Exactly what I needed. I gave presentation today using PrompSmart Light and it was exactly what I needed. I put my iPad on the podium and it did its best following my speech and queuing me along the way. (I also used it to practice the speech.) What I like is that I spent almost zero time figuring it out. Grab my speech, paste it in. Press go. In practicing, I slowly evolved my speech and continually cut/pasted it in as I went. I also video taped my speech for a zoom meeting but wanted better video than my iPad front camera offers so I couldn’t use the Pro features had I had it. Actually I couldn’t use this tool at all for that purpose because I couldn’t figure out a good way to hold my iPad in the right place and had to use my desktop computer (and a lesser prompter program instead) for that work. Future features: I wrote my speech in Google Docs so I could share it for others to review. Though cut/paste was fine, it would be great if I could edit my speech in Google Docs and just have it show up in the prompter. I also wish I had a way for emphasizing text… I see that the pro has some features for that. I just wanted to put words in bold or italics or to space them out in the prompter to let me visually see the desired flow of the text. The lack of those features does not deter from the fact that this is a solid program that does what it does well. Thank you.

Doesn't do the one thing it advertises.... The app asks for permision to use the computers microphone and camera but it doesn't scroll when speaking. I've looked through all the settings and it appears pretty much every option requires a paid subscription.

Unable to determine if useful; Frustrating. I have been shopping for a teleprompter to use while recording videos on my iPad Pro. This may be a good app, but the limitations of the “lite” are so strict, that I couldn’t tell if it would work for what I needed. Seems like it may work, but I tried to use this app on the side and have my camera up, and the camera would start then stop. I think this may work if it’s a paid version, but their information and instructions are poor to know that. While I’m more than happy to spend $20 if it works, there’s no way to see that. Good concept, poor business model and understanding/implementation of UI/UX.

Well done App.. Bought this app to give some lectures and it worked very well. The voice recognition was flawless and the scrolling kept up even while being interrupted with questions. Will absolutely recommend to my colleagues.

Wow!!!. If you need to improve your speaking, eliminate verbal pauses. This app is a great help to make sure you sound articulated and well spoken.

Latest Updates Ruined app. I used to love this app. It’s most recent update has changed way to much. The layout, font, and overall user interface is now unusable. Not sure why they had to go and change a good thing but I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for this app. I will not be purchasing the full version.

Worked amazingly well!. If you are like me and have to give speeches, this app this perfect for you. The voice recognition worked surprisingly well even with background noise and even with different speaking pace the scrolling always kept pace. It is very easy to use. Great app!

Great app - watch bkgd noise though. In a quiet environment this app work amazingly well - like a magic trick. It did falter a couple times when the background environment got noisy. So, watch the noise around you - which is probably a good idea anyway if your recording and you’ll find this a terrific tool.

It work, kind of.. So I have attempted to use this app several times and it starts off ok then just stops auto scrolling. I have resorted to manual mode which is ok except if you want to add to any commentary then it just keeps on scrolling. Definitely not worth paying $20 for an app that can’t do its only task.

PromptSmart Lite Teleprompter can’t record. This app might be good but the Lite version does not let you record video (nor did I see audio). Looked like all the features were only in the Pro version. Simply it’s a waste of time to try the Lite version don’t bother. Developer should be more explicit as to what features are blocked/ enabled in the Lite and Pro versions.

"Voicetrack initialize" does not work on ipad pro 2018 and latestest IOS version. Tried loading a 2500 word script and after 15 mins, it never would voicetrack initialize. Deleted script and loaded new script that was cut down to 1/4 size and still would not initialize. Tried deleting app and reinstall then typing in a parapgraph, same problem, would not voicetrack initialize. Tried loading one more script that i would type in manually again but the lite version seems to have reached its limit? It simply prompted the Buy Pro popup screen. Would be nice to actually give the customer an opportunity to test the lite version.

