DC Metro and Bus - Tracker Comments & Reviews 2026

Ad free?. I’m wondering what happened to the ad-free version. I purchased it some time ago but am not able to reactivate with this update. The ads aren’t the big fulls teen ones that seemed to pop up at the worst possible time, leaving the schedule unviewable. Now the ads are small, but still annoying!!! I might purchase ad-free again if I could find how to do it, but it’s not under settings or alerts - at least I couldn’t find it!! 3-stars only because of that. I love this app!

Inaccurate timing. This app used to work like magic but now it has gone way down hill. The bus schedule is so inaccurate and it’s annoying and becomes a problem with trying to commute to work or take my child to school. WMATA needs to make updates to the app to give you actual real times. Today I walked 25 minutes to get home because the next bus said 38 minutes just for it to ride pass me 13 minutes into my walk.

Washington Metro. I am delighted to say your metro system is just wonderful! We just spent our first week in Washington, a delightful surprise. One of your top attractions (but with powerful competition !!!) Spotless carriages and stations , pleasant and helpful staff. One negative for newcomers… Metro stations are not signposted!! A significant issue. Fares are very reasonable and zero graffiti noted! We are world travelers -/ Sydney, Frankfurt, Rome, Paris London and worst of all… Boston- our current home! Thank you for a wonderful experience —- Washington and it’s Metro!

Recent update is full of problems. The app is amazing. I’ve been using it for more than a year without any problem. But 3 weeks ago since I downloaded the last version it has errors all the time and does not show the real bus/circulator scheduled, plus changes the time randomly every time I open it.

Fat page-jogging ads block content!. Application worked flawlessly until they introduced big fat ads right in the middle the content that hogged the page, rendering the information all but invisible. Not kidding. There is no bus arrival data anymore. No good for cold winter mornings when you freeze your buns off waiting more that 2 minutes. This app used to have me at my stop waiting no more than a minute. Now with the page-hogging ads, I'm looking for another app.

Does the job. Bug noticed as of June 16th 2024: bus stops will display busses traveling in the opposite direction. For example, when looking at a bus stop on the 33 route with busses headed south/east, I see busses labeled as traveling north. Not sure if these are all south east bound busses that are mislabeled, or if the data for the stop across the street is somehow "spilling" into the one I'm looking at. Either way, it makes the app seem buggy and like the information isn't reliable. Developers, please address this. Otherwise, it's fine. I use it almost daily.

My bus stops disappeared. I’ve been using this app for several years, and it works mostly well (aside from the timed video ads, which are a real drag on the usability of the app), but this morning I opened the app to find all my “favorite” bus stops missing. It looks like they deleted many of the stops along my bus route from the app. I checked the WMATA webpage and there have been no changes to the route. Unfortunately this makes the app useless to me now.

Route Directions have not shown for months. This has been the most reliable app that I’ve used to get around DC but for some reason, the route directions have not been showing for a while. I’ve emailed about this a couple of times with no response. Very disappointing especially if you consider how obstructive the ads are to the UI/UX experience. You can’t say that the product is free to use if you make it impossible for people to use it freely.

App Works Great—- then bus *disappears*. This app is fantastic, until suddenly there’s no data. This has happened multiple times when tracking the T2 bus from my home in Bethesda southbound to Friendship Heights, and northbound from Friendship Heights towards my home in Bethesda. “WMATA reporting no data” appears on the screen. So frustrating. Makes an otherwise fantastic app completely useless. Several times in Friendship Heights, my bus is tracked by the app, and I time my arrival at the stop for 10 minutes before the bus is predicted to arrive. A few minutes after my arrival, that bus disappears from the app and the next bus (which is to arrive 30 or so minutes later) is the only one showing up on the app! What happened? Did my bus show up early? No, about 8 minutes later, my bus shows up at the stop (not on the app), and the driver is oblivious to the problem. (There is also the additional problem that buses show up at the stop with Not In Service on their displays, and you have to ask the driver to identify their bus— super annoying). I want to do right by the environment by using public transportation, but WMATA and this app have not ironed out the kinks.

