Starts good...ends...?. I'm not quite sure what to think of this game. Long story short, I think it suffers from some balance issues and poor design choices. The beginning of the game is absurdly fun and everything I have come to expect from the developer. The end game, however, is no where near as fun. I have spent the last 8 years of game time simply watching my town struggle to produce enough gold to afford the next level of troops. Then I go up against one of the absurdly difficult "endgame" armies and get them down to only a handful of soldiers while I still have 1000 left. But for whatever reason, there is a round limit in the battle system and I end up losing. The game calls it a draw, but that just isn't the case. There is no reason that battle should be considered a draw. But it is. And then I need to grind out another 10,000 gold to afford another 20 troops. I spent more time just sitting around not even looking at my device while waiting for my gold stores to go up for the next upgrade than I did actually engaged with the game. All in all, a great concept, but it still needs a lot of work to make it actually "fun."

Best games ever!!. Kairosoft is the best game company in the whole world I bought all the games but this is the best! I have an idea for a new game it's about soldiers and war, like you try to recruit troops to your squad and command them in the battlefield with cars helicopters plans and stuff like them. I would be very happy and people will like it if make our dreams come true by making this game! Keep up the good work👍👍

So excited!. Kairosoft thank you so much for releasing another app so soon. Please keep it up and release them faster if you could. These games are all so much fun, no matter what the subject. So please translate all of your games to English and iOS.

It entertained me.. I was really waiting for this since there haven't been any game apps that attracted me for a while. Ninja village is addicting, but like the other reviewers said, it slows down towards the end. While it still doesn't beat hot springs or their dungeon village games, it was fun and deserves at least 4-5 stars. :)

So much potential. This game could've been amazing. It's really fun in the beginning but later on it just gets downright frustrating. The round limit is a huge letdown, when you're so close to winning a battle and yet you can't despite how many of your troops are still left. Sitting there and waiting forever to earn enough gold to only buy 20 troops at a time that can cost 5k to 15k is tedious.

Best Kairosoft Game to Date. This game was amazingly fun despite it's fairly linear progression. It was nice to see Kairosoft break away from their traditional system for a little bit to make a game that was thoroughly engaging. Keep up the good work guys! I loved it!

Could have been one of their strongest contenders. Several problems: Battles have only three rounds. If you have 100 units left and the enemy has 1 unit left, it is a draw. There is no real in game difference between a draw and a loss. 2. Tactical targeting, unlike what the game suggests, makes no difference in outcomes. Just leave it set to auto. 3. You cannot designate certain workshops to make certain products. This ends up in having workshops creating products for a particular store being far, far away from each other. 4. Grinding for gold is the only way to beat this game, and that gets old very fast. 5. There is not any of the little extras we are used to seeing (exploration parties like dungeon village/epic astro story/Beastie Bay), investing in side projects (mega mall story/hot springs story). No combo system here, no bells and whistles. 6. No real replay value. Once you've beat it, that's it. There aren't alternate starting maps, etc.

5 out of 5. I truly find this game to be very fun

Kairosoft does it again!. Once you start playing a kairosoft game you can’t stop until you perfect your run. I love the games so much boxing gym story ninja village and game dev story are top tier in my book I’ve sunk almost 300 hours combined with these games. The UI is very small and very janky but for the amount of content they fit into one game it’s totally acceptable. Very few developers put in the love and care kairosoft puts into crafting each of their games. Ninja Village is the magnum opus. Not only did they add in an entire building sim tycoon but they put in Roguelike elements by giving you a time limit and not only allowing but encouraging reruns. The other part of the game is an army fighting sim with strategy elements. not only do they pull off these mechanics in such smooth mind blowing fashion with very unique inspiring and funny pixel art but they even added in a map conquering mechanic to the game. Kairosoft seriously just trying to categorize this game into a genre would do it a severe injustice! The genre is simply: kairosoft. I love you guys i love your games I am about to go check socials and see if y’all are still around.

Definetly not their best game. Let me start by saying, I love their games. Ive played everyone of them and enjoyed all. This one however has one major flaw, their round system. They have three rounds which all four troop types attack. If you haven't killed all of the opposing army by the end, its a draw. Let me explain why this is stupid. I had a pretty good chunk of troops left over at the end of round three one battle and the other side managed to have only 1 troop left. It ended as a draw, which meant I had to do the whole battle again. What was stopping someone from going up to the guy and shoving a spear in his stomach? A round apparently. If you are new to their games I would not recommend this one. My favorites were Edo Town and Game dev. This was probably their worst game. I really hope they have learned from their reviews on it. That or they don't care because they have an extremely large fan base charing six dollars for their games which makes them rich. Can't blame them though.