Great, until it wasn’t. I picked up this app a few months ago, and it worked wonderfully. Easy to read, it followed my words intelligently, and I was able to quickly and easily upload my scripts. Unfortunately, all of a sudden it will no longer initialize my voice prompts, basically negating its primary function. I now need to manually advance the words - and that does not work. Hopefully, this is just a big and the next version will fix this bug. Do not get this APP, it does not work

Crashes. Would be a 4.5 star ‘cause it’s nearly perfect with a couple forgivable bugs, but what IS NOT forgivable is that every time I flip the phone horizontal, the app crashes.

Amazing accuracy. I used PromptSmartLite to give my father’s eulogy. I was amazed at how well the app was able to keep up with my voice despite the significant echo in the large church sanctuary. My first experience with this product was also one of the most important speeches I’ve given in my life; it was invaluable.

Just what I need. Looking to cut down the time it takes me to produce spokesperson and host video productions for clients and this app definitely is helping. I used to memorize all my lines which was awesome but definitely more time consuming and to be honest not all my projects are deserving of such dedication. Some just need to get done so I can move on and that’s when this TelePrompTer app comes with in. Awesome.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I have tried using this twice. The first time it worked well. I tried to use it again 10 mins later and it won't scroll or recognize my voice at all. I've been trying for an hour. Nothing about the environment has changed from the first to second time. TOTAL CRAP product. Glad I didn't purchase the Pro version since the tech is totally unreliable.

Great app - very intuitive and flawless functionality. I don’t usually review apps, but this turned out to be a life saver in my situation. I have never used a teleprompter app, and I am not sure I will ever need to again. I had a need to record a 10 minute speech on video and I am glad I chose this. Imported a transcript from Google Drive, placed my iPad Pro below my camera, and hit the play button. The app auto scrolled based on my speech without any issues even though I have a slight accent. When I needed to go back a few lines to do a re-take it was able to pick up where I was. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

background should be dark. the new version has a big design flaw. in the Standard Video Recording from the front preview will remain behind the text as you read. so if you are recording it is very hard to see the text as you see yourself and whatever the front camera records . i wish there was a way to make the background dark as in the past version as it is very hard to read the scrolling text now (2) in Selfie Mode from the front-facing camera you loose half the screen to the selfie .

The BEST tool for your videos!. This app lets you edit your scripts. It also advances only when you stay on script. If you start talking off script, the teleprompter stops advancing until it recognizes you are back on script. However it also allows for speech abbreviations such as "have not" spoken as "haven't " etc., without interpreting it as you going off script. If you want a professional tool for recording your videos this IT!

Works like a charm!. Was in a pinch and this app completely came through. Very happy.

Impressed. This is the best Teleprompter for an application I’ve ever seen and having voice recognition makes it a winner I would like to see the premium version have a one time fee and not be subscription-based

Major glitches. I really wanted to like this app, since it seems to work out of the box especially with the voice recognition scrolling. It worked for the first two sessions, but then it seems to choke quite a bit with long transcripts. But then, once it starts having errors, it’s almost impossible to make it work again even if you try to reset the application. Scrolling with voice recognition doesn’t work, and even manual screen doesn’t work. And then, it starts crashing. There’s some issues as well with toolbars appearing on the wrong side of the screen. The bottom line is that you cannot rely on this for critical presentations.

Does not work well enough. This just does recognize my voice well enough to have any practical use. It generally does, but that is not good enough! It either needs to work all the time, or it is useless. Possibly, if I could use a smaller font so that I could put more words on the screen at the same time, it might work. But that feature is only available in the full version. I have no problem buying the full version, but isn’t the point of a trial version to see if works before paying for the full version???? The developers either missed that basic point, or know that it won’t fix the problem, and hope some hapless idiot will buy it thinking it will.

