It does work, but needs some tweaking. For grins I read (verbatim) one of their examples: "Tomorrow I have a meeting at 10 o'clock, remind me two hours before." After it processed what I said, the summary text read: "Remind me hours before" (which is a bit confusing), but it did hear me say 10 o'clock, because it did set the meeting. However, it did not set the reminder. I tried this several times in a row and got identical results. I'm betting this app will have further updates so I'll rate this 5 stars. Pretty impressive already though. It's nice to see someone looking out for the Siri-less masses.

Recording. Purchased the premium package to access unlimited recordings to text messages. Unfortunately, the recording to text didn’t work. None of my messages were translated, therefore I didn’t have anything to save. Contacted the vendor in regards to the problem, several weeks later no response. Don’t waste your time and money with this app.

Excellent. Has a glitch.. Best voice recognition I've tried. Of course there are mistakes, but it frequently does a perfect job. The messaging feature could be great--it allows a default address to which emails (or SMS) will go. I've only tried email, but can't set default address. First, it would choose an address other than the one I tapped on! Now, I have no default address, because it crashes when I try to pick one. Also: subject line is blank. This requires typing, which is what I'm trying to avoid. It would be best if there was a simple pre-filled subject, which could have the app name, first few words of text, or both. If I were satisfied with these issues, 5 stars for sure. As it is: still super useful.

Nice improvements over last update still missing a couple things. After the last update 1.1, I deleted the app and stuck with the free dragon dictation app I had. Giving the app another shot, I downloaded it again after update 1.2. This time around I deleted dragon dictation and stuck with this app. I am now happy with my purchase. The quick link to Evernote works now. I am now able to get multi session recording in a single dictation also. I like the fast access options added and auto start recording feature. Being able to add a favorite for iMessage and email is nice but I would the ability to add more than one person for each. You could then choose which one of the favorites you want to send the text or email to after selecting the quick link icon. I would also like to see a quick link to Notes and/or the ability to save the dictation as a note for access later in the app. Keep the improvements coming!

For Bliond Iphone 3GS or Iphone 4 users, stil completely accessible With Voice Over. If you are a blind Voice Over user and have either an Iphone 3GS or an Iphone 4, this app will do very nicely. In the previous version, there was a bug in which if you pressed the Mic button to continue dictation, you could not then press it again for dictation to be turned off. Therefore, it was necessary to have "Wait for end of speech" turned on. Not so with this latest edition. There is only one slight issue. The button just to the right of the "continue Dictation" button bears the same label; but, it's actually the "Clear Text" button. How to fix this? Just focus on the button which is mislabeled. Then, double tap with two fingers on the screen. You will then be in a text edit area where you can write the correct labeling for the clear text button. Otherwise, it's a hard app to beat. It's not Siri; but, for what it does, it does it very nicely indeed. this new version is very well worth what you will pay for it.

Email. Needs email to be able to send. Don't waist your money. Once this is fixed I'll update review.

Worthless for more than short texts!. I purchased both this dictation app and the other app trying to compete with Dragon Dictation. Both are worthless . . . I am an attorney who has used Dragon Dictation for about 6 months to dictate client reports. I had hoped one of these would allow me to find an app with a better user interface, better ability to edit text in app, and improve accuracy over time. But I will never find out because they are not worth more than dictating short apps--something SIRI already does! To start, you can hardly tell this app apart from its other competitor. I thought they were from the same developer and so I am not sure who ripped off the other. Nonetheless, they are identical with one exception: This app does allow you to continue dictation after it stops itself. Unfortunately, as useful as this COULD be, it falls flat on its face. When you continue dictation, you lose the ability to do so efficiently and accurately. Suddenly, the app stops capitalizing sentences and other appropriate words. Even the suggested punctuation command of "Caps on" fails to get the words capitalized. Therefore, for all purposes, this app is as short-sighted as its other competitor when it comes to proving useful for any more than short dictation of texts. Do not buy this. With all of its imperfections, stick with Dragon instead.

Great,but..... This app is amazing, but it could use some adjustments.. We should be able to access our regular apps instead of just our games and iMessage. Otherwise, this app is great!!!

DO NOT BUY - COMPLETE WASTE OF $$$!!. Well I was unable to give it a zero star rating but... Wish I could share a screenshot of the complete gibberish that my words were just turned into. Absolutely not worth a cent, let alone three dollars. I don't usually even write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to waste their money. Do not buy this app!! Is there any way I can return it? It seriously doesn't work AT ALL.

Good when it works. It worked well for me at first, but now I'm no longer able to use it. Every time I try, I get an error message that says I'm not authorized to use the service. Not sure what that's about??

