The app is-or was..great.. Hi! So I downloaded the app about a year or two ago and it is amazing! I ended up downloading it on my ipad as well and it has been awesome! (Btw it still works on my IPAD) 🤩 The only reason I have to give it four stars instead of five is because, It seems that I can’t open the app on my phone at all anymore. Let me explain more so it’s not confusing, 🫤. The app has been great and working for the past years but apparently this year or half into the past year it just stopped. I’ve tried what I could but I can’t open the app up by tapping on the widget on my home screen or going to the app itself. The widgets still show my pictures, but I haven’t been able to change them or edit them. But overall the experience I had before this issue was great! And I completely recommend! I also have some friends that use this app regularly and it seems to work for them! It might just be a user error, but if there is anything I can do to fix it I would appreciate it! It’s not like I’ll die if it doesn’t fix, it’s just sometimes annoying if I want a specific feel for my Home Screen/lock screen. But that’s really all I have to say, 🖤! So….. Alright so I have never written a review so please forgive me(anyways). So basically I have this thing called time limits and it’s when my parents limit me to be able to stay on for so long. (I only have 3 hours). And basically I can do this thing where I get one more minute. So I hit the button for one more minute to make more widgets quickly. I got through two widgets and on my third one my time went up. Not a big deal I just have to wait till the next day to do it. So I had everything planned out and how I wanted my screen to look. So I woke up and went to add the widget and it came up and it was completely blank. So I clicked on the widget and tried to change it to other widgets and some worked. But others didn’t. So I proceed do delete the app. I added it back and then I made some more widgets. And once again it came up blank. Again I clicked on the widget to change it to a differ t one and it said something around the lines of, “no options available after this.” So it didn’t let me put my new ones in. I loved the app when it worked but this is really difficult. I still haven’t gotten it to work. If there is anything I can do to fix it I NEED TO KNOW. I love this app and I want to be able to use it again. I don’t now if I did something to make it work this way. I also don’t know if it was because of my time limit or what. Don’t do what I did though. Either way other than what happened to me I would recommend the app. It’s super nice and really make my screen look super cute. Please send me back something or reply because I want to be able to fix it. Thanks.

Great app but some flaws. Just downloaded this after updating to ios 14, and I like it a lot! I have the free version and it’s honestly good enough for me. The only thing I have an issue with is choosing which photos to feature on the widget. I wanted to put two photo widgets on my home screen, one showcasing people photos and the other showing travel photos. However, I came to learn that you can only choose a set of pictures and the two widgets will shuffle through the same pictures. So basically, 2 widgets only use 1 album; you can’t use 2 separate albums. And there’s also another flaw, there’s no button that you can press so you can select to change your photos. It only pops up when you close the app and open it again, and then click on photos. It tells you which album the photos were selected from but you can’t change it unless the notification pops up asking if you want to change your selected photos.

Great just a few problems. I love the app so far. It’s been great and it’s pretty easy to figure out, especially with the FAQ and such but I do find the labels annoying since you can’t change them to at least say “quote” or something like that for whatever the widget is. I would also like for there to be at least 2 or 3 of the weather widgets that aren’t premium because I feel like that’s one of the things quite a few people will most likely want and not want to have to pay to be able to have it. I also would like to be able to link different things to it like a file or photo album, I feel like that would be a pretty cool feature to have (not just for premium members). Other than that the app gives you pretty good freedom for whatever you want to do with it and thus far doesn’t have any bugs or problems.

I love this app!. I don’t know why people are saying you can’t choose a custom photo, maybe it’s because it wasn’t available at the time or they were doing it wrong.. but I know it works for me! It’s the only app that works for me actually! The others don’t allow me to choose my own pictures for a specific widget, just put them all in and if it decides it wants to use that one then it will. Which is crap. This one allows me to choose the specific picture and size which is amazing! I also like the fact that we can choose other types of widgets from clocks, pictures, custom texts, and photos (all within the free version)! I only have one issue, you can’t add custom fonts. At least not the way I usually do it, I’ll try again and if it doesn’t work I won’t change my review. Hopefully this will be a feature added in the future.

Small Problem. Firstly the app is amazing. My phone is perfectly customized to my aesthetic and I couldn’t be happier with the look. Unfortunately I noticed that around the beginning of Nov (2020) the widgets aren’t updating correctly any more. My calendar would still say the previous date, or my moon cycle would not be up to date. I also noticed that they look slightly fuzzy or grainy when it’s not correct. The only way I can fix it is to change the calendar to a random widget, the click on the calendar again. But as of lately, it still is grainy. Then the next day it’s stuck to the old date again. When will a update be coming out to fix this? Because I don’t want to have to find a different app but I want all my widgets to be working properly. Please respond so I know these reviews actually do work. Hope to hear from you soon.

It may seem cool, but just another gimmick!. I just got this app, and by the looks of it, it looked SUPER simple… and the app was free. So right off the bat I was a little skeptical. I made my album and went to add the widget to my Homescreen ( I was just testing the different sizes). I had already noticed when making the album of my pictures, for the widget, it wanted me to upgrade to a SUBSCRIPTION to get more styles and cuter things. But once I had deleted the widget to try a different size, I was shocked to see that it wouldn’t let me add my album. It was still in the app, all my pictures, but it wouldn’t let me add another widget (EVEN THOUGH I DELETED THE FIRST WIDGET). So I assumed, from this and the earlier encounter making the widgets, that this app is another typical app. Wanting you to subscribe to a subscription for some widgets. I would not recommend this app unless you have the money (which I don’t, especially for a widget app). Some apps nowadays can be greedy. But who knows, I might not know anything about this company and what they do/did to run this company. Have a nice day.

Great widget app but.... This is honestly my favorite widget app to use for customizing my iPhone Home Screen after the new update.. but there is a little bug that’s pretty annoying. After I was done customizing my Home Screen I wanted to add a little extra widget just for fun. I did all the steps I did before, put the picture I wanted into a individual album, picked the album that I wanted to use on the Widgetsmith app and hit save. When I check how it looked like on the Home Screen, it was just the default gray widget (before adding anything). I tried to edit it and just re-select the picture I wanted but that didn’t work. I tried wit other pictures and some worked but others didn’t. I deleted that widget and made a new one. Still didn’t work. I delete the photo, uploaded it again to the Widgetsmith app and it still did not want to work. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Personal Customization on Point!. I’m here to give you guys a great rating, and to thank you for making my phone look so aesthetically pleasing. Although, I would like to make one request to the developers if this gets to their inbox. My phone looks near perfect, except I keep my Screen Time medium widget on my second page, and it’s stuck gray. I’m running an all B&W theme, (Daring, I know🥴); and would like to ask if you guys could add a Functioning Screen Time widget? Now, I understand if this would violate some policies you can or can’t forego by “looking into our phones for data”, but if this is possible, I wouldn’t doubt that me and many other users would appreciate it! Thanks again for being one of the first developers to hop on the Custom Widget train and making it so simple to do so. Hope this helps!

Great for customizations needs lifetime subscription. I’ve been using Widgetsmith for years now, and although some of what I use it for is now also built-in, I still can’t imagine not having it. I think it’s an essential app for the extra customization that a lot of people want but probably don’t know can be done 😊 Only complaint would be the subscription, I actually think it’s totally worth the cost, but personally I don’t like subscriptions for something that’s essentially just on my phone (as opposed to an ongoing service that has more obvious maintenance costs). I do understand development takes effort and so even though it’s just on my devices it is still a sort of service, but I’d much prefer a one-time purchase instead of an ongoing subscription, even if it’s equivalent to 2 or 3 years of the regular subscription price.

Good app but small problem. It’s a good app. I absolutely love this app. I’ve had it ever since the ios14 came out. I have one small little problem with this though. This morning all the widgets on my phone were perfectly fine and they’ve been showing up on my Home Screen, but later today they turned gray with lines over it and I tried to fix it and tried to make the widget picture I put in show up, but it just didn’t. I didn’t erase the app or the widgets because maybe I thought it was just a small glitch, so I just powered on and off my phone and tried again, but apparently the widgets of my choice of photo still didn’t show which made me very upset because without those widgets my Home Screen just doesn’t make sense and the day I rearranged my whole entire Home Screen it took me 4 hours. I googled my problem and it didn’t show anything of what I was going through, but I just wanted to let you guys know that. I also still as of right now, have those widgets up, but it’s just gray with gray lines over it and maybe I’m thinking it’s an iOS issue or something, but it’s been like this for a few hours now.

Mixed. i'm not sure about this app. I don't hate it but i don't love it. Obviously it makes my home screen look a lot better so that's nice. I like how you can pick your own pictures and it's pretty easy to work with. I Hate how under the pictures it says "Widgetsmith" so i wish that was gone cause it bugs me. I understand if it can't be removed but that's definitely one of my cons. I wish you could customize the way the apps look cause it looks weird when i have sunny pictures and i have an orange game sitting in the middle. To Developers: It would be great if you could make the apps have some sort of cover to make it go with a certain theme. Right now i'm thinking if i should download Themify cause it has this but i'm not sure yet. If you get this game and your looking for something to make the apps all look neon or something then don't get this cause it's just widgets but if you want pictures popped up around your home screen then this is a good app for you. Aubrey. I think that widget smith is a great app to use! I was having trouble trying to get themed widgets and then I added the app. It’s kind of funny because I downloaded the app like a week ago, and I already like it! 🤣 I would definitely say that the app gives my phone a lot of style and let’s me decorate it with things that I like, and it makes my phone seem more personalized to my liking. I also like to put funny stuff on my widgets because my friends and I like to joke around and we are just a funny/goofy group! That is pretty much all I have to say, but I definitely would rate the app a 5/5, and if I was out of ten I would rate it a 10/10 haha 😂. Alright thanks for reading this if ya did bc u probs just had you time wasted! JK JK I actually like the app no worries, and I definitely recommend downloading it!

