Stereo setting drops out. I notice that the stereo setting drops off after a few minutes. It helps to leave the app open with my phone unlocked, but it still reverts to mono/party mode eventually. When I reopen the app, it takes a few seconds to a few minutes to find the speakers again, even though it’s still playing. Terrible experience- why have stereo mode if it only works for a few minutes at a time? And why does the connection have such a short memory?

Pleasantly Surprised. I had a speaker from another company. The battery died and wouldn't recharge. I bought this JBL on a whim and I like the tone and it is loud enough for my needs... its pretty loud for such a small package. At first use I did not like the tone and was sure I made a mistake in purchasing it until I cut out the MIDS. It sounds just right without the mids. I max the bass and treble and it sounds righteous. So far so good. I'll see what the future holds...

Functional app.. This is a very streamlined app but for the most part does what you need it to do. I gave it 4 stars because I am using it with the boombox 3 and it’s EQ is only 3 band. For the price of the boombox 3 JBL should have at least a 5 band EQ and the ability to save presets. Tribit has this on there stormbox and i think it is a 9 band EQ. EQ and volume is smooth, something that the JBL Pro Audio app LACKS terribly. Although this has a premium feel there are other companies out there that have apps that are more functional like Tribit. I prefer the JBL boombox over the Tribit stormbox but the app is better on the Tribit. The sound of the Stormbox is not to far behind the boombox 3 and if money’s a factor people will pick the Tribit. Just something for JBL to think about when the next update their app and I need to pay attention to all the hungry companies out there that are at the hills so they realize they need to be on top of things because they’re going to lose business to other companies if they do not.

Sound cutting out resolved!!!. After reading through the reviews, there is a guy down the thread that explained how JBL support helped correct the issue. Don’t follow the on-screen instructions completely. Only connect a single speaker via Bluetooth to your device. Then use the app to link up other speakers via partyboost (connect feature). Once they are finished linking together via the connect app (REMEMBER ONLY ONE SPEAKER IS TO BE CONNECTED THROUGH BLUETOOTH), the sound issues will disappear. I have had nothing except for flawless crystal clear sound while streaming ever since! Thank you to that guy for posting the solution. I was going insane and was furious before that. Good luck whoever takes the time to read this.

Bug after IOS 16 update. The app was working fine until I updated my iPhone to iOS 16. It’s no longer picking up my xtreme 3 in the app. I’ve tried restarting the phone/speaker, reinstalling the app and forgetting the speaker. It’s just not recognizing the speaker anymore. Also, I’ve looked up online that there is a new update for the xtreme 3 with EQ settings, I have yet to see the update. It says speaker is already up to date. The new firmware should be 0.1.8.8. I hope this can be fixed soon!

JBL Portable App. The Portable app is a joke. You cant adjust the equalizer when there is more than one speaker connected. In stereo mode you can’t adjust the balance or play one speaker at a time to determine left or right. Or again using the equalizer is unavailable. You can’t check battery life on both speakers. It just shows the life on the main speaker. No way to read the slave speaker battery life except on the speaker itself. This app is pretty much useless. I have two Charge 5 speakers that I use. Speakers sound great but the app is something to be desired. 👎

UNABLE TO CONNECT TO SPEAKER. Everytime I try to connect my speakers to the app, whether they are new or my usual speakers, it always loads and loads and never takes me to the configuaration page. Instead of seeing the battery indicator and even the equalizer option, and others, it seems that it doesn't detect any speaker. After 20 seconds of waiting, it gives this prompt saying: "GO TO YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS, TAP (name of speaker) FROM, THE DEVICE LIST, THEN COME BACK TO THE JBL PORTABLE APP". I have tried this several times. I even restarted, reconnected, and even have RESET my speakers, even my phone, but they never worked. How are we able to see the battery level, the partyboost option, or even the equalizer and stuff like before? JBL, what can we do with this? Thank You.

Still some flaws. I have been using the latest version of this app for 2 weeks, for several hours at a time. The speakers haven’t cut out once, but the sound will sometimes fade out then come back in. I use the app with 2 JBL Flip 5s. The previous version of this app did not work as the software for the features would regularly crash, making the app essentially useless. This software version doesn’t crash, but still has an issue of sound fading out, then back in. A major improvement in the software of the app, but it still has a flaw. JBL makes great sounding speakers. JBL improves the sound of their speakers over time. If the app were solid, then more people would be enthusiastic about connecting their speakers together for a party.

Problem. I’ve tried every way possible to report a problem and it’s messing up because apple assumes I want a refund on a free app. Not the case at all lol I love your products and have had several, two that I use daily. However these two devices won’t connect to their respective apps. My Endurance Peak 2 headphones won’t connect to the headphone application you guys have and my Flip 3 won’t connect to this app either. What’s up with that.?

will not stay in stereo. I bought two JBL Charge 4's to pair in stereo. While it's simple enough to pair the speakers in stereo, they will not stay in stereo. Anytime I pause the music, or the music is interupted by a notification, the stereo pairing is stopped and it goes back to party mode. This is annoying. Additionally, I have a couple of JBL Flips, and if I'm running all four speakers in party mode, one or more of the speakers often intermittently lose connection. This happens even if all four speakers are in the same room and all are close to the phone. This is such a bummer because running the speakers sound so great when the app works, which unfortunately is infrequent.

Please Update, simply nonfunctional. This app was originally very useful and I had rarely had problems. Today, its hit or miss connecting my xtreme. When it does rarely connect, I get no options to do anything: just a picture of the speaker and a battery bar that doesn't move from 100%. It wasn’t like this before. Bose’s app has none of these problems amd has so much more functionality than connecting multiple speakers (which is such a pain with the app) including seeing and editing a list of connected devices, changing speaker settings, seeing the current firmware etc. Please fix these apparently very very common bugs in the app. It would also be nice if more functionality was added. It’s good that one app supports all/most speakers but it means nothing if you can’t even use the app. Tldr: app doesnt connect, no options to do anything when it rarely does connect, maybe add more functions.

Broken app ☹️. It’s unbelievable! The lack of ethics about consumers + product of the people behind this app. I don’t want to attack them or be an AH to them…. But geeez this used to be a great application until they started to mess with it. First their JBL speakers aren’t cheap and they work decently judging from my own experience some might have errors like any wireless device, but I have to say it software is very important for any device to at least work… when developers/engineers don’t keep or try to better their software things start falling apart unfortunately just like this. I feel very disappointed that they have broken the app to a point that isn’t even connecting to do the basic things! Hope that they pay attention to the people who buy JBL and start working on this app.

App & Party Boost Feature Issues!. I have a couple of JBL portable speakers and haven’t had much trouble previously with the app and partyboost (both on the app and using the button). First, I turn the speaker on then open the app and my phone recognizes the speaker and connects also making the connection sound but for some reason the app takes soooo long to connect to it and sometimes it says that it could locate anything?! —This definitely needs to get looked at and fixed asap, please & thank you! 🙏🏽 Second, partyboost is acting up. Both speakers will connect when I use the partyboost button on each speaker but I go ahead to play some music and shortly after a few minutes or sooner they start to cut out or disconnect from each other. Once they act up I can’t pause my music nor control the volume or anything until I reset them by turning them off then back on. Not sure if this happens more on higher volume but that usually when I’ll experience it for sure over 60% volume or higher. —Please take a look at this issue and fix asap, thank you. 🙏🏽

Awesome portable Bluetooth speaker. This little speaker rocks! The noise level and clarity is amazing! This is louder and sounds better than my buddies $350 BOSE speaker. And it’s virtually indestructible: water, sand, drops, all are protected from. Dropped it in the pool, and it really does float too! Great for parties and beach days, and the sound quality is what I would expect from a great company like JBL. Very happy w/ my purchase, and will possibly get another Flip 5 just for the dual speaker option. Coolest speaker in the game.

