Nintendo Music Comments & Reviews 2026
Ok start, but needs more songs. TL;DR If you already have NSO, download it. If you don’t have NSO, I don’t think this app alone will convince you to get it. I already had Nintendo switch online, so I this app was basically free for me. But the $20/yr price for a single membership isn’t worth it for just this app alone. I think the standard NSO package is a good deal with online play, nes/snes/gameboy/gameboy color emulators, and the digital game vouchers. Adding this music service is a nice bonus. This app has some great features built in. Spoiler prevention is nice, and having some pre-made playlists is a nice touch. On the songs it’s available for, the looping works great. Right now the list of songs is pretty barebones, with songs from just over 20 games. Nintendo has said more songs will be added down the line, but still, this is sad. None of the composers are given credit in the app; the track information for each song just includes the name of the song, the game it’s from, and copyright information. Hopefully this is fixed soon. As a Splatoon fan, it’s nice that the Splatoon 3 songs have playlists for each in-universe artist, which is a nice touch.
Great with flaws. The app is very well designed with a layout that seems to take a lot from Apple Music (not a bad thing) and has very good audio quality. However there is a slight stability issue where sometimes when using headphones the app will pause the music and not respond to any input trying to unpause it. There are also no creator credits or profiles which is a huge shame not only for accreditation but also because it’d be very nice to be able to listen to other songs made by an artist who’s made a song you like. The lineup is also really small right now which is a shame. This isn’t an app that needs a slow drip feed to keep a user base, please just release more music and not have us waiting forever like other switch online apps!!!
Good, needs credit and more tracks. I can’t say I am disappointed in this app as a whole. The playback quality is great and there are lots of settings that are innovative since Nintendo is the first game company to have a streaming service for their games’ music. For example, the loop and no spoiler settings. These are great for study sessions and for games you haven’t finished yet. However, there are some issues. I’m slightly disappointed with the fact that you have to have NOS to use the service. But frankly, it isn’t a big problem for me considering that I use the NOS anyway. Also, the cost is low compared to other platforms. I know 20 bucks a year can be a lot but if you compare it to other companies’ charges it is practically nothing. Anyway, I am very angry that you didn’t include the composers and musicians who made the music. What’s the point of having a track information area if it just has the name of the game it’s from and copyright Nintendo? I am also shocked at the low number of games. There are so many good music and good games you made with 0 MUSIC on the platform you made just for your games’ music. Also, if your tactic here is to advertise new games, why don’t you include new games? The most recent game (Wonder) you have on the service released more than a year ago now. Why won’t you include Jamboree and Echoes of Wisdom? Good, but you need to add more games and surely give the musicians and composers credit for writing a good song.
High hopes. I’m so happy that Nintendo is finally making their music accessible after years of fan demand. There’s definitely great soundtracks to choose from as of now such as Mario Galaxy and Breath of the Wild, but there is certainly a want for more as there are only a little more than 20 available soundtracks at the moment. It’s understandable that putting these tracks on streaming services can take some time, but I pray that new additions won’t take quite as long as additions to the NSO games catalogue. Additionally, there are plenty of things I’m already loving such as the curated themed playlists, extending the duration of songs up to 60 minutes, and little things like separating Splatoon songs by the in-universe artists. I hope we can get more great soundtracks soon like the music of David Wise in the other Donkey Kong Country installments, the iconic sound of Pokémon, and the beautiful and exciting music of Xenoblade.
2 months without any new music yet. The app has been released for over two months at this point and no additional music has been added yet since the initial release of the app, thus the three star review at this time. I like the options that are available, especially the option to loop certain songs. But until they add additional songs, the app is just too basic. I hope Nintendo decides to add many more games, also hoping they can release 3rd party releases if they can strike deals with major players like Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, and more. Then with current music, for example "Ocarina of Time", they should also include additional tracks such as the original Fire Temple theme. Once the app is improved a lot more with more music added on a more timely basis, the app will deserve a better review.
Finally! An official way to listen to Nintendo Music! But it's stuck in a separate app.... I really, really want to like Nintendo's new music app. I love the music featured in their games, and the starting lineup of games to pick from are strong. They've even got some cool features like being able to extend any song up to an hour! Unfortunately, the fact that Nintendo has segregated its music to a different app hurts my enjoyment of it significantly. I want to listen to Nintendo music ALONGSIDE everything on Apple Music, not pick one or the other. I'm really glad they're giving us an official way to listen to their music without resorting to fan uploads or buying overpriced imports from Japan, but it looks like I'll be sticking to those methods, since I can listen to those with iTunes.
Great app to use.. This is a great app to use. I love video game music and have for a number of years. Sometimes getting soundtracks officially from websites can be hard to do. So this is the next best thing. Yes I’ve had to label some buttons so that my speech could read them but that’s OK. I wish that you didn’t have to have a Nintendo membership to use this app but it is what it is. Hopefully Nintendo will change this. I can’t really complain much about this. There’s maybe one drawback and it’s very small. When you’re done shuffling a playlist, it would be nice if the playlist would repeat itself so that way you don’t have to go back and hit the play button again to shuffle. If there is a way to do this, maybe somebody can answer this review and tell me how to do it.
An Honest Opinion. This has been something Nintendo fans, such as myself, have been wanting for ages and having it is wonderful. If you’re anything like me and grew up listening almost exclusively to video game music, this is nothing but a lovely blast from the past and slowly is being more used than my actual regular music app! It’s got great quality audio and even includes music from cutscenes which was a nice surprise. All around it’s a wonderful app. However, The lack of selection is what everyone in this comment section is saying, and I for one agree. Yes we have more major tracks added now, but we still need more. Even the lack of Switch Titles is shocking to me. It’s just a bit lacking in the titles department. On top of that it’s a bit hard making playlists and such and not being able to send them to my friends who don’t have Nintendo Online. That’s sad as well. It feels like a wonderful deal for those who have online but unfair to those who don’t. I for one still need titles like Splatoon, Tomodachi Life, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Mario Kart Wii, DS built in console Music, Miitopia, and other Wii titles like Wii Party, Wii Play, and such to be fully happy. However since the addition of Splatoon 2 I have very content. 8/10 app Nintendo but you can do better.
Really Great Start. The app has only been out for about six hours at the time of this review, so obviously I don’t expect perfection but technically speaking this app works really well and has a really smooth UI. Audio quality is also great. So far there’s only about 20 soundtracks available, but we’ll see how it shapes up when it comes to frequency of new soundtrack additions. Only real complaints so far is a lack of credits to composers/performers. Being able to filter by certain composers would be a great addition that could help people listen to songs that they wouldn’t have considered otherwise. Plus, it would be nice to give credit to the great people who made these songs.
A Great Start. I’ve been a fan of Nintendo’s music ever since I first played a Nintendo game when I was a child. I was always sad that there was no legal way to stream their music so when this app was announced, I was jumping with excitement. This first release has an impressive feature set: the ability to extend songs as well as hide music from games to avoid spoilers are both genius ideas that I haven’t seen implemented in any other app. It also has common features like downloading songs for offline playback and also background listening. I took off 2 stars because the catalog of available soundtracks is currently very small and I also would like to see them credit the composers for each song. I also would like to see official CarPlay support as well as an Apple Watch app so that I can stream songs from my Watch without needing to have my phone on me. But besides those things, this is a big step in the right direction and I’m excited to see what Nintendo does with this service in the future.
Awesome App, Very Minor Flaws. I love finally being able to get high quality, official Nintendo soundtracks, the best original music in video games if you ask me. My only gripes are the small (and mostly modern) collection; and some controls, such as reordering songs in the queue, are a little clunky. I’m sure both of these will get better with time, the app’s been out for less than a week. I also agree that the composers and musicians behind the songs should be credited for their incredible work. I know that no one cares or asked, but my recommendations for soundtracks to add are Super Mario Sunshine, F-Zero X, the Wii U’s menu and channel music, and the GameCube’s menu music.
Really great, but one big issue. The sound quality is practically perfect, and the categorization being done with the songs is really cool. Being able to extend tracks is awesome, and the spoiler prevention feature will probably come in handy as newer games get added. The starting selection is small, but I can look past that because of all the things I just mentioned, which probably increase the amount of work needed to add each song. However, one big thing that bothers me is that none of the songs list who composed/arranged them. This is such basic standard information that every other music streaming app has, and it’s downright insulting to the people who worked on the music that it’s not here in this app. Why bother having a “Track Information” button that just lists the song name and “(c) Nintendo”? Your games have credits, so why not the music?
request for extend track settings. hey nintendo music team member! i’m loving this app so far, the ability to listen to all my favorite soundtracks in HQ is amazing. i’m hoping you guys could add a feature to extend all eligible tracks in a playlist at the push of a button, as it seems like you have to extend each one manually every time a new track plays. this would be super useful when creating a sleepy time playlist, instead of compiling a bunch of tracks and having to manually extend each of them, imagine if you could set each extendable track to your desired time right from the playlist edit menu!