Messy Interface not focused on the main task.. Because the feedback mechanism does not work in the app.... App interface is really messy and it makes it hard to use. The workflow is also not accommodating to the regular scenario for the new and current user. Consider that the Apple Maps app opens to a map. It tells you where you are and helps you get to where you want to go. The interface is simple, clean, effective. It uses progressive disclosure to bury the “additional information”. Isn’t Metro an app that users use to find out how to get to their destination in the same manner, simply focused on the use of metro services? Suggest that this app should simply open to a map with the flags showing where I am and where the bus stops are. Everything else should be a drill down. The search at the top of the map display should be the drill down for locations giving priority to metro routes . Like the maps app, an expansion below could show other options. Maps shows a fast nav menu for restaurants, etc. metro could do something similar and show stops, initially organized by distance from user. And if Advertizing is necessary, please consider the use of Apples iAd interface instead of the Pandora approach to butchering the user experience.

Whoever was in charge of app placement needs to be fired.. Taken a walk with me. Imagine, if you will, that circumstances out of your control cause you to be lose track of time one morning - a morning you have to go to work. Imagine you’re rushing, getting ready, trying to see when the next bus comes. You load up your friendly Metro app to check the times and before it displays an ad before it shows you the information you need to know. Or rather, it should show you the information you need to know. Imagine what if some genius decided that you can’t the bus or train times or use any part of the app without watching an ad first. AND THEN imagine that if that ad doesn’t load, you can’t do anything about it. That’s what happened to me. Twice this week. This insane app wouldn’t load the ads no matter what I tried (including closing the app and reopening it) so I couldn’t check the times and I missed my bus twice. This app and the amount of ads it serves you is ridiculous. You’re literally better off using Apple/Google maps, praying they’re feeding you accurate times, and for any questions regarding service outages, just ask a Metro employee at a station. I hate this app.

Missing Information. I use the app often, and am happy to have it as a resource. I just wish it contained more specific information. For instance, I am happy to have the bus route alerts, however they don’t actually list the bus routes—just the streets that are affected. Unless you know the actual route, you won’t know which busses are being referenced.

Wasted App. This would be a very useful app if not for all the worthless advertisements appearing when trying to access information. Too many ads for stupid things like Google, the world west largest tech company. Like they need to advertise. What’s worse is that I need timely information, I don’t have 30 seconds to a minute to waste waiting for ads to clear out too access transit information. Worst part is clear an ad only to have another one appear the moment I click on another bus route or metro rail line.

Missing Bus Route W8. Dear Developer, When I downloaded this app a few years back, the bus route for the W8 schedule was available to view. I am not sure what happened, but now the bus route has disappeared. I typed W8 route in the search engine of the app and the route directions does not appear. It only appears for the W6 route instead. As a disabled rider with mobility issues the W8 bus stops in front of the building I reside in. Since being disabled I have to come to rely on this bus and rail to get to and from where I need to go on a weekly basis. Rectifying this issue would be beneficial to my neighbors as well as others that utilize this bus route for their needs as well. Thank you.

App is Great! Although needs emergency instant messenger. Love the app really useful and always works. Best feature is the metro map. However, there should be a way to instantly report things/alert metro police. For instance right now on the metro there is a homeless, crazy, or drunk person stumbling throughout the cart and has not gotten off. It would be nice to have an instant messenger to alert your organization when disorderly conduct that is not criminal is occurring so you will be able to remove this person from bother the paying customers. Or when for the 100th time in the hour the kids take over some of the cars, blast music and dance.

Needs a way to show how far apart stations are. One should be able to be on a platform and determine how long it will take to get to that stop to their destination. King St metro didn’t have a map on the platform with that information and it would be helpful if all platforms had this as well as the app.