Don’t Even Bother. I got this to use for my podcast. Ever since downloading it, it hasn’t worked properly once. It says it supposed to follow your voice and after the first or second paragraph it stops following it. It has not worked correctly one single time since downloading it.I spent more time starting over and doing retakes because of this app, I just gave up on it and went back to the app I was originally using. The unfortunate thing is that app doesn’t follow your voice but then again neither does this one. I’d give it zero stars if I could because it has been nothing but frustration and a waste of time! I actually was going to buy the paid version and decided not to. This app doesn’t even work properly so why would the pay version?

Does what I need. Pretty amazing how it follows right along with my voice. I will be using it for Sunday sermons. Thanks.

Great!. Works great but I think you should try to make it friendly with singers also

Freezes at voice initialization. I tried every import format and even just copy pasted but the voice initialization where it attempts to recognize your voice to the words is not operational. Why would you pay for a broken app.?

It’s almost perfect. It only needs 2 more things: 1.) The ability to make the entire screen smaller and then to position that anywhere on the iPad - so that my eyes scroll a minimal distance and therefore bareky noticeable on video. 2.) The text to speech scroll works pretty well, but it isn’t perfect... yet. When you say “umm” or even if you pause for a few seconds then it keeps scrolling for some reason. These aren’t deal breakers. It was a good purchase and the app will likely only improve over time.

Really wanted to like this app.... I really wanted to like this app, but it is not yet ready for ”primetime.” First, it us not compatible with bluetooth and most of us who do this kind of work for a living use bluetooth remotes, clickers, pageturners, etc. WiFi is unreliable when working remotely. Trust me. I am also concerned about the requirement for a wired mike for distances greater than 5’. Really? I don't know of any videographer or video podcaster that works that closely to the camera and, no, we don't use iPhones to record our talking heads, either. The voice recognition appears to be top rate, which is what attracted me to this app. Fix these other two issues and I'd be happy to pay $20 for the pro version. Oh, one last rant. There’s no way to contact the developers on their website. Otherwise I'd have submitted this feedback privately.

Very Cool App. This app is pretty interesting. As a middle school teacher who is putting together a weekly morning live stream for our student body, my student talents find it difficult to read off our current teleprompter because either the words are moving too fast (and the student who is working the teleprompter is not too proficient with the scrolling). In just playing around with this app for just a few minutes, I came to quickly realize that I can now repurpose my student’s teleprompting job to somewhere else that would benefit our production and let the app do all the work. The way the app moves from line to line is easy to follow and, if a line or a word is skipped, the app automatically adjusts. That’s pretty cool. I may consider purchasing the pro version to take advantage of the other features. Nice job!! Wonderful app!!

The demo is ok. Downloaded the lite version just to experiment with the voice activation. Seems to work fairly good. However, like most apps, to get the full features you have to purchase the $20 version. Well worth the prices for this kind of sophistication.

Great TelePrompTer for iPad 2. Easy to use and lines move up nicely in sync with speech into iPad microphone. Teleprompter quickly notes when you stop or go off script or restart a passage earlier. Great utility for marketing videos!

Technology we needed 25 years ago. This app is what I needed as a field photographer with our reporters... on a stand just next to the camera lens, we could do live shots and stand ups flawlessly. I’m thinking of upgrading to the pro version. for now, this works for what we need, I need!

Can’t get voice to work. I keep hearing how great this software is, so I downloaded the lite version to see if I wanted to pony up the $20 for the Pro version, but I can’t get the voice control to start for anything. I really wanted to like this over other non-voice activated ones that are pretty nice and easy to use, but it’s just not cutting it. I really wish they would give a fully functioning demo period to use the pro version to see if it works, but if this is the demo, it’s not cutting it.

Easy and wonderful. This app simply works, and works great. For me it’s a great tool for making instructional videos.

Helps Memorization Too!. As an actor this is super helpful. Sometimes it's hard to memorize lines when alone. I put my monologue on here and it follows along so the correct line is highlighted in case I need to take a peak. A great tool for your public speech if you need to memorize or not!

