Facetune: Photo & Video Editor App Reviews

Features that were once free now need subscription. Updating an app only to make it more expensive is completely disappointing. The two most used features: Paint and Reshape were originally free with Facetune 2, which was what made the app so special, but now they require a subscription. This app was originally a really exciting idea that allowed for amazing features from Facetune to be accessed for free. It was very efficient and although not all the features were free, the ones that were still free offered amazing tools for photo editing. Recently, the app created an update that, although it released new features, changed the settings for some of the best and most used features on the app and they now require the VIP subscription. The Paint and Reshape tools being free are what made this app unique and better than other apps. This kind of action completely cheats the consumers of this app and ruins the once great reputation that Facetune 2 once had. For the Facetune 2 developers: Please reconsider changing the Paint and Reshape features back and available for all users. Thank you.

Amazing Denoise Tool. I don’t think this is what people use this for, but the auto enhance tool on here is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I have some incredibly terrible grainy photos that seemed impossible to fix, but with a tap of a button it was like it created my face out of nothing! When I say grainy I mean like my face was chunky blocks of pixels… but now it really looks like me with my unique facial features and everything! How did it know?! I thought my photos were trash, but now my mind is blown! How. Did. It. Know?! My only wish is that there was an option to denoise more than just a face. Like now my face is amazingly crystal clear, but from my chin down it just grain. I tried to find another program or app that could at least get close to FaceTune’s enhance tool but haven’t found anything yet. Most don’t change anything, or just look cartoonish and distorted. Please please please allow us to enhance more than just our faces. Think of all the potentially great pictures I could rescue!

I watched this happen, so not saying you should do it.... So like many apps do, they have VIP membership subscriptions that enable you to unlock certain features. Well a friend of mine is a long time user of the app, but whenever she wanted to use a specific feature that could only be used in the VIP membership, she would just screenshot it. I’m not snitching on her or anything really, but I found this kinda funny. I guess there is a new update on that app that when someone tries to screenshot the photo edited with features without paying for the membership it now will say “It was worth a shot”—it was funny seeing her reaction! But what I thought was even funnier is that when that happened, it didn’t stop her for any longer than 3 seconds. All she had to do was screenrecord her screen for 5 seconds then once it was in her album, she screenshot it from the video & got her picture 😂😂 SO I say that all to say... you all miiiiight want to update your system a little bit to make more of a profit— I guess Gen Z is rather fast 😂🤷🏾‍♀️ Hope this helps!

it’s ok. I used to really like this app for some basic photo editing but they’ve added two features (paint and retouch) that were previously free to the subscription package. There are still features that I like but taking away these two features that were already free (esp since I really liked and used the paint feature to add more vibrancy to photos) was a bit of a turn off so I’m gonna look for a new editing app since I feel that the few free features that are left can be found others that have more to offer. Like I get it they need to make money but to be honest I only use the app for very basic photo editing so to me it’s not worth buying a subscription to. I honestly don’t really recommend this app unless you’re planning to buy the subscription. If you are they do have some cool features but if you’re not the only things you can do on here is put filters on your pics and smooth/conceal your skin. and like crop photos and mess around with photo exposure but you can already do that on your phone so yeah not rlly worth the storage space.

Thief/useless. All this website want to do is steal your money it’s literally a setup your first time using the app you literally can’t use any of the services without purchasing the unlimited access literally you can’t do anything in this app without buying it so they midest well make you pay to download the app. So you buy the unlimited access on a free trial and all of the sudden you forget and they charge your card and if your card is locked they charge another card that they have access to. Then when you try to request a refund for it because you don’t even use the app ur not eligible for a refund. Like how are you gonna make me pay for something I don’t want or use. They won’t even let you cancel the service and get your money back your just forced to have the app and they take your money. It’s literally all a set up because you can’t use 99 percent of the features without paying for it then when you don’t need it anymore your still paying for it and they don’t give u a receipt so u can tell ur bank. Literally I used the free trial one time when I first bought it and now a week later 64 freaking dollars is taken out of my account for something I literally don’t use. If they were honest a legit they would let your refund but since that’s the only way they make money I stealing from people there not going to. Moral of the story don’t get the app thinking it’s free

Beware of Scam!. I paid for the AI photos are they are straight trash. They will look nothing like you and use old outdated filters like black and white photos with western backgrounds. The quality of the photos look like they were created with dial up internet. I imagine that once I received the photos that took at least 30 minute to complete- that the maker of this app is probably laughing about how many people he can rip off. I asked for a refund immediately after seeing these crazy looking photos and they refused to refund stating they will work on their “algorithm” to make better photos in the future. No refund given, no empathy, no customer service- just completely unconcerned with their customers to the extent that they don’t care rather they have any or not. Please don’t fall victim to this scam- it’s super annoying. Not super expensive but just annoying when people take advantage of consumers trust by scamming people out of their money and never providing the product they paid for. Shameful.

To money hungry. I completely understand running an app costs money and you need to earn a profit to keep it running, but when you start to take advantage of your users hard earned dollar by charging for features that were previously free, not allowing screenshots, and now to top it off, you’ve limited the amount of free pictures you can save a week!! I have used this app since the beginning. I’ve witnessed the first version, all the new features rolling out, the rebrand, etc. but to see how quickly it’s went down the drain in the last year or 2 is incredibly disappointing. It’s one thing to offer extra features to paying customers, but when you take the ability to use the app to free clientele, you will crash and burn HARD. I will now unfortunately have to look for a new app to use on my photos. I honestly wouldn’t mind paying for this app if the monthly fee was reasonable, and the owners weren’t so greedy. It’s completely turned me off from this app. I don’t recommend ANYONE to install. I’m very surprised they have 4.6 at the moment

Gradually taking away features from users?. I really like this app, the tools are great and really cool. I really like the paint feature and I’ve been using the app no problem I’ve had it downloaded for probably a month now and I don’t have a subscription. I just went in to use it and now I can’t use the Paint or Reshape tool but I can “try” it. Is this what’s gonna happen with this app? The longer I have it, only using the the free tools it’s going to gradually start locking me out of the tools that were guaranteed free? That’s not fair at all and the app never says anything that implies that’s going to happen. I was in the middle of a project that was using those tools too. I feel that the app isn’t very clear either. Edit: NOW I CAN ONLY SAVE 3 PHOTOS A WEEK??!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This app is trash now! It’s barely even usable now! There is literally no point for me to use it. A new feature is no screenshots. I understand why you wouldn’t want that but at this point it just makes this app worse. You should really change it back to how it was. To make matters worse I haven’t received a response to this review when I’ve seen others recently get a response.

Must have for any social media pics. I absolutely LOVE this app. And paying the $4.99 a month is so worth it for all the extras you get. I have an Instagram account that I use for makeup and I hope to be an influencer at some point. This app has helped take my photos to the next level. You don’t have to change your face and make yourself look like someone you’re not, I’m not into that at all. But you can cover a blemish, fix your liner if it’s gotten smudged or faded, fix the tones of the pic (I use this a lot cause my iPhone can tend to wash me out) add lighting to the exact areas you want it in, smooth out pores, sharpen details and textures, and so so so much more. I could not be happier with this app and will be using it on every pic I upload. Won’t be looking for a better app causethis one just does it all :)

Disappointing Update. This has been my go to phone editing app for years. I am a professional photographer so I use this for my personal photos in order to get some of the same effects as photoshop. I used the “background” function to often times replace people’s faces if they were blinking. I would take an almost identical photo but with their eyes open as the “background” and then erase everything else so just their face got replaced. It came in super handy. However, a few months ago I updated the app and that function completely changed and became utterly useless anytime I try to use it. I can’t “fix” or “erase” the areas I want to no matter how much I adjust it. This function was one the main reasons I pay for the app so unfortunately if it’s not fixed I’ll probably stop subscribing and have to find another app alternative for this function.

The function for AI hair doesn’t work at all. If you have more than one person in the picture, it just doesn’t work they have a tool where you draw where you want the affected area but the problem is that the AI system they’re using is trash and the AI takes over the whole photo and starts adding in faces in different areas starts adding AI to the areas outside of the zone you want there’s no point on the drawing tool for the AI function if it doesn’t actually apply to that region. They need to fix that. They also need to fix the Ai make up, I just makes peoples faces look weird. There are a lot of other apps to do a much better job at AI make up an AI editing. This is an amazing editing app. Don’t get me wrong but the AI functions on it shouldn’t even be applied to the app yet because they’re nowhere near, figuring out how to make it work, user-friendly and it actually be affective with the desire of the editing.

One of my go to apps for retouching. This app is pretty amazing. It makes it incredibly easy to apply professional level effects to your photos. The most used for me are the "Relight" and "Eyes" tools. Unbelievable that such a powerful editing tool is in my pocket! I'm not a fan of SaaS, so I paid the one time price. Pretty expensive, but a bargain when compared to the cost of apps used by pros to accomplish these same types of effects. Just hoping it's continuously updated and I don't have to shell out again because Facetune 3 comes out. TL;DR Amazing app. Great features. Expensive. But still a bargain. Great job to everyone involved in creating this tool. You make me look like a rockstar when I take a picture, correct/enhance it in post and share it. My subjects are always amazed at how good their photo looks.

Revision: 40 dollar app robbery. Soooo I did what I said I’d do in my previous review. I just kept it since I have to have it for work & idk what the last update did but when you go to refine the size of something or completely fuzzes it out. You also messed with patching, say when needing to add a patch of hair somewhere else it is completely different from what it use to be it picks up the underneath of the part you are trying to cover and makes it look crazy. When patching it is also extremely frustrating to rotate an image or turn your selection because it changes the grain of the patch instead of what you are selecting. Again for your pompous 40 dollars your development delay is beyond lazy. I canceled this app four days ago after I noticed you were going to charge me 40 dollars for your stupid app. Not ever in my life would I pay that for an APP- once a year or not! You auto default people to that and even when they cancel it so it doesn’t go through you STILL PROCESS IT. Your app doesn’t even let you selectively touch up like your free one. You’re basically a super expensive Pixlr. Reversing the charge.

Veiled promises and unrequited love. I used to love you, but you’ve backed out on the very promises our vows we’re based upon 💔 I don’t want make this about money. It’s really about the kids. We only started out wanting two, but those two became so greedy that we had to take on second jobs to support them, and now we have no time left in our relationship for the love that started us. Now I don’t know if I even love our kids anymore… So the fun is over when I have to pay for what use to be a stellar, free app. Now the basic intuitive features of face “smoothing” and lighting and background editing are just trials, and if I still have to pay a monthly or annual fee for a subscription of mediocre cheap-looking effects. I keep checking back to see if these features have improved with upgrades/fixes and if there are improvements to the free setting. Not to date. I will continue reading pro-reviews to see if the subscription of $70 for this app outshines Photoshop and Lightroom subscriptions and learning curves.

My dad. Okay, I tried the new update thinking maybe I won’t have to write any complaints but..here we are. First, it didn’t make the app much better. I got on the app to edit my bestie slay queen friend’s picture cuz why not, and also she wanted me to edit her. And I thought, ‘Well, why don’t I just use Facetune to edit her?” Cuz it would be easier, right? Well, my toe lickers, boy, was I wrong! I kept on using the Fun Selfies AI and here are just a few flaws: 1: It freaking multiplied her fingers. Once, I counted TEN DARN FINGERS. 2: making her BLONDE. they have something against people with brown hair ;-; 3: the AI for making their outfit change just wasn’t making her outfit change.. 4: doubling her arm- ;-; And that’s only a goofy few! I mainly think they need to fix their dang AI. Anyway, I hope you found this helpful enough. I’m not saying don’t get the app! If you want a good laugh, download it, get a photo, and use some AI. I use to love this app. I started with the original, later paid for the second one and was quite happy with it even though periodically I had to relearn a feature because of an update or add on. Slowly the add ons became useless for me and the features I paid one time for weretaken away and replaced by an outrageous subscription to add back the useful features that took me some time to perfect along with all these newer items that were sub par and looked fake anyway. The best features were either taken away and now being charged again at a higher monthly rate or they were moved, modified or made less effective/ quality/ professional/believable/etc or buried in so many other layers of stuff that I quit using it. I try every now and then to see if they offer an alternative (closer to the facetune2 from a year ago at a reasonable price I would pay for using and be happy with). But its still leaning towards the canned presets and filters that so many others do. They used to-be so unique and semi-expert modifications could be made with precision that the professional apps could do with a lot less complicated processes. But I think they lost a lot of fans. Oh well maybe they will come out with a third one.

