Fire Emblem Shadows Comments & Reviews 2026
Love it! My wallet doesn’t…. After playing this game for like 4 hours hours straight, I can deduce that I like it. I think the story is interesting, I like the characters, and a lot of people were saying how they don’t like the combat. I actually enjoyed. However, I did not enjoy how expensive those orb things are. If you want to buy 1 outfit for a character, it’s 150 orbs. And the 200 orbs option is 7.99! Correct me if I’m wrong but, THATS LIKE 8 DOLLARS FOR ONE OUTFIT! The outfits are really cute, but not cute enough to warrant spending that much on an iPhone game. Even if the game is fun. I would still recommend you play it if you’re interested. But not if you want to dress up your characters. (Also, you can get Dimitri as a playable character, and that’s why I gave this game 4 stars)
Not Fire Emblem. Really gave this game an honest shot. Played through Book 1 and leveled up my Dimitri. But I found myself unimpressed. Shallow gameplay and repetitive story that doesn’t match the expectations of a standard Fire Emblem game. Real-Time gameplay isn’t it, and its implementation was poor. Last touched it over a week ago and haven’t bothered to pick it up since. So I deleted my save data, uninstalled, and I’m not looking back. Cool art though. Will be interesting to see how these characters are implemented into Fire Emblem Heroes (assuming Shadows stays alive long enough).
Just why. This is not a Fire Emblem game, this is not a social deduction game, and this is most certainly not a real time strategy game. Firstly it shares no common gameplay DNA with the franchise it is trying to wear like a corpse suit. Fire Emblem is a character based, turn based strategy game on a grid. This is an auto battler with mediocre mechanics. Second this is not a social deduction game. The game hardly has any social aspects to it being that you need to make the pivotal decision only a minute after meeting your team and the only information is how well they played the game. Even if that was enough the reward for being right on your social deduction is awful. Regardless of guess team light, stupid names by the way could be less on the nose with light/shadow, just gets +1 revive and the shadow players vote does not reward them. Lastly this is not an RTS. It is an auto battler with hardly any thinking involved I hate this game enough not to elaborate further.
Kinda good, but need more content. The game was mostly like auto battle, except you can use skills to attack or heal on the side, but you have no control of where the character goes and who to attack. Initially it was interesting, but not after a few hours, there are no new content out, it’s always the similar battle, the only difference is what character you choose and skills you use. And the storyline is just scenes that are aside from the battle, you need to play some battles to collect items to unlock the storyline scenes. So the game started to get boring after a few hours.
A decent idea for a meh game. I do like the idea of a real time strategy game mixed with social deduction. Really, I do. It gives more opportunities to fake out players and try to take the win. And making every character, including legacy characters like Dimitri and Lyn beast races is really cool and finally fulfilling the meme of Furry Emblem. But the game is just SO luck dependent with how much auto piloting the game has. At the very least let me move my character so that I don’t pass another players path and potentially make my other ally an easy target. Deduction more or less doesn’t matter with how OP Shadow is. They do lots of damage, are a sponge, with the right spells can summon MORE enemies and heal themselves to prolong the game and potentially make a comeback, all the while Light just….gets a few extra lives. And if you died in the first round, you already lost a life. Also, locking characters behind a paywall is just really scummy. At least with Gacha, you have a chance to get it. But here you legit can’t get Lyn unless you fork over some money. I’d understand a bit if there was some kind of limit break system, but there isn’t any so you are wanting players to pay for a battle pass to unlock 1 character. I do see potential in this game, and I get it’s not even 24 hours since the game released, but it needs some MASSIVE overhauls to even be considered a fun “social” deduction game. Light needs buffs for guessing correctly, like damage buffs, spell cooldown decreases, and HP buffs. Shadow should have a limit for how many reinforcements they can deploy and should lose the moment they die in round two. And should get penalized for dying in round one, such as longer cooldowns, and less HP. And for a personal taste, I’d like the characters to actually be more unique outside of a spell and weapon type. Perhaps a passive or one more unique spell to make the characters feel more distinct. Also I’d like to see who the VAs are when in the profile screen for the characters. No idea why they aren’t there in a mobile game in the year 2025.
Probably one of the strangest “games” Nintendo has released. No marketing or anything for this game, just a drop and release like they know the game is gonna bomb. Well, the game itself is incredibly barebones. Gameplay is extremely lackluster, even as far as an auto-battler is concerned. You basically spend about 30 seconds in one room doing a battle with spells, pick out the traitor, then spend another 30 seconds fighting again. The story is also very underwhelming, even by Fire Emblem standards. I foresee this game having an end of service by the end of this year, the story is not interesting enough to farm the gameplay in order to unlock more of the story, and the gameplay is too boring and dull to even be played as a brainless auto-battler.
