Amazing business power tool. My goodness! This calculator will knock your socks off as soon as you get it, learn it, and start using it. It is literally the best tool you can get if you have anything to do with finance, real estate, or business in general. I can’t thank the developer enough for bringing it to us at such an affordable price. Because it—bluntly and directly—blows away all the other 12c clones out of the water.

Best HP emulator. This is an incredibly good calculator: possibly better than the HP Original because of its spreadsheets that help keep your functions organized as a help to keep your understanding of the financial calculations correct.

My go to app when I wanna do FV calculations. I love this app. It’s so useful. Worth every cent. Great job by the developer. I do wish that the templates/worksheets were easier to use. I feel lost most of the time in there. Video tutorials would be helpful I think.

Very good HP-12c Emulation. Better than the original HP calculator, by far. It is much faster. I like the ability to save the tape. If you are not familiar with RPN, but you use a calculator app on your phone, you owe it to yourself to take the 5 minutes it takes to learn how to use it. Much easier on your brain and much less likely to make mistakes, once you get used to it. This emulation is easy to read, particularly if you prefer a different color scheme. I would give it 10 stars if it had an option to turn it into a scientific calculator.

President. This 12Calc application is so convenient to use and is fully complete. It is my go-to calculator for everything! Many in-depth instructions are included. I use it very often and exclusively, and I find it incredibly convenient.

Better than HP 12C. I received my first 12C over 40 years ago when I worked for HP. It was and still is the best financial calculator ever developed. Thanks I still have it, but I prefer this APP version of the HP 12C. The developer has taken full advantage of Apple’s application development to provide an experience that improves upon the physical version from HP. Completely recommend. I was urged to get an app instead of buying an actual HP12C calculator and I’m so glad I got this one. I had a question for Tech Support and I got an answer in 15 minutes! In a way, calculator apps are pretty interchangeable but this app’s tech support really can’t be beat.

Awesome App. I LOVE this free 12Calc app! I’ve used it on both my iPhone and iPad for years and it just keeps getting better (which I didn’t even think was possible). Best HP 12c app hands down. I use my physical 12C Platinum a lot, but sometimes it’s not practical to have it with me. For me, this app is superior to the physical device not only because I’m more likely to have it with me, but it can display the tape as well as show the stack. Other HP RPN calculators show the stack and I always found it annoying that the 12C didn’t. One simple addition would turn the tables on my physical device and make this app perfect is to be able to copy the result so I can paste it into my bookkeeping or spreadsheets on my iPad. I’m thinking a tap or click (iPad) on the result should copy the result. It appears there is no way to get the results out of this app outside of remembering them and typing them into other apps manually— lame! Outside of that minor annoyance, this app is full featured, resizable on iPad, snappy (I’ve found others are weirdly laggy) and worth every penny.

This is the gold standard of Financial Calculators.. , Long before the personal computer, iPhones and the internet the HP 12C. calculator provided the answers to my financial calculations. Now my favorite calculator is as close as my phone, it’s always with you. This app has additional features not found on the original HP. The currency converter is very accurate and uses current exchange rates. Best of all, the app cost less than a set of replacement batteries for your legacy HP 12C.

Much like the HP finance calculator it emulates.. This calculator has the familiar finance functions that have been standard in most finance calculators released after the famous HP 12C hit the market over 40 years ago. It also has a few more functions than the HP original. Works in both portrait and landscape modes. It’s a nice emulator, better than others I’ve seen.

Great app. I started out years ago with Hewlett-Packard’s 38 E which was innovative and later moved to the 12C which continues to be terrific. The 12Calc app has all the features and then some and is my go to app for all my financial calculations. You can’t find a better financial calculator app.

Retired. A great version of the best calculator of it’s era. I still have my HP12c and use it. Fantastic to have one wherever I am. This iPhone version is fantastic. I also have my original HP12c and use it every day.

Better than my 12C!. I have used a 12C for over 30 years. In fact, I still have my original HP12C but don’t even take it out of the desk drawer now that I have Ernie’s version. It’s like a 12C on steroids! AWESOME! I love that Ernie continues to offer free updates to this already excellent app. I work in retail tech and can’t begin to tell you how many times I use this app to calculate discounts, pricing and financing options. It’s makes my job so much easier.