A few things I’d like to be added. First, I know it’s important to have your name out there but it kinda destroys the aesthetic to not be able to remove the text under each widget. Second, I wanted to have a little zig zag pattern with apps with the background still flush, however, it does not offer a transparent widget and that would be very nice for a unique arrangement of apps like I had in mind. Instead I had to crop and edit my background to different places so it appeared transparent, but even then switching pages made it look a lot less clean and smooth. Third, I have a calendar widget that shows what I have for events and it’s awesome. However, clicking on it leads me to Widgetsmith instead of more calendar functions. I understand you want more exposure but it’s less user oriented that way. I’m not sure if that’s something you can fix but it would be a fantastic addition. Overall, I think it’s great for a pretty new app and update, but there’s always room for improvement so keep working hard!! Thank you!

Super great for organization, however... I love this app, It helps make my phone look all the more stylish, however I do have some complaints, but they are minor ones such as, When you have an event on the calendar widget, theres no special indicator for the day on the widget unless it’s happening today or tomorrow, also for the countdown I wish there was an option for it to automatically repeat after it completes, for example if you have one for when school ends, or when your work shift ends, you can just set it to the next day when its over which is fine, its a minor inconvenience. Finally is there a way to store more than one custom theme, or can you only store one and manually input another? Anyways other than those minor inconveniences this app is a 5/5, Its easy to use, Super convenient (minus those few things), You don’t need the subscription to enjoy the app, and it helps you add a bit more flair to your phone.

AWESOME APP! LISTEN TO THIS!!!!!. This is such a good app. You can add a little something to help, and you can also change the way it looks, make a theme! I used short cuts app for the apps, and this app adds awesome touches, I love yellow, song my whole IPAD yes iPad, you can use it on a phone and iPad! Anyway, it all yellow theme. I can add a weather to tell me the weather for each day. I can add calendars, I can even add a yellow or any photo with the date to I give my iPad more awesome adds! If you want some others, you can pay! But it’s optional. That’s only if u want just a little more! I also have a yellow Pinterest bored, so every hour a yellow Pinterest widget turn to a cute pic! This app is awesome and calms me when I look at it. But if you don’t like the cute aesthetic vibes. Just add a plain widget as a helpful thing! I REALLY recommend this app! And not only can u do yellow, u can have themes like a beach vibe! Or pink?! PLEASE get this app!!!! Ps. Sorry it so long, I just had to tell u about it!

Great, Almost!. Literally works perfect for me, I haven’t had any issues that the other comments are mentioning either. However, my one complaint is the photo album option. I have three photo widgets on my Home Screen, each with a different album containing only 3 pictures. I thought it would be really cool if they could sync up so I ordered the photos in a specific way in their albums, this is on an iPhone, and than I added the widgets to my Home Screen within seconds of each other. However, it didn’t match up, when I finally got 2 of them to, for some reason, the time they switched photos were different as well. It’s a bummer cause I thought it would be really cool, but oh well. What can you do? The app itself is great though, they have such colourful and customizable options!

Glitchy. I’ve had this app for a few years now, and it's really great! But recently, I’ve noticed that it’s been glitching out. Photo-stacked widgets will randomly duplicate the same picture or widget over and replace the other ones, even if you originally set one of the widgets to a different picture entirely. So, for example, I had 10 widgets stacked on top of each other. All the widgets had different pictures. One of them was a photo of a moon, but out of nowhere, the moon replaced almost all of the widgets; now, instead of 10 different photos, almost half of them are occupied by the moon. You have to manually change each widget back to its dedicated number. At first, I thought this was just a mistake or a problem with my phone, but even after fixing and changing the widgets, it did it again for the second time. It’s super annoying, and I think I’m going to move to a different app.

LOVE THIS APP. I was a bit confused on how to make widgets at first but once I got the hang of it it was really easy. There are so many good themes to choose from but I personally use the custom one. There are also many layouts and types of data you can add and customize and I love how easily and often it syncs with my calendar, reminders, pictures, weather and more. There is also a custom wallpaper maker which I tried out. The only things I don’t like about this app is that whenever I put a widget on my phone home screen, it says Widgetsmith under the widget instead of what I named it. I’m pretty sure that can’t really be fixed as it’s the name of the app. Also the weather widgets are a premium feature in case you were wondering. Overall, I think this is a really great app for anyone in need of amazing looking widgets and highly recommend over other widget apps. You might want look for app icons somewhere else though.

Good but not that great. Lacking in features will lack creativity. Personally i don’t know why they say they support png images when in reality they don’t, because it doesn’t work and they give us a solid color background when it should’ve been transparent. Talk about false advertisement. If they don’t step up their game, other websites that’s already making png icons and possibly png widgets are actually better than apps like these who give you the standard customization with limits. 🤷‍♂️ im really picky when it comes to any software and apps so hence why this review might sound stupid to make but hey if a customer isn’t really satisfied with results feedbacks are always welcomed. Anyways I hope they add png images like they said they “support”, anyways the app is good but like I said, limitations for ppl who do like advanced editing or like to do the extras… would have to figure out another way or wait.

love it!! just a couple things. I like this app a lot, I like that my screen looks nice and color-coordinated. What would help me a lot is if I didn’t have to make an album with one photo to get my photo widgets to work. I know a lot of people are having the same problem, it’s not a huge deal right now but it’s definitely a hassle and takes a bit of time. This is a little more picky but I think a lot of people would agree that a custom color option would be AMAZING. Some of the colors just don’t work with what I wanted on my screen, I had to adjust colors to the Widgetsmith colors and it took a very long time. The pinks are a little too salmon-y colored, and the pastel purple looks a little more blue than purple. I don’t know about the other colors since my goal for my Home Screen was pastel pinks, purples, and blues, but I wish I didn’t have to adjust to the Widgetsmith colors. I would also love if I can change the colors of some weather widgets instead of having those bright orange colors.

I THINK I FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION TO THE WIDGET PROBLEM. Hi all!! Just came here to say that I figured out why you can’t see the widget you made. First of all though, I love this app and it’s very fun to use. I do want to make a suggestion though: please an option to choose your own photo for a widget instead of having to choose an album! If I want a photo I end up having to make an individual album for it and it would be nice to be able to just pick the photo. Ok now to the solution. The possible reason why you can’t see the widget you made and perhaps it shows up blank is because you have to choose that widget. This is why it’s important to name your widgets. First you go to your Home Screen and hold to edit. Then you click the plus sign in the corner. Then you scroll all the way to the bottom and choose “Widgetsmith” then you choose between which widget you want to add. Say you made a small widget. Then you’d choose “small widgets”. If you made a big widget you’d choose “large widgets”. Then what should happen is it’ll take you back to the home screen and you can see a widget pop up. By default the earliest widget you made will show up. But don’t fret! Simply click on the widget and click on this button that shows up that says “widget” and it has the widget name that’s being shown right next to it. Click on this and then a list will pop up of all your small widgets and you can then choose the widget you want to present. I hope this fixes your problems!! Also to the developer: thank you so much for the hard work you’re putting in!!

Absolutely amazing, here’s a suggestion. Ok first off, i LOVEEE this app. It let me customize my phone amaziglyyy. I now have a hybrid phone which consists of My Hero Academia and Harry Potter 😅But anyways, onto the suggestion. I think you should be able to customize the shapes and sizes of widgets. I have one page that (if i could customize the size of a widget) would be perfect with another widget of Tsuyu! I’m just saying that we could benefit from you adding a customizable widget option for us to use becuase I feel like it would really make a difference with how our phones look. Anyways, if the creators of this game just so happen to see this comment and maybe even respond saying they’ll consider this type of widget I’d like them to know I think that if they added this they would gain more money and more good ratings for the game. Just sayin. 🤷🏾‍♀️ And one last thing, I feel like the medium widgets should be expanded vertically (at least a little bit) becuase i personally Can never fit any picture into it. It always cuts something off. Where as the small widget and the large widget always fit the whole image. These are just a few suggestions for the suggestion box, and if you’ve read all the way thank you :) I hope you consider these updates and hopefully we can see them in the near future! I know that programming is very VERY hard becuase I do coding myself so if we don’t see hear updates I don’t blame you 😅 I know how tough it is to meet everyone’s wants and I know you probably have a lot more suggestions other than mine. LOVE LOVE LOVE this app but... so basically what i’m trying to say is that i love this app and my whole phone is filled with the widgets but what if in the app you could move around the widgets so you could have it on the order you like because it’s kind of annoying deleting all of my other widgets just so i could have one in the order i like. i know this isn’t for everybody but it was just annoying to do that. also maybe not have the widgetsmith logo underneath the widget but i get it that it shows that widget is widgetsmith it’s just i feel like it sometimes doesn't need to be there because it ruins the widget by having the little “widgetsmith” underneath it. yes i know it’s not for everybody but maybe have an option to remove the little logo underneath widgets and have a feature so you could move the widgets around. hope this helped! xx

Love it but.... This app is genuinely so good like I swear it’s amazing for making your phone pretty and aesthetic without having to waste money. I mean of course there is a way you can spend money on the app it’s an option if you want to add more things, but it’s great if you don’t want to spend money and still want cute widgets. The one downfall is that sometimes the widgets that you want don’t show up when you try to change it. This is bad for me mainly im not sure about anyone else but I know it is for me. The reason I say that is because sometimes I don’t have time to wait 10 minutes for a widget to pop up. Today is the only exception and that’s because im going on a 12 hour car trip to cali. Other then that I can’t really have the time to wait. That’s my one complaint it’s simple but also very important for saving time.

Get this app. I’ve had this app for ages for the customization of my phone screen and I love it but I realize not everyone cares to the extent that I do about how their phone looks. However, the addition of interactive widgets, specifically the widget where you can set a grid of essentially buttons that perform actions, is an absolute game changer and something I think everyone could find critical use for. I use my phone to listen to music while driving, and with the action widget I have created basically a speed dial for my most frequently listened to stuff. No more opening and navigating Apple Music while driving! I can just pick up my phone, tap an icon, and the music of my choice starts. It’s amazing that this is free! I highly highly recommend it.