Often fake predictions. No way to tell if actual track. I ride Metrobus frequently and have wasted much time waiting for buses that showed a certain number of minutes out; then to have that bus “disappears” and the time reset to show 30 or more minutes out. Obviously for the next bus. Get your act together Fake

Fraud Alert - DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE THIS APP. I downloaded the app and was forced to enter credit card information for my “free account”. I awoke less than 24 hours later with fraudulent charges to multiple cards. The first card I entered was rejected and I received a notification that the card I entered wouldn’t work for some reason. I entered another…same message. A third card was finally accepted and it’s all very clear in hindsight that my stupidity was multiplied by three so these thieves could get not just one card, but three. I should have known better. THIS IS DISPICABLE!!! APPLE NEEDS TO BE AWARE!!!

Useless. This app is so useless. 0/10 would not recommend. First, the ads are out of control. If you’re trying to do something quickly to figure out your route, don’t even bother because 3 ads will pop up that you have to wait to clear before you can do anything. Next, the Silver Spring station bus bays are not included in the routes for buses that begin and end at the station. Last, the stops are not comprehensive in the list. I was looking for a bus so I could go back home and the app was absolutely no help in figuring out where I could get on because where I actually found the bus was not listed!

Big problems - here are 3. The app has gotten worse over time, esp with its ads. 1. I just updated the app, and lost all favorites - and apparently other data as well - bus stops are no longer showing up in the map or listed under bus lines. Update disabled app. 2. Ads are ubiquitous, arise multiple times in a short process, are loud, and are sometimes difficult or impossible to close (supposedly the latter was fixed by the above update?). The ads can make it take 2-3 times as long to check a bus arrival tine - deadly for a situation when seconds and minutes matter. 3. And the underlying data is terrible - the "ghost buses" that zoom past and were not on the app, the buses that are on the app as 10, then 8, then 4 minutes away then are no longer coming, the bus that's 3 minutes away from you for 15 minutes, etc. A significant portion of the time that I *can* use the app its data has these glitches. Is this app sponsored by Uber, to make the bus as inconvenient and slow as possible?! Needs fixes.

Works Okay. The metro app is sorta okay when it is barely working. Some of the things that are frustrating are : there use to be pictures for bus stops which was helpful to figure out the bus stops but that was taken away, also ad has increased so much that you cannot do anything without ads every second tap in the app and now cannot see anything with ad covering everything and now when trains are coming has stopped as well

Serious decline for Metro Bus times. The real-time predictions for arrivals of metro buses on the J1,2,3 line used to be spot on. In the past 4 months they become so unreliable that I can no longer use them to know whether I will miss or catch the bus. The ID of 1,2 or 3 is random although fortunately any of them will take me to the Medical Center Metro. But coming home, it is outrageous and a number of times I wished I had known the times were so off I should have taken an Uber or called someone to pick me up. Metro train schedules were ok but you don’t need the app once you are in the station. I keep hoping the old reliability will return but was disappointed yet again today. What happened and when will your real-time get real again?

Helpful but confusing, no support from developer. The app is helpful though inaccurate when there are any delays (partly due probably to Metro’s inability to notify the app platform). And, at least for trains, the app often gives two different destinations for the same train, sometimes not even oldest arikns on the same line. When the app shows an orange line train with destinations “New Carrollton” and Largo,” there’s a problem. The orange line doesn’t go to both of those places. The help/support option is truly useless. After months of waiting for clarity about the issue and a follow up inquiry, I’ve heard nothing from Dixon Mobility. Certainly based on my new I won’t be paying to upgrade to the premium version of a mediocre app.

Metro Essential. I like the application but I am annoyed with the advertisements, especially the one that suggests an application to clean my phone’s memory. The advertisement pop up when opening the application and delays providing arrival times. I fully understand advertising keeps the application free to use but this distracts from providing useful information.

Not quite as bad as your actual subway system but. Would be nice if your app was accurate. I’ve had multiple occasions where the app says shady grove will be here in five minutes and glenmont in one minute but it’s actually the other way around. Also, when your app is constantly three minutes behind the actual schedule it provides false hope to those of us who want to actually make the train.

Works but adds kill it. What do they post those obnoxious adds that make it impossible to continue without closing and reopening. Seriously and the apps pop up when one most needs to track the bus. They aren’t even in English. Web developers simply take half screen adds I can live with that but these types with mind to close are unacceptable.

