Simply amazing. I never, and I mean never right reviews. But I have to for this game. I started playing monkey island back in 2002, I found "The Curse of Monkey Island" at a garage sale and the case was interesting enough that I bought it. Ever since then I've played every game and can honestly say that this series is a) addicting! And b) hilarious! This game could make a cranky old man chuckle, Guybrushes character is probably the equivalent of Captain Jack Sparrow; except even funnier! I recommend EVERYONE download this game while it's free, and if you like it, show your support by buying the rest of the series!

Mixed feelings. I'm a big fan of the previous MI games for the computer. I was really excited to download the new game for iPhone and didn't even mind the price at first. But it's a little clunky to steer Guybrush around, even after a couple of hours, and it's difficult to experiment w inventory. Wish they'd stuck closer to the mechanics of the old game. Puzzles are interesting and graphics fine; storyline true to originals. Frustration of game play may keep me from buying new chapters, tho.

? im not having any problems.... i bought this game a while ago when it first came out... i havent had any lag or shut down problems, it does get a bit tracky when i first open it up but 2 min later its smoooooth sailing... anyway.... ive been a fan of gybrush threepwood (mighty pirate) ever scence the very first game on PC from like 1993 or 94', humorus, challenging and the characters are more rememberable than anything else ive seen or played, i seriously choked on my pumpkin pie when i saw that they released the first 2 PC games on iphone (and it being remastered was an extra 'hell ya'), now that they have this 5 part new game series i picked it up and again was floored on how amazing and fun it still is! this is a major score for any point and click adventure / puzzle fan, if you havent checked out the original 2 games "the secret of monkey island" & "lechuck's revenge" you should really pick that up and get down on those first, it will help you fall in love with the characters (like stan, the most annoying and rememberable character in the game by far haha) and get used to the puzzle layouts, if you dont know of some of the games insights you probly wont have as much fun with the puns and nostalgic punchlines in this series, but even so, such a worth while game for anyone of any age. must buy for sure!

Poor design for iPhone play. It appears, by reading other reviews, that a lot of us are unable to select and steal a doll from D’oro. This glitch appears early in the game and unfortunately the game cannot be progressed without the item. Waste of money.

Worked fine for me, late 2022. Played on a 9th gen basic iPad. Episode one played well, no crashes, no bugs for me. It doesn’t use the full real estate, but I assumed that was the case going in. The aspect ratio didn’t bother me at all though. Unfortunately I’d previously bought the first AND second episode a LOOOONG time ago (2012 or so), but while episode one worked and loaded fine, I had to re-purchase episode two. Ended up buying the whole 5 episode pack, because it was cheaper than purchasing separately even though I already had 1 & 2. 🤷‍♀️ Still, it’s my favorite franchise of all time, and hopefully one of the last times I’ll have to purchase. Just wish they’d stop taking away games we’ve previously purchased. Also the original Monkey Island used to be on iOS. I played it on my 3rd gen iPhone a decade ago. Why isn’t that still available!? I’m sure it’s a licensing issue, but seems majorly unfair. It’s the GOAT.

Bait and switch-no retina support, looks nothing like the screenshots. If you're looking for a game with eye candy to play on your iPhone 4/s fancy retina display-don't buy it. I was so disappointed to see that the graphics look nothing like the pictures in the app store. I am thinking they simply used the screen shots from the iPad version and passed them off as iPhone gameplay-seems like a good ol fashion bait and switch. Instead, the graphics look like something you would expect from an early iPhone 3, which is unacceptable for a game that cost 5 bucks. After playing the game for 20 minutes, I found the graphics to be so terriable that I removed the game from my iPhone. IF retina support for the iPhone 4/s become a reality (doubt it) I'll change my rating.

Best Adventure Puzzle game ever!. This is a phenomenal game! The reason folks are rating a 1, is because they are children that don’t like challenging puzzles. This game makes you really think with a side hustle of jokes throughout the game! I can’t wait for more to come!

No controller support. Tank controls do not translate well to touch controls. Shame, I love Monkey Island and would’ve loved to have played this. Maybe if controller support is ever added

Will not even get started. It downloaded fine, & said it worked on my iPhone (new generation), but NOPE.. when you select "New Game" it closes down. So don't waste your money or time.