Not what you think. Many people were shocked and confused when this game shadow dropped, while it does stray heavily from FE traditional gameplay, it’s still very addictive with spell customization and gameplay tech. Excited for more characters and story to be released !
i really like it!. i think its very fun and has Amazing designs, i just wish they'd update it more and have more stuff to do. would also love to see it on switch 2 since mouse controls would be perfect for this game. absolutely love the characters but it is a shame all these good ideas are stuck in a mobile game, whereas the switch just gets boring stuff like engage :( but i really enjoy this game a lot
Has potential. Pretty good for what it is. Although the mechanic of guessing who’s the wolf needs more work, there’s not much incentive of paying attention to who could be the culprit. Sure you get additional lives but when it’s a vote of 2 teammates, it’s a quite flip of the coin and the odds are generally in your favor if you guess instead of deducing who the wolf is.
Not exactly what I expected…. Not that it’s a bad thing… Normally. I love Fire Emblem with a passion it’s one of my favorite games. So when a friend of mine told me about this and the chibi art style I was excited. Then I played it… And it’s bad. I don’t understand how the concept of this game works for Fire Emblem at all. I don’t understand how “ find the traitor “ and it being an auto battler that your only control is moving abilities around. I like the turn based old school ones. Where you learned about the characters and developed attachments and there is a goal. I don’t even know what the goal of this game is… I will say the absolute worst game in the series. I even told my friend night one of playing this slop it was awful. I feel the game could have been good with a different style like my original characters and all that and not ripping the name FE. The gameplay also gets old very quickly. As I said it’s an auto battler that you only can move abilities then “ guess “ who the traitor is then it’s another auto boss battle slop and win or lose yay. Maybe two minutes of gameplay at best? It’s just so drab and dull. I wouldn’t recommend it at all if you expect an FE game.
Pretty Decent. At first when I heard Nintendo came out with this TODAY and I was watched the trailer I was so thinking OMG they are ruining fire emblem with Among Us but I like the game overall just wish there was more people besides three people involved on both light and dark sides cause it kinda feels one sided with light always winning but I will change my review based on future updates and they should add the characters from the other series which long time fans of the series( like me) would enjoy.
Fun but seems to be suffering balance issues. As time has progressed the game has gotten more and more unbalanced to the point where it is no longer fun to play. I have updated my rating to one star to reflect this. Its boring to play as light and frustrating to play as shadow. You pay money to level your characters past level 7 or you simply lose to the whales after your rank rises to a certain point, which makes the balancing issues even more apparent.
Mediocre. As a long-time Fire Emblem diehard, this game just felt like Heroes but worse. If you like Among Us and/or furries, it’s fine. The art is good at least. But the game graphics in general look cheap and low-effort. The only part of the game that feels high effort is the animated cutscenes, which look extremely good. Why couldn’t the entire game look like that? We’ve had games like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail for years; mobile games can have high-quality graphics. As for the game’s story, it’s barebones. For a game that heavily pushes the “trust nobody” narrative and appeared to emphasize the story aspect, the writing felt very underwhelming. Kurt’s “secret” was obvious from the first 5 seconds of playing. We know nothing about the world aside from Kurt’s country and the villains. The character designs are cool, I’ll give it that. Tl;dr this is a fine game if you just want to turn your brain off for a bit and play something. It just doesn’t feel like Fire Emblem.
Addicted to Flaws. The gameplay is quick and addicting but there are flaws that plague ever aspect of the combat system. Players who are being revived shouldn’t be able to sustain damage for a period to prevent the shadows from chaining a spell into a hit for a kill that couldn’t be prevented. The weapon triangle is a staple of the series but why is it so brutal in this game in particular? Why do the players move in such a way that is counterproductive to the goals of either side?
Fire emblem furry among us. I’ve played this game. The game story is interesting but the problem is with this game is that is just lackluster. It talks about a prince who wants to rebuild his kingdom and fight against enemies, who could be your allies in disguise This game is basically furry among us to wear, your enemy can turn into a furry and attack the mechanics are so easy to read to where you can easily figure out who the enemy this game could’ve been more interesting if they made it better to where you can disguise who you attack, but at the end of the day is just a lackluster furry among us game
Good, can be better.. All in all the game is solid. Good game play and feels like a strategy game despite the auto fight. Tho the game play is repetative and a bit boring. I hope they had a sorta “co-op” dungeon mode. For friends to play 3 players, vs 5 hard levels. And at the end a random npc to fight as a boss. Other then that im only giving 3 stars because being the shadow is eather to easy, or imposible. The triangle damage system kinda gives tomuch power. If i play ref shadow and BOTH of the light are using blue damage spells? Im just kinda dead. Even with using green and blue soilder summons to help. It just feels like an imposible game to balance once more heros get added, lyn already being to strong to deal with if the one using it is smart.