Doesn’t work. It records than does not convert to text and does not save the voice, so all is lost. Tech support looking into matter.

Destined for greatness. Simple, clean, and it works! When you're done dictating, you get several options for what to do with the text besides copy to clipboard, including tweet, SMS and email. With a few more enhancements, this could be an app I use every single day. I love dictation, and there aren't a lot of options if you can't get Siri. If this app could save texts as individual notes, allow you to add more text to them, and make the post-dictation process cleaner (right now, once you're done with a dictation, you have to hit 'cancel' to start a new one) it would be just about perfect. Add support for SimpleNote, and it would be heaven!

iPad 2 with this app. This app doesn't work so well far away from the microphone. When it is close to the microphone of my iPad it either works really well or it guesses. So, it's an okay app. For the amount of money if I knew I wouldn't get it.

Awesome!!!. This is an incredible app! It is SO fast and accurate!!! I am truly impressed that they were able to make it so fast. The latest version is pretty cool with the fast access, but it would also be cool if it allowed multiple favorite contacts for SMS and email. Comparison to Siri: 1. MUCH faster since it doesn't have to connect to a server in order to understand what you're saying. Big Plus! 2. Not as integrated as Siri, so you currently can't ask it to text a specific person via vocal command like you can with Siri. But the fastness and accuracy of voice recognition with this app outweighs the con of not-as-integrated. It would be great if the app provided a mechanism to vocally command it to message somebody in your address book. It could provide a format for such commands such as "voice assistant, text [address book contact name] the following: [content of message]. It would then prompt you for a list of valid contacts and numbers to message. That would be great! But this app is definitely worth the buy!!!! Thanks!!!

Why make a "done" button?!?!?!. Why can't There be a pop up AFTER you finish and export your work. I accidentally hit the done button right after I was finished with my WHOLE PAPER and instantly lost everything. There can at least be an "are you sure" button!!! Also it will take just as much time as typing whatever you are going to type because it does not add periods, commas, quotes, capital letters, proper nouns or anything like that. Don't get this app. Waste of $2.99. Please take my advice.

Printer option. Although I didn’t see a description of this app from the company itself the review I read said you could print from the app. I was very disappointed that it does not seem to be the case

Great. I'm shack0305 and I approve of this APP.

Don’t pay for the premium. I paid for the premium and , if anything, the program has gotten worse. It stops transcription after a a few seconds to maybe just over a minute and often crashes after I’m done speaking. I dictate brainstorming seasons on my commute and am extremely frustrated with the performance of this program.

Worst app ever. It deleted my recorded data for my office work and I’m in trouble now plus there’s no efficient or immediate way to contact their help support

Current version does not work. After using this app for over a year and recommending to others it is now useless. Don't bother to download this until it is fixed.

Nice app. The developer found what people where wanting and added a little mix of what people like(Siri). While this is a great app that I will use, there are some problems. These problems will always occur with modern day applications/hardware/software that picks up what a speaker is saying. This app fails to type some words correctly and fails to be flawless(as some people want it, like me) BUT this app exceeded my expectations. I figured this would be 90% useless app that I would try then write a review for but I was wrong. It is quite useful despite the fact there are some flaws. Since this app is relativity new I am looking forward to its future and seeing what the developer has to offer.

Stops recording. I bought the upgrade and it stops recording within 10 seconds. Waste of money. Don’t buy.

Works but limited. Although this app can actually convert your speech to text, it's missing some very important qualities. First, there's no way to save the text within the app. When you're done with its conversion, you MUST export the information, or all will be lost when you leave the app. Second, although it appears to correctly punctuate everything you say on your first entry, when you tap the microphone button to add more text, the speech to text translation is all small letters. Sentence capitalization is entirely missing. The only app I have found that fixes both of these problems is 'Voice Notes' by QuanticApps. Both this one and that one use the same Nuance voice conversion engine, it's just that 'Voice Notes' has a superior implementation. I'll raise my stars to 4 if the punctuation problem is solved and 5 if the ability to save entries is added.

I love it!. I would be soooo appreciative if you guys added support to an app called text now. It would make this app so much more popular. The ability to send texts to your friends for free through the text now app is amazing but it would be better if you could just speak what you would normally type. I'm sure that this functionality would work well. Or rather then just adding this to apps one by one, you might just be able to create a custom keyboard like emoji is but instead of 😄😊😃 those, it could just have a little microphone that you could tap and the voice dictation would begin. I would love if you guys could do this. Don't get me wrong, I find your app accurate and highly stunning but I would enjoy very much if you could either add text now support or a keyboard. Keep up the wonderfully work and thank you for your stunning app making the app store that much better.