Amazing!. This game is a lot of fun and this one episode took me about six hours to finish. All episodic games should be this packed. I kept expecting the story to cut off abruptly asking for money, but it kept going! I really hope Lucas Arts and Telltale pair up again to bring back Day Of The Tentacle and continue that story line. I did experience lag at first but cleared some movies off my iPod temporarily, shut down all other apps, and it ran great.

Avoid. Telltale is a horrible company. Do not support them after what they did to there employees.

Very Enjoyable. I enjoyed monkey island as a teen, so downloaded all 5 of these tales. Very amusing and the puzzles were tricky at times. Certainly re-lived some of my wasted youth. I had an iPhone 4S and never had a problem. Try not to rely on walkthroughs too much, it soils the sense of accomplishment! Recommended for all ages.

Game itself is good, but problems keep it from being a good app.. The game itself is awesome. Story, characters, voice acting, puzzles... The problems with it are more about the functionality of the app. It's very choppy and laggy. Also, anytime you tap your iPhone's home button to check a txt or anything for a second, when you click the game to resume it you have to watch the Lucas Arts title screen and the headphones recommendation screen again for some reason. EVERY time. Makes it very unfun to play when multitasking.

I got stuck I think a glitch. When you get to the giant stone door/portal, I went back to town. And now the map isn’t in my inventory (to activate the path back). So I’m pretty sure I’m stuck. Otherwise was having a great time.

Still doesnt work! waste of money!. It seems even with their update you still cant grab the item you are supposed to right in the beginning.. what a shame i had to waste $15 on this, why make a game that doesnt work? and how did you not think of this.? so annoying and such a beginner oversight. why does the character quit the dialogue scene if im not done?

Telltale! Hire a better programmer!. I've played Telltale's games on a variety of platforms, and they struggle on all of them save for a modest PC build. It runs at 60 frames on my iPhone 4s but it freezes regularly for a few seconds and it doesn't support the retina display. If you don't care enough to want your game to have the best, why should I, as a player, care? This is not a huge issue but it's one that's bothered me about Telltale for a while, you need more technical know how on your team!

Not so good, enjoyed so far but..... I play on my iPhone 6 and it won't let me pick up the action figure by doro. Rather frustrating kinda want my 3 bucks back.

Saved games are broken. The game crashes when trying to load any saved game from prior to this version. Aside from a show-stopping bug that never should have made it through quality control, it's a great game! Looking forward to seeing a fix before I play again.

Can someone tell me. How to leave the game without having to start over? I played a little bit and had a text so I switched over and responded, but when I came back to the game it started completely over. Maybe I'm just missing something but it's obnoxious and I'd like to play all the way through without having to sit and play in one session. Thanks! Yeah never mind its just a glitch, I hit resume game and it takes me back to the beginning. Delete

I don't believe all the negative reviews this is getting!. I agree it's kind of tactless to make your start screen a banner of the five episodes, but people, it's telltale. They make episodic games. You don't deserve the rest of them free. As for the game itself, wow! I have a 32gb iPod touch 3rd gen, and it does lag at times, and it doesn't look very good without a retina display, but it's very playable. I thought this would a dumbed-down, low-rez copy of the game, but it's a full port! I'm impressed! Now if telltale would do SBCG4AP next...

Watch out. Crashes on iPad pro with iOS 9+....seems like some thing that should have been fixed before release...

Monkey Island FIXES/ Try This!. I fixed ALL my glitches by finding the original file on my computer and deleting it and the itunes info relating to it. I restarted my computer, re-downloaded it and it works fine. (for me). Delete from phone too, don't forget. Maybe sync phone after both are deleted, too? Then re-download. Just trying to help.

Would be awesome if it didn't lag. Surprisingly, this game is really good. Good storyline, Interesting puzzles that aren't too hard, great one- liners, and decent graphics. However, the lags just kill this game. I love the whole Monkey Island series, so I fought through the lags to finish the game, and I'm glad I did because it was fun. I'm also glad that I didn't pay for this app, because this would be a totally different review if I had paid $5 for it. Paying that much for an app this buggy (even if it was a good game) is totally unacceptable - especially when there are better games available for $1 and $2. Fix the glitches, and I'll consider buying episode 2.