Use it only for firmware updates. It’s free and it gets you the latest firmware, which is basically the bare minimum you should expect from a device support app. It will not improve your experience with your speakers. I’ve tried with multiple set ups to manage stereo and party mode using the app, and it consistently causes one or more connected devices to cut out or distorts the audio. Save yourself the hassle and frustration- download it when you get your JBL speaker, update firmware, then delete it until you want to check for firmware updates again. JBL and HK should be ashamed to have their brands associated with the app, and it’s ridiculous to claim that it enables you to do anything other than firmware updates.

I wish this worked for stereo playback. I bought my first Flip 5 and absolutely LOVE it, so I bought a second because the literature said that the two could be paired for stereo playback. I was so excited to get the second today, pair them both, following the instructions provided. Both paired ans I sat down with one on each side, excited for the stereo experience. BTW, prior to this , I updated the firmware for both speakers, as advised by the app. Went to play and enjoyed maybe three seconds of stereo playback followed by one speaker going off, then the other, then both, then both back on, lather, since repeat. I hoped it would settle and get better but it didn’t. So stereo playback doesn’t work and it was the whole point of buying a second speaker. Please fix this so I can update my review because if this were to work as advertised, I’d be a very happy customer and would change this review to 100% positive.

It’s a great app! Don’t get me wrong!. It’s a great app! Don’t get me wrong! But whenever I go to the app to change my equalizer settings on my JBL flip 6 it has me disconnect and forget my device and then reconnect it just so I can access the app and I feel like you guys need to fix something in your apps where we don’t have to do this every time. I shouldn’t have to go through all those extra steps just to change a setting on my speaker when the entire time of had this app and speaker it has not messed up for me like once up until recently.

WTH??. Love the sound, portability and fun in the water. Only hiccup is when connecting the 2 Charge 5s. It’s a crapshoot as to which method will work. First - press pwr then when Bluetooth blinks on the speaker you have seconds to connect from phone. Then open JBL app and wait for the connect the 2nd spkr and choose stereo…wait for it, wait for it, wait for it…. 80% of the time it connects. The other 20% I have to turn both speakers off and restart the JBL app and try again. I have never been able to connect both speakers using the button on top of the speaker. Yes I have the latest updates.

The App is a Useless insult to a great product. I love my new JBL Flip 5. It works very well, has powerful sound, great battery life, among other things. What I can’t get around is how little Can be done with the app. After downloading it, I had to unpair my speaker and reconnect it just for the app to find my device. After reconnecting, I could do nothing with the app. I downloaded it thinking I would be able to adjust the speaker sound with an equalizer but there were no adjusters to toggle. The only thing I can do with the app is update my firmware when there’s a new patch or use PartyBoost to connect to other speakers, which I don’t have.

Does not work with my new iPad 9th generation. I tried connecting the app to the speaker (I have a JBL Charge4) and followed all suggested instructions presented to me as I could not connect it. So I give it only one star. Any app that doesn’t work on my iPad deserves no stars at all. Why give good rating to a product I can’t use? I wish I could connect it because I had this speaker long time before and worked pretty good on my iPad then I lost the speaker and uninstalled the app. I got the speaker again by buying a new one and now the app doesn’t connect to the speaker. So some update you did that messed up that for me.

Works great for party boosting Flip 5 if done right!. Initially, I experienced an issue reported by others with two Flip 5s. When trying to pair, there was constant static/disconnect rendering them unusable. JBL responded that only one speaker can be connected to your phone’s Bluetooth and the other connects through the app to the other speaker. I can listen with party boost or stereo modes easily. The one issue is that once I set up which mode I want, I cannot open the app and easily change between the modes. It wants you to reconnect the speakers, essentially start over. However, overall an easy way to party boost/stereo your speakers.

Very big sounding speaker!. This speaker is very impressive in the size of the sound it gives out. I think it shows its depth, when it is task with outdoor duties. The bass that it gives out is convincing and believable, The mids and highs are balanced. You can adjust the sound further by getting the JBL app which provides an eq feature. The price is not bad for what it does. It’s build quality is well designed and practical. It also has very good battery life for long listening sessions. Bluetooth connectivity only, waterproof and various colors selection makes this a very good buy for anyone looking for a great sounding portable speaker.

They should stick to analog speakers. Charge 4 speakers are acoustically good. The JBL Connect+ app is absolute rubbish. If you were hoping for a nice stereo experience with two identical charge 4 speakers, so sorry. Who ever developed the iphone app for JBL ought to be shamed. The app will take minutes, minutes! to reflect any changes you make. Pairing in stereo is an effort so frustrating you just give up and listen to your music in flat monophonic. Terrible interpretation and execution of the Bluetooth standard. Drop outs, mad static, and if you do get them to pair in stereo, on the next song they revert to mono AGAIN. Try better JBL.

Best small speaker ever made. I got jbl charge 5 I got flip 5 so I had to get the flip 6 with built in tweeter… these speakers sound great got great bass, highs!!! I have anker sound core got Marshall emberton , Sonos roam, Bose soundlink. Hands down them jbl speakers murdering all thee other ones hands down! I don’t have a Sponsor so I buy all my speakers with my own money, so if you want the best sound loudest speakers out there jbl is king

At least you have something. The JBL app is… well it’s available for the JBL speakers. I was going to give it 2 stars, but they recently added the option the adjust the EQ on the speaker. I suppose I’m a little sour because I used to use the Ultimate ears app with the MegaBoom speaker. With that app you could turn on and off the speaker (which was super handy if you were laying in bed and wanted to crank some music in the moment, you didn’t have to get up and find the speaker, or if you didn’t know where the speaker was 😆) it never lost Bluetooth connection, never had to find it in my phone Bluetooth settings. If other Ultimate Ears speakers were on, you’d simply “drag” the speakers into your profile and they’d instantly start playing what you were playing… good for party’s. I understand you can do this with the JBL speakers as well (I own 3) With that though, the JBL speakers are WAY better (in my opinion) than the Ultimate Ears speakers, but the JBL app isn’t very good… it often doesn’t find the speaker that I’m currently playing from, and same for other speakers that are awaiting to be linked together… I almost never use the JBL app, I just run my speakers manually (which works really well) If anyone from JBL reads this… AWESOME speakers, but the app needs work when compared to others.

JBL Bluetooth not working. I have been using the xtreme 3 for some months, and suddenly the Bluetooth is not showing among the available devices on my phone anymore, and i have tried to contact jbl , they thought me how to reset the unit and i did but didn’t work and i will have to return it back to them but i live in Nigeria and i find it difficult because i don’t know if they have any legit distributors here in Nigeria. I will be happy if you can help me

Great speaker terrible app. Do better JBL.. Wow. I got this as a Christmas gift from my husband and fell in love with the depth of sound and how easy it is to connect to and use, but as good as the speaker is, is how bad the app is. First, why doesn’t the app show you if the speaker is charging or what percentage the battery is at? Next, what good is the app if it doesn’t allow for (at the very least) volume control? It’s also missing the ability to view or change any other settings like source, skip tract, fast forward, rewind, disconnect and power on/off. Basically the speaker is good but the app is worthless. Next time I’m getting a Bose or Beats.