Great app but lacking something. This is a really good app for listening to your favourite Nintendo Tracks. I have been using it since it released and have no regrets. It has been wonderful to use and the UI is easy to use and very straightforward. However there are some issues with bugs such as not being able to download a song without favouriting it and vice versa. Mastering on some songs is weird. It took me a while to realize that the “top tracks” that pop up when you click on the game is not the full track list from that game; the full list can be hard to find if you don’t know to look for it. More game soundtracks being added in the future would be great, like Pokemon Sword and Shield or other Pokemon games and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a great app but feels like it’s missing something; it could be the limited choice of games. An option to view lyrics for some songs would be good, but not required to make a good app. 4/5 in total.
would give 5 stars but missing the following USA titles only games. nes: Mario Bros 3, Star Tropic, Crystalis, Tetris, Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland snes: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, Final Fantasy 2/4, Final Fantasy 3/5, Mario Paint, Super Mario World, Mario Is Missing, Mario Kart, Zoop, Doom, Illusions Of Gaia, Aquanoid, Earthbound, Bubsy 1 & 2, Yoshi’s Cookie, Tetris Attack, Toy Story, The Lion King, Aladdin… n64: Diddy Kong Racing, Quest 64, Donkey Kong 64, Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, Pokémon Snap, Glover, Mega Man Legends, Bomberman Hero, Bomberman World, Mischief Maker, Legend of the Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon, The New Tetris, Mickey’s Magical Tetris, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Super Mario 64, Harvest Moon 64, Super Smash Bros… gb: Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Green, Tetris, Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, gbc: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Tetris Attack, gba: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen, Tetris World, Harvest Moon: (More) Friends of Mineral Town, Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, gc: Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros Melee, Pikmin 1 & 2, Pokémon Coliseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Mario Kart Doubledash, Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Once ALL of these titles are added, Then I would give this app a 5 Star Rating only… also ADD ALL these titles to the Nintendo Switch Online Apps… (including those for the GameCube)
Amazing!. I love this app so much! There are so many songs that I have been wanting to listen to, especially from the Splatoon series. I only have a couple gripes however, I am hoping that more music will be added, such as adding the rest of Off The Hook, Squid Sisters, and Deep Cut songs! The sorting system is easy to navigate by being cut up by game, so it’ll be easy for a kid to navigate as well. The app lets you jump right in, and make your own playlists, as well as suggest popular songs. I’m hoping as Nintendo adds more that the series will be a group, then split into separate game, like say adding more Mario or legend of Zelda game soundtracks. So far this is an incredible development from Nintendo that I was unaware was even in development!
Decent; but still a ways to go. So excited to see where this goes! As of now things are rough; that’s to be expected. I feel like my biggest complaints are the lack of selection to start with; They definitely could’ve thrown in a little bit more, say 30 games or so. And not having every song, while understandable, is a little disappointing. What’s more upsetting is none of the composers who wrote these beautiful songs are credited for their work here! That should be a bare minimum. Less important critiques are that the app is a little bland feeling currently; could use a bit more Nintendo charm. And last, it takes a little while for some songs to load; hopefully they can fix that in a later update. But as far as the app as a whole goes; it’s awesome to have a hub for Nintendo music and has nearly every feature you could ask for and then some! Hopefully it continues to improve as time goes on.
Pretty good but lackluster. Im a die hard Nintendo fan and when i heard that this was real i was excited. I them downloaded the app to see what it was like and i also watched the trailer to see what songs they had, it was wayy more in the trailer but in reality its way less. I get that you guys have to work on your new console and all but you guys could’ve Atleast put more songs on it when it released. And thats not my actual complaint, its the fact you guys ONLY add a single game soundtrack ONCE A WEEK, YES ONLY ONE! You can add atleast two or three soundtracks a week at different times or something, but this will take absolutely forever to get songs we want.
Amazing, one suggestion. I love this app. It’s amazing concept, amazing app, stuff like that. I have one problem and I mean it’s not so much of a problem or a complaint as a minor suggestion. The one thing I would like to see in this app is being able to search in a playlist. Other than that and needing an online membership, it’s amazing. Also, I really hope to see more music from more games. The current selection is a bit lacking. However, I do understand that this app is pretty new and will be updated with more music eventually. Again, if you love video game music (and happen to have a Nintendo online membership…) this app is perfect
FINALLY!!! Been waiting for 6 months, so tysm!!!. I have been constantly having to use Apple Music to listen to people trying to recreate the music. My only problem is sometimes that you’ve already said you would fix over time, which is the limited tracks. Simply add SMRPG songs, Pokemon Sword/Shield songs, and the tracks from that first 4 Animal Crossings and I’m completely set. Other than the fact different versions of these songs are also interesting to listen to, I will probably never go back to using the recreations. Tysm for making this app. It must have taken a lot of work to take this long to release(ACNH has over 400 tracks alone). So THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Added note:both 5:00 snowy in ACNH are not extended playback as well as most Pokemon scarlet/violet music
Finally, but keep going. I am so thankful Nintendo is giving us a legitimate way to listen to their music. While I’m mildly disappointed I can’t add it to my traditional music apps to mix in with other music, having it included with my Switch Online subscription makes this less painful of an option. Two operation gripes: No CarPlay interface. I mostly listen to music in the car and annoyed I have to grab for my phone to start a playlist or change. Also, no game or artist name shows in the Player controls in iOS, just the track title, making it annoying to switch back to the app if I’m not familiar with this track to get more info.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!. I have always thought they should make a Nintendo music thing like this. And then they finally did! I downloaded it straight away, and was able to download my favorites, such as Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 8, Zelda, both breath of the wild and ocarina of time! Mario odyssey, and one of my favorites, Animal Crossing!! If I could, this app would be rated 4 and a HALF. Only because of some unfortunate bugs( which I’m sure will be fixed eventually) but that is why it has to be 4 and a half. The bugs that I noticed was that if you stay on looking at all the songs for a while, the app will overload, and will act glitchy and possibly kick you out. It also delays a little. One last thing, Nintendo, PLEASE add Zelda Tears of the kingdom and Pokémon Arceus. Thank you.
Great app but slow library building. I’ve been using the app since it was announced and its features and systems are pretty well executed. For me, it’s an enjoyable way to listen to Nintendo’s music. At this point, my only complaint is how slow updating the music library is. They’re currently introducing a new game OST once a week, which to put it into perspective, is 52 games a year if they’re consistent. Given how massive Nintendo’s game library is, that’s not. They did release 3 games once and then they’ve done one game a week up to now. I would appreciate if more games were released each week so the library can grow faster and people can listen to the games they want to sooner.
A great start. Finally, Nintendo made their music available to stream! I was so excited when this was announced. I love the feature that lets you extend a track up to an hour; that’s brilliant. I also appreciate the option to turn off songs that will give you game spoilers! I just have a couple issues with the app: first, the song writers and voice actors should to be credited. I want to see names like Koji Kondo and Alice Peralta in the song descriptions, because they absolutely deserve it! Second, there are barely any songs currently available! There’s only music from two Zelda games, half of one Splatoon game, one Mariokart game, etc. I know they said they would be adding more music, but I hope it’s sooner than later, cause there’s a lot missing that I want to listen to!
A must have for Nintendo fans who’ve been playing for a while!. This music app has been phenomenal and I honestly find it being more of my go to than any other music app out there. Since launch, they’ve added A LOT of music from so many games so I’m not too worried about burning out on the music anytime soon! One of the main things I like is they have playlists that are regularly curated to help keep things feeling fresh and different. For example, we just had a lot of snow where I’m from and I was able to listen to a playlist that’s specifically music from snow levels of various games! I also like listening to their Good Night playlist as I’m getting ready for bed. Plus, for me, when I’m listening to music I generally just want it for some background music to listen to while I do other things. That’s literally what the majority of video game music is for, so this has truly been perfect for me! If you’re already paying for the Nintendo membership then it’s definitely something you should check out. Honestly, with as cheap as the Nintendo online membership is, if you’ve been thinking of signing up this might be what makes it worth it for you!
A good peripheral for your Nintendo subscription. I use this app far more than I thought I would. I am an avid listener to video game music and this app scratches that itch. If you already have a Nintendo subscription this is a great addition to have. I would not however create a Nintendo account and pay a subscription solely for access to this app, but if you already have one, what a great perk! The library is still a bit sparse given the mountain of music Nintendo has at their disposal so hopefully they expand that as time goes on. That being said some classic N64 titles are featured in the current library. Overall, I’m pleased and look forward to an expanded library.
Great but a few things. Firstly, I love how we have a place to hear our favorite game songs with great quality. The app is visually pleasing and easy to navigate. As another reviewer pointed out, there is no composer/musician credits. A game’s music is just as important as a game’s gameplay. Would anyone really find a game with awful and gyrating music as rememberable and enjoyable as one with amazing music? Such amazing composers deserve to be credited for their contributions! Another thing I believe this app can benefit from is adding lyrics so songs with singing. For example: Jump up, super star! Adding lyrics can be a great benefit, because it allows your fans to sing along to their favorite songs. I look forward to additional music being added. Especially from Princess Peach: Showtime! 👀
Great Idea, Will Become Better with Time. It seems like someone at Nintendo finally has a pulse on extended fan products, and I love to see it. Much thought has gone into this app, and there’s a decent depth of options. There’s two things that would make it a phenomenal app (for me) though: more varied theme playlists like water, dancing, and study music, and a deeper collection of music. I would give anything to hear the Pokemon ranger and pokepark soundtracks again, outside of just replaying the games to experience all of it again. I understand that you want to push the newer games, but I think the people that are involved as far as to have a music app are ones that have been around longer and want some older tracks you can’t easily find elsewhere.
Great video game music app!. This app is a pretty awesome bonus for Nintendo Switch Online users. I've already used it to blast Splatoon 3 Turf War music in my car on my way to work, so thank you for that! There are also no ads, and almost every track has its own screenshot depicting the scene from the game it plays in! I do wish you could extend music from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, however. In the future, I would absolutely love to see music from Splatoon 3 Side Order, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Pokemon Sword and Shield! It would be great to see artist and composer credits for each track as well so I can really appreciate them!!