Works in Spanish. Downloaded because of curiosity. Tested the script and worked fine. Wrote something in Spanish and worked too.

Easy & Effective. I found and downloaded PromptSmart Lite just before I was going to do the Eulogy at my Mother’s funeral. I practiced with it once. I loved that you could also edit in app as I made multiple edits in the last hour and even at the funeral before I went on. The fact that it paused when I went off script allowed me to feel more comfortable with telling stories and giving good eye contact to the attendees. To download an app and use immediately, successfully, and easily for a critically significant event, like a Eulogy, is everything! Bravo PrmptSmart & Thank you!!!

As advertised. Works as advertised! For once an app that does what it says it will do!

Really effective and fun to use.. It tracks your voice very well and you can go fast or slow, I thought it would matter but it doesn't, it just works. A lot of settings like text size color help make it easy to use. It even has a bunch of other features like recording and mirroring text which might come in handy.

Good start. It definitely helped me record a quick video easily. It hung up a couple times otherwise I would have rated a 5.

Mmmm too lite for me. This app is a good option for your speeches, but in the lite only 1 script can be loaded, at least 3. I like the fact of connect to cloud drives (Google, Microsoft and more) but cannot open .pages files from Apple... if can open docs, pdfs, txts why not pages? When this feature comes, I will consider more this app.

I love this Teleprompter. This Teleprompter is awesome. I’ve tried others are having the voice control puts it above all others. It will stop when you stop and start again when you start. I am definitely upgrading to the pro version with all the extras. If you use a Teleprompter this is the one to get.

Nice app. I have only used a teleprompter, once, so not a great depth of knowledge, here, but this app seems to be delivering as promised. It keeps track of my pace well.

Fails when you need it most. I used this to give one of my speeches for school and oh boy did it disappoint. When I had finally spent hours rehearsing my speech and had fifteen minutes to record my final five minute speech it decided to completely malfunction on me. From not scrolling for the first five attempts it was infuriating. This app seems great but fails to execute so many times. It grew extremely irritating when I would have given the first three minutes of my speech perfectly only to have the app malfunction. I grew more and more desperate for it to work just one time through and time and time it would malfunction. It was because of the errors that I had to turn in my final speech with me scrolling on one part and then just when it seemed like I was in the clear it stopped scrolling and I had to go off memory for the last five sentences leading to me missing a few lines. I have tried to keep my response professional sounding but it was difficult considering how absolutely infuriating it was for the app to continuously malfunction. I am telling you if you are thinking about using this app for presentations to either start filming hours in advance or find an alternative.

Valuable tool. So excited about this app! My creative juices are flowing... Using it for text memorization, as I'm an actor. Also thinking of using it for a maid of honor speech in a few months. Yea free version!

Unable to get through first page. After buying and downloading it (twice) the first page only appear for 2 seconds and disappear. Do not waist your money!

Great public speaking tool. FInally found the public speaking aid I'd been dreaming of. This makes maintaining eye contact with the audience while not loosing your place so easy and gives your talk a much better feel. The ability to add in non-spoken commands to remind you of timings is a real plus. Want to remeber to move the slide forward halfway through that dramatic sentence? Simple, I just put and the right point. I'm reminded and the app simply skips it. Simple!

Has potential. Love the idea and the time saving you could achieve not having to continually adjust speed and add spaces etc with other TelePrompers but I could not get it to work for an entire script which makes it useless I hope the developers can fix this. If it worked as it should I’m sure I would rate it 5 stars and I would buy the pro version

Okay if you are not doing a recording or video. I thought the lite version, after reading reviews, would allow me to sample doing a basic video while using the prompter. No. Would be okay as something to do a speech from, if the audience don’t mind you looking at the screen the whole time! Not prepared to pay the not cheap price and find it doesn’t work so you lost a sale there. Sad. I had high hopes. The search continues.

