Only 1 star because it’s not possible to give no stars and leave a review.. Completely and utterly useless. Following the instructions on the app does. It result in a connection. Just purchased new Felxwash and Flexdry machines. Downloaded the Samsung app for the washer and dryer only to get, “The password is not correct”. So then I saw this app. I though, “Ok, maybe I just need the updated app.” Download, instructions say, “Press Smart Monitor button until AP appears”. AP never appears but there is a small WiFi symbol. Ok, let’s try that. I connect using the stated, “Five 1’s and five 2’s” password. It connected to the WiFi signal! Great! Return to the app and press, “Next” and get, “Please connect to washer access point.” Same thing with the dryer except the dryer access point does NOT say, “Samsung Dryer” but it also shows, “[washer] Samsung” Fix the app or remove the advertising for connectivity. As far as I’m concerned, it’s false advertising to say the machine will connect to WiFi. Of course, should I decide to switch to a Samsung mobile device, I’m sure it would be a snap to connect. Very disappointed.

CRASHES!!!!!. Have been using app this app for a while on iPhone 7 128gb with no issues. New update only crashes while it tries to connect to the server. Reinstalled and have reset my phone...nothing fixes it. FIX THE APP...already a bad app...worse because it crashes. Update: had to replace R7070 so trying to reconnect the the server now fails. Have tried 10 times with 2 different phones. iPhone 7. iOS 11.0.1. Please fix this. Can only get the vac to use WiFi, but attempts to connect to server always fails. Update 12/3 Cannot even get in to setup the device because of failure to connect to server. This is the biggest POS app ever!!!!! Update the app update released on 12/13 supporting iOS 11 had fixed the ability to connect to devices. I will change to 2 stars only because it works now. Samsung as a developer has access to early iOS updates back in early summer. You should have know about these issues long ago. Get it together! This is the reason I stopped buying anything made by Samsung.

Needs an update ASAP. Their flex refrigerators with touch screen and washer dryer cost too much not to be able to connect them properly!!!! I had to reset my refrigerator and now I can’t even put my information back like I had it because the app is a piece of sh..!! To think 🤔 I was thinking of purchasing a new flex refrigerator with touch screen for our basement kitchen. Now that is up for debate with my husband saying no more Samsung refrigerators are coming in our house! Another thing to watch out for people is, (If you bought a almost $5,000 refrigerator from Samsung and purchased the extended warranty, make sure you put it with your birth certificate so that you will always know where it is. Even though you are in their system that you bought the extended warranty they will not come out unless you have the original information!!!! REALLY! 😮 ) Now,I wish, I would have never bought my WASHER, DRYER, TV or REFRIGERATOR from them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible app. If I could give this zero stars, I would. One of the big reasons I bought the Flex washer/dryer was for the app control and notifications. But it only worked for about a week. I have had the units about a month and the app just decided to stop working. It hangs and tells me "connecting to server". I finally got it to tell me my login had expired. But it doesn't let me login again. Just continues hanging at "connecting to server". I know the washer and dryer are connected. Because the wifi button is lit up. Really horrible product from a company that should be on the cutting edge of tech. I'm an Apple die-hard. And this app proves why. I will never buy Samsung phones etc. My other washer/dryer is an LG and the app works perfectly.

Garbage app. I have a Samsung robot vacuum and a Samsung WF6500 washer both are supposed to have wifi capability. I have tried on a repeating basis to get the various samsung apps to work. I tried Smart Home, Smart Things and the Smart Washer apps, all with the same results, they don’t work. If you can ever get them to connect and complete the setup (which is rare), the first time you close and reopen the app, both devices are disconnected and have to be reset. Everything about the Samsung apps stink! The appliances are great, but the Samsung wifi feature is terrible. If you want an appliance with wifi feature, do not buy Samsung. I imagine their smart home line of products is likewise terrible. In this age of smart devices, you would think that Samsung would try to make their product work, but they don’t seem to care.

Unremarkable. I haven’t experienced the app crashing but I have to say it is rather useless. I have it connected to Samsung FlexWash washer/dryer combo. I connected via the SmartHome app on an iPhone 7 Plus running the latest iOS version. The app shows how much time is left in the cycle and you can remotely pause the cycle. I don’t have high expectations of a washer/dryer app however the one feature I think it should have is to send an alert to your device when a cycle finishes. I always forget there’s a load of laundry in and would love to receive an alert! That’s really the only feature I would want. If Samsung adds that feature, great!

WORST. APP. EVER.. This is possibly the WORST app ever created in the history of mankind. I stopped using it eight months ago, when it continuously failed out of the blue one day, to operate my very expensive Samsung mini split HVAC unit. Part of why I bought the Sam song in the first place was so that I can operate remotely in one of my rental properties. I tried the other Samsung Smart Things app, which worked for a while, and then also just failed one day. So, I decided to give this one another try today. Well that was a huge waste of time. I am a technically adept person. I deal with tech crap all day. I’m good with it. This app asked me to sign in five times in 120 seconds when it was trying to set up the unit on the network. This company should be out of business by now. It’s astounding that a technology company - I repeat, a TECHNOLOGY company - is unable to create technology to control its technology. There must be a team of absolute retards running their Wi-Fi division.

Can’t even get my account set up. I’d love to give a review on this app but I can’t even get my account set up. It’s downloaded, I went through all the steps to set up the account and it keeps telling me I haven’t confirmed my account yet. I’ve looked in my inbox and spam folder for an email. I’ve clicked the link to resend the email. I’ve double checked that I don’t have a typo in my email address/login. There is nowhere to click for help. For such a large company they don’t seem to have their act together with this app stuff. Didn’t even know our oven had this capability when we bought it. Just thought I’d download the app and try it. Oh well.

Is this a joke?. Not only is this the clumsiest app I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t even work! It asks me to turn on the access point mode on my ac mini split, then connect to the “DIRECT-SAMSUNGAORCON” network. Fine, except there is no such network. But there is one called “SMARTAIRCON”. Ok, that must be it. Back to the app and it won’t let me proceed to the next step because I’m not on the “DIRECT...” network. Back to settings to try to manually join this network. No luck. Delete app, prepare to live without WiFi enabled a/c. Oh well, I’ll live but it puzzles me how anyone can develop this app, presumably test it and call this good?? Zero stars if I could

Extremely Unreliable App. Last summer I replaced my ancient central heat and air with two Samsung mini splits. I like being able to operate the units remotely, but that seems more fantasy than reality. Whether I’m in my home or at work, this app hardly ever connects to the server. Several times I’ve had to log in everything again, only to still not connect. And when it does connect to the server, it then shows my units themselves are disconnected from the network. I really hoped for a better interface and overall app experience from the great Samsung. But this app is truly garbage. Samsung, are you even aware of this trove of negative reviews?

Hardware is great but software is trash. This app would only register the configuration of my dryer to the Samsung cloud successfully on 2.4 GHz wifi network, tested and confirmed repeatedly. I had to change my dual band access point to single band in order to complete the final step of set up after repeated failures to connect to Samsung. Otherwise the app always fail the last step. After the configuration set up is completed in the cloud, the wifi network can be switched back to dual band 2.4 and 5 GHz. But if I need to redo my configuration from scratch or add additional smart home appliances, I will have to go through the troubles again. This problem should be fixable in software. Hardware is fine.

