Only works a few times. This app works well but it only let me use it a few times. Then it gives me an error message: You are not authorized to use this service. Please contact your service provider. This seems to be a scam to have people pay for the app and it stops working after a while.

Don't purchase!. The $2.99 version is not worth the money. Most of the conversation did not dictate as advertised. I would like a refund on this product.

Good But . . .. I would like to give this app 5 stars but the one glaring problem is that the record button is awkward to push. I keep having to touch where the mic icon was & nothing would happen. Once it finally started to record, the same problem happened trying to stop the recording. Fix that & I will be truly happy.

Works fine on my iPhone. I have recently started using it on my iPhone 5, and it has been much better than the built-in Siri voice-to-text program. Sometimes Siri just doesn't want to work and that drives me crazy. So far, this is much more reliable.

Works great !. Excellent transcription. Love the feature of being able to add on and edit on the fly. Haven't found anything better !

I hate to type!. I love this app. It has saved me so many times because I'm a procrastinator! I just speak my thoughts and they are saved. You don't have to worry about losing your work, it is stored even if you close the app. I like to write out all my papers first and then type them which is time consuming. But, now with the help of this app, I just read my paper to it and Bam, there it is typed! I, then, email it to myself and make a few corrections as I re-read it. For those of us that type like ten words a minute, this is a must have app! I highly recommend it.

Rip-off. This is a complete ripoff. After I bought this app and used it for 30 minutes and crashed and stopped working and it gives me a banner that said you are not authorized to use this service. It keeps repeating this message over and over and over again and i stopped being able to use it.

VoiceNotes.... I have been looking for a more usable app for voice recording and this app did not disappoint. It is the most accurate thus far, and if it improves itself with usage it will be a real winner. Would like to see Hebrew and Yiddish additions.

So much potential. I enjoyed this app for a while and then I don't know when but they had an update come out and it even warned you that it will slow down your iPhone or iPad when you're using it and I'm not gonna have anything like that on my phone or iPad. This was an excellent up until that point. When the app developers fix this I will come back and give it a higher rating and review; I rated it back before whatever happened to make this app screwed up it would've been far higher than two stars but as of right now to stars is being generous.

No upgrade. I paid for the upgrade for this app and no results. So when it’s fixed I will change my opinion. This should not happen with a new app.

Five star with one suggestion. I've tried a lot of apps to dictate my progress notes and found this to be the best. I have one suggestion though. I often want to correct myself – insert a word or phrase - and The first word is often is Often Capitalized. Just like that. There must be a way to program it so that it only capitalizes when you're starting after a period or question mark.

Let the app do the rest. After trying this app a couple of days, I found it to be amazing. Really amazed with how fast and accurate the voice recognition system is. Well done!

Crash and burn ios8 on ipad2. This app worked well for a very short time, and then began to shutdown without warning. I tried deleting/reinstalling a number of times with no success and eventually deleted it permanently as it was just an unstable app taking up space. I recently upgraded to ios 8 and thought to give it another try as having dictation capability on my ipad2 would be very useful.... But no luck. Before I could even begin speaking the app shut down. Not worth anything to me if it doesn't work.

Outstanding. The best voice recognition app I have ever used. I wonder if those who are complaining about it did not make the same mistake I made which is that after you finish recording you must hit the microphone button. I did not know this until the developers told me. I dictated this whole review on the app with only one mistake.

Great, but not a real Siri competetor. I am judging this based on their claim that it's 5 time faster than Siri. While in reality it seems just about on par with Siri, I find it not worth it if you already own Siri and aren't keen on taking notes. But if you want a good dictation program than this is fine, not great, but fine.

What went wrong was working fine? Now you want me to pay for something?. Was working until the upgrade what happened? Now it's not working you want me to pay for something I already had the right to all these years and I already paid for?