Need Nintendo online membership. Honestly I was pretty exited for this app. It looked cool and the no spoiler feature is an awesome idea. The app is free, which is cool, but you have to have an online membership to use any function of the app. Honestly I am not really surprised but still disappointed to realize this. I don’t believe that Nintendo will change this either, but having a pay wall to listen to music like this is just kind of unfair to the people who like their games and music but can’t afford to have an online membership; or people who don’t have internet and don’t want to spend extra money on something that they can’t get the most out of anyway. -- I also think that having to sign in at all is not needed. Not everybody who has a switch has a linked Nintendo account. So I think it would be cool if you could listen as a guest, but have the option to sign in. When signed in as a guest, you are not given many recommendations just songs that are popular. But when you are logged in, the app will look at the games you have and the amount of time that you have spent on these applications. My most played game on my switch is “The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild”, so the app could pick up on this and give me more recommendations from this title then say “Tears of the Kingdom”, which I have less time put into. But that is just a recommendation.
Works wonderfully. Doesn’t list the composers behind the tracks.. I’ve always hoped for an app with all of the Nintendo music of my childhood, and it’s now here! Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country, and many more, so there is already a great selection. One caveat, however, being that I was really excited to learn about the composers who made my favorite songs, and see what other songs in the Nintendoverse they made. Instead, just the games are listed. Being able to see the composers who made these incredible songs and being able to follow them so we get notified on new songs they composed for would be AMAZING! As a musician myself (who is also trying to get into the industry), not being credited on songs I made would feel terrible. Here’s to hoping this gets updated soon to include the composers and musicians behind my favorite video game music. If this were added I would spend way more time in the app, but right now it’s just a gimmick instead of an actual song streaming service.
Excellent app and something I’ve wanted for years!. This app is seriously something I’ve been wanting for a while and now it came true! I can now listen to Mario music and more on the go anywhere. Only thing is, please keep adding more music and tracks from other Nintendo games like the Mario and Luigi series (including Brothership when it comes out), and Super Mario Bros Wonder, maybe more GameCube games with tracks like Super Monkey Ball, and of course, who could forget more Pokemon games that released throughout the years. So please keep updating this with more music, the possibilities are endless 😊😊😊😊 This app automatically gets 10/10 or 5 stars 😃😃😃😃I love it!!
Could’ve been amazing. I was excited for a way to listen to Nintendo music that wasn’t going to get taken down, and in some respects, it’s a really good app! The song extension is easily the best thing this app can do for video game music, and the songs have thumbnails for the levels/menus they appear, which I also appreciate. Where this app loses me is how there’s BASICALLY NOTHING to listen to. I can’t explain how unfathomably stupid it was for them to launch a music streaming service with 22 games out of your VAST back catalogue of incredible soundtracks. Not to mention, they don’t credit the composers? It’s probably still worth using because of K.K. Slider’s discography, Splatoon, Mario Galaxy, and any others that interest you when they add them. Whatever, it’s a phenomenal idea for an app brought down by just not having most if not all of Nintendo’s back catalogue on there. Sure that sounds like a lot to ask, but Nintendo’s a multi billion dollar company with the resources to make a streaming service, I’m sure they would’ve found some way to make it work if they were given the time.
Well made. This is a very well made music app all around. From having the spoiler prevention to pre-made playlists for certain moods, it certainly covers all the bases. I’m mainly a fan of all the little jingles from games being including such as finding a Korok in breath of the wild. The ability to extend tracks is also a huge plus, I just wish it applied to all main themes, it’s very evident it isn’t with the opening theme of The Legend of Zelda The Ocarina of Time. The only downside I can really see is the it’s only available to Nintendo online members but I can’t say that doesn’t make sense. Looking forward to more game tracks to be available in the future!
Fine app, meh service. The app itself works great and is easy to navigate, but there are two major issues. The first is the lack of songwriter credits, which is absolutely astounding. Every game in the catalog has its composers mentioned in the credits of their games or elsewhere. It is a disservice to the artists to not credit them next to their music like on any other platform. Nintendo has the credits; there's no reason they can't be shown here. The second issue is the game library; there's an incredibly small selection of games at launch. I'm very glad to see them pulling music from all areas of their history, like Wii system music and two versions of Metroid for different systems, but so many iconic songs and games are missing for no good reason. We don't know the update release schedule yet, but the drip-feed approach is completely unnecessary here. There is no reason there can't be more soundtracks at once, but for some reason we have to wait to get more. And of course, your favorite game isn't guaranteed to be added. all of this is to say that i want t rhythm heaven music please nintendo please please
Functional but Flawed App. I downloaded the Nintendo Music app immediately after I saw that it was released, because I think it’s novel that there is an official way to listen to Nintendo tracks now. Would I prefer that these tracks would be available on other music streaming services? Yes, and it surely would make Nintendo more money, but for now I will stop digging into that rabbit-hole. While the selection is limited in this app, I am fine waiting for more releases. What I am not fine with is the lack of compatibility with CarPlay, as well as the music being treated as a video overlay rather than a music track. I tried going onto a website with video content being a small factor, but the music stopped because the autoplay on the website had begun without audio, thus putting the website video as the priority over the music I was listening to. If this can be resolved at all, that would be very appreciated.
Great App. This is a great app! Love how I can listen to exclusive Nintendo music on a official app as well as being able to customize my music. I love how I can close the app and it stays playing I definitely will keep this app! However there is one thing I want… Dear Nintendo Co. My name is Alex and I would like to request The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom music to be included within your app as it has some of my favorite songs. I also would like to give an idea, I feel it would be beneficial for the app to be able to connect to Nintendo Alarmo as a way to wirelessly change the alarms as well as be able to have a wider range of songs on the Alarmo Clock. I feel with this feature it would encourage people to create their own playlist schedules so that they have a different sound for each day as well as be able to have a nice way to wind down and listen to music at the end of the day. These are my recommendations and I hope that you please consider them. Thank you, -Sincerely Alex Melone.
Needs more faster. About a month since release and we’ve received minimal updates . Yes, once a week is great , but not for what’s being dropped. The last 3 weeks have all been around 30 minutes worth of tracks from games that quite frankly feel like bottom of the barrel . Brain age? F-zero x? Wii sports? These are games that have some good tracks, but aren’t enough. I finished the app within the first week or so and now there is nothing more to explore. I enjoy the idea and love access to what’s there… but it’s gotten old fast. Please consider dropping either 2-3 games a week or more substantial additions. This problem won’t be as bad in a year when there are 52 extra games to go through, but at that rate, why release the app at all? It wasn’t ready.
A great way to listen to VGM. I am pleasantly surprised by this app. It might sound silly to have an entire app for music when plenty of others exist, but the app’s features are well made and actually work well with the kind of music on offer. Since video game music is meant to repeat, the app offers the ability to extend tracks instead of simply looping to the beginning. That sounds minor, but is honestly feels great, and I use it a lot. The sound quality is very good, every instrument is audible, and the chiptune music is crisp without sounding distorted. All of the features you would expect such as playlists, shuffle, recommendations, and downloading is present. Logging in is easy too, since once you link your Nintendo account, the app doesn’t make you sign in every time. There aren’t any ads either. While it’s true that their isn’t a lot of games at launch, it’s worth noting that the annual price is significantly lower than similar services. I am confident that time will be very kind to the library. The only downside is the lack of CarPlay compatibility, but if you don’t listen to music while driving, that won’t matter too much. Overall, I am very impressed with the app, and I recommend it, as it does justice for the OSTs it hosts.
Surprisingly phenomenal. I was not expecting this to be so good, but it is actually, genuinely worth the price of admission. The most important feature this app offers— one that as far as I can tell is completely exclusive to this platform— is “extended mode,” the ability to turn certain songs into one of those “eight hours of hyrule/kk slider/splatoon” videos at the press of a button. Video game music is at its best when it’s adaptive, and being able to extend a song to fit the length of a study session or exercise routine is just so cool. The app itself is responsive, well designed, with cohesive and easily readable UI. The curated playlists go beyond just “this game’s soundtrack” or franchise playlists, also offering playlists based on moods or activities. I was pleasantly surprised to find console-specific music as well; we don’t just get the Wii Sports soundtrack, but the Wii menu music as well. I hope they add more soundtracks soon.
Good Start, but a couple issues. Glad to see Nintendo finally stepping into the music game, instead of having to rely on additional publishers or booting up prior games to listen to their music. - Big fan of having a spoiler free option, as well as a way of naturally looping a track! - That being said, I’m only gonna give it 4 stars for literally one reason: The Game Catalog is a bit short (for now). - I’m sure it will get updated with more, but at the time of writing this, it’s missing quite a noticeable number of tracks, especially non-Switch tracks. - To demonstrate, I’ve only found (in terms of Wii titles) the Wii menu themes and Mario Galaxy. …and that’s it. - Can’t say I’m surprised by this. If it updates frequently, I’ll probably bump it to 5 stars, but for now, 4 is what I’ll start with. - One last concern for many of you might be Switch Online being required. Yes… that’s a little annoying. At the least though, there’s no ads. Something you would normally have to pay for on all other music apps. - They’re at least making an existing product better. Plus I’m tired of having to constantly hear criticism of their online service. (Although I would not be surprised if they made another Switch Online presentation video again, lol) - Welp… that’s my review XD
Only 10 seconds of excitement. The sign in button doesn’t work. I’ll probably change my review if it starts working but if it doesn’t oh well. I’m a huge Nintendo fan and I really love thier music but this isn’t helping them. hopefully in about ten minutes after writing this review I’ll be listening to jump up super star however I highly doubt it considering the 700 times I’ve pushed the sign in button. *thirty minutes later* It’s time to jump up in the air!!!! Ahem. Anyway so it finally worked and I have some thoughts. First of all, where is everything? There’s like nothing there. And what is there is good but I have to select pick the good things. A few requests would be off the hook from splatoon having their own section and not just being roped in with damp socks, splatoon grand festival music, that one live performance of anarchy rainbow with both deep cut and off the hook, and tears of the kingdom music. Would really appreciate it if you considered this, have a great day to whoever’s reading this.