Impressive!. I am definitely impressed with this app. I've tried others of this type and ended up deleting them quickly from my device. Voice Assistant works extremely well. Even the first few times I tested it out, there were, actually, NO mistakes when my vocal sentences were converted to text. I didn't speak real fast, but neither did I speak overly slow. You can say the word, "paragraph" after a sentence and the final text will show a new paragraph started. I haven't tried recording and sending directly to a social network, yet, but all that I've done and recorded has worked very well. I do recommend this app. EDIT: I needed to come back and add something to my review. There are a lot of reviews from people who, it's obvious, never read the description. If you're going to purchase an app without reading the app description then you've got no right to complain about anything, and, certainly, no right to put in a negative review. There was nothing in this app's description that said it was "a replacement for Siri" nor that it even acted like Siri. Nowhere did it say that the app "speaks", yet some reviewers are complaining that it "doesn't speak like Siri". Please understand what an app is supposed to do before trying to review it. It's extremely unfair to the developers to receive so many negative reviews that are just plain wrong.

Great but.... This app is already becoming one of the best apps on my iPad. It is so much faster than typing, so I can send SMS and email twice as fast. I do think, however, that in the next update, you should be able to add attachments to you voice email.. So when you send an email, it should give you an option to add an attachment, like a video. If you say no, it sends, and if you say yes, it lets you go back to the home page and into another app and tap what you want to send, or something like that. But this app is so accurate. I think that if editing your text wouldn't be an option, this app would be getting one Nd two stars.

Not satisfied. I've had this a long time but now it doesn't work on my iPhone or iPad correctly. It works better on the iPhone but not the way it was in the past. It is not detecting end of speech.

Ms. I've been using Voice Assistant for about 4 or 5 months, & so far I'm pretty pleased with it. Pros: It works pretty darn fast, good for long text, helpful since my eyes are bad & keeps me from having to use keyboard. Cons: In a recent update, they changed the icons for record, send, trash, & delete, and also the background color behind those. The icons are to light - they are to hard to see with old eyes like mine. They need to darken the background color so icons are easier to see. Also, they took away the "recording" notification when you're re-recording a message, so you just have to go on blind faith that its actually recording, & sometimes it's not, so you have to redo it. :/

Awesome. I love this app because it is very efficient and I bet that right now is taking my words exactly as they are being spoken. It's a miracle! It did!

Don't waste your money on this App not Worth it. I just bought this app today for three dollars it started to work at first but now I don't work at all it tells me I am on authorized to use it I hope y'all get this fixed soon otherwise I have wasted my money

Simple and Accurate. Purchased Voice Assistant today and it's fantastic. I thought nothing could touch the Dragon Dictation app, but I was wrong. I think it's using the same engine, but this seems to work much better with regard to accuracy. My only hesitation is with using the app. With the Dragon software, you can speak a sentence or two and have it display what you've dictated. From there, you can go back to dictation and build your letter or blog post. With Voice Assistant, once I leave the dictation screen, it takes me to a screen where I can edit what I've just dictated. (Is there a way to edit with dictation, rather than the standard keyboard approach?) Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any way to continue dictating once I leave that part of the app. And, the interface on my original iPad does not look like the screenshots on the Apple Store. I have Pages installed on my iPad, but it does not show up in my list of apps. I'm hoping I'm missing something, but it would be a shame that you can only record one session of dictation at a time. Other than that, the accuracy is nearly perfect. Hands down the most amazing voice recognition I've used so far between Dragon Dictation and the voice recognition on my Nokia Lumia with Windows Mobile. Both very good, but this is better. At the sale price, it's a knee jerk impulse buy. You'll never regret it.

NOT Siri. I read a review on flipboard this was just like Siri maybe even better. The artificial gave the impression that this app might be pulled from the app store because it looks and functions so much like Siri. The reviewer has never used Siri I suspect. This is just a voice to text app AND DOES WORK. It does have built in links to in-bed your voice text into other apps such as email, iMessage, and social apps but dragon is free and does the same thing. This means you have to go from this app to the other app for one text. Then reopen this app then back to the other app. In a live text situation it is useless. Siri is built right into the apps like iMessage. Plus Siri will return answers in voice. Siri should be built into the new iOS on ALL DEVICES not just the iPhone 4s. I guess Apple needed something to attract buyers for there new phone which is just an iPhone 4 with a faster chip and better camera. Oh yea and Siri.

Very disappointing. This has easy controls to use BUT it did not work after several attempts. It will record and say it’s converting to text but then crashes. Complete waste of time downloading this app.

