Tempo - Metronome with Setlist Comments & Reviews 2026
Great App. I use this all the time for practicing guitar, not just for steady pace for chord changes, picking, etc but just as an approximate measure count when just trying to get repetition. With both the guitar & horn it's also a great help to get objective feedback on my ability to speed up the pace with a passage as I get better. Another neat trick that I'll need another for (my wife's) I will start 2 metronomes at once to get a better feel for how, for example, eighth notes & triplets sound together - helpful when another orchestra section is playing something different. Using this app also increases my ability to use my ear for my surrounding while playing, to better play with others during rehearsals or performances. Finally, this has many options, & for an amateur like me it's perfect. My ability to listen and play to what I hear, i think essential for anyone who wants to play with others, absolutely improves with this.
Garbage. All I wanted was a simple system to provide 4 bars of count so my band could get the correct tempo for each song we played. After figuring out the unintuitive, clumsy interface, I was technically able to do that. But once a song is entered in a set list, you can’t edit the tempo to fine tune it - you need to enter it all over again. And when you play the set list in gig mode, it won't stop at 4 bars, it only does that in preset mode. Nor will it advance to the next song. Plus the sounds available are really overblown. Worthless for what I needed, which was pretty simple actually.
Great app; not perfect. I HAVE to give this app 4 stars because I have used it for years! Used when touring, playing worship, everything. Never thought, for once, to NOT give 5 stars until a few weeks ago… I have advocated for all worship team drummers get this app, and told them how amazing it was. I told them about features, reliability, and how we can export the “Master” list that I have spent years compiling. There in lies the problem and reason for the 4 stars… I CANNOT get the export feature to work! I have tried the “tempo” list and basic text list, but NONE export. In fact, they cause the app to crash and close. I have reinstalled again and again to no avail. I have tried exporting from my phone (much shorter list though), and it does the same thing. As you can see, this is a MAJOR problem for US. If you do not have to export your list, this is a 6 star app! If you need to export, I can’t endorse on that fact alone. I do hope the developers see this and respond. Support has been dismal…
Perfect Metronome. I’ve been using this app for over 12 years now on a daily basis. It has beautiful design, excellent sounds, every subdivision and tempo map I could ever need, and every feature they add makes the experience even better. I have never once been disappointed by this app. It is perfect and indispensable and I plan on using it for the rest of my life lol.
Fantastic; get this app!. Pretty sure I first got this app around 9 years ago or so when I was playing a lot of shows, and I remember it as being a pretty good basic metronome back then. The last few years I’ve been out of the loop but recently started up again and wow this app has come a long way! Love the modes and the ability to quickly and easily create setlists, as well as customize just about any aspect you want: the look, the sound, and many other options like being able to wave your hand over the phone to advance to the next song. Get this app!
I use it everyday.. Tempo is a solid and very responsive metronome app. I love how quickly it starts as soon as you touch the screen, which is important when starting a metronome mid song. Tempo has the best response time of any metronome app I’ve ever used. All of the settings are laid out intelligently, and there’s more functionality than I’ll ever use. Nothing seems to get in the way of the flow of the moment, whether practicing or performing. I highly recommend it.
This was my go-to metronome..... And then a glitch started. When pressing the tempo up or down button and holding it shifts the tempo by 10’s, how wet randomly it will glitch out and increase or decrease tempo to maximum or minimum and any adjustment of tempo takes you to max or min. Only way to reset the glitch is to restart the app. This was on my iPhone 6 and now the same bug on my iPhone XS. I emailed support a long time ago and still have not heard back. I loved this app but now it is literally unusable in a professional setting.
Close to the perfect metronome app, needs updates set lists.. This has been my go to metronome app now for years. It has every option I need and it’s super easy to get up and running. My only constructive feedback is that the set list and songs need a better UI. It’s not intuitive to edit and manage lists. Little things like clicking the add icon to open a save dialog, switch to overwrite, select the song you need to update and hit save is not cool. I still haven’t figured out how to rename a set. And it’s been years. I’m a software developer, so things like this bother me a little. Otherwise it’s a fantastic app. Get it.
Great app! Wish it had ONE thing…. This is a great app. I use it for our band rehearsals and shows so I appreciate the ability to export and share set lists (and the ability to export/import them). The ONE feature I wish it had was when not stopping before the next song in a set list, you could specify a delay in seconds before the next song in the list starts automatically. A dedicated hardware unit I have for running shows (it does audio backing tracks, midi, etc) has this feature and it’s really handy. Would give this app 5/5 stars if it did. Great otherwise!
NEEDS DIFFERENT VOLUMES FOR SUBDIVISIONS. UPDATE! Tap tempo does not work for iPhone 7 with current app version. Please fix it soon. Tap tempo still works perfectly on my iPad 2. A nice app! I'm a big fan of the bar counting feature. I use it every day for my practice. What I would like to see is more control over the dynamic levels of the beats. The current setup, normal, loud and mute, get the job done, but I'd really like to see just one more volume level. Another met app of mine features 4 volume levels for the beats and I just like it that way. A good app all around. Set list feature seems to function well.
Amazing except one thing.... So this app is perfect EXCEPT for the fact that it periodically glitches. What happens is when you try to speed scroll to a different tempo using the + and - signs, it goes SUPER fast in whatever direction you’re tying to go. Example: I’m at 80bpm and I wanna go to 140bpm so I hold down the + button for a couple seconds, expecting it to go up by 10’s at a medium speed, and it jumps to 300bpm before I can stop it. I check for an update every time this happens and there’s usually none. The only thing I’ve found to work is restarting the app but that doesn’t even fix it for more than 5 minutes or so. This is a really stupid glitch that should be fixed, especially for an app I paid like $5 or whatever for.
Almost perfect. This app gets the job done. Definitely worth the money. The interface could use a little tweaking. For example, when I go to add a song from a prior set list, if I accidentally exit out before hitting add, it could warn me. That way I don’t lose the song I chose. Additionally, updating tempos of existing tracks is a pain on older iPads. I really like how it’s done on the phone and wish it was the same on the iPad.
Great app!. As a musician, this is one of the handiest apps on my ipod touch and ipad. If you were to buy a standalone metronome that did everything that this app does, it would cost at least $100. At $5, this app is a must buy for every musician! I've owned this app for over 13 years, and every update continues to raise the bar. Best yet, I haven't had to pay for updates since my initial purchase.
The Go-To Metronome. I’ve used Tempo for years, and it has worked well for everything, from orchestra conducting to teaching piano lessons. I always recommend it as the best practice tool a student can have, at a fraction of the cost of a traditional device. It has too many good features to list, but my favorite may be subdivision of the beats to best suit the practice requirements.
