- Perfect during bad weather

This is Minneapolis. It snows. It rains. It gets very cold. Who wants to walk down to the street-side payment machine (if you can find it) and stand in the rain or snow or cold while navigating a menu with your gloves on? Or, worse yet, wait until the person in front of you at the payment machine figures out how to use it? This easy-to-use app lets me just pull into a parking space, stay in my warm & dry car, bring up the app, enter the space number and length of time I want to park there, and start it. What could be easier? And if I run over the scheduled time period, it texts me a warning and I can extend the period right from the app - wherever I am. No need to go back to the car. If I forgot where I parked, it even shows me on a map! If a 25 cent transaction fee scares you away, don’t bother with the app. But it’s a trivial charge to save time and stay warm and dry for me.

- Great App

I love this app. It works perfectly. I had to laugh at the reviewer who gave it one star because he couldn't remember his own password. I would give the reviewer one star, but I wouldn't blame the app. Then there was the reviewer who complained because there is a $0.25 charge per transaction. If it's too expensive, don't use it, but that doesn't make it a bad app. This app provides a service you cannot get by paying at the meter. You do not need to return to the meter to add more time. Very nice if you've gone to dinner and underestimated how long it would take. Just add 15 or 30 minutes with a few clicks while seated at dinner. Tell me that isn't worth $0.25.

- Useful, however.... TERRIBLE BATTERY PERFORMANCE

I used this app recently and it is improved user experience from previous versions, however after I paid for my parking spot, I noticed my phone battery was drastically dying! Like losing 5% per minute (not great when you’re out, already low battery, and need your phone)... I know it is this app’s fault because I first closed all my other apps and saw no change. Once I closed the mpls parking app from running in background though, suddenly my phone was back to holding a charge like normal. LAME... now I can’t see the countdown or extend time because I’m at 5% battery life and not risking it! I hope the developers see this and can figure out how to stop the app from using so much battery! Clearly something is constantly refreshing or something... The product team needs a better QA team to catch stuff like this, so the users don’t lose battery due to app performance.

- Works when meter machines do not

I can’t think of a reason to use this app other than staying out of pouring rain or being confronted with a parking meter pay box that refuses to work. I arrived 30 minutes early for my clinic appointment, parked in a metered spot, and found that the pay box did not work. I watched two other customers have the same problem I did. Remembering that I could pay at any box, I tried again around the block. And again at a third, fourth, and fifth pay box. All failed in exactly the same way. I called 311, as suggested on the outside of the box. On hold with 8 people ahead of me. I gave my report, including the pay box number, and was told I could download this app to pay. By this time, I was late for my appointment, and had to walk a couple of blocks back to my car before I could continue registration. Having done so, I got to experience the joy of paying extra to feed a meter that refused both my credit card and my coins.

- This app has come a long way!

I’m amazed by how much you guys continue to update this app. Today it’s very efficient and super easy/fast to use. Tons of payment options which is very convenient (especially when you’re in a rush and don’t have time to pull out a card and manually enter all the numbers). What’s also nice is you get a timed warning before it expires. So while you’re still at dinner or at a meeting that’s running over time, you can simply extend the parking time rather than running out to the meter in person. One thing that would be a nice addition is to have an option to view pricing. Also maybe a notification or start up display for holidays/days where parking is free. Continue the good work!

- Mostly great

This app is a huge convenience for anyone who parks in mpls pay zones, but has a few bugs that have existed for a little too long. I’ve seen the first mentioned in other reviews - once every few days the app will crash and sign me out, which is not a huge deal, but will also forget all of my saved cars, payment information and favorited parking zones. The only fix I have found is a hard reset of the device. The app also shows every parking zone at the same location on the map (somewhere around Washington and 3rd downtown), meaning that the “Find My Car” option always leads the user to that location. For me not a problem, but for a first time user this could be intensely frustrating.

- Oy

The prior version of this app was wonderful. It was really intuitive and functional. The new version is a disaster. No. It aspires to be a disaster. I can’t get it to ID the parking spot number that starts the process. I’ve deleted the app and reloaded it, spent time on help, prayed to the parking gods and nothing happened. Don’t try to change your default vehicle. That’s expressly forbidden by the app. I’m now back to parking, finding change and fuming at the developers that couldn’t leave well enough alone, test what they did or provide just a little support for us worthless users. But, the icing on the cake is that this is the only app that the city offers. Yay Minneapolis. Yay developers. Please give me a human to help me with this. I promise not to yell no matter how much I want to.