Fix the initial Caps and it gets five stars!. This app is amazing! I only wish it had a little more functionality to use it with more third-party apps. Also, it has a little bug in which it's really hard to capitalize the beginning of the sentence, and there is no auto correct function to fix either this or normally capitalize words, such as proper nouns. dragon dictation had this functionality, and it worked just fine, but because their voice recognition is so much inferior, I'd still prefer to use this app and just capitalize everything by hand. i hope they fix that soon. also the fact that it seems to leave a double space every time you restart the recording. that's just annoying. other than that, it's a great app with lots of potential! looking for a nice little update soon.

Tired of being spammed. I have notifications turned off for this app yet I still receive ads from the developer sent through the notification system. I don't think this is an appropriate use for the system and my choice not to receive notifications should be respected no matter what the developer decides to send through it. I've written to the developer multiple times about this hoping it was a bug but there's never been a response, only more ads. If they want to advertise their other products, why can't they devote a page in their app to this or let us sign up for e-mail notifications of upcoming deals like other developers do? At least then, I've made the decision to receive advertisements instead of having it made for me. Even though it did not cost much, I wish I could get a refund. The developer shouldn't profit off of using the system inappropriately. I will be uninstalling this app and looking for another one.

Useless. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Absolutely useless app, waste of money. DON'T BUY IT!!!!

Worked for a day then died. Worked ok for a day then stopped working, giving me an access denied error. No support help. Only allows recording for so long then stops, not helpful when dictating a longer email. Lots of errors in the translation. Not worth the money I paid, especially after quitting on me after a day.

A useful app. Voice assist is a good app. It has a good range of sharing options. It is reasonably accurate, but even when it makes an error it is quicker than typing on the virtual keyboard.

Scam. After 5 mins, it said 'error, contact your service provider'.

Took a risk! Not impressed.. I just don't think the technology of voice recognition has arrived yet. Go buy a cuppa coffee instead.

Very very good app. No need for iPad 3 or iPhone 4s. It is the best voice assistant app ever. Thank you of making this possible. It even works with long sentences. Keeps kicking me out, can’t get help or see FAQs as nothing happens when you tap the icon, most importantly there is no text displayed at all.. nothing in history or anything. Fantastic. I am really impressed by this app, the text from voice is really accurate. I love how the email is generated once the speech is converted to text, very good timesaver. Punctuation is not added, however I've not had much time to play with this app yet, so I'm commenting more on the accuracy. I would say about 95% of the time this app got my speech correct, and I have an Aussie/kiwi accent so it could be my fault that it was confused that 5%

Good app. Excellent ease of use

So far so good. In these first 5 minutes this app is great. Almost no set up ... The text is almost perfect and the direct to printer option has been all of 3 minutes to purchase, install, and test. So far so good.

Not Happy Jan. Utterly useless. After initial use, having deleted and reloaded several times, get an error message saying you are not authorized to use this app. Doubly infuriating when you have actually paid money to waste masses of time on this product that DOES NOT WORK.

App. Good app, however not sure how app is to post comments automatically? Also you can't ask it to send a text message to a specific person, or can you?

Need improvements. 1. Beep should be played after the app has connected, not before. Because while it connecting, it does not record any word I said, and it give a false impression. 2. Language option should appear in the main menu, because I often uses more than one language, and I have to keep going into sub-menu to check which language I am using. 3. It would be great if it could automatically copy the text.

Fantastic!. Just what the doctor ordered. Was after a voice to text device and this is perfect. Have transcribed long paragraphs with no errors. Recognises punctuation. Can open in a txt msg, email, Facebook post etc. brilliant stuff.

Don't bother. It only works for a limited number of words and then only half a dozen times before it denies you access. I paid for it therefore I should be able to use it!! Don't bother!!!

Voice recognition brilliant for Aussies. On iPhone 4. Tried for SMS, just works brilliantly. Would of loved it though if u could just say "text joe blow" but instead u record MSG then press contact and send. Still a quick and easy process but most of all it works seamlessly.

Waste of space & money. This is the worst app I had ever come across!! Can't even dictate a simple "Hi honey how are you?"...the app's translation..."My gummy cow run do"....Who RATED IT 5 STARS!!!!.....I can get a better dictation from my Asian gramps 😳

Dreadful app- SCAM. This app is very disappointing and practically useless -in fact I would say that it is fraudulent that iTunes continues to make it available when the product stops working if it is used to translate voice to over a certain number of characters a day. After a very short time of use it said "you do not have authorisation to use this application" If you we're hoping to use the product as I was to translate university notes then forget it - the developers need to inform purchasers prior to purchase that there is a strict limit per day on voice to text conversion. I asked for a refund. I would not recommend this app for anyone wanting to use it to convert more that 100 words per day..I ignored the previous comments DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP - or if you do complain to iTunes and ask for a refund - they need to take more responsibility to check the credentials of their app providers

Doesn’t work. Customer service doesn’t reply. Don’t waste your money. It works great for 59 words or so. I bought the premium app and it behaves exactly the same way as without premium. Just 50 words and stops. Contacted customer service. Nothing for two weeks so here is your review.

