Super easy to use. Again not sure why the reviews are so poor. I’m traveling and this is SO much easier to use than my big book. 5* all day. Making my life a lot easier!

Does Not Work on iPhone XR. The app crashes each time I try to launch the PHTLS book. I have deleted and downloaded the book multiple times to try correcting the issue. I purchased the digital content to specifically reference the book on my mobile device. Is there a solution to this issue?

Hasn’t worked in months. The apps TTS really well for the first half of the fall semester. Then they did an update & the TTS stopped working in the app. Works on the desktop, so there’s that... wish it worked on my phone. I also had issues with the page flipping to the next page with the slightest touch, some others had on here.

The ebooks a scam. Cant read ebook bc when you try to move on to the next page it skips multiple pages. Even trying to select the exact page doesnt bring you to the right page. The app just simply doesnt work and neither does the webpage. There is effectively no ebook option even though we pay for it. Its rly just a scam.

Ios16. Updated to ios16 and now I can’t annotate or highlight 😐 This was supposed to be the developers solution to the app not working in chrome on my laptop. I’m sure some settings need to be adjusted. They may be unaware of compatibility issues. Imma just go old school and use the book to save me a headache.

Not able to highlight. I really enjoyed this app. I enjoyed being able to highlight and go back and take notes. Ever since I have updated my phone to IOS 16, I have been unable to highlight. It is very frustrating as I was using this as a means to take notes. Hopefully y’all can get something figured out soon.

Not user friendly. To only being able to highlight one single word at a time to not being able to add any notes to a highlighted word, just use the website. This app is horrible for users and with hilariously less features than the website.

TTS is So Slow!!!. I downloaded this app to be able to listen and follow along in the textbook. But the text to speech reader is so slow that it is completely impractical. There are no speed adjustments for the text to speech like there are on other apps.. I’m a slow reader as it is, but this reading speed is even slower than I am. Very dissatisfied. Would not recommend if you want just the text to speech function. It is convenient to have your textbook on your phone, but I was looking forward. To being able to leverage the text to speech to assist my learning.

Absolutely needs a dark/customizable color read mode!. Otherwise, the app is pretty decent. The page turning leaves a little bit to be desired but it does work. I am also unsure why the rating is so low, it’s not that bad, I regularly use it on my iPad 11 Pro and my iPhone 12 promax without any issues.

Literally Can’t Use It. I’m in a class of 28 Fire Academy students and the app doesn’t let anyone sign in. Judging by past reviews it seems like a pretty common occurrence. The eBook on the website constantly crashes and I’ve also been frozen/locked out of quizzes and test while taking them. Who’s pockets did this company grease to get their book as required curriculum? Their software is hot garbage and they don’t seem to care about fixing it.

Worthless for Apple Pencil. Extremely difficult to use Apple Pencil and highlight in ebook. Nothing works consistently, not even scroll down speed in contents area of a book. Frustrating overall experience. Disappointing. Please fix issues especially with highlighting, it’s difficult even without the pencil.

It’s an average app. The app allows for basic reading and highlighting, nothing else. Something I wish the app allows us to du is to write in the textbook. I also think that by supporting Split View, it would make this app a way better app to read and take notes.

Worse app i have seen yet.. This is a joke. App from 1995. Reader is horrible. If you are going put out this junk at least make it downloadable so speechify or other programs can read it. You obviously do not have a competent tech department. As is obvious through your entire system and web page .

Unable to log in. Please fix this problem NOW. We have paid an outrageously high price for the EMT book on the premise that we will be able to access the material across multiple platforms. Not able to log in on my mobile device. Unless this problem is fixed today, I will be asking for a partial refund because the advertising claims are inaccurate.

Efficient and Easy!. As someone who despises online text books pairing this app with a tablet or mobile phone makes it bearable to read and navigate the ebooks required for my college courses. Although when you sign in it doesn’t show the text you are typing into the text box’s everything else about the app is smooth and easy to navigate! App definitely deserves far more stars than 1.5.