Please add extended listen for playlists. Love the app, love having one place for all the Nintendo music, and cannot wait for them to add more in the future. Hope GameCube gets some love. The ONLY issue I have with it is the feature for extended listening on the songs. You can only selected it on a song-by-song basis. If there’s a playlist you want to listen to on an extended timeframe, perfect example the Animal Crossing hourly music, you can’t just set it and forget it you have to pick extended listening for every individual song as it comes on. Would be GREAT to be able to turn on extended listening for all songs or for an entire playlist, not just one at a time. Other than that, great job Nintendo
Great Idea, please give credit to composers and musicians. I am really glad Nintendo finally decided to make this a thing. I really like the formatting of the app and its ease of use. I think for people without a Nintendo Online subscription, it would be helpful to include that it is required to have that subscription to use this (even though most people who download will most likely have a membership already). My biggest critique is that no credit is given towards the composers or artists who made the tracks. That is a very big deal and they need to be credited. I’m kind of blown away by that not being just a given while designing it. Other than this very unfortunate issue, I do really like how the app works. Great music choices on here, and the promise of new additions in the future is great. But please credit the artists.
I love it!. I’ve been wanting for so long to have a place to listen to Nintendo music legally. I’ve always been open to the idea of paying for it, and I am ever so grateful that this app is a thing now. Because of this, I may now use my membership to gain access to the current libraries and more to come in the future! I am truly thankful for this. I love video game music, especially Zelda music. Don’t worry about pacing of the release, though… I would be even happier if more Zelda music was present and encourage you to add what you can, but what we have so far is more than I ever imagined we would’ve gotten! Thank you, Nintendo. May the goddess smile upon you.
This is awesome. I’ve been such a fan of Nintendo since I was a kid they’re my favorite gaming company and to be able to have access to listen to so many games that I have a lot of nostalgia for is so cool! Some people on here have been complaining that they tied it to their Nintendo online service but it’s very affordable at $20 a year for all you get And I don’t think it would’ve been worth it for them to create an entire app that functions well and is bug free if they made no money off of it so I think this is a great trade-off $20 a year for Nintendo online was something I was already paying for and they didn’t even increase the price or tie it to the more expensive Nintendo online subscription so I think it’s an incredible value and so cool!
Great, but lacking. TLDR: nice to listen to game music but needs more content and fine tuning. Also give credit to creators. This is an amazing idea, giving an official way to listen to Nintendo music along with being able to loop it to make some song continue past its 1-2 minute base runtime. That being said, as of day two, the app feels lacking in a lot of content, being limited mostly to games that had official album releases but it probably should have started with some more. Twilight princess, wind waker, Metroid dread, kid Icarus: uprising, three houses, any of the Mario and Luigi series. A ton of great music just isn’t on the app yet and that going to be a turn off for some people. Granted this is early and more music will hopefully be added as time goes on. On top that there are lighter issues I have with the app. Recently played only links to albums as opposed to the songs, composers aren’t credited (this is a large issue), and music tends to freeze up or just not play after selecting a new song or even unpausing. Again this is the first full day of release for the app so I have complete faith the they will improve the service in time. This entire app allows me to listen to the sound tracks of some of my favorite games and I can’t wait to listen to more!
Where are the composers?. The Nintendo Music app works well, and it's nice to finally have an official way to listen to Nintendo music. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the Nintendo-created playlists for different moods, game themes, and even characters. However, the two things that disappointed me the most are the small selection of soundtracks and the complete lack of composer information tied to the music! It's baffling to me to not highlight who worked on these tracks in an app dedicated to celebrating Nintendo music, as this is a feature on many music streaming apps. I'd love to know the creative force behind some of my favorite songs. There's even an option to view track info, but it only shows you the game title and Nintendo's copyright! I hope Nintendo will provide an update that adds game composers, because the lack of them is disheartening.
I know you’re better Nintendo.. So I downloaded this app, and then realized it wasn’t compatible with iPad 😕. The app needs tracks from games like TOTK (I get you’re still selling the soundtrack but we are paying 💰 for your online sub). THANK YOU SO MUCH for adding Splatoon 2! I assume a lot of people will be as happy as me. Composers should be credited, rather than a depressing ©️ Nintendo that can only be found by searching for it. Please add a sleep timer 😴 as well, that would be great for almost everyone. Even with all the issues, I have to say it’s a great app… Songs take up minimal space 😀 (which is nice on an iPad). Being able to finally listen to all the Nintendo music from my device 📱 is amazing, and the separate app was a good decision. Just please make it better for iPad users 🙏. I hope to bump up my review!
Surprisingly Good. Knowing Nintendo’s copyright habits and overall how they handle their music online, I expected this app to be a cheap excuse as ‘now there’s a place to officially listen to our music.’ But after using the app and finding my way through it, it’s actually pretty good and acts just as any other music app would. I found it very intuitive to use and simple to understand. There is the major drawback of putting this service behind the paywall of Nintendo Switch Online, but I honestly think this is the best way to handle an app like this, especially knowing Nintendo would likely not put any ads anywhere. There’s also the fact that there’s only a handful of game soundtracks currently available, but as more are added, I’m sure it will get even better. Overall, there’s a lot of stuff done right here and even more potential for the future. Of course I would prefer that Nintendo distribute their music to other platforms to make everything easier, but this app manages to make it work just fine.

Good but…. I think it is a very good app but my main issue is that they only have the basic splatoon 3 songs none of the songs that came after like the 1.0 update. And there are no splatoon 2 songs. I hope you can add and improve these songs later on.
Search disables input. When trying to use the search to open keyboard and search for something touch is disables so can no longer navigate the app and have to close it
Very cool, great perk. This really needs Chromecast support to be able to play music in the house without resorting to Bluetooth or Airplay. Otherwise this is awesome
Amazing Idea, but…. I think it’s brilliant that Nintendo has finally made it possible to listen to their music, but I have 2 problems with it. 1) Why did it take so long for someone to implement something like this already, and 2) why didn’t they just release the songs on Spotify? (Or another platform?) I mean, I understand they wanted to do something original, but releasing it on Spotify or somewhere else (like Apple Music) would have been better, since then everyone could access it, instead of having to find a way of either putting it on there themselves, or only being able to make covers of the song. It’s really annoying. But end of the day, at least they did it, so Kudos to them. (And Kudos to Plutos, Ahahahaha to anyone who gets this reference)
Has so much potential. It’s true that they should’ve just dumped the soundtracks on Spotify, and the NSO requirement is a barrier for some ppl, but honestly there were always gonna do it this way, and considering that this works really well. The audio’s high quality and once you get used to the interface it works fine enough. It’s definitely a good start
LITERALLY THE GREATEST THING IN THE UNIVERSE ✨. I have been waiting for this for such a long time. Thank you so much Nintendo for finally bringing my dream into reality. Splatoon is my favourite game of all time and I’m obsessed with the whole soundtrack it’s like the only music I actually listen to. So to be able to finally add the official soundtrack to playlists to listen to at work and stuff is so amazing thank you so much!!
Early days. App is really easy to use. Although the soundtrack is limited, can’t wait for more Nintendo soundtracks to appear. Wish they could integrate it with the iPad interface…
Ripoff. So this app Nintendo music is basically a rip off of YouTube music plus you have to pay money to use it when I say that I mean Nintendo online meanwhile YouTube music is free even tho you can pay for premium and you can just listen to Nintendo music on Spotify or YouTube or yt music so plz fix this make it free make it look less like yt music and good luck in court
I mean it’s ok. Right now the lack of music is a little sad, just gotta wait for more
Love it but…. Omg so nostalgic reminds me of grinding ACNH. All my fav video game moments from the last few years. Would love to see some 3DS titles though. But… Nintendo PLEASE just give us the switch two!!! Alarm clocks and music apps aren’t going to put us off forever!!! Though this app is great I’d love to have a new console (and especially a new animal crossing(hint hint)
Empty Catalogue. Has potential but very few options in terms of music. Some franchises completely absent from the app. Requiring NSO is such a sad tactic. Music should be available to everyone. A lot of useful features even when compared to other music apps so that's a plus
Really? I need an online subscription?. Wow. Really disappointing that Nintendo would require Nintendo Switch Online to access this app… Between this and their recent actions against emulation, it seems they’re hellbent on gatekeeping everything they can behind a monthly subscription. Disappointing for a lifelong Nintendo fan… :(
Pretty good. So, Nintendo Music has been used for me since it came out, and it’s really good. Sure, there are its flaws, but I still enjoy the app. Now, some games that I am heavily requested soon include: 1. Paper Mario: The Origami King 2. Mario Kart Wii 3. Super Mario 64 4. New Super Mario Bros (any of them) 5. Super Smash Bros Ultimate If these games get added soon (specifically TOK) then I will be super happy. Thanks for reading.
This is pretty cool, but it's kinda lacking.... This is cool, but it needs more soundtrack, where's the 3DS and Wii U soundtrack? Also, I think it would be cool if Super Mario Run's music player feature was compatible with this. I tried using that feature with this and it didn't work.
Are you serious?. Classic nintendo, barring a basic service behind a paywall for their ripoff of an online service after destroying all the uploads of their music on youtube.
It has star allies. It has star allies
Great app, just missing something that would make this an absolute Game Changer for me.. Love this and it’s good that Nintendo will be adding more music from more games over time. But one thing that I’d love to see is the ability to ask Siri to play songs and playlists for me. If you can add that, that would be great!