Nice Idea, Doesn’t Work. Tried the lite version to test before buying the full featured version. Worked for about seven lines, then stopped. Maybe it doesn’t like commas? While a teleprompter that follows your voice to scroll line by line is a great idea, it has to work consistently to be useful, otherwise you are just better off with one that scrolls at a fixed rate.

Gettysburg address or nothing. You can’t load even 1 speech of your own to try. My use case would be lyrics so I sang the Gettysburg address and it lost my place twice. Maybe it would work better with a real song but I doubt it. If you download this, you will see how it works, kinda, but why you can’t see all the features applied to the Gettysburg Address suggests to me that the features are half baked and they don’t want to show you them before you buy. $27.99 CAN is more than this demo will convince me to spend.

Good product. Finally I can get through the narration for a video without flubbing it. Follow the suggestions they have, talk clearly and it works. To the developers....I would gladly pay $5 - $8 for the free version. You’ve got a good product.

It’s decent. If it works, it’s great. Some bugs but generally good concept.

Crippled. This is a crippled version of the pro app and is pretty useless overall.

Good but..... I really like this app. Especially the fact you can do cue cards instead. I like it so much I was going to upgrade to the pro version. $30 was a bit steep, then I saw that they want a monthly subscription over the $30 app. Seriously this is a perfect example of the greed in humanity. Screw off with trying to leach money out of our pockets on a monthly basis. I was about to pay for this way overpriced app but then that's not enough, you want more. Well you can forget it. Loose the subscription BS then I'd consider a 5 star rating. I'm sure sales would go up too. Love the voice tracking!. This is great app that works well with just a phone and a camera. The audio record feature is cool to and the Pro version will prompt AND record video. Perfect for video bloggers.

What am I missing?. I have the app on my M1 Max Macbook Pro. I load the premade Gettysburg Address script. I have scrolling set to "voicetrack" and my mic is active and allowed to be used by the app... yet it doesn't scroll. What am I missing?

Not satisfied. I get the promtlite and i was able to add only one text free! Then when i press on + i have no choice to get the pro version if i want to add more text!!:(

Works as advertised. This works great and as advertised. The fact that it listens to you speak and speech recognition technology allows it to automatically scroll at the pace of your reading makes it particularly useful. I even tried it with song lyrics, singing along with a recording playing over speakers and it worked pretty well, although it did lose its place a couple of times. I want to try it in my band with a dedicated mic to isolate my voice as much as possible. But this will work just fine for speeches and video podcasts. I’ll probably buy the pro version to get the extra features.

Seriously loving this game changer. I’ll be upgrading soon because this is pure gold. I’ve been reading all my scripts off paper which has meant everything is just that much slower. This is a total relief!

Promising but not there yet. Slightest sound disables the voice activated auto scroll.

Too easy to be effective!. This app far exceeds my expectations of a free version. I uploaded it and had my first video recorded in under 5 minutes. Works like a dream.

Can’t record videos. I don’t see the point of this app - the lite version doesn’t let you record videos. Why else is this useful? Am I missing something?

Can’t get it to work. I can’t get this app to work at all. Uploaded my script, hit record and it does nothing. No recording, no scrolling. Seems the lite version doesn’t work.

Unpredictable - Stops working suddenly. This app suddenly stops scrolling. I tried it several times and it stopped scrolling abruptly. Bad app which can harm your career if this issue leads to a horrible presentation.

So far so good!!. Just took it for a test run and so far I LOVE it. Trying the lite version before moving to the pro. I have loved just the little trial I have done. It kept my script running right with me and that's huge because I have been so frustrated with the others that I can never seem to get the right timing.

Used it at the pulpit in church - Did it's job perfectly.. I was a little hesitant about how well it would follow along since I was at a microphone instead of my house, but it followed along great! Never lost my place, and I was able to add much more emotion because I wasn't so nervous about getting lost (especially after a little improv here and there). Would have payed $5 for the lite version, just for the ability to auto scroll based on my speech. Will not be the last time I use it. (iPhone 6+, wouldn't go too much smaller than this).