A request. I would like to change my apps without buying the premium because then u can use other apps to put in widgets and I might not use this one and, same for other people. But, that is a really hard request to accept so I’m not looking forward to get an actual answer but it would be great if this worked. Over all this is a great app and it’s very easy to insert the widgets without using the short cut app. For people who don’t now what the shortcut app is, it is an app you can install widgets and change the color of your apps, but it’s is pretty complicated to use so I recommend this app more. In consultation, this isn’t the best app you can find to customize your home screen, but it does an decent amount of work to make your Home Screen filled with things/people/characters/colors you like!

The end of a good thing…. I had been a user of the application since Apple released the update for widgets. However, after the last app update my widgets no longer work. My calendar has been stuck with the wrong date, my activity is reading from days previous, and on widgets that do not hold pertinent information, a black square is now present. I have reset my phone as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the application. At this time, none of the aforementioned items were rectified within my own hands. As such, I have to unfortunately uninstall the app completely from my phone. Hopefully, the app developer will see the issues and correct them. I loved the app when it was working appropriately and also recommended it to several others who are also experiencing the same issues. I will check back periodically for updated reviews from others to see if a resolution was reached.

An Awesome Find. So I had been looking for widget apps for a while because I wanted to organize and redo my iPad. I was looking at so many apps that were “free” to instal but costed money in the app. People mostly said that they just paid the money but I don’t want to pay money for just some widgets. But then I found widget smith. This app is so awesome. It does cost some money for the premium version but I got some really cute widgets out of this app. I just want simple bordered pictures or a widget with the time and that’s what I got! You can customize the theme with the color of the text the color of the background, and the color of the border! And they have a really good selection of colors too! If your just want simple, cute bordered pictures, then you should definitely get this app.

Really Good Widget App!!!. I was actually looking through the other comments and noticed that a lot of them gave lower ratings because they couldn't make an individual photo appear where they wanted it to, but if I'm being honest the only reason why that wouldn't work is because you didn't look carefully at the options they gave you. I made my home screen look exactly how I wanted it too and I didn't have to make any changes to my photos (create new albums) and it worked out perfectly fine. So I ask that if you are leaving a low star rated review you check back on the app and look through your options once more, and carefully I might add. Well, if you've read all the way through this comment I appreciate your dedication and ask that you give a good rating for the app because the creator worked really hard on this!

great but stopped working. I really love the app and have made multiple widgets that work really well and look very aesthetically pleasing. I love how customizable it is and how many options there are. When I was almost done making widgets, however, it stopped working. When I tried making photo widgets following the same exact process, the default grey thing appeared. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it and still hasn’t changed. The time widget and the calendar widget also stopped updating so it’s stuck on 4:34pm and won’t change. The calendar widget also thinks it’s still September 20. Hopefully you come out with a fix for this bug soon because I love the app and would like to fix it. If there is one thing I would change, I would wish that you can remove the “Widgetsmith” name from under every single widget.

I kind of like it, but it needs some work. I wanted to download things because peoples wallpaper thingy has cute stuff so I tried it out, but I was trying to change my photo thing and it came up with some ugly photos and they don’t even let you type the photos you want it from your photos and when you go to Widgetsmith thing cost money to buy something that really I don’t really like you have to pick Pinterest photo and it shows a cupcake and stuff like that. I didn’t really like and I was going for a tropical. Core and this is not very useful app, but this is kind of a waste of money and this is so embarrassing so when I was in Pinterest, I saw people with cute app pictures and they chose it until this girl said and reply to someone’s comment says. Widgetsmith. That’s where you can get the cute app so I tried to download it, but it was a waste of money. I don’t know why I download it but they really need some working. I don’t know how these people get those cute but I think it needs some little work and these people lied to me. Please make a new update, please! Because we can’t even customize our own apps this is not very useful so guys it works on iPad not iPhone or something. This is not very comfortable. It’s like a waste of money so they need some work.😅

great app!!. Ok so to be honest this app isn't the very best it could be, BUT I think this app is amazing not only because of the amount of versatility it offers as opposed to other third party apps, but in my opinion it's also the best. Yes sure there are a couple of features that could be better but what i really want to give a round of applause for is the commitment of the developer. Props to you I can see that you've been working so hard to get out new updates that fix all kinds of thing and constantly add new features. I see that every time I go into the app store there's another update and that shows just how committed you are to making this the best possible app. I can't skim over the fact that this is also the BEST 3rd party app for widgets right now so go ahead and download it, you won't be disappointed. I'm so excited to see the new things you bring to this app!!

Found the thing that doesn’t make the customized widget open. So basically I downloaded this app to customize my Home Screen after getting the new iOS14 but to my surprise every time I customize my widget and try to add it to my Home Screen it just won’t open and only opens up the standard, default one. I gave this app, at first, a one star review till I found the thing that won’t open up my customized widget. Now when you customize your widget and then save it, you’ll be brought back to the page where you pick between small, medium and large widget so you go to the one which you customize, you click on it and then you’ll see in the middle of the clock your customized widget but look closely on the surrounding areas (outside the clock) and you’ll see the standard, default widget there so you’ll click it and then delete it. After that you’ll get your customized widget! You’re welcome!

It's not bad! Not bad at all!. I've had this app downloaded for a few years and honestly I think it's pretty cool! I think that having certain things be locked behind a paywall is a bit stupid, especially considering if you know what your doing you can easily recreate the payed themes on your own but hey, I get it man, we gotta make money somehow! I personally just feel that it's a bit unnecessary! I mean y'all could totally implement a donations feature that encourages people to donate a few bucks to keep the app up n running! :D Also! And this is just a personal little thing, if it's possible I think it would be neat if you could add more then just the tinted color gradient widgest to your lock screen! Like- actual full color images! It could open up a whole little realm of lock screen theming that could be really cool! Especially with how little you can decorate it! Another neat thing I would love to see added is rotating widgets! Like you can select a bunch of images and every few minutes or hours or whatever the image will change to a random one that you selected! And thats kinda all I have to say, take it or leave it ! overall really great but the clocks are messed up. so i love this app and it makes my phone look so cool. i love how i can change up the whole aesthetic whenever i want and it’s super easy. the app is super simple to use and doesn’t take long before you get the hang of it. however i have one small problem with this app. i have friends all over the world and i like to know what time it is for them super easily and that’s one thing i love a lot about widgetsmith, you can add world clocks to your home screen and i can see what time it is for my friends. but recently it’s stopped working right. for a while i had four cities on the widget: Seoul, Dallas, London, and Orlando. i have a new friend who lives in a city in Singapore. as usual, i went into the app and removed dallas (i didn’t need it anymore) and then i added Singapore to the clock widget, and saved it. i know i did everything correctly, but when i went to my home screen, the only cities on the clock were Orlando London and Seoul. I tried it again with a different Singaporean city, and i didn’t work. then i tried it with a city in the same time zone as Singapore because the important part for me is just the time, but it still only showed the three cities. i tried it with every city i could think of, but the only one that would actually show up on the home screen was Dallas. it’s frustrating because it shouldn’t be that hard to make it work. so i figured it was just the widget itself. so i deleted that particular widget from the app and added a new clock BUT THE SAME PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING. so i tried switching up the theme and the time format but it still wasn’t working. i tried virtually everything i could think of but it just doesn’t work. please fix this all i want is to know what time it is for my friends😭

Great! Problem is..... So I downloaded this app yesterday and I was super excited! There was just one flaw to it (more like 2 flaws...). Every time I go to “choose photo”, it lags like crazy!!! And sometimes it will freeze and I’m scared that it will log me out of the app (but it never does). And the other thing is that, when I was ready to add the widget to my Home Screen, the Widgets were completely blank and grey! It was kinda disappointing because my friend has this and even showed me how it looked and it looked amazing, but when I tried it, nothing happened. Even when I would add it to the Home Screen, there was still nothing on it. Please fix this problem. I’m really looking forward to adding these widgets to my phone but I’m scared that it will still be blank when I try again. But other than what I just explained, it’s a great app! I fully recommend it. Please fix these problems app developer! (Can you pleased also fix the lag?)

Fantastic app!. I recommend this app for anyone who has an iPhone of an iPad. I think it’s a great way to make your phone or iPad your own. Custom Widgets So I can make widgets out of my own photos or even ones I find on the internet of like cute pets or something. I use Widgetsmith on my iPhone and it’s a great way to decorate your iPhone. I recommend this for anyone who wants to use there own photos as bubbles that pop up on your phone or iPad screen! Sizing The sizes on Widgetsmith are small, medium, and large. I personally like the small and medium because they can make a nice photo fit in. Most of my photos are from a distance so small widgets are great! The large are a bit big for me tho. So you can edit the widgets to have a print on them, but I still think it would be to big. Again this is a personal opinion. Like I said lots of my photos are taken from a distance so small and medium are for me! Is there anything really bad? No! Nothing is wrong with widgetsmith! I adore the cute outlines you can style your widgets with and all the formats! Widgetsmith is a great was to express yourself and I think it’s a good way to get to know someone just by looking at there widgets on there phone or iPad! In conclusion, I think Widgetsmith is a great was to style up your iPhone or iPad!

2 problems. If you are a creator reading this please make so you know what widgets are in use & what widgets are not, because I have a lot of widgets in use idk which ones where lost off the Home Screen, I would really like to get them back by seeing which ones are in use & which ones disappeared off my Home Screen when reorganizing widgets & apps, please if there is a way I can do this. 2 stars out of 5 because unlike color widgets it’s separated into 3 sizes instead of just picking the size you want it to be when you put it on your phone, so you have to keep deciding the sizes of your widgets, another star gone because you can’t combine widgets together to change pictures like in color widgets, I download two apps in 2021 for widgets because I have a lot of widgets I made cause I like to change widgets or themes sometimes for my phone, and another star gone because it does not give you access to certain other colors you want to have when you make a widget, it gives you a gradient instead.

