Doesn’t Work. Just bought a new Samsung sound bar. The app is needed to tune the sound bar remotely. This app will not pair with the sound bar using my iPhone 15. Very frustrating.

Sucks. Samsung comes out with a SmartThings app so you could have everything all in one place and then they try and come out with this app to change that for some reason. Can’t even get past the network set up sound bar is connected to a 5 GHz only network and so isn’t my phone and all it gives me an option to do is go to settings.

App Won’t Add Soundbar. The app finds my S60 soundbar and asks me to add it. The soundbar detects that I’m trying to add it and I have to press a button on it to “pair”. Then it says to connect to the same WiFi network, which I have confirmed through the eero app, but refuses to accept that my phone and soundbar are actually on the same network. Useless

Doesn’t work. SmartThings told me to install this instead for my soundbar. SmartThings works perfectly fine with the soundbar connecting over Bluetooth. This app seems to not support Bluetooth, and WiFi doesn’t work at all.

Works well. Not sure why so many negative reviews, I was able to connect to my soundbar within seconds.

No surround speaker setup. Cannot use private listening mode as in SmartThings app that allows nighttime private listening.

Just doesn’t work. Will not detect my soundbar. It’s connected to my phone and the app can’t find it. Worthless.

Update now won’t connect. Latest app update now won’t connect network to S series soundbar, During setup after pressing “minus” to connect to soundbar the next step is stuck. It keeps saying to connect mobile device to same network as speaker, which it already is connected to.

Trash. Despite a hard reset of all devices twice, app still wouldn’t connect to Samsung Soundbar Q Series. Not as bad as any Apple product, yet, but certainly a pattern is emerging with their products and software.

Doesn’t work with Samsung ultra slim sound bar. Have to say Samsung‘s apps seem to be about 10% on even working with their own products and this app is yet another in a long line of those unfortunate failures. It detects my Samsung Q Symphony Ultra Slim sound bar, but does not connect to it successfully and just gets stuck in an infinite loop of connection attempt 🤷

Useless app. Looks like some product manager did some vibe coding and released this app without testing to make sure it works. What a horrible app, trying to Get the speakers to airplay is playing operation and all you get is buzzed.

Incredibly buggy app. Keeps hanging, every time I try to connect it gets to a different step. Finally got to the last step where uou name the device and it failed when making the name. Also sound bar stopped working with the old app, I guess we’re samsung QA now doesn’t seem like they bothered to test this at all

Q990H. Total Garbage! doesn’t work with iPhone would give zero stars if I could.

Official App Non-Support. The official Samsung Sound app,….wait for it….excludes support for ALL of last years (2025) Samsung Soundbar models ie/ HW-Q9**F. Over there in Gumi,S Korea you guys are really smoking too much KimChi

What’s the point of this app even?. You can’t even connect to your soundbar which is the entire point of this apps existence, so instead of me trying to use the hdmi for my sound bar I had to Bluetooth it thankfully it still works well but this app did nothing to help me out at all. Idek how this app got verified to be on the App Store

No connection. Downloaded as instructed for my q990h soundbar, app immediately pulled up the model and would not connect to the device. Downloaded the SmartThings app instead and had no issues. Samsung needs to discontinue this app and modify their instructions, frustrating experience.

Pandora Request. Please add Pandora music to the apps option. And also, add the option to turn the soundbar OFF.

WiFi Limitation. After much frustration, I was able to add my Q990H soundbar to the app. The soundbar requires a 5G-only WiFi network; it will not connect to multiband WiFi. Some people may find success by creating a 5G-only guest network, then connecting your phone to that network before trying to add the soundbar to the app. If possible, allow guest network devices to access your local network (LAN). This will allow you to go back to your main WiFi network and still access the soundbar from the app.

Broken. App always shows “Connection failed” when connecting to a new 2026 Samsung soundbar. Zero stars if I could.

Cannot Connect Soundbar. My Q990D is connected perfectly within the SmartThings app. I can control it, WiFi works just fine, Bluetooth works fine, everything works fine in that app. When I tried to connect it using this app, it prompted me to re-connect to WiFi (?) (it’s already connected) which then failed but I can’t even remove it from the app now. I switch back to SmartThings and everything works fine. This app is currently absolutely useless and certainly riddled with bugs as many others have pointed out. There’s no point in even having this app when everything works just fine on the other one. The UI feels a lot less detailed here too. Things just look “pixelated” compared to the crystal clear UI of SmartThings.

Q series soundbar with rear speakers. Ever since update, my soundbar keeps disconnecting from my wifi. It is very frustrating! Please fix with update!!!!

Useless. Bought brand new soundbar (Q990H) doesn’t connect with the app. Great start Samsung. What’s next I wonder.

Never connects. This app is useless, brand new soundbar and can’t connect it to the app control it. Expect a lot more from Samsung.

Still needs work. Downloaded to group play speakers. Added Q800D no probs, no luck with Q70T. App just hangs looking for devices, tried QR code, no luck….had to force close to exit out of the searching function, and stopped there.

Getting much better. A rough start but now looking good as additional hardware is supported. It would have been good to advise users when they attempt to add a model if it is supported yet or not.

Not compatible with Q800H. The quick start guide links to this app but the app fails to connect to this device.

Doesn’t connect to brand new soundbar bar. Doesn’t connect to Newly released soundbar

Worked with Music Frame. Simple switch from the Smarthings app over to this one. Just pushed the volume down button, updated firmware in app and up and running.

Will not connect to soundbar. Nothing I do will get this app to recognize the existence of the soundbar. Letting it scan, using the QR code, etc. App will not connect to WiFi. Does not show up in the list of apps that want local network access! Junk! I was hoping for an app that would give faster access than SmartThings, but this app is just broken!

Doesn’t connect to HW-Q990F. How come the software support an older version of the Hardware HW-Q990D but Doesn’t connect to HW-Q990F

Won’t connect to other speakers. I can connect to one speaker, but any subsequent speaker I add will not even attempt to connect as it won’t show up in the app