Yes! This one ROCKs!. Easy setup, works very smoothly. Fit perfectly for what I needed in a 1 to 1 interview for FB.

Doesn’t Work. It stays on Voice Track initializing and never loads.

Needs to be updated for modern devices.. Does not work with any phone or device that has a notch.

Didn’t work. It would not scroll.

Don't buy this. Voice track does not work well, and the app can't control phone landscape switching. It's impossible to use with a 2 way glass Teleprompter. So far, DvPrompter is the best Ive used. Get that instead.

Doesn't scroll when speaking. Just sits there. Kinda worthless if it won'r do what it says it's supposed to.

Great program!. Just what I was looking for! It's very responsive and recognizes my voice 98% of the time. I'll be upgrading to the full version right after I finish this review!

Voice Sync Worked Great. Gave a talk in a school assembly hall, this app worked great, even with a little ad lib.

Solid app!. This thing just works. I downloaded it in order to give a speech at an event. To my own discredit, I downloaded it at the last possible minute and I could not find a place in the venue with a load of ambient noise to enable voice track,but that's on me and my poor preparation habits. Later, when I was in a quiet area, I enabled voice track to try it out and it worked perfectly. NOW I'll be ready when I need it again. Good job, developers!

I don’t get it. iPhone 8+, does not work in the least. Allowed mic access. Doesn’t scroll with the sample text, nor any test text you create. Bug..? Broken..? No idea, not for me.

Works flawlessly. I imported a Word document from Dropbox and pressed play. The teleprompter advanced as I read and paused when I paused.

WOW !. The biggest surprise was the ability to fully test the features almost completely in this free version. The only difference was if you want to use your iPhone or iPad to also record, then you need the Pro Version. That an the mirror feature for reflective pro teleprompter rigs. So yes - unlike the top competitor here - this app even lets you test voice control without paying extra. And it works like a champ. (Hint use your earbuds for lack of background noise interference, at least for a fair test ). This seems to be the one to go with.

Tele wow!. This is great. Followed along. And I was able to turn phone on its side. Needed for a eulogy. Worked great.

Love this. I had bit of a rehearsed speech to do on line for a few moments and this made it golden for me

Just Downloaded, Not Happy. I just purchased the lite version after getting a recommendation from Chalene Johnson for the Pro version. I wanted to test out the Lite first before spending $10 on the pro. The app won't even open to let me use it. As soon as I try to open it it closes out. I paid for this! I want a refund!

Su-wheet!. I have a presentation in the morning. This app just increased my confidence and my performance in a few easy steps. Within minutes, I loaded the script, practiced the voice-tracking feature, and was ready to go. A big winner for the procrastinators!

Highly Satisfied. Great interface and easy to use.

The BEST!. All other prompter apps rely on someone scrolling to keep up with the speaker's pace, or the speaker has to struggle to keep up with the default speed. Knot in the gut time with that. This voice activated prompter solves all that...and so easy to load in. Having walked away from using a prompter I am now back to using one for some recordings that require particular and precise wording. Thanks for this GIANT leap to comfort and success!!

Don’t Update. They took away the blue highlighted area in their new update. Most likely to get people to buy and subscribe to their PromptSmart Pro and PromptSmart Extended. Do NOT update if you’re enjoying how it works.

Out of the freakin’ box.... I thought this was going to be garbage. Two minutes into the app, the crazy thing was following my voice perfectly. Where has this been all my life? I can get old now and not need to memorize hours of script. Thank you! I am actually excited about some commercial shots now this week. Well worth 10 times the cost, not 11, I have to draw the line... but certainly 10! I will undoubtedly do a Youtube video about this as well. Just try it. Mike Williams

Auto-scroll?. The main feature that I wanted this for was the auto scroll. It simply didn’t work!

Disappointed. This app blows - completely useless. Don't waste your money.