Works well so far. This app works well for me thus far on an AT&T 4g iPhone. It occasionnally takes an extra tap to connect to server but usually syncs right up. Pretty accurate even when I use acronyms and uncommon phrases. Is there a time limit on the length of your note? Mine seem to cut off at about 1 minute but that's usually enough time for me. Pumctuation doesn't flow in according to my cadence but the edit function makes it easy to add periods and capitalizations after the note is recorded.

Useless!. I downloaded this app and it stopped working after only 20 minutes!!! It kept telling me I was not authorized to use this service & to contact my service provider!! It is a rip off!! DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Apple needs to pull this app. I want my money back!!! I emailed the designers with no response of course! I am really ticked off! I don't have money to waste on poor products, even if it is $1.99. This app is not worth even that amount. The other negative reviews were100% correct!!

Pretty good. App works just as advertised the voice recognition is exceptional even with background noise. I like it. Only reason not giving 5 stars is because it should be an add on to the notes app already on every device instead of having 2 notes apps.

Really good. I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate this Pgm is the very first time I used it. There would be 5 stars in my rating if only I could open it in Messages where I really need it. I copy and then switch apps, but that makes it awkward for a conversation. I hate to type and am very slow at it.

Great voice recognition. I'm able to use it to record lectures, classes and etc with clear clarity. Superb performance and it lets you concentrate on the lectures instead worrying taking notes like old days.

Could be better. This app would be perfect for me if when adding voice dictation to the middle of a note it wouldn't automatically scroll to the end upon finishing dictating. Not very user friendly for quick notes if adding in.

I am giving it two stars because it did work well for a short time (a very short time) before i started getting a message that my use was unauthorized. i should have heeded the other reviews that said this would happen. i am baffled, considering the number of complaints, as to why the developers have not addressed the problem

Mr. AKPOVO. I appreciate this voice typing softwareI. I think that in the settings of the software, there should be a text that should be read by the user. That text will be recorded and analyzed by the voice detection and recognition module, which in its turn will create the user voice correspondence according to the language selected. Disappointed. I have tried several apps, that have not lasted more then a paragraph before having to press the record button again, I am in sometimes 3 hour meetings that is just impossible to write down everything said in a meeting and was hoping after the reviews that this one was better but I'm very disappointed in this app.

Excellent on my non-Siri Original iPad. UPDATE: This app also supports the 'Open In' feature allowing for quick switching to other supported apps with the text automatically pasted in place. Also, each dictated 'note' is saved in this app as a separate piece of paper which can be accessed later. Many similar apps erase and start over when you are done. Because of this, you can even use this app as a voice journal if you start each note with the current date. Later, you could export each journal page to a professional journaling app once you decide which one to use. This really is a powerful app. [Note to developers - You could expand this into a spinoff 'Voice Journal' app with a bit of tweaking of the file name matching the current date and the addition of a calendar display, etc. I'd but it!] This app is excellent. Unlike many of the speech to text apps out there on the market, this one allows you to add to the text you have already entered. You simply speak, wait, read, then tap the record button again to add to what you've already entered. The text is entered in what looks like the sheet of paper, and when you're done, as I am with this review which I am speaking right now, you simply tap the export button, copy it to the clipboard, then paste it in the review! What could be easier. I give it a full five stars.

Good editing. The Dictation interface works great. I've been using Dragon dictation for years now. This week I looked into switching because of a malfunction with Dragon dictation. I bought this app to give it a whirl. This app receives points for allowing onscreen edits, much easier than Dragon dictation. This app gets deducted points because so far I haven't figured out how to email the notes, dragon dictation makes that easy (although that is the current malfunction). These apps make my life possible! I'm a start a founder and have a very busy head.

TOTAL RIP OFF. I bought this to use for work. I tested it the first day I got it and it worked well. However, an hour later when I started to use it, it bombed!! It froze up, the screen went black and nothing worked. I tried repeatedly over a period of time and NOTHING changed. I contacted them to request a refund and got NO response. PLEASE don't waste your time or money!!!!