Constantly wrong. Multiple times per week the app will show an arrival time for my train only to be WILDLY inaccurate when I get to the station. With the constant inconsistencies in train schedules (silver line looking at you), I have to rely on this app every morning to know what time to leave so I can get to work on time- this is BASIC stuff! And don’t get me started on being inundated with ads when we just want to know when the train is coming, my god!

Annoying. There is like 70% accuracy in this app and that’s only at times. They predict when buses come but only barley. I take the E4 to friendship heights and this bus is the definition of inconsistency. I would also take any of the R buses which also lack consistency. It’s annoying questioning if my bus will even show up on a daily and if I have to change my route because the bus won’t show up on the app. Please do better at tracking your buses in the future.

I feel like I’m in the early 2000s. If I were reviewing this app in 2005, maybe even 2010 I would probably have given it five stars however, in 2024 this is a very outdated application. The interface is clumsy, the colors are outdated, and the functionality is behind the times. I know Metro is dealing with some financial challenges but I hope once those clear, their technology team gets with the times and updates this to a more modern look and functionality.

Kind of useless w/r/t buses. The app appears not to distinguish between buses that are or are not “in service” - so although it tells you how long it will be before the next bus arrives, that bus may or may not actually be in service. This has happened to me a few times, including today. I’m now in an Uber because of it, spending three times more money than I was expecting.

Great app!. This app does just what I need it to do. It tells me how long until the next few trains and which lines they are. I have found it to be very accurate, and it loads up immediately, unlike the WMATA web page. I like that you can try it free with ads. After 3 days of using it, I paid for the ad-free version. Definitely worth the cost for me. Note that I only ride the train, so can’t comment on buses.

Misleading metro information. I am using this app for more than 2 years. A lot of times the schedule it shows is at least a minute behind. I think I missed buses at least 30 times while the app was showing an ETA of 2-3 minutes. This matters significantly to a lot of metro riders especially to those who use both the bus and the train. The free version of the app deserves a rating of 3. I am using a paid/ad-free version, so I expect better than this.

Ads are wrong format - don’t close. As I’ve reported to app support several times now, the formats of some ads have the close button (X) in the upper right hand corner. For most smart phone users, that’s where information for the phone is, so you can’t press the X to close the ad when it’s fine. And often you have to manually close out (which is not possible) even when the full as ends. It’s really frustrating and means I can’t access info in a timely manner. This seems to be a flaw in the upgraded versions too. Please only use those ads that either close automatically or have the close option at the bottom of the page.

Obnoxious full page ads. Ads are beyond reasonable, if selling an ad free version of an app whose purpose is to sell you another service is ever reasonable. There are the normal small ads on the main page that make it slow to load. Then, if you leave it unattended for a minute or so, a full page ad pops up. It includes more stops and I like that it shows you the schedule as well as real time. It's no more accurate than the earlier version and not really worth switching.

Intrusive ads. At some point the app was updated and the ads are much more frequent and intrusive. I see many full screen ads and sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to close them. It’s unfortunate that paying customers have to deal with this, but I also understand the metro is budget constrained. I hope they can switch to small banner ads at least. The constant full page ads make the app a chore to use. I just want to see when the next train is arriving

Almost impossible to use. This app used to be my go-to for accurate DC bus info, but since the implementation of the ads and the constant pop-ups for premium service, it’s become practically unusable. Unfortunately other transit apps don’t always have accurate bus times by stop, which makes it difficult to avoid this. Please someone make a new app that functions better than this, especially now that metrohero is no longer around!

Very user friendly -- love it!. I love this app. I use it for both bus and train schedules. I find the information reliable. I love the "favorites" option; it streamlines my use of the app. I also appreciate how it filters notifications. I find I get very little irrelevant information that way. Lots of effort went into this design and it shows -- thank you!!