Must Have. As a drummer, I have been using Frozen Ape Tempo apps in some capacity for years now. The Tempo Advance app is great, and I loved always having it on my phone but I didn't use it live. Once this version came along, the streamlined UI and easy set list features really captured me and I've totally replaced my Tama Rhythm Watch live. I prefer this over the Advanced version, because in a live setting I like having less to accidentally mess up. You really don't ever need a standalone metronome ever again and not in a "I can live with this since it's so convenient" kind of way--this product is actually much better than physical metronomes that cost up to 140 dollars.
Can't get sounds on Apple watch?. I downloaded this very full-featured app because I wanted to be able to have a set list of tempos on my Apple Watch. I don’t need the metronome to go through the whole song I just need a quick click to give me the Tempo to start the song. There doesn’t appear to be a way to get sound or vibration to come out of the Apple Watch (like you can with Click, another app that doesn't do set lists). I don’t want to have to bring my phone on stage, it’s really convenient to just have my watch vibrate a few times or click to give me a Tempo to start the song. This app has 1000 features and I’m amazed it doesn’t have the one feature I need
Set list feature. There are many apps out there, so if all you need is a basic metronome, take your pick. This adds the extra features key to any gigging musician; most notably the ability to not only store preset song tempos, but arrange them into set lists. Add to that things like the ability to manually tap the tempo to set it, ability to change the visual features of the timekeeper, multiple time signatures to choose from, etc., it’s a solid app. One star off for intuitive interface: You have to get used to how to get around the app to do things, but once you tinker around, you’ll get the hang of it.
Amazing. This app works wonderfully. I used it not only as a standard metronome, but also to help myself learn three against four rhythms as well as master the syncopation in a Gershwin piece I'm learning, using the different time signatures and the different levels of accent. The ability to select exactly which beats to accent (and/or be silent) as well the different note values is invaluable to me, and has really helped me overcome my difficulties with rhythm. The interface is easy to work with, and I love the feature which allows you to tap out the desired tempo. Everything needed is right at your fingertips; it is not hard at all to make any sort of adjustment to the settings, major or minor. (Also, fiddling with the background colors is fun!) This app is the best metronome I have ever used, and I would definitely recommend it.
Recently crashing Nov ‘24. I’ve used this app for a LONG time, and overall it was always great and reliable. Unfortunately, the setlist function keeps crashing on me when I try to add a song from a different set, which was a very awesome time saving feature. Now, every time I click it the app crashes so I have to manually add songs for EVERY SETLIST. As a leader in a cover band, that can take about 30 mins for a 4 set gig where it used to take me about 5-10 mins. Really hope you can update it!
Almost Perfect. I have been using the app for a few years now and thoroughly enjoying it. I also heartily recommend the app to all who ask for a recommendation. The design is clean and easy to understand, and the sounds are crisp, loud, and satisfying in a long practice session. My favorite sound is the “cowbell”, and the addition of the second accent makes this app even more effective. However, even a great app doesn’t always come with only superlatives... For one, whenever I increase or decrease the tempo, the dial goes “crazy” and instead going up or down in increments of 10, it goes super fast all the way to a maximum or minus value. It usually happens to me when I am rehearsing with other people and it is frustrating to not be able to rely on the app when most needed. The second issue is more of a suggestion to the developers. Please increase the volume of the reference tones, if possible. In a crowded and noisy environment, it is heard to hear unless I press the phone right to my ear. I’m a percussionist and sometimes tuning timpani before rehearsal becomes an unnecessarily tricky to hear the reference times behind all the chaos from the rest of the orchestra. These are small gripes to an otherwise excellent metronome app. I tried many of them and gave up after a while. Keep up the great work!
Tempo rated high. This program is far superior to other ones I’ve tried. Very easy to set and my 80+ year old brain needs all the help it can get!! It only took several minutes to figure out the system. I’m much more simple tan most. I’ve been at this for about 20 years now so I’m far from accomplished but this instrument sure helps. Bill Gimbel
Great, but.... I love this app and use it frequently. However when holding down the +\- to change tempo, the tempo changes so rapidly that I slide right past 140 bpm and suddenly find myself at 250+ bpm (and increasing drastically) when I held it down for a second. That is, if the app could allow for tempo changes from 90 bpm to 150 without sliding right past it and finding yourself at 340 in a split second, It would be better. The app didn’t used to do that. But still the app is fantastic
Great App But Has Its Issues. Been using this app for a few months a the click track for our worship team. It’s been great, then suddenly the volume changes without notice at different tempos. I.E. today we played a song at 105 and quarter note beats. The volume was maxed on the iPad, but was barely audible through our in ear monitors. When we switched to the second track, at 90bpm, and 1/8 notes, volume nearly doubled in the ears causing everyone to groan and pull their ears out immediately. Tried programming at half tempo and 1/8 notes, no luck. Tried deleting and recreating the song, no dice. Tried a completely different device, same issue. Didn’t matter. It’s quite annoying. We really need to get this fixed. It seems to be a program or coding error, and it would be nice to get it figured out. It seems like anything below 65 bpm and anything around 105bpm are at about 2/3 volume. Having anyone from the developer reach out to fix this would be awesome.
1 more feature?. As a piano teacher, I teach students to demystify rhythmic groupings in the two hands played against each other from the simple, 2 against 3 (I want-a-hug) or 3 against 4 (pass the-bread and butter), to the complex (finding the least common divisor, then using the metronome for that long group and fitting the 2 different patterns together slowly). The technology of this app is way beyond what would be required to put two different groups against each other (each at a different timbre). I would gladly give up having a fuchsia background with birds and monkeys for one more real tool!
Runaway tempo PLEASE FIX!. I love Tempo. Only one persistent glitch that drives me a little bonkers. I often use the metronome as a way of building up speed in a piece I am practicing. For example, I’ll play a passage at 80, then 90, then 100, etc. Tenpo has a feature that if you press and hold the + or - to increase or decrease the tempo, it will continue to increase or decrease by 10s until you release your finger. However, due to a bug (I guess) after doing a press-and-hold two or three times, eventually upon release the number will continue to rise or fall all the way without stopping. The only way to restore the press-and-hold feature is to close the app and restart it, which is a pain when you are trying to practice. This has been going on for years despite the updates. I’m hoping the developers will read this and fix the bug!
Big Gig. Some years ago, I had a very important gig with a very famous person who, on top of being a legend and a brilliant musician was a stickler for songs, starting a little bit slower live knowing that we have an inclination to speed up once were off the click. I initially downloaded this app to have a quick handy reference live when counting off from behind the kit and used it well as to practice through the set as well. I found it easy and intuitive as a basic metronome. Then I discovered I could practice various snare rudiments and guitar mandolin exercises and have them speed up as measures passed. I just fell in love with this app. There are other features that I have not used but they are here when needed. If I’m not mistaken, I have been using it since 2015 and I honestly never use anything else at this point. Eric NYC
Split view support. I use this app exclusively for live gigs. It’s set list and click features are great!! I also use an x32 app to control my in ear mix. I recently moved to an iPad Pro for the split view feature to eliminate having to use 2 iPads. Unfortunately, the tempo app is not supported in split view. Can this be changed?? That would make this app even better, if that’s even possible!