Crashes consistently on iPad Pro. As soon as I hit New Game it crashes.

Still can’t select D’Oro’s dolls. Y’all address that issue yet? Still seems to be a problem. I’m stuck :(

Awesome-Brings you back. Buy the bundle and don’t look back. I’m sad now that I finished it. Worth every penny. Tons of play time. Great graphics and storyline, music, voiceovers, the whole shebang. Played flawlessly on my iPhone 12. Tip: Sometimes it’s easier to use the ship wheel to to activate things but you don’t have to. Arrrrrgh, ya land lubbers!

Bugs still not fixed. Still can’t grab the pile of porcelain dolls which appears to have been a problem for some time now

HAS ITS GLITCHES BUT STILL GREAT. I've been waiting for Telltal to port this game to the iPhone/iTouch ever since it first came out on iPad so needless to say I was stoked when this came out! There are only a few minor issues that prevent this from being perfect. First is the frame rate/stuttering. I own a 4th gen iTouch and there have been several times when the game would lag or the dialogue would stutter. This can usually be fixed by rebooting the device and starting again, but is still slightly frustrating. The second are the graphics. I'm not sure if they had to be bumped down in order to get this ported to such a small device but everything looks choppy. If the graphics and overall performance were improved this would be a perfect game. As it is, it's still every bit as fun as the original PC games and I am definitely looking forward to parts 2-5. Thank you Telltale and I hope you will get these minor glitches fixed in a future update.

Horrible Letdown. I was so excited to try this game, as I have many memories of the original. It crashes every time I try to start a game. I have never made it past the main menu. Total disappointment and waste of money.

Finally for the iphone (or itouch in my situation). WOW!!!! I am so excited that this is finally on the iphone. I have an itouch, but whatever, I can still play it. I have been a long time fan of the Monkey Island series but have never actually played the fifth installment. I played up to the fourth game, and I now finally have to opportunity to play Tales of Monkey Island. Come out with the other episodes for Itouch, please apple!!!

TELLTALE SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(. I have an itouch and it does glitch, both with the sound and picture. In the previous Monkey Island games it runs perfect and you get all the chapters under one price. Hopefully with this series they will include free updates for chapters 2 through 5 or I'll be upset if it's $4.99 for each chapter. Seriously Free after I paid five bucks!!!!!!!!! And then to charge for the next chapter. This is the last game I ever buy from telltale. What a bunch of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unplayable. Crashes when starting a new gam on iPad Pro.

Amazing!. I'm a gigantic fan of the early MI games and at first wasn't crazy about the new look. But after playing for a bit I realized that it looks fantastic and more importantly has the same sense of humor, ludicrous solutions, and weirdest inventory of all of its predecessors. I'm really hopin that episodes 4 and 5 are released soon!

Lag fix!!. I too figured out how to fix the lag. Just shut down all background running apps. (tap square menu button once, then hold down on an app till an x appears and press it to stop the app from running) and make sure that monkey island tales itself is removed from the list, no matter how recently it was used, start the game and bingo!!! No more lag! Even on the 3rd gen itouch! Once I figured this out the game ran perfectly! It is a bit annoying to have to buy each chapter separately, but seeing as I just use price drop apps to wait till things go free, I'm good. Monkey island forever!!!

Please update to widescreen. This game is very good and it lives up to the previous installments of the series , I had downloaded it a few years ago until it stopped working on newer phones. I then saw the re-release but was disappointed when the games has not been updated to be widescreen. I know Tell-Tale games probably doesn’t have time to give us a version that will take full advantage of newer hardware but if y’all do it would make this great game even better.

Can’t access items. As far as I’ve gotten, (which isn’t far) I’ve enjoyed the game-but I’m stuck, because I can’t grab an item that your supposed to swipe while the D’Oro guy is distracted. The wheel icon in the bottom right corner is right over the pile of “figurines” and it just moves the select options, and won’t allow me to get it. If there was a way to fix this, that’d be great; I’ve always enjoyed the Monkey Island games.