Glitchy with Insane Ads. An app for public transportation should not require a subscription to be functional. The ads pop up right as you’re trying to load route times, so if you are on the move, the app becomes completely useless. Even worse, the show routes feature for buses has not worked for me in months. Instead it just shows me a full world map. Awesome if I want to find Namibia, not so much if I want to see where the 74 bus is.

can’t see future times and tomorrow schedule anymore??. i used to rely heavily on seeing times for the busses for the entire day as well as the times for the next day, both of which were available before the recent update. now they’re gone. PLEASE bring them back

DC area metro app. This app is really good, though would be better if my bus route had the correct information. The developers need to re-look at or update wmata’s bus routes. The route I take starting from the Maryland side has the incorrect destination so I can never tell if the bus is on schedule or not. I wish they would fix this cause I think it would be the perfect app to use.

Format Probs. I have only had a problem with the “ghost busses” a couple times thankfully but the main problem is the ads. I get it, you have to have ads if you want the app to remain “free”. It’s annoying especially when you’re in a hurry, but whatever. But oh my god, the little X at the top right corner to exit the ads is so close we can barely click on it. I get irate every time. If they could at least make it to where the ad goes away after a few seconds or at least just move it down and away from the edge of the screen. Because now is not the time I’m wanting or willing to succumb to an ad, let me find my bus.

Bugs!. Fix the bug where the bus disappears off the map! It is so infuriating when you’re trying to time your morning commute, weighing out whether you’re going to sacrifice food, makeup, feeding your pet, or all the above just to be at the stop on time—only to either rush there and wait another 6 minutes when it says arriving in 2, or abandon all hope because the bus has completely disappeared from the queue. Don’t worry though, half the time you can feel like an idiot because it’ll magically REAPPEAR 1 minute before arrival. Every move you make based off this app is a gamble. Just fix it there’s no reason for this. And the UI could be a lot more pleasing to the eye.

Horrible customer service. Disgusted with metro service and workers Woodley Park Station always has very rude workers! Complete joke! Everyone rides for free now and jumps the gate. No metro worker at this station or any station cares. It’s a free for all why not. Homeless people sleeping in cars. Puke and pee all over the place. High and drunk people harassing people. The metro is going to have to eventually shut down. How are they going to pay workers and complete repairs if no one pays fares??? Did the idiots who work there and let people jump the gates every day think of that, Obviously not. Stupidly and unacceptable!!!

TOO MANY ADS. This app is better than Google maps for tracking the local bus. The major issue is that there are far too many ads. I understand that the app needs funding to keep its service running. I expected ads running alongside the content. But these video ads running before I need to make quick decisions about which transit option to take is absolutely ridiculous.

Possible scam in the ads. I use this app regularly without incident, however an ad has started popping up that looks like a real warning that would come from my phone saying I’ve used 93% of my phones memory. Knowing what I replaced my phone for that exact reason, I know it’s not true. But I worry that someone will click on the ad and have disastrous results. BEWARE!

Unreliable.. Awkward interface only adds pain to the unreliable and inaccurate information. The worst part is when there are schedule adjustments (happens frequently here) and the app doesn’t report the change until the adjusted train pulls into the station (especially annoying when WMATA tries to do the right thing by adding trains but the added trains don’t appear in the app) MetroHero is your only option for the DC area.

You want us to pay for this? 😂. It’s astonishing that WMATA is trying to price gouge people for a “premium” subscription for this app when it doesn’t even do obvious things in the first place. For instance, I should be able to get ROUTE-SPECIFIC PUSH NOTIFICATIONS to know when there’s a problem on the Turquoise Line (fictional example). Someone was struck by a train last week. I didn’t find out about it until I ventured down to the Metro station to wait for my train. Why didn’t I know sooner? Because the (lazy? unskilled? underfunded?) app developers don’t provide a way for me set push notifications related to my standard daily commute. Other cities are WAY ahead with their apps. I guess I should just be grateful that this worthless app isn’t acting like a homeless panhandler and hitting me up for cash… oh wait nvm now it is.

Worthless app is often VERY wrong about train times.. DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP TO SEE WHEN THE LAST TRAIN / BUS IS DEPARTING FROM YOUR STOP! The app will frequently tell me that there are several more trains leaving in my desired direction but when I show up at the station there are none. Sometimes I work late and this app is totally useless for telling me whether there’s going to be a train or not. WMATA is unreliable to begin with; I guess we shouldn’t have expected their approach to app development to be any more competent.