Unable to highlight. Things were going ok with the app until the update to iOS 16. Now I am no longer able to highlight or annotate any sections. Selecting text now gives me the option to search the web, which while this can be useful, it shouldn’t be the only option. The developer should be able to keep this app up to date with the current version of iOS, especially since iOS 16 has been available to developers for months before it was rolled out for final release.

Not bad!. I was quite discouraged when I saw all of the 1 star reviews, however, I realized these reviews are from people who don’t know how to use a freakin’ phone. It only took me 7 seconds of confusion trying to find out how to select chapters, this app is great for when I don’t have my laptop handy. Go ahead and give 1 star though if you’re old and technologically impaired...

Constantly crashing. Now it says my book needs to be updated but every time I click to update it the app crashes. The app was at least operational before but I can’t even open the previous version of my book.

Please the audio book fiction. I have spent over $800 on your services. I want to listen to the audio without having to keep my phone unlocked the entire time. When I lock my phone it only plays till the end of the last line it was reading. When I press play while it’s locked, after the sentence ends, it just repeats the last sentence it read. Most students, that I know, have full time jobs and Families. We cram our study time into drives, lunch breaks and weekends. This app is almost useless to people like me who just want to listen to the audio when we can’t be reading (while driving, working, etc.). It’s very dissatisfied how much money goes in to learning products and yet how little thought and design goes into the services.

Help!!. This was working great for my paramedic book, but it just forced me to update to version 1.1, and how there are many issues with it. When I scroll the pictures do not move along with the pages as normal, they seem to be stuck and and follow as I scroll, almost as if they are in the background behind the text. It was working great, so please fix!

Needs modifications to work way better. It works, but it randomly flips to the next page a lot and because of that can be frustrating as you constantly have to go back to the previous page and scroll back to your place. Instead of swiping, there should be a forward and back button at the bottom to get to the next/previous page.

Can’t scroll through pages. Constantly skips multiple pages and randomly will revert back several pages causing you to loose your place in the book. There is no page selection feature either. Just inaccurate scrolling. This app is a total joke. The Ebooks were Included in my tuition but there’s no way to download a pdf or print it off Jones and Bartlett learning. You a forced to be online constantly in the browser to utilize your textbooks. This app is frustrating and unusable for its offline feature. Probably just going to end up purchasing the textbooks I need. Another scam in the education industry. My classes start in 3 days and I’m stuck with this broken app.

Stupid. The most idiotic thing ever. Work on fixing how accessible the E-books are on the actual website first before creating an app, because it seems like whoever is in charge of that only has knowledge on technologies from 1999. It should not take 30 minutes to be find where the E-book I’VE PURCHASED ALREADY is located, and they should be ready to use upon purchasing. On top of that, it is extremely difficult to navigate the ebooks once you’ve found out how to access them.

Non-functional. Downloaded to read the TNCC book because the website wouldn’t function on Safari on my fully updated iPad, loaded a page the first time then after I scrolled, only part of the page would show up and it wouldn’t even let me move to the next or previous pages in order to refresh the page I was trying to read. An e-reader app that doesn’t let you read your book gets one star.

Frustrating. This is not my first time using JBL learning products. Whether through the browser or the App, it does not matter—it’s all frustrating. Every potential support feature that you think will help you better actively interact with the material is a useless dead end. Why are the key terms in the books just links to a page that doesn’t even give you a definition. Like I click on link to “cow” and it jumps to a page that just says “cow”. Thats it. No definition. Forget scrolling down to find things via the chapter contents. And the app—forget it. Makes zero difference. It’s all convoluted. Stop doing things half way and not ergonomic. Try testing it out with real people to see how people read and learn.

Decent option. Overall decent but it needs some fine tuning seems to be a lot of glitches when the app is put to work outside of casual scrolling for reading . Ex: I press collapse all info on the left tab and start scrolling through chapters just for it to crash because I went to fast or whatever the reason so I have to take it very slow when navigating to not stress the app

I can finally access my book on my iPad. I don’t really understand the 1star reviews for this app. This app allowed me to have full access to my textbooks with no problems. Works great and I can finally navigate through my textbook without glitches on my iPad!

