This game isn’t really pay to play, and the ads are at the title screen an the bottom of the screen so they aren’t distracting you from the game. Also the game always rewards you for doing literally anything with gifts or cash. This game makes you feel like actually owning a game company, and shows character progression in skills developing a game. I normally don’t make reviews but this simple game is amazing, and addicting in a good way. 5 stars I also have a suggestion: Make coins easier to gain, many things in this game requires coins.

It’s fun. It’s challenging at first but it does become a lot of fun trying to get better and better

Phenomenal!. If you are a fan of this company then you will love how the game is a nice progressive game! You really have to grind to get far and there is not an end so that the stars carry over. Unlike the other games where you can become successful quickly this game takes more time and effort which makes it a favorite! P.S. please make a basketball version of home run high!

Fun. It’s a really addictive and time killing game. I can see myself playing this for a good while and very much enjoy the challenge it gives on trying to become better.

Lots of grinding. Very similar to other kairosoft games, such as dev story, but requires more grinding than most. Coins are more important for this game than most others, and not nearly as common to find. It’s fun, but just don’t feel like I am making any real progress.

Fun Game. This game follows a very similar gameplay of Game Dev. For fans of Game Dev. Story or for anyone who wants to test out the game play before deciding to purchase and try Game Dev., definitely try Social Dev. Also, for a free game, ads are not intrusive and only appear at the very bottom of the page (super small and can't really be noticed). Additionally, there are some ads at the beginning whenever the game is launched - the ad lasts 5 seconds. Very short compared to games where I feel like I have to watch a long and every level or every five minutes.

Another fine business RPG. This is my 2nd Kairosoft game. Just like last time I am kinda limping along trying to figure out what works best and then I will probably play it through a second and third time with my newfound knowledge (there are plenty of guides online, but I enjoy playing this way.) I don’t love the ads and wish I could just flow them a few bucks and have them disappear. But that’s my only criticism.

Good Game but No Game Dev Story. Great game to kill time playing but it can’t top game dev story. Only reason I give this 4 stars is because friends are a necessary part of the company progression

Avid Kairosoft fan here. I enjoy this game but my biggest qualm is the inability to get new employees. My CEO is level 40 but I still have employees with only one star on my first floor because I never get any good ones🤷🏻‍♀️

Classic Kairosoft Fun!. This really brings me back to the days of Game Dev Story… plus, it’s FREE. Totally worth the download if you’re a fan of their other games.

LOVE THIS GAME. this game is perfect and I really really enjoy it it’s perfect to just play and relax and wind time for a little bit in between my college classes and soccer practices and games

Another Freemium Game. I have played every single Kairosoft game they have ever released for iOS and all the paid games are fantastic. However, these freemium games with their timers and attempts to have you use real life currency to pay for things in the game are always horrible. I understand that is the way the market is trending and you are trying to keep up but your paid apps are the best of all time. I think most fans would rather pay $5.99 for a complete game with no ads or timers and no in-game currency than download a free game with them. They also have a huge library of games yet to be translated that would be much better than this game. The game concept isn’t even good...it’s like they’re trolling us by making a game about releasing games on phones with the option of “paid release” and “free to play with micro transactions”. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother downloading this game. Maybe that will send a message to them to go back to the fried and true methods of their past and leave the micro transactions behind. At least we can dream...

A good pick em game. I would say if you like a game you can continually just play for days on end this is the one for you. I primarily enjoy the fact that there’s many upgrades for our workers on top of the feeling of EARNING better game releases than just becoming rich within a day of playing. The difficulty isn’t too difficult but leaves me wanting to try more game styles to build. Probably confusing some people with what I’m saying but you’ll realize everything once you play. it’s a simulation game regardless you know what you’re getting.

It is a great game even though feels a bit bland. Has a lot of depth that I could’ve overlooked but it’s definitely a soul sequel to the game dev one

Great game; great company.. For a free game this is a great and addicting game to play. I own a lot of Karisoft games, including the original game Dev Story. I loved that game as a child and this game takes it a step further with feeling like a true game development studio. However, this game is not without faults. For one, the game feels too grindy, and almost is locked behind a small paywall. For example, coins are a big part of this game but can only be randomly found or bought. I’ve been playing the game for over a week now and I would probably be close to finishing the original Game Dev Story. So it’s a plus for longevity but it’s a delicate balance to a game that it seems to fall short on. I have also notice it does crash once or twice a day when I’m playing it. I’m on the iPhone 11 so the software is fine and my phone is not the issue that is causing it. Overall a good and fun game that is addicting and worth the download. Keep up the great work!

Pretty good. My only issues with the game is that it’s a lot more pay to play then the other free games from this company, And you can’t expand floors without gifts from “friends” which make it difficult to find people in forums to add and hope someone sends you it. Other than that the game is great, it’s challenging and fun

Great game once you get the hang of it. Directions aren’t super clear and I’m sure not sure what all the numbers mean. But fun game none the less

Go back to the 5$ it would be a good game without in app purchase and the workers getting tired and storage units costing real world money to use don’t ruin your rep ur paid games are great the free ones are trash also translate some of the others to English if fix or new released I’ll update my rating

Fun and Addictive!. I’m a long-time player of Kairosoft games and they rarely disappoint. This one is easy to pick up and super fun once you get the hang of things!