Needed, necessary, and helpful. The only time I could ever complain was when the buses were indicted as arriving but they’re been a major accident that snarled traffic and they were nowhere about. The Alerts that normally indicate that problem had nothing to say about that. Otherwise it’s money well spent. Thanks for all the improvements. -Longtime rider

Useless and loaded with ad tracking. This app does not even have the basic functions that you would find on the WMATA website. It has a cursory list of bus and train schedules and a map, but no way to know how soon the next train is coming in real time, which you could easily get from the Metro website or a better app. It is also loaded with ads and third-party trackers. Skip this app and find a better one.

Great App. I use this app daily. It is very helpful when riding the bus and train. The on time information makes getting around town a little easier.

Terrible service. Today it’s November 10 it took more than one hour to get to my job the service it’s terrible The train has to stop for a long time on each station because they don’t have enough personal or they don’t have signal to the control whatever happened is not fair por all the riders And this is not the first time actually

Convenintet. Sometimes the buses are not syncronized with the app they come earlier or later. Also some routes are not updated such as 28a the new part where the bus goes to east falls church is not in the app route. Wish it was fixed

Bus line 52, 53, and 54. There are not enough buses running rush hour morning nor evening. Buses are always standing room. With generally young adults sitting in the senior citizens seating. God knows I pray for everyone because are always over crowded. What happened to the 59 bus. I know you all can do better we have more morning and evening riders.

Miserable due to ad’s. Just make the app completely a paid ad free app. As a tourist trying to use this app you’ve made my trip miserable. Every 2 seconds am ad pops up. To the locals that are irritate with the tourists slowing down boarding and de-boardimg blame WMATA not the tourists. If it could simply look at the map without having to close ad’s every 2 seconds I’d be much more efficient. Shame on you WMATA for making this such a miserable app

Love Metro Rail. Keep up the good work. The new trains are nice and clean. If you can add some level of security, as it used to have in the early years, it would be perfect. Unaccompanied minors still a problem at certain hours.

Could be better. Often buses drop off the radar. Sometimes it’ll indicate a bus is arriving but then one never shows up. Large interstitial ads are intrusive and prevent one from seeing important info. VERY annoying. Timetables not always accurate/up to date.

Terrible!! Don’t get. The app is way to hard to even understand and completely unreliable. If you ever get lost, don’t rely on this app as this app will spam you with tons of ads as you try to find your way. You click a button, ad shows. Go back to the main page, ad shows. It’s impossible and defeats the whole point of the app, “trying to find your way through SmartTrip metro”.

Terrible for buses. This app used to be okay for getting the wait time in metro and buses, but lately it is completely unreliable when it comes to the bus. You’re much better off relying on Google maps than this app, especially for the L2, 42, and 43. Add the annoying ads that block ones ability to see the schedule when in a hurry, and this app is basically worthless.

On time .. but!!!!. Overall very good, however, can be better if the locations can be updated more often or even at more regular intervals.. I.e it appears that the location update is not done about 35% of the time... leaving you to miss buses at times

Latest app update isn’t helpful. Why did the update eliminate the ability to see upcoming trains by station. You can’t select a station anymore by choosing the line, and the way to find a station makes NO sense. When you do find the breadcrumbs and enter the station name nothing happens. Figures a dysfunctional subway system should have a pretty useless and dysfunctional app.

Needs improvement. Doesn’t seem fully accessible to customers using Voiceover. Or maybe it’s just missing some features for everyone. 1. When I click on a metro station, I need to be able to find out which bus routes start, end, & go by that station. 2. I need to be able to enter an address destination & find out which is the metro station & bus route to use for the most efficient trip.

Why does it break every once in a while?. Every once in a while, for a period of a few weeks or a few months, this app will completely break down and show bus times incorrectly. While there is generally some margin of error in any transit app using their own algorithms, these periods are beyond what is acceptable. When the app works, it’s great. The problem is that it does not always do so.