Works Just Fine. After logging into the Jones & Bartlett website for my class I was able to easily download my textbooks into this app... Not sure why prior reviewers were having problems. Not I can easily study while using this app.

Constantly crashing on iPad. The app will constantly crash after being open for only a few minute on my m1 iPad Pro. This make using the offline reading features nearly impossible.

Worthless. I can’t read without accidentally changing the section and losing my spot as I scroll. There is no highlighting or note taking. The book is over 2000 pages and I thought I would make it easier if I read on my iPad so I wasn’t lugging around so much mass. Nope back to the book.

Not Sure Why Reviews Are So Negative…. Not sure why this app has such a low rating. Maybe they’ve updated it since? It’s a very simple app for sure but I don’t have any issue reading my books on it and it looks much better than the actual website looks on my phone. I’m taking 1 star off because I did have an issue logging in on this app. The login area was there but I couldn’t see any text on screen so I had to enter my login information and just hope I typed it right. But yea honestly it’s decent, it kind of reminds me of BookShelf by BooksRun minus the bookmarking feature.

Slow. Reads WAY too slow. The speed needs to be at least double what they are now. There are no playback speed adjustments anywhere to be found. I read the whole page in the amount of time this reads one paragraph. Makes this app useless for me. I need to get though this book, but with this app, it would take a month to finish.

Worked mostly. Downloaded and ran just fine with my login. Crashes if iPad goes to sleep, kind of a pain if you put your “book” down for a moment. Page scroller at the bottom is choppy, doesn’t go smoothly from one page to next. Nice hypertext features. Needs ability to accept handwritten notes using my Apple Pencil and iPad.

Does Not Work.. This app does not work. It has never worked. I started EMT school in May. Now it’s October. I tried logging in on this app to access the textbook on mobile (which, as another reviewer stated previously, is one of the advertized benefits of thed digitial textbook) at least once a month. Never worked. Never has. Login function is broken, constantly stating that the login information is incorrect (I’ve confirmed many times that my info was correct) and that I should try logging in on the website textbook before trying mobile — after having using the website for months. Terrible app. Disappointing company.

Won’t let me log in. Every time I log in it would let me and tells me I need to launch the course on line which I have. Pretty crappy to pay for this new book for this course and I can’t even use the app which is what I need to complete the course. App is crap and I feel that this company is taking money for aspects that they offer and not coming through on it.

Also Unable to Login- Really?. One would think that the many, many previous bad reviews explicitly stated the NAV2 app wasn’t accepting their login credentials would be enough to get this issue fixed. Apparently it’s not. Does Navigator even read these reviews? Maybe THEY can’t login either. I have NAV1 app installed and am able to login to that one but am left with the bad taste of not being able to use the new features in NAV2.

App crashes too often. During class it gets annoying when this app keeps crashing, it also does not stay in memory when switching between apps, I’m using an iPad Pro please fix theses issues.

Just as everyone else said. After reading the reviews I decided to try this app anyway because I really need simpler mobile access to my text. The app doesn’t accept my login credentials even though it works just fine online. Disappointing to say the least.

Horrible App. I don’t like anything about this app. It is not user friendly in any way. I can’t even highlight text in a book without skipping lines, flipping through pages, etc. None of the functions I have tried are without flaws. I am a graduate student, so I have had to read textbooks on a variety of apps before and this one is probably the worst I have seen. The website isn’t as bad, but still isn’t that functional.

Useless. I hate this app. I wish I could give it a zero rating. Highlighting within the app does not work, pages constantly changing, difficulty with trying to advance the page down, talk to speech works intermittently, and I could go on. Please fix the bugs so this app could work efficiently.