Fraudulent claims. Samsung should feel embarrassed and ashamed to call their products “smart”. After five hours of attempts, I still am not able to get my brand new smart washer and dryer connected. As an owner of many “smart” devices I am flabbergasted that a world leader in technology has such a poorly designed app, and advertises their products as “smart”, when they are anything but. I specifically purchased this washer and dryer set for their “smart” capabilities. What a scam. Their should be a class action lawsuit for the erroneous claims that Samsung has made regarding its products. I’ve been a loyal Samsung customer for years. But, after this, my loyalties will be going to the competitors, who actually make and support their “smart” products. Shame on you Samsung.

What the hell. So about a year ago I purchased the new model Samsung robot vacuum worked well with the app no problems. I took the vacuum back to get the more expensive one which cost over 9 hundred dollars. Try connecting it to the app work for about an hour then it keeps telling me connectivity not stable your to far away from your WiFi. So I cleared the vacuum out settings from the app tried starting from scratch. Nope didn’t work the app keeps telling me connectivity not stable. I moved right next to the WiFi cleared everything out again. Didn’t work. My WiFi works I have a very expensive WiFi rougher and I Gig internet connection. And another thing when I login in to the app every time I want to try and add a device it wants me to log in again UMMM why I’m already in the freaking app stupid and does not work. It can’t be the vacuum because it shows my WiFi is connected it’s the app stupid and it needs to be upgraded.

Duped by Samsung. I spent over $4,000 for the Samsung “Smart” Refrigerator and another $1,000 on their “Smart” TV. Since my purchase, Samsung have abandoned the software on the fridge, the corresponding applications (Samsung Smart Home and Samsung Family Hub) with the promise of integrating to their acquisition of SmartThings. However, they failed to integrate before pulling the plug on the old apps and software. This leaves me with decidedly dumb appliances that do not work together at all. I’m holding out hope that someday, perhaps, they will. Until then the big display on the fridge does nothing but tell me time and weather. I pulled the plug on the TV, going back to a set top box.

Underwhelmed. Update: Push notifications have stopped working a 2-3 weeks ago and when the app is launched the infamous “cannot connect to server” has returned. It’s amazing that this app is even allowed on the AppStore - it’s by far the worst of 80+ apps on my phone. Originally review: I downloaded this app to connect to my new Samsung Flex washer and dryer. For whatever reason, I needed to log in to my Samsung account to add each “washer/dryer”, so a total of 4 times. Connectivity with the appliances works most of the time, but it’s very slow to discover the devices after opening the app and frequently fails to connect with the server. The functionality I have with the washer and dryer is pause / resume only at this point and I get push notifications when the appliance is done. I’m not sure what purpose the chat with device function has as I can see the status from the device overview page. UI Design is mediocre and not optimized for plus size screens.

How can we warn people against Samsung products?. I’ve never written a review before, however I feel compelled. We need to warn people about Samsung products. Kim Jong Un must’ve infiltrated South Korea’s corporate network in a planned attack on American citizens. By creating absolutely defective products, that drive consumers into state of delirium, and depression; his secret plan is working far better than he could ever aim a nuclear weapon. Unfortunately Samsung was chosen as his preferred implementation strategy. If you doubt me, ask yourself if you’ve ever purchased a Samsung product that has worked as advertised? Unfortunately I believe it is too late for many of us, however to all Americans that receive this message be warned.

Very glitchy. Not sure if it is a joke or something, but at this time you’d expect an all like this to be pretty straightforward. Alas, it isn’t. Took some days to finally connect to server. Added the new appliances (top of the line ones) and barely saw the dryer connected. For some unknown reason the washer connected and then stopped working for no reason. This is on the app, not the actual washer and dryer, which by the way are awesome machines. Turned the app again today to try with a new wash ... nothing, could not connect to server. I would expect a company like Samsung to be ashamed with the dismal reviews on their app ratings. Which unfortunately are all true. Why expect feedback if you won’t change it?

Should not have boughtthe flex wash washer and dryer. I based my purchase of a new washer and dryer on the criteria that it had iOS connection. I assumed I would get notifications on my phone when a cycle was complete. That’s all I wanted. I’m dumb founded to find out the feature doesn’t exist. Rep from Samsung said “that’s a good idea. We’ll keep it for consideration”. I have to push the smart control button every time I start a load. Why?! I want it connected. And as soon as the loads are complete the machines turn off and disconnect from the app. So there is no controlling them. Worthless. I’m considering returning the machines because of this app.

Lots of room for improvement. I use this app with a Samsung washer and dryer set. The idea of connected appliances is great, but the app and the functionality of it leave quite a bit to be desired. It is very slow to load information, very clunky to use (with repeated error messages and loading screens), and most strangely requires the activation of the smart home functionality on the washer and dryer every time the appliance is used. Compared to the likes of the nest thermostat / smoke detector app, which I also use, it just feels like Samsung is about ten years behind. I am on board though and hope that continued app updates AND firmware updates improve and expand the experience. At present, I would describe it as the least useful app on my phone and borderline completely broken.

Horrible. Set up was easy, but that’s about the only thing good about this app. Washer and dryer constantly loose connection to my WiFi. Even though the signal is excellent in the room they are in, it always looses connection when I open the app. Some days they stay connected all day. Some days it’s loosing connection off and on all day. Have to manually press the smart control button the the machines to connect them. I don’t know if it’s the apps fault or the WiFi dongles they sell, but I wouldn’t bother buying/getting either of them. Waste of money and I will be returning both dongles I bought.

I would rate this as a 0 if I could. I read the negative reviews, but hoped I could get a little functionality out of my smart washer and dryer. I set them up and connected them 3 times each. The setup process tells you to restart the washer or dryer and hen you will be able to control them. As soon as you power the device off, it says it is disconnected, and you can’t do anything. You have to go through the setup process again, including pressing buttons on the device etc. This does not work at all. I’m surprised at how poorly this app was designed for a company like Samsung. I expected better. I would not have been enticed to buy such an expensive washer and dryer if I knew there was no actual smart function capabilities. Seriously, it’s like a high schooler designed the app for a school project.

Need To Fix, Terrible Product. We were so excited when we purchased the Samsung LCD fridge and will likely be returning this expensive fridge if this problem isn’t resolved quickly. Their customer service is closed on a Tuesday at 9:30 CST to help with Samsung Connect issues. Typical. Downloaded this terrible app and have not been able to get it to work. It constantly freezes and we have not been able to get past initial set up screens. First it froze when we needed to select our country. We kept trying to select US and it wouldn’t respond. Next, we closed app and tried again to same result. Deleted and then reinstalled the app and we got a past country to register the fridge but now it just sits on the device page, rendering it completely useless. If I can’t use the core features, this investment seems pointless and I might as well go get a better product without the headache.

Push a setting everytime I want alerts/ remote start?. So if I want to get alerts that the cycle is done I have to remember is push a button when I put the load in? Shouldn’t that just be automatic and if I don’t want alerts I can turn it off in the app settings? Seems like the remote start feature is worthless if I need to do that each load. Needs to have capability to connect to my Apple Watch. Lots of good reasons to back that functionality up.

Should have known better. Downloaded App to monitor Washer & Dryer completions. Sign in to app with their 2 step security verification. Tap the Add Device to add a washer and requested to sign in with 2 step verification again. Device fails, washer does not show up. Sign in to app again with their 2 step security verification. Tap the Add Device to add a dryer and requested to sign in again with 2 step verification but fails… to many sign in attempts. Samsung SmartHome app needs to be removed. Unfortunately, I had to give it one ⭐️ to post this zero ⭐️ review. Having like issues with a 2 year old SmartThings Hub lately due to errant updates and, since most of my devices are Lutron Caseta, I purchased a Lutron hub and in the process of swapping out the remaining non-Lutron compatible smart devices to eliminate the SmartThings Hub. Over the last month of operation, the Lutron Hub has been very stable with lightning fast responses.

