Great grooves... wish it had documentation. I’m a long time guitar player, now playing more and more bass. Funk Drummer is great for pushing me to focus on the groove. (That probably helps my guitar playing as well.) I wish, however, that there were better documentation available because I feel like I’m only using a fraction of what it can do.

The greatest update of all time!. The midi and multi channel audio out is the best feature! Please do the same for your other apps, especially the reggae drummer app! I already own all your apps but I would be extremely grateful!

Excellent sounds. This app makes my music creation easier and fun. Only wish it had more instructions.

Great for practice. This is what a phone drum app should be. Quick to play drum grooves with a little variety to make you not think about the loop for a bit. I would not record with it, but I use it more than a couple of hours a week. Thank you. Please give us user some more kit; or maybe an amp model effect to give the kits in the app more sonic options. Please more snare sound the more I use this the more the snares bother me.

eeeYYYYoooo!!!!😮🤫😲. I’ve been using the very GLITCHY CDUBS LOOPS Zappa for about 2 years now, which also kept me lazy. It got the job done primarily in a moderate small church situation. Yet again, GLITCHY and each update seems to make it less and less reliable. So, late last night my playlists were totally erased. Long story short, I opened this app again remembering how dope it was yet was too spoiled to truly learn it. I was able to use it today f maybe 8 song playlist. I can mix each individual drum; effects like compression and DELAY 🗣OOO. The DELAAAAAY!!😱. My music today got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS. I had people coming up to my keyboard, sending me text etc that the music was so good today. JAM INTENSITY😱😱. SONG MODE!?!?! MARTINEZ IS A GENIUSand very thoughtful developer THANKS!!! AND I was able to load it IAA into AUM

So Funky!. This is probably the Best of their Drum Apps although they are all great and Humanize the Beats so they don’t sound like a Machine. This app Syncs up with IBassist so you have an Instant Backing to Jam or Record to! I have had some Lagging issues between the apps if I have too much going on at once. If this happens, disable the links and re-boot the ones you plan to use only and sync those. This seems to correct this Sync Problem. I addressed it on the IBassist Reviews also before I tried this. These are some of the Best Ipad Music Production Apps on the Store...period.

Unbelievably good. Been loving this and FutureDrummer for years but the March 2021 updates make these apps instant classics. I own the great Brazilian Drum Machine too and can’t wait until it also gets MIDI and audio export.

New IAP? Bring it. LM is my go to. Choose one of his apps, buy it, fire it up, and you'll be surprised how quickly it becomes essential. I bought Funk Drummer first, and it's still my favourite years later.

Rating app does not add new sound set?. I’ve tried rating the app multiple times, but it doesn’t register with the app. I get the message “No rating found”. Other than that it works great. Nice sounds and easy to use.

My Favorite Practice Tool for Bass!. This thing is DOPE. I’ve been playing Nass professionally for 27 years and many of you know, our practice tools compared to some others can be limited and bulky. This thing with my interface and a pair of headphones is all I need to write and practice all day. VERY user friendly and covers the spectrum of FUNK.. if you guys are giving out any of the other apps in exchange for demo work, I’m all over it! Thanks!

So far so good. I like it.. definitely has tons of funk. I just wish there was a way to expert midi in the multitrack way versus the whole song in one track.

Closest you will get to a real drummer. If you are looking for a replacement for the GarageBand drummer you came to the right spot. Lumbeat’s apps are the closest you will get to jamming with a real drummer. The beat flow is natural and smooth feeling. The only way to get a more natural feel and sound is to jam with a real human! AUV3 would send these apps over the top, but you can export stems or full mixes to any source, like a DAW to utilize in songs. I highly recommend any of Lumbeat’s drum apps‼️

Very good but.... Don’t get me wrong the program is great, but I’m annoyed that I keep getting bothered to write a review for the Apple Store. It’s almost like the app is on usable until you Review it! Things should work that way.