Riveting, but needs modern UX. Amazing game with an addictive multiplayer real-time strategy loop. There’s an incentive to grind each character out regardless of your favorite to maximize your personal customized load-out. Even the seeming “Pay2Win” aspects are kept under control, with each character having their own competitive rank, and each rank holding a level cap; no getting obliterated as a beginner! The Bazaar adds another social aspect, acting as a stock market where all items are sold and bought by other users, who put up their own competitive price. It could use a better filter system, and an easier way to mass scrap junk items. The Season Pass could very much use better rewards: by the time you reach later pages, receiving 15 Tokens feels like chump change. You’re also locked into only receiving points for Daily & Weekly Challenges, which you burn through quickly with little-to-no progress after Page 15. Even if minimally, a good 5 or 10 points per game would add to that incentive to grind!
It’s definitely a game.. Completely honestly, I didn’t even know this released until I heard the news indirectly. I played Fire Emblem Shadows for about an hour or two, and what immediately stood out to me was the lack of depth the game had. With only 2 rounds of combat and 3 people, all with generally low HP, auto-attacking instead of being able to control your movement directly, and a few gripes that might just be me issues, it felt sincerely half-baked at times. Some of the only good things I could say is that it was okay in concept, with skills being able to be used on tiles instead of just on people, and the 2D art and voice acting are both standout. Otherwise, it’s eh… it feels like a cash grab but I don’t completely hate it…
It’s fun, quick, and a great time. People are bashing on this game because it’s “not fire emblem”. But after going through the tutorial and gaining more characters and thus more deck variety, the game really opens up. I can’t wait for more characters and skills to be added to even further the variety and strategy. It’s very quick to play a match and very low stakes. I think it’s great to just have a couple of minutes of fun at least and hours at most. Both the light and dark teams are fun to play and have different strategies to them. Honestly idk how long I’ll be invested in this game, but it’s great for what it is, and there is surprisingly no pay Gacha element. There’s a battle pass and some costumes and that’s it, at least for now. So very free to play.
Simple fun with Potential. First of all, I want to say thank you for not making this another gacha. Yes there’s the 9$ battle pass for playable Lyn, but I think that’s not too bad when you consider that everything else gameplay wise is free. For the game, it does feel a little barebones now, but I do think there’s fun in figuring out what spells to use and how to try to trick or figure out the traitor. I think with more types of spells in the future this game will get more interesting and have more depth, and this is a fine start. Characters and art are good, I wish nothing but happiness for Kurt and Rose (surely they will never betray each other 😁).
Game has its hooks in me. This game is a fantastic way to kill some time. Each battle is bite-sized and lasts about 3-5 minutes. The social deduction element suffers from the same problems all similar games suffer from — to have fun with it you need to play with people who are capable of paying even the most minute amount of attention, which sadly means 99% of people don’t qualify. However, the games are so fast and generally consequence free (you still gain in ranking when you lose, at least for a while) that it doesn’t bother me too much. You gain in power by leveling up all your characters, each of whom has four spells that level with them, three of which can be used by every other character as well. Super neat, though a bit confusing at first. If I have one complaint it’s that you’re gonna get one-shot a lot early on. Even later on progression, if you’re light and the enemy is dark and has a decently leveled spell that exploits your element you might end up one-shot. But it’s fun and worth your time.
A lot better than Heroes. The game is surprisingly fun, I can’t stop playing! It could definitely be improved, but my only real complaint is a lack of a proper story mode. Yes, there is a story, but there isn’t really any story game mode, as the story is just a bunch of dialogue that you unlock by playing. Other than that, would definitely recommend!
Could be better. Heroes in another world are caught up in the empire’s ploy to raze the kingdom. Two disciples fight in the name of the light goddess, Divine Dragon Naga, and one traitorous disciple falls victim to the nightmares of the wolf god Fenris. If the disciples of light can deduct who the disciple of darkness is after the first round of a quick 2-round auto-battle RTS combat, they have a huge advantage going into the second round. Some heroes and lords from other titles find themself amnesiac in a new world, with new animal-based designs, and unique takes on their “evil” forms. Lyndis gets horse ears or becomes a centaur, Dimitri has cat ears and becomes a big blue lion…you get the gist. It’s a decent spin-off, but it’s kind of alarming that this was shadow-dropped. I find the “social deduction” elements are so minimal to gameplay it very may well not even matter. It essentially boils down to kind of buggy PvP RTS combat. I hope development continues on this nonetheless. It immensely respects the archetypes and history of the franchise. You even get green and red cavaliers that turn into a panther and a bull. That’s love. I see potential for a diamond in the rough here, but the rough is rough. Fire Emblem fans dissuaded by this, it might be worth to give it a chance in the future. But I don’t hate it.