Newer features don’t work.. I’ve had so many problems with the new AI features tracking ANYTHING correctly. The hairstyle feature always makes hair look unreasonably fake or doesn’t map correctly and puts hair places where there should not be hair, and likewise with the background AI generator completely changing my face and making my shirt / shoulders part of the background. In addition to this, the makeup feature looks fake, like a bad Snapchat filter. There’s also a lot of inconsistency between the smoothness of photo editing vs video editing. It baffles me how this app still has such a good review ratio with how awful all these new features are. I will say, the app has good bones. The original features still work great, still run smoothly and face track properly. Lots of great filters to choose from and lots of slider-style editing features from the OG FT2 work beautifully. I just wish it stayed consistent over time. I’m so disappointing that I renewed my subscription for this.

Removing features …. So. For the original basic version, I could use the eraser and fill tool to select which areas I want colder, darker, saturated, and NOWWW it can only do the whole photo? HONESTLY, Why!? It ruins the functions a lot of us LOVED, in the original app. This should be able to do AT THE VERY LEAST, what the basic app could do. Lost phone in an accident, and had to replace previous version with this. I will gladly pay you $200 for the original app, that can do ANYTHING, easily, and quickly. PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO PURCHASE THE BASIC, instead of whatever useless app this is. I have used your previous app for YEARS, to adjust colors and lighting on photos of my paintings, and I am devastated, you guys took that away from me, and all of us other creatives that relied on the features BASIC had.

Updated vanish tool is really bad. I use the vanish tool for editing daily. Within the last couple of weeks they have updated the app and now the vanish tool does not work with just a touch. You have to actually swipe along the top of an area and it doesn’t blend anymore. So if you vanish some thing from your skin, for example, it’s discolors that section, and it used to just take away the object and blend. so now I can’t use vanish tool, which is unfortunate because you have to use patch instead and it takes a lot longer when there are a bunch of things that you want to edit. They have done this to the app once before a few years ago and thankfully fixed it but now we’re back in the same spot. This is unfortunate because it’s really bad. It’s not like it kind of works sometimes, it’s just an awful update, and they’ve ruined a perfectly good feature like vanish. The funny thing is that vanish is actually what they are all excited that they’ve updated and it’s atrocious 😂

Used to be amazing ... not so much now. This has been my go to app for all my pics I need to edit quickly and simply. Up until recent... there is such a lag when I select any editing options. Especially if I’m just using the single tap to see and compare the original image to the one that I’m working on with. It used to toggle quickly between the two with just a tap which saved me a ton of time. This lag time is when working on the pic.... you could actually count to 3 while waiting for the selection to make the change. This app also won’t let you “patch” completely. It’s always transparent but I’m trying to get rid of an unwanted object in the photo, I literally can’t because you can still see the object through the transparent patched area. Lastly and very importantly... please fix this thing that makes it so I can’t edit any the bottom portion of my photo .... because the edited tools are in the way... the tools can’t be moved or minimized so in order for me to edit my photo at the bottom I have to turn my photo upside down just to reach the bottom part. Please fix these things! I used to LOVE this app but as of late I’ve been looking for another one that doesn’t have all these time consuming and frustrating issues. I should also add that I’ve been a paid member for several years.

Destroyed photo + need email all of a sudden for support?. I went back to the app after editing a photo. I was maybe exited out of the app for 20 minutes and when I entered again and went to edit the same photo I thought it obviously saved. My changes to the photo had been permanently altered, and I had not completely exited out of the app or refreshed it. Instead of the regular photo it was supposed to save, it saved a weird screenshot including some of the editing tools inside the photo. I had the blue curve marks permanently around my face from when I was previously editing my same photo. I also had the rest of the options for tools and editing options taking up most of the top and bottom of the photo. My face was the only part of the photo that was visible and the original photo included my whole entire body. I tried contacting support but it told me that I needed to two add an email to my account. From the beginning I have logged in with my gmail account email and password to use the app, because of this requested email issue I have searched the settings and found there is no option to add an email; therefore I cannot contact support about this issue. I am currently paying for the monthly membership and to experience these issues is inconvenient. Hopefully someone will reach out to me about this issue. Thank you.

Worst App and support who only cares about making more money of of you. I have paid a lot of money for this app in order to unlock all the app features and have been using it, but what this app does beside the face they have the same edit and design as lot of other app. They add new features which sometime is the only reason you paid lots of money for it, but they want to find way to still charge you more so they remove the best features and change them with an Ai Avatar generator which is the same on all app are adding them now and now they want you to pay again for every time you want to use this and not just that they have removed the text to image that was there before as a part of the app. Another trick they do if not now eventually like they did before is change the name of the app so now you very expensive app you bought have no more support and updates and if you want you have to pay again like they did with Facetune and then Facetune 2, and soon to be a 3. Don’t bother downloading and using you can get the same edits and avatar today on all the other app that some also still Ofer text to speech. Scammers

Yearly Subscription?. I have the basic Facetune but decided to also purchase this Facetune for the added features the original doesn’t have but I found myself going back to the original one because I found it easier to work with. So today I decided to go into this app and the first thing I see is where you’re asked to sign up to a subscription?!? Excuse me but why should pay for a subscription on an app I paid to use?!? Like another reviewer said and I agree.. I am not paying for another subscription to add yet another subscription and squeeze it into my budget, not fair!! For if you didn’t know not all the ppl using this app is an influencer who have enough money to throw away if they please. You made enhancements to the app well my opinion is this why not create a totally new app with all the added features and let it be well known that whoever installs will be charged and signing up to a yearly subscription.

Can do pretty much nothing for free.. It is pretty terrible. The app works and all but in order to do anything you have to buy a membership like OMG WHAT!?! I tried to edit one photo but every time I tried to save the photo it it pulled up the join membership page. This app said u could use it and it would be for free but you really can’t. I just wanted to play around with some photos but I can’t. I tried to take screenshots of the photos but because of lines they added around your face I can’t have a good looking photo. Honestly the app is dumb. I would understand having to some money for things you want to use but not have a membership I was going to use this app what twice every three months? But now I am deleting the app. It is useless to me. At least if u r going to have the membership thing show what u have to have a membership to use. Also what about the people that already bought everything? Now they can’t use it unless they also buy the membership. There are plenty of free app editors that I can use instead. I would try out the original Face-tune but it already costs money and I have no clue wether I need a membership there too. This app was a waste of my time. I had to put it at least a one star but honestly this is a zero star from me.

facetune 1 is way better. I have had facetune ever since james Charles recommended it and i truly loved it. It was only like $5 and it came with everything i needed. Facetune 2 ruins it for me. You have to pay $6 a month or $70 for a one time payment! Now all of a sudden the original facetune isn't letting me update it because of changes that were made or something. I honestly wish facetune 2 was similar to the original facetune. Your not even getting that much out of facetune 2, there are several apps i can do the same thing for free. I would much rather have facetune 2 be like the original facetune, where you pay for the app and everything is included. For now i will be sticking to the original facetune. This one is super overpriced which in my opinion makes it worse. You guys should've have jumped into monthly and yearly payments and continued to have us pay for the app outright. It's going downhill :( . I was super happy at first seeing it was free and thinking i would only have to pay like $5 in the app but wow i was wrong.

There’s some cool ai edits but not worth the price as is. I do like the auto ai enhancing at a low % like 20% so you still look like yourself with a little ✨ added. It seems like it’s the same price as face app however I do like face app more because there’s better options for hair like to add volume. I like to add little enhances to my photos but at like 1/5 or about 10-20% of the full effect because I like to still look like myself. This app could be better if they fixed and add more options for hair and also lets you adjust the % or level of each edits/effects more. I had a year subscription of the FaceApp app and it’s time to renew and I was debating between the two for the price however I think I would use more of the face app app so I’ll continue with that app until one day face tune has the same features or better. Hoping it’ll happen one day because I do like the AI auto hence at 20%. I also wish you guys would give more free edit effects to entice people to use your app more like the ‘airbrush’ app. That’s a good one for you guys who like editing apps, I use that without a subscription and they have a lot of free features on there like their auto hence. Hope you guys will open up more free features!

Kicks me out. Yeah guys, I write a LOT reviews on apps and this isn’t my first time so…… whatever! Alright, this app KICKS ME OUT OF IT! It’s very annoying! Change it! Another thing is, this app isn’t free! You can do a free trial but, like I said in my last review, my mom goes crazy when I ask for her to get me started on a free trial. And I’m not paying for this😡. It’s not worth your money. So what happened to me once on this app is, I pressed hair cut and I saw a bob cut and I was like omg, I’m gonna try this one. And I did. I had a white shirt on when I took the pic and it changed my shirt! It kept the white color on it but it made my shirt a turtleneck shirt! The bob cut looked fake too! And another time I was doing the button that said change hairstyle. I pressed it and guess what, it changed the hairstyle and it looked really pretty 🤩 but the was a hand in the hair that looked like it was feeling the hairstyle! It was a hand in the way oh the HAIRSTYLE! I honestly thought it was creepy! I didn’t delete this app yet but fix it before I do!!!

Original user. I was a original user and either the app was free or I did pay a one time fee for the app. Been so long ago that I can’t remember but the Apple Store does because am able to write a review. I believe I had to stop because of the new charges. I believe that I should be grandfathered into at least the basic or any add on that I had. I don’t believe in these apps that you purchased or was free to start this charging to people who was there from the beginning. But I just went ahead and try downloading this app again. There was a free trial so I uploaded one picture. But after I was done and realized again that my past usage wasn’t going to count. I decided to not use the app but wanted to delete the picture. The problem was I was unable to delete the picture and that option was in red so I think it was unavailable. Hopefully they do not keep the picture in their database under the trial usage. So beware if you take this app for a test spin.

Ripoff!! They removed features I paid for!!. I subscribed to the original Facetune a while ago. It had everything I needed. I previewed the new Facetune 2 when it came out, but decided I was good with the one that I had already paid for. I guess I wasn’t alone because they started forcing advertisements for the new version in the original app. My paid version was supposed to be add free. Annoying, but whatever. I just found out with this last update, they removed features I have already paid for and use regularly. They are now asking me to sign up for a monthly plan to get it back. Huh?!? I PAID FOR THEM ALREADY! I will be deleting Facetune and refuse to upgrade. I know they are trying to force me to pay a monthly fee instead of the fixed cost. Even if I have to pay someone a monthly fee, I will gladly do it so as not to give Facetune my money. Do not get this app. It has decent features but they will most likely rip you off at some point. 🤬

It’s a mess. First let me say the actual editing tools work well and the product has a lot of really incredible capabilities. The problem is that it makes every administrative action a complete frustration. The newest update just straight up will not save my edited photos to my camera roll. When it did work it strangely saved the edited photos in whatever chronological place the original photo was saved, rather than as the most recent photo in the camera roll—so you’d have to scroll back to wherever the original was saved to check that the edited version was saved there. Also, deleting current projects is more complicated than it should be, and on the news this are also just straight up does not work. I deleted a project, but it wouldn’t remove it, I exited and came back, it’s still there, I tried again to deists but now it doesn’t have the option to delete it anymore. Saving and deleting your photos should be basic and easy—especially when you are paying so much! I am coming to the end of my annual subscription and won’t be renewing, it’s just a total mess!