Locking new functionality behind a subscription is very disappointing. Before the latest version, the things in the app that were locked behind a monthly subscription were either aesthetic (themes/fonts) or things that cost money on the server end (weather). Both completely reasonable, as they were intended to cover the actual costs of the service or were non-functional things that were just nice perks if you want to support the developer. With the iOS 17 update, the whole update is now behind the monthly subscription, meaning you don’t get to use any new features or functions unless you’re paying every month for the privilege. I’m sorry, I just think that’s completely unreasonable. A one-time IAP to unlock the new features would be completely fine—the developer deserves to be compensated for his work and I believe STRONGLY in supporting developers. But to pay every month just to access basic functionality (namely interactive widgets) that doesn’t require server-end costs simply isn’t reasonable, and I feel obligated to say that and review the app accordingly. Obviously the developer has the right to do as he pleases, but I also have the right to express my disappointment and frustration with his decision. It’s a shame, because this is a great app that had a really fantastic and fair monetization scheme before, and the developer is a pillar in the iOS development community. I just can’t justify paying a fee every month in perpetuity for these new features and it’s disappointing this is the route the app has gone down.

Can’t display time over a photo.. I want to give this app more stars. It’s wonderful in conception, and mostly really user-friendly. It totally upgraded my phone home pages, and circumvents Apple’s seeming-obsession with not allowing users to customize anything. However. There is absolutely no way to display the time over a photo, unless you also have the day and date displayed over that photo. I have one widget for day, one widget for date (both with photo backgrounds), and I want one widget for time. But the only way to have a widget display time is for it to have one of the widgetsmith backgrounds. Why??? This makes no sense to me. It’s not even an option to buy it, like the weather-over-photo widgets. It’s driving me nuts. I generally have no patience for depriving users of customizability, which is why I do like widgetsmith, but in this regard it is depriving me of the ability to customize and I can’t see any good reason why. Please add a time-over-photo widget. Absolutely would be 5 stars then.

Can’t exactly customize. So my friend uses this and says it’s good so that’s why I gave you some stars I personally haven’t used this because of what I will tell you. So the thing is I want this specific picture right but when I try to make it it only gives me a certain selection like favorites recents etc. but the problem is when I click it, it inserts a random photo from that category and that’s not what I want I want specific photos. I tried to go to the help settings but the videos are out dated the set up of the app it had is not the set up it is now and basically what I got from one of the videos is you can’t chose the picture it randomly choses for you. I want control over my pictures I mean the whole point is to be able to customize your widgets right? Also when I looked in the help section I found something that could help but these help instructions are outdated the set up isn’t the same I tried to follow the instructions but it said after going to default one scroll down to custom section but I scrolled there’s no custom section anymore. So If this is an option and I just don’t know or either you could make it an option that would be great! And if you could update the help instructions and videos that would also be great because if it is an option I would like to select certain photos and the instructions now can’t help because there outdated and it’s not well helping. So if you can help out here thank you!!

App with great potential but significant problems. This review is particularly for those looking to pay for the premium subscription. I decided to pay because I really wanted a weather widget to match my Home Screen aesthetic and this was the only customizable option I could find. At the beginning the only issue I had was that I wished when you clicked the widget it would take you to more detailed weather info, but I understood this is not a weather app so I was fine dealing with that. However, I started to notice that the weather is not accurate to my location. It is significantly off from my local weather and I made sure to double check in the app that I had the right location and settings selected. Because of this, I will be cancelling my subscription to the premium services and cannot recommend until the issue is fixed, but I will continue to use the non-premium version for the photo widgets.

Great app, just a few minor things. Overall this is a very nice app. There are a lot of good things about it, however there are a few minor problems. First off, I want to use a small widget for my school assignments (I usually use the reminders app for them) in the preview all of the text fits and looks very nice, but when I put it on my home screen it only displays 3 out of the 4 assignments that I have, but the 4th one is cut out. I wish that the version on the home screen looks the same as the preview. The battery widget also doesn’t have the battery percentage, which in my opinion kind of defeats the purpose of the widget in the first place. Sometimes there is a glitch when they are grey, but it goes away after a while. Sometimes when I put pictures there is a thin white line on the right side, so it looks strange. Overall, I like this app, but like most things there are a few small issues.

I think it’s good but needs some work. It seems like people mostly download this app for customizable pictures in their widgets. But sometimes it will turn grey. Also, as soon as I got the new update for this app, it won’t let me add any new widgets. For example when my homepage is in jingle mode and I click the + to add a new widget, I try to look up Widgetsmith but now however, it’s not there! So it won’t let me add new widgets. Also my widgets I already had all turned grey and when I hold down the widget to click on “edit widget” it’s not there anymore! So I can’t even change it at all. Also before I got the update the last few widgets I added were all grey and I couldn’t get the picture I wanted. It’s a really good app and concept but I feel like it also needs to have directions on how to use it and edit widgets on the homepage to change widgets. Also it has bugs that need to be fixed. :( (by the way could you please make it so we can customize the widgets name so it doesn’t just say Widgetsmith?)

A few glitches, but overall a great app.. I just got this app when I updated my phone to ios14 and I love to use this app to make my phone more unique! However, after a day or two of having set widgets on my homescreen, the widgets start to glitch. For example the "date" widget wont change the date for the next day and same with the "temperature" widget. Also, around the same time the other widgets start acting up, the widget that I use to showcase a picture/album gets blurry and also will not change. When I attempt to solve this issue the whole widget will glitch all together and will either show a grey or black screen and I have learned one of the only ways to solve this issue is by deleting all of my widgets + the app and redownloading to start fresh. Also this is a solution, it is very frustrating and annoying to have to completely restart my whole homescreen. I absolutely love this app and I feel that with a few updates and bug fixes, it will be even better than what it is now.

good app but needs some fixes. i know iOS 14 and this app is very new still, so i dont think its that bad as a new app. it could use some fixes though. first of all, you’re not able to pick your own photo for the photo option (you can only pick an album, and it picks a random photo from the album) i dont really like this feature since i had to make a bunch of albums for different photos i wanted. so if its possible, having an option to pick your own photo would be a great addition to the app. second of all, the widgets sometimes dont work. i got the app yesterday, and they were working perfectly fine at first. but now the widgets dont seem to show up? i put a widget on the home screen, but then it just shows up gray with nothing on it, and its been going on for the past few hours. this might just be a temporary glitch, but i would also suggest looking into that. overall, its a great app. im excited for whats to come and what new features could be added.

Good but bad. I was begging my mom to get it after I saw how you could customize your Home Screen even better. Me being a 53 year old I know what’s best for me so I got permission from my mom by yelling but the stairs. So I was having fun changing my Home Screen but then I seemed to have accident run over my ex, but that didn’t seem right Bc I have never been in a relationship and I’m still a virgin. Well after I realized I killed multiple people from a bus that somehow came into my possession I tried driving home but I couldn’t because I have never left my house Bc I can’t leave my fortnite game. As I started driving I realized that my phone wasent even here. What have I been doing all this time then. It was right there when I realized I love men. So after reading this just remember, if roses are red then the carpet is Jupiter and your garage door needs a new shovel. I hope this helped you with your decision on which potatoes to buy.

Works perfectly. I don’t how people are having problems it’s probably their phone that doesn’t work not the app. I got it two days ago and I was able to use all sizes and put any picture I want in there, and it never freezes or doesn’t let me click on it. I already made my phone look exactly how I imagined and it lets me stack the widgets together to make like a slide show. And all the people saying you need to make a separate album for each are wrong or probably confused. You just have to click on “photo” then look at the bottom of your screen and then tap on “selected photo”then it will let you choose your photo. I think the people you see using albums don’t know how to use the photo button. So yeah I love this app and it worked perfectly. If you see bad reviews ignore them until you tried it out for yourself because obviously it works for some people like me and all the other people online that have been posting videos on how to do it.☺️Have a good day.

Great!. Literally the only good free one i could find, you don’t need to pay to actually use it!! I don’t usually write reviews because i’m too lazy, but after much frustration of downloading widget apps only to be met with a paywall, I was excited to finally find a good one, highly recommend!! Of course there are premium subscriptions, but all the cool features are still available without one!! Highly recommend, all I wanted was a nice moon phase widget and it provided, 100 times better than the apple one!! You can create and customise your own widgets, super handy!

Great but big issue…. so I got this app about a year ago. Everything went great! The widgets were cute, but one day when I went to get my phone to call my brother, my whole screen started glitching and let it self in my phone and started pressing random apps aka my widgets but I wasn’t touching the screen. So turns out it made me get a bug… so a waist of a money. Maybe try to fix this.? Thanks!

The Best App. If your thinking about getting this app Do it, I recently got a iPhone and this app has helped me spice up my wallpaper. Every time I look at my wallpaper I smile because it has memory’s. It’s so fun to do in your free time if your bored. You can make matching wallpapers with your friends. This is why I gave it a 5/5! Great but some small bugs. This app is great, simple to use and very good in general. However I have noticed a few bugs here and there. When creating a photo widget with a black background there is a thin white line on the right side, this has been like it ever since I got the app (as soon as it was available with iOS 14). Sure hope these bugs will be fixed soon! Otherwise great app and highly recommend.

Offers alot for free! Needs a few bugs ironed out. Love the variety of different styles and functions of widgets, it offers alot more than most other free apps and has unique things too like countdown widgets :) but there are a few small issues, using the same example again the countdown timer isnt calculated correctly :/ specifically, september 19th is 70 days away (depending on timezone) but widget smith says its 63 days away for some reason? ive tried resetting a few things but no luck Still really sweet tho! I love the customisability :)

💛Aesthetic and Amazing. Ok.. I am one to love aesthetics and make it look amazing 🤩. At first I was like??? But after learning and messing around my IPad is so aesthetic and shows everything I want!!! Having the astronomy feature made me super excited for each day to check what the moon is like and when the sun will rise and set. It is super amazing and I haven’t even got any bugs yet so 5 stars ⭐️.

