Pop Dot Comic is a fun way to create comic-book style illustrations from your snapshot or ones taken of your friends and family. Pop Dot Comic applies thick outlines, bold colors, and plenty of benday dots to newsprint or pulp papers to give every creation the look of one that’s been printed or published.
In the past, halftones were tediously inked in by cartoon artists or created in darkrooms. With Pop Dot Comic you can easily and quickly convert your photo into a comic book drawing that’s worthy enough for the Sunday newspaper or your favorite pulp-fiction cover. With a library of included “Fun Stuff”, custom messages can be added to speech bubbles and sound effects will give your creation “POW”. When your finished creating a comic book photo save it to your library or post them to your friends and family for funny moments.

Benday Dots — like those used in the traditional printing process. Benday Dots are two (or more) different small, colored dots combined to create a third color. Back in the day, pulp comic books used Benday Dots in primary colors to inexpensively create the secondary colors such as flesh tone.

Crashes big time on my iPhone 5. won't let me edit text ... can't refer back to instructions .. is there and "undo" button? like the possibilities, but unable to complete an image cuz it crashes

Awesome!. This app is great! I love that the effects don't look like a texture screen on top of the image, the quality is great. A lot of options! Hard to say anything bad about this app. Fast, too. I only wish some effects had a 'mix with original' adjustment. But trust me, this app has a lot. Highly recommended!

ANOTHER WINNER FROM JIXIPIX!. Jixipix knocks another one right out of the park! While I recognize that half-tone effects may not be everyone's cup of tea, those who get into them will truly appreciate the breadth and scope of this app. As with all their other apps (and I have them all), the developers have showered PopDot with detail and care, leaving no stone unturned. If I were to change anything about this app, it would be to add user controls for brightness, saturation and contrast, as many of the filters are too bright for my personal liking, and I find myself having to switch to another app to refine those elements after using PopDot. Meanwhile, thank you Jixipix for adding yet another element to my iPhoneography experience! I look forward to the next new app that comes from your brilliant drawing boards!
Very cool!. Very cool app. I one of my faves. But it needs major work. This thing crashes all the time. Come on guys! I paid good money ( compared to other apps) to get this. Lets get the bugs worked out, okay?

Good filter effects with adjustments. This is a very good app for applying effect to photos. Good amount of fonts to use. App crashes a lot when adding text and moving it around. Please fix. Also make it easier to adjust size and rotation of text. Being able to rotate the paper texture would be nice. Just a simple rotation button that cycles through. Keep up the good work.

Fun, easy to use. One of the better photo-to-comics apps. Lots of adjustable features. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes to filter their photos. Multi-cell page formats would be nice. Something like Halftone 2 has. Overall, features better than Halftone 2.
Not the Lichtenstein. The app is fun, creative and easy to use. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because I was going for a Lichtenstein-style transformation and got an Andy Warhol pop art, so the app didn't really work for me.

Fun to Play Around With. This is a fun app to play around with your photos but it doesn't give all of your photos that true comic book color or feel. Some pics turned out really cute but others not so much. I would like to be able to adjust the colors in certain spots like on a face or add lip color. It needs some work but it's close. They need more options. A lot of the ones they have seem too similar. I love the comic book captions & speech bubbles you can add to pics too. Overall, it's a fun app.
What a kick in the pants!. I love using this program along with my other art programs. When I combine something with dots with something else via Blender, there are all kinds of happy results : )
Fun: styles aren't clear.. Easy to use, but needs too much trial & error to explore styles. The style example thumbnails are different images - so the differences aren't as clear as they could be.
Fun & super easy. Many more choices to work with as far as editing then any other app I've tried using Thumbs up 👍
Fun App, Needs Greater Stability. This app is pretty fun, putting a new spin on pictures with some interesting customization features. However, it is very buggy and crashes often, which is prohibitive when using it as you lose all your progress

Fun!. Love running the effects -- slightly unstable, though, and occasionally closes itself. I don't run many of these types of apps, so I'm not sure if it's normal that after choosing the effect, you have to wait quite a bit (probably less than 10 seconds, but it feels long) for it to appear on your image. Seems like a complicated algorithm, so I don't mind.
Best app ever. For a drawer like me I used to draw pop art now I can make comix and stuff it's great... The only complaint is that it's kinda slow with the text resolution but uknow who cares its great I hope u enjoy it

A lot of fun. Great app. Can make awesome videos out of the comics I've created. A bit sensitive and tends to crash a lot. Gets old having to restart every project from scratch. Could use a fix. Other than that I've been able to create some awesome stories. Recommend!

Wasted my money.... Crashes on my iPhone 5. The only access to instruction is when you start it for the first time, after that GOOD LUCK figuring it out. I haven't been able to work on one picture YET!

Takes Me WAY Back - 50 yrs !. Playing with this app is so much fun. It really can do what it says. Only it does it better than the funnies I recall reading 50-55 yrs ago. NOT better than DC Comics, but hey - those were & always will be, perfection itself. I will say, "if you get this app, you'll never need or find, another of it's kind" None even come close to this one.
Needs an update!. The Hi-resolution export doesn't work anymore! All the images become pixelated after export. Great images made ugly because of this.

Love it! Very well done. Very easy to use.. Much better than I’d dared hope and allows me to experiment with themes or an “aesthetic” in the development stage of new projects and stories. Perfect for people who are a bit past the “stickers that say POW!!” Level of sequential art. Need. More. Noir. Be great if you did a Vaporwave version of this? Even as a whole separate app; if you put as much work into the quality and options as this one, it would become popular. Again lots of stuff with wallpapers, or stickers of dolphins and palm trees out there but not a lot of decent generators / filter apps for that genre. There’s a gap in content for people who create their own art and just need help with a vibe or to get out of a rut... solid, reliable filter apps with ability to edit at all stages are very hard to find when not at the photo$hop / illu$trator / iMovie level of creating.