Great Kairosoft Entry. This is a very fun game and a great way to pass a little time each day. It has great “just one more thing” elements that keep you playing and excited as well as fun ways to rank up and grow. Highly recommended!

Good game. Social dev story is pretty fun. The only downside is the coins. You barely get any in game and you need them for essential things like upgrades for the staff and adding floors. I

Slow start. This is an amazing game just like all the other kairosoft releases. Although this one starts off slow and you kinda want to delete it, don’t. Just keep playing a couple more days and it gets much better.

Solid Kairosoft. I own almost every Kairosoft Mac release, including some in Japanese that haven’t been translated (I thought maybe I could guess my way thru the games LOL.) LOVE Kairosoft’s style of management games — and this one is true to form. I don’t quite understand the Power Ups - and kind of wish there was a “combo” building feature like in Kairo Park, Dream House, and Pocket Academy (still my absolute FAVORITE!) but I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. Been playing it every day since the summer started early July. Love it! Please finish translating the rest!! Can’t wait to try Basketball!!!

my first kairo soft’s game. I am so happy to write about it. I heard so much about your games but I wasn’t big fan of kinda simulation/management game so I hesitated to playing it. but wow it was so fun also adorable at all. I bought another kairo soft’s game and I will dfntly buy more games in future

A bad version of Game Dev. You guys should have just released Game Dev for free and made some money off that. This gets good reviews for the casual fans, but it’s quality is terrible. I’d rather pay for Game Dev (which I have). This is just a terrible ripoff of that and it’s not even that fun. You’ve released some great free games like Grand Prix and Soccer League 2, but this, this is just terrible.

Takes long to advance. If you don’t have patience this game isn’t for you. It takes a long time to start getting somewhere. It’s an overall good game though

What Happened?. What happened to you guys? I used to struggle to find space on my phone because I loved your games so much and now you’ve crashed and burned. Have you run out of ideas? Are you too lazy to spend time on another game that’s worth $4.99? Or do you think that people like your free crap more than the good games you used to release. Just look at the reviews you get! Everyone thinks the same thing!!!!! I really loved (most) everything that happened before that strango music game. Then you kind of fell apart. Well, I guess all good things have to come to an end at some point... right?

Great game. This game reminds me of a more detailed game dev story which was also a favorite of mine. I wish it showed the characters being fired up when they get inspired during game production. There is a lot of mechanics and upgrades that I like such as upgrading your ceo from a baby to an adult and you can make him exactly like yourself. A feature I would add is having the hearts regenerate everyday rather than making him food. Overall the retention on this game is pretty high ;) keep up the good work!

Surprisingly fun. It’s not that bad, gets rather fun after a bit, I’m a few days in and haven’t gotten bored just yet.

Well worth it. A nice casual sequel to Game Dev Story that lasts longer than the original and strikes a good balance between longevity and replayability. Well worth your time and a must-download at the free price point.

Good but room for improvement. Nice to see Kairosoft getting back to what they do best. I think there’s areas for improvement around character development but Kairosoft don’t do mass freights after release so as it is it’s a good game and good commuter play easy to pick up and put down. solid 4star

Disappointing and Expensive. Kairosoft games are my favourite type of game, but I’ve found this one frustrating. I disagree with the fact that you must have a friend to upgrade to the 3rd floor. It’s also very hard to make money. You pay for good items then you have to pay to use them on staff. Then to upgrade staff, some items require coins which cost a crazy amount to purchase. I’ve tried it for 6 days but have deleted it as wasn’t getting anywhere with it. I much prefer their games to play offline like their original games.

Easy to play, hard to master. Fun Kairosoft game - high coin (real money) use-age, but you come across a few from time to time, just makes slow progression for non real money players. What is going on?. Big fan of the older model Kariosoft games but as they continue to release these free games something doesn’t add up. This game is called Social Dev but your making video games.... this rag tag group of characters are attacking the ?code? before their computers hurt their chances of making the game properly? The games barely stay on the market and the categories/genres don’t really match up at all. Really confusing mechanics and I’m not quite sure what the final purpose is. I’m going to go back and play Mega Mall Story. At least it makes sense and will be replay-able. Can we get a proper game soon?

Big Kairosoft Fan. The game is super addictive and fun to play BUT.. I feel like I can’t progress unless I buy coins which is ok.. only it’s SO EXPENSIVE! $4 for 10 coins!? And it costs 8 coins just to hold a meeting? 25 coins just for ONE upgrade item! Would really like a paid version so that we can pay a 1 time fee and call it a day like your other games :( this sorta ruined it for me

So-so. Requires an internet connection to play and is heavy on ads and micro transactions. Far fall from earlier pay for games by the company. If you throw more then $6 USD, you should consider buying the full non predatory versions of their games.