Terrible experiance, you're better off using the online eBook. Not designed well. You are left with an inacute scroll bar on the bottom or you can spam the down key and then the left arrow to proceed to the next page. If you try to use the touch pad on your laptop to scroll through pages it's going to highlight some random words on the page first, you need to click on the screen to remove the highlights and hope that it will actually scroll on your next attempt instead of just highlighting again. It does a good job at deviding the pages by topics but if the topic is so short that it takes up less than a page you cannot go to the next page. You have to scroll past the bottom of the page for it to allow you to get to the next page. If the section is too short than you cannot scroll down at all which prevents you from getting to the next page. Just use the eBook on their website and save yourself the headache.

Must use desktop PC!!!. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars due to lack of specific instruction for setting up the account. You MUST access the account on a ***desktop PC*** and not on a mobile device at least once in order for the app login to work. It will not work unless you do this!

Doesn’t work... Since JBL doesn’t display the textbook well on safari I downloaded the app on my iPad and it’s even worse. Every time I try to open my textbook, it doesn’t open. I’ve tried over 20 times over a span of about 3 months and it’s never worked. It would be incredibly convenient if it did.

absolutely terrible. downloaded the app because the actual website as working (couldnt load the site normally, and after i finally got it to load the items/links themselves send me to a 404 where it says the shopping cart is down? there isnt a shopping cart option so idk what that even means tbh. app itself is a UI disaster, poorly laid out and waaay to sensitive. not exaggerating when i say it has been a nightmare to use anything from this company, that seemingly has a stranglehold on its market. Using anything from this company seems to be be incredibly complicated and often times non-functional/broken. all of the 1 star reviews are well deserved.

Hate the app hate the app. Highlighting and adding notes should not be this difficult. Randomly changes pages when highlighting, no reason to be this overly sensitive. Kindle, Adobe, and iPad book app should be looked as examples of better usability. Read other reviews of additional reasons why this app is a bust. Nothing will be done of coarse, assuming because we should be grateful to even have the “convenience” of this app

To log in:. For anyone who cant log in because of the glitch, if you log in via web browser and try to use the audio book itll direct you to the first version of the app, which works better. Not really a fix but at least its something

Needs Fixed. I can read and highlight in the app but it won’t let me remove annotations/highlights and doesn’t let me use the iOS dictionary to define words. Every time I leave the app for more than 10 seconds it closes the book I was reading. If it weren’t free I would not be using it. Jones & Bartlett need to use something else for their eBooks.

Trash. I don’t leave reviews, but jbl needs to step it up. Not okay to charge astronomical amounts of money for your poorly thought out products. Navigate 2 is trash all around and this application is absolutely worthless. Pathetic. At the bare minimum hire someone who knows what the word functionality means. This is the problem with monopoly kids.

Terrible. Hands down the worst app. I’ve ever used. I paid a lot of money to use a book and I keep getting kicked out of the program. Not user friendly at all. Disappointed that I’m required to use this book. Can hardly ever access it. And have to leave screen on to listen, when it lets you. When it does work, and you want to listen to the book it doesn’t continue from page to page. You have to manually go to the next page and start it over.

Robbery!. Two of my Navigate and Navigate 2 subscriptions expired, renewed the services costing over $1500 and nothing opens or works. Yet the financial transactions no hiccups. In my opinion this constitutes FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY. No workarounds on their website or general IT advice. NOT HAPPY.

The login issue is a simple but annoying fix. I was getting the same log in error as others.. was ready to give up but decided to login to the website through jb learning (where my acct is through) on my iPad. Once I logged in and launched the Ebook through that way it brought up the download or launch app button which brought my acct online and was able to use app. Now no issues, -1 star because of how difficult it was to figure out. So for others.. try logging into your acct through your iPad on the web browser.. and launch your book.

Won’t let me log in. I just downloaded the app to use on my phone, but when I put in my info to log in, it says that it’s incorrect. Highly unimpressed. I’ll just use a browser then.

Fails any function whatsoever. Login screen repeatedly states, “Incorrect username or password. If you have not yet launched the eBook through a web browser, please do this first and try again.” I have tried this countless times. No issue logging in to jblearning.com and launching eBook from online content. I am unable to use iPad reader. Reading options are on computer or bulky textbook. App is useless.