This Game is awesome. I downloaded most of the kairosoft games and this one is awesome too. Good start awesome middle and the ending wasnt as good but this game is still awesome. Make more. turn the new ones thats still japanese to english. Hurry please

Amazing. This game comes out of my childhood and I love it so much I see that they still make even more games and even came out with a Pocket Academy 3. I wish they made another like this even Kariobotica.

No goal. I really enjoy the mass battle npc set up. Eliminate the 3 round battle system. Better balance for making gold. Possibly control who goes where. There was no goal/ accomplishment. I was just going through the motions. I will finish with this, it is enjoyable, fun concept. Similar to a few others you have put out but good. Still the best are game dev and Grand Prix story. Still hoping for a sequel

Best kairo release yet. I've been a big fan of Kairosofts games since Game Dev story, but I have to admit, the last few releases sort of didnt capture my interest. I'm happy to say, however, that Ninja Village combines all the best elements of my favorite kairo games, and does away with some of the less appealing aspects of certain kairo releases. This is easily my favorite kairo release, so far, and I recommend it highly.

Next game suggestion!!!. This game is freeeeaaaaaking aaaawwwweeeesssooommmmmeee it's so fun and creative and I was also think that the next game should be like where u make movies or songs but I say movies are better :) FIVE STARS

Wow. Just like all the other games from kairosoft it's amazing just wow. I'm planing on getting the new pyramid one that just came out today I think.

What mobile should be. No hidden payments just fun

Not their best but still decent. I'm not really into the ninja genre so that may be part of it but this game seems to be lacking a bit in things to do while waiting. Not as in depth as others. That being said, kairosoft games are by far the best out there.

Classic Kairo Entertainment. I have enjoyed every kairosoft game and enjoyed them all immensely; this one is no different and will be complimenting my stable of kairosoft games nicely. I 'am very glad to have been the first person to purchase and review the title, and I will continue to play their retinue to until it has been grinded down to a virtual dust.

The best of all. In my time that I have played this game out of all the other ones really drew my attention to the company itself. This game had all of the things that I was looking for in a game very intriguing and fun game and I loved it as soon as I played it through and through. Could it have been better yes it could have but what game now a days couldn’t be better than what it came out as. All I would have to say is a better drawn out battle system a better story but besides that the mechanics and everything else about this game really still draws out the best.

Enemy scaling. There is quite a difficulty curve, the more you progress the scarier everyone else gets. And after you clear the map, the true enemy reveals himself lol. Lose one star for not making soft caps on enemy troops. Pretty fun, I played it twice almost beat it the second time within the scoring time limit.

4.5 stars. A very nice town builder sim and strategy conquering game. Yes, the draws are frustrating, especially when there is under ten units left, but lets be honest, in battle, nothing is certain, and wasting supplies running down ten guys so you have true victory (or else risk them becoming a threat all over again) simply isn't feasible. 'Draw' is more credit than a lot of battle games give! This game has its own music but that will fade away if you like to play your own. Note! The move feature is unlocked later in the game, so if you need to change the layout to increase output, I suggest waiting or only destroying to rebuild in extreme cases of necessity.

Amazing game play. It was really interesting to play and also you need to put in a lot of thinking about how you fight other army. I wish they have an online match making systems where we can fight other people:) definitely worth your money.

Good! But.... I love this game I really do i'm not the first person to tell you about the broken combat engine, why do you not just update it?! That's the only flaw people bugger you about! This is hands down my favorite game since game dev. But its that one tiny thing that ruins everything.

This review echoes RTSboy's review. A fun Kairosoft game - but this one does suffer from slow/tedious/badly balance endgame content. I found myself simply laying the phone down and waiting ten minutes to buy my next upgrade - not due to laziness, there is really nothing else to do. Still luv it and worth the money. 3/5

Definitely one of the harder titles to beat. This game kind of just throws you into the fray. I was not able to raise my army enough to unify the "not Japan" land entirely (darn you Nobunaga...). It is extremely difficult to acquire enough capitol yo do things in this game so here are some tips for new players. Tips for players: - level up your work force as well as your warriors. They will move faster - always double up on your industry things. Put two stone depots next to a mine etc. as your workers level more they will finish tasks faster. - dont forget to recruit people to live there! - use the animals they give you in your army, its free labor! - always challenge the Shogun to battle to earn coin - analyze your soldiers strengths and weaknesses. The pink haired girl they give you at the beginning i used til the end she was that good as a soilder also she is arrow proof. - you have three turns to beat an army, it doesnt matter if there is only one person left on the other side it will be a "Draw" so just over compensate in your army for an easy win - as you beat armies the surrounding armies get stronger so i suggest to just grind and beat the bigger ones first

This game is addictive. I was playing this game for straight 3 days. The game mechanism is well build and I enjoyed playing sim city and dragon force like at the same time. Crazy addicting and I am looking forward to play next game from this company 👍

Awesome little game. When I say little I'm talking about the 8-bit looking graphics but otherwise these games are worth hours upon hours and great to kill time!