A Mindless, Poorly Designed Social Game. Fire Emblem Shadows is an autochess social deduction game that is extremely shallow in its design mechanics. My biggest praises go to its character design and music. Character art is gorgeous, and its music is very nice to listen to. Unfortunately, my biggest praises are the *only* praises I have for this game. While its intentions to create a deduction game that takes a few minutes to play are admirable, its mindless gameplay loop that lacks balancing (wins are usually weighted towards the light team) mixed with a social deduction game that only has a maximum of three players (very low for a *social* deduction game) and lacks any major social features outside of disciple customization, coupled with a weak story creates a game that both lacks the tactics Fire Emblem is known for and the tensity that a social deduction game has.
Super fun. I went into the game thinking it was a little weird of a concept, I hadn’t even paid attention to the game until i got an email from Nintendo about it. But what an absolute gem, I have been playing for two days now and absolutely enjoy the game.
Decent game muddied by West Coast US culture. The gameplay is alright. Not catching my attention but I am playing since they just released Mecha Corrin (wallet forgive me for I have sinned…). Also nice that it has dual audio. Also very nice that they forgoed the gacha monetization model However I have to play battles to accumulate currency to read through the story. But the story starts off nonsensically with the heroine masquerading as a male (alright) but also a royal family member and the king’s sole surviving heiress. Cool. But the she has a fiancée who is also royalty and is aware of her masquerading as a boy. Okay no, do these writers know anything about legacy? Familial responsibilities? When you are born in such positions where other people, an ENTIRE POPULATION rely on you, you make choices at the sacrifice of your own personal needs and desires. Maybe this relationship will be explored that gives me confidence and excitement but it is not giving me the motivation to want to play more. But cute waifus and a prospective son of Ashnard getting a beast form that would make his pops proud just might keep me around. We will see.
Garbage. The shadow side is way too overpowered. They start off as part of your group, but they can and they will betray you. So as soon as the game starts you’ll probably get hit by an attack they take out most of your HP if not all of it. Then they kill the other person and let the monsters kill them. Naga will come in and kill the remaining monsters so you can get to the traitor round. Then you pick the traitor, most of the time the game will not so subtly tell you who the traitor is, which is good. Since when you go into the traitor round, you’ll need the extra life in an attempt to survive longer than one round. Guessing right means you get two lives, one is immediately used, since the traitor killed you in the first round. So you get to come back to life once in the second round. You start out with your one partner in a room full of monsters. If the room isn’t flooded with monsters, it will be when the traitor summons them and you are over whelmed. You do little to no damage while the traitor and the monsters can one shot you with ease. Congratulations, you lost, again. . .Isn’t this fun? I managed to make it to level 5 and I added skill that I thought might help me. Like healing, but I still can’t heal fast enough to keep up with the pounding I’m getting from the traitor and monsters.
How?. Where do I even begin? The game itself is to loose and the auto battle system. For a fire emblem game, basically making this RTS at the same time. It misses all the notes of fire emblem entirely. Not to mention the cast is written poorly and look the characters look good in my opinion. But if you’re going to have a monster mode. Make all the cast who turns into monsters go full monsters. Why is it most of the women have this goofy furry appearance?! I think it would have been way better if you just made them go full beast. Take the Rhino for instance he was done right he was cool. The other monsters are goofy. Then let’s go back to the combat….there is no real hard punishment nor reward for being deceptive nor tricked. Plus certain units can just one shot others out the gate if they are high enough level. It’s just bad and pointless. I feel this was just an excuse to make furry versions of fire emblem characters.
Great game, needs some tweaks for more depth.. Having a blast with the game but it can use some changes. One thing id change is during the voting phase, everyone has a vote already placed by default. This makes people think they are getting voted by someone without them actually voting for the person and influences peoples decisions. Hide peoples votes until they actually choose someone.
Neat idea, execution could be better. Have only played a few rounds so far but the imposter searching aspect seems pretty half-baked. Only getting one round to decide who it is usually makes it a coin-flip decision. Plus the outcome of the first round is meaningless since you still get to vote after it even if everyone gets wiped.
Philosophically Intriguing. I'm in love with the writing so far. It gives you a lot to think about. Love it! My best recommendation to players is to slow down when you play this game. Slow down! Read the story, don't just click through. It's worth it, trust me :) Feels very relevant to the world, to humanity. I really admire the Fire Emblem franchise. Keep up the great work!