The ads.... The app has an awful glitch, you pull it up to check a time and a full page 15 second ad hogs the whole screen (meanwhile I'm panicking about the schedule and wondering if I need to run or not). I suffer through the ad, and the little "x" button is right next to my iPhone battery icon. So I can't exit the stupid ad. Needs improvement.

Great App, Too Many Ads. I wouldn’t mind the ads except they are full-screen ads and the only way to opt-out is with a “premium plan” which is subscription based and not a flat one-time fee. This app literally just calls WMATA’s public (and free) APIs. Stop the money grab. I’ll write a better web app before I pay for this monthly.

Old Georgia Dawg. If the same people that run the Metro would give Atlanta some tips or better yet run Marta. I would ride Marta more often. MARTA is a joke, The METRO system is an example of how a public transit system should be ran. Thanks for what you do everyday.

can’t see future times and tomorrow schedule anymore??. i used to rely heavily on seeing times for the busses for the entire day as well as the times for the next day, both of which were available before the recent update. now they’re gone. PLEASE bring them back

Great and friendly. Happy to see that the newer versions of this program are really friendly and easy to use. Accuracy of bus and metro schedules have significantly improved. Really happy to use it!

Thankful for dccirculator/app is confusing though. I’m visiting dc and it took me awhile to figure out where to catch the dccirculator bus. The app has been difficult to use to find that information.

Great metro system. My sister and I used the Metro system daily when we stayed for 10 days in the DC area. The system was so easy to use and the stations easy to get around when we needed to transfer.

Rarely works. You have to buy the ad version for it work properly. It used to be you could just select the color line to get the status of the next train. That isn’t the case anymore. Now you have to manually enter the name. It’s ridiculous.

Easy connection.. Was delighted with how easy it was to take the bus to Balston from my street and connect with the metro to my destination. The synchronized connection work coming back home as well. Easy and on time!

No Route Data 2024. I haven’t seen any route, bus stop nor anything in general in the last few months. Either I have to redownload or something is wrong with the app’s connection. I haven’t been able to use it lately. I hope this is a glitch but considering how long I’ve had issue with the data on the buses etc… I don’t see any resolution. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Working late nights on weekdays. When it’s after 11pm the app slows up and it is hard to find out what time the last bus or train is coming.

Is it the app or the bus ‘service’?. This app used to be an essential tool for navigating the Washington DC metro area bus system (WMATA). Now, it’s as unreliable as WMATA itself. My bus line (21D) is an out-and-back service, but the app only shows the northbound route—all day! Some buses on the 21D route don’t show up on the app, but clearly show up at the stop across the street. Is it WMATA’s fault for not transmitting the data in the standard format? Is it the app’s fault for not adapting or working with WMATA? Doesn’t matter—the ads work fine, and that’s clearly all that matters to app developers these days.

Normally reliable but nothing showing now. As of January 31, 2021, for the past few days, the screen has been blank. It says that it’s not getting data from WMATA. However a similar app called Metro Hero is getting that information just fine.

Let us scan on a map. Just looking at route names isn’t helpful if you’re a newbie and have no idea what routes there are or their names. Let us scan a map that has all bus routes. We can then zoom in to what’s in our area, then click on it to identify the route. I know I would use the bus more if finding routes wasn’t so time consuming.

Paid for Ad-free version and this developer has no honor. Please join me in sending an email to every advertiser you see in this app letting them know that you will not support their products because they do business with a developer (Dixon Mobility, LLC) that doesn’t honor its business agreements. A company that doesn’t honor its agreements (paid for no ads) should get no business from companies that do.

Essential for my DC commute. This app is very helpful on my morning and evening commutes. The developers do a good job of maintaining the app as transit networks evolve. I was pleased to see that they have added real-time arrival info for ART and DC Circulator buses.

Buggy, too many ads. Sometimes takes forever to load, too many ads getting in the way, and crashes quite often. Much better to create a Home Screen bookmark directly to the WMATA site. Disappointing experience.

Good info. Riders need the information when on a train so they know about transfers only most of the time there is no signal while on a train. WiFi at a station is not nearly as important as having it while transversing between stations.