Fix draw system. Attempted replaying after end game, completely lost interest and deleted after losing 20+ straight battles to armies and gangs that I out number and outgun..because they had a single hold out magically survive compared to 75% plus of of my troops still standing. Arbitrary time limits and weak win/draw system make this game a boring grind fest to complete everything.

Great Concept, Meager Execution. The idea of this game is great. However, the way it was executed was not as good as it could be. The village management is ok. Though it could be better, I understand that this game is not primarily a management game. Conquest in the game is pitiful. The other AI warlords don’t ever move their armies, and on the battle map, there is almost no tactical management. You can only control which unit your archers focus on. And even then, they never really hit that target. Troop recruitment is kinda wierd. It’s messured by a number that I have no idea what it correlates to, and the max your army can be is 999. It also confuses me how the other warlords can have an army greater than 999. There isn’t much replayability because its the same senario every single time, the same villagers, the same skills...it gets boring after you learn all the exploits. The game gives you 16 in game years to unite Japan under the Shogun and defeat the end game boss. I have NEVER done this. By this point in the game, I always have at least 7 more warlords to vassalize. Because the game is just really grindy, you can never beat it within the time given. At the end of the 16 years, the game scores you based on your treasury, # of villagers, visitors, etc. Though you can still play to complete the game after 16 years, it doesn’t count toward your score. I stopped caring about it on my third play through. I honestly don’t think that this game is worth the money you have to pay to get it. Its only fun for the first few play throughs, and its impossible to beat the game in the time given.

So good I had to download it again!. I played this game when it first came out and I loved it ! I beat the game in maybe a weeks time and I was actually kind of sad when I beat it. Now I’m downloading it again and I’m gonna beat it again !

Best one. This is my favorite Kairosoft game. I repeatedly come back to it. Beat it. Delete it. The a few months later I'll do it again. This... Do this game more.

Interesting/Fun. Great Game!

Good start, poor ending.. I've played almost all the kairosoft games (for IPhone) and I pretty much love them all. Like some other reviewers have mentioned, this game starts out strong but at the end game it just grinds to a halt. The difficulty in the battle of the very last fight from the few before is like an 8 jumping to a 13. And there's no real way to make your army much stronger besides grinding, which takes a very long time even when you've built your village to be very economically profitable. Not their best, was a fun play through, but nothing like my favorites (Grand Prix)

Not very good For The Money. Not very good I got far in it and like dungeon village I completed just about everything in about 4 days. I don't think Ima buy anymore kairo games at first I was impressed by them when I played SkyforceU and the pirate ship one and Grand Prix story 2 but since I've been paying 5 bucks for this one and dungeon village the two which I was most interested in they were Both letdowns so that's 10 bucks I've wasted on two games I've basically finished in the same 4 days I've had them both.!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY FAIR WARNING!!!!!

Could have been better. I felt they could have done more with this concept. It is a fairly good game with all the usual things. I also actually like the battle system, even if the enemy only has 1 troop left when the battle ends and its a draw, that is my fault for not preparing as much as i should have. There IS a whole lot of waiting and the characters don't feel as defined, but that probably wasn't the main focus of this particular sim. Nothing out of the ordinary from kairosoft. If you like their stuff then buy it.

The game is laggy on my iPhone 14 pro 512gb. I’ve really enjoyed this game on my iPhone 4 about 10 years ago. But this time doesn’t have a nice experience when the game is laggy when in the battle scence.

Starts off cool...then 6 min in u see why all the complaints. Great game and concept that starts off really cool, but comes to a screeching halt a few minutes into the game. The battle system and cost to fund troops is broken. Fix the stupid round timers, there is no reason why a battle where the enemy with 1 standing cavalryman ends in a draw vs my army of 200 infantrymen just because the short 3 round timer ended. Give me an effing break. Please fix this

please make a sparta version of this. one of my favorite mobile games growing up. it would be AWESOME to see you guys make a game similar to ninja village but with SPARTANS🔥

Please make one change!. Please oh please take away the turn system in the fights... 3 turns... And it's a draw? Please oh please take this out! It is the worst system ever! I just wanna watch my guys fight.. Let the battle happen! Let the archers shoot, and then let them shoot again every 8 seconds... Don't end it and waste all my time while everyone runs at each other just to be on the archers and then have to wait even longer just to pass the very first fight!!! Please oh please change this!

Finally Kairosoft!. It's about time! They released this on the Japanese App Store in early Dec, I've been checking ever since then for them to release it on the US store. You'd think now that the iPhone is the #1 seller in Japan they'd release more games on the App Store. But Kairosoft still takes forever to release games in Japan and then here.

