Minneapolis 311 App Description & Overview

What is minneapolis 311 app? Want to report a pothole, broken streetlight, or parking meter while on the go? The
Minneapolis 311 app makes reporting issues like these easier than ever. The app
uses GPS to identify your location and also allows you to snap a photo to add to your
service request. Reports are automatically sent to the City’s 311 system and routed to
city departments for resolution. You’ll also be able to follow your issue from the time it
is reported until it is resolved.

The mobile app can also be used to report such issues as graffiti, damaged street signs,
and abandoned vehicles.

This app submits data to City of Minneapolis via a third party service, SeeClickFix. The handling
of the data submitted to the City for servicing the issues submitted using this app is covered by
the city's privacy policy which you may read here: http://www.minneapolismn.gov/about/

Minneapolis 311 Comments & Reviews 2026

This app gets results. Our st. Was torn up in the summer for some sort of sewer issue or something. We were left with a hole for several months. I decided it needed to be finished before the snow flies. So I downloaded the app and took out a ticket at 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. It pin pointed my location and let me describe the issue I was able to add a photo too. By 9:30 the next morning a crew was out filling in the hole. Nice response time MPLS!

Needs work. Making reports works well enough, but the map view is clunky and difficult to use: It doesn't show all issues in the area being displayed, and you have to manually reload more issue points when you move the map, but it won't let you do that if you only move the map a little bit. The voting system and issue following have bugs. On some screens there's a weird transition bug where you can see the fields as static and then they spin and fade... something's not happening in the right order there. Overall, it mostly gets the job done, but it could use a lot of cleaning up.

Nice design update!. I really like the new look Of the app.

Needs work. App used to work fine now I get a connection error message when trying to submit issues - have to delete and reinstall app all the time to resolve it.

Finally. Can't wait to use this app, all the tire popping pot holes will be reported every time I hit one 📢.

Great app!. I'm so glad they came out with this--it's always a hassle trying to figure out who needs to know what, and trying to describe a location when I've got the gps coordinates seems like a waste of time.

Won't let me submit a report. I've been trying for weeks to submit an issue but I keep getting a connection issue error. Even when connected to wifi.

Waste of time. Don’t bother downloading the app - any email you get as a follow up will link back to the website anyway and there’s no way to navigate through the app without those links

Potential not realized. Does not default current time current date or current location. Too many buttons to click through for a easy quick report. if the developers would add these convenience features, this would be a better app.

Why bother. Haven't been able to create one response to the city.

Completely useless. Good for absolutely nothing. App is trash pretty much impossible to get or report any information or issues. Pretty much what I expect from this city.

Pretty good app.. I like the new app, but I don't like how it's managed. When you complain about something it should be resolved. You shouldn't be pointed to a different department, only to get pointed to a different department, and then a different department. Whoever gets the first call should be able to resolve the issue. This is after all a complaint and suggestions line.

Great app!!. Excellent idea! Much easier to quickly report graffiti, etc, thus keeping Thr neighborhood more clean!

Good response time by Mpls. Surprisingly quick response time by the city involving an icy alley way. Good way to connect with the city.

Don't waste your time with this app!. I have a iPhone 6 plus and the app won't let me create a account, even after a recent update. Fix that.

Keep on MPLS. 💗. Running a city requires community involvement. This tool helps the citizens contribute

95% useful. Very useful app for getting information about city services and giving feedback about things we see that need to be addressed (street lights, graffiti and potholes.) drawbacks- it crashes in the cold weather, and issues that are resolved don't get posted as such.

Doesn’t work???. It seems like the first tab “places” links you to different things like “city web” and “street sweep” etc, so why when I click any of them they don’t work????? Nothing happens. The rest of the stuff, like “notices” works.

Connection problems. Often this app won’t submit reports, saying there is no connection. I have Cellular Data enabled and my home wireless network is working fine in other apps. Very annoying.

Great Idea, Needs Improvements. Transparency, accessibility, and communication—these are all qualities of a responsive and accountable government that could become a reality with an improved version of this app. I for one volunteer to be part of a focus group to give feedback. Fixing the GPS, report questionnaire, connectivity for report submissions, and follow up from representatives could make this app a best practice worthy of replication in other cities.

One of my favorite apps. What a great idea! Works well too.

Outdated, imprecise map, doesn't always work. The Minneapolis 311 is a nice attempt by the city to provide mobile assistance line but it has quite a few flaws. Some of them are: -it doesn't always work; the mapping function is too finicky so if the exact address can't be determined through a map, the request for service can't be submitted -by signing up for this up one automatically gets bombarded by spam emails from the creator of the map -there are no updates on requests; some are 3-4 years old without ant status update -finally if the city really cared many requests would be handled and users would be notified Overal, from concerned citizen's point if view thus just an excercise in futility.

Can’t close issue. I keep getting emails on a grass not mowed issue, it’s winter now, but I can’t close the issue!!!

Great app!!!. I love that the city cares enough to actually make it easier to report and resolve issues. No more graffiti in my neighborhood! Everything I've reported has been resolved within 2 weeks, and usually a lot quicker than that. Can't say enough good things about the app! One annoying thing about the city is the distinction between city land and park land. For example If you use this app to report graffiti in a park it will be closed and won't be cleaned up. You need to email the park board to actually get that resolved. Wish they could do that for you!!