Happy. I would like to write a basic short review so far I have purchased a total of maybe 5 to 6 Luis Martinez drum apps I absolutely love them all I have gotten as many updates as I can and order as many sounds asAs I can possibly use so far I have nothing but very good things to say I would recommend these apps to anyone who is serious about sound and connectivity with different styles of music

Tech glitch …. Update. I have an iPhone 13 max. And when you open the sounds menu to scroll through the different drum samples to assign … it’s whited out. So you can’t see the sample selections. At all!

Just keeps getting better! Now with midi!. I have been using Funk Drummer for song ideas and just jamming since it first came out. This latest update adds even more control, midi functions and it just seems to "groove" better. To me, the best sounding "real human" drum/groove maker for IOS! Again Funk Drummer adds features that make it one of the most useful music apps I own. Midi in and out are awesome. Can't wait to see what they come up with next, it's already my favorite rhythm/drum app!

Seriously unbelievable!. This is a must have app for anyone looking to make a Grammy winning record from their dads old phone in grandmas basement. You don’t deserve to be the best drummer ever but this app is your loophole.

Jamstix for iOS!. When I migrated my music production from PC to iOS, one of the programs I missed the most was Rayzoon Jamstix. I discovered Funk Drummer and now I don’t miss Jamstix as much! This app is perfect for adding a human sounding drummer to your songs.

2000 HOURS USER. Overall a great drum app that translates well in my final mixes. I’m a bass player and the drums inspire great lines and creations. Normally I don’t make funk music with this-more like Lofi, blues, mellow chill vibe trip hop stuff. Took me quite a while of experimenting back and forth checking my levels and drum tracks in the car and such. Love the delay section if you know what your doing it really helps to get a cohesive rolling drum track. I wish it had a live fill button or a simple / minimal fills option. Sometimes the fills don’t trigger when set to. It would be awesome to be able to change the user interface color. Mixer volume sensitivity is a little off so takes some get used to. More usable sound packs please - I would pay double the cost easy if these things were available. I’d highly recommend this to iPad users. 4.5 out of 5.

I'm Amazed!. Up until now I didn't think any thing could touch Launchpad, then to find out that not only is it great on it's own, that it will work WITH Launchpad??? I'm amazed! You all will get 5 out of 5 stars when I'm blessed with a manual so I can approach this great app logically!

Nice but.... Several issues... doesn't have any way to export, and when you straight record it, the timing is off the first beat on recordings. You can't import your own sounds, but at least it has midi. There are a few things i would set up more flexibly, but this developer doesnt like to listen to feedback. Oh well...

Very nice upgrade!. Nice to see the developer coming out with new apps but also coming back to already released apps like this one and bringing forth some of the new features from his other apps. I got this during the price drop. Seeing how he has implemented a method for purchasing extra content within an app, it makes me curious about how pricing will go moving forward.

Jus wha ah neaded.... Nice... A little pricey I wish there was a bundle offering to get things a little cheaper seeing as how I am poor ha ha… Hope to get the new sounds that from writing this review which is sincere and that the funky drummer is a very fun and interesting opportunity to do new music...

Organist, Keybroads. I'm really loving this "Funk Drummer " When ever my drummer don't show for rehearsal or even a gig.... my go to is Funk Drummer. I'm just having a problem with the "count in " feature, doesn't work most of the time. If you can fix the "count in" gladly give all five stars... it's really that good😬 Oh yeah..... Alphabetizes the user beat list would be great. Is that possible

In the Pocket. Funk Drummer offers a good variety of grooves and the ability to program a head to sequence different styles and even kits. If you put it in an application like AUM mixer/bus and use of a AUV3 plug-ins, you can direct record beats and funk around with the feel to your soulful delight. With adjustable swing and multiple real drummer screws emulated, this is a powerhouse app that could be used for demos or even professional studio applications. If you’re not satisfied with the in-house sounds, drop it in a DAW, or start it in AUM and direct-record out into Audioshare or a DAW for live performance/recording sessions. I have a needed to look any further than the customizable sounds that are in it, but I’m going to bet that this is a very nice midi controller. I love the odd meter and fusion groove templates. I’d love some more of the odd meter. And I am impressed by Nete Smith, which seems to be a great synthesis/combination of 2 great beatsmiths, Nate Smith and Steve Smith. Keep it funky!