Great! ..but. The Chapter was very short for 5 bucks. If the next 4 chapters are not included in that price or don't at least drop down a couple dollars for initial buyers then I will be legitimately angry, but overall great game! So my rating will stay at 5 stars unless the following chapters are going to be 5 bucks a piece.

Disappointed the game is unplayable requested a refund the day of no response. I have an iPhone 7 I play games on don’t usually have issue with games I purchase but for some reason it won’t go past the first part of chapter 1 I bough all 5 episodes and they just open the beginning starts and it shuts off and turns to a black screen I requested a refund the day of and Havnt gotten a refund or a response I wanna play the game but it won’t work so i lost 15 $

Superb game. Best point and click adventure game in years comes to iPhone! Positives: Looks and runs great on my iPhone 4S! Great humor and puzzles! It's Monkey Island! Negatives: Probably runs poorly on anything from before the 4S. No universal app? Pretty lame! Confusing: People giving bad reviews because the others chapters are not free? Can you people not tell quality from the usual garbage you get for free? I bought thus game on the PC for $35 and it was worth every penny! This is the same game with no concessions in quality! Stop being cheap and support great quality games from smaller game devs!

Lag fix!!. Everyone is complaining about lag and I was experiencing the same problem and the lag is bad!! But to get the game running smoothly just make sure that you don't have any apps running in the background at all. If you kill all of the background apps the start Tails of mainly island again the game will run smooth. I did that and it runs perfect now!! I hope this helps everyone and it's actually a pretty good game!!

Great game. Is a great game. A little complicated to move at times but everything else is superb, worth the money

Great app!. I am new to the Monkey Island series, but I really enjoy the game! The plot is great, the characters are great, the graphics are great even without Retina support. The only technically minor problem that it lags a little bit on my touch4, but it's a great app, and it is sure worth buying.

Won't play. Can't play games, crashes every time I tap new game

Monkey Island. The game doesnt work well on my phone. Objects i am suppose to tap end up placed behind icons no matter how I turn the phone. So i am just stuck.

Crashes on iPad pro. The game crashes when I tap 'new game'. Although I have this game in HD on my iPad I can not get the sound to work so purchased it again on the pro. I think the sound is working here but I can not open it.

LAG FIX!. I figured out how to fix the lag. Delete all from your multitasking bar. It worked for me on my 3rd gen iPod Touch. Anyways the review: This game is one of the funnier games I've played in a while! It's also free right now so that's a bonus! I give it 5 out of 5!

Fantastic!. Now that retina is supported, and multitasking works as well, this game is simply fantastic. Great gameplay, fun story, nice graphics! My original review: The game is great, except for 2 very frustrating shortcomings. First, the graphic is very pixellated, as retina display is not supported. Second, the game drops to the main menu every time you switch to something else (like a phone call), as rapid app switching (part of ios multitasking) is not supported either. Fix these two things, and I will up my rating.

Loved it. I did not have any lag problems or glitches at all on my iPhone 4. I'm guessing the people complaining are either using older phones or have too many apps running. My one complaint is the cost of buying multiple episodes. It makes it a little pricy once you buy all the episodes. That said I wish that more of their games were available on the iPhone.

No Retina?. Love the series. Love telltale. But guys no Retina? Really? People like Rockstar are putting out games like GTA full console game that's Retina. And IB2? Look at that. It doesn't have to be mind blowing like IB2 but come on just some regular old Retina support is needed. Some of the best of this game is how colorful and pretty the art is. It cannot be fully appreciated without Retina. That's one star off. Second star off is because it's a bit choppy. It can hinder some gameplay. Otherwise it should be 5 stars. Make it smoother 4 stars. Make it smoother and Retina? 5 stars all day. And the $5 price point is fine by me as lone as its smooth and RETINA! I will pay $5 for each if they play smooth and have Retina.

It's brilliant to finally see this come to iPhones I have been waiting so long for this :) the graphics are not retina supported but it's not really that big of a deal, if u have a sluggish time just turn off ur phone ten back on again and it works fine. Would love to see other telltale games follow to the iPhone aswell - back to the future, Jurassic park, Sam and max...