Yes the App works.. I had to review because the Samsung app works exactly as it is described and connects with no issue. Follow the app directions and enable the device smart control as instructed. I can’t get it to not work as many reviewers mention. Maybe I’m lucky or something to do with working with automation software and hardware the last 15yrs but the Samsung Smart Home network config works.

Don’t expect Smart control. I just got a Flex washer and one of the features that sold me was smart-control. I didn’t read any reviews of the app as this feature was new to me. After reading the reviews I said, they have to have released an update by now.... sadly no they have not. The same issues still arise. The service won’t connect on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Afterwards it says log in attempt failed. From there it’s a never ending cycle of those messages. If a company is going to advertise a smartphone feature, wouldn’t you think they would ensure it works. I’m running 1 yr old Asus router at 400Mbs internet speed. So I know it’s plenty fast enough. My steaming channels upload immediately so it’s not the WiFi. Samsung please ensure the app is fixed sooner rather than later.

Only slightly helpful. I have the Flex Washer/Dryer combo and I love them. But I’ll be honest, when I bought them, the WiFi capabilities influenced me exactly 0%. I just couldn’t understand why I would ever need to start my washer remotely. I mean, I still had to sort and load the clothes myself and I still had to add the soap and fabric softener. So what was the point? Then I was leaving the house to go visit a friend for the weekend and wondered if I had remembered to start the dryer. I was already on the road, so I couldn’t check. The answer, of course, was that I hadn’t and my clothes smelled awful when I got home and I had to rewash them all. That’s when I realized the usefulness of the WiFi feature. All this to say, the app doesn’t work very well. It only works if the machines are turned on and there’s no way to remotely turn them on and they will turn off automatically after a period of time. Then on top of it, I can’t get the “smart control” to work. It keeps saying something is wrong with my router connection even when I’m standing right next to it. The only thing I can do, if the machines are on, is see how much time is left until the load is done. Not overly helpful.

Unstable, inconsistent app. When I first set up this app, it worked great. Then, it never worked consistently after the update 6 months later. I thought it was working again over this past summer, received the notifications from the washer and dryer normally, then another update occurred and the app stopped giving notifications. This app would be awesome if it worked properly like it did when I first started using it. I also used to get notifications on my Apple Watch when a cycle completed and that also stopped over the summer with one of the updates. As of now the app is completely inoperable after the last update and it crashes. Believe me, I tried deleting the app, reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, closing and restarting the app, and my troubling shooting efforts are spent. I’ve had this “smart” washer/dryer set for the past 2 years now.

Yeah, this app doesn’t work. I thought the other reviews were exaggerating the lack of care Samsung put into this app (and perhaps Smart Control feature, overall). I tried to set it up with the Flexi Washer/Dryer combo. The app crashes instantly at the end of account creation. It at least created the account — you will know it, too, as you have to manually enter your password when you start the app. Now, I’ve read that you have to also manually enable Smart Control every time you use your washer, which doesn’t sound too “smart.” Unfortunately, I may never be able to try it myself. Despite latest tech and powerful router and signal strength (yes, tried 2.4Ghz and older OS, too), I can’t get the app to connect to the server. I can enable AP search (hold the lower Smart Control Button while the machines are on), find the network, connect the devices... and the it’ll simply never complete the server connection at the very end and times out. Given that each machine has two Smart Control buttons, you’d figure Samsung would spend a little more time on getting this stuff to work. Disappointing.

Failure to launch. If I could give no stars I would. I just got my new Samsung washer and thought it would be fun to download the app and play around with it. However I can't get it to even load past the splash screen, it just keeps spinning and then says no network available use wifi. I checked in my cellular settings and it's not even registered in there as an app so clearly it hasn't loaded correctly. I removed and reinstalled with the same result. After reading all the other horrible reviews I'm removing this app and not even going to waste a second more of my time. Come on Samsung, you should be embarrassed!! I don't get it, you know how to build quality home electronics but building a solid app that interfaces with these devices has somehow eluded you?

Wrong App!. As I was going through the set up to connect my smart fridge, the app advised me that I needed Samsung Connect instead of Samsung smart home - Boo to Samsung for the wrong info! Once I got the correct app, I had no trouble setting it up and connecting. I think this is because of pairing with an iPhone and not a Samsung smartphone. If you’re having problems as described in most of these reviews, try the Samsung Connect app to see if that resolves your issues. Also, I noticed that several people have complained about having to sign in every time they go to the app. My product user manual reads “iPhone users are required to provide the login each time they access the app.” It doesn’t matter if you select for it to remember you, it won’t. Hope this helps!

Replaced by SmartThings (Samsung Connect) app. Chances are if you’re reading through these reviews, you’re not doing it because you want to see how everybody else thinks this app is terrible and gloat at what the awful product development team at Samsung has done with it. My guess is you’re probably looking at these reviews for the same reason I did; to find out how to get it working. The short answer is, you won’t — but read on: The vast majority of Samsung devices that this app was meant to support have quietly been added (over time) in the newish SmartThings app. Why Samsung didn’t advertise this, or put a note in this app’s description that it’s been deprecated and most devices are now supported in SmartThings? I don’t know… but check out that app; it will probably be the solution to your woes today. If your device isn’t supported now, it will likely be in the future — they add new devices on a monthly basis. If this was helpful, you might mark my review is helpful so that other people can get this information instead of seeing the loads of complaints people have about this particular app. Not but those aren’t valid, but I wish I had found this information a lot sooner.

It finally worked!. After 1 month of not being able to connect my Samsung Robot Vacuum to my IPhone it finally connected. I just went in and added the device through the app and it finally showed up. I had just about given up trying because I had attempted so many times when it first went offline. Anyhow it is working once again.

Mostly works. I had no issues installing and setting up my washer and dryer with the app. I’ve only had it less than 24 hours but it works so far. I had my wife login to the app on her phone using the same account I used on my phone. She can see the devices on the home screen but can’t access or control. I tried creating her own Samsung account, then adding the devices since in the settings tab for each device it shows the accounts that have access to the device. I figured you could allow other accounts access...nope. Apparently one account on one phone/tablet can control your devices. So it’s either me or my wife, not both of us. Not very convenient.

Really Bad. Samsung!!!! Please work on your app! I just purchased a new Samsung FlexWash and Dryer and this app is so useless. Here’s what you need to do: - improve performance - it’s very slow when logging in or making changes - iPhone X Support (use all available screen real estate) - after the washer and dryer are joined by WiFi, and the machines are off, I should still be able to get machine status, history, maintenance schedules, if the lint trap is clogged, etc (none of this functionality presently exists but should be added!!) - I should be able to subscribe to localized push notifications by phone when the washer or dryer stops - I should be able to turn off /control the washer & dryer alarms - I should be able to update my washer/dryer software - i should be able to integrate the app capabilities into Nest’s app - I should be able to order replacement parts - I should be able to request maintenance service and select the vendor/ manage/view the vendor’s history maintaining my machines

User Experience is flawed. Bought the FlexiWash and Dryer. The process is a bit complicated, connecting to the washer/dryer Wi-Fi, then registering the machines to the home Wi-Fi. If the process gets interrupted for any reason the app and the machines kind of go haywire. Given that the process is complicated, this is quite a possibility. I can understand this for a beta or 1.0 version, but this hardware has been out for a while and more than enough time has passed to make the software more resilient and responsive to errors. Struggled to register them, but got it working after a couple of tries. Couple weeks later tried to use the app for the first time because I didn’t want to go 2 floors down to check on the loads and the app says the washer and dryer are disconnected. Looks like I have to do the same thing all over again. Not that excited about having to do all that again.