Useful in so many ways. When we write, we’ve all got a million loops that we can pull from online. But this thing makes it so quick to adapt a groove to fit exactly what we are looking for. Is it performance ready for a record? Probably not without a good bit of editing and such. But it’s a wonderful resource. REALLY wish I knew how to start from scratch with 32nd notes. If the developer reads this, and I’m being dumb about it, please show me the way. Otherwise, kudos on a great app!!!

About the new update…. I just reinstalled this app after not using it for a few months and I’m not really sure what all is different but this is an excellent company and I have total faith in anything that they do…If I could make one suggestion on a future product could you make one of these drum machines for dubstep???

Oh, Higher Than 5 Stars Totally. Why can’t I get this rating higher than 5? Seen lots of sequencers and drum apps before. None can touch this one! I couldn’t come close to this type of programming. Feels real enough to me. If it’s all about the sound, than this has got it! If it’s all about the grooves, then this has got it! I went back and got 2 more programs from Luis and looking at a 3rd! I’m officially a huge fan of these apps and have never experienced a program like it. You can supply the basics of a beat you want by step inputting it and let this brilliant algorithm take care of all the rest,... the fills and the intensity you want to happen! Truly awesome!

Fun and addicting. It’s like a hired drummer in the iPad. Has been working perfect for my projects so far, and inspired me to write more songs and in different ways. I love this and all the apps by this company.

Great sounds and feel. Easy to learn , great interfaces, The song mode is missing ability to add multiple kits within a song .. there no way to play ride and hi hat within same song Everything else is tops

Like all Lum stuff, great. This is extremely useful for songwriting, practice, jamming, etc. Program in how much the drummer has drunk, if you like… these drummers are extremely flexible, and never need a bathroom break.

Keeps getting better. Each time the developer introduces a new app he adds features that then make their way to all his other apps. I own all of the apps and they are all excellent. Together they are a library of rhythm that you can use to start almost any project.

OMG, I am one Funky Player!. Funk Drummer is another in the Lumbeat app drummer series. Along with iBassist these apps are incredible for quickly getting down your musical ideas. The beats and patterns you can quickly create are inspiring. I have since purchased everyone of the Lumbeat apps. I am a solid fan of all their apps. They have nailed down a resource that every iPad music creation user should have in their musical toolbox. 100% recommend their purchase. Don't think twice just dive in and start enjoying the experience.

Great Value. This is an app that will leave you with a feeling that you have gotten a lot of value for your money. Deep, or simple, it is intuitive and overall very very well done!

Tremendously disappointed. Was using this app on the stand for over a year and loved it. The last update took away the ability to be triggered by another devices start and stop midi commands. (Boss Looper) The only way now to trigger start and stop is to send midi note or cc commands. App is now useless to me. Updates are supposed to improve, not take away features. Software development 101. So sad.

Like have a drummer to jam with.. I just love this app! Not only can you use it to program songs but it also has a great improv mode that is adjustable that makes it feel really organic. I can’t live without it!

One of my two favorites. so I have purchased all but a few of us guys apps and the two I most consistently use our Soft Drummer and this one. All of them are well worth the cost if you are serious about devising, interesting new beats if you’re looking for something to actually record studio quality, drums, I would say future drummer could cut that mustard probably not any of the others, but playing along with any one of them is really one of the best drum machine apps experience youll have. my only nit to pick is something technical about the other drummers available for purchase. I purchased the clyde drummer using my phone and I can access it on my phone but not on my iPad. I’d be happy to purchase it again for my iPad but I can’t even get that option. I did email the guy who makes this and he got back to me once but he didn’t respond the second round of requests for fixing it. again, a small nit to pick but i really want that clyde kit, get it?

Great app, out of the box! Hungry for more!. I really enjoy the ease of use. These apps are great song writing tools. Just start a pattern and let the inspiration flow. The fills come, slight changes happen, all in an ease of use package. I’m hoping updates of these apps will continue to add more patterns and ideas, especially in odd meters! Great!