- Very stable now

Latest version is stable - great job on the latest improvements. I haven’t seen any of the sign out issues from previous versions. I’m giving it 4 stars for the utility it provides, mainly the timer and the ability to add time remotely. Still not a fan of getting 3 separate emails from them every time I park, and the transaction fees feel exorbitant when you just need to stop somewhere for 15 minutes. Using the app is not that much faster than paying a meter, unless there’s a line at the meter.

- Never fumble at a meter station again

Essential app if you park a car in Minneapolis. Type in the meter number from inside your car, avoiding that dismal experience when you're stuck behind someone who can't operate the meter station. Get warnings when your meter is about to expire, extend time on the same meter. Well worth the 25¢ per use fee.

- Works well when it works

The app works well when it works. That said, the new version has one of the best examples of how not to design a user interface I’ve seen in a while. Options that force more decisions than are necessary, excessive prompting, and functions that invariably have issues if the server response is not *just* right. Also, your parking history and expiration notifications may or may not work (hint, local timer/alerts guys, not server push).

- Server down can’t log in

Don’t count on the app to work. Nothing worse than finding parking during the snow emergency rules, only to have an app that doesn’t work. NOTE: If you are unable to log into the app, try from the web browser on your phone. Click the help button and you’ll eventually get there.

- Parking downtown

I love having the option to fill my meter via phone, rather than running outside to put more money in. I also like seeing a real time counter of how much time I have left. Very awesome app! I also live in Minneapolis and am a frequent meter parker, so this app is very necessary for a city person like me.

- No Response from Support/Pymt Methods failing

I have loved this app. Used it for three years. No problems. As of Aug 15th my saved payment method don’t default in. I add in PayPal. Next day I can’t use PayPal. Only way I can pay is to delete the payment method so it can be added at the time I am parking. Very annoying! I send in a support ticket in Aug 16th. Heard nothing. No updates are available. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing. Tired of the app. Whatever was added in the latest release needs to be fixed ASAP. It’s now been a half of a month. No fix. TERRIBLE!!! Can I give a negative rating?

- Don't forget your password

It works great until you forget your password. If so, you are up the creek. I've tried everything and can't get help from the vendor at all. I can't register with a different mail account because it only allows one account per phone number. The app has some serious bugs that need to be resolved for forgot password function by text using the mobile phone number and the reset by email function. I've emailed their support address and I guess my message goes into a black zen desk hole. Customer service is an F.

- Make locations findable

The app is decent. The new release is better than the old one. But you need to do ONE THING, and one thing only. Catalog the parking spots and make them findable in the app for when I get to my desk and have forgotten what spot I parked in but know it was the second one from the intersection on the east side of the street. PLEASE. Also give me the ability to find open parking spaces using the app.

- Trouble Adding Payment Methods

I generally enjoy using this app but for the last 2 months or so it has become unusable for me. It prompts me to add a payment method even though I have 3 payment methods already stored. If I do try to add another method, it only allows me to add the types I don’t already have in use. They aren’t in use bc I don’t use them (Visa Pass and Master Pass). Bc I can’t pay via the app, I can’t use the app, which makes it unusable.

- No more running out to plug the meter!

This app rocks my world. No more quarters, no more searching for the pay station, and no more running to plug the meter. This app reminds you when your time is almost up; you can add time remotely. It even helps you find your car at the end of the night. Love!

- Really great app

There are a lot of typical junk reviews below. My experience couldn't be better: rolled up, entered parking spot number, entered how long I wanted to park and that was it. App sent a few useful reminders as my session was about to expire. Happy to pay the trivial fee if $0.25 for how easy this was.

- Convenient but Unforgiving

While it’s much more convenient to use this app, it also encourages expensive mistakes. If you entered the wrong space number or selected the wrong vehicle, there is no way to correct your session. You just have to pay again. That can be pretty expensive when you’re parking downtown. And as far as I can tell, there is no way to request a refund.