Really good, but needs more content and refinement!. I’m actually really enjoying the game so far, I just think it needs more stuff added to it, like some more modes and characters, like all the event modes that FEH has, but the core gameplay loop is actually quite entertaining and enjoyable, I think they just need to build on it and fine tune it.
Nice time waster. It’s solid. It’s not really Fire Emblem, but it’s fun. I don’t mind auto battlers since I’m a big fan of the Yo-Kai Watch series, so that’s not a huge problem for me. My problem is that there isn’t much variance in the matches themselves. It’s always; 1 round to fight a single wave of enemies, then guess the shadow, then fight the shadow. It’s just that time and time again. I think it’s fun to play just to play, but nothing to play seriously. Never thought Furry Among Us Emblem would ever be a thing but it’s here and it’s just… fine. Mid, even. But I enjoy it and think you should at least try it. People tend to expect too much from mobile games, so my advice is to not expect anything and just enjoy the ride.
Give this game a try!. I was hesitant at first given the trailer showed nothing but original characters. But one gave this game a shot it is actually very fun and addicting. For Fire Emblem fans, there are returning characters with a twist to them. Overall the gameplay if fun, engaging, and free to play friendly(so far)
Simple BUT Fun. Pretty cute game. I love the new MC (Kurt). Combat isn’t as complex as in a traditional FE game, but it’s still enjoyable, mainly because of the competitive aspect. Climbing up the ranks is always fun, especially if you’re playing as a villain, or in this game’s case, a Shadow. Gameplay feels like a quick and simple version of Among Us: two friends, one foe. Just like in Among Us, the foe is disguised as a friend, and you have to vote them out. It might sound boring at first, but the more you play, the better it gets. “An easier Among Us? Which was already an easy game?!” Sure, it might be easier, but that mainly comes from how short the matches are. The anxiety and rush of guessing who the foe is still remain. Unlike in Among Us, if you guess wrong, not all is lost, you still have a chance to fight. This is where the game differentiates itself and adds depth. If you guess right, you get a buff and some health back. If you guess wrong, there’s a massive decrease in the buff and health you receive, which you’ll most likely need if the foe is genuinely good. Anyway I’d say give it a try. I originally was with the crowd who thought this game looked lame from the trailer. Don’t judge a book from its cover though. And don’t follow the crowd. Play and form your own opinion. Anyway enough yapping. Let’s get onto why this game is TRULY peak… - Buff Furry Shadow Dimitri - Tomboy Shadow Kurt - Interesting Story/Chars
Somehow, Heroes is better.. I do not understand who this game is supposed to appeal to. It’s just a bunch of mobile game buzzwords blended together into a terrible milkshake. Autobattler, Among Us, season pass, furries??? I don’t know any Fire Emblem fans who would want to play this, nor do I understand why the average mobile game player would want to play this over more popular games like Cookie Run Kingdom or Umamusume: Pretty Derby. This game will be dead in a year’s time. I’ll go back to playing the somehow better Fire Emblem mobile game.
not great. An experimental project that unfortunately just does not make the cut. The story is shallow and cliche, and the gameplay has the complexity of a rice cracker. Absolutely no sense of progression and each game loop takes less than 5 minutes to complete. It’s brainless. There are only 3 players per match and there’s only 2 roles, good and bad. If the game loop was longer and was structured to be more like secret h!tler, it would have been more interesting. But you get bored by at least the 5th round of playing. This game clearly needed more time in testing and development to be something better than a lazy cash grab with the premium currency and season pass.
Fun but deeply flawed. Fire Emblem Shadows is a 2v1 auto-battler using a rock-paper-scissors damage system. The story and content are currently quite sparse and can be finished within 3 weeks of playing just the 4 matches a day asked by the battle pass. The monetization isn’t overbearing, consisting of a battle pass that lets you unlock an extra character, palette swap skins, and the ability to skip levels on your characters. However, the balance of abilities is very bad. There is a small pool of abilities that are necessary to be viable and no space to experiment with others once you have those. The shadow team players can also use equipment to be able to one-shot light team players built to maximize their health when the shadow player is only one level higher.
A different but amazing fire emblem game!!. There is no gacha. All micro transactions are completely optional and you can genuinely play for the love of the characters and gameplay, which the characters have really good character designs and the game plays really fast and u can always test out different characters for different roles which is really fun. There is no meta , there is no huge text of blocks, the story is fun to follow and interesting and all the characters stand out with classic archetypes with modern twists, Panther/The Green Knight is currently my favorite. I think fire emblem fans and new fans to the series should try this game because I’ve genuinely haven’t had this much fun since I started playing brawl stars 3 years ago
It’s okay. Game was okay when I played when it first came out. I deleted because it was a little boring and repetitive. I wanted to redownload and see if they’ve added more or changed things, but it makes me replay the tutorial? Doesn’t give me an option to sign back in. I’m not willing to do the tutorial again because why would I need to? I don’t understand why I can’t login and just resume where I left off? It’s 2026 that should be the mandatory with any game at this point. I’m just going to delete. Okay game with repetitive game play. Unique? Absolutely.