Great app. I like the app it is great and you can make it longer and not like YouTube when you can only have it for like 4 10 minutes but there is not to many games and I like paper Mario the origami king the music chefs kiss love it but I hope in the future it gets better.
Good, but why?. Why a NSO account to use the app? That seems like a rather ridiculous idea. You should not need a subscription to listen to this music, and if you can’t redeem it? Say goodbye to the bangers.
Good. Wii theme
Good app but confused. It’s a good app but why is the music not just on Apple Music or Spotify with official curated playlists?
prayers have been answered. Nintendo really got fed up of the youtube illegal uploads so they made their own app. 10/10
More splatoon‼️. I know it just came out but please add both splatoon 1 and 2 songs eventually
Great app!. This is a really great app for music! Could you add happy home paradise travel jingle please it would be much appreciated!
Needs more splatoon music. I was very disappointed when I realised there was no splatoon 2, octo expansion or side order soundtracks. As it is part of a paid subscription, I would expect it to have a larger library of music (even if it’s in its early days). Other than that, the quality’s pretty good and some of the songs that are there are decent.
App review. Great app the one thing that is falling of is the library of music but the spoiler block thing is awesome. Keep it up
Good music. The Nintendo music is a good app to listen to your favourite Nintendo songs from the little amount of games on there The only bad things are that there aren’t many games on here at the moment though they do plan on adding more in the future and the second bad thing is that you need to have an active Nintendo switch online membership, I already had one when it got released so it wasn’t a problem for me but it will be a problem for that one person who doesn’t own a switch and wants to listen to Nintendogs music through the app.
Give credit to composers?. Really cool app in being something Nintendo fans have wanted for a long time, but a feature where users can see, for each song, the people/person that composed it would be super fantastic and really take the app up another notch for me!
Excellent out of the gate. Just a wonderful little app. Listening to Pikmin4 right now, everything super smooth and some nice dedicated features just for gaming music. I prefer this UI to Apple Music, it’s just very simple to use and browse. All features I could want are already present, including downloads. Can’t wait for the catalog to increase, please don’t do this super slowly! Your backlog is massive, 1-2 albums a month ain’t gonna cut it, please do big releases of content. If you’re reading, add Wind Waker, thanks!
Lack of music. 6 aud a month for like 20 games is a ripoff. Please add mario galaxy 2 music.
My thoughts on this application.. The Nintendo music app is so good, the sound, quality, audio compression is crystal clear and high quality. All of the unforgettable memories can’t forget throughout the years. Big thanks to Nintendo who brought the idea. Hopefully more tracks will come along soon in the future. Keep up the good work Nintendo.
great app just two little nitpicks. love the selection of music at the moment just have 2 issues 1 . the amount of phone battery it drains, i used it for 4 hours and it was 27% of my battery compared to the avg of 8% that spotify does 2. wish there were more songs from older titles, for this i mean ones that havent gotten announced content recently like kid icarus series or miitopia otherwise great app cant wait to use it more !
It won’t let me in !! :(. I liked the music they had but they don’t have a lot of my favourite splatoon songs. Also I was able to use it for ten minutes then I closed the app and now it’s stuck on the loading screen and I can’t do anything about it :( (Help me please Nintendo)
App won’t let me sign in. I am in a region that can download this app but it won’t let me sign in. Opening the app and clicking sign in consistently come up with an error and never loads.
Mixed feelings (at least for now). I really like the idea of this app but I have a few problems. I think drip feeding music isn’t sustainable in general, it’s not something that people have go get used to like releasing an older game that takes time to finish, it’s as easy as adding a song you like to a playlist. Like others have said, there needs to be proper credit for composers and artists, not only because it’s ethically the right thing to do, but for the sake of those who wish to learn themselves and it’s good to preserve the history of those who worked hard. I understand that Nintendo might worry about immersion breaking like in Splatoon for example, but they aren’t afraid to show them performing in behind the scenes videos on YouTube so I think it’s only fair. The app itself is high quality and I haven’t seen any glaring issues as of yet. Adding a version of this app for PC, Mac and Nintendo systems themselves would also be a good idea.
Some Good, Some Weak. For the catalogue that's on here it's pretty good. Some of it is nonsensically bad though. Who wants the 6 second rendition of Song of Storms??? Why is that even an option?
Why is this a separate app. They could just put this stuff on every other app, for free, like every other major producer.
Finally. We’ve been waiting way too long for this Nintendo

Stupid, why do you need Nintendo Switch online?. Because of course we need an Nintendo Switch online membership in order to use an app by Nintendo, I’m not playing music multiplayer am I? It’s just stupid because I do have an Nintendo Switch online account, but once it runs out the app becomes useless Another thing too, you guys are probably one of the first people to make a alarm clock have a paid add-on
Overall.... Overall, it's pretty good. I can now listen to Wave Goodbye as much as I want, but plz add Splatoon 1 and 2, I really wanna listen to Acid Hues and Tide Goes Out. So, 4 stars for now, but add Splatoon 1 and 2 and I'll make it higher :)
INKTASTIC!!! 🩷💚 🩷🩵 💙💛🩶. it’s very nice it did actually crash two times other than that it’s perfect. I’m just asking where the side order is. I’m very happy that Ocarina of time is on it ! Also, where is Muckwarfare? And some of pearl and Marina’s songs.🩷🩵 (PS: In side order it said that Caille it’s actually quite chaotic and Marie is quite chill. It said on their little profile on this app that Marie is sassy I’m not sure she is.). -sincerely Nøøki! Stay fresh!🩷💚
yay. IVE ALWAYS BEEN BEGGING FOR YOU TO ADD THIS NINTENDO. one slight nitpick. WHERE IS SPLATOON 2. WHERE IS AMALGAMANIA AND SEASOURCE????? i beg pls add them NOWNOWNOWOOWOWOOWWW
Happy to have splatoon music not off spotify podcasts. Although the download thing doesn't work on ipad
Search freezes entire app. Decent start, missing a lot of big hits but I assume they'll be added as times goes on. Every time I try to use the search function on 12 pro max, it freezes up the entire app before bringing up my keyboard at all. Hope a fix is soon!
I am review. Dhiwjshaia
Great app. It’s a great app with music from Nintendo titles. However, the library needs to grow a lot more to replace using YouTube for unofficially uploaded music. Also why is the delete account button so easily accessible? Can this be hidden or be in multiple submenus instead of on the main account settings page? After a few days of use I am finding the app is using way too much cellular data (even with data saver mode). That’s not good for streaming on the go.
Only missing one feature. Please show composer information!
Super!. J’attendais depuis longtemps cette application! Tout fonctionne parfaitement j’attends avec impatience l’ajout de nouveaux jeux. Seuls petits ajouts à faire, version CarPlay et une autre web based disponible sur tous les navigateurs. Bravo!
FIRE EMBLEM! Plz!. Thank you!!!!
It's about time!. Happy to finally be listening to good ole' classic Nintendo tunes, on its own app rather than YouTube. Very clean UI and especially loving the option to extend certain tracks. Looking forward to the Animal Crossing soundtrack from the GameCube and DS versions....
Nice Start, Please Add Carplay Support. Nice assortment of music to start, sometimes the tracks might pause due to connection issues, but I’m sure it’ll be sorted out in due time. Please add support for Apple Carplay, would love to be able to use it on commutes and roadtrips.
Nintendo Online membership Required. You need a paid Nintendo Online subscription to use this app. If their online services weren’t terrible, I would consider resubscribing, but the latency in every online game is so terrible, it’s just not worth it. Classic Nintendo Making Miyamoto proud….
More music. I like it Nintendo but it needs more music(Metroid dread, more yoshi)
Music composer. Please add the music composer to the track info and habilety to filter by composer. Otherwise Nice app!
It’s really good but. It’s really good so far but I think it has a lot of great potential to add more stuff later in the future
Awesome but needs a few adjustments. 1• Add a sleep timer please!! Why is there a sleep playlist but not a sleep timer? 2• Please add credits for the artist who made the songs. 3• Please add new albums on a weekly or bi weekly basis, most people don’t want to wait a year for one ost in particular. 4• Oh and one more nitpick I have, please remove the “delete account” button at the bottom of the profile area, I almost hit it by mistake. At least put it in a different location please. Ok, I think that’s about it. Thank you Nintendo for giving us this app that we’ve been asking for so long.
Good but could be great. My biggest issue is, there’s no sleep timer. The selection is good, and I’m looking forward to the library expanding. I like to be able to play music to go to sleep to, but this app isn’t useable in that way because the music will still be playibg at 2 AM and it wakes me up.
Amazing App. As a very big Nintendo fan, all of the features of this app easily beat any other service that plays Nintendo music. You can extend timers which is one of my favourite features, it shows that the developers at Nintendo really put effort into this and cared about the product. The app runs smoothly, and also is very easy to use.
Very promising!. Decent selection of OSTs to start, definitely needs to be filled out more though. Still, hard to argue against the value considering it’s given to you if you have NSO. Only thing of note for me is no credits for the composers; please add them, they deserve the recognition for their hard work!
One time use. It’s a one time use for me. I got it when it was released but after I turned it off ONE TIME it always had a 69 hour loading time afterwards, I never got to use the app ever again. The End.
THE BEST THING EVER. Ong this app is goated
Love it. Great app! Love the extend feature and that I can download songs. App is easy/intuitive to use, and I like that you can sort by character, or find playlists for your mood. Really hoping for more music to be added from the Pokemon franchise :)
Thank you Nintendo!. I have been waiting for official Nintendo game music for ages, thank you for creating this app. Looking forward to hours and hours of Animal Crossing and Zelda music sessions.