Retiree. I love your product, but it has a few quirks that make it a little different than my original HP 12C standalone calculator. In any event, yours is the best one I’ve come across that is in app form. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the upgrade.

Excellent. A 12C emulation that meets and far exceeds the technology of the original. I’ve tried many 12C apps over the years but this one is the keeper. The included tables are pure genius. The ability to amortize payments and see the calculations by month (and quickly verify or change my entries) is a huge time saver and I especially like the printable audit tape. I use this app nearly every day and have come to rely on it. So much that I’d be willing to subscribe to annual updates to ensure it remains available and is a sustainable project for the developer.

Formatting is problematic. You can’t get rid of the written instructions presented alongside the actual calculator if you are on the Ipad. It is distracting and unnecessary if you are already familiar with the application’s functionality. It primarily reduces the spatial formatting of the calculator itself. I assume that this was done to improve penetration rates among those individuals that do not know reverse polish notation. The problem is that the 12c caters to a specific community interested in advanced financial applications. If those individuals don’t have an interest in performing these types of functions, then they are likely not going to need to or be interested in this application. Get rid of the instructions.

Proven Gold Standard. I still have the original HP 12 C. It is somewhere in my desk since this application came out for the phone and iPad. I have not used the original. this application has been reliable, accurate, and easy to use. It is my go to calculator.

Better than the actual 12C. I’ve been using a 12C in my real estate appraisal business for 30 years. This app is outstanding. Don’t hesitate to install it. It functions identically to the actual calculator only better.

Fantastic calculator, problematic update. First of all, nothing beats 12Calc. There is no substitute unless you are using a real 12C, but then 12Calc has all the speed of your iPhone. The latest version, however, is problematic as the font is now white instead of black. Depending on your situation it can be very hard to see. I wish I did not upgrade so I could have kept the previous color scheme of black numbers on a lighter background. Update: Years later this app has been maintained and still works wonderfully. Thank you!

A perfect 12C Emulator. This has been my go to 12C since I got my iPhone 6s (now on my iPhone 12). I use it daily. My real 12C has been collecting dust since (but I’ll never discard my decades old pal). This is THE BEST 12C app for iOS; very reasonably priced plus bonus functionality and great in-app help. Thank-you to the developer.

Perfect substitute for the real thing. 12Calc is even better in some ways than a “real” 12C. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s one of the few I find indispensable.

Great App!. I have used the 12-C for nearly 30 years. I don’t know if I’ll ever stop using it since my brain is now wired in reverse polish! Lol this app is a fantastic improvement over the HP in that there is vastly more functionality and built in help. Get it! It’s worth paying for.

The Standard. I used to carry the 12c in my brief case, and for several years I have been accessing the same functions with enhancements on my iPhone. I use this daily, and I recommend it.

Still the best HP12C App Ever After So Many Years! More so now with this latest update!. The updates on this app keep it at the top of my list of most used apps on my iPhone and other Apple devices. I have always owned at least three HP 12C handheld calculators since these came to the market decades ago. I still do today but now that I am on my iPhones and iPads most of every waking hour I find it so convenient to be able to click on Ernest Brock's 12Calc on my iPhones and iPads while working numbers on these devices. I have been a user of Ernest Brock's 12Calc from its first appearance and through its periodic updates with new features as Mr. Brock has again done with this superb 12Calc Version 2.3! I am now 76 years old and since these came out in the market I have used and recommended to family and friends both the HP12C handheld calculator and Ernest Brock's 12Calc app. I will continue to use and recommend these to anyone looking for timeless products that are classics in their industry. Good job, HP and Ernest Brock! Your excellent products enhance each other like supportive partners, which is how I view and use your products.

The best!. I own 4 12c’s and have used them since way back when they first came out. They now all sit in my desk drawer since I bought this app. It does everything a 12c does and more, plus it does it much faster. Thank you Ernie!