Actually an underrated gem!. So like…I know a lot of people were skeptical about this game. Myself included. But I decided to play on my own and I ended up really enjoying it. The gameplay isn’t as simplistic as I assumed; there’s deep strategy involved and it strikes a balance between not being too lenient while also not being too harsh. The story itself is quite intriguing, and I even like it more than some of the books from feh. I think it’s a very fun and interesting ride. Also, you aren’t forced to spend money to get what you want. It all comes down to playing! I really recommend this game, and even if it looks strange at first glance, it’s a lot better than you’ll think. While there isn’t too much content yet, the game just started and I’m sure there’ll be a lot more coming in the future, which I look forward to!
Trust nobody not even this game. Do you remember that old commercial for the first Fire Emblem in the US. It had the tagline “build an army trust nobody.” Someone decided yeah that’s a great idea let make a game out of it. That game is terrible the story is instantly confusing with no adequate setup. The gameplay is an auto battler in series renowned for strategy being able to choose how I move my units is a core part of Fire Emblem. This is not Fire Emblem at all it is wolf in sheep’s clothing funny cause that is what happens in the freakin tutorial. Go play any other game go play Balatro if you want depth or if you want a good engaging story go play Limbus Company. This game deserves to be cast back into the shadows from whence it came!!!
Overall Opinion. Honestly, overall, it’s not a bad game. The gems pricing could be better values like a 1:10 ratio ($10=1000 gems) and I’m not personally a big fan of not being able to control my character’s movements or actions outside of the magic use. I do love the music, artwork, UI interface, and overall ease of use. It’s simple to pick up and put down at any time with little worry. The characters are well designed and fleshed out and I WISH they were part of a mainline game. The rewards progression feels alright; not perfect but it’s pretty good. Overall if I gave them a 1-5 scale for everything it would be: Gameplay = 3/5 Story = 4/5 Character Design = 5/5 Character Lore = 5/5 Music = 5/5 Artwork = 5/5 UI = 5/5 So total rating would be 4/5 or 4.5/5.
Sus Amongus but Stupid. This is definitely some form of an experiment from Intelligent Systems, so it wouldn't do any good to sugarcoat any feedback. Perhaps this would be a fine mobile game published by a solo developer, but this is an IS game under the Fire Emblem IP. For an FE game, the strategy is dull, the "social" aspect adds nothing of real value, and it feels half-baked. Some clearly find enjoyment out of this game, and it's free, so definitely give it a shot if it seems to speak to you. However, if you're a Fire Emblem fan, odds are that this will fall completely short of your expectations. Not quite a one star game, as the character art is gorgeous. Of course, if you want great-looking character art, give FEH a try. It's pay-to-win but F2P is fun if you ignore some of the PvP shenanigans. Overall, Shadows is a mediocre mobile game and a terrible Fire Emblem game.
A Neat Little way to Spend Time, Excited to see What Comes. Admittedly, I felt that the gameplay looked a little simplistic when first watching the trailer. However, I found the gameplay to be somewhat addicting and a good way to spend 15 to 20 minutes playing. Gameplay is deeper than what is initially shown. Maneuvering with different skills to try and deceive and also to win is more complex than what is apparent, making it fun to learn as you play. The character designs are in my opinion very interesting and unique, and I love the callbacks to classic Fire Emblem. The story is more on the basic side, but has me more captivated than Fire Emblem Heroes. I’m curious to see what this game will offer in terms of new character, characters from throughout the Fire Emblem Series and new modes and forms of gameplay that might be added in the future.
Cool idea needs rework. The idea that one of you teammates is a traitor is a very interesting but it lacks polish. Matches are too quick (I get it it’s a mobile but it just way to fast) and doesn’t feel like fire emblem ( you only control your selected characters and the control you do have it’s just the magic and attack not movement) but okay it takes getting used too. So the gameplay doesn’t fill like fire emblem the cool new idea doesn’t work. If the maps had more variety and we had more control, more teammates to make guessing hard it would be a pretty fun game. But nope it’s fast easy and lowkey pay to win.
It’s okay. I genuinely don’t think this game is going to last even a single year. The gameplay is extremely simple, the story is boring (I haven’t gotten very far into it though, not that there’s very much to even get into). There genuinely no real reason to play this game over any other mobile game, but it is okay at wasting time if that’s something you want.