Cross rhythms. This tempo app works very well as far as it goes: it’s easy to understand its functions, and it’s convenient. I wish though, that there was a way to indicate accurately more uncommon cross rhythms such as a pianist finds in Chopin or other late Romantics: six in the left hand against 17 in the right, or four in the left against nine in the treble hand. It seems that that could be easily computed with modern technology and made available to us who are trying our darndest to play the rhythm’s as indicated by the composer. Thank you. I like the app and use it often.
Very Useful App but needs iCloud set list syncing. I use this app very frequently and it is designed very well and useful for rehearsing and calling up songs quickly. I wanted to use this on multiple devices (such as iPad) but my setlists and songs were input on the iPhone. While the setlists can be emailed and imported, that is not very convenient for a person who switches device frequently and needs to keep the lists synced between devices. I would love to see iCloud syncing of the lists in future updates.
Love it!. It’s a great metronome app, you can save certain tempos and time signatures and everything. Really easy to use. One thing I would love though, is if we could use the play/pause buttons on our phones to stop and start the metronome. I use my headphones a lot to practice with my metronome and I’m constantly accidentally pressing the play/pause button on my headphones, and having my music blasting randomly in my ears with the metronome still going. So if there’s a way you could do that, that would be awesome!
Excellent daily musical practice. I’ve purchased this metronome many years ago and have consistently used it in my daily practice routine. As a professional musician and professor of Guitar I endorse this metronome based on the following; accuracy, ease of access, and multiple options of beat division and time signatures. I’ve owned several metronomes over the last 30 years, and this is by far the best. Additionally, nobody has asked me to say this; no one has paid me for my comments. This is an authentic review.
Good app, just one thing missing for me. This app is pretty good. The one thing that would make it excellent for me would be the ability to set it to change subdivisions after a specified amount of bars that you set. For example you set it up so one bar is in 1/4 notes then the next two bars are 8th notes, then a bar of triplets then the next three bars are in 16th notes. You set it and it flows one after the other so you connect from one subdivision to the next. The app called SpeakBeat has this feature and it makes practicing trickier and more fun. On your app I see the randomizer which is cool, but I don’t see anything like what I just described SpeakBeat offers, unless I’m missing something.
Good, but could be better. I wish the subdivisions and downbeat could be on faders, like dr beat or tama rhythm watch, allowing a custom mix of subdivisions. How about a feature that enables you to program tempos, time signature changes, accelerando, ritardandos, and fermatas, essentially allowing you to program a usable customized click track. Another great feature would be to allow synchronization to other devices via Bluetooth or even across FaceTime or zoom platforms. Also, a reverse metronome feature that hears tempo and displays bpm all would make this app a homerun! Still, one of the best metronome apps out there.
Great features, UI could use refinement. Love the ability to create set lists rather than switching tempos manually. The features work as designed and thus far the app is very stable. The user interface navigation is a little convoluted and could be more intuitive. I’m a fairly experienced software/app user and it took me a few tries to figure things out…less experienced users might struggle.
App shuts down when I try to share setlist. I have the Tempo in two iPads and my phone. The main iPad has most of my setlists for a around 15 artists, but I can’t share those lists to my secondary iPad or anything else. I started a new setlist for a new artist on my secondary iPad last night and when I went to share that list(email or text) with my phone it not only shut down, but it erased half of what I programmed. I’ve used this app for more than 5 years, but I may have to find something else unless this can be fixed.
Great app, one suggestion.. I love this app. I'm a professional drummer, and this app is indispensable, both on the gig and when I'm teaching. I recommend it to everyone who asks. My one suggestion for the app is this. I have a lot of folders for different bands and their click tracks. There are 200 tunes+ in some folders and some band leaders like to call up different sets every night. It's slightly tedious to search for a song, scroll down to it, drag to the spot you want and then do that 45 more times. Anyway to expedite that? I know I'm being picky, but as an avid user of the Tempo app, this is my only (very tiny) complaint. Rock on, Thanks.
Tempo app. Get in touch with me. I’ve got some ideas. Let’s do lunch. I’d suggest adding features to the “Automator” ie; allow us to program the tempo to not only increase OR decrease after a certain number of beats but to also be able to program it to increase AND decrease in the same sitting.. it would add another level of depth to a workout. For instance, after the tempo reaches 250bpm, have it go back down in tempo in the same or adjusted number of increments without having to readjust the settings.
Good for Professional Drumming and whatever Setlist. This is the best metronome app for 84 reasons. A.) I find it to be easier to use than competitors. I also like the Pro Metronome app but it’s harder for me to set up a Setlist because of scrolling and eyesight issues, in that particular app. W.) It’s worth the couple dollars if you seriously give a crap about subjective reviews and have wasted your tempo on reading this entire review good grief reader person.
Great Metronome. I’ve been using this metronome daily for any time I practice. The design is sleek and modern, with an easily navigable interface. The addition of the tuner is an amazing bonus. The level of depth you can go into for time signatures, tempi, and division of the beat is also above standard; however I just wish there were a few more options on that regard. Otherwise, this app is well worth a purchase for a musician of any level.
Still My Favorite Metronome App. As a percussionist, I collect metronomes and metronome apps. There are some great ones out there and some not-so-great ones out there. I really like Frozen Ape’s, Tempo metronome the best for a no-nonsense, reliable, easy to use app that gets the job done exceptionally well. The simplicity of the app is brilliant, because it also has depth. Tempo 2 is more difficult to use, but may also have more “power”, but for most uses Tempo gets the job done exceptionally well. Every time I get a new metronome, I use it for awhile to see how I like it. So far, I keep coming back to Tempo. Also, Frozen Ape actually will occasionally send out updates to fix bugs or simplify a process. Great Job!
All-Around Good App!. Everything is pretty straight forward, and the app allows you to create set lists and make changes on the fly. There are plenty of options for using different sounds for the beats and accents and whatnot. In addition, it is easy to share the set lists between devices! Very useful for us at the church, enabling us to use whatever devices are available at the time. The only issue I’ve got with the app is that the interface makes almost no sense when trying to “save changes” to a song. You have to click the + symbol and then overwrite the current song. Once you figure it out, it’s not a problem; but it can definitely throw you off at first. Overall, I am very pleased with this app and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile metronome app!
Big improvement over mechanical metronome!. Very easy to use! You can change timing and pattern very quickly. Best feature is that the first beat of the measure has a slightly different tone, so you can figure out if you’re slipping or not. Or speeding up, which is what I often do. Also, the visual is good. Little dots, lighting up sequentially. It has really helped me to move toward a steadier tempo.