- Easy to set up, difficult to remove

Downloading and setting up my account in order to use was pretty straightforward. However, when I attempted to remove my payment method since I only needed to use it while visiting over the weekend I found there is no way to remove a credit card. There is also no way to remove a vehicle if there is only one vehicle added. This is poor ux in my opinion.

- Trouble adding credit card for payment

Great app, but occasionally credit card info disappears and there is no option to re-add that card without using Apple Pay, Visa Checkout, Masterpass or similar platforms. A big pain - please fix so simple credit / debit card addition is always an option!

- It works!

There’s very little else that I care of in a parking app beyond two simple things that this app does well: first, it needs to work. Secondly, it Hass to work easily and intuitively so that I can figure it out on my own when I’m in a hurry. Well done Minneapolis parking app!

- Mpls park app

Most of the time the app works well. There are times such as this morning , that it stalled when I entered the number of the parking space- and was quite frustrating and consequently made me late to work. I wish it would be more dependable.

- Parking App

This parking app is super convenient! It’s especially convenient in the winter when no one really wants to spend any more time outside than needed. Just saves you the inconvenience of having to find the pay machine. Just super convenient nice have.

- Enter your cc info, Apple Pay doesn’t work

Very convenient, although I was lead to believe in my app that Apple Pay would work for parking but it did not. Therefore, I ended up spending a great deal of time entering my cc info once parked in a spot.

- Is not optimized for customer service ease.

I’m often frustrated with this app because it makes it unnecessarily difficult. I just went to a game with my brother, offered to pay for parking and paid $24. Then realized I typed his license in wrong. The solution? Pay $24 again with the correct license plate number. Support was no help, even on the phone. If I had paid at the machine on the street the license number would have been irrelevant.

- Excellent app. Need options

The app works great! However, I wish that there’s an option to change the license plate after you paid for parking. Sometimes, I forgot to change to the correct license plate before paying, and I ended up pay for one parking spot twice.

- Map location

I am currently working downtown new construction. All the meters around me are 4 hr or 2 hr max. I thought I would download the app so I don’t have to leave to put $ in the meter? But when I enter the space number it pops up on the map as a different location than where I am parked ??

- Map never displays correct location.

This worked great the first time I used the app, but stopped working recently. When I enter my parking number, the location shown on the map doesn’t match where my car is parked. I haven’t used it since this started happening because I’m worried i will get a ticket. I am not sure if it’s good enough to trust the number I entered, or if the app is paying for the (random?) location shown on the map.

- Error message

The app worked great... the first time. Ever since it gives me the error message “Check Network Connection. We cannot connect to the network.” I have tried resetting it, resetting my phone, hard resetting my phone, uninstall and reinstall, nothing changes the message. Then my friends sitting next to me open and and use theirs flawlessly. I’m sure it works great but not for me.

- Saved me so much!

I work in a hospital and some nights you just can’t leave on time. I used to get a pile of tickets within a few months. Now I can just add extra time to my parking while I’m still working!

- Great parking, easy app

I may have been very fortunate, but I have always been fortunate to be able to park very close to my destination. The app makes it so easy to pay for the parking. I truly highly recommend this app.

- Easy to use

This application is easy to use. However, when I used the “find my car “feature it led me to the wrong location.

- Paid to park and still got a ticket

I paid to park for a doctors appointment and still came out to a ticket. I’m out the $2 I paid and over $40 for a ticket. Now the only way to contest the ticket is to go wait downtown. Very unhappy with this app! Will not assist you at all if you get a ticket during a paid session. I have a screenshot showing I still had time left and the ticket time and they still wouldn’t help me. Deleting now!

- Cannot change default payment method

I added a new credit card number , deleted an old credit card number that was the default payment method. Now ApplePay is listed as the default and I cannot change the default to the new credit card number. I called for Help, the person did not know how to change the default payment method. Frustrating and silly.

- Parking works

Glad Minneapolis choose these folks to work with. App is simple and flexible. Other apps have had me searching for the pay stand they are so difficult to use.