Metro and Bus. Thank You for your no lost transportation applications. Thank You for your helpful and educational applications. Please make more No lost, educational and helpful applications. Thank You and God Bless You.

Unreliable. Doesn’t reliably show accurate metrobus data. It says buses are coming or have arrived when they never do, it shows that there aren’t busses coming and then they show up. Sometimes there’s just no information at all, it’s completely blank. The app is useless and makes it next to impossible to travel easily in DC.

Too many ads. It is one thing to have so many ads. However, when ads come up that will only let you “open” and you cannot get to the data you are looking for that is a problem. One needs to be able to close an ad easily since most if the time you are looking for arrival/departure info.

Every action preceded by an ad. Not service focused. This is the app for getting updates on public transportation in and around Washington, DC. This app initiates an ad after neatly every single pave change. It is annoying and can be an issue if you are trying to see if you need to hurry to catch the bus or train. It is taking advantage of usrs who need information and instead drowns the user in ads.

Used to be better. The app used to be better, but the non-stop intrusive and difficult to close ads have rendered it almost useless. The same info can be found on other ad-free apps, including the official one from DC. That alternative is clunky, but at least doesn’t have ads with obfuscated “close” buttons.

Terrible accuracy and experience.. This app has become utterly useless. You can’t click on a bus stop to see arrival times without an ad playing. More than once the app has crashed before the ad finishes - and when I try to check again I have to watch an ad all over again - by which point I’ve missed any bus or train altogether.

Routes inaccurate, covered in ads. Tried downloading this to get more accurate rouse data since google is regularly wrong, and the schedule is unpredictable. However, this app has a lot of its own issues. Routes on the app don’t reflect the actual routes. For example, the 42/43 are showing stops in I street that don’t exist. On top of that, it’s so covered in ads that it’s hard to see information. Pretty terrible experience

Really like the Updates. The words and numbers are larger and easy to read. Only problem I am having is that the Allow button is not working properly on one of my phones. Hope the fix this problem

Don’t Pay for “no” advertising. The app it works as advertised. It helps me get to work on time. However, don’t pay for no advertising. They do not remove the ads from their app. They also have a video ads that pop up which in Peter your ability to use the app.

Very inaccurate. The app in theory should be helpful especially since I use public transportation 90% of the time to get around. However the bus arrival times in the app is always wrong. It is NOT helpful to see that a bus is arriving in 8 minutes when it says at that time (8 minutes) for 5 minutes. Therefore the wait is actually 13 minutes and I'm just wasting my time by planning my commute around an incorrect time, which is way too often.

Important information for everyone. This app is excellent, very easy to use from any place you want to be. The accuracy is just outstanding. Thumbs up

A must have app for every metro rider. Super reliable and easy to use... especially for when the Metro is not. I use this app daily, and it makes my commute so much easier to navigate.

Early Morning Trains Inaccurate. The early morning train times (before 8 AM) have been wrong every time. The app will have you either running for a train that was long gone or taking your time while completely unaware of the fact that your train is arriving now/soon and you are going to miss it.

Really? This is the best you can do?. Awful app. Rife w ads that make it unusable. What’s worse, you try to provide feedback and it just launches google mail. As if that’s the only way to send a message. Please just roll this app back to 2019. No one is goin to pay for this garbage app. And the ads are way too invasive. You’re better off just using a paper map or guessing.

Useful, but stops working late night. Been using this app for many years. Good interface After 8 or 9, often the app won’t get train data that’s available from wmata’s web site

Appreciative traveling Native.. Craig C. Sturdivant. Almost Tech Smart, but the train ride is very comfortable like I always remembered. Upgrading day by day, I pray that all workers continue To be safe and knowledgeable.. Keep up the Outstanding Work…

New ad load is overwhelming. While the ads on this app used to be manageable, some time since the pandemic they’ve taken a new approach and it is terrible. Ads prevent a real-time schedule from loading for several seconds, and some also come with sound, which is extremely intrusive.

Useful but could go further. Love the app and it is very helpful but it would be nice if it had features like being able to access SmartTrip card info, had a trip planner, or had a way to use the live train map in the app. Overall, great app.