Fix this awful app please.. Edit. Jan 2020. This app will still not reliably and consistently allow two speakers (mine are identical) to play in stereo. A basic requirement. If your intent is to purchase a pair of JBL speakers to play in a stereo pair, please look elsewhere. I’ve had my speakers for over 18 months now and it hasn’t been fixed. End of edit. I bought two Charge 4s to listen in a stereo pair. Getting them to do that is nigh impossible. The app has been like this for a year now and nobody at Harman seems to want to fix it. Just read the reviews in chronological order - recent first. My advice would be to stay away from JBL’s speakers, nifty-looking though they are until they fix the app. Maybe it can’t be fixed. Maybe they have no devs. Who knows but the ability of two speakers to be able to play in stereo is a basic feature. FIX IT!

Bugs. I’m a truck driver and I use my speakers all the time . I stopped using them before the update because they would go in and out . I just updated and I do see improvement on the sync, before the speakers would go out and come back on but would not be in sync with the picture. That problem looks like it is fixed. The problem now is they still go in and out , I use them with my iPad and I really love the speakers. I hope the developers can get this together and as the updates come out I will give my opinion on them . Also note they do not stay synced when you play them together. One will drop out and one will play on and off.I give two stars for the small update. Update august 5 . I will give five stars now because I haven’t had any problems with the connection for the last month. The app is working fine at this time.

Resourceful whenever it decides to function. This is an incredibly useful application, when it decides to function. I follow the simple instruction of connecting my phone to Bluetooth as stated in the steps. It constantly gets stuck in a state of buffering. I am currently attempting to adjust the Treble/Bass and have been waiting for over 20 minutes. Despite many trouble shooting attempts, this issue occurs anytime you use the application.

Software Cripples Speakers. This is a rating for the app, not the speakers. But I admit, It’s hard to know where the problem exists, is it the app or the speakers? However, after reading a large number of other reviews, it appears that there are problems using the app with many of the various speaker types that it supports. I have two Pulse 3 speakers and it is almost impossible to get them working in stereo mode. There is nothing about setting this up in the printed manual that comes with the speakers so I assume it is limited to setup via the app. Also I can sometimes get one of the speakers set up to adjust the display but never so that I can adjust the other without without disconnecting both from Bluetooth first. When I go to the Bluetooth setup on my iPhone to disconnect, I find two instances of one of the two speakers listed. What is with that? I would like to have four of these speakers, two for each channel but that is probably too much to expect.

Improve this app my speakers crackle. So i had bought 1 jbl charge 5 i loved how it sounded it wouldn’t crackle or anything it sounded how it was supposed to so I bought another jbl charge 5 i connected them i could only go a few minutes without one of them stop working or they both were trying to cut out from each other and made a Static noise and it kept happening even when i turned them off then back on i even deleted the app then redownload it again and it still kept happening after 30 minutes messing with it I finally got somewhat a solid connection then it happened Again so this needs to be fixed there great speaker’s but if yall fixed this app there are no complaints and it would be a 100% a good review

JBL Charge 4 Camo edition. So I’ve had the speaker for about 2 years now and it by far is one of the best speakers I’ve ever used. But the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it’s had a bunch of problems with charging, EVEN after I replaced the battery a couple days later it started doing the exact same thing it was doing before I replaced it. Now it’s working perfectly fine all the sudden and it’s only staying “charged” on the 1 out of 5 of the dots for charging and that’s what it was doing before I replaced it and I go on this app and it says it’s that low. Idk I take super good care of it always have and it’s still took a weird turn and idk if two years would be long enough for it to have anything happen to it but who knows. Please help idk if it needs an update but if so please send that haha. Thank you that’s my review. Send me a new JBL charge 4 or upgrade me to a charge 5 or trade mine in and upgrade me to the charge 5 and I’ll raise my rating but idk if it’s that worth the extra stars.

Amazing Speaker and App but one small problem. I love my new JBL Charge 5. It is way better than my old Charge 3 which finally broke after 6 years. The app works well with the speaker. I love the equalizer. But with that, can you guys offer a dark mode on the app? I use the app a lot with my speaker and it’s usually at night so sometimes it irritates my eyes. Besides that, my experience has been 10/10.

Features. Portable boom box 3 sounds good in my vehicle. However, it would be nice if the app had a built in ON and OFF Switch rather than having to reach to manually turn on and off even tough it does have an auto shut off feature that turns it off after a while. Developers please make some updates and then I will rate 5 stars. Also, the bass and treble need more tweaks.

APP Needs a lot of work. I recently purchased 2 Flip 5 speakers with hopes to connect the 2 in stereo on my golf cart. Well as instructed downloaded this App and that’s where the issues began. Had difficulty syncing the two speakers They worked great individually with or without this App). When the speakers did Sync the music cut in and out.. I finally gave up and decided to call JBL, both times I got no where with them.. they barely spoke English. I then tried syncing the 2 speaking without the aid of the App and that did the trick, I deleted this App until they fix the bugs in it. I wrote JBL, like another person who wrote a review commented... hope they listen to there customers.

I’d rate it 5 star if the following hurdles are resolved. So I’ve had a great experience using the Jbl portable app but the downside is that whenever I exit the app even if for just a minute it automatically closes and I’d have to reconnect the app each time and I feel like a great product like Jbl it should pack a better equalizer on the app, but that’s just my opinion, I do hope this issue is resolved.

Partyboost will never work. JBL will continue rebranding and renaming partyboost, or as I like to call it “JBL FM”. The app offers no ability to link serialized speakers and instead broadcasts it to all JBL speakers nearby and creates a sort of tug of war for power over who’s Bluetooth signal YOUR speakers will start playing. I own two JBL charge 5. I kid you not, your JBL speakers will start playing someone else’s music in party mode and there is no way to tell the firmware not to do this. Completely useless. Partyboost doesn’t work with even the slightest interference, like other Bluetooth signals, a slight breeze, or somebody humming too closely to your music. Such a big disappointment that the app doesn’t allow you any control over Partyboost linking or EQ while in Partyboost. Please add the functionality to pair speakers in Partyboost just to each other, so that they play MY music in stereo and not everyone else’s. Product is fundamentally flawed if this feature is not added.

Not as it seems.. First I love my jbl extreme. That being said. This app I just updated says you can control speaker from app. That’s a lie. The only think I can do is change the play button into hey Siri or play next track. Also since I updated. The app looks just the same. Nothing different but the preview screen shows the app looking different. What is up with that? Also can you guys please put an alarm clock option in the app? I’m a heavy sleeper and would like my speaker to be an alarm. If megaboom can do it…why can’t jbl have the same thing???

Fair, but not consistent. The system works most of the time, but often takes quite a bit of time to get booted up. Some of the time I have to turn off, and on the speakers. Some of the time I have to restart the software. Sometimes there is interference from other things the phone is doing which causes distortion. I wish there was a great way to do stereo by Bluetooth on my phone, but I have not found it yet. This is as good as I’ve found so far.

