Horrible App. The absolute worst ordering experience!! If I didn’t love Cowboy Chicken as much as I do, I would never order from here because of this confusing and tedious app. The least intuitive food ordering app I’ve ever experienced.

App is struggling. App is preventing our family from ordering the fantastic food we crave. In the last week have given up and ordered From a different restaurant three times. This is due to a perpetual loop which tells me “unable to connect to network” and then sends the app into a never-ending “loading” mode. Uninstalled twice, turned off phone both times, and reloaded the app and still the same result when I attempt to order.

App features don’t work well. There is a past order tab but it never has any orders I’ve made. If you go to transaction history ; it just has how much you paid and not what you got. And also the pickup time is always like 10 min after placing the order without taking into account the rush time in the restaurant. I don’t mind if the wait is longer : I will wait to drive over but I’ve been standing for almost 15-20 after arriving 5 min after the designated pickup time. The estimated time should be based on the rush they have that day; else you’re waiting a long time which defeats the purpose of ordering ahead to coordinate your day around. If these features are addressed; then this would be a perfect app but until then it’s 3/5

App won’t let me use my gift cards. App will not allow uploading of my gift cards. I complained about this years ago and the app still has this same issue.

Great chicken!. Drove an hour to eat, food was awesome, they ran out of forks, we asked for more they said they would bring us fresh forks, we ended up eating our chicken and salads with spoons!! New experience!

App is cool but still had to wait. I would think the purpose of a app would be to place an order and have it ready to pick up at a particular time. However, I placed my order and arrived 15 minutes after the designated pick up time and they had not even started my order. Fortunately, there was no one in line and they immediately started putting it together. However, if five people have been in line I would have had A 15 minute or more weight just to pick up an order I placed with a aap. They need to fix this problem and maybe have an alarm that sounds when they receive an order via their online app.

OMG BIG!. Why is this app so huge? This is more than half a gigabyte? No other app i use is this big including map apps, banking/payment apps, etc. The Chick-fil-A app is just 55MB as a fully-functional food ordering/payment app. Just appears to be a bloated, inefficiently designed app.

App overcharges. The app over charges and adds one dollar to the meal price. The app shows $11 for half chicken meal. When I went to check out it was listed as my meal $11, subtotal $12, tax $.99 total 1299. If the meal is 11 and the tax is $.99 where is the extra dollar coming from? And I can clearly see $11 as the price of the meal. You are scamming your customers and really need to update your app or menu. I feel a class action lawsuit coming on.

Love Cowboy chicken & nice app. I am glad Cowboy Chicken decided to get an app , I recently used it to place a to go order. It is very easy to use and my order was ready when I showed up . I will be recommending to other Cowboy chicken goers !

App quit working. App will not “connect to network”, so online ordering and the rewards program aren’t available. How do I get credit for my $50 purchase? Is anyone trying to fix the app? If not, there are plenty of other places to get chicken.

Recent Update. I don’t know who was tinkering with the app but they ruined the interface. There is no longer a regular menu when ordering online. The only options are for catering now. I had rewards expiring and now I can’t use them. I reached on on Twitter and never saw a response. Deleting this app

Great food but app not great. This app will let you scan for reward points but will not load your actual rewards to redeem while in the store. It worked fine before the last update.

Highly Reccomend. The Cowboy App is super easy to use, fast and efficient. I definitely recommend the Cowboy Chicken app for ordering instead of Uber, Lyft, or any other middle man. This reduces additional delivery fees. Best chicken ever!

Juicy Chicken. Food is always fresh! Love the home style sides. The strawberry lemonade is wonderful! And so is the friendly staff, especially Brad. This is our go to place for a home cooked meal.

Can’t place order. It’s a nice app, but I’ve only been able to order once from the app. Every time I try to order it will say trouble connecting to network or problem with network. Once this major problem gets fixed it will be a nice app to use, until then it’s useless now.

Great stuff to eat!!. I’ve only been to this establishment (both locations in McAllen) here very recently and the food is very good. I’ve had a few issues, once with the accuracy of the order and one other with the app not working to earn my points but I will say the food is certainly very good albeit a bit pricey. I would recommended the sandwiches and the whole chicken. The sides have only been a few that I’ve tried and they are good. Fries and Mac and cheese along with the rolls. All good stuff!!!

App seems to be improved. Thanks for improving the app. I hope everything is now better than it was.