Monkey island is awesome. Hee hee hee I just came back from an epic adventure, just let me find my breath.....… O.K. I am back now let's review, tales from monkey island is a great way to get your self started in the monkey island series as it is not as tricky as the first and will give you a lot of good laughs. The ending is shocking for any non- monkey island-noob and leaves you begging for more. Also can any one tell me when the next Episode is out I can't wait !!!!!!!!!!. The game play is great and the story is interesting and easy to follow. The puzzles are fun and satisfying, it was fun when you try to... Steal... The screaming narwal. I know the game has sword fights but there was none in this episode, apart from the start if you can call it a sword fight. I rate the game 5 stars and hope the second is even better. I NEED A BUG FIX. When I try to open the app, it shows a loading sign and it crashes. I tried this loads of times and even re-installed the app but it keeps happening! Please help!!!!!!

Too short :(. I took a gamble spending 5.49 on this but i loved mi 1&2 so much that I gave it a go! at first I thought I'd wasted my money, it was unplayable, choppy and lagged, but I read the post below and rebooted my 3g iPhone and voila it came good! The navigation is very different to mi 1&2 but suprisingly easy to get used to. I'm very disappointed that it was so short, especially for 549 :( I didn't purchase the following eps until they were on sale but i recommend them all (preferably on sale tho!)

Fantastic game, loved it. Best game I've played on the iPad!!

Initial impressions. I haven't played the whole episode on iPhone yet but I can offer a few comments. The graphics are good, but can be sluggish at times. The resolution is standard, not retina display, but that shouldn't deter most players. The controls seemed a little awkward at first, but became easier to use with practice. Notably, the act of selecting different in world objects is facilitated by a sort of scroll wheel which allows the player to switch between objects. It works well enough, but can be touchy. The story and gameplay are entertaining, but may seem a little convoluted to those unfamiliar with the franchise. Fans of Guybrush's previous games wont be disappointed by the humor and story. All things considered a good port to the iPhones small screen. I look forward to the rest of the series and (hopefully) other games from telltale.

Not happy. Not sure why I didn’t take note of the reviews. This game closes the moment I try to load the game. DONT DO IT!

Epicness in an iPod. I originally had the ps2 version so I tried this while it was free. I love it. It can be laggy at times but the story is just as good and it is just as challenging as well. Great job. The only downside is the lag. Fix that and it will be perfect.

Tis the best!!!. This game is wicked!!! If you liked the series so far, this does not disappoint. Still has that classic style to it! New puzzles with the same sarcastic humor. The price could always be improved, but they have put allot into this game! Wish there were way more games like this available!!!

Hilarious and fun. Get the series.. This game is great. You have to get series. Difficulty is reasonable and can be finished without walkthroughs. And you would live it if you enjoy adventure games.

Great game. Felt a little short - and yes the frame-rate can dip quite low at times even on iPhone 4 but really I'm such a fan of the series I kinda just put that out of mind. Also agree that the "wheel" selector could be tightened up or reworked it felt a bit cumbersome - all in all great dialogue, animation and puzzles with the same spark that had me hooked as a child - want more ;)

Monkey island forever!. The monkey island island games have changed my life!!!! There's nothing else like them that I know of anyways, I couldn't happier to be playing a new game after all these years:) just finished chapter and starting chapter 2:)

Great series, poor execution. Game catches (freezing for a few seconds) on my iPhone4 Movement is a little awkward (controls could be better) Jokes are largely re-hashed and uninspired I absolutely loved the original monkey island adventure games. Unfortunately, this game is not in the same league.

Loved it!. Has the same great story and humour as the original. It was hard sometimes to click on small items/map locations. The option to reveal x's on items to investigate was great, helps when you're stuck and looking for what you might have missed. l liked the movie clips and cut always they really added to the game.

Crappy laggy! Arrrrrgh. Not enough testing done to ensure proper performance on the iPhone or the thing is just too big to run well. Will consider the PC version instead.

Isn't this the fourth one?. So you people did The Secret Of Monkey Island (1), The Secret Of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (2), and then the fourth one? What about The Curse Of Monkey Island which I'm pretty sure is the third one? I was really hoping for that one because it's my favorite! I hate the graphics for this too. It was one of those games that weren't meant to be 3D and THAT animated. I'll try it out and see if it's good though. I've heard the humor really went down in this one.oh and there's also WAY too much lag!