I have had this app for a long time. I have loved this but all of a sudden it dose not work . I have asked for help they just give me a lot of junk that only a lawyer could read When it has worked I really loved it but right now I so upset because I can’t get it to work . It’s a google app and they want me to buy an upgrade. When it works it’s a 4 Star now it’s a one star! This app contact me to clarify what was going on. The error was mine not theirs. I still don’t fully understand as I use the app for a very long time. But it appears that I had not paid for that app so I appreciated them contacting me and clarifying what was going on. I would give this app a very strong 5 stars and do appreciate contact with them with clear and easy to understand information about what had been going on

Too many subscriptions. I have had this app for a very long time. It was my go-to app for touching up photos, changing filters, etc. but recently they updated the app and you are now forced to be a subscriber (meaning you have to pay) for certain options that originally, for a very long time, were free. I supposed that the creators of the app started catching on to the fact that some people were screenshotting their edited photos so as to not have to pay the ridiculous subscription fee (I don’t blame them for trying to screen shot anything. It’s ridiculous that you have to pay an outrageous price for something that was once free) and now you can’t even do that. If you try to screenshot it, a message pops up saying something along the lines of “nice try!” Or “it was worth a shot!” And telling you that you have to subscribe and pay a fee for that certain feature. Like I said before, I was a long time user of this app, I had it even before they switched it to “Facetune2”. But now with all these restrictions and fees, I have deleted the app and will no longer use it again unless they remove these recent restrictions and “features”. I hope this was helpful for anyone who plans on using it. It’s not a bad app if you’re willing to pay the outrageous amount they ask for small features.

Fantastic editor. Horrid layout. This app offers more features and tools to edit your most priced photos. Weather it is your kids , pets and loved ones, the app gets precise and Powerful editing abilities that most others do not. However having that said , the navigation layout is horrendously clumsy. The original navigation layout for photos was much more organic and fluid. From loading freshly picked photos ready to edit in a pinch , it seems like now you have to tediously go back and fourth through unnecessary menus and drop down tabs . Just to get to your favorite tagged photos . There’s to much going on and it interrupts the user experience by managing though the thick and bulky layout of this app as it stands right now. Originally when the app was in its growing popular popularity stage , the menu layout from the start was easy to navigate , straight forward to editing your most recent pieces of works . Now it prioritizes their other user products such as the newly infant staged video editor . For now I’ll keep using , for other developers that know how to design welcoming UI take a note. 3 stars until the issue is improved

Used to love this app but now it’s just becoming greedy. I’ve used this app for many years. Probably dating back to 2016 and editing it for all my makeup photos. Over the years I have slowed down on using it a lot, but I still use it on occasion. It has got to a point where the app is just pushing to pay for it. They added the watermark that now requires a paid subscription to remove, which was never there before. But now I just go to save a photo and I edited two photos for my friend for her, and got a notification that it was my last weekly save? That’s crazy. I understand this app has blown up over the years and has gotten bigger and has added new features, along with inflation and the cost of living, but getting to a point where apps nowadays are pushing people to the point that they have to make a purchase is such a turnoff for me. I don’t edit photos enough anymore to make any paid app worth it with my budget. I am going to be on the hunt for a new app and will be uninstalling this one, unfortunately.

Nothing but a scam!!. Signed up for free trial and next day after exploring the features decided to cancel the free trail as not what I was looking for. There is no option to cancel free trials on this app. Could not find the option to cancel. Search in app gives you directions to go to account then to cancel and there is no such function. The only thing close is an option to delete the app but clearly states if you delete the app you will still be charged. I Googled in how to cancel facetune and it gave me the same directions. Also found numerous complaints from others on not being able to cancel the free trial and being charged. People also stated they sent emails thru the support app and never got any response. I never received a receipt so could not call my credit card company or Apple Pay until the charge showed up as pending. Pretty slick app feature guaranteed to steal your money. I sent an email the day after signing up for free trial stating there was no way to cancel the free trial and wanted it cancelled—-surprise no response!!! Just charged me instead. Others noted the same thing and ended up having to pay the subscription fee. My charge came thru on Apple Pay so called Apple Support and they helped me cancel the charge. I luv Apple!!! Told Apple they need to remove this app from the App Store due to the apps nefarious practice would give them zero stars if I could.

loss of control with a.i. updates... ugh. There was a point I was once able restore old photographs - and enhance new - using this app with ease. I loved the ability to adjust the range of a filter or editing tools... even if it took a little extra work. Unfortunately, with every update to various features, the app as whole has somehow progressively gotten worse? In example, instead of simply adding the ability to use a.i. when using a tool (like hair color or clothing) along with the manual controls, any ability to select the range or literally anything aside from intensity was completely removed and replace by a.i. I'm hoping this is a temporary thing and developers are working on a way to have both "automatic (a.i.)" and "manual (user controlled)" functions on tools... but it seems unlikely given this app's history. Basically, I'm just disappointed and bummed because the creativity and fun I one experienced using this app is gone.

Not worth the financial investment. I do like the app, especially for things like removing acne from an otherwise good picture… or people. However my skin has cleared and I’m in therapy to remove myself from people I don’t want in photos. The point is that I no longer need the app so I canceled my subscription and deleted the app a couple months ago. I thought my child had put it back on my phone when I saw the charge for $7.99 on my card.. but when I looked it appears that they’ve still been taking my money. I needed a little money for gas and the second I loaded my card, Facetune2 charged me $15 immediately. Again, I no longer use or subscribe to the app. Why are you charging me let alone taking double the monthly amount? I did try to dispute it so I guess we’ll see how that goes. Would I have recommended the app before this? 100% yes. Now? Probably not. Shady.

Bait and Switch.... They used to have free features, still do, BUT now a lot of what used to be FREE for the 2 years I’ve been using it, they changed to now have you buy their subscription or pay the outrageous one time price. It’s fine if you want to have paid features, but they shouldn’t change from being free to having to pay for them all of a sudden. It’s messed up. You use it for 2 years, get used to the things you like, learn how to use them, and then all of a sudden 2 years later you have to pay for what you used to get free. I understand having to pay for certain features, but if other features were free for so long, why now should I pay for them??? Honestly, at first I was like, well I’ll just pay. But then I looked at the prices. Subscription for this app is crazy...the one time fee is even more ridiculous. The features are no where near worth that. There’s apps that do what this does and more and do them better for that price. Unfortunately Facetune has gained such popularity they think it’s okay to do this. It’s not.

The makeup features and Subscriptions. FaceTune, I used the app to practice makeup, not to pay to draw makeup on a character/human. The tools also won’t help or won’t attach to the right place when it’s clear and solid so it should. You also have way to many payed items to the point where you can literally just make your character smile and have glowing hair and some people really wanna practice makeup, now FaceTune 1 may have the feature but I am looking forward for FaceTune 2. I hate how almost everything you have to pay for. No one will use your app because how everything you have to pay. I’m 100% sure it had way better reviews when the new features of the subscription’s or blah blah blah wasn’t out. I still really hate how I can’t even practice makeup on a human!? You really think I will buy subscription’s no way! I don’t care if it’s 3 dollars I’m still mad because some people want it’s free because they don’t have the money! Sorry if the review didn’t make since or if it was mean but no one is gonna use your app if you have your subscriptions like this any longer so I recommend you change the app. ~Thank you for reading

All the good features you now have to pay for. I’ve been a long time user of this app like probably over three years and recently the tools i used the most and LOVED you now have to pay for. The reason why I had Facetune 2 instead of normal facetune is because I didn’t want to pay money for an editing app like this. Limiting the features unless you pay literally defeats the purpose of the whole “factune 2”cheaper app idea. if you’re willing to spend (wayyy too) money on an editing app like this, just get normal Factune. I’m deleting this app now because the only features it provides are features you can get on a million other apps. It’d be a different story if i didn’t have all the features before and had to pay for the good features from the start (i would have deleted the app right away if i had to pay for the good stuff anyway) but they were mostly free and then taken away which why I’m upset. It changed for no reason besides getting an extra buck. I’d like to hear a response for the purpose of having two apps that do the same thing for more money.

So.... Overall, it's fine. There's nothing wrong with the effects if they're used correctly. My biggest problem comes from the subscription fees. I use mobile photoshop constantly with peoples faces and it feels almost insulting to see that the only things available for non-payers to use are the things that are already available in photoshop, while the only things that bring anything remotely new to the table requires paying for a fee that is either: completely insane for a mobile app or one that seems small, but when you eventually forget it exists it piles up and slowly drains your bank account. At least the first Facetune one was a one-and-done $3.99 deal. I'll admit, some tools are very well done and are much easier to use for people with less experience in the whole "face editing field". But those things fall short when you realize you have to sell your soul for these minor conveniences. I'm willing to put in a little extra effort in order to get just as desirable results.

not as good as before. I used to really, really like using this app for its free options. The retouch options were (and still are) mostly available, as were the reshape, and the paint option was probably my favorite, because there was so much you could do with it, from changing lighting on the face, fixing skin discoloration, or touching up or adding makeup. It was a game changer, and I couldn’t find another app that matched it in that regard. I really relied on the retouch and paint features, the latter especially, and were the main reason I used and recommended the app to others. Now that it’s added new features and rendered some of those previously mentioned features - namely the paint option - only available through subscription, I’m enjoying it a lot less and looking into using other apps. I’m sure that the newer features would be useful to some people, but I kind of wish that I could have a choice to opt out of them + just retain use of the previous gestures without purchase. Idk. My rating went down a star because of these new added “perks” that are, in my opinion, a lot less useful.

It’s.. not really free. Okay, I downloaded this app for fun. But I also thought it would be fun to just mess around with photos and make photos of myself... well... BETTER... So if you are reading this review before downloading this, the app itself might be free but to get all the good stuff you have to pay. Okay, MOST of the stuff you have to pay for! I would NOT recommend this for someone who is not willing to pay money (like me) and I know, you are probably telling me that “not everything is going to be free” and I know! I’m just saying most of the stuff you have to pay for which leads to some people deleting it (like me). Also, I have tried some of the stuff you have to pay money for for free, and some of the stuff isn’t even good! It looks totally weird and photoshopped and looks unprofessional. Although some of the stuff works wonders and is really good. But I’m not sure if you are getting what you are paying for. Your paying for good quality! Not bad quality! So these are things I am saying. Someone might have totally different thoughts on this game. But I will give this a two star. I deleted this but I am willing to try it again if things gets fixed. ⭐️⭐️

AI is not worth it.. I love using this app for touching up photos so I was really excited to try the AI avatars. It’s my 66 year old father’s birthday and I thought some funny pictures of him would make him chuckle. I uploaded all 20 photos of my father with different expressions like they suggested and after about 2 hours (not the 20-40 minutes it said it would take) I got a package of 200 avatars of anybody but my father. Some avatars were of prepubescent girls, some were of women in their 20’s. Others were men in their 30’s who looked absolutely nothing like my dad. If it hadn’t been for 2 (out of the 200) avatars that actually did look like my dad, I would have thought I was getting a look at the pictures before they were blended with my dad’s likeness. I get that every picture is not going to work out but, charging for 200 when you only get 2 is just wrong. Again, great for photo editing, but I’d go somewhere else, anywhere else for avatars.

Update Issues. So I use this app all the time to edit images I create in other apps, I’ve genuinely learned more about digital art using this process but I’m legitimately concerned about a recent update that might make Facetune significantly useless as a tool. I’m subsided and pay for the full use of the app on top of this which makes it more disappointing. The update that I’m talking about is the one that has changed the hair editing software, specifically in the hairstyles tool. The update has drastically downgraded the quality of the hairstyle as well as the amount of options it used to offer. The current hairstyle tool actually makes my images more fuzzy and gives them poorer quality after edit so I can’t really see myself using this newly updated hairstyling tool at all. This is basically my plea to have the previous version of the hairstyle tool restored cause this just isn’t it, it’s somehow so much less advanced and so disappointing.

Disappointed. I never write reviews but i had to for this app. i’ve been using this app for YEARS and have always loved what it can do, but after they updated it and are charging people just to use their basic features is getting annoying. All i wanted to do was use the retouch feature for a few pictures i've been wanting to post. after editing, i realized that I can’t even save more than 3 photos A WEEK! i had accidentally saved the same photos twice so now i only have one “free save of the week” left. you’re telling me i’m limited to how many pictures I can save and edit?!? I also tried saving a picture and i didn’t know that Facetune now watermarks your photos. Who wants that on your instagram feed? i tried to screenshot the picture but it didn’t let me do that either and said “nice try, upgrade… blah blah blah” overall, very disappointed with how this app turned out. i deleted it right after. So now i’m trying to find a new app, does anyone have suggestions?