Needs touch ups. The app is creative it’s self but a few things need fixing. Please change the option of letting the app choose what picture we want from our camera roll and let us select it please , and I’m not sure if I’m the only one but once I use the app for a long period of time or make a few amounts of widgets the app crashes and won’t load any of the pictures I’ve chose for the widgets anymore. Please fix this , the app is really great but could be even better :)

IOS 14. Since IOS 4 came out this app was so useful to make my background colour coordinated, and just way more organised and more easy to use so overall love this app probably, it could be way more better if you could make all your widgets a little bit more organised so you can probably make groups that you want some widgets to go in there seperate groups. Widgets suddenly stopped working…. For some reason, after the update, the widgets I had set on my Home Screen have turned black and empty. I figured I could just re-add the widgets but when I search for Widgetsmith in my Home Screen widget setup, it’s not available! Really good but has some bugs. I really like this app because it helps to customise my Home Screen, but there is some bugs. One thing that happens to me is when I try to add a widget on my home screen it goes grey and doesn’t add the photo. It is really annoying because I can’t use it properly. Amazing. Omg! My friend has a phone and I have an iPad, the other day she showed me her really cute widgets and she said that you could only get them on phones! I was so annoyed. But then I found this app (Widgetsmith) and it’s easy to make cute widgets! The only bad thing is that the widgets only appear on the side of the Home Screen (which I don’t mind) but it would be better to have more placement option on an iPad! It is 100% free and easy to use! 🤗

one suggestion. I honestly love this app, especially the photo album selection but I just have one suggestion to this option? the photos change every 15 minutes or so but I would really love to be able to make that time shorter, like maybe a feature to change how long the pictures last for? Okay…. It is a good app but would like to see a lot more options as we only have things like text. It is very complicated to use. It’s not complicated but it has a lot to it so it does seem very complicated. It doesn’t really have much apart from Photos tips and countdowns in the not in the non-premium and thought they would be morewallpapers and different colour things apart from the full colours. I want to see different templates and things like that. Thank you.

Omg I’m obsessed. The app is actually really good it doesn’t restrict you to anything and you can go with whatever theme you like and that’s my favourite part! I love Kpop so I created a blush pink theme around it. It looks really lovely and it’s so cute, my friends give me so many compliments about how cute and or pretty it is. I’m super happy with what the app has turned out to be versus how I thought it was

so inconveinient and difficult to use. i do not reccomend this app. firstly, you have to figure it out yourself with no tutorial whatsoever, secondly, it almost never does what I want it to. you can’t pick a specific photo from an album and put a specific widget on the Home Screen, you just have to hope for the best.

Grey Blocks. The app itself is great, it’s just that when I downloaded it, everything was fine and I put in widgets, but the next day when I went to keep using the app, all of the widgets I put on my Home Screen were grey blocks. I tried updating the app, deleting and remaking the widgets, but they’re still just grey! It’s quite annoying to try and make your home screen look good with grey blocks where decorative photos are meant to be

A suggestion. I really love the customisation of Widgetsmith and that I can get my Home Screen looking awesome. However, I wish it was a bit more practical rather than just for aesthetics. For example, on the calendar, I would love for it to take me to my calendar when I click on the widget. And the clock to my alarms, and so forth. Just like how the standard ones that come with iPhone do.

Confusing but Does it’s Job. Widgetsmith for me was very confusing on how to make a widget with a photo attached to it at first but after about 10-15 minutes of tinkering I finally got it to work. Now I might sound like an idiot for this but I really think you should consider making a tutorial or something like that. Suggestion!. I love this!! Makes customising my Home Screen so much more fun and easy. I was hoping if you could add a transparent feature as a background for the widgets. Especially for the larger widgets it would really work well cause you will still be able to see the wallpaper. Great work on this app. I highly recommend!

Am I going insane or is there a bug?. Okay I’ve been happily paying for widgetsmith for FOREVER since it *was* a fantastic app to customise my phone with. No issues for the years I’ve been using it. However over the past few months, of which I’m still actively paying for, nothing that’s based on current time, UV index, weather, sunrise/sunset, sun paths, location, moon phases & star fields works. If it’s something that’s continuously changing, it does not work. Everything for me is stuck on the stats from Wed 6th. Of JANUARY. Why am I paying for something that has seemingly gone incredibly downhill?? Like how many more times do I have to remove & download the app again??? 99% of it doesn’t work and my patience has run out. This is so ridiculous, I want my money back 😭😭

I just love this app. It’s so simple, and great at explaining! I’ve been searching through different widget apps to figure out how to do it but none explained it well! I was actually able to successfully do it and learn because of this app. Not only that but it also has awesome selections and options! You should totally download. Continuing on, it lets you do all of this for free!! Yes you heard me, free. Not like those other apps that charge you so much money!

Very good but bug fix needed. The app has so many customizable options and its the best app to customize on an iphone so far! But one minor thing is that when I added all my widgets on my Home Screen and restarted my settings for another thing for my phone the next day all of a sudden all my widgets are blank with just black except for one and I tried every fixes I searched up but it doesn’t seem to work and I think it’s a bug in the app that is doing this. I just wanted to make a suggestion for a better improvement for this app and the reason why is because I was going through the reviews. 💡maybe remove the “widget-smith” name at the bottom of each widgets that has been added to the Home Screen. 💡more options like people can choose their own picture and a text in there as well. 💡less time consuming by allowing photos to turn into widgetsmith but go to the app in order to add it to home screen. Looks like the developer works hard. Widgets are elegant and much more customisable than alternative apps. Regular updates have also made the UI and feature set quite mature. Privacy policy promises no slurping of personal data, which makes me very happy. Upgraded previous rating after recent feature updates quashed remaining usability issues -home-screen widgets are still a brand new feature to iOS at time of writing, so this is a sign of active development/maintenance.

Absolutely Amazing. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone I know. I like how it looks and works, and it is really easy to figure out and customise once you get the hang of it. Even when swapping phones, all my widgets saved. It looks really nice, it doesn’t cost any money, truely a great app. Nice job!

Easy-to-use app, lots of free features. What was most important to me with this app was the lack of advertisment-bombarding and pro features. A lot of great fonts, themes and functions are available without paying or subscribing to anything. There are no annoying pop-ups that you would find in most apps, and the app layout is very simple, clear and useful. Looks like the developer has put in a lot of effort. Just a trivial thing, but if you want aesthetic or really pretty widgets this app is more functional than pretty. Great app, I really like it

Grey Box. Wow when I downloaded the app and was able to do all this I was amazed, you had the ability to do so much to your phone setup but I had one problem. I restarted my phone, I remade widgets, I made sure permission was granted and yet some not all of my widgets turned into a grey box and widgets that I have made recently even widgets that are default on calendar or such are also grey please help or fix this bug if it is a bug. THANKS!!!

AMAZING. I LOVE this app it makes my iPad or any device aesthetic and cute and you can take the photos from your photo album and make it a widget it’s so fun and all you have to do is follow the steps and it makes your iPad REALLY cute. What I think it could work on was if you don’t have to pay for like other stuff but it’s still a really good game 98% recommend In my opinion

Great customisation!. Well organised so you don't mix up stuff, and great possibilities. I was going to try and put in custom photos and text the apple way, no apps. But then all of a sudden google recommends some widget apps so i downloaded and made my dream lock and home screens. Thanks Widgetsmith, keep doing awesome stuff! 😃👍

Good app. Please READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE DOWNLOADING! Widgetsmith is a great app and I would recommend it for ages 10+ This is because it could be difficult for children to work out how to use it. A great addition to the app would be a tutorial on how to use it, as even I was stumped after downloading it. While there are many options to choose, an obvious one which isn’t added into the app yet and many people want it: a picture with customisable writing on top. This widget just MAKES SENSE and it is very annoying how it’s not added into the app! If these two problems were fixed, Widgetsmith would be a GREAT app and I’d recommend it for ANY age! :)

Problem with Clock option. It’s a very good app to customise my widgets however I’ve noticed that there is a problem worth the clock and date widget. They won’t update by themselves on my Home Screen but when I go in the app, it shows the correct time. The only way to have a temporarily correct reading is if I edit the widget to refresh it (on my home page). Please fix this soon. Other that, this is a nice app to manage your widgets.

Good alternative. Since iPhone is kinda new to this widget game, this provides further customisation which is nicer to have. I immediately replaced the stock date / clock widgets. My only wish is the small date widget has month in it as well instead of just day and date. Otherwise, big kudos to dev for making this nifty app. I’m looking forward to see how this will evolve in near future.

This is a great app! (Just please change one thing). I love this app so much and it lets me customise my Home Screen a lot. There’s just one thing I wish that they would have. If you want to have a reminder widget you can only choose a colour for your background; I’d love to be able to set my own reminder widget background with whatever photo I want. Apart from that this is a great app, highly recommend 😊

Perfect. I have had it for a while. It’s a great way to transform boring widgets into whatever you want! It’s really easy and you don’t even need to unlock everything for it to be enjoyable. All you have to do is pick the size and then you can decorate and transform it into whatever your heart desires. However heads up, if you want to use widgets for an easy access to an app then don’t use Widgetsmith. Since all the widgets from Widgetsmith come from the Widgetsmith app, if you press on a widget you’ll go to the Widgetsmith app. It’s not a problem because if you want an easy acces for an app just you apple shortcuts. I love this app and you should definitely buy it!! -Millie

Great!!! But one little thing…. Wow this app is so good it can give your phone a great make over but one little thing I wish they would add is a few more fonts because I was looking for a bubbly font and they are all very similar so I just went for the default over all 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just minor things. I’d always get blank screen with my widgets and I’d just get so frustrated because whatever I’d do it just wouldn’t work sometimes it would but half of the time it would I have to keep switching between photos to get my one up but sometimes it would just show up a black screen on my widget and I find it very frustrating because I might have just wasted my time doing all of this if all of it goes blank the next day as it said in previous reviews please fix this🥺

Luv it!. This is the best app ever, you can use it to make amazing widgets, there are so many good themes that are free you don’t even have to pay! Are use Shortcuts to change my app icons and widget Smith to add widgets that are the aesthetic that I like! It really makes my phone for a lot more like my phone! You can also use it on tablet/iPad, The only thing which some people won’t like is that when you get the widgets it says widget Smith underneath a widget but I don’t really mind! There’s three different sizes to make your widget, I love this app so much overall I think you should get it!