Excellent revival of old series!!. Glad to see ol guybrush return. I was reading other reviews, I thought gameplay was excellent on my 3GS, but I don't expect blazing speed on a phone, it's still just a phone! Some improvements could be done to that wheel selector, found it jumpy like the one reviewer stated. Otherwise excellent game, worth every cent. can't wait for the next chapter

Faithful revival, great gameplay. This is a faithful revival of the monkey series, with great dialogue, puzzles and scenarios. Well worth the 4.99. I didn't experience any lag on iPhone 4S, everything ran great and the interface translates well to iPhone. Would still like to see the interface tightened up though - the "wheel" cycles through items a little quickly sometimes and it would be great if it were easier to scroll over locations on the island map. Can't wait for the other chapters!

Great game, minor flaws. I love the series and have played them all - this one is in my opinion a half star behind the rest...personally I would of liked to see MI 3 redone. The only issue with this game is the lag here and there (mainly cut scenes) and I'm on an iPhone 4 so I think this would be awful on the 3GS and lower..then again it lags on the Wii as well so maybe that's just standard...worth the price, great game 4.5/5

Boo hiss!!!. I've tried to open the game but it keeps crashing. I've tried contacting someone at telltale games but all they have is a forum and I can't even search my problem because I have to wait 10 seconds between searches. I am so frustrated because I spent $4.00 on this game that doesn't work. Yes, I tried reloading it but its still not working. Very disappointed considering how many games this company has.

Not the best. The intro kept skipping. I waited over 5 minutes for the intro I pass but the actual gameplay skips and is choppy as well. Fix it, then I would play it.

So happy. I grew up playing monkey island games and I'm so happy that there are still new adventures to be had! I hope they keep making games until I'm old! Maybe even a console game!

Free and still not worth it... :(. I was all excited to find I could download and play this old classic on my iPod touch (4th gen). After an agonizingly slow download (for whatever reason) I find that the app simply will not run. Just goes to an all white screen and stays that way. This isn't a matter of a simple bug, the dang thing WON'T EVEN START!!! Talk about lack of quality control and beta testing. Just sad.

Unplayable due to performance. I want so bad for this to be playable, the content looks great, I love monkey island. The lag kills it though. Release an update and I'll change my opinion and play happily, but until then the app is junk. (this is on an iPhone 4)

Glitchy. This game looks great, but the lag & glitching are just awful! The only part where it DIDN'T glitch so far was when I was talking to the news guy on that windy island. FIX!

Über Lag in the Start. I was hoping the update would optimize the game some for older phones like my 3GS. Now, though, I can't even get into the game. It shows the loading text for a second and then exits. Unplayable.

ok. i have all of the other monkey islands and have waited for this one to go on sale and when it went on sale for free i got it, only to get a jettery and slow app that crashes every time i try and get guybrush to move. also i cant get off the freaking island!!! please fix!!!!!!

If you liked the earlier games.... You'll love this refreshed version with challenging puzzles, 3d graphics, and improved gameplay! I'm running on an iPhone 4 and it's smooth for the most part. 4.99 is a bit steep for the length of the game but still enjoyed it.

Horribly Glitchy. It is really glitchy and slow. It is really hard to understand what people are saying and really hard to move. Please fix immediately. It is a really fun game but it would be 10x better if it didn't glitch so much.

Control. Once you get the hang of maneuvering the characters, the game rocks!! I'm new to "monkey island" games, so I was absolutely pleasantly surprised! However, I do hope after paying $4.99 the developers won't charge $4.99 for tale 2... All in all definitely recommend!

No Problems. Works completely fine on my iPhone, haven't experienced any crashes or anything. I hope the series continues because I have been playing Monkey Island for forever!

Plan to buy them all. I got chapter 1 for free, and I liked it so much that I plan the buy the other chapters.