I’m so disappointed.. I NEVER write reviews but I’m so disappointed about the updated Facetune 2. This app was one of the best photo editing apps that I have ever seen. I usually use Adobe Photoshop (with my school acc) to edit my photography. However, the app for Adobe Photoshop is really confusing to me. Facetune 2 offered a free app that provided an easy-to-use Photoshop application to fix everyday pictures and make them look high quality. Then, they got greedy and decided to “make some things cost money” in order to provide new tools. The new tools are not relevant and nearly as usable as the ones that used to be free. Listen, the free version of Facetune 2 always had in-app purchases, which is totally understandable; Until they made the most crucial tools cost money. For example, the paint tool is a great way to brighten backgrounds subtly and enhance vibrant colors in pictures. It gave you free range to edit your hair color, eye color, shirt color, sky color, car color, etc. Then they decided to make it offered to members only. They did this with all the popular/needed tools and now the app is useless. I’ve switched back to Photoshop and FaceApp (which is free). I’m just so disappointed with the updates, maybe if they ever go back I’ll re-download. Until then it’s 0 stars from me.

Way too pricy. I’m really disappointed that facetune decided to go with a subscription model. I probably wouldn’t even mind it too much if it wasn’t this expensive! I’m so tempted to buy this app but honestly every time I just have to remind myself it’s not worth it. At the price of $70 I might as well get photoshop on my computer. And what bothers me the most was that at one point the app was available for one time payment of $30 and when I checked back later they had bumped it up to $70 ?? I was so SHOOK that they bumped the price up so much and it discouraged me from buying this app. A subscription model for an app like this in my opinion isn’t worth it. And the only perk old face tune users get is a one month free trial! No discount on the full version, nothing. 🙏🏼 If only I still had the opportunity to purchase this app for $30 (NOT YEARLY) I’d gladly throw my money at facetune but I don’t and I’m not spending $70 so I guess :S I’ll just continue to be upset over it and hopefully some day another app that’s just as good will come out that’s reasonable priced.

Used to be one of my favorite apps. Before this new development, I would have given this app a 5 star rating. It was my favorite app to use to edit pictures of people. It was great and you could really develop a knack for it if you practiced as much as I did. But then today, I went on there to edit a picture and I noticed that two VERY basic editing tools are now payed function only. They had always been free to use and you could pay for other things like backdrop and glitter and auto-fixes. Facetune 2 took away reshaping AND paint. Paint is very useful for making things more colorful or even changing the color of things and color correcting things you are editing out,, as well as many other uses. These two functions were the main ones I used along with smoothing and now facetune has taken them away for a stupid fee. I would go to facetune 1, but even that requires a payment to use. I will not be using facetune anymore and I do not recommend other people do unless they want to pay for the most basic editing tools.

Only good features = $$$$$. Have been using this app for years. A while ago they took away the extra smoothing feature from the list of free applications. Was really quite annoying but continued to use for the other good features. Now reshape and paint tool are no longer free meaning the only feature most people will use with the free app is just basic smoothing? And who wants a whole app just for that? Would not mind paying for the extra features if they were not RIDICULOUSLY over priced. $55 a year?!!! Such a rort and such an insensitive time to make this update during COVID 19. So disappointing after using for years, have lost a long time user.

photo loading error. I've been using this app for years since the first facetune app and I love it, but I have an issue so pleade read this! I use the annual vip membership for facetune and facetune video and the app suddenly stopped working and the pictures will just simply not load..I see the loading icon loading forever and ever, tried restarting the phone, updated the app as well and still the same. Please help me fix this issue..I am not using this app for free so it would be quite unfortunate if I can't use the app anymore because it really is my favorite photo app!

One time $109 payment .. what is it??? ... I can’t find anywhere to clarify what 1 time Payment means or the terms . Is it for a lifetime? Does it include all upgrades, even if it gets renamed because of a major release ie FaceTime 3? Can someone direct me to where the T&c’s are because I have searched everwhere for the “fine print” If it includes what I mentioned above, why wouldn’t I do that??? crazy. honestly loved this app the past few years, helped get rid of details that i didn’t want on a picture, was easy to screenshot a photo or save an edited photo of MYSELF but at this point the stuff you’ve made “subscription only” is crazy, why do you make it so expensive? it’s insane honestly. just went to edit the “baby loading” on my shirt off cause i don’t want people knowing just yet and i couldn’t even go past the “done” section without getting asked to pay for it 💀 yall need to think through what you do lol. that is all ✨

Gone to trash. Had this app for years and it’s always been my favourite editing app. Never paid for subscription as I’ve never wanted to use what the subscription offers. Only to find out this week that you now can only have 3 FREE SAVES per week… AND there’s a watermark? What a joke this app has turned in too. How money hungry can you be? There’s already so many users of this app, we know that you don’t need MORE money. In this literal cost of living crisis this kind of behaviour from an app is gross. So disappointed. What a joke

Stuck like that. I have had this app for a while now and it’s a good app, but it on my Home Screen it looks like it’s updating as it has that loading grey cover over it (letting me know how far along the update is) well it’s stuck like that. It has been “updating” for over 24hours now but it looks like it’s almost done but it’s not, it’s stuck like that and I can’t open the app I can’t delete the app, it’s just stuck like that and I dont know what to do or how to undo that. Please fix this glitch!

Stupid Orwellian app. Why do I have to pay to contort myself in funny ways. I used to have great fun just playing around and being able to screenshot dumb pictures in bad quality with the background app hack. WHY WOULD YOU PATCH IT. I can’t believe people are insecure enough to pay for this and actually use it genuinely. I thought Facetune was a joke???????? Unfortunately one that pays the price. I’m poor and I wanna have fun so screw you. And in this economy! Do you not feel bad? You’re a successful app, why do you feel the need to be so greedy? Will not work at all. Dear Developer I have been using Facetune 2 for a few years and I have been a full member subscriber so I could access all features. But when I went to click onto the App today it keeps switching off within a second. I have tried removing the Apo from my iPhone and then downloading it again to refresh but still it’s not working. It seems like there’s a glitche and it will not load or open. My yearly subscription just ran out on May 23rd this year and I want to renew my subscription but I cannot without being able to open the App. Can you please advise if there is a system glitche with using Facetune 2 on iPhones.

Hard to cancel subscription.. The instructions on how to cancel the subscription state you should go into your mange account tab the select cancel, but there is no cancel tab. It’s does not exist. I emailed to see see if they can assist and I never heard back. Now I am over my free 7 day trial period and I have been forced to purchase the app. I knew within 15 mins of using it that I didn’t want to continue with the 7 day trial and I still can’t cancel the subscription. What is the point of a 7 day fee trial if you can’t easily opt out. Not impressed at all.

You can’t save your photo without the watermark!!!. I don’t know when this change occurred but literally every tool requires a subscription. I’m not wasting $120 a year to get access to options that should have stayed free. The only things I’ve seen that don’t need your money are the smooth and vibrancy tools. Anything else I clicked on brought up the “VIP ONLY” message like not even the touch up tools are free?!?!? I do not appreciate the change and I’m sure many other people don’t. Not everyone who uses your app are rich influencers, I think you need to consider your other demographics. Even when I was paying, it was only $6 a month and now that’s gone up to $15? Make it make sense.

why???. I’ve used this app for so many years and it was amazing because of all the free features. Why is it that there are so many tools that were free before but now need to be upgraded to VIP to use? How is that fair to consumers? If one day every tool we used to always use has to be paid for, then everyone who downloads this app hoping to use tools to enhance their photos, will delete it right after seeing that it needs to be paid for. This was honestly such a good app before it decided to change, although there are available packages, it’s really not worth it just to enhance photos unless you’re an influencer and even then, they’re most likely to use photoshop on the computer rather than the app. This update is understandable because of a company’s need to earn money but is horrible for consumers because it is severely overpriced, I don’t even take enough photos to edit, let alone pay $5 per month just to edit 1 photo. Like i said, this was a super good app but I think it’s time to change to another.

Money money money. Developers of this app should be ashamed. Horrible app given that literally any useful effect that can’t be achieved with the stock photos app it behind a paywall makes it almost predatory - sure the app can be *downloaded* for free, but it doesn’t actually do anything the apple photos app can’t do for (actually no money) free. Equivalent to saying you can sit in the car for free, but you have to buy it before you test drive It’s a really terrible experience for new users. I used the app for literally a minute and immediately deleted it. Y’all should google ‘value proposition’, because you’re not very good at providing one. Cue canned response about how it’s a free app and they aren’t FORCING you to buy it ⬇️

Unacceptable and misleading billing practices. This app charged me $65 while I was still on a free trial, even though I cancelled the trial in time. That alone is unacceptable. When I contacted support, their explanation was even worse: apparently the app and the website “don’t talk to each other”, so if you sign up on both, you’re billed twice. That is not the customer’s problem — it’s a serious flaw in their system. Customers should not be punished or charged because a company can’t integrate its own platforms properly. If your app and website operate separately, that needs to be clearly disclosed upfront, not used as an excuse after taking people’s money. This feels misleading, poorly designed, and borderline predatory. I did everything correctly on my end and was still charged. I do not recommend this app unless you’re happy to risk unexpected charges and deal with dismissive support. Proceed with extreme caution.

No.. It’s unfair how you have to pay for it because I thought this app was actually good until I saw the VIP thing. It’s useless, because you need a lot more tools to actually make a photo look ‘good’ .There is no point in getting this app when you have to pay for it and waste your money and time. DON’T waste your money by getting this app because not everyone is a professional at photoshop and don’t waste your time by getting it and realising oh, it’s expensive to get the good features and then delete it. Not everyone knows how to use this app ‘properly’. Others may think differently about this but it’s most likely because they are rich. Facetune 2 has to realise not everyone has the money for buying these tools. I’m not saying this app is bad, I’m saying it’s not worth it. I wish I could give 0 stars

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. If I could give minus 5 stars I would. This app may offer a free trial period but it’s a trap! I found out the hard way the trial period is a trick to get you to download the app, then they automatically charge you! Its not a subscription so you can’t cancel it, it automatically deducts your money! $110 for a trial period and app that I have no interest in. BTW Apple reject your request for a refund because it’s a one off payment and not a subscription so they ASSUME you were aware of the purchase, although you’re NOT because the app download process blatantly lied about a free trial period before purchase with no way of cancelling it!

Sooo Disappointed 😔. I’ve had this app for a few years, and I’m not gonna lie it was great! That was until vip came and I was so upset! You can barley do anything without “vip” coming up. And I’m also shocked that filters come with vip. I can easily go to photos and do my filter there. Also, I was going to get vip and get the “one time purchase” until I saw it was $109. That’s crazy! And a waste of money. There are many other photo apps better than this! Also, I’ve heard that you can’t keep your money and can’t use any features when you buy! You take peoples money which is unfair and greedy. I also see you have other games, which cost money again. Do you only care about money? I know you must’ve worked hard on this but I expected more. Overpriced garbage. Original Facetune was something like one off fee of $5 to use forever, tries to charge $109 one off fee for their second app you are literally hilarious to think you can rip off people like that!!! The fee for once month is still even more expensive than original app one off fee 🤣🤣 don’t care if you’ve upgraded the app and added a couple extra features I’m pretty sure you can actually go and buy a REAL photoshop tool for a cheaper price! Best to just use the original facetune app and pay for the one off fee if it is still cheap!!

Scam. Downloaded and subscribed to the free trial but cancelled the free trial straight away as I only needed it for 1 thing. Next thing I receive a receipt for $35. I emailed asking them to refund me and they said there is no web purchase with my email so are unable to refund me. I provided proof of a receipt and proof I cancelled the free trial and then they said a refund was being issued and that if I hadn’t received it within 5-10 days to contact them. So I emailed them again and then they said I didn’t classify for a refund even though they said they would issue me one. Not happy at all. Scammers.

Features constantly removed. This could be a great app if they would stop removing the features that make it great! First the filters were removed and replaced with very basic filters, now the lighting filters have been downgraded only a few months after much better lighting filters were launched. As a paying customer, it is REALLY frustrating when the feature that we use the most are suddenly removed and replaced with lower quality options.