- Great app for Minneapolis

Super easy to set up. Very quick to pay the meter. Plus it gives notification when the meter will expire! Thank you City of Minneapolis for creating this app! 💥

- Too cold

It’s freezing outside, I was trying to go to Warby Parker and I had to set up the app, create an account, enter car information and enter payment infor. I just want to park and run in! I can’t feel my fingers. Can’t you have a meter that can both except above for longer stays and drop in a couple of quarters for quick trips? Think about it for cold MN winters.

- Convenient but lousy map locations

I used this today and though it was super easy to pay to extend my parking time, the map was so inaccurate. I parked in the St. Anthony Main area but the map said my meter was on the other side of the river. I had to just hope I didn’t get ticketed. If you fix the mapping location of your meters, this would be a great app!

- Slow and unresponsive but works

Just set the app up and, boy howdy! Is it slow. Slow to refresh. Slow to respond. It took over 20 minutes to try and re-up my parking meter. Ended up doing it online and not from the app. Hopefully, this is due to it being freshly installed. Also, hopefully I don’t have a parking ticket on my windshield.

- Super convenient

Being an infrequent visitor to Mpls, I hate fumbling through paying the parking meters, this app makes it SUPER convenient and easy to park. I especially appreciate the reminder to feed the meter.

- Alarms are gone?!?

Hey this new update seems to have killed or removed the audible alarms! Why?? Can you not simply use the phone’s alarms? 95% of the time there is NOTHING audible! Crap. Awful way to support your users. Also I find the new interface less intuitive than the old one. The time options are placed close to the bottom of the screen (ie: where your thumb is) but they are way too small.

- Zero help recovering password

This app has ZERO technical support. My wife set my password and of course couldn’t remember which one she used. After numerous attempts to login I got locked out. Reset password email never shows up, never get any response from emailing customer service, can’t even start over and register with a different email because it recognizes my phone number. Complete garbage.

- Great when it works

This is great app when it works , very frustrating when it fails - which of 60% of the time. It keeps asking me to put a different payment method although I did have several options . I had to Dewey all payment methods and add again

- Obnoxiously overcomplicated

Paying for parking should be as simple as entering the spot number and using Apple Pay. 10 seconds. Instead, this app forces you to create an account, has complex password requirements, you have to enter your vehicle information, you have to manually enter your payment information, etc. It’s like they’re trying to make it as cumbersome as possible.

- App challenges

Multiple challenges with this app. Times out delayed processing of transaction. Had to restart app multiple times.

- Still got a $45 ticket

I parked downtown and the app would only let me pay till 5:59pm saying it was the max time allowed, which was 47 minutes, in a two hour spot. Assuming I was good I went to a friends for dinner and left at 9:15pm finding a $45 ticket on my car window. Come to find out the end paid parking time in that spot was 10pm. Will never use this piece of junk app again.

- Frustrating

Used to be a great app but I canNOT get it to function smoothly any longer. EVERY single time i try to start a parking session, it says to add a payment method even though I have at least 3 payment methods loaded. Therefore, I cannot move on to the next screen to start the session. Very glitchy and unresponsive. A frustrating experience but no alternatives at the time 🙄

- Terrible app, no customer service

I tried using the app almost 2 weeks ago. I get an error message “InvalidCastException”. I contact customer svc, they send an email saying they would get back to me ASAP. I never heard back. 5 days ago I contacted them again, still no response. I’ve rebooted and also deleted the app and reinstalled. Nothing. No help. Unusable app for me, yet I need to park in Mpls. Frustrating!!!

- App needs a fix

This app dose not allow to add more than two credit cards and will not allow me to change credit card info. So I had to start over after canceling the two cards that were linked

- Appears to work

Had to update the meter during intermission, so I’ll revise my review if I find a ticket, but is streamlined and easy to set up!

- Incurs charges too easily

I was trying to figure out parking rates in a particular area before traveling there. I ended up being charged for 24-hour worth parking without an adequate explanation or confirmation from the app. I have contacted customer service for a refund twice and have gotten nothing more than auto-generated emails promising quick responses. Terrible user experience!

- Don't update!!

The update is super slow and buggy and destroyed my account. Prior to version 7 I could very quickly pay for parking and be done. Now not only does every step take 10-20 seconds, but the app no longer has any of my saved information and wants me to create a new account. Awful behavior from an app I otherwise trusted. Wish I hadn't updated.