Pay to win, do not buy. This game is literally not possible to win above a certain rank unless you pay massive amounts of money. Do not bother. If you buy enough levels on your character, you can one-shot or two-shot any enemy player, making it tedious and unfun. The level cap doesn’t work. They must remove the ability to buy character XP. Worst FE game ever made by a wide margin due to blatant pay to win mechanics, makes Engage look like the Sistine Chapel.
Deceptively Interesting. So, don’t get me wrong, I love this game and think its super fun. I think that there’s so many neat things about this being quick, bite sized content that’s easy to consume. The mechanics of voting out the Shadow player seems to be beyond me, however. I haven’t been wrong on a vote, because usually the shadow players never change their votes at all when the phase comes up. That’s not even the main thing that boggles me. There’s been countless times where I’ve played both Light and Shadow and I don’t play to kill, just to blend in and be fine, but I somehow end up with both teammates voting me out instantly. Perhaps this has something to do with playing with friends? Even then, there’s been so many times where that type of situation happens, then the Moon Room feels unbeatable because people just don’t play or they give up and don’t make smart decisions to beat the Shadow player. I feel like this game has a lot that it can offer to players in terms gameplay and what it has to offer, but it also feels like its limiting itself in the same, oddly uncomfortable ways.
Interesting, but to what End?. At first I thought I would only like this game for its art alone, and while I need to go further to give the story more of a fair shake, I’ve gotten to like the gameplay somehow. It’s for sure a weird way to take Fire Emblem, ”mobile strategy with Among Us gimmicks” but its easy to pick up, and there’s a nice balance to either play for light as an easier way to play, or choose to fight for the shadow and go for a bit more of a challenge. I appreciate that I don’t have to work too hard to get new characters to play with, but I worry the strategy of “target myself to trick the others is a little too easy to pull off. Some get lucky guesses, but there really isn’t any penalty for offing yourself to get the heat off your back. This will be a hard game to balance, and I worry it’s going to disappear before it can reach its full potential. All in all, I like it, will probably play a lot of it over the next few weeks, but I hope they add some changes to make the gameplay more dynamic. And I want to see more of these characters.

Great but could add more features. I really like the concept of the game where you battle together and then try to see who is suspicious. I do wish that each match has more than 3 players to make it more complicated on who it could be. Maybe 5 players? But-- So far, it's pretty good!!
Barely Fire Emblem or social deduction. I live Fire Emblem and all but this is not it. You have no control over the your characters aside from the occasional magic. Barely social deduction ether because you can’t communicate to the other players. No real point to winning the first found. Gameplay is incredibly boring after the tutorial.
Awful. Worst Fire Emblem game ever
Surprisingly fun. Had a lot more fun then I expected to have
Weak gameplay. Gets 2 stars for the art and voice acting. Some effort was made. In that area. The gameplay is extremely low quality. Don’t download.
This isn’t it. The concept isn’t without merit, but it’s another demonstration of a game’s core concept being uprooted by P2W or just players with slightly more progression. Thus, the matchmaking does a poor job. You can do everything right in the ‘find the traitor’ round, only for none of it to matter against player(s) with a weapon just one tier higher than you. The bonuses / consequences for the whole point of the game are weak and it devolves into another test of just who has collected the best stuff / played more. Disappointing. Story delivery is extremely, extremely weak and pathetic. Even after acquiring decent and well-renowned voice talent. This is such a sad use of an exceptional IP and I really wanted to like it. IAP is to be expected and I don’t think it’s too bad at present, but while slight upgrades can completely discard the whole social deduction element of the game, what is the point? You’re then just running through a tedious slideshow with a predetermined outcome.

A Disappointment to the Franchise. I am a die hard Fire Emblem fan. Every game I have played is a believed masterpiece by yours truly. This is not one of them. There is no tactics and none of what makes Fire Emblem so charming to begin with. This game needs a serious rework.
English CV. Why am I forced to listen to English voice actors?
Not a Fire Emblem Game. It’s insane that Nintendo and Intelligent Systems were willing to slap their name on what clearly was not created as a Fire Emblem game. Disgraceful
Nintendo designer OP. It’s 2025 now, the cellphone can even play 3A games such as death stranding and assassins creed. You made a 5x5 SLG game for a 6-year-old kid? I prefer stay in FEH. The 1 point is for your nice opening animation. Wasted 🙄🙄
A whole new fire emblem :O. Great so far fresh take it has MOBA + Werewolf vibes
Its boring. Theres really no gameplay Unfortunately its really boring 😔
Compte Nintendo.