Horrible app. If you are deep voiced it will say things you never said which are completely far fetched, I tried to speak monotone even and it failed, not worth it needs way more work!

Update Crashes. Worked reasonably well until I updated it. Now it does not work at all...the app automatically shuts down when it tries to process your recorded speech into text. Save your money until it is fixed.

Egh. Its good & all but its not worth paying for. This should be the free version & a better newer version should be for sell. In that version you should be able to use it in the background. Almost like a Siri thats for sell only for apple products. You would have almost about a billion more profits that way. From all the people that would like Siri but not willing to buy the iPhone 4S just for the feature. Charging from a range of 20-40 dollars a pop, billions of customers. You'll make a fortune.

Very short sample. I tried to write the text for this review using this app. It would only record for a few seconds—not nearly long enough for even a short review. My first try was not accurate but, after holding my iPod touch 4 closer, quality was much better. More stars when I am able to record for at least a minute. It would also be nice to see the text appear as I speak instead of at the end.

awesome app. I love this app, especially at the price. For what this app has already it does a good job. Its accuracy is the key to what makes this app great. If you could add the ability to add to already spoken text, rather than having to say everything at once. Add the ability to spell check or a thesaurus and dictionary function. Keep making improvements to this already awesome app

Needs work. I wish this thing would record for longer. The maximum time is about 30 seconds. I also don't understand why I can't do a second recording session right after the first one. it means that I have to dictate my complete e-mail in one go. I think this is pretty rough and it puts it behind the Dragon dictation app. I'm not such a huge fan of Dragon dictation, sometimes it gets glitchy, and this one has a slightly smoother interface, but It's hard to overlook this lack of feature.

It's not supposed to be Siri. Stop complaining that it isn't.. It does exactly what it says it does, types out text that you speak into your phone. To those complaining its not Siri...duh, Siri is artificial intelligence, this is a voice dictation app. Stop giving it bad reviews because it doesn't do what you wish it did. There will never be a "Siri app," if you want Siri, buy an iPhone 4s. If you want to be able to quickly and accurately dictate texts, emails, etc., then buy this app.

Good addition do Siri. This app does some great things. It allows you to update twitter and facebook. Among other things, it seems to understand me well. And I will use it mostly for Facebook and Twitter which are the only things I can't do on Siri. It does have room for improvement you have to back out to do a new command. Which means I can only update my Facebook once while driving or risk getting a ticket for looking at my phone...

Voice Assistant. I love it! No its not Siri but I didn't read anywhere that said it was either. It does exactly what it says it will do and just like auto correct it learns from you and that may just take a bit more time than what they have you believe or expect it to be. I think in time it will evolve and be just as good with some awesome features! Great job! Barbcarreras

Amazing!. This is by far the best application that I have ever seen in this category. I love how you can just put it into a pages document or Evernote or anything similar to those things. There is nothing I could do to make this app better. There are no cons. Best voice recognition ever. Buy it. Don't hesitate. Don't even look at other apps before buying this. Amazing.

For the iPhone 4 & bellow as well as the iPad 2 & bellow. It's great! Fast and for me 95% accurate. But, I have the new iPad so there is no need for it on there. But! I have and iPhone 4, do no Siri, which means I use it on my phone and love it! The new update is great. A MUST HAVE. Now with that being said, I hate to say it, but on the new iPad (the dictation option on your keypad) its not as accurate as this app. The iPad gets about 95% right. So maybe apple can work on that. I would say to add a spell check and gear it towards papers and then this app would be the 5 star app it has the potential to be. Well worth .99 though

Amazing when it's "authorized by service provider!". I LOVED this app on my AT&T iPhone. It did an amazing job of speech to text. Very accurate and intuitive. Best I've ever used. Unfortunately I just switched to Verizon & my new iPhone gives me the error message of "Not authorized to use this service. Please contact your service provider." I contacted Verizon & they can't help with 3rd party apps. Come on VoiceAssist guys, do your magic to fix this bug...Pretty please!!!

Great App. This the most precise voice recognition software I have ever used. I compared this with Dragon Dictation and the results are not even close. I gave it 5 stars because it is so new, but there is one major thing missing. The ability to continue after you stop to check or edit. As far as I can see you have to paste it somewhere and start again. I rarely can get all my thoughts correct on the first try and I imagine most people are the same. Great Start!!