Completely useless now. This is bait.. This app was great. I get that the developers wanted to make something out of developing an app that fixes imperfections and gives people their dream body or face. But it got to a point where you can’t even use the most basic features anymore. What’s the point if it’s advertised as free on the App Store but when you access it, you have to pay an unreasonable amount of money? I’d rather watch ads to access features than having to pay for an app. The whole appeal of this app was because you got to make modifications without having to access photoshop, but now it’s just not worth it. Good job lightricks. You’re going to lose customers if you keep this up.

Powerful and easy to use!. Love love love Facetune! It’s so easy to use with lots of editing options. It may not be the most feature rich app, but it makes up for that by being so easy and reliable to use. One feature that would make the app even better would be an AI-based object remover. Currently there is only an eraser and patch option, but introduced some AI to improve the quality would be a welcome introduction.

Free trial is deceiving. I signed up for the 7 day free trial for this app because I have the original Facetune and use it often. I didn’t find I used this during the free trial and went to delete prior to the end of the trial, on the last day in fact. However I found I had been charge the annual fee prior to my free trial ending. It was charged the morning on the 7th day and I went to delete the app only an hour later. That 1 hour cost me a lot of money and I now have an app that I will not use for a whole 12 months. I tried to contact the app provider, however I have not had a response. Disappointing. If you do sign up for the free trial it’s actually a 6 day trial FYI! When it tells you the date the trial ends, that is the morning you will be charged, you don’t have the whole day.

Worst application of AI. Hire people to do this 🙄. I downloaded to play atound with hairstyles and colour after seeing an ai ad on facebook. After having to GIVE MY PAYMENT DETAILS, i opened the app and took some pics to adjust my hair and hair colour. The hair styles are very limited, only a handful of female very mainstream/basic/ugly hairstyles. I wanted to see a buzzcut on my head, and also change my current hair colour around. I have dreads and the app just short circuited itself. I got some okay shots of the colours against my skintone but the ai changed my actual hair as well as the colour, and just didnt do anything competently. This is a waste of resourses for a bot that doesnt work. Hire human people to create WORKING filters for you. Especially since you wanna take payment details to access the app! How many people have forgotten about the free trial, i wonder? Ai is not for this. Gross misuse of technology tbh.

To whom this may concern. I bought this app years ago. I bought all it’s full features it cost me roughly about $30 I did have the free version in the beginning just to see if I liked it and then I bought the full version with all the features and it was supposed to be mine forever to keep because I paid for it. I paid for the whole app the whole license to have it. Now, When I wanted to use it again I couldn’t find it on my phone which was odd to me but didn’t think much of it I thought maybe I might’ve deleted by accident off my phone so I downloaded it again now I don’t understand why I have to pay for a subscription when I’ve already paid for the whole license to keep it forever and use it whenever I want to. What happened am I able to get the features back because I have paid for the whole entire apps license? I’m not very happy. I want my money back if I can’t have the app the way I used to have it, please can you sort this out? I don’t wanna pay for a subscription when I’ve paid for the whole license. it’s not fair. I want my money back if that’s how the game goes. i’m just saying when you buy something you shouldn’t have to pay for it again and again and again.

So effective. Amaze your friends with your newly found talented camera skills that this app allows you to gain, using the effective editing tools you can change the look of your skin, apply makeup, change face shape and edit background. The editing tools are easy to use yet set a high standard for your photos. You can even edit live on video setting now and make your self look flawless in all conditions!

Missing features. Was loving this app for the Live Photo feature where you could upload a photo and it would give you more AI poses. Quite disappointed it’s been taken away, I did pay for the year plan because I found it so useful. Will it be coming back? If not, I probably will not keep this app.

Photoshop Is totally free!. Literally used to use the free version of this app to just change saturations of foregrounds and matte the skin when looking photos looked greasy. New addition of watermark on photos for free for functions other apps offer for free is so silly. I recommend everyone who doesn’t want to pay exorbitant prices for “free” features on this app check elsewhere like Adobe Photoshop Don’t waste your money with a company trying to leverage things that are freely available on the market already for a $100 yearly subscription. 😂 Adding this on since you can’t respond to the developers response. The word free defines no strings attached, no cost. Your “free” functions come at the cost of a watermark, exactly why I said “free” features. My point is you can have all the free and premium functions of this app on Photoshop with literally no cost so it is actually free. So I recommended other users move, since your company is trying to push to pay for a subscription by adding strings to “free” features which are open on the market.

Awesome!. I used the original Facetune app for many years and loved it, and I have to say this new version is pretty great too! I only feedback really is that I liked the ability to manually select which areas of skin I wanted to smooth and I wish this was still available - as handy as the “auto” function is, I find it limiting. Please bring this back 😃🙏

Great if you have the money. This used to be a fantastic app. I believe at one stage I even paid to use the extra features however back then I believe it was a 1 off payment for unlimited use. Now unless you pay almost $100 a year (something between $70-$100) you can only use the very basic features. Really disappointed because I loved this app and now having to use other apps instead. If they had brought it down to a one off payment for unlimited use again then I’d most definitely buy it but this app is so expensive now. Otherwise a fantastic app. Works really well. Not sure if it’s worth the membership price though.

Mine if the best editing apps.. FaceTune used to be the best app. Then they removed certain studio lighting feature. It’s no longer worth paying until it’s restored,, which thankfully it is now. Please never remove the lighting options. They are great so are the film options now too. Great app. Thank you for listening to feedback.

Very scummy membership system. I thought the AI image function looked prettt cool and wanted to test it out but I need to subscribe to a free trial so I did and I was told that I’d be reminded days before my free trial would end and that I would be automatically charged again after a week. I received a notification saying that my trial will end in 2 days but didn’t see it because notifications from Facetune are automatically set to ‘deliver quietly’. I’ve now been charged $110 AUD for an app that I’ll probably never use again. Kind of a low move by you guys. Everyone just remember to cancel free trials!

The free features just changed?. Thought I was going crazy. I love this app and thought it had a really reasonable selection of free tools to use if you can’t justify the subscription. But all of a sudden the resize and paint tools have turned into VIP features?! Super annoying because I want those ones back since I’m used to using them but not all the other VIP ones. I get the point of in app purchases but it’s cheeky to get us used to using them for a few years then pull them off literally within the last few hours. Maybe offer a second tier ‘economy plus’ type of subscription to access those ones again. I’d be okay/able to justify paying $2-4 a month for renewed access to those.

Greedy Developers Have Ruined App. The original Facetune app was amazing, and still is. I use it quite often to remove marks on images, enhance photos, and attempt to hide every pore I was unfortunately born with. However, Facetune 2 is just a money hungry power grab, with the Developers hoping that people will be stupid enough to pay for each month, hiding almost all of the good tools behind a paywall. Your comments on reviews keep stating that Facetune 2 is free, and whilst it’s true to download the app, the caveat is that you can’t use most things without paying for it. Plus, you don’t even allow a lifetime, once off payment amount, and instead want people to rent the app off you instead. This is shady, greedy, and spits in the face of those who supported the original Facetune. Now you flood the original Facetune app with ads for Facetune 2, trying to force users to download and start renting your cash grab from you. Shame on you.

Scammers. Do NOT be fooled by the free trial period. They lull you into a false sense of confidence literally stating they will remind you when the trial is about to end so you can cancel it before you get charged. They do not remind you. I did not receive a single notification or email or any sort of correspondence and i forgot to cancel it. They charge you for the subscription the same day the free trial ends, and whats more they don’t even sign you up for the monthly subscription, they charge you for a whole year in one lump sum to gauge you of as much money as possible. Scammy company. Peeved off

Great app but now most features cost money :(. Have had this app for literally years and loved all the features that you were able to access even without a subscription!! It allowed you to do some much more with your photos than a lot of other free apps. Unfortunately, now there are only the most basic features still available without a very costly monthly or yearly subscription. The reasons I once loved this app and used this app heaps are now mostly gone :(( I’m hoping in the future they can restore the app to offer the same range of features for free, allow you to pay just for full use of a certain feature of your preference, or make the subscriptions/whole package more affordable. If you’ve got the money for it, this app still has great features! Personally I’ll be trying to find an app that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg just for some simple editing.

Update is horrible. Why would you have an app and have features available for years then all of a sudden change the features to “VIP” and charge heaps? I understand you need to make money but for those who have been using this app for years i feel like this app just offers the basics like every other app to be honest. Would of been better if those who had already had the app prior to changes could have everything stay the same vs new people who downloaded it would have to pay for those features.

Hard to cancel a membership or trial, be careful. I never use the app but one day I found a purpose for it so I signed up for the free trial because you can’t do anything in the app without it. I then tried to find out how to cancel. Twas impossible without writing them an email, and the link they sent me said no membership was found under my email…. I foolishly thought my email would then be enough and now I’m stuck with a $72 bill for something I don’t use 😤

Amazing until they trick you. Got the first version of the app, fell in love with it so downloaded the number 2 and payed for it. I won’t lie, it was amazing until I wasn’t able to use all the features I paid for. Now you have to pay an incredible amount of money yearly or each feature has a price. If I was one of the first people to buy a package when the app came out, I should be allowed to keep it as that’s what I payed for and you gladly took my money. Now that these guys became popular, they just forgot their first customers and cut the access to the features to make us pay more. I am very upset. Good thing is, there are LOADS of new apps every day and one can always find a decent, fair app that provides the same!

Bug. I pay $50 a year for facetune video feature to only let me edit the first 3 seconds of any video and that’s if I can even be on the app for more than a minute without it glitching and shutting the app down completely. The app cuts out and shuts down every 30 seconds even when editing photos. It never used to do this and it’s a really frustrating bug which I’m paying money for. It’s been an ongoing problem for a few months now unfortunately. I kept thinking it would be fixed in an update any time now but is still in issue…

Don’t use this app.. I got this app about a month ago and tried to buy something but my card was declined and by the time i got payed i chose not to get it, now a month later i have had 3 “$41” “$56” and “$34” taken from my bank account from this app. I don’t have a subscription with them and i have contacted my bank and they’ve said that its true, they saved my card details to a file without my permission and are now trying to buy stuff with my card. Seriously thinking of suing because this is NOT okay.

Great customer service. Had a little mix up with a mistaken invoice being sent to me when i hadn’t subscribed, contacted them about it to see if it could be refunded since I caught the invoice email early and they were very quick to respond, issued a refund and happy days. I’ve never dealt with customer service so professional and quick to respond for an app mistake so it deserves 5 stars just for that. Goes to show having great customer service and quick responders goes a long way with keeping people happy and possible gaining more app users or future subscribers. Will definitely keep this app in mind when I need it for something. Thankyou

Where’d all the features go?. I got hooked on this app back in 2018. Fantastic features on the free version and they were worth (imo) the ads that would appear. I mean, let’s be realistic an app can’t survive on being free. But now most of the features I used constantly have switched to the paid part of the app, and they weren’t even especially wonderful or outstanding compared to the paid features. Now it’s less features and more ads

Disappointing update - filter removals!. Latest update removed all the filters and replaced them with only a handful of new ones which are much worse. Lots of AI tools which are not as good as the other tools the app had before update. App is pointless to me now and does not make the lighting in your photos look good. Please bring back the filters you just deleted! I used to pay for this app and it’s just kept going downhill with every update and was once a great photo editor. Your preview photo of the app contains pictures of the old filter options which are not in the app. Please put them back. False advertising

Ridiculous pricing.. Used to be a good app. Didn’t mind paying for things here and there but generally had good range of things included. Recently you can’t access things you used to be able to access without having to pay basically $15 PER WEEK. Had this app since 2013 when it first came out. Really disappointed in the price hike that’s continuously been going up and up for not that much extra editing tools; ones that most people don’t use. So much AI - it was way better when it was mostly manual tools and not this AI garbage.

Did not intend to buy / subscribe. Hello guys, I wanted to trial an app and that’s how I installed it. When installing it prompted me about a free trial period and further subscription cost. Which is common for such apps. When I used the app a couple of times I realised it doesn’t give me what I want and tried to unsubscribe via Settindgs -> Manage Subscriptions but it did not appear on the list of active subscriptions. Hence I thought that’s it. Today I was charged for a yearly subscription and it still doesn’t appear on the list. This is phishy, can you please cancel this unintended and unwanted subscription and give me a refund. Thanks, Irene

Disappointed. I have used both the free and paid FaceTune I’m disappointed that the paid FaceTune app with AI capability does not function like the basic app where you can take a photo or video by using the iPhone side button/s. I can only take a video or photo using the onscreen button in the app which means you can take a selfie using one hand. It’s less the ideal and assumed there would be the same functionality plus more! I’ve asked support if there are any troubleshooting fixes or releases, but so far only got a generic response…disappointing given the annual cost!