It’s so good but... It a really good app not like those fake paying versions of the widget apps, but there is a bug, when I try using the text for the (Lock Screen) It’s doesn’t appear it comes up with a line, nothing else, so I was wondering if you could fix it no trouble okay? Nice app. This app is great on how it helps you with the customization of your iPhone, however it does come with a few bugs or glitches. I have the medium widget on my home screen with a calendar on the right and a clock on the left, the clock’s hands sometimes freeze and stop moving, for instance the time was 11:30 for me but the clock’s hands were on 7:00. I really hope this gets fixed in future updates, hopefully very soon. Thank you for this great app

Good. This is a really good app but by accident I uninstalled it so I had to redo it all again but that s my fault but still I really like it

Hacked my accounts. Right after I downloaded this I got a message that most of my passwords had been compromised :( Thankfully I could change them before anything too bad happened but had to delete this. It’s such a shame because the app itself is great.

Lots of bugs need fixing. The picture widgets are blurry and won’t scroll through when an album is selected. Gets stuck on one picture and never changes. Calendar widget won’t sync with iPhone calendar when changes are made to the current day. When widgets are stacked together things stop working, like the google search bar won’t let you search anything or even click on anything. Love the look, but all these bugs are making this impractical to use. Once it’s working properly I will love it. May have to get rid of it for now for my sanity.

Best. Personally different things has happened to everyone like hacking or it just doesn’t work half of the time. But for me - PERFECT!❤️ It so much better then all the other widget apps you don’t have to pay to use the app and i got the hang of the app pretty easily. It’s a lot better then every other widgets apps.

Honestly one of the best apps I have!. It’s easy to use, there are video tutorials. Updated regularly to improve but not so much it’s annoying. Reasonable price I think, only thing I would ask is the option to pay the full year rather than monthly :)

Practically perfect. I don’t get all the bad reviews? Some said it didn’t work sometimes but I have been working on my iPhone home page for a while and it worked the whole time, I’m sure the devs will slowly make it work and less buggy for other phones (I have iPhone 7) A good update would be being able to upload images to every widget not just a photo one so like a calendar widget with your own photo for the background, over all 4.5 stars. Don’t forget the app because of the bad reviews try it out first! It might not work depending on your phone.

Stopped working. I had this app for years without any issues. Now it no longer works.

Glitch. Don’t get me wrong I love this app and I appreciate it it made my Home Screen beautiful! But when it shows up on my home screen on the right side of the widget there’s a white line and it’s triggering my ocd.

first timer. Got the app after the iOS14 update installed itself and brought its functions to my attention; the app becomes easy to use once you get the basics of it, does what I expected so that’s good. Would be nice if you could rename or hide the name ‘widgetsmith’ under the widgets, medium sized ones tend to have a weird white line on the right size of them, being able to crop photos in-app would also be good. Otherwise, it does what you want which is nice

Amazing app!! just a tiny issue with custom colors though. Get the app it’s so worth it, it has so many options even if you don’t have premium!!! The only problem I had was with the custom color selector, it’s hard to choose a specific color to match your wallpaper unless it’s the same color as one of the preset colors, and if you have a certain kind of gray then it’s impossible. The app would be SO much better if the custom selector had the option of entering RGB values, a hex number, or even just a wheel that you can adjust the brightness of! If you don’t plan to match your wallpaper, or if your wallpaper is just a basic black or white or other common color, definitely get the app, for those who don’t, wait until it gets updated.

Good app, but you need to fix a FEW of things…. Overall, Widgetsmith is a pretty good app. But, as all apps have, there are a few pretty annoying attributes. For example, nobody will want to pay to get weather on their widgets. Also, some of the themes that are cute are for premium only. Another pretty annoying thing is that when I create my default widget style, it never makes it the default. I always have to select the “default” option, which is all the way at the bottom. But, as this app has its downsides, it also has its upsides. I love that you can create gradient/ombré wallpapers, and the widget customization is phenomenal. Some apps that aren’t specifically designed for widgets (unlike this one) have horrible customization for widgets, but this one is good. Overall, this app is a pretty good app.

Great Idea ( I Think ? ). Ok I downloaded this app after seeing it on the Apple iOS App Store Today Home page . Seems like a great concept ... could possibly use some more features . I just don't like the subscription feature ... I don't like paying for app subscriptions and I try to avoid them at all costs . I feel like with iOS 14 introducing widgets to the system ... something like this app should have been included with iOS 14 and not a paid app from a third party developer . I think my review is more of a criticism of Apple than this app or developer . Hope the developer continues refining this app and possibly offers it for sale at a one time price point rather than subscription . I would guess Apple will be acquiring this developer or app and integrating it into iOS 14 in the future so I am not paying for it right now .

A MUST HAVE!. I absolutely love this app! Its great because it lets you make custom widgets by using your photos! Used to be better. I just changed phones and updated the app and boy do I wish I could undo. One of the two functions I used the app for I can’t find. I used to adore timed widgets. Where you could set a certain time for the widget to change. I know that they have albums now, which change about 15 minutes, but it would be nice to be able to make some photos occur at certain times of the day, or have one photo up for longer than another. For example, I used to be able to have a large widget change between 2 photos and a small one change between matching 5 photos where 2 small photos could match one big photo and the 3 other small photos could match the other big photo. Now it won’t synch like that. I will say it still works, no bugs. Photos show up when selected. It’s just disappointing when one of the only things I used this app for no longer shows up.

Not Very Intuitive. I downloaded Widgetsmith because I tried out the beta test for Widgeridoo, only to find out you can only create one widget in it before they wanted you to get the Pro version. I wanted to use Widgetsmith to create photo widgets on my homepage, but the problem I had was it didn’t let me choose an individual picture to display; it only let me choose one of my phone’s albums like the normal Photo widget that came with iOS 14, and it would cycle through all of the photos in the album. I tried to give Widgetsmith access to only certain photos, but when I did that it just cycled through the few photos I gave it access to. So, in order to get around this, I had to make individual albums on my phone for each photo. The app is okay otherwise and has some great customization features, but the Photo widgets didn’t work as I expected it to.

Lots of potential. I love this app, it's very simple and straightforward. Of course since Widgets are a new thing for iOS this app isn't going to be 100% amazing off the bat, but with time it could be. One recommendation I have would be to make the categories (small, medium, and large widgets) page in the app less cluttered. It's a hassle to scroll all the way down every time you want to make a new one. Another future update I'd like to see is being able to zoom in/crop pictures within the app instead of having to modify your original picture. And lastly, I think it would be cool to put a photo behind a calendar! The default colors are nice but it would be cool to customize the calendars a bit more.

Improvements. Love this app and how it made my home screen super beautiful and aesthetic. However, I noticed that they turn invisible at random times and it happens everyday. So the first improvement I suggest is to program the widgets to stay idle and shown once placed. Another improvement would be to hide the text underneath the widgets. I know they’re to show the app and what the app is called, however it ruins the aesthetic sometimes even if you sometimes just don’t notice it. If you add these two improvements, I believe this app would become super popular! You don’t have to take my advice but I would deeply appreciate it and so will others! Love it but I’ve been having problems. Overall I love this app! It makes my screen look so cool. I like how in the new update you can choose your own photos instead of having to use a album. Before I updated the app some of my widgets started to turn gray and when I put a photo in it wouldn’t show up. I did some research and then realized I should update the app. I updated the app with hopes that my widgets would show. But my photos didn’t show up. The widgets went from grey to black. I’m not sure if this is just a problem that I’m having with my phone or it’s a overall problem. I’ve tried restarting my phone but that didn’t work. I’m planning on redownloading the app but I’m not sure if the apps will save my widgets.

Very responsive developer! Great new features. I got this app when ios14 had just came out. Like other reviews said, it had some bugs and things that were not very intuitive. But when I was showing my boyfriend the app this week, I found that there was an update that fixed lots of common frustrations (you can now choose a photo instead of a photo album, custom colors for widgets, etc.). I’m pleasantly surprised that these changes were made so quickly and I’m looking forward to future updates. Thank you for listening to the reviews, I really appreciate it!! P.S. is it possible to remove “Widgetsmith” from under the widget in the home menu? Maybe replace it with some spaces? If that’s an ios14 problem, I totally get it though!

Love it!. I had some issues a few days ago with my widgets turning grey, but I redownloaded the app with the new update and it works great! I really only use it to add photos to my Home Screen, so I love that I can now pick a single photo to add rather than having to select an album. I also appreciate how the dev has been so vocal about the fact that he acknowledges the bugs and is working hard to fix them. This app really blew up quickly and everything is so new so the bugs are bound to happen, but one of the main reasons I didn’t give up on this app was because I saw his status updates; I’m so glad I gave it a second chance!

Does well ish needs fixing. It’s a good app and I have had the widgets on my Home Screen for about a year I believe however when I loaded up my phone today my large widget turned grey and would only allow me to add a certain picture and the same thing with my small widgets has happened today. I seen some other reviews talking about this issue as well and I’m disappointed that it seems to be a constant issue that is not being addressed and or fixed. PSA: none of my pictures are inappropriate in any way I don’t know if that would have an affect if they were but my digest seem to just not load and I don’t know why and the same thing just happened with another widget app so maybe it’s just these widgets-?

Good app but.... I would say this is the best app to customize your widgets compared to the other ones since we’ve had our IOS update but I had to take off a star for as a previous person stated that the widgets will turn gray with lines out of nowhere. I’ve restarted my phone and it still appears gray and even so on for days. It’s also happened to me twice and I had to delete and re-download the app and customize everything all over again. It’s honestly a pain especially if you’re taking a lot of time trying to make your phone look nice. The other minor thing I don’t like is how it says widgetsmith on the bottom. I’d like it better if it didn’t have any title/name under the box but that’s just a minor issue I don’t like personally and can deal with but my MAIN concern is the widgets turning gray. I don’t if this is a feature already, but can you allow videos for widgets? It would be cool to have a feature where if you hold on a widget, it plays like a boomerang, or something like that. Maybe you can allow 15 second videos in widgets? And they can repeat? Or include provided video widgets in your app that have looped videos of aesthetic things? I just think that that would be a cool option. I also know that you can’t remove the widgetsmith label underneath the widget because Apple requires it... hopefully they change this for widgets, but once they do, can you change this? Lastly, I was hoping that you can connect the calendar widget with a calendar app (specifically the one provided by Apple.) when I click on widgets, it just takes me back to the widget app, but is there a way where you can include a link between widgets and apps? Like how the shortcuts app makes shortcuts of custom apps? Other than that, I think that this is an amazing app. I love how aesthetic my app looks! Thank you!