4 Major Issues. For a long time, people have been asking for Nintendo to just let us listen to their music. Remember that one Smash Direct where they showed someone listening to game music via their copy of Smash Ultimate? That isn’t exactly what people wanted. This could be. There’s a lot of work that has to be done though. I have 4 issues and the app lost 1 star for each issue. So I guess it’s 1 star. Firstly, the selection leaves a lot to be desired. The drip feed model ONLY worked for Mario Tennis Aces, and that’s because it had actual content at launch. Entire series or consoles like Xenoblade and the 3DS are nowhere to be found here. This makes a bad first impression, and I expect a pretty large user falloff like their games that did this. Secondly, the fact that the actual composers aren’t credited is a very anti-art choice to me. You would think it’s an extremely basic feature, but as we saw with the game selection, this app is missing extremely basic features. They also didn’t credit Grant Kirkhope in the Mario movie but that’s outside the scope of this review. Thirdly, realistically, the app shouldn’t exist. Do you wanna know what songs will never be added? Biri-Biri by Yoasobi, the Project Voltage songs and anything that’s not in a Nintendo game. What if I want to listen to Kirby music…AND something else? On the other hand though, if Nintendo put their songs on YouTube music, literally millions of hours of work would be content ID’d. Entire livelihoods would go down the drain so maybe it’s not so bad. Finally, I’ve been tiptoeing around it but it has become painfully obvious that this is just an excuse strike down YouTube uploads of their songs. While Nintendo is undeniably within their rights to do so, it’s frustrating because they’re clearly showing no effort to have the songs they strike on this app. Mario Parties, old Pikmin games, and Splatoon 2 are all not on this app, and they’re getting removed left and right. And that’s just off the top of my head. On YouTube, there’s real competition between channels to be the fastest one to upload the highest quality music, but if Nintendo can just DMCA those channels, there’s no reason for them to quickly and competitively add more music to this platform. This may be a hot take, but if this service was equal to or better than what YouTube was offering, I’d be fine with defaulting to it. But between seemingly being locked to Nintendo exclusives, and the way Nintendo drip feeds content, it’s not, and I don’t think it’s ever going to be there.
I’m a really big Splatoon fan. And Pokémon.. But I was wondering where side order and Off the Hook music was. Maybe some Grand Festival music too? And looking forward to the past Splatoon games too. Pls add them! 🩷💚 🩷🩵 💙💛❤️ AND PAST POKÉMON GAMES
not enough music yet. i've been waiting for an official nintendo music streaming platform for years. suffice to say im very happy! however, theres not many musical options at the moment, so i hope that will change soon!
Barely any games. I am happy that Nintendo made an official way to listen to their music, but it is almost empty. Imagine you saw this app and you got it. Now, let’s say you are a fan of super paper Mario on the Wii and you were excited to finally be able to listen to the flipside music for an hour legally. You go through the games and… the library is almost empty. It’s sad but then you decide you still want to listen to Flipside for an hour, so you go to YouTube to search for a 1 hour loop but Nintendo does not like their songs anywhere. So where will you listen to it?
A promising start. The app delivers lots of classic Nintendo tunes smoothly, with all the functions you’d expect from a proper music player. There’s room to grow the number of tracks, which will come with time. Well done!
Happy!. So excited to listen to all of the songs! ♥️
I can’t open the app.. I downloaded this app because I wanna listen to my favourite Nintendo music, but when I opened the app, it says “A communications error occurred. Please check your internet connection.”, even though my Wi-Fi works perfectly fine. Please fix this.
App won’t keep music playing. I like the initial selection of music on here, it is really good. I have an issue though where I can only play 2-4 songs and then the app just won’t play anymore music until I shut it down completely and restart it. This is with me scrolling through and clicking into new songs rather than letting a song play through fully, but the app should be able to handle that.
Unnecessary. You need a Nintendo Online account to use. What’s even the point of this app? Just put your music on Apple Music, Spotify, etc
Song timeout + no games. Songs will timeout and freeze for no reason + very low amount of games :(
Useless, broken, and won't open at all. I'm rewriting my previous review altogether because the duration of this issue is genuinely egregious. The app is entirely dysfunctional! It worked when I installed it (albeit with a lot of irritating bugs and freezes) but the same night it just decided to stop working altogether. When the app launches, it's completely stuck in the loading screen. There's no troubleshooting I can do there; I'm logged in and I have a subscription, it just won't work. It has been like this since then, for at LEAST a week now, with no fixes. If you're going to release something this awful, at least make it a free service. This just wasn't ready for launch. Even with the uselessness aside, the music selection was pitiful, it was buggy, and the concept was mediocre at best. I genuinely wouldn't consider this worth the time and space it takes to install it, much less an NSO subscription. Don't bother.
We need more game soundtracks!. Good app but I wish there were more game soundtracks on the app like Pokemon Sword and Shield. And I wish there were more game soundtracks that aren't just from Nintendo Switch like Super Mario 3D World and more Pokemon and Mario games.
I’m holding the last star.. You give me a sleep timer and I’ll give you the last star.
Credit. Please credit the composers behind our childhoods.
Works great! Please add CarPlay!. CarPlay and more music would be amazing!! Great app! Wii eshop music sounds perfect all day!!
Mostly Good. I greatly enjoy using the app. As someone who loves Nintendo music in general, this is a great app. The problem is that I found it doesn’t consistently work. It is an absolute chore trying to get into the app, as it has major loading problems. Either it puts one on a permanent loading screen or it says there no internet despite my device having a full internet connection. Once one is in, it works, but getting in is a pain! Deleting and reinstalling works, but I don’t want to have to do that every time I want to listen to music. Turning off and on the internet works sometimes, but not consistently enough to make a difference. I haven’t seen this problem documented on the internet for anyone else, but I don’t think it is my internet problem as it works good for every other game and app. I really want to be able to like and use this app, but it isn’t reliable enough. Please fix it Nintendo!
It just straight up isn't working. I've been stuck in a loop of logging into my nintendo account, doing the stupid captchas, and getting the error "This page cannot be displayed. Please start the process over from the beginning." None of the usual fixes for that error (clearing cache/history, changing settings, updating OS etc.) have worked and at this point I feel like I paid for the switch online services for nothing. Would not recommend until their login process is better implemented.
Bare Bones!. Great concept and I was very excited to download this app. Only to realize that it is VERY bare bones. Very little to choose from and no organization at all. Apple music has literally every video game music score you can think of. Only saving grace is that it’s free (for now). Looking forward to see how this expands and grows in the future but for now, maybe wait a while till they improve it.
Great app but…. There needs to be way more soundtracks, as I feel like there is clearly not enough. Another thing they need to add is support for smart speakers, so I could say “alexa, play classic tracks from Mariokart 8 deluxe on Nintendo Music” because that would be pretty cool and I would totally use that. Also to make a few shortcuts as well for the iPhone, and maybe some widgets but not necessary. Really love the app design and the concept, but please add some more games.
No xenoblade???. This app will go from 1 to 5 stars once they Add Xenoblade
Nintendo Online. I have a nintendo online membership but it tells me i dont have one.
Works great but a suggestion…. The app is really good and I use it a lot but it would be great if it was more compatible with Apple CarPlay!
Please credit the artists for the music that they made.. Great app, bu tplease credit the artists.
This would’ve been great…but. This is absolutely perfect…if you pay for online. If you’re like me and don’t want to pay for online play, you can’t even use the app. Yeah, not even listening with ads or anything, you straight up just can’t use it. Guess it’s time to just listen to it elsewhere for FREE. Thanks Nintendo.
Very excited for this. I’ve been using Nintendo products and services for a long time, and this product has been high on my radar. I am very pleased to see an easy user interface suitable for all ages, and a well organized music collection separating various game types, styles, and character features! Happy to know that my NSO subscription is getting the greatest use available for it, and that more tracks will be added on future updates. :)

I love this app. I check the news on my switch quite often, and I quite literally forgot all my problems with Nintendo when I found out I could listen to Zelda and splatoon on my phone. I already had the Nintendo online so I got this app as soon as I could and I love it. I could say it needs more songs, but I’m reviewing the day this app came out, so I’m not that picky about the game. I have a feeling the extend feature will definitely come in handy. All in all I love this app.
Composers are not credited. Nintendo Music is a promising service with a lot of potential. Being able to listen to Nintendo soundtrack outside of the games is a really novel idea, and I enjoy listening to music from Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda. It's a great novelty app for NSO subscribers I am disappointed by the lack of composer credits, a standard feature on popular music streaming apps. I would like to see the names of the individual artists and composers from Nintendo who wrote the songs in the about section box of the tracks. Being able to sort by composers like Koji Kondo and others would be a cool way to see some insight into the way some of our favorite games were created. The initial album selection provided is also quite small; I would love to see additions like EarthBound (SNES) and more Super Mario games, but the current selection is satisfactory. I am excited for the future of the service!
FINALLY!!!!!. i’m SO glad they dropped this! they finally listened to us!! i have been begging for nintendo music to come out on a streaming service or ANYTHING, this is perfect. i can’t wait for new music to come in, hopefully in the future we’ll just be able to listen to every track from every game. there is one issue so far, the app crashes frequently. but i think that will get patched soon as this JUST came out
Great app with huge potential. So far the app has worked flawlessly with all of the features you’d expect out of a music player. And some awesome extras like the extend feature, and lots of pre selected playlists. The current music selection is a bit lax for sure, but assuming regular and often updates, this might be one of the biggest moves from Nintendo in history. (Ok a big of an exaggeration but I really REALLY like their music)
Thoughtful Design. I’m so glad this finally exists, and the level of thoughtfulness they put into the features goes above and beyond what I thought this app would be. Extending the length for songs to study to? The big music streaming services haven’t done this! Spoiler warnings too? This plus the ability to make playlists and also providing curated ones based of characters, theme, etc. This app is such a good example of how thoughtful and detailed Nintendo can be in making something for their fans.