Potential not realized. Clearly some groups of Mpls staff got tired of citizens actually speaking -- they removed many of the most useful reporting options, leaving pretty much nothing but graffiti and potholes. The rest of the "app" is pretty much just bookmarks to a barebones web browser.

Just ok. I like the convenience of the app but all aspects of it don't work. I've been trying to register my bicycle for the last few days and it won't load.

No iPhone 5 support. The app is great, it would be nice to have support for the larger screen on the iPhone 5.

Just use the SeeClickFix app. This Minneapolis 311 app is just a flawed front end to the real app. With SeeClickFix, registration was easy and I logged my first report this morning with no issues.. and the patrol came and took care of the issue quick! SeeClickFix has been flawless thus far.

This app rocks!!. So amazing to be able to report issues to the city wherever you are!!!

Very nice to see a city reach out! Great app. Works great!

Impossible to Delete Account. The app is basic, making anything you're reporting a chore. Couple that with a lazy, uninterested city and you've got yourself a near worthless app. Worse part: there is no way to delete your account. The company behind this app only “deactivates” and explicitly details on their website that they will “continue to make publicly available all user-provided content indefinitely to their partners and third parties.” So there’s that for you. Thanks Minneapolis for keep an eye on citizens once again.

Loser. This app will not load. Do you expect users to have wifi at all times? If so, make it free to all within city limits. Frustrating.

Needs work. The app itself is fine, but the city isn’t always responsive. I understand they’re overwhelmed with winter parking/snow emergency reports right now, but it seems like they ignore many critical safety violations people report, at least in my neighborhood. Almost makes reporting feel pointless because the issues will often go unresolved.

Great tool for the citizens to engage city services. This is an excellent tool. The design is simple and mostly intuitive to operate. It actually gets a response from the city which really makes it meaningful. The best part is the automatic linkage of photographic documentation with the issue. What I find surprising is that I have encountered at least one City of Minneapolis inspector who writes up nuisance orders but does no documentation, written or photographic. City regulatory personnel need to have this kind of tool for their work so that their orders are accurate and documented. Starting using this tool and track the progress of making your neighborhood more liveable.

Nice little tool. I like that this ap helps me quickly and easily report an issue within my city. But, I LOVE that it gives me a sense of community and makes me feel like my neighbors care as much about the area we live in as I do. I wish I could report some issues anonymously without having to log in.

I. Can't. Even. Register.. I have no idea if this is a good app or not, because it won't let me register. I complete information & it just goes right back to the registration screen.

Love it!. This makes reporting neighborhood nuisance issues so much easier. Nice to know that the city is connecting with citizens the way they are most comfortable with.

Oy reason I use it.... Is to make sure someone didn't snap a picture of my house or my sidewalk!

Great app!. Very cool app for getting things fixed around the City of Minneapolis.

WORST APP EVER. They literally don’t do ANYTHING about any mess, disruptions or anything that should be handled by the city. Have absolutely no idea why they would have an app to do nothing about anything. You can report whatever you want but nothing will happen. They say it’s been “noted as a claim” then will just be taken off in a week. POINTLESS APP.

Love this app. So useful especially the location feature

Power to improve your city. Get potholes film, graffiti removed, problem properties dealt with, pay your water bill and more! Remedies often come within 24 hours.

Makes civic engagement more accessible. Thanks Minneapolis for this app. Given the choice between quality and access, people want access first.

Perfection. And that's one of the many reasons why I love this city!

Needs Work for iPad. There is no Landscape mode and the screen does not shift orientation as the iPad is turned from Portrait to Landscape. In Landscape the print size is larger and would be more readable on an iPhone.

Buggy, unsecured and poor app. Really bad app. So much wrong with it that it is hard to know where to begin. Slow. Clunky. Shares too much information.

No longer works. This app doesn’t seem to be supported anymore? I can’t perform any action. I can’t sign in, I can’t register, when I go to report an issue it will say “cannot load categories”. Unfortunate as it seems like it used to be a very helpful app.

Very Useful. I find this app to be very useful, as I can report issues such as graffiti with the tap of a few buttons, instead of having to wait for 30 mins for someone downtown to pick up the phone

Kudos Minneapolis. This is a great tool to have. Thank you Minneapolis for helping your residents make this an even greater city to live in!

Awesome app. Why doesn't my city have this?

I love you Mpls. And now I will keep you tidy.

Buggy app. Great idea, but needs to be debugged so reports/requests can be submitted on a consistent basis. As it currently stands it's hit or miss as to if a report actually submits.

Great tool!. I use it frequently

Good stuff. Works great, love this app

No video. Offers to send video. Doesn't send video.

Does not Submit issues on the iPhone 7.. 0 Stars. Does not Submit issues on the iPhone 7. Waste of time

Wilfare. Sweet! Now I can vent my anger about the Viking stadium ripoff directly to the City.

Sweet. Way to give back

Good in theory. But the app doesn’t work at all

A great idea!. !!!

Error submitting report. Reports won't submit and receives error. Then saves as a blank draft. Pretty useless.

Cumbersome. Not a fluid app. Needs to be updated. Half the features don't work.

Great app. Way to go Minneapolis!