Absolutely the Best Financial Calculator––and Best Developer. This calculator remains the absolute best Financial Calculator in the market. In an earlier review I gave this phenomenal app 5 stars but wanted to give it 100. Now, I want to give it 1,000. Without any doubt, this is the #1 calculator of its kind on the market in this CPA's opinion. I use this every day for a wide variety of professional and personal reasons. In addition to doing all the HP 12-C calculations, it has templates for leases, loans, time value of money, multi-year financial ratios, foreign exchange calculations, etc. I use the conversions feature to help me with calculations necessary when I fly general aviation aircraft. One of the best, most useful features is an electronic "tape," which, amazingly, can be e-mailed as a PDF file for printing if need be. This makes the app substantially more valuable than any physical calculator or any comparable app. When I bought this app for my iPhone, I expected to have to pay again for my iPad, but, no, I could download it onto my iPad for no additional cost. This calculator is outstanding. The developer, Ernie Brock, is a genius. He keeps making his app better and better all while staying ahead of Apple’s iOS changes that impact the functionality of the program. I recommend this fantastic app VERY STRONGLY. It continues to get me through CPA seasons, and it makes calculations of pilotage and dead reckoning much easier when I plan cross country flights.

Outstanding. I relied on an HP 12c throughout my career. This app, with its printable tape, help functions, worksheet features and conversion calculations has taken that old, reliable HP 12C workhorse into the modern age. Probably the most well-designed app in terms of functionality and usability on my iPhone & I-Pad.

Love it. They don’t make the 12cs or the 17bs like they used to, so I gave up trying. I miss having actual buttons to press but having it in my pocket at all times more than makes up for it. Highly recommend!

12Calc. This is the best financial calculator which I have ever used. For example: The financial registers display above the buttons. You can get a tape if you want. There are associated programs where you can get results printed such as an amortization schedule. It has a conversion feature which I really find handy. It will even convert currency. The users manual is really great. I have recommended this calculator to many of my friends and many people at our office use it. I have tried several of these financial calculators and this is by far the best. Thom Cooper

Better than the handheld 12C. This is amazing. Better than having the actual handheld calculator. It’s worth it just to get the worksheets it includes. For example you can enter the basics into an amortization form and email the 30 year (or whatever you input) as a pdf. I had a question and Ernie e-mailed me back to help me. Highly recommend. Thank you Ernie for making such an improvement in the 12C.

Better than the HP 12C!. I needed this app to mirror the 12C and it works perfectly! It is so convenient having it on my phone so I no longer have to carry my calculator with me. I use it many times a day and couldn’t be without it! Thank you for the great program!

Awesome App Great Value. Loaded this on my iPad and saved a ton of money Vs buying a calculator. ( I’m taking a class where I HAVE TO us a HP12C) This does the trick. Plus, when I first opened it I couldn’t get the calculator to cover the whole screen, ( could get rid of the “tape”) Sent a quick note to support, and got an answer in less than an hour. Excellent hp12c emulator. Been using this RPN calculator for 3+ years and couldn’t have been happier with my purchase. When my old physical HP-12c finally died, I had no reason to go looking for a replacement. This app is all I need, at a fraction of the price.

The essential financial app. Being a finance person, I could not possibly work without this essential financial calculator. It has all the necessary financial formulas and applications and a whole lot more. Kudos to the developer for the best performing financial app.

This is the 12c to get. while not as authentic looking as other 12c emulators/clones. This one is by far the best programmed, most complete, and most functional of all the ones available. The converter alone is worth the money. Paid and happy I did. I am a freebie junkie, so that is a ringing endorsement from me!

Great App!. I use this all the time since installed. Seems to work just like the original HP12C, only faster. Once created, programs remain stored indefinitely, which is contrary to another HP12C type app I had where the program was erased after each use. One minor complaint is some of the color schemes make the keys difficult to read.

HP 12C. I have been using the HP12C for more years than I can count. It is super convenient to be able to use those capabilities on my iPhone and iPad. This ap is great and it keeps my RPN capability sharp. The additional power beyond the HP unit is amazing! R Baldwin

Better than ever - HP12C, only WAY Better. This is my update on the best 12C option in the App Store. Why? You can use the HELP section to learn how to use an HP 12C! Tje programmers that created the original HP12C know this programmer too. You get pre-designed worksheets in the App to make the 12C much easier and useful. AND you can send results straight to your printer! Use it for your customer, like the amortization tables just to start! Buy this. You will save a lot of time! Thanks!

Amortization. The previous version I had used calculated everything about a mortgage payment. If I left something blank and hit that button, then it would calculate whatever the information I requested. I.e. interest rate, Payment, years, etc. Now it does not calculate that for me anymore. The previous version worked exactly like my 12 C calculator. Can this be fixed or is there a new way of doing these types of calculations?