Promising, but needs a lot more music than it currently has to offer.. The app is very new, and doesn’t have a big library of tracks yet. There’s very little from the Wii, like wii sports and Wii sports resort aren’t on there. Luigi’s mansion isn’t in there either, which is a huge missed opportunity with Nintendo Music being released days before Halloween. It has promise, and we’ve been asking for a way to listen to Nintendo music for a long time so I’m glad this exists. But it needs work. Also, I wish they would show the composers for the tracks, instead of just saying “Nintendo”.
IT FINALLY CAME AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I love it so much. It’s a brilliant idea for a way to put Nintendo music into an official service, and keep it special and exclusive to Nintendo at the same time. It is very flawed, however. I’m not very annoyed, as it was just released. It doesn’t switch to the next song if my phone screen is off. It also has a very limited selection of games. Other games that I would like to be added are: Mother 2, TLoZ Majora’s Mask, TLoZ A Link to the Past, every Super Smash Bros. Game, every MarioKart game, and, of course, every Super Mario game.
What we have been waiting years for. This is an excellent streaming music service and a surprise to be from Nintendo itself. It is very welcome after so many years of having to find Nintendo music in unofficial sources. There is a great variety of music from past and present Nintendo games with clever organization. I especially like seeing all the albums for the bands in Splatoon 3 and the character playlists. I look forward to Nintendo Music getting even more music and getting even more creative with its curation.
Great App, Annoying Flaws. The app itself is great, it has all the basics in terms of music app functionality. The selection is nice but still mostly lacking (Pokémon Sword and Shield when). The “Extend Song” feature is cool in my opinion but I’ve never really used it yet. And crashes are present but thankfully not prominent. One thing that me alongside many other people have noticed is that the original composers of the songs didn’t get credited in the “Track Information” tab on any of the songs. Now I don’t know much about music, but I do know that this is a kind of a slap in the face to the original composers of these songs. This alongside many other things needs to be fixed before I can confidently give it 5 stars. Overall Score: Functionality / 9.1 User-Friendliness / 8.2 Song Selection / 6.1 Graphics / 7 Overall / 7.6
Great!…But Needs More. Finally! Nintendo fans can listen to officially licensed music. The app is simple and easy to use. The app design is a little boring, but it’s passable. Unfortunately, there are only 24 games to choose music from. I am concerned that Nintendo will drip-feed more games just as slowly as they add games on NSO. Nintendo, please add more games from all consoles quickly! Also, I too have had problems using this app with Airplay as others have stated. It works, but it takes some effort. Overall, it’s still a great collection of music for now.
Nintendo Let’s a Go!!. It’s been years in the making but years worth waiting for just to listen to Nintendo greatest and wonderful songs finally to be able to listen again all in one place, here to listen to many more music that been around our hearts can’t wait to hear the wonders of every game soundtrack we grew up with. Let’s a Go and listen to our favorite songs Thanks you from the bottom of my heart again Nintendo and everyone involved with our life.
Worth the yearly Subscription alone.. I pay $20 a year to keep my Switch Online and honestly having access to and being able to download these soundtracks makes it worth that price by itself. I would happily buy these albums individually because, seriously Nintendo, the music you put in your games didn’t have to be this incredible, but I’m glad you did. Being able to download the tracks for offline use is a great feature, especially since I get to enjoy them at work or on the road. If you have a subscription to Nintendo’s online services, and you like to jam out to the soundtracks to your favorite games just like this geek does, give this a download. It really adds more bang to your buck on that subscription price.
Pretty Good!. Pretty good app with nice accessibility features! I like how I can make my own playlists but also listen to playlists created by the company and centered around specific characters. The ability to have a spoiler-free experience is a unique feature that I enjoy. I think something else that would be beneficial is compatibility with CarPlay, as it’s not safe for me to use my phone while driving to change the songs or switch a playlist. All in all, great app and I’m looking forward to the addition of more songs further down the line!
Fun idea but not very interesting and not enough content to make it usable. I’m not sure why this app exists, but its main issue is the lack of content. The music player in Super Smash Ultimate has much better options, but obviously that is not very convenient being locked to the switch. The UI is clean but has a few issues with different interactions (and it is very eager to restart songs). I’m not sure why Nintendo doesn’t just release game soundtracks on other music streaming services rather than reinventing the wheel. What would have made this app more fun than other services is if it had dynamic gameplay videos for each song, but it just has screenshots.
Solid Tracks, Solid App. Smooth UX, excellent sound quality, and intelligent features make this app an easy five stars. The interface is simple and lets me dive into the music without extra clicks—precisely what I want. The sound quality is on point, meeting the nostalgia factor perfectly. The ‘extend to’ feature is a winner, letting me loop a track while I work or study, which I’ll use often. I’d like to see more games added to the lineup, though. It is an easy pick for any Nintendo fan here to vibe with some classics—no hassle, just solid tunes.
Every Wii U eShop and Animal Crossing GCN Track, Please. This app is a step in the right direction, but I am pleading with the creators, please do not leave any stone unturned. I know Nintendo likes to pretend that the Wii U didn’t exist sometimes, but we cannot ignore how great the Wii U eShop tunes were, specifically the holiday/winter songs. Also, to this day the original Animal Crossing on the GameCube had the best soundtrack of the series and it’s not even close. Please bring those songs to this app sooner rather than later. This final request is maybe out of their control due to licensing with Rare, but Diddy Kong Racing, snow levels in particular. Bring this all to fruition.
Please read- also AMAZING. I love this app, although i would love there to be more songs. But i love the features! And as a child growing up with this music, i love i can listen to it on my phone or ipad :P Although, i would love to see music from Splatoon 1 and 2 and also Pokemon Sword. As a person who has been a fan for many years i find this app a great step. Tho like i said could use more music. Which is smth i say very rarely cus im very picky abt my music, and only like gaming music or short clips for editing. So pleaseeee add pokemon sword and splatoon 1 and 2 music! I downloaded this app immediately so pleaseeeee :<
This is the app I was looking for!!. I am so glad this app exists! I've been trying to find ways to listen to music from all my favorite Nintendo games and couldn't find a way. With this app, I can download and listen to my favorite songs and make playlists for when I need them! The music is very clean and I can put this music on while I'm doing something else on my phone or if I'm studying. Thank you Nintendo for making this app!!
Could be better. Honestly, I love this app, but it's lacking. I got this mainly to Oth/Side order music. But in the Splatoon catalog, they only have music that was in the game during launch. I know it's brand new, but it's annoying that they only have a limited tracks. It would be definitely nicer if they had the full catalog, but I'd totally get it if they didn't have Grand Fest or Side Order music since it's newer. There's a few other games that are absent, but the current lineup generally is pretty good and I think I can stay sane without blasting the Chirpy Chips for a while. Otherwise a great app!
So many good tracks!!. The app is packed with so many good songs! I think the coolest features is the ability to extend (loop) songs to make the playable for longer times. And, of course, you can download them for offline listening. Another thing to look forward to is future track drops from other amazing games from Nintendo’s immense library. Finally, we can listen to Nintendo music with great audio quality!
best thing to happen to me. i love nintendo music so much and its so good to have it all in one place like this and to be able to easily make and access playlists. whoever thought of the extend playtime feature should get a raise and a promotion the app is a little rough around the edges and as it stands its missing a LOT of soundtracks but im quite happy with the selection and hope to see other games make their way here soon 😄
Can’t wait. This was a great idea! I love being able to listen to Nintendo music and the way that they do it is so amazing. The only downside right now is the amount of songs. I love what they have now, but I would really enjoy more music from a lot more games. And I know that they will add more as time goes on, so I’m not too worried. But I would love to listen to music from: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Yoshi’s Crafted World, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, Super Mario RPG, and Super Mario Party Jamboree. Besides that however, I do really enjoy this app and I can’t wait for them to add more and more songs. Thank you Nintendo!
Needs more games. The idea of the app is sound, but without a greatly improved catalogue it’s not worth using. For example, the only Pokemon music is from Scarlet and Violet. If Nintendo wants to capture Pokemon fans, at minimum the app should have music from all the other main series games. And what about the enormous number of spinoffs with must-hear music (Mystery Dungeon, GameCube games, Ranger, Snap, etc.)? I don’t bring these up to be pedantic - if Nintendo genuinely wants people to look to this app and not elsewhere for their music, it needs to have just about every song a fan of the series would be interested in.
Love it!. Definitely can’t wait for more games! Would like if we’d be able to set a 60 minute song into a playlist so we don’t have to keep setting the extended playback time. For example if I had an animal crossing playlist I’d like to be able to set the 60 minute or 30 minute versions of certain songs to play back to back without having to set the timer. So glad I get to listen to the Japanese version of Break Free whenever I want! Thanks Nintendo!
Pretty good. It’s great to finally be able to LEGALLY listen to Nintendo music, but the app has some major problems. One, there are NO artist credits anywhere, secondly, some tracks are straight up missing. Specifically, all of the boss themes from pikmin 4, the fire temple from ocarina of time is incomplete, and the cutscene music for the master sword exposition is also incomplete. I don’t know if it’s just my phone being glitchy, but several tracks on donkey kong country:2 have the beginning sections muted, and then start again a quarter of the way through the song.