Works fairly well, but the custom text doesn’t quite work.. I’ve had this app for several months now and haven’t had a problem with it until recently. I don’t know if this is due to an update, but the option for making a widget with custom text has a glitch. You have many options as for the font, however, the first four listed (System, Rounded, New York, and SF Mono) will ONLY show up at the very top of the widget. Even if what you type is more than one line, it shrinks the size of the font down to fit it all in one line at the top. This is very annoying and disappointing. If this can be fixed I would very much appreciate it. P.S. As far as I’ve noticed, this is only with the custom text option, so if you don’t plan on using it, I think it is a great app and quite useful. (That’s why I’m giving it four stars)

Flaws but so much potential to become better!! Love it but here are some of my annoyances. When I first got widget, when I wanted to add a widget it the screen turned gray. I had to google the problem and turns out I had to delete the app and redownload it in order to get the new upgrades. New upgrades are awesome but now all my widget won’t open and the photo quality/ quality on all the widgets are pixelated and not clear like when I just put them in. I don’t want to have to always have to delete the app and redownload it in order to have to update the app. So my complaints are the pixelated quality on the widgets and having to delete the app and re download it in order to get an updated version. Other than that the app is super great with just these little annoying factors

Absolutely amazing but... I give this Four Stars because, their are all sorts of widgets that you can use but the problem is some 'accessories'/ decoration for the widget, some of them are not there yet but the6 still show really makes me mad! i sometimes get confused if my internet is not working because i can't see some. My second problem is the 'Photos' this really shouldn't be a problem but.. when you're adjusting you're photo I can't get it at the right spot. You could maybe make all spots adjustable, it would make it more easier to put you're Photo in . My THIRD problem is that I can't find the Fonts that i need! This app really needs like more 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 it really makes it more pretty/cute for a girl! (I Would Be Very Happy If Some Of My Problems Were Fixed!)

Amazing App, Minor Issues. The app is amazing for customizing my home screen to my preferred aesthetic. They only thing the app lacks is more color swatches overall and a better system to select photos. The colors they already have are good but they are generally are deeper colors. It causes problems because the background, border, and font colors clash very often due to the limited choices. One of the great things about this app is adding your own photos to the home screen. However doing so proves difficult because it selects a photo at random from your photo album. Being able to tap into the photo album and select the picture yourself would be so much better. But the app is still amazing and the two issues seem easy to fix!!

Good but,,,. I love this app! my widgets are super cute and i love how cute my phone looks now. I decided to buy the full version for a year because it was pretty cheap per month and i wanted the weather and moon phase widget. However i was really disappointed that i couldnt customize the colors of the weather forecast widget. The grey theme works OK but i’d love it even more if we could customize this like how we can customize the others. Even the moon phase widget would be cool to customize if we could pick a background color. I also would love if the battery icon widget showed the % but that’s not a huge change. I didn’t have a problem with the pictures at all like other people said. Overall i’m satisfied but i feel like i’d be even more happy if they added these quick fixes

Amazing app but in-app purchases….. Hello! I’ve had this app on my phone for over a year, it works perfectly and is amazing. But I would love it if I could actually have the weather on one of my photos as a widget. Why can’t I you may ask? I don’t really feel like paying a monthly fee for an app, I much prefer just paying one time for a full version. I am BEGGING you to just make a full version of the app WITHOUT paying monthly. I will pay 3-10$ for the whole app but as a college student paying monthly is something I cannot do. I adore this app and would really like to be able to use all the features with a one time purchase, that is my only problem, otherwise this app works like a charm. Keep up the awesome work! Small issue. Hi, I have a a little problem with this app. I’ve seen many reviews like this but they all said that they have a grey screen. Mine is black. Let me just tell you the story. So I just got this app 2 days ago because I didn’t know there was an iOS 14 and I was shocked so I download the update. I also downloaded this app too. I was looking for a reference on safari while it was loading. I finished with my widget. The next morning, I wanted to change my picture so I took a picture and upload it to here but the screen is just black. I’ve tried it on many pictures but it’s still the same; and all pictures are brand new, fresh out of my camera roll. If you a creator of this widget app, please fix this issue. I really like this app overall. I think it’s really convenient so I kind of recommend this app.

If I could get this app 1000 I will give you 1000. Because honestly this app is the best for anyone that literally has an iPhone or iPad especially for kids because it’s for foreign class and you can literally customize it whenever you want it for me. I honestly think the people I gave it a low rating we’re just jealous because they couldn’t find any other apps I can do this cause they lied they said you can barely customize it and you can customize it as much as you want. I just kind of wish that you could takeoff the filter because I accidentally put a filter on my widgets and now I can’t take it off

App review. To be honest when I got the new iOS update and downloaded the app it was great ! But then I saw that my widgets started to turn grey with lines. I saw another person having the same problem and I did the same thing. I even deleted the app and it still does it. I’m kinda upset that the fact that I was super excited that my home screen finally looked decent instead of my apps being all over the place. But I refuse to leave this ugly gray squares on my home screen I hope this is a glitch or something. I am paying for the subscription so I expected some kind of great experience out of the app but I hope they fix this soon. If they don’t I’m canceling the subscription and deleting the app !!! But overall the app is okay i would recommend if you want something very typical and just your daily things you want to access or see the time, battery percentage, etc.

Worked great AT FIRST, but then.... I downloaded iOS 14 because I noticed everybody having widgets in their home screens and I thought it was the coolest thing! The set up itself was a bit difficult but the end result made it all worth it. I hadn’t touched anything with my widgets and now all of a sudden the widgets on my home screen are gray. I’ve looked up everything on how to fix it, and even restarted my phone but nothing was working. I’m debating on whether or not to delete the app and just start from scratch but I really don’t want to do that and shouldn’t have to. If you guys could fix this problem, and maybe add features to where we can actually select photos to be on our widget instead of having to create new albums just for the photos we want on the widget, this would greatly be appreciated!

great app but is definitely missing something!. I definitely love this app I use it all the time for my widgets but I definitely think there should be some system or something that allows you to group your widgets. I do a lot of phone themes and I think if you could group all the widgets you use for that phone theme, it would really help if you do it again a few weeks, months or years later because then if you wanna do that phone theme it’s there for you to use and you won’t have a tough time finding it. Again this app is great and I really do enjoy it but I just think if you could group widgets of all kind it would definitely help with doing phone themes⭐️!!

I really like the app but there are some things I need to talk about.... I love the app and it works really well. But I’m always having problems with two widgets which if I add them to my Home Screen are gray. I have tried everything that I could think of, I turned of my phone, I deleted and re-added the widget, I just tried to see if my widgets in general work (they did), I tried it with a different picture, I tried just letting my phone sit to see if they would load. But nothing worked! I don’t know what to do!?! I also had this problem before and I fixed it by just turning of my phone but that won’t work. The app is still really great and it worked for all my other widgets but now just for those two it won’t work:(

Room for improvement. Would be nice to have the option to remove the Widgetsmith label at the bottom of the widget($) for a cleaner look on screen. It would also be nice to be able to align any of the date and time texts to however you would like for it to be aligned instead of limiting the options of moving it in fixed predetermined positions only. It would also be nice to have a middle and centered stacked option for time, day, and date available and be able to resize the texts of those. The thing you guys should be charging for is to include temperature with that. I think this developers app is missing the mark where custom functionality meets custom luxury. So there is room for improvement. Hopefully you read these reviews.

Only medium sized widget with a multi day forecast widget I can find. My kid loves Widgetsmith because they are on TikTok and uses it to make their iPhone screens look really cool. I finally checked it out too and paid the subscription fee because it’s the only app that I could find that has a medium-sized widget that displays a multi day forecast. I don’t give a hoot about an hour by hour forecast. I don’t understand why all the weather widgets only offer that forecast for medium sized widgets. I also don’t want to devote an entire large widget to the weather. Also, as a photographer and a person who lives right by the beach, I use the high/low tide and sunset/sunrise widgets a lot. Thanks for this handy tool!

Amazing so far, but.... I strongly recommend this app to anyone who wants to redesign their phone and widgets. I have found it to be really cool and really helpful. I only really have one note, and that is to do with the calendar. I don’t really know why, but when I type in the time that I want to add an event to, it continues to change the hour. I found a way to fix it, but for the devs, I think it might be something to try to fix. Essentially what was happening is that it was “correcting” the time that I have set in Eastern Standard Time and moving it by about four hours (usually). I managed to fix it by entering the times again, but it is something that you may want to take a look at. Otherwise, the app is really good and I’ve found it to be super helpful. Thank you devs for getting this together for us. It’s already awesome!

calendar widget just doesn't work. I cannot get the calendar widgets to stay in sync with my google calendar. Events I add via g-cal just never show up, or take 12+ hours to appear. Also had a weird issue where I turned off "show all day events," but the widget kept showing them. Similar issue with reminders, the widget room forever to reflect changes or didn't change at all. I tried deleting and remaking the widgets, adding and removing calendars, restarted the phone, all that jazz, it never got less buggy. Since upcoming events and reminders were my main reason for downloading this app (the aesthetic tools were a close second!) I'm gonna delete it. The built in google calendar widget is ugly but at least it works. If this issue gets fixed I'd definitely try widgetsmith again though because I did like how the widgets looked.

Cool idea but it’s glitching. 1. Everything goes well until I try to add the widget to my Home Screen. When I add a widget and even when I press “edit widget” and select the widget I want, it’s just grayed out. It used to work but it just stopped working and the picture doesn’t show up. I’ve restarted my phone multiple times and everything. What do I do?? 2. And for everyone who is mad that it chooses a random photo from the album, what you need to do is go into the photos app and press “add to album” and then create a new album and label it the description of the photo. For each pic u want on a widget, make a new album and name it. Hope that helped! 3. So yeah, if whoever made this app sees this, can you either fix the grayed out bug or tell me what I can do to fix it myself (because other people don’t seem to be having this problem)

widgetsmith watermark. the app overall is great and i used it for every device i had and it was really easy to navigate through so the problem starts now, which is when I got a new phone and I decided to use Widgetsmith to decorate my phone when I setup the widget and stuff, I’m importing the widget onto my he homescreen and it looks wonderful but then I noticed that there is a text under like the widget that says “Widgetsmith” and that like just kind of ruins the whole aesthetic and like the whole vibe i created for my phone. so now i’m searching for another widget app that doesnt have this problem. sorry if i sound selfish or rude but having a watermark for a widget is ridiculous and im genuinely upset that i have to ditch the app o used to decorate my phone the most.