HP12c. A great program which you can use instead the actual calculator. Saves space and you always have it on your phone. Tape too! Horizontal and vertical mode does works on both iPhone and iPad! This is a perfect application. Excellent support from developer in case you have a question. This works great with new Apple software. This app is perfect! I recommend it without any reservations! You will love it. Now you can have the HP12C with you on your iPhone and iPad.

This is IT!. I have been an HP-12 user since forever. This app emulates all the features in the original hardware unit while adding many additional functions including a host of conversions. I use almost daily and find it to be always stable, accurate and reliable, while surprising me every now and then with a new feature I discover. THIS is why we buy smartphones- everything you need, always at your side. Fabulous implementation of a wonderful product, only improved. Wonderful accomplishment!!!

The best 12C emulator, and I worked for the company that made the physical calculator.. I’ve had an HP 12C since they first came out. When I bought an iPhone and an iPad, I wanted an emulator that worked at least as well as the physical calculator. My former employer also had a 12C emulator on the App Store, but it was out classed by 12Calc. First off, 12Calc looks great on an iPhone (currently using on a 16 Pro Max) and includes an iPad native full screen app, unlike some other emulators. You can even choose different templates. However, what matters to me is how it works. If you know how to use an HP-12C financial calculator, 12Calc will be immediately familiar. Even if you have never used one, the app provides terrific context-sensitive help. You press the help button, including the “F” and “G” shift functions, and you get an explanation of how to use the calculator. The help feature explains every function in detail and provides useful examples. All the standard 12C functions are there, but there are a bunch of great additions. There are various worksheets for more complicated efforts if you want to track them on the screen. Included are useful conversion tools, so you won’t need a separate conversion app. You can review the memory and even print it out or export to a file. Copy and paste is supported. The developer offers other emulators as well. His TI83/84 graphing calculator emulator (another school/test standard) is impressive. It also provides additional features beyond just the basic calculator emulation. However, if you need the best HP 12C emulator app out there, get 12Calc. There’s even a bundle offered where you can get 12C and additional calculators emulators for discounted price. You won't be disappointed.

My favorite everyday calculator. I've tried countless iOS calculators (seriously, I probably own close to twenty). 12Calc is a perfect blend of classic HP 12C RPN goodness with modern enhancements: worksheets for common tasks, unit conversion, help screens, and improved accuracy. It's also apparent the author is a total calculator nerd and this app has been a labor of love. If you're not in school and you aren't an aerospace engineer, a financial calculator is likely the better choice over a scientific for your day-to-day. And of the financial calculators available for the iPhone, 12Calc is the best of the bunch.

Excellent app. This is a great app; only recommendation is to make the blue on the keys a shade lighter because it is sometimes difficult to read.

Worth every penny and every dollar. This calculator is the best thing since tax laws and depreciation for calculating IRR and mortgage amounts on real estate transactions. You really need this if you ever bother to get in the CRE world.

Great Financial Calculator. Mimics HP-12. This the best calculator for the IPhones of you are used to an HP-12. All functions and more. Tape feature is super useful. That alone worth the price. Works great on both IPhones and IPad.

Better Than My Old HP-12C. I think this version of the HP-12C is better than the original calculator.

This replaced my trusty HP12c. They did a great job of replacing the HP 12 c that I got familiar with coming out of college. With extra features and makes it even better.

Better than a 12c. This app does everything that the 12c does and more. It is well thought out. It functions with excellence. Love it!

IRR and NPV Function Bugs. I can do almost all the simple time value of money calculations with this calculator. When it comes time to storing values or retrieving values that are necessary for Internal Rate of Return or Net Present Value where I have to store values, the calculator fails and gives me impossible results. I believe this is a big; otherwise the documentation is not specified well enough.

Nearly Perfect. It’s better than the real 12C. The only note is that the stock ratio lookup doesn’t work,but that’s seriously nitpicking.

Da best!. I have been a 12C’er since the beginning and am a true deciple of this incredible machine and app. I have owned may of the 12C apps and now only use this app which is clearly the best. Not even close. Da best!

Last update. The app works well. The additional function of seeing the tape is very useful. Worth the investment.

Like the calculator wish I could turn off the tape. Half the screen for a tape/help menu is ok, but could you make it so I can turn that function off?