This is a Scam!. This product does not offer a free 7-day trial like advertised. This company uses words like FREE to lure consumers into downloading this app. When you download the app you can opt-in to your free trial & use it for 7 days and you can also cancel your subscription right after you use it ensuring you won’t be charged but this app unlawfully bypasses customers cancellations and proceeds on withdrawing money from your account. At some point here Apple has to be held liable for the app creators that secretly steals money from it’s consumers with little to no consequences. There has to be some type of penalty for false advertising. This is completely unacceptable & wrong. This happens to many other consumers and it’s time to put a stop to these wrong doings with these companies that can’t honour what they’re advertising. Do not purchase or use FaceTune.

Suggestion. After the 3 day trial just have a pop up screen asking the user if they want to opt into a subscription and have a big button that says free use only option. Though practical for customers, I know this not profit friendly for business. Nevertheless if the product is worth it those that want to pay will pay. This has been suggested before I’m sure. I look forward to the developers response but I doubt it will come.

Not worth it.. Downloaded the app. Hated it, awful features and does not work well. Confusing UX. Deleted it right away and was still charged $70 when the free trial ended with no authorization or comms on upcoming charges. This app is nowhere near worth $70. Contacted customer service and was told no refunds under the technicalities of their refund policy. App is hot garbage.

Worth it. If you know how to use this app for what it does and beyond you’ll quickly realize that paying for it is worth it. This whole app does more if you use your imagination. It’s definitely the best app for major edits. I use Snapseed and Facetune for everything and I love it. They keep getting better and better. Sometime I can’t believe how some photos turn out just with a few touch ups. Love it and I can’t wait to see what else they do.

They’re now charging for tools that used to be free to use.. Incredibly disappointed, I used to love using this app to edit my photos and do all my touch ups because this app has the best “paint” option, especially the “tone” tool. Never had trouble with the app before until I go to use the paint tools today and now they’re VIP only? They never used to be. Now I’d have to pay $99 just to occasionally touch up a photo on my own time/have access when I want it? Not impressed & hope they change that & the retouch feature, back to free.

Be warned. This is not a free to use app with premium content that costs extra. You must subscribe and you get a 7 day free trial but once that ends they AUTOMATICALLY start charging you. I betcha it’s incredibly difficult to figure out how to cancel that subscription as well.. not impressed with the great lack of transparency regarding this.

Garbage. I had the original version of this app and loved it, used it for years. Recently the app INSISTED i download/upgrade to facetune 2nd version. Now you cant use half the features you used to be able to use on the free version, and every time you press a button a screen pops up and prompts you to download a plan and pay 6 dollars a WEEK, to use the same app iv used for free for YEARS. Deleted the app because even the new features it forces u go pay for arent as good as the free features on the old app, which you cant get back once you upgrade.

Formerly free features now require payment. I logged on to find that a whole bunch of features (including the two that I use the app for… but not frequently enough to pay) now require a subscription. Too bad. Luckily, there are plenty of other apps with the same features that do not require a subscription.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS perpetual license price. They want $249.99 lifetime / 71.99 a year for cheap, very poor editing software 😂😂 I’ve purchased a “perpetual” license in the past. That was $7 or so. I remember they came out with a FaceTune 2 at some point. But it seems they might’ve deleted the original facetune and changed “2” to just facetune. Clearly that previous license I purchased was not so lifetime after all. Pos app. Do yourself a favour and learn how to edit using dedicated photo editing software that isn’t expensive garbage. There’s ways to obtain photoshop cheaply~ This app makes laughably foolish edits, and it’s hair colour changer is just as bad as the apps were in 2014~.

Expensive. I signed up for the free trial and canceled before my trial was up. I was still charged $61.02 a month later. That’s almost the cost of a whole year’s subscription and I only used it for a few days. Extremely disappointed.

Unethical App Developers. I downloaded the original version of this app. I liked it - so, I purchased the app. No big deal. I was happy to give money for the great features. Then, they come out with a new version of the app with new features. So, I downloaded it to try it out. Some new features but for what I liked, nothing had changed really. I didn’t feel that the new app was needed for what I wanted to do. Instead of letting those who had bought the app continue to use it - they decided it would be a good idea to remove access to it in order to FORCE me to purchase the new app if I still wanted those features. Did I purchase it? Yes. Was I happy about it? No. I feel it’s entirely unethical that they force you to upgrade something I purchased and was still working fine for my needs until they removed my access and forced my upgrade. They did give a discount - but entirely removing my access in the first place was extremely frustrating and unethical and, drably, made me very very angry. So, you decide if this app is for you. It works great for lots of things - but just know, they may try to get you to purchase it again if they want more money. The moment I find an app as good or better, even if I have to buy it, I’ll be moving on. These people will not do this to me again.

Longtime User but this is App Extortion!. I have been using Facetune for YEARS, and a while back paid for a full feature upgrade for a reasonable sum (it was ages ago so I’m thinking between $15-30?) This was more than I’d paid for any other app, but felt it was worth it as it really did elevate photos from my iPhone 6. I didn’t need the app as much when I upgraded to an iPhoneX with a better camera, but Facetune was still my go-to app for specialized editing. I’ve had to “restore purchases” more than once because the app ‘forgets’ I’ve paid for the upgrade. Today I went in and even after restoring purchases, I can’t access features that I’ve had for YEARS without paying monthly fees. Auto-retouching and healing are GONE and I’m being forced to pay for them monthly. That is like app extortion, ridiculous!! I’m done here. Will just use photoshop from now on. Bummer Facetune, I really enjoyed your app.

PLEASE BEWARE FRAUD. I am warning everyone about this company's shady business practices. I signed up for a free trial. Cancelled before the expiration date but was still billed. Tried to dispute the charge through Apple. Apple told me I wasn’t getting billed through them. That Lightricks the company that owns the app is billing me. I disputed and received a refund from my bank. I thought I was done with them but then they attempt to bill me again. This time it gets even more shady because the first charge was on my debit card. The second attempted charge was on my credit card. I say attempted because my bank flagged it and declined it. How did they get my credit card number? Once again Apple says it’s not through them. So I emailed Lightricks explaining in great detail the entire situation. I’m going to cancel my cards because this whole thing is weird. Just be warned something isn’t right with Lightricks.

So many subscriptions. The work it gives off is amazing, I love how easy it is to edit with this app. I decided to download it once again just to find out how many unnecessary subscriptions their are. Yes, I completely agree there has to be at least one subscriptions for an incredible app like this. But, with the new update and how use users have such less options to use is pretty much stupid in my opinion. Without having the subscription you are only available to use a few stuff to be able to edit your photos. Before you could have more options and more tools to use, yet you guys’s decided to take that advantage away. This is utterly dumb, if you guys have a subscription at least let us have more tools and access to other stuff instead of giving us at least 5 options.

Disapointed. I’ve used this app since I was in middle school, and it was always perfect and exactly what I needed. The VIP features that were given at the time were things that I didn’t need and didn’t use, and all was well. Recently, the new update took away the ONLY two tools I ever used and only made them available to VIP members. The ability to screenshot a photo after I “tried them out” was also taken away so there’s no way around it. I don’t understand the function of taking the only useful thing out of this app only for the purpose of pawning a dollar off your customers. I’m disappointed and annoyed, and personally think the app is 100 percent useless and doesn’t offer anything to help your photos after taking away tools. I would’ve highly recommended a couple months ago, now it’s not even worth the 30 seconds it takes to download. Don’t waste your time.

Ridiculous price for something that was previously free.. I got this app a couple years back and I really enjoyed and loved using it. It was the only app that allowed me to use reshape but kept its original resolution and even location of where I took the photos when saved back to my camera roll. I never bothered to update because the app had no real problems or errors with it. However, UNFORTUNATELY, a couple hours ago I was having trouble saving some pictures to my camera roll, so I decided to update it to see if that’d fix the issue. To my dismay, I came back onto the app to find out that the ONLY tool I used on this ONLY editing app that I use is now $70 AND NO LONGER FREE. That is a RIDICULOUS price to pay for something that was free before and I feel robbed of my experience with this app. It was my favorite editing app and the only one that I used, but now I can’t use it at all. Make it free again and it’ll be 5 stars again.

New updates created AI bugginess…. Been a fan/user of the app for years. I was bummed upon seeing that the old free version was clipped and replaced by a pay version. I decided to sub, and give it a whirl. I was pleasantly surprised, and impressed with the update. Not sure if it warranted a sub fee. Until I seen the AI feature. I have to say, in the fast moving world of prompt generated image tech, this addition generates some great imagery…..until the recent update a day ago. Prior to the update, I was flying trough generating images, and getting great results. Now, not so much. The addition of the multiple generation of three images at once fails constantly, and single image generating is not much better. Consistent error, and slow processing. I’ve spoke to other users, and they are having the same issues. The smaller preview window ( it did get smaller, right?) is no good. Also, if you didn’t have to swipe back and forth ,post actual saving, to get out of “saving options”, would be great! I hope this doesn’t fall on deaf ears. I love the app, and will continue to use, and tell everyone about it, but I would hate to have to say…. “It used to be better”. Sincerely….

Good. I've been using this app for a while now and I was happy with all the features I could use for free but every now and then when the app updates, it takes away all the good free features I was mainly using to edit. The reshape, paint were things I used a lot that was free and now apparently I have to pay for them which is disappointing. On the face edit when it updated, new features like editing the size of the face, lips, nose, eyes or eyebrows were added to use for free and now it's not. The paid features that were before free make me use it less as it was the main thing I was using it for. I would still give it 3 stars for the work it gave before the update and for the couple of things that I still slightly use that are free. It is a good app just disappointed with the updates.

locking and unlocking features is SUPER ANNOYING. i swear facetune just cannot choose whether they wanna give us certain things for free or not. one minute the reshape tool and paint tool is free to use, next minute it’s locked and you gotta pay for it, next minute it unlocked again, then locked back again. it’s very ANNOYING. just make up your mind, it’s either you give it to us for free or not. at this point i will delete the app for good. y’all can’t be so selfish. you can barely do anything good for free already, they’re literally taking everything good away from the app unless you pay for it. it’s an actual shame, unless facetune unlocks the features again, i will soon be deleting. if you’re looking for an alternative, picsart has in app features, but their reshape tool as well as paint tool is free! and there isn’t any back and forth locking and unlocking. i don't recommend this app unless you have loads of money to waste!

STOP Changing the features!!!. Changing the control I had with the position of my icons. Crying face. Now the app is glitchY. I love this app and I use it daily. BUT lately you changed the Patch feature (HATe it now) before I had more control on the level of intensity I wanted. Now I don’t have that! Ok I’m learning to live with it. Still hate it. And now you’ve changed the EYE feature!!!! WHYYYYYY!!????? STOP it! Nothing wrong with the EYE feature before!!! It’s terrible and I have again LESS control of what I want. I can’t wipe out the excess lense. I wear costumes and sometimes changing the color of my eye is crucial. This new change totally is NOT working!! Completely disappointed. Can you please change it BACK!!??? Can’t do my work as well with these feature changes😞😞I may need to look for a different app to meet my needs. This one was top, then you change it and now it doesn’t feel as professional. Very disappointing.

Better off getting the old version. Some of the basic things you use it the most for (smoother, sharpen, structure, reshape, patch, paint/tones) are no longer free. You already pay just to download the app....it was definitely a slap in the face to make the most common tools a VIP thing you gotta subscribe and pay for monthly. They’re all free in the original Facetune, just most of the tools in the original aren’t as advanced/upgraded and you gotta take your time to not mess up or make it look super fake. FaceTune2 tools just had some slight improvement so the tools are easier to use with more natural finish but taking your time you can still achieve the same things with the original. I would of rather they added new and unique features that were premium rather than taking core tools and making them premium. I would of rather they placed ads (but nothing too crazy) for revenue than charging for basic tools.