UI can be improved. Gets the job done as advertised, but 2 things would greatly improve the app’s interface 1. In basic/preset/setlist modes, tapping the big bpm number should open up a keyboard to type in the BPM, much faster to dial in than the current system. In setlist mode’s quick edit window, a separate tap button and typing option through a similar mechanic would be preferable. 2. In setlist mode, quick edit should also let you adjust time signature
Excellent!. This app is excellent. I just started playing drums a few months ago and this is perfect. I gave it 4 stars because there is a few things Frozen Ape could do to make it better. First: the timer can’t be started over once it is started. You have to wait for it to run out. Second: this isn’t really anything wrong with the app, it’s more that it would be nice to be able to do. It would be great if you could pick the background you want at the beginning and then, whatever ones you didn’t pick, you would have to purchase later. Overall, this is a great app for my purposes and I would definitely recommend to other musicians, especially drummers.
Sadly appears to be abandoned. I love this app and am using it all the time for drumming practice. There are so many nice features that can’t be found elsewhere. The UI for the set list is horribly clunky and it took me a while to figure out how to make changes to the settings (it IS described in the app support page). But this developer already abandoned an earlier version of this app and this version hasn’t been updated for a year. It’s a great app, but I’m scared about it being unsupported by one of the next iOS updates :-(
Rock Solid for Years. Been using this as our live click track for many years. Rock solid. Setlist functionality and wireless foot controller integration (AirTurn) is awesome. My only wish is that you could either upload your own sound set (the app provides , or that the "Digital" or "Electro" sound set would be closer to the Ableton Live stock metronome sound. They sound similar, but for some reason Ableton Live's metronome cuts through the mix better -- and is now more or less the standard click for live performance.
The perfect metronome app. This is the perfect app for working musicians, teachers and students. Easy to jump on board yet deep enough that I keep discovering features years after I first started using it. My current favorite feature is the Automator: start at a certain tempo and increase (or decrease) the tempo by a fixed amount every X minutes. A must for drum rudiments practice. My second favorite feature is the integration with iOS/iPadOS: (1) you can set it to disable the screen lock while in operation (2) you can start/stop operation by covering the ambient light detector (3) it works seamlessly with the system sound. This means you could be watching a video on your favorite streaming app or listen to a podcast while you practice.
Awesome metronome app. I’ve had this app for several months and really like it! It took a while to figure out the more creative things you can do with it, I wish there was a better tutorial. (Maybe there is, but I couldn’t find it). I use it a lot with the “tracking” feature. I’m a drummer, so if I’m working on rudiments I’ll set it up to track 20 measures. So I can play the rudiment for 20 measures, then the tracker starts over and I switch to the next rudiment. You can use the tracker for a specific period of time (like 2 minutes, etc). The playlist feature is cool, and you can make it automatically go to the next “song.” So you can create the song/time signature/tempo. Once you figure out the creative pieces of it, this is an awesome app! And I love that I bought the app for a few dollars. No ads and no ongoing monthly subscription costs!!
Best metronome app I've used. As a percussionist and former music teacher, I tried out every metronome app I could find on the App Store. This one is far and away the best. Gig mode alone is enough to put it above most. Customize meters, accent patterns, save setlists, tap tempo, etc. - it's the most full-featured metronome app out there. I also love that it has a watch app and that I can switch songs in a setlist. I also enjoy setting my phone on the floor near my kick pedal and switching songs with my foot using the proximity sensor. The only things I'd like to see change would be: 1. add .1 bpm increments; 2. allow Bluetooth syncing between devices so the whole band can listen to a synchronized click; 3. be able to have the click drop in and out in practice mode to help musicians practice internalizing the tempo.
Weird audio glitch (JBL CHARGE 5). I been using this app for a while before, but I got the JBL Charge 5 and ever since I been using this app, a weird popping sound happens every beat and nothing I have tried fixed this from even returning the speaker, as this is my second charge 5, thinking the speaker was the problem, but nothing has solved this issue so I think it is the app causing this. When using other apps like tonal energy, it doesn’t do this using the metronome, so if you guys can fix this that would be awesome. Thanks

It rocks. I use this every week for putting together sets and copying from my all list. Would like to have Internet backup of sets I could restore to my iPad or share lists with other tempo users. Also a feature to sort song list alphabetically would make it easier to find songs
Best metronome app out there.... ...with no exception, only problem is there’s a major delay in ticks whenever you switch the screen off.
Superb. The best metronome on the app store, hands down. A professional musician and lecturer, I use this as my primary practice tool and recommend it to every student. Versatile, customisable, and full of detail I have barely scratched the surface of. Worth every cent.
Functional and loud enough for rehearsals!. I've tried a few metronome apps and this one is my favourite. It offers a wide range of tempos, subdivisions and time signatures, plus several different sound options, some of which are loud enough to use in rehearsal with my quintet (fl, cl, vln, vc, pno)! Recommended.
Doesn’t work?. This app does not work. The tempo doesn’t play sound and hasn’t for years. The sound of the beep to keep the tempo is the whole point...I keep waiting for an update to fix this issue but nothing in years. The app has no link to help for support. These developers launched and got their money and abandoned their customers.
Must have. I've used this app for 7 years now and couldn't imagine using something else. The only thing I'd like changed is the 'Pro' clicks sound. The accented beat is a lower key to the rest of the bar. It takes adjusting to, especially for vocalists and other muso's who generally don't play to a click.
The best metronome app.... This is my favorite metronome app. But I think a well-welcomed addition would be a vocal count... I mean a vocal "one two three four five, one..." that counts the full bar (eg for 5/4). Would be very helpful for percussion players who use this for practicing (like I do). There's an extra star for when it happens...
It’s Great for music plz. Hi guys
Great metronome but still needs some tweaks. As a professional drummer this app is great for me to use while practicing and at gigs with the set list feature. This version seems to crash a bit when changing the set list around but if that gets fixed then I would give it five stars.
Perfect app. Love this app, use it in personal and professional contexts - cannot sing its praises enough
Perfect. Great app. Exactly what I need from a metronome app. Great tap tempo function, easy to type in tempos, can do different tune signatures and accents, works great as audio or just visual or both, can do playlists and a whole lot more. Highly recommended
It’s all there. This is very handy, easy to use app. Nice to have in my virtual toolkit.
10th birthday right around the corner - still the best iOS metronome!. Congratulations on a great product; longtime user - it’s the only metronome installed on any of my iDevices. Love your work, Jem
Tempo. I really love using tempo as a young aspiring musician its a top quality metronome
Clear visuals; easy navigation. I have been using tempo for some years now, and it’s one of two metronome apps I recommend to students. What I like about Tempo is the strongly visual layout. Being able to clearly see the subdivisions of the beat is a big help. I also like the ease of use, in terms of setting subdivisions, time signatures, etc.