WTG !. Always have had great service with smiles and informative employees. One of the best reward programs out there. Eat there several times a month with savings close to $10 a month.

Can’t go wrong with Cowboy Chicken. The food is always on point in the entire menu. I’m into fitness, and I really find this place is a great healthy choice. The Quarter White, Greens Beans & Sweet Potato are just perfect for one of my daily meals.

Order readiness. The option to know how long it will take before placing order is vital for me. I’m ready to walk out and loose my money.

Great food, app leaves much to be desired. To be clear, I love Cowboy Chicken. It is my go-to for party food and for a quick, healthy dinner. I used to order thru their website but this app gives me $5 off rewards, so I started using the app. Problems: 1- app does not ask for desired delivery time, so when I’m not watching closely, I order for ASAP time - usually when I’m not home. 2- app does not show the promised delivery time, so I can’t check. 3- I have yet to receive an order on time when ordering thru the app (why I’m trying to check the time selected). I did not have issues with orders placed thru the website, so this is not a restaurant issue. This is not a major programming issue, so I’m surprised it exists and has not been corrected previously.

Love this restaurant. I love getting delivery from cowboy chicken, i work from home and i order 2 or three times a month. The delivery people are so nice too.

Kids meal. The kids meal doesn’t show up on Monday’s after 4 pm with a purchase of an entree.

Horrible. Horrible!!!!!!!!! Ordered at 6:10 PM.. Food finally delivered at 7:45 PM after calling. Order missing food, a full meal to feed my 2 kids. All I get is system error (app error not theirs but 3rd party.. the app.... Really????? All I get is we can send out the meal with no guarantee when. Seriously????? Horrible!!! Sioux Falls has way to many good places to eat and better service than this!!!!!!!!! I guess it’s the customer’s with hungry kids problem. Seriously think twice!!!!!

Love it! But needs work.... I love Cowboy Chicken! Every opportunity I have to influence lunch selection I choose them. That said, the app is finicky. I love that I can order from the app for most things. That I can pay for to go orders thru the app and in store with the app to rack up points (and I do rack them up). But I find that when I want to order Family Packs it always gives me trouble. It will tell me the item is not available but when I call the location I can place the order over the phone without issue. I do wish I could order Family packs through the app. It would save me a ton of time and hassle.

Disappointed. I was not able to use the ap first time as it kept saying error on modifier for the bbq sandwich. I tried many options over and over and never got it to accept. It’s the mod 2 jalapeño

So frustrating!. I hate the fact that when you put your order in and if you did pickup and need to change it to delivery, it deletes your entire order! Pickup or delivery should have no impact on what your ordering or clearing your cart.

Amazing Chicken. First time visiting and I really enjoyed the Delicious Grilled Chicken. Sandwich portion is Good and so tasty. The sides get even better . Will definitely be coming back for more :)

App has more issues than a magazine stand. It’s great when it works but, unfortunately, that seems to be only part of the time. The buttons are nonresponsive at times. Consistency would be nice.

WAS good… then they said let’s change it!. Now no one can figure out how to use the money in my account, or his to use reward money, or… ugh! LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!!

No Ranch Dressing. I ordered the Southwest Salad. Ranch Dressing was included in the description. I picked up my order and that went great! But when I got home, no Ranch Dressing included with my order. The only dressing I had at home was Caesar. Needless to say, my Salad was a big disappointment, because the salad was too dry to eat without dressing and Caesar dressing doesn’t go well will southwest ingredients.

Easy!. So easy to order, always have great coupons! Love their food!!

Is this legit or a scam?. I placed an order and they allowed me to pick a time for delivery. I then get a call From the store they won’t be able to deliver. I sent LevelUp an email and they said it’s not their responsibility and I have to go to the local store. Even though my credit card has a charge from Level Up.

Consistently fantastic, food, and service!. When I want fast, freakishly good fire, roasted chicken that comes with fantastically friendly service, Cowboy Chicken always delivers! Every time I walk in to pick up food I placed on the extremely easy to use app or order with one of the smiling cashiers, I always feel welcomed. The food has a home-cooked taste that is consistent every time. I am never disappointed. Sometimes we have our church group order and we pick it up and Brad has a always willing to help carry it to our car making sure we have everything. The Longview, TX store is rocking it!!!!! Keep on doing what y’all do best which is everything!!