Solid App - Frequently Evolving w/ Updates. This app does what it says and does it well. It's been especially great with the frequent updates and evolution of tools available in i voice. it's nothing overly complicated or flashy, but gives you an environment to speak instead of type. in fact this review is a direct result of me using i voice. ⚠ The punctuation is usually not an issue as it is above. It doesn't handle things such as iVoice and returns them phonetically. There are minor things to correct by hand, otherwise I'm consistently receiving really solid results from their translation servers. ⚠

Not bad for a buck!. I'm not utterly impressed so far, but after some correspondence with tech support, I understand that there are updates to follow that will enhance the experience. I'm looking forward to these, as I don't like a lot of clutter withy practical apps and this one certainly has not much of that to speak of. For the introductory price of $.99, and the promise of a better experience down the line, you can't beat it...

Needs minor bug fixes. I like this app is very good I only have a few complaints yes it is very fast and yes it will change the world but I think that it needs to be a way to read your voice more clearly because I am having a lot of verbal mistakes when I click done now I'm using it to write this review right now and I usually have to edit a couple Words it messes up please still pretty good at three stars and when you fix the mistakes I will give it 5

Pretty decent. I'm using this app to write a review on the app itself I give it up maybe a four stars because it's always very accurate but it's very useful it only taking me maybe 30 seconds right to review at molds instead of typing a minute or come out of a test type or so it really helps me and it records for a while to keep talking but if you take long enough of a break that's the only reason why I don't like it but if you take long enough of a break it stops recording I'm at the start process as it can tell us at the most accurate thing but it still works very well i really like helping me a lot

Wonderful. I'm really loving the intergration of different services into the dictation component; that has always been something I have felt Siri was lacking (odd that Apple is not the leader in this regard, but hey...). Dictation is responsive and 99% of the time copies exactly what I have said outloud. Still a few kinks to fix (ie, whenever I say something it rarely has trouble with my accent) but other than that i'm totally pleased!

Voice asst new update now. I downloaded this app and it didn't work well at first. However because of the app support team they have they answered my questions and also fixed the problem with a update. The app works great and with the 75% off it was even better. This app works so good it's worth the money at full price. Highly recommended.

WOW. This app is amazing! Granted there are a few mistakes here and there (you have to annunciate well,) but in general it's great! I used Dragon Dictation app before an this is a huge improvement. It's pretty accurate and quick! The connection to SMS and email is a plus. I even tried it in a different language (there is an option in settings to switch language) and it's almost flawless. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

Better Than Nothing, I Guess. This apps works ok--just ok. It's not very accurate, and you need to pause for a second or two before you start speaking or it will cut off the first few words. The builtin voice dictation on my new iPad is far superior in both performance and accuraccy. It's better than nothing but stil room for improvement. I'll probably use it on my iPhone 4, but I will also be on the lookout for something that works a bit better. Tip: DO NOT use the "detect end of speech" option; it is horribly inaccurate.

Instantly deleted.. My job requires intensive levels of dictation, so I wanted to compare a few dictation apps to make sure that I had the best one. I compared this app with Dragon, and the standard microphone on my iPhone. This was worse than the others. It was slower, and did not even recognize the word potato. There is no editing function that I could see, and it is slower than even the standard microphone. Slower, inaccurate, and a complete waste of money. Also, I wrote this review using the included microphone. :p P.S., Check out the command list. It says, at the bottom, powered by dragon. /facepalm

great app. This app is suprisingly accurate, much better than Dragon. If there was only a way where you could select an option where if you paused for a certain amount of time, it would insert a period in for you, instead of you having to say "period". I say that just for people who may be older and would like to use it for e-mail, but can't get used to having to say punctuation commands. But the accuracy of this app is incredible. Well worth $3, but especially $1.

Incredible app. Looks like the same set of features as Dragon Dictation but is way faster and has more accuracy. You have to have "detect end of speech" enabled in edit speech mode but aside from that, it's almost a perfect app. Oh and support is very attentive! Maybe you guys will throw in some Vlingo features like being able to send a text or email completely with voice. Very handy for use when driving.

AWESOME!!!. I have used similar programs, but was never satisfied with them. This one is flawless. I have a rather large vocabulary and just playing around with it, I spoke some of the most obscure, hard to pronounce, hard to spell words I could think and the app recognized and printed every one of them exactly right....including superciifragilisticexpialidocious!! What an app!!!!!

Does what it says, but can be better!. Like it good and a, but it's annoying how I have to go in a different app. Please add the following : 1)Option to add this in the message ape, like Siri dictation. This way it would be much faster and easier. 2) Option to toggle it by using the home button. 3) instead of manually choosing SMS/email/Facebook... We should be able to speak it. Much better while driving. Do these and this app will be the top app in the market. Great start just minor improvements that would make it the best of the best!