Fabulous, my go to metronome.. Feature request. Please add split screen and cloud sync for set lists.
It will help you on you way to greatness. Unlike Slytherin this app WILL help you. Unless you’re Voldemort. Imagine Voldemort playing drums!! Reliable and helpful for newbies
Rlly good. W
Wonderful. Love the tap function. I can show my students where they're speeding up/slowing, then can set a speed to suit their ability, & can also split the beat into pulses. Great range of time signatures, however would like to see 17/8 time available. (Have to use another app for that one!) This is the one I use a LOT & RECOMMEND. A++++ Lynne Braithwaite
Good but could be a little more. I love the metronome features but it would be great to have notes displayed for each song such as song structure and key Everything else is great!
Best Metronome App!!. Allows me to play and teach with ease. Has all great functions for professionals or beginners
Best metronome app, period. Flawless app, use it religiously and have total faith in it! If I could suggest any improvements it might be the possibility of multimetres or mixing time signatures; and an option for varying bars with click on, off, off the beat etc for work on internal time keeping
PPLEASE HELP!!!. Hey guys just wanna say that this app is a lifesaver and I think I’m in love... don’t tell my wife 😉. It’s such a versatile app and it works wonders. I would just like to suggest adding the ability to set when the vocal count in begins. The count in feature is great but at the moment it begins as soon as I press play i think it would be cool if I was able to set how many bars the click will play for before the vocal count in comes in. I play a lot of church gigs where there needs to be seamless transitions between songs. I run the click track through our in-ear monitors and I start the click for the next song as we are crashing out the previous song so that everyone gets used to tempo for the next song. I then have to count in with my drum sticks (which is very in-seamless as everyone in the crowd hears it) so everyone in the band knows exactly when to start the song. I know a lot of us in the worship community would really appreciate this! And if you do make this option available ... PLEASE also provide the option of having the vocal count-in playing simultaneously with the click. This would really make transitions between songs seamless and we wouldn’t have to count in with my sticks (rendering the whole purpose of having in-ear monitors pointless.
A few problems. Overall, this app is great; and is by far the best on the marketplace - but there are a few things I'd like to see: A "visual metronome" option - this would be easy to add, seing as the "flash on first beat" is already a feature. Perhaps a red flash for the first, and blue flash for the remainder of the bar. A clean up of the set list function - this is an ingenous addition, however I'd like to see it a little easier to use (and perhaps add an "overall time" and "break" option; meaning the metronome will play through = [song 1 for 3:30] (10 second break) [song 2 for 4:18] e.t.c...)
Great app. A very useful app that helps you to learn and practice instruments with a metronome.
Long time user.. Used it for 4+ years.; weddings, church, session work, gigs. Never had an issue - not once. Unless something dramatically changes for the worse in the app. I see myself using it for another 4+ years.
Split View. Extremely useful app. Which I have been using for quite some time now. However, a little bit annoying that Split View for the app is not supported, noting a lot of drummers and musicians require sheet music on display whilst playing. It would be a 5/5 if this was to be supported!
Update please. Keeps crashing! Won’t open! Need metronome! Fix this please!
Best click track for performance and personal use. I use this for stage performance. It has everything to address your performing and practising needs. Programmable set lists and songs. Able to run stereo, hard left or hard right. I found this useful as I run tracks (right) and click (left) out of sound cue (a separate app). So with songs that have no backing tracks, I am able to switch apps and start click without coming out on FOH. This saves an extra DI and channel on stage & mixing desk. Really user friendly and has really good simple layout like an actual click machine. Highly recommend this. It's the best one out there! Happy drummer, Tjin
Great. Great
Star rate top🥰😍🥰😍. Lovely
Tempo. I love using this app. In conjunction with you tube to assist me in choosing the desirable speed it has has really helped me to develop a sense of rhythm.
Please update for split screen. Great app, simple to use and great for sharing set lists amongst different drummers. But...... when will you update to support split screen view on iPad??
Great UI and regular updates. Absolutely no complaints about this app. Works flawlessly on my iPhone XR. Hats off to the developers - keep up the great work!
10/10 metronome app. I don't ever normally bother reviewing apps but I think this one deserves it. I've been through a fair few metronome apps and this is definitely the best. Has everything you need and stuff I wouldn't have even thought of.
Hehehe. Good. Hehehe Hehehe
Great app. Misguided update. This is my favourite metronome app. Best features and sounds. But the latest update has completely ruined tap tempo, it doesn't click in time with your taps (rendering the whole thing useless) and sharing space with other confusing ways of selecting tempos. Please fix asap, 'cos for me tap tempo is everything
The Perfect Tempo Assistant. I am gobsmacked at how much this has assisted my musicianship. Metronome features are all there, easy one touch selection. The training area customizing playback is where this app shines. I use this all the time 😄😄
Perfect for me. I love this app. It does more things than I ever thought I would want in a metronome! Very recommended. Thank you.
James. Excellent Tempo app! Love that it has all the time signatures you need!
Essential. Can’t live without it
Excellent overall. Tempo is my go-to metronome app and has been extremely useful and reliable in my experience. Overall the user interface is great - I really love the tempo dial and the fact that you can change groupings and beat emphasis. However one major flaw is in the setlists - very confusing layout and hence I've been avoiding the function. Users will be able to get so much more out of it if the setlist is more accessible so please make it less clumsy to use!
First app. This was the first app I ever bought, unrecognizable now from that iPhone 3 version. It’s the best. I use it every other day.
Does what it should. Must be the fourth or fifth metronome app I’ve tried and finally found this one I’m happy with. It’s simple but will handle more complicated time signatures if needed. Intuitive to use and last but not least, a natural and pleasant sounding tick, not an awful computer beep.
Great customisation options. This is no standard metronome. I was able to easily adapt it to be used for practising South Indian Classical music (Carnatic music) rhythmic cycles or talas. This was done by changing the sound to 'hand clap' and specifying which bests of the cycle to be emphasised. I could even save different talas as presets.
Missing something. I love this app but it's missing one function. I'd like to be able to cue up seemless song/tempo changes. At the moment you tap the next song button and if you don't do it in perfect time then the click hiccups and is off-putting for everyone with the click in their ears.
Surely one of the better digital metronomes. Hard to fault, and if anything, some more theme options and sounds. That said, the built-in options will satisfy most people. Keep up your fine work.
It's Fully Featured. If you're after a metronome app this is the one to get
Fantastic!. No glitches, easy, simply useful. Been using it for a couple of years now.
For $2 this is an amazing app, no doubt real metronomes will be outdated in no time. Having used real metronomes, expensive ones, this app does all that and more. Very cool and I wish I could show my old buddy who loved his real one!