$25 is too much for all the parts!. Annoyed I paid $5 for this last week & now it is free. And now I am expected to pay $5 for part 2. Maybe I should wait to see if it becomes free too. Apart from price & lags, works ok on Ipod4

The fun is back!. Feels like old times. Graphics look beautiful on a retina display. Didn't experience any lag, but I am playing on a 4S. Definitely going to check out the next episode.

Great game. Great game but not long enough to be worth five bucks. I will be buying the other chapters but only when they come down in price. I'm sitting on my wallet till then.

Why does it look like crap?. Graphically far far far inferior to SE:M1 Special Edition and MI2: LeChuck's revenge - those both look crisp and detailed. This game looks all fuzzy and choppy. Is it something with my phone?

Not HD?. When I download on my iPhone 4s the icon is HD, but when it installs the icon switches to lorez and the game is as well. That doesn't seem right.

please please support retina display on iphone4s. i would definitly buy all the episodes since im a huge fan of monkey island series, but bulky pixels just keep distracting me from playing it. please do support retina display like you did on 4th and 5th episodes...

Crashes at startup. Crashes after a couple seconds of the loading screen. Wish I could play it. I love all the telltale games!

Amazing fun. If you have followed this story before, you will love this game. Great story, challenging puzzles. Graphics could be upgraded some but gameplay great. I love the 3d aspect compared to the 2d. Same great characters and humor. 5 stars. Great job cant wait for more.....

MI is back!. Finally able to play Tales of Monkey Island! Has the same great feel and formula as the old ones (MI 1&2). No lag (for me at least), story is great, can't wait to finish it. Waited a long time for MI to come back.

Very choppy. I have always loved the Monkey Island series, but I am very disappointed with how choppy the audio is and how long it takes to transition between scenes and tasks. While I enjoy the game for its wit and storyline, I will not purchase another episode until the glitches are updated. Not what I expected as a final product from Lucasarts. Very dissapointing.

Sadly not worth it. It's pretty expensive to have it crash every time you open it...loading screen for 2 seconds and back to home screen. I was really excited when I saw this too

Glitch!?. I can't seem to pick up an action figure and when I put bomb in pink underwear no matter what I do, it just blows up. Whether I touch the clothesline, walk away or talk to the guy on boat. Any help?

Frustrating controls. I'm playing on a 2nd gen Touch and can't get past the opening puzzle because I can't get Guybrush to walk rather than look at stuff. Looks like it would be fun if I could get past it...

Pretty good. Challenging, cool story line, easier to use than the other monkey island games. Wish it was longer considering the price. On my iPhone 3GS it was really glitchy sometimes- getting stuck/skipping, but if I closed the game and reopened it, it would be ok eventually. Pretty annoying though.

I'm a HUGE Monkey Island fan. So I'm glad that they started to rerelease the original games for iPhone, and now to have one that I haven't played before.

Super glitchy. Only game my iphone4 chokes on. I love monkey island but this plays so bad and stutters audio I give up. And with old gfx too! Lucky it was free. Don't pay money for this.

An excellent revival for the Monkey Island series. I downloaded this game for free. It at first lagged a lot, but after clearing all of my videos and music it ran really smoothly. I had to knock off a star for that. Otherwise, the gameplay is fun and the story is catchy. I especially liked the cliff hanger ending.

Compatible with 3GS? What a lie.. Very disappointed that this game will not even load, despite iOS being up to date. I love the old Monkey Island games and was looking forward to playing this. Don't waste your money if you're using an older iPhone.

ADDICTING!!!!!. This game has awesome characters and it's a series! It gets really afflicting so if you'd rather not be on your phone in front of friends and family I wouldn't suggest it. The game is hilarious and incredibly fun to play.

Poor controls poor speed on iphone4. This game has been out a long time. I noticed first ep was free. Game is so bad I felt I had to write something to express how horrid this game is. Runs like crap on iPhone 4 controls very clunky work half the time & combining system inventory is def not intuitive. This game just feels old like it belongs on a win98 desktop with mouse and keyboard.

Good game, terrible lag. I'm playing on my iPod touch 4 and well, the game seems fun and funny but the lags and skipping are just so terrible that it's hard to enjoy. At one point I couldn't even hear what they were saying for 5 minutes because it just kept lagging... I love point and clicks so hope this gets updated.