Very Good. This is a very good application. Like others, it is powered by Nuance which makes it very effective for dictation. The feature I like the most about this application is that numerous notes can be stored whereas other applications are restricted to one note at a time.

Not good. I just installed this app because of all the positive ratings. This app does not work very well at all. It keeps crashing. When I try to record, I keep getting a failed to connect to server message. When it did finally record it crashes most of the time when finished and speech recognition is the pits. It mispelled a lot of the words, even when using the iRig Mic Cast, and bluetooth ear piece. This could be a good app, but it needs serious updates. I even tried reinstalling with the same results.

Quick and Easy Notes. After a few tries (had connection to server issues) was able to dictate notes fine. Good language support and surprisingly accurate. Making it clearer on when recording is taking place would be helpful.

Great app. Easy app to use, and to add to or take away from. If you have to leave the app to do something else, it keeps what you've written there until you finish.

Great Potential. Bought this app to make text entry less time consuming. Great when it doesn't block access to the online server. As it is it refuses access at apparent random intervals. When this problem is fixed it will get 3 stars. Needs the ability to undo to get 4 stars.

Needs work!!!. I’ve tried to use this I’m just giving you a hard time they need to give me more information after you buy it there’s no way to tell how to operate it I’ve been playing around with this for a half hour and I find it difficult to do something about it thank you

App does not work. The new app that is supposed to fix this problem also does not work. Voice notes crashes every time I hit the share button. If you pay for the premium version it takes your money but it doesn't add any additional features and it doesn't work any better. I just downloaded your app called "voice notes" and I used it for about an hour. Then it stopped working. Now the app gives me an error saying I'm not "authorized to use the service". Would you please fix this problem or refund my money?

Works well. When it works. Appears that there is a maximum amount of transcribing one can do over a period of time, before getting an error.

I'm trying to be nice..... Simply, don't get this app. It worked for me one time. Now it says that I don't have the authorization to use this app on my server. I contacted the people who wrote the app and have not heard anything from them. It seems sooo simple. If you develop an app and it doesn't work, then fix it. It's your app. You're the one with the brains smart enough to develop it, we're simply the buyers and users of your app. If you can't figure out what's wrong, then ask others or don't lead people on. I hope that they get this figured out.

Exceptional!. This created an alternative for me to purchasing software and a separate microphone. It was wonderful find. It is a most useful product.

Over all, quite acceptable. I have been experimenting with several dictation apps recently and I found that I like this one the best. One of my favorite features of this app is that, as long as I have allowed the app to process my dictation, it will save that dictation even if I exit the app and return to it. So far no other similar apps have that same feature. I am frustrated with the inability to process more than a minute or so of dictation without having to pause, save, and restart. This seems to be a common complaint with all similar apps, however it is understandable. There is also a learning curve as to how quickly and clearly to speak so that the dictation is transposed accurately; again I find this similar amongst all dictation apps. Overall I find this app quite acceptable for my purposes and would recommend it to others seeking the same service. This review was dictated using the app and needed very little editing.

Not bad if without SIRI. Voice Notes is a simple application where the user speaks into the phone and the audio is converted to text form. The user can then copy, email, or open the text in a different app. I'm surprised with the lack of screenshots in the App Store. For some reason, this app needs to connect with a server to record. When I first tried it out, I kept getting an error when I tried to record. This could be frustrating for someone who really needs to do this immediately. Also, it is confusing that you have to select record again to finish. If you select "done" it closes out of the note. There should be some kind of basic one page tutorial. After recording you voice, the app will process it all at once. It would be nice if it was showing the text while recording so the user can see mistakes. I did a few recordings, the app was pretty accurate most of the time. I would say around 60% of the time. So for long recordings, this might not cut it. Sometimes it will think you said some pretty vulgar things, but this can be humorous. This app needs improvement, but it works pretty much as intended.

New way for taking notes :). Voice Dictation for Notes has good features like 23 languages support, learning ability and sharing notes easily but shouldn't be compared with Siri because of its functionality differences and lack of iOS entegration. But when I tried it for taking notes which is nearly one page, it is surprisingly fast. So especially note takers can get really help from this app.