Worst app I’ve ever used. Would give negative stars if I could. Such a bad app... you can’t log in via Google, when started down a flow (like after tapping a button and the next page shows up) there’s literally no way to go back to the point before you tapped the button besides quitting the app. On top of that my 4 door fridge/freezer couldn’t even get into AP mode because holding the fridge button just turns on power cooling and then does nothing if you keep holding it. It also was doing weird things with the keyboard making the size bigger or using a different keyboard or something. They also had auto correct on the email address, so when I went to sign in it failed because it added a space. ...such a bad app. I’m fairly certain that this is the worst app I’ve ever used. I can think of no other app that failed in such vital aspects as this one has.

At some point Apple needs to remove this app. We’ve had a Samsung washer for about a year, and it’s a big improvement over our old top loader. After a month or two of ownership, I bought the USB dongle for about $35, and since then, I’ve tried about once a month to get the app to work. I usually only put a half hour in before giving up. Tonight was my monthly attempt, and I was able to finally get it to connect! My wife asked me to install the app on her phone and set it up, and it promptly logged me out on my phone, required a full setup on her phone (even while using my existing Samsung account) from the beginning, and eventually froze again. Apple - read the reviews! You need to remove this nonfunctional, buggy app from the store and stop being complicit in allowing Samsung to perpetrate fraud. All of the other negative reviews mirror my experiences. There is no such thing as “Samsung Smart Home”.

Glad I didn't buy smart fridge!. So I really wanted the Samsung smart fridge and I didn't buy it thanks to all the reviews here. I ended up saving $1000 for the same fridge without the big tablet attached. I did however buy a Samsung double range oven that has wifi to control oven etc.. I log into the app and it just kicks me out! I was able to connect it all yesterday just fine and today it just isn't letting me in! Honestly I don't see myself using the wifi feature much but it came with the range and I wanted to try it out. What a joke Samsung!! If the appliances are only for Samsung phone users then advertise it that way!!! Get your app to work for iOS!! 👎👎👎👎👎😡😡😡😡😡

Samsung Needs To Read Reviews. I had read all the bad reviews and they were over a month old so I thought Samsung would have their “stuff” together by now so I bought the adapters for my new washer & dryer. Wow!! How wrong was I. I was able to open a Samsung account and then link my washer but then the App got stuck on “Connecting To The Server”. I couldn’t get it passed that. I closed down the app, then waited 2 days and today I tried to link my dryer. I opened the app and then it automatically tried to connect to server, but stuck AGAIN!! I eventually deleted the app and reinstalled. I logged in with my account and again STUCK!!! UGH!!!! SAMSUNG.....READ YOUR TERRIBLE REVIEWS AND FIX YOUR APP OR QUIT BOASTING ABOUT BEING “SMART” BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT!!!!

NEGATIVE 1 Star!. I have been an engineer for 22 years with 3 university degrees, while gainfully employed with 3 Fortune 50 companies who also paid $7,000 to purchase 3 devices of Samsung's "Smart" (they are not) Products. I verified the model numbers prior to purchase. A TV, Refrigerator, and Washer. ALL 3 devices will not connect to any of my 3 Smart Home APPs. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and iPad, iPad Pro and high speed 2.4Ghz AC wifi technology. The best and latest. I am fluent in technology, can program in several languages, and can perform senior level advanced engineering . Samsung committed FRAUD BY DECEPTION by advertising their devices had smart features controlled by SAMSUNG Smart Home APP. Samsung sold their customers via deception. A world-wide Class Action Lawsuit needs to be started now.

How can they write such a terrible program?. As a software developer, I can’t figure out who would write such crap and why management would release it. The potential is great, implementation is terrible. Registering a washer and dryer was cranky, requiring multiple logins but eventually worked. However, then after that the app could not connect to the Samsung server no matter what it did, rendering it completely useless. The app actually can show you remaining time on washer and dryer cycles, which would be useful, except that the box saying it can’t connect to the server covers them up. It doesn’t have to connect to server show the remaining time - that keeps updated. If it can’t connect to the server, it shouldn’t render otherwise working functionality useless.

Can’t connect to the sever. This is the normal message I get from the app... like it needs to be re-setup in order to work. But I continue to receive information from both my robot vac and stove. So I’m not sure why the app says it can’t connect to my devices. I do have it working with Smartthings. I hit clean and away it goes. So why can’t the Smart Home app work with the device? My guess is lazy programming from the Samsung crew. I manage several hundred programmers and would never allow such garbage out in the public community especially if this is what sells their hardware. Inexcusable for a company this large to allow this app to be out in the wild. If you buy the hardware expecting their software to connect to it... go look at somewhere else such as GE or even LG.

Completely useless app. Even one star is too much. Whom ever Samsung hired to write this app never tested it once. Instructions say to push the SmartControl on the washer and then sign onto that WI-FI network. That part works, but then the app does not go next. In fact the app does not work once you change the network selection to Samsung. Instead it keeps asking you to login again but now you’re on the local Samsung network that’s not using the WiFi!! It’s completely idiotic. You can’t have two WiFi networks at the same time! The idiot that created the app must have known this, it’s 2019 folks, don’t sell products that highlight features created by morons.

It’s anything but Smart. What a piece of crap app. Even after reading all the negative reviews I still tried it. Yep, it’s junk! I’m a techie. Set up and configure of tech devices is pretty simple for me. But, not with Samsung. Oh no. Set up was impossibly difficult. After 7 attempts, I finally got it to see the dryer’s SSID and then it kept dropping it, unable to recognize its own device. I was hoping to be alerted on my phone whenever the dryer went off (because that stupid chime is ridiculously childish and LONG). But no. Apparently a simple notification is far too difficult for Samsung. What’s wrong with you people at Samsung? Can’t you build reliable apps? Apparently not!

It’s just as bad as everyone is saying. It’s a miracle if it actually manages to connect to my router, an eero less than 10 feet away in the same room. Then, you throw away your current version of the app, because it won’t connect more than once. Then you download a new version of the app and go through the setup procedure again. After that, you can use the clumsy app to do in four or five minutes what you could have done from the front panel on the washer in 10 seconds. All I want is a text message when the cycle is complete. Is that too much to ask?

Unbelievably bad.. This is probably the least professionally written application I’ve come across for a long time. I do not know where to start to list all defects as there are so many, It asks me to reenter password every time even thought i marked the “remember” box. It regularly fails to connect to the server and reacts in the most primitive way- popping up a message box, which you cannot get rid off as it keeps coming back. It looses the only device I registered and prompts me to add it again. During the process of adding a device it freezes is several steps so you have to start all over. Sometimes it just crashes for no reason. I do not know how Samsung had guts to release such raw product but it definitely did more damage to Samsung” s image than having no wifi on their appliances at all.

Doesn’t work!. The manual that came with my fridge says to use “smart home app” and then when I try to connect it the refrigerator screen says I need to use “Samsung connect”! Also have been trying all day to get the stove to connect to the smart app but has been giving an error saying failed to connect please try again. It is sad to spend so much on appliances that don’t work! I’m using an iPhone! Then to top it off now I’m told I need to use family hub app for the fridge. Multiple apps to control your connected devices?!? Sad! Had the potential to be great! Samsung’s support is a joke too! Nothing like waisting your time with them!

Missing key features. I returned my washer / dryer and smart home adapters after a week of missed expectations. 1. No apple homekit capability to setup advanced notifications or voice interaction- I want to integrate with Phillips Hue. 2. You can’t change cycle information from the phone, for example to help prevent wrinkles by turning on certain features 3. Appliance makes you turn on smart appliance mode EVERY SINGLE TIME with an slow 3-second delay button. This is terrible convenience. At least let me change this feature. 4. Let me change the tones and sounds made by the appliance through the app.