Less for more. Sadly it seems the new Partyboost line has less to offer in exchange for a USB type, C plug. No microphone for voice control or phone calls, no backward compatibility with the connect line previous to it, and sadly no battery percentage displayed in my notification center. How do they expect you to go into the proprietary app to check your battery level and it’s still does not show you a true percentage only a four segment battery status bar. All this and still manage to charge more for a product that offers less than the model before.

Jbl charge five and jbl 300. I own the jbl 300 and jbl charge five. Completely satisfied. The sound quality and battery life is excellent. Went boating and dropped the charge five in the lake three separate times-floated and still going strong. The app for the charge five is nice with battery life and eq adjustments. Planning on getting another charge five and link them. The charge five is a lot louder than I expected.

EQ adjustments (Boombox 2). I always hoped and wished that jbl speakers had EQ adjustments because I’ll be able to customize the sound to my likings and I hope this feature doesn’t only stay with the Flip 6 and Xtreme 3 and I hope it comes to the Xtreme 2 and Boombox 2. This feature will automatically make JBL a top choice for most people.

I recommend this to any Flip 6 user!. I understand other people are having issues with the flip 5, that’s unfortunate. Although, for me, the base, mid, and treble all work wonderfully! If you turn up the bass, you obv get more bass, you turn up the mid, you can hear the song better, and the treble makes the song way more clear and detailed, (better if speaker is low volume too). I recommend turning everything up because everything will be noticeably louder and that’s the point of the speaker I’d assume, max bass, mid, & treble. In conclusion, I think it’s imperative that you get this app if you want to get the most out of your flip 6. TL:DR: Most definitely get this app if you have a JBL Flip 6, works wonders with the EQ of the speaker.

Painfully little features & power saver is a bummer. I have a JBL Charge 4 and this app allows me next to update my firmware and NOTHING more. I want to turn off the power save feature that kicks in when the speaker detects a few moments of silence. I cannot use my speaker for watching movies because everytime there is a quiet part in the movie the speaker cuts off and then I miss several seconds of dialogue or whatever waiting for it to power up again. Such a disappointment I cannot turn that ‘feature’ off using this app. I am selling my speaker to find one that works simply across a variety of sound situations.

Do not upgrade. Ruined my JBL Go 3.. I made the mistake to upgrade. After I cannot longer use the speaker connected with a 3.5mm cable since it’s extremely annoying to talk. Once the other party stop talking for a few seconds ( around 3 sec) and start talking I cannot hear the first words. They added a “clever” eco mode so will silent the audio if the level under a threshold. It is starting with a delay that makes the conversation impossible. Can easy test listening some music and lower de volume from the phone. On lower levels the JBL will stop playing. Really. It is that bad. Contacted them some months ago. Did not helped. Device not under warranty. Well, they should not release new firmware, untested that will break the speaker. I see all the new JBL speakers are Bluetooth only. But the Bluetooth quality is poor compared to a cable connection. Why should I purchase JBL? No thanks.

Finally boombox2 eq update!!!. For the longest time this app was basically useless but they finally added eq support, and even though it is very basic (only bass, mid, treble) it is still a big improvement and and actually makes the speaker sound a lot better. Rating it 4 stars though because this update took so long to come out. I am really glad that they are updating this app though because when I first bought my speaker this app had like 2.5 stars lol and it was honestly horrible, but now, hey they are actually putting good work into it :) Thank you JBL.

App Better Than Ever. An updated review, after the recent update, all issues with the compatibility with the Pulse 4 have been fixed. The app now has deeper options for customizing the Lightshow patterns and now an option to turn off the lights all together. Very glad these issues were addressed and improved beyond their initial problems. Love the speakers, love the app controls

Not the most reliable application.. It doesn’t always recognize the new speaker, it did at first…. but it is not a true stereo(by the instructions) and it fails to provide all that it is promised. I bought the speaker because it was “Made in the 🇺🇸 USA”, but after all: there are competitors out there that are truly reliable and deliver on the promises they DO make. I hope for an update to the application: the product is great within itself!

I give up on the app. First, the JBL Flip 5 speakers are amazing. The app, not so great. When using my two speakers in stereo they sound great playing through my iPad. I have updated the software in both speakers but the connection through the app seems glitchy. One speaker will stop, then the other, then they both come back on, then both go out. I’m still working to determine why there is an issue. When using the standard Bluetooth connection (no app) I have no problem, except the sound is mono through each speaker, thus, I don’t think this is a Bluetooth issue. I love JBL so I hope to find a remedy. If I do figure out the cause of my problem, I’ll try to up date my rating and note the fix.

No ability to set default. It always changes back to party mode, rather than staying on stereo after I’ve set it. This is irritating as every time I open the app again, I also need to connect the speakers again. It’s clunky & slow.

Will not. Connect flip 6. No matter how hard I try this device will not connect on Bluetooth

It doesn’t connect with my flip6.. I tried to connect between this app and my flip6, but it never connected them. I turned on this app and speaker over 3hour to find each other, but it won’t do it. Can you fix this happen?

The app doesn’t work with flip 6. I have got no issue connecting my flip 6 to my iPhone. Works fine. The app finds my flip 6 and tells me it’s getting ready. It does this until it tells me to go to my Bluetooth because it’s not connected. Funny though it’s playing quite happily from my iPhone. The app is a very poor price of software.

App won’t connect to Charge 5. App recognises I have a charge 5 but the dashboard won’t load, continually asks me to reconnect. I’ve done that, tried reinstalling the app and all but it does not work.

Does not work. Even though my JBL Charge 3 is connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone, this app is never able to locate and connect to the JBL Charge 3 speaker. I’ve even tried reinstalling the app multiple times, but still no luck.

JBL boombox 2. Great sound. A larger equilizer range would be handy. Also if the speaker could be turned on and off from the app. Also battery life indicator.

Flip 5. Awesome little speaker.

Charge 5. This app is 100% useless. I thought I must have downloaded the wrong one when all I worked out the only thing I can do was connect another speaker. I have absolutely no idea why this app exists. You can see batter levels, adjust volume, turn on and off. I will be taking the JBL speaker back and getting something more equivalent to 2021. Absolutely pointless.

EQ FOR CHARGE ?. Do you guys have some crispy high end EQ for Charge 3 or am I missing something ?

Won’t connect. I just got a Flip 6. Pairs with my iPhone with no issues . I open the app and it won’t recognise my speaker. Have tried several times and nothing!

The app will not let me connect. Useless actually have waited so long for it to connect to my new charge 5 and still hasn’t connected i hope this is resolved

Could be better. This app does not automatically connect to the boombox. The app does not seem to know my device is already connected via Bluetooth. Graphic equaliser feature is good.

Good not great. I have had the JBL app for a day trying to find the eq were is it

Doesn’t Work. Doesn’t Work ?. This app wouldn’t connect to the speaker, it was a waist of time downloading it. Hopefully you will fix these issues.

Terrible app!. I bought two JBL Charge 5 speakers so I could connect in ‘Party Mode’ via the app. Not a chance…. Tried every conceivable sequence of starting them, connecting them, together or individually etc etc. NOTHING! I’ll be looking for different speakers next time around.

Big fan of these speakers, not of Partyboost. Hi JBL, I love your speakers but trying to get 2 different models to work in stereo via PartyBoost is a nightmare! Sometimes (rarely) it works and other times, it just plain refuses! It’s driving me crazy. Please help

More to be done. Being able to turn my speaker on and off from app would be a big improvement. App takes too long to load each time opened.