It works. The app does what it’s designed to do, play Nintendo music. The only real complaints I have with it is that when you que a song, it puts in in front of the next song that was also queued instead of behind it and there isn’t an equalizer. Fix those two issues and it’s basically perfect. And a quick request for Nintendo, please add the fast paced versions of the MarioKart 8 Deluxe tracks, the ones that make the tempo more audibly clear. THX.
So far so good!. As soon as I saw this was a thing I downloaded immediately! It’s file size is very small which is always a good thing. Now the selection of games at the start is small yes but the day after the app launched we got Mario Wonder music so I’m glad they are going to update it frequently! The one big thing I am a little sad about is that you can’t see who composed a specific song, I feel like this would have been great to have and hope they add in the future!
Amazing Start. This app has pretty good collection of music to start off with! I know some are missing, but I know that there will be more added into the future, so the amount of music will definitely increase. I hope to see some of the past Animal Crossing music, Splatoon 2, and Splatoon 3 Side Order music! Other than that, I am excited to see what new music will be added in the future, and excited for the future of this app!
Outstanding! Get in now!. Absolutely brilliant app. As you’d expect from Nintendo, it’s a solid, well made and joyful experience, truly. The library is varied and has some absolute bangers and classics that I could listen to for at least… 60 minutes! Some new music has been added since launch, so I’m hoping and looking forward to a few games added here and there! Exciting times ahead revisiting this music library and watching it grow!
Needs a little work. I was really excited to see this app. We love games in our house, especially the music tracks. I am just disappointed that even when paying for a membership you are not free to stream the music from your phone to your tv or other devices/bluetooth. Some work with the app, but not all including AirPlay. The app is already available on apple’s AppStore, why not make it work with airplay too? Hopefully this is just a small bug that can be fixed with an update. Other than that, the app runs fairly smoothly.
Not enough content. As of now, you can only listen to songs from the newest installments of their franchises. All the older songs will be drip-fed to you which is a questionable choice at best. The app also considers little jingles as songs, such as Deepcut’s news outro. I have no idea why they put that in over one of their full songs from the game. However, this app is probably the only mobile app Nintendo has put effort into. Its not slow, its not confusing, and the app looks nice and sleek. The app itself is an adequate foundation, but the content is being handled somewhat poorly.
This is Awesome!. So cool that this exists! And the fact that Nintendo is adding unique functions like extending the music loops shows they’re going above and beyond with this. A good selection of game music to start with but I really hope it gets widely expanded as we go… so much amazing music in their vaults. The option to download for offline play is great too, but I hope they add in CarPlay support to so we can easily jam out to these tunes on the go! A widget would be nice as well for easier access.
Good app, but has some issues. While I was hesitant about a separate music app specifically for Nintendo music, the app works well enough and it’s good to finally listen to my favorite soundtracks whenever I want. Although, I am constantly experiencing some issues. While unsure of the cause, the music I’m listening to will constantly pause itself at random intervals and sound won’t play unless I disconnect my earbuds and re open the app. If these issues are fixable I will gladly and patiently wait. Also if you could add the “DK county returns” soundtrack that would be great :)
Great music, but several performance issues. I’m really enjoying the music in the app so far! However, there’s multiple performance issues I’ve noticed, and the app can behave very slow and sluggish at times. The app also heats up my phone and drains my battery quite a bit as well. Tracks restart from the beginning when an alarm I’ve set interrupts them, and sometimes, tracks won’t even play. I hope these issues get fixed soon. In the future, I’m hoping for CarPlay support!
Surprisingly good. The app exceeds my expectations for a music platform coming from Nintendo, very solid UI. Easy to manage and find songs. My only complaint is the lack of crediting the people who made the music for each game. That and also how small the catalog is compared to how many iconic songs and games have come out for multiple consoles. I now we will most likely get more music later on but I just wished they had released the app with more. Good music app overall 👍🏽
Mostly good but I wish the composers were credited.. Three stars because Id like it if you would credit the composers and the people behind the music within the app, they worked so hard to create the music and its such a core part of games. Id really appreciate if theyd get the respect and preferably royalties as well for having their work here. I want to support them and their work so much. On a lesser note I want the super mario 3d world soundtrack and off the hooks music added desperately because those are some of the biggest reasons I wanted the app
Great Idea, Terrible Execution. I may update this in the future since I understand this just came out. I like the concept behind getting uninterrupted Nintendo music, but I don’t like the limited selection of games music can come from. I also don’t like how it can take some songs 10 seconds to stream, and others take over 2 minutes to steam. Otherwise, it has a great user interface to pick the song based on key moments from games, and I also like the looping feature which makes the music play almost seamlessly.
Great app but needs updates. The app is easy to use. I like the way it is organized. I have few notes there. Some of my more significant problems are the app has crashed a twice since I used it. Playback also freezes when looking for other songs while using Airplay. Sometimes when I start a song it won’t start playing requiring the app to be closed and opened back up. I would also like to see the names of the composers/writers next to each song.
Finally!!. I’m so glad that Nintendo finally made a dedicated music app, and with the pace they’re rolling out game OST’s it’ll be nice to wait and see what games are next. There are some playback issues though, even if you download songs, if you are connected to the internet, it will try to play them via the internet, which will stop the app. This causes the app to bug out and requires a restart, which resets your shuffle. Overall great app, just needs a bit more optimization with playback.
People writing this off. I feel like this is a rather niche product but it comes with a cheap yearly membership, even cheaper if you split it with family and friends, that you use for Nintendo Online gaming anyway. I expect them to expand to movies/shows at some point too. You can download the songs and keep them on your device too, it’s not just streaming. This is just an addon for NSO, but I think it’s a high quality one. The app itself runs well, I hope they update songs often.
A dream come true. Like many other Nintendo fans, I had given up hope on Nintendo making their music available on any streaming platforms. This app was a complete shock and has all the functionality I could ask for. Tons of curated playlists, the ability to extend a track for several minutes, and all for free with the Switch Online service? Truly so grateful for this app, thank you so much Nintendo❤️
Classic music, decent app. I’ll say that it functions. There weren’t that many newer titles available on the launch of the app, mostly popular Switch games, Wii channels, and Tomodachi collection??? Aside from the selection, the theme they’re going with is great. It’s a very Nintendo styled app and is very fun to be able to download my favorite games’ songs. I will say, however, that the app does have some flaws. There’s a few glitches and occasional crashes in-app. All in all, though, it’s a great app if you have your Switch Online subscription.
Functional but a little flawed. I saw this app on the Nintendo switch online application on my switch. Thought I would give it a try. Here are a few complaints I have with the app so far. The selection is very limited right now but I’m fine with waiting for more to be added. And when I go to pause. And then hit play it resets the track to the beginning, instead of continuing it where it where I paused it. That is the biggest complaint I have with this app
Good enough, needs a bit more effort. Nintendo fans have been waiting for this for years. And it’s just okay. It has some of the iconic game soundtracks, but there isn’t much of a selection. Also a lack of music credits for the people who made these amazing soundtracks is kind of a slap in the face for the creators of the music. Overall, has good potential, it just needs more music and credits for the people who made the music.
Exciting app. i'm loving this app so far! i'm very excited to have somewhere to listen to nintendo music in such high quality! i also like how it's included in nintendo switch online, instead of separate subscription. the only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the music selection, it's extremely solid don't get me wrong! i just wish there was more from the start, i'm still looking forward to more music from other games. highly recommend this app for anyone who loves nintendo music though!!!!
Okay-ish. A cool concept for an add-on to the NSO service with flaws. There would be times when trying to select a song that the app either freezes, doesn’t show the picture associated with the song, or just boots me out of the app entirely. Not to mention that while Splatoon’s fictional artists are credited, the ACTUAL artists behind the songs aren’t (same goes for every other franchise on the app—even Pokémon, which usually credited their artists/composers in the “Super Music Collections”). We want to know the people behind the music, Nintendo. If these were all fixed, I’d think that this would be a much better product overall.
Dream come true. In all my years of loving Nintendo games (especially their music) I have always loved this company through and through. When I would play a game I always loved the gameplay but wished to be able to hear the music and appreciate it more clearly, It really means a lot that Nintendo made an entire app dedicated to listening their game music better. I see a bright future for this app and to everything ahead.
ALMOST PERFECT. I am a huge Nintendo fan and being able to listen to Nintendo music in its own app like this is something that I didn’t know I needed until I got it, I mean the spoiler idea is pure genius and will be used because I still haven’t gotten the game yet. But there are 3 things that I think would give more reason for people to join 1. A $10 a year subscription just for the music. I personally already have the online but for people who don’t have a switch 10 bucks is practically free. 2. Give credit to who made the songs underneath their names. I am a huge fan of tochninama (I totally spelt that right) and I think it would be funny if there was a playlist of just his tochninama jingles. Or having interviews on how they think up the music, 3. Have exclusive remixes. People will download the app just for the remixes
About time 😤. While its initial selection of music is rather sparse. The additions of more music from the Nintendo catalog is something I will be looking forward to in the future. I’m looking forward to seeing what else gets added! The addition of Animal Crossing alone is great for ambient background noise. I also really appreciated the ability to extend certain tracks upwards of 60 minutes. I’m always listening to OSTs, and to finally have the ability to play some Nintendo music is truly making my day ❤️
It has potential. As someone who loves the music in Nintendo’s games, I was super excited to see this app. I know this app is still in early access but there’s a few issues. The first one being BUGS! Songs will stop playing at random points, even downloaded songs, or the app will crash altogether. Secondly, I cannot listen to my downloaded music when offline, which, for anyone that may not know, is kind of the whole point of downloading music. The app itself is a good idea, but it definitely needs improvements.