I feel ripped off. I payed to download this app in full when it first came out years ago. Then all of a sudden, features were being added and for some reason it was decided that the price I payed was no longer good enough and to get the things they added I needed to pay more money via a monthly payment. Am I wrong or shouldn't I get all the updates automatically and not have to pay every month for an app I paid for just to download. The updates should come with the app right? Another note, this app works really well which is why I still use it even though I refuse to pay for the new features which I should be getting anyway lol. Okay that's all. Thank you!

Design Suggestion. Great app! The Vanish feature works better than any other thing I’ve tried. One design suggestion, however. It would be awesome if you could change the design to be able to edit things at the bottom of the frame in a photo. Currently, the menu gets in the way, so I have to manually rotate the photo upside down and edit it that way where I can see and access the bottom of a photo, then rotate it again back to the correct position. It’s not a huge deal, but it takes way more time. You should consider modifying the design to be able to zoom out and view the entire frame while still having access to the menu bar of features at the bottom. Thanks!

Why did you guys change the “looks feature”. I would give this app a 5 star review because I absolutely love and adore it. I’ve been a loyal customer for about 2/3 years now. I have bought the subscription and I LOVE it and always have UNTIL y’all changed the “looks” feature. It use to be that you could pick a face to add the make up or whatever you needed and now it automatically picks only one face and it’s ridiculous I’m trying to edit group photos and the boys are out here with eyelashes and lipstick. That’s a huge NO from me. Please put it back to the original or change the setting so that we can choose the face PLEASEEEE then I’ll come back and give those 5 stars lol. Ridiculous. I purchased this app years ago, I go through spurts of using it but haven’t as much as I did when I first purchased the app. The app wasn’t free but once purchased you had access to all features which they’ve updated over the years but I would stick to the same basic options I used from day one. I went to use the app today to find out I basically can’t. Without paying even more money for more features that I don’t even need. I know life is a business but I’d rather this app not change or maybe have pay option for the newest features keeping the originals free to those who paid for the app. I’m not sure if the app still one that needs to be bought (I’m assuming not, now that there’s a subscription option) but it is very obnoxious for those who have been using this app for nearly 10 years.

Definitely an advance!. Updated Review: Yes, it's a subscription app. But the developers are constantly improving it and adding WOW! features. Their latest trick are automated backdrops that, in two taps, permit backgrounds to be changed with amazing accuracy. Facetune 2 is the real thing, an app that can still do magic! (And to dispel any doubters, I'm just a more-than-satisfied user with no connection to the publishers.) Like others commenting, I was disappointed to see version 2 of this app go to a subscription model. But a rating should be primarily on merit and only secondarily on cost. And Facetune 2 is a substantive improvement over the original Facetune. Many more features, of which some are quite unique, including some remarkably automated edits!

This app is Amazing. Upsetting update. I used to LOVE this app, but with the recent update they have decided to take away the most widely used tools and have them be only available for premium customers. I was even considering purchasing a subscription because I loved the app that much, however a yearly subscription is extremely pricey at almost $40 which is not ideal for most people. I’m now looking for a different app to use for my editing, but I’m really sad to leave this app behind. I’m hoping the app designers are willing to fix this update and give back the reshape and paint tools as I know many people are giving up the app due to this update. I would even be willing to watch ads in return for the tools. Just really disappointed that this app is trying to get more money out of people who really enjoyed the app by taking away popular tools.

Quite Disappointed. I purchased the subscription, because I liked the opportunity to edit some of my product photos, especially the backgrounds. But sadly the tools for adding/changing backgrounds do not work like the videos show. Supposedly you are supposed to be able to select a background and just paint it on the areas to change it and it would bump up sharply (as in crisp edges) against the objects in the foreground. It did not work for me that way. And I thought maybe it was because of the photo, so I tried it with a different photo to even worse problems. When I selected a background, it covered the entire picture and you can remove it from the center picture, but not crisply and is counter intuitive to the video instructions. It doesn’t work exactly as portrayed. I’m very disappointed and have cancelled y subscription because of it.

Professional Headshots. Used this app to create business headshot photos for my company. Husband and I used old front facing photos, changed the casual outfits to business attire with the app’s Ai, and fine tuned our complexions. The photo quality looked so professional that many friend complimented saying they couldn’t tell Ai was used and thought a professional photographer took and edited our photos. Granted, there were times when changing the outfits with Ai that it changed our faces so I had to retry until the face was our own. But trying multiple times was worth it as the end results for all our photos came out superb! Highly recommend!

Unfair and money GREEDY. I’ve been a user of Facetune for over three years now it’s helped me so much with my Contant and overall comfortability, though I’ve noticed they always make monthly adjustments to lessen the items/tools that you can use for your photos and requires a monthly or/yearly payment of ridiculous amounts now I have came to my surprise that I’m only allowed to save three photos a week which is ridiculous as an influencer who is needing to post over 10 today and I cannot further my actions without paying $40. I really feel that this app is no longer for others use and it’s for the money and income of the creators. It’s sad to say, but I will be ending my Facetune journey here . I will call paying for Facetune multiple times over the years is my money, not appreciated or enough to be able to have the least of options

SCAM - SCAM - SCAM. Do not subscribe or try the free trial. I cancelled the subscription BEFORE the trail period expired, my account has been charged THREE TIMES. IF you dare this scam of an app, SCREENSHOT when you cancel! I did and I’m still trying to get them to STOP charging my account!! After the March payment was taken from my account, I notified them. When the April payment was taken from my account, I notified them a 2nd time and screenshot the message. I attempted to login the account so I could clear any and all billing info and it logged in and said “not active” Ok, so it’s not active, they have received my message and there won’t be anymore charges. WRONG! Was billed again in May!!!! I’ve notified them every way I could! Plus I sent my bank a message stating these were FRAUDULENT charges! Update: Adam at Facetune by Lightricks refunded ONE charge, but would not refund the other two. The April charge I screenshot the message I sent stating they were NOT AUTHORIZED to charge my account 3 days after the charge! Well, now I have an email stating that they will not refund if it’s 14 days after the purchase date! 1) I notified them the SECOND time 3 days after the charge - crickets. 2) it was NOT purchased, it was a fraudulent charge!!! I have dated documentation to back all claims.

Pricey but Worth It!. This app is by far the BEST photo editing app I have ever used. You can literally do ANYTHING to your selfies, to achieve whatever exact desired effect you wish. This app gets all the little nuances completely right! Even my less flattering selfies come out ravishing after I’ve used FaceTune for enhancements. It is so unbelievably versatile and the tools are comprehensive for whatever you might need. They really thought of everything! I wish this had existed years ago! I never post a selfie or portrait to social media without running it through FaceTune FIRST. It’s become a necessity on my iPhone and my go-to app for all things selfie related! The price is steep but worth it for what you get and how often you’ll find yourself using it. Five enthusiastic stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very Disappointed. I have never ever written a review about any app before. But I will now in case any of you are looking to download this one. I DO NOT recommend this app anymore. This used to be my favorite app to edit photos because the free tools that they offered were amazing!!! Like the paint & reshaping option which were the ones I used the most. But all of a sudden they decide to update it and now start charging a ridiculous amount in order to use these tools that were once (for a very long time) FREE! And they also put a block on the app where you can’t screenshot the photo you have just edited. Honestly, it is not worth the money or the download just for those 2 tools that I really loved. I will be looking for other apps to use and will be deleting this one, I will not download it ever unless they offer those tools again and don’t charge a ridiculous amount. For that reason I give this rating ZERO STARS.

BEWARE!! -1 start. Tried the free trial & realized with my arthritis It was not a good choice for me. I thought I had unsubscribed & had deleted the app but then a charge showed up on my credit card. Okay. If I was remiss there were 2 choices for 1 mo or 1 year...I had not chose either and get billed for $38+ rather than a $5.95 mo? I have tried to work with Apple who advised me to contact the company which has no contact info. NO WAY would I recommend a company that appears to operate in such a nefarious way. **** I love companies who support their product..this may have been my issue but as mentioned above my hand immobility made it problematic to use..hence I stopped the trial after 2 days but was charged for a year. I was refunded my charge and thank you! Great job!!

I used to like this app — DELETING app from my phone. MAIN POINTS • less value than prior versions • Your in-app advertisement for your VIP level — it’s incredibly ANNOYING. • BUGGY In the older versions: I could tune a couple tiny things on a photo or change it completely. This was all with the free option. And like other reviewers have stated, with the trending of photo editing, these FaceTune folks want to charge for the most basic of tools now. Aside from that, the app has been super buggy lately and I can’t even upload a photo to tune. Bugs. As far as the upgrade advert goes — Every 2 or 3 taps in the app prompts the upgrade option. It’s obnoxious and as much as I’m sure the value of the upgrade it good, it’s pesky and leaves me feeling less inclined to upgrade and more likely to search for a different photo editing app. Pointer: Prompt the upgrade each time someone opens and closes the app. That’s all.

Removed the only reasons to use the app. I’ve had this app since it was beta tested. Loved it. Never bothered to use another app. I’m deleting it off of my phone and will never use it again. To charge for features that have ALWAYS been free is ludicrous and greedy. I can understand premium options being charged, but these are BASIC. It shows a disregard for loyal customers who have been using the app for years. I doubt there was a justification for removing free features yet not adding any or adding more useful premium features instead of charging for previously included ones. Simply bc the market for selfie editing has increased gives no right to take advantage of customers. Choosing capitalistic gain is never a sound business policy. Incredibly disappointed. I know this won’t even be read, but I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know it’s not worth downloading anymore. Sorry.

Amazed........but. This app is amazing and I can see what people would pay for (ok not really the 70$ for lifetime especially since the first one was only like 4$) but any way my only question is why are basic editing tools such as saturation, highlights, and shadow for vip only??? I mean literally every single editing app free and paid has these things. Even the editor in your photos. This doesn’t really make since to me and it is annoying going back and forth through other apps to have to use these tools. I understand you want to make money but tools like those should just be a given that they are free. One last thing. I wouldn’t say this is app is worth seventy dollars for life time or doing a continuous subscription. A One time purchase of like 7-10$ is probably more of the range this app is in. Great app but yeah.

Just horrible. To make this app more worse, you have to pay for literally every thing the app is supposed to be free free to download that’s all and back in the day. Mostly the features were free now even the features that were free you have to pay for now and that’s ridiculous like since when do you have to pay for whitening, y’all keep putting a price on each feature each update why it’s not like people are not using this app. People are using this app and is getting ridiculous. Everything else cost so much you just wanna add more to our problems. We just wanna have fun with our pictures and create something beautiful the app that isn’t really that great anymore like the whole feature of three free saves should not be a thing we can’t screenshot him, so what’s the point of the app? Basic features are not free anymore. The app is good and it works for the simple things I need it for like retouching. I used to really like this app for simple touch ups, when I downloaded FaceTune, it offered a lot of good features, but now they have slowly taken them away, and trying to get you to pay the subscription to use them. Another thing is that you only have three pictures for free per month, and to those they’ve added an ugly water mark that ruins your free pictures. I won’t be paying for another subscription for something for which I only use basically two features, and only use a couple of times per month, honestly I would’ve preferred if they just added ads. Will be moving to a different photo editor that offers this basic features free of cost.

Only works with females. I needed a headshot so I thought this was the perfect app. I downloaded it and signed up for the one year subscription with a free trial, which I’m very glad there is a free trial. But when I add my picture and go to make adjustments it assumes I’m female, and I only get the options are female hair or female clothes… I see no place to indicate the gender of the person picture, although if this was real AI, I would assume the program could’ve figured that out. I’ve gone online and search the Internet but there was no help out there. I went to their website to see if I could get support and nothing on their support page came remotely close to helping. There was a support email address so I sent an email describing my issue. I got a response within 10 minutes, but what I got back was instructions on how to cancel my subscription so I did!