Solid and powerful.. Nice, big buttons and displays make this great tool easy to use on my iPad. I'm sure I've only scratched the surface of what Tempo can do, but I love it for my current needs and look forward to discovering everything else.
💡. Simplement génial !
Used weekly. As a musician and band director I use this app often. Love the option of changing time signatures!
Love the functionality. Countdown timer function is great. Quickly adjustable, with a lot of time signatures.
Tempo. Great app. Love it.
Best metronome!!. With a Bluetooth speaker nothing beats this!
Character Voice Count.. I use this app and specifically ‘voice count’ everyday with my students. They are all required to buy the full version for lessons. It’s never a problem. Drum students work amazingly well with a metronome when a ‘voice’ is giving the count. (One less thing to think about while coordinating your limbs!) It would be incredible to have a choice of voice with this app to change it up a little in lessons. At the very least, 3 or 4 choices. I know having character voice count may be unreasonable, but could you imagine having Morgan Freeman or Catherine Zeta Jones as your metronome!? I’d settle for Chewbacca, maybe Kermit the Frog! 😂 Students would love love love it!
Best metronome app. I use it all the time. It's stable, and set lists work great. Really glad they added the 'sort alphabetically' feature.
The best. The best
No polyrythm. Where is polyrythm like in tempo advance ?
Love love love. I use this all the time
Temp. I love temp
The best click out there. I use it live all of the time. It’s never failed me.
I love this one!. Great app. Great tool. More musicians need this in their lives.
Crashing. Every time I try to send a set list via email or text the app crashes immediately without fail and I lose any new lists I have created. This app has not been updated for a while. Is it not being supported anymore ?
Excellent. Easy to use and set the tempo. I use it for all of my musical workouts. As a pro musician, this is the best I have found.
Nice, solid, well thought out App!. I tested the App vs my wife's metronome at rapid tempos and did not detect any deviation in tempo. The App has many features that my wife's electronic metronome does not - so I'm happy with my 99 cent investment! I like the user interface and the attention to little details like: - holding the up or down buttons causes the tempo to increase or decrease by 10's vs taps which increment or decrement by 1 - you can hold down on the time signatures and get a selection of the less common time signatures (like 5/4). - you can change which beats get emphasis (eg. in 5/4 it could be beat 1 and 3) Suggestions to make a solid app even nicer (or maybe offer as Tempo Plus!): - have an option to flash the screen (i.e. have it go bright) on beat 1 (so you can "lock in" like you can with a conductor's downbeat using just peripheral vision). - many metronomes have an A440 button which you can use for tuning. The problem with this is that instruments like the Trombone have a different note (B Flat) as the open position. My suggestion: have a screen with a piano style keyboard. You could click on the key to play and sustain that note. Clicking on a rest icon would stop the playback. This would also be helpful when you are trying to verify that you are playing the right note. (With brass instruments it is easy to mis-pitch the higher notes). - have a screen with the Italian tempo markings translated into Beats per Minute ranges - eg. Presto = 168 to 200.
Dry reliable. Thanks
Best met on the App Store. Great metronome, but absolutely drains my battery when using it. Mainly because of screen time and audio output through the speakers. It’s probably more an Apple issue then Frozen Ape.
Practical tool. Use it with 16th notes at 25 bpm with last two notes silent to practice holding tempo. Helps detect when I’m slowing or speeding up. Will I land on the “one?”...
Best metronome app. Quite honestly the best metronome app I’ve ever come across. The automation is a game changer! I make all my students get it
Excellent. Everything I need in a metronome.
The beat. A ok it great but it block tone or just hi hat
Great until now. Accent first note won’t switch off
Amazing. I can't live without it.
Great Little App!!!!. I use this app in my daily practise and because it is an app I take it wherever I go. Timing and rhythm are easy to access instantly. The Set List feature allows me to go to my songs and get right to them without having to remember the tempo. Where was this when I was a teenager practising 😎
Pouvoir annoter. Excellente application. Ce serait vraiment bien de pouvoir ajouter des notrs sous là kek part pour chaque chanson. Genre, shuffle avec rodsticks
Must have for bassists. Fantastic app all around. Use it practicing and performing!!!
Tempo. Great improvements
New version is garbage, rollback please. New version has issues with crashes when editing tempo. Moving around songs in setlist sounds cause all sorts of glitches, including songs randomly moving around, blank spaces, songs getting deleted, and most importantly, your changes don't save!
Simple to use. This is a simple to use app, and it goes everywhere with me on my iPad.
Split View not supported. I don’t need the metronome to take up the entire iPad screen
Tempo is very versatile. I had not drummed for 18 years so when I restarted working with a band I remembering the tempo for songs I was not familiar with I had trouble nailing the tempo. This is when I discovered Tempo app. I listed the tunes in set order & this help me substantially. I no longer need it for rehearsals or live situation so now I use it for practicing the 40 rudiments & excercises as well as to improve my reading skill. I list all of these practice routines including the BPM for each. As I improve I increase the tempo & this has encouraged me to keep improving and is much more efficient to keep track of my current BPMs for all my practicing. Thanks to Tempo for helping accelerate my skills as a drummer.
Every pro and educator needs this.. Tempo is a great tool for practice, teaching, and live performance. I love the set list feature. Best metronome app ever.
Love this app!. Very simple to use. Are use it every day. It’s an essential part of my practice
Excellent featured metronome!. Great for the basics or storing rhythms. A well thought out and friendly interface.
Excellent. Great features! I use this all the time for drumming in church. Kudos to the developer for a terrific app.
Love this app!. Great metronome app. The setlists are easy to create and manage; it does everything I need.
Great metronome app!. This is my go-to metronome. It's very simple to use, the click sounds good (and there are options for different sounds) and it is easy to change tempos and time signatures quickly. What I like the most is the fact that while there are many options it is straightforward to use.
Missing something. Please make it possible to rearrange and reorder songs in set lists. Seems like a huge oversight in an otherwise great app metronome.
Worth paying for. It took me awhile to find this app. I’m pleased with the flexibility the options give me. I’ve recommended this app to my instructor for other students of music.
Tempo review. Tempo is easy to use and understand especially if you are just a beginner. Has a lot of good options to muck around with. Would like to see some more sound options in the future. Over a decent app.
Great app. Lots of great features. I can program in my click tracks for my live set with ease.
the best. simply the easiest and more versatile metronome app on the app store
Unuseable. The new update cuts and restarts the metronome out of time every 30-45 seconds. I'm discovering this in the middle of the set and I'm super disappointed. New features shouldn't come at the expense of crippling the most important function.
Very usable!. Easy, super functional, covers rehearsals through pro gigs! Well done!
Easily the best metronome app.. So many features, layouts and sounds, but most importantly it’s solid and very easy to use. It handles odd time signatures and best of all, it has a bar/clock counter and limiter option, along with a trainer, all of which are essential for working through George Stone’s “Stick Control” and other rudimentary exercise books. No other metronome app. has what this one does.