Good dictation apps.. This apps can take in whole paragraph of voice and process at once. It is quite accurate. After, input, you only need to do minor correction. Still have room to improve but with 0.99. It can save me a lot of time compare to input using touch screen.

Just get a free app. I bought this app before I found dragon dictation. Voice notes is not very accurate for me and I don't even use the note pad. If you so need the notes function, just get dragon dictation and copy and paste into the built in notes app. Dragon is much more accurate for me and actually learns after you correct it!

Useless. This app is absolutely useless!!! Even when you speak clearly and slowly the words are not correct. Quicker to type it yourself! I wouldn't recommend this app at all

Useful tool. I use the app to make notes while working outside at night when the keyboard is not a viable option. The recording is for the most part very accurate and intuitive. I substitute Siri as the medium and have no trouble with that. I've discovered that you say "NUMERAL" if you want a number 1-09 but it reads 10 and so on as a numeral by default. I'd like to know all the shortcuts! Bottom line, a very useful app. List of shortcuts please!

Good until I wasn't allowed to use it!. I found nothing wrong with this app, it was dictating my every word, very well, until half way through a document it told me did not have permission to record any further. I paid money for this product, I expect it to work. Not good enough.

Voice dictation. I should have read the reviews. This is a useless app. and it's the second useless purchase I've made from the App Store. The App Store should prove the products before offering them. There should be a zero option for ratings; giving a one star suggests I approve somewhat.

the best of 4 programs I've tried. It's great! I can sit outside and dictate a lot of things, then clean them up later on the computer--I'm not so tied to being indoors!

Do NOT purchase!. Same complaint as many other users if you research the internet: After a few times of use, the app stalls with message "Not authorized to use this service..." Hence useless! Using on iPad 2 with latest IOS.

Read reviews from 7-24 before buying this is horrible. They are stealing money app does not work. App does not work. Charged my card and it does not work. itunes gives our money to this person and does not even check if apps work or not.

Doesn't work!. I will try to get my money back. I cannot get it to work at all! The server won't connect even though I have a full WiFi connection and full 3G connection. A waste of everyone's time!

Stopped working. As with so many other users, this app stopped working for us as well. My son was in the middle of recording a story for school and suddenly it was telling us we are not authorized for that use. Lame.

Junk don't flush your money down this app... This is junk. I got the not authorized to use it message. If they are not authorizing my use after I bought it then give me my money back. That would be the honest thing to do...that's not happening so that means they are not honest. So don't waste your money on it. Sincerely, mr irritated.

OK. It's an ok app , the voice regonition isn't the best and sometimes I would get an error when trying to record. If you have the 4s , not really sure it's worth it since you have Siri and speech to text recording anyway.

Works good for me. Works very well for short notes and memos which is all I do with it. Had no problems with speech recognition which is better than Siri.

No Landscape mode. It would be nice if this app included a Landscape mode vs. Portrait only. Also, direct links to gmail and text messages would be useful.

Very useful. I knew up front this wasn't Siri. I use it for lists and notes (like its name). It does a great job. It's doing a good job of "learning" as I use it more.

Voice recognition is still (very) imperfect. It works alright, but I still don't have any luck with voice recognition programs.

Good idea but needs stability. I like how it works And I was amazed when I see Taiwan mandarin option in the list But sometimes it crashes and sometimes I Just can't connect to the server.

Decent App. It works pretty well at understanding what you say, and it's a simple way to take notes if you want to dictate them.

Dictation. Has a lot more work to be done to reach the level of efficiency. It is however a great feature. You just have to review every statement to double check the words are correct.

Horrible. The worst app, lost part of my dissertation even though I backed it up using the email aspect. Mail never received, rip off! Contacted support but never responded to my request to try and recover my info. This is my second attempt to leave a review but if you post a nickname the review is deleted. Seems that any info is not secure, beware!