Utter garbage. I wanted to give it 0 stars but 1 is minimum. I log into my computer just fine but on this app it refuses to recognize my login info. It’s so frustrating, you spend 600 on a textbook just to be brickwalled by a utterly useless app that looks like it was designed by a drunk caveman.

Too many problems to list but I will. Using this on an iPad Pro. Can’t see back button unless in landscape mode. Can’t read entire page when font size increased slightly. Can’t highlight text online or in ereader app. Switched from Safari to Chrome. Most problems persist except can highlight now only online version, not app. Piece of garbage.

Bad app, even worse company. Worst app I’ve downloaded. Buggy, and glitchy. For the price of the textbook you’d expect much better. Do better.

No effort went into this. Just by opening this app you can feel how much the developer hates his job. Which, is the only good thing about this app. Anyone who works for a company that exploits students this much deserves to be miserable and die alone. This app sucks, JB learning sucks, and the people who make JB learning what it is, the people with eyes wide shut to how predatory a $1000 SUBSCRIPTION to an online textbook is, those people deserve pain. Horrible, horrible, awful, everlasting pain.

Textbook subscription/rentals. They don’t actually sell you an ebook. Bought a JB Learning etextbook to use as a reference, and after blocking use of the book, they informed me that they only do subscriptions, and I would have to pay another few hundred dollars again to use the textbook for another couple years. If you want an ebook you can continually reference, just find a free PDF of their textbooks online. I wanted to discuss it further with them but after one email JB Learning stopped replying.

Broken app. I literally never review apps, but because Navigate Ereader is so awful, I find myself leaving a review on the App Store for the very first time. It crashes. And crashes. And crashes some more. Want to switch chapters in the textbook? Not without requiring a forced restart of the app. Want to switch between apps, reply to a message, then return to Navigate Ereader 2.0? That’s gonna be another forced restart. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on textbooks that use this app, and none of them work. How can this company sell books for such outrageous prices and not have any money leftover to build a functional app??

Doesn’t work. I sign into my account which I’m able to sign in on their website to review my automotive book, but in the app it doesn’t even show me my book. Very frustrating to me. Please fix.

Please fix the app. There are comments from over a year ago that say the app is terrible and still the issues are not fixed. Completely unacceptable.

Good thing you don’t need the app. I got the app for my medic class so if I’m not at class, clinicals, or work I could easily open it and study. Maybe listen to the audio version while on the road, But nope. I can’t even login. This crap for college is a money racket with little support to the student.

Cannot Sign in. Literally came here to say the same thing as everyone else. Unable to log in to the app, get the message that says to launch first through a desktop. Just like everyone else, I’ve done that and still unable to log in. What a garbage app.

Solid but needs work. I really tried taking advantage of the listening option. But after the first chapter, the audio cuts out and it doesn’t work anymore. Super unfortunate because it helped me learn the material.

Grade school effort.. Horribly designed and not optimized for larger screen iPads. Would be an amazing resource if the dev team just put a little effort into fixing some bugs and updating the UI for more recent hardware.

Unable to log in....... From reading other people reviews dating back to December of 2017, you’d think they’d fix the log in issue. Guess not. I have been trying to log in for two days and it is not working.

Crashes. Have used this for years with no issues. Now, everytime I try to update a book, it immediately crashes. I can’t open the book or update it.

Stop UNDERLING text. To the DEVELOPERS Please allow USERS to torn off the FEATURE that UNDERLINES words from the GLOSSARY throughout the TEXT. Reading TEXT with randomly UNDERLINED words is very ANNOYING.

Garbage. This App is straight Trash, does not work I logged into the sight and app will not met me log in with the same info. Stay away from this if you have other options.

Please fix. Videos crash often or don’t open at all. Pages skip and I don’t realized I’ve missed sections until much later.

Take a screenshot of homepage. Do what the title says, you’ll get the same (or more, with photoshop) use from that screenshot as you’ll get from the app, considering it’s all you’ll ever be able to see since the app’s “login” function doesn’t seem to have made the cut for the final version. Oops.

Very poor. The app keeps crashing and I can not access the quiz section of the book