Really good!. I use this app every day for my practice but am suddenly frustrated because ever since the new update whenever I open the app I see the display for a mere second before the screen goes black. I've tried restarting my phone and all that but it still doesn't work. Please Fix ASAP!
Great app!. If it could use the tap fonction on the Apple Watch, this would be the best app, hands down.
Good app but..... Great app but being able to reorder the songs would be nice. It is listed in the setlist options but is greyed. Perhaps the pro version allows this but I’ve seen this listed in any tutorials

iPhone app is great! iPad version is a pain!. Using this on my iPhone is a great experience. But the stupid wheel to quickly change the tempo on the iPad version is horrible! It’s so inaccurate and difficult to use. I can usually get within about 10-15 bbm with the wheel but then I have to use the arrows to get the actual tempo I want. If I keep trying to use the wheel to get the right tempo it either won’t change the tempo when spinning it or it will go way past the number I want.
6/8 not great. where is 6/8? 👀. I like this app. It's pretty resourceful with handling tempos. It's got variety and complexity of you need it. My only gripe comes in when I use 6/8 meter. It doesn't give a different sound for beat 4. Attending music lessons in my past have used that particular method. So stating a different way ... The beats 1 & 4 sound strong with 1 tone. Beats 2,3,5 & 6 sound a completely different tone. I know it's quirky but it's comfortable. Please fix
Improvement ideas. Love this app. I have it on an iPhone 6s, an iPad (2017 not sure of the number) and an Apple Watch series 2. I found that adjusting to the latest iPhone version took a little bit, there are some things that worked fine and now are simply different. I would love to see the app work with the haptics on the Apple Watch optionally. That would take Tempo to the next level.
Tempo. Wish I had something like this years ago. Never took band in school, wish I had. The last few years with this has helped me improve. Highly recommend it to beginners and above
Best metronome app. This is the best metronome app out there. As a drum teacher, I’ve tried most of them, and this one is well worth whatever few dollars they ask for it. Much more versatile and reliable than the free options.
Simple and easy to use. Rehearsing using ear buds and the click and a set list is a great way to improve your time and get ready for the studio. I have used it on stage for the count off and was able to set up a perfect groove from the start. Fantastic tool
Flexible, reliable, useful. The title says it all. I don’t use one feature that might be useful for professional groups — the possibility of assigning a name to a particular selection of time signature and tempo, thereby having one tap selection of tempo among a group of tempos to be used in a single performance.
App works great. I use Tempo whenever I practice. It’s robust enough to offer the variety of settings I need but simple enough to quickly switch from one cadence to another. Sound quality is good and it runs smooth on my iPhone 6.
No haptics or sound with Apple Watch. Great looking app and I love the setlist option. Says it works with Apple Watch and I assumed that meant I could use the watch as my metronome with haptics but the watch only works as a controller for the phone so what’s the point-just use the phone lol! To paraphrase another review; 1000 amazing functions but no real Apple Watch functionality? Huh? :0
Smooth. I teach drum lessons and have referred this to many students. Quick and easy adjustments of time signature and accent/non-accent rhythmic figures makes this a must. I have not done too much with the polyrhythmic section but the little that I have checked out it really a major bonus. This app is highly recommended..
Best Metronome for Live Playing Situations. I’ve been using Tempo for live concerts for 5 yrs. It’s never crashed on me. The iPad version is perfect for me because I play drums and run Tempo. The buttons are nice and big. Also, I love the ability to create several set lists at once. This makes batch processing tempos for set lists a breeze.
Best app you can buy!!!. Been using it for a year now and it is simply the best I’ve found for so little money. You can choose the voice and the counts or just clicks or beeps and the break downs of tempos are simple and easy to adjust. Use it on laptop or iPhone/iPad and it works just as well. You can’t go wrong.
Best metronome app but could use some more click sounds.. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s my favorite metronome. Would be nice to get some additional organic/acoustic click sounds though, or the ability to customize the sounds (like lowering the pitch of the woodblock etc).
Great app for multiple reasons. This metronome works well as a standard metronome; it has many common features for practicing. I also use it for my gigs that require accurate tempi; you can store multiple presets within the app. The user interface is also very appealing.
More than Worth it. I wanted a metronome that would be useful for a variety of styles and time signatures. I also wanted more drum-like sounds. I can’t believe how packed this app is for the money. If you’re a musician that takes practice seriously, but it.
So good!. This app is amazing - I use it multiple times weekly! It's our bands click track and I save all our songs to a master set list then drop them in as needed to other set lists for different services or events. Super customizable. Simple - or complex if you need it to be!
More than a simple metronome. The ability to apply a different sound, or no sound, to each beat allows you to alter the stress of the rhythm. For instance, setting a swing 4/4 with emphasis on the 2d &4th beats, 3d beat silent, 1st silent too or with a different sound from 2 & 4, just to keep on track.
Absolutely the Best. This app is so flexible and helpful for learning timing and rhythm. It includes all the time signatures I have ever used. The feature set is wide and deep, yet easy to use. I recommend Tempo without reservation. ***** caveat ***** As long as they don’t move to a subscription model as so many apps have. I don’t recommend or use “rental” software.
Still my favorite metronome app.. Cats, you're the best. Use professionally, and with students for the last decade, and you've been helping bring smiles to people, and mee off the unemployment line for quite some time. Pretty, pretty, pretty please — if a DB-66 soundFont feel off a truck and *cough Dr. Beat became integrated., you'd be my new best friend. #LoveU #ThankYou
Love my Tempo app. After a lifetime of metronomes, this one is my favorite and last. I need look no further. I have not used all of the options, but I am looking forward to using them in the future. Thank You,
Tap needs tweaking. Great app overall, but there are a few bugs. One is the tap doesn’t really seem to work anymore (though in previous versions it did), and another is it sometimes freezes in rapid tempo advance when your trying to advance by 10 (by holding the tempo up button down) Otherwise, I use this app a lot!
Perfect. Nothing beats this app in terms of price-to-quality ratio. Solid, reliable, versatile, and affordable. Simple enough for beginners and hobbyists but plenty of options for more advanced users. As a professional musician, composer, educator, and recording engineer, I recommend this app to literally everyone. If I had more than two thumbs they’d still all be way up.
Love this app, but currently bugging. Love Tempo. With iOS 11 on my iPhone 6, however, it’s been pausing and getting off-beat pretty constantly (once every other song or so). Could certainly be my phone, but hoping an update will fix the bug cause I love this app!
PLEASE FIX RUNAWAY TEMPO. This app is amazing, but one major bug that I deal with (and it looks like others do as well) is when you press and hold the + button, the tempo will continue to increase or decrease when you let go. This problem is extremely annoying and kills any momentum you may have while practicing.