Almost like having a real drummer in the room, but without the need to buy beers and keep a close eye on your girlfriend, or your sister, or mum, or aunt, or grandma, or high school photos from the 70s, or your favourite woolly beanie, or soft centred fruit in the fridge, or the pet cat, or any new soft furnishings, or the vegetable garden, or your neighbour’s letter box or .......

Solid app... could be EPIC. I do love this app, it’s a lot of fun and sounds pretty decent. But like every drum app on iOS, it’s still missing key features to make it a really useful tool for me at this point. I really love the half time and double beat features of this app. The fore mentioned features was why I decided to try it out. The sound is quite impressive indeed. And the layout is really simple and easy to work with... Not sure how you could find the layout unintuitive it’s very straight forward and well throughout. The app plays pretty well with other IAAs apps etc. For me to give it a 5 star rating and to actually use it regularly (and think its worthy of the current asking price) I’d love to see in future app dates: - upload own kits/samples - auv3 compatibility - ADSR or even AD would sooo useful on snare and kick - pitch control would be super handy - export stems and midi/midi stems - I love the jam feature however, to be able also choose particular jam patterns or fills for sequencing would be really useful. Overall its a great app and would highly recommend for a lot of people... it’s just no quite there yet for me and my needs from a drum app. A top app from Lumbeat, hope it keeps getting updated with useful features. Great work. :)

Funky wawww. e son est impeccable, la syncro aussi. Les rythme son extrêmement interessant, versatile et bien classé, il serait interessant qu’ils soit sous classé en signature rythmique comme pour les percutions east west qui donne le 3/4, 7/8 9/8 etc. Le jam mode est vraiment une belle idées. Je donnerais La 5 em etoile si dans un update on pourrais voir apparaître la fonction qui permettrais de sauvegarder les kit sur les pad parce que présentement les beat sont sauvegarder ainsi que l’intensité du jam mais pas le son du drum qu on a choisi. Le midi aussi peu et doit etre amélioré car ces la meilleurs appli de drum que jai jamais vu et ces cell que j’utilise en show donc plus de midi , avec des hold fonctions etc , merci

Chock full!. There is a huge variety of patterns and sounds right out of the box. About 100* better than practicing with a metronome :)

Buy them all. As I said on Soft drummer .. you will actually make music with these. Play with a team.. get a real fake drummer !!!! Better than Addictive drums on Mac for the groove randomization. Lots of happy accidents!!

Funk Drummer got the gig. Ever since using Logic Drummer, I've been hoping for something like it to use live. Funk Drummer is the answer. Just enter one or two bars of the basic rhythm and FD does the rest. Control how the amount of jamming and swing with sliders. Very tasty fills can be programmed or done on the fly with pads. I used it at a gig last night and the samples sounded great. It won't do hi hat and ride on the same patch however. And no cowbell. Song mode worked great up to 12 songs and then went sideways - a little buggy here and there. Overall it sounded great live and I'm sticking with it despite a few workarounds. And the Ableton Link feature is groundbreaking if you need to sync with other apps. PS It would be great to map the jamming slider to a hardware control. Thanks Luis!

Really good app. Amazing drum app, would need a couple of tweaks and it would be perfect. If it was possible to change the individual drum sounds (pitch, decay etc) and also if the effects could be applied on separate parts of the drums (ex: reverb only on the snare). But still really good app, some of the funkiest drum beats I ever heard. I think the jam slider is magical.

New version of Funk Drummer doesn’t work with tempo 4/6. I updated FunkDrummer. The new version plays only 4 mesures and stops. No looping at all. Please consider this. Other than that everything else is perfect. Thanks.