I hope to see more growth!. I’ve enjoyed seeing my home screen transform into the aesthetic of my dreams with the help of this app! My favorite aspect has to be having a visual of the moon phases and being able to place photos of any size all over my screen. Incredible. However, and that’s just a medium sized however, I’m not sure if my $20 yearly membership is justified. For reference, the app Facetune yearly is about double and does a hecc lot more. For that reason, I took off a star but I understand they’re still in development so I’m expecting greatness to come! Note to the developers: for the large temperature widget, the color is this b l i n d i n g neon yellow that wildly shakes off my phone’s warm neutrals and earth tones so color customization options would be helpful there, thanks 🖤

LOVEEE. This is quite literally the best Home Screen edit app ever and I’m so serious. It’s so simple but can do so much. A feature I would absolutely love is if the widgets could have the name taken off (the “Widgetsmith” under the widget” for a more smooth look. There’s apps that have that feature but don’t have the versatility of this app so I can’t really do anything with those. If that feature was on this app, I would literally only need this app for my Home Screen stuff. Also, more fonts would be cool. Idk what it’s called but that long list of fonts that some apps have that’s labeled a - z and you can save your favorites and use them every where that feature is at. That would be great. Other than that, amazing app :)

It’s amazing (free version review). I have the free version of the app and use it to keep track of key events, the countdown photo is my favorite widget, just one corner of my Home Screen that can be swapped to show me how long until my next event. My current events/countdowns: birthday, the future (a place holder for when I don’t have anything to count down to so it counts down to 60 years after I downloaded the app), my next test, release of the final season of my favorite show, concert, when summer semester starts, me and my gf’s anniversary. All in all this app is great and I recommend, I mainly use the countdown widget but all their widgets have come in handy.

Just One Problem. This app is great and easy to use. But there is one problem I keep having. There is a new trend going around where you customize your home screen using widgets and app icons. You put your favorite tv show, or movie characters, or anything you want you basically make it yours. But say im trying to have a black wallpaper in the background and my widget also happens to have a black background. Every time I try to put the widget down it works but there is a little white line on the right of the widget that to me is very distracting if your trying to make a cool design using all black. Its an easy bug fix thats really frustrating and should be looked at. I even try to crop the photo several times which does absolutely nothing.

Amazing until a few days ago when a bug showed up. This app was amazing and worked pretty much flawlessly, except for some little things that have already been mentioned in the comments. But, yesterday, when I opened my phone I noticed that all the custom text on those specific widgets has been enlarged, so instead of having one word in the center, half of the word is in the center and the other half is a row beneath, or, the word is in the bottom row. This has been a problem for me since it ruins the aesthetic I used to have on my phone and I have many custom text widgets. I really hope this will be fixed soon because this has been my only serious problem with the app.

Great App!. I personally love having widgets on my screen to fit my aesthetic, and widgetsmith is definitely one of my favorites. It works great for me, and I haven't had a problem with it at all. I do have a few suggestions of things I would love to have included with this app. For example, an option for photos on the time widgets, more shades of colors to pick easily (the custom color thing is tricky), transparent widgets, and (if it's possible) have a way to remove the word under the widget. It would fit better with people's aesthetic, and just have the screen appear more clear and organized. This app is super simple, and I would definitely recommend it to people!

pretty good. this is one of the few apps where you can actually do a lot on it without having to pay — a few things you can’t do without paying like put weather stuff on there (but there’s a weather app widget for any apple phone) and tides (i live in inland texas so i’m not terribly worried about that 😂) so overall it’s pretty good. it is a little hard to figure out how to use at first, but once you get used to it, it’s really efficient. one of the only minor things i would change is that in order to put a picture in with a certain size (like putting a logo or smth) in a picture widget, you have to edit the size of the actual picture to get it to work correctly. like if you just put in a function where you could zoom in to resize in the widgetsmith app, it would be a lot faster. tl;dr i really only put this as a four-star app because 1) i don’t like giving five stars ever lol 2) the picture thing and 3) i just don’t like payed apps (though, yes, i know that companies have to support themselves). other than those three facts, i’m very satisfied and would give it a five-star recommendation.

What I think. I love widgetsmith! it is super fun and makes my screen really nice. there are a few problems though. 1. i don’t know if i’m the only one experiencing this, but lately the app has been. really. really. realllly. slow. not always or with every feature, but whenever i try to make a custom design or theme, it suddenly gets really slow and takes forever to load my click. i don’t know why, it might just be that i have an iphone 6s so it’s outdated, but who knows. 2. “widgetsmith premium” like, what?!? what if i want a weather widget without paying money?! seriously? that’s just a smidge to far in my opinion. but besides that, i think the app is a great help and i love it! 😃😃😃

Whyyyyyy. So everyone is downloading this app and making their phones look so good. So I downloaded it and it froze my phone completely I had to force restart it. My friend who are using it are loving it, it’s working perfect for them. I realized that my phone wasn’t charging while on charge when I had the app and I didn’t think anything of it, I had like 6 maybe 7 widgets made and my phone froze I couldn’t click on anything. I force restarted it, and I thought maybe I had to many widgets. So ire downloaded it and used two or three widgets it did the same thing. It stopped charging so I deleted the app and the widgets before my phone froze. Then I seen someone have 16 widgets and their phone work fine. I’m so confused I want to use this app so bad but it just won’t work on my phone. I have a new iPhone 11, I’ve only had this phone for 2 months, so I don’t see why it’s not working. Can someone pls help me!!

Works perfectly but a few annoyances. I use this app for custom photos on my widgets, and it works perfectly. There’s no limit to the number of widgets I can make, and I can also create widget stacks with my photos. However, one thing that constantly annoys me is that if you want to use a specific photo, you have to create a whole new album in your photos app to use it, since Widgetsmith doesn’t have the option to select a specific photo, only a specific album. It would be really great to be able to select specific photos. I also love the other widget options, such as the sunset and stars widgets, but it would be even better if there was more customization involved. For example, you’re limited to certain colors for the widgets, and for the blank widget option, it would be cool to be able to add your own text if wanted. Otherwise, this is one of the best widget apps out there, and there’s so much you can do!! Update: they added new features!!!! Thank you so much this app has been a lifechanger

I love this app so much but it could use a few features💗. I’ve been using widgets since they first launched, and out of all the apps I’ve tried I’d say by far this is the best one. So now you might be asking yourself, “well why don’t you rate it five stars then?” The reason this app hasn’t earned the five stars in my opinion is, because there is a few features that I believe they should add. Particularly, if possible I think they should add live widgets. Basically it works like a like photo on your Home Screen. They should also add the ability to add your own personalized audio in the audio options by uploading a file for it. But other than that, this app is absolutely wonderful, and I would recommend it to beginners and experienced people alike.

Works but not always. So I got this app when iOS 14 came out and it was very easy to use, was able to customize everything how I liked it. Loved that the new update came with more colors and ability to choose a single image rather than an album. However, a few days in, some of the widgets stopped updating the time and the calendar doesn’t update the day. At first I would restart my phone and it would update, but now even that stopped working. I tried removing the widget from my screen and putting it back but it just shows up like a gray square. Now I can’t add any new widgets at all, they all show up as gray squares. The picture ones and reminders still work and I’m scared to touch them so they also don’t turn into grey squares. I don’t know if it’s just a glitch for me or not, but please fix this.

A wonderful app that gets the job done, but has a few hiccups.. I appreciate this app and how many options it gives me, as well as making it doable and easy. Unfortunately however, I ran into 2 problems. One minor problem is that the name “Widgetsmith” is under each widget. I understand that the company wants their name out there but I would greatly appreciate it if that could go away. A bigger issue I have though is how my widgets will sometimes disappear for no reason. What I mean by this, is that a specific picture in my widget out of the 10 will be gone and it’ll just show the image icon. I never deleted the photo, nor the album, nor the actual widget in the app. I believe this is a glitch unfortunately and I hope it gets fixed soon.

Love the app but little issue. I would give this app 5/5 stars, though there is a small issue I have. Not with the app but when you show the wanted images on your screen, there is a little text under it that says “Widgetsmith”. Now idk about anyone else’s by my home screen theme revolves around “undertale” which is a game entirely of pixels and every time I look at my Home Screen- it bothers me that the text is just out of place from the entire theme I’m going with. I know some other people who also don’t like the fact that the text is always there. Could there be at least a option to not have the Widgetsmith text there or just certain colors so whenever someone doesn’t want it- they can change it to a similar color that matches?

Troubling for beginners. So, its cool, and i think there is a-lot of creativity involved in this app, and i like that, although personally i dont think its beginner friendly, like someone who is a beginner, wanting to customize their phone, downloads this app, and they are confused and are struggling with making the widgets and phone custom theme they want, i think there should be a thing where people can upload their widget/theme presets on like a little catalog and people can use them for free, like setting a wallpaper almost, but with widgets, i think it will help younger users who are confused, and beginners too, considering i am a beginner with Widgetsmith and i am currently struggling with the app at this time of writing my review.(July 14th 2023) and no tutorials have helped me at all.

Amazing app. placement is off. I would like to start off with I really like the app. its truly great for customizing your home screen and for making it aesthetically pleasing. Great fonts and colors, also love how in customization you can choose your pictures with or without words (like either whatever you want or the date and time stuff like that) like you can also just type whatever you want and still make it aesthetic. The guy only small little problem is that sometimes (usually with the medium size for me) a little bit of the widget is cut off. like if cuts off the border at the bottom. it kinda looks like if you just moved the image or whatever down a little