SCAM. I had never used a photo editing app before and wanted to try one, and saw there was an option for a free 3 day trial for this app, so I decided to try it. Before you sign up it says you can cancel the free trial anytime, so I though why not. I tried the app but I didn’t really use many of the features so I figured it wasn’t worth the money to keep, but when it came time to cancel the free trial, there was no option in sight. Not in the app setting or in my phone settings, nowhere was there an option to even look at my subscription or cancel it. I contacted the customer support at least a day before the free trial was supposed to end and I have still never gotten a response (it’s been almost a week now) and I was charged $35 for the app and it’s a recurring fee!!!! I disputed it with my credit card but this is a complete scam, do not download this and do not use the free trial, they will steal your money!!

This is just sad.. All these face-editing apps ever do are depress people. They make people insecure, make them think they’re ugly without makeup or face edits, and just plain make people addicted. It makes people think lies, like they HAVE to look a certain way to look good or “perfect”, and it makes them think they NEED makeup to look better. It’s so unhealthy. These apps just straight-up depress people. I literally only downloaded this app to write this review!! 0 stars if possible. And the way you advertise? It’s disgusting. You say “remove blemishes”, causing people to believe that birthmarks or freckles are bad and make them look imperfect. I have nothing against the creators of this app, just the whole idea of the app itself, which tells you that it can make you look “perfect”—— but get over the fact that you’ll NEVER look perfect, no matter what some stupid app says. You were made to look how you were supposed to look, so just live with it!!!

Facetune is amazing. The amount of control over individual facial features is amazing. I give it 5 stars. It is a must for retouches. I was hesitant because of the price. I bit the bullet and bought the full app. I think it was during a sale. So glad I did. Hope they keep updating this app and don’t create a facetune 3 that I will have to pay for it again. Some features that I would like to see are: adjust hairline, add facial hair and hairstyles/colors, add teeth to a smile like “FaceApp”. Add a background feature can definitely be improved. So could some of the eye color and eye reflection features. Appreciate the new neon lightning feature. Please continue to make this app better. Would like to lower receding hairlines ASAP. Important for my retouching of older men. Thank you developers !

DOWNLOADED APP 1st, READ REVIEWS 2nd, DELETED APP 3rd. Well I learned from that. Next time I will read the recent reviews before I download any app from here on out. What’s crazy is I normally read reviews beforehand instead of who has the most users and the # of ⭐️ next to it. After reading both the recent reviews and the most helpful reviews, talking about the same issues that go back 1-2+ years ago, I decided to not even open the app. I know people will think 💭 “you should open the app and then decide what you want to do.” BUT if I had the reviews first, I would never have downloaded the app. So it’s a mute issue. Thanks to everyone that left a review. Not only did your reviews save me from spending money for no reason, especially during this pandemic. But you saved me from a headache, anxiety, aggravation, and my time which I can now use to search for apps that you all mentioned, along with the one I’ve used forever. DISAPPOINTED & DELETED!!

NOT free, NO clear labels. So I was very excited to see this new version was free after learning about the app in an online article I was reading that showed a before and after picture a girl had edited. HOWEVER, when I actually got into the app, it keeps constantly saying everything I do is premium-only. Unlike PicMonkey that clearly labels what is and is not premium-only by adding star signs on premium features, this app doesn’t seem to have any labeling of what is and is not free. I don’t want to see here and go through every single thing to figure out what I can and can not do. I can understand having some features as premium but if have little to no free features despite allowing the app download to be free, no one can try the app to feel comfortable enough TO spend money on it. I guess I’ll just continue using the free photoshop apps. Super frustrated with this now.

Bring Back the old version. I miss the original version of this app when you could do more things with it manually. All this Ai generated crap really hinders what you can edit in the app. It gives you 1 choice vs the many you had before when you wanted to change hair color, relight the pic or even change the pattern on a garment. It was fun for me. But now that this app is all Ai there's really no point for me to use it anymore. Most if not all of the features I enjoyed using are gone. They also change everything every day with new updates... like calm down over there. Stop changing your app so much. If you want to fix and update maybe figure out why your ai doesn't do well with darker skin colors. Anytime I've tried using it on pictures of my friends it changes their skin tone and race. Fix that!

original facetune was better PLS READ!!!!. These people are money hungry, it’s ridiculous. I have been using the original facetune since middle school (around 7 years ago now), and it has been my go to ever since. However, once the new facetune came out (facetune 2?) they started promoting it a bunch on the original app. After this, there was a ton of bugs and glitches that happened whenever you tried to edit a photo. I assume they did this on purpose so everyone can switch to facetune 2. I was confused as to why this is getting pushed so much by the company, so I decided to download it and try it. Let’s just say, stick with the original app if you actually want to edit photos. you literally have to pay for almost everything on the app. it’s ridiculous and such a scam. I would rather deal with bugs and glitches then pay to remove a blemish.

Sorry but I kinda hate your app. First of all, when I want to change my hairstyle it looks so unrealistic. Like why put a hairstyle feature if it’s not gonna look good. Second of all you can’t even take a screen shot. When this app won’t let you save something because you have be a VIP. It’s just says worth a shot and blocks the screenshot out. Thirdly. The hair feature rlly makes me frustrated. Like it’s unrealistic and when you want a certain hairstyle you see hands in the hair. Like that annoying. If you really want a good makeup app don’t get this one. Trust me you don’t want this app. It’s a rude app too. It has a feature where it says like: low quality high sass. Or that pale blue shirt doesn’t compare to the winner/another picture. Like don’t judge other ppls look or compare their looks to others. Have you ever heard of the word OFFENSIVE. Like this is the worst makeup app ever. Don’t get this app.

BRING BACK VIGNETTE. i have paid for the monthly subscription for this app for about a year and i am HAPPY to do so as it is my go to for editing. As a content creator, it is frustrating to have to use several apps to get the end result you desire. However, with this recent update to add sparkle, hair colors, and clothes, some of the old tried & true features have changed. I use the vignette option probably half the time i make edits... it has now moved to the “edit” tab and it is simply not the same. it is far less customizable & basically not useable for me anymore. I need this feature back to the way it was, PLEASE. also, rather than introducing childish edits like hair color & clothes, please consider adding the capability to watermark photos within this app. it would be life changing to have this feature.

Disgusting and you know it!. This app has had you addicted to making your skin clearer, teeth whiter, jaw smaller, and eyelashes longer since you were 16. You can barely send a photo to friends and family who LOVE you without putting it through this app anymore… and what have the developers done? They’ve forced you to pay for it now. You didn’t have to before, but now that you can’t even look at yourself without wishing you had plastic surgery, you’ll pay any amount for that temporary relief. I don’t even know what to say. This is the most evil marketing scheme I’ve ever seen. You are beautiful because you are a human. I want to see your yellow teeth. I want to see your pores. I want to see your love handles and the way you get pale when you’re tired. Not another pixel from here. I would wish shame on the people who created this monster but all I can manage to do is hope they feel better someday.

Afraid to do Free Trial Due to Poor Reviews. After reading all these horror reviews of people actually being charged even after they cancel the free subscription within the appropriate time, I’m a so hesitant to even try it. I read the reviews from the Most Recent not the Most Helpful. The reviews are horrible. Most not about the app itself but when it comes to being charged. If you don’t make it easy to cancel and if people are being billed when they’re not suppose to be and they are letting you know here but all you can give is a generic what seems automated response, then I would beware. Too many people are complaining about the same or similar things. You lost me before me even giving it a try. And I wanted to try. Trust me. But I don’t want to try at the expense of you tampering with my dollars and charging me. Then I have to deal with the frustration of “trying” to get my monies refunded? Maybe when I see better reviews, I’ll reconsider. Until then, I will pass.

Not every effect is free. Face tune works well, better than most I have tried. It’s more intuitive and I like that. It has more useful options but many of the best of them require an upgrade. If you try the upgrade options out while editing a photo, you lose the ability to keep the free options you have tried once you are done, and you will have to redo those effects. I would recommend saving all the free options, then and only then trying out the upgrade options. That way you don’t have to start over. In addition, some of the free options end up looking ridiculous on some faces/photos but normal on others, depending on the person’s original expression and their natural facial attributes.

Great! But.... I Love facetune 2 it’s definitely an upgrade from the first one but I still have a few issues. Firstly in the tones/ paint region of the first one you can choose any color from a color palette and make whatever color you want, however in the second one that option is gone and you have to pick from options that they already have which really limits how far you can go with the tones. Secondly in the tones and paints of Facetune 2 the colors on the side are too big and if I want to color over something on the right I am not able to unless I start from the left and work my way to the right and then erase afterwards which is kind of a hassle if I am just trying to change a simple tone. Overall the app is great but would love to see an update with these fixes!

New issues starting to emerge. So, I still use the Facetune basic, that I paid for who knows how long ago. I very thing worked great, except the most random issues are starting to occur. The biggest feature I use is the paint tool, usually just to make a black shirt stand out more (look less gray/washed out, as the natural highlights would show) or darken my black hair (that again, looks washed out using basic camera app). What I’ve started noticing is that once done, the effect will look really good and even…. Once saved, you can see alll the places where it’s not even at all, and looks like I just scribbled over, hoping it would somehow take.. like throwing a dart and seeing where it lands. How is that even possible lol like why make it look good in the app, and literally nowhere else.

This app is encouraging fake beauty and the Devs are selfish. This app is not good for kids, teens, adults, or anyone. It encourages people to hide their real beauty and mask it with lies. I only downloaded this app because I needed to write this review to warn any young people to not use this app as way to make you look pretty on pictures for your social medias. This app was created for people who aren’t confident in how they look, but they should be. ALSO this was created to make money off of people who cared enough to change how they actually look. Please do not waste money on this app because your giving the Devs what they want. *IMPORTANT INFO READ NOW* If you are still don’t believe me, you can scroll down to the information section of this app and click on “In-App Purchases” and you’ll be able to see all the in-app purchases inside the app, which should help you understand that this a horrible app created to grab your money to fake your appearance.

Why charge for features that were once free?. I’ve been using Facetune for a long time now. About 5 years now. I’ve seen it developed and I’ve been through the updates and so far it’s been going well. I’ve heard great reviews about the app from other people, from influencers, etc. and I think that it deserves its recognition. But I don’t think it’s fair especially with this recent update that now it’s charging us to use certain features that were once free. It was a very affordable app but now that’s it’s charging, I don’t see it’s use anymore. I don’t find it fair especially for someone who has had this app for a long time and still uses it until this day to now have features that require purchase for yearly, monthly, one time purchase. I’m really disappointed in this new update and I hope that I can go back to the way it was so that people who can actually afford it can keep the app. Please take this review into consideration. grossly hungry for money. I used to love this app, it allowed me to reshape which I know in general is misleading but it made me feel better about myself; regardless it was a free feature for me since i had downloaded this app, until recently i did a regular update and it became a feature you now had to pay for. I’m very disappointed in this, i relied on this feature, and now i have to pay for it in, installments of months, I honestly find it detestable that you made a once free feature now have to be payed for, however i honestly think that if you were to make it a one time payment i’d be more likely to pay, but since that won’t happen I no longer will use your app and will continue to tell my friends that this app is only money shopping, it seems eventually you’ll decide to make everything have to be paid for. disappointed

Nice app! But has lots of bugs.. I use this app almost EVERYDAY, I find it essential to edit my professional photograph. Due to the fact that I use it so often I’ve noticed some bugs and defects, for example, when I want to crop a picture, after I do it, and want to use another feature, the app freezes for a moment, this is very annoying. Something similar happens when I want to use the darkroom feature. Also, when I’m using the “paint” feature, the options for the colors are right side of the picture, so when I want to color the background, it becomes difficult. Also, it crashes sometimes and I loose all my progress. Overall, this app is great, it has so much potential, I definitely recommend it, but it would make me 100% if y’all were to fix these issues, Thank you so much.

I thought I was using a free or lite version but.... ... but today it charged me nearly $83 dollars app subscription without having a cancelation option/policy or at least popping up an automatic question whether I want to continue using the app by paying this amount or not; I don't even know if this price is a yearly subscription which I hope so or a monthly one, in which case I'm not going to be the least bit happy about because no matter how cool they are it's just way too expensive for an average non professional user like me. I'm going to continue trying to cancel it, if another user knows how please leave a reply if you can, thank you in advance. The developers should honestly make the app more user friendly for situations like this one and put a fee/subscription notification and cancelation options available as described above.