Needs improvements. It took awhile but I did get it connected. Had to change the WiFi to 2.4 then it finally connected. Lucky once connected the WiFi could be put back to 5. I use this for my washer and dryer. They are located in the basement and I cannot hear the chimes when they are finished. I wish that I do not have to log in every time I open the app. It should have an option to not have to. Also I would like a sound when the cycle is complete. If I am not looking at my phone or iPad I miss the notice. I would rate it higher if it had these options.

I am trying to use to trouble shoot a ~3 week old Samsung white good... wish I had never upgraded, how hard is it to make something that just does what you need!!! Very disappointed all around. Mistake. Which I had read these reviews before I spent $20K on my new AC unit. Now I have a smart house with a dumb AC, that can only be controller by the wall controller.

App has never worked. Just bought a brand new washer but this app never worked with it. Constant synching, connection issues and always asking to login each. Most annoying and useless. Be careful buying products with this app feature as never worked. So upset as I bought the washer thinking this would be useful. Samsung don’t advertise your products can connect to wifi or apps when it doesn’t work.

Unusable. This app clearly needs updating. I had it working, it had a few issues but otherwise was working fine until I purchased a new iPhone and now the app shuts down every time I try to log in, rendering it useless. Very disappointing

Reduced functionality = poor customer support. The latest version of Smart Home has disabled the support for controlling my PowerBot when not connected to the same network. I have the latest model of PowerBot and it's only two weeks old. The reason I chose the more expensive PowerBot was the app functionality and ability to control it from outside home. If Samsung do not fix this, then I am returning the PowerBot and buying a different brand that won't disable support just after I buy the robot. I have already spoken to the retailer about this and they agree that I can return the PowerBot because the reason I bought that model is no longer valid. Not impressed at all!

Get with it Samsung!. Clearly all the other reviews have a consistent theme as I am also unable to connect! Third call to Samsung support: - first person was helpful however the call was disconnected when being transferred to second level support - second person had no idea what I was talking about, could nonlocatwbthe user manual and offered no advuse. After 20mins I ended the call and called back. - third call and the problem is unable to be resolved. Perhaps Samsung should start to pay attention to these reviews on the App Store.

Virtually useless. App takes such a long time to connect to server that it times out before it can connect. When it does manage to connect it tells me that my devices are disconnected and need updating, and it then requires me to ad the device as a new device again. I have yet to have any luck actually using this app to control any Samsung smart devices.

Floorplan mapping function grossly inaccurate and frustrating. I’ve tried twice now to map our very simple, 4 bedroom, single story house with minimal clutter with the hope of making our VR9300 robotic vacuum a little smarter and more thorough in its clean. It currently misses entire bedrooms and sections with no change in floor height or obstructions. Both times I’ve tried to map the house it works for over an hour then doesn’t finish the mapping. What is mapped, looks nothing like our house. Disappointing. Please update your app or the firmware in a vacuum that retails at $2000.

No Home button. Looks simple enough but either I have missed it but missing a home button for the vacuum control. No point stopping the vacuum and it not returning to the recharging dock ????

It was bad, became useless. Some time ago the app stopped working when connected to my home wifi. It just can’t connect to its server. It worked in the same environment for a couple of years before The app connects via 4G but then it wants to configure my RVC and that proves fails on the last step when the app asks to connect to wifi

Won’t connect to server. App - and in some ways the whole Samsung air conditioner I bought partly because it supposedly had remote control - is a complete fail. Cannot connect to the server despite multiple attempts. I see this is a common complaint by other reviewers over several months and yet Samsung has not rectified this. Have lost faith in the Samsung brand.

I bought three smart wifi air conditioner units from Samsung and I must say that was the dumbest thing I have ever done. I will never buy anything Samsung ever again. I switched phones to apple. Samsung app. Hi, Can you please update the on/off buttons on the app to be different colours. Suggestion is to make it red when it’s off and green when it’s on. I can’t tell when my Aircon in on/off since the on/off button is the same colour.

Samsung. I purchased my robot vacuum in January 2015 with the app working as it should. Once Apple updated iOS at some stage, the app failed to connect and I could never use the app again. I reported this issue to Samsung soon after and staff had very little knowledge and did not follow up on the escalation of this issue. After all this time with all the negative feedback and complaints, Samsung has not lifted a finger to rectify issues with the app and show little care in fixing the problem. I am however very happy with the product. Come on Samsung how hard can it be to fix this problem and re earn the respect from your customers? Extremely disappointed!!

Still crashes. With the latest update the app still crashes after the 'Connecting to server' dialogue box is displayed for a while, which means the app is still unusable. *Update - I deleted and reinstalled the app, and went through the whole setup process with the robot vac again, and now it works. At least it retained the floor plans. A bit annoying, but hopefully not required for every app update.

Useless.. Atrocious App. Zero functionality, creating an account locks the app up with no exit, have to reboot, have to sign in repeatedly within the app, and no support for older machines which utilise smart diagnostic pre-wifi, only capable of connecting to wifi machines. Waste of download and time spent trying to muck around with it.

Unusable app. Once I finally had my vacuum connected which took days of trying with the app failing to connect to the server, I changed my wifi password and tried to setup my vacuum again and have been unable to as the app fails to connect to the Samsung server every time. This is the worst app to accompany a $2000 piece of kit, sort it out Samsung!

How was this garbage forced on consumers?. Samsung, please fix this “software” (term used loosely). It crashes, it’s slow, even the keyboard font is stupidly large on my iPhone, no other app has this scaling issue, did you even try this product before selling it? As a first time Samsung product owner I honestly do not see how you sell anything if this is what comes out your dev teams office. I’ll be calling my installer to ask for a refund, you should be embarrassed your names on this.

App Sucks!. Ditto with the previous review! Additionally once I got my Samsung account set up, passed all of my info onto them then went back to app to begin registering my appliance a notice popped up indicating the app has been discontinued and to download the Samsung SmartThings app which has the same connection issues. Apple and Samsung need to get their stuff together. Thanks for wasting my time on all of this, I will keep all of this in mind next time I am shopping for appliances!

Smart home app has bugs, phone cannot connect. Worked for a while. Range is connected to my wifi, but iPhone app can no longer connect to Samsung smart home servers. Lots of time wasted. DONT BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES IF YOU ARE RELYING IN THE WIFI FEATURES. This should be basic stuff, don’t know why they can’t get it fixed. Seems like everyone is complaining about this broken feature.

I only have a samsung dryer and washer, but if this is any indication of what they’re other product lines are like in terms of integration and setup, then I won’t be buying them in the future. I can only imagine what their other smart home products are like?! The smart home app is terrible in almost every way possible. Setup was hair pulling...connection issues...unresponsive...even the login section is ridiculous! I’m taken back by the fact that such a big company could put out such a terrible application. Seriously. Get your act together Samsung.

App will not connect to range. I can connect my range to wifi through the app but after the set up when I try to connect to the range it says it’s disconnected.

0 STARS!. Who thought of this useless app? I have to press a button at the machine in order to access from my smart phone? If I’m already at my machine pushing the button, why would I use my phone? Why has this app not been updated for 5 months? No compatibility with ios12? Used to work but now will not connect neither washer nor dryer. The connectivity was a selling feature for me to buy these machines and it doesn’t even work. Waste of money and I’ve told everyone I know not to bother with any Samsung appliance.