Doesn’t support Jbl Go 3. Its not connecting to my Jbl Go 3 and thats the only Jbl Speaker i have so i cant use the app

2nd speaker. Sometimes I have to restart the app to register a second speaker to link up.

Garbage. Bought 2 x flip 5 speakers to connect and play off the app in stereo. Hasn’t worked properly since bought and installed. Difficult to connect both speakers and then right or left intermittently disconnect and reconnect resulting in frustration as ruins the mood and flow. Hoping updates would fix but never do. Regret buying and has definitely turned me off purchasing any more JBL products.

Stereo. I give two stars, one for each connected speaker. And only two because connecting in stereo rather than party mode is hit and miss at best. #disapointing

JBL you are losing business to UE. Fix this app and get it working or you will lose out to your competitors. Simple as that!

Can’t see eq settings in the app. I couldn’t adjust eq settings from the app as there’s no any eq opinion to click on.

Love the sound not the app. I love my 2 JBL, great sound and great for camping. So much sound for small speakers. The app has constantly been an issue as I like stereo, in a word “clunky”

Pointless app. Just Copy the UE app features. It works and has features other than just the battery level of the speaker.

JBL! Fix your App!. This app isn’t what it used to be. I have a Boombox 2, and the app can’t set up so I can do updates and check the power. What is wrong with it it?

JBL. Would be great if you could turn it on and off via the app like the mega boom 3

Doesn’t pair. Connected to iPhone, however this app will not connect or find it, not worth it!

No good in Stereo mode. The only reason you need to use this app is if you want to use 2 JBL speakers in stereo mode. For “party mode” (2 speaker mono by a different name) it’s totally unnecessary. Stereo mode is great but with this glitchy app, it only works about 10% of the time. Back to the drawing board, JBL.

Terrible brand. Terrible app takes 10 mins just to load, if your thinking bout getting JBL DONT

JBL boom2. It all good but app will be so much better if you can turn device on and off via app

Useless. You can only work with the party mode or stereo. No sounds settings at all. If you have only one speaker this app is definitely useless

0 ⭐️ app. Just down loaded the app and deleted ...... absolutely pointless does not do anything . Can’t turn it on from you phone , no EQ , all I does is tell me my charge 4 is charging hahaha pathetic JBL not even in the game compared to UEboom app if I could give 0 ⭐️‘s I would

JBL connect. JBL battery fails to charge after 1 year. Cannot upgrade firmware as connect won’t….. CONNECT! Junk, Junk, Junk! I’m gone! Buying another brand

Garbage. Get Ultimate Ears. This app is atrocious. It drops out constantly and the support for Stereo is practically non existent. Here’s how it works for the Charge 4. 1 turn on both speakers. 2 pair them with connect+ 3 wait literally 30 seconds for app to detect second speaker 4 switch to stereo Done? Not quite. To maintain it you must keep the JBL app open. And I mean OPEN. You can’t minimise it or stereo drops after 5 mins. You can’t pause music or stereo drops. You cannot close the app or stereo drops. I got two UE mega boom 3’s and they literally remember they’re in stereo. It’s perfect. The UE app is reliable and works. AVOID JBL or you’re throwing money away.

Light Customisation Feature. With the slider to adjust the brightness of the LED’s, is it possible to have a save feature so every-time you leave the app, it doesn’t have to automatically reset the brightness level and you can keep it at the highest level? Cheers

Not compatible with Charge 5. The app will not connect to my JBL Charge 5. The app finds the speaker but will not connect to change settings and EQ. Please release an update compatible with the Charge 5.

Complicated. Takes a bit of effort to pair two devices together each time you want to have a listen experience in stereo.

Would NOT recommend. I purchased two JBL speakers thinking the party boost connection feature meant I could have one speaker in a room and the other out in the common room however you can only use this feature through this app which is only available to iPhones and iPods! This means if I want to use my phone to call or watch something or a text comes through the music stops. This app would be great if it was compatible with desk top computers or iPads! considering the speakers are expensive and promotes the feature connecting multiple speakers, I would have thought the app would be compatible with more devices. It’s useless and disappointing

Allow apple ios widget functions. A feature that will allow us to use the battery widget on ios to see our speakers battery level would be handy!

Flip 5. Great little sound machine. Easy to move around to get great sound anywhere.

Cant connect the charge 3( older speaker) to the newer ones. I went and bought a flip 5 after the charge 3 and now I can’t connect both of them. Their advertisement says you can connect multiple devices but then this happens. I don’t understand the problems relating this app. It’s so easy to solve but jbl refuses to do so which really ticks me off. Work on it jbl or you won’t last much long in this industry

App stuff. I’m giving this a 2 star because it takes so long for the app to pick up my speaker also you can’t access your speaker stuff when the speaker is turned off and it would be good if you’re able to turn off and on jbl speakers through the all like the Ultimate Boom app

Pls make it full screen on iPads specifically the ipad air 4. The app works great with my charge 5 ,pulse 4s, flip 6 and Xtreme 3 but it’s only designed for iPhones so it’s not full screen on iPads. so jbl please design your app to work with ipads

Very good. This app is extremely useful for using your Jbl speaker and an adjustable EQ for your speaker

Takes a while. Takes a while to load up speaker eq for charge 5 otherwise it’s not too long to be patient for

I love JBL. Literally awesome, great app and I love my JBL Boombox more than food and sleep itself

Good bluetooth speaker. Sound is so nice so clarity and also bass is so good highly recommended for all speaker lover’s

Stopped working. This has been working fine for me up to three weeks ago. Stereo and partboost not working any more. Have tested both charge 5 and flip 5 and neither will pair but all work separately. JBL support not really of any help as according to them, the app doesn’t have a Stereo function which isn’t true. Think I’m off to Sonos unfortunately, which is a shame. I have 5 JBL speakers in my house and always had 4 paired until this.

Ok. Needs quite a bit of polishing

JBL 5. Très bon son très bien

Disconnected. My Charge 4 connected just after I downloaded the app but since then it’s disconnected and there’s no way reconnect the app and the speaker.

JBL Flip6. Great sounding BT speaker … just wish it showed the battery level on an iphone like other BT speakers and headsets. Would rate higher but this is a relationship killer for me.

Unable to adjust eq on xtreme 3. I can’t update my xtreme 3 to the latest version nor can I get eq adjustments on the app I’ve installed and uninstalled several times and still no difference is there an alternative way to update the speaker?

Can’t connect to JBL Xtreme speaker. Whenever I open up this app, it recognizes my speaker, and then loads forever before saying that it can’t connect to my speaker. There needs to be an update to fix this issue.

Bad up date. Since the last firmware update for charge3 I cannot connect to my phone unless the speaker is plugged in to power. My battery is full and only once it’s connected then I can unplug and take it with me

Keeps on crashing. It doesn’t really what speaker I use the app keeps on crashing. I want to update my speakers, but like I said the app crashes all the time and it really sucks.

Pretty annoying. Wont let me connect my speaker to the app

Never finds new speakers on iPhone. Glitchy app

Useless app. I cannot find equalizer for JBL charge 4

Worst app. Total crap app

Doesn’t connect few times. My boombox 2 sometimes doesn’t connects. Have to forget device in Bluetooth settings and then connect again. Please fix it.