Umm, where is the game play?. Who asked for this? Who wants to watch a game be played? Especially fire emblem. I wanted to play a fire emblem game. This is terrible.
Wtf is this. Seriously
Doesn’t work. Game doesnt load - stuck on main screen ….
Stuck on menu screen. The screen is stuck on the main menu. Cannot play the game :(
Waste of fire emblem name. Guess the traitor simulator
Bruh. I paid like 50 bucks for the game to not work. My wife left me as I told her I was investing in this game, which I have claimed would be the new FE heroes
Barely a fire emblem game. None of the enjoyment of the originals are here. There is none of the charm or tactics from previous titles.
Boring. There’s very little to do and what there is, I don’t like. I have been logging in, after trying to play it for about a month, to see if it was going anywhere. It’s the same. Also the story is UNACCEPTABLY sexist. There’s no reason for male heirs only in a made up story in this century.
The game isn’t the issue, 90% of you playing are.. I’ve never in my entire life seen a “strategy” game filled with the most absolute, braindead players I have ever seen in my life. The game is actually really well made and has a lot of different types of strategic mechanics but then you have the people who never use warps, buffs, debuffs, status ailments, area attacks or even summons. If you think the game is too “auto” then please stop playing the game or start using moves other than mend and Elfire, because there’s absolutely no reason to let the game “auto”.
Boring. A traitor? LOL
Promising; but needs work. I feel like this game could thrive if it was better balanced and updated. Currently; games are extremely short and the gameplay is rather shallow as a whole. I find it incredibly easy to identify the traitor. You should rework the game to have 5 players instead of just three. And there needs to be more anonymous ways to betray- a lot of the time you can be caught immediately.
Just a bad design. That game is a shell from being a real fire emblem.
Doesn’t work. Loaded the game up for the first time and doesn’t progress past a blank notice screen after linking my Nintendo account.
fire emblem amongus. its a weird game, but its pretty fun. i really appreciate the fact that theres no stamina to force breaks on you every 5 games
I love Fire Emblem. As someone who plays Fire Emblem Heroes, this game is amazing
Don’t waste your Time. A mux between Among Us and Fire Emblem, but you need to be blind to don’t know who is the evil. Combat are boring. Stay away from that game, isn’t worth your time.
Fun, but underwhelming. First of all, have to mention it, to call it a Fire Emblem game is quite the stretch. On its own however, I think it has potential— it does bring a fresh idea to the franchise; a traitor system. However, a shame it falls in what feels like such an incomplete game. Even down to some UI elements in the layout, some details are unpolished. Even the story feels… shallow and far-fetched. I feel bad saying it also shows in the gameplay and lack of content too, the auto battle is souless and feels off to the user. One of the selling points of Fire Emblem is the strategy aspect, so just having to wing around skills/effects is pretty boring. I did enjoy myself a bit, and some character’s designs are nice (with good references such as Alberta and the panther/green knight archetype we see in the series), but… yeah. It is disappointing from the view of a Fire Emblem lover.
Decent start, much potential to be had!. Gameplay’s pretty simple so far, but I think there’s actually potential with this. If the battles were longer with more players (maybe 6-10), then I think it would be a lot more fun. I do wish there were more solo battles in story similar to FEH, it does feel a bit barebones there. Perhaps maybe other types of battles as well with the whole social deduction?
“Treachery Game” has become a joke within my friend group. To some degree, I see the vision here. Having your actions reveal what your alignment could possibly be is interesting, and the game is by far the fastest game in the genre I’ve played. It even blows One Night Ultimate Werewolf’s length out of the water. However, there are 2 major flaws that really drag this game down for me. Firstly, you can really get away with playing this like a numbers game. Players who guess the evil player right are individually rewarded, and the boost just one good player gets is enough to give good a meaningful advantage. Essentially, good is rewarded with more consistent results if they are divided and not cooperating during voting. Now, this is from a low level player so I could be misunderstanding this aspect, but this is a relatively minor issue. Secondly, and this is the real killer, but in this social deduction game, there are no socials. I suppose that’s why they call it a treachery game, but in doing it like this, this game loses the spirit of the genre. Even in its most complex forms, social deduction is often a pretty silly genre. You may end up getting perfectly accurate info that makes no sense, or suggest seemingly accurate game states that end up being completely off the mark. It’s a genre where you spend time backstabbing your friends and then laugh about it during the role reveal. With games being so short and there being no chance to socialize, it REALLY feels like you’re not playing with real people, even more so than other mobile games like Mario Kart Tour. While One Night Ultimate Werewolf prioritizes a “gotcha” moment over actual social deduction, at least that game has a social aspect. And in comparison to the also free BOTC app? Forget about it.