Frustrating. I just don't get this app. I've tried numerous times to setup my Samsung fridge only for it to fail saying it can't connect to server. Not to mention every time you do ANYTHING with the app, it not only asks you to enter your password again, but also the stupid captcha. Can't you tell from the first time I entered it that I'm a real person and on the same device. Oh, and for some reason it changes the DPI ony screen... Why!?

Unable to set up Account- Horrible Security Login Capability. Attempts at creating a personal ID and security password never worked. Setup Account with ID, PW and all my personal credentials as required by the App and on immediately attempting to login to my account the app says it can’t find my ID/ Account. Repeated this numerous times and same result. Poor quality app.

Doesn't work. Completely useless. Tried this out on my new induction range. Doesn't work at all. I can register the device and connect it to wifi, but the app just says "take a look at your #1#. Find the Smart Control button and turn it off and then on." It hangs on that screen. The app also requires me to sign into the Samsung account every time the app is opened.

Worst app in history. This app does NOT work. At ALL! And......you can’t stay logged in. So I guess it doesn’t matter that I can’t connect my washer and dryer....because I would have to log in every time I opened the app anyway. The whole point was so that I would know when the laundry was done. Well, I can’t even connect the washer or dryer in the first place. Slow when (if) it works. Bought a Samsung range that is supposed to work with the smart home suite. The range by itself is great. However, the Wi-Fi into ration with the Samsung smart home is horrible. The latest application crashes every third time, takes forever to see my range if it does at all. I don’t see this application as being any sort of timesaver, more of a novelty or party trick than anything.

Doesn’t work. I have a gas cooktop, convection oven and other smart Samsung devices. There is no delayed start option on my oven. This is the only way I can start it when not home and it doesn’t work FFS!

Garbage Garbage and Garbage!!!!. I’m ashamed Samsung even made this app! For such a smart company you have really dumb developers!! App asks to login each time, if I turn my screen off and back on it wants me to log back in, once the machines are off it disconnects, this whole app is useless and pleas don’t waste your time downloading it! Waste of money buying the dongles for those machines just to find out this app is garbage! This app is 0 stars!!!

Will not let you authenticate device. Can't re-add new washer and dryer as it will not authenticate the device. Just stays on the screen. Also provides 0 notifications for washer or dryer.

ZipCode. How am I supposed to connect my device when creating a new account requires zip code? I’m a Canadian who doesn’t have zip code. Any thoughts?

Worst app I’ve ever used. Doesn’t connect to server - end up having to force quit and relaunch. One out of every 6-8 attempts it actually connects, then tells me the authentication is timed out and I need to go through the whole process again. I’ve reinstalled app several times. Thought Samsung would be a good brand to washer and dryer but wishing I had gone LG now.

Useless App. This app is terrible! No option to stay logged in or even log in without a security code each time. Won’t even let me add a device to my account. Was looking forward to this feature on my appliances but with this for an app that isn’t even an option

Worst app ever. Took forever to be able to connect and worked for about 10 minutes. Then always disconnects. Stay away of those Samsung app.

0 star. I wish I can give it 0 star..... I need to press a button on my dishwasher after power it up to enable remote control..... but if I am there pressing button already. Why will I bother pull out my phone, unlock, open this stupid useless app, login, wait for it load for a min, then start my washer..... I could’ve just press the start button and call it a day.... who dumb idea was this? You need to fire your human factor engineering group.....

Mental. Whom ever made this app should get another hobby. If the true test is “can I make a app more accessible than setting a timer or reminder in my phone” you failed. If your goal was to make you repeatedly log in over and over and over again only to show the devices disconnected and ask you login over and over again with that crappy captcha YOU SUCCEEDED. Pure freaking torture! Get out of software engineering!!!

if it was possible to give less than one star. would be great. The company promotes smart appliances and then fails the last mile that actually let you use their “smart” appliances in a modern and FAST way. The app doesn’t use faceid, it is clunky and SLOW in every step, particularly when after connecting to the AP has to connect back to their backend. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. no siri shortcuts no anything modern that would fall in line with what they claim for the appliances

Horrible app. I’ve tried several time to add my Samsung 9250 robot vacuum to the app and behold it never lets you add the device, which makes the smart option absolute. In addition, it automatically logs you out and you need to start the process all over again. It’s is very frustrating that you cannot use the app option when your not home. Which begs the questions was it really worth paying so much for a vacuum that only works when you manually turn it on. Poor design on Samsung’s part.

App doesn’t work. This app is not functional. It doesn’t get past the initial message that you get saying “the connect between mobile device and Samsung smart home server failed”. I really don’t understand why Samsung would have such poor integration and an app that is essentially non-functioning. It’s really very disappointing as we purchased our washer dryer combo thinking that we would be able to have the “smart” functionality is the experience has been anything but smart. :(

App Update Needed. This app is sorely in need of a huge update and ongoing maintenance. I realize Samsung is “the competition”, however, they need to look around and realize that a poorly written app reflects poorly on their brand. If you look at other competitors (such as Google), you can see that they care about their brand and quality. Perhaps it will take a social media campaign for Samsung to wake up, but I hope not.

Horrible user experience. “The connection between mobile device and Samsung smart home server failed. Please try again.” This is all I see when I open this unbelievably poorly developed app. I have this app working fine on my old iPhone 6 Plus and it just doesn’t work at all on my iPhone X. When I first installed it on iPhone X I was able to login and then for whatever reason I am getting the above message. Uninstalling and installing app is not helping. Restarting iPhone isn’t working either. This is so bad I don’t even know what to say. Horrible user experience!!!

App Needs A Complete Re-write. Having paid over $3K for a Samsung washer and dryer I am really disappointed at the horrible performance, usability and quality of this App. It took multiple attempts to create an account and connect the two appliances. It connects some of the time, but generally has to be restarted. Then it fails again. I have a really powerful mesh WiFi network so it’s nothing to do with signal strength. There is a mysterious set of buttons saying things like “Going Out”, “Goodnight” etc. with no explanation of what they do, no feedback if pressed and no apparent effect on anything. Terrible design. You also have to turn on the connection at the appliance every time that you want to use the App. There’s also no way to schedule when you’d like a washer/dryer job to finish. One of the worst Internet Of Things Apps I’ve ever seen. Let’s hope that they get somebody competent to re-write it.

Frustrating. And like every time I start it it has to sync and figure out what devices I have. I only have the washer and the lookup blocks the UI. What I really hate is that the messages from the washer don't have the date and time they were received. If I had gotten 10 messages since I last opened the app when I open the app, and look at the messages they all have the current date and time. You displayed a notification. Why can't you remember and store that date and time?

Such a pain!. I love love love my Samsung flexwash and flexdry machines. The app? Not so much. It's clunky and slow, even on a brand new iPhone and why Samsung, when signing in on THE APP ON MY PHONE so you force me to do a captcha EVERY TIME?? Seriously. Afraid a robot will otherwise take control of my washer via my phone? I understand using captcha ONLINE say, when I set up my account. But I've never had the annoyance of having to go through it with an installed app, certainly not *every* time I open it on my phone. Or at least add touch id capability. It's pretty much not worth using in its present incarnation.

Useless login screen. I keep getting a “the connection between smart home server and mobile device failed” error and it is so frustrating! When it is actually able to log in after that window pops up 15 times it’s actually pretty nice to use with my PowerBot... but thank goodness that comes with an infrared remote because the smart home app is useless! Why can’t I use my powerbot with the smart THINGS app which is so much better in so many ways!?

Update after update, still terrible. You’d think for the price their appliances cost, they could get this app right. Been a year and it’s still crap. Get ready to see “connecting to server” perpetually, and “connection to server lost try again” every time you open the app. Support are kind, but they’ll make you jump through hoops that will only temporarily solve issues or not solve them at all.