Very Nice App. When it connects! I have a wide range of products and they don’t connect….

used it and now my speaker is blown. downloaded this and now my speaker has been so crunchy and the bass is so gone. my vocals are also not as good. everything is just blown on it

PierreAB. This app does not connect to my pair of Flip 6's. So can't do anything. Using iPhone 13 PRO with iOS 16.3.1. Also tried with iPad Air 5th Gen with iOS 16.3.1. Don't understand why you put out an app that doesn't work ??? Seems kind of a strange thing to do.

Good quality nice. Bluetooth speaker 👍🏻

Great Idea!! Not reliable link to Speakers. I love the idea of having the speakers linked and send either R and L sounds or playing all the same track (mixed R and L) to all speakers all at once. I use a iPhone 13 Pro, latest version of the app: 5.7.8 use it at home, no obstructions betweek speakers and phone, less than 10 feet (3m) distance, never had issues with blutooth connected normally (not using the JBL app in party mode) but I get speakers glitching sound, disconnect-reconnect durring playback. It is frustrating not to have steady sound stream. I wish the speakers could buffet the sound track pkaying or share between them to avoid the sound to cutoff. Maybe a feed back to user interface to say the strenght of the connextion between the phone and each speakers and even between the speakers if such link exist. Surely we can make this link better and more reliable. With Todays technology, I cannot believe that the sound cannot be carried steadily for 10feet (3m) away. Still, the idea is great and hope the next upgrade will fix the glitch. Cheers!

I love this speaker but. I love my flip essential 2 but could u add it to the app? I want to connect it to the app but there’s no option for it

Not connecting. This app failed to connect with my Flip 6.

Update Firmware only. Update Firmware only thing that works. Pretty useless app otherwise. Oh, maybe Party mode and Multiple connect might work but who knows if you only have one JBL device.. Other than device Firmware update, app a total waste of time and space for this user. 2 Stars for Firmware update ability. That’s it.

Great portable speaker. Great acústic

Always has problems. Can’t even connect my jbl extreme to the app no matter what I do

Extreme 3. Awesome!

Bad app. I have iPhone 13 Pro and JBL extreme, so this application can’t find my JBL! How to solve this issue?

Bufff. J'adore les produits JBL mais l'appli a un gros manque à gagner. Il serait bien de pouvoir allumer et éteindre à partir de l'appli, tout comme c'est possible avec celui de Bose. De plus, je ne vois pas une grosse différence avec "l'équaliser", ça serait peut-être un option de penser à en mettre un préprogrammés (Rock, dance, etc. ). C'est mon avis.

Doesn’t work. I’m literally paired to the boombox playing music and yet the app can’t find the device…? Please fix

Awesome!!!. The best speaker ever

Charge 4 needs an update. The charge 3 gets an update but not charge 4

JBL app. This app does nothing, I’m returning the speakers too.

powerful sound. high quality

Performance issue once updated. The moment I updated the software (jbl charge 3) battery indicator went from 5bars to 1 last bar. Since that moment I’m having problem with speaker’s battery. … now I’m enjoying my speaker with new software and performance issues. Thanks jbl 😓

Me gustaría más si uniera una actualización mejor. Pero me gusta mucho

JBL. My charge 2 won’t hook up to the app but every thing else will

Potential… but…. Too many glitches. In theory, this app could be great. Devices too often disconnect or have trouble connecting. Partyboost is finicky at best… again, it is great… when, if it works.

Cannot connect to Speaker. JBL app won’t connect to JBL 5 through my iPhone, while playing music at the same time.

The app does not always work. I have a jbl extreme 3 and sometimes when I open the app it won’t see the speaker and it’ll ask me to disconnect the speaker from Bluetooth and reconnect, which is really annoying. The app never works unless I reconnect the speaker, please fix…. And release update for the extreme 3 for more bass please, the speaker is too big for the little bass it produces

Great but needs update. The application is great but it disconnects all the time from the bleutooth , so the sound it’s not the same you need to connect it every time so I’ll give it a 3 star

Party feature!. Linking the speakers and having a surround type of sound I get from having 2 is awesome! Will be buying more to see just how many I can link together.

Speaker configuration gone. Can no longer configure the speaker into Bass, rock or something. Need update!

This app sucks. This app is really just a waste of time if you have the job charge essential. Maybe add all the speakers to the list and make it easier to connect them as right now I can’t connect anything. Do better

Turn off. They should make it so in the app you can turn off the speaker

Won’t connect to JBL Xtreme. I can play music on my speaker but the app won’t connect to it. It actually shuts my speaker off and says it can’t connect

Previous track should be added. Triple tap the play button to go to the previous track. It would be useful

We need custom lighting for the pulse 5. Would be very great have custom lighting patterns. Apart from that, the canvas light more needs more customization. Decent app but I expected more for 345$ on a speaker.

Flip 6. sounds amazing and crystal clear.

More controls. You should put volume control on the app

Jbl boom box 3 party boost with jbl pulse 5. Hi jbl, Shame on you guys on your updates. I cannot connect my jbl pulse with boom box using party boost. After the update. Worst update of JBL.

Extreme3. Awesome little speaker

Ok. My charge 3 equalizer doesn’t work can I have some help

JBL Go 3 does not connect. I purchased the JBL Go 3 mini speaker. I love the speaker but sometimes it dies because the battery is out of juice. I downloaded this app so that I might have more control of its charged percentage. The app doesn’t even list the Go 3 as an option. Am i doing something wrong? Or will JBL correct this at some point?

Two-speaker stereo is essentially broken.. Like others, I bought a second speaker to support stronger stereo sound. It works until the app sleeps, so it only works for one song at a time. For all practical purposes, this is false advertising. Please update your app to never sleep or otherwise solve this problem. A PC version of the app would also be great so we can play this from desktop computers. I’ll be returning my second speaker and not recommending this until this gets sorted.

Don’t make everything run through this trash app. It is insane that JBL is trying to run everything for the updates through this app. My firmware is out of date and I want to upgrade it. However, even though the speaker is paired with my phone and Bluetooth connected it won’t show in the app. So I can’t update it. Also, Bluetooth is inherently less stable than USB. There should be an option to update via usb. It is insane this isn’t an equal option. This makes no sense.

The App Cannot find my device. Even though the speaker is connected to my device, in the JBL app it appears like it never found the speaker and yes my speaker is compatible with the app, its a JBL Pulse 3, for some reason its not working and I like to customize my speaker experience in this app and its not working anymore. Please fix this issue.

Could be good if.... Either the app would stay open while you were running stereo mode. Or if it would show the tip again about how to get it to stay in stereo mode after the app is closed. I'm going to try again. Hopefully if I try what the tip says to do again it will work this time. Sad face

Big Problems. This app has severe difficulties connecting to my speakers. I have 2 JBL Charge 5s and the app only connects about 60% of the time is use it. They suggest pausing music while trying to connect to speed up the process, but it barely works, if at all. When it does work, its a pretty good experience, with an intuitive layout as well as being very well designed. Overall, its a frustrating experience, but I love the speakers, so I just deal.

Great App. App works great for me. I think a cool feature to add would be being able to lock the speaker’s connection to the owners device so that other people can’t just press the BT button on the speaker and disconnect you from your own speaker.