Great app - just one suggestion. I wish you could switch the language from the main screen (maybe a flag at the top left?) instead of having to go into settings. I use different languages often. The app is great and has a clean interface. I like the fact that after you record and are shown the text, you can add to the text by recording more. I recommend it.

Great App. This is the best voice recognition software I have tested so far. It was 100% spot on when dictated direclty into the phone and 99% on when done over my Bluetooth headset. I have the 3rd generation iPad and an iPhone 4S and the Voice Assistant works equally well wilth both of my devices. While my phone has built in voice recognition, the accuracy pales at the leve this app works, such that I have opted not to bother using it. I will use the Voice Assistant instead. Great accomplishment

Great tool. I bought this app to use it with Italian, as, I don't understand why, iPad doesn't offer voice dictation in Italian. The app is quite accurate, there are some things that need tweaking, but all in all it works fine. I contacted the developers to make a suggestion and they replied to my email in a matter of minutes, saying that they will implement the modification in a week or so. I am happy to support this company because I feel they will keep on bettering their product; When they will, I will happily give it five stars.

Doesn't really do anything. The voice recognition is pretty good, but Vlingo is just as good or better. However, it does not really DO anything other than copy what you say into a screen. At least Vlingo will create an email to whatever address you mention, be it text MSG or email. And it will do a lot more than that crAPP. At present, this app does not warrant even a free download for users, much less the total waste of your money. Oh well, we vote with our dollars, and I will never vote for this rip-off company again. They got 99 cents from me, but they will never get that from me again!

This is not Siri !!!!. Don't be fooled by the Siri look-alike graphic. This is just a plain speech to text app, no more and no less. This is not a Siri which you can send text message, check email, search the net and many other chores. This app doesn't do any of these. It is strictly a speech to text app! Once you finish your speech, it converts them to text and then you select where you want the text to be sent to such as Mail, Text Message…etc. It doesn't do it directly on other apps. The app requires your iPhone to be connected to their server to convert speech to text. It doesn't do the direct translation from your phone. If you lost data connection, it can't convert.

Near to Siri but not yet. The dictation recognition is considered quite accurate, and I might say it is better than Siri. But it don't serve like Siri, it only will capture your message and you have to select what you want to do with it. It will send the text to the option as your choice like SMS, Email, Twitter, Facebook, copy and some supported apps. It still need a lot of interaction to make an option. So, i would say, it is not an voice assistant, it is just a speech to text only.

Amazing. For 99 cents it's amazing. It works perfectly, just don't mumble. And to the idiot who said to turn it into a background feature you can't just do that. One because apple wouldn't let them since no one would buy 4s anymore. Stop being lazy and click the app. It's the same exact thing.

Faster than Siri!!!. Having an iPhone 4S I wanted to try an alternative because it takes a long time for Siri to respond back and get the right contact or place to send to. This app is the best out there as far as voice assistants go. I love the ability to choose where I send my texts whether it's email on the go, Facebook, twitter, SMS, or the clipboard! The only problem I had with the app is that it is not as accurate with speech as Siri. But other than that it is better and faster.

Better than Siri. Am using the voice assist app to write this review. I will not correct any errors that the app makes in translation. This is to show you how accurate this application is. Keep in mind that I just woke up about an hour ago and I have seasonal allergies. This makes my voice much harder to understand. I learned an iPhone 4S and I like this app better than Seery. It is more accurate, faster and it seems to understand me even when I use words that probably aren't in the dictionary

nice app but. why not parse what i said? text "name" "message" or "tweet" "message"? also, there is a bug with the sound. it initiates the sound when i hit the button but it really should play the sound when the text changes to recording (since connecting could take a few seconds). Sometimes I'm driving and i cant look at my phone too much.

Excellent! Even use it with my iPad 3. I thought I would not use this program after getting my iPad 3, but I find it is just as accurate as the new dictation program, and I like the options that I have to send a message easily in a number of ways. This is an extremely accurate program. Once I learned to speak like the people do in news broadcasts on TV, only smarter, I hardly ever make a mistake. That is the secret though – focus on speaking each word distinctly at a normal rate, and accuracy goes up quite high. Unfortunately, it doesn't do too much for the content.

A nice surprise. I reluctantly downloaded this app as many of the reviews were less than complimentary. I was pleasantly surprised. The app is powered by Nuance which is the same back end Dragon and Siri use which is incredibly accurate. This app has some nice little tweaks that make it very useful. In the settings menu, you are able to choose some fast access settings to enable the user to get to sending a text or email more quickly if that is the main purpose of using the app. Also, there is a auto record and auto copy feature that is nice. Keep the updates coming! Definitely worth a dollar. Not so if you have the iPhone 4S, but why would you be trying to find an app like this when you have Siri. The bad comments need to stop. Great app! Well done.