1 step forward 2 steps back. We love Cowboy Chicken, but since they’ve updated the app our gift card and point redemptions only work for online order. It doesn’t work in the store. When we try ordering in the store they make us order through the app to get the gift card or discount price. Secondly, they removed certain options on the app for subbing things out. It feels like the app took a step backwards instead of forward. Hope they resolve this sooner than later.

Mods confusing. I like the app in all respects except mods. Last order my wife didn’t want onions on her salad. It would be better in my opinion if it listed the ingredients in the salad that can be removed. Than have an add mod for items that can be added or the amount increased.

Great food and great service at Irving location. Love the 1/4 white meat chicken breast! The meat is tender and flavorful. Also enjoyed the peach cobbler! Delicious! And great service by the folks in the Irving, TX location. I’ll be back!

Food is great- app needs work. Food is delicious. That said- The app needs to tell you something’s not available BEFORE you put it in the cart. As it is now- you have no idea what part of an order causes your meal to not be available! Are they out of the fries? The Mac & Cheese? The creamed spinach? beans? Who knows! I spent a good deal of time reworking a couple orders- they had the main items, but it was the SIDE choices causing the order to fail. This needs a fix ASAP!

Holy yumminess!. Best chicken in the neighborhood! I have tested it out several times now, wanted to be sure the first time wasn’t a lucky coincidence. Nope - these guys know how to cook a chicken! Juicy, delicious, crispy-skinned every time. And the sides are just as amazing! You get tons of food for very reasonable prices. Try it, you won’t regret it! Also, being able to order on the app and collect discounts is an added bonus. Thank you, Cowboy Chicken!

App failed to update my account. After updating the app, I had to log back in, but my password and account wasn’t accepted. I tried to reset my password, but never got the reset email, so I tried signing up again with the same email address, but it said that that email was already in use. I never did get my account set up again.

Delicious, but locations are different. Frisco’s location actually tastes a lot better than the Denton one. We go to both VERY frequently and the Frisco one always tastes fresher AND they actually give you a good amount of sides. For example, I might get 6 corn nuggets from Denton, but 10 from Frisco.

Level up app. This is the second time I’ve been within the last 2 weeks and the level up app isn’t working in the store. Then they were out of watermelon Tea.

App now fixed. Update 2/2/2023: The app was fixed and now works without incident. Just in time for me to use my $32 coupon, no less. So I’m changing my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. Now, the 5-star restaurant has a 5-star app to order from. Thanks for fixing it! App stopped working. Can’t use a $32 coupon I earned that expires in two days because the app is showing random locations that are 200+ miles away from me instead of the one right near me, even though my location services are on and the app is detecting my location. It won’t let me place a pickup or delivery order from any location near me. Note, this review is for the app, not for Cowboy Chicken itself; the restaurant gets 5/5 stars from me.

Chicken enchiladas. The chicken enchiladas were very tasty when the Ankeny location opened, but have shrunk in size and taste over the last 6 months. :(

Great Food, but app crashes. Love the food, but I could never get the app to work...always gives wheel of death

Cannot connect and no technical support. Tried to send an order and it was confirmed on my end through the app. My credit card was charged as well. The restaurant said nothing came through and you will have to call LevelUP. Well, they do not have a readily available number, on email and app messaging, which says they will get right back to you. This is not true, all I want is my money back that they are holding on to and not responding. Will be happy to remove this review if and when I get refunded.

Excellent chicken !. Absolutely love cowboy chicken and all their food the chicken is amazing wood fired ! Sweet potatoes are amazing! One of my favorite healthy places for lunch!

App needs a little work. There is absolutely no way can edit default credit card for ordering and going to the website had no account for me at all so not able edit there and loyalty number just a qr code in Apple Pay wallet so really not able pull info from the app to a web account

disappointed. App would not work when we purchased turkey for thanksgiving. Did Christmas dinner and app did not work. over 250.00 spent because you had to use outside catering. Cannot place delivery order. I enter all my details for the order and click Review Order then it errors saying cannot connect. "Something's gone wrong. Sorry, we're having trouble connecting to this business. Please try again." I have options to Cancel or Clear Cart, which causes me to start over. Trying to get a delivery from the Plano, TX location. Happy to adjust my review once it is fixed.

Slow delivery. Taking forever. I ordered almost an hour and half ago and it still isn’t here. Was told it would be delivered an hour ago.