Spotty at best. Bought 2 xtreme 3s for partyboosting pool parties. Sometimes the app connects but more than half the time it doesn’t. Also, both needed a software update through this app. The first updated smoothly, no problems. The second will not update. It downloads up to maybe 20% and then shuts off. Have tried many times. Also searched and found out it’s a relatively common problem that Jbl has not fixed. For $300+ you better get it right Jbl

Xtreme 1 Will Not Connect. Xtreme 1 will not connect to app. App begins connection process and then after recognizing the speaker it shuts my speaker off and then interrupts the connection process. It then will say speaker is unable to be connected. I believe there is an issue with the app that’s causing the Xtreme 1 to shut off. Either want this issue corrected or be able to update firmware through a hard wired connection with computer. Boombox and flip 5 connect with no issues.

I got stereo mode to work. Now, I just need it to stay working, Even when I don’t have the app open.. Is there a possibility that you guys could release a firmware update to make a shortcut using one of the buttons that don’t have a shortcut to it to make stereo pair a built-in feature of the speaker itself?

Speakers compatibility changes. Charge 4 and flip 5 cannot connect to each other? I bought them less than a year apart. It makes you not want to buy any more speakers because now I cannot create the whole house experience like I used to when I had the flip 4. Be cautious when buying a speaker with the certain type of Bluetooth “technology” that JBL has because not even their app can connect them together.

Won’t show me the EQ settings for Charge 5. I just updated the app and was really excited that I can finally use EQ settings on my JBL Charge 5. Unfortunately it keeps asking me to reconnect the device even though it is already connected by my phone’s Bluetooth. I don’t know if it is my phone or the app but without the app the speaker works just fine and I can still play music. It’s just a shame I can’t use the EQ settings.

Very basic app, lacks simple controls. I’m a long time Ultimate Ears BT speaker owner and for years users have been able to power their speaker on/off remotely, set alarms, adjust the speaker volume and EQ settings as well as pair it with other speakers all through the app. Some speakers even had wifi capability This JBL app doesn’t even do half of that. It’s only benefit is that it allows you to adjust the very limited EQ settings. The speaker sounds great, but the app is virtually useless.

Highly impressed!. Bought the jbl speaker (charge 5) when it was on sale with phone purchase. Sounds amazing and the battery life actually lasts. Waterproof and the best part is you can sync them for a surround sound. You won’t be disappointed!

App is getting better. App continues to improve with updates. Speakers connect via Bluetooth quickly. The equalizer could be better though. It doesn’t work at all in stereo mode.

Don’t waste your time. Downloaded the software to see what “features” would be unlocked. Thought the speaker (Flip6) is connected to my phone and playing the sound, the software cannot find the speaker. After a few tries of restarting etc I am going to delete this App. It’s a waste of storage. You’d think a large company could get a simple interface to connect. Lame. The speaker is great however. It would be nice to have sone bass/treble adjustments but this App won’t work.

Cannot find JBL Flip 5. I wanted to use this app because I’d read it was a way to disable that awful, loud, obtrusive power on/off sound, but the app will not connect to my JBL Flip 5, no matter what I do. Reset speaker, reset phone, remove app, reinstall app, try it from another phone etc. My phone(s) have no problem connecting to my speaker, but this app simply will not find the speaker. You click on “app support” here and it takes you to the JBL website homepage. Such poor customer service.

Excellent app. Very good app and easy to use. I give it five stars. I bought a second JBL charge five and it works great in stereo when you add a second speaker you lose your equalizer I really really really like that feature. I didn’t wanna lose it but I’m very happy.

Dropping connection. I found lately that your app disconnects from the speakers on a more frequent basis, and it means I have to turn the speakers off and back on again. Not acceptable. I have the JBL Flip6 and liked the product a lot, but lately it is more frustrating to stream music. I have two connected in stereo set up, and it is great when it works without disconnecting. I am beginning to regret having purchased the speakers, just because your app is acting up.

Searching for product .... If you like reading those words “Searching for product...” then you’ve come to the right place. Imagine, all day long you could stare at the bright orange JBL logo while it sends hypnotizing circles at you with those magical words “searching for product ...”- it’s truly a fantastic solution for filling this inner void I feel when It’s quiet. I would’ve given it 5 stars but I wouldn’t want you to think they paid me for this review. Enjoy!

JBL 6. Best speaker I’ve had. Really gets all the subtle notes and has great range. For someone without a stereo, it’s plenty loud for working out or the shower. Really impressed and happy with the speaker , the app lets you set the equalizer so two thumbs up.

I wish this app would work. Love the lights so very much and the control we have to play with. I consider one a necessity for travel anywhere for add vibe ✨ Speakers hardly ever connect without spending lots of time configuring sync, and even when they do sync up-glitches and switches toggle and bounce between both places even when nearby. If they could automatically connect at the same time without needing to connect via app continually any time turned back on together would be amazing.

The speakers are great. The app is hot garbage.. Clunky ap. Why do I have to connect speakers every single time I use them? Why can't they detect my BT as soon as they're turned on, like every other BT device? Why is it necessary to activate party mode every single time I want to chain stereo? This is the reason I haven't bought my 80 year old father a second speaker. Practically requires a degree to operate a clunky, counterintuitive app. Five minutes of fumbling back and forth through moronic menus just to listen to music. Ridiculous.

Manage Bluetooth connections. I have too many people connected to my speaker And if the only way to remove them is to reset my speaker every time, and the app can’t show me who’s connected or who I want to be automatically connected to, then I’m not satisfied. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for, but it would make a huge impact as far as making the app more useful.

Here’s the problem in a short sentence….. Connection problems, turning off when trying to connect to app. In other words the app is basically useless when trying to connect the JBL Extreme to the app. Update: It’s still doing it, it won’t connect and it keeps turning off my speaker, please fix it, I’ve tried everything and it still doesn’t work. It will turn off when I try to connect it and it will automatically turns back on and it still won’t connect.

Pulse color scheme changed 😑. JBL Pulse 4 color scheme was changed in the latest firmware. Spiritual preset had a beautiful red-blue-purple scheme by default. This color scheme is impossible to choose in color picker, so I always used this default color scheme. Now, after the firmware upgrade, the default scheme is changing colors. Can you, please, return this preset or let the user stop the color scheme rotation?

JBL part boost...fail?. The app fails to show the party boost “button” automatically. It takes too long to connect, furthermore if you come across a video or commercial, the party boost disconnects all but two speakers....upon resuming music, the additional speakers don’t connect back, or play music without intervention....for the amount of money my family spent on these speakers, we expected them to connect more easily. So, not cool. We are talking about entertainment speakers for public consumers, not aircraft electronics, come on JBL, make this work better and fix the Phone app.

Charge 5. The December 2021 update for the JBL app does not work for my Charge 5. I downloaded the latest app update and the software for the Charge 5. While my app will connect with the speaker it tries to update the EQ but will not complete. I’ve tried everything. Turning the speaker off, reloading the app, disconnecting Bluetooth, reconnecting Bluetooth etc. No luck. Hopefully there’s an update to the app soon.