Well designed. You can tell that the developers use this app themselves, or at least work very closely with users. It’s easy to do the sorts of things you need to do all the time, like changing the beat or increasing the tempo or changing the accents on the beats. It’s intuitive to use and does everything I would want a metronome to do.
More options for the setlists. I’ll start by saying, I love this app!! Im a drummer and I use it all the time, practice and gigs. MY ONLY GRIPE: there is no option for setlists to be alphabetical order. We never play the same setlist so it would be nice to load songs alphabetically just to find them faster. Other than that, it’s great and I love it.
Background Activity Kills the Battery. I like this app. But it gets three stars simply because its background activity bleeds the battery unnecessarily, even when the app is closed. Two hours after a full phone charge, the battery drained by 12%. The background activity of this app was responsible for 72% of that drain off the battery. That’s simply unacceptable and unnecessary.
Great app.. I get the runaway tempo thing when holding the button. However you can drag the number left or right for better control although it isn’t obvious that this is possible. Maybe adding marks below the number similar to ruler marking would give a subtle hint.
Conductor’s Best Friend. I conduct the music in our church and have to transition from jubilant opening hymns to slower and very sacred sacrament hymns to something more moderate as a closing hymn. I use this ap to make certain that I am right on tempo from the first phrase of each him. I’ve used it for years and it has never failed me.
Not right. I go to the set list module, it has the default “My Setlist”. The plus sign adds a song to it. It doesn’t look like the help file’s image, no email link. I must be on the wrong page. But I can’t figure out how to get to the Setlist page to create a new Setlist. Poor directions. Not intuitive. Also if I use this app at a gig I doubt I’ll be able to read the tiny font size from across the drum kit. I need to see the title of the song, the singer likes to mix up the Setlist order. When will a coder make a useable metronome?
Solid App. Bought this app years ago for live gigs. Very useful app. Even has a set list option so that you can put a set list in it with the corresponding tempos. Also has an incorporated tuning fork in the app which is good for those last minute “tune ups” should you need it.
Tap Feature. I like the App the one feature that could be improved is the Tap feature which is used to try and identify the tempo of a song or beat. It is a little difficult. A possible improvement would be if there was a feature that could hear 2-3 bars and then just move to that tempo the way the song identifying app heard a song and named it for you.
Best metronome app. This is my favorite of the 10 or so metronomes I have tried. The strong, low, beefy tone is much easier to hear while playing along than with other apps. I love being able to save and name my different patterns. A wish list for future releases might be for a broader choice of different sound samples.
gneiss. I don’t know what all this band stuff is for but I’m a professional classical cellist and this is my metronome. Not my backup in case I forget my metronome; this IS my metronome. It clicks and has the option to turn the dorky beat emphasis off. That’s all you need. Also, nice move asking for reviews while people are using the metronome—good opportunity to procrastinate practicing 👍🏻
The very best cell phone metronome app. It is very easy to set it for different note values and speeds when playing a variety of songs and the click is pleasing. The tone to designate the first beat also helps one keep track of where one is in the measure. This is very well designed.
Good but missing one thing. I wish this metronome app could make a way to have .5’s. I play a song that is 72.5 exactly but I have no way of using the click because 72 isn’t fast enough and 73 is too fast. If you can add that feature it would be the perfect metronome app.
Best metronome app out there. I love this app and use it on every gig. One suggestion that I thought would be useful, is if you could add notes/reminders to each song that would show up in gig-mode. I would find that extremely helpful. That's a feature in the set list maker app that I love. But besides that, keep up the great work!
Best metronome ever. I use it daily and recommend it to all of my students. What better than to have a comprehensive metronome and tuner within reach at all times. Perfect for musicians at all levels. Easy to use and customize to your needs.
Would like to share setlists across devices. I've been using this app consistently for four years and love it! One wish - to share between devices via iCloud so I don't have to email to myself!
The best. I used to play pro. This is still the best. But way more options, way more control, heck you can choose from four different app pictures. Talk about customizing. I don't know why I suddenly decided to rate this after using it for YEARS. But … I guess I just felt it was needed, so the devs know they are doing a great job. Found one weird coding bug where one song kept reverting to having an accent mark, but renaming the track by adding a single punctuation mark in the title fixed the issue. Could be OS based issue, who knows. It’s fixed and it was easy (incase anyone else ever runs into that issue lol).
Excellent tool. Accurate, good sounds, always handy. I’ve gone through several “real” metronomes over the years, and this is better. One example of modern technology actually improving our lives.
The best metronome app available. I use a metronome every day, and this app is super easy to use and has all the features I need for about 98% of what I do. I have this company’s more complex metronome app, Tempo Advance, but this is my ‘go to’ for just about everything.
Past due for an update.. I love this app and I’ve been using it for years. however, it hasn’t been updated in over a year and still doesn’t support split view or slide over on iPad; you can only use it in full screen. I feel that this is a fundamental feature for this kind of app, and I am frustrated daily that I can’t use the app in the most obvious way. I’m now (sadly!) looking for a new app.
Difficult to edit tempos after they are in set list. It is very difficult to figure out how to edit tempos once they are in a set list. The fact that you have to select a song, select new song, then overwrite it to change a tempo is not intuitive. It would be much better if you could simply select a song, press edit and change the tempo. Because of this, the app is very difficult to use
Flat out great. I’ve used Tempo for years, and it only keeps getting better. More and more features get added - things I didn’t even think I wanted but are really useful! And the most important part, the metronome, works flawlessly. I’ve never had a complaint!
Buy it. I have used it every day for teaching, practicing, tuning, etc...for many years now. I recommend it to everyone. My students all use it. The Automator is a game changer. Set it to increase 1 bpm every 4 or 8 bars and just ride it as high as you can doing the same exercise! So fun and so helpful! Thanks frozen ape!
Very good. I use this metronome basically every day- clear interface, the step increase function is very intuitive and helpful, and the sounds are clear without being intrusive.
A broken version of the brilliant iPhone app. I am a big fan of Tempo for iPhone, but the iPad app is an absolute pain to use. - I am unable to update a song in my setlists, so if I want to tweak something, I have to delete the song and add a new one - The app doesn’t support split view, meaning I can’t show my notes or sheet music and Tempo at the same time - I am unable to change the tempo by panning my finger on the BPM value, and the slider does not change the volume smoothly - Setlists don’t sync between devices via iCloud, which isn’t a game changer, but it seems like a no-brainer feature to support The basic functionality of this app is great, so if all you need is a metronome, you will love Tempo. But if you are planning to use this for setlists or in tandem with another app, look elsewhere. Frozen Ape, I believe in this app but find myself frustrated each time I practice. Please work on a fix for your iPad app.
Recommended by my guitar teacher. I’ve tried several metronome programs. This was the one my instructor used and I like it. The voice counting helped me; and I like being able to keep a set list