I say Yay not nay. This game like all of the others is addicting. You start small than grow a mighty empire. The battle animation is amazing conquering japan (if that is what it is) is awesome. There is little to say that is bad about it. It is indeed a yay. One more thing bring Game Dev Story 2 please and thank you.

Interesting. Definitely old school gaming, there is a lot of grinding, some luck, and it isn't a mindless easy game. A few times you will probably hit a wall. Have to figure out what makes the city better and what warriors are most important. It could be better, I would like to have the ability to customize people, zoom out of the screen to see better in the landscape position, and a little smarter worker ai so they don't walk all over town to make some goods. Overall, very fun, old school Kiarosoft. It is similar to a mix of Edo Village/Grand Prix. *not impossible like other reviews say, lol*

Astro space and money grind!. As much fun as astro battle system... Then ever so grinding of gold to make "advance" in the next battles. The game begins to lose its "fun" when it no longer becomes skill via ninja as opposed to having gold to be buying 20+ npcs at a time. Then the RNG affects the battle. One battle you might win by luck, another you lose by 1 npc you failed to kill. There seems to be no point in attacking any particular npc in any order, except by auto default. Doesn't seem to matter. Endgame ; no replay value. Grind gold > build super army > beat game. Can't say This was the best release yet, but fell pretty short when it becomes a grindfest to compete in the battles. Pretty peturb you can't control the factory warehouses to one specific item then let it be random. Ending up recreating my village 5+ times because my output farm was inadequate. :/

Kairosoft Failed.... Great beginning to a game and of course Kairosoft gameplay. However as the game progressed, game just goes downhill. This is called Ninja Village yet it's a game that has SOME ninjas. To those familiar with Kairosoft games, I think you'll understand what I'm going to say next. Spent the endgame just watching my village produce enough money to produce enough troops to try and beat the game.

Best so far. I’ve been playing these games for a long time and I love this one the most. The combat feels fine and building your army up and steam rolling is fun as hell! Also managing your village is fun as well though they could add more villagers. This game gives you a good combination of a few of the game mechanics that they are well known for!

Big fan of kairo. I've played a lot of kairo games and this one is probably the best. You are more in control of the progress than other ones. But down side is just like other kairo games, which is low replay value.

Ninjatastic. This is a great game totally worth the price. Love the ninja animals that you find and all the different weapons and skill you can upgrade your ninjas with. Only one small downside and I have this problem with all the Kairosoft games, the amount of years you get to complete the game aren't enough. I never get to finish everything . Otherwise super game and it's got replay value too.

Buy it. Kairosoft make the best sim games for mobile and this new game is no different. Please buy it and support this amazing company and the amazing games they produce.

Kairosoft FTW!. I did not hesitate to buy this game. Every other time I've checked the App Store and I've gasped and screamed in delight (sometimes at the same time and in public). I did this over Ninja Village today, and you'll know why once you've played it. It's amazing, truly, truly amazing. The animations are so cute and they jump up and shoot their little bows and it's so cute... *cough* Anyway, the graphics are as good as always, if not better! And you get money so easily this time, which is a relief for Kairosoft Gamers. You have to buy this game, help Kairosoft and they'll be truly grateful. (Plus they'll make more games! ;)

Very Addicting!. I've been looking for a fun building type game that isn't like all these stupid "freemium" games. I downloaded the lite version to try the game out and ended up buying the full version and played it until 2:30 in the morning! Storyline is pretty good, graphics look cool, and there's lots of things to keep you occupied. Manage your village, upgrade your units, build your army, expand you village, battles and more. Thank you for making a game that is actually fun and not constantly hammering me with buying in-game currency and ad's!

Shocked at how much fun this is!!. I hesitated a long time after reading some professional reviews, and wasn't sure about the ninja theme. The game is much more than just that. The village-building economy is just enough without being overwhelming, lots of land to customize and keep expanding the village, and the battle system is fun to plan and so great to watch in action! Cavalry bear!!! 🐻

Decent Game. I thought it was a decent game. It would have been better but the idea of a draw is a loss, and you only have 3 rounds for combat really kills the game. Otherwise it is fun

Ok. Good, but need to fix the glitches. I.E during battle the skill used 2x in 1turn, sometimes buying items doesn't show in ur own Manu. Then there is the freezing of the screen. Im using an apple 5s.

Worst game ever. One of their worst games yet, Ninja Village is a village simulator mixed with a war simulator. At least that's what they advertise. They have stripped out all of the mechanics that made their previous games wonderful and you are left with an empty shell of a game that revolves entirely around grinding money. A lazy cash grab at best, they've done a lot to alienate me from future purchases.