Unbelievably bare bones app. I love my change 4s. The app lets me switch from party mode to stereo which sounds way better. However it is just plain sad that an app from the renowned JBL is as basic and barebones as this app. For speaker control there needs to be some basic functions like powering the speaker in or off via the app. Most importantly we need an equalizer and I dont understand why a feature apple had in iTunes back in the early 2000s is missing from a 2023 app. It’s a scandal to be honest. I need to be able to control the bass and other frequencies to adjust for room dynamics or being outdoors. Inside a boomy room I need to reduce the heavy bass but can’t. Outside I need to increase the bass but I can’t. Jbl team: please add at minimum a 3 band EQ. If you want to go above and beyond give me a 10 band EQ. Thanks.

A bit underwhelming. While I do enjoy the simplicity of the app, it’s kind of too basic. I have the JBL extreme 3 and I have an iPhone. The app doesn’t have an equalizer (5.6.7) and iPhone’s music EQ is factually a joke. So the speaker is always a bit flat in sound (clear though). Otherwise I have no use for the app.

Can not be used with charge2’s. So disappointed I bought a charge2 a few years ago and the charge 4 last year. My dog is afraid of thunderstorms and I had wanted to use both speakers to drown out the storm only to find out the app doesn’t work with the charge 2’s which I don’t understand why. It’s not like they don’t have the ability to connect to other ones. Guess I will keep using only one speaker at a time.

Needs an app update. Awesome speakers and I enjoy the update because you can adjust the way your speaker sounds but I wish they would add an option on the app where you could turn the speakers without manually turning it off. Besides that JBL speakers sound fantastic but it just needs that one small option on the app.

Wish it had eq profiles but otherwise great. The app is great and works seamlessly and I like being able to adjust the bass, mid, and treble with the sliders but wish there was “profiles” for the eq like during the day I turn those UP but at night I gotta turn those way down

Shortcut compatibility. Very glad they added the EQ option, would be nice if the app was compatible with Shortcuts so I could make a shortcut to toggle the EQ on/off. But still 5* because of the EQ feature and the app works fine otherwise

Update please. Honestly I won’t lie I liked the app, I’ve had the app for a while using my Jbl pulse 3, but now after an update whenever I turn on my Jbl I can change the color and it won’t pop up on the app. I tried hard resetting it and deleting the app to see if something would work but I’ve tried multiple times but nothing. It connects to Bluetooth and I can play music, but I can’t change the lights or anything on it. Please I really wish this can be fixed

Useless for Charge 3. Unless I am missing something, very useless for Charge 3. It gives you the manual, a way to update firmeware of device and a way to name device (which I can do without the app in my phones Bluetooth settings). I was just wanting to change EQ a bit but it appears that may be only for other devices and not as advertised for the Charge 3.

Hard to connect 2 speakers. I have 2 ten year old Ultimate Ear speakers so I bought 2 Charge 4. It is so hard connecting both speakers to play at the same time let alone connecting them to stereo mode and one you do, they constantly revert back to mono which is very frustrating when trying to connect back to stereo which takes forever. Y’all need to get this app. together. I honestly wish I’d bought 2 new Ultimate Ear speakers which is easier to connect and they stay in stereo mode.

Won't Even Connect Soeakers. I have a JBL Charge 4 and a Flip 5, both speakers' firmware is completely up to date (the Flip 5 is brand new), yet the app can't seem to connect my Charge 4 to partyboost. I can connect the Flip 5 and the "finding nearby speakers" icon just sits there with the little "thinking" circle just spinning away. I’ve had the Charge 4 for about 6 mos and bought the Flip 5 solely for the ability to connect them. Highly disappointed...was really excited to use these. Will probably put them up on eBay now. 😕

Please Add Some Features. Good app, speakers connect well. I have the Pulse 4 and Charge 5. Using them in party boost mode, it would be nice to be able to enter the dashboard for the Pulse 4 (this feature is missing). Additionally, the photo color match feature (which was heavily marketed) is missing from the dashboard for the Pulse 4. An equalizer for the Charge 5 would be nice as well. Please add these features.

Takes a long time to sign in to the app then the majority of the time. It takes a long time for you to sign in the app did the majority of times they logged you out so you have to log back in to the room to click on to that then sign back in snot a good app the software needs to be updated there’s no reason why you can’t just click onto the app and sign into your account and connect to your speaker

Doesn’t work. The app no longer recognizes either of my xtreme 2 speakers even though it used to work fine. Both speakers are on firmware 2.7.0.0 and were doing fine before. Even removing them from the phone Bluetooth list and readding them didn’t fix the problem. Why do we even have to use the app to put them in stereo mode. Why can’t it just be a long button press on the speaker link button if there’s only two of them connected in that mode?

speakers. love the speaker, i always want to use it. it would be easier sometimes to be able to turn it off from my phone tho, maybe theres a way to but i havent figured it out yet, but if there isnt maybe consider making that a thing JBL?

Flip 4 BT disconnects frequently. I received Flip 4 as a gift. I use it when I watch movies on my MacBook. It works fine most of the time but it will disconnect frequently (at least once a day if not more often) from my MacBook. It already has 4.0.0 firmware so I hope you guys are still updating the firmware to work out bugs. I also received a JBL BT mini earbuds and that works pretty well so I’m not here to bash JBL.

Charge 5 phone app is slow and functions poorly. Managing two or more speakers via party boost is slow, clunky, and unintuitive. If both speakers join via Bluetooth to the local phone intended to control them, Party Boost will not manage the second speaker until you go to settings, Bluetooth, and disconnect the second speaker, then go back to the app and try again. Very poor implementation. There are more things wrong with it but I’ll hold back

THE APP IS CRAP. Just purchased 4 Flip 6s. The speakers sound phenomenal. However, 2 speakers have different firmware versions than the other two. The app indicates the older version is the most up to date while there is a newer version of the firmware. Also, extremely difficult to connect all four speakers to PartyBoost. Bluetooth drops one or all. I have tried many ways to get them all connected. Very very time consuming. I can get all speakers working in PartyBoost without the app. I just push the infinity looking button. However, this sometimes doesn’t work or takes a long time getting them to connecting. THE APP IS CRAP Too bad. The speakers are amazing when they all work together. Harmon/JBL Should be ashamed of themselves putting out such crap.

Best customer support ever!. I bought the boombox 2. Tried to pair it with this app on my newly updated iOS 16 phone, did not work. Reached out to JBL they had an update less than 24 hours later. Wow. App works great. All I ask is next time test your app with the RC release. That’s why they make it available to developers…

Can not locate any JBL speaker. I realize this works for some ppl, but not me. Won’t connect with Pulse 2/3 or headphones. I can’t recommend this app. Consistently searches for devices right beside it. I followed all the instructions in app to the letter… nothing, just endless searching… I had this app before and it worked just fine, controlled the light features and sound just fine…. I started using my speakers again and reinstalled this app… and it does nothing.

No updates to firmware. My pulse 2 will no longer connect to Bluetooth in the house due to interference from other smart devices. Considering I haven't downloaded this app in years and the app is stating that the firmware on my speaker is up-to-date tells me that JBL doesn't care about maintaining their older products. So I have a Bluetooth speaker that can only work if their are no other smart devices in the vicinity.

Features not available. We bought a new JBL charge four with the intentions of being able to customize the base, sand sound, etc. just like it shows pictures for on the slide show of the App Store. However when I downloaded the app, my speaker connected to it and even offered a software update but I have zero controls to manage the speakers bass, mid, or treble like is advertised on the preview slides. Not sure if there is anything that JBL can do to help address this issue? Until then my rating stands.