App stinks. Been replaced. I’ve tried using this app many times over the years and it has always sucked - won’t connect, crashed, clunky. It didn’t exactly inspire confidence in Samsung products. Today I decided to try it again. After launching it a message appeared stating the the app was no longer compatible with my fridge and that I needed to install SmartThings instead. I did, and the new app actually worked. Still has a few clunky things - but it worked. So go ahead and uninstall this app. Never use it again.

Worthless. For one thing you have to login to the account every single time – IT KEEPS TELLING ME MY PASSWORD IS WRONG! I know I’m typing the right one. I HAVE CHANGED IT 5 times AND IT NEVER WORKS!!!!!!! When my password was working, I couldn’t even turn my washer on remotely so what’s the point??? I hate this thing. Samsung should be embarrassed this is so bad!!! Why won’t it keep my password and why do you have to even sign in after five minutes of using it??

Buyer Beware!. I’m compelled to write this review to warn others that this app does NOT work! I’m setting up a brand new gas cooktop. I was able to connect the unit to my Wi-Fi (after multiple failed attempts seeing “Could Not Add Device - Please try again) BUT simply cannot get it to go past the next step towards the end, “Registering the device is taking too long” error message. When I restart my iPhone and the app, I see my Family Hub fridge but not the cooktop while the app goes into endless loop of “trying to connect your smartphone with Samsung server”.

Could it be worse?. It won't let me do zero stars. App doesn't even open- end of review! Setup was a nightmare of steps that only after many, many attempts actually work. But that's only if you can get the app to open- which hasn't worked at all regardless of recent "updates". Will communication with their server work when it does open? Who knows... Remote control of anything with this app is a joke at best, Samsung should be ashamed their name is on it. Does anyone even test this before it's released??

This app is a joke.. I have Samsung for all of my appliances. And the smart thing app works with everything. Unfortunately my washer and dryer wouldn’t fit down in the basement so I had to get a cheaper version. This version doesn’t allow them to connect to the smart things app. So I try the smart home app and they still won’t connect. Why not have them all connect to one app 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don’t waste your time or money - doesn’t work. Spent $3000 on FlexWash and Flexdryer because of the WiFi connectivity claim. They don’t and can’t connect via Wi-Fi, this is just straight up fraud and deception on the part of the Samsung people. There is no customer support - calls are routed to Pakistan, and the people manning the phones are not trained in helping customer. One of the worse customer experiences of a major purchase in my life. Getting ready to call dealer and return everything and buy a Whirlpool or Other American company produced appliances.

Horrible app. Shame on Samsung for putting out such an amateurish app to go along with their products. The appliance does not pair with the WiFi network or the smart phone, despite repeated attempts. Plus it requires the user to log in every time you switch to a new page while you are navigating within the app! I could go on and on but suffice it to say that Samsung should count their blessings that Apple is not in the appliance business.

Disappointed in accessibility of this app. I hoped that this app would assist me and controlling my smart oven. The buttons are not labeled and so I cannot identify them with voiceover. Additionally, the buttons do not activate when double tapped with voiceover. This is a very disappointing performance. I hope that Samsung is reading and will take this into account in future upgrades. I would very much like to be able to control my own oven. I miss being able to cook.

Needs A LOT of improvement. I have the refrigerator with screen, the app doesn’t always open to be able to see shopping list or inside the fridge. Takes a long time to open when it does work. Need another way to add pictures, I have only been able to add a handful. It usually takes forever to send and either doesn’t add pictures or will add 1 of 10. We bought the refrigerator for some of these features VERY disappointing.

Bug fixes? Lol. Crashes on start now. Cmon Samsung. Stop putting out trash. Phones on fire. Washing machines exploding. This app proves you are putting out absolute garbage. This was supposed to fix bugs, but now the app can't even start up. Did you not even test it before uploading the update? What kind of a company are you? Samsung doesn’t even bother to hire English proficient translators for the release notes. They just have the coders do it.

Chat control is worthless. Each event is time tagged to when you read it instead of when it happened. I’ve have the Helpdesk online to resolve by no help. Even the screen shot posted in the App Store showed this bug and that’s a few years old! If you have Samsung appliances, delete this app and install SmartThings app and you’re better off. At least the notifications worked.

The single worst app I’ve ever experienced!. Samsung needs to fire their entire app development team and the management team in charge of them! In short, this app fails to work 99% of the time. Because of this, I have a $600 “smart” robot vacuum that is now “dumb.” I can’t control it from the app and worse, can’t update it. It’s criminal what Samsung has done. I will never buy or download another Samsung product. Ever!

Doesn't work. This app is so poor it's hard to explain without sounding like you're exaggerating. Notification doesn't work unless app is open and in foreground. Makes the use case for app non-functional. Updates require you to resign in. Latest update makes you go through re-registering all of your appliances. This is a very lazy and poor effort on Samsung part to claim they have smart appliances. Due to the the poor app, the appliances really aren't smart/connected.

Doesn’t work with iOS 11.4.1 ?. Like others I just spent an hour setting up the flex washer and dryer three times, and although they appear in the app they constantly disconnect or say “monitor only”. I’m a 30-year IT veteran so I know a bit about setting up networks, my best guess is it’s not compatible with the latest iOS version. IMHO setup should be like Bluetooth, press a button on the device and one in the app and it should do all the rest. Come on Samsung, get with the times!

Terrible app. Extremely difficult to link your devices to the app. You have to connect to the device which takes 5 to 6 attempts then Connect back to your WiFi and connect to the server which hasn’t connected after five times trying. Absolutely frustrated! Terrible and definitely won’t get other devices for a smart home based on this.

Bad App. avoid at all costs. This is a very poor app. It does not deserve even one star. Why did u even bother?(rhetorical). I can’t reconnect with the vacuum thru the app. I cannot schedule the vacuum thru the app. When the app says I’m disconnected from WiFi when u am obviously not there is no way to fix problem. I under u r a big company n only care about money and giving your investors money but maybe just maybe u can make a app as a gesture to your customers. Overall I’m disappointed in Samsung

Very unstable and AI is aweful. I have iRobot and Samsung. While mechanically The Samsung is stronger the AI and mapping of the iRobot is hands down superior. The Samsung bashes around like a blind rodent with huge missed areas. The return to home literally traces its last breadcrumbs whereas the iRobot optimizes the floorplan and route home. Have to continuously reload the app and reconnect the device to the WiFi and I suspect this has much to do with its distinction. Overall this is an overpriced product begging for a decent app and cloud based AI.

Horrible App.... Very poorly designed, looks and feels like it was made for the 3rd gen of iphone. Crashed on my first time opening it, and I can’t even activate my account because the email won’t come through. It’s less of a hassle to just get up and turn your appliance on. This app was made for “convenience” which is a joke because the app is everything but. All I wanted to do was turn moisture sensor off on my dryer. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The worst app in the store. I don’t understand why Samsung even bothers. Every time I want to do anything with this app I have to login and type in a captcha. Why can’t it remember this like other apps or at least use finger print/Face ID to login? On top of that I have not succeeded to connect either my cooktop or my oven. I can connect to the Setup Wi-Fi but then invariably something goes wrong and it fails the setup procedure.

Please Fix. Spent thousands of dollars on Samsung products. This app previously worked, now for over 2 months it will not connect to server. Customer service pretends to be unaware of problem. Please put some effort and resources into the promised performance of your app and products. Without a functioning app, it makes all of my Samsung PowerBot Vacuums virtually worthless. I expected a lot more dedication to customer service. Shame on you Samsung for misrepresenting to your consumers! I’d give zero stars to this app if it was an option.