S'okay. I'm using this app right now to write this message. It's pretty good if you want to write text message via voice, but there is a free app called Dragon Dictation which does almost everything just as well. The only benefit this app has is the ability to open text directly in other apps, thus avoiding the 4 seconds it takes to copy/paste. But long emails work better Dragon Dictation, as it is easier to edit... And free

Great app!. The few times I've needed to use this app it's performed very well. No software is perfect and I've needed to correct the results on occasion, but overall I'm very satisfied. It's worth noting that I purchased the app in my iPhone and it syncs to my iPad as well, but can't be used due to what appears to be a licensing issue. No big deal but it appears that, having purchased this app, you can only use it on a single device.

Okay but nothing special.. For a dollar I can't gripe but if you read the 241 reviews below I think you'll agree they were all written by a group to load the ratings. They were all mostly written on the same day and they all say basically the same thing under different writers. Don't expect to buy the app and see what you are seeing on the screen shots above. I'll give it three stars for effort and hope that it gets better in interfacing with other apps but right now it's not much more than a play app.

The updates are AWESOME!. I've only had this app for a few weeks but I wished it would make it easier to speak a text to my wife. With the new updates it's so much easier, thanks to the ability to select a favorite and automatically have it go to her text. I LOVE this feature! Only question is... What if I want to use the word "period" or "comma" while dictating? Hmmm...

Changing my review from zero to hero. After the update everything has changed. It's like a new app. The support team took all recommendations into account and built the best dictation app of all. Now I deleted my old review and rewrote it with a five star. Hope they can come up with more exciting updates soon.

GET IT NOW. I got this app not really knowing if it would be useful and it was. You should make it so u can put it on the keyboard like on the iPhone 4s. I'm not sure if that is possible but if you look at the emoji icon app witch gives you the keyboard with icons then maybe you can start from there. Or maybe you could talk with apple or something. I've seen a few comments asking for that button so if you could that would be awesome.

Great App!. This app is really fantastic. I have had no problems using it at all. It makes it so much easier to email and iMessage. The price is great too! I just wish they would make it a keyboard like the emoticons. So instead of opening the app you could just switch the keyboard to this and be able to talk. I love this though.

Very good app could be a ton better. I think this is a very good app and very useful but I think you should be able to say a contact or some one you would want to send an email or message too. I also think that you should some some how make it so it will pop up if you go to a text message there should be a button or something that you can press and it will put it in that text. It's a great app but could be a lot better

So good, just needs..... The accuracy is way better than Dragon, thankfully!!! Just needs an update that -- keeps the transcribing going until I tell it to stop or silence for much longer than thoughtful pause -- allows me to add more text to same note after it stops rather than having to start a new note. With those 2 fixes, I'd give this 5+ stars. Keep up the good work!

This is not a Siri alternative!. Yes, the graphics are misleading, but it does what it is advertised to do. Of course it relies on the Internet to dictate what you are saying, but it certainly is faster that typing on the keyboard. It also provides fast access to sending text using other apps, so it is fairy convenient. You can also talk in different languages, and it will return text in the native language. It had some trouble picking up some words, but that maybe due to my iPod Touch's mic.

Needs better favorite selection. Voice recognition works great. Probably better than Siri. They added favorites for SMS/iMessage but has to be switched in the settings. Needs to have a quick drop down of the favorites after you speak too choose your recipient. Even better would be to have a send button within each contact to make it even faster. Having to go though the set up every time you want to change isn't very practical.

Needs update badly. Edit screen is broken.. When speaking the first phrase, the voice dictation is phenomenal, but it ends there. After processing that phrase, you're taken to the edit screen, and once you hit the Record button again to add on to your text, you can't stop the recording. This effectively renders the app useless for anything but one-phrase dictations, like the shortest tweets. I think this might be an excellent replacement for Dragon Dictation when this bug is fixed, but till then, I can't recommend it. Also note that this is not a Siri substitute. You can make dictations and copy them, but you can't "drive" your iPad or use it in apps like Siri.

Just amazing!!. This is the most useful app that i bought. It writes almost perfect. And recognize spanish and korean. BUT, think about this. When you are imessaging or emailing, you cannot use this app to give a response, because the only option you have is the voice dictation which is available in the ipad 3rd generation. This app only offers to write just from the very beginning, and sometimes it annoys.

Best Dictation program out there!. This program is extremely accurate in typing exactly what is said. I held back a star because I want to be able to look at my work and then go back to it, so I need a "continue" button. It would also be nice to be able to ad pictures to messages like in the resident SMS message program on my iphone.