- Overall a pretty terrible app

Application is too busy—too much on each screen at a time Application uses too many steps to complete a task (reserve a parking spot) Application is ugly, ESPECIALLY the thumbnail (looks like a 5yo made it in Microsoft paint) Application doesn’t accept Apple Pay LOL I’m pretty sure 7-Eleven accepts Apple Pay Take a hint from Bird and Lime; activation for a scooter takes around 3 seconds to complete Overall, the app is barely faster than actually using the pay station, and the only benefit is that you don’t have to walk across the street to the pay station but you look like an idiot standing there trying to figure out the app anyway

- Does what it needs to...

The interface has gotten less clear as buttons have disappeared into the background. That said it does get your meter paid from the comfort of your car and in mid-winter that is a very good thing.

- Doesn’t work if you can’t pay

This app used to work amazingly and made parking a breeze. But then it started occasionally deleting the credit card from payment options. Then stopped letting you add a payment option at all. It has been like this for 6+ months on multiple phones. Please fix it.

- Ap review

Could be better functioning...not always responsive as I have to try a few times, sometimes requesting info already in my account. Love it when it works. Aggravating when it does not.

- When it works, it’s great

This app makes parking easy! At least if you’re in Minneapolis. Changing payment methods doesn’t seem to work, though, except by reordering them in settings.

- Horrible.

This app is horrible. I’ve used it three times and each time it says my space is across town, even though I’ve typed it correctly. Gives me zero confidence that I won’t get ticketed even though I’ve paid for that spot. Also can’t get ahold of anyone... I would rather freeze and walk to pay than use this app.

- Terrible never works!

Since they have added master pass this app never works. It also verifies me every time I log in. I was under the impression that it was going to be easier. I used to love this app as I could pay from any location in 1 min but now it takes 5min that is if it works. I wish I would never have done the update.

- Take the hassle out of parking!

Love using this app - no hunting for change, waiting for the newbies to figure out the pay box!

- So slick.

The app always fires up quickly. Intuitive, easy to work. Every city in America should be using this app.

- Parking made unnecessarily frustrating.

Do you want to get charged a 25 cent transaction fee for every parking session you create? Well then this is the app for you! Do you love receiving 10 redundant emails for one simple parking session? Great! Then this is the app for you. Who thought it could be possible to make an app intended for convenience to be so awful. Great job Minneapolis!

- No Apple Pay

I switched from this app to the full ParkMobile app to get Apple Pay support, only to be told that "this zone does not support Apple Pay." Why not? What is the timeline for getting with the program and correcting this embarrassing omission?

- Completely broken

Only works for “zones” not parking “spots” and who knows what that even means. It always says I’m parking on the other side of town. The interface barely works and it keeps trying to force me into using MasterCard for some reason. App is completely broken, just use the machine 10 feet from your car.

- Information

I really feel like too much information is being gather, and it doesn’t work well for different use cases. Sign In with Apple and Apple Pay should be options. If I wasn’t in a bind this morning I wouldn’t have used it, deleting account and app the moment I leave this building.

- Very Convenient!

Easy to use, safe to use from inside your car and no elements to deal with at a curbside machine.

- Great App!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set this Minneapolis parking app up. I was set up and ready to go in five minutes. Good job!

- You need to support ApplePay as a payment option

Please consider supporting Apple Pay as a payment option within the app.

- Still get tickets when I pay through the app

Parking enforcement doesn’t always double check to see if a spot has been paid for before handing out tickets. Hassle to clean that up. Also the menus are confusing and no good way of checking your history. Buggy.

- Re-enter info at every update

Convenient when you haven’t recently updated app. Something from profile, vehicle, or payment method has to be reentered upon updates.

- Better now

You’ve gotten better with this app. Show them post numbers on the map and you’ll have my heart.

- Update is HORRIBLE

I wish there was an alternative app. The update has doubled the amount of time it takes to buy parking by adding redundant and, if I may say, stupid extra steps. Like asking what city you’re in - immediately after slowly displaying a map of wha city you’re in. Cumbersome, annoying, slow.

- App will not let you update vehicle info

App will not let you update vehicle info

- Update caused issues

This app is great and I’ve used it a lot but recently it: 1. Asks me to login every time 2. Doesn’t let me use my stored cards anymore If it starts acting better I’ll update my review but recently been having a lot of issues.