Absolutely amaizng and promising more. Amazing idea, wonderfull realisation and great results already. I own also Rock Drum Machive and Soft Drummer - all are great tools. The app is great for drummer-less jamming and even more serious gigs, or just putting up some ideas. Imagine a crazy creative drummer who is always in sync and not ever complaining? That's the one - and he's also got like a dozen nice kits. Pros: Great idea and implementation. Live and song mode - lifesavers, midi controlling - great icing on the cake, and the drumming performance is actually very solid. Many new functions can be added to make the jamming even more controllable and fun. Cons: Graphics and UI cry for a professional touch (I can help with that :) Some of the buttons are very small and hard to hit, fonts are hard to read Can we have at least a couple more user banks? Some of the drum itmes sound a bit too raw and unballanced in terms of EQ. I find comp is useless and it does not behave like a dedicated drum compressor should. Overall I highly recommend this app. Good job Luis and the team! I am now waiting impatiently for the Rock drummer update.

FINALLY ! THE GREAT IOS DRUM MACHINE.. Congratulations! You have hit it out of the park with this and the "Rock Drums" version of your elegant machine. Almost every consideration I can think of has been given to "live performance" requirements along with the inclusion of other great features such as your, quirky, "jam" level ( basically, a "taste" filter ) the ultra smooth swing transition slider and the 3 different ways to adjust tempo on the fly. These along with countless other great features make this a very solid gigging tool, indeed. I will defiantly be raving to my fellow musicians about these two gems. In fact, I'm so impressed that, although rather pricey, at just over $50.00 for the pair, I do not feel short changed in any way after plunking down my hard earned cash. Fantastic app… although…. Best by far drumming app that I’ve found. Midi sync can be a little straying sometime and midi itself can be oddly functioning but you won’t find one better at sounding like a human.

Awesome but there’s a new sync bug. Midi sync not working with Loopy HD as master in v3.1 - tempo starts off by 2-3bpm and then dithers +/- 3bpm. In previous version I could set tempo by recording a first loop in Loopy, and that would launch this app perfectly in sync. New version is tight and groovy with Ableton Link, but then tempo has to be set before recording first loop and a click is necessary. Still amazing app even with this (hopefully temporary) issue.

Such a dream demo helper$$. I used the new song improvements and find it works intuitively for song demo construction.

My favorite of all the LM drum apps. Great tones and beats. I love the presets and the flexibility to change the sounds and make your own kits. All of these are awesome!

Organic Rhythms. This is a top-notch practicing tool. The variations built into the presets make for a convincing emulation that really pushes you if you listen closely. It’s made my playing stronger. Well worth the price.

Awesome beats but in app purchases don’t sync across devices. I purchased the additional drummers on my iPad, but the app is requiring me to purchase them again on my iPhone. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars.

I own most all of his apps. I own all of his drummer apps except modern drummer! Ever one is exceptional! Great sounds and almost infinite possibilties!

Lumbeat- The best.. Not much to say , except that this company is the best for drums sounds, jamming, creating etc. Worth every penny.

Great jams. Funk Drummer is a blast. I have this in addition to Soft Drummer and Jazz Drummer. These beats provide a lot of inspiration for creating new jams. I love using these with Quantiloop, AUM and/or Audiobus when I am writing new tunes.

Great app! A secret weapon. This is my favorite of all the music apps I discovered in 2018. Still learning how I will integrate into my whole production workflow, but definitely a game changer!

Wow. Love the app but every time I open the app I have to set the crash cymbals volume every time can you’ll fix this please When I set the master volume it stays where I set it when I open the app again

The best live drummer app!. This is a great addition to my drum resources. Sampling the grooves and the kits into BeatMaker 3, I’m able to get tons of sick grooves together without jumping through all of the hoops involved with importing audio. This rules.

The best hands down. As a drummer I can say that the drum machine apps from this developer are the best you can get for the IOS platform. In simple words just buy it!

Best real funk style drum app. This is a great real sounding drum app. I like all this developers apps including the iBass app. Have them all, love them all. The best in my opinion.

Great app tp work your timing. I like the fact it is not to complicared. I luke to use it as a mentronime without the tic to tic sound. The count in feature is nice to have.

It’s ruined now. Same ol story. People just can’t leave a good thing alone. If it’s not broke fix it til it is. This use to be a sensational app and I didn’t mind spending whatever it cost but now it’s worthless cuz of that groove bar that has to be on I don’t know what its called but it ruined the way this app worked.