Primitive. This is quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. We purchased a split mini room AC and assumed the remote control through the app would function like the normal remote. It did at first but now has changed to where you basically can turn it on and off and a few basic commands through the “chat” function. Ridiculous! I highly recommend you check out the limited functionality before buying.

App doesn’t work. I downloaded this app to control my Samsung robot vacuum. Created a Samsung account with no problems. There is an obnoxious amount a captcha things you have to decipher during the process to prove your not a robot. When it comes time to connect your phone to the vacuum via WiFi, the app won’t recognize that my phone is connected to the vacuum and I can’t go any further. I usually don’t review apps, but this app is as bad as they say. Waste of time.

Totally Nonfunctional App!!. Failed repeated frustrating attempts to connect very expensive new Samsung Powerbot remote vacuum to this worthless app on my iPhone 8. After following poorly written instructions to Add Device the screen locks up. Can’t go forward with Next and the Back arrow cancels the whole process! The version history shows months of updates for “minor bugs and performance improve”. That’s great...what about fixing the MAJOR bug that prevents a customer from even using the app with the app as advertised??!! This is not worthy of the Samsung brand.

One star is too high. This App never remembers your password, or uses Touch ID or Face ID. It can eventually find my washer or dryer but it won’t connect to their server, so I can never actually set one up. I’ve tried from multiple I-devices on the latest and older iOS versions. I spend about $2800 for some smart appliances and the app is not useful, nor can I set up my laundry notifications, which was our main reason to spend more for these models. I’ll be calling Samsung support but it seems these reviews aren’t generating any interest from Samsung...

Bad to worse. I purchased a washer & dryer last year, and was very disappointed that I then had to pay another $50 ($25 USD each) to make my ‘smart’ devices connect. I paid the $ and for that I was notified when my washer or dryer was done, as well as being able to see how much time was left in the cycle. Now with the release of iOS 11, I don’t get notifications anymore. This app went from almost useless to totally useless. Does anyone from Samsung care? I’ve tried calling support, but after being transferred 5 times, I figured out that no one there supports this. I have SmartThings as well, and it works fine. But the group that supports Samsung SmartThings does not support Samsung SmartHome. I regret purchasing the Samsung washer/dryer as the #1 feature I wanted was connectivity.

Much improved. There was an update today for the app and it has improved greatly. I can now control both my washer and dryer again. Also the “connecting to server” error is no longer there. If the app continues this way then I will be happy. Update (1/7/18): Back to the app just saying “connecting to server.” This is the most inconsistent and horribly written app i have ever had. At this point i spent extra money on a “smart” was her and dryer that are not really that smart.

Does not work, crashes. You’d think you guys could spend some time making sure this app is perfect. This is one of your selling features that’s pushed on the sales floor. It crashes constantly, doesn’t connect and is pretty pointless if you have to stand next to the appliance to push smart control button. I thought I’d be able to preheat oven from upstairs or on way home. Turn on dryer for few mor minutes. False advertising

App is Crapp. The app CONSTANTLY asks you to sign. I registered in the app but then it crashed (like others have mentioned). Once I restarted to connect to my range, my iPhone can see and connect to the range’s “WiFi”, but doesn’t display the actual connection icon and thus the app cannot connect to the range. Each and every attempt prompts me to log in again. Ironic that Samsung is known for its high tech, but their app is really low tech.

Garbage!!! Waste!!! What technology!!!. The washer app home app. Whatever. It’s a waste of money for the upgrade. You will have a hard time just logging into it. Along with your Samsung tv!! It’s confusing and I’m a very simple gal. It doesn’t connect!! How hard could it be!! My hello kitty Speakers haven’t given me any issues in 6 years. Yet for 5 months I can’t connect my washer & dryer to the app nor the Tv!!!!! I want to bash it in!! Samsung garbage technology. Sooo difficult!

Total garbage. Why did they even bother releasing this app in this state? I wouldn't call this an Alpha product let alone release worthy. It crashes on startup almost every single time, when it doesn't crash there is almost no functionality. I downloaded it and ignored everyone's negative reviews. Thinking "my experience will be different". It wasn't. Too bad their mobile app dev team isn't nearly as good as their product dev teams!

App won’t open. First, Don’t get me started on Samsung support it is atrocious. First, I tried their Smart Things app. My washer model isn’t one of the supported models for that app. Then they said to use Samsung Smart Washer which since my model of washer doesn’t have a Smart Care menu I was told to use this app (Smart Home) which never fully loads. Guess I can cross off Samsung from purchasing in the future.

Peace of junk. Multi-million dollar company and this kind a cheap work on App?? Wow Samsung...charging lots of money for your product and not delivering a service I have smart robot paid over$500 and a peace of junk start automatically,without turning on, doesn’t work with Apps I mean doesn’t let me connect to Apps makes lots of noise when working, even start automatically in middle of the night 😖😖 makes me woke up I wish I can return it to the Samsung but it’s too late Never ever deal with Samsung now Samsucks

Very poor work. Took me about 30 min’s to setup my parents new cooktop. The app would log me out and have log back in to setup a new device. Then connecting to the smart home server took forever as well. Tried the app with my iPhone and all it does is try to connect to the server with no success. Not sure if it’s not compatible with my iPhoneX or the 11.2 update. Ether way this app needs to be completely redone, and done correctly.

When it works, it's 2 stars. Almost gave it 2 star because the beta I was on worked better than the production version, but it just stopped running at all; the production version typically crashes and/or won't find my fridge. The dev group gave me access to a beta update and it did work better (no crashing, could view fridge remotely, etc.) however it still didn't work well with SmartThings app and now it won't run at all - it just crashes right away upon launch. The beta may have run out. So sad this doesn't work!

No connectivity. I agree with all the other reviews. If it had a no star rating I would do that one. It makes no sense to edify a brand that doesn’t go out of its way to edify the buyer by simply fixing the connection issues. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Just take the app off. All it does is crash

Servers down?. This worked for about six months, but ever since the last update a week ago I go through a sequence where the app says I need to sign in, I do, and then it says the connection between smart home and the server is down and I need to sign in. Before that it kept on saying that I needed to update my washer and dryer but would never do so. I also had massive issues with a previous Samsung refrigerator, so I think this will be my last purchase of a Samsung device as it shouldn’t be this difficult to simply work.

Horrible software for Dishwasher. It simply does not work. Do not waste your time if you have the waterfall dishwasher. It says "unable to control device. Please turn on the smart control option with your remote controller" Then when you go to turn it in the app it says that only monitoring available. It doesn't make any sense. This is my 2nd Samsung Waterwall. The first one broke in less than a year. Then it got fixed then broke again because the waterwall wouldn't move. So I got this upgraded version. I think I am regretting this purchase.

App and wifi worthless. I spent good money on my high end oven and have plenty of bandwidth ( even for the three seconds the app connected it said strong signal) and has not once connected again. Tried worthless app chat tech support, sent me manual. Lol. The manual says to press menu button and there is not even a menu button. Figured out all of that and still says disconnected. Why in the world would you sell/advertise something that doesn't work. Now im stuck paying 25% restocking fee to Nebraska Furniture Mart. Samsung, you will be hearing from me.

This app is awful for iPhone users.. I have an iPhone and my husband has a Samsung phone. We both have the app for our dryer. He gets notifications when the dryer is done, door is open etc. I on the other hand get nothing. I have to have the app open and phone unlocked to see the status of the dryer. I get none of the alerts my husband does. I also have to reconnect to the dryer every time it turns off. This app is great for Samsung phone owners but worthless for iPhone.