- Payment method

Why is it so hard to change default card?

- Mpls Parking

The app is great and convenient but you should not have to pay another $.25 when you extend your time! Maybe that’s the city of Mpls but once you’ve paid that should be it.

- Crashes

The wasn’t bad up until a few months ago when it started crashing. I haven’t been able to log in or use the app in months due to this issue. I type in login info and tap “sign in” and it crashes.

- Horrible After Update

This used to be a simple and fast app to use. Ever since the interface was updated its been clunky, slow, and many times won’t even work. I work in sales in the city and park in about 10 different spots a day and spend over $200 a month in fees. FIX THIS OR DON’T CHARGE ME AN EXTRA 25 CENTS TO USE IT EVERY TIME I PARK!!!!

- Easy to use !

It’s great ! But being my first time I didn’t realize you need the license plate #

- So easy

Never had a problem. Thanks

- Consistently doesn’t work!

The map is messed up- I try to park near University SE and it brings up a spot downtown. Even though the map shows my correct location before I enter a space number. So out of spite I go park in a lot and pay more money so I don’t have to give my money to MPLS parking. 🤷‍♀️

- No Apple swatch Version

Downloaded iPhone app, but thought there was an Apple Watch version like the PayByPhone parking App. Please create a version for Apple Watch. Thanks!

- Beware

Be sure to read the parking limit on the sign of your parking space. The app will let you pay for as long as you want but if your over the max time of the spot you’ll get a ticket.

- Too many steps

St. Paul has a better login system for users. This is my first time trying to use the mobile parking system and it took me a bit of time. Needs to be more user friendly.

- Super annoying app

I know I’ve used this before but not in a while. It forced me to put in about 7 minutes of detail it already had - no easy way to assign a vehicle once I started the process. All in all it was frustrating to use

- Harder than it should be

I had already entered a default car and payment method, all i wanted to do was park the car. But the app wouldn’t work until I re-entered both. It really should be much easier.

- Needs work.

One thinks that if you type in a space number then enter payment information your space number and time frame allotted would be saved and changed. Think again.

- They took my $35

Accidentally clicked on "Maximum Time" for the parking slot and learned the hard way that this money is non refundable. Their communication is terrible; I couldn't get ahold of a representative (as well as sending Customer Service 2 emails) in Minneapolis unless I wanted to pay an extra $5 on the toll-free number.

- Great overall, need ability to cancel

This is a great service, but we need the ability to cancel reservations.

- Double Charged my Account

Me and my gf both paid for the same spot from different phones. They was no free parking and she felt unsafe so I paid for her parking. They double charged my account for a parking space and refuse to give me a refund.

- Support

It’s incredibly challenging to get support from the owners. Email requests are not supported, there is no phone number to call, only a support ticket system. I’ve had a ticket open for a couple days and still no response or acknowledgement.

- App update is horrible

The new update is super buggy. I had to reset password, it didn’t recognize my default car despite being stored it was a cluster Then the actual selection of duration is clunky. Better before. Good luck I’m sure you can fix. Thanks!

- Doesn’t work where I park

I’ve had this app for two weeks and it has never worked for the area I need to park. Other businesses in the area say their customers have said the same thing. So, for me it is useless. Very disappointing.

- Why License Plate Needed

Better plan ahead for this app. Don’t know why plate needed since other info at hand. How many people know theirs. Needed to extend time but unable to. Probably will have ticket waiting. Thanks for nothing

- Can’t pay

App works well most of the time. But sometimes it won’t allow me to chose my payment methods, then I can’t use it

- Functional but needs UX work

This could be more intuitive but overall let’s you pay remotely so i’ll take it!

- UPDATE BLOWS!

After update, we lost the ability to ‘renew’ time in same spot-a feature very convenient to those who do not have free parking downtown and have to continue to use metered parking for full work day.

- Performance is horrible

After sitting here for more than 10 minutes trying to get this app to work, I need to walk back out and pay at the station. This app used to be great, frankly...but now it simply doesn’t perform its job.

- App needs a fix

You shouldn’t need to re-log back in with password when the app updates.
